Mundomar is a sea-life park in Benidorm, offering a tropical-themed experience with various attractions. Visitors can enjoy dolphin shows, swim with sea lions, and interact with meerkats and monkeys. The park provides an opportunity to get up close to marine animals like dolphins and seals without the need for an expensive cruise. Mundomar also features entertaining shows and a glass bottom boat ride for a memorable experience.
We've visited this park more times and it's always nice to visit. Bit small, but you can definitely spend a few hours here. Today we booked the delphin encounter which was great! We swam with the dolphins and it was such a great experience!
Angela L — Google review
Amazing place. Definitely recommend to visit with children before 10-12 years. Beatiful shows. You can do pictures together with sea lion, dolphin, parrot, lemur. The park has beautiful territory and zoo. There are few restaurants on the park.
Vika E — Google review
What a special place. So much fun! Negatives, its a little pricey, and they dont have a vast amount of animals. The pros, wow, the shows are phenomenal, especially the dolphin show. Amazing, just amazing. Yes its pricey, but honestly the shows itself make it worth it! Get over there. €20 cash or €17 (paid online) to touch a dolphin and have a photo (included) is such amazing value. You wont find better. So while its not a cheap day out, it's 100% worth it, and id go back again, and again.
Simon H — Google review
Nice animal Park got discounted tickets so went with family. The dolphin and sea lion show were amazing definitely recommend going and seeing them. At the top. Is a great view of aqualandia which is right next door. Overall a good place to visit with family.
Aidan05 — Google review
Pretty cool. We did combine tickets with Aqualandia. So we visited this place in the morning. We arrived about half past 10 which gave us time to look around and the watch the parrot show. Which was very informative. 2 of the parrots did not listen to the trainers and decided they were staying out just jumping on the rope. After that we headed to the sea lion show to watch some very happy sea lions and then the dolphin show, which has 8 dolphins doing tricks. The place is small so wouldn't recommend spending the whole day there as you can watch all the shows and see all the other animals in around 3 hours. Prices for photos with animals is around €20 euros I recommended paying for these before you enter the park.
Alyson S — Google review
In my opinion, Mundomar a bit too pricey, compared to Oceanografic in Valencia. However, dolphins did an amazing job performing, the instructors are great. Stunning view from the top! I liked it
Maria K — Google review
It was a good day plenty to see and great shows. But don't bother with getting the VIP TOUR as you are unable to take Photos as they block you and say only me.The photographer was a bit rude and right in my face as I attempted to get a photo.
Graham L — Google review
A great day was had by the whole family. The animals were amazing, well worth going to the shows, birds, sealion, and dolphin. There are other experiences which we didn't do this time. We purchased the combo ticket for mundomar and aqualandia, which was a good saving.

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Aqualandia, located in Benidorm, Costa Blanca, Spain, is a sprawling outdoor water park offering an array of slides and games suitable for visitors of all ages. The park features fast water slides, swimming pools, rapids, giant waterfalls, and shallow pools for young children. Additionally, it includes various dining options, shops, and relaxation areas for sunbathing. Aqualandia is the perfect destination to beat the summer heat with its diverse attractions and amenities.
I would give this water park in Benidorm more than five stars. It is simply SENSATIONAL! To be honest, I didn’t have the courage to try all the rides, especially the waterslide VERTIGO, but it’s incredibly fun to watch the brave ones make their descent. The park is huge, offering a wide variety of food and drink options. There are also lockers available for €7 per day, which is really convenient. Not to mention the numerous picnic areas that make it easy to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Without a doubt, this is one of the best-structured water parks I’ve ever visited.
Tatiana L — Google review
A brilliant day out for the whole family. We have two boys aged 6 and 7 and they both had an amazing time. We brought our own packed lunch after reading other reviews as the food in the park didn’t seem like the best option, and this turned out to be a smart decision as there are plenty of picnic areas available. We booked our tickets online which cost £109 for the four of us. On arrival, we rented a large locker for €10 (smaller ones are €7). They give you a PIN code printed on a receipt which is a bit odd, as it means you have to go into the water with a piece of paper to remember your code. It would make more sense if you could set your own code. We also paid for two sunbeds at €7 each and the inflatable ring floats came at an extra cost too. This felt like a bit of a rip off, as items like floats and sunbeds should really be included in the ticket price. This is the main reason we’ve given 4 stars instead of 5. That said, the park itself is spotless and very well maintained. The lifeguards, although quite young, did a fantastic job and we felt very safe letting the boys explore nearby. The children’s area is the best I’ve seen in any water park as it has a full section with obstacle courses, smaller slides and jumping platforms. We would definitely visit again for another family day out.
ADG — Google review
Great day out with the Grand kids here. Take your own drinks and food as the kiosk prices inside are a little hard on the wallet (€3.75) for a 1.5 ltr water that you can pick up for about 60 cents in the supermarket. €5.40 for a beer 🍺. Apart from that, it's a lovely park that kept the boys busy all day.
Andy M — Google review
We visited on a Friday in August so was very busy as expected. However we found the park to be clean, well organised and we all had great fun, dragging the kids away after about 7 hours. Queues for some slides were 15-20 mins but plenty of shade and well mannered. Didn’t attempt to get a sun bed or picnic bench (which looked like you needed to be there early to get) - just sat on a towel on the grass which was fine. Lifeguards very professional and kept good order.
Alex B — Google review
It was too crowded for me, even though we visited on a Wednesday. However, the kids had a lot of fun, which is the most important thing! We will come back! Food was available at affordable prices. What surprised me was that the lockers and lounges required payment.
Pawel L — Google review
Aqualandia in Benidorm is a great place and an absolute hit with kids—plenty of rides, pools, and attractions to keep the whole family entertained. The park is clean and well maintained, and overall it’s a fun experience for both children and adults. That said, the downside in high season is the waiting times. Some rides had queues of up to 90 minutes, which meant that even though we spent the whole day there, we couldn’t try everything we wanted. On-site food is also very expensive—for example, a gofre with just one scoop of ice cream was over €7. Security lockers cost €7, and hiring a large inflatable wheel is €8 plus a €2 deposit (though this does give you an advantage on Rapidos, where you can skip the queue). Overall, it’s still a great experience and the kids loved it, but the long waiting times and high prices take away from what could otherwise be a perfect day out.
Jaro — Google review
Visited on: Friday, 29th August 2025 Such a great waterpark! The Rapids are especially good! I highly recommend. The “Black Hole” too is fun. ⚠️ SENSORY NEEDS: This ride is dark and may not be suitable for those with SN. For Food, I recommended the Snack Bar - see my other review for additional, and full details.

The place is big and theres plenty of rides and pools ! Very chill vibes although the food can always be better. Still a great time !

Platja de Llevant

Mentioned on

Beach
Outdoor Activities
Platja de Llevant is an urban public beach in Benidorm, known for its recreational waters, lifeguards, showers, lounge chairs, and volleyball nets. Despite not having the quaint charm of a secluded cove, it is a beloved Blue Flag bay with golden shores and crystal-clear waters. This popular beach offers a bustling atmosphere and stunning views of the Mediterranean sea. During peak season, it can get crowded as visitors flock to enjoy the gentle waves and clean sandy shores.
Very clean, well maintained, public sandy beach. It felt safe, and people were civilized. Great background with the tall buildings in the back. There are plenty of restaurants on the shoreside. There are plenty of sunbeds to rent. Lifeguards on watch. The water is not too steep.
CJ — Google review
Levante beach was simply beautiful. It is well maintained, clean and safe. Sunbeds can be rented for only 6 euro for the day. Excellent place to relax.
Vin C — Google review
Lovely beach but very busy. Chairs and umbrellas €6 each, you just sit down and someone comes round to pay. Close to shops you have people walking up and down selling cocktails and offering massages. A place with taps to wash the sand off your feet. A warning women do walk around and lounge top less if this offends anyone.
Mel — Google review
A great beach. However, it is rather populated with many tourists and locals making it rather busy. You can hire a sun-bed at only €12 overlooking the Mediterranean, turquoise, yet quite transparent sea. 🌊
Awardedcat Y — Google review
I visited Platja de Llevant in Benidorm at the end of December, and the weather was surprisingly warm, not hot enough for a swim, but perfect to enjoy the sun and a long walk by the sea. The sky was clear, the water shimmered in deep blue tones, and the whole promenade was lively even in winter. Historically, Platja de Llevant has been one of the main symbols of Benidorm’s transformation. In the 1950s, this small fishing village began turning into one of Europe’s most famous seaside resorts, and this beach became the heart of that change, lined with hotels, cafés, and palm trees that still define the skyline today.
Patrizia P — Google review
The beach is absolutely stunning, with its picturesque scenery that instantly captivates anyone who visits. The golden sand is soft and inviting, creating a perfect contrast against the deep blue sky. The ocean itself is crystal clear, reflecting the sunlight in shimmering patterns that dance across the water. The waves are gentle and soothing, making the beach a tranquil spot to relax and enjoy nature’s beauty. One of the highlights of this beach is the remarkably clean water. It’s so clear that you can see the seabed even from the shore, with fish occasionally visible as they swim by. The cleanliness of the water makes it perfect for swimming, wading, or just floating on the surface, letting the gentle waves carry you. In addition to the natural beauty, the beach offers convenient amenities like chair and sun umbrella rentals. This allows you to fully enjoy your time there without having to bring your own gear. You can easily rent a comfortable chair and a large umbrella to provide shade, making your day at the beach even more relaxing. Overall, the combination of breathtaking beauty and thoughtful conveniences makes this beach a perfect getaway.
Daniel E — Google review
Great Beach Fantastic beach very famous worldwide, the view on the buildings is incredible. Not the beach has all the expected amenities & lots of shops, cafes & restaurants around. The water is also really nice and this is what made this beach so fabulous.

My Days in Benidorm 🥰 🌸❣️ It was August, and Benidorm welcomed us with 41-degree weather 🥵. What wonderful days we had at the beach, strolling through its streets, trying out restaurants, watching the sunrise, or walking at night while enjoying the nightlife. We’d wake up early to enjoy the sea and walk along the sand. Each day was unique and amazing! Creating human connections, observing and learning about their lifestyle and culture made the experience even more enriching.

Ascensor del Castillo de Santa Bárbara

Mentioned on
2 lists
Castle
Sights & Landmarks
The Ascensor del Castillo de Santa Bárbara in Alicante is a fantastic way to reach the historic fortress without the strenuous climb. This smooth and quick elevator ride transports visitors directly to the summit of Mount Benacantil, where they are greeted with stunning panoramic views of Alicante's cityscape, coastline, and the shimmering Mediterranean Sea. The experience is not only scenic but also budget-friendly, as accessing both the castle and elevator is free.
A great trip to the top of the castle, with the most amazing views. Cafe and toilets. You may have to queue for the lift up to castle, but it’s well worth the wait. Price for entry was €2.70 ish, but we got in free as ‘seniors’!! There seemed to be less queues to go down in the lift at the Castle level, as I think most people took a toilet break (level 2) so queues were longer there.
Sheila W — Google review
Absolutely brilliant place to spend a couple of hours. It's free to access but if you want to use the lift it cost €2.70 (can only pay by card). A few refreshment areas within the castle selling drinks and ice cream. Well worth a visit!
James H — Google review
You have the option to go up the castle via the side walk (not very hard but neither easy) or take the lift (you need a ticket). If you go up via the park you can go down without the need to buying a ticket - pretty convenient. The lift is the best option for a hot or rainy day, or with limited mobility.
David K — Google review
When visiting Alicante, it is essential to set aside half a day to explore this castle, and all its history, which is rich and varied. You will have the opportunity for an incredibly beautiful view of the city and the sea. We recommend from the bottom of our hearts.
Bogdan L — Google review
When I visited Alicante, I’m so glad I took the time to explore this castle, it was honestly one of the highlights of my trip. The history is so rich and interesting, and walking through the different areas really makes you feel connected to the past. The views from the top are absolutely stunning; seeing the whole city and the sea from up there felt amazing. I truly recommend setting aside at least half a day for it. From my heart, this is a place you don’t want to miss.
Melek M — Google review
The elevator up to Castille de Santa Barbara is access from the beach side. Cross the road towards the castle and you will see the entrance. The cost of the elevator is only a few euros per person well worth the spend. Take the elevator up, then do yourself a favor, and walk down through the tiny Pueblo (village) Barrio de Santa Cruz.
Sean R — Google review
Fantastic views across the city of Alicante. Get there just before sunset to watch it setting in the West. We visited for a Wine tasting session in the evening, very popular so need to book well in advance.

Nice, huge beach. Big disappointment that you have to take own sunbeds and sunbrellas.
Mika S — Google review
I personally didnt have a nice experience there. When we went there were a lot of seaweed washed up on shore and I could not enjoy the beach as much as I wanted. I might reconsider my opinion if I visit on another day, however it was a nightmare to step on the seaweed. It is a fine sandy beach, but it is overcrowded. I would not recommend it to people who dislike crowds. There are toilets and also foot washing devices.

Really enjoyed La Mata. We visited on a Wednesday and the market was on. It was huge. Struggled to get parked but once we did we stayed & had a fabulous day. Will definitely return.

My favourite beach in the region so far with little algae and lots of sand, it’s pleasant to swim there. But it is crowded in the summer and very difficult to park there even though it’s free

Pros: Good beach - long and wide. Clean, sandy. There is a nice park neighbouring the beach. A lot of cafe and restaurants close to the beach. Cons: No showers at all (( Not enough toilets and dressing rooms. Comparably crowded even in the end of May! I can't imagine what will be in the high season (July).

The hotel was chosen for its close proximity to the Teatro and the rooms set amidst a beautiful garden. We booked a Junior Suite which was a lovely stroll amongst the greenery. Extremely clean big bedroom with big bed, big tv and a big spa bath in the big bathroom. All staff were happy and helpful and cheerful. Breakfast was very good. Plenty for 4 courses if you're that way inclined! We didn't use the restaurant as we ate out but the bar and bar staff were good too. Excellent (yes) 'big' pool area adorned with lovely twinkling lights for the evening.

What a beautiful botanic garden set in the middle of Elche. All the specimen plants and trees were very well labelled. Admission is about 5 euros with a slight discount for pensioners. The only negative is the availability of parking resulting in circling the narrow streets of Elche several times. There is a large underground parking about 300 mtrs away but there is a hotel with the same name much closer that would b much closer

Tranquil, picturesque place with lots of palms from around the world, quite a variety of cacti, peacocks walking around, water features. All creates an atmosphere of joy, peace and tranquility. We love feeding peacocks as there is a special food available to buy next to the exit.

Beautiful park full of palm trees — a lovely place to visit if you’re in Elche. Peaceful, green, and perfect for a relaxing walk. 🌴

Beautifull park. Smaller that I expected but really well maintained.
Jeroen H — Google review
This place is really special, unfortunately I only had 20 minutes here but could have spent hours strolling around. They have some amazing different palm trees, plants & all sorts of other species. There's also some cool peacocks around! It was around 6 euros to get in but truly worth it. If you like to take photos of those types of thing, you'd struggle to find somewhere better!

Faro Cabo de Palos, first illuminated in January 1865, stands as a majestic beacon along the coastline, visible from up to 24 miles away. This impressive lighthouse not only boasts a rich history but also offers breathtaking views that reward those who make the climb to its heights. Nestled in stunning surroundings, visitors can explore charming coves nearby that are perfect for relaxation and dreaming by the sea.
For the best views of Cabo de Palos and La Manga visit here! A great viewpoint. Be careful in February / March with your dog as they’re many caterpillars!

Awesome place to visit. Clear water beach, not crowded, parking is a bit tough though. Great for kayaking and snorkeling too.
Andrey G — Google review
We did the tour so we could go all the way up in the light house. It's a 6 Euro admission p.p and takes approximately 30-40 minutes. The stairs are very narrow so you go up in single file. The tour guide speaks about the history of the light house and you get a good sense of when and how it was build. The tour is in Spanish so if you want to follow you need some basic knowledge of the Spanish language. The 360 view is stunning and you can see all round. All together a nice piece of history from the region.

Our guide Emma was great. She gave us a lot of interesting information about the lighthouse, the surrounding area, and local history. Her commentary was in spanish and English. She would answer any questions and give extra information. The lighthouse itself was easily worth the €6. The views from the top were lovely. 30 minutes long and only 10 guests was perfect.

Very nice place. Very nice beaches and places to dive and snorkel is amazing close to the Faro. Videos YouTube: Norwegian Viking in Spain.⛵️

Stunning views.... And the lighthouse in amazing condition.... Sadly you don't just go for a walk around But still worth a visit

Nice lighthouse on the top of the hill. Beneath it small lagune. Unfortunately it's no access to the lighthouse itself, it would be nice to climb on the top. The view from nearby is amazing, Mediterranean sea in it's beauty is enormously beautiful. Also nice view to Mar Menor. Free parking. No charge for entering the area.

Calblanque Beach is a tranquil and picturesque beach located in the Calblanque Regional Park, at the eastern end of the coastline between Cabo de Palos and Portman. The park boasts diverse environments including pine forests, scrublands, sandy areas, dunes, coves, cliffs, and wetlands. Visitors can enjoy small rocky coves, pristine waters with reddish sand beaches, dunes, fossil dunes, salt flats and rocky hills.
For those who like “small” beaches, this is a great option. Remembering that in high season it is mandatory to go by bus they provide and the total return price is €3. The buses leave for 15/15 minutes. It’s worth it.

Very nice and quite beaches, where swimwear is optional. Nature meets nature, so not for people who fear others enjoying their freedom to experience this nature.
Paul S — Google review
Beautiful, quiet beach in a nature reserve. We really enjoyed our time here. The beach is clean and peaceful, with fish, crabs, and even turtles. Access is time-restricted, and there’s no cell service, which makes it a perfect place to disconnect. Parking is available, and lifeguards are on duty. No restrooms or showers, but in summer there’s usually a portable toilet on-site. Definitely worth a visit for a change of scenery!
Dmitriy G — Google review
The beach itself is rather nice and fairly few people their. I wouldn't give the sand beach 5 stars however, but the cliffs to the right of the beach was amazing! By walking 5 minutes or so we found at least 3 great spots where we could lie down on fairly smooth surface as well as being able to jump or walk into the clear blue water. No other people in sight. Went there two days in a row and will definitely return when I'm in the area in the future! The only downside is that you need to park your car 10 minutes drive from the beach, pay 3€ per person and take a bus (which leaves every 30 minutes) to get to the beach. All in all: for couples who'd like some privacy - find great cliffs to the right of the beach. For families (or others) who'd like a beach with fewer people - just pick a spot on the main beach.
Niclas L — Google review
Excellent natural beach with easy access - depending on the time of the year, it can be accessed by a shuttle or by driving directly (in the off-season). The beach is well-maintained and there are bathroom facilities not too far away. The whole area is beautiful, with a backdrop of towering hills and sand dunes. There is also a protected natural environment nearby, which is awesome for nature lovers. Easily the best beach I've been to.

It's not just a shopping destination; the venue hosts live music performances and events throughout the year, offering daily entertainment for children during the summer months. Nice shopping area that have many brand stores and much else. A plus for the very nice toilets but a minus for the restaurants (a bit pricey for what you get). Of course this is friendly to wheelchairs. There are also playgrounds for kids, they seem to love the water fountain.

Amazing shopping center that got everything you need. Open roof so you really get an amazing experience walking around the shopping center. Big name Stores and restaurants so you will definitely find something to buy. Plenty of restaurants to choose from for both lunch and dinner. They even have a playground for the kids with enough seating close by for the adults to sit down but still have a good view on their kids. You can even rent battery-powered cars for the kids to drive around the shopping center with the option for the parents to control the car with a remote.

Call out to all UK shopping centers. Visit this place to see how a shopping centre should be run. It's spotlessly clean, shops are full and not boarded up, free parking and it's packed full of shoppers. It's a great place to shop for clothes or food. Plenty of cafes and ice cream parlours, places for kids to play. Open until late in the evening for convenience after work. I've not heard a bad thing said about Zenia Shopping Centre.

Beautiful shopping centre! So clean and absolutely amazing for children, places to play at every turn. They even have little cars they can drive around to rent! Perfect for parents who want to go shopping but dread taking their kids who find it boring. Not here they won’t! 🥹

Teatro Romano de Cartagena

Mentioned on
19 lists
Historical landmark
Museums
The Roman Theater of Cartagena is a restored ancient amphitheater originally built during the reign of Emperor Augustus. With a capacity for 7,000 spectators, it has been fully restored and now features a modern museum showcasing remarkable collections and archaeological artifacts. The theater's architectural set is made even more unique by the ruins of the Old Cathedral of Cartagena, which was built over the upper seating sections in the 13th century.
There are two main ways to explore it: 1. For free – You can view most of the theatre from the upper walkway, and don’t miss the narrow alley just below, where you'll find informative panels and photos showing how the theatre was discovered and reconstructed. It’s truly fascinating and gives great historical context. 2. With a ticket – You can enter the site and explore it up close. The ticket likely includes entry to the adjacent cathedral as well. Unfortunately, during our visit, the official website (which is used to purchase tickets and check opening hours) was down, so we weren’t able to go inside. Still, we really enjoyed the visit – even just seeing the theatre from the outside and learning about its history was more than worthwhile. Small tip: If you take the path above the theatre, there’s a small park directly above with a water fountain. The water may not be drinkable, but it's great for a quick refresh on a hot day.
Petr W — Google review
This is a wonderful attraction and the main reason we drove 1 hour to Cartegena. There is an informative exhibition you walk through giving historical information on Cartagena and the Romans. You eventually come out into the Theatre and have to say it looked amazing. This was big enough to seat 7000 people so can only imagine the atmosphere it would have had back in those times. The view from there would have been terrific as well. Two adults were €8 each and 2 students at €7 each. £22.72 for a family of 4 in total. It always amazes me how much cheaper it is to visit places in Europe compared to the United Kingdom. I'm guessing there may be heavier government funding contributing but museums like this are kept immaculate and everyone visiting is very respectful of their surroundings.
Michael L — Google review
We sailed in on the Star Princess. Had a tour through Princess. Amazing museum and ancient ruins. We had the place to our tour group. A few folk were there before and after who were on their own. It is a very large place. When you go in to the museum make certain you look at the ancient founding double wall, built by the Phoenecians.

We visited while on a cruise excursion. We were in a small group, but 50 small groups ='s too many people in a very special place. It definitely a bucket list place to see though!
Joe S — Google review
The Roman Theatre in Cartagena, an Incredible place with a rich history, is a true gem – remarkably well-preserved for its age, over 2,000 years old, it is impressive both in terms of atmosphere and scale. It's a must-see on the Cartagena map – perfect for history and architecture enthusiasts. Tickets aren't necessary just for spectacular photos; it's worth visiting in the evening when everything is beautifully illuminated. The view from the publicly accessible, upper section near Torres Park is excellent and for free.
Falkor — Google review
Beautiful place! We planned to go inside, wouldn't mind paying but ended up from our carpark in the gardens on top of it and found out you can walk all around it with views of it all for free. So if you're not bothered for the museum inside, no need to pay to see the theatre. At the top there are gardens and more to see of a little castle. Whole Cartagena is worth the visit
Daniela C — Google review
Ancient amphitheatre and modern museum in Cartegena... a lovely place to spend a few hours taking in the sights and soaking up the history. The town itself has a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants, some of which are tucked down little side streets. All of this is a short walk from the beautiful marina.
Valerie F — Google review
I just can't understand how places like this get buried or built on top of. I dont understand past rulers or crusades. So much history here and so well preserved. One certainly does not need to imagine much here to see how it actually was. It would be amazing to hear a concert here today.

Catedral de Murcia

Mentioned on
10 lists
Catholic cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The Catedral de Murcia, a Roman Catholic church located in Plaza del Cardenal Belluga in the heart of the city, is a renowned example of Spanish Gothic architecture. Construction began in the 14th century and lasted two centuries with several changes made to its original sketch. The building was consecrated in 1467 and has since undergone expansions, repairs, and new chapels. The ornate Baroque facade contrasts with the mainly Gothic-style interior.
The Cathedral of Murcia, built between the 14th and 18th centuries, is a striking symbol of the city’s history and artistic evolution. Originally constructed on the site of a former mosque, it showcases a unique mix of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles. Its elaborate Baroque façade is especially impressive, drawing the eye with its dramatic sculptures and intricate detail. The 90-meter bell tower—among the tallest in Spain—was built over several centuries and reflects the architectural changes of its time. Inside, the cathedral features a spacious Gothic nave and numerous chapels, the most notable being the Capilla de los Vélez, known for its ornate star-shaped dome. Visitors can also explore the small museum located in the former cloister, which displays religious art, sculptures, and historical artifacts from the region. Beneath the main altar lies the tomb containing the heart and entrails of King Alfonso X the Wise, a detail that adds both historical and emotional depth to the site. Whether you're interested in architecture, history, or simply enjoying beautiful spaces, the Cathedral of Murcia offers a rich and memorable experience. Entrance is priced at €5 for the cathedral alone and €4 for the museum; a combined ticket for the cathedral and museum is €7.

Murcia centro & cathedral are definitely worth visiting! Beautiful architecture and plenty of bars and restaurants to sit and watch the world go by. (Loves people watching) 👀 🤣
Kevin A — Google review
We loved our visit to the Catedral de Murcia! ⛪️ The architecture is absolutely breathtaking, with its mix of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque details—you can spend ages just admiring the façade and intricate doors. The plaza in front is vibrant and welcoming, filled with cafés and terraces where we enjoyed a hearty brunch while soaking up the atmosphere. ☕🥐 It was such a nice stopover in Murcia—easy to wander, beautiful to photograph, and full of charm. The cathedral itself is impressive inside and out, and the surrounding square feels like the heartbeat of the city. 🌞 If you’re traveling through Murcia, don’t miss this gem—it perfectly combines history, culture, and a relaxed Spanish vibe. Highly recommended for anyone passing by! 🌟
G J — Google review
Beautiful cathedral with a fascinating mix of architectural styles visible from the outside. The details and decorations are absolutely breathtaking, and it really makes you appreciate these kinds of buildings that simply aren’t built anymore. Entrance is €5 for the cathedral alone or €7 if you want to visit both the cathedral and the museum. The downside is that in the museum almost all descriptions are only in Spanish, with just a few objects explained in English. For most of the exhibition you’ll need to rely on Google Translate.

Real Casino de Murcia is a private social club and cultural center housed in a stunning 19th-century building with an elaborate facade. Located near the cathedral, visitors can explore the nearby Jardin de Floridablanca, a charming city park with fountains and monuments. The riverside promenades offer green spaces, the Museum of Science and Water, and the Garden of Cypresses.
Over the years visiting Murcia, all we remember is the lack of parking spaces. This time, we found a place. 30min walk, but what an experience. The town and above all, this excellent museum. Discount for OAP's and clean toilets. Above all, an amazing building well displayed and worth the charge to entry. It seems to be soon in use, at least half of it. Despite the translation to casino, we reckon it means old English Club House. Ornate and well restored recently. The translation to "Royal" Also we reckon it means "Real", not the crown. The Ball Room is spectacular. And they host some modern exhibitions. We couldn't stop taking pictures. It means it is worth visiting.

The 19th century Real Casino de Murcia in Murcia, Spain, is a private social club where the local elite could meet. It's still used for that purpose but tourists are also admitted for a fee. Entry to the Moorish Patio is through an Islamic-style horseshoe arch. The design of the Moorish Patio itself was inspired by the Alhambra in nearby Granada. Leaves of pure gold were used by the decorators. The ballroom features gold-coated bronze chandeliers decorated with Baccarat crystal made in Paris in 1886.
David S — Google review
We had a long weekend in Murcia. The Old Town in Murcia City is the most wonderful place with so much to see, including the Real Madrid Club, ( nothing to do with football). It is an eclectic collection of the most wonderful, opulent rooms, and is a MUST visit if in Murcia City

Wow 😯 absolutely stunning building with beautifully decorated rooms and decor. The Arab entrance alone has 20,000 individual gold leafs adorning the walls. The ballroom is stunning as well as the English influenced library and Billiard rooms. A must see attraction for only 5 euros ( 3 if you are a retiree)

Just steps from the Cathedral, on the famous Calle Trapería, you can admire the splendid Royal Casino of Murcia. Its extraordinary beauty and elegant interiors earned it the title of National Historic Monument in 1983. Built in 1847 as a luxurious entertainment venue for the city's wealthy elite, it continues to serve this purpose today as a private club with highly select members. After extensive renovations, the casino became "Royal" in 2009, at the behest of King Juan Carlos I. The casino is open to the public, who, with an admission ticket, can access some of the sumptuous interior rooms, immersing themselves in the glittering past of the city's wealthy elite. Aesthetically, the entire building features an unusual combination of different styles from various eras, making it a unique monument. The sumptuous facade, designed by architect Pedro Cerdán Martínez, features classical and modernist decorations, resulting in a highly eclectic result. The entrance to the casino is the most fascinating space, a true Arab patio inspired by the most refined Moorish palaces, such as the Alhambra in Granada and the Alcazar in Seville. Other rooms worth visiting are: the English Library, entirely made of wood; the luxurious Ladies' Hall, with a splendid painted ceiling and gilded oval mirrors; the Pompeian Patio, decorated with classical columns and statues; the Ballroom, built between 1870 and 1875 in neo-Baroque style and adorned with gigantic chandeliers. In addition to visiting the casino's rooms, you can also visit the restaurant and bar and attend exhibitions, displays, and cultural events. Ticket 5€ per person.

Unusual sandstone rock formations eroded by wind & water, next to a popular swimming beach.
This is a beautiful place to visit. I live near here and often visit the local beach and local restaurants. The erosions are stunning and in the summer month's they are often the lit up backdrop for many concerts. There is plenty of parking, a great beach and lots of places to eat and drink. Beautiful at sunset and wonderful nightlife during the summer, as well as concerts and fiestas
Kim H — Google review
A beautiful and interesting place. Apart from the huge sandstone formations, driving just a few kilometers further on, there is a mini-nudist beach, as well as a giant swing overlooking the sea.

Interesting rock formations next to a nice beach area and large car park. If staying in the area and looking for a relaxing afternoon, it's worth a trip here. There are a couple of restaurants too.
Marc B — Google review
Beautiful and impressive sandsculptures. There is a QR code to take you to the detailed information about the sculptures in English, however its disappointing that you first have to sign up to the town's newsletter so we didn't bother. Also the enormous and EMPTY (in January) car park only allows a 4 hr stay so you can't park there overnight if visiting restaurants.
Penny H — Google review
Free parking the water is so much more clearer than mazarrón beach and you have oasis bar which has great food and service
Sandra B — Google review
Great point of interest. Perfect viewpoint and stunning creation by nature. Reason for the 4/5 is the lack of protection and preserving of this landmark by the responsible authorities. Keep in mind that there is no protection (fencing/danger signs) on top of the location. Keep in mind that this location is created by erosion and that collapse of the edges on top is a potential danger.

Really fascinating place. Comparable to the Hoodoos in Drumheller, near Calgary in Canada. Well worth a visit. Great road trip down through the mountain pass.

Castle of Lorca

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
The Castle of Lorca is a towering medieval fortress that offers tours, events, and a casual courtyard eatery. It provides wonderful views of the surrounding area and has well-preserved historical elements coexisting comfortably with an upmarket hotel. The original synagogue is beautifully preserved and presented, while there's also a small cafe with a performance area. Accessible by private coach or car, free parking is available just outside the castle. Visitors can explore three walking routes around the outside, offering amazing views below.
Lovely castle, which is kept well. You can walk round the gardens for free, pay €4 for each tower or €10 to see all 3. Each tower opens for 45 minutes at 12:00 13:00 and 14:00. We saw all 3 & I would recommend this. The carpark at the bottom is free to park. There is a steep walk up to the castle, and the walks can also be difficult, I wouldn't advise this for people with mobility difficulties. The lady on the front desk was really friendly and knowledgeable about the castle and the ruins. We had a drink and ice cream from the shop which were reasonably priced. The staff in the cafe were also very friendly, the cafe was clean and tidy inside and out.
Karen G — Google review
Excellent visit, staff exceptionally helpful and even contacted taxi company to retrieve our lost phone. They arranged for delivery to castle and got it back to us within a couple of hours. Amazing. Views from towers are awesome and evening dinner with music a wonderful experience. Unfortunately a couple of sights closed due to restoration but still well worth the visit.
Jacqueline H — Google review
Gorgeous place to visit, stroll through the garden and stop at the Cafe for a drink soaking up the views. To get into the towers it costs 10 euro per person or just walk through the grounds for free. Have to say we'll worth the 10 euros.
Andy H — Google review
Beautiful place for a day out, but be prepared for the walking up hills. As you probably can see, it's perched on a mountain and the car park is 3 quarters up. You pay to go in yhe various towers, but the grounds are free to roam around. Great few hours with family and the club sandwich is highly recommended as well 👌
Matthew J — Google review
Lovely place to visit, not to long of a day, but beautiful gardens and grounds, very informative and a nice day out would recommend
Dan J — Google review
This castle had some great history and a good walking tour via a fre app. The castle itself is basically a walled area on top of a hill overlooking the surrounding areas. So views are fantastic. However, if you are expecting more buildings to wander around, you will be disappointed. There are a fee towers that have been reconstructed, but there is a cost to enter them. Entry to the grounds and cafe is free.
Chris C — Google review
The drive up the hill is an adventure. When you are nearly at the top you can enter the free car park. A short but steep walk up to the castle. Entry is free and if you'd like to take the guided tours, it is €10 pp for the three on offer. A well preserved example of the last millennium of Islamic, Jewish and Catholic rule on this important frontier
Kiff — Google review
Looks spectacular and enticing from the A-7 road but absolutely not worth the visit. The castle scores points for the overall appearance from a distance and the setting and views from it as it is situated on a hilltop with fine vistas of the surrounding countryside but once you get out of the car and pay the admission fee the experience is very disappointing. Virtually nothing worth seeing on site as the synagogue is an excavation site and not worth the 4 euro (there should be no admission price at all as what little there is can be seen in one minute), the Espolon tower has good views from the top but is very basic and when we visited the Alfonsina tower which is the most impressive structure on the site wasn't even open. We were really looking forward to visiting this castle and took a lengthy detour from Cartagena to get there and we wished we hadn't. Much better castles to spend your time and money on than this one.

Los Muertos Beach is a picturesque and undeveloped pebble beach located within the Nature Reserve of Cabo de Gata-Nijar. It is known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, fine white sand, and secluded location, making it perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and snorkeling. The beach is hidden between mountains and has an extraordinarily straight shoreline. Accessible via a hilly hiking path, it's popular with nudists due to its difficulty to reach.
The Best Nudist Beach EVER a must visit 🏖️ walk up to standing rocks far right (see photos) private and peaceful lots of couples crystal clear water see photos we will be visiting in March 2025 FFK

This is one of my most favourite beaches! Parking available up the hill. About 15-20min walk down. Dont wear flip flops if you can help it. Waves were very harsh but very enjoyable.
Vyan — Google review
Amazing beach! Must go in Cabo de Gata. You can park for free and there’s a place to buy food or drinks on the road. It’s a short 5-10 minute walk to the beach but very accessible

Beautiful Beach, but wear good shoes for the path downhill. For the Beach we could have had bathing shoes, but managed without. Few People on an day with low wind in November, it was an amazing experience 🤩
Tregde — Google review
Amazing pebbly beach. Pebbles are small and smooth, very comfortable to walk and relax upon. The path down to the beach is somewhat uneven so take care and wear good shoes.
Quentin L — Google review
Beautiful beach, nice walk. There is parking on the side, and then some walk down to the beach.
Vilma V — Google review
Stunning blue waters. Unfortunately the waves were crazy so didn’t swim that much. Bring water shoes. Parking was ok. There is a lot with paid parking but you can also park on the side of the road for free no problem. ~20 min to get down to the beach.
Cathy S — Google review
Loved it! Crystal clear. At least 3 different fish in the shallows; a mask is a must to see them better. Great car parking but sooooo busy even today at 16:00 on 10/09/25. 6€ charge up to 19:00. Water, ice-cream and other things sold by the car park. Uneven 15 minute walk down to the beach; wear good grip shoes or sandals. Gorgeous small stones on the beach make it really comfortable just with a towel; no chair needed.

It is one of 24 nature parks, some of which are maritime or partially maritime. The park offers various leisure activities such as driving, skiing, climbing, hiking, bird watching, sailing, swimming, and diving.
A stunning place. Make it a day for swimming, exploring and eating.
Ciaran H — Google review
My friends took me here on my last day in Almeria for a beach day and it was probably the best beach day that I've had abroad. Swimming in the refreshing Mediterranean was just dreamy. Clear waters, pebbly beach and not crowded at all. BYO shade as there are no trees. No public toilets or changing rooms from what I saw. We brought a picnic lunch with lots of water and fruit juice. The park is huge and has many beaches and even a wee township to explore or have food and drinks (will do this next time). Parking is free (on the side of the main road). I think we left at around 8pm. A totally relaxing day at the beach and not far from Almeria at all. I'd totally go back for sure!
Rachel S — Google review
This Natural Park is simply breathtaking! Best to explore by foot. The are numerous trails along the coast going up and down from one gorgeous beach to the next secluded cove, up you go giant sand dunes and down to an orchard of "pitas"...Please keep this please clean, DO NOT litter and leave nothing behind, thank you

Awesome. The last semi arid zone in Europe. As inhospitable an environment as you will find yet filled with flora and fauna that can live nowhere else and stunning scenery. If you are in Almeria this area is a must see.

Playa de Mónsul is a tranquil beach surrounded by volcanic rocks and famous for being a popular filming location. It has been featured in several movies, including Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The beach is characterized by steep rocks on both sides, creating a stunning natural setting with no visible buildings or infrastructure. Visitors can enjoy activities such as swimming, sunbathing, trekking, snorkeling, and sightseeing in this unique Mediterranean volcanic landscape.
One of the best beaches around Almeria. Not too crowded, compared to other beaches. You need to pay £6 for parking
Emma J — Google review
Highly overrated. For any beach between Playa de los Genoveses and Cala Carbon there was a 6eur/ car fee to enter. We arrived at 2 pm, waited 1 hour in line. The beach was windy, the sand was extremely sticky and got everywhere. There were no showers or freshwater fountains. The positive part is that the places are limited so it would not get overcrowded, the water was clear, which allowed some snorkeling l, but there weren't that many things to see.
CJ — Google review
Stunning beach - no doubt. Be cautious when conditions aren’t right. The waves and currents might be strong here. We didn’t dare to go for a swim and went to Playa de los Genoveses instead.
Jakub Š — Google review
Beautiful beach, clear water, not too crowded. No facilities. The flocks of birds are annoying, but can be scared off if you run at them wielding an umbrella. That could be a hazard for low flying aircraft, though...so try to have some situational awareness.
Msilverthorpe — Google review
Beautiful beach with volcanic rocks right on the beach. About 2 km further from Playa de los Genoveses. More windy than that beach. Beach slowly turning deeper, so ideal for small children. Parking is a bit after seeing the beach, so not along the road just before the beach, as many do (illegal). Like the whole region Cabo de Gata, about 1 hour before sunset many aggressive mosquitos appear, so better to leave earlier.
Pedro P — Google review
Very nice beach with dark sand. The water is very clear. Really good place to do some snorkeling, you can spot many fish. On the left side there is a big sand dune. If you climb on top of it, you will see few other beaches and very nice views in general. To enter the beach, you will need to pay 5eur (only during the High season). There is a big parking space, walk to the beach is maximum 5 min.
Laimonas G — Google review
Great little secluded beach. You have to be careful if you go swimming as there can be strong currents and there are no lifeguards. You can walk to the beach or you can take the car to the last parking and walk. If you go by car you need to buy a day permit to enter the area and take the dirt track. Beware that there are no services at the beach so make sure you bring everything you may need, and take everything back with you.
Miguel B — Google review
An amazing beach with lovely soft sand. Super quiet when we were there. Only 10 other people there or so. The sea was out so we managed to skirt around the rocks to a smaller beach. Quite windy but we found shelter by the rocks which also doubled as a sun shade.

Mini Hollywood is a theme park that re-creates the American Wild West, offering cowboy stunt shows, museums, a pool and zoo. Visitors are urged to experience this unique place at least once. It boasts plenty of restrooms for convenience and features amazing animal exhibits including snakes in the reptile house. The views from the top are stunning and you can also catch a train ride for added adventure.
I went with my family and we had great fun! The park is beautiful, so many picture opportunities! The shows were impressive, the buffet lunch - delicious, the zoo is huge and offers stunning views. If you get too hot, the swimming pool offers a welcome cool-off!

My first visit there I had my grandchildren with me for a week We done day trips out every day all good and fun But none of them could beat Mini Hollywood. Staff were fantastic Buffet was excellent. It's great for young and old. The zoo took a lot of walking around The swimming pool is great Definitely will recommend it for a great day out. And loved the show The actors were great and friendly had no problems with them taking pictures the. With family members

Visited for a 2nd time this year. Sure we were overcharged for 3 people today?? Visited the buffet restaurant last time in August and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything, including drinks and deserts were included which made it so easy and the food was lovely. However, today we tried the Grill Mirador Okavango restaurant and was a little disappointed. It’s brought to you at the table rather than being able to go up to the counter to choose your own meat. The ribs were tiny and were a little underwhelming. The salad and accompanying bread were lovely. It would be nice if the drinks and dessert were included in the price like the buffet restaurant as that added to the price of your bill. There were very few people in the Mirador compared to the buffet, which shows that customers prefer the all inclusive buffet. If we were take any more visitors, we would definitely use the buffet restaurant. The cowboy show is very dramatic but ok and the Can-Can show is good. The zoo is very big but difficult to get around, so it would be nice if the train actually visited a few more enclosures and drove people back up the very steep hill (cardiac hill) to the Mirador Restaurant. Just felt that some of the animals needed more space as not all of them looked very happy in their enclosures. Perhaps less animals so others could have more space.

The theme park exceeded our expectations. We visited with our three kids, all under 8yo, and the whole family loved it. The setting is amazingly realistic, you feel like you are in a western movie. We spent a full day (from 10am until closure at 6pm) and the kids didn't want to leave. The shows, especially the stunt show was superb. I definitely recommend visiting.
Levi L — Google review
Amazing place to go with the kids!! We Were there the whole day and never got bored. There were shows, the pool, the safari, museums and much more to see. We also had the lunch time buffet with our tickets which was nice food, all you can eat and drinks included. The whole experience was more than worth the money!!!!!!! We will definitely return 😁😁😁
Kellie R — Google review
Oh yes! This place truly deserves special attention for those who are passionate about the history of cinema, for those who love westerns, and for anyone who wants to dive into the historical atmosphere of what life in such settlements used to be like in the old days. There are theatrical performances that will help you feel the spirit of this place. You can easily spend the whole day here — in addition to the western-style village, you can also relax by the pool, and the area also features a huge zoo with many animals.
Mykola S — Google review
We spent about five hours wandering through the dusty streets of this incredible movie-set-style town, complete with saloon doors, staged shootouts with cowboys, a cowgirl show and sheriffs keeping order outside the jailhouse. The detail in every corner makes you feel like you’ve stepped straight into a classic Western film. What makes this place even more special is its history as many of the legendary Spaghetti Westerns, including The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, A Fistful of Dollars, and For a Few Dollars More, were filmed right here in the Tabernas Desert. You can still see the same streets and buildings that Clint Eastwood once rode through in those iconic scenes. The live shows were full of action and humour, and the whole town has this timeless cinematic feel. We didn’t even make it to the massive zoo or the water park this time, so there’s plenty left for another visit.
Carlo C — Google review
Loved it so much here. They have a souvenir shop, a bar and a shop woth handmade leather accessories such as belts and bags. There was a live actor show that was very entertaining and you were able to take pictures with the actors after. Buildings looked exacly like from the westerns and some even had the options to go inside of them or onto the balcony. There was a museum inside of one of the buildings and a couple had the layout of what diffrent rooms ect would have looked like back in the day.

Conjunto Monumental de la Alcazaba de Almería

Sights & Landmarks
The Conjunto Monumental de la Alcazaba de Almería is an enduring fortress with protective stone walls surrounding an ancient compound, now housing historical exhibits. This 10th-century citadel is one of the most impressive in medieval Islamic al-Andalus and second in size only to Granada's Alhambra.
We spent a few enjoyable hours exploring this historic site, and it was definitely worth it! One of the best parts is being able to walk up the towers and take in stunning panoramic views over Almería. As EU citizens, we got in for free, which was a great bonus. Non-EU visitors pay a small entry fee of €1.50, which is still excellent value. Just a heads-up: check the opening times before you go, especially in summer. The Alcazaba typically closes in the afternoon and reopens around 7 pm, so timing your visit makes all the difference!
Stefano — Google review
This Alcazaba is really beautiful. I was shocked that it was free to enter. Lovely place to walk around even if the hill to get there is a bit steep! Definitely recommend visiting if you are in the area. Gives you a wonderful view of the town, port and sea.
Becky W — Google review
A must see place when in Almeria. It is a little bit like Alhambra in Granada, but smaller. However, we only visited part.of it, not where the terraced garden is; therefore, potentially it's much more than what we saw. It was free to enter where we went and visiting earlier in the day is worth it to beat the crowd. It's popular with tour groups. Great view of the city from the top. There are areas where excavation had taken place to study its history.
E D — Google review
The Alcazaba in Almeria is a must-see on the Andalusian coast. It's a beautiful fortress, stunningly built, perched on a rock with stunning views of the city and port. The cathedral in the cathedral square and the old town all capture the atmosphere of that era. Entry for free.
Falkor — Google review
Wow. Not the first castle with fortifications we saw in Europe… but it is a real nice visit and free. What makes it different is its size and the fact that it was maintained over the years. You should know that the visit starts with many steps to get to the top and more as you visit the fortifications but the views at the different layers are amazing. In addition to the well maintained castle and fortifications there are some ruin of old houses to see. If you can do a few hundred steps, it is a must-see if you are in Almeria.
Mario B — Google review
Beautiful place to visit while in Almería, surprisingly large fortress, easy walk but no for wheelchair users. Only accessible by stairs. Very nice area to see all Almería and the docks. Quite interesting story and a nice place to wonder around and take nice photos. Free entry!
Ana L — Google review
The Conjunto Monumental de la Alcazaba in Almería is absolutely worth visiting and a true highlight of the city. This monumental complex offers a fascinating journey through centuries of history, from Moorish fortifications to Christian influences. The grounds are extensive, with well-preserved walls, beautiful gardens, and plenty of architectural details to admire. One of the best parts is that entry is free, which makes it accessible to everyone and a perfect choice for a leisurely afternoon. A visit here is not just about history – it’s also about the experience of walking through wide open spaces, taking in breathtaking panoramic views of Almería, the coastline, and even the surrounding mountains. It’s a place where you can take your time, enjoy a peaceful walk, and let your imagination travel back to times when the Alcazaba was a powerful stronghold. However, there are a couple of practical things to be aware of. Parking near the Alcazaba can be challenging, and the area directly behind the castle doesn’t give the best impression. There’s some visible criminal activity, a fair amount of litter, and groups of young people hanging around, which can feel a bit uncomfortable at times. That said, these issues are outside the main complex and do not take away from the beauty and historical importance of the Alcazaba itself. Overall, if you’re visiting Almería, the Alcazaba is a must-see. It combines history, culture, stunning views, and free entry – a perfect combination for anyone interested in exploring the city’s heritage.

We had free entry on the day, not sure why. The guy asked us where we are from and let us in for free 😊 Really interesting to visit. We relaxed there walking around for about 1.5h.

Additionally, it offers an exhibition consisting of impressive photographs that are worth viewing. The best part is, visitors can enjoy all these attractions at no cost as entry to the castle is free.
Castle looked great from the outside. Sadly, we arrived at a time when it was closed (little tip for you....check opening times before you go) haha! Some beautiful photo opportunities there. I may go back when it is open but from what I could see it was amazing.

I came two years ago, they had an art exhibition on (modern art, I was like yeah I can have a go too). I drew a picture of the Castillo. It features me walking my dog called Colonel Lappy and a rainbow in the background. The Colonel loves castles too, he's a good imaginary dog. Anyway I hope I win. Worth a visit if you like castles and old stuff.

If you visit nearby Spain then it's a nice stop off point during a beach walk to grab some much needed shade. This is an old fort i believe dating back to 1700s however it is very modern inside and to be fair, it looks great!! It is now an art gallery with plenty of pictures and quirky art pieces and to top it off, it's free to get in!! You can also go up to roof and have a good view out to sea and across the harbour. Its not huge so plan this in as a minor pit stop. Oh.. and there's a nice Amphitheatre outside too :)

The Generalife, an ancient Muslim palace, is renowned for its exquisite ornamental gardens that feature serene pools, charming courtyards, and a riot of vibrant blooms. When visiting Granada, it's essential to dedicate at least three to four hours to explore this stunning complex. If time allows, you can easily spend an entire day marveling at the intricate Moorish architecture found throughout both the Alhambra and Generalife.
Beautiful gardens with stunning views and a lovely scent from the flowers. The gardens are well kept, safe to walk or stroll a pram, and there is one drinking fountain to top up your water bottle on a hot day. Some steps are very deep and hard to climb if you have difficulties, but there are plenty of seats to sit and enjoy if preferred.

The Generalife is a true oasis of peace and beauty within the Alhambra. 🌺✨ Walking through these historic gardens felt like stepping into a living painting — vibrant flowers, perfectly manicured hedges, and the gentle sound of fountains and flowing water all around. 💧 The views over Granada and the surrounding mountains are breathtaking, especially at sunset, when the whole landscape glows. 🌄 Each corner has its own charm, from the tranquil courtyards to the elegant archways framing perfect photo spots. 📸 It’s the ideal place to slow down, breathe, and soak up centuries of history and artistry, away from the busier parts of the Alhambra. A must-visit for anyone who loves gardens, architecture, and a touch of magic. 🌟

Beautiful place for a walk. The buldings, fountains and gardens are amazing! There were water points everywhere, so you can fill you bottle every 5 minutes. Good marking, so you see everything.

BOOK WEEKS/MONTHS IN ADVANCE!! was very hard to get a ticket but we managed it. Very pretty, some gardens and a building, lovely views of Alhambra. Recommend going here first and then to Alhambra.
Bryony W — Google review
Together with the Palacio de Nasaries, this is also a Must see in Alhambra. It is a garden that only female royal families lived, so very beautifully constructed with artistic gardening. You need to book tickets well in advance. We did 6 months ago. Otherwise cannot see. Takes at least 5-6 hours to see all 4 in Alhambra.
Kate K — Google review
We started our Alhambra visit with the Generalife Gardens. Originally built in the 13th century as the summer palace of the Nasrid sultans, these gardens are simply breathtaking. Surrounded by a variety of plants and trees, you can hear the gentle sound of running water and fountains everywhere. The reflections, the scent of flowers, and the cool breeze create an incredibly peaceful atmosphere. Walking through the paths, with birds singing and water flowing beside you, makes you feel as if time slows down. The small pools and channels beautifully reflect the Nasrid architects’ love and respect for water. A refreshing, tranquil, and truly unmissable place in Granada! 🌿💧🌸
Emil K — Google review
The Generalife ornamental gardens are truly impressive through their combination of simplicity and strategic placement. Located at the highest point of the Alhambra, they offer many scenic viewpoints over the city and the palace. The symmetrical design creates a calming atmosphere while also serving a practical purpose, providing ventilation and plenty of shaded areas. If you're visiting in the afternoon, I recommend starting with the gardens. You can walk through in about 45 minutes, but for a more relaxed visit with time for photos, plan for 1 to 1.5 hours.

Nestled atop the picturesque Sabika hill, the Alhambra stands as a breathtaking testament to Granada's rich history and architectural splendor. This medieval complex, originally constructed in the 13th century by the Nasrid dynasty, showcases an exquisite blend of Islamic artistry and Christian influences following its conquest in 1492. Visitors are captivated by its intricately carved throne rooms, serene cloistered courtyards adorned with fountains, and stunning mosaic tilework that reflects Granada’s iconic style.
A beautiful experience. Like a step back in time. Fantastic gardens, and immaculately maintained parts of the castle are amongst the many things you can visit and experience. Highly recommended to tour it with an audio guide or,better, with a guide! Book well in advance and remember to bring your passports,as they are mandatory to get in and linked to the tickets! 🎟️

The Alhambra in Granada is absolutely breathtaking. Every corner of the palace and gardens shows incredible detail and craftsmanship, making you feel like you have stepped back in time. The combination of intricate architecture, beautiful courtyards, and lush gardens creates a magical atmosphere that is hard to forget. Walking through the halls and seeing the ornate designs on the walls and ceilings is mesmerizing, and every view of the city from the fortress is stunning. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, making the visit smooth and informative. It’s a place that captures both history and beauty perfectly. Five stars out of five – a must-visit for anyone traveling to Spain.

The Alhambra in Granada is an absolute must see!!!! It’s by far one of the most stunning and memorable places I’ve ever visited. I would highly recommend you spend the extra money and purchase a guided tour - that way, you can learn all the historical facts about the Alhambra. I only bought the admission tickets and regretted not getting the guided tour! The Nasrid Palaces are breathtaking, filled with intricate details, grand architecture, and so much history. The gardens and water fountains are so beautiful. I’ve never seen anything like it before! The Generalife Gardens are equally impressive, with perfectly manicured greenery, peaceful fountains and streams, and beautiful structures. This was my favorite part of the visit. Be prepared for lots of walking and stairs, as some areas may not be entirely accessible for those who have mobility difficulties. Plan to spend an entire morning or afternoon exploring, because there is so much to see - also lots of photo opportunities. The Alhambra truly lives up to the hype and is an unforgettable experience in Granada! Highly recommend the visit! Be sure to purchase tickets in advance so you don’t miss out on this amazing experience.

I was awed by the beauty as well as the history of Alhambra. In 711, the Moorish from north Africa conquered the sourthern Spain. Before the Christians recaptured the land, Granada was the center of culture and commerce. The Nasrid Dynasty built the Alhambra palace, which consists of the Generalife garden(my favorite) and Palacios Nazaries palace. Throughout the Alhambra, you will see Moorish's incredible architecture and design combined with intelligent irregation system that draws water from the revier down below to provide the water for Alhambra. It was refreshing and peacful to see water running throughout the garden, fountains, court yard, and ponds. And the views are also amazing. From the palace balcony, you can see the old town Albaicin nestle on the hillside and part of Granada city. The best time to visit Alhambra is late Spring, early Summer or late Fall. Reserve your tickets early or sign up with a tour guide will save a lot of hassles.

An absolutely breathtaking place — the Alhambra is a masterpiece of history, art, and architecture. Every corner is filled with incredible detail, from the intricate carvings and mosaics to the serene courtyards and gardens. The views of Granada and the Sierra Nevada mountains are stunning, especially at sunset. The visit is very well organized, and the audio guide helps bring the history to life. Truly one of the most beautiful and inspiring landmarks in Spain — an unforgettable experience and a must-see for anyone visiting Granada!

Unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Worth all the praise and more! The fortress gardens are a sight to behold. Book tickets in advance. They tend to get sold out pretty quickly and months in advance. Last minute tickets via third party sellers are easily 4x, 5x the price. So book in advance or you might miss out.

Absolutely stunning. Book your tickets in advance - it is so worth it and breathtaking when you go. Took us 4-5 hours from beginning to end and was one of the highlights of our trip! The intricacy and the details are just incredible. We didn't do a tour but maybe next time for all the history!!

Book way in advance my friends. Tix sell out super early and fast. Your ticketed time will be for the palace, which is about 5-10 min walk from the main entrance so get there early to walk through to the palace. Of course it’s incredible. She’s stunning. Amazing. The sacred geometry of it all is just too much for words to explain. Take it all in. Don’t rush it. Don’t skip the museum on your walk through either; it’s free entry and shows lots of excavation goodies, provides context and information. No need for a tour group for this one, unless you’re super into them. Feel free to roam and take it all in without the time constrictions. You can always eavesdrop on other groups along the way as well. Heaps of podcasts to listen to on your drive/ride into the area to get yourself up to speed. There are also tour guides at the front if you do require guidance last minute. Parking is easy for cars, van, campers etc. Fee is a flat rate per hour; I think we paid like 7€ for the few hours we were there. Lots of parks and chill areas to have your pre prepared Brekky, lunch or snacks, and there are multiple cafes, bars & restaurants close by if needed. Toilets are spread out among the complex, with some accessible by wheelchair. Contact the site for info about your specific needs. They’ve done a great job by making it as accessible as possible for an ancient site. There are some rooms with ramps and others without. The stairs are a killer in the heat. Bring water. Bring water, maybe suncream depending on the times, bring a snack, the Alcazabar has a few flights of steep stairs to get to the top but it’s so worth it at the top and the walk back down is so easy. Walk through the parks and gardens on the way back and relax with water, coffee or beer along the way. Truly one of the most incredible experiences of my life. So thankful to have been able to visit this place. Thank you.

This picturesque spot is perfect for capturing those classic sunset photos, with the majestic Sierra Nevada mountains providing a dramatic backdrop. The Royal Chapel of Granada, built in the 1500s, is a mausoleum for Catholic royalty and also serves as a museum. It is a popular tourist attraction located next to the Granada Cathedral. The chapel is famous for being the burial place of Isabella and Ferdinand II, two powerful Catholic Monarchs who completed the reconquering of Spain from the Moors. The beautiful tomb made from alabaster was designed by Italian sculptor Domenico Fancelli.
The Royal Chapel of Granada is a must-visit for history and art lovers. The tombs of the Catholic Monarchs, stunning Gothic architecture, and a fascinating museum with masterpieces from the 15th and 16th centuries make this place truly special. A peaceful and awe-inspiring spot in the heart of Granada — don’t miss it!

The Royal Chapel of Granada, is small but impressive! This is the final resting place of Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand who helped shape and modernize Spain. Seeing their tombs up close was surreal. They're carved from perfect white marble and surrounded by beautifully detailed Gothic architecture. The crypt below felt a little haunting descending down the steps. You can see the simple coffins with initials marking the actual burial spots including the children. You can really feel the weight of history in that room. There’s also a small museum section with beautiful royal artifacts. Royal crowns, scepters, robes, and religious relics. I highly recommend getting the audio guide it’s included in the price and really helped me understand what I was seeing. Without it, you’d miss a lot of the symbolism and history behind the art and layout. No photography allowed inside. I spent about 30 minutes there. It’s not a huge space, but it leaves a big impression. Its great to pair the visit with the nearby Granada Cathedral, which is more architecturally grand. The Royal Chapel of Granada feels like being in a time capsule. Standing in front of the tombs of some of Spain’s most influential monarchs was deeply moving. If you’re in the city, don’t miss it!

Unbelievably beautiful palace. Loved all the chandeliers and clocks. Had a fabulous tour guide. Beautiful ceiling art. Highly recommend this site to tour. Go right when it opens to avoid huge crowds.

The Royal Chapel of Granada feels less like a monument and more like a quiet epilogue to history. Beneath its gilded calm lie the simple coffins of Ferdinand and Isabella — symbols of faith, conquest, and mortality. The soft light and somber art whisper of endings and beginnings, where Moorish Granada gave way to Catholic Spain. It humbles, not dazzles — a place where history exhales.

The Royal Chapel of Granada is absolutely stunning!!! The architecture is beyond beautiful, and the intricate details throughout the chapel make it truly special. The tickets include an audio tour which was so creative, interesting, and fun to listen to! It’s absolutely worth a visit if you’re visiting Granada!

A small chapel with exquisite artifacts from time of Fernando and Isabelle. Seeing the lead coffee of kings and queens from 500 years ago feels absolutely surreal. Photo and video is not allowed unfortunately.

It boasts a diverse collection of tropical and subtropical flora, as well as well-preserved ruins of a Phoenician fish salting factory dating back to the 4th century BC. Beautiful park full of big trees and exotic plants and flowers. You can sit here and relax. Also there are roman structures to be seen. All on the foot of the castle. A lot of days they will have nice events in this park. You can walk to the beach from this point or into the city.

Looks lovely from the outside, but unfortunately, they don't allow dogs, so I couldn't go in, so I can only give 2 stars

Nice place. The on my problem was the staff in the little cafe. They obviously hate the Brits! Despite our speaking Spanish and being friendly, they remained stone faced. It made us uncomfortable, so I would not recommend refreshments here.
