Peaceful and spiritual experience at Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple. I visited the temple yesterday on the full moon day. It was quite crowded, with special prayers going on, but the atmosphere was very peaceful and filled with devotion. Despite the crowd, everything was well managed, and it felt nice to see so many people gathered in faith. Such a worthy visit. Best temple to visit if you love ancient architecture. Best time to visit will be early in the morning and early in the evening before the temple closes, to avoid crowd. I was not able to get a Darshan because of the long que, even though it was disappointing, the exploration into the architecture made me compensate.

Srirangam is a magnificent temple with a vast, beautifully maintained complex. The divine idol of Anantha Shayana Vishnu in the main sanctum is truly awe-inspiring. Don’t miss the Lakshmi and Garuda shrines. The temple is very clean and well-managed. You can also opt for the ₹500 official ticket for direct darshan.

This temple coumpound is large, well maintained except few areas. Free place to keep shoes. Mobiles allowed. I could see n elephant & there's also cow shed inside . It looks like more easy going temple than others.

This temple in Srirangam is around 2 kms from the more famous Ranganatha temple. It is dedicated to Jambukeshwarar (Shiva) and Akhilandeswari (Parvathi). Legend has it that Parvathi prayed in the Jambu forrest and created a lingam made of water from Kaveri river. This temple is one of the pancha bhoota sthalams, signifying water as its element. As one enters one of the gopurams, one gets the feeling that the temple is relatively small with an open space, pond and gardens. When one goes further inside, the massive enclosure in which the temple stands reveals itself. The precincts are beautiful, some of them with many ornate pillars. The sanctum of the temple is dedicated to Lord Jambukeshwarar and is a small space where not more than 5 people can stand at a time. It is a beautiful structure and a must visit for anyone visiting Srirangam/Trichy along with the Ranganatha temple. We did not see any designated parking around the temple and had to park on one of the lanes in the vicinity.

Divine Evening Visit to Jambukeshwara Temple We visited the Jambukeshwara Temple in the evening, and it was a serene and peaceful experience. This temple represents the Jala Lingam (water element) among the five Panchabootha Lingas, and it was our final stop to complete the sacred journey of all five. The temple’s architecture is beautiful, and the spiritual energy inside is truly calming. The approach roads are quite narrow, but there is sufficient parking space near the temple. Inside, we were delighted to see the temple elephant, which added to the traditional and sacred atmosphere. The priests were polite and helpful, and the overall experience was memorable and spiritually fulfilling — highly recommended for anyone visiting Trichy!

A simple yet beautiful Shiva shrine surrounded by an awe-inspiring enclosure of mandapams and pathways. The entrance, with the Nandi Mandapam and its four gigantic pillars, is among the most magnificent in any South Indian temple. Visit very much recommended. There is a new rule of no photography but you can carry your cames in the temple.

The temple has fine architecture. It is believed that goddess Akilandeswari is worshipping Lord Siva daily at noon. An archagar dressessed as a lady worshipping Jambukeswarar and cow at noon. Cow puja is famous here..

A huge temple complex Jabukeshwara Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is worshipped as the water element in this temple. It is around 10kms from the city of Trichy or Tiruchirapalli. On weekdays the temple here usually open at 5.00am and closes at 12.30 pm. And opens again at 4.00pm. One suggestion to all travelers do not refer timings given on Google to schedule your visit. When in trichy, you can go to this temple but please make sure you are fit to climb around 300 steps. If you have any knee pain or foot pain, please skip this temple. Visit this temple only by taking an auto as its located in a very chaotic and busy lanes of the market area.

A padal Petra sthalm. This temple is so famous in the name of Utchi Pillayar temple. When you step up to Utchi Pillayar temple this Thayumanavar (shiva) temple, Mouna madam temple, Meenakshi Sundreshwarer temple, many small temple (sculpture) and also Pallava caves is on this route. Big step around 600 is there. All temple are well maintained. You should have to spend about 3 hours to get your dharsan and photos.

Most peaceful place to ever to be visited. I visited the place right on the day of kaarthigai Deepam 2024 on a Friday midst the cloudy day with drizzles then and there. The whole place didn’t give a feel of I’m in one of the big cities with too many people rather just gave a serene peace and thoughtfulness with all the chanting and silence. Mobile phones aren’t allowed with respect to any modes(no calls, no photos, no videos). The staff was good but they first had a thing when I was on call entering the temple without knowing the no phone rule by later on everything where chill. Make sure you visit this place atleast once.

A beautifully maintained temple located within Trichy city limits. We visited on a weekday, and it was peaceful with very minimal crowd. Parking was easy and the entire premises is clean and well cared for, including the toilets. The temple is surrounded by greenery, with neatly maintained gardens, a meditation area, and fish ponds that add to the calm atmosphere. One unique feature is the presence of sacred stones brought from various places for worship. A serene and spiritually enriching place to visit.

A fantastic and beautiful temple located on a tiny hill. You need to take stairs to see the beautiful views, peacocks and monkeys. You can also reach by bike or car. Don't miss to visit the santhana kotta kugai. Very nice and calm place for doing prayers. You need to bend and go inside the cave to reach the final point. Pin drop Silence should be maintained here. Many peacocks will be sitting in the pathway which is nice to watch.

The climb to the temple is peaceful and not too difficult — each step feels blessed as you reach closer to Lord Murugan’s shrine. The temple is very clean and well-maintained, and the view from the top of the hill is absolutely stunning, especially during sunrise or evening time.

Whenever we went to the Viralimalai temple, it was wonderful. The temple is on top of the hill. There are steps to climb the hill, and also a road to go up by vehicle.

The temple can be reached easily with around 50 steps to climb — not too tiring and suitable for all age groups. The view from the top is beautiful and gives a calm, spiritual feeling. The place is generally not crowded, both on weekdays and weekends, so you can have a relaxed darshan. However, cleanliness around the temple premises could be improved for a better experience. Overall, a nice and serene temple to visit.

It’s one of the very few libraries in the country to preserve literature from the medieval period. Many of these rare palm leaf manuscripts and books have now been made accessible to the public.

It is said that this is Asias first library. The majority of the books are in Tamil, and once upon a time, it was a lovely place to read. However, nowadays, it is crowded with tourists. Despite this, there are still many Tamil books on the shelves. The vibrant colors and beautiful artwork make the space very appealing.

Another beautiful historical place and also palace in Thanjavur. Don't miss it if you are visiting Thanjavur. It's Chhatrapati Shivaji 's palace and has lots of historical significance. It's also a very pictures worthy place with beautiful backgrounds . Entry fee is 50Rupees . Enough parking space for 2 wheeler and 4 wheelers. There is also a small museum with household products of those era . A small library is also there if you want to know study more of that era .

One of the most majestic and peaceful temples I’ve ever visited! The Brihadeeshwara Temple truly lives up to its name - grand, serene, and full of history. During the afternoon, the whole temple complex felt calm and soothing - I even took a short nap under the shade in the temple for a few hours and it was so relaxing. Later in the evening, when the temple lights came on, the entire structure glowed beautifully against the twilight sky. It was truly magical - the perfect blend of spirituality and artistry. A must-visit if you’re in or around Thanjavur. Make sure to stay till evening to see the temple illuminated - it’s an experience you’ll never forget. Recently visited the Pazhamudircholai Murugan Temple. Wonderful experience. Mesmerizing idol of Lord Murugan. Surprisingly people weren't understanding when we asked the direction to Pazhamudircholai Murugan Temple. It's popularly known as Solaimalai Murugan Temple. The temple is located about 25 kilometres north of Madurai, atop a hill covered with dense forests. One of the six important abodes of the deity Murugan located in Tamil Nadu, it is close to the Alagar Perumal Temple. Around 3 kms from Alagar Kovil, there's a small ghat road to the top of hill. The road is excellent. Govt free bus service is available but one needs to wait in long queues. Many people come by walking. Roadside parking available on top of the hill. Temple will be open from morning 6am to evening 6 pm. No break in between. Darshan usually takes 1-2 hrs during weekends. There's Rs. 100 quick darshan service available which takes around 30 mins.

Pazhamudhircholai, one of Lord Murugan’s Arupadai Veedu, is where Avvai Patti received wisdom from Murugan himself — about hot and cold fruits! I visited on a Sunday around 5:30 pm, there was quite a crowd, so I took the ₹100 darshan ticket. If you wait for about 30 minutes, the rush settles down and you can have a peaceful darshan. The picture gallery is lovely they even give a Murugan Valli Devasenai photo with a coin, a nice keepsake for pooja, travel, or gifting to others. The temple layout is beautiful: Vinayagar shrine comes first, Murugan with Valli and Devasenai in the center, and the Vel shrine at the end. Set on a hill, the place is cool and serene though the monkeys are plenty and a bit aggressive thanks to frequent feeding. So, guard your food and belongings! A visit here is a true delight, especially to see the ancient Kadugal and soak in the divine calm of the hills.

Small temple from the Aarupadai lot and open at all times. Vehicle parking is available on the road sides. Slightly ghat section and people will be walking all along to climb up/down. You will see much crowd in boarding the bus rather than at the Temple itself. Highly recommended to go on own transport.

Nice Small Fort. Family friendly area. 50 to 75 steps but manageable . Avoid heat timings or use an umbrella. Left side a siva linga available. Careful while on the ladder. Totally worthy of you having extra time while going through nearby area.

The Fort Structure is large and has a towering granite walls with cannon(artillery gun). Rock cut Temple, Impressive sculptures. Lord shivalinga is also there inside it hard to climb so avoid that. Well maintained fort by TN govt. Ticket: 25 for Adult. Wear Sensible Footwear: The site involves climbing, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Visit in the Morning: Exploring in the morning offers a quieter experience. Limited Facilities: Some reviews mention a lack of amenities, so plan accordingly.

The fort will not be an apt word for this. Seems like a watch tower to me. It has a Siva temple which I saw. But in google it says there is a Vishnu temple and a darbar too in it which I couldn't identify. No guide , no signages . Archeological India should ensure all these exist. The entry by paying in office is 25/person, payment online it's 20/ person. Why this disparities is not clear. Should display and promote local items sale .

At the top of the fort you can see the whole city.. actually fort wall designed layer by layer to prevent and attack the enemies.. near fort siva and perumal kudaivarai statue temple is located.. you can visit that also... VISITED IN SEPT 2025 ON THE WAY TO MADURAI. YOU CAN SEE THIS BEAUTIFUL FORT OVER A MASSIVE ROCK FROM THE HIGHWAY ITSELF. CURIOSITY DRIVES TO THIS AREA AND ALSO FOUND A MARVELLOUS TEMPLE INSIDE THIS ROCK AREA. FORT WAS BUILT IN 1687 . VEERAPANDYA KATTABOMMAN A HEROIC PALAYAKKARA CHIEFTAIN BRAVELY FOUGHT AGAINST BRITISH RULE IN THIS AREA AND BEEN HANGED BY THE WHITES.HIS BROTHER OOMATHURAI ALSO CONTINUED HIS FOOTSTEPS AND KILLED BY BRITISH IN THIS FORT.

Staying at Chettinad heritage mansion was such a lovely experience. We enjoyed everything from the bullock cart ride and heritage village visit to the peaceful temple visits. The guide explained the history in such an engaging way, and the staff were genuinely warm and helpful throughout. The candlelight dinner was very special, the food was tasty, and overall it felt like a perfect mix of culture, comfort, and care. I left with some really good memories and would happily come back again. Chettinadu Mansion is a beautiful heritage stay with super friendly staff, great ambience, and loads of local charm. The mansion is well maintained, full of character, and perfectly located to explore the area, a wonderful mix of tradition, comfort, and hospitality. I would highly recommend.

Everything was perfect from check-in to check-out. The room was ready at the mentioned time. The room was quite spacious, and we really enjoyed the authentic room decoration and other Chettinad Amenities in the Mansion. The AC and hot water were quite effective. The staffs were helpful for the Night dinner outs in Karaikudi and other arrangements. Credit card payment is accepted. They have limited parking inside.

It is an Chettinad heritage house converted into a mansion. If you want to experience chettinad property, go for it. The Pros are that you get to feel and experience the local tradition and heritage. You get modern amenities inside a heritage building. They have an in-house restaurant. Their complimentary breakfast is pretty good. Cons are that the original Kanadukathan Chettinad Palace is just behind this property but they do not allow public visitation. Their restaurant menu is damn costlier and not at all Chettinad cuisine. This mansions stay is priced extremely high. Limited parking with hassle. You can hear noise from neibohring rooms.

Authentic traditional Chettinad palace. Value for money. Don't skip the palace tour, and use the free bicycles there to explore roads and palaces around. We really enjoyed the stay there. Staffs are super friendly and they are ready to serve you with the dishes of your choice and that is also prices reasonable. They will never disappoint you. Rooms have airconditioner but the heat is that much, it was not cooling that much. However the experience of the historic room we really enjoyed. Understand the Chettinad history before going there. You will really enjoy the stay.

The architecture is beautiful but the palace staff were very hostile like they are living in old raja time. Very rude denying entry saying it's a family home. Atleast they should mention it outside before publicising it as a tourist attraction

Chettinadu Mansion, Kanadukathan was a good place. Their food, designs, and heritage/culture were all showcased neatly. It was located right next to key spots like Chettinad Palace, the temple and others. However, their service was not so good. It was very difficult to book as they were not responding. It took 2 days for them to respond to our call. Their room service was ok. When we tried to call via telephone, nobody answers. Even at night theres no staff to guard. What if someone has an emergency and they don't respond? Bathroom was not the same like what they showed in their website. Excluding all of the downsides, the mansion was really nice and stood out from other hotels. It looks old-fashioned and has millennial-type switchboards. Overall it was an okayish experience.

Very good temple and no heavy rush simple darsan, even in the weekend also. It takes only 15 minutes for darsan. Deity also devotional made with alankaram and properly visible.

Must visit place at Chettinad. Their arrangement of queue for darsan is something we should appreciate. And old cave temple. The large vinayaka inside all are very much attractive. So please take care of that and also a strict dres code is followed. The temple has a lot of rich history and importance. There is no ticket and limited security to control the movement of crowd so there can be chaos. The parking space is ample and it is paid parking. The temple is well connected by state bus and you can get taxi from nearby places like Madurai or Karaikudi

Awesome deity vettudaiyar kaali temple,inside of the temple nice maintenance but ouside area not organized and proper, temple's whole wall scratches and written very messy which makes destroy the whole era...temple pond has nice view but should need maintenance more... Car parking available it's massive place cost around 50rupees... Toilet available but need more hygienic condition. Highly recommend this temple for personal deity prayers and religion practices.

Kollangudi Vettudaikaliamman Temple is a must-visit holy place in South Tamil Nadu. My mom and I had a wonderful experience here. The temple is located just 13 km from Sivagangai, and there are frequent buses from both Sivagangai and Kalayarkovil, making it easily accessible. One of the best things is the availability of free parking for both bikes and cars, which is very convenient. We visited on a non-full moon day and could easily have darshan without any need for special tickets. However, on full moon days, the temple sees a large crowd as it's considered an auspicious day, and people even stay overnight to attend early morning darshan. There are plenty of shops nearby to grab a bite or do some shopping, and the restrooms are well-maintained. Although the temple is currently under construction, it still retains its charm and spiritual essence. Overall, it's a peaceful and divine place that I highly recommend visiting!

Very ancient and powerful temple that fulfils devotees’ wishes. For people facing problems due to unfair enmity, you can pray here. Prayers will be answered if justice is on your side and enemy will be punished but in case your prayer is unjustifiable and you are not the victim, the prayer’s effect will be reversed and you will be unjustified instead. Car parking is available here and temple is well maintained.

First time experience, positive vibes and divine.

Very powerful God , mostly people come here to put their problems before Goddess and ask for help. All flowers and fruits for archan must be bought in the main road itself. Special entrance ticket is Rs.20 and car parking ticket is Rs.30. It is believed that the God/Goddess here will solve all the problems put to them, and I have personally experienced the same.

Its one of the Lovely church in the south India., what an amazing architecture of this 100+ years old church and unbelievable statues inside and outside the church. Church is maintained very well and gives mind relaxation once you enter in. First Friday of every month is quite famous and many people used to visit for mass and followed by free food. One of my favorite church and love to visit frequently.

The Sacred Heart Church is an ancient church built in Gothic architectural style situated at Idaikattur, in Sivagangai District of Tamilnadu. It is about 36 km from Madurai and in close proximity to the National Highway leading to Rameshwaram from Madurai. This unique church of the sacred heart of Jesus was built in 1894 AD by a French missionary Fr. Ferdinand Celle SJ. This is a replica of the Rheims Cathedral in FranceIdaikattur Church is an architectural marvel. It is distinctive with its French style of Gothic architecture and its high vaulted roof supported by columns with cantilevers. The windows are adorned with small brick pillars with hollow flower bricks and stained glass which illustrate the events of the way of the cross vividly and skillfully. And since the church is located in an area where the climate is tropical, the hollow bricks have been artfully used reduce the heat. The gothic arches are festooned with rows of beads, flowers, garlands which are fabricated from terracotta.The main altar of the church is its most alluring feature. Its gothic façade which is of around 45 feet is consisted of God holding his son Jesus by his hand and Holy Spirit along with angels surrounding him. The altar here depicts the Christian doctrine – Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. The church also showcase exquisite stucco work, figures of saints, angels, St. Joseph, mother of sorrows and many others. Amazing examples of French art work can also be seen here. Visited the Devipattinam Navagraha (Navapashanam) Temple, which is located in the sea.. a truly unique and peaceful place. The temple doesn’t have a building…instead, the nine Navagraha stones are set right in the water and are believed to have been installed by Lord Rama himself before he went to Lanka, after performing a pooja here. You usually walk through the shallow water to see them, but during our visit, due to high tide, no one was allowed to go inside as the water level was high. Those who experience it say it feels very special and spiritual. It’s calm, quiet, and gives a unique, relaxed feeling by the seashore. Parking is available (₹40), and you can complete the darshan in about 15–20 minutes. Definitely a must-visit spot near Rameswaram for its unique setting and spiritual energy.

Just be ready to get your feet wet, and soak in the mix of mythology, nature, and devotion — a must-visit if you’re exploring around Ramanathapuram or Rameswaram 🛕💙. I had a relaxed feel being on the sea shore at a quiet place.

This was the first temple I saw only with the Navagraham. I shocked. At present it has only 5 out of 9 navagraha statues. It was a blissful place with sea breeze. Great view. I liked it.

It is one of the most important Shiv temples of Bharat. It is believed that it is the first Shiv temple of the world. Another important aspect is the huge Nataraj vigrah which is housed in a separate sanctum. It is wonderful. It is difficult to imagine how an intricate one piece idol from Emerald would have sculpted. This idol is covered with sandal throughout the year. Only once in a year during arudra darshan festival in Nov Dec the old chandan is removed and new chandan is coated. At that time only one can see the uncoated form of Nataraj. The temple has beautiful colourful gopuram. There is quite a hustle outside temple with shops and parking space. Interiors of the temple are painted well.

Temple was recently renovated and kumbabishekam just got over... Thalampoo _ Pandanus odorifer is the main flower offered to Lord Shiva... Its available near the temple for cost of rs.300_400.

A Spiritually Enriching Visit to One of the Oldest Shiva Temples – Uthirakosamangai This was our first visit to Uthirakosamangai Temple, and it was truly a spiritually fulfilling experience. We had been planning to visit this ancient temple for several months, and fortunately, a couple of days’ break gave us the perfect opportunity to finally make the trip. Also known as Mangalanatha Swamy Temple, this historic site is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located in Ramanathapuram district, Tamil Nadu. It is believed to be one of the earliest Shiva temples in existence, rich in history, legends, and deep spiritual energy. One of the temple's main attractions is the 6-foot-tall Maragatha Nataraja idol, carved entirely out of emerald (maragatham)—a truly rare and priceless representation of Lord Shiva in his cosmic dance form. Most of the year, this sacred idol is kept covered in sandalwood paste, and it is revealed to the public only once a year during the Arudra Darshan festival. The temple is also associated with a unique and powerful lingam called the Sahasralingam—a representation of 1000 lingams in one single structure, created as a tribute to 999 sages who, according to legend, offered their lives in devotion to Lord Shiva. A Glimpse into the Temple’s Mythology According to temple lore, Lord Shiva once appeared in Ravana’s palace as a child with a small wound. When Ravana tried to pick up the child, a fireball emerged from the temple pond (Agni Theertham). Fearing it was Shiva's wrath, 999 sages sacrificed themselves by jumping into the fire. One sage stayed back to protect the sacred scriptures, and Shiva, pleased with his devotion, appeared as the Sahasralingam. That lone sage is believed to have been reborn as the revered saint Manikkavacakar, who also has a special lingam dedicated to him within the temple. The temple’s name, Uthirakosamangai, signifies the place where Lord Shiva shared sacred knowledge with Goddess Parvati, making it an important center for both devotion and divine wisdom. Our Experience We visited the temple in the evening, and since the temple had recently undergone Kumbhabhishekam (consecration ceremony), it was quite crowded with devotees from nearby towns and villages. Despite the crowd, the experience was serene and well-organized. We could still see the Yaga Kundams (ritual fire altars) used during the ceremony, which added to the divine atmosphere. A highlight of our visit was seeing the ancient 3000-year-old Jujube (Elanthai) tree, which is believed to hold spiritual significance. This temple is also said to grant moksha (spiritual liberation) to 1000 Shiva devotees, further reinforcing its importance in Hindu belief and worship. Final Thoughts This temple is not just a place of worship—it’s a treasure trove of history, mythology, and divine presence. The architecture, the legends, and the spiritual ambiance make it a must-visit for Shiva devotees and anyone interested in ancient temples of India. If you're in or around Ramanathapuram, or planning a trip to southern Tamil Nadu, I highly recommend visiting Uthirakosamangai. The location of the resort is excellent, close to the Ariyaman Beach. However, the overall maintenance of the property is quite poor. The swimming pool was dirty, and the mini waterfalls were surrounded by an unclean environment. The garden area also lacked proper upkeep. While the food served was decent, the dining and common areas were not well-maintained. The kids' play area had broken rides, making it unsafe and unappealing for children. On a positive note, Mr. Iyappa was very courteous and took good care of us. He even offered small gifts to our kids, which we appreciated. The pricing was reasonable, but the resort desperately needs better maintenance to match its potential and location.

After dhanushakodi, this is the most famous beach in rameshwaram. You can reach here with your car. Highly recommended. You can enjoy a meal at kadal virundhu family sea food restaurant. They serve authentic sea food. Must try their combo.

Thanks to my friend, who is a local and also serves as a temple guide, I was able to experience a beautiful and seamless VIP-level darshan. Overall, it was one of the most soul-stirring and serene spiritual experiences I’ve ever had. A must-visit for anyone seeking divine energy and inner calm.

Ramanathan Swamy temple is one of the most oldests and beautifully architectured Jyotirlinga. It is situated at the southernmost part of india, connected with another gorgeous place that one couldnot afford to miss i.e. The Dhanushkodi. Lots of Hotels are available in the 1.5km radius of the Temple. One should directly come to the temple area from Rameshwaram Junction. General darshan is free but sometimes ask patience. If you could afford 100rs for Special darshan your time will be saved and you can see the other places around. If you coming for more than 2 days then you have well enough time to enjoy the bhakti of people in general darshan. Take extra set of clothes while going for bath in the 22 kunds. You can change the clothes in the changing rooms available or in wrost at any of the corner where everyone is changing. Then come to the darshan line in your white shiny dhoti to blend well with the vibe and atmosphere. According to me 02 days are required to enjoy the Rameshwaram temple (darshan+ shopping) and all the 12 nearby places including Dhanushkodi. This place is overall package, a deadly combination of Spirituality, historicalness and senic beauty of Southern India. Har Har Mahadev 🙏.

The temple is truly beautiful and our experience was peaceful and spiritually uplifting. The temple has four gates, and the main entry for darshan is through the East Gate. Don’t miss the Mani Darshan that happens between 5–6 AM, it’s absolutely divine. It’s best to stay close to the temple since there are plenty of accommodation options nearby. Visiting during winter is ideal, as the weather is pleasant and not too humid.

There is also changing place . So that you can do darshan after the snan . Bcoz they won't allow for darshan in wet clothes. Take mobile at your own risk . Agni Theertham is a sacred spot and worth visiting for its spiritual importance. But if you’re thinking of taking a full dip, I wouldn’t suggest it. The water is quite dirty, and even locals advised us not to bathe there. It’s better to take a few drops in your hand and offer it respectfully. Yes, many people still bathe there, but the overall cleanliness is poor. On top of that, the crowd is intense, and there are animals roaming around, which makes the area feel chaotic and unhygienic. A meaningful place to visit, but not the right spot for a safe or clean bath.

Clean sea, can take bath peacefully. Can get crowded during the season. Search for a hotel with walkable distance if you're traveling with a small group. Either you may go to hotel to change or visit the temple for 22 wells bath from here.

Obviously clean sea water but very poor management of this Holi heritage site… beach should be clean.. which wasn’t…I wasn’t expecting this type of beach… govt should take mandatory steps towards this.. why only Goa, Pondi, Mumbai beaches should hv all the fun and attraction.. India is such a beautiful country and can generate a huge amount of revenue if they manage tourism well. And especially these holy places must be taken care of. I saw bed mattress, diapers, pillows floating🙄🙄in sea water .. God knows what else is there.. but I have only nice pics, which I am posting here..but evening and night walk was the best part here… at night waves, moon, moonlight, cool wind create another level of peace and beauty 🥰

One of the first places to visit while visiting the Swamy Temple. First take a bath at the sea at Agni Teertham. It's clean and maintained. After that take a bath with the well water and then after changing clothes visit the temple. This is the process. You have to go by walk as vehicles are not allowed and it's hardly 200 metres from the road (from temple) Agni Tirtham is one of the Tirthas of Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, India. The beach east of Ramanathaswamy Temple is known by this name. This Tirtham is one of the most visited Tirthams of Rameswaram for a holy bath.

Must visit when in Rameshwaram. One of the most Sacred beaches. It is believed that one should take a bath in Agniteertham first and then to the 22 wells near the Rameshwar temple so as to let go of the sins.

It was a nice sunrise and sunset experience. Not exceptional but pleasant. Bathing here was reasonably facilitated by the steps into the water which is not very deep so you have to nearly kneel to cover yourself from head to toe. Coffee sellers start from sunrise. Walking to East Gate is quick and can also walk (while wet) to North Gate for the next step of 22 wells/teertham bathing from the other end but takes longer. Might be easiest just to walk to East Gate and walk around to the North. Can find mobile/bag/shoes lockers at all gates. Lots of people take their dry clothes in tightly sealed bags so you can change after the wells (Rs 25 per person) Supposed to be mostly dry to do Darshan. Changing area for women is private but open air so plan accordingly. Lots of people stay in hotels nearby so they just change in their rooms. There are places with sign boards for changing nearby if you don't like the changing facilities in the temple. You can change and then go for the Darshan. Normal Darshan line / Rs 100 / Rs 200 just changes speed. Take a look at the length of the line. Weekends and special holidays are busiest. Later in the afternoon or weekdays it's relatively quiet. A small ferry takes you out around the bay. No views of Sri Lanka!

Nearby to station and triveni sangam. No ticket required. Bag and mobile allowed but not photo shot allowed inside the house.

It was crowded when i visited on a weekend. Not a suitable place for a peaceful getaway. Mobile networks are mostly not available so its always advisable to carry cash in hand if you want to buy something from there

I loved visiting Dhanushkodi Beach — it’s peaceful and stunning, with clear waters and cool winds. Standing at the edge where the land ends felt magical and calming, a perfect spot to just relax

One of the most beautiful and unique beaches I’ve visited. The drive up to Dhanushkodi is stunning, with the sea on both sides of the road. The beach itself is clean, peaceful, and has an almost surreal feel with the ruins nearby. The water is clear, the breeze is refreshing, and it’s a perfect spot to just stand and take it all in. But sadly, people/tourists have made it dirty with plastic etc. littered everywhere.

It was an extremely windy day, with finest sand on the road and water being whipped with the surf. Memorable drive of around 10 km. Its a part of biosphere reserve and was horrified to see so many road side food stalls right at the edge of the location. I wish authorities did not allow them in the first place. You can easily spend up to 2 hours. Entry is 20 rupees and it's closed at 6 pm.

A must visit place for travellers coming to Rameshwaram. This road to this beach is quite scenic and the beach itself looks amazing. You can also jump into the water and have a quick dip here. Dhanushkodi is calm and beautiful, with sea on both sides and a long straight road. The drive itself is the best part—clean water, strong wind, peaceful vibe. Nothing much to do, just a place to feel the atmosphere and take photos. Go early morning or after 4 pm to avoid the heat. Worth a visit for the experience.

Amazing place to visit and also sad to see how everything got destroyed in the cyclone. A must visit place when going to Dhanushkodi. Lot of sea shell shops and good place to stop for sea food. It's really cheap and amazing taste. A nice quite beach shore to just walk around.
