Anse Mitan is a picturesque bayside beach that attracts many tourists with its nearby bars, restaurants, and shops. The beach itself is just 260 meters long, making it perfect for spending leisurely days lounging in the sand and enjoying meals at the nearby villa patios or Village Creole's restaurants. Additionally, visitors can easily access the Pointe du Bout marina within a short walk to take ferries to Fort-de-France or join various boat excursions.
Lovely beach in the Trois Islets area of Martinique. We took a water taxi from just outside the cruise port to Pont Boit and walked about 10 minutes to get there (though there is a direct one too). Soft, clean sand, calm water and a few beachside bars. Very nice indeed.

Nice restaurants and boutiques. Many rental car companies to choose from. Not much provisioning options. Solid dinghy dock.

Make sure to go snorkeling to the northern side of the beach (but watch out for the boats). We saw two lionfishes, they were majestic. The beach is nothing special in other regards, a little too popular compared to what it offers.

Musée La Pagerie - Lieu de naissance de l'impératrice Joséphine de Beauharnais

Mentioned on

History museum
Museums
Musée La Pagerie - Lieu de naissance de l'impératrice Joséphine de Beauharnais is a museum located in the former sugar estate where Josephine, who later became Empress Josephine of Napoleon, was born. The stone building on the property houses personal items such as a marriage certificate and love letters from Napoleon. It also displays historical artifacts and old equipment from its days as a sugar mill.
Historic building in beautifully kept grounds. If you are interested in the Napoleonic era it’s a must. There isn’t a huge amount to see but the atmosphere tells its own story. Personally I think the description of the slavery era should be more detailed- tell the full story.
Brian L — Google review
Excellent cultural and learning experience for a small price. Meticulously kept grounds and very friendly greetings. Interesting to see the sugar making infrastructure still standing and learn about the life of Josephine. English assistance available.
Graeme R — Google review
It is a very small place with no English at all. So, it is not worth it to go. We asked the receptionist to talk us through to understand the story behind it. Sam was incredibly helpful and nice.
Arroma1990 — Google review
Really enjoyed our visit. When we toured we were the only people onsite, perfect timing for us. The front desk/guide lady knew so much of the history and spoke to us in English, we understand we are in France and understand and speak french as best we can but it’s all spoken so fast, understanding is difficult while we are still learning, so we really did appreciated her taking the time to help us. Maybe just an English leaflet would help some people, I have seen on other sites they complain about there being no English. I preferred it the way is was, made us concentrate when reading the language. Beautiful buildings and terrible reminder of how cruel the conditions of the slaves were back then and the value on their heads. Really good value for €4 each, how can you complain when you pay so little.
Darren R — Google review
Note that all info is in French, so expect to use a translate app. Also note the main house is gone, only small museum that has very high summary (such as she met Napoleon - how? what did they possible have in common? etc).
Ed B — Google review
A nice visit of Josephines place, Napoleon’s first wife. Small but beautiful museum. The history of Martinique and Josephines is nicely summarized.
Ines B — Google review
Small and nice place with informative panels of the future Imperatrice days. The Main house is just marqued by base stones. The only restaured house is the kitchen, which is now turned out into a slavery exibition museum.
Krasimira A — Google review
If you appreciate history, this museum is a hidden gem on this Caribbean island! Linking europe with the new world, this place carried itself throughout the pages of history. A special thanks to the curators and workers for keeping this place alive and convivial!

History Museums
La Savane des Esclaves is a historical museum located in Les Trois-Ilets, Martinique. The site features a re-created 'free' village of former enslaved people from around 1800. Gilbert Larose, the creator, has a deep fascination with his ancestors who were 'Neg'Marrons,' enslaved individuals who escaped plantations to live freely off the land.
We loved our visit though it was intense. The site is so beautiful and it does truth telling of the ugly colonial past. The message of the founder is one of reconciliation. As a visitor to Martinique it really helped me connect with the deeper layers of its history.
Samantha S — Google review
We left the exhibition a bit underwhelmed. While we can appreciate the work that was put in, the visit was a bit disappointing, and lacked sufficient details. The gardens were lovely though, but very steep and didn't offer much shade. We also noticed that they were no benches to sit on. Overall, we feel like the price may be too high for what you actually get. (12 euros/ person)
William F — Google review
Though staying much further north, we visited this museum on the recommendation of our hotelier. It was a moving and very informative visit, and I was surprised the tranquility in the gardens. The introductory video is a must. Presented by the founder of the museum, it provides a clear explanation of the history of the people and immigrants who came to Martinique, the history of slavery and life after slavery. In fact, it is a foundation for everything that follows. Everything is presented in French and English, including very clear subtitles on the video. Give yourself at least 90 minutes to visit here. Walk around the site brings the video to life, and the gardens themselves are beautiful. Very welcoming staff. Don't miss this experience!! Thank you.
Caroline W — Google review
Amazing museum to visit, with great history lessons. Friendly and professional staffs, the owner is outgoing, friendly and professional.
Tania C — Google review
A must have for those who want to know the history of Martinique. We spent here 2,5 hours. I recommend you start with a video which is shown every 15-20 min. It will give you a good overview as well as the context. It was much easier to later explore the expositions, knowing what part of history it was related to. Definitely read all those billboards. They have fascinating facts, really interesting. Be aware, that there's no internet connection. Their WiFi is not working, as well as there's no cellular data. Both of my SIM cards (local and a foreign one) had no connection. So if you come with someone else, agree on the meeting point. PS: All info is available in both French and English languages. Video is in French, but has English subtitles.
Inna G — Google review
We totally recommend this place. La Savane des Esclaves is very beautiful and well maintained place. It combines slavery museum with tropical garden and village of Carib Indians and houses used after abolition of slavery. You will gain a lot of information and you will be amazed by beautiful nature. Don't forget to get a drink from fresh fruits. Check the opening hours and enjoy the beautiful road here as well.
Martina J — Google review
Nice place to visit and know about Martinique first inhabitants and slaves. I think the introduction video could be a bit shorter and more interactive. Otherwise, great place, nice flora, the ice creams are good.
Aurelie P — Google review
Really good, nice place of Martinique history. There is a video in the beginning about Martinique, plantage etc…alot of exhibitions- the housing, gardens, medical garden etc. We had a chance to see one traditional performance, dance in the place aswell.

Piton Creve-Coeur offers a relatively short ascent of about 2 kilometers round trip, taking around 1 hour to complete. The climb is physically demanding due to high and repetitive steps, but it's manageable by pacing oneself. Despite the challenge, it's accessible for families. The panoramic view at the top is described as sublime and worth the effort, with hikers recommending bringing water and a hat for the journey.
Wonderful little trail, quite a bit hidden and only reachable by car. The ascent is well worth your time as the views are spectacular. Bring durable shoes though and enough water!

Anse Noire is a captivating black-sand beach nestled in a snug inlet, attracting scuba divers and snorkelers with its calm waters and vibrant marine life. Visitors can rent canoes for picturesque coastal voyages or descend 156 steps to reach the volcanic shore. Surrounded by lush palm trees and rocky slopes, this secluded beach offers a wild ambiance, making it an essential stop for those seeking an authentic tropical experience.
A fantastic little bay in which to anchor. Can get busy but on a quiet day is so tranquil. A black sand beach and fantastic snorkeling with turtles.
Steve B — Google review
A pretty spot with a long stairway down to the water. There is a kayak rental place. The day we were there, the water was unfortunately murky and dirty, and full of jelly fish.
Carrie — Google review
Beautiful beach! Few fishes around but we didn't see any turtles. There were absolutely loads of little stingers in the ocean.. Particularly bad each side of the bay by the rocks with all the fish. Not sure if its seasonal but weren't aware at all of it. Anse dufour, the beach on the other side had a couple but nowhere near as many! Just beware!!!
Sarah S — Google review
I strongly do NOT recommend this beach. It looks intimate and there’s not as much people as in Anse Dafour but that’s probably because it’s dirty - feces included. The water is not as clear as in other bays nearby and the beach is stony. There’s no proper car park near so the road is crowded - you have to leave the car far away and go down in full sun. After being disgusted by the beach and going back to car - be prepare for a very long hot walk uphill without any shade. The worst beach in Martinique I have been to so far.
Zuzia N — Google review
Beautiful! The black sand glitters in the sun, what a spectacle. There are steps to go down to the beach, between 5-10 mins.
Paola M — Google review
Amazing beach. It's the little sibling of Anse Doufur, but with black sand. You will find shade but not in the afternoon because the sun sets directly in front of the beach. Sometimes you can see turtles here as well, and there is a livelier underwater scene than in Anse Dufour. Make sure to check out the pelicans and the way they fish!
Bálint M — Google review
Ok you have to go their, but please, take a trash bag and take all as much as you can all the stuff on floor or in the water. Tourists/local are pigs and unrespectful. The worse is the boats guys. They come in bay with motor, stopping as close as possible, afraiding the fish. Come before 9am (time of boats coming) or you will see almost nothing. The local government definitely has to strict rules for those stupid guys

Woooow! What a stunning beach and sunset! Parking there for 4.80€ and Food, Restautants, Snackbars. If you walk on right hand side, you will find the ‘Hotel’ and a more calmer and clean space (where I was) - definitely worth it!

This idyllic spot features swaying palm trees and azure blue waters, making it perfect for relaxation.
Wow. Great snorkeling over a small reef with many fish. Then we found the turtles. Fantastic. Two points, it gets busy and you have to park on the hill side road approaching the beach. It's a long walk back. But it is worth it. A must do
Adrian H — Google review
Enjoyed a lovely day at the beach with fine sand and crystal clear water! There are plenty of shops, restaurants and public toilets around. A public parking lot is available for the maximum of 12 €/day.
Sándor P — Google review
One of my top spots in Martinique. If you are visiting in high season, then you should go as early as possible as this is a small beach. Get lost snorkeling in coral area on the right side, with plenty of sealife, sponges, chimneys... also a lot of turtles. Please do not disturb the turtles (and sea life), we are in the invaders in this natural spot, just observe and enjoy. Unluckily tourism has made an impact and there are not as many turtles as it should be.
Jesus M — Google review
Nice beach, not toooo busy if you get there before midday. Visibility for snorkelling is pretty good, much better than anse noire. Saw a turtle!!! Very shallow.. Lots of fishes! Beware of stingers, theres a few and can be a bit of a surprise if you're not expecting it. Free parking if you can find a space!
Sarah S — Google review
We saw a sea turtle here in early afternoon on two different days. It’s a beautiful little cove with less of a climb down than Anse Noir. There were jellyfish in the water the second time we were there. Parking can be rough.
Carrie — Google review
Five stars for the opportunity to see green turtles, don't come to the beach without a snorkel gear! Sad however that many tourists does'nt follow the rules and respect the turtles privacy. Beside the snorkel, there is not much too it, the beach is small and I have seen better ones on the island. Resturants available, parking can sometimes be a nightmare.

Free admission. Free parking. Short walk thru different ecosystems that Martinique has... High tide and low tide are 2 different experiences when visited. beautiful at sunset. Not crowded.

Plage des Salines, located about two miles south of Sainte-Anne in Martinique, is a stunning beach known for its long stretch of fine white sand and clear blue waters. The beach is lined with a shady coconut grove and offers a picturesque setting that attracts both locals and tourists. It can get busy on weekends, but visiting during the week or early in the morning allows for a more tranquil experience.
Wide long beach with typical Caribbean ambience, lots of wildlife too with touloulou crabs and birdlife. I’d say go towards the western end but it’s a matter of opinion really. Can get busy.

🚨 BEWARE 🚨 - Drive your own/rented car here just as we did. In the case of transport by taxi, local drivers are nasty and can charge as much as 25 Euro. Loooong and famous, sandy Martinique beach with palm trees and no rocks or algae. Just remember one thing to do when the sea tide is low. Otherwise, there won't be any beach left, since the seawater goes all the way up to the trees. Also, generally, restaurants are open just till 3 PM / 15:00.
Mirosław D — Google review
One of the most spectacular beaches on the island. Many spots where you can get a coconut from which you can drink natural coconut water straight from the fruit. One downside, after 5 PM, small flies appear, their bite are not frendly. 🥹However, you can enjoy a stunning sunset from the sunbed.
Loredana L — Google review
This is one of the best beaches in the entire Caribbean. Being on a french island, it doesn't appear in any ranking because most Americans don't end up here. It's a very long, sandy beach with shallow water. Being so big and remote, it never feels busy. You have a big selection of restaurants where you can eat. There's plenty of shade under the trees. If you arrive early, like before 10AM, you can snap some amazing photos.
Dan S — Google review
We visited couple of beaches in Martinique but absolutely recommend this one. It’s Caraibean picture perfect, long enough not to feel crowded and it has showers! Plus some restaurants to eat. All you need is to find a good spot at palm trees shadow and sunscreen.
Andreea M — Google review
A very pretty, Long Beach. It is more crowded than some of the northern and/or less easily accessible beaches. Come early to get a good spot in the shade. The sand gets very hot to the touch at this beach. There are plenty of little snack restaurants/bars, but they close around 16:00. I walked to the end of the beach and continued into the woods. There are some small, more deserted patches of beach along the path, however I should note they have more nudity than the main beach does! Still highly recommend the walk.

Amazing place with amazing people. Definitely the best kite school in the Caribbean! And if you looking for the Caribbean vibe, look no further. Simon and his crew are very welcoming and will do their best to ensure you get the best out of your vacation.

Simon is a great guy who really takes care of his guests. He knows the best kite-spots depending on wind direction and has very useful advice even when you don‘t take lessons. Insight into the life on the island, the culture and the best food places made my stay interesting and joyfull. So, definitely a recommendation from my side. I had one week of great kitesurfing and fun on this beautiful island.

Simon, Ron and Laura are running great kitesurfing school in St Lucia Cotton Bay. These guys are excellent instructors and location cannot be any better. I would highly recommend this place to beginners as well as advanced riders. This was my first time in St Lucia and cannot wait to go back !!!

I had a pleasure taking 2 lessons from Simon. I had a little experience kiteboarding before. Simon helped me quickly refresh my memory and skills so by the end of first lesson I was able to stand up on the board. Learning with him was fun and gave me a sense of improvement.

I took 3 1hour lessons over two days with both Simon (the owner) and Ron (instructor)...had an amazing time! Both guys are super knowledgable, skilled, and professional. They conduct lessons with the use of jetski support...so your instructor is always close by on the water and available to assist with board retrieval, rescue, or just general tips to improve your riding. My riding progressed quickly in the three lessons due to the 100% water time teaching methods here...would recommend them anytime!!!

Saint Lucia National Trust is an organization focused on preserving the natural and cultural heritage of the island. It offers visitors the opportunity to learn about local conservation efforts and contribute through volunteer work or donations. The trust oversees Pigeon Island National Park, a northern gem featuring 18th-century Fort Rodney, military remnants, and stunning views of Martinique from Signal Hill.
Nice hike $10 each. Great beach also so bring/ wear your suit. Right next to sandals you can park right at the gate entrance if you come early like 10 am is perfect we walked around and saw the old structures and peaks for about an hour and a half and we’re ready to sit and relax on the beach. Plenty of bathrooms as well which was nice for a beach
Kate S — Google review
Worth a visit if you are in the northern part of the island! Costs $10 to enter which will allow you to learn about the history of Fort Rodney and enjoy walking around the national park. There are great views to be had by following one of the well marked trails available.

If you are visiting northern tip of St. Lucia then do visit this amazing place to hike to ; 1) fort Rodney - lit of history 2) Signal peak - to see the 360 degree view of the surroundings: Carribbean sea, Atlantic ocean separated by pigeon island causeway And 3) Enjoy a swim in the pristine water of the beach inside the national park
Su C — Google review
Wow. Only $10 to get in. Nice piece of history with shaded walking trails. Lots of restrooms. Definitely walk the hike up to Fort Rodney. One of the best views on the island. This place is way more enjoyable than the hot, crowded beach outside the park.
Capt. N — Google review
Beautifully preserved park with very interesting history. We enjoyed spending the day here and had a blast exploring and chilling on the beach. Staff were super nice, entrance is very affordable, chair rentals are dirt cheap. Got to meet the “hustler” (unfortunately refused to sell his “everyday I am hustling shirt”) selling booze from his boat, he might want to update his music album but overall not bad, nice guy all things considered…. Got semi loaded on his questionable mixing skills and found (I think, could’ve been a dream) a golden ring snorkelling. Can’t ask for much more from this life.
Alexander D — Google review
I love this totally unspoilt, non-commercial part of the island. The views are outstanding. We paid our $10 to enter the national park and stayed there most of the day. We walked up to both peaks, read all the historical notes, sat in the park and spent time on the 'private' beach. It is a bit of a climb but doable for most able-bodied people, I'd say. Beautiful, uncrowded and peaceful.
Deb L — Google review
I drove my rental car, which was about a 10 min drive from our hotel near Reduit Beach. It was $10 US per adult. We walk the grounds, went to the top of the fort, which is a nice hike. Then we spent the day at the beach inside the park. The water is calm and so clear! It was a nice visit! I am glad I didn’t book a tour. Not sure there’s enough to do for a tour.
Kim S — Google review
Incredible views of Rodney Bay with informative displays along trails. I was getting married the following day and hiking everything quickly during fiancé’s hair appointment. There are steep stair and rocky sections near the fort and at the signal peak. It would be challenging for anyone unfamiliar with that type of trail. I was particularly amazed by the wide variety of plant life and spectacular blooms on that June afternoon. I highly recommend.

Bay
Nature & Parks
Rodney Bay is a picturesque destination located in the north-west of St. Lucia, featuring a large bay with a beautiful white-sand beach and a bustling marina with yacht docks. Visitors can enjoy leisurely sails and explore nearby islands while using Rodney Bay as their base. The area offers upscale restaurants, glossy duty-free shops, and a water park for entertainment.
If you have watched Below Deck you have already been here without realizing it. Those sparkling shots of the marina are Rodney Bay with Captain Glenn sliding the boat in like he is docking a spaceship, gold shipwreck coin necklace catching the sun like a Caribbean pirate who traded his cutlass for Ray-Bans. Walk the docks and you will spot yachts that look like they cost more than small countries. Some of them have actually been on the show. The real trick is you can do Rodney Bay without the TV budget. Here is how Morning: Coffee and pastries at Café Olé in the marina while crews do their morning rinse downs like a choreographed dance. Afternoon: Hop on a catamaran tour. Pick the one with the happiest bartender. They will take you up the coast to Pigeon Island and maybe drop anchor for a swim in water so clear it looks fake. Evening: Seafood at Spinnakers on the beach. Try the tuna and ignore the tourist prices because the view is worth it. Late night: Gros Islet Friday street party with local rum, grilled fish, and music that rattles your bones. This is where Below Deck would fade to black because what happens here does not make it past the editing room. Rodney Bay is the kind of place where you can sip champagne with the yacht crowd or drink Piton beer on the sand and feel just as rich. If you see Captain Glenn tell him the necklace still works and it is part of the scenery now.

We enjoyed our time up at Rodney Bay. We were lucky to have our house right on the water and these were some of our views. Nice marina, didn't seem to have a lot of crazy traffic. Did the Friday night street party which was a lot of fun and great that there are water taxis available to get you to and from. Better than tipsy driving. We enjoyed the Rodney Bay area the most while visiting the island.

Great beach. Lovely sea but can become overcrowded especially when cruise ships are in. Beach traders are a little too persistent for my liking. Bed and parasol can be expensive.

The park features obstacle courses such as trampolines, climbing walls, slides, swings, and more. Lifeguards are present to ensure safety while visitors enjoy the various activities offered at the largest open-water sports park in the Caribbean.
Lots of fun for all. Can arrange through a trip on the cruise ship but we just got a taxi to the beach and paid when we got there. About £15 each and you get an hour

We (2 adults) had fun on this water park! We paid at the kiosk on the day, card is accepted. We had to watch a safety video and life jackets are mandatory. The inflatables are German designed and well maintained. We felt very safe. The lifeguards were really helpful at showing me how to conquer some of the more challenging sections, and one even offered to catapult us off the inflatable pillow. You can hire a locker for a 10ECD refundable deposit which I appreciated. I’d recommend this to kids and adults alike!

Me and some friends tried out the water park for our very first time last week . When we arrived we were given a lunch table and umbrella . After we were settled they quickly geared us up and gave everyone information needed to use the park our time limit etc . I had to say we really had fun adults and kids . It really is an experience for all families I would recommend anyone to this park and for sure we will be back . Shout out the life guards and staff at the beach everyone helped ensure everyone was safe and secured .

Have you ever wanted to compete on American Ninja Warrior? This is your chance! For a reasonable hourly fee you can test your athleticism in a fair amount of obstacles in the water park. Be mindful you should have a fair amount of upper body strength and good balance to have an enjoyable time. After 45 minutes I was spent. Park had a lot of age ranges of people so I did have a short wait for a few activities. I would say the best age range would be 10-45 years old and be in really good physics strength. And, if you drive yourself then park at Spinnakers. It’s a large free parking lot and only a 5 minute walk.
Jerry R — Google review
Fun, very enjoyable, kids loved it. Everyone in the park is required to wear a life vest regardless of swimming ability. Life guard is on duty when it's open, but the kids did not like the guard cause they blame her for falling back do the slide(they perception). Great value if it's included in vacation package.

The beach provides calm waters for swimming and is perfect for families with small children. The water is warm and it’s beautiful here. It’s about 10USD to rent chairs, but the guys renting them called us names when we chose not to. People do come up often trying to sell stuff. A great variety of restaurants nearby, especially spinamakers. The splash pad down the beach is also incredibly fun! Definitely a good visit.

Spinnakers sits to the right of this entrance. It's about 7-10usd to rent chairs/daybeds. The water is beautiful and clear. Safe beach. Water is calm and cool. Plenty parking. Bring a cooler and enjoy. One of the best sunsets Ive ever seen!

Great watersports offers (ring (USD 15pp), jetski (ECD 200), a waterpark (USD15pp ph), chairs are USD10 BUT! the vendors are incredibly agressive and a simple "no thank you" is not enough, so it's very uncomfortable. The swimming area is also very small.

Reduit Beach is a great beach. The water was clean and calm, and we were able to rent chairs and umbrellas. They had people who would come right up to the beach to take food and drink orders, so we didn’t even have to leave the sand.

Visited this beach in August multiple times. It’s very clean, the water is always a great temperature, and it has a undefeated view of the sunset and island. There are plenty of paid activities to book. It’s in a great location, and easily accessible from the Rodney Bay strip. There’s plenty of parking, yet it’s never overcrowded. The salesmen on the beach frequent often to rent chairs/umbrellas, sell bracelets, food, and drinks. They’re respectful and will move on if you tell them you’re not interested. It’s easy to spend an entire day here and not get bored. Perfect for any kind of crowd: couples, families, etc. The best part is the sunset. Even when the sun goes down you’ll find it’s still quite lively with local fishers and dining tourists.

Loved this place! Our family did the hike, tram, and zip line adventure, and it was perfect! The zip line was so much fun, great for beginners or experienced zippers. The tram was an unexpected highlight, it was so calming and beautiful, and our guide Junior shared so a many fun facts! We highly recommend going here while in St Lucia.

What a wonderful experience! It's definitely a must in Saint Lucia. The zip line through the rainforest was so cool, we felt safe throughout. Our guides were professional and funny at the same time. Between platforms we hiked and at the same time our guide was telling us interesting facts about the flora. After the zip line we did the aerial tram, a much more relaxed experience and with breathtaking views, especially on your way down at higher altitude. Highly recommended

Would recommend for anyone looking to enjoy the incredible beauty of the island and have a fun day!

Took a ride on the guided cable cars through the rain forest. Our guide was so informative about the local wildlife and fauna, It was a amazing to listen & look at what was around us. You could hardly feel you were moving, which made the ride a pleasure. We went on Easter Sunday. The bank holiday was surprisingly quiet, but it was going into the dry season.

It was wonderful. I went with a tour guide and I took the tram ride into the rainforest. My guide, Chelsea was so professional and knowledgeable about the fauna and flora and also about the history of the forest. I did not know that there had been a Rastafari community living there for 12 years! We had a downpour during the ride which added to the magic. I would highly recommend it as an experience to have while in St Lucia.

We visited in August with a reservation for a bird watching tour. It was an enjoyable experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate throughout, he was very accommodating and made great company. It’s a beautiful way to enjoy an early morning on the island. Bring water and insect repellent for a comfortable hike. If you’re lucky you’ll spot an invisible frog 🐸

Zip lining was nice experience but would have preferred less back and fourth over the river (those 3 in a row seemed a bit samey like we are getting from A-b. Good energy from the guides and felt super safe. Heard some negatives about tree tops so really happy we chose here, felt safe and had a good time. I think the 2 long lines could be connected together - that would be cool!

Castries Central Market is a vibrant hub for local vendors selling handmade crafts and fresh produce, including native fruits such as guavas, mangoes, coconuts and bananas. The market's bustling atmosphere is at its peak on Saturday mornings when farmers bring their spices and harvests to sell. It's an excellent opportunity to engage with the locals while shopping for authentic souvenirs like trinkets and jewelry.
Lively place. Restroom costs a dollar! Possibly bring your own T.P. nice vendors, not overly aggressive, but of course they invite you to look at their stock. . Lots of souvenir options. Local fruit selection is fantastic.

Market sits on waterfront, nice view of the ship, good selection of local fruit for fair price. They sell in dollars and in cash so it's easier for us when we only have small change. Nice friendly merchants, market not too busy, food stalls opens every other door with small menus, mainly for locals, not for tourists, bathrooms is clean, no cost, we bought some fruits to taste and a few souvenir items for very little price. You just gotta know how to bargain.

Great place to interact with the locals. Guavas, mangoes, Coconuts, bananas etc. fresh and just off the farm. Enjoyed the most delicious fruit breakfast and only £2! I am visiting Creole Kitchen again to taste their delicious food! A bottle of pure fresh natural Guava juice for Rs: 100

Enjoyed checking out the market, clean place organized and everyone was friendly and not pushy to buy their goods. The locally grown food looked amazing must be the fertile soil. I tried some Black Pudding (blood sausage) from a sweet gentleman named Julius which was so good, best I’ve had in a long time I ended up buying more struck up a convo and just chatted with him for a while. It's a bit of a work out to get to the different lines (but its wortht it); ensure you take the water that is being given at the different intervals. - When we were done with our tour the guides got a small snake at the entrance. (this is a usual thing for the area) - The tour felt very safe & the guides gave a briefing on how to ride the lines. - The tour guides usually take a phone per group throughout the journey for photos.

We drove ourselves to the Treetop Adventure park on typical narrow Lucian roads, but we were able to get started right at opening! Great fun with a variety of types of lines within the 12. Our two guides, Ali and Curim, were very helpful, knowledgeable, and a ton of fun! They also took awesome action photos for us throughout the park.

This was soooo much fun. 🏞️First, we had a small tour guided by Dennis. Despite many of the plants being out of season, he expertly identified them. He was a chill dude 😎 Then, we joined a relatively large group to go ziplining. Apart from the fact that I wish there were more clean glove options, it was great. They're very polite and friendly as they harness you/strap you up. 🌟I had Keenan, he was sweet. 🗣️They're very clear with instructions, goofy enough to make you laugh, professional enough to make you feel safe. 🍃Along the lines, of which there are 1️⃣2️⃣, I met Marvin and a bunch of other really nice guides. The lines all offered something different. Some were close to the water and rocks 🪨 and others the treetops🌴. Some were faster and some were closer to the foliage than everrrr. From the greeting to our exit, which was when I met Zack, another great guide, the experience was ✨AMAZING✨.🦋

We did the biking and the waterfall. We had an amazing time. Our tour guide Steffan was an absolute pleasure to spend the activity with.

Treetop Adventure Park in St. Lucia is a rainforest zipline and outdoor adventure destination located in Dennery. It offers thrilling canopy rides, hiking trails, and access to Errard Waterfall, making it one of the island’s top-rated attractions. 🌿 What You’ll Experience - World-class ziplining: The park features some of the highest, longest, and fastest lines in St. Lucia, allowing you to soar above the treetops with panoramic views of the rainforest canopy. - Errard Waterfall: Beyond ziplining, you can hike or cycle to Errard Waterfall, the highest accessible waterfall on the island.

Our family of four had a fantastic time on the ATV and zip lines! The zip line guide used on of our phones to take great pictures and videos. After zip lining, we went to a beautiful waterfall to cool off. Then Atv back. Fun day!!!

Amazing experience! The course has 12 zip lines for one to descend. Each has a set of stairs to climb, to get to the next. The staff were eager to take pictures and videos, so that the memories stay fresh. Highly recommend!

An excellent time with fun instructors. My wife and I went as part of our stay at sandals resort. They walked us through everything and took amazing pictures for us. The zip lines were really fun and the whole park is well kept up and in good condition. 10/10 would recommend

Anse Mamin Beach in Saint Lucia is a rare gem with its unique black sand and tranquil atmosphere. Once a sugar plantation, the area now offers more than just beach relaxation. Visitors can explore hiking and mountain biking trails through the surrounding jungle and Anse Mamin Valley. After an adventure-filled day, you can unwind in the calm waters or enjoy refreshments at the Jungle Grill and Bar.
We stayed in Soufriere and were dropped off by our driver at Anse Chastenet (it is walkable if you like long walks up the hill with a windy road). We then walked the length of the beach, under the cliffs until we ended up at the very end - with a paradise like beach in front of us. The beach has resort loungers which are very expensive to rent for a day, but the sand is perfectly fine. The beach itself was very quiet on the day as we had showers, but they only added to the atmosphere. The sunset was stunning. There's a food outlet on the beach serving burgers made to order and fresh seafood.

Hands down the best beach on the entire island! Don’t waste your time going to sugar beach, it’s small and over crowded. Make the trek up and down the rocky road for a private, clean, peaceful beach with two shower heads to wash off, 4 bathroom stalls— which the bathrooms are very clean and very nice, and with its own restaurant. Order the burgers or fish tacos from the restaurant. The restaurant is ONLY OPEN from 12-3 so make sure you get the order in by 230. Chairs on the left side of the beach are $66 for the day, chairs on the right side are for the people staying at the resort. $66 for the day is steep but SO WORTH IT. There’s 8 umbrellas with 2 chairs a piece, the most people that have been here on the left side was 3 couples (including me and my husband). No foot traffic, no getting hassled by people wanting to sell you boat rides, or other tours. You’ll occasionally get a party boat pull up and they snorkel off to the left side of the beach. My husband and I have been here since Friday 8/8 and today is 8/14– we’ve been to the beach 4 days in a row paying for chairs everyday $264USD because ITS WORTH IT. We went to sugar beach, La toc beach, vidgie beach, humming bird beach, and reduit beach and we came back here everyday. The people at the gate knew us by the 3rd day “back again?😇” Please don’t waste your time going anywhere else! ☀️🤌🏼🏝️🇱🇨

*VERY IMPORTANT* The road to get there is long and absolutely sucks. You must have a good car with proper suspension to make it there. It's probably the best beach on the island. Very few people and very quiet, so you get the full beach experience of sand, sun, waves crashing and ocean breeze. Beach chairs are owned by the resort, which costs $65 per chair if you want to rent them (despite them being mostly unused). Nearby bar/restaurant for drinks and burgers are available to non-resort guests. You pretty much get what's on the menu though, so if you're picky about what you want, it will be messed up.

Very nice peaceful beach, comfortable, great service and amazing view. Not so much people and very calm. Perfect for relaxing.

One of the most idyllic places I’ve ever been. Snorkeling at Chastanet is very good as well. Highly recommend this spot.
Julian M — Google review
One of the nicest beaches in St. Lucia. Tucked away, so very quiet, but only about 10 or less walking from a car park. Also there is a really nice restaurant called Anse Chastanet. So after a good swim you can dine in this nice restaurant.
Braňo S — Google review
We visited as a day trip. Bring some lunch and a six pack of Peton’s. As an avid off-roader in California, the road to Anse Chastanet is not nearly as bad as other reviews. Broken, bumpy concrete but not slippy mud. It starts steep but is fine after the first 200ft. There is a large parking area on the left when you arrive at the resort. Be sure to assure the security you know to walk all the way north (right) because it sounded like they’re tired of day trippers expecting more. Once down on Anse Chastanet, keep heading north, you’ll arrive at a few concrete steps that lead to a flat gravel/dirt road, pass a small pier, and arrive at a gloriously under utilized beach and bar. The day user’s typically go past the two standing rock formations and you get it all to your self!!! We had a cocktail and utilized the picnic tables near the bar before we left, we felt welcomed there. Definitely do what we did.

One of the most private and beautiful public beaches I’ve ever been to! Definitely worth the long walk and even a long swim! Bonus, the burger place is awesome as well! Although a little bit overpriced.

Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens & Mineral Baths is a former plantation transformed into a stunning park featuring ornamental plants, a picturesque waterfall, and geothermal mineral baths. Located in Soufriere with the iconic Pitons as its backdrop, this site offers thermal pools, a botanical garden showcasing the beautiful Diamond Falls, and breathtaking panoramas. The Enbas Saut Falls provide an opportunity to immerse in the jungle amidst impressive mountains with guided hikes.
Peaceful gardens filled with lots of native plants, trees and birds. Cost $10 to enter for the gardens with an additional fee payable to use the private or public baths. At the end of the trail is a magnificent waterfall which is worth the entry fee alone!

A very beautiful walk through the gardens with a large variety of local plants and fauna. Lizards, hummingbirds and other animals can be seen as you walk through the grounds. The falls and river have volcanic ash/sulphur which give it the grey appearance.

I came upon this place taking a wrong turn while exploring St. Lucia. I love wrong turns in the right places. If you love exploring and looking for a serene inexpensive place learn about the vegetation, fruits, minerals, check this place. Also, bring your swim gear and soak in the mineral bath. I left out bath pics intentionally. You must visit.

Peaceful botanical gardens filled with lots of gorgeous plants, birds and trees. The waterfall was lovely to watch and listen to. There are some information plaques around the gardens, but not many. Entrance fee is reasonable, $35. Cash only. There is a shop selling souvenirs and refreshments, some pools to bathe in (although these didn't look very inviting), changing & bathroom facilities are available. Walking at a very slow pace, it took us 1-1.5 hours to see the whole garden.
Saskia E — Google review
Beautiful botanical gardens, it can be explored on your own or with a guide. There is a good variety of all sorts of plants. It is possible to see the waterfall which has different colours due to the different minerals from the volcanic water. There are mineral baths as well, but not very inviting, as the pools don't have much privacy. Recommended

If your into nature, this is a place to visit. Not large but has a wide variety of plants, flowers and trees. Has a small waterfall towards the back. Not a fan of the touristy hot bath, that you have to pay extra for, but to each their on. Entrance fee is $7.00 US. You can get a guide, not sure if that is an extra cost or not. I just walked at my on pace and enjoyed myself.

Had such a wonderful afternoon enjoying the sulphur spring pools. My skin felt amazing afterwards. Would definitely recommend but can get busy if lots of tourists are coming in.
Ang B — Google review
This is a must visit! We visited while on an excursion and loved it so much we went back two days later. The volcano is incredibly cool to see, guides were informative on the history & how the volcano works. The mud bath is so soft and our skin still feels great. A couple vendors outside too. Without a tour there it was quiet and peaceful, absolutely a great time!!
Ash — Google review
Such a unique and unforgettable stop! I didn’t do the official tour, but I was still able to walk through the volcanic area, stop at the interpretation center, waterfall along the way. Being that close to the hot, bubbling springs was surreal; and yes, the scent of sulfur fills the air and adds to the whole atmosphere. But the absolute highlight for me was bathing in the mineral-rich hot springs. I covered myself in the sulfur mud and soaked in the naturally heated pools, which sit at around 100°F. It was heavenly!!!My skin felt unbelievably soft and refreshed afterward. Days later, my skin was still sooo smooth. Like a natural spa treatment straight from the Earth. It was so good, I ended up coming back for a second visit. There are also souvenirs available at the entrance if you want a little keepsake. Truly a must-do experience if you’re visiting the island!
Sidra S — Google review
Such a stinky experience! And well worth it. The mud plastered all over us followed by a hot bath was refreshing and soothing. Wish I lived close enough to do this on a regular basis. Don't miss it!
Seth G — Google review
Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly! When we got to the baths and mud, it was a little overwhelming with the number of people, but we still didn’t have to wait at all. You don’t actually get into a mud bath. You get into the sulfur baths, then right when you get out of the water, you can spread the mud all over yourself. It takes about 10 minutes for it to dry completely. Then they have black mud that you can decorate with or you can leave a tip with one of their artists for them to create a design on you. I was really uncomfortable with someone I don’t know touching me like that, so he offered to just give me black splatters by flicking the mud on, which I thought was very considerate and still allowed me to be a part of the fun! After you take your pictures, you can get back into the hot Springs and rinse off the mud. Our skin was soooooo soft after!! we really had a great time here
Jens J — Google review
This was a really great experience that everyone who visit St. Lucia should consider. We got there around 10am and I strongly recommend getting there early to beat the crowds. My skin feels super soft after the mud bath.

Located in the caldera of the dormant Qualibou volcano, Soufrière Drive In Volcano offers a unique experience as the only drive-in volcano in the world. Visitors can take a guided tour to learn about the intricacies of this natural wonder and its surroundings. The excursion culminates with a soothing mud bath inside the sulfur springs pools, known for their medicinal qualities.
A volcano you can actually drive into? Yes, please! It was such a cool and unique experience. The bubbling sulfur springs, the steam rising all around — it feels like stepping onto another planet. Don’t skip the mud baths — messy, fun, and so good for your skin! A must-do while in Saint Lucia!
Yordanka V — Google review
We loved it so much here that we visited twice. Between a volcano you can drive into, the informative tours, and how amazing the natural mud baths are - this is the ultimate experience. When there’s not a tour there it’s super quiet and laid back, fairly inexpensive too! Our skin still feels amazing, a great connection to the Earth!
Ash — Google review
The guided tour to the dormant volcano was really interesting and our guide was really funny at the same time. The mud baths are definitely a must while in Saint Lucia, nice soft skin afterwards. We did the mud baths first in the morning and then the volcano, just because of the heat and it was less crowded. It was a well spent morning. There are toilets, shower available and a few shops with souvenirs. We ended our morning with a refreshing coconut water. Highly recommended.
Sónia M — Google review
So the Soufriere caldera is along a public road but it's 9USD to enter and have a guide and another 10USD if you want to cover yourself in mud. There were a few too many people there to make the latter an attractive proposition for me but others certainly seemed to be having fun. If you can stand the steep climb up the back there's an information centre with a short video introduction in a choice of 6 languages as well as a small and slightly tired group of exhibits. Definitely worth a visit but it isn't Hawaii....😊
Guy B — Google review
Super awesome. It isn’t a “drive up” the way Americans imagine it. You park, watch a 5 min I go video, then a guide walks you up and tells you about the sulphur springs. Worth it. Not like a drive by thing. Still awesome. Stinky of course. GET THE SOAPS at the souvenirs shop! Specifically the black one.

Jalousie Plantation Beach, also known as Sugar Beach, is a picturesque and iconic beach located in the southwest of St. Lucia. It offers stunning views of the twin peaks Gros and Petit Piton, with crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, and scuba diving. The area is teeming with marine life and features an 1,800-foot drop-off at the base of the Pitons.
Also known s Sugar Beach. This is one of the prettiest beaches on the island. You can take a water taxi from Soufriere or drive and park at visitor parking.

Now known as Sugar beach. Amazing spot, great views of the pitons, beautiful beach and hotel. Expensive hotel facilities. A bit overpriced. But clearly the nicest beach on the island. A must visit even if not a guest to the hotel.
Andrew G — Google review
Okay overall amazing location between the pitons with beautiful beach sand (imported white sand) and crystal clear water. Overall you cannot beat the location hands down between the 2 Pitons...the problem though is the sugar beach resort. For an island that prides themselves on being free they sure have a lot of rules and regulations here. First off for non-guest, you must be dropped of at the first gate and walk down a huge hill for 10 mins to reach the beach. Once at the beach your restricted to either purchase a spot in the corners for $100.00 or fry in the sun upfront. We dis find a spot way off to the left side under a tree that did offer some shad. So I would recommend bring a towel and don't pay the "man". The other thing is they "restrict where you can snorkel with these ropes. We of course just swam under them but again watch for boats and stay near the rocks. It's actually a pretty cool spot with underwater caves that you can explore/and see some fish near Petite Piton. Lastly be prepared to pay a high price for food. We ate at Bointe which was overall a good experience just not worth the price.
Dakota P — Google review
I like pitton ST Lucia.
Cristian P — Google review
(Adding my review here to be clear it’s about the beach, not the associated resort.) It’s a beautiful beach, the (imported) white sand is a nice touch, but in my experience it was one of the more crowded beaches in the area, with lots of tourist families with little children. Renting a pair of beach chairs and an umbrella was supposedly 50 USD, but the staff said the beach was too busy to make them available to anyone but hotel guests. (Of course, many spots sat empty during our stay.) There’s quite a long, steep walk between the beach and the visitor parking lot. You can get a ride back to your car, but only if you show a receipt from one of the shops, bars, or restaurants at the resort. (You can buy anything, even a bottle of water… but you have to have proof you bought *something*.)

Tet Paul Nature Trail

Tet Paul Nature Trail, also known as the "Stairway to Heaven," is a hillside nature trail near Soufriere, St. Lucia that offers stunning views of the water and mountains. The 45-minute walk is suitable for beginners and provides panoramic vistas of the Pitons, Jalousie Bay, and neighboring islands like Saint Vincent and Martinique.
We did this trail with a guide who was very encouraging and had some interesting facts to share. He also was happy to take our photos and knew the best angles. The trail was actually more of a hike than expected, but really not too difficult. Views were amazing. Way nicer views than from the Gros Piton hike. I would bring some drinks and a snack to enjoy at the third view point (by the shed) to really enjoy the views.

A must do to get some stunning views of the Pitons! The hike is fairly easy, but use the guide to gain insight into the locale and support the community. We had Felix take us on our hike and he was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and took great photos of our group!
Nick F — Google review
This nature trail is quite easy to do when compared to the gros piton trail. The views are equally beautiful, from here in fact you get a different perspective of the pitons, specially the Petit piton. At the top of the stairs for heaven it's where you gonna get the wow feeling! Absolutely astonishing. In here there is a small shop, so you can have a drink while contemplating the view. Highly recommended.
Sónia M — Google review
We drove and parked here on Wednesday, Oct 1 around 9:30am. We were the only ones on the hike until we were descending. The cost was $10/pp. we hiked it on our own. The hike is a loop that took less than an hour and easy to navigate. The first 15-20 min is uphill with stairs but mostly in the shade. There’s a vendor at the top selling refreshment and souvenirs but not pushy. The view was gorgeous and hike back down was easy.
Hong D — Google review
A must do hike for all abilities if you are nearby! Gentle walk that only needs trainers at trail is well maintained - and with views just as beautiful as from at the top of the pitons! Easy parking with cute dogs and friendly staff. Guides available, but I went alone - could probably have completed in half an hour, but sat for a few moments of peace at each viewpoint taking it all in!
Eleanor — Google review
This is a nice, straightforward hike with rewarding views of the Pitons at the peak (where there's also a small shop if you'd like something to enjoy the views with). The guide who went with me was knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna and even helped me pick out a couple of mangoes from the trail. Would recommend even if you want to take it slow and pause for breaks as the view is well worth it.
Taha Z — Google review
What a magnificent view! The trail itself takes about 1 hour to complete and costs $10 to enter. There is the option to hire a guide, but you can easily follow the trail alone if you prefer. The trail itself winds it's way up the hill and there are a few different points where you can stop and take pictures, but it's at the top where you'll be dazzled by your incredible surroundings!
Ben S — Google review
This is a lovely, straightforward hike with fantastic views of the Pitons and Sugar Beach. It takes 45 minutes - 1 hour to complete, depending on fitness levels. The main trail at the top of the hill (if following Google Maps) is currently closed. There is a free car park there, but the trail itself is roped off. Instead you can follow the sign for the "Tet Paul Community Project" which will direct you left, downhill toward another carpark and hut. Here there are bathroom facilities, you will be charged $10 per person (you can pay cash or card) and a guide will be assigned to your group to lead you through the hike. I would say a guide is absolutely not required for this walk. The trail is clear & simple, it's very difficult to get lost and our guide didn't really share much information or knowledge with us. They did offer to take photographs of us which was nice. There are periods of flat, however at points there are a lot of steep steps. Would recommend for the views of the Pitons, you might even see some cute kittens at the top!

Gros Piton

Mountain peak
Nature & Parks
Gros Piton is a 798-meter mountain that offers breathtaking panoramic views from its summit, accessible through hiking. The area around Gros Piton is home to a variety of marine life, including pantropical spotted dolphins, Frasers dolphins, dwarf and pygmy sperm whales. Visitors have a high chance of observing these creatures on an excursion with Mystic Man Tours. Additionally, the town of Soufriere near Gros Piton features thermal pools, botanical gardens with Diamond Falls, and stunning vistas.
Nestled in the heart of the Caribbean, the island of Saint Lucia is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, and Gros Piton is undoubtedly one of its crown jewels. During my two years on this stunning island, Gros Piton became more than just a destination for me; it was an escape, a source of thrill, and a place where I felt a renewed sense of wonder with every visit. A World Heritage Wonder Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Gros Piton is an iconic landmark that dominates the landscape of Saint Lucia. Rising majestically above the sea, it offers unparalleled views and a sense of awe that words often fail to capture. Whether you see it from a boat, the roadside, or the summit itself, the sheer grandeur of this volcanic peak leaves an indelible mark on your soul. One of my favorite ways to admire Gros Piton was by taking a catamaran cruise around the island. The day-long adventure combined the thrill of being on the water with the serenity of soaking in the Pitons' beauty from every angle. These towering peaks are a photographer’s dream. The scenery is genuinely some of the most beautiful I’ve ever encountered. The Thrill of the Hike Of course, no visit to Gros Piton is complete without experiencing the hike to its summit. I would say that the trail is a moderate hike, but don’t let that fool you; it’s a challenging adventure that rewards your perseverance with views that are nothing short of spectacular. My journey to the top remains one of my fondest memories of Saint Lucia. The hike typically takes around two hours up and another two hours down, depending on your pace and fitness level. Good grippy shoes are a must; while I managed in running shoes, we colleagues did slip a few times along the way. The shaded trail provided relief from the tropical heat, and the railings on the steeper sections offered much-needed support, particularly on the descent. Reaching the summit was exhilarating, and the panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and the neighboring Petit Piton were worth every drop of sweat. The descent, while less physically demanding, required careful navigation to avoid slips and falls, making the railings invaluable. A Must-Do Experience For those who prefer a less strenuous experience, Gros Piton can also be admired from various vantage points across the island. Boat rides to Soufriere or scenic drives to the nearby volcano offer excellent views of these majestic peaks. But if you’re up for an adventure, the hike is an absolute must-do when in Saint Lucia. Gros Piton is more than just a tourist attraction; it’s a testament to the raw, untouched beauty of Saint Lucia. Each visit left me with a deeper appreciation for this majestic place, and climbing to its summit was one of the highlights of my time on the island. Whether you’re an avid hiker, a photography enthusiast, or simply someone seeking a connection with nature, Gros Piton promises an experience you’ll cherish forever. Tips for Your Gros Piton Adventure •Footwear: Invest in sturdy, grippy shoes to tackle the rocky terrain. •Hydration: Bring plenty of water; the hike can be taxing. •Guides: Opt for a knowledgeable guide like Simone to enhance your experience. •Timing: Start early to avoid the midday heat and to enjoy cooler, quieter trails. •Pace: Go at a pace that’s comfortable for you; it’s not a race. Saint Lucia’s Gros Piton isn’t just a place, it’s an experience that stays with you long after you leave. For me, it was a sanctuary that offered a new thrill with every visit, and I’m sure it will hold the same magic for you.
Siddhant M — Google review
Saint Lucia's Gros Piton is a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site. This iconic volcanic peak offers breathtaking views, whether from a boat or its summit. The hike to the summit is moderate yet challenging, taking about two hours each way. Good footwear is essential, and railings assist on steeper parts. The panoramic views from the top are exhilarating, making the effort worthwhile. For a less strenuous experience, admire Gros Piton from various viewpoints or take a boat ride to Soufriere. However, the hike is a must for adventure seekers. Gros Piton is an unforgettable experience that lingers long after your visit.
Connie — Google review
However tough you think the hike is it’s tougher. Rest of the family only made it a quarter of the way up but I managed to make it to the top. The view was amazing and had a welcoming party of a cat and her kittens. Due to some rain going down was very slippery so I definitely recommend renting a hiking pole. I drank a gallon of water during my he hike and it took me around 4 and a half hours so plan accordingly. It cost $50 US for the guide which is required and they take cash and card. Definitely worth it.

Beautiful views. This is the iconic twin mountains that were caused by volcanic eruptions. They are located close to the coast, but you can see them while driving on the mountain roads and enjoy stunning views for miles and miles. Every where you look on this part of the island, you get different views and they are all beautiful. They are definitely worth searching out while you are enjoying your stay. If you visit sulphur Springs, they will give you the full history even though they are not visible from the volcano or the mud baths.

Gros Piton Hike was excellent. Definitely a more moderate level hike. They say it takes about 2hrs up and 2hrs down for most. My husband and I are in pretty good half marathon shape and it had some pretty vertical rock scrambles. I would say its mostly a rocky path so good grippy shoes are key. We managed to do this hike in running shoes but slipped a few times. It took us a little over 3hrs to complete. Our guide was Simone. She was great! She knew we wanted to go a little faster and kept a good pace. The path itself is shaded for the most part. The more challenging parts of the hike have railings. The hardest part was actually going back down and not slipping- that's where the railings definitely came in handy. There are 3 stopping points along the path. The recommended water per person is 1.5liters. You will need your water. There is a shop that sells water and snacks if needed. Overall a fun way to start the day and get in some exercise! View is amazing on a clear day!

Beautiful and amazing hike to the top. Worth every moment of the hike. Takes around 2 hours or more to reach the top. Depends on your stamina. You will need to pay and get a local guide to bring you up and down the piton. Bring water for the hike.

We took a caribbean cruise and the pitons were definitely one of the best views during the trip. We took a catamaran cruise from the port and it was a great view. On the way back it was a bit rocky due to a storm but it was a once in a lifetime experience.

Sandy Beach is a beautiful beach on Saint Lucia that is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and windsurfing. It has gentle waves that are great for all levels of experience, and the beach is away from the crowded resorts. The seaweed can be a problem at certain times of the year, but it is still one of the best beaches on St. Lucia.
A great beach next to airport - plenty of room to set up for a day at the beach . Several places to get food and drinks next to beach. We saw several people kite surfing and kayaking. Equipment and instruction is available at the Reef shop.

Sandy Beach in Vieux Fort is a beautiful little beach. I would highly recommend Marcus' Place, The beer is cold, the sea water is warm and rum punch is out of this world

For what it is, Sandy Beach (Vieux Fort) is a gem: a simple, beautiful, laid-back beach with a lot of character. It’s not luxury, but that’s part of its appeal. If you want somewhere nice to relax, soak up the sun, maybe enjoy some local beach food, and you aren’t expecting everything to be perfect, you’ll probably really enjoy it. If your priorities are calm, luxury, perfect service, you might want to combine a visit to Sandy Beach with something more upscale.

There was a lot of seamoss, but the water was clean. We loved the restaurant Nauty Iguana and the little beach bar right in front

Our favorite beach in Saint Lucia and we have toured /walked the whole island. Natural gorgeous beach that has totally paradise views and great photo opportunities. A couple of inexpensive but great food joints and the best local beach bar on the island providing beach beds for hire and service with a smile. Chill to the max

When we were there, the beach had 2-4 feet wide of seaweed. We went to snorkel but the water was very rough. Thus not a good beach for swimming. There are 2 great restaurants on the beach, the reef and another right next door to it.

My favorite beach in St.Lucia! Longest stretch of Sandy Beach on island and away from the crowded resorts. It's not the typical white sand like Barbados but it's still very beautiful. Sargassum seaweed can be a problem at certain times of the year but don't let this stop you from spending a few hours here. Enjoy a relaxing day with the most beautiful views of Maria Islet..grab your grill and cooler or visit one of the local beach bars.

This beach we visited before dropping off the hire car. Not the safest. Currents can be bad. You must be aware of your surroundings as you can be somewhat exposed to unsavory characters.
