wonderful place. You get a strange feeling through the arid nature of its terrain. Honestly, I had a feeling as if the place was so full of memories that I could imagine the traces of a person not far away as if it was just a few hours ago. Feeling crazy too
Sam T — Google review
Much to be said, yet, the place is relatively far from the city of Msila, if you wish to catch the bus to Maadid, where this fort is located, you better be there early (7AM ) since few lines go through this region, I had to take a cab. I advise you to start first by the museum then you move to the fort, 20mn on foot. It s worth it !

Historic site between the mountains far away from the highway and public roads , very empty , no visitors at that time , unfortunately i was not allowed to take pictures , i took a couple of shots before the guards stopped me and asked if i had a permission of the ministry of culture . Founding: Built in 1007 CE by Hammad ibn Buluggin, who was the first ruler of the Hammadid dynasty. Capital of the Hammadids: It served as the first capital of the Hammadid dynasty. The Hammadids were a Berber dynasty (part of the Zirid lineage) ruling parts of North-Africa.

Mazhar A — Google review
Beni Hammad Fort, also called Al Qal'a of Beni Hammad (Arabic: قلعة بني حماد‎) is a fortified palatine city in Algeria. Now in ruins, in the 11th century, it served as the first capital of the Hammadid dynasty. It is in the Hodna Mountains northeast of M'Sila, at an elevation of 1,418 metres (4,652 ft), and receives abundant water from the surrounding mountains. Beni Hammad Fort is near the town of Maadid (aka Maadhid), about 225 kilometres (140 mi) southeast of Algiers, in the Maghreb. In 1980, it was inscribed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and described as "an authentic picture of a fortified Muslim city". The town includes a 7-kilometre (4 mi) long line of walls. Inside the walls are four residential complexes, and the largest mosque built in Algeria after that of Mansurah. It is similar in design to the Grand Mosque of Kairouan, with a tall minaret, 20 metres (66 ft). Excavations have brought to light numerous terracotta, jewels, coins and ceramics testifying to the high level of civilization under the Hammadid dynasty. Also among the artifacts discovered are several decorative fountains using the lion as a motif. The remains of the emir's palace, known as Dal al-Bahr, include three separate residences separated by gardens and pavilions. The fortress was built in 1007 by Hammad ibn Buluggin, the son of Buluggin ibn Ziri, the founder of Algiers. The city became the capital of the Hammadid Berbers, and sustained a siege from the Zirid in 1017. In 1090 it was abandoned under the menace of the Banu Hilal, and was partly destroyed by the Almohads in 1152.

The waterfall is just the most stunning I’ve ever seen, surrounded by all the untouched nature, the spirit of Imazighen and the nice people working there who were so welcoming and friendly! Such a nice spot, I highly recommend, Bejaïa is incredibly beautiful, can’t talk enough about it! And I even got a free “Yaz” bag pin as a gift, the symbol of freedom in Amazigh culture that I’ll always cherish 😊

Stone fountain with a nude statue, built in the late 1800s & renowned as a symbol of the city.
Attacked, vandalized, but still standing… The sculpture of a woman in the city of Setif in Algeria – created by the French during colonial times, after gaining independence it became a symbol of division. For some it is a part of history, for others a provocation.

Samsung G — Google review
The museum was half closed for maintenance during my visit but it's pretty good, calm, well organized and has detailed description for everything exposed in both Arabic and English, only downside is that the only section that was open felt a bit small, also entrance is completely free.

Very nice mall and hotel…excellent terrace restaurant…great staff and service.
Amitabh C — Google review
Pretty good Mall w/ paid parking, the parking cost 50DA per hour, which isn't bad at all, the mall has variety of shops from food, clothes, dishes and everything in between, however the prices are too expensive, there is also a "games/entertainement" section in the top upper floor.
Smaili A — Google review
Good place to spend an evening. Don't plan on buying much though. prices are to high and there's not a great variety. Great supermarket, everything is available. Good parking
Slimane K — Google review
One of the best things about going to visit this park is the chance to get to see the beautiful city of Setif, famous attraction (الفوارة), visit the zoo (which was more crowded with animals than most zoos), have a really nice dinner (Broaster Chicken right down the corner), play some games in the open air and of course do your shopping. The only inconvenience that i had with the mall was the interior design, we kept getting lost inside (maybe that’s what they intended :P ) 2024 update: the restauration inside is terrible. Avoid having lunch or dinner in the mall’s restaurants.
Joseph — Google review
The mall was very very very crowed, I was not able to enjoy anything, epically food, and it was very noisy, it has a good collection of store and restaurant, it even has a small amusement parcel in the third floor, I visited it at new years but when asked around, it wasn’t Crowded because of new year, it’s always like that, in general it’s not a bad mall, but because of how crowded it is, I don’t think I’ll visit it again

Great zoo, located in "Kissir", very easy to reach. The majority of animals are available in the zoo, there are cafés, restaurants, kiosks... Prices are cheap, free tickets for old people and infant/preschooler. It's a must visit place in Jijel. Highly recommended for all especially families.

A great place to spend a day with family and relax, the price is (100da for grown ups, and 50da for under 12), it includes a variety of animals and cozy places to sit, also a little amusement park. There are places to eat (i didn't try it), a small mosalla to pray for men and women.

The zoo is a lovely place, great for relaxing with family and also works well as a park. However, they need to take better care of the animals and improve hygiene, especially by cleaning and changing the dirty water where ducks and other animals swim.

Watching animals in captivity (even if born in captivity) doesn't make me feel good..i hope the staff are taking care of them..the organization is very good but total absent of security around the animals..kids giving them junk food like ships and popcorn - In complete innocence of course - there is a lot of gift shops around the zoo. A lot of games for the kids restaurants and ice cream shops ..the parking outside is guarded so enjoy your day

A true architectural gem and a place of peace! The Emir Abdelkader Mosque in Constantine is absolutely stunning — from its grand dome and elegant minarets to the beautiful interior details. The atmosphere is calm, spiritual, and welcoming. Everything is very clean and well maintained, and the staff are kind and respectful. From the upper terrace, you get an amazing view of the city of Constantine. A must-visit not only for worshippers, but also for anyone who appreciates culture, art, and Islamic architecture. Highly recommended!

personally i find this mosque very impressive with beautiful architecture and have a big garden with available parking lots i enjoyed praying in that mosque i had such a great time in the amir abdlekader mosque

This mosque is extremly beautiful in nighg and day time, i loved praying in this mosque. But there was a really bad experience for me with security staff that they do not know how to treat a guest while sitting in the lawn area. My wife is algerian national, went to visit this mosque and security staff disrespected us. The way of talking of them it could be improved but they talked badly. But i hope, the staff would be learning how to talk and welcome foreigners. Apart from that my experience in all cities was really nice, people are so kind and polite.

Visiting the Saint Augustine Church in Annaba was truly a highlight of my trip. Being a Christian Ugandan in Algeria, I felt great visiting the oldest church in the region. The architecture is stunning, blending elegance with a sense of sacred history. The interior feels serene and inviting, with beautiful stained glass and detailed craftsmanship that reflect deep devotion. Standing here, you can sense the centuries of faith and culture that have shaped this place. The view from the church grounds is equally breathtaking, overlooking the city and the sea. Whether you come for prayer, reflection, or to admire its beauty, Saint Augustine Church is a must-visit in Annaba. I left feeling uplifted, inspired, and grateful for the experience.

A beautiful building that was well maintained. Its architecture is unique. It was very hot to visit, definitely take a fan with you and treat the place with respect. You pay 100 da to go to the rooftop but I would not recommend those stairs for claustrophobic people.

Beautiful basilica with white marble and traditional/roman architecture, the only problem is that it's hard to go to because of the bumpy road, either way I'd recommend it

Definitely worth the visit. Pay 100dzd and get to the rooftop. Amazing view from up there to the city. Beautifully maintained building. Good job for the people taking care of this historical masterpiece.

Marvelous architecture and it's facing a real beautiful view of the whole city as it's located at the top.. the environment there is really great, down to the place they have thier own time for visiting so you better be sure you go there when it's allowed to go in and check it from the inside as well.. great opportunity to see how a real church looks like and read the history of that church as it seems it has been there for ages.. I'd leave you with few pictures ..

I am a Muslim. I visited this place because of its view of the sea and the beautiful view, a very bumpy and high road, a place that is not suitable for tourism because it is very dirty. It has security and lacks facilities because when you go up you need to eat and drink, a very beautiful view in front of the church, and thank you.

Picturesque, laid-back beach offering swimming, sunbathing, picnicking & rental chairs & umbrellas.
One of my favorite beaches in the city, it's location is amazing, there's a little park for kids to play right next to it, & maybe for picnics as well, it's usually clean but it could get crowded given that it's popular amongst the locals. I recommend taking your own food with you cause it's located further away from the city. Whoever you are I hope you have a great experience here.

The Archaeological Site of Bulla Regia

Mentioned on
1 list
Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Ancient Ruins
Nestled in the picturesque mountains of northwestern Tunisia, the Archaeological Site of Bulla Regia is a captivating destination that transports visitors back to ancient Roman times. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, located just 7 kilometers from Jendouba, boasts remarkably preserved underground villas designed to provide respite from the sweltering North African sun. As you explore this archaeological gem, you'll be mesmerized by its stunning mosaics and charming Roman theater.
This small Roman town is a UNESCO world heritage site and gives you a glimpse into how life was when Roman way of life thrived in this part of the world. As you enter the town, there different areas, villas, baths, temple, ... It is said that 80% of the town is still under the ground and has not been excavated. The mosaic work in one of the villas is very well preserved. In order to get here it is either good to book a tour or just rent a car from Tunis and drive. The place does not get many visitors and sometimes you can have the entire place for yourself.
Reza N — Google review
Bulla is quite a large site, but is not in a very good state yet. Some things like the theatre have been unearthed and the house of the hunt is fantastic and well worth a visit. There are some other interesting areas and once its excavated properly this will be quite an impressive site. However its still very much worth a visit.
Andy S — Google review
Another stunning archeological site to be found in the north of Tunisia. It would be very wrong to assume that the archaeological sites in the north of Tunisia are fairly similar. They all offer something completely different; that is what makes Bulla Regia special. The subterranean buildings on site are incredible and unique. It is amazing to find mosaic tiles open to the elements but have survived for over 2000 years. The site is fairly big and has various structures such as a theatre, baths, and underground buildings. I’d recommend exploring here for at least 2 hours. There are tour guides on site for those who need one. There is one particular bath to the far end of Venus House, to the left, almost a dead end. I’m not sure how many visitors discover this! I have been to Dougga and Oudna and would say that all three are uniquely different. Bulla Regia is about 2 hours from Tunis and 75 minutes from Dougga. Driving from Tunis to Bulla Regia is fairly easy; motorway for the best part of the journey. The views are beautiful. You will not regret visiting Bulla Regia. Free parking opposite site. Ticket office is near the car park before you cross over to the site itself. Tickets are very affordable.
Legends L — Google review
This site is about 1 hr away from Dougga by car and it’s a smaller site. There is a theater and a bath in the center area, which are quite modest compared to Dougga. What makes this place unique are the underground houses. A few of them are restored with the mosaic in place. You really get to feel what the place was like in its prime.
Michael C — Google review
This site absolutely exceeded expectations. The underground Roman houses and mosaics are fascinating, and visiting with a local guide really brings the history to life. The layout can be a bit tricky on your own, so having someone explain it makes a big difference. A must-see for anyone exploring northern Tunisia — unique and unforgettable.
Ricardo C — Google review
Nice roman ruins. Intact mosaics in some villas. Not very busy but gets very hot so bring water and a hat, sun screen
Omar T — Google review
This is an extraordinary site known for its unique underground houses and exquisite mosaics. Exploring it with a local guide is highly recommended, as the layout can be a bit tricky and the stories behind the ruins are truly captivating. It’s a place full of surprises and beauty — an unforgettable stop for anyone who loves history and discovery.
Andrea V — Google review
Spectacular place, plenty to walk around and see. Beautiful mosaics are still in a very good condition. The underground site it's amazing, the theatre is remarkable. Not too many tourists come here but it's totally worth it. The guide was knowledgeable and spoke good English. Make sure to negotiate the price before you're taking the guide, it's not a must.

A Hidden Gem in Tabarka: I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel La Cigale in Tabarka, and I can confidently say it was one of the best experiences I've had in a hotel. From the moment I arrived, the warm hospitality of the staff made me feel right at home. The hotel's location is absolutely stunning, nestled along the beautiful coastline with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. Waking up to the sound of waves and the sight of the sun rising over the water was a magical way to start each day. The rooms are spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated, offering all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. I particularly appreciated the comfortable bedding and the private balcony, which provided a perfect spot to relax with a book or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. The dining options at La Cigale were fantastic! The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious choices, from fresh fruits to pastries and local specialties. The on-site restaurant served exquisite meals, featuring fresh seafood and traditional Tunisian dishes that left my taste buds dancing. The hotel also boasts an impressive range of facilities, including a refreshing swimming pool, a well-equipped fitness center, and easy access to the beach. I took advantage of the various activities and excursions available, from exploring the historical sites of Tabarka to snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters. Overall, my stay at Hotel La Cigale was nothing short of perfect. The combination of stunning scenery, exceptional service, and comfortable accommodations makes it a must-visit destination. I can't wait to return to this beautiful hotel and experience its charm once again
Chadha I — Google review
The hotel is definitely on the pricey side, but every single cent is worth it. From the moment you step in, you can feel the quality and care that’s put into everything. The service is truly exceptional — the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. They’re warm, professional, and always smiling, ready to help with anything you need. It’s rare to find people who genuinely enjoy their job, and here, it shows in every interaction. Cleanliness is impeccable. Every corner of the hotel is spotless — from the lobby to the rooms, the pool area to the dining spaces. You get a real sense of comfort knowing everything is so well-maintained and hygienic. Now let’s talk about the food — it’s nothing short of spectacular. The meals are a perfect balance of quality and quantity. You’re served generous portions, but it’s not just about how much — the taste is phenomenal. The ingredients are fresh, the dishes are beautifully presented, and each bite is packed with flavor. It’s the kind of food that makes you pause and appreciate every mouthful. And then there’s the view. The hotel is perfectly located, offering breathtaking scenery that combines the best of both worlds — the peaceful strength of the mountains and the endless beauty of the sea. Whether you’re enjoying breakfast on the terrace, relaxing by the pool, or just sitting on your balcony, the natural surroundings take your breath away. It’s calming, energizing, and unforgettable all at once. Overall, this hotel isn’t just a place to stay — it’s an experience. Whether you’re there to relax, recharge, or explore, it delivers on every level
Aziza Z — Google review
If paradise had an address, it might just be La Cigale Tabarka.” From the moment we stepped inside, it felt like we’d walked into a warm embrace. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles, and throughout our stay, their attention to detail was remarkable, the kind of service where you feel seen, remembered, and cared for without ever having to ask. Each morning started with the kind of breakfast buffet you dream about on the plane ride home tables filled with freshly baked breads, flaky pastries, colorful seasonal fruits, and the rich aroma of Tunisian coffee drifting through the air. I still think about the local mlawi and the fresh cheeses. each bite was a little taste of the region’s traditions. If you go, take your time here; this isn’t a breakfast you rush. Then there’s the beach: oh, the beach. A stretch of soft golden sand that meets water so clear you can see your toes even when you’re waist-deep. In the mornings, it’s peaceful enough to hear only the gentle waves, and by sunset, the horizon glows in shades of orange and pink that make you want to stay until the last light fades. On quieter afternoons, we wandered to the Tabarka marina, watched the fishing boats come in, and explored the old fort perched above the sea. The surrounding hills offered breathtaking views for those willing to take a short hike and if you love photography, you’ll find endless inspiration. The other afternoon we have booked a golf course tour. It is worth every minute. Do not miss it if you have time. La Cigale isn’t just a hotel; it’s an experience. It’s the kind of place where you leave not just rested, but with memories you’ll keep replaying long after you’re home.
Mahmoud Z — Google review
If you’re looking for a unique experience of french colonial nostalgia, sexism and cultural erasure - then you’re at the right hotel. La cigale offers all this. You want to swim in their pools? be prepared to strip down — because here, your access to the water is directly proportional to how much skin you're willing to show. Long sleeves? Hijab? Modesty? Absolutely not. Only itsy-bitsy bikinis allowed, because apparently, women only belong in the pool if they’re dressed to please someone else’s gaze. Don’t bother mentioning feminism — they seem allergic to the idea that women are more than their bodies. If your idea of "local flavor" is a vaguely “oriental” café designed for Instagram photos, you're out of luck. Everything caters to the tourist palette No culture, speak french here! I stayed for 3 nights, that was enough. I couldn’t bear watching women in hijab having to watch how men and other women are enjoying their pool privileges, while they are banned. Boycott

Archaeological Site of Dougga

Mentioned on
4 lists
Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Dougga, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Tunisia, is a well-preserved Roman town with remnants dating back to the 6th century BCE. The ancient remains offer a captivating look into the opulent lifestyle of Romans, featuring bathhouses, an imposing Capitole, a 3500-seat theater, and various temples. Built on the site of an ancient Numidian settlement called Thugga, Dougga's streets are unusually tangled.
A surreal, yet moderately preserved site, though difficult to navigate and best avoided outside the winter and spring months (very hot otherwise). You'll likely have it entirely to yourself, as it's rarely visited , bring lots of water. Access is only possible through Teboursouk. The site is poorly organized, with little information available and minimal oversight from those responsible. Still, it's a true gem among the Roman ruins in Tunisia.
Kamel D — Google review
Dougga is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved Roman ruins I have ever visited. Surrounded by stunning green hills, the site offers breathtaking views of the Tunisian countryside. The ancient theater, temples, and Roman roads are remarkably intact, giving a true feeling of traveling back in time. Walking through the ruins, you can almost imagine the daily life of the people who lived here centuries ago. The atmosphere is peaceful, the air is fresh, and the mix of nature with history makes Dougga a unique and unforgettable place to explore. Truly a must-see in Tunisia
Hamdi C — Google review
An expansive site with temples, houses ,aqueducts ,wells, mosaics ,amphitheatre, tunnels in rural location. The countryside is attractive, green and productive and much of the ancient remains are still underneath the ground Visit included in the small group tour itinerary. Take water as if hot. Not crowded . Uneven ground.
Musicians M — Google review
Genuinely one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. If you go to Tunisia, you HAVE to visit this site. It is FULL of history and the place is wonderful preserved. The main temple is also so quiet and spiritual — I felt truly at peace here. There’s also many beautiful birds around to see. Unlike a lot of sites in Tunisia, Dougga is in a completely rural area in the countryside. It feels peaceful and magical like stepping back in time. Definitely go if you want to see a well-preserved old Roman city! TIP: go early in the morning because it will be very quiet and you’ll have the whole site mostly to yourself. At about 10am, all the massive tour busses arrive and it becomes busy.
Elllaahhh Y — Google review
Dougga is probably one of the largest and best preserved Roman ruins I have seen outside of Europe. The theatre is still in quite good condition and many of the other areas are more than just foundations. It can take two or three hours to walk around the whole site. There are some things an extended way out from the main area. This was the first time I had seen cisterns like this for storing water, they are quite impressive. There are still a few mosaics, but it looks like most have been moved to Bardo museum. This is one site that is definitely worth a visit.
Andy S — Google review
It is said that Dugga is the best preserved Roman town in north Africa, and this is definitely not an overstatement. As you enter, you can admire the majesty of the place where you see the remains of the temple with giant pillars, various villas, the Roman bath, as well as many other sections expected to see in a Roman town. The layout is in a way that you can starts your exploration in one line and end at the same place you started as first. Since Dugga is a bit of a distance from other places, not many visitors go there and you can easily enjoy the place for yourself, or with a very few people on site. This is certainly a place to visit when you're in Tunisia.
Reza N — Google review
If you haven’t seen Thugga, you haven’t seen anything… I’m a lover of antiquity — I’ve seen many ancient cities, yet Thugga completely captivated me. It’s a gigantic archaeological site, a terraced city crowned with a Capitol. It surpasses Herculaneum and Pompeii in terms of atmosphere, peace, and quiet! This Punic-Roman city is over 2,400 years old (exactly how old, it’s hard to say). Despite the reconstructions carried out by the Romans, you can still clearly see Phoenician–Carthaginian–Libyan influences — the most striking being the tall funerary towers. The Mausoleum of Ateban is a must-see — a true rarity on a world scale. Upon entering the complex, I managed to park just behind the gate — parking is included in the ticket price (I paid 8 DT). There are restrooms, and inside the site there’s a small café with decent prices and freshly squeezed orange juice for 7 DT. Unfortunately, they don’t serve pomegranate juice — even though the area around Thugga is famous for its pomegranates (you’ll pass hundreds of roadside stalls selling them on your way to the city). The city is enormous. I walked around for three hours under the full sun and still wasn’t tired of it! Sadly, I couldn’t manage to cover the entire 65-hectare site. What impressed me the most weren’t the Capitol, the amphitheater, the triumphal arch, or the temples such as the one dedicated to Celestis (Tanit), nor even the Punic tombs. What truly amazed me was a currently reconstructed Roman villa with a garden, the mosaics in every house I entered (most are damaged, but when you pour a bit of water over them, their colors and the craftsmanship come alive), and the ruins of a huge building resembling a gymnasium, with a circular engraving on the floor — I suppose it had an educational purpose. Recognized by UNESCO since 1997, Thugga stands as a testimony to our shared human heritage. Yet, it faces neglect due to a lack of resources. Tunisia cannot preserve it on its own — the international community must act now to safeguard it for future generations. I absolutely love Tunisia’s monuments — their accessibility, beauty, and the fact that people still don’t fully appreciate them, which means there are no crowds. Thugga guarantees an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend visiting this place!

the saddest experience at a museum. for 2 dinars I learned nothing and not a singular fish has even the species name beside the aquarium spot it is in. I was excited to visit but the museum is in such a dire need for renovations and amelioration.

Total rip off! Animal abuse, lots of dead fish. This place needs to be closed quickly!👎 If I wanted to see dead fish, I would've went to the fish market nearby. This is not a museum. We told the staff about all the dead fish and got told that "everytime they buy new fish, they die". Don't support this association that is killing one fish after another. There are zero information about the fish, biodiversity etc. so its not informative at all.

The place was quite spacious, but I wouldn't recommend visiting in the evening as it gets uncomfortably hot. They do have bathrooms available. Thuburbo Majus is a historic site worth exploring.

Amazing roman ruins, where you can walk through the buildings and inside several of them. High recommended.

A big archaeological site to see a Roman city founded about 2000 years ago…the area is a very fertile area about 40 miles south west of Carthage…the site is not well preserved by the government, no one work there just a ticket guy …no guides no shop to buy souvenirs …when I pass everything was closed I don’t know why …

Large archeological site about 90 minutes drive from Tunis or Hammamet. Probably will spend about 2 hours to walk around the site . We got there on a rainy winter say day and there was no one else except the ticket guy and a guide on demand ( you have to pay extra for the guide). Ticket is 7 D pp plus 1 D for the DSLR camera ( this is standard in all monuments in Tunis). Clean toilets on site with a small shop to buy souvenirs. Closest village is 15 minutes drive.

Lovely place combining Punic, Roman and Byzantine ruins. They have specific baths for each season.

The National Military Museum in Tunisia is an ideal destination for those interested in military history and its impact on modern Tunisia. Located within a secure military facility, the museum does not require prior appointment and visitors are escorted by an officer who acts as a guide. While the officer may not be a specialist historian, they offer a thorough tour of the exhibits. Unfortunately, there is no opportunity to explore independently or translate French captions.
Great museum with friendly military staff, would highly recommend as it goes through the full history of the Tunisian Military.

Amazing overview of the country’s history from the beginning of the first settlements until the resistance during WW2 and the so-called Arab Spring in modern times. Very informative, very friendly staff who answer all questions. Location is more than beautiful, don’t miss the opportunity to visit!

The Tunisian National Military Museum, situated in Manouba near Tunis, is housed in the historical Rose Palace. This museum offers a glimpse into Tunisia's military legacy, showcasing artifacts such as weapons, miniature warship models, and artwork. Its exhibits span different periods, from the Carthaginian era to modern times, highlighting moments of armed resistance and historical milestones. It's a captivating destination for exploring Tunisia's history and cultural depth.

Excellent little gem of a place that is one of the Bey of Tunisia's ex-palaces. Looked after by the military, who look after some if the sites of military significance in Tunisia -see the Tunisia Campaign Nov 1942- May 1943 and the Marenth Line- our guide around the Musuem told my wife and I that the word needs to get out more to attract visitor. They house some of the first few Gatling guns ever made. Enjoyable time spent.

The Palace of the Rose, built in 1798 in Manouba, is one of the finest examples of Husseinite architecture in Tunisia. A true testament to the country's rich historical and architectural heritage. 🇹🇳
