Visiting Panthera Big Cat Sanctuary in Stanford was both heartbreaking and inspiring. Hearing the stories of lions, tigers, and leopards rescued from the lion bone trade, tiger bone medicine trade, and other cruelty brought the reality of these issues to life in a way I’ll never forget. What makes Panthera exceptional is their 100% ethical approach. The animals live in spacious, natural habitats tailored to their needs, with an enrichment enclosure to keep them stimulated — no petting, no exploitation, just genuine care. Our guide, Kate, was outstanding — knowledgeable, passionate, and happy to answer every question. The visit was educational, emotional, and truly impressive to see how the sanctuary is determined to respect the animals and give them the dignity they deserve. I highly recommend this to all ages. What an awesome experience!! Did one of their tours a few days ago and really enjoyed it. I was a bit sceptical about the ethical aspects but it seems like a honest sanctuary and I couldn’t find any negative things about it. They’re acting in the best interest of the animals. If the animals don’t want to be seen you won’t see them. Personally I rather not see them but know that they are comfortable instead of them being in a small cage just for the sake of humans entertainment! They inform you about all the animals and their history which also helps you to understand the animal rights in (south) Africa more. So all in all a pleasant experience and a good sanctuary to support.

I absolutely loved this experience: it was very educational, it raised our awareness of what is actually happening out there with wild cats. I love what they stand for, they ethics and love and care for animals. Claire handled our group so well despite of so many small kids. I know I will visit again because we all thoroughly enjoyed it!

Excellent sanctuary. Definitely worth a visit. Our guide Kate gave us extensive knowledge about the breeding trade as well as the bone trade in South Africa. She also gave us the back stories of the saved animals in the sanctuary which gave them character. Instead of just a tiger/lion etc they had names and a survival story. Definitely recommending for friends and family.

You need to book a tour in advance, as individual visits aren’t allowed — rightly so, in the interest of the animals’ well-being. Our guide Kate was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information, which is exactly what you’d hope for from an educational visit. We were able to see all the resident felines and learned in depth about the wildcats, the sanctuary’s background and, on the contrary, the broader industry that exploits big cats. It was clear that everything here is truly done with the animals’ welfare in mind. A must for anyone who wants to understand the realities behind South Africa’s wildlife industry.

So much to do, wine tasting which was very good on the deck under the trees or buy a picnic and lounge on the grass next to the river, or possibly stock up with your favorites and float down the river on the barge. Lovely way to spend a lazy day.

Great wine, lovely atmosphere. Great prices on both the wine tasting and their food. Don't know if it's always like this since we went there shortly after heavy rain- but the river was dirty and didn't smell too pleasant . But the restaurant was amazing with live music.

What an amazing experience I’ve had here, after doing a couple of wine tastings around Cape-town ,the wine tasting experience here was really different .It was not just about the wine but knowing the story behind the wines made me feel like I’m part of the family.The whole place is a beautiful story .From the drive going there ,I learnt that all the vines fenced with red flowers belong to the winery ,you get excited on the road before you even reach the winery.

This is great for families. Great setting with lush greenery and proud family heritage used in the tasting room and restaurant. Fantastic wine selection. A must visit.

I’m not one to write a negative review, but after being blown away by Nuy Estate yesterday, the lack lustre approach to a wine tasting experience at Van Loveren left more than the taste of tannin in the mouth. Positive: We were 3 attending on a quiet Monday and each opted for a wine/food paring option. The pairings were good, the wines were mostly enjoyable and as not much of a Chardonnay fan I can highly recommend the Christina’s Chardonnay - a pleasant woodie Chardonnay. Now - the negatives: it costs nothing to be nice and make people feel welcome. A very basic greeting was followed by no clear guidelines or suggestions. We knew we wanted to do a food and wine pairing tasting - so after picking a place to sit, we were presented with a menu. No discussion, suggestions or interaction. Shortly after our wine was brought all On one black tray, placed in front of us with no clear indication what we were having till we asked in what order. No information or anything forthcoming. After another 5 minutes our small tray of food pairing arrived - no napkins. No discussion or any interaction again. When we asked for a napkin, we were presented with plastic wrapped “scented dry wipes”. Firstly - sustainability? Secondly - the smell from a scented wipe during wine tasting? Upon paying - nada, nothing until I actually sarcastically said “thank you for asking , our time here was fine”. The sarcasm was lost. P.s. no soap in ladies… This probably would have warranted a three star review, but when on extended travel through SA, and having been so surprised by a lesser known in my experience like Nuy, you’d expect much better and higher standards of customer care from an “old and established” high end “perceived” estate like Van Loveren. I hope this will assist you in inspiring your staff to be brave, free and welcoming in the future - especially during quiet winter months Even “fake enthusiasm” is better than a luke warm breeze.

We did the Bush buck trail. It was a really stunning and well maintained trail. Along the river, through trees and up a rocky hill. Plenty of bird life.

The Bontebok National Park is conveniently located just off the busy N2 national road, making it easily accessible by any type of vehicle. It’s a perfect stop for day visitors looking to stretch their legs during a road trip. The park offers several short hiking trails and a cycling route, along with designated fishing spots along the river. It is one of the few National Parks that allows fishing, hiking, and cycling without restrictions, so you can enjoy the activities without worry. The park also provides facilities for overnight camping as well as accommodation in chalets. For more information, visit the SANParks website.

Disappointed by the state of the campsite after a long time of not visiting the reserve. The sites were small and provided little or no privacy from the next site. The biggest drawback of the whole camp was the dubbeltjie and tree thorns on the ground. The ground was also exceptionally hard and a mallet is advisable. The signage for the different trails was also very misleading and no indication of what to expect - rocky/thorny/steep inclines/declines. The one shorter trail required all 4's and holding onto plants/grass to avoid slipping in one place. The ablution block on the other hand was fantastic. Modern, clean and very accessible. There's a scullery with hot water and a food prep area with 4 plate electric plates, a microwave and a kwikot water heater with permanently available boiling water on tap. There are chalets available in the campsite, including 2 mobility challenged and 4 family. There are antelope & zebra to be seen and there is a 'game viewing' route, but this is not a big game reserve. The bird life is varied and depends on seasons. If the aloes are flowering/how high the river level is/how much rain has fallen. It can be wet. It can be cold and it can be extremely hot. The water at the camp is safe to drink, but be prepared for even changes in temperature between day and night.

Amazing cooking facilities and ablution blocks but the lack of any information on the park or trails is unfortunate. No one at reception volunteered any. There is a notice at reception of the names and distance of the walks but nothing else. There are no maps of the area or indication of the terrain or difficulty of the trail. Trails are poorly signposted. The reception is very new but all exhibits are old and tired. Faded photographs with very little information. Bontebok park has a wealth of birds but not one photograph. The camp sites (only 3 with no power) were very thorny and felt in need of maintenace The views of the river are lovely but acess to the river from camp is challenging. A lot of money appears to have been spent on decoration and little on conservation. V sad

Didn't see any animals. Pro tip, take insect repellant on the hikes. Only did the short hike but I heard the long one is the most popular. Driving the loop can be done with a normal car, but better with high ground clearance vehicle. The top race course viewpoint was serene.

What a pleasant experience to visit the different exhibitions of the Drostdy Museum in Swellendam! When we arrived, we were welcomed by a very friendly lady who sold us entrance tickets and who gave us some background on the different exhibitions. We visited the old jail, the Drostdy House and the exhibition of wagons and carriages. It was clear that a lot of effort had been made to get the exhibits as complete as possible and to give a true-to-life version of Swellendam's history. Here an there it is clear that maintenance was outstanding, but overall the facilities and exhibitions left a good impression. Visitingthe museum when you visit Swellendam is a must.

Here is consisted in 3 areas apart from each other(3minutes by walk). The entrance fee is 80 rands per person. There are many interesting things(100-200 years old)in each building by its own theme. Like in smith house, you can see smith tools in 19th. It’ll take 1-2hrs depends on your style. Buildings are just fantastic when it combine with blue sky and mountain! Recommended!

We stopped at the Drostdy Museum to explore what it had to offer and found it absolutely fascinating. The old jail cells provided a sobering and thought-provoking experience, while the walk through the Ambagswerf or Trade Yard, was truly impressive and beautifully preserved. I loved every moment of it. Strolling through the Magistrate’s House and the courtroom felt like stepping back in time. If you have a passion for history, I highly recommend visiting this remarkable place.

This museum is amazing, a real gem in the area. The guide was very friendly and passionately shared her knowledge about the area. If you're in Swellendam don't go past without stopping in for a few hours.

Lovely, quaint museum located in the heart of Swellendam. It would be the perfect picnic spot and a great little walkabout. There was lots to learn about the history of Swellendam. The museum is divided into various sections and is free to the public. We went on a Sunday and enjoyed having the place to ourselves as we took our time exploring the complex.

Lovely museum in the fourth oldest town in South Africa. The three-site layout leads you to walk through the town a bit as well, giving you the opportunity to experience the calm atmosphere. The museum showcases colonial homes as they would have looked in the 18th and 19th century. One also cannot miss the second-oldest jail in South Africa! Definitely a must-see if you are in town

What an amazing experience! The trail wasn’t too tough for me, but fitness levels will vary. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and the huts are well-equipped—except for the last one, which is more basic. Be sure to stock up on supplies before entering the reserve. I’m so grateful to live in such a stunning country. I’d definitely do this hike again!

My wife and I enjoyed camping under Wild Fig trees in a beautiful and private camp site. Each with water, electricity and a braai. Clean ablution facilities with friendly staff. We did trail running on three days while cycling and hiking is also options. Will visit again!

Terrific walks and beautiful surroundings, spectacular views while hiking. The only time we saw a large herd of Hartebeest during our time in South Africa, asking with other wildlife.

When you think you’ve seen it all… WHAT A PLACE. Absolutely stunning and impressive. Comparable to Cape of Good Hope but way more nature und less tourists. Totally love it. Had relatively bad weather but still insanely great. Did the 5km hike which is doable with a „basic stamina“. Paid R180 for 3 people. 100% worth it.

Lovely Nature Reserve Great to camp as generally not busy & sites private. Sites vary in size, protection from elements, shade, closeness to bathrooms etc so check carefully what would suit your camping equipment & the experience sought. Bathrooms are well serviced despite being a little old. Staff very friendly & hand soaps etc top class. Then there's the wash up area that provides dish soap, scourers, dish towels & replaced once used. Water pressure not the best if busy but water always hot. The reserve as a whole is a treasure chest for the adventure - plenty miles to bike, hike, snorkel, explore dunes,, spot animals & birds. There's tours offered, river cruises etc. There's a restaurant, pool & more and guests seem mainly international. Definitely worth a visit & staff are most welcoming & friendly.

A world class destination with well maintained amenities. The Bites beach cafe has a good selection of well priced meals with an out of this world whale sighting experience. There is a bit of a walk from the parking down to the cafe, but this is on a well paved dual track. This is accessible on an assisted wheelchair. The game viewing is authentic and unique, with loads of diversity in fauna and flora. Bring binoculars or a camera.

We had the most incredible time at Sanbona. It was the trip of a lifetime. Everything from the moment we arrived at the welcome lodge was absolutely perfect. Tilney Manor was so peaceful, comfortable and luxurious. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive and the service was impeccable. The food (and there was LOTS) was always delicious and varied. But nothing stands up to the incredible reserve. Our guide, Jordan, was such an expert and made our game drives truly unforgettable experiences. Every drive brought a new and wonderful experience - we saw giraffes, elephants, rhinos, lions, cheetah, baboons, zebra, and much more! The conservation work and research they're doing is amazing! Can't recommend it more highly and we desperately want to go back!

Thank you so much for this wonderful stay. I have never experienced a vacation like this before – right in the middle of nowhere, yet so perfect. From the warm welcome at the Main Gate to the refreshing towels upon arrival at the lodge, everything was flawless. The friendliness of the managers, our guide Marco who gave us unforgettable moments, and the attentiveness of all the staff such as Ricardo, Nelly, and many others made our stay truly special. Every wish was taken care of with such thoughtfulness. This is a holiday that will remain in our hearts forever.

Sanbona was the highlight of our trip! The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, the food was incredible, and the views were outstanding whether you were out on safari, sitting by the pool, or simply sitting in your room. We were here for ~4 days and each safari ride was better than the last thanks to our fantastic guide!

A fabulous time! We stayed in Tilney manor for 3 nights. Everything was exceptional. Such a beautiful experience seeing all the wildlife, Jan was our safari guide, he has experience is knowledgeable and ever so humorous to be around! Thank you to Tilney staff for management of our rooms, the delicious meals and an all round a memory my husband and I will reflect on for a lifetime! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for an ethical safari experience and still be close to Cape Town!

Sanbona was the perfect ending to our honeymoon—peaceful, unforgettable, and absolutely magical. The team was so welcoming and friendly, we truly felt at home. They even provided halal food for us and made sure we were taken care of at every moment. Our guide Janri was amazing—professional, kind, and knowledgeable. Thanks to him, we encountered lots of wildlife, including the Big Five, and learned so much along the way. The lodge managers were just as warm and made every detail feel special. We’re leaving today, but a piece of our hearts is still at Sanbona. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxury, authentic safari experience.

Did not realise it was another 1.5 hrs to the lodge from the entrance , my bad. However, that 1.5 hrs met with several springboks and an elephant along the way, which was so memorable. The accommodation was perfect , the best part of it was our ranger Yandry, he is so experience and took us to see the big 5s and provided so much knowledge for us to appreciate the animals. The rest of the staff were amazing as well. Irshaad who took care of us when we were dining, Monica was a great ambassador for Sanbona and a gentleman I forgot his name who met us at departure . The immaculate service eg the welcome hot towels when we came back from drives, the delicious and high quality food and beverage. It’s great value for what you pay for. Highly recommend.

We are from NY: this reserve is spectacular and the accommodations and service are absolutely great. We stayed for 4 days and we recommend it! Got to see beautiful animals in their natural settings! Scenery and plant life are incredible!

I have been to Ronnie’s Sex Shop 10 years ago. There is no comparison. It is very run down, no stock in the shop and NO wine. The response was that they had a busy season and have had no time to stock up. This was on 17 January. Big disappointment.

The recent video by French YouTuber Kino Yves documents an experience at Ronnie's Sex Shop.. Not a good one in the eyes of many South Africans. The individual behind the counter displayed a shocking lack of hospitality, treating a foreign visitor with an unprofessional and rude demeanor. While the price of R30 for a small, 200ml drink is concerning, the poor customer service is what truly stands out. Given the global reach of this video (already 28K views in 8 hours at the time of writing this), this incident could be incredibly damaging to your business's reputation and deter future tourism. I urge the management to address this behavior to ensure all visitors are treated with the kindness and respect South Africa is known for.

To be honest the last time I was here was in the year 2000 when I was 13. We stayed at warmwaterberg for y2k. I remember it like it was yesterday. Dinner at Ronnies then back to the caravans, dad got Tig and Tag the sheep who my sister and I got to name the year before so pissed they were still laying asleep outside the caravan the next morning. I signed the champagne cork and hid it in a tree. Im 38 and live in New Zealand now. I really want to come back to visit S.A so I can visit. Such good memories here. If I make the trip back can I get a free beer hahaha

A visit to Ronnies Sex Shop on Route 62 is an absolute must. It's just an 18-minute drive from Barrydale, so resist the temptation to stop there first! Ronnie and his wife are incredibly entertaining and brimming with character, eager to share their fascinating stories. The food, while simple, is delicious, and the prices are the best you'll find in the area and its surroundings. The views are nothing short of breathtaking. Be sure to try their 18+ milkshakes; we indulged in the coffee and rum, as well as the Turkish delight and vodka flavors, and they were incredibly tasty. I'm definitely planning to return the next time we're in the area!

After watching and following Keno Eves, the cyclist from France on you Tube, I was disgusted on hom the "barman" treated Keno. He doesn't make eye contact, he doesn't stand up for a customer, hardly acknowledges his presence there, and worst of all...R30 for a can of cold drink!! Daylight robbery. Best pit stop ever! What a lovely experience! The Botanique cream liqueur is to die for! Tastes like crème brûlée in a jar! Such lovely staff and so informative and friendly! A very stylish place with chilled jazz playing in the back ground. Very relaxing. Ask for Girland!

Very Classy , Enjoyed the experience. Definitely a must visit if you drive past Still-bay. Their cocktails and Gin infused ice cream is a winner. (not recommended to bring young children with)

An unforgattable experience - superb gin, liqueur, rum and a staff component with energy, enthusiasm, sense of humour, efficient and very friendly. We had a great time. (and then I heard that they were only temperoray staff because the permanent staff were on a training course! Almost too good to believe!). People being the heart of the business! A highlight in many years of traveling around.

For the gin lovers.. this is a treat. I arrived on a Friday afternoon (out of busy season) expecting to wait, however I was greeted at reception and welcomed. Luckily it was not too busy and I was able to find a spot outside under the trees. There are plenty tables available.. more than one would expect. The waitress was very friendly and helpful and did great work in explaining the gin tasting (I opted for the informal one). The experience is well worth the visit and a good gin or 3🙈 The food menu is small and limited however the portions are large. I would recommend sharing any of the sandwiches. And taste the ice cream… also large portions.. I didn’t do the tour or making my own you, however the staff were happy for me to browse around and ask questions. I really enjoyed the professional yet relaxed atmosphere and the attention to detail. There is even a cordial tasting for children. 😁 This is a must-do if you are in or around StillBaai.

This was the best experience possible. The staff are very friendly, helpful and definitely know what they are talking about. Our Gin Academy experience were excellent, very insightful and interesting.

We had an amazing stay at Garden Route. The staff was very welcoming and truly wonderful. Hewert greeted us with a warm smile and graciously showed us around. He was very knowledgeable about the facilities and gave us all the info we needed for our game drives. We started our stay with massages. The spa staff did an excellent job getting us to relax and set the mood just right for our stay. I HIGHLY recommend adding some spa services to your stay. Tim was our safari guide. We loved hearing all his stories. He did an amazing job making sure we saw some memorable moments. We saw a cheetah with a fresh kill. A sweet little rhino nursing. We even had a fun interaction between that same precocious rhino baby and the cheetah that was so much fun to watch. The buffalo and hippos were an amazing sight too. Tim’s knowledge of the animals, birds, and plant life was nothing short of an encyclopedia. His passion for the animals and the world around him is infectious and made us connect to the land even more. We stayed in the Luxury Family Suite with Pool. It was perfect size for us and our 15 year old daughter. The room was clean, beautiful, and very well appointed. We slept like rocks! We didn’t get a chance to use the outdoor tub but really wanted to. The plunge pool was heated! We were even able to get into the pool at night in September and star gazed for a bit. The dining facilities were wonderful and such a sanctuary. All the food was delicious and staff was very welcoming and took great care of us. Garden Route was the perfect safari choice for us. It is not commercial, not crowded and we loved the individualized boutique feel. We have no regrets booking our stay at Garden Route, our only regret was that we could only book for one night instead of 2 or 3 nights.

Absolutely loved this place. We had a luxury suite which overlooked the watering hole and open ground. Suite had baths and showers inside and out. Although plug didn't work for outside bath, so moved indoors. Showers were good. Good was excellent with options to try done if the game seen. Note this is sourced from a butcher not by the lodge themselves. Breakfast and dinner offered plenty of variety. The drives themselves were excellent. Our guide Hanre was every knowledgeable, funny and used his skills to get us to seea lot of animals. We were lucky to see the hippos in playful mode- fantastic. We also saw the Cheetahs close up. This is not the Kruger park so animal numbers are limited but the drives meet all our expectations we stopped off on each afternoon drive to have a drink and nibbles. I chose to miss the last morning drive for a massage and to use the adults only pool. There are pools for the kids too

One of the biggest highlights of our trip was that the staff helped my partner plan the most romantic marriage proposal, it was absolutely perfect and something we’ll never forget. Everything about our stay was spot on. The service felt personal and friendly, the food was delicious, and the game drives were such a great mix of fun and informative. We were lucky enough to see all of the Big 5, which made it even more memorable. Colleagues went for a lunch here. And we had lovely experience. We came for.peace and quietness and just for some relaxation. And indeed we got it. Service was great. Food was lovely. Atmosphere was good. We had no rush and the staff didn't let us feel rush. Definitely going there again.

A special mention must go to Hewart, our game driver. He was absolutely exceptional. Hewart combined professionalism with genuine passion, and his knowledge of wildlife was outstanding. He had an incredible eye for spotting animals, even from a distance, and always took the time to explain their behaviors, habits, and conservation importance. What impressed me most was how he made the drives both educational and exciting—always ensuring we had the best vantage points while also respecting the animals and their environment. Thanks to Hewart, every game drive felt personal and meaningful. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he made sure everyone in the vehicle felt engaged and cared for.

Did a 2 and half hour game drive with a lovely and very entertaining guide who clearly knew her stuff! Had a scrmptious lunch afterwards in restaurant - great value for a great experience! Definitely recommend it!

Such a great trip! The lodge is about 4 hours from Cape Town but worth every minute as it was such good value for money (compared to other SA safaris) and we saw 4/5 of the Big 5 in our 2 days there. We also saw Cheetahs which were awesome!! The guide we had, Janco, was absolutely unbelievable - so knowledgable and passionate. He made our trip! The facilities were also lovely! I couldn’t recommend this place more.

We had a lovely experience at Jakkalsvlei absolutely worth the scenic drive out to this farm. We reserved a 1pm seating and arrived early which meant we could enjoy a tasting at the shed. I understand the shed was opened in December which is a lovely treat, you get your tasting glass as a gift for any tasting. We did not opt for a tasting but rather a bottle of their piontage rose which was served on the lake with beautiful views. At the restaurant we did various pairings which was lovely. A stand out was their MCC we ordered a bottle for the table. The hostess was friendly and set up the table for us as our friends were celebrating their anniversary this was a special touch thank you! We enjoyed the food; recommend calamari starter and lamb shank for mains. We also ordered the pork belly and fillet chicken too which was lovely. We had a lovely afternoon! Tip: The bar downstairs only offers drinks per bottle not per glass. We love the tent downstairs, great atmosphere.

Beautiful location surrounded by mountains and fresh air. Several types of wine tasting pairings to choose from, so you could stay all day! Lovely food too and attentive service.

Jakkalsvlei Jakkalsvlei nestled about 50km outside Mosselbay next to the Outeniqua Mountains, Garden Route (Herbertsdale area) Surrounded by vineyards and spectacular views. We enjoyed a variety of wine pairing with exceptional service. The food was tasty, flavorful and delicious. This is a "hidden gem" and should not be missed out upon.

We popped into Jakkalsvlei on a rainy 1 November without a booking and were welcomed so warmly by the friendly staff and a cozy kaggelvuur! The restaurant was packed, but we were happy to sit at the wine tasting bar where Riaan looked after us. He was absolutely fantastic — funny, knowledgeable, and full of great stories about the wines, the Jakkalsvlei farm, and the Mossel Bay area. He really made our wine tasting memorable and gave us such a great Jakkalsvlei experience! The tasting options are excellent, the wines are superb, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. The drive to the farm is also beautiful. We’ll definitely be back soon! 🍷

5/5 Stars - A Must-Visit for History and Art Lovers! The Diaz Museum in Mossel Bay is an absolute gem! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I was particularly captivated by the impressive collection of paintings and the intricately detailed ship models, which truly bring the history of maritime exploration to life. It's a wonderful place to spend a few hours immersing yourself in the rich heritage of the region. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an engaging and informative experience, especially if you appreciate art and historical artifacts!

It was fantastic. Loved the curio shop. The history and the well maintained Aquarium. Overall a wonderful experience after many years. Kids also loved it.

We visited the Bartolomeu Dias Museum in Mossel Bay and really enjoyed it. The grounds are spacious and beautifully maintained, and the exhibits are well presented. We especially loved the shell museum and the life-size replica of Dias’s caravel — both are fascinating and worth seeing. The museum offers a great mix of history and natural beauty, and it’s easy to spend a few relaxing hours exploring. The only small downside was that the ladies’ bathroom didn’t have toilet paper, but otherwise everything was excellent. Definitely worth a stop if you’re travelling the Garden Route — a well-run and interesting museum with lots to see and learn.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this museum. From the outside, it looks quite unassuming, but there’s so much more than meets the eye. Inside, everything is neat, well-maintained, and thoughtfully presented. The maritime museum is packed with fascinating information, and the shell museum was an unexpected highlight—with a fun mix of aquarium exhibits and display cases showcasing an incredible variety of shells. A great experience overall!

The Diaz Museum is situated at Mossel Bay, great collection and very rich in history. If you like the history, this is place you must visit.

Enjoyed our visit to the museum! Lots of information available, however feel this a opportunity missed. There are so much more that can be done to make the museum more interactive and maybe add a “show” factor to it. It is a stage screaming for a production and the facilities are there, it should just be made use of! But overall a great visit for history lovers!

It’s a beautiful hike. Definitely best to do it at spring low tide. There are plenty rocks to navigate. I wouldn’t suggest doing it barefoot. The rock pools are amazing. The water was crystal clear. One beach is covered with the most gorgeous pebbles. Not suited for young kids.

Beautiful coastal hike along stunning cliffs! Follow the little white bird drawn on the rocks along the path. My partner and I started at the lighthouse in Mosselbay, ended at the pinnacle golf estate club house and took a taxi back. It took us ~3hrs. Apple Watches recorded ~10km. Important: Towards the end of the hike you will have to cross through the golf estate. It’s fenced in but they let hikers pass before 4pm. Make sure to be there on time, otherwise you’ll have to hike back … Make sure to wear appropriate shoes, sunscreen and a hat. Also, keep an eye out for dolphins!

Beautiful hiking trail! Stunning view! Gorgeous cliffs and caves and rocky coast line. Path is not very tough. You can easily hike. Even my 4yrs old daughter hiked with my help.

We did the full 13.5 km starting at Dana Bay. It’s easier to get a taxi from Mossel Bay than to get a taxi to pick you up in Dana Bay, so start your hike in Dana Bay and hike towards Mossel. Do the whole trail or part of it, but don’t miss this hike if you’re in the area. It’s amazing and one of the most beautiful trails in her world!

What an incredible scenery. Really worth the hike. Take enough water. Clearly marked with bird sign. Once you are at the security gate you will enter the golf estate and will sign in. It is 9km all the way to the pinnacle clubhouse if you start at the light house. The trail really got scary at pinnacle point when we had to walk on the edge of the cliff. We also had to duck and dive for the golf balls. Some of the bridges steps are broken and not attended to. We also did not see alot of bird signs while going in the estate. The clubhouse offered ice cold drinks, which was lovely. We got a bolt to take us back to the hotel.

An amazing hiking trail with spectacular views of the wild ocean. It is a 13.5km hike between Mossel Bay point to Dana Bay which takes around 5 hours to complete. There are some climbing and uphill areas with a total elevation gain of 425 meters. The trail was mostly well marked. There are no shade so recommend to do the hike early morning or on cloudy days. Loved the experience and will definitely do it again.

I only did a small part of the hike near the lighthouse which is close to the town and parking lot. It’s a nice trail with cute little rabbit like animals along the trail. There is also a cave at this part of the trail introducing some history. You can also see the zip lining here.

We had a great time on the tour. Our guide shared lots of interesting information about ostrich farming and made sure we were having fun. We also had the chance to feed them and play with baby ostriches. There’s also a restaurant serving ostrich dishes and a nice souvenir shop.

What a great experience! From the moment we arrived, we were greated with welcoming smiles and excellent service. Tour is very interesting - we thought we knew about ostriches but there was so much we learnt! Our guide, Hermes, was very knowledgeable and entertaining, and took the time to ensure everyone got an opportunity to capture unique photos or videos. Easy walking, safe parking, lovely spot to have a drink under the trees before the tour and an interesting gift shop to finish off afterwards. Great value for money - would highly recommend (and not just for international visitors). Thank you so much for an awesome time!

As a bird lover it was a very special highlight to get a tour on this beautiful show farm. Jonathan was absolutely amazing and gave us detailed information with a big sense of humor and rare inside information. The tour was well organized and to interact with these big beautiful animals was absolutely fantastic.

If you like ostriches, go there! Samantha was our guide and she was really good in explaining everything and making the tour interactive rather than just talking. Great farm!

The tour was informative and well-organized by Samuel and seeing the birds up close was a unique experience. However, I expected a bit more in terms of interactivity or size. Still, worth a stop if you’re in the area and curious about these fascinating animals.

Nice experience. We get a guided tour of the farm in a tractor trailer , while the guide gave us explanations about ostriches. There is a big space where the birds are sitting, a small exchibition and a shop and a restaurant where we ordered ostrich stake. There is a big parking place, in the yard. There is a schedule of groups visits. You can buy food in the shop and feed the ostriches directly from the car.

I became fascinated by ostriches after seeing them on the roadside during a previous trip to Botswana, so when we were driving the Garden Route we made a small detour to visit Safari Ostrich Farm. We went on a tractor tour led by a friendly, outgoing guide who made the experience fun and informative. Afterwards, we got to feed the ostriches and learned more about them. The shop was also really good, with plenty of unique and interesting souvenirs. The manager/owner of the farm was incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially when our transport was delayed - something we were very grateful for.

Great place to see, feed and learn all about ostriches. Partly walking partly on the back of a tractor trailor. Knowledgeable staff and well organised tour. But use up your feed ( which you can buy for 5 rand) on the tractor your. The ostriches will come up to you to eat, very messily. Great opportunity for photo or videos up closer. Great information about ostriches which I won't spoil here, but you will be surprised and even amazed. Just could do with a bit more guidance for guests in how and when to use the feed.

Enjoyable and informative tour to Safari Ostrich Farm. Didn't know a lot about Ostrichs but after the guided tractor tour into the paddock and museum with Bronwin we came out knowing a lot more. Make no mistake, Ostrichs are HUGE! Only when they run up to the tractor and tower over you do you get an idea of their size. They are inquisitive birds but feed them at your own risk! I bought a bucket of food for R5 and they came running to eat. Their coordination isnt so great and in their frenzy one bit my thumb (im ok), food went everywhere and another snatched the bucket by the handle and out of the tractor it went. We drove slowly through various paddocks then got out to walk and see emus and ostriches from the safety of behind fences. We finished up in a museum showing various anatomy displays, incubators, leather and feather making processes. Bronwin was great! He had a very easy listening voice and was very knowledgable. There is a large giftshop onsite selling a wide variety of goods including ostrich leather articles, painted eggs, egg lights etc. The cafe onsite has light meals and ostrich biltong for sale. We spent 4 wonderful days on the farm. The accommodation was excellent. Beautifully appointed cottage. Good quality linen and a very comfortable bed. The food we ate at the Red Shed Restaurant was excellent. There are so many activities to do on the farm. What a pleasure to visit such a well organized and pristine farm. We can't wait to return. An absolute gem!!

We had a lovely time with our two grandsons. Lots of fun things for them to do. The garden is beautiful and the service at the restaurant was very good. The food was good value for money. It is well worth visiting this gorgeous venue.

I attended the berry festival in October and had the best time! Irresistible craft market, the largest hedge maze in Southern hemisphere (was a dream come true) and of course, fresh strawberries and exceptionally yummy food all round. Lots of activities for kids, young and old, albeit the individual ticket prices can add up fast. Ample parking, but unfortunately someone in our party had their car hit-and-run and the parking attendants and organisers were dismissive.

If you ever visit George, you need to visit the Redberry farm. There's so much activities for the kids to do, such as a great Maze trail, train rides, picking strawberries and so much more as well as opportunities for adults to unwind and enjoy themselves too. There's a variety of Restaurant options with their own unique menu's and drinks to choose from

Awesome place to take the kids, pick some strawberries and ride on the mini train and bumper boats. Lots of awesome food options. An On the move office is also quite nice.

We never stayed there,but popped in for some strawberries and visited the shop which had so many nice goodies to purchase! Definitely a place to spend some time. Many things to do for the kids and adults.

Farm where you buy a plastic pot and head to pick strawberries, a kind lady will measure the amount of strawberries where you can wash and eat directly. Gift shop where you can buy clothes or cups. Small area for kids to feed rabbits and hamsters. A restaurant with strawberries dishes. A shop to buy farm products and food. A beautiful place to spend a lovely time.

The shape of land is interesting. You need to pass gravel road at the final section but very easy road. There are not many people here. To me, the place for paragliding was much better. It is just in front of Map of Africa and the view is great! But that site is private property. When I went there, the gate was open. But need to check it

Views are the same as the rest of the places I visited, so is it worth the drive and the time? I would personally say no. There is a lady who is there as an unofficial commentator expecting tips.

Really beautiful sight to enjoy the freedom of picturing the Map of Africa or a crocodile head. Well worth the drive to this viewpoint. And not far from it, paragliding on your own or with an instructor.

Gorgeous views. I couldn’t see the map everyone is talking about, must be my lack of imagination. Nonetheless, absolutely gorgeous views. Fun to watch paragliders take off with beautiful ocean views on the other side of the hill.

Got there around 16:30 as the last people were leaving. Wish we could've stayed longer but there was a dodgy character hanging around that kept approaching us. Despite that, the view is breathtaking. Best advice would be to go in a group.

Stunning views of the forest and mountains. On the other hand, you get the ocean view. Best of both worlds. It's free. However, you drive a bit on gravel road for a few km.

Beautiful views and did paragliding

We liked to hike in here. The path was well maintained. But it was crowded and we had to pay a big entrance fee. We like to contribute, but it was overpriced. Robben berg is so much cheaper. And in the george Mountains, it's even free with many more opportunities.

Great experience, fresh air walks with the kids, the trail is beautiful, well seen walk way, slippery parts especially crossing over the streams so definitely need good shoes going on this. Overall the family time spend and nature explored is well worth it. And the waterfall a definite must see.

Very nice accesible walk under the tree canopies. Long sections have a boardwalk. Lovely sightings of birds.

Beautiful forest untouched and unkempt...a bit too unkept.. The benches and walkways looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks

The place is very well organized. Very beautiful. However, not much activity to do but you can enjoy a good picnic there. Very clean toilet. we did the boat riding, and the most thing that I appreciate is that they were very considering and flexible to our accommodate out request of having a short ride for 40 minutes instead of one hour and half and they gave us a reasonable discounted price. We enjoyed the boat trip very much.

The waterfall area is beautiful, with many large pools perfect for swimming in the heat! The hike concludes with quite a lengthily boardwalk in the trees which is great for spotting birds at eye level and generally getting a nice viewpoint down to the river. The “hike” (more of a walk really) was really easy and I would recommend it to people of all ages and abilities. The only reason it got 4/5 stars is the sheer amount of litter around the waterfall. (More than I could carry back in my small hiking bag)

The picnic spots. The toilets and the parking areas are all super clean. The views are out of this world, amazing, beautiful and awesome.

Most beautiful, spectacular pass on the N12 between the towns of Beaufort West and De Rust. The pass is a gateway that connects the Little Karoo and the Great Karoo through a gorge with a 25 km road crossing the same river 25 times in the span of the 25 km. Many picnic spot area with toilets. The biggest picnic spot is where the walkway is to a waterfall. Well worth the walk.

Magnificent mountains and well maintained road. A road trip you will never forget.

We arrived early so parking was not a problem. When walking into the market we were greeted by the delightful music and singing of a local group, authentic Cape sounds and lyrics. The stalls have high quality artisan food, produce and baked goods at affordable prices. Cash is rewarded with discounts but card machines were available at most stalls. The venue is pet friendly with lots of people walking with dogs on leashes. The food stalls provide delicious meals prepared fresh and very quickly. A definite MUST as an outing.

It's a very busy, bustling market, if you like that sort of thing. There were a lot of vendors, as well as a large selection of food stalls to choose from, although the wait times were quite long. We enjoyed a tasty sweet and sour chicken pie from one of the stalls as we walked around. Beautiful selection of freshly cut flowers, herbs and plants for sale. Loved seeing all the paragliders as well!

Wild Oats Community Farmers’ Market in Sedgefield is a delightful experience for anyone visiting the Garden Route. Well known for excellent and varied Artisan food and delicious type delicacy. The cheesecake from the garden of Aiden is truly "Simply the best" Go early and hungry.

A really fun morning with so much to see taste and explore. Definitely a bit of an institution in the area and well worth adding to any trip. Plan on spending the whole morning here into the early afternoon. It’s great that the market is a no smoking no vaping zone so it’s not a chaotic eat at and it’s super dog friendly with designated areas for seating with dogs and others for no dogs. A very busy market well attended but not overcrowded at all and easy to find a spot to eat. We particularly liked the stall holders listing of what they were about with badges depicting if they were local or if the producer was at the stall etc… Well worth supporting m!

The Featherbed Eco walk with lunch did not disappoint. Even the overcast weather couldn’t put a damper on the afternoon. It starts with a 20min boat ride across the beautiful Knysna Estuary with interesting and entertaining commentary provided by our guide - Colin. The buffet lunch at the Featherbed restaurant was delicious with a full selection of meats, veggies, salads and deserts - drinks are not included (no cash accepted). We were shuttled up to the top of the reserve with a 60-70 min walk down to the cave (time depends on how many times you stop to take photos, and there are so many beautiful spots) Colin our Guide was not only extremely knowledgeable on the history and nature on the reserve but was also very patient with our all girls group 😁. The views throughout the walk are breathtaking and the photos don’t do it justice. All the Featherbed staff are amazing and I highly recommend this experience if you are in Knysna. We booked online and prices vary depending on the day and season. We paid R550 per person (midweek) and ticket prices includes everything except drinks and staff tips.

Thank you to Maurice and the team for a wonderful half day out to the Nature Reserve. Lovely welcome, informative boat journey and drive followed by a wonderful walk through the reserve. We then stayed for the buffet lunch with was excellent and plentiful. One tip - take your swim stuff. There is a great little beach by the beach bar you can swim off. It isn’t mentioned in their description it well worth knowing on a sunny day!!

Beautiful 2.2 km hiking trial (easy). They take you by boat to the starting point where you meet up with a truck and the truck takes up the hill, so the hike is all downhill with spectacular views. They provide walking sticks, but the route is very easy so the sticks are not really necessary. You end with a one-hour buffet lunch. My husband enjoyed the warm calamari dish, whereas I preferred the cold calamari salad.

The most beautiful nature reserve I have ever been to!From the mainland you are taken to the reserve by the tour guide on a ferry. The lunch was amazing and the mountain top views are breathtakingly beautiful

This was absolutely amazing . The whole experience from the ferry to the buffet lunch was great. You take a ferry from the Harbour to the west head . Upon arrival you take a 4x4 trip the top of the west head stopping at a few spots for fantastic photo opportunities. Then you walk down ( 2.2km ) alongside the mountain back to the main house where you are served with a 5 star buffet lunch . The walk down is not hard at all . The entire adventure has a scenic view from start to finish and the buffet lunch was easily the best I have ever had with a big variety of food choices. I would recommend this to everyone when they visit Knysna . Definitely worth every penny ... A must do ...

This was an amazing outing and experience. The boat trip across the lake to the nature reserve, the drive up the mountain and the awesome 2.2km scenic walk back to the boat. Quick drink and food and back to the mainland. 3 to 4 hours trip. Totally worth it and we will do it again. Thanks for this awesome experience.

Incredible opportunity to interact with elephants up close. A 45 minute experience includes a short tractor ride to the elephants. You can buy a bucket of food to feed them and then pose for some photos. The guides are very friendly and helpful. It is most definitely worth a visit

We enjoyed taking this picture. It was so much fun! The elephants are majestic animals. Loved being able to feed them and take picks with them! The fact that there were washbasins to wash our hands were a nice touch! The kids immediately ran to the play park after we finished with the elephants. Well worth a visit.

What an absolutely amazing experience at Knysna Elephant Park! Truly a once in a lifetime experience getting to be up close and personal with some of Mother Nature's most beautiful and majestic creatures. My wife and I truly had a magical time getting to see, feed and walk alongside these gentle giants. Definitely a core memory for us both and one that we can't wait to share with our kids one day too. The work this park does is so important and we are glad we could be involved too. What an experience.

Knysna Elephant Park is absolutely extraordinary and you do get to walk with the elephants, we got to feed them and literally have a close-encounter. The Knysna Elephant Park (est. 1994) and is as brilliant today as it was then... Highly recommend this wonderful family park...

It was an awesome experience. When I got there, the kids were busy feeding the elephants. It was also great to see the cabins in which people can sit and watch the animals while sitting in the comfort of their cabins - especially at night when the animals are relaxed.

I had the best experience at the Park, the staff was very welcoming and helpful. Everything was done efficiently and the briefing video really simplified things. My highlight is the interaction I had with the Elephants, I will forever cherish that moment. Their restrooms were very clean. The food from the restaurant was warm, fresh and delicious. I will visit again.

It's an amazing place to visit and pretty much a must to put on a list. To see this animals up close is fantastic. Afterwards, they have a really nice cafe with an cozy open fire, nice if the weather isn't 100%.

Such beauty Incredible scenery to take in, and good birdlife. The hike is incredible, although slightly challenging in places, so make sure you're wearing decent shoes. The beach is awesome and the island is well worth a visit. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here, even if it was just for an afternoon

Great place to hike. Definitely plan to do the big hike (min. 4 hrs.). Hike is not really complicated but you have to climb over rocks so I would rate it as mid to hard. You can see (and smell) the seals and also the great scenery. One of the best hikes we did in South Africa. We also saw a lot of dolphins and a whale (unfortunately far away but you can see them). The shark watcher also said he saw a big white shark a week before our visit.

Another beautiful place which is a must visit. Got to see live and dead seals, comorants and a dead whale on the beach. Its a bit of hike and we need good shoes with proper grip to walk on slippery rocks.

One of the most beautiful short length beach trails I have seen. I grew up in South Africa bit somehow never made it here till I returned with my wife on our honeymoon and I do reregt not gisitomg this part of the country sooner. If you are in Plett, I would suggest doing this, even of only the shortest trail.

GORGEOUS views. We did the mid-sized trail and it was intense already - some difficult pieces along the way, but nothing impossible. Keep following the signs and you should have no problem. If you can, go with impermeable shoes all closed because of the sand. The seals are easy to hear and spot, but binoculars make it easier. It’s amazing, you will love it.

Amazing views!!! We did the full hike to the point saw so much beauty. I recommend you bring plenty of water and something to eat if you're going to do the long hike.

An amazing hiking trail! I would say it’s more of an intermediate-level hike, with breathtaking views along the way. The untouched, virgin beaches felt like part of a dream. My boys especially loved spending time there—they even created a fun character called “PEPE”, complete with multiple defense systems to protect him from the wild, crashing waves. It was such a memorable and adventurous experience!

Loved Birds of Eden! We were taken around by 20 year veteran guide Eric. The aviary is enormous and the birds truly live in paradise. They can freely fly, have plenty of space and water, seed and fruit buffets setup for them in many places. Our tour lasted just over an hour. The landscaping is stunning, so much greenery, a waterfall, suspension bridge. We saw many species of bird including natives to South Africa - my favourite being the Turaco. My all time favourites the Macaw were also there in blue and yellow and scarlet varieties were also here. Flamingoes, scarlet ibis, geese, egrets, lovebirds - all here. You can buy a bird identification book at the gift shop for only R20. The birds you see on your visit will vary because the aviary is so huge. Reminded me a lot of KL Bird Park in Malaysia - all Birds of Eden is a lot more expensive. I wish we could have had lunch at the cafe overlooking the lake but our visit was very early in the morning. Bonus - resident cat that lives in the female bathrooms.

The most incredible experience we've had in South Africa so far! Give yourself AT LEAST two hours to walk through and be amazed. I can't say enough about it: here's a few thousand more words, in pictures! Many of the birds are so accustomed to this no-touch sanctuary that they feel completely comfortable posing for close-up photos. Unforgettable!

The overall experience was great.. Happy to have supported this institute. My only dissapoint was that they were not stocked with their booklets that describe the bird species they had.

This is our second visit to Birds of Eden. Of all the sanctuaries near Plett, this one is very special to me. Something about the large dome enclosure, the variety of birds and the lush greenery made for a calming nature experience. We will be back again.

Place is a paradise of tranquility & a must visit when in the area for exotic & normal bird/nature watchers/lovers. Even though a part was under construction, it was still wonderful to get to see all sorts of birds & moving between them. The staff was very friendly. Will most definately visit it again.

Birds of Eden was an unforgettable highlight of our trip! The aviary is enormous, with well-maintained and comfortable walkways that wind beautifully through the trees. Along the way, we were treated to some stunning views and an incredible variety of fascinating birds. This isn't a place to rush through—it's best enjoyed at a leisurely pace, allowing time to wander slowly, observe, and appreciate the birds in their naturalistic habitat. Highly recommended!

Tenikwa is a excellent place for family bring kids to visit. My little girl really enjoyed to vist Tenikwa. Tenikwa is a non- profit wildlife animals place, there is a wildlife hospital to rescued so many animals, and also adopted some of them if they are not suitable to live at wild anymore. The tour guider is really nice and to introduce all animals to our family, and educating kids how to save the environment.

Tenikwa Wildlife Rehabilitation & Awareness Centre is a truly remarkable place that highlights the humane and compassionate side of wildlife conservation. It provides care for animals that can no longer survive in the wild, such as lions, cheetahs, and other endangered species. Injured animals are treated and, if possible, released back into their natural habitat. Those that cannot return to the wild are given a safe and supportive environment within the center. One of the most impressive aspects of Tenikwa is how close visitors can get to the animals, all under the guidance of knowledgeable and passionate guides. We were fortunate to be accompanied by Davison, who made the experience truly exceptional. Even better, our visit happened to coincide with feeding time, so we got to witness cheetahs and other wild cats being fed—a rare and unforgettable sight. By purchasing a ticket, you’re not just enjoying a unique experience—you’re also directly supporting the center’s mission to care for and protect wildlife. It’s an experience that combines education, conservation, and awe-inspiring encounters with nature. A visit to Tenikwa is absolutely worth it.

Our entire experience at Tenikwa Wildlife Centre was amazing. From arrival to departure, we were made to feel welcome and felt that the friendly staff went out of their way to make our experience feel memorable. Sleeping in the self catering eco-cabin amongst gorgeous fynbos, just meters away from the lions, was the most wonderful unforgettable experience. We felt their presence the entire time - even in the middle of the night, when they blessed us with their goosebump-generating roars! We so enjoyed unwinding on the little porch, having a cup of coffee in the morning listening to the birds, or enjoying a glass of wine in the evening, just taking in the night time sounds and experience, and reconnecting with nature. Be prepared for an early morning wake up call from the lions – no need for an alarm clock! You’ll want to record their gorgeous guttural sound – it’s a really humbling experience to experience up close. How wonderful to be able to see the Lions from every angle. Just being in their presence was the most incredible experience we have ever had. Kuluma and Mkulu sat and “chatted” with us up close and personal at the fence a few times – and having never been so close to Lions before, this was quite a soul-stirring experience. They really are just spectacularly beautiful. The guided tour around the sanctuary was fantastic. Our beautiful photographs will be treasured. Zwelakhe the Leopard was a gorgeous model, and we have captured stunning mischievous Meerkat moments. All staff were super professional, yet laid back enough to make you feel so welcomed and relaxed. We travel and adventure often in our beautiful country, and were struck by how much the staff at this centre genuinely love their animals, telling us little stories of their antics, and sharing their personality traits and quirks with us. The sanctuary itself is so beautifully maintained and most importantly all the animals had ample space and they looked really healthy and happy. This sanctuary was developed to treat and home (if absolutely necessary) rescued wild animals that have been injured or for other reasons are unable to survive on their own in the wild. We were shocked to hear that Tenikwa often deals with over 200 injured animals a month in their animal hospital. It is an absolute credit to the amazing owners that they have dedicated their lives to this worthy work. Knowing that our booking contributes in some small way to this important cause, I could not recommend it any higher. We didn’t have tine to indulge in the Spa treatments on offer at the facility, but took a tour of the Spa centre – and will make sure we include this in our itinerary next time. If you haven’t put Tenikwa Wildlife Sanctuary on your bucket list yet, we recommend that you do.

If there’s one place on this holiday that truly moved me, it was the Tenikwa Rehabilitation and Awareness Centre. From the moment we arrived, it was clear just how deeply Mandy, Len, Keri, Alex and their team care for every animal they look after. Their dedication isn’t just something you see — you feel it. We weren’t able to see the animals currently being rehabilitated, as they wisely limit human contact, but that only made the experience more meaningful. We were privileged to meet the lions, cheetahs and the many other varieties of wild cats who, for various reasons, cannot return to the wild. And it wasn’t just the big cats — the sanctuary is also home to an incredible range of other animals, including meerkats, penguins, tortoises and a huge variety of birdlife. Being surrounded by so much life and hearing each animal’s story was deeply humbling. We were shown around by Msizi and Zama, whose knowledge, warmth and respect for the animals added so much depth to the experience. Our stay was just as special. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and wonderfully comfortable. Spending a night in one of the lion cabins was an experience I’ll carry with me forever — drifting off to sleep with the sounds of the sanctuary around us felt truly magical. Breakfast the next morning, prepared by Precious and Davidson, was made to order, beautifully cooked, and such a great start to the day. A recent addition to Tenikwa is their wellness centre, where we enjoyed a fabulous massage by Josephine — a perfect way to unwind. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this remarkable non-profit organisation. It will touch your heart, and our support helps sustain the extraordinary, compassionate work they do for some of the world’s most vulnerable animals.

A wonderful, informative and transparent wildlife sanctuary. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and the grounds are very well kept! We left with new insight into the work that goes into conservation, and the meaning behind a TRUE wildlife sanctuary. Their motto rings true: “Come with an Open Mind, Tread with a Lighter Step, Leave with a Change of Heart”... A worthy cause to support when in the area.

Nature's Valley Rest Camp offers a truly serene escape into nature, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The lush surroundings, peaceful atmosphere, and proximity to stunning trails and beaches made it a perfect getaway. The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience. While we loved the camp, a few areas could benefit from some maintenance to enhance the overall experience. However, this did not detract from the charm and tranquility of the place. We look forward to returning and seeing how this hidden gem continues to improve!

We stayed at the electricity-included camping site. Sizes vary, but ours was large enough for a caravan, a small trailer with a rooftop tent, and 2 large vehicles. Some sites are smaller, but all are equally beautiful - deep in the bush, a little wet and cold (probably more the season than anything), but all around very nice. Bathrooms are also clean and well kept.

Camp sites are not swept clean and there is no dustbins. There is 220v connection points at some of the stands. The ablutions is fantastic and clean, there is a fully equipped kitchen with fridge and a fully equipped laundry. Lots to do with kids.

What a place for peace and quiet. I've already booked my next stay. It was raining cats and dogs the day we visited but even that was an experience worth doing again. I loved it. Waking up to the abundance of bird life, monkeys,baboons and bush buck. Definitely worth a visit. Even if its just a day visit.

We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist - Jamaima. She really went out of her way to accommodate us. Thank you. The location of our chalet were perfect. The view was simply stunning, tranquil and very romantic. Incredible birdlife. As far as the chalet is concerned. The layout with the deck is great. I think SANParks can use some of their profit to plow back into the chalets. They do need maintenance inside and outside.

I would never leave! It is quite basic but very well maintained. Staff are incredible, and the location is just gorgeous.

We camped and it was great. Toilets, laundry and wash up facilities were clean and operational. There are also fridges and freezes. As far as camping goes it was 💯

A real thrill – fast, fun and surprisingly well organized This bungee jump is a real thrill. At first you might feel like things are a bit chaotic because the team is also having a good time and the vibe feels like a party. But in the end everything is well structured and clearly organized. They double-check everything, take photos of all the safety steps and make sure you’re properly secured. The whole process goes quickly and with a relaxed energy. Before you even realize it, you’re already jumping. The actual jump is intense – especially the moment when you’re all set and just waiting to be released. That feeling stays with you. All in all, definitely something to try if you’re looking for a serious adrenaline rush. But think twice – it’s not for the faint-hearted.

The place was absolutely beautiful and the view was incredible. I couldn’t do the bungee jump because I had a really bad muscle cramp in my leg, but we sat there, watched our friends do it, and the vibes were amazing. According to all our friends who tried it, the jump is super safe and they loved every second of it. We also had coffee with an incredible view and took some really nice photos. Overall, definitely worth the visit — even if you’re not jumping!

We watched the Bloukrans Bungy from the restaurant, and it was clear that the jumpers had a fantastic time. The Bloukrans Bungee is an absolutely unforgettable experience! The team is professional, energetic, and makes you feel safe and confident every step of the way. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or just ticking something off your bucket list, this is a must-do adventure in South Africa.

My first bungy jump and I couldn’t ask for more excitement! Absolutely professional staff and they also have fun! Recommend everybody to do the zipline and hangout as well as the jump. Great price also, I would absolutely do it again!
