It was a fantastic experience. The gents were so professional and explained everything so simply. Riding a jetski after the practice round was a breeze. Really memorable

Very peaceful and well maintained. Perfect view of the mini waterfall and dam. There's a lot of space to run around/play. You cannot bring your own food though. But otherwise, thumbs up. Great Experience.

Great fun and prices are fair people are friendly and professional. Located at the bottom of cabanas hotel there is also a child minding service in the same place just a short distance from water world

Great service, slightly pricy but in my opinion, it is well worth it. Had a great time on the jet skis and the guys assisting are very friendly and helpful.

Visiting Sun City Resort with our learners for the Telkom Netball Games was an incredible experience. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the learners were beyond excited to explore such a beautiful and well-organized destination. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by friendly staff who made sure everything ran smoothly. The resort was clean, safe, and very accommodating for both adults and children. There were plenty of restaurants to choose from, offering a wide variety of delicious meals and snacks at reasonable prices. Everyone enjoyed the food, and it was easy to find something for every taste. The resort also provided many fun and relaxing spots where we could unwind after the games. The facilities were well maintained, and the environment was peaceful and refreshing. It was a perfect balance between sport, leisure, and learning. The learners loved every moment, especially being part of such a prestigious event in such a beautiful location. Overall, our trip to Sun City Resort was memorable and worth every moment. It’s a place I would recommend to schools, families, and anyone looking for a clean, safe, and exciting destination full of adventure and relaxation. We can’t wait to visit again in the future!

Sun City Is really a city on its own. Love the fact that ones you get there and park your car you will not need it until the time you checkout. These shuttles to even activities outside the resort. The number of fine dining restaurants need to increase feel like these not a lot of variety there. The staff is friendly and even when these thousands of us, they somehow don’t forget the faces. That is one incredible thing I noticed, very unique indeed. The activities are well managed

Staying in the Junior Suite at Sun City Palace was a truly memorable experience. The staff were warm, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing, with stunning surroundings that made it easy to unwind. Breakfast each morning was delicious, offering a great selection and excellent service to start the day right. However, for the price you pay per night, the room itself could definitely use a bit of an upgrade. While still comfortable, some of the furnishings and finishes feel slightly dated compared to the otherwise luxurious setting. Overall, it was a lovely stay — just a little refresh would make it perfect.

An unforgettable experience at Sun City Resort! Sun City truly lives up to its reputation — it’s the perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and luxury. The resort is beautifully maintained with stunning scenery everywhere you look. From the Valley of Waves to the golf courses, restaurants, and entertainment options, there’s something for everyone. The staff are friendly and always willing to help, and everything feels safe and well-organized. Whether you’re going for a weekend getaway or a family holiday, Sun City never disappoints. Highly recommended! 🌴☀️🏖️

We spent 4 nights at Sun City, again Hotel from 2-6 October to celebrate my 60th birthday. The Main hotel has been beautifully upgraded and some other facilities at the Resort. Check-in was done by a friendly and professional gentleman HOWEVER that's were their clientele stopped. We were met with abrupt, unfriendly staff throughout our stay. The cherry on top was the lady at the breakfast area front desk, she was unfriendly and had no manners speaking to visitors. The manual system te record visitors entering the breakfast area are long and tedious which ended up in long ques. Servers in the breakfast area were unfriendly, gave attitude when asked something, to the extend that we made a decision not to ask or engage staff to avoid frustration. We had so many bad experiences that it was a waste of money and my 60th birthday celebration was for below my expectation. Definitely not value for money if the facility is glamorous but service poor and clientele non-existent. We had to withdraw from our 6am game drive as ranger would not leave until all late comers were picked up, we spend time waiting then eventually driving to the palace to collect people, only to find they're not ready and the rest of the group were forced to wait... I can go on and on ... The main hotel had 1 lift working while the hotel was fully booked,

Really great experience for going out for the day . But if you do wanna explore whole of Sun city, u might aswell wanna book in for more than a day or two there to explore more and have fun everywhere around sun city. But the services ... now and then u get them being enthusiastic but most of the times they not . But else still thanks for the services and help u gave here and there a little .

Wonderful four night stay at The Palace. Every member of staff was incredibly helpful. Sampled lots of different food options and no complaints from me. Pool area is stunning.. The only minor gripe I have is the players card system in the casino- it’s impossible to get the card verified in a slot machine within 10 goes! Please sort this out! Thank you so much Sun City- can’t wait to return!
Jamie G — Google review
Suncity is great for families, they cater alot for children. Lots of fast food places. But for wine and dine we could not find one . Not sure about the Palace. We stayed at the Cabannas. Nice pool and lake. Over time its changed .

Zip 2000

Tours
Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
Experience the ultimate adrenaline rush at Zip 2000, located in Sun City. This renowned zip slide attraction offers a thrilling 2-kilometer-long ride, reaching speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour. Known for its record-breaking feats and hailed as one of the most exhilarating zip slides globally, Zip 2000 continues to captivate adventure enthusiasts.
Incredible experience! As someone who hates roller coasters, that freefall feeling, and heights, I hope I can convince anyone who’s on the fence… just do it. You genuinely feel like you’re flying, not falling. The view from the top is probably the scariest part, and the first couple of seconds after launch are a rush — but once you’re gliding, it’s absolutely breathtaking. The scenery below is unreal. Special shoutout to Tracey, who was amazing from start to finish. She struck the perfect balance between supportive and funny, talking us through the whole process and putting us completely at ease. I had originally paid to just be a spectator while my partner went down, but Tracey’s reassurance and encouragement at the top gave me the confidence to go for it — and I’m so, so, so glad I did. If you’re even slightly considering it: go for it. You’ll never regret it.
Mapps A — Google review
The Sun City Zip 2000 provides a thrilling experience distinguished by three main elements: the broad open landscape around the zip line course, the powerful sense of high-speed fall, and the ride's lengthy duration. These variables combine to provide an exciting and adrenaline-fueled adventure. As riders begin their descent, the wide landscape heightens the sense of freedom and exposure. This absence of confined areas heightens the sensation of speed and height, adding to the total exhilaration. The sheer velocity gained when riding downwards adds another level of intensity to the experience, offering a true buzz for adrenaline junkies. The zip line's length guarantees that this sensation of exhilaration lasts for an extended period of time, rather than being ephemeral. This prolonged ride duration allows people to really immerse themselves in the experience of flying. The personnel at the Zip 2000 were seen to be particularly pleasant and friendly, which is consistent with the prevailing mood across South Africa. This pleasant encounter with the personnel improves the whole experience by bringing a human touch of warmth and friendliness to the excursion.

An absolute fantastic experience. The staff from the lady taking our booking to the last crew member was super friendly and efficient. Made us feel at ease, so much that we wanted to book again. Thank you for a wonderful memorable experience

Our zip-lining experience was absolutely fantastic! The staff at the facility were not only friendly but also incredibly patient, especially with my son, who initially had reservations. They made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire adventure. The breathtaking views combined with the exceptional service made this outing truly memorable. A big thank you to the staff for turning what could have been a nerve-wracking experience into an exhilarating and enjoyable one!
Tumi R — Google review
Epic views. Super long. Super fast. Super safe (as far as I can tell). Great service. Would be back any day. Done a dozen zip lines or more and this is THE BEST!!!
Matt H — Google review
Fun, exiting and thrilling! Beautiful views of the resort. Our instructor was very friendly and reassuring. She was also very funny and made sure that anyone who was feeling afraid felt comfortable. At the end of the ride you also get an extra bonus! You can buy beautiful African wood or stone sculptured surveniers like a lion/elephant/rhino etc for half the price you'd pay at the resort. The seller is also the art worker himself so you know you support locals directly. They also sell some drinks while you wait for others to arrive.
Jakub R — Google review
I was just a spectator for this one but four of the boys in our party gave it a bash. They all turned a whiter shade of pale when we got to the top of the hill where the zipline starts and I really thought they would chicken out but once the transport leaves to take the spectators to the bottom it's the only way down. When they got to the bottom after screaming like babies they all wanted to go again 😂. Each of them said it was the best experience ever. I was a bit shocked at being charged R100 as a spectator but afterwards I realised why. We were transported to the top of the hill to drop the "fliers" then all the way to the bottom which is out of the resort gate and a little way along the main road and then back to the pick up point at the welcome center which means that you take up a space which could be used by someone paying the full price. It was well worth it though.

Valley of Waves is a top-notch water park located within Sun City Resort in South Africa. It features a lazy river, thrilling slides, a wave pool, and a dedicated children's area with attentive lifeguards. Staying at one of the four Sun International hotels inside the complex grants access to this exciting waterpark as well as covers the resort entrance fee. The options for accommodation range from the value-for-money Cabanas Hotel to the luxurious Palace of the Lost City.
Amazing calm place with beautiful music to spend the day with family or friends.Very safe, clean and well managed and taken care of.You get free access when you are booked in one of the hotels inside suncity, there is also loads of activity to do there for kids and adults.Buses run throughout the day transporting guests from hotels to attraction places and activities.Looking forward to my next visit to SA.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Valley of Waves at Sun City and happily give it five stars. The atmosphere is vibrant and relaxing, with a perfect mix of fun, excitement, and a tropical beach feel right in the heart of the resort. The wave pool is absolutely thrilling and makes you feel like you’re by the ocean, while the slides and rides cater for both adrenaline seekers and families. The area is clean, well-maintained, and surrounded by stunning scenery, which makes it a great spot to spend the whole day. Service and facilities were excellent, adding to the overall experience. A must-visit for anyone going to Sun City!

This place is nice and beautifully. You can enjoy the place with kids and family. At Valley of waves you can do a lot of aqua activities such as sliding, tube, lazy river🤗 You can have your snacks. You must go early so you can enjoy until 5pm. I recommend.
Catia S — Google review
From entering Sun City resort we've experienced a warm and kind welcome. Preparing our own food at our unit at the vacation club to going to the valley of the waves, walking through the maze and reach the roof bar with spectacular views and enjoying a lovely sundowner, to playing ten pin bowling and just chilling at the Gary Player Golf club restaurant and enjoying a coffee with blue crane 396 come flipping its wings right in front of us, it was a very memorable time with family and friends here. Most definitely one of my wow moments here. Thank you to all the friendly staff amd to all the bus drivers that took us to and fro and never complaining to drive the same route day in and out. You do deserve an extra star for keeping the good work up.
Devilliers B — Google review
This place is incredible! Beautifully set up with a real tropical holiday vibe — palm trees, sandy beach, and those amazing waves in the Roaring Lagoon! The slides and lazy river keep the kids busy for hours, while adults can relax and enjoy the atmosphere. A fantastic family day out. Highly recommended!

Valley of Waves was breath taking, as a first timer. The Security and Lifeguards all very friendly and polite. My kids had a blast in the water and sun. It’s very clean and the water is very clean as well. My kids enjoyed the super tubes the line wasn’t long when we were there. Thank you, Vally of Waves, for the experience.

The Entrance to the Maze of the Lost City at Sun City is an underrated but well-built challenge that takes at least 20 minutes to complete. Upon reaching the end, visitors are rewarded with complimentary drinks and a fantastic view across Sun City and of the Palace from the upstairs bar. It's a great activity for families, with a quick exit available for those who may feel overwhelmed. The bar at the end offers a wide variety of beers, making it a great reward after completing the maze.
Sun City is a city you cant forget in a heartbeat, its a world within a #city filled with adventure, quests, fun... very intriging!!! There is a lot to see, eat and do from golfing to hiking to safari to gambling to restaurants to opera to theatre to shopping there is something for everyone! I'm super scared of heights but I decided to take a bold step and face my fear, I went on the swing bridge...it wasn't easy but a went all the way. You are surrounded by rocks, rusty serene, flowers, brown earth, trees in a nutshell nature at it's best. The swing is very safe, you won't fall... at the end of the maze you will be rewarded with beer tasting and cool nuts! This is an adventure you wanna embark on, you won't forget it in a heartbeat! I recommend Sun City for your next trip! Life is fun!!! Enjoy every bit of it 😎😎
Funke G — Google review
The maze is a really underrated part of Sun City. It’s built extremely well and poses a real challenge! You should expect to take at least 20 minutes to get through it. However, it’s very rewarding to get to the end and get your complimentary drinks. If you sit upstairs at the bar, there is a fantastic view across Sun City and of the Palace. Definitely recommend!
Christopher F — Google review
This was really a fun activity. We were actually lost in the maze at first, but we found our way after the second attempt 🤣. It was so much fun that we will definitely do it again!
Hashtagmystore E — Google review
Great activity for the entire family. If you get overwhelmed and can't find your way out there is a quick exit. The bar at the end of the maze is a great reward. The bar offers a wide variety of beers, the beer tasting is a good option. Will recommend that this activity be done early morning or later afternoon as there is no shade in the maze itself.
Ivan W — Google review
Had a lot of fun in the maze. It's amazing how you can laugh with strangers in there. Afterwards, we cheated and chose the quick route to finish the maze, too frustrating trying to find the right way. At the end of the maze was beer tasting. Great view of Sun City from there. I can imagine this could be a good venue for special occasions done the seating areas are covered.
Aggie V — Google review
Although the are many benefits to going to Sun City when it's off peak. The maze would have been more fun had there been more people around. The bar was empty but definitely with the right crowd could have been amazing. Beautiful view from above the bar. The beer tasting at the end of the maze was a lovely treat.
Marsh M — Google review
Give it a skip. Nothing interesting to be honest. To begin with there’s a wooden see through bridge that you need to cross to reach the entrance of the maze. Secondly the maze is located on the top of the hill so you need to walk some steep slopes and once you reach the spot... all you want is some good adventure. But it disappoints. The maze is not that confusing put it simply. You have to get yourself lost and that’s how you feel some excitement. At the end there’s a restaurant which again is not the exit. The entrance and exit are at the same place. Not worth it in my view
Prasad ( — Google review
I bit Pricey just to go walk in a maze that only took 3 mins to get through. Then having to pay R50 for a beer at the end.

Lost City Golf Course

Golf course
Outdoor Activities
The Lost City Golf Course in South Africa is known for its brilliant views and challenging round of golf. The fairways and greens are pristine, but the bunkers can be quite challenging. It's essential to book in advance due to its popularity. The course features different types of hazards that make for a unique and enjoyable experience, with some players even encountering crocodiles on the course.
I recently had the opportunity to play at the Lost City Golf Course in Sun City, and I was blown away by the experience! As a beginner, I was a bit nervous, but the course was more forgiving than I expected. The scenery is breathtaking, with stunning views of the African bushveld. The course is well-marked, making it easy to navigate, even for a newcomer like me. The staff were friendly and helpful. I was accompanied by people offering valuable tips and advice to help me improve my game. The facilities, including the clubhouse and pro shop, were top-notch. Sun City is a gem. There's plenty of activities to do around like the Valley of the waves, which is a family activity. So after playing golf the family can do other activities. The course offers plenty of opportunities for beginners to learn and improve. Overall, I'd give the Lost City Golf Course 5 out of 5 stars. It's a fantastic destination for golfers of all levels, including beginners. The scenic views, friendly staff, and forgiving course make it an ideal spot to learn and enjoy the game.
Leonard M — Google review
A very challenging but absolutely stunning and beautiful course. Highly recommended to get out and enjoy a world class golf course where the wildlife are at home to roam around. The views are spectacular and each hole is carefully carved out of the beautiful landscape. I recommend taking some extra balls and a caddie who can assist in finding some those stray tee shots.
Rodger B — Google review
The golf course offers a truly stunning experience, with its fairways being one of the standout features. Lush, well-maintained grass stretches out smoothly, providing an inviting path for players. The vibrant greenery and carefully manicured landscape create a picturesque setting that enhances the overall enjoyment of the game. Each hole presents a unique challenge, while the beauty of the fairways adds to the serenity of the surroundings. Whether you're a seasoned golfer or a beginner, the breathtaking views make every swing feel special. Overall, it's a fantastic course that promises a memorable day on the green!
Lynn P — Google review
Very very very beautiful course with a distinct lost city theme. The holes were challenging and if we didn’t have the caddies, we wouldn’t have known how to play them. Also, be on the lookout for some crocodiles on hole 13 as it’s a sight to see!
Cheezo — Google review
Very nice course... Areas of improvement in my humble opinion is the staff is a little bit rude. The pro shop has very limited memorabilia. The food is average. Location, scenery and course conditions deserves a 5 star but your employees is leyting you down
Christo R — Google review
Great golf course . One definitely need to play Gary Player and Lost City if you visit Sun City.
Eddie B — Google review
Championship golf course, my daughter played in the Nomads SA Girls Rosebowl Champs 2024. Lots of tricky holes, bunkers and water features which make the course very beautiful indeed. I walked the full 18 holes with her and experienced some awesome views of the mountains and surrounding nature. Pro shop can at least employ another person to work there instead of just 1. Staff overall very helpful and friendly
Ashley B — Google review
Me and my friend took a walk to the golf course clubhouse for coffee. I don’t play golf but the layout of the course looked structured. Given that it’s winter the club has done a good job maintaining quality of the greens, which looked good. I really enjoyed my coffee and the blueberry sauce was just amazing.

The map they gave us was very confusing nd we got lost looking for the picnic area..The picnic area was nice and clean though..We saw almost all the animals

ANYONE who gave this a good review is lying. I gave them 1 star because I can't go lower, it's a terrible TERRIBLE TERRIBLE PLACE. The ROADS are not maintained so it's very difficult to drive around and reach the picnic area. The PICNIC area is disgusting, there's hardly any grass, it's dusty, you can't set up a picnic on the ground because it's dusty. The PICNIC area smells horrible The TOILETS at the Picnic area are dirty, and unusable for ladies GOING there was the WORST thing ever to experience THE place is horribly maintained and is farrr WORSE than it was 2 years ago.

Mahikeng Museum.

Museum
History Museums

Specialty Museums
The locals often complain about this museum. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the experience. The guide (an intern) was enthusiastic and competent. She explained the biased nature of many of the displays. There is a fairly new exhibition (installed in 2020) which gives a nifty and quick chronological overview of Mahikeng's past. It's not a deep academic study, but it is enough to give the public an overview. The older exhibitions focus on the Siege, and could do with a little tlc. Nonetheless, it is a space worth visiting. The inside of the building is gorgeous, especially the ceiling.
Robert U — Google review
I embarked on a trip to the museum yesterday to see displays related to my grandfather's great uncle who played a very prominent part in the town around the time of the Anglo Boer war. After a 3 1/2 journey only to be very disappointed as Google says the museum is open but to my great disappointment it has been closed for renovations since around September last year
Sharon W — Google review
The Mahikeng Museum sits on Martin Street, housed in a building that started as the town hall back in 1902—red brick, colonial vibes, and declared a heritage site in 1986. I love how it’s a time capsule of Mahikeng’s wild past, especially the famous Siege of Mafeking during the Second Boer War (1899–1900). That 217-day standoff put Mahikeng on the map, and the museum dedicates a whole room to it. You’ll find relics like old rifles, uniforms, and photos, plus stories about Colonel Robert Baden-Powell’s clever tricks—like faking minefields to fool the Boers. There’s even a retired steam locomotive outside, a siege survivor that kids (and train buffs) seem to adore.

Excellent information on the formation of Mahikeng and the siege of Mahikeng. Needs more information on the families and culture of the Barolong.

Drove here from Gauteng to see the Museum. It was closed due to extensive excavations in the grounds and with no online warning to that effect.

It really does perfectly tell the history of Mafikeng from its early days to todays morden times I'd advise checking it out when you can.

A small interesting museum in Mahikeng. Historical display of both the siege of Mafikeng and apartheid struggle heroes. Display of weapons and stones of the area

When exploring the Northern Cape, a visit to the Moffat Mission is an absolute must. Founded in 1816 by the London Missionary Society and named after dedicated Scottish missionaries Robert and Mary Moffat, this historic site offers a glimpse into its rich past. Despite some mixed online reviews, my early morning arrival at 7:40 was met with a friendly welcome even before opening hours. The mission complex itself is beautifully maintained, showcasing stunning grounds and buildings steeped in history.
This must be on your list of places to visit when in the Northern Cape. Despite several online negative reviews I read I was determined to see the Mission complex for myself. My 0740 arrival was marked by a warm welcome despite being before the official opening time. The whole mission complex is in excellent shape. Beautiful grounds and buildings with so much history all around. I would strongly recommend a visit if my experience in early October before any possible summer rains is just a taste of what can be expected when the benefit of rain is felt. My host Trudy was extremely knowledgeable and is a great credit to the mission complex. Visit soon and be prepared to spend a few hours here to really experience the special atmosphere of such a wonderful venue.

So I went to visit the Moffat Mission here in Kuruman. I’ve always seen it, but never came to look at it, because of always having to rush for work. They have the original and first printing press that printed the first Bible into Setswana. Robert Moffatt lived here for 50 years learned Setswana and translated the first Setswana Bible by 1857 and then he returned to England, where he eventually died, he was a missionary. He knew David Livingston. On one of his missions David Livingston got attacked by a lion, he was sent to Kuruman to be treated by Robert Moffatt’s daughter, David Livingston ended up proposing to her in Kuruman and marrying her. I took the quick tour, because I had to still go work. But interesting bit of history. They also have the original Setswana Bible here that is almost 200 years old. Sad part is certain things are vandalized, like the bronze of Robert Moffat, hopefully not more.

The property is well kept and so much history there. Our only regret was that we were not able to go into the buildings as they were locked.

Eye of Kuruman

Nestled in the heart of the region, the Eye of Kuruman is a captivating destination that offers more than just stunning views. This unique spot is renowned for its winemaker's adventurous spirit, who explores various grape varieties while still honoring the traditional hanepoot wines that have made this area famous. It's an ideal retreat for those looking to unwind and refresh their minds amidst beautiful surroundings.
The municipality is getting a grip of the place. They built a strong fence around it and access is strictly controlled. Entrance fee R40 per person. It is beautiful, lots of greenery and wonderful fish. Once they also get rid of the rubbish that has accumulated on the past it will become 5 stars again. Entrance is from Fontein Street only. If the big entrance gate is closed, just go to the exit gate and enter on foot from there. Definitely worth seeing! Opening times: Mon-Fri 7:30-16.00 Sat 8.00-15.00 Sun closed

Nice place to visit. Gate personnel were not very friendly. We came from very far and wanted to go in. But they refuse because it was still 15min before they open. And all there is, is a open parking and the hole of water that you could see from the road. We still had a long way to go so we left.

Coming from the Cape, it was utterly disapointing to find no access to The Eye due to locals not having any respect for nature (throwing rubbish in the water).

Natural wonder! A pity it is not maintained properly! The place is dirty! A lot of litter around.

Has lots of potential to look more beautiful if it's cleaned up and well maintained.

"Eye of Kuruman" Drove Past but it did not look good. I was last at this site 17yrs ago and it was in a much better condition 😔

Very disappointed with this site. Fencing is broken, beer bottles floating.. It's supposed to be a world heritage site and instead it was a disgrace. I can not imagine recommending this site to any tourist, especially not our overseas family.

If I could rate it 0 stars I would. There are plastic all over in the water. Trees cut down and lay down in the water. Its not maintained. The fence is pushed down that comes to the conclusion that they steal the fresh water and fish at night. So so sorry.
