Went for breakfast run its a great place really enjoyed the Museum ! There are a lot to see en a lot to take in Great experience, breakfast was oky would recommend going back and see the rest can't see all of it in one day so many different types of motorcycle's ! It was a great experience t see all the old bikes and to read about all the old stuff and what happened thoroughly enjoyed it!!!

Absolutely fabulous every time.You meet people you have forgotten about and meet new friends. The Bikes are a must - relive the past and all the drama. And then you cant find a better place to have a Bikers Breakfast in good company.

A great hiking/biking trail with some of the best views. It is a well maintained nature reserve that offers unforgettable memories. The trails are properly marked and the place is very clean. They open very early, weekday visiting hours are 7:00 to 16:00 and 18:00 on weekends. 3 trails 1. Bokmakierie trail which has 3 options 10km and 11,5km & 2. Cheater trail, which is 4,5km 3. 17km

Big skies, long loops, and the feeling you’ve actually left the city. We did one of the shorter circular hikes and still got broad grassland views, antelope sightings, and that quiet you only get when the road noise drops away. Trails are well marked and the gradients are honest but manageable. Take plenty of water, a hat, and decent shoes—there’s limited shade on the ridges. Facilities at the gates are basic but fine. If you like the idea of a “proper” hike without a long drive, this is an easy yes.

Provincial government is not fulfilling their mandate: - Day trails are badly eroded. - Overnight trails are closed. - Eland overnight hut fire damaged. - Holhoek picnic site is closed. - Ouhout Group Camp is closed. - Tourist Route road tar is not maintained, roadside grass not cut creating dangerous bends especially for cyclists. - Paved paths are overgrown and not maintained. - Water feature not working. - Medicinal garden overgrown, signage missing. - Educational dioramas in main building closed and damaged by water leaks. - fence in terrible condition, game regularly gets out and causes accidents. - Western gate burnt down (were firebreaks in place?) - Protea Hotel and pool closed. - Kareekloof resort and pools closed. - firebreaks never completed on time resulting in unplanned fires. NEVERTHELESS the scenery is still magnificent and there are still some animals to be seen. Renovation of Kiepersol Chalets and toilets in parking area said to be almost complete.

We enjoyed a 11.5km hike which took us 3:30mins. The reserve opens a 7am with a Card only system.No cash is accepted. The pathways are marked out but they can cut some of the bush , although there is alot of clear views. We didnt see any animals along the path but did see some animal dung. The toilets were clean and the place is well kept. The museum is a nice walk for those who want to reminisce.

Enjoyed the 10,8km hike. Nature at its best , quite a moderate hike with challenging elevations. Stuff so friendly and give best advices. Only did the hike and could not explore other things in the nature reserve.

It was a beautiful weekend. Went on a 10km hike with my friends. The trail? doable but the steepness? One really needs good hiking shoes, a walking stick, a hat, enough water & sunscreen. 100% enjoyed it.

Didnt go inside the museum. But the information outside is wow. Loved how everything there has a meaning. The trees, the walls, the line, the stones, the water, the paving etc. True artwork. There is this guy who looks like he is not a tour guide but the information he has is too much. He knows everything by head. Wish i could remember his name to recommend him

I have nothing bad to say about this site, it was amazing and all so though out and sentimental. We had a guide who described exactly why each little things happened and there was so much thought into the actual museum itself, definitely should visit!

Heavy stuff, but a good addition to your historic experience if you are visiting the Mandela house, which is very close by. Also, a lot of the markets sit right outside of the memorial and give you a chance to experience a lot of the culture in a walkable safe area.

The museum does an incredible job of telling the story of Hector's life and the significance of the 1976 student uprising. The exhibits are well-curated, and the staff are knowledgeable and passionate. A must-visit for anyone interested in South African history and the struggle for freedom. Highly recommended!

We had our Tour Guide Mr Thwala who made our trip so much educational and easy to understand

I came here early Saturday morning. Before the heap of tourist buses arrives. The museum is really good 👍 I spend almost an hour just taking it all in my own time. You can have a guided tour if you want. I didn't feel the need. It's such a huge historical monument. It's also a very planned layout. If you're a wheelchair user, you'll will not have a problem visiting here. It's incredibly accessible with ramps. Also It's walking distance from the Nelson Mandela house, too. People outside are very friendly and I meet Hectors sister Antoinette!! She does guided tours.

This part of Soweto is a must visit. The significance of this piece of history to South Africa can not be underestimated. We were lucky enough to be visiting at the time Hector's sister, represented as the girl in that famous photo behind her. Hector's death was the catalyst for change that took another 30 years, sadly.

Spent over 2 hours stuck in traffic trying to get into the Chiefs vs Sundowns match, very poor planning from those involved. Be prepared to be stuck for another 2 hours after the match. Luckily I left before extra time and was the 3rd row of parking on the road so made it out before the stand still traffic started.

The biggest stadium in Africa! Yup it’s huge! Went here for the Travis Scott concert. Everything is actually very well organised in terms of management, security and seating. For the music concert, there was an abundance of food stalls available. This entire opinion is based off my personal experience at massive music concert with over 70k fans but it was very well organised. Parking however can be a nightmare and it can take a very long time to enter/exit the designated parking areas. I wish the stadiums roof had the ability to close because if it rains you are going to get soaked. Overall, it’s a fantastic and massive stadium that is known for hosting iconic sporting and music events. I’m happy I finally got to see it in person.

We arrived early and just stood for a minute taking in the calabash glow—it's one of those places that feels big even before you find your seats. Once the stands started filling, the energy rolled in waves: drums, vuvuzelas, people in colours, and that buzz that makes you grin before kickoff. We kept pointing out little details—the roof line, the patterns on the bowl—and then the teams came out and the noise lifted. Inside, everything felt smooth: easy to find our block, friendly staff, decent food queues. We spent halftime just watching the stadium breathe, crowd chants echoing, lights washing the pitch, kids dancing in the aisles. Walking out after the final whistle, voices were hoarse and everyone was smiling. Big, loud, and surprisingly warm—one of those nights that sticks.

What a great experience, and a sobering one too. We moved through the galleries slowly, reading, listening, and letting the story build room by room. The way the exhibits are laid out—photos, film, letters, everyday objects—makes it feel personal and real rather than distant history. We barely spoke for long stretches; it’s one of those places that asks you to pay attention and you do. Outside and in the open spaces we took a few breaths, looked back at the steel and concrete lines of the building, and felt the weight of it all in a good way—honest, necessary, human. We left quiet and thoughtful, grateful we’d made the time. It’s not a quick stop, but it’s the one we’ll remember.

I visited the Apartheid Museum during my short stay in Johannesburg. The museum was interesting, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. There weren’t as many historical artifacts or organized exhibits as I had hoped. Still, I’m glad I had the chance to visit and learn more about South Africa’s history. The entrance fee was 170 South African rand as of October 18, 2025.

The sequence in the museum is well organized. However it provides very graphic demonstrations of historical events. One needs to be prepared for some of the scenes. The history of Apartheid is gut renching. Man's inhumanity to man. Nelson Mandela was a remarkable human being. It's sad that his legacy of liberty and equality and dignity for all 😢 was not sustained to present day.

Absolutely worth a visit. Very well done. Stop to read and learn. I also watched all videos along the route. Ended up spending 4 hours in the museum. Excellent work by the organisers.

Amazing place to visit with so much history about Apartheid, segregation & Nelson Mandella. I think if you wanted to read every storyboard, watch every video ^ look at every photo & article you would need a day. Sadly we only had 90mins available. Large museum, with lots of parking, a cafe & museum. Hard to understand how it was allowed to happen & continue to happen for so long. I was unaware so many people died during the struggles.

Gold reef city theme park is a great outing for kids and adults alike. Tickets are only available online and you have to arrive at the park and stand in a queue to collect the wrist bands for the day. (NOTE: Security does ask that only 1 person from a group stand in the queue, so please make sure that the kiddies are close by or are with a responsible adult). Depending on how busy it is, this can be a bit of a pain. So you can walk in and out of the park all day. There are maps scattered throughout the park and it is relatively easy to find your way around. Wear good walking shoes. Everything is well spaced out. The park caters for a little kiddies as well as the older kids. There are lots of fast paced rides to cater for everyone's type of adrenaline addiction. From aerial rollercoasters to dropping water rides. There is something for everyone. Queues for popular attractions like the Storm Chaser or Anaconda can be very long due to its popularity. There are no food or drinks allowed to be brought in. Remember the bag checks at the entrance. Everything has to be purchased on the premise at an egregiously inflated price. The price of a coke varies from shop to shop. There are various restaurants on site allowing a wide selection of food. Restaurants do get very full around lunch time and finding a place with a short queue or an open table can be a arduous task. Overall it is fun day out for familys and groups of friends. The park does close at 5 and the vehicle exit queues will take a while to clear. Rather take your time in the park to chill or walk around having ice cream.😜

I wholeheartedly recommend this park for families and couples alike. There’s a dedicated kids’ zone plus proper thrill rides for adrenaline lovers. It also doubles as a great event venue with handsome function rooms, so it works for both a fun day out and special occasions.

Let your inner child have some fun 🤩 GRC is still one of the most magical places in Gauteng! Be sure to do the Mine tour as it really is a trip down Johannesburg’s history. The park is always busy, so make sure that you arrive early. Well done GRC! Queue jumping is not allowed and severely dealt with - Offenders are be escorted out of the park with no refund. We made use of their group booking and received our tickets at R200 a ticket. Tip: The park’s restaurants and fast food stops are hectic busy. But the Wimpy just inside the main train station has been fast and friendly with their service, every time I visited.

My family and I recently spent a fantastic day at Gold Reef City Theme Park, and it was an absolute blast. The park, with its charming gold rush era theme, offers a perfect blend of excitement and entertainment for all ages. We went looking for some fun and thrills, and the park certainly delivered. We started our day with some of the more exhilarating rides. The Runaway Train provided a great start, offering a classic roller coaster experience with plenty of twists and turns. The Storm Chaser was a highlight, with its fast-spinning motion and height providing a real adrenaline rush. We also loved the Wave Swing, which was a more gentle but equally fun experience, and the Tornado, which spun us into a whirlwind of excitement. The Anaconda, in particular, was an unforgettable experience with its high-speed twists and inversions—a definite must-ride for anyone seeking a true thrill. One of the most memorable parts of the day was my son's experience in the Virtual Reality Zone. The immersive VR games transported him to incredible new worlds, and he had a fantastic time. It was a unique and modern touch that added to the park's diverse offerings. Overall, it was a truly fun-filled experience that created some wonderful family memories. The park was clean, well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was the perfect day to enjoy some rides, laughter, and quality time together. We had so much fun on the rides we chose, and we're already looking forward to our next visit. We'll definitely be braving the scarier, more intense rides next time to see what else Gold Reef City has to offer!

Such an amazing place to be, with all interesting things to do. Loved the go carts experience while my daughter loved all the rides, arcades and the food. There's so much for everyone.

What an experience haven't been at Carnival City in a several years. My kids practically begged me to take them so i did. There's signs up of don't smoke cannabis in public its a criminal offense but thats ironic as the staff of the place is smoking there and stinking out the place. Not recommended stay away

Went there on a date and I must recommend this place for first time dates or taking kids out for activities. Games where amazing, exceptional services from the restaurants and beautiful venue to just take nice long walks to chats with someone.

I recently visited Springs Mall and had a great experience. The mall is conveniently located, just off the N17, making it easy to get to. There are plenty of stores to shop at, and I found some great deals. The food court options were delicious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The mall is clean and well-maintained, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Springs Mall to anyone looking for a convenient and enjoyable shopping experience. 👍

I’ve visited this mall a few times, and unfortunately my experiences have not been positive. The security guards are often rude and many do not wear name tags, which makes it difficult to address issues properly. On top of that, I’ve noticed poor customer service in several of the shops. I hope management can look into this, as it affects the overall shopping experience.

Big and well kept mall. I was looking for baby stuff. Found them at toys r us, baby city and game. I've also done my wheel aligned at a affordable negotiable price at Tiger wheels. I'm enjoying shopping at this mall. Plenty of parking space and there's taxis just outside the mall.

Springs mall is the best place for me,,,, to go for shopping and I always get what I want,,,, and the restaurant are always on point today I ate at Pedro's springs mall it's always the best place to enjoy food with family or friends,,,, everything is reachable no stampede it's a cool place when ever you go for shopping

Such a great place to visit for doing shopping, it has various benefits and offers if you are interested doing shopping, gym, car wash, car repair services, banking, fast food, etc.

Been there a few times outside of peak hours and the last time I went there on a Friday around lunch time - chaotically busy. Getting out and back onto the main road was a complete mess. Only 1 way out which was excessively congested. The Mugg and Bean there sold me a muffin that was not fresh and had almost no nuts or dates. The directional signage is poor, spent a lot of time looking for a specific store only to find its closed for an entire hour, after calling their nr as operational hrs nowhere on shopfront.

This has to be one of the best national parks in Gauteng. It's very scenic and has a diverse array of flowers and indigenous trees and shrubs. Awesome place for walks and picnics with friends and family. I was fortunate to visit during the Rose Fest concert and I loved the atmosphere here. Will be visiting again soon :)

Great place to visit to escape from the hustle and busy lifestyle in joburg. People enjoyed themselves; having picnics on the grass areas. Waterfall was breathtaking. We had cheesecake and coffee at the restaurant. I would recommend this place without any reservation.

We followed the paths through the lawns and aloes and then the waterfall just appeared, clean white water dropping into the gorge with that steady, soothing roar. We found a patch of shade, kicked off our shoes, and let the afternoon drift. Every few minutes someone would point out something small: sunbirds in the flowers, dragonflies over the stream, a glimpse of the Verreaux’s eagles circling the cliff. It’s an easy place to slow down. Short trails for a leg-stretch, benches where you actually want to sit, and space for kids to run without feeling crowded. We shared a simple picnic, took a few photos by the falls, and left feeling like we’d been out of the city for hours—calmer, lighter, and already planning the next visit.

Went hiking at Walter Sisulu with my friends and it was amazing! The trail was fun, the views were beautiful, and the whole place felt so peaceful. Definitely a great spot to unwind and enjoy nature!

Lovely place to visit. Although one must take away your own litter as there no bins, sadly there are always people who leave litter behind. There were one or two places amongst the plants that had papers lying there and it hadn’t been removed. Restaurant was okay, our meal wasn’t bad but nothing much to rave about. What an absolutely splendid natural park—a must-visit for nature lovers. Artworks throughout the well-maintained landscape highligh the loving energy of this place, with a majestic waterfall. The grounds are very well maintained and exceptionally beautiful, clean.

A shopping mall very close to O.R. Tambo International Airport. Very useful especially if you’re in transit and want to quickly shop some items whilst staying in the vicinity of the airport and avoid missing your next flight. It is a safe and secure space for shopping and has many options available. Just don’t get carried away and go out of budget by overspending due to many affordable items at the mall.

A gem of a mall. Highly recommend it since the renos, it is spectacular.

Easily accessible, secure parking and a great variety of shops, restaurants, fast food outlets and other services. It is conveniently situated close to the N12, OR Tambo International Airport and therefore a suitable place for myself for meetings with business partners, friends and potential clients. Been using the East Rand Mall for more years than I can remember for shopping and for a central meeting place and never experienced anything to my dislike or anything unpleasant or out of order.

The place is properly clean organised clean toilets a wide range of variety shops you can do all your shopping at one stop from grocery to furniture to clothing to restaurants to banks and cinemas....... It's very safe and neat...... Always enjoying my shopping at East Rand Mall

Yoh this place has gone so downhill… I was there a few weeks ago and the whole place’s power was off (It was not load-shedding or anything in the area) and the power would randomly come back every 5 mins for 10 secs before going off again, because of this no store/restaurant could trade so it was just a complete waste. Will rather go to Eastgate mall.

Sterkfontein Caves is a fascinating experience for almost all ages. There’s quite a bit of walking and stairs, but it’s absolutely worth it — the caves are rich in history and very interesting to explore. The guided tour lasts about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, and the guides are excellent: knowledgeable, professional, and with just the right touch of humour to keep everyone engaged. The premises are well organised, with plenty of parking and a strong focus on safety. There’s also a small shop for coffee, tea, and snacks, as well as a museum to explore before or after your tour. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance, but it’s best to book online in advance, especially over weekends when slots fill quickly. Group sizes are limited, which makes for a more personal and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended for a family outing or anyone interested in South Africa’s incredible natural and archaeological heritage.

I visited the caves today with my Grade 5 robotics group as part of a research project and WOW, we were blown away. The staff and management were fantastic and so accommodating, they went above and beyond to make our experience super special and memorable. I would like to thank Job, Boiki, Thobeka and Andrew for this amazing experience. If I could give you 100 stars I would! Proudly South African! P.S. the tour and facilities are of the highest quality!

A very cool experience walking into the depths of an ancient cave and old limestone mine, with the expertise of a guide. Be mindful there are stretches with uneven grounds and crawl spaces. I really enjoyed the visit with an underground lake, grottos, and bits of nature and history in the Cradle of Humankind.

Tour was a blast. There should be better information regarding cave tour as we had elderly people in the group. Some battled during exit of cave. Be prepared to squat, bend, drag on your bottom, don't go with your party suit as not going to be same color when you're done. Hard hats was a blessing. Also should you be an asthma patient please carry your inhaler. Air and steep inclines are what you look forward to. All in all, great experience.

Amazing tour and experience. Gift was an amazing tour guide with a lot of knowledge and information. Definitely recommend this to anyone l who likes to do unique experiences but bare in mind it would be a 5 in activity rating as there are a lot of stairs and small spaces but definitely going to book the extended tour

Very educational. Requires a bit of crouching and squatting, even a short bear crawl for me during a segment of the tour.. but doable if you have some level of basic fitness. if you are not mobile or flexible dont do it.

The University of Witwatersrand, a Top University in SA, took over the management of this important world heritage site. Since then the displays have improved a lot but still have errors and mistakes (eg. black algae for cyanobacteria, which are prokaryotes and thus not algae, and are blue - green, "cyan" and not black!). Our guide through the cave had no clue what he was talking about, gave hardly any information. No word about the rocks themselves, their age or their important role in Earth history! There are many geological features in and outside the cave that laymen can see and understand easily but he did not point out any of them. When I tried to teach him, he was not interested. A typical behaviour of poorly educated local guides in South Africa. We saw a small rinkhals cobra (scientific name: Hemachatus haemachatus) at the exit of the cave, he insisted on it to be a pofadder! This world's famous place for human history, but also geology, was nearly deserted and on top of it, it had no water, toiletts and coffeeshop, disfunctional!

Each meal was a symphony of flavours, artfully presented and beautifully paired with exquisite wines. Dining here felt like an occasion in itself — a celebration of taste and artistry. Whether relaxing by the serene courtyard, indulging in a spa treatment, or simply savouring the palace’s tranquil ambiance, I felt completely enveloped in luxury and calm. In every sense, the D'oreale Emperor’s Palace lives up to its name — a true palace where guests are treated like royalty. I left with a full heart, a rejuvenated spirit, and the certainty that I will return. A masterpiece of hospitality — five stars are simply not enough.

This facility is an architectural marvel. The exterior design and the interior 👌 Upon entering, you have access to social amenities that take you there. Casinos 🎰, entertainment joints, gift shops, etc. It's a nice place, especially if you choose to have a date and prefer indoors ambience. Good place for photography.

We saw a production at the theater, and enjoyed dinner afterwards. Emperors is a one stop shop fora variety of entertainment preferences. With all under a single roof, making a selection is easy. The establishment are competing against one other for your patronage resulting is excellent service. The bathrooms are very clean and serviced, and parking is plentiful and safe.

Just from outside there are guards you can tell nothing will go wrong. As you get inside the theme matches every aspect. And the serving of clients. You never get to be on the lookoout for a waiter, they are always on your side just ready to serve you.

Dirty and load. Not much choice in good quality restaurants. Go there if you have to. Old and dated and smells of smoke. Rather go to monte casino. A lot more family friendly. Any restaurant next to or close to including News Caffe needs to be avoided. Lots of drunk patrons , smoking and noise disturbing other restaurant patrons

The place is fantastic, but the jacuzzi is inside the spa and it is ran by a separate company. We came here to relax on the jaccuzzi and found out that it was another charge. We liked that the hotel is connected to the casino, theaters, and restaurants without having to go outside.

Awesome experience! Extremely educational and nice for kids. The displays are well put together and amazing to look at and to interact with, however my experience was short and quick. But awesome. Place was clean and pleasant.

Due to previous flooding, the caves will reopen to visitors in May 2025. There will be an exciting group guided tour at 1 PM! This place is well worth a visit. Although it's small, the entire guided tour takes about an hour and a half! The origins of humans are well-known for several reasons: 1. Out of Africa Theory • The most widely accepted theory about the origin of modern humans (Homo sapiens) is that humans originated in Africa approximately 200,000 years ago and gradually spread throughout the world. 2. Famous fossil evidence • The Great Rift Valley of East Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania) and the "Cradle of Humankind" in South Africa both contain numerous famous fossils. ✨For example: • Lucy (3.2 million years ago, Ethiopia) • The display case title, "Skeletal Locomotion," explains how the human skeletal structure gradually adapted to upright gait.

Exciting experience for both young and old. Loved the museum as it's interactive and very informative, you also move at you own pace unlike at the guided side. The boat ride was just an added bonus for me.

Amazing experience, especially for those interested in human origins and archaeology. However, the exhibition space is quite small and the displays are somewhat limited, which might leave visitors wanting more. It's located far from the city, and unfortunately, transport options are lacking, making it less accessible unless you have your own vehicle. Additionally, the site doesn't offer facilities for spending more time after long trip to reach there, which can be inconvenient for families with kids looking to make a full-day trip out of it. Overall, it's a fascinating but brief visit, best suited for those with a keen interest in history and science, and who are prepared for the travel logistics.

Amazing experience for the family. Unexpected engagement with snakes which they kids and I loved. Food at Neck and Deck restaurant was exceptional. I suggest an early arrival, take time out to enjoy all thats on offer. For the first time we actually ran out of time despite arriving at 11am. Highly recommended.

Absolute bliss! Saw wild dogs, lions, cheetah feedings . Loved the experience. Had personal interactions with the giant snakes as well. Kids loved seeing all the animals in their natural habitats. We didnt get to feed sky the giraffe as we were late. We saw rhinos up close and personal. Baby hippos , plenty squirrels and beautiful big cats . Also location is an hour and half from home. A mini Kruger park in our back yard. 😍

Our recent visit to Bothongo Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve was simply magnificent. We kicked off with a hearty breakfast and then departed on a most rewarding game drive with our super knowledgeable and witty ranger, Joseph, who shared many lesser known facts of nature, bird life, predators and every other plains game we came across. We returned to the Neck & Deck restaurant for a simply delicious lunch on the pool side. This experience is no more than an hour away from anywhere in Gauteng and it feels like you are deep in the bush. Food is great and the connection with nature is so precious. I definitely recommend it for team events or to bring the family. Thank you Bothongo team for the truly memorable experience!

It was a wonderful experience, from the very helpful and polite employees to the animals and the reserve, this reserve is excellent. The Wonder cave was so amazing and stunning, and the young guide explained everything so nicely and made the visit even more interesting than it already was. However it's a shame that we can't do the interactions with the cubs anymore 😕. But except from that everything was great.

I only went to the restaurant, giraffe and bird enclosure. We ate a variety of pizzas and they were excellent. Crispy base, delicious toppings. One suggestion, maybe have a selection of chilli sauces to spice them up rather than just Tabasco.

This was my first ever safari, game reserve visit. It's a scenic location with stunning views and plenty of space (1200 hectares), well organised and a good variety of wildlife.

Very educational and interesting. Q showed us around and was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. He was an excellent ambassador.

History lands gently but firmly here. The rooms feel close and human, and the stories tie big events to everyday details. I’d bring curious teens, visiting friends, or anyone who says they “don’t like museums” and watch them change their mind.

If you are visiting Johannesburg you must visit Liliesleaf Farm—not a working farm but the a tribute to the time and hiding place where Nelson Mandela and cohorts were captured and later imprisoned. Our guide was wonderful —interesting, knowledgeable and interested in us. The opening video was impeccably done and we wished we had watched it a second time after going through all of the exhibits. We learned first hand through videotaped interviews of all who participated what transpired. We learned so much and gave us a fuller understanding of South Africa’s nuanced history.

A historically rich site, and a major turning point in South Africa's history. Great interactive tours. Subtle architecture with considerable preservation. Quite expensive - bring with student cards for half price!

Went for Woman's month celebration. Learnt a lot and more about the heritage site. Quite, clean and secure place to host an intimate function.

Fantastic day out with the family and a must go place if you visit Johannesburg. The casino is very clean and very well maintained. It has lots to offer including gambling machines, quirky shops, lots of places to eat and drink, a food hall and an arcade centre for the kids, as well as bowling, a theatre and a cinema. We had an excellent day here and have been many times over the years.

Visited twice—once in the afternoon and again at night—and it felt like two sides of the same place. Day: easy parking, bright “streets,” and plenty of space to wander. We found a table for coffee and a late lunch without booking, and there were quiet corners where the kids could “just chill” between the arcade and the bird gardens. Signage made it simple to find bathrooms and venues. Night: busier, “date-night” energy around the theatre and cinema. We’d booked dinner, which helped—queues at the popular spots kicked in after 7pm but kept moving. Staff were upbeat, floors were tidy, and it was an easy walk from dinner to the show without feeling rushed. Bottom line: daytime is “laid-back and family-friendly,” nighttime is “lively with lots of choice.” One roof, many options—just book if you’re going for a prime-time meal.

I enjoyed the whole ambiance here. The white roses, along with the great landscaping, were just amazing. The food was okay, not sure it was because it was a business bouquet but for the ambiance I expected much more from the food side. The rooms are sizable enough and cozy.

We didn't go to gamble this time but enjoyed the restaurants and their wide choice of cuisines. Since it's opening the authentic design and decor still hasn't gone out of fashion. It's truly a tourist attraction in our mind!!

Visited one afternoon, and arrived just in time to see the 3pm bird show (there's also one at 11am). It is short but informative, and one is not sure how much more info one could soak up, but we thought perhaps some information on a vulture (we didn't see any there through - but education on their conservation would be beneficial) and a perhaps the flamingos. Most of the few attendees were children so these big colourful birds would attract some interest. There are well kept enclosures of birdlife and other creatures from all over such as kookaburras and lemurs, tortoises, duikers, frogs (which you don't see much of during the day), python, boa constrictor, swans, ducks etc The main area that you could walk through under shadenet had a bit of a urine whiff but the rest was honestly spotless. There's a playarea for kids near the entrance and the flamingos enclosure, lots of educational signage telling you about the different creatures, so it's great for kids of all ages, and those of us just loving nature. The coffee shop kitchen closes at 4pm but there are cool drinks etc that you can purchase between then and closing time. All in all.. an entertaining few hours in nature...in the middle of the city!!

I am glad we went their with the kids. We all had fun. We found a wide variety of bird species. Clean cages and well looked after environment. It was really a good experience and we would happily go again.

If you want to explore many kinds of birds, then this has gotta be your number 1 spot. All birds are beautiful. The place is quite and calm, allowing you to enjoy every corner of it.

A great place. One of my favourite date spots. Good food, really friendly staff, amazing shows and the animals are cared for by really dedicated carers. The lemurs and meerkats are a personal favourite.

We did a Dad’s and kids weekend at MSP and had an absolutely wonderful time. The facilities were great and the walks and swimming experiences were out of this world! We will definitely be back!

Really nice part of the world. If you like camping you will enjoy the rustic living. We went for a weekend but could have stayed a bit longer. Be prepared to do a lot of walking. We experienced some amazing rock pools. There is a small shop but make sure you take enough beers and firewood.

The hike was very nice, although the route not marked very clearly. We were looking for a cave as is indicated on the map provided but could never determine whether "arrived" at the correct place or not.

Absolutely amazing experience. We luckily only saw one monkey. The trails aren’t difficult to find: they are all to either side of the restaurant. An easy way to find the grotto is to follow the black pipe from the reservoir (it’s quite the hike) And the slide pool is further up from where its trail ends. Hope that helps! Signed up for the tour and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were 10min late but missed only a small part of the video introduction - this video needs a serious update and revamp + needs subtitles. A bit sad that they didn’t take us to all the different villages - we missed two - but pleased these were still accessible for us to walk through. (This is where the final star is lost.) Food was delicious but insufficient for the size of the group that was having lunch, so it was disappointing to miss out on some items.

Tour was lively and informative without slipping into “touristy” clichés. The dance performance has real energy, and the homestead walk-throughs are interactive in a respectful way. Buffet lunch was better than expected. Guides handled questions well and kept the group moving at an easy pace. Good for visitors who want a quick, structured overview of local cultures in one stop. Book a timeslot and enjoy it.

This is an amazing place - nice tours of the replica villages. The craft market has a very wide fare of wares to choose from - very reasonably priced if you are a tourist from Europe. The video show, however, needs to be updated - it refers to "Bushmen" and calls King Shaka the "Black Napoleon" as if Napoleon was the gold standard to aspire to. Other than that, this is a fantastic place that is more than worth every single cent you spend.

Super fun and entertaining place. We didn't overnight, but visited the village in the tour. The village part is kind of fake, but it does accomplish to provide an understanding of local ancient cultures. The food was fantastic and we loved the drumming interaction and dance show.

I had an amazing stay and cultural experience at aha Lesedi Village. From the time I checked in to the time I left, I was amazed and everything lived up to my expectations and more. From waking up in a beautifully designed culture specific house designed with detail to going to a spectular breakfast with friendly ladies to getting to enjoy the cultural show was just amazing. Also, I liked that it's a 5 minute drive up the road from lion and safari park which I went to enjoy a lovely safari and dine with views of animals. I highly recommend Lesedi to anyone who loves learning and being immersed in the local culture.

Your office lady is also very nice and helpful, I had to change my booking date 24 hours before our booked date and she helped me with no hassle. Keep the good job going. South of Pretoria, there's a climbing park that keeps little adventurers so busy that you can even enjoy a coffee in peace. Well, if someone didn't keep shouting "Look!" The scenery is postcard-pretty, with five courses for any amount of megalomania, but is your child under seven? Then it's time for the beginners' course and the realization that attempts at negotiation haven't really worked. Probably also a reason for the high level of security. Great, even helicopter parents can breathe a sigh of relief here. From suspension bridges to cable cars, everything's there. It's miniature, but with maximum fun. There's plenty of parking, the prices are very fair, and the journey from Pretoria is stress-free. Our little one loved it; we're now counting down the days until her friend finally turns seven and we can go on the next adventure. 5 out of 5 stars for safety-conscious adrenaline on a child's scale.

It was an exciting and thrilling experience. Very friendly as well as helpful staff. Especially with children. Food was great and prices are affordable. There were meals for breakfast and lunch etc. Would definitely recommend as a family outing and for all the adrenaline junkies. The zip-lines are fun and not too fast and you have different rent courses of difficulty to choose from.

The activities are amazing. However, what put a damper on the day was the fact that we weren't allowed to bring any food into the area - even though we wanted to book a lapa. The manager of the restaurants made it very clear (she was quite rude about it) that only food bought there could be consumed in the premises. This poses a problem as we're Muslim and the restaurant doesn't serve halaal food. When pointed out she shrugged her shoulders and said she doesn't cater for muslims. In this day and age and with us being such a cosmopolitan nation, this was unacceptable. All we wanted was the lapa - which was empty - to set up the birthdays party.

This was our first time visiting Acrobranch Centurion, and sadly, it didn’t go well. We arrived excited but had no idea how the process worked. Instead of being welcomed or guided, we were just told by someone named Betty to stand and wait at the entrance. Every time we tried to ask what was going on or what to expect, she seemed more and more irritated with us. Eventually, I had to speak up about her attitude, but she just ignored us and went back to her laptop. She said she was the manager and that there was no one else we could talk to raise her attitude with us. I asked for someone else and was given the name “Sticks,” but the number we got just went to voicemail. What made it worse was that it felt personal. We noticed that other families, especially of different races, were treated with more kindness and patience. The experience for the kids wasn’t great either. One of the assistants at the yellow course shouted at the children while explaining the rules. It scared my 5-year-old and another child. Instead of making it fun and exciting, it felt harsh and unwelcoming. We were really looking forward to this as it was my sons birthday and his first time trying this, but it ended up being stressful and disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this place based on how we were treated.

Awesome establishment! Tony, our guide, was amazing with our differently abled son. He worked so gently with him and guided him through every activity. He gave him an opportunity to do something that he thought he wouldn't be able to. Well done!

The Big Red Barn is a great place for fun activities for the adventurous at heart. Nice family spot with yummy food at the restaurant, live music on Sundays, Ziplining, acrobranching, hike and bike trails. Great for young and old who love the outdoors.

Nice relaxed walk on a functioning farm. See the cows, chickens and ducks. 2 restaurants on site. A deli to purchase milk, yogurt, pies, ice cream and much more. Beautiful gardens to relax in under the trees. They just planted over 100 rose busses so excited to see them all in flower. Kids play areas

A genuine farm experience in the heart of the city. The venue features two restaurants, a variety of farm animals, and a local dairy offering fresh products such as ginger beer, pies, koeksisters, cream cheese, and more. My children absolutely love this place, especially because of the cows, animals, ponds, fish, ducks, and farm machinery.

What a refreshing outing! Irene Farm is a standout 'farm in the city' experience. I really enjoyed the Sunday hangout, good tasted good and though it was packed, the waitress tried by all means to reach out to us. The facilities are perfect for a Sunday brunch with family and the kids.

We spend the day at Irene farm. Very beautiful and great for the kids to see how a dairy farm works. All was fine till we went to THE BARN. Not really anything to get excited about. Food was tasty but took long. Staff not in a hurry. Our waitress Nocisebo looks upset to assist,rolling her eyes if asked we something and really not in a hurry to be helpfull.I must mention we where quite a big table. Some burgers where half dressed with garnish as if they could not care and just wanted to get rid of us. Great atmosphere but not worth the time to eat at the BARN if staff don't care. The main shop is great and made the day a better experience.

A short 25 minute drive from Pretoria East you'll find a wonderful day outing in the Rietvlei Nature Reserve. At a total cost of R125 for one adult and a kid it is absolutely worth the fee. The staff are friendly, from the moment you enter the gate, to purchasing tickets and entering the Reserve. All were friendly and welcoming. We packed a picnic, our camera and embarked on a self-drive fueled by a bunch of excitement to be out in Nature in search of wildlife. The roads are easily drive able even in a small hatch back vehicle. We stopped at three different bird hides/ lookout points and each were well maintained. We enjoyed a slow meander and eventually ended up at the coffee shop. There is a section that is home to a few Donkeys which the kids love to feed ( bring a bag of carrots, you'll be a favourite) . We enjoyed a coffee and an ice-cream before heading back out to look at more game and birds. We saw a meerkat, lots of Buffalo , zebras, ostriches, and a number of birds. Not much bird variety, but it was midday. After enjoying a good 4.5 hours of driving around we headed back home. There is are restrooms at Reception, by the coffee shop and at the Finfoot hide. All of which were decently maintained and had loo paper. We will most certainly become more regular visitors.

What a pleasant surprise!!! Right on our doorstep and yet I have not frequented the reserve before. It was so easy to get into the reserve, staff were helpful and friendly and it was a day that was really relaxing to view the game and try to spot those elusive cheetahs. Visit the picknic spot, it is so tranquil but get there early if you want a good spot. The old farm house now operating as a restautant needs some tlc. I see how specific little trinkets can produce a steady flow of cash for the reserve from those who want a souvenir.

Close to town but it feels like a small bush day. We rolled the windows down, followed gravel tracks along the water, and sat quietly when the plains opened up. A white rhino sighting turned the whole car into kids for five minutes. Picnic spots are simple and the light is lovely toward evening. You leave dust-coated and happy.

It was a pleasant experience. Innitially we only saw a few animals, like ostridge, a fox, and I think its a Hartebees, but then we found an abundance of animals, especially around the Jakkalsdraai road, that is on your right hand side when you enter the main gate. The Zebras were the best because they are playfull. Also Wildebeest. The scenery is beautiful. It felt as if we were in the bosveld. It was drizzling, but we were still able to go out with raincoats, whereever we were allowed to exit the vehicle. The Lookout stations were topnotch, it was sponsored by "friends of Rietvlei".Unfortunately we couldn't see hippos. . We ordered an omelette at the restaurant/house with memorabillia dated back to the 1900's. I think it's best if you pre- book with the wildlife rangers, they know all the hotspots. I will surely go back again, cause you can braai at the picnic site

We had a wonderful time here. Saw quite a few different animals. Roads are also in good condition for all types of vehicles which is a big plus! We stopped at the coffee shop which served some really great food. Next time we will make use of the lovely braai facilities.

One of the best bakery section I have visited lately! We bought the freshest Chelsea Buns from them and it was so enticing we sat on a bench to enjoy it there and then. The shopping centre itself is easily accessible, have an outstanding range of merchants, great parking and a well equipped food court. Always a highlight to visit when they have their regular cars shows and displays.

Wow the rustic modern ,elegant architecture,classic style and look 👌. Tranquility it is so amazing ,awesome and the air you breathe is breathtaking. You came to shop at the same time you are very relaxed. I can not get bored to come here time and again.

They celebrated folk music from Greece, Belly dancing from Morocco, Greek dancing, and lots of Abba's music on Human Rights Day. More than 100 stalls exciting crystal, Murano glass, vintage clothing, and local and international cuisine.

Loved the mall and the concept of all at the ground floor... Loved exploring the shops... I felt that there were more discounts here than the big malls. Bought some gifts from the local store which was fun.. so much open space for kids to run and play.

Lovely "outdoor" mall. Good selection of restaurants and shops. If you aren't in the mood for the big concrete malls, then try this one. From May until August, there is a carnival available in the parking lot. A wonderful experience for both kids and adults.

What a truly impressive shopping center, offering a delightful array of shops. It's a pleasure to simply wander through. The parking facilities are convenient, and the security personnel are both friendly and helpful. The service provided is exceptional. I certainly plan to return.

I really enjoyed the ride. Would definitely recommend the open 2 sitter one. As someone who tried both. No obstructed view and it’s not as scary as it looks. There’s a restaurant at the top. You can also do zip lining there at the top.

A must do when in Harties, carts looks clean and well looked after, seamless from parking, ticketing and ride. There are multiple shaded sitting areas that are all non-smoking, with bean bags for those that wants the sun. The are waiters that serves the areas and the area and it's bathrooms are clean too. Really nice overall experience!! There are name boards with information of close by towns, Botswana, mines etc. the walkway (dasie path) is paved and a walk around easy. Skypwark is interesting too. So much to do and taste up there!!!!

The staff that handle getting passengers onto the cable cars are negligent. Not giving proper instructions, for example, notice that the cable car doors close automatically mid way up. The restaurants on the mountain, zero customer service, upon arrival no attendance when we are literally standing in front of the staff, I had to get my own menu on the front desk, follow a waiter around to merely place an order thus in the end giving up and calling it a day. So unprofessional. The 3 stars are for the wonderful welcome from the security, cashier who handled our ticket purchase and the views.

The cable car was fun. The views from the top are amazing. We ate at 360° and the food was good but be warned, there is a long wait for it. We waited an hour for our orders. Leaving took a while as there was a thirty minute queue for the cable car down. I'd recommend arriving and leaving earlier to avoid this.

We did the 2 seater ride and it was awesome. The views are beautiful. I recommend it! The waiting overall was too much. I suggest buying tickets online, we waited about 30-40min for tickets, another 10min to get on the ride. When we got to the restaurant “Asado Grill”, it took us 10min to find a seat, another 15-20min just to place an order, then waited about an hour for food. We initially planned to do the sky park but after all that waiting, we decided otherwise. Even getting the bill took long 😭 We decided to go to the 360 Degrees restaurant for dessert. We were assisted to find a table but not given menus, we waited about 10min and then left before anyone could attend to us. The waiting time for everything really threw us off.

Amazing to be on top of the mountain at Harties. Service is good, and when it's your birthday you get a free ticket. Food is fabulous.

It was a great experience the place is a home away from home and the staff is an awesome team. I loved and enjoyed every minute spent there, will definitely visit again.

This is a must do while in South Africa ! I enjoyed seeing the cheetahs up close and learning so much about them ! They have so much freedom and space and live a wonderful life ! The cheetah run and game drive feedings are incredible! I had no idea that they had wildebeests, zebras and vultures as well! Nikki was very responsive to emails , and Sam and Winston were the best tour guides! Thank you for such a lovely day !

We truly enjoyed our visit to the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre! Our guide was very knowledgeable & told us many interesting facts about the animals there, including the cheetahs, & answered our many questions. As frequently travelers, we’ve visited numerous centres & seen many animals. We were MOST impressed as to how healthy & well-fed these animals were…something we’ve not always seen! I give highest marks to this centre & staff for their obvious dedication and care. This centre is definitely worth visiting!

Excellent walking tour. We saw amazing cats of various types and kinds. Truly a special experience and I would highly recommend. Preferably do it in the morning when it is a bit cooler and the animals a little more mobile. Excellent guide Jemima, knowledgeable, friendly, and loves her job. They have several package options including the cheetah run. Look it up on their website as this is their most popular package.

Kinderplaas Zoo is a small zoo with a variety of animals and birds, including bunnies, various types of fowl, a donkey, guinea pigs, pigs, peacocks, and more. My kids really enjoyed our visit. I understand that many of the animals here are rescues, and I wish the owner all the best for their efforts. We will definitely visit again.

Awesome, Kids had much fun. Variety of Animals present. Feeding of animals was really cool for them. Other outdoor activities and Train ride as well. On a lazy day, take out the kids.

Lovely place to take the kids. However the place is quiet small so your not spending 2hrs there. The kids will love seeing the animals and they too love humans. There's also a sitting area where you have some snacks and enjoy the farm smell

We had a lovely afternoon at the petting zoo. Little Miss absolutely adored being able to feed the animals and pet some of the smaller ones. The animals are lovely and very interested in company. Suzette, the owner, is also very kind and keen to tell you about every animal :) she answered any questions we had and made us feel very welcome.

Perfect getaway from the buzzing city life. As usual my daughter loved interacting with the bunnies although this time around they weren't all over her. The employees are very friendly and it remains the closest affordable petting zoo near me. R25 gets you in and a bucket containing spinach leaves, cabbage leaves, carrots and chicken feed is R20.

Very nice outing R25 gets you in... Needs a bit of attention, fresh water... but very nice. Adorable farm animals... Awesome place for kids...

The animals appear to be in good condition, but the place is dirty and neglected. The tea garden was closed, which was disappointing. Did not felt safe for child to play on play equipment.
