The Three Rondavels, also known as The Three Sisters, are a stunning trio of mountain peaks that resemble traditional African beehive huts. Nestled along the breathtaking Panorama Route in Mpumalanga, these majestic rock formations rise dramatically above the Blyde River Canyon, offering one of the most iconic vistas in the region.
A definite must see location. It is extremely beautiful and you could just sit for hours watching the view

Take some time to bond with nature. This place is gorgeous 😍. Don't do this if you have fear of heights. The barriers are limited. Majestic views, so breathtaking, if you have a drone, this is a place to fly. Some hike, if you have the nuts for it. There are markets for merch. Don't snooze for this place. Downside is that there are limited vantage points but you won't regret it. Enjoy & please be safe!!!

We had a 30 minute stop on our way back to Johannesburg after our safari. Beautiful views, enjoyed the quick stop.
Jacob K — Google review
One of the best viewpoints in South Africa! There’s a small entrance fee (cash/card accepted) and a short walk from the parking lot to the main viewing area. Clear signage, decent facilities, and absolutely stunning views of the canyon and the Three Rondavels.
Kim K — Google review
An absolutely stunning viewpoint! The Three Rondavels is one of those places that truly captures the magic of Mpumalanga. The panoramic views over the Blyde River Canyon are breathtaking- the layered cliffs, deep valleys, and the iconic three mountain peaks shaped like traditional rondavel huts. The viewpoint is easy to access, with safe walkways and plenty of space to enjoy the scenery. It’s a fantastic spot for photos, and the natural beauty is even more impressive in person than in pictures. Peaceful, majestic, and uniquely South African—highly recommended!
Preshema S — Google review
The beautiful nature made up for the restaurant not having coffee or milkshakes but is still the best of the public siteseeing attractions in the area. Especially after the letdown of the facilities at the potholes.
Francois V — Google review
Great views. If you have time and are planning some days before your visit, you should book a canyon cruise as well. Would have been even greater sights
Christian E — Google review
The views are beautiful, more beautiful when the grass is green. Entry is now cashless. And there’s food stores that actually work now. The last time I was here there weren’t any stores and you could pay cash to enter.. they also have safety monitors to prevent people from endangering themselves.

Nestled at the foot of the breathtaking north-eastern Lowveld Drakensberg mountain range, the Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Centre is a sanctuary dedicated to healing and caring for injured and abandoned wildlife. This remarkable facility not only rehabilitates animals from across South Africa but also offers educational tours that provide visitors with an insightful look into the challenges these creatures face due to human impact, such as poaching.
Excellent Rehabilitation centre. Caring and helpful towards animals in need and an eye opener about nature and the impact we as humans have on nature and wildlife. My guests always loves the tours and I can highly recommend a tour at Moholoholo. Been supporting them for many many years.
Elize O — Google review
This was my first time doing a full day tour with one of our student groups, and I absolutely loved it! As a biologist I have worked with an visited many rehab centres and sanctuaries, and seen many guided experiences. Ethan our guide was fabulous, definitely one of the best I have seen, giving good factual knowledge, knowing his stuff, and interacting with the group really well! Becky also gave us an excellent tour of the current rehab cases and discussed the important work they do!
Mark B — Google review
This place gave a great up close experience to see the animals that have been rehabilitated. I also like the fact that their goal is to release the ones that are able, back into the wild.
Kris — Google review
This centre does a wonderful job in educating the public, including school children, about conservation and poaching. The guide was entertaining and knowledgeable, and there is a range of beautiful animals here to learn about, from dassies to black leopards. Such a great experience!
Jarrod I — Google review
We went to Moholoholo to visit Stoffel the Honey badger. But we got so much more. Moholoholo is dedicated to animal conservation, education, and rehabilitation. The work they do is vital in preserving the jewels of Africa, their beautiful wildlife. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and funny. Shout out to Moses, who was brilliant and making us all laugh while still emphasising the seriousness of the effects of poaching. The animals you can visit there are the animals that could not be released back into the wild due to injury or because they had had too much human contact for various reasons. Moholoholo does NOT show animals currently in rehab to the public to prevent them from being unable to be released back into the wild. The work they do is important. The animals in their care are well looked after, and we will definitely return. My only complaint is that the gift shop was closed after the tour so I never did get my Stoffel Teeshirt. Sucks to be me. It does not suck to support the Moholoholo rehab facility. Amazing.
Amanda S — Google review
This rehabilitation centre is very well run. The animals are very well cared for, the facility is very neat, clean and tidy as are the bathrooms. The shop is well kitted and the food kiosk has ample food selection. Nathan was extremely informative and had answers to the many questions. This facility is well worth a visit, they can't continue their excellent work without our support. Please give them your support.
Tania L — Google review
Got a great tour! They have a great perspective on animal rehab and they don't sugar coat the rehab process. Great policies on preventative human imprint on animals. Definitely give them your support if you can!

Loved that this was part of our safari with Viva Safari’s. You get to see the animals up close and they are even given snacks.

Bourke's Luck Potholes

Mentioned on
36 lists
Nature & Parks
Geologic Formations
Bourke's Luck Potholes is a renowned geological attraction shaped by water erosion over millions of years. The swirling eddies of the Treur and Blyde Rivers have gradually worn away the Black Reef quartzite, creating stunning waterfalls and potholes. Visitors can explore walkways and bridges to witness the breathtaking red, beige, and earthy-toned rock formations as well as observe the cascading waterfalls that plunge over 20 meters deep.
It is truly remarkable how nature's beauty can captivate us completely. The scenery presented is incredibly stunning and evokes a sense of awe. The captivating sights of cascading water and unique formations leave a lasting impression. The whole experience is simply breathtaking and wonderfully satisfying. Overall, this is a truly unforgettable spectacle.
Solandre S — Google review
Such an wonderful place full of nooks and crannies. It was very interesting to see all the different rock formations made by the water. I must say that I found the prices to be quite high but at the end of the day it was well worth the visit.
Lesley S — Google review
Its a lovely spot. My only concern is the people who ignore signs demarcation the safe areas. Price wise it was R75 a person . Well worth it .
Vishika S — Google review
Wow this place is beautifully peaceful, from rock formations, beautiful flowing water to waterfalls. Walking here feels like everything is going to be okay like all your worries/burdens are lifted off your shoulders...the environment is really therapeutic. I spent longer time here because i emmersed my feet in the pothole and forgot reality I zoned out because of how much comfort i felt...an amazing feeling...reasonable restrictions ❤️❤️
Patience S — Google review
Highly recommended stop if you’re touring the Panorama Route. It pairs beautifully with other attractions like God’s Window or Three Rondavels. Just be sure to plan for the drive and enjoy the unique natural beauty when you arrive.
Balram R — Google review
What a stunning place. Enjoyed the beautiful scenery and got some amazing images from this spot. There’s a lot of walking so make sure to take comfortable shoes for walking. Definitely worth it.
Itumeleng M — Google review
My favourite stop on the Panorama Route. The Bourke's Luck Potholes have been formed over thousands of years of water erosion. The paths are accessible until you reach the bridges section and then there are stairs. Really stunning views. Keep a look out for the stunning Double Collared Sunbirds sucking nectar in the carpark trees.
Timeshare C — Google review
The experience is quite spectacular to see the water swirl and create the circles down below. They also have a special walk way for people in wheelchairs. NB: Just note if you want to use their toilets they charge you extra for toilet paper. Entrance R75 p.p if you are a South African citizen.

The Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre, located in the Limpopo province, is a wildlife refuge dedicated to the conservation of rare and endangered species such as cheetahs, white rhinos, leopards, African wild dogs, and ground hornbills. The center offers bush safaris where visitors can embark on a 2-hour tour to meet these resident animals up close.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre. I enjoyed the entire experience. It started off with a short informative introductory video, followed by a game drive. During the drive, we traversed through various enclosures, encountering diverse endangered species. While all the animals were impressive, the king cheetahs stole the show for me. Having seen multiple cheetahs before, it was amazing to behold these uniquely spotted ones. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly, ensuring we had ample time to observe each species without rushing us. The centre also has a convenient shop where visitors can grab snacks and drinks before or after the game drive. Overall, my experience at the centre was fantastic. The centre's dedication to conservation and education is evident in every aspect of the visit. In my opinion, the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre is a must-visit for anyone passionate about wildlife and conservation.

Wow. They are doing incredible work to ensure that our endangered Wildlife continues to exist. The facilities are great. Educational and interactive. Excellent service and value for money. Nice restaurant with yummy food on site, freshly made.
Theresa P — Google review
Great place, the work they do with the animals are admirable. The guide told.about the place and animals, which was great. It was done on autopilot from our guide, but we still enjoyed it...
Hanne U — Google review
We did this outing a few years back so it was lovely to see how it’s changed since. There was less animals than I remembered but the facilities are first class. My teens loved the Leopard and yes the King Cheetah is gorgeous! We had a lovely guide - Ruhan I think - who was very knowledgable, informative and friendly. It’s not cheap for domestic tourists but definitely worth it as you can see what the money is used for.
Jacky M — Google review
Really enjoyed seeing the different animals. They do a great job in taking care of the animals. Very knowledgeable guides. Would definitely be back.
Bryan B — Google review
Very nice place, with guides that have slot of knowledge about alle the animals. Have been here two times now and it is definitely a good drive worth.
Mikkel I — Google review
A favorite family stop over place for lunch or drinks when we travel in the area. Beautiful facilities that are normally very quiet during the off season and we'll worth the visit. There are 2 tours with open safari vehicles at 9 and 11am to see certain big 5 animals in enclosed camps. The ambience and relax nature are inviting but note they close at 14h00 pm.
Orlando S — Google review
Great experience! It is amaizing to see how passionate these people are about their animals and the fantastic work they are doing! We got to drive into a cheetah camp on an open vehicle, which was a thrilling experience! Also got to see the vultures being fed which is magnificent! The guide was informed and very friendly. The animals are in very good shape and cared for. Well worth the time and money spend.

Waterfalls
Lisbon Falls is a breathtaking 308-ft. waterfall located near Graskop, South Africa. It is the highest waterfall in Mpumalanga, with water cascading over craggy canyon walls before plunging into the gorge below. Named by European miners during the gold rush era, it offers a viewing platform near the car park at the top and an adventurous hike to its base.
I prefer these falls than Berlin falls. They are beautiful and there are 3 waterfalls. The water is clear and you can see inside the river. Entrance R25 p.p if you are a South African citizen.
Carina A — Google review
B....E....A.....UUUUtiful falls. Nice and adequate parking. Do visit this place if you're in Panorama Route. The only thing I don't understand is the ticket for it. Although it's not much but i don't think it's necessary. Per person, it's R25 for SA nationals and R50 for foreigners. A local mentioned it used to be free just a few years ago. Anyway, even with the small fee, one must go. There are some local handicrafts/ souvenirs at the parking area. The view point is nicley placed to have a full view of falls and the surroundings. The scenery around the falls make it even more beautiful.
Ammar M — Google review
😍Beautiful... However the view point is incorrectly positioned,it doesn't really show the waterfall fully and the space is very limited. They should extend it to parts they currently restricted access to because that's actually where the view point is clearer and breathtaking. A tour bus came and there wasn't enough space to fit everyone had to quickly leave to make room for incoming tourists which for me was unfair because I didn't pay to spend 2 seconds there, the view point really needs to be extended. The waterfalls are really beautiful ❤️
Patience S — Google review
There is no trail. You pay R25 per person to the water fall from the top of the hill. Should you choose to go beyond the fence and try the trail it is at your own risk.
Zaynudeen M — Google review
Simply amazing. Took a walk about halfway done the walking track to get a slightly better view.
Sean — Google review
When in Mpumalanga, one must definitely visit Lisbon Falls. The short hike down offers incredible views and the sound of the waterfall echoing through the valley is just amazing. A perfect stop for nature lovers and photographers alike.
Hassaan T — Google review
Beautiful waterfalls. Peaceful and unique to see nature with the mountains and clean clear water. My Australian students loved it.
Elize O — Google review
Another photostop on the Panorama Tour. Lisbon Falls wasnt heavily flowing in this visit given the time of year. It would be more spectacular in the wet season around February. Some market sellers under the covered area selling souvenirs.

God's Window is a popular lookout point offering panoramic views of a forested valley, making it a paradise for photographers. Adventure seekers can indulge in activities like abseiling, river rafting, fly fishing, rock climbing, and bush walks. The area also boasts the third largest and greenest canyon in the world - Blyde River Canyon - along with other attractions like Three Rondavels and Barberton Makhonjwa Mountains.
Beautiful place! Highly recommend taking the stairs to the top if you can, but if you’re unable I promise the views from below are just as amazing. The key to come early (before rain clouds roll in) or immediately after the rain stops!
Payal A — Google review
It was great. I don't post pictures or videos of the actual features so that others can go see it for themselves. You can see Mozambique from here and that's amazing. We went in July, and we could see as far as binoculars allowed. I've been here a couple of times and we couldn't see much. This period seems to be better. We enjoyed the walk up, the various available paths made it meditative and kept it fresh.
NOMHLE N — Google review
God’s Window is truly a beautiful spot, but unfortunately I visited on a foggy day and couldn’t see much of the view. Even so, the place itself is peaceful and the walkways are nice. I’d definitely recommend checking the weather before going, because on a clear day it must be absolutely breathtaking.
Vutlhari N — Google review
It was an absolutely amazing experience ❤️ worth the hike. The hike was not too long just steep but the views are incredible and so worth it. Reasonable entrance fees for S. African citizens not too sure about the entry for non-citizen visitors — beautiful experience nonetheless. There are stalls of beautiful handmade memorabilia also worth looking at and getting to keep as a reminder. The road leading to God's window also has amazing views of the valleys and mountains, would 10/10 recommend visiting it.
Buyile M — Google review
Mpumalanga has uncharted scenic views. A testimony of the diversity of South Africa’s nature. God’s Window & nearby views (e.g. Blyde River Canyon) are one of those unofficial wonders of the world. As regards God’s Window please don’t have unrealistic expectations of actual window from heaven, but be prepared for breathtaking views.
Bonginkosi Z — Google review
I'm still in awe of the breathtaking beauty of God's Window! The walk up to the window is an adventure in itself, requiring comfortable shoes and a bit of stamina, but trust me, it's worth every step. As you ascend, the scenery unfolds, and the anticipation builds, culminating in a jaw-dropping panoramic view that will leave you speechless. The majestic vistas stretching out before you are simply indescribable – a true marvel of nature. God's Window is a must-visit destination, and I'd recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable experience. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, bring your camera, and be prepared to have your breath taken away!
Zee J — Google review
Have you ever witnessed a truly remarkable experience? The vistas are exceptionally stunning. The trek to the location and onward to the Rain Forest is physically demanding. However, the experience is rewarding. The facilities are maintained to a high standard.

The surrounding area also features attractions like Mac Mac Falls, Pilgrim's Rest, God's Window, Blyde River Canyon, and Bourke's Luck Potholes.
Since the weather was rainy and everything foggy. We couldn’t see the rock. I am giving 5 stars as the security at the entrance kiosk suggested that nothing will be visible your money would go wasted.

It is nice small place to discover with 1 huge rock in middle and water fall, landscape close by. Entrance fee for international tourist is 60 baht
LINH S — Google review
Pinnacle Rock is a hidden gem in Mpumalanga! The short walk to the rock is easy and scenic, and the views are simply breathtaking. The 30-meter tall quartzite rock is a stunning sight, and the surrounding indigenous forest adds to the natural beauty. I was also impressed by the lovely waterfall nearby, which was a lovely bonus. The entrance fee is reasonable, and the facilities are clean and well-maintained.
Zee J — Google review
Stunning views. Well kept and clean. Just take your own toilet paper
Chantal H — Google review
There are way better stops at the panorama route. It’s a nice rock but that’s it. Only visit if you really want to see this rock with your own eyes. Better spend more time at Gods Window or drive to Lisbon Falls. (You’ll also not spend a lot of time at Lisbon Falls but it’s more spectacular than this rock)
Niek H — Google review
A natural skyscraper,Sandton has nothing on this beautiful natural phenomenon. The view is breathtaking from every angle, and the serenity of the surrounding forest makes you feel completely at peace.Standing there, you can’t help but admire how effortlessly powerful and graceful nature can be. The mist rolling across the cliffs adds a magical touch, almost like the mountain is breathing. If you love scenic spots, fresh air, and raw natural beauty, The Pinnacle Rock is an absolute majestic.
Patience S — Google review
Yep, beautiful spot, great rock formation and a lovely waterfall. As 4 international visitors we found paying R240 was steep though, especially for infrastructure that clearly hasn't seen any real love for decades.

Bridal Veil Falls

Bridal Veil Falls, standing at an elegant 70 meters, is a stunning natural wonder that captivates visitors with its delicate beauty. The waterfall's cascading waters resemble a bride’s veil, creating a picturesque scene that enchants all who visit. Located just 6 kilometers from Sabie town, the journey to reach this gem involves a short yet scenic walk from the car park, where breathtaking views of lush greenery and towering cliffs await you.
Wow what can I say, it not the biggest but certainly one of the most beautiful falls, staff are very friendly and we entered without any fuss, it was a small hike to the falls but well worth it, the road towards the falls isn't great so take your time you will be dodging potholes, and from there you will go on a dirt road but the experience is well worth it
Colins N — Google review
This is absolutely beautiful !!! A must go !!! We drove all the way from Gauteng (323km with our motorcycle 🏍️💨 just to see this and it was worth every mile !! It's absolutely beautiful, breathe taking and also looks like something out of a fairytale, when walking you see and feel nature the atmosphere, the hike is awesome and kids and adults that are adventurous can enjoy it. It's a full experience, there are hidden waterfalls aswell, as there are like little paths you can go down, we found hidden waterfalls 😉 and have the most beautiful photos, aswell as the big waterfall were you can actually go close to and isn't fenced off !! I recommend this place over any other waterfall in Sabie by far ( have a look on my other reviews) Love love love and a must !!!
Shania S — Google review
Beautiful nature soeaks for itself, 15minute hike, also beautiful in itself, needed slight maintenance from overgrowth. Fees were payable, ablutions were is good shape. Road to location was shockingly bad!!!
Laurence M — Google review
The entrance fee is R20... it's quite an uphill walk if you are a bit unfit and the path is very slippery at times. Wear comfortable non- slip shoes for this walk. I wore sneakers, and I still slipped and fell on the way down the path. Awesome views on the drive up to the entrance of the falls. This was a gravel road, but way better than most of the tar roads in the area
Aluwieya H — Google review
The breathtaking waterfall, nestled amidst lush greenery and towering cliffs, made the journey more than worthwhile. The surrounding nature added to the charm, making it a perfect spot for nature enthusiasts and photography lovers alike. The short hike to reach the falls was enjoyable and well-marked. However, despite the wonders that awaited us at Bridal Veil Falls, there was one downside that cannot be overlooked - the condition of the road leading to the site. The journey to reach this natural gem was marred by a bumpy and poorly maintained road, which added some discomfort to the trip. Overall it was still a lovely experience.
Yusuf P — Google review
A really beautiful Falls where you can get up close with the fresh spring water. If you carrying a camera I would advise you carry a protective casing to protect your gear. The hike to the Falls is some good cardio too.
DRUNAK — Google review
A short steep walk, but absolutely worth it. The waterfall hasn't seen much rain to form the "veil" yet, but it is still luscious and green and definitely a highlight on the Panorama Route. Entrance is @R15 per adult and they have card facilities. There are bathrooms on site that are in fair condition. Please keep in mind that the gravel road and potholes that lead to the site can be bad.
Wena C — Google review
Areas in the Lowveld received significant amounts of rain during the month of February. The persistent rain has been unprecedented and thus we had to go and see our favourite Sabie waterfall. A trip to the Bridal Veil is never in vain, but oh goodness! this was incredible! In 20 years I've never seen it in this splendor. Be sure to take an umbrella or rain coat, the misty spray is an unavoidable delight. It's regrettable that the road towards the entrance is in such poor condition, but if you take it slow it should be okay. Oh what fun to feel so alive in nature!

Lone Creek Falls, located just a short drive from Sabie, is a stunning 70-meter waterfall surrounded by indigenous forest. It offers easy pedestrian access and nearby parking. Visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of the falls along with amenities such as picnic facilities, a sandy beach, and a swimming pool. The site has been designated as a national monument due to its picturesque aesthetics and the surrounding indigenous vegetation in the kloof below the waterfall.
This is by far one of my favorite waterfalls in the area for the simple fact that you are so close to it. The spray from the impact is so refreshing as it hits your face and it is so relaxing to just stand there and breathe it in. The waterfall is just a short walk away from the car park and offeres a circular walk to the falls, through some trees and back. There is also a photo opportunity that is quite nice but it can get crowded and it always muddy due to the water. There is the option of a picnic onto of the falls but I never did that personally, so I can't accurately say how it is. I recommend going here with younger children too.
Jayden B — Google review
The waterfall is absolutely beautiful, but the road to get there, not so much. We nearly turned back but a car coming from the falls stopped and told us it's worth it. Well, my car survived and it was worth it. The falls are stunning. There are ablutions and a picnic area. Make sure you wear appropriate shoes as it's quite slippery. R50 entrance - card machine.

Went with my husband to see the water fall, We were first at Bridal Vail waterfall and the experience there was much better than lone creek, you walk and it's trees and boom you see the water fall and it's fenced off (unlike bridal Vail waterfall) and then you walk over a bridge and that's it . Nothing interesting or like the same as bridal Vail waterfall where you actually feel nature, have quite a hike and also see flowers, plants, hidden water falls were you can go and even the big watefall you can actually get a rock stand at the back of it feel everything and also we spend a lot more time there than here at lone creek. If we were at lone creek 15min in and out it's alot. We spend 4 hours at Bridal Vail waterfall and it was amazing, beautiful, an experience!! And so special, Would recommend lone creek falls for people who want to walk on concrete with their white Nike's and just have a look at a fenced waterfall to say " they were near the waterfall in Sabie" NOT FOR ADVENTUROUS PEOPLE, DOWN TO EARTH and people who actually want to experience the full course of nature and how beautiful it actually is. GO TO BRIDAL VAIL FALLS !!! I have a review on bridal Vail falls, go have a look at that photos and how beautiful it is people and how it actually looks like a fairytale.

I went there less than a week ago the price has changed to R50pp and it was beautiful with nice photography spots. The only problem l had was the road going there..
Theolene V — Google review
Lone creek Falls have forever been a part of my Sabie experience and will continue going forward, Its great to see the are being looked after, managed and cleaned. the additional facilities to braai and have a picnic, but should be managed accordingly as you are in nature and theres no need for cars to be blearing music that you can hear over the waterfall at the waterfall which was slighly dissapointing considering its quite a pricey entry fee to visit the waterfall at R75 per person as a south african resident which the gate keeper wouldnt take no for an answer as the published Prices are R36 at the more expensive end and he stated out ID and or Drivers license was not valid to get the SADC rates
Ruan B — Google review
Mpumalanga does it again with the falls. My only complaint is they have built barricades to restrict people from getting into the water but guys, these places are so gorgeous. Amazing thing about this falls is there is a walk towards the waterfall. The walk is sweet as the vegetation is pretty and soothing. The cherry on the top is the anticipation of the waterfall as it gets louder as u reach closer. Getting there is great, leaving is a problem coz u just won't want to leave. So soothing and amazing. God's creation is just so unchallenged.
Shaqueal “ — Google review
Very short Trail, waterfall not very specatular. Better to see other watefalls.
Maria O — Google review
Drive into and out of the falls was very bumpy and LOTS of pot holes. R36 entrance fee is reasonable, kids under 6 are free. Falls are beautiful and scenery well kept. Fencing to keep the crowds out of nature and safe from drowning. With the falls being less than 100m from the parking, very easy to visit.

Waterfalls
Mac Mac Falls is a stunning attraction in Mpumalanga, known for its twin waterfalls that drop 70 meters into a deep gorge. The falls are named after the Scottish miners who came to the area during the gold rush of the 1870s. While swimming at the falls is not permitted due to safety reasons, downstream from Mac Mac Pools offers an ideal spot for picnicking and swimming.
Do not drive past and miss out. Lovely to see. You are not supposed to walk down to the bottom of the falls, bit if you are South African and friendly to the staff they will show you which no entry sign to walk part to get down there.

Absolutely stunning view. It was very easy to find and a quick little walk down. The market ladies were friendly....a little persistent but friendly nun the less. R20 entry is nothing to pay for the experience.

B....E....A.....UUUUtiful falls. Nice and adequate parking and a small stroll to the view point. What I didn't like about this fall was how the view point is made. The fence bars are so high that they block/ hinder the view to this amazing fall. Thankfully i had a drone so i could bypass those bars but i think something like nearby falls (lisbon & berlin) could've been done which doesn't block your view.
Ammar M — Google review
There are several spots where you can sit and look at the waterfall. You just have to climb a few steps. If the first bench is taken, there's another one not far from there. The waterfall is stunning, especially against the backdrop of the side of the rocks. As it hit the bottom, it seemed to be smoking. Reminds me of the native beliefs around water. As usual, I don't post features because you must come see it for yourself. Again, a few ladies and gentlemen are selling things here. I think they could bring in some variety and target local tourists. Probably modernize what's for sale. The lady at security was friendly and efficient.

Really beautiful nature scene. I would recommend wearing comfortable shoes for the walk.

Short hike to the falls, great to see but the view is a little restricted. However it is definitely a must see when you are visiting the area or doing the Panorama Tour! 🏞️ Falls, Hike, View, Tour, Area. #Waterfall #Hike #Panorama #Travel

This was a must see. It’s beautiful and an easy walk down to the fall. It takes about 5min to get from your car to the view point. It was R20 entry.

R25 per person entrance. 5 minute walk from the entrance to the viewing deck of the falls. Falls are beautiful but nothing else to do or see at this stop.

Tamboti Tented Camp is a secluded and natural camp located by a river in the national park, offering a private and immersive experience in the South African bush. The camp is known for its abundant wildlife, including frequent visits from animals like wildebeest, baboons, and birds of prey. It provides an authentic bush atmosphere without the distractions of busier camps.
I believe in giving credit where it is due. The atmosphere at this tented camp is just out of this world. Been going to the Kruger since I was a child and the atmosphere and view from the deck is at least worth a top 10 of the Kruger in my books. Place was clean keeping in mind the amount of baboon activity. Plenty of game in the tented camp it self. Braai is a bit small but for two persons it's perfect. Just keep it in mind if you are planning on going here that this camp has no reception or shop, It's located on the banks of a river and therefore gets really cold at night.
Gert P — Google review
Beautifull tented houses in thick bush, feels like you are outside the fences. Shared bathrooms and kitchens are very clean and functional. The relentless onslaught of the monkeys trying to steal your food spoils it though, plus they have figured out the outside lockup cages, everything needs to be under constant supervision. Rather keep all food locked inside your tent. When the monkeys eventually retire for the night you have time to relax outside.
Werner V — Google review
The best camp ever. The toilets and showers perfectly clean and smelling fresh. It is isolated and quiet. Staff is friendly. Rooms spacious. Will definitely book a room again. Keep up the good work we appreciate you. Leana
Leana L — Google review
It is like camping with your tent already pitched. You have a comfortable bed with bedding and enough blankets. Towels are provided. The tent has electric lights and a fridge. No cutlery or crockery. No kitchen. Very clean shared ablutions and communal kitchen area.
Lucille S — Google review
We had an absolutely amazing stay. The rooms have basic facilities, a fan and fridge. The view wasn't great but the camp is under renovation and I think the extra TLC would do wonders for the camp.
Catherine S — Google review
Unfortunately the tent [14] allocated to us was definitely not ideal for older people. The braai was down a steep slope and uncomfortable stairs. Baboons and monkeys were a problem. Parking very far from the tent. Tent very dirty and the view from the deck non existent because it's so overground
Leon B — Google review
The place is what nightmares are made of. My friend booked this for us but if you look at the pictures and you look at the actual place there is a big difference. Also if you are a tourist this is NOT the place for you. There are no cutlery, no kettle, no cups, plates, NOTHING without warning on their site. It's a budget dump.
Christalle E — Google review
It's time to upgrade All the tents! It's unacceptable that some accommodation is better than others.. . Yet you pay the same price Shame on you, SANPARKS for putting older people in accommodation furthest away from their parking spots... no braai on the deck.... no basin..... yet young, able bodied people are given the upgraded units. You should also really do something about the aggressive Baboons terrorizing everyone in the camp.

Nestled in the heart of Mpumalanga, the Sudwala Caves stand as a testament to nature's artistry and history. Renowned as one of the oldest cave systems globally, these fascinating caverns invite visitors on an unforgettable journey through time. With their origins dating back approximately 240 million years, they are carved into ancient Precambrian dolomite rock.
This is a list of experiences to be cherished. The access road was in excellent condition. The restaurant offered great value, and the food and staff were truly exceptional. The caves were a magnificent sight, and our tour guide demonstrated expertise and genuine enthusiasm. We also enjoyed the zip lines, which were an unforgettable experience. Once again, the staff were outstanding, and the zip-lining provided breathtaking views.

Very worth the trip! The cave tour was very interesting and our guide was great. It lasted about 45 minutes. We also did the zip lining which was awesome! The staff were professional, friendly and fun. The facilities were very well kept. For these reasons we found the price of admission very reasonable. I would recommend visiting!

Great activity to do with the family. Very friendly to all ages with an exception to walking through a small passage (difficult for the elderly as you need to crouch). Decently priced and Shadrack was an amazing tour guide. More than welcome to take pics and spend time in the caves even when the guide is done. Awesome gift shop, has zip lining and a beautiful crystal tour that's approx 5hrs long but definitely worth it.

This was a great shared experience with our kids. Our guide, John, was an absolute star, answering any questions the young ones had, adding quirky comments with a clear passion for the tourism industry and his internship! Bonus points for also being a tour photographer :D They have tours every 15 - 20 minutes, so the wait is not long at all.
Nedine F — Google review
The experiance was amazing we paid R140 per person and our tour guide John was fantastic we learned alot about the cave men and also about how the caves developed its really a must to see great south african history
Angeliqe K — Google review
A beautiful spot in South Africa to visit. The cave is interesting, stalactites, stalagmite’s, fossils, high ceilings and deep - 600m. You can go deeper to the crystal chamber to experience the crystal cave which is a 6km round trip by booking in advance. Our guide was entertaining and informative, jokes were a bit cheesy, suited rather to school groups.

For those who want a close up and personal experience with these gentle giants, the Elephant Sanctuary is the place to be as they have interactions with elephants where you can feed them, give them water and even touch them or hug them for those of you who are adventurous. The trainers are very friendly and give very detailed and interesting information about the elephants. This is a once in a lifetime experience and the price isn't bad as well plus children are free under a certain age. I highly recommend this experience for everyone as well as foreigners in the area as you won't regret it.

Come here to get your education about elephants and see up close these beautiful gentle giants! We came as part of our tour and the group wasn’t too big. First, you get a nice introduction of the elephants and see a bit of their personalities. The handlers tell of the elephants backgrounds and information on each individual elephant. Then you get to have a hands on experience with the elephants and can even go for a short walk with them (extra $). Overall, the handlers seemed to care extensively for the elephants and we really enjoyed getting to hear statistics about them! Definitely recommend if you are an animal lover.

I had an absolutely amazing time, we met Tembo upclose but the other lovely elephants(Lindiwe, Andile, Shamwari and the cute bull named after a tree I forgot his name 🙃😘) showed us some amazing tricks they learned. It was an educational experience — the team allowed us to also ask Tembo to do some tricks for us. Experiencing these majestic creatures so close and even getting to hug them was amazing. I got the 1hr interaction which comprised of about 30m learning and 30m playtime with Tembo. 😍

We had the most amazing time at Perry’s reptile park. An extensive and beautiful exhibit, the animals are well cared for and the staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. My son will have these fond memories forever! Thank you to Jovial Jason who made our family holiday even more special.

Must see reptile park with wide variety of interesting snakes, tortoises, monitors, frogs, spiders, crocodiles and other reptiles. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. All exhibits and animals are well maintained. Great day out as it is close to a lot of shops and restaurants. There are also a lot of feedings throughout the day that might be worth wile planning around, but you can also just pitch up.

The owner is super enthusiastic and passionate about the park and it's creatures and it shows. The talk was super informative and full of passion. The park's animals are all well fed, cages well kept and the park self was also clean and well kept. The curious shop offered some of the most reasonably priced curio items in the area. Staff is friendly. Overall a great experience with two Dragon species I've never seen in my life before.

Perry’s Bridge Reptile Park is a must-visit gem in Hazyview—especially for the 11:00 a.m. venomous snake presentation, which is as thrilling as it is educational. Tucked into lush tropical gardens, Perry’s Bridge Reptile Park offers a captivating blend of adventure, conservation, and hands-on learning. From the moment you step inside, you’re immersed in a world of fascinating creatures—massive constrictors, vibrant lizards, curious tortoises, and even crocodiles lounging in their enclosures. But the true highlight? The 11:00 a.m. venomous snake demonstration. This isn’t just a show—it’s an eye-opening, expertly delivered presentation that demystifies some of the world’s most feared reptiles. The handlers are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, weaving together science, safety, and storytelling in a way that keeps both kids and adults riveted. You’ll leave with a newfound respect for these misunderstood animals and a deeper appreciation for the role they play in our ecosystems. The park is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out, making it easy to explore at your own pace. Whether you’re a family with curious kids, a wildlife enthusiast, or just looking for something unique to do , this place delivers.

Coming from someone who is mild afraid of reptiles as a whole I had a fun time — the interaction helped clear some fears for me and seeing these snakes, and lizards. Learning about the diet, and some more characteristics made them a lot less scary. The best part was getting to touch what I thought would be a scary scaly creature turned out to be the best part of my afternoon. The Boas 🐍 were so beautiful, so cooling lol it was a hot day and the girls were so friendly too they love being handled. They were not even scaly at all just oh so cute and smooth. Saw some iguanas and loads more lizards. And beautiful spiders too, some geckos and frogs. 🐸 🦎 🕷 The crocs were also cool to see, the Nile crocs are in their 40s and they are huge. Both them and the alligators had recently had babies and we got to see the babies. 🐊

The Lowveld National Botanical Garden offers an exceptional visitor experience, showcasing both natural beauty and ecological diversity. The rainforest section is particularly impressive, providing an immersive environment that highlights the region’s unique flora. The Cascade Waterfall is another outstanding feature, presenting a striking visual focal point and enhancing the overall ambience of the garden. While the site is well-maintained, there is an observable concern regarding waste accumulation in certain areas of the Crocodile River, where plastic bottles and paper occasionally collect. This underscores the importance of visitor responsibility in preserving the ecological integrity of the space. In conclusion, the garden remains a premier destination for relaxation, education, and environmental appreciation, deserving of the highest rating.

Playing at Skukuza Golf Club was an unforgettable experience! This bucket list course gives you the rare chance to play golf right in the middle of Kruger National Park. The layout is challenging, with some tough holes. Plus, seeing wildlife on the drive to the course makes it even more unique. The hospitality is top-notch. Our waitress was warm and attentive, and the staff overall were friendly and helpful. We had breakfast and lunch on the deck, and the food and coffee were fantastic—a perfect spot to relax and take in the view. As for the course itself, while the recent hollow tining on the greens was expected, I had hoped for better fairway and rough conditions for the price. It could use a bit more care, but that didn’t take away from the overall experience. Highly recommend booking ahead and aiming for the last morning tee time to make the most of your journey through the park (keep in mind the 40km/h limit). Overall, it’s a must-do for any golfer, a truly memorable experience that I’d recommend to everyone.
Stu M — Google review
Played some golf at the wildest course on Earth—literally. The 9th hole is a cheeky little 140m par 3… over a dam full of actual hippos and crocodiles. No fences. No nets. Just you, your ball, and a reminder that nature always wins. Miss the green short? You’re not fishing that ball out unless you’ve got a death wish and a spare leg. On the plus side, I played fast. It’s amazing how quickly you line up a putt when you can hear hippos grunting behind you. Would 100% play again—assuming I survive the first round. Bring extra balls. And maybe a life insurance policy. 🐊🏌️‍♂️🦛

Beautiful course, full of wildlife. First 3 holes are heavily guarded by water but the course opens up nicely yet remains challenging throughout
Casey P — Google review
The only thing ‘wild’ about this place is the fact people still pay to play here There is major construction work throughout the entire course & it was practically unplayable throughout the entire round. Rocks, sand, diggers smashing things. There were NO wildlife because of all the construction. It was just a big fat scam. So deeply disappointed - extended our day safari and really regret visiting this place. Avoid at all costs.

Our whole family got food poisoning from the restaurant and were all sick for the rest of our trip. After other tables left, the staff lingered to clean up and the monkeys were sitting on the tables, licking the glasses and trying to bite open the ketchup. None of it was cleaned up afterwards or even sprayed with a sanitizer. It’s such a shame since it’s our favorite place to take an afternoon breather in the Kruger. Even though the food was good and the view even better, we will not be visiting there again for the risk of getting sick.

Chimp Eden is an incredible place doing vital work in chimpanzee conservation and rehabilitation. Visiting the sanctuary is both educational and moving—you get to learn about the individual chimps’ stories, many of whom were rescued from heartbreaking situations. The guided tour is informative, respectful, and well-paced, offering a close (yet safe) look at these amazing animals in a natural and peaceful setting. The staff are clearly passionate and knowledgeable, and their care for the chimps shines through. It’s a must-visit if you’re in the area—perfect for families, animal lovers, or anyone wanting to support ethical wildlife efforts. Truly humbling and unforgettable.

We took the late tour and were the only guests, which made it a wonderfully private experience. Our guides, Conell and Martin, were absolutely amazing, so passionate and knowledgeable. Conell shared the background stories of each individual chimp, which was truly lovely to hear. We especially enjoyed meeting Jessica (the boss lady) and the wonder baby Thabu. Thank you for the fantastic experience and the important work you’re doing. Keep it up!

I had the most amazing experience there today. It was so eye opening to hear the stories these beautiful animals have been through, my heart was broken to hear how horrible humans are. But visiting today made my whole heart feel full. Seeing how beautiful and happy these chimps are and the amazing work all the lovely people have put in to make a beautiful safe and happy environment for them. Thank you to Natasha for the lovely tour and for being so informative, friendly and for loving these chimps so much. The connection between them is incredible.

The amount of bottles and rubbish strewn around, especially at the Green Stone view site, is a disaster! Could those people please stop and take their rubble home... Kruger Pride Safaris offers an exceptional experience for visitors to the Kruger National Park. The company's knowledgeable and friendly guides provide a high vantage point from their vehicles, allowing guests to spot a variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and more. Visitors praise the company for its welcoming and well-informed staff members who go out of their way to ensure a memorable experience.
My husband and I spent three full days on safari, and it was absolutely incredible — largely thanks to our amazing ranger, Hayley. From day one, we were blown away by her knowledge and dedication. We were lucky enough to spot 4 out of the Big 5 on the first day alone! But what truly stood out was how much we learned beyond the animals — Hayley shared so much insight about the trees, plants, and ecosystem throughout each drive. Her passion for wildlife was not only evident but contagious. Watching her work so diligently to track animals inspired us to take part in the search ourselves — and every sighting felt like a thrilling team victory. Seeing the sun rise over the park was an unforgettable bonus, and Hayley made sure we soaked in every magical moment. We were also deeply impressed by Hayley’s kindness and leadership. She treated her fellow rangers with respect and went out of her way to support families who chose self-guided drives. Her patience, wisdom, and warm spirit made us feel proud to have her as our ranger. In our eyes, she’s the BEST! Hayley is a natural leader, and we truly believe she should be in a management role — her talent and heart would elevate any team. A huge thank you to Hayley for making our safari experience not just memorable, but meaningful. We’ll never forget it!

Our time in Kruger National Park was truly unforgettable, thanks to our incredible ranger, Hayley. Her knowledge, passion, and sharp eyes made our game drive so special — we learnt so much and loved every moment. Hayley has such a genuine love for wildlife and an amazing ability to spot and explain everything we saw, turning each sighting into a fascinating story. She made us feel completely at ease and ensured the drive was both exciting and educational. We feel so lucky to have had her as our guide — she’s not only an outstanding ranger but also a wonderful person. I’m already planning to return to Kruger next year, and I’ll definitely be booking again!

Hayley Myburgh was our tour guide in the half day Kruger National Park game drive and she was absolutely amazing! She knew exactly what she was doing, extremely knowledgeable and got us to see some amazing sights today, including a kill and feed of Hyena’s and Wild dogs pack! She was on a hunt until we got to see a lioness! Thanks again Hayley, we will do the tour with you most definitely again! Thanks Kruger Pride Safaris for the great experience!

Hayley showed us around the park for two days. Hayley is a lady who is passionate about her work and gives excellent explanations about the behavior and appearance of the animals. We saw the Big 5 during our safari trip and it was an amazing experience we will never forget!! It is so surreal to see the animals up close. We felt safe and enjoyed every moment. Hayley, you are a super guide!

Hayley was an energetic guide who is truly passionate about what she does. Her knowledge on the animals was amazing and she was willing to share information and stories throughout the day. Wonderful visit to Matsamo Cultural Village near the border of Eswatini. Swazi culture is explained and celebrated at this traditional village. The tour started with a song and dance performance. The vocal harmonies will give you goosebumps and their voices are so powerful - no microphones needed here! A small group of us got a special encore performance of Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika the South African national anthem after other groups had left. We were then shown inside the main hut - where the village grandmother lives who is the matriarch of the community. We were then served a delicious buffet lunch with an array of hot foods in clay pots and an extensive salad bar. The condiments bar was next level (see photo!) Special praise to the lovely chef who came out to talk to me when I asked how the spaghetti dish with beans was made (it was the best). Dessert was banoffee pie with ice cream - also delicious. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Unsure of cost as it was included in trip.

We went to the restaurant Food was nice - we had the steak special that is a 300g rump, a handful of fat cut chips and 6 and a half onion rings. The meal also came with draught. The Stella Artois was so flat you could iron clothes on it. It took 45 mins to get to us which started testing my patience, especially because the place wasn’t as busy as I’m sure it can get. Views were lovely. The hot sauce - 7/10. Not a jam place but was a little underwhelmed if I’m honest.

This golf course is a real gem , the fairways are well maintained and lush. The undulating greens can be very challenging and if you are in the area, this is a worthy experience. The Maputo Central Railway Station is a charming colonial-style train station that was named the third most beautiful in the world by Time magazine in 2015. Visitors can explore the building and tracks, learn about its history and that of Mozambique through various exhibits and informational displays. Outside, a bustling market has formed where buses drop off many passengers. Although lively outside, inside it is serene with occasional trains bringing life to the station.
Beautiful place and affordable trains🔥💯

A must visit if you’re in Maputo. Historic train station that takes you back to the bygone romance of train travel. Visit the museum and learn about the history of one of the most beautiful train stations in the world. Loved the architecture. Across the station are some excellent examples of Pancho Guedes architecture.
Meruschka ( — Google review
A nice old train station built in colonial style. There are a lot of information telling the story of the building and the history of Mozambique. You can stroll around and discover the building and tracks and with a little luck a train will fill the station with life. In front of the building the busses spit out a lot of people and a small market has established. It’s full and crowded outside but quiet inside.
Contare M — Google review
A definite must to visit if/when you're in Maputo....as you walk in you may be met by Charles who will offer to be your guide, for a tip, and you can choose to accept or decline. If you accept, Charles personal stories of how he went to study economics in Cuba, sponsored by the, then, socialist government, before being called back early, before graduating and has worked as a guide at the station since then....very interesting. The station is beautiful and you can walk around and visit the historic restaurant for food or drink - a very cool place. You can also pay 100 MTZ to enter the museum, which is well worth it and walk along the interior of the old Belgian train. It's, cool and relaxed and conjures up images of a colonial past.
Agberolistic — Google review
Designed in French Beaux-Arts style and completed in 1916, Maputo's central railway station is testament to a time when the railways were at their highpoint early 1900s. Train stations in those days almost had the same prestigious status as a cathedral. Those times are clearly over. The final blow for the Mozambican railways came after independence in 1975, when an exodus of qualified personnel took place and the railway system almost collapsed. Though the station is still operational (three lines for transport of passengers remain) it is not longer a mass transportation hub. People in Mozambique prefer to take buses. The main bus station Junta is way out of town.
MEHULRAJ N — Google review

Casa de Ferro

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
The Casa de Ferro is a historical landmark that was imported from Belgium in 1892 to serve as the governor-general's residence. Located within the vicinity of other notable tourist attractions, this iron house may be considered a fascinating colonial relic. Although its exterior presents an interesting sight, there is not much to see inside. Nevertheless, it holds significant cultural value and is recommended for tourists seeking to immerse themselves in the local history and culture.
Antonio Macanja gave such so much information on Moçambique, he is a walking encyclopedia I could sit there the whole day learming about history from him. The place is clean and well maintained piece of history and they have beautiful local art pieces. Was worth the visit❣️
Keneuwe H — Google review
Interesting house with evidently lots of history. Unfortunately it is neither beautiful nor accessible to the public, but while you’re in the area it is well worth having a look.
Thomas M — Google review
A house made of iron prefabricated in Belgium parachuted in the capital of a Portugese colony in the tropics! It was meant to serve as a residence of the Portugese governor, but ever since 1892 the year it was erected offices went in and out. It was just too hot inside. Perhaps a good example of how ignorant the initial Portugese rulers were about local conditions. For me a surprise that Gustave Eiffel did the design. Was the man as backward as his clients or was he just not interested in far-away territories? There was an interesting exhibition of paintings in the hot house. Entrance fee 100 Meticais
MEHULRAJ N — Google review
Didn’t go inside as we were in a rush, but interesting none the less. Designed by Gustav Eiffel for the then governor of Lorenzo Marques, even though Eiffel never been to Mozambique, the Iron House is made of iron... not at all practical in the cities tropical climate. The governor never ended up living there! There’s a craft shop that’s also worth a visit and the impressive statue of Samora Machel across the traffic circle.
Meruschka ( — Google review
Interesting place to visit, in the area where the main, historic tourist attractions are. Iron house for the governor to live in.....wow! Who's crazy idea was that - another colonial mistake, but fascinating all the same.

FEIMA Craft Fair in Maputo is a must-visit for those looking to purchase unique souvenirs and gifts. The fair showcases the work of local artists and artisans, ranging from batik paintings to wooden handicrafts and traditional capulanas. Secure parking is available at the market, which offers a variety of crafts for sale at negotiable prices. In addition to shopping, FEIMA also features restaurants with an extensive menu that includes both local and international cuisine.
Very nice place to buy souvenirs. A tip: don't buy from the first sellers after entering, they will be quite aggressive in trying to sell, but there are hidden gems inside the fair, e.g. Ms. Felicia, who herself sews amazing stuff (clothes, bags, purses) from African print fabric, very much high quality, also other sellers who really make their stuff themselves instead of reselling Chinese merch. Be prepared to bargain and use mosquito spray, they do bite there even during the day.
Alicja B — Google review
The food at the Artistas Restaurant was amazing and the vendors who displayed their crafts were of a very high standard. I most particularly loved the lady who crocheted large table clothes. Just so beautiful!!
Faatin B — Google review
The place is ok with several options of typical handicrafts, sourvenirs, paints, etc. What is bothering are the locals insisting to buy something, which give no time to really focus in some interesting stuff, just want to go away...this is exactly the opposite of their intentions.
Marcelo T — Google review
I had mixed feeling about this place. The park is nice for a walk and many shops and artworks here and there, many local made which is nice. But some are just touristic style of souvenirs. What is disturbing is that sellers just pop up in front of you and offer their stuff. Some just follow you and keep shouting asking you to get a "free look" that ends with a story about how much they need your money to leave for food/kids/etc.. I bought few things I liked, some shop keepers are really decent. But it felt disturbing and unconformable being stalked while walking from others. One thing more. Always negotiate the price, initial prices are super inflated. But keep in mind that you are supporting these people so be a bit kind too! In general prices here are cheaper than those cross you in the streets in other touristic areas.
Mohsen S — Google review
Experience was good, the place to be for souvenirs, art crafts, fridge magnets, etc.

Museums
The Museu de Historia Natural is a museum showcasing taxidermy animals and videos on local eco-systems in a grand, Portuguese-style hall from 1911. Despite being an interesting attraction to visit, the exhibits are not well-maintained nor restored, with many of the taxidermy animals decaying due to the lack of proper care. The admission fee is 100MZN (R25) pp as of February 2022.
Excellent Museum for all age groups. Very well maintained and extremely detailed. All foreigners above the age of 11 must pay 300 metical each to enter. All nationals above the age of 11 have to pay 100 metical each to enter. Children below 11 (foreigner or national) have no entrance fee.

Museum of Natural History, located in the centre of Maputo city easily accessible. It shows most wildlife in Mozambique(including some African countries) with a section with crafts from old times in Mozambique. Really worth visiting. The entrance fee is reasonable.
Elsa M — Google review
The building itself is beautiful. The collections are what you would see in a Natural History Museum elsewhere with the exception of the elephant foetuses preserved in formaldehyde which are fascinating.
Rafael R — Google review
I used to come here as a child all the time; it had been a few years since my last visit, and I wasn't dissapointed. Everything was exactly as I remembered it, which isn't really the best thing, as some information was outdated (the evolutionary tree, that sort of thing), but it is a magical place, and truly somewhere one must visit when in Maputo. The building is beautiful, but sadly, there is no wheelchair accessibility; a flight of stairs inside, too. Some of the taxidermy is a little funny, but a lot of effort and care went into the placement of the animals.
Lari H — Google review
The museum is a nice attraction to visit. It's very sad that the exhibits are not being maintained and restored. Many of the taxidermy animals are decaying. The museum is very hot side as there is no aircons that is working. Entrance is 100MZN (R25) pp - February 2022 price. The gardens outside is not being maintained is has lots of rubbish. There are some dinosaur replicas with info plates next to them. I would recommend for anyone visiting Maputo for the first time.
Nerika M — Google review
Nice natural history museum. May not be the largest there is, but the guided tour is informative and entertaining, especially for children. There's a lot of information about Mozambican animals.
Rodrigo P — Google review
The exhibits were interesting but some rooms or walkways were not accessible due to maintenance needing to be done. We found the outdoor dinosaurs fun and some of the indoor exhibits very interesting though. Worth the visit, just wish it was in better shape.
Lindy R — Google review
The building itself is beautiful. The collections are what you would see in a Natural History Museum elsewhere with the exception of the elephant foetuses preserved in formaldehyde which are fascinating. However they were cultivated when the colonial government decided to clear the forested area South of Maputo and in the process slaughtered about two thousand elephants.
