Points of Interest & Landmarks
Worth the visit, @ R20 p/p. Unfortunately the old white man who manages the entrance and access was not kind or welcoming and that changed as soon as as white patrons came through. Otherwise the tree is amazingly big and also has an access to go inside and also a ladder to get to the top. It's one of the reminders of our beautiful country and various exhibitions Mzansi has on offer!
Gary S — Google review
It's a massive tree. The inside is hollowed out, and there's steps to climb into the trwe. However, not everyone would fit through the narrow entrance. Apparently, the tree is more than 3000 years old. There's a lot of "stories" about the tree however I don't believe some of the stories. The campsite is below grade. I wouldn't spend more than a day at the site.
F S — Google review
What a wonderful trip to the 3800 year old Baobab tree. Thank you Dawie for your dedication and special talent to explain the facts of the tree to us. We will come back to spend more time at your special place. We were so lucky to see the one “late” very special flower on the tree today - which was awesome. The R20.- per person are well spent.
Savanha B — Google review
Worth the detour. R20 entrance pp for a guided tour by Dawie, we thoroughly enjoyed every moment, it was very informative. The gravel road is in good condition.
Elanie B — Google review
A must visit if you’re in the area! Only a few km off the main road, it is well worth the trip to see the 3800 year old giant baobab and learn about its history from the friendly host, David (English and Afrikaans) and his gorgeous dog, Jumbo. David is happy to take photos for you, there are clean toilet facilities and it’s a relaxing environment with benches to sit on.
Natasha W — Google review
Interesting little venue. You can take your picnic there and use their braai for cooking your meat if you wish. A nice little interlude. Beautiful tree.
Barbra W — Google review
Such an amazing place to visit! Dave and his lovely tiny dog Jumbo are an absolute pleasure to meet too. Don't miss a visit here!
Kirsten T — Google review
What an incredible tree! Highly recommend stopping here and learning about its fascinating history. David, the custodian is full of knowledge and is a major asset to this important site. Entrance is R20 per person, please take cash. There are toilets, braai facilities and a tuck shop. David also sells some beautiful hand painted curios so take extra cash and show some support. We will definitely return!

Tshukudu Game Lodge

Lodge
Nature & Parks
Tshukudu Game Lodge is a wildlife resort offering comfortable accommodations, a restaurant, outdoor pool, and bar. The lodge provides complimentary WiFi and private parking. Some rooms feature a minibar and kitchenette. Guests have praised the cleanliness of the units and the abundance of excellent food, particularly the 5-star breakfast. The staff is known for being friendly and helpful.
Our family had an amazing experience at Tshukudu! The accommodations (Cottage and Safari Tent) were perfect, and having our own pool overlooking the reserve was perfect for the family! The outdoor shower at the tent -- showering under the milky way! -- was an amazing way to end the day. I had a late-night Elephant visit me at the tent's fence line, which was an unexpected thrill. The meals were all top notch, and the staff was so kind and accommodating. The best parts, of course, were the game drives. Our guide Tyler was so much fun -- and went out of his way to answer questions for the kiddos and to make sure we had sightings of all the animals! We had sightings of all of the big 5 at the reserve -- and even saw leopard cubs! (And also saw so many others, like giraffe and cheetahs). Tshukudu lived up to its name with over 20 rhinos (many juveniles) -- we saw rhinos every day! Overall, we had a wonderful stay and highly recommend!
Katherine K — Google review
The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was big with plenty of hot water. We would like to have had more lights in the bedroom and bathroom. In the bedroom, there was only one fluorescent light on one wall. The food was fresh and delicious. The bread was freshly baked as well the desserts. At breakfast, we could have an omelette made to order. Dinner was generally a buffet with chicken and another protein course, Along with salad, greens and vegetables and some type of rice or potato. Plenty of water was provided to each guest in the room and on the game drives. But you were charged extra for the water if you asked for it at a meal Outdoor seating for Meals was enjoyable. The birds often enjoyed eating toast or croissants that were left unattended. Many of the animals in the area would come up to the Electric fence, which was close to each dwelling. Giraffes lions and warthogs were frequent visitors. A pair of white ducks moved from Patio to patio, hoping for some breadcrumbs. Definitely driving distance for a day trip to Kruger national Park. Staff was friendly and helpfu.
Shirley M — Google review
It was an experience, the staff was absolutely great and professional, the food was delicious. A cherry on top was when the team at dinner sang Happy Birthday for me....As we were checking out and I was looking at the Tshukudu caps, the manager walked by and said, "Give this man a Cap" and I was given a cap for free, that was so sweet.....We love the place and will certainly return....
Tom N — Google review
Hi Team, We only attended for a Game Drive. We are pleased that we weren't staying as the Lodge is in poor state and clearly needs investment and a maintenance plan. I had read some or your Google reviews they clearly show the improvements you need to make. You are way behind the quality of your neighbours and others in the general Hoedspruit area. Maybe you should start doing something to improve before it's too late. Johnson our Game Ranger was knowledgeable but didn't introduce himself without being prompted. Hopefully you will start to act on the feedback guests are giving you.
Dutchie C — Google review
A Lovely place in the bushveld for some rest and relaxation. THe staff are friendly and helpful. The food is good South African fare served outside in the boma. Game viewing was ok and our guide knowlegeable and friendly. Overall a pleasant weekend well worth the cost for the last minute special.
Michele F — Google review
If you’ve ever wondered what a 1980s time capsule crossed with a safari high school camp looks like, this is it. Our carpet appeared to have survived an animal attack, the mosquito net had enough holes to qualify as a fishing net (five mosquitoes inside before lights out), and the faucets clearly haven’t met soap in decades. Windows are rusted shut, bed linen is like sandpaper, and your ‘full board’ doesn’t include coffee — that’s extra. Meals are salt bombs, water is rationed to 500 ml for two people, and hot water is apparently a myth. The staff and rangers are lovely, but they’re trapped in a place that charges $200 a night for the privilege of sleeping. Call it ‘authentic African safari’ if your idea of authentic is rust, rationing, and regret. The only redeeming feature is the friendly staff and capable game rangers, but at $200 a night, this place isn't worth it. Avoid it — your African safari deserves far better.
André-Pierre P — Google review
We had an amazing time Aubrey was a great guide giving us information about trees plants and birds as well as making sure we had close up views of the game. All the staff were really friendly. All in all a great stay

Wise, our guide went over and above to get us to see a leopard eating his kill. His explanations of the eco system were so important to us. The food was wonderful and the staff responsive to our needs.

Located in Limpopo, Jessica the Hippo's riverside home is a must-visit for animal lovers. Rescued as a baby, Jessica's heartwarming story unfolds at this nature reserve where visitors can interact with her. Despite their wild nature, Jessica and her calf are described as gentle and peaceful creatures by those who have encountered them. The bond between the hippos and their caretaker is evident, creating a unique experience for visitors.
Was lovely to see Jessica the world famous Hippo again. Luka her calf is getting big and Seun the other male Hippo too. Usa guests loved it.
Elize O — Google review
This was such an amazing experience to feed, and pet and kiss a hippo! The story is remarkable as is the owner and all the staff. If you have the opportunity to visit Jessica do not hesitate!!!
Elaina F — Google review
Unbelievable experience. A must do on the bucket list. Great owner, who was kind to change our booking time and greeted us well on arrival even though we were running a little bit late. Caring people look after beautiful gracious animals. Once in a life experience you should do, 100% recommended. Very affordable and unforgettable! Do it 💯%!
Sergey А — Google review
A pleasant time spent. Booked in advance and paid afterward (it's a bit of a tourist trap when you pay). We should be able to pay online or upon arrival. We ended up waiting in line. But I recommend the place; it's very interesting for children and adults. Thank you for your welcome.

Incredible story ans sharing with Jessica the hippo and her family. If you are a lady you may give her a kiss 💋 Such a curious and amazing experience. Be punctual, she won't wait for you for her lunch !
Cyrielle T — Google review
The story behind Jessica the Hippo is both fascinating and heartwarming. Being able to feed and touch a hippo is somewhat surreal and humbling as they are truly magnificent animals. If you are in the area then it's absolutely worth making the trip. Thank you Patricia and team.
Tim W — Google review
Patricia is definetly the right person at the right place. She has deep knowledge of the hippos , knows exactly how to behave with them and especially she loves them and is very attentive to their wellbeeing. That’s why we had such a true experience with her and Jessica and her baby. I will no longer see the hippos as killers as I often read they are. Just learn how to behave and respect animals as we should all learn to. Thanks a lot Patricia for giving us such a wonderful lesson of life.💝
MARIANNE G — Google review
Truly a once in a lifetime experience! I joined the tours and also stayed overnight at the accommodation, which I highly recommend. Staying over offers a more relaxed, personal atmosphere, where you get to quietly observe the hippos throughout the day whenever they’re around. An unforgettable way to connect with nature.

The Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre, located in the Limpopo province, is a wildlife refuge dedicated to the conservation of rare and endangered species such as cheetahs, white rhinos, leopards, African wild dogs, and ground hornbills. The center offers bush safaris where visitors can embark on a 2-hour tour to meet these resident animals up close.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre. I enjoyed the entire experience. It started off with a short informative introductory video, followed by a game drive. During the drive, we traversed through various enclosures, encountering diverse endangered species. While all the animals were impressive, the king cheetahs stole the show for me. Having seen multiple cheetahs before, it was amazing to behold these uniquely spotted ones. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly, ensuring we had ample time to observe each species without rushing us. The centre also has a convenient shop where visitors can grab snacks and drinks before or after the game drive. Overall, my experience at the centre was fantastic. The centre's dedication to conservation and education is evident in every aspect of the visit. In my opinion, the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre is a must-visit for anyone passionate about wildlife and conservation.

Wow. They are doing incredible work to ensure that our endangered Wildlife continues to exist. The facilities are great. Educational and interactive. Excellent service and value for money. Nice restaurant with yummy food on site, freshly made.
Theresa P — Google review
Great place, the work they do with the animals are admirable. The guide told.about the place and animals, which was great. It was done on autopilot from our guide, but we still enjoyed it...
Hanne U — Google review
We did this outing a few years back so it was lovely to see how it’s changed since. There was less animals than I remembered but the facilities are first class. My teens loved the Leopard and yes the King Cheetah is gorgeous! We had a lovely guide - Ruhan I think - who was very knowledgable, informative and friendly. It’s not cheap for domestic tourists but definitely worth it as you can see what the money is used for.
Jacky M — Google review
Really enjoyed seeing the different animals. They do a great job in taking care of the animals. Very knowledgeable guides. Would definitely be back.
Bryan B — Google review
Very nice place, with guides that have slot of knowledge about alle the animals. Have been here two times now and it is definitely a good drive worth.
Mikkel I — Google review
A favorite family stop over place for lunch or drinks when we travel in the area. Beautiful facilities that are normally very quiet during the off season and we'll worth the visit. There are 2 tours with open safari vehicles at 9 and 11am to see certain big 5 animals in enclosed camps. The ambience and relax nature are inviting but note they close at 14h00 pm.
Orlando S — Google review
Great experience! It is amaizing to see how passionate these people are about their animals and the fantastic work they are doing! We got to drive into a cheetah camp on an open vehicle, which was a thrilling experience! Also got to see the vultures being fed which is magnificent! The guide was informed and very friendly. The animals are in very good shape and cared for. Well worth the time and money spend.

The Hoedspruit Reptile Centre is a must-visit destination in Limpopo, offering an educational and fun outing for the whole family. The dedicated team at the centre is committed to conserving and relocating endangered reptiles through research and informative tours. Visitors are greeted by friendly staff like Susan, who make them feel welcome even on rainy days. The well-maintained enclosures provide self-guided tours with plenty of information about the reptiles and spiders housed there.
There are a LOT of venomous snakes to see, it seems to be the specialization of this Centre. Overall a small venue, but with enough to keep you busy for a good 2hrs. A big thank you to Christine who gave a very informative presentation in the main arena, showing off several snakes. Because of her friendliness and knowledge, we would love to come back time and again.
L — Google review
I would just like to give a big shout out to Given Ndlovu from Hoedspruit Reptile park. Given really went the extra mile allowing my daughter to feed the chameleon some worms. He also allowed her to hold the snake around her neck and even took a few photos for us. All the animals there are really well taken care off. There is safety procedures in place as well so children can't fall into the crocodile enclosures. Thank you very much Sharlene Collins and Given Ndlovu for making my daughter birthday so special. We will definitely be visiting again.
Nadine S — Google review
I would 100% recommend Hoedspruit Reptile Centre to anyone who wants to learn more about Reptiles. We love to go and we learn something new every time.
Maritza T — Google review
Got up close and personal with some amazing wildlife, including snakes galore and the biggest iguana I’ve ever seen in my life. Definitely worth an hour or two.
Calvin O — Google review
We visit regularly. Improvements have been done on enclosures and you can really see a difference. The reptiles are cared for well. Also a great venue for birthday parties. The kids loved the interactions and live handling which was so informative. Small restaurant and tuckshop on premises.
Tilana K — Google review
Wonderful place. Beautiful, and very clean enclosures. Healthy animals and friendly staff. An over all wonderful experience at a very good cost. Can highly recommend for people who like reptiles as well as those that may not - you may just be pleasantly surprised!
Rhulani S — Google review
I took the self guided tour and it was quite straight forward, I saw all types of different reptiles from around the world. The self guided tour is just the basic. You can do more here and the staff is always ready to answer your questions.
Pfrlo — Google review
Had an amazing experience, very informative and educational. Reptiles are well kept. We loved every moment of it, the best part was taking pictures with a snake. There's also a Deli that sells yummy sandwiches and chips(fries).

Nestled at the foot of the breathtaking north-eastern Lowveld Drakensberg mountain range, the Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Centre is a sanctuary dedicated to healing and caring for injured and abandoned wildlife. This remarkable facility not only rehabilitates animals from across South Africa but also offers educational tours that provide visitors with an insightful look into the challenges these creatures face due to human impact, such as poaching.
Excellent Rehabilitation centre. Caring and helpful towards animals in need and an eye opener about nature and the impact we as humans have on nature and wildlife. My guests always loves the tours and I can highly recommend a tour at Moholoholo. Been supporting them for many many years.
Elize O — Google review
This was my first time doing a full day tour with one of our student groups, and I absolutely loved it! As a biologist I have worked with an visited many rehab centres and sanctuaries, and seen many guided experiences. Ethan our guide was fabulous, definitely one of the best I have seen, giving good factual knowledge, knowing his stuff, and interacting with the group really well! Becky also gave us an excellent tour of the current rehab cases and discussed the important work they do!
Mark B — Google review
This place gave a great up close experience to see the animals that have been rehabilitated. I also like the fact that their goal is to release the ones that are able, back into the wild.
Kris — Google review
This centre does a wonderful job in educating the public, including school children, about conservation and poaching. The guide was entertaining and knowledgeable, and there is a range of beautiful animals here to learn about, from dassies to black leopards. Such a great experience!
Jarrod I — Google review
We went to Moholoholo to visit Stoffel the Honey badger. But we got so much more. Moholoholo is dedicated to animal conservation, education, and rehabilitation. The work they do is vital in preserving the jewels of Africa, their beautiful wildlife. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and funny. Shout out to Moses, who was brilliant and making us all laugh while still emphasising the seriousness of the effects of poaching. The animals you can visit there are the animals that could not be released back into the wild due to injury or because they had had too much human contact for various reasons. Moholoholo does NOT show animals currently in rehab to the public to prevent them from being unable to be released back into the wild. The work they do is important. The animals in their care are well looked after, and we will definitely return. My only complaint is that the gift shop was closed after the tour so I never did get my Stoffel Teeshirt. Sucks to be me. It does not suck to support the Moholoholo rehab facility. Amazing.
Amanda S — Google review
This rehabilitation centre is very well run. The animals are very well cared for, the facility is very neat, clean and tidy as are the bathrooms. The shop is well kitted and the food kiosk has ample food selection. Nathan was extremely informative and had answers to the many questions. This facility is well worth a visit, they can't continue their excellent work without our support. Please give them your support.
Tania L — Google review
Got a great tour! They have a great perspective on animal rehab and they don't sugar coat the rehab process. Great policies on preventative human imprint on animals. Definitely give them your support if you can!

The Three Rondavels, also known as The Three Sisters, are a stunning trio of mountain peaks that resemble traditional African beehive huts. A definite must see location. It is extremely beautiful and you could just sit for hours watching the view

Take some time to bond with nature. This place is gorgeous 😍. Don't do this if you have fear of heights. The barriers are limited. Majestic views, so breathtaking, if you have a drone, this is a place to fly. Some hike, if you have the nuts for it. There are markets for merch. Don't snooze for this place. Downside is that there are limited vantage points but you won't regret it. Enjoy & please be safe!!!

One of the best viewpoints in South Africa! There’s a small entrance fee (cash/card accepted) and a short walk from the parking lot to the main viewing area. Clear signage, decent facilities, and absolutely stunning views of the canyon and the Three Rondavels.
Kim K — Google review
An absolutely stunning viewpoint! The Three Rondavels is one of those places that truly captures the magic of Mpumalanga. The panoramic views over the Blyde River Canyon are breathtaking- the layered cliffs, deep valleys, and the iconic three mountain peaks shaped like traditional rondavel huts. The viewpoint is easy to access, with safe walkways and plenty of space to enjoy the scenery. It’s a fantastic spot for photos, and the natural beauty is even more impressive in person than in pictures. Peaceful, majestic, and uniquely South African—highly recommended!
Preshema S — Google review
The beautiful nature made up for the restaurant not having coffee or milkshakes but is still the best of the public siteseeing attractions in the area. Especially after the letdown of the facilities at the potholes.
Francois V — Google review
Great views. If you have time and are planning some days before your visit, you should book a canyon cruise as well. Would have been even greater sights
Christian E — Google review
The views are beautiful, more beautiful when the grass is green. Entry is now cashless. And there’s food stores that actually work now. The last time I was here there weren’t any stores and you could pay cash to enter.. they also have safety monitors to prevent people from endangering themselves.

Blyde River Canyon is a massive natural attraction known for its diverse wildlife and stunning views. It's situated perfectly for exploring the Panorama Route, offering various day trip options such as Classic Touring and Exceptional Touring in Hoedspruit. The canyon itself is an awe-inspiring sight, stretching 60 kilometers with towering cliffs up to 700 meters high. This green chasm houses a river winding through sub-tropical jungle teeming with wildlife and thrilling rapids.
honestly one of the highlights of our trip! The views are absolutely breathtaking, from the cliffs to the deep green river. Nature at its best. What made it even better was our tour guide hilarious and full of energy! He kept us laughing the whole way while still dropping some cool facts about the area.

My second favourite stop on the Panaroma Route. The views around the time of golden hour for sunset are very spectacular. So peaceful and only a 5 min walk from the carpark. Down in the valley below is a lake. Apparently the Australian version of 'Im a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here' is filmed in the canyon below. Keep a look out for birds.

This place is as everyone stated. I saved an image for my profile pic I enjoyed it that much. It's a colorful, picturesque landscape that is also quite peaceful and relaxing. Toured it twice from above and then the river cruise. I did miss God's window due to intense fog. Make sure you check the weather conditions. Highly recommended.

I'm still reeling from the breathtaking beauty of the Blyde River Canyon! As the last stop on my Panorama Route journey, it exceeded all expectations and left me speechless. The sheer scale and majesty of this natural wonder is awe-inspiring, with lush subtropical vegetation and towering cliffs that seem to stretch on forever. Standing at the edge, I felt tiny in comparison, and the panoramic views took my breath away. I feel incredibly lucky to have experienced its beauty
Zee J — Google review
For many South Africans, the Sabie area, God’s Window, and the Three Rondavels are familiar and well-loved destinations. However, for international visitors, I highly recommend making the Blyde River Canyon region a priority. The viewpoint overlooking the Three Rondavels is truly breathtaking and offers one of the most iconic landscapes in the country. The formation is named the “Three Rondavels” because the three rock structures resemble traditional African rondavel huts—rounded, hut-like shapes that look like three natural “houses” carved into the landscape. It is a unique and memorable sight, and an essential stop for anyone exploring South Africa. Make sure to include this remarkable area in your travel plans when visiting the country.

The 24 km pass features 62 bends and offers breathtaking views of rivers, mountains, and colorful rock faces. The drive includes a descent through the pass and J.G. Strijdom Tunnel, providing panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape.
Very scenic pass with some interesting history behind it and views of beautiful rock faces. The road is in good condition. There are curios for sale along the route. Please travel slowly and respectfully.

We have driven through Abel Erasmus Pass after leaving Greater Kruger National Park near Hoedspruit as part of our drive along the famous Panorama Route. From the north, the mountains are quite scenic, offering nice panoramic views and multi-colored rock face mountainsides, showing off their bright yellow, orange and other earth-tone shades on both sides of the Pass. We also enjoyed the nice sweeping river views as we approached and passed through the tunnel. There are a few nice viewpoints to stop and have a look at the sweeping river views on the north and south side of the pass. Further, there are plenty of places to stop along the famous Panorama Route which starts just south of the Abel Erasmus Pass, going south in the direction of Graskop. Note: Road conditions were the last time we made this drive, we didn't encounter many potholes. Overall, we like the Abel Erasmus Pass and enjoy driving this longer route towards Hoedspruit for our safaris in the Greater Kruger National Park. However, if visitors are only planning to visit the Panorama Route for a single day trip, this is slightly out of the way and might not be worth the extra driving.

I love this pass, really amazing moutain and vally view, but a lots of pothole, road was such a bad condition and rocks are falling down. It is not secure to pass, and you can not stop good view point, its very dangerous to stop. Thats why the pothos are not great. But worth to drive there, it is breathtaking scenery.
Masako S — Google review
Just one of the most spectacular drives that I have done on this planet. Unfortunately the road and roadside conditions are dire - with filth and garbage — but the sheer beauty is worth it anyway. Government in the area really need to get their acts together - as this pass can have significant tourist potential benefiting local traders with proper structures (instead of the current litter strewn ramshackle structures at viewing points).

Bourke's Luck Potholes

Mentioned on

Geologic Formations
Bourke's Luck Potholes is a renowned geological attraction shaped by water erosion over millions of years. The swirling eddies of the Treur and Blyde Rivers have gradually worn away the Black Reef quartzite, creating stunning waterfalls and potholes. Visitors can explore walkways and bridges to witness the breathtaking red, beige, and earthy-toned rock formations as well as observe the cascading waterfalls that plunge over 20 meters deep.
It is truly remarkable how nature's beauty can captivate us completely. The scenery presented is incredibly stunning and evokes a sense of awe. The captivating sights of cascading water and unique formations leave a lasting impression. The whole experience is simply breathtaking and wonderfully satisfying. Overall, this is a truly unforgettable spectacle.
Solandre S — Google review
Such an wonderful place full of nooks and crannies. It was very interesting to see all the different rock formations made by the water. I must say that I found the prices to be quite high but at the end of the day it was well worth the visit.
Lesley S — Google review
Its a lovely spot. My only concern is the people who ignore signs demarcation the safe areas. Price wise it was R75 a person . Well worth it .
Vishika S — Google review
Wow this place is beautifully peaceful, from rock formations, beautiful flowing water to waterfalls. Walking here feels like everything is going to be okay like all your worries/burdens are lifted off your shoulders...the environment is really therapeutic. I spent longer time here because i emmersed my feet in the pothole and forgot reality I zoned out because of how much comfort i felt...an amazing feeling...reasonable restrictions ❤️❤️

Highly recommended stop if you’re touring the Panorama Route. It pairs beautifully with other attractions like God’s Window or Three Rondavels. Just be sure to plan for the drive and enjoy the unique natural beauty when you arrive.

What a stunning place. Enjoyed the beautiful scenery and got some amazing images from this spot. There’s a lot of walking so make sure to take comfortable shoes for walking. Definitely worth it.
Itumeleng M — Google review
My favourite stop on the Panorama Route. The Bourke's Luck Potholes have been formed over thousands of years of water erosion. The paths are accessible until you reach the bridges section and then there are stairs. Really stunning views. Keep a look out for the stunning Double Collared Sunbirds sucking nectar in the carpark trees.

The experience is quite spectacular to see the water swirl and create the circles down below. They also have a special walk way for people in wheelchairs. NB: Just note if you want to use their toilets they charge you extra for toilet paper. Entrance R75 p.p if you are a South African citizen.

God's Window is a popular lookout point offering panoramic views of a forested valley, making it a paradise for photographers. Adventure seekers can indulge in activities like abseiling, river rafting, fly fishing, rock climbing, and bush walks. The area also boasts the third largest and greenest canyon in the world - Blyde River Canyon - along with other attractions like Three Rondavels and Barberton Makhonjwa Mountains.
Beautiful place! Highly recommend taking the stairs to the top if you can, but if you’re unable I promise the views from below are just as amazing. The key to come early (before rain clouds roll in) or immediately after the rain stops!

It was great. I don't post pictures or videos of the actual features so that others can go see it for themselves. You can see Mozambique from here and that's amazing. We went in July, and we could see as far as binoculars allowed. I've been here a couple of times and we couldn't see much. This period seems to be better. We enjoyed the walk up, the various available paths made it meditative and kept it fresh.
NOMHLE N — Google review
God’s Window is truly a beautiful spot, but unfortunately I visited on a foggy day and couldn’t see much of the view. Even so, the place itself is peaceful and the walkways are nice. I’d definitely recommend checking the weather before going, because on a clear day it must be absolutely breathtaking.
Vutlhari N — Google review
It was an absolutely amazing experience ❤️ worth the hike. The hike was not too long just steep but the views are incredible and so worth it. Reasonable entrance fees for S. African citizens not too sure about the entry for non-citizen visitors — beautiful experience nonetheless. There are stalls of beautiful handmade memorabilia also worth looking at and getting to keep as a reminder. The road leading to God's window also has amazing views of the valleys and mountains, would 10/10 recommend visiting it.
Buyile M — Google review
Mpumalanga has uncharted scenic views. A testimony of the diversity of South Africa’s nature. God’s Window & nearby views (e.g. Blyde River Canyon) are one of those unofficial wonders of the world. As regards God’s Window please don’t have unrealistic expectations of actual window from heaven, but be prepared for breathtaking views.
Bonginkosi Z — Google review
I'm still in awe of the breathtaking beauty of God's Window! The walk up to the window is an adventure in itself, requiring comfortable shoes and a bit of stamina, but trust me, it's worth every step. As you ascend, the scenery unfolds, and the anticipation builds, culminating in a jaw-dropping panoramic view that will leave you speechless. The majestic vistas stretching out before you are simply indescribable – a true marvel of nature. God's Window is a must-visit destination, and I'd recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable experience. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, bring your camera, and be prepared to have your breath taken away!
Zee J — Google review
Have you ever witnessed a truly remarkable experience? The vistas are exceptionally stunning. The trek to the location and onward to the Rain Forest is physically demanding. However, the experience is rewarding. The facilities are maintained to a high standard.

Berlin Falls, the highest waterfall in Mpumalanga, is a stunning natural wonder that forms part of the Blyde River Canyon. The falls cascade down an 80-meter sheer cliff, resembling a giant candle with water fanning out as it drops into a pool below. Named during the Gold Rush by European miners, these falls are declared a national monument and offer an unforgettable sight with their jade-colored waters set against red cliffs.
Beautiful spot! Can get crowded, so come early and be patient. Bring cash if you’d like to buy a souvenir from the vendors. But be wary of the bathrooms, especially if traveling alone… doors didn’t lock, and there were no toilet seats or soap.
Payal A — Google review
R20 entrance fee. Beautiful waterfall. Unfortunately the R20 entrance fee is not used for maintenance of the facility. Walk way down to the waterfall view point is over grown with weeds and some of the paving bricks are missing (be careful when walking there, especially older people) Facility buildings are in need of maintenance, repairs and paint.

It is beautiful to see. But prefer Lisbon falls. Entrance R25 p.p if you are a South African citizen.

Established in 1999, this sanctuary has expanded from five to twelve gentle giants, providing a safe haven for these incredible creatures. Visitors can engage in intimate interactions—feeding, watering, and even hugging these magnificent animals under the guidance of friendly trainers who share fascinating insights about their behavior and care.
All I can say is Wow. This was one of the most incredible experiences I have had. Being do close to these amazing animals and actually seeing them up close and personal. They are truly amazing. My wife and I had a great time and will never forget it. The staff are very welcoming and very informative giving a person a quick lesson about elephants. They are amazing would suggest people go and support thes two elephants that were rescued.

This was an amazing experience. We were with a group (about 20 people) and our party was of 6. We learned about the elephants and were able to feel and touch them and then take a walk with them. It was amazing. The guides were well informed and patient.

For those who want a close up and personal experience with these gentle giants, the Elephant Sanctuary is the place to be as they have interactions with elephants where you can feed them, give them water and even touch them or hug them for those of you who are adventurous. The trainers are very friendly and give very detailed and interesting information about the elephants. This is a once in a lifetime experience and the price isn't bad as well plus children are free under a certain age. I highly recommend this experience for everyone as well as foreigners in the area as you won't regret it.

Lisbon Falls is a breathtaking 308-ft. waterfall located near Graskop, South Africa. It is the highest waterfall in Mpumalanga, with water cascading over craggy canyon walls before plunging into the gorge below. Named by European miners during the gold rush era, it offers a viewing platform near the car park at the top and an adventurous hike to its base.

B....E....A.....UUUUtiful falls. Nice and adequate parking. Do visit this place if you're in Panorama Route. The only thing I don't understand is the ticket for it. Although it's not much but i don't think it's necessary. Per person, it's R25 for SA nationals and R50 for foreigners. A local mentioned it used to be free just a few years ago. Anyway, even with the small fee, one must go. There are some local handicrafts/ souvenirs at the parking area. The view point is nicley placed to have a full view of falls and the surroundings. The scenery around the falls make it even more beautiful.
Ammar M — Google review
😍Beautiful... However the view point is incorrectly positioned,it doesn't really show the waterfall fully and the space is very limited. They should extend it to parts they currently restricted access to because that's actually where the view point is clearer and breathtaking. A tour bus came and there wasn't enough space to fit everyone had to quickly leave to make room for incoming tourists which for me was unfair because I didn't pay to spend 2 seconds there, the view point really needs to be extended. The waterfalls are really beautiful ❤️
Patience S — Google review
There is no trail. You pay R25 per person to the water fall from the top of the hill. Should you choose to go beyond the fence and try the trail it is at your own risk.

Pinnacle Rock is a hidden gem in Mpumalanga! The short walk to the rock is easy and scenic, and the views are simply breathtaking. The 30-meter tall quartzite rock is a stunning sight, and the surrounding indigenous forest adds to the natural beauty. I was also impressed by the lovely waterfall nearby, which was a lovely bonus. The entrance fee is reasonable, and the facilities are clean and well-maintained.

There are way better stops at the panorama route. It’s a nice rock but that’s it. Only visit if you really want to see this rock with your own eyes. Better spend more time at Gods Window or drive to Lisbon Falls. (You’ll also not spend a lot of time at Lisbon Falls but it’s more spectacular than this rock)

A natural skyscraper,Sandton has nothing on this beautiful natural phenomenon. The view is breathtaking from every angle, and the serenity of the surrounding forest makes you feel completely at peace.Standing there, you can’t help but admire how effortlessly powerful and graceful nature can be. Mac Mac Falls is a stunning attraction in Mpumalanga, known for its twin waterfalls that drop 70 meters into a deep gorge. While swimming at the falls is not permitted due to safety reasons, downstream from Mac Mac Pools offers an ideal spot for picnicking and swimming.
Do not drive past and miss out. Lovely to see. You are not supposed to walk down to the bottom of the falls, bit if you are South African and friendly to the staff they will show you which no entry sign to walk part to get down there.

A local mentioned it used to be free just a few years ago. Anyway, even with the small fee, one must go. There are some local handicrafts/ souvenirs at the parking area. What I didn't like about this fall was how the view point is made. The fence bars are so high that they block/ hinder the view to this amazing fall. Thankfully i had a drone so i could bypass those bars but i think something like nearby falls (lisbon & berlin) could've been done which doesn't block your view.
Ammar M — Google review
There are several spots where you can sit and look at the waterfall. You just have to climb a few steps. If the first bench is taken, there's another one not far from there. The waterfall is stunning, especially against the backdrop of the side of the rocks. As it hit the bottom, it seemed to be smoking. Reminds me of the native beliefs around water. As usual, I don't post features because you must come see it for yourself. Again, a few ladies and gentlemen are selling things here. I think they could bring in some variety and target local tourists. Probably modernize what's for sale. The lady at security was friendly and efficient.

After many years, we were back at this once beautiful place. The beautiful pool is now separated by an ugly fence and swimming is forbidden. The entrance fee is a ridiculously high 50 ZAR per person, with the deception that the braai stands on the grounds can be used. We left straight away.

William M — Google review
Nice place, although the "falls"-area is blocked by a fence now. Just for visiting the falls, R150 entrance fee for internationals is actually overdone. Unless you want to walk for some time in the cold water, you will not spend much more time than 5 minutes there.
Marinus L — Google review
Very fun place. Seems a bit like a public swimming area. Some families with picknick things were there. As the pools are fairly spread its easy to find “your own little corner” very gorgeous place for a nice sunset swim.
Marion M — Google review
We often go hiking in this area and it's still a favourite for spectacular views and landscape. The infrastructure of the picnic area is not well maintained, although functional. The pools have been fenced off. The trail is overgrown and not easy to follow anymore; this could be due to the recent rains and perhaps it will be cleared as the season changes. It's best to have cash on hand to pay the small entrance fee.

What a wonderful place. The entrance fee is R20 per person and I think that it was well worth it. One of the most underrated places in Mpumalanga. Sabie Falls is a picturesque waterfall located near the small town of Sabie. The area also features other nearby attractions such as Bridal Veil Falls and Mac Mac Falls, making it a great stop for nature lovers. Visitors can enjoy an easy walk to the falls, with the option to climb rocks for a closer view. While some have expressed concerns about maintenance and entrance fees, many appreciate the beauty of the falls and surrounding Azalea garden.
A Hidden Gem in Mpumalanga I recently visited Sabie Falls, and it was love at first sight! The sound of the water cascading down the falls is mesmerizing, and the scenery is simply stunning. The entrance fee is incredibly affordable, at only R20, making it a great destination for anyone looking to experience nature's beauty without breaking the bank. The falls are nestled in a picturesque landscape, surrounded by lush forests and scenic views. It's a great spot for hiking, photography, or simply taking in the sights and sounds of nature. I highly recommend parking at the picnic spot and taking the scenic circular route, which is about 7 kilometers long. Overall, Sabie Falls is a must-visit destination in Mpumalanga. Its natural beauty, affordability, and accessibility make it a hidden gem that's waiting to be explored.

Was nice to see the falls, but in my opinion, it's not really worth it. There are soooo many holes to slip in and would not recommend bringing a kid. However, I would love to do the absailing that is offered at the falls.

This was a pretty view. the front desk gentleman was friendly and communicated well, however it’s a little rundown. Not the safest place for kiddos as there are steep drops that aren’t fenced off. The place could do with a little bit of tlc. But all in all it was very pretty.

There's a couple of waterfalls two witness at this location, main two rivers join to make one stream. The area has beautiful places for taking pictures and seeing marvels of nature. Entry fee per person are very small, about R15, for that you get a parking however there are no ablutions in the area. We had a really, really awesome time with Kestell. Super professional super safety concerned. We did three activities. Absaleing Geckoing Candle light caving All three were really fun and I recommend the caving, very cool.
Connor N — Google review
Great experience, had a wonderful time geckoing down the Sabie river for 3km. We did a cliff jump and a cool natural rapids slide at the end. 💰 Value for money We wore wetsuits so we didn't feel the full brunt of the rocks and river shoes, which I would also highly recommend doing.🌝 If you wear glasses, don't take them- you'll lose them if not on the first rapid then definitely the second. If you can wear contacts ( just close your eyes in the water) it's important to see the rocks ahead.👀 Kestell is such a lovely, down-to-earth guy, we felt safe the entire time and are now wanting to do do the caving with him.🙈
Gabriella L — Google review
We had really great time. The fall are breathtaking and the trail is a “must do” if you visit Sabie.

Did Forest cruise with Kestell today. Great fun, highly recommended. Get in Kestell ‘s bakkie, he drives you up to the secret waterfall. It’s a beautiful spot, amazing waterfall, great for swimming and bum sliding. Kestell’s is a super nice guy as is Barbara his amazing sidekick in the office. Thanks for a lovely morning of fun.

Bridal Veil Falls

Nature & Parks
Bridal Veil Falls, standing at an elegant 70 meters, is a stunning natural wonder that captivates visitors with its delicate beauty. The waterfall's cascading waters resemble a bride’s veil, creating a picturesque scene that enchants all who visit. Located just 6 kilometers from Sabie town, the journey to reach this gem involves a short yet scenic walk from the car park, where breathtaking views of lush greenery and towering cliffs await you.
Wow what can I say, it not the biggest but certainly one of the most beautiful falls, staff are very friendly and we entered without any fuss, it was a small hike to the falls but well worth it, the road towards the falls isn't great so take your time you will be dodging potholes, and from there you will go on a dirt road but the experience is well worth it

This is absolutely beautiful !!! A must go !!! We drove all the way from Gauteng (323km with our motorcycle 🏍️💨 just to see this and it was worth every mile !! It's absolutely beautiful, breathe taking and also looks like something out of a fairytale, when walking you see and feel nature the atmosphere, the hike is awesome and kids and adults that are adventurous can enjoy it. It's a full experience, there are hidden waterfalls aswell, as there are like little paths you can go down, we found hidden waterfalls 😉 and have the most beautiful photos, aswell as the big waterfall were you can actually go close to and isn't fenced off !! I recommend this place over any other waterfall in Sabie by far ( have a look on my other reviews) Love love love and a must !!!
Shania S — Google review
Beautiful nature soeaks for itself, 15minute hike, also beautiful in itself, needed slight maintenance from overgrowth. Fees were payable, ablutions were is good shape. Road to location was shockingly bad!!!
Laurence M — Google review
The entrance fee is R20... it's quite an uphill walk if you are a bit unfit and the path is very slippery at times. Wear comfortable non- slip shoes for this walk. I wore sneakers, and I still slipped and fell on the way down the path. Awesome views on the drive up to the entrance of the falls. This was a gravel road, but way better than most of the tar roads in the area
Aluwieya H — Google review
The breathtaking waterfall, nestled amidst lush greenery and towering cliffs, made the journey more than worthwhile. The surrounding nature added to the charm, making it a perfect spot for nature enthusiasts and photography lovers alike. The short hike to reach the falls was enjoyable and well-marked. However, despite the wonders that awaited us at Bridal Veil Falls, there was one downside that cannot be overlooked - the condition of the road leading to the site. The journey to reach this natural gem was marred by a bumpy and poorly maintained road, which added some discomfort to the trip. Overall it was still a lovely experience.
Yusuf P — Google review
A really beautiful Falls where you can get up close with the fresh spring water. If you carrying a camera I would advise you carry a protective casing to protect your gear. The hike to the Falls is some good cardio too.
DRUNAK — Google review
A short steep walk, but absolutely worth it. The waterfall hasn't seen much rain to form the "veil" yet, but it is still luscious and green and definitely a highlight on the Panorama Route. Entrance is @R15 per adult and they have card facilities. There are bathrooms on site that are in fair condition. Please keep in mind that the gravel road and potholes that lead to the site can be bad.
Wena C — Google review
Areas in the Lowveld received significant amounts of rain during the month of February. The persistent rain has been unprecedented and thus we had to go and see our favourite Sabie waterfall. A trip to the Bridal Veil is never in vain, but oh goodness! this was incredible! In 20 years I've never seen it in this splendor. Be sure to take an umbrella or rain coat, the misty spray is an unavoidable delight. It's regrettable that the road towards the entrance is in such poor condition, but if you take it slow it should be okay. Oh what fun to feel so alive in nature!

Lone Creek Falls, located just a short drive from Sabie, is a stunning 70-meter waterfall surrounded by indigenous forest. It offers easy pedestrian access and nearby parking. Visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of the falls along with amenities such as picnic facilities, a sandy beach, and a swimming pool. The site has been designated as a national monument due to its picturesque aesthetics and the surrounding indigenous vegetation in the kloof below the waterfall.
This is by far one of my favorite waterfalls in the area for the simple fact that you are so close to it. The spray from the impact is so refreshing as it hits your face and it is so relaxing to just stand there and breathe it in. The waterfall is just a short walk away from the car park and offeres a circular walk to the falls, through some trees and back. There is also a photo opportunity that is quite nice but it can get crowded and it always muddy due to the water. There is the option of a picnic onto of the falls but I never did that personally, so I can't accurately say how it is. I recommend going here with younger children too.
Jayden B — Google review
The waterfall is absolutely beautiful, but the road to get there, not so much. We nearly turned back but a car coming from the falls stopped and told us it's worth it. Well, my car survived and it was worth it. The falls are stunning. There are ablutions and a picnic area. Make sure you wear appropriate shoes as it's quite slippery. R50 entrance - card machine.
Amy H — Google review
Went with my husband to see the water fall, We were first at Bridal Vail waterfall and the experience there was much better than lone creek, you walk and it's trees and boom you see the water fall and it's fenced off (unlike bridal Vail waterfall) and then you walk over a bridge and that's it . Nothing interesting or like the same as bridal Vail waterfall where you actually feel nature, have quite a hike and also see flowers, plants, hidden water falls were you can go and even the big watefall you can actually get a rock stand at the back of it feel everything and also we spend a lot more time there than here at lone creek. If we were at lone creek 15min in and out it's alot. We spend 4 hours at Bridal Vail waterfall and it was amazing, beautiful, an experience!! And so special, Would recommend lone creek falls for people who want to walk on concrete with their white Nike's and just have a look at a fenced waterfall to say " they were near the waterfall in Sabie" NOT FOR ADVENTUROUS PEOPLE, DOWN TO EARTH and people who actually want to experience the full course of nature and how beautiful it actually is. GO TO BRIDAL VAIL FALLS !!! I have a review on bridal Vail falls, go have a look at that photos and how beautiful it is people and how it actually looks like a fairytale.

I went there less than a week ago the price has changed to R50pp and it was beautiful with nice photography spots. The only problem l had was the road going there..

Lone creek Falls have forever been a part of my Sabie experience and will continue going forward, Its great to see the are being looked after, managed and cleaned. the additional facilities to braai and have a picnic, but should be managed accordingly as you are in nature and theres no need for cars to be blearing music that you can hear over the waterfall at the waterfall which was slighly dissapointing considering its quite a pricey entry fee to visit the waterfall at R75 per person as a south african resident which the gate keeper wouldnt take no for an answer as the published Prices are R36 at the more expensive end and he stated out ID and or Drivers license was not valid to get the SADC rates
Ruan B — Google review
Mpumalanga does it again with the falls. My only complaint is they have built barricades to restrict people from getting into the water but guys, these places are so gorgeous. Amazing thing about this falls is there is a walk towards the waterfall. The walk is sweet as the vegetation is pretty and soothing. The cherry on the top is the anticipation of the waterfall as it gets louder as u reach closer. Getting there is great, leaving is a problem coz u just won't want to leave. So soothing and amazing. God's creation is just so unchallenged.
Shaqueal “ — Google review
Very short Trail, waterfall not very specatular. Better to see other watefalls.
Maria O — Google review
Drive into and out of the falls was very bumpy and LOTS of pot holes. R36 entrance fee is reasonable, kids under 6 are free. Falls are beautiful and scenery well kept. Fencing to keep the crowds out of nature and safe from drowning. With the falls being less than 100m from the parking, very easy to visit.

Horseshoe Falls, aptly named for its horseshoe shape, is located along the old Lydenburg tar road. After a 6.8 km drive and a left turn onto a gravel road for 3.6 km, visitors can access the falls for a nominal fee at the entrance gate. The waterfall creates an almost perfect horseshoe as it cascades down the mountainside, offering a stunning view easily accessible through a campsite.
An absolute MUST SEE! R15 p/p. Road is full of potholes and in terrible condition, but SO worth it! Beautiful walk through a green forest to the waterfall. Can swim here as well so bring a towel!

Riaan S — Google review
You have a beautiful hike through a forest for about 200meters until you get to the beautiful sighting of the falls. This is on private land and the entrance is R20 per person.
Stephan G — Google review
Beautiful place to visit but I don't think it is worth it unless you visit all 3 waterfalls on that road. The road is shocking so many potholes. The parking fee is R10 - R20 and each waterfall as well and don't leave valuables inside. The is a place next door called trout and about where you can do fly fishing for trout
Curteis R — Google review
The falls are breath taking. The journey to get there is horrendous! Potholes galore, long remote driving, dirt roads... followed by a long hike into the forest. If you aren't into creepy crawlies, don't do this! Security is an issue. No guided hikes, you are on your own.
Laura-lee H — Google review
Are the roads good? No Is the walk to the falls well kept? No Is it worth it? Yes Horseshoe is beautiful, with pools to explore and very tidy facilities where you can buy drinks and ice cream. There are also triangular chalets that can be rented, however, the road leading to horseshoe falls is so ridden with potholes, you'll probably not want to drive anywhere unless absolutely necessary.
Maryké S — Google review
Absolutely beautiful, this waterfall has been kept in its natural state without any rails or man made structures. There is a beautiful forest trail to the waterfall and some natural pools to swim in along the way.

This exhilarating adventure provides an unforgettable and exciting experience, perfect for adding excitement to your trip. Don't miss out on this gem which has received top ratings and costs R300.
This was a once in a lifetime experience. A bit too fast for the older people, but Ja that was really good. The staff are very helpful and professional.

The toboggan ride offers a fun and thrilling experience for anyone who loves a little speed. The way down the track feels like you are flying, even though you are in control. The ride up the hill offers some spectacular views of the scenery around the tracks. The sounds of the wind and the sliding are a core memory. It is always a good time to go tobogganing.

1.7 km of pure adrenaline! 🌄🎢 What an unforgettable experience—this ride takes you soaring through the valley, twisting and turning with breathtaking views all around. It’s thrilling, scenic, and just plain amazing. Every second is packed with excitement and awe. If you’re craving adventure, this is it!
Le-Ann P — Google review
Exactly what you expect. A thrilling ride that is long enough to get the heart racing but short enough to want more. What is impressive is that the brake is on by default and the driver needs to push the lever forward to disengage. If you get scared or panic and let go of the lever it will brake by itself. Awsome ride

Wow, an amazing experience. We did it on a Monday and had no waiting time. A bakkie takes you to the start. If u are in the area, its something u should do. The toboggan was just a thrill. I just wont recommend children under 10 years to do it as it can be quite fast

Amazing experience! I went here with a large group of Americans through EF tours and it was so fun! The ride was nerve-wracking but all in all very safe. I don't usually enjoy fast rides, but I still had fun!
Thepowerbats — Google review
What a lovely experience and breathtaking venue this is. A hidden gem. A bit expensive for a family of 5, so not sure we'd do it again but it's one to remember. We were greeted by friendly staff who got us up to our toboggans in no time. The rides are dangerous without helmets, but we did it once and the kids and adults had the most thrilling rides with the most breathtaking views. We thoroughly enjoyed this outing and the children will forever remember their tobogganing experience. We recommended it to friends and family who live in SA, but it's a bit too expensive for most living there. Would be nice to visit again. Kids said best ride ever!

Long Tom Pass is a legendary mountain pass that offers a picturesque drive with stunning lookout points and views of mountains and lush valleys. Despite some issues like littering and inconsiderate drivers at viewpoints, the pass provides awe-inspiringly beautiful sights and a fun drive on good road surfaces. It's definitely worth the time for anyone in the area, offering beautiful scenery, peaceful surroundings, and fantastic views along the way.
Last time the Long-Tom cannon was used was here at the battle of the longtom pass during the Anglo-Boer war. Beautiful winding road takes you past this bit of history and you can see why it would have been strategically important to hold this high ground. To be able to fire canons deep into the valley would have given anyone controlling the pass a definative advantage. Worth a visit and woth a picture, for free.

The charming town of Lydenburg houses the notable Lydenburg Museum, offering captivating glimpses into the local Pedi culture. Visitors can explore the museum's collection of remarkable Iron Age Lydenburg Heads, a series of clay masks unearthed in 1957. The museum is conveniently located at Mashishing, reachable via South Africa's towering Long Tom Pass.
Tranquil museum illustrating the history of South Africa and Lydenburg, very interesting and recommended. Old artefacts that emanate from the wars that took place on South African soil are well kept and preserved. In fact the entire museum is clean, tidy and maintained. Staff are friendly as well. There is also a nature reserve in which there is an MTB trail for only R35, very reasonable but I myself am yet to try it.
Rajesh G — Google review
The museum itself is a museum piece. It's how museums were, before we knew how to actually tell stories. Horribly dark, (both content and lighting), no flow, jumbled, storyboards that elide the harsh truth. Needs a complete re-vamp. Worth visiting but look at it sideways , and read between the lines.
Michael J — Google review
You can learn quite a number of things here. Worth a visit. There are also some hiking routes inside the reserve even though they can be confusing because they are not marked.
Tlatjo M — Google review
We appreciated finding the museum. A good standard of presentation and something for everyone, young and old
Tony W — Google review
Very interesting museum with lots of information about Lydenburg and the vicinity. Photos and relics on display spanning many decades of the indigenous people as well as the Voortrekkers and from the Boer wars to name but a few. Very quiet. Hardly visited by anyone anymore. Buildings and surround needs maintenance. Some of the artifacts left in the open and exposed are almost totally beyond repair. A shame to let history be lost in such a way
Hester — Google review
We have popped into the museum while en route to KNP - the museum itself is really nice - and free - but it clearly hasn't been renovated since 80's (or 90's) and might be found boring by some. Apart from that - everything is presented clearly, kept in order and there are a lot of curious artefacts in there, like carvings from the Boer prisoners-of-war camps or pieces from Lyndenburg history. Also you can visit the reserve just going further through the gates - we didn't do that due to the lack of time, and regret this a bit.
Nelly B — Google review
We were really surprised at the informative and professional exhibits inside the museum on the history and culture of the region. Also the free pamphlets and maps of the surrounds were appreciated. Entrance is also free! Outside exhibits are rather "random" and "unusual". It would be lovely if picnic places are erected in the large outdoor area.

Nestled in the heart of Mpumalanga, the Sudwala Caves stand as a testament to nature's artistry and history. Renowned as one of the oldest cave systems globally, these fascinating caverns invite visitors on an unforgettable journey through time. With their origins dating back approximately 240 million years, they are carved into ancient Precambrian dolomite rock.
This is a list of experiences to be cherished. The access road was in excellent condition. The restaurant offered great value, and the food and staff were truly exceptional. The caves were a magnificent sight, and our tour guide demonstrated expertise and genuine enthusiasm. We also enjoyed the zip lines, which were an unforgettable experience. Once again, the staff were outstanding, and the zip-lining provided breathtaking views.

Very worth the trip! The cave tour was very interesting and our guide was great. It lasted about 45 minutes. We also did the zip lining which was awesome! The staff were professional, friendly and fun. The facilities were very well kept. For these reasons we found the price of admission very reasonable. I would recommend visiting!

Great activity to do with the family. Very friendly to all ages with an exception to walking through a small passage (difficult for the elderly as you need to crouch). Decently priced and Shadrack was an amazing tour guide. More than welcome to take pics and spend time in the caves even when the guide is done. Awesome gift shop, has zip lining and a beautiful crystal tour that's approx 5hrs long but definitely worth it.

This was a great shared experience with our kids. Our guide, John, was an absolute star, answering any questions the young ones had, adding quirky comments with a clear passion for the tourism industry and his internship! Bonus points for also being a tour photographer :D They have tours every 15 - 20 minutes, so the wait is not long at all.
Nedine F — Google review
The experiance was amazing we paid R140 per person and our tour guide John was fantastic we learned alot about the cave men and also about how the caves developed its really a must to see great south african history
Angeliqe K — Google review
A beautiful spot in South Africa to visit. The cave is interesting, stalactites, stalagmite’s, fossils, high ceilings and deep - 600m. You can go deeper to the crystal chamber to experience the crystal cave which is a 6km round trip by booking in advance. Our guide was entertaining and informative, jokes were a bit cheesy, suited rather to school groups.
