Andasibe-Mantadia National Park is a stunning rainforest teeming with diverse flora and fauna, including many species of lemurs. The park offers hiking trails through scenic landscapes and is home to rare birds and various types of lemurs, such as the Indri, brown lemur, black and white lemur, and golden lemur. Visitors can also enjoy night walks to spot the Goodman Mouse Lemur, the smallest species of lemur.
Very nice experience, a lot of lemurs, professional guides, highly recommended!

Beautiful rain forest national park. Lots of lemurs and chameleons. Unfortunately you have to go to Madagascar to see it. The country is so destitute it’s a difficult journey.
Lee K — Google review
Amazing - go see!!! So many lemurs
Shahar B — Google review
Good park to see different species of lemurs living in their natural habitat. Needed experienced sharp eyes and a high level of alertness to spot the lemurs as they were well camouflaged and were cautious enough to be stealthy to minimize detection.
CK C — Google review
Amazing national park and the first location where we spotted Lemurs. From the common brown lemur, to the biggest lemur known as an Indri. We even did a night walk here and spotted the Goodman Mouse Lemur which is the smallest species of lemur. Our guide was knowledgeable and eagle eyed. I truly enjoyed this national park full of endemic wildlife.
Travis D — Google review
The entrance fee was 50k + 80k for a guide To go here is quite far from Tana, but you can see less species than in Lemur Park. Only 4 of 10 lemurs from here are day-active (but they also have night-tours) On other hand, here you can spot Indri and golden sifacas
Mikhail N — Google review
We visited the park in May 2022. In the morning we lent a 4wd to go to the Mantadia primary forest (which requires a 1 hour drive from the Andasibe village according to which pathway you want to take). Our guide found us the 4x4 for 160 000 AR, it is expensive but a commonly charged price for 4 wheelers. We did the Tsakoka itinerary. It is supposed to be the longest. It is where you can spot rare birds and different kinds of lemurs, at least that was before covid. According to our guide, this part is so remote from the road and was so poorly monitored during the pandemic that the locals hunted the lemurs. He said we should have spotted several groups of sedentary lemurs in given places but we barely saw some high up in the canopy, which real high because it's a primary forest. The lush green vegetation is impressive. We went there too late to observe birds and missed the few ones our guide pointed at. The jungle cry I read so much about in the comments is real and it's magical. Watch out for leeches (had one one me) and mosquitoes (heard one I can tell). There are other routes in that part of the park (leading to waterfalls or a natural swimming pool). Mantadia is the primary rainy forest, while Andasibe is a secondary one. The trees are skinny, the vegetation way less diversified and the pathway mainly flat and paved. This is where we headed to on the afternoon, as we didn't spot much fauna in the Mantadia primary forest. It is the same entrance fee but you pay your guide for each route you enter. There we were able to hang out with a group of Sifaka ( about 12 of them). Always keep an eye on the upper branches as they do not bother where their droppings may land. You might have to dodge some bullets. They were much more accostumed to human presence. They were eating leaves and inspecting us from a short distance without embarrassment. We also spotted another group of brown lemurs and that was all. What I can recommend and what we couldn't do is to buy your entrance tickets the night before (before 4pm), so that you can enter the park early in the morning (from 5am). The office only opens at 8am, Malagasy time. You loose valuable hours as birds and lemurs are more active early in the day. Entrance was about 45 000 Ar and our guide 110 000 AR (70000+40000).

Vakona Forest Lodge

Hotel
Nature & Parks
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Nestled in the heart of a lush forest, Vakona Forest Lodge offers a serene retreat with its polished accommodations and picturesque surroundings. The lodge boasts an outdoor pool and a restaurant that provides stunning views of the nearby lake. Despite being located in a remote area, the friendly and English-speaking staff ensure a pleasant stay for guests. The spacious and comfortable rooms immerse visitors in the soothing sounds of the forest, creating an unforgettable experience.
Relax and calm hotel, surrounded by nature. Rooms are OK, not too fancy. The best is the food, delicious, and the service ! Would recommend to explore Mantadia National Park.
Maryn D — Google review
A beautiful and natural stay in the middle of the rain forest! You are constantly surrounded by typical jungle sounds and this is truly an experience! The lodge is well located and has the perfect size, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Best thing though is the “Dining and chill area” in the big lobby! Its also the only WiFi-Area in the lodge, but that doesn’t matter as there are plenty of other things to see than the Internet! There is also a nearby Crocodile and Lemur Park, which I would definitely recommend, especially for kids. I would also suggest talking a nice walk through one of the many hikes in the forest (be aware to bring an umbrella as it can start raining any time ;)). A great idea to top your Madagascar Trip! Only negative point is the price which was, relatively to other malagasy hotels pretty high, yet in comparison to other lodges exceptionally low! We paid 500,000.00 Ariary for one night/two adults which is like 100 euros!
Daniel D — Google review
Fabulous place to stay in the middle of nature. The bungalows are nestled into the grounds among the trees. The room was clean and comfortable. Good hot shower. WiFi at the restaurant. The food was very good. We wished we could stayed longer so we could have walked around more. The lemur Island is a nice place to see them up close and they seem to be doing an excellent job of taking care of them, releasing them as and when they are ready to go back to a protected area. We would definitely go back here.
Carol — Google review
Excellent place in the rain forest. Very good restaurant and super friendly staff. We stayed in Bungalow 14. And was perfect with hot water shower. Entrance with Andasibe was 20 minutes. Beautiful garden and Vakona island to see the lemurs.
Globe T — Google review
The team is friendly and warm-hearted. Also the food is really tasty and of good quality. The hotel’s park is lovely. Whereas the main building/restaurant is in good shape, the bungalows and pool have definitely seen better days. For the premium price you pay, I would expect a cleaner and more modern room. Value for money is at risk.
Christian K — Google review
Typical of many of the resorts we stayed in during our journey through Madagascar, 'Vakona Forest Lodge' was run down after the covid years, with much of the accommodation requiring a makeover. The rooms were musty, but a good size and comfortable. The meals provided during our three day stay were between poor and OK and not very tasty. Not a lot of choice, and too much bread. The staff were not particularly friendly and only spoke French. Roads to and from Vakona Forest Lodge were not very good and the swimming pool was unusable; it looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for years. The gardens were nice and had some beautiful flowers. The central dining area was the cleanest and best kept part of the resort and it was nice to eat there whilst looking out over a lake flowers and the forest. 'Lemur Island' had a few visible lemurs and a guide, but was ruined by rain for our visit. It could happen anywhere in a rain forest, but certainly be careful here - I ended up one trip to find I had leeches on my neck and ankles. Nothing worse, but not nice.
Chiangmaicharlies — Google review
This lodge is located in an introduced eucalyptus forest quite far from the national park. We saw lemurs on the island (which feels like a zoo) and we did see some mouse lemurs on the night walk (extra coat) but no other animals such as chameleons. The rooms were comfortable enough (beds were hard) but nothing else was provided for the exorbitant price. Water was not even provided and you had to pay for it. The supplied breakfast was meagre (bread jam, juice & coffee) and had to pay extra for eggs. Dinner portions were not generous.
Elisabeth C — Google review
This review is for the reserve, not the lodge itself. The reserve is more of a European lemur park experience. Habituated lemurs allegedly being rehabilitated for the wild, but I'm not convinced. They are very tame, on an island so they can't escape. You have to take a canoe about 10m to reach them. Good photo opportunities. Also a crocodile lake with a lot of Nile crocodiles, not sure why they have these if not for tourist entertainment. Knowledgeable guide who showed us a giraffe bug, which was for me the highlight

Parc Mitsinjo

Park
Nature & Parks
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Parc Mitsinjo is a fantastic local initiative that offers an affordable alternative to the more commercial national parks, allowing visitors to experience the same incredible wildlife. A night tour here reveals elusive chameleons and tiny microcebus lemurs, which are hard to spot during daylight hours. During the day, you can embark on an adventure circuit lasting about five hours where you'll encounter indri, sifaka, and brown lemurs along with a sacred tree.
Definitely recommend to do the night walk in Mitsinjo! It’s very interesting. You could see different Chameleons and mouse lemurs. Guide is very friendly and professional and he makes you see everything clearly. Price is also very reasonable.
Jing R — Google review
Very nice park involved in lots of conservation projects, go support them! I highly recommend the night walk there, the paths are narrow so you'll get to see things up close, especially the mouse lemurs.
John — Google review
The most promising example of conservation in Madagascar. Parc Mitsinjo is managed by the guides association, who are wonderful people and all highly invested in protecting and expanding the rainforest. They are able to balance ecotourism (see indri, bamboo lemurs, parsons chameleon, frogs and more) with biodiversity conservation and reforestation. Special note for birders and lemur lovers: ask for Evariste as your guide and you’ll find some of the hardest birds and lemurs to see such as the nuthatch vanga and wooly lemur!
A U — Google review
(Translated by Google) We did the night tour with Divina. It’s really great as a complement to a daytime visit. We mainly see chameleons (difficult to see during the day) and small microcebus lemurs. A big thank you to Mialy at reception who also arranged bush taxis for us the next day :) (Original) Nous avons fait la visite nocturne avec Divina. C’est vraiment super en complément d’une visite de jour. On y voit surtout les caméléon (difficile à voir le jour) et les petits lémuriens microcebus. (Translated by Google) I visited on July 2, 2024 with my friend's car. Courses and times vary depending on the course. This time I chose MOYEN CIRCUIT which is 2-3 hours long and the entrance fee was about 55,000 yen and 2,000 yen. The guide fee is included, but please prepare a tip for the guide separately. When I asked my friends how they decide the amount to tip, they said they decide based on things like politeness, kindness, and attitude. The tip was around 20,000 ariary and 700 yen since it was an acquaintance of a friend. I had asked my friend to guide me the day before, so he was my guide. My purpose was to listen to the voices of Indri calling to each other, so I went there around 8:30 in the morning. This place is not managed by the national park, but is run locally, so the entrance fee seems to be a little cheaper than the national park. I would like people to visit this place because it will bring money to the area. Guides seem to come and go.

(Translated by Google) The park offers the possibility of spotting the same types of fauna as the Andasibe national park (opposite), at a reduced price (40,000 Ary including guide for a 3-hour route) and with the possibility of taking the routes even outside the official opening hours. The guides also have a predilection for community parks, so they will be very happy if you choose to visit these parks rather than the national ones. We made the 3-hour trek early in the morning and heard the Indri singing as soon as we woke up, right above us. Besides the indri, we saw several chameleons, leaf-tailed geckos, frogs and giraffe bug.

The Madagascar Photography Museum in Antananarivo is a must-visit for photography enthusiasts and history lovers. It showcases a remarkable collection of photographs depicting the rich history of Madagascar, from pre-colonial times to independence, as well as daily life scenes and city landmarks. The museum also offers six short documentaries about the country's cultural heritage, presented in three languages. Visitors can explore various themed photo exhibits and enjoy a temporary photo exposition in the garden focused on environmental conservation.
One of the best Museums in Madagaskar.... interesting, creative, Inspiration, wonderful Green garden , great Atmosphäre. A must for echt visitors! And a must for each madagassy!!!! Go!!

It talks about water purity and transparency, the essential qualities of perfect water, and It is dedicated to preserving Madagascar's photographic heritage and aims to encourage Malagasy people to embrace their history. The museum features exhibitions of vintage photographs as well as themed video screenings The gardens of the Museum of Photography offer spectacular views of the city of Antananarivo. There was a guide, she was very helpful and very explicit. Hats off

Lonely planet defines it as the best Museum in town. Probably exaggerated, but a wonderful spot with great views and old architecture, plus some content to understand the history of this country. But is just a small villa, with two rooms for exhibition and three for projections
Giulio T — Google review
Small but interesting museum with many videos explaining both the history of Malagasy photography and the temporary exhibition. On the top floor, the exhibition in well designed. I would have liked to have also a permanent space with old photos of Antananarivo and other main cities. Great view of Antananarivo from the top floor.

They have six short documentaries about Madagascar and its cultural heritage, made up of historic photographs in 3 languages. In addition, there's also a number of photographs on display on the walls with explanations. A small souvenir shop (beautiful postcards!), a temporary photo exposition in the garden (environment conservation) and a lovely garden restaurant. Great views from the hilltop. Overall worth a visit.

The Queen's Palace is a historic landmark that was used as the residence of Imerina and Madagascar rulers during the 17th to 19th centuries. It provides breathtaking views of Tana, especially during sunset. Visitors can take a guided one-hour tour of various palaces in the complex, including the church and memorials. The palace's ship-like construction style is an interesting sight to behold.
20,000 Ariary for the entrance and a must visit if you come to Antananarivo to understand the History of the Queen and the Colonization of Madagascar by the French, very impressive and must visit
Abdullah B — Google review
Worth the visit. The building it self tells a story. The exhibits are few and simple. The information in films and digital exhibits tells very simplistic and selective history of Madagascar all the way to its Independence, but is a good introduction for those no familiar with the the last three centuries of Monarchy, Colonial Times, and the struggle for independence of this fascinating Island. The site offers one of the best views of Antananarivo.
Vicente S — Google review
Beautiful palace and place to learn about Malagasy history. However it is a pity that they burned it some years ago so most of the place is renovated. Small museum inside about kings, queens, Madagascar and some nice items. Amazing view from top of Antananarivo as it is at the highest point of the city.
Miguel S — Google review
Very nice place to visit, certainly to recommend! Everything described in malgasy, french and English. A guide is good to give you some more background to the things, but not really necessary.
Roland G — Google review
Good museum to visit. But it should allow visitors to take photos without flash.
Yu S — Google review
Great place to learn about Madagascar's history. Entrance fee 20000 pp, obligatory guide (I guess you might manage to get in without a guide), who charged us 50000. Fully functional museum with great view.
Christian G — Google review
Quite a nice view. And a 20000 entry fee for a short visit is fair enough. A short visit is plenty of time to walk around the recreation of the historic buildings. There are some interesting historic artifacts inside some but there's not much left of original architecture after the fire in 1995. You may find a tour guide helpful if you want a longer tour. Beware. No photos allowed inside buildings- dunno why they don't want people sharing the interesting stuff but whatever.
Remer J — Google review
It was exceptional. I went in 2019 before the renovations, and it was alright. Now, since the renovations, it is SO much better. It's like a museum inside, and the guide was a huge help. Very knowledgeable, and the history of Madagascar really comes together. I recommend going with the two hour tour, because there's so much to see. It's too bad they don't let you take pictures inside, because there is some really beautiful stuff. Although, if we were allowed to take pictures, it would have taken 4 hours.lol

The bustling Analakely Market in Antananarivo is a must-visit for both locals and tourists. This vibrant market offers a wide range of everyday essentials such as meats, vegetables, fish, fruits, and spices. Visitors can also explore the market's colorful stalls to find an array of curios, souvenirs, textiles, and trinkets at affordable prices.
Amazing, authentic African market. The sights, sounds, and scents are a feast for the senses. I had a local guide with me who helped to engage with the vendors and offer insights and history of the culture. Everything and anything is sold here...fruits, vegetables, meats, grains, clothes, toys, housewares, souvenirs, etc... No trip to Mada is complete without exploring this market. Pickpockets are part of the adventure - keep your head on a swivel, have someone watch your back, don't bring visible valuables. Check out Erik The Adventure Nerd on YouTube.

Fun African and authentic experience. The market stretch for many blocks and in many different directions. Most vendors do not act aggressively or harass passerby but appreciate and warmly welcome you when you shop or view their shop. Keep your hands on your pockets to be careful that nothing gets taken from you. Market gets extremely crowded.

Tsimbazaza Zoo and Botanical Gardens, established in 1990, is a combined zoo and garden that features a museum showcasing tribal carvings and skeletons. It is an enjoyable destination for those who wish to view animals and the diverse flora of Madagascar without leaving Tana. The zoo houses over 14 lemur species within its premises, which are enclosed. Visitors may choose to roam independently or hire a guide like Bruno, who is knowledgeable about the zoo's offerings.
Great place to know Madagascar in Miniature. They have many local Animal. Although unfortunately I wonder why They don't have FUZA. It's so many in Madagascar but they can't capture a couple for Tourists see from close range. The Zoo Keeper can make the Eagle and the Lemur making noise . Even greeting us. Very funny.

This is a combination of a zoo and a botanical garden. I wouldn't say it's the best place I've ever visited, but if you're already in Antananarivo and want to see some interesting animal and plant species, it's worth a visit. The entrance fee is affordable, but it's important to note that the animals are kept in very small and enclosed spaces. However, if you're looking to take a walk and enjoy beautiful plant species and a scenic lake, you might find this place quite enjoyable.
Ivan L — Google review
All zoo's are meant to be education centres for wildlife viewers and Tsimbazaza zoo although poorly maintained does give visitors a close up view of Lemurs and a few other birds and reptiles. Before visiting a National park a visit to this zoo is beneficial. The zoo has a excellent " Natural History Museum " next to it that has original fossils and skeletons of extinct Madagascar species.
Rudolph F — Google review
Very dilapidated place, with some very unhappy animals. The level of care is way too low. Also the rubbish and plastic waste is obscene! It's apparent that the team have no incentive or will to care for the animals or the gardens.
Tim M — Google review
Unfortunately, quite poor garden, suffering animals in unsufficient conditions, mess and rubbish all over the garden, damaged plants and trees (marked and scratched by visitors), many empty spaces, dead animals (I saw 1 bird and 1 chameleon). Well, don't expect standards like in developed countries. Artificially created biotopes have a nice idea, but the reality will bring disappointment..
Martin N — Google review
The best about it the guide, check out Bruno he's fun, informative and passionate. The zoo is small but had over 14 types of lemurs. This is a caged zoo, but a good place to start learning about what to expect.

It's a fun place if you don't want to get out to one of the national parks or reserves and just see some animals and the variety of plants Madagascar has right here in Tana! Locals basically go in for free, we opted not to have a guide and just roamed around on our own. We had a fun time on their manual ferris-wheel... it was a person jumping on it and pulling it down by force, so fun!

Ambohitsorohitra Palace stands as a striking symbol of Madagascar's political history, showcasing impressive architecture that captures the eye. Although it is one of the city's well-preserved landmarks, access to this heavily guarded site is restricted, and photography is prohibited. Interestingly, the palace no longer serves as the official residence for Madagascar's president; its significance has shifted since a military coup in 2009 led to increased tensions surrounding this historic building.

The Pirates Museum is a private museum that showcases the history of piracy in the region through original and replica artifacts. Visitors can also explore other attractions such as Queens palace and UNESCO World Heritage Site at Ambohimanga. It's advised to plan for traffic before transferring to the airport if staying in the city. The Relais des Plateaux offers comfortable accommodation with an excellent spa facility, perfect for couples massage.
The reviews for this place had us worried, but overall we enjoyed it and think it was well worth the visit. The posters are all in French but a nice lady came around with us and provided verbal interpretation and additional stories and explanation. Small but interesting. Would go again

It was a poster display of the history of pirates generally and in Madagascar. It's all in French but some nice photos. There are some models that were sweet. A very modest 3 rooms in a side street of Tana.

I am not satisfied with the museum. It is a pirates pictures museum. I saw just very few items that can belong to previous eras. Even the other available items are newly made.

I loved my visit to this place. Very educating history about pirates. I liked the effort to translate the documents to English but there is some inconsistency and wrong captioning in the some of the translated texts. I will give 5 stars if the documents are corrected.
Nahashon M — Google review
An original museum, deserving some praise.

It's a tourist trap. It has some interesting panels on Malagasy pirates, but don't come here expecting to get a very good understanding of piracy in the Indian ocean or to see artifacts. You will find neither. But, for 10,000AR (3USD), I guess I can't complain.

Lemur Park is a tranquil botanical garden that features a lemur habitat and offers guided tours, a restaurant, and a gift shop. Many of its lemurs were once pets and are accustomed to humans but still maintain their distance. The park provides ample opportunities for visitors to capture remarkable photographs of these curious animals while they freely move about the grounds. It is recommended that visitors arrive early in the morning when the park opens at 9 am for an optimal experience.
Amazing park with very good guide. You can see a lot of different species of lemurs, Baobab tree, trutles, bamboo, national tree of Madagascar, also their restaurant is so good especially the coffee with the condensed milk and the caramelized banana and also the gift shop have a lot to offer for reasonable prices

One of my favourite animal experiences ever! Jonathan was very insightful and a knowledgeable guide. We saw so many different types of lemurs and the biodiversity is incredible. Would definitely recommend! It was cash only when we were there so be prepared to not have any phone service or ability to pay with card.

Great place to see lemurs semi wild. They are not in cages and you are guaranteed to see 6 or 7 different species. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Well worth the visit if you have a few hours to kill in Tana. Please note the park does not accept cards.

Our guide was very knowledgeable, not just about Lemurs, and everyone was outstandingly friendly. Very big portions of tasty food too and a nice gift shop.

Paradise and Hell + Beautiful, well-maintained park with 8 different species of lemurs. Competent and friendly staff, and the guides speak English. There is a café and a souvenir shop. - The road is HELL! From Novotel (29 km away) it took us 2.5 hours one way, a total of 5 hours on the road because of traffic jams.

I think if you come to Madagascar / Antanarivo you really should consider coming to this privately owned park where the mission is to look after lemurs (often relinquished from private owners). The lemurs here are quite habituated to people and can be viewed up close without a cage. In the wild they can be considerably more elusive. The guides are knowledgeable and conduct tours at your pace. It's a bit out of town, but spend the time, take on the fresh air and make a day trip. There is a deck with a restaurant and drinks

(Translated by Google) Came here via a recommendation from a friend. The back terrace on the 2nd floor with the Buddha is nice. You have sofas to sit on + central bar + a pool table. Downstairs, it acts like a karaoke bar, barely a table of 6 people. We were there around 11:30 p.m. on a Saturday evening, few people and a very quiet atmosphere. I'm sure there's something better elsewhere than here and something more happening in Antsirabe. 3/5 visited in December 2024 (Original) Venu ici via une recommandation d'un ami. We had a blast! From the first till the last minute. We did a combination of the west trip with the south trip. It was the most beautiful country we’ve seen. Both nature and culture. Our guide Faly was a pleasure to spend time with. We can not imagine better. He did everything to make sure we had a great time in Madagascar. And so did our driver. The jeep was well equipped and the driver was great. Everything was perfectly organised from the first until the last minute. We would love to go back sometime to discover the north and east side.

We recently completed a trip to Madagascar lasting over 3 weeks with Madagascar Tropic Voyage and had an amazing experience. I enquired about car rentals/tours with a number of companies but it was clear very quickly that I wanted to go with Lanto and his company. From the start Lanto was extremely responsive answering questions and providing ideas and recommendations. Lanto took a great deal of time to understand what we wanted out of the trip and customize an itinerary based off our wishes and budget. He was happy to adjust any detail of the trip to suit our needs while providing the local expertise to ensure that the itinerary was optimized. While we initially planned to only hire a car+driver as we normally are very independent travelers, I am happy we opted for a package fully organized by Lanto. Having everything organized took a lot of stress out of the trip while still giving us lots of flexibility to plan the trip how we liked. From the minute we landed in Antananarivo we felt like everything had been perfectly organized for us to make the most possible out of our trip. We visited a number of different areas of the country including several national parks with one domestic flight included. Despite a busy schedule and covering a lot of distance there no significant issues that arose during our trip thanks to Lantos organization and attentiveness. For the first half of the trip we were with our guide/driver Rija, who was excellent. He spoke excellent English, was very knowledgeable, and was a fantastic and safe driver. Driving in Madagascar is no easy feat and includes some extremely long days of driving, but we were reassured that he always drove attentively and appropriately for the conditions. Rija quickly got to know our preferences and tastes, particularly helping us try as many local foods as possible. Rija was a fantastic guide and driver, and we really enjoyed our time with him! The second half of our trip we were accompanied by Lanto who acted as our guide in the North of the country. It was clear that Lanto not only has a lot of knowledge about the country but is passionate about showcasing and sharing everything Madagascar has to offer. Every aspect of the tour was well organized and thought out while remaining extremely flexible to our preferences. In Madagascar where "slowly slowly" is the mantra and organization can occasionally be lacking, we always felt Lanto had taken great care to ensure everything was in place and organized to maximize our time, while also not making us feel rushed at any time. Even during an unexpected period of bad weather, when a severe cyclone passed nearby, Lanto was prepared with alternate activities which still aligned with our interests. Lanto was not only a guide but was a pleasure to spend time with and get to know, feeling more like a friend. While Madagascar is an incredible and beautiful country it is not always an easy place to travel, however going with Lanto and Madagascar Tropic Voyage certainly made it much easier and more manageable. I would certainly recommend anyone considering a trip to Madagascar to get in touch with Lanto!

I booked a 5 day tour with Lanto and his team and it was excellent. Our driver and guide was Tojo who was also excellent in all regards. My requests for the tour were all met and the fact that Air France delayed the delivery of our bags by 4 days didn’t hamper our travel arrangements as Lanto dealt with that too. Thank you to the Madagascar Tropic Voyage team!!!

(Translated by Google) We took a three-week tour of Madagascar with Madagascar Tropic Voyage in August/September 2025. Planning in December 2024 with Lanto, the owner of the company, was quick and professional. He responded very quickly to my emails, accommodated all my requests, made his own suggestions, and gave us advice on what clothing and equipment we should bring. His wife, Tojo, acted as our tour guide and picked us up at the airport along with the driver. She also organized a SIM card for our smartphone and exchanged cash. Tojo, who accompanied us the entire time, ensured the perfect organization and execution. She even managed to organize a birthday cake and a live band for my wife's birthday at the hotel in the evening! Madagascar is a fascinating country with lovely people. Tojo, with her friendly and gracious manner, ensured our well-being, provided us with a wealth of information about the culture and lifestyle of the people, and repeatedly pointed out special features and beautiful viewpoints during our car rides, where we could stop and take photos. The car we used during our trip was large and comfortable, and the hotels I chose together with Lanto were excellent. The hotels "Soleil des Tsingy," "Hôtel La Mira de Madiorano," and "Hotel Le Jardin du Roy" are particularly noteworthy. We can wholeheartedly recommend Madagascar Tropic Voyage! Notre Dame de la Salette Cathedral

Catholic church
Sights & Landmarks
Churches & Cathedrals
The Our Lady of La Salette shrine in Antsirabe, Madagascar is a significant Catholic pilgrimage site, inspired by the original Marian apparition in La Salette, France. Reflecting the influence of 19th-century missionaries, it has become a focal point for Malagasy Catholic faith, blending local traditions with Catholicism. Located in the picturesque town of Antsirabe, known for its colonial history, thermal springs, and volcanic landscapes, the shrine draws pilgrims during religious festivals, offering both spiritual enrichment and cultural experiences. Antsirabe’s serene environment, famous for its pousse-pousse rickshaws and rich agricultural produce, enhances the shrine’s appeal for both religious devotees and travelers alike.
