Come here to get your education about elephants and see up close these beautiful gentle giants! We came as part of our tour and the group wasn’t too big. First, you get a nice introduction of the elephants and see a bit of their personalities. The handlers tell of the elephants backgrounds and information on each individual elephant. Then you get to have a hands on experience with the elephants and can even go for a short walk with them (extra $). Overall, the handlers seemed to care extensively for the elephants and we really enjoyed getting to hear statistics about them! Definitely recommend if you are an animal lover.
Amber — Google review
It was a magical experience, the trainers educated us on the elephants, allowed us to touch the elephants with several photo opportunities. We went for a ride and it was mesmerizing to be able to ride an elephant in South Africa. A great and unforgettable adventure.
N H — Google review
One of the best experiences I’ve ever had! It’s something truly unique, you won’t find anything like it anywhere else in the world. Being so close and personal with these incredible elephants was both humbling and unforgettable. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly care deeply for the animals. It’s an experience that stays with you long after you leave absolutely worth it!
Wickus W — Google review
What a cool & fun experience this was!! The staff were great & we learned a lot about elephants. Getting to ride one was icing on the cake! I loved that we were able to touch different parts of the elephants. I recommend paying the extra money & putting them to bed!
Stefan W — Google review
Very informative session. We learnt a lot. It was evident that the staff cared about the elephants as seen in the way they spoke to them and about them. We loved the experience. Next time we will do the sunset ride.
Mpho N — Google review
Its a must if you go to the area!! I had such a good experience. You get to learn and know so much about the elephants. Never thought I will be that nervous to even touch one. The whole team do an absolute great job!!
Cocuti R — Google review
I had an absolutely amazing time, we met Tembo upclose but the other lovely elephants(Lindiwe, Andile, Shamwari and the cute bull named after a tree I forgot his name 🙃😘) showed us some amazing tricks they learned. It was an educational experience — the team allowed us to also ask Tembo to do some tricks for us. Experiencing these majestic creatures so close and even getting to hug them was amazing. I got the 1hr interaction which comprised of about 30m learning and 30m playtime with Tembo. 😍

Perry's Bridge Reptile Park, located in Hazyview, Mpumalanga, South Africa, is a top tourist attraction that houses over 80 reptiles including snakes, crocodilians, tortoises, and lizards. The park offers educational shows with animal demonstrations and feedings from 10 am to 5 pm every day.
We had the most amazing time at Perry’s reptile park. An extensive and beautiful exhibit, the animals are well cared for and the staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. My son will have these fond memories forever! Thank you to Jovial Jason who made our family holiday even more special.
Lee N — Google review
Must see reptile park with wide variety of interesting snakes, tortoises, monitors, frogs, spiders, crocodiles and other reptiles. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. All exhibits and animals are well maintained. Great day out as it is close to a lot of shops and restaurants. There are also a lot of feedings throughout the day that might be worth wile planning around, but you can also just pitch up.
Coenraad M — Google review
The owner is super enthusiastic and passionate about the park and it's creatures and it shows. The talk was super informative and full of passion. The park's animals are all well fed, cages well kept and the park self was also clean and well kept. The curious shop offered some of the most reasonably priced curio items in the area. Staff is friendly. Overall a great experience with two Dragon species I've never seen in my life before.
Nico P — Google review
Perry’s Bridge Reptile Park is a must-visit gem in Hazyview—especially for the 11:00 a.m. venomous snake presentation, which is as thrilling as it is educational. Tucked into lush tropical gardens, Perry’s Bridge Reptile Park offers a captivating blend of adventure, conservation, and hands-on learning. From the moment you step inside, you’re immersed in a world of fascinating creatures—massive constrictors, vibrant lizards, curious tortoises, and even crocodiles lounging in their enclosures. But the true highlight? The 11:00 a.m. venomous snake demonstration. This isn’t just a show—it’s an eye-opening, expertly delivered presentation that demystifies some of the world’s most feared reptiles. The handlers are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, weaving together science, safety, and storytelling in a way that keeps both kids and adults riveted. You’ll leave with a newfound respect for these misunderstood animals and a deeper appreciation for the role they play in our ecosystems. The park is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out, making it easy to explore at your own pace. Whether you’re a family with curious kids, a wildlife enthusiast, or just looking for something unique to do , this place delivers.
G I — Google review
A worthwhile experience and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety. If you can attend one of the demonstrations. We did the 11:00 demonstration for venomous snakes. Really memorable! Plenty of parking. You can buy tickets at the tour guys as you enter. Morris was also really amazing!
Sean K — Google review
Coming from someone who is mild afraid of reptiles as a whole I had a fun time — the interaction helped clear some fears for me and seeing these snakes, and lizards. Learning about the diet, and some more characteristics made them a lot less scary. The best part was getting to touch what I thought would be a scary scaly creature turned out to be the best part of my afternoon. The Boas 🐍 were so beautiful, so cooling lol it was a hot day and the girls were so friendly too they love being handled. They were not even scaly at all just oh so cute and smooth. Saw some iguanas and loads more lizards. And beautiful spiders too, some geckos and frogs. 🐸 🦎 🕷 The crocs were also cool to see, the Nile crocs are in their 40s and they are huge. Both them and the alligators had recently had babies and we got to see the babies. 🐊
Buyile M — Google review
They had way more snakes than what we expected so it was a nice surprise and there are detailed info boards at every snake and spider etc which was nice you could see what's venomous and what's not and whats deadly and what not and details about habitats diets and more so it was nice
Wickus E — Google review
Awesome, it surprised us how much animals they actually have, looks like they are well treated and kept. Some cool local species but also species from around the world!

Nestled between the breathtaking Blyde River Canyon and the southern reaches of Kruger National Park, Shangana Cultural Village offers an enriching glimpse into the vibrant life of the Shangaan people. This charming village features traditional thatched huts and a lively craft market where visitors can admire exquisite beadwork and other local crafts. As you wander through this cultural haven, you'll be captivated by fireside folk songs that echo the rich heritage of its residents.
I had a lovely time in this place. I will definitely visit again.
Lulama M — Google review
Great place. Wonderful experience
Calvin M — Google review
The show was spectaculair, but the market a bit of a disappointment. I doubt they make this themselves as I saw the same souvenirs at other stands. The good they served after the show is good. They're all very friendly. (A bit expensive though)
Wouter K — Google review
You can enjoy the shangaan heritage and the history of the soshangana (manikusi his real name) when he moved from the then natal to the southern part and defeated the people the and subjected them to his rule and called them Amashangana ( shangaans) and named them Magaza after his grandfather as they are today called MAGAZA
Jeremiah M — Google review
Ratio price/ experience doesn't justify at all this price. I still wonder if people are living there all year long or only during tourist visit... there are definitely some other places to visit before.
Michael H — Google review
We went there on Sunday and the solace seemed ghosty. There was no one to help us or any notice that the place was closed. We let ourselves in and out without anyone coming to attend us

All I can say is Wow. This was one of the most incredible experiences I have had. Being do close to these amazing animals and actually seeing them up close and personal. They are truly amazing. My wife and I had a great time and will never forget it. The staff are very welcoming and very informative giving a person a quick lesson about elephants. They are amazing would suggest people go and support thes two elephants that were rescued.
Colin P — Google review
This was an amazing experience. We were with a group (about 20 people) and our party was of 6. We learned about the elephants and were able to feel and touch them and then take a walk with them. It was amazing. The guides were well informed and patient.
Mimi S — Google review
For those who want a close up and personal experience with these gentle giants, the Elephant Sanctuary is the place to be as they have interactions with elephants where you can feed them, give them water and even touch them or hug them for those of you who are adventurous. The trainers are very friendly and give very detailed and interesting information about the elephants. This is a once in a lifetime experience and the price isn't bad as well plus children are free under a certain age. I highly recommend this experience for everyone as well as foreigners in the area as you won't regret it.

An experience I will never forget! The staff was so friendly and taught us so much! Today they made my dreams come true. My husband and I will definitely go back for another experience. It was great!

Elephant sanctuary is truly an authentic experience with the elephants, losts of thing regarding elephants I did not even know. There is a curio shop outside with beautiful things. They take photos and a movies and compile everything for you, you can take photos of your own. This place is highly recommended.

What a wonderful experience! This guide with the trainers are so dedicated and well informed. They have a vast knowledge of elephant behaviour and you can see they love and respect these animals.

One of the best life experiences that I will cherish. To have such a beauty of a God created creature standing next to you the size of a Cat truck was just phenomenal! I would recommend to anyone! The Three Rondavels, also known as The Three Sisters, are a stunning trio of mountain peaks that resemble traditional African beehive huts. Nestled along the breathtaking Panorama Route in Mpumalanga, these majestic rock formations rise dramatically above the Blyde River Canyon, offering one of the most iconic vistas in the region.
A definite must see location. It is extremely beautiful and you could just sit for hours watching the view

Take some time to bond with nature. This place is gorgeous 😍. Don't do this if you have fear of heights. The barriers are limited. Majestic views, so breathtaking, if you have a drone, this is a place to fly. Some hike, if you have the nuts for it. There are markets for merch. Don't snooze for this place. Downside is that there are limited vantage points but you won't regret it. Enjoy & please be safe!!!

We had a 30 minute stop on our way back to Johannesburg after our safari. Beautiful views, enjoyed the quick stop.
Jacob K — Google review
One of the best viewpoints in South Africa! There’s a small entrance fee (cash/card accepted) and a short walk from the parking lot to the main viewing area. Clear signage, decent facilities, and absolutely stunning views of the canyon and the Three Rondavels.
Kim K — Google review
An absolutely stunning viewpoint! The Three Rondavels is one of those places that truly captures the magic of Mpumalanga. The panoramic views over the Blyde River Canyon are breathtaking- the layered cliffs, deep valleys, and the iconic three mountain peaks shaped like traditional rondavel huts. The viewpoint is easy to access, with safe walkways and plenty of space to enjoy the scenery. It’s a fantastic spot for photos, and the natural beauty is even more impressive in person than in pictures. Peaceful, majestic, and uniquely South African—highly recommended!
Preshema S — Google review
The beautiful nature made up for the restaurant not having coffee or milkshakes but is still the best of the public siteseeing attractions in the area. Especially after the letdown of the facilities at the potholes.
Francois V — Google review
Great views. If you have time and are planning some days before your visit, you should book a canyon cruise as well. Would have been even greater sights
Christian E — Google review
The views are beautiful, more beautiful when the grass is green. Entry is now cashless. And there’s food stores that actually work now. The last time I was here there weren’t any stores and you could pay cash to enter.. they also have safety monitors to prevent people from endangering themselves.

Blyde River Canyon is a massive natural attraction known for its diverse wildlife and stunning views. It's situated perfectly for exploring the Panorama Route, offering various day trip options such as Classic Touring and Exceptional Touring in Hoedspruit. The canyon itself is an awe-inspiring sight, stretching 60 kilometers with towering cliffs up to 700 meters high. This green chasm houses a river winding through sub-tropical jungle teeming with wildlife and thrilling rapids.
honestly one of the highlights of our trip! The views are absolutely breathtaking, from the cliffs to the deep green river. Nature at its best. What made it even better was our tour guide hilarious and full of energy! He kept us laughing the whole way while still dropping some cool facts about the area.
Zephinath — Google review
My second favourite stop on the Panaroma Route. The views around the time of golden hour for sunset are very spectacular. So peaceful and only a 5 min walk from the carpark. Down in the valley below is a lake. Apparently the Australian version of 'Im a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here' is filmed in the canyon below. Keep a look out for birds.
Timeshare C — Google review
The views are beautiful. There’s a nice place to grab some food inside too.
Irene A — Google review
BREATH TAKING!!! Very beautiful view of the canyon. Simply amazing. A trip highlight.
Soledad R — Google review
A must-visit spot when exploring Mpumalanga. The views will leave you speechless.
Hassaan T — Google review
This place is as everyone stated. I saved an image for my profile pic I enjoyed it that much. It's a colorful, picturesque landscape that is also quite peaceful and relaxing. Toured it twice from above and then the river cruise. I did miss God's window due to intense fog. Make sure you check the weather conditions. Highly recommended.
NatFan — Google review
I'm still reeling from the breathtaking beauty of the Blyde River Canyon! As the last stop on my Panorama Route journey, it exceeded all expectations and left me speechless. The sheer scale and majesty of this natural wonder is awe-inspiring, with lush subtropical vegetation and towering cliffs that seem to stretch on forever. Standing at the edge, I felt tiny in comparison, and the panoramic views took my breath away. I feel incredibly lucky to have experienced its beauty
Zee J — Google review
For many South Africans, the Sabie area, God’s Window, and the Three Rondavels are familiar and well-loved destinations. However, for international visitors, I highly recommend making the Blyde River Canyon region a priority. The viewpoint overlooking the Three Rondavels is truly breathtaking and offers one of the most iconic landscapes in the country. The formation is named the “Three Rondavels” because the three rock structures resemble traditional African rondavel huts—rounded, hut-like shapes that look like three natural “houses” carved into the landscape. It is a unique and memorable sight, and an essential stop for anyone exploring South Africa. Make sure to include this remarkable area in your travel plans when visiting the country.

God's Window is a popular lookout point offering panoramic views of a forested valley, making it a paradise for photographers. Adventure seekers can indulge in activities like abseiling, river rafting, fly fishing, rock climbing, and bush walks. The area also boasts the third largest and greenest canyon in the world - Blyde River Canyon - along with other attractions like Three Rondavels and Barberton Makhonjwa Mountains.
Beautiful place! Highly recommend taking the stairs to the top if you can, but if you’re unable I promise the views from below are just as amazing. The key to come early (before rain clouds roll in) or immediately after the rain stops!
Payal A — Google review
It was great. I don't post pictures or videos of the actual features so that others can go see it for themselves. You can see Mozambique from here and that's amazing. We went in July, and we could see as far as binoculars allowed. I've been here a couple of times and we couldn't see much. This period seems to be better. We enjoyed the walk up, the various available paths made it meditative and kept it fresh.
NOMHLE N — Google review
God’s Window is truly a beautiful spot, but unfortunately I visited on a foggy day and couldn’t see much of the view. Even so, the place itself is peaceful and the walkways are nice. I’d definitely recommend checking the weather before going, because on a clear day it must be absolutely breathtaking.
Vutlhari N — Google review
It was an absolutely amazing experience ❤️ worth the hike. The hike was not too long just steep but the views are incredible and so worth it. Reasonable entrance fees for S. African citizens not too sure about the entry for non-citizen visitors — beautiful experience nonetheless. There are stalls of beautiful handmade memorabilia also worth looking at and getting to keep as a reminder. The road leading to God's window also has amazing views of the valleys and mountains, would 10/10 recommend visiting it.
Buyile M — Google review
Mpumalanga has uncharted scenic views. A testimony of the diversity of South Africa’s nature. God’s Window & nearby views (e.g. Blyde River Canyon) are one of those unofficial wonders of the world. As regards God’s Window please don’t have unrealistic expectations of actual window from heaven, but be prepared for breathtaking views.
Bonginkosi Z — Google review
I'm still in awe of the breathtaking beauty of God's Window! The walk up to the window is an adventure in itself, requiring comfortable shoes and a bit of stamina, but trust me, it's worth every step. As you ascend, the scenery unfolds, and the anticipation builds, culminating in a jaw-dropping panoramic view that will leave you speechless. The majestic vistas stretching out before you are simply indescribable – a true marvel of nature. God's Window is a must-visit destination, and I'd recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable experience. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, bring your camera, and be prepared to have your breath taken away!
Zee J — Google review
Have you ever witnessed a truly remarkable experience? The vistas are exceptionally stunning. The trek to the location and onward to the Rain Forest is physically demanding. However, the experience is rewarding. The facilities are maintained to a high standard.

Bourke's Luck Potholes

Mentioned on

Geologic Formations
Bourke's Luck Potholes is a renowned geological attraction shaped by water erosion over millions of years. The swirling eddies of the Treur and Blyde Rivers have gradually worn away the Black Reef quartzite, creating stunning waterfalls and potholes. Visitors can explore walkways and bridges to witness the breathtaking red, beige, and earthy-toned rock formations as well as observe the cascading waterfalls that plunge over 20 meters deep.
It is truly remarkable how nature's beauty can captivate us completely. The scenery presented is incredibly stunning and evokes a sense of awe. The captivating sights of cascading water and unique formations leave a lasting impression. The whole experience is simply breathtaking and wonderfully satisfying. Overall, this is a truly unforgettable spectacle.

Such an wonderful place full of nooks and crannies. It was very interesting to see all the different rock formations made by the water. I must say that I found the prices to be quite high but at the end of the day it was well worth the visit.

Its a lovely spot. My only concern is the people who ignore signs demarcation the safe areas. Price wise it was R75 a person . Well worth it .
Vishika S — Google review
Wow this place is beautifully peaceful, from rock formations, beautiful flowing water to waterfalls. Walking here feels like everything is going to be okay like all your worries/burdens are lifted off your shoulders...the environment is really therapeutic. I spent longer time here because i emmersed my feet in the pothole and forgot reality I zoned out because of how much comfort i felt...an amazing feeling...reasonable restrictions ❤️❤️

What a stunning place. Enjoyed the beautiful scenery and got some amazing images from this spot. There’s a lot of walking so make sure to take comfortable shoes for walking. Definitely worth it.
Itumeleng M — Google review
My favourite stop on the Panorama Route. The Bourke's Luck Potholes have been formed over thousands of years of water erosion. The paths are accessible until you reach the bridges section and then there are stairs. Really stunning views. Keep a look out for the stunning Double Collared Sunbirds sucking nectar in the carpark trees.

Waterfalls
Berlin Falls, the highest waterfall in Mpumalanga, is a stunning natural wonder that forms part of the Blyde River Canyon. The falls cascade down an 80-meter sheer cliff, resembling a giant candle with water fanning out as it drops into a pool below. Named during the Gold Rush by European miners, these falls are declared a national monument and offer an unforgettable sight with their jade-colored waters set against red cliffs.
Beautiful spot! Can get crowded, so come early and be patient. Bring cash if you’d like to buy a souvenir from the vendors. But be wary of the bathrooms, especially if traveling alone… doors didn’t lock, and there were no toilet seats or soap.
Payal A — Google review
R20 entrance fee. Beautiful waterfall. Unfortunately the R20 entrance fee is not used for maintenance of the facility. Walk way down to the waterfall view point is over grown with weeds and some of the paving bricks are missing (be careful when walking there, especially older people) Facility buildings are in need of maintenance, repairs and paint.

Pretty fall but the view is a bit distant. Easy access, no hike required. Still worth a visit if you’re doing the full Panorama Route, just manage expectations.

The Pinnacle Rock is a stunning 30-meter quartzite tower surrounded by lush forest, offering panoramic views from a nearby platform. Located along the Panorama Route, it provides an awe-inspiring backdrop for nature enthusiasts. This hidden gem is often overlooked by tourists, making it a tranquil spot to soak in the natural beauty. The surrounding area also features attractions like Mac Mac Falls, Pilgrim's Rest, God's Window, Blyde River Canyon, and Bourke's Luck Potholes.
Since the weather was rainy and everything foggy. We couldn’t see the rock. I am giving 5 stars as the security at the entrance kiosk suggested that nothing will be visible your money would go wasted.

It is nice small place to discover with 1 huge rock in middle and water fall, landscape close by. Entrance fee for international tourist is 60 baht

Pinnacle Rock is a hidden gem in Mpumalanga! The short walk to the rock is easy and scenic, and the views are simply breathtaking. The 30-meter tall quartzite rock is a stunning sight, and the surrounding indigenous forest adds to the natural beauty. I was also impressed by the lovely waterfall nearby, which was a lovely bonus. The entrance fee is reasonable, and the facilities are clean and well-maintained.

Stunning views. Well kept and clean. Just take your own toilet paper

There are way better stops at the panorama route. It’s a nice rock but that’s it. Only visit if you really want to see this rock with your own eyes. Better spend more time at Gods Window or drive to Lisbon Falls. (You’ll also not spend a lot of time at Lisbon Falls but it’s more spectacular than this rock)
Niek H — Google review
A natural skyscraper,Sandton has nothing on this beautiful natural phenomenon. The view is breathtaking from every angle, and the serenity of the surrounding forest makes you feel completely at peace.Standing there, you can’t help but admire how effortlessly powerful and graceful nature can be. The mist rolling across the cliffs adds a magical touch, almost like the mountain is breathing. If you love scenic spots, fresh air, and raw natural beauty, The Pinnacle Rock is an absolute majestic.

Yep, beautiful spot, great rock formation and a lovely waterfall. As 4 international visitors we found paying R240 was steep though, especially for infrastructure that clearly hasn't seen any real love for decades.

They was no wait to enter. We purchased tickets at the gate to enter. We visited in January. The walk to the waterfall is on gravel. The views were beautiful, and the water was cold.

Lisbon Falls is a breathtaking 308-ft. waterfall located near Graskop, South Africa. It is the highest waterfall in Mpumalanga, with water cascading over craggy canyon walls before plunging into the gorge below. Named by European miners during the gold rush era, it offers a viewing platform near the car park at the top and an adventurous hike to its base.
I prefer these falls than Berlin falls. They are beautiful and there are 3 waterfalls. The water is clear and you can see inside the river. Entrance R25 p.p if you are a South African citizen.

B....E....A.....UUUUtiful falls. Nice and adequate parking. Do visit this place if you're in Panorama Route. The only thing I don't understand is the ticket for it. Although it's not much but i don't think it's necessary. Per person, it's R25 for SA nationals and R50 for foreigners. A local mentioned it used to be free just a few years ago. Anyway, even with the small fee, one must go. There are some local handicrafts/ souvenirs at the parking area. The view point is nicley placed to have a full view of falls and the surroundings. The scenery around the falls make it even more beautiful.
Ammar M — Google review
😍Beautiful... However the view point is incorrectly positioned,it doesn't really show the waterfall fully and the space is very limited. They should extend it to parts they currently restricted access to because that's actually where the view point is clearer and breathtaking. A tour bus came and there wasn't enough space to fit everyone had to quickly leave to make room for incoming tourists which for me was unfair because I didn't pay to spend 2 seconds there, the view point really needs to be extended. The waterfalls are really beautiful ❤️
Patience S — Google review
There is no trail. You pay R25 per person to the water fall from the top of the hill. Should you choose to go beyond the fence and try the trail it is at your own risk.
Zaynudeen M — Google review
Simply amazing. Took a walk about halfway done the walking track to get a slightly better view.

When in Mpumalanga, one must definitely visit Lisbon Falls. The short hike down offers incredible views and the sound of the waterfall echoing through the valley is just amazing. A perfect stop for nature lovers and photographers alike.

Beautiful waterfalls. Peaceful and unique to see nature with the mountains and clean clear water. My Australian students loved it.

Another photostop on the Panorama Tour. Lisbon Falls wasnt heavily flowing in this visit given the time of year. It would be more spectacular in the wet season around February. Some market sellers under the covered area selling souvenirs.

Waterfalls
Mac Mac Falls is a stunning attraction in Mpumalanga, known for its twin waterfalls that drop 70 meters into a deep gorge. The falls are named after the Scottish miners who came to the area during the gold rush of the 1870s. While swimming at the falls is not permitted due to safety reasons, downstream from Mac Mac Pools offers an ideal spot for picnicking and swimming.
Do not drive past and miss out. Lovely to see. You are not supposed to walk down to the bottom of the falls, bit if you are South African and friendly to the staff they will show you which no entry sign to walk part to get down there.

Absolutely stunning view. It was very easy to find and a quick little walk down. The market ladies were friendly....a little persistent but friendly nun the less. R20 entry is nothing to pay for the experience.

A local mentioned it used to be free just a few years ago. Anyway, even with the small fee, one must go. There are some local handicrafts/ souvenirs at the parking area. What I didn't like about this fall was how the view point is made. The fence bars are so high that they block/ hinder the view to this amazing fall. Thankfully i had a drone so i could bypass those bars but i think something like nearby falls (lisbon & berlin) could've been done which doesn't block your view.
Ammar M — Google review
There are several spots where you can sit and look at the waterfall. You just have to climb a few steps. If the first bench is taken, there's another one not far from there. The waterfall is stunning, especially against the backdrop of the side of the rocks. As it hit the bottom, it seemed to be smoking. Reminds me of the native beliefs around water. As usual, I don't post features because you must come see it for yourself. Again, a few ladies and gentlemen are selling things here. I think they could bring in some variety and target local tourists. Probably modernize what's for sale. The lady at security was friendly and efficient.

Nestled just behind the Nelspruit Value Mart Complex and along the route to White River, the Lowveld National Botanical Garden is a true gem of South Africa. Spanning an impressive 159 hectares, this botanical paradise boasts a rich tapestry of over 2,600 plant species, including 600 indigenous varieties and more than 2,000 non-native plants. Visitors can explore diverse ecosystems ranging from lush African rainforests to remarkable collections of cycads and fig trees.
Beautiful nature scenery. The day was extremely hot and we did not walk through the whole garden, but the waterfalls are not to miss. I absolutely was in awe of the beauty.

As we stopped in the parking area we could hear the waterfall after all the rain they had. Walking down the walkway through the trees we could feel the fine mist from the falls falling on us and as we turned to the view point we were blown away by what we saw. The water was gushing down. It was super cool! This place is beautiful and affordable.

Two words: amazing and peaceful (we loved the place) we were doing a video shoot for a wedding invitation. What an spectacular environment
Zenaviv M — Google review
The Lowveld National Botanical Garden offers an exceptional visitor experience, showcasing both natural beauty and ecological diversity. The rainforest section is particularly impressive, providing an immersive environment that highlights the region’s unique flora. The Cascade Waterfall is another outstanding feature, presenting a striking visual focal point and enhancing the overall ambience of the garden. While the site is well-maintained, there is an observable concern regarding waste accumulation in certain areas of the Crocodile River, where plastic bottles and paper occasionally collect. This underscores the importance of visitor responsibility in preserving the ecological integrity of the space. In conclusion, the garden remains a premier destination for relaxation, education, and environmental appreciation, deserving of the highest rating.

I called i'langa mall offices today and asked them until what time dischem was open today, on Heritage day. The lady responded that all the shops were open until 17.00hrs. I arrived at dischem around 15.05 only to find that the shutters were down. Asked the guard if they were closed and he said " Yes come back tomorrow'. I then said that the mall mentioned that all shops were closing at 5.00 pm. There was a lady from dischem standing next to the guard and she retorted that I must take this up with the mall management as they close at 15.00 hrs. I then called the office at the mall again and she reiterated that Dischem was supposed to close only at 5.00pm and that she would take this up with the store manager. Don't know what transpired after that. Seems like the mall is run like the wild west and there are no uniform rules regarding timing. Each store will open and close when they feel like and shoppers drive all the way based on the wrong information by mall management.

Sabie Falls is a picturesque waterfall located near the small town of Sabie. The area also features other nearby attractions such as Bridal Veil Falls and Mac Mac Falls, making it a great stop for nature lovers. Visitors can enjoy an easy walk to the falls, with the option to climb rocks for a closer view. While some have expressed concerns about maintenance and entrance fees, many appreciate the beauty of the falls and surrounding Azalea garden.
A Hidden Gem in Mpumalanga I recently visited Sabie Falls, and it was love at first sight! The sound of the water cascading down the falls is mesmerizing, and the scenery is simply stunning. The entrance fee is incredibly affordable, at only R20, making it a great destination for anyone looking to experience nature's beauty without breaking the bank. The falls are nestled in a picturesque landscape, surrounded by lush forests and scenic views. It's a great spot for hiking, photography, or simply taking in the sights and sounds of nature. I highly recommend parking at the picnic spot and taking the scenic circular route, which is about 7 kilometers long. Overall, Sabie Falls is a must-visit destination in Mpumalanga. Its natural beauty, affordability, and accessibility make it a hidden gem that's waiting to be explored.

Ample parking. Entrance was R15 pp. A nice stop over and was really worth it. Apparently you can do wet abseiling. I will need to find out as that could be epic. Just a note that there were no bathrooms.

Was nice to see the falls, but in my opinion, it's not really worth it. There are soooo many holes to slip in and would not recommend bringing a kid. However, I would love to do the absailing that is offered at the falls.
Sean H — Google review
This was a pretty view. the front desk gentleman was friendly and communicated well, however it’s a little rundown. Not the safest place for kiddos as there are steep drops that aren’t fenced off. The place could do with a little bit of tlc. But all in all it was very pretty.

View is breathtaking, road is a bit bumpy getting there. Entry fee is R50 You can dip your feet in the water

There's a couple of waterfalls two witness at this location, main two rivers join to make one stream. The area has beautiful places for taking pictures and seeing marvels of nature. Entry fee per person are very small, about R15, for that you get a parking however there are no ablutions in the area. It is a bit rocky and slippery especially in summer season, it may not be suitable for kids to roam freely and people with disabilities.

Bridal Veil Falls, standing at an elegant 70 meters, is a stunning natural wonder that captivates visitors with its delicate beauty. The waterfall's cascading waters resemble a bride’s veil, creating a picturesque scene that enchants all who visit. Located just 6 kilometers from Sabie town, the journey to reach this gem involves a short yet scenic walk from the car park, where breathtaking views of lush greenery and towering cliffs await you.
Wow what can I say, it not the biggest but certainly one of the most beautiful falls, staff are very friendly and we entered without any fuss, it was a small hike to the falls but well worth it, the road towards the falls isn't great so take your time you will be dodging potholes, and from there you will go on a dirt road but the experience is well worth it

This is absolutely beautiful !!! A must go !!! We drove all the way from Gauteng (323km with our motorcycle 🏍️💨 just to see this and it was worth every mile !! It's absolutely beautiful, breathe taking and also looks like something out of a fairytale, when walking you see and feel nature the atmosphere, the hike is awesome and kids and adults that are adventurous can enjoy it. It's a full experience, there are hidden waterfalls aswell, as there are like little paths you can go down, we found hidden waterfalls 😉 and have the most beautiful photos, aswell as the big waterfall were you can actually go close to and isn't fenced off !! I recommend this place over any other waterfall in Sabie by far ( have a look on my other reviews) Love love love and a must !!!

Beautiful nature soeaks for itself, 15minute hike, also beautiful in itself, needed slight maintenance from overgrowth. Fees were payable, ablutions were is good shape. Road to location was shockingly bad!!!

The entrance fee is R20... it's quite an uphill walk if you are a bit unfit and the path is very slippery at times. Wear comfortable non- slip shoes for this walk. I wore sneakers, and I still slipped and fell on the way down the path. Awesome views on the drive up to the entrance of the falls. This was a gravel road, but way better than most of the tar roads in the area
Aluwieya H — Google review
The breathtaking waterfall, nestled amidst lush greenery and towering cliffs, made the journey more than worthwhile. The surrounding nature added to the charm, making it a perfect spot for nature enthusiasts and photography lovers alike. The short hike to reach the falls was enjoyable and well-marked. However, despite the wonders that awaited us at Bridal Veil Falls, there was one downside that cannot be overlooked - the condition of the road leading to the site. The journey to reach this natural gem was marred by a bumpy and poorly maintained road, which added some discomfort to the trip. Overall it was still a lovely experience.
Yusuf P — Google review
A really beautiful Falls where you can get up close with the fresh spring water. If you carrying a camera I would advise you carry a protective casing to protect your gear. The hike to the Falls is some good cardio too.
DRUNAK — Google review
A short steep walk, but absolutely worth it. The waterfall hasn't seen much rain to form the "veil" yet, but it is still luscious and green and definitely a highlight on the Panorama Route. Entrance is @R15 per adult and they have card facilities. There are bathrooms on site that are in fair condition. Please keep in mind that the gravel road and potholes that lead to the site can be bad.
Wena C — Google review
Areas in the Lowveld received significant amounts of rain during the month of February. The persistent rain has been unprecedented and thus we had to go and see our favourite Sabie waterfall. A trip to the Bridal Veil is never in vain, but oh goodness! this was incredible! In 20 years I've never seen it in this splendor. Be sure to take an umbrella or rain coat, the misty spray is an unavoidable delight. It's regrettable that the road towards the entrance is in such poor condition, but if you take it slow it should be okay. Oh what fun to feel so alive in nature!

Lone Creek Falls, located just a short drive from Sabie, is a stunning 70-meter waterfall surrounded by indigenous forest. It offers easy pedestrian access and nearby parking. Visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of the falls along with amenities such as picnic facilities, a sandy beach, and a swimming pool. The site has been designated as a national monument due to its picturesque aesthetics and the surrounding indigenous vegetation in the kloof below the waterfall.
This is by far one of my favorite waterfalls in the area for the simple fact that you are so close to it. The spray from the impact is so refreshing as it hits your face and it is so relaxing to just stand there and breathe it in. The waterfall is just a short walk away from the car park and offeres a circular walk to the falls, through some trees and back. There is also a photo opportunity that is quite nice but it can get crowded and it always muddy due to the water. There is the option of a picnic onto of the falls but I never did that personally, so I can't accurately say how it is. I recommend going here with younger children too.

The waterfall is absolutely beautiful, but the road to get there, not so much. We nearly turned back but a car coming from the falls stopped and told us it's worth it. Well, my car survived and it was worth it. The falls are stunning. There are ablutions and a picnic area. Make sure you wear appropriate shoes as it's quite slippery. R50 entrance - card machine.

Went with my husband to see the water fall, We were first at Bridal Vail waterfall and the experience there was much better than lone creek, you walk and it's trees and boom you see the water fall and it's fenced off (unlike bridal Vail waterfall) and then you walk over a bridge and that's it . Nothing interesting or like the same as bridal Vail waterfall where you actually feel nature, have quite a hike and also see flowers, plants, hidden water falls were you can go and even the big watefall you can actually get a rock stand at the back of it feel everything and also we spend a lot more time there than here at lone creek. If we were at lone creek 15min in and out it's alot. We spend 4 hours at Bridal Vail waterfall and it was amazing, beautiful, an experience!! And so special, Would recommend lone creek falls for people who want to walk on concrete with their white Nike's and just have a look at a fenced waterfall to say " they were near the waterfall in Sabie" NOT FOR ADVENTUROUS PEOPLE, DOWN TO EARTH and people who actually want to experience the full course of nature and how beautiful it actually is. GO TO BRIDAL VAIL FALLS !!! I have a review on bridal Vail falls, go have a look at that photos and how beautiful it is people and how it actually looks like a fairytale.

Lone creek Falls have forever been a part of my Sabie experience and will continue going forward, Its great to see the are being looked after, managed and cleaned. the additional facilities to braai and have a picnic, but should be managed accordingly as you are in nature and theres no need for cars to be blearing music that you can hear over the waterfall at the waterfall which was slighly dissapointing considering its quite a pricey entry fee to visit the waterfall at R75 per person as a south african resident which the gate keeper wouldnt take no for an answer as the published Prices are R36 at the more expensive end and he stated out ID and or Drivers license was not valid to get the SADC rates
Ruan B — Google review
Mpumalanga does it again with the falls. My only complaint is they have built barricades to restrict people from getting into the water but guys, these places are so gorgeous. Amazing thing about this falls is there is a walk towards the waterfall. The walk is sweet as the vegetation is pretty and soothing. The cherry on the top is the anticipation of the waterfall as it gets louder as u reach closer. Getting there is great, leaving is a problem coz u just won't want to leave. So soothing and amazing. God's creation is just so unchallenged.

Drive into and out of the falls was very bumpy and LOTS of pot holes. R36 entrance fee is reasonable, kids under 6 are free. Falls are beautiful and scenery well kept. Fencing to keep the crowds out of nature and safe from drowning. With the falls being less than 100m from the parking, very easy to visit.

The waterfall creates an almost perfect horseshoe as it cascades down the mountainside, offering a stunning view easily accessible through a campsite.

Beautiful place to visit but I don't think it is worth it unless you visit all 3 waterfalls on that road. The road is shocking so many potholes. The parking fee is R10 - R20 and each waterfall as well and don't leave valuables inside. The is a place next door called trout and about where you can do fly fishing for trout
Curteis R — Google review
The falls are breath taking. The journey to get there is horrendous! Potholes galore, long remote driving, dirt roads... followed by a long hike into the forest. If you aren't into creepy crawlies, don't do this! Security is an issue. No guided hikes, you are on your own.

Are the roads good? No Is the walk to the falls well kept? No Is it worth it? Yes Horseshoe is beautiful, with pools to explore and very tidy facilities where you can buy drinks and ice cream. There are also triangular chalets that can be rented, however, the road leading to horseshoe falls is so ridden with potholes, you'll probably not want to drive anywhere unless absolutely necessary.

Despite some issues like littering and inconsiderate drivers at viewpoints, the pass provides awe-inspiringly beautiful sights and a fun drive on good road surfaces. It's definitely worth the time for anyone in the area, offering beautiful scenery, peaceful surroundings, and fantastic views along the way.
Last time the Long-Tom cannon was used was here at the battle of the longtom pass during the Anglo-Boer war. Beautiful winding road takes you past this bit of history and you can see why it would have been strategically important to hold this high ground. To be able to fire canons deep into the valley would have given anyone controlling the pass a definative advantage. Worth a visit and woth a picture, for free.

Nestled in the heart of Mpumalanga, the Sudwala Caves stand as a testament to nature's artistry and history. Renowned as one of the oldest cave systems globally, these fascinating caverns invite visitors on an unforgettable journey through time. With their origins dating back approximately 240 million years, they are carved into ancient Precambrian dolomite rock.
This is a list of experiences to be cherished. The access road was in excellent condition. The restaurant offered great value, and the food and staff were truly exceptional. The caves were a magnificent sight, and our tour guide demonstrated expertise and genuine enthusiasm. We also enjoyed the zip lines, which were an unforgettable experience. Once again, the staff were outstanding, and the zip-lining provided breathtaking views.

The Sudwala Caves are absolutely beautiful! Inside was cool and magical, and I loved learning about the history and formations. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, which made the experience even better. Definitely a place worth visiting if you enjoy nature and exploring.

Very worth the trip! The cave tour was very interesting and our guide was great. It lasted about 45 minutes. We also did the zip lining which was awesome! The staff were professional, friendly and fun. The facilities were very well kept. For these reasons we found the price of admission very reasonable. I would recommend visiting!
Laura T — Google review
Great activity to do with the family. Very friendly to all ages with an exception to walking through a small passage (difficult for the elderly as you need to crouch). Decently priced and Shadrack was an amazing tour guide. More than welcome to take pics and spend time in the caves even when the guide is done. Awesome gift shop, has zip lining and a beautiful crystal tour that's approx 5hrs long but definitely worth it.

This was a great shared experience with our kids. Our guide, John, was an absolute star, answering any questions the young ones had, adding quirky comments with a clear passion for the tourism industry and his internship! Bonus points for also being a tour photographer :D They have tours every 15 - 20 minutes, so the wait is not long at all.
Nedine F — Google review
The experiance was amazing we paid R140 per person and our tour guide John was fantastic we learned alot about the cave men and also about how the caves developed its really a must to see great south african history
Angeliqe K — Google review
A beautiful spot in South Africa to visit. The cave is interesting, stalactites, stalagmite’s, fossils, high ceilings and deep - 600m. You can go deeper to the crystal chamber to experience the crystal cave which is a 6km round trip by booking in advance. Our guide was entertaining and informative, jokes were a bit cheesy, suited rather to school groups.

Top guides, very informative about the caves. Little bit cold 🥶 inside the caves. Great life experience.

Nestled in the heart of Mpumalanga's diverse wilderness, Wathaba Hiking Trails offer an ideal weekend getaway for families. The trails boast a variety of fascinating creatures and picturesque waterfalls, making it a perfect destination for exploration. The 10km trek features iconic spots like the Cascades Waterfall, where visitors can take a refreshing dip or enjoy a delightful picnic.
The hikes were amazing — scenic, well marked and clean. A pure delight! The 10km trail is a bit challenging but doable, the 4km is fun. Christia was very welcoming. The self-catering accomodation is a bit dated but has everything needed. The tap in the upstairs bath of the Bloubos Retreat spouts orange rusty water and needs urgent attention. Overall, a delightful, peaceful and refreshing visit.

Wathaba hiking trail is nestled within the Skurweberg Mountains 20 km from Machado in Mpumalanga. It is a 10 km trail in a pristine wilderness sanctuary, with several cascading waterfalls. Some technical difficulty but a well marked and maintained route. We were a group of 15 ladies from Secunda accommodated at Wathaba and a group of 9 that joined us only for the hike. Honey Bush is a well equipped camp with solar lights and a donkey geyser and a lovely boma to share the stories of the day around the camp fire. The mountains are always waiting to show us something new...about nature, about life but most important about ourselves. With every step you get the opportunity to let go of the noise of this world and to create space for peace, simple joy of just being. Great to be back in the mountains after 8 months recovering from an injury! #hiking #mountains #kloof #wathabahikingtrail

I did the 10km day hike. I would rate it moderate, the 1st 4 km are a steep climb that may be challenging, however after that, the trail is manageable. The waterfalls along the route make for magnificent views. Id encourage a stop by the cascade waterfall for a swim or snack while enjoying the view and calming sound. Highly recommend
Phindile M — Google review
I didn't like how we were addressed or treated. Even the worker was not treated well infront of us. The trail was hard and challenging especially the first 4km, constant climbing up. The waterfalls are absolute beauty of nature. I would definitely come back for them.
Sizakele T — Google review
Wathaba is one of the most challenging trails I have encountered, and I think the rainy weather played a significant role. Many of my friends were not able to complete the hike and had to turn back. For those looking to get the most out of the experience, I recommend having a hearty breakfast before starting (there's no restaurant there) and bringing plenty of snacks and water. I wouldn't advise solo hikers to attempt this trail as its definitely enjoying with a group.

Our adventure at Wathaba Hiking Trails was nothing short of spectacular! The morning greeted us with a touch of drizzle, but it transformed into a breathtaking 10km trek filled with picturesque waterfalls at every turn. The Cascades Waterfall was especially iconic—I couldn't resist taking a refreshing dip there! We arrived early at 7am and had a delightful picnic by the waterfall with our lovely group. It was heartwarming to see everyone pitching in to keep the trail clean by picking up refuse. While the hike itself was amazing, a little more consolidation on rules would be helpful. The information came in bits and pieces, instead of referencing one document. Don't forget to visit the quaint souvenir shop—they have unique items worth grabbing, but remember to bring cash. The waterfalls are truly the highlight here; you'll never tire of them! The steep inclines were challenging but manageable—even the 10-year-olds in our group conquered them like pros.

Awesome hiking place in a semi-secluded area. Not for the faint hearted but the views are spectacular. Make sure to bring water and sturdy hiking shoes.
Miekie B — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous landscape and scenery…a lush and beautiful campground to explore, get in touch with nature. Meditate and recuperate, it’s so peaceful, all you hear are the sounds of tranquil waterfall and animals. The accommodation is decent for a camping site, clean and fresh. It’s a self catering accommodation, they also allow day visit. You can come hike, have a Braai or picnic and enjoy the scenery. There are two trails the 10km hike which is between moderate and difficult. The 4km hike is easy to moderate. There is a small shop on a he site opened on Saturday between 2-4pm you can buy your hats, cups and tracking sticks. There are animals on the site, monkeys, donkeys and cattle. The entrance route to the camp site provides beautiful views and glimpse of the trails. It’s work the visit, it’s located in entokozweni Mpumalanga and it’s very affordable.

Anvil Ale House & Brewery is a microbrewery located in Dullstroom, offering a variety of beers such as Blond Ale, Pale Ale, White Anvil, and Black Anvil. The brewery follows European techniques and uses water from the Steenkampsberge springs to brew their unpasteurized beers without any unnatural additives. Visitors can enjoy free tastings before indulging in locally sourced food at the pub's restaurant.
What an awesome experience, you can taste the freshly roasted coffee way better than some coffees I've tasted. The food was delicious, definitely a place to visit if you are in Dulstroom. Took beers home, looking forward to trying them.
Geoffrey P — Google review
Love these micro breweries, always great atmosphere and great beer with hearty food options, and Anvil brewery never disappointed! They had great service as well and the tasting was great, it would be great in summer but next to a fire place it was just as great, beer experience was really good and tasting in shot glasses was enough to acquire a taste f the beer and choose which ones you would like to buy to have there or like me, to take a case home 🍻🍻🍻🍺🍻🍻 time 😉

This is the place to go if you like beer. Definitely ask for the free beer tasting! It is not a joke. I had the IPA over and over. Fantastic beer but 6% so be careful. Food comes quickly and is simple and delicious. The desserts are phenomenal and I highly recommend the boozy cake and the brownie.

Very nice time there. The waiter was very friendly We had beer tasting (recommended 100%) and nice lunch. Prices were very reasonable. Unfortunately just on the road. But we will definitely go again

Great place for some beer tasting and food. We loved the vegetarian platter. Also dog friendly and lovely to sit outside. Incredibly friendly wait staff was the icing on the cake.
Laura K — Google review
A decent little pub/brewery, set at the edge of Dullstroom. A well looked after garden makes for a nice sit outside, although I worry if there is enough seating during peak hours. The beer was cold and refreshing, food was perfectly fine, but not great by any means. Pricing is okay too, not cheap but still fair. The only issue is the lady at the bar is miserable and rude (visited 25/09/2023).
Jordan T — Google review
I loved this place! Absolutely gorgeous setting, with the old-style buildings surrounded by lush floral gardens and tall shady trees. Not much on the menu for vegans, but their rye bread was excellent.
Roane S — Google review
Free beer tasting! What more is there to say? Taste them all and get a pint of the one you liked most. They have a Blond, Pale-Ale, White Anvil, Black Anvil Stout, Mjolnïr IPA and a Bookoo summer ale, all brewed in-house. Come here on a summer day and enjoy one of each!

I had the Whisky tasting in 2023 and recently went back for their Tequila and Rum tasting and I enjoyed it. The knowledgeable staff leads you through a curated flight of rums and tequilas, each offering unique flavors from different regions. Whether you're celebrating or just indulging in something new, it’s the perfect spot to explore the world of premium spirits in a laid-back, welcoming environment.

What a wonderful experience, was there a couple of weeks ago and the staff were so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The whiskey was amazing to taste and would highly recommend, this is a wonderful experience for whiskey lovers, they break everything down for one to understand the process of making these fine whiskeys and the difference between all the brands. The staff are trained and you can see they are passionate about what they do- thank you for a beautiful experience we will be coming back!

We had such a fantastic experience at Wild For Whiskey in Dullstroom! Note I gave a 5 star for the drinks, we didn't eat there. My husband did The World Whisk(e)y Tasting while I enjoyed the Origins Gin Tasting, and both were absolutely incredible. The staff were outstanding – friendly, knowledgeable, and explained each tasting in a way that made it fun and educational. We both learnt so much and truly appreciated the passion behind what they do. What made the visit even more special is that they’re pet friendly – we could relax and enjoy the experience with our fur baby by our side, which really made us feel at home. If you’re in Dullstroom, this is definitely a must-visit spot for whiskey and gin lovers alike. Highly recommended! 🥃🍸🐾

If you love, or even just like, whiskey and other interesting spirits, this is an absolute must-visit. Fantastic for beginners and whiskey connoisseurs alike. The service was awesome, explaining the drinks in detail and answering any questions we had with real passion and knowledge. There are soooo many drinks on their tasting menu, you're bound to find your old faves and things you've never seen before. We tasted a few rare and premium whiskeys and mescals too, and it cost us less than R300 in total. I really can't recommend this place highly enough. P.S. My only reason for rating the food 3 stars is that we didn't order food. We only got crackers with the tasting.

They also have snack platters, which goes perfectly with the drinks. 10/10 recommend this experience.

It serves as a sanctuary for injured and orphaned birds of prey, while also raising awareness about the challenges faced by these magnificent raptors. The center's flying display is a highlight, providing an up-close look at these majestic birds in action.
We loved it here! Our daughter is bird obsessed and it did not disappoint! The handler for the show was a volunteer from Germany and honestly I could watch him for days as he is so passionate, caring and funny! The place is well kept and you can see the love for the birds.

We had an incredible time at the Bird of Prey & Rehabilitation Centre! The bird demonstration was both exciting and educational, and we also tried our hand at fly fishing at their dam - each one of the boys caught a fish, which made the experience all the more memorable. There’s a jungle gym to keep the little ones entertained if they get tired of fishing, and the area is perfect for a relaxing picnic too. Highly recommended for a fun family outing!
Elsa N — Google review
Worth the visit, just check on their website for dates when they are open. Amazing how these people take care of the birds that has injuries. The flight show is also spectacular to visit. Would definitely pop in again when I am that site. You can also sponsor birds. They also have a shop where you can buy items to support these birds. They have a small restaurant that you can stop and have something to eat. You can also do fly-fishing or have a picnic at the dam.

I had visited the Bird of Prey Rehabilitation Centre before and knew I had to bring my husband this time. Just as I remembered, the live demonstration was outstanding. The information boards are thoughtfully designed, sharing the unique stories of each bird in a captivating way. We’ll definitely visit again in the future – hopefully with our own kids!

Trout dam, well stocked! Honest, the guy who helped me was very polite and helpful… as were the ladies at the front. Mike - the bird handler who did the demonstration was a great entertainer and the show was amazing. The facility as a whole is very well kept and the birds are appreciated and well looked after! I’ll be back

We spent a very windy midday out trout fishing. The staff are very helpful and the whole fishing experience totally worth it and rewarding. We caught 5 very decently sized trout fish. Definitely coming back to check out the birds next time and do more fishing 😁

I arranged a personalized experience for my wife's birthday, where we had an unforgettable encounter with majestic animals. I highly recommend this experience and look forward to returning. Huge thanks to Richard, Abigail, and the entire Birds of Prey team for making our day extraordinary!

Well worth a visit, especially if you can join one of the flight shows (about an hour long). Self-guided walk through takes about 45 min. About R80 per South African adult. Details are on the website.

One of my best experiences so far. Big spacious bedroom, beautifully furnished. Electric blankets Extremely clean. Their meals are also out of this world 🌎 You'll need an off-road vehicles to navigate the terrains there

The chalet was lovely. Rooms and bathrooms are well equipped. It was perfect that they did provide firelighters and wood. It's quiet and you can't hear your neighbours. The downfall for us was that no one knew which dams had the most trout fish in. Their tracking system of the amount of fish in the dams needs to improve. It's preferable to have some personal fishing tackle, especially when going fishing in the further dams as there is no one to come and help fix the problem(s) if one arises.

The Gooderson Kloppenheim Country Estate Hotel is a true gem in the Drakensberg. Surrounded by breathtaking views, rolling hills and tranquil scenery, it’s the perfect escape from the city. The chalets are spacious, clean and very comfortable, making it easy to relax and unwind. Staff are warm, welcoming and always willing to go the extra mile, while the meals are hearty and delicious. There are great walking trails and plenty of quiet spaces to enjoy nature. The only challenge is the gravel road leading in, especially after rain, but once you arrive the peace and beauty make it absolutely worth it.

What a hidden gem! More people should know about this place. We stayed at the self catering units, which was a very spacious 2-bedroom. The unit was clean and very well maintained. Service at reception, the restaurant, bar and from management was superb. We were so well taken care. Pricing is very fair for what we feel is a premium country estate. We’ll be back for sure and cannot wait to stay again at Gooderson Kloppenheim.
