This site promotes Vietnamese ethnic minority groups' traditions and culture. These tourism activity development will also support the livelihood of the ethnic minority people working here as staffs. They're all super friendly, kind and welcoming. The area is surrounded by nature. Be aware to bring anti-mosquito and insect spray especially in summer if you want to spend nights here.

What a gem! I’ve spent amazing couple days in Thai Hai village. Was able to meet local people and immerse in their culture. Everyone in the village is really friendly and helpful. They would always, at least try and speak some English to you. The kiddos-so adorable! I loved to watch them run around and perform. The scenery is also very tranquil. There is a river, lots of trees and greens. The village itself is very nice and relaxing place to come and unwind for a while as well as it’s a great place if you want to learn more about their ethnic group. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Thai Hai is amazing! All the villagers are so friendly and welcoming! The views and nature are beautiful and the food is delicious, especially the hot pot with the special Thai Hai sauce! I couldn’t recommend visiting the Thai Hai village more!

Such an amazing experience, one of the best of my life even! The people there are SO welcoming and friendly, you can really experience their culture and sense of community. I loved that it’s not just a tourisy spot either, they really live this traditional way and it’s their life. So interesting to see. The kids are soooo cute too! Also the food was really good, and the rooms just what we expected. I recommend it to everyone!!

This place is more than amazing, is for taking a relax time and enjoy with the most unbelievable people! The food, the rooms, the service and activities were excellent and I swear that I’ll be back! Is a real ethnic village where you can see how the traditions from hundreds years ago are preserved and how a group of persons decide to live in this incredible community. You have the option to get a medical massage and sauna too, visit the traditional houses and enjoy with the love of the children!

Thành Chương's Viet Palace

Heritage museum
Nature & Parks
Parks
Thành Chương's Viet Palace is a unique complex of traditional buildings surrounded by lotus ponds and lush gardens, housing a vast collection of art and artifacts that span Vietnamese history. Unlike typical museums, this place invites visitors to see objects differently in a tranquil and stunningly beautiful setting. The site offers a blend of old and modern Vietnamese architecture, carefully curated to provide an immersive experience.
Thanh Chuong’s Viet Palace a complex museum yet overwhelmingly beautiful, clean and peaceful at the same time. It has numerous trees and plant species and restored traditional buildings, religious statues, pottery items and serene lotus pond. It is simply mind blowing as you maneuver through the massive exhibitions in the compound. It took us about an hour to explore its beauty. The restaurant inside serves delicious Vietnamese delicacies that we also enjoyed. It was located at least 45km from where we stayed in Hanoi. I would advise that if you are a traveling tourist, plan your trip earlier in the day especially if you would be heading to the airport in the evening as it is closer to Noi Bai international airport. Also taxis maybe a challenge afterwards as the museum is located outside of Hanoi capital (Soc Son)
Mary L — Google review
Just a short trip from Hanoi, this destination is a true hidden gem and one of the must-visit spots in the area. It is among the rare places that still preserve, almost intact, the ancient charm, traditional way of life, and authentic atmosphere of a Northern Vietnamese village. The mild, pleasant climate makes wandering through the village a refreshing and soothing experience, perfect for those seeking peace and cultural immersion. The setting is also exceptionally photogenic, especially for traditional ao dai photoshoots. For travelers interested in history, culture, and photography, this destination offers a unique glimpse into Vietnam’s heritage. It is also worth noting the importance of ongoing preservation efforts. With thoughtful policies, the site can continue to safeguard its cultural significance while also providing sustainable economic opportunities for the local community.
Khánh N — Google review
Advice: show up EARLY, like right at opening or at nap time. Otherwise you’ll be here with the tour buses of middle aged viet aunties in ao dai doing photo shoots and gossiping 😂🇻🇳 So beautiful, I’ve been in Vietnam for 8 years and was skeptical to pay 150k for an entrance ticket. However as a lover of nature, architecture and traditional handicrafts I was in awe. Such a unique blend of time periods and styles. Read the pamphlet and you’ll understand the sort of confusing yet harmonious hotpot of motifs, materials and styles. There’s shade, a coffee shop with good prices, and it’s dense- I spent about an hour exploring and then another 40 minutes in the cafe people watching.

Very beautiful place and kind staff. Couldn’t find a grab driver to get back to the airport and they called a taxi for me🙏
Mireia L — Google review
Very quiet and beautiful place, it's worth to spend around 2 hours there.
Katalin K — Google review
Beautiful spot to take photos, just packed with photogenic spots around the areas of the building, decent car park. Well organized and very clean, generally well maintained. Entry price would seem reasonable in EU, but feels bit high here. However it's quite special and unique, so if you are looking for some pretty photos, it's worth the price of admission.
Mark T — Google review
We almost missed this The day we left Hanoi back home we had a few hours free time and decided to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and found this gem Better than any museum we saw in Vietnam or Cambodia during our month long trip If ever I need to organize a retreat I would love to organize it here

Nui Coc Lake is a beautiful landscape of Thai Nguyen, likened to "Ha Long Bay on land". The lake surface is immense and calm like a giant mirror, reflecting the clouds, sky and mountains. Around the lake are small, pretty islands, creating a poetic and majestic scene. The air here is fresh and cool, bringing a pleasant and relaxing feeling. Coming to Nui Coc Lake, we can not only admire the amazing natural beauty but also feel the connection between people and legends, between reality and myth. This is truly a proud and attractive destination of the homeland.

Tam Dao Golf Course

Hillside golf course with a villalike clubhouse surrounded by often misty, forested peaks.
One is the most beautiful golf course in the North of Vietnam. Must try.
Thuy T — Google review
This is an appropriate place for relaxing and enjoying awesome time with your family or friends. There is a golf course and mini swimming pool for each villa but without wifi. The villa I rented is maximum for 15 people. The villa is fully furnished. The host is also very nice.
Ngân P — Google review
Pleasant golf course in a convenient location. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices.
Cong N — Google review
An old parkland golf course built around early 2000s. Greens are exceptionally slow at 7.8 Course is short if you play off white so go for blue. Some of the fairways are bring repaired or simply divots filled up with sand. No memorable holes though. Stayed at the top of Tam Dao mountain for the night, still a good distance away.
M L — Google review
It was raining season and the course still in good condition. It cost 1,900,000vdn per player and worth it with caddy helping. Caddy tips is from 300k to 500k. We stay 1 night at the course and the room is not the best. Mattress is damn firm and have some kind of irritationg machine noises at night. It took about 30minutes taxi to go to mountain Tam Dao Stone Church. Can't get grab and taxi is about 200k to 300k.
Stephen L — Google review
It is a good golf course for beginners to gain experience. The bunker is quite high, so it's great to practice. The grass condition of the field is also good.

Tam Dao National Park

National park
Nature & Parks
Parks
National park designated in 1996 with 64 mammal species plus hiking treks in the bamboo forest.
They have a gentle walking trail with trees labeled and patches of butterflies. Passed by the bears they have - super loud. But they were safe. Keep going until the end! The treasure is there. Nice simple stream with water falling. Loved how quiet it was. Didn’t quite see restrooms. Did have trash cans. Went during Dec - was chilly, but sun in afternoon came out and the weather was 10/10 perfect!

Need to stay here a few nights, nice and cool.
Peter B — Google review
came all the way to tam dao for the national park but was greatly disappointed. walked about 800m in to reach a “security post” where it was just one lady mending it & she didn’t allow us in saying we needed advanced registration. but there was absolutely no one there. horrible experience

Xa Huong lake in Tam Dao national park is tranquil and picturesque. You can hike for 2 hours (around 6 km) to reach the stream and a flat land for camping.

As same as Sapa, the weather in here so magical. We can see thick fog everywhere, it comes down and lifts suddenly. In this weather, that very suitable to walk throught the light wind or stay in door in the pub to watch the people walk by the window.. Be sure to bring for you some liqueur, enjoy the music and relax for a while. No one will hurry you!

Phoenix Golf Course Luong Son

Golf course

One of the most stunning golf courses I’ve ever been to. Course condition is pristine, views are stunning, and service is friendly. Yes, the clubhouse is a bit rundown, but the golf experience is truly unforgettable. I played the Champion Course and it presented a nice challenge. Would love to come back here!
Bryan A — Google review
Nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Lương Sơn, Hòa Bình, the Championship Course at Phoenix Golf Resort is a golfer’s paradise that left me in awe. Often dubbed “Hạ Long on Land,” the course is surrounded by majestic mountains and stunning scenery, with limestone cliffs and lush green fairways creating a postcard-worthy backdrop. The beautiful scenery truly elevates every swing, making it feel like you’re playing in a natural masterpiece. However, the weather can be a factor. During my visit, it was a bit hot when there’s no breeze, which made some holes feel taxing, especially in the midday sun. I’d recommend early morning tee times to enjoy cooler conditions and the serene morning light that enhances the course’s charm. While the course itself is a gem, the clubhouse is where things fall short. It needs renovations—the facilities feel dated, with visible wear and tear, and the maintenance could use a significant upgrade.
Hac N — Google review
This golf course has amazing view. The hills surrounding the golf course is surely one of the best I ever seen. The fareway and greens are in good condition. We play the Phoenix course and was told the Championship course is even better. We are planning to return in December to play again!
K L — Google review
Three 18-hole courses. Owned by Korean owners. Played at Champions Course twice: 6 Oct 2023 and 12 Nov 2024. The course is well maintained, with huge rocks and palm trees lining the side of the fairways. Some holes are stunning with elevated tees. Had lunch at the restaurant that sells Korean food when we were looking for Vietnam fare. Fried rice with egg cost VND169,000.
Biyan T — Google review
The course is in a beautiful location, just a short drive from the city, surrounded by nature and stunning views. The layout was fun, with a good mix of challenging holes and easier ones, making it enjoyable for golfers of all levels. The facilities were solid—modern clubhouse, clean locker rooms, and a nice pro shop. Once the renovations are complete, I’m sure it’ll be even better. After the round, I grabbed a bite at the restaurant, and the food was pretty good. The service was excellent, too. The staff were friendly, and the caddies gave helpful tips throughout the game. Overall, it’s a great spot to play if you're looking for a nice course without all the fuss. Great experience! Definitely recommend it!
Tue A — Google review
This is the 9th golf course I’ve played in Vietnam and it’s easily the worst of them all. The facilities are very old and in bad shape (inside and outside). They don’t have an ATM. On the course, the grass was too high on the tee boxes and several holes had dented rims. Our caddies lost interest in taking care of my group on the back nine, despite us tipping them up front 500k. However, one positive about the course is the beautiful surrounding mountain views. If it was half the price to play golf here, maybe I’d return.
Steven C — Google review
Challenge. Champion course probably is for champions. I am totally broken with my double handicap scores. Fairway grass is not fine and green is super fast. However, the landscape is brilliant and enjoyable. One of the must-play golf course of Viet Nam.
Tiến-Dũng N — Google review
This golf club is currently better much than before because good green management, good service to player, many professional caddy can help to players for enjoy of nice play score..moreover this golf club is famous with breathtaking and stunning view of scenery 😍 . Ba Vi National Park

National park
Nature & Parks
Nestled in the misty and captivating landscape, Ba Vi National Park provides a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi. The park features well-developed trails that lead to attractions such as the Ho Chi Minh Temple, the Ruins, and the Cactus Dome. It's an ideal spot for birdwatching and offers a great opportunity to immerse in nature.
I had the chance to visit there this summer. It’s a beautiful, peaceful, and quiet place. The temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius. The rooms are all surrounded by trees, offering a surprising view of the Red River in the morning.
Nguyen H — Google review
We enjoyed our time in Ba Vi National Park . We hired a tour guide but that wasn’t necessary. You just need a way to get there. We just did the walks with the stairs (about 1200 on one side and about 650 on the other) so you can definitely get a great work out. There are several temples along the way up that are active. It’s so impressive how many people walk up to make offerings and pray.
Terri G — Google review
Nice park for a weekend wander and some ok trail running - best run is still up the main road to the french runs and the mountain temple. The park is still wild in some places - nice to be in nature and close to the city.
C W — Google review
Excellent day hike approximately 65 km from French Quarter in Hanoi. I enjoyed the clean air on a foggy morning. There were very few people and vehicles as I walked up the road and then took the trails to the old prison and the church ruins. It is a rain forest in parts... could hear the rain falling in the deep forest- but it was not raining on me - very peaceful. It was a slippery day and I was happy I brought some hiking sticks... definitely worth the trip 👌
Peter T — Google review
Ba Vì National Park is an ideal destination for nature lovers and explorers. It offers a refreshing green space, fresh air, and a diverse ecosystem. Visitors can explore notable sites such as Thượng Temple, the Ancient Church, or conquer the Tản Viên Peak. Especially in late autumn, the blooming wild sunflowers make the landscape even more vibrant. However, the entrance fee does not quite match the deteriorating road conditions, as some areas have landslides and large sinkholes. Additionally, the shops around the area have very high prices, so visitors should prepare their supplies in advance to avoid buying them on-site.
Đức M — Google review
It's national park in the mountain. There is the gate and ticket counter in the beginning. They charge 60K for entrance, and 10K for parking? at 1100m points? Anyway on the way of heading to the 1100m point, there are some view points. It's high enough to see all landview from the mountain. It's worth to come here even just driving. Anyway please be carefull. It was very cold on the top of the mountain. You should bring your jacket here. I visited May 2025. It was cold on top. By the way, there is a shop at the 1100m point, so good to have Hao Hao noodle there Lol.
The W — Google review
The road access to the National Park is under construction, but if you go at lunchtime, when all the workers are eating or sleeping, there will be no delays. Beautiful place, I went there to get off the beaten track and not have to hear motorcycles and cars driving and Honking. ( it’s about an hour away from Hanoi. )
Alain C — Google review
We had up-and-down emotion to get to the Bavi National Park and I will summarize as belows: - Up to the elevation 400m, road is terrible due to road maintenance. We had to wait for 10 min for a concrete truck to work across the road. It is so crowded and dusty without any warning in the beginning of the road. - From elevation 400m to 700m, a quite good road to go will full of plants around. - From elevation 700m to 1100m, a high slope can make your brake broken down when going down. Be careful with this popular problem there. We also made that similar difficulty and a little bit scary to go down. On the cote 1100, it is so special to see the fog and clouds going around. A good moment to enjoy the travel. Note that you will buy a ticket at the foot of the park, vnd 60k per person excluded your vehicle fee. Lưu ý rất dễ mất phanh khi đi xuống từ cao độ 1100m đến 700m vì đường rất dốc. Nên chuẩn bị sẵn số điện thoại trong trường hợp cần cứu hộ xe.

Not worth a visit, there’s nothing to see here. The ticket price is 50k VND for adults and 25k VND for children under 15. The initial concept for this museum might have been promising, but there’s truly nothing to see. It feels like a scam. What a waste of 50k.

It spans a vast area, offering a pristine and untouched natural beauty that's perfect for summer visits. The park boasts primeval forests, caves, and cascading waterfalls, making it an ideal spot for hiking and exploring. Visitors can enjoy village homestays with warm hospitality and delicious local cuisine.
Amazing place that you have to come there once in summer! Very nature, quiet and tranquality. We stayed in Muong house without booking in advance and they hosted us warmly with delicious food. You should spend there at least 2 days to explore the river, cave, waterfall and climb the mountain there. Highly recommend!

A very underrated place - one can easily spend more time there doing hikes and stuff. We just drove thru quickly and dipped in the river- water was clean and blueish green ish. Very refreshing. There's a new asphalt road going thru the forest- will definitely be back for more riding around.

Beautiful mountains, caves and waterfalls. Hiking is also good. Fresh air, cozy mountainous life, delicious chicken and crab.

Really good park that is still fairly wild. A fee homestays in there and they are ok. The road there is pretty good apart from small patches that are being upgraded. Easy driving.

Moc Suong Oolong Plantation

It was interesting to visit the tea plantation. We walked around a bit, learned some information about growing tea, and later tasted four types of oolong tea. We also bought some tea.

No admission fees but you need to know where to go. LOL. We were so fortunate to meet with the tea plantation owners today!! They spent hours chatting with us about the oolong tea harvesting and processing and the growth of the plantation over the past 25 years. The oolong tea here are shipped to Taiwan, where then repackaged, rebranded and shipped to Japan and Europe. We got to taste test four different types of oolong teas. There are about ten different types that are grown here and are harvested at four different times a year. Best oolong teas we ever had!! We bought different teas to bring back home as gifts. The wife walked us to many beautiful spots around the plantation and took many beautiful pictures for us. Both husband and wife were super sweet and friendly!! So grateful for their hospitality!!!

An Oolong tea plantation that mainly exports to Taiwan and Japan. The owner, Phu Hau, welcomed us warmly even though we walked in without any prior reservation. He was really happy and enthusiastic to share with us his passion for Oolong tea, and how he built up the business 30 years ago from a dream that started from a trip to Taiwan, to 3 plantations covering a total of 175 hectares today! He also let us try for free all the different types of Oolong tea that they produce, some of which were not even for sale, all without trying to get us to buy anything. It will be easier to converse with him if you can speak Vietnamese or Mandarin.

One way to describe the experience here would be "Fine wine philosophy applied to tea production". The owners have been tilling this land for over 2 decades and the hard work and dedication shine through the quality of their product. Operating to a self imposed, strict and very high standard, you can feel their genuine passion, respect and love for the tea plants and the land upon which they grow. Their tea varieties are second to none when it comes to taste and aroma. What makes this place truly stand out for anyone, not just tea buffs, is the true hospitality and kindness of the people, the priceless knowledge and wisdom they impart.

A colorful glass-floored bridge leads to a series of cascades over rocks with a pool.
Awesome place in between nature. Waterfall is step wise with very scenic and beautiful. Need to be careful while trekking towards waterfall. Spent good time there. No street light or proper light in evening time. Entry fee is around 80k VND. Parking is available.
Devabrat B — Google review
It's a really nice spot. The waterfalls are peaceful and it's well maintained and clean. There are Muong natives selling souvenirs and the smaller glass bridge and waterfall are pretty. I would recommend this over the more expensive glass bridge in Mộc Châu if you're on a budget.
Tim R — Google review
They sell the ticket 150,000 vnd/ pax for all activities here, we saw the direction for zipline but we did not see any zipline there! Also there are so much trash at the coffee shop and waterfall. When you walk on glass bridge, just look down and you will see so so much trash float on the surface of water. It is easy to find this place, just follow google maps. After buy the ticket, you will walk a bit, the road is good, very easy to walk, no slippery at all. The waterfall is beautiful. Due to recently rain that’s why so much water in the waterfall and in other side it looks like another waterfall too.
D C — Google review
80,000₫ for the entrance fee. Easy trek to the main waterfall with beautiful sights along the way. Be careful while taking photos at the waterfall as the bamboos are slippery and be prepared to get wet by waterfall shower. To proceed further to the love bridge, you'll have to pay additional 100,000₫.
NonoP — Google review
150k entry + 10k bike parking. It’s quite a lot of money tbh, but it’s a well maintained nice looking place to walk around
Alexander K — Google review
On hot summer days, there's nothing better than standing at the foot of the waterfall, breathing fresh air, cool steam on your face, or immersing yourself in the cool, refreshing water. However, we came here in the late spring, the waterfall has beautiful scenery, food service and when you come here you have to buy a ticket...umh, I don't like this very much #waterfall #travel #Vietnam
Thiep P — Google review
If you visit Moc Chau town, you will have opportunities to watch the magical beauty which nature has granted to this area, and live in a primeval scene of the early days of life on earth. Dai Yem waterfall is a historical landscape, which is closely related to the history of Thai people in Muon Sang land a long time ago. The name Dai Yem is derived from a story about the brassiere of the girl who saved a boy from the flood. The Vat spring which flows to the waterfall has a length of about 5km. Water fills the spring year round. When it flows to this part, the spring is blocked by a limestone wall, and the water is stagnant and flows back to the lower bank. Bo Sap is a large spring, which derives from Bo Sap village near the border of Vietnam and Laos in Yen Chau land. Back to the upstream of the spring, tourists can reach the first waterfall. The internal parts of the spring have many small and medium rocks with various strange shapes. In the rainy season (April to September), the entire 70m width is a white curtain flowing to the river, a poetic scene. The second waterfall has only one line from a height of 50m. Many trees at the top of the waterfall create a grand landscape. The waterfall includes two levels of falls with the second located 150 meters at an angle below the first one. Above the second waterfall is a floral stretch of land from where visitors can view the surrounding mountainous view. The Dai Yem Waterfall looks most stunning during the rainy season from April to September every year, when the 70-meter-wide fall gushes down its slope, looking a dazzling white and imposingly dramatic and poetic.
Nguyen C — Google review
A beautiful and stunning waterfall inside a tourism area. A normal glass bridge has also been built at the site. It would be much more convenient for guests if the tickets for both are sold at the entrance gate.

We did 7 days trip in north Vietnam with Zonitrip and we couldn't choose better! Our lovely guide Nghia took care of our trip so comprehensively we did not have to worry about anything. Both the guide and the driver were very friendly and professional! After the trip we know that we wouldn't experience even half of what we did without them - she showed us the most secluded paths, introduced to local people, showed the everyday life of Vietnamese people on the countryside (e.g. home fresh noodle manufacture, tea production in the backyard etc). Additionally we didn't know what to expect in Vietnam in terms of vegetarian food, but with Nghia it was no concern at all. Every meal was a feast! Plenty of delicious vegetarian options. Tuan is an amazing driver, very calm and patient. The car was comfortable, he stopped every time we asked, kept the car sparkling clear throughout the whole trip. At first we were a little bit unsure if a guided trip is for us, as we prefer to travel on our own. However it turned out to be simply amazing experience! She gave us as much privacy as we needed, while being around to share fascinating stories or just for a friendly chat. 5 five stars, no doubts!!!

🌸 Message of Appreciation for Our Guide, Ms. Nia Nghia (Zonitrip) 🌸 We are a group of seven friends who recently completed a Ha Giang Hiking Trip in Vietnam with Zonitrip, and we feel truly fortunate to have Ms. Nia Nghia as our guide. Nia is an exceptional guide — proactive, cheerful, and full of humor. She knows her job very well and always takes the initiative to check with locals whenever she’s unsure about something. Throughout our journey, she anticipated challenges ahead and was always there to lend a helping hand. Though petite in size, Nia is full of energy and enthusiasm, even after a long day of trekking! What impressed us most is her deep passion for her work. Along the way, she shared with great warmth and insight about the history, culture, and traditions of the different ethnic groups we encountered. Her passion and compassion made our trip not only fun but also meaningful. We are deeply grateful for her dedication and care. We will definitely return to Vietnam — and when we do, we’ll be sure to have Nia as our guide again! Highly recommended for anyone planning a Ha Giang adventure in Vietnam! 🇻🇳❤️

One of The Most Memorable Parts of Our Trip! We absolutely LOVED this three day, two night trip with Nghia! We started from Hanoi and made our way up north to Mu Cang Chai. We spent the first day trekking to a tea farm up in the mountains and spent the first night at a homestay. We biked through rice fields, met locals and learned a lot about the community. We trekked up in Mu Chang Chai the second day via motorbike, walking and met locals, including our tour guide. As a traveler here, you need to be flexible and willing to experience the trip, even when the conditions aren't ideal. It rained some on the second day, and was very muddy, but I think that gave the day an even better memory. Our meals were also very yummy and we were able to experience all sorts of local delights.

The 4 days spent with the tour organized by Zonitrip were truly exceptional! We visited places that would otherwise have been impossible to visit independently. Everything organized to perfection, from the driver to the places to sleep, from meals with local food to overnight stays. A true immersion in Vietnamese culture and customs! If you also add friendliness, fun and wonderful evenings together to all this, this is ZoniTrip! Great! Thanks for everything

Nghia from Zonitrip tailored our 6 nights trip to North Vietnam to our needs. She knew the hikes and their rigor very well and she was very careful in planning our daily adventures. This was the BEST cultural experience for us and it was enlightening to visit authentic remote villages where no other tourists go!

“Very great trip to mount Fansipan !” 5 of 5 starsReviewed 5 days ago NEW Thanks Zonitrip for this great experience ! We climbed the mount Fansipan, the highest point in Vietnam. We were in Yen Bai which is 3hours from Hanoi by bus. Nghia organised everything for us, as dropped us on the Highway at midnight to catch the bus to Sapa ! We were only four in our group, and we started to hike the first day and we slept in the base camp (2800m). Good atmosphere and good people over there ! The guide cooked a great meal for us and we spent good time drinking some local alcohol and beers (you can find beers in the hut but you have to bring your own alcohol wink emoticon The day after we started to hike around 6.30am for 2 hours until the top of the Fansipan. Unfortunately it was really cloudy, like almost every day so no regrets ! We decided to go down by the cable car (600 000 dng) cause of the rain. We had time to visit around Sapa and to meet some locals before to take the bus. The city is really nice even if it's extremely touristy... We went back in Yen Bai around 8pm and Nghia was waiting for us with her husband to dropped us at home. That was 2 really nice days ! Thank you so much for everything ! I highly recommend Zonitrip !

Must see attraction for anyone interested in Vietnamese political, military or history. There is very little information on site so without prior research it will be difficult to have a true understanding of what you are looking at and it’s historical importance and context. There as small signs in Vietnamese and English but they are very short with information. Near the entrance are some souvenirs. According to the map you should be able to exit at the rear and continue on to the memorial complex/shrine behind it which is another must see, but we couldn’t find a proper exit there.

Most interesting place, part of most important History where Vietnam fought and defeated the French Colonizers in 1954 to become Free and Independent of any Colonization. An absolute must to visit if you interested and respect Vietnamese History

A1 Hill is an important battlegrounds in the Battle of Dien Bien Phu, and one of the famous historical relics of Dien Bien. Here you can see the command bunker, the bomb crater, French tank, tunnel system that were buit in the war between French and Vietnam.

A must part of the 1954 site seeing trail. Very easy to find as quite close to the main museum and military cemetery. The bunker network is quite well preserved as is the mine crater which finally helped the Viet Ming break through. If you visit here also make sure to also seek out hill Beatrice (a couple of miles north) which is even better preserved than A1 because it attracts fewer visitors.
Yorkie P — Google review
Only 20k entrance fee this is a must see. I'm not sure if the trenches are based on real archaeology but it does enough to demonstrate the look of the outpost that many people died trying to take and hold.

Military Museums
Absolutely a fantastic History Museum for the area. Lots of great artefacts and photos and the mural was stunning in its story telling, detail and artistic execution. The architecture of the museum is also impressive and the grounds very nice and clean. If you are an enthusiast of politics, military and history you could spend a solid 1.5-2hs to read and see all the details to be conscious of the closing time for lunch 1100-1330 so you don’t get half way through and have to leave. If you you aren’t that interested in the subject matter you could possibly spend 30-45 minutes there and be satisfied. Again, if you are knowledgeable and interested in the subject matter it is an amazing place to visit!

Nong Khiaw Viewpoint offers a stunning panoramic view that is worth the hike. The trail can be completed in about an hour, with some steep parts but overall not too challenging. Ropes and bamboo railings are available in certain areas, although they may not be necessary for everyone. It's recommended to start the climb no later than 4:30 pm if you want to catch the sunset, and bringing a torch for the descent in the dark is advised.
Pretty good hike, not too challenging but requires persistence. About 1 hour up and view is nice, but visibility during summer period is poor so perhaps choose a period with better visibility. Entrance was 50k LAK as the residence maintain the trail. Signs are well marked so no issues hiking by yourself.

It took me 2 hours to walk (during the day). There is a sign up the hill “camping not allowed without tour”. There was actually a tour so I was not allowed to sleep at the top so I walked 5 min. and pinched my tent on the trail (there are flat parts). Sunset was amazing. Entrance from the main road 50.000 Kib. People came also up from the other side (free entrance they said)

Amazing views. Worth the climb. Highly recommended to bring something against mosquitoes for the climate themselves and also for night. Also, the food that the guides make at the top is not so great, it would be better to just bring more food for dinner. The easiest way is just to book the trip through a local guide at the town.

We climbed this viewpoint separately from a tour and it was the best decision! We left around 4:10 in the morning and arrived at the top an hour later. It was not a difficult hike in the dark, we only had the flashlights of our smartphones and this was fine. The sunrise wasn’t that great when we went but still the views were gorgeous. We didn’t have to pay any fee to enter. Bonus tip: go for a delicious breakfast at Couleur Cafe afterwards - and take the breakfast set!! This was so good after the hike

Great hike and views, it took us about an hour and a half, slowly walking up. We started at around 8:30, was still cloudy but by the time we arrived clouds started to move away and we had great clear views.
Gabi Z — Google review
A 90 minute uphill slog but very rewarding views. Not recommended after heavy rain.
Lisa E — Google review
50k entry. About 1 hr up and 45 min down. Bring a torch if you're coming down after sunset. Definitely worth it. Amazing 360 degree views
Caleb P — Google review
Very clean. Very peaceful. Only a handful of crowd - that too on a Sunday. Will take around 90 mins - 120 mins to hike up to the viewpoint. Can camp on top as well. But you will have to take permission earlier. Refer to pic uploaded by me for this location to see where you need to go for the required camping permissions.

Nong Khiaw Jungle Fly

Adventure sports
Tours
Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
Amazing half day with jungle fly. Everything was super safe, top of the line gear, loads of fun. The hikes were beautiful but not challenging. I would say most fitness levels could do it, as long as you are in reasonable shape. We would recommend this experience to anyone in the area. Well worth the price especially if you can get 3 or more people interested.

We had a great day with the jungle fly zipline guys. They gave us enough time to do the ziplines and climbing things and helped us as much as we needed. It was a funny day with a lot of new experiences. We felt save and comfortable all the time. Everything was well organized. Also the boss of of this agency is polite and very helpful, because he helped us to organize a private car.
Navina — Google review
I did the half day zipline tour with them and it was a very good experience. I really enjoy my time during the activity and all the people from the staff was very nice. I highly recomend to do this activity if you go to Nong khiaw. Also the nature there is amazing, so it's the best place to do one activity like this!

Pha Kuang Cave Adventure

Mentioned on
1 list
Nature & Parks
Caverns & Caves
Embark on the Pha Kuang Cave Adventure for a challenging and exhilarating experience. To reach the actual cave, you'll need to navigate through small holes and crawl 300 meters into the rock. Be prepared to encounter mosquitoes and insects, so bring mosquito spray and wear long sleeves. The cave can be dark and wet, so pack torches or hand lights and wear appropriate clothing.
Successfully made it all the way to the end of the cave. Very narrow and tight at points but well worth the adventure of getting there and back. Hardest part is the small hole a quarter of the way in. Bring water and a headlight and wear clothes that can get dirty. Control your breathing and stay calm and it’s easily done! Ticket to enter is 20,000 Kip.

This cave is steeped in history from the indochina war and it is palpable once you enter. Mant sections require crawling through with very little headroom so probably best avoided if very claustrophobic. The experience of total silence and pitch blackness is really fascinating (though do no enter without a light source!). I would strongly recommend this cave with to anyone with a sense of adventure!

An amazing exploration point about 5 / 10 minutes away on a scooter from the main town of Nong Khiaw. Some people told us we had to pay for entry however when we arrived about 11am nobody was there so we didn’t end up paying. It’s a very cool experience inside and it goes really quite deep with some tight squeezes through.
Daniel T — Google review
I visited this cave once on purpose and the second time, it was included as part of a tour. I enjoyed both times in the cave. As with all the reviews here. There's a narrow pinch point about 35cm x 70cm so this cave is not for everyone. There's something special to squirrel through the tight spaces and continue deeper until you feel uncomfortable and turn back. Both times I reached the same point, there's a wide downhill slope with a rope on the right hand side. I didn't feel comfortable continuing deeper into the spaces at the end of that slope. But I explored as deep as I could and I had a great time exploring. I don't have caving experience.

If you’re ready to get yourself very dirty and are physically fit, this is going to be a super cool adventure for you. The real adventure start after crawling through a super small hole you need to squeeze through. Sometimes helps to know little climbing skills to go back from some routes where the ground is super slippery. Reaching the end of the cave including all forks took me about an hour. Going out about 15mins.
עומרי ס — Google review
It's a real cave experience. You have to be aware that to enter the real cave, you have to pass trow a hole 30 centimeters width × 70 centimeters height then keep crawling and squeezing for 3 meters. Bring a mosquito spray. There is a lot of mosquito and insects that's gonna attack you. Bring also a pant and shirt with sleeves because it's really moody and sometimes you gonna step on water so your shoes gonna get wet. Bring torch and hand lights because it's so dark. It's gonna take you at least 1.30 hours to go through the whole cave. If you bring a bag, just let it in the cave and continue it's hard to squeeze with it. Also bring clothes change 😉. If you have a problem with breathing, don't go. I didn't put 5 stars because the entrance fee increased to 20k kip . Also, they don't make people aware of the size of the cave, I could fit only because I'm small. But I really enjoyed the experience. There was no one 😏. Don't forget you have to walk more than 3 km from nong khiaw to this cave 😀
KARIMI K — Google review
Really enjoyed this caving experience. Did it without a guide but with two other French ladies. The entry fee was 20k kip per person. It was a short hike to the cave entrance where there was a massive hole for sunlight to shine in and it was pretty to take pics there. Then we moved into the darkness, took our head torches out and very quickly we were on all 4s. Within 10m, we arrived at a tiny hole of 0.3m x 0.75m and only one of us could fit through - my partner couldn’t so he waited outside the hole while I entered with 2 other ladies. It was completely dark so headtorch is a must. Be prepared to get dirty and it was sandy dusty and damp. We scrambled and crawled for more than 10m and the cave opened up a bit. Eventually there was a slope with a rope at the side to help us climb down and we reached the end of the cave. Total time taken was about 1h-1.5h with photo taking. Go slow and steady, and always bring a partner while caving for safety reasons!
Sportsfreako — Google review
What a brilliant little adventure. Pay your 10,000 Kip to the restaurant over the road and get a head torch from them. Towards to back of the first atrium is a smaller hole to enter. Beyond there the cave goes a long way in, through some lengthy sections commando crawling or squeezing through a pinch. Eventually at the end you get to a couple of black pits of death so you will know when your cave exploration is done. The cave is muddy at times and can be claustrophobic if you are that way inclined but it’s really not too bad except for one 30cm x 70cm pinch. It is worth making sure you have battery in your phone so you have a back up in the event the head torch runs out of battery. I took my 7 year old daughter in and she loved it.

Pak Ouv Caves

Mentioned on
3 lists
Buddhist temple
Nature & Parks
Pak Ou Caves, also known as Buddha Caves, are a popular religious destination in Luang Prabang. Visitors can take a smooth and comfortable boat cruise upriver to reach the caves, where they will find two separate caverns filled with hundreds of intricately carved wooden Buddhas and an altar for reflection. One cave boasts over 1,000 Buddha statues while the other has a cool history behind it.
Also known as Buddha cave. The cave is situated by Mekong river bank with the entrance by boat. Inside, there are 4 thousand Buddha statues with many shapes and sizez and materials, dedicated by locals. With two caves: upper and lower caves
Tú A — Google review
2 cool caves to see if you can add it to your day trip. I wouldn’t come just for the caves there isn’t a lot to do here. If you’re passing on a tour then definitely stop and take the time to walk the 278 steps to the upper cave. Apparently there is approx 4000 Buddha statues across the 2 caves.
Olly S — Google review
Positive: Lots and lots of Budda statues, not smelly and wet like some caves, two levels of caves with good steps to climb up, reasonably priced boat ride (15,000kip for small boat or 50,000kip for the big boat and cave entrance fee (30,000kip). Negative: no view of the Mekong or surrounding hills. Not for those who are more interested in the scenery rather than history, religion and ethnography. Suggestion to Management (hopefully they read this) : make a few more steps from the upper cave to the top of the cliff for a (probably fantastic) view of the Mekong and the surrounding hills.

These caves overlook the Mekong River, 25 km to the north of Luang Prabang, Laos. To get there would require a boat ride along the Mekong river, about two hours upstream from the centre of Luang Prabang. There are two caves noted for their hundreds of miniature Buddha sculptures laid on the shelves and all over the caves. Interesting visit

Lovely location beside the Mekong. Old historic location with thousands of Buddha statues . This limestone cave has a lower and upper part and well worth the climb.
Mohan F — Google review
A very cool place, and not too many steps to the top cave. There's not too much to them as you'd expect though. You only need 10 minutes to explore both caves. But they are in a incredibly beautiful spot on the Mekong River
Lee C — Google review
I loved it there. Tip for solo travellers: The entry is 30K KIP for foreigners. Individual person boat ride is 25K KIP. The local shacks will ask you five times the price to get the ticket for you. Just don’t fall for it. Look for the ticket counter and buy yourself.

Pak Ou Caves in Luang Prabang northern of Laos offer a unique blend of natural beauty and spiritual richness. Take the boat ride across the river to the cave is scenic and beautiful nature along the Mekong River. The caves are filled with thousands of Buddha statues, which lend the space an almost mystical aura.

Beautiful little hilltop temple with a view of Muang Xay. The stupa and standing Buddha are the main sights here. Although it's listed as a major tourist attraction for the city, it was actually quite peaceful when we went. I loved the contrast of the gold stupa against the blue sky, really it's just beautiful here. Happy to have made the stop and will be looking to learn more of the site's history. Recommend for a stop if you're in the area.
