The multi-tiered falls cascade into vibrant jade-green jungle pools, creating an idyllic setting for a refreshing swim. Had the best afternoon at El Nicho! My friends and I had the waterfall to ourselves and swam and relaxed and wandered around. This is an absolutely must if planning a trip to Cuba! We stayed in Cienfuegos and hired a taxi for the day that took us here. Paired with a morning trip to Trinidad.
Caroline H — Google review
The largest waterfall in cuba we were told. The water is sourced from mountain spring. The natural surroundings are beautifull and relaxing. Many people go there to take a swim to cool off. Definitely worth visiting. The road to the fall is unfortunately not in a good shape.
Ewald H — Google review
Best activity I went on in Cuba!!! Absolutely stunning waterfalls that you can swim in, there's even a jungle tour to a cave. We got a taxi from Cienfuegos and got there around 10:30 (come as early as possible because it got busy later on).
Alice R — Google review
Beautiful landscape and natural pools for a refreshing swim! Go early in the morning and you will have it all for yourself. Stunning views.
Ana C — Google review
We went from cienfuegos to El Nicho. Trip was suppose to cost 15 euro pp we ended up paying 20 euro pp for the trip and 10 euro pp entrance fee. We were travelling with 6 in one car. Make sure to watch out for 'all included trips'. I really cant grasp the idea that a government organisation would ask for euro instead of CUP. El Nicho itself is beautiful, small and bit crowded (we went in low season). The place itself is not big, 500m walk from the parking. Water is very refreshing cold. Image shows all entry prices for El Nicho and wide surroundings.
Mauwrijn B — Google review
Beautiful setting and lovely water for swimming. Short walk through some easy terrain to get to the pools - good fun to go off the trails and explore the surrounding jungle. Quite expensive access.

Such an amazing place to visit. It is usually packed, but even so we managed to have a good swim in the pools. Recommend 100%

It's a beautiful spot to savor great cocktails and make lasting memories during a visit to Cuba.
Very quiet and tranquil beach, with chairs and sun parasol. Joaquin is here, very friendly and fresh seafoood and good cocktails !
Corentin H — Google review
Attention: always ask for the price of the food and drinks, also the chairs and the umbrella (we are not even sure, if the umbrella is really private property..!) the prices are similar to europe, actually even more expensive! + the beach is pretty with nice sand
N J — Google review
I loved that this beach have umbrellas already there to protect you from the Sun.

Very good diving, there is even a small cave to swim through. The bay is shallow, covered with sea grass which gives home for zillions of animals. The food at the beach restaurant is quite good. Very friendly guests helped with translation.

Punta Gorda in Cienfuegos is a stunning peninsula known for its beautiful 1950s houses and upscale neighborhood. Taking a leisurely stroll along the malecon to Punta Gorda allows visitors to admire colonial mansions and former palaces, making it an ideal spot to capture memorable sunset photos.
We had a very nice almost sunset walk along Punta Gorda which is situated at the southern tip of Cienfuegos. It offers stunning views of the bay and the sea. We made an easy walk from the city center along the Malecón (sea wall). A few places to have a drink or meal as well. The neighborhood is a bit plush as well with some nice houses to see.

Punta Gorda in Cienfuegos is a stunning peninsula where the sea breeze meets elegant colonial charm. The views over the bay are unforgettable, especially at sunset when the sky turns golden and pink. You’ll find quiet streets, colorful villas, and relaxed locals. It’s perfect for a peaceful stroll, a drink by the water, or watching vintage cars pass by. A highlight of Cienfuegos that beautifully captures the city’s serene, romantic spirit.

José Martí Park is a paved plaza surrounded by 19th-century buildings, featuring a memorial to José Martí and a bandstand. The park pays homage to José Martí, an influential figure in Cuban history known for his role in the country's liberation and independence movement. The area also includes a bustling pedestrian shopping area that leads into the main city park, forming the historic center of Cienfuegos.
Parque José Martí is lined by attractive buildings including the Tomas Terry Theater.
Gary B — Google review
Super elegant, peaceful and clean park. Very central and surrounded by many venues and nice cafes and restaurants. Sometimes it even hosts sone nice evening events. Great place to meet locals ❤️🇨🇺
Phanendra D — Google review
A big concrete park just down the road from our hotel - Meliá San Carlos - and opposite the main theatre, the Parque José Martí is a nice place to relax and go for a stroll. Old men playing chess in the shade and tourists like us taking photos and listening to our respective guides talking about José Martí - a Spanish guy who is a bit of a national hero after devoting much of his life to the cause of Cuban independence. This park, a big monument in Plaza de le Revolución and the country's main international airport, to name but a few things, are all named after him and I'm sure there are many other sites around the country named in his honour too.
Mark J — Google review
José Martí Park in Cienfuegos, Cuba, stands as a historic and vibrant heart of the city, embodying its rich cultural heritage. Named after the revered Cuban national hero, the park is surrounded by significant landmarks that highlight the city's neoclassical charm. The beautiful Cienfuegos Cathedral and the impressive Terry Theatre frame the park, each telling a story of the city's past and its artistic legacy. In the center of the park, a statue of José Martí serves as a constant reminder of his enduring influence on Cuban history. The unique Arc de Triomphe, the only one of its kind in Cuba, adds a distinctive touch to this lively square. Regular cultural and social events transform the park into a bustling hub, attracting both locals and visitors to experience the vibrant spirit of Cienfuegos.
Nick M — Google review
Nice place to wander around and enjoy the beautiful buildings and street life. The crowd on their smartphones linked to the local WiFi place!
Alex W — Google review
The park is the central point of town with the only triumphal arch in Cuba erected by homesick French settlers. It is surrounded by the most important buildings such as the Cathedral, Government House, Teatro Terry, Palacio Ferrer, musical dome.
Travelling C — Google review
Gorgeous! Ask your taxi driver to drive you around the park even if you are just driving through Cienfuegos. It's worth the detour!

Caleta Buena, snorkeling

Mentioned on
+4 other lists
Beach
Outdoor Activities
Caleta Buena is a protected cove perfect for snorkeling, especially with kids. The area also features a museum dedicated to the Bay of Pigs invasion and offers an all-inclusive concept with easy access to great snorkeling spots. Visitors can enjoy swimming in natural sea pools and renting masks for leisurely swims. While some mention that the coral reef is not well-maintained, others praise the abundance of fish and nice coral formations.
Great all-inclusive concept here at this spot. There are plenty of great spots along the entire Bay Of Pigs coastline where you can snorkel or dive, but most require some effort to reach. This place makes it easily accessible. Snorkeling is good here, lots of fish and nice coral. Swim out to the opposite side for the best parts. Buffet lunch is ok and the beers are chilled. What more do you want? Cycling from Playa Giron takes about 30 minutes, but be careful not to get a puncture as some parts of the road are quite bad.
Theo T — Google review
Great place to hang out and swim for the day.. you can pick out a secluded spot for peace and quiet too. The food and booze are plentiful ... Not the best, but you can drink all day ! We cycled there from Playa Giron.
Heather S — Google review
It's a jaw-dropping place!!! I visited during late September. I terribly got burn but wether was wonderful to chill with my wife. $15 will satisfy you with compact lunch and free drinks from 10am until 4pm.
DA K — Google review
We loved this place, incredible still blue water for snorkelling, buffet lunch wasn't great but drinks were good and overall great value for money.
Stephen S — Google review
Awesome place even though the road to get there is a bit damaged
Andi K — Google review
Nice beach, you can spend the whole day without going anywhere. You can rent a mask and swim a little. Snorkeling is not very good as the coral reef is poor and old. They do not want to restore it. The beach works on the system all inclusive. The cost of visiting 15 convertible pesos. There is parking, but it is not free! Place for a single visit. Around you can find a lot of interesting places.
Iliya I — Google review
Did an awesome diving lesson... 35 CUC... Thanks for all
Marco T — Google review
I went there but not with a guided trip. I had the worst experience in the entire Cuba. They tried to get money to watch our bicycles when our Airbnb host told us that we shouldn't pay anything if we arrive by bicycles. Then, the kitchen was already closed (we arrived 2/3 hours before closing time) and they asked us to pay the full price for the whole day when it includes food. The worst thing of this entire experience was their behavior. They were very rude, entitled and, most of all, they were extremely unpleasant because they were cursing us in Spanish. And I know Spanish

Museo Girón is a small museum commemorating the 1961 defeat of the "Bay of Pigs invasion" force. It consists of two large rooms and an outdoor exhibition. The indoor exhibition displays guns, mortars, personal items of fallen soldiers and civilians, along with explanations and maps detailing the operation. The museum offers insight into Cuban perspectives on the invasion. Visitors can also enjoy WIFI access at the site.
Visited mid hurricane season so we were the only ones in the museum. Exhibition is in Spanish but we both got folders with the same pictures as shown and with every text translated to English, so we could understand everything. Good piece of history.
Kinga — Google review
Small museum, but a good visit to see the history behind the invasion.
Drift W — Google review
Museo Girón is a powerful and deeply moving place to visit. The exhibits are small but filled with real stories, photographs, and artifacts that bring the events of the Bay of Pigs to life. Walking through the museum, I could feel the pride and resilience of the Cuban people — it’s not just history, it’s emotion. The staff were knowledgeable and happy to answer questions, giving more context about what happened and how it shaped the country. If you’re interested in Cuba’s past and want to understand its spirit beyond the beaches, this museum is a must-see.
Suzan C — Google review
Small museum but good to see Cubans view of the US invasion to Cuba. If you ask you can also get a book with english translation. You can also use the toilet there.
Vitek G — Google review
Awesome and it has WIFI.... When your done go to the far beach called Playa Los Cocos which is nicer than the hotel one. If you like adventure ask about renting a horse. Ask anyone as they all know the guy who rents horses. They are well cared for, well fed and the 2.5 houres tour cost me 10CUC (I gave him 20 as I had the time of my life).
Madame A — Google review
Interesting museum to get to know a bit better the Cuban history.
Damián G — Google review
Nice and well organised. Good to learn the Cuban view on the invation of the US
Luc B — Google review
Very small museum split into two wings charting the failed CIA-backed invasion here. Unfortunately, everything is in Spanish which makes it difficult to connect with the exhibits. Bring a translator if you're visiting. The intact ex-WW2 vehicles outside the museum were the most interesting things here. You may also have a chance to watch an English subtitled short film about the invasion at the back of the museum, otherwise the whole place takes 30 minutes max to complete.

‘Cave of the Fishes’ Cenote

Nature & Parks
Parks
We visited in the rain mid hurricane season so probably not the best time, but maybe that's why there weren't many people. Beautiful water, a place to jump, dive, sharp rocks and many many crabs! PLEASE don't forget to walk across the road from parking, there is a beautiful spot to enjoy breathtakingly beautiful water, the water in cities is brown and here between cities it's unreal
Kinga — Google review
This is honestly the most beautiful cenote I’ve seen in Cuba. It’s a cool mix of fresh and salt water. You can see freshwater creatures on top and saltwater fish deeper down. The right side goes from around 2 to 3 meters deep to about 23 meters. The left side is even deeper and way more impressive. If you keep going to the far left, that part is absolutely amazing. Most people don’t go that far, but you should definitely try it. Totally worth it!
Farhad N — Google review
A nice place to relax away from civilization. We came across a crab migration, there were hundreds of them. You can rest and then go to the other side of the road to the Caribbean Sea where you can snorkel
Łukasz H — Google review
As a first-time scuba diver, I had a great time at Cueva de los Peces. For 35 USD, you can go snorkling in the Cueva and go scuba-diving with a guide in the sea, on the other side of the road (you can also just do snorkling for 5 USD and they will provide you with a mask). My guide gave a crash-course on basic safety tips and held my arm throughout our dive while showing me giant crabs, eels, fish, corals, etc. I felt safe the whole time.
Eunbyul P — Google review
One of the nice attractions of the area of Playa Giron. Across the road there is a nice beach. Don’t forget to bring bathing suit. The water in the Cenote is amazingly nice to dive and swim.
Revitalbj — Google review
Amazing fresh water stream -- super deep and crystal clear it feels like you're swimming in bottled mineral water. Suprisingly quiet as well as most people hang out at the beach nearby instead (which is awesome for snorkeling). But this spring-fed stream is just so magical with lots of trees around it as well
L B — Google review
First off this used to be a great place. It costs 200 pecos entry but there are no fish. Apparently with the hurricane a few years ago, there are no longer any fish. This is a small cenote and seems somewhat dirty. It gets hoards of bus traffic. We did go snorkeling across the road and that was pretty decent. You have to go about 100m out to the right or left to find some nice coral features.
Jennifer S — Google review
Best time of my life here! Bring your snorkelling gear and do both sides of the street. When in the cenote, go through the rocks into the smaller part and continue to the end (don't worry it is safe). You can swim down there for an extra 10 minutes one way. It is actually prettier too! You feel like you are swimming in a jungle! I had the crocodile as food, it was fine. Heads up: all the choices at this restaurant are 15CUC so no savings here but there is a booth in the parking lot that offers sandwiches and good BURGERS for 3CUC!!! The ocean part is to die for. I saw huge schools of fish after only a few minutes. I personally liked the corals here, lots of colour and variety. Don't believe the Debbie Downers. There are over 20 dive sites within 10 minutes and many shipwrecks put there on purpose for our entertainment. This is snorkelling paradise! If you try a little you can even see monster groupers, come on, where else can do do all of this FOR FREE???????? Yes I did say free.

Crocks farm where you can see them, eat and take a picture with them 😎 Entrance is 5 USD per person, feeding crock is also 5 USD. Taking picture with small crocodile is 1 USD. Classic souvenir shops and in one store you can buy something from crocodile leather like belt or bracelet. On feeding point you can buy souvenir from crock’s 🦷.
Aleksandar A — Google review
Once a beautiful place, but now a dilapidated one. Missing tourists, crumbling equipment, broken boats and hungry crocodiles. When you start talking to the local workers, it is very sad and frustrating. At the restaurant I was first given an overpriced tourist menu and after a reproachful look I was given a half Cuban menu. Even the entrance fee to the farm is, according to the (offensive) Cuban tradition, more than 15 times higher for tourists than for locals.
Robur888 — Google review
We were lucky that the criadero (nursery) was practically empty when we visited. It as very hot, so avoiding delays caused by crowds was great. Very educational and well looked-after nature park with loads of Cuban crocodiles at every stage of development from hatchlings to enormous mature adults. Everything was explained to us in great detail and I learned something new about the Bay of Pigs invasion: A lot of the invading troops were killed and eaten by these crocodiles in the swamps around where we were standing. Typical outdoor public toilets, but this time the worst so far. No light, extremely humid, all urinalshadbeen smashed off the walls, no running water to either flush or wash one's hands, and still the matronly guardian of the toilet paper was outside with her wicher bowl! Lunch was included and OK, following the usual pattern of you eat what you're given, no choices and you pay for any drinks - not even water is included. After lunch, we were due to go on a boat trip around the swamp etc, to see the crocs, but it was far too hot and there was no cover on the smallish boat so we decided against going out on the water and barbecuing ourselves! All in all a good visit to see the animals.
Mark J — Google review
It was very interesting, I've never had such respect for crocodiles until i saw them in action for their meal :D Definitely recommend
Лъчезар А — Google review
Very good facilities! I didn’t expect that. You can the Cuban “version” of crocodile, an ancient fish which they try to reserve it before its distinction small crocodile, at a large facility There are shop and restaurants.
THEOFILOS K — Google review
Good place to see crocodiles. Gets very crowded in waves as each tour bus arrives. You have to pay to use the washrooms 1 CUCwhich would be ok if it had toilet seats, didn't smell so bad, was actually clean, and provided you with more than 2 sheets of toilet paper. You can pay to feed or hold a croc, 1 CUC.
Jerry M — Google review
We also only paid 5 CUC and got a drink for free. It was nice seeing the crocodiles. Hopefully for a good reason, as they stated, that they raise them because the crocodile babies otherwise die. Not so much to see otherwise.
Maurice — Google review
Excellent fun but bring lots and lots of sun anti mosquito spray and loose change in case you want to fishing rod-feed some crocs.

The dolphinarium turned out to be a 5 minute walk from grand muthu playa hotel where I lived. So we walked down. The dolphins are super friendly and an absolute pleasure to watch and play with. Such beautiful creatures and a real treat for children

50 CAD$ FOR 2 ADULTS+ 2 KIDS. 5$ each child for camel ride. June 2025. Few people. Shadow, 30 min show. Good for kids
Julia J — Google review
Nice show for kids. There are two shows per day, at 11:00 and 15:30. If you want to swimming with them, there are 3 slots per day, 9:30, 11:30, 16:00. Best is before show, in the morning. Bring the small bills EUR or USD. Entrance for two adults plus one swimming was 80 euros. Pictures and video are another 50 EUR (55 usd or 70 cad per price list). In bar you can buy a beer or lemonade, there is no water and espresso machine doesn’t work :-). Prices are 5 EUR/USD per any drink.

We flew with Air Canada but they dont offer excursions with Dolphins, so we Booked through Nexus Tours in our lobby to see a show and swim with the dolphins. It was $75 USD per person if we took the bus on our own, which was our only choice as the tour only offers pick up and drop off one day a week and we missed it. With direct transfers it would have been $90 USD. The hop on/hop off bus is $5 per person (USD or CAD cash) and it drops you off across the street. The Dolphin show itself is kind of short and its hard to see due to people standing at the fence instead of sitting in the bleachers during the show. The dolphins do some tricks and interact with the trainer which is really fun to watch. The dolphins look healthy and happy, despite the areas they live in not being big enough in my opinion. When it came time to swim with them, we were brought to a different section, told to change into our bathing suits and got a life jacket. My husband and I were with a group of two other women. There is NO opportunity for you to take pictures of your interaction on your own cameras unless you are with someone who is not also swimming. Anyone with you who is not swimming with them will be waiting on the dock and can take some photos/videos. However, the swimming is really just creating photo opportunities for the photographers. You get a kiss from the dolphins, touch their stomachs, they pull you around in a circle, you do a little jump and then do another circle and its essentially over. We did throughly enjoy the interaction and being in the water with them was really cool, but I do wish the importance was put on the experience of the customers and less on the photos. When you're finished, you rinse off and are told to go get your photos. You cannot buy individual photos, you need to buy the whole package. It was $50 USD or $65 CAD. They had no connection for credit cards and we were essentially told too bad. We pushed because we didn't bring cash (our mistake) and after about an hour someone came with a machine. We were charged $65 as Canadians...but our card was charged in USD so we paid $90 for the package instead. They should have charged us $50. So yep, we got scammed and didn't notice until we got back to our resort. Nexus tours was not helpful in correcting this. We got about 20 photos in total for two people and an 8 minute video including the experience of everyone else in the group. Overall, it was a good experience and I didn't feel bad for the dolphins and their conditions as an animal lover. Nothing felt cruel about their envirnment or treatment which I was nervous about. Mostly disappointed in the payment issue.

Paid $40 for family of 3 (two adults, one 4yo), our Spanish is basic but they were explaining everything in English, too. Pic with the dolphin cost $5 for one but both us took a pic. Show takes about 30min. There is really cool playground, too. The only minus...bathrooms. Don't let me start it...
Anna K — Google review
We tried to visit the place after reading the info on their website and my own personal experience from visiting the place years ago. Unfortunately, the price they charge is not what they advertised on their own website. It is not $60 but $83!!! We were shocked but when I showed them the info on their website, they did not acknowledge it and pretended that they knew nothing and the ticket is $83. This is an extortionate price for a few minutes in the water with the dolphins.
Farrokh H — Google review
Very very informal business. Few things to take into consideration: 1. If you don't speak Spanish, you better buy a tour in your hotel. If you speak Spanish and want to go to buy your tickets at the door, be ready to negotiate the price. The first price that I got was US$80 and I had to push the price down. 2. If you decide to swim with the dolphins, be aware that you cannot take pics but you will be forced to buy a package that includes pics (around 100) and a video. You will also need to negotiate the price as the first price is $US110. 3. The washroom is very dirty

Parque Josone, established in the 1940s, is a serene haven perfect for leisurely walks. The park features well-maintained gardens, charming fountains, and winding lakes surrounded by swaying palm trees. Visitors can enjoy bars and eateries as well as a swimming pool and pedal boat rentals in the connected lagoon. History enthusiasts will appreciate the mansions transformed into museums or public sites nearby.
This garden is just next to the Beatles Bar and Restaurant. It’s worth to visit. The environment is quiet and peaceful with beautiful scenery. It is very relaxing with a drink next to the lake.

During my trip to Cuba I visited Varadero 3 times, on each of my 3 trips this place was a must stop. The views are beautiful, the staff are lovely and the drinks are to die for. One of the bartenders said they had the best Pina Colada in Varadero, and I agree, it was definitely the best one I had! Love this park and cant wait to visit again on my next trip!

Wonderful place, very, very beautiful park, with amazing mini lake and awesome landscape, special thanks for wonderful bench, very nice view from top, and very good small bridges, very nice location, inside park few good restaurants and music club, with great music performance every day, i mean Beatles club, THANK YOU VERY MATCH AND GREATEST GRATITUDE FOR YOU DEAR PARK !!!!!!!

The parc ruined my wedding. We paid a big sum of money to use the bar in the parc as a private event. They did not respect that and allowed anyone in. The alcohol we had purchased disappeared very fast because random cubans who were not part of our wedding were drinking our alcohol, people who we didn't invite ate our wedding food. As the bride, I didn't eat at all because they forgot to make my food completely and then they shut it down hours earlier than what was in the contract. My husband had put his backpack behind the bar to keep it safe and someone stole it. Some random lady who was not part of the wedding let my 7 year old autistic kid get on the paddleboat without knowing who she belonged to, I caught that just in time and got her before she was completely on the boat. It was pitch black at that point. They didn't respect anything. Never book a wedding there.

Nice park for a walk or to go jogging in the morning. A couple of animals are running around and they have some nice restaurants and bars which open in the evening. The mini golf place is pretty messed up but I guess it is not active anymore, same for the pool at the back of the park.

Visitors can enjoy bartering with local vendors while browsing through the stalls filled with artisanal crafts such as wooden cigar boxes, straw bags, hats, and more.
Plenty of options to buy gifts and souvenirs for a good price, get them here before trying on the resort or airport. Airport is very expensive and the street market is very very fair. Nice market staff, friendly service. Bring peso!

Cueva de Saturno is a must-see natural swimming hole with crystal-clear waters, offering visitors the opportunity to swim, scuba dive, and snorkel in a cave filled with stalagmites. The enchanting spot also provides a peaceful ambiance for witnessing breathtaking sunsets. While Matanzas may lack beautiful beaches, nearby destinations like Varadero offer superb beach paradises.
This is a gorgeous cave with a refreshing swimming hole. FYI the water was decently chilly despite having gone in March. It is quite touristy so expect a plentiful crowd and a line to go down to the water. It is definitely a great activity to do if you find yourself in the area.

This was a pretty cool place to go! The water was lovely. The walk down is beautiful! We spent about 1.5 hours in the water exploring. When we were done we went up top and had drinks and food and then changed. The cave is a lot smaller that expected. It was very busy, I would suggest going in the morning! We were there for 2 hours and had about 30 minutes to ourselves then the buses from excursions came. They have spikes on the deck posts to hang your bags from. They have a life guard. We took a cab from our resort and asked if he could wait and take us home. We paid 80 CAD and we got two hours of swim time. Total time with him was 4 hours (The excursion was $75USA per person) this was saved us a lot of money. Things I wish I brought: - toilet paper - swim goggles - water proof flashlight for the cave
Shyanne K — Google review
A beautiful cave with clear turquoise fresh water. You can dive, swim or snorkel. The place is actually not big. We arrived at 9:30am so it wasn't that crowded. But I can imagine that it must be jam-packed in the middle of the day when it's hot outside and nice and cool in the cave.

This place was incredible!!!!!! The whole experience. That being said go alone and not with the excursion. I read that the excursion you only get so much time in the caves and it's expensive.. we took a cab from our resort. Paid $5 each to get in and swam for 30 mins or really as long as you want... the water temperature and colour are JUST AMAZING!!!! There is a small little bar where we got drinks! Also if you were already there check out PLAYA CORAL only 5 mins from there!!

I have been snorkeling before in Jamaica and this place was amazing! A definitely must do excursion! The staff was friendly, patient and knowledgeable. They had a team of two take you in, one in the front and one at the back. If it is your first time, let them know. You are in safe and capable hands. The person on the tail is constantly watching to make sure everyone is safe and all goes smoothly. Well done, I will definitely be back just for this!

The Cuevas de Bellamar, also known as the Bellarmar Caves, are a magnificent natural wonder that has been around for over 300,000 years. These spacious caves feature stunning stalactites and stalagmites, with a section of about 1km open to the public for tours. One of the highlights is a 12m tall stalagmite named Manto de Colon (Columbus mantle) and an underground stream.
This is a wonderful, scenic tour that is a great activity to get away from the scorching hot sun. Our tour guide was very informative and even went the extra mile to take photos for people. On site, there are bathrooms and two bars where you can purchase drinks and snacks. Due to the high humidity, it is quite slick in the cave so it would be beneficial to wear shoes that have good grip. I would recommend checking this place out.

Bellemare Cave is an excellent place to escape from the hot sun and explore something unique. If you’re planning to visit Varadero to Havana, it’s the perfect halfway stop, definitely worth a visit! The entrance fee is very low and it includes travel guide. Our tour guide, Eric, was amazing, he explained everything so well and really took care of the group throughout the visit. You can hire a photographer for an extra cost, but most smartphones capture great pictures too (just remember to buy a ticket if you plan to use your own device for photography). The cave itself is fascinating with beautiful natural formations, wonders of nature! The humidity is quite high inside, highly recommend wearing light clothing and well gripped shoes since the ground can be a bit slippery. Overall, we had a very cool and refreshing experience!

Not only being the largest and deepest cave system in Cuba, it is beautiful as well. You must join the guided tour to venture in. They accept US$ only. Our guide managed pretty well both the Spanish speaking and English speaking groups in one go. A must-go when you visit Cuba.

Amazing! We walked for 700m inside. Lots of cool cave formations. Their Tour guide was great. Kids enjoyed having their own flashlights to check out little tunnels etc, but would have been fine without it also. It wasn’t as physically demanding to climb in and out, someone of average fitness level can do it!

Fantastic tour of the caves that have Calcium carbonate crystals forming since years. Good tour for $5 plus $5 for bringing your camera. A must visit in Matanzas.
DrIrfanJ — Google review
This is an awesome experience but if you are claustrophobic and you can't walk a lot I wouldn't suggest this because there's only one way in and one way out and it's really beautiful it's just a lot of turns ups and downs and the stairs take forever to leave but overall for the price it's amazing and historical.
Diana G — Google review
Great place for exploring. Be prepared to sweat. If you are old bring a fan and water and your puffer if you have breathing problems. Also if you go down you need to go up so any mobility issues will be tested. I went with my mom and mother in law who are in their 60s and it was tough for them. If young and able I highly recommend it!

Santa Maria del Mar is a vibrant and trendy beach located about 12 miles from downtown Havana. It offers shallow waters for swimming, rental chairs and umbrellas, as well as a food and cocktail menu. The beach extends for approximately 4km with golden sands backed by grassland and palm trees. While it can be lively during the day, it becomes more boisterous after dark with beach parties. For families, taking a taxi is recommended over using the bus to reach the beach.
Paradise beach with crystal clear water and fine sand. The beach is located in East Havana, just a 30-40 minute ride from Havana's center. It is a local beach so on weekends it could be a little busy but on weekdays it is almost empty. Some sellers offer drinks and food. Overall, you will have a nice experience 😎

The guys that work there are attentive. You can rent chairs and umbrellas for 2 cuc. You also order food and they'll bring it right to you on the beach. The food itself was excellent albeit a little pricey. The first few feet in the water is sandy but after that it almost becomes like concrete and is very hard and rough. A nice beach all the same.

Went here for our last day in Cuba it was a pretty windy day but it was very hot! It was my first time seeing, hearing and touching the sea! (Very salty indeed lol) The sea made me feel better and relaxed. Melted away all my stress and worries. I love that I had the opportunity to play with the waves and feel like me again. The sun can really kiss your skin! My friend and I ordered a wonderful fish plate with rice and salad, and 2 bottles of water ($7,500cup in total) and coconut drinks (one with rum ($350cup), and one without rum ($300cup)) it was great I felt like I was at a Jamaican event but really and truly I'm at the beach in Cuba! I would love to come back to this beach again but this time with my family! 30min. from the hotel we're staying at but it was well worth it! It was a legit icing on top! Beach chairs are $100cup each, and umbrellas are $100cup each.

Went here way before the pandemic and I really enjoyed our trip here! Coming to Havana, Cuba and visiting the beach? Why not! Santa Maria Del Mar will be the perfect choice for you, beach lovers. My colleague and I really loved it when we got a chance to come and visit Playa Santa Maria del Mar. We booked the cool, pink taxi to take us here from our NH hotel in Havana. It took us around 45 minutes drive along the legendary route of Maleçon overlooking the coast of Havana. We really had fun enjoying the beach, great sunny day, and friendly people. When we arrived, it was around 11 and not many people were there. But we managed to enjoy fresh coconut water, playing around in the shallow beach, get ourselves cool hats and take tons of pictures. The beach is clean and you can rent the beach lounge and the umbrella lining on the shore. I forget how much the trip cost but I guess it was around USD 100 for both of us and the taxi took us back to the city and dropped us at the Museum of the Revolution, Museo de la Revolucion. And the last surprise that I love from our trip to the beach is the purple vintage car I saw parking there on the beach! Super cute indeed! Make sure you bring your change when you want to dip in the water. I didn't use the toilet but I saw toilet and showers nearby. If you want to buy or order something, make sure you ask the price first and clearly. I really had fun there and although we didn't really stay for too long, it was a lovely trip!

Once the site of gory public spectacles including executions, it has now transformed into a vibrant and colorful space.
A very nice square, especially during the day. There are always some events taking place here. Many restaurants and cafes are located here. A wonderful place to be during the day; a nightmare at night if you’re living right next to it! People don’t sleep, once the music is done late at night, drunk people start fighting and dogs start barking! Lots is going on this place 😓 though I like the day vibes and architecture of this square.

Driving an antique car, listening to Habana music and taking a stroll through the old town of Habana is definitely a life enjoyment.

Plaza Vieja is one of the most beautiful and lively squares in Havana, surrounded by stunning colonial buildings and filled with vibrant cafes, restaurants, and art galleries. The architecture is impressive, and there’s a lot to explore in the area. However, be mindful of the sun, especially during midday. The square has limited shade, so it can get quite hot. I recommend visiting in the morning or late afternoon, and be sure to bring a hat, sunscreen, and water to stay comfortable. Despite the heat, it’s a must-visit spot to soak in the atmosphere of Old Habana
Josep V — Google review
Beautiful plaza with colonial style buildings surrounding the plaza and brick paved. There are several restaurants and bars in and around the plaza definitely a must visit. You can see the buildings and surroundings have been beautifully renovated. Just beware of the usual scams and beggars that may approach you.
R F — Google review
This is described as a visual feast, showcasing a blend of architectural styles baroque to Art Nouveau, each with its unique character. Some have stained-glass windows and arched structures and along with this being the main Havana Square makes it a great place. However in the past it witnessed public events like executions, processions, and bullfights. Unfortunately some of the more iconic features were abolished apparently in the late 1930’s. Plus, this is one of the main places to get wifi connections in the weird way to access the internet in Cuba.

Plaza de la Catedral, located in Old Havana, is the original city center close to the bay. It features baroque and neoclassical buildings along narrow cobblestone streets, including landmarks like the City Museum, Havana Cathedral, La Fuerza Fortress, and El Templete. The plaza is bustling with museums, bars, restaurants, and food stands.
This is a must see in Havana city,Cuba. One of the oldest places with the most history in Cuba. The surrounding areas are very beautiful as well and very clean. It has been a while since my last visit and can see that the state has done a lot of work keeping up the Old Havana alive.

Beautiful plaza in Havana in front of the cathedral de la Virgen Maria. Nice place to take pictures and visit one many churches in the area. The architecture has been well preserved. This is a touristic place so it is very safe but can be crowded depending on the time of visit.
Oliver — Google review
This a big square right around the Cathedral of Havana. It is best to go early in the morning, when there are not many people. There are a few men who just want to impose their classic cars rides. Other than that, you can relax and explore the area.
Reza N — Google review
One of the best landmarks in old Havana. Beautiful old cathedral. You can find Old women dressed in traditional clothes that are diviners sitting right next to the Chatedral. It also worth going inside, there no waiting or lines, the entrance is also free. But be respectful and beware that there might be Mass at the time of your visit.
Jean S — Google review
Beautiful plaza. The main cathedral is gorgeous as well although it's not open to tourists, at least not during my visit. A couple of museums nearby and restaurants as well. A bit pricey just to keep in mind since you'll be paying in CUC as a tourist.

Great Plaza. Gives you a medieval feeling. Also the Cathedral is very impressive from the inside, just like Italian Cathedrals!

A must see in Habana. One of the best architectural samples of the Cuban Heritage. The sunlight turn the colour of the stone and the finishings in a super realistic image. You will be back in time in the age of conquisitadores. Authentic experience, do not miss this spot!

Revolution Square

Sights & Landmarks
Revolution Square is a significant site in Havana, Cuba, known for its vast plaza and as the location of many presidential addresses. It features monuments dedicated to Cuban revolutionary heroes. The square holds historical significance as it was the central location for many branches of the regime's government and showcases artwork honoring notable Cubans involved in the revolution. The area has deep political ties and serves as a reminder that Castro's Cuba is still very much alive.
Revolution Square (Plaza de la Revolución) is a place filled with history and significance. Standing in such an iconic location, surrounded by monumental buildings and the famous images of Che Guevara and Camilo Cienfuegos, really brings the history of Cuba to life. However, be prepared for the intense heat if you visit during the day. The square is vast and mostly uncovered, so the sun can be quite harsh. I recommend bringing water, a hat, and sunscreen to stay comfortable while taking in the powerful atmosphere of this historic site.
Josep V — Google review
Revolution Square has great historical significance. Here you can see the image of Chegevara and the image of Chienfuegos on two different buildings. It is very spacious, in fact, there are no additional activities. But it is recommended to visit.
Aleksandra N — Google review
Revolution Square is a primary location to visit when you travel to Havana. It's got a huge space with a monument on the northern side. The wall murals of Che and Camilo are on the opposite side of the square. It is said that in the middle of the square, in the empty area, a million people can fit standing.
Reza N — Google review
Nice plaza we stop on the car tour for some pictures and our driver took this incredible pictures for us .

The monuments are of Castro and Geuvara on the side of the buildings, just a parking lot distance from the Jose Marti monument. We saw both attractions while on a classic car ride in Havana.

Actually Revolution Square, is both a municipality and a square in Havana, Cuba. It is is situated in the Vedado neighborhood, overlooking the Malecón and offering great views of the sea and the city. It has been visited by many celebrities over the years. We enjoyed a stroll around plus the view.

Loved coming here this was a historical place in the history of cuba in this very spot many cubans have witnessed fidel castro do his speech which lasted over 7hrs. The area is a good place to stop and take a look around at the local buildings and famous landmarks. lots of the old classic cars stop here and this is a good place to see more of them in one place.

Massive square which want to celebrate the greatness of Cuba. There are several points of interest such as the monument to Jose Martin, considered the real father of Cuban people’s power. The wall to Camillo Cinfuegos and to Ernesto Che Guevara. The square has been gathered more than one million people during the speeches of Fidel Castro and also during the visit of Popes John Paul II in 1998 and Francis In 2015. For sure it deserves a visit.

Fusterlandia, located in Havana's Jaimanitas neighborhood, is a vibrant and whimsical public art installation created by local artist José Fuster. Often referred to as the 'Picasso of the Caribbean,' Fuster has adorned the area with colorful mosaics, sculptures, and paintings that depict snapshots of Cuban culture and history. The neighborhood is characterized by its naive art style, featuring almost cartoonish images that showcase everyday life and historical events of the Cuban Revolution.
Such a cool little homage to Gaudi! ~20-30 minutes west of Havana - must come and check out the amazing tiles and artwork all around this area. You can also go into little shops where folks are painting or making souvenirs. We stopped here on the way to Vinales, but you can use the Hop-on-off bus route 2. There is a 100 CUP entry per person.
Lutz S — Google review
Certainly worth a visit if you are interested in art. You can like this kind of “Cuban Picasso” art, but you don't have to. The vendors outside and the typical Cuban “pay to pee” are a little annoying. Plan 30 to 45 minutes for the look around. Definitely a nice change of pace.
Lobo F — Google review
An interesting part of Havana, just 30 minutes from the city center. It is very interestingly done, with a lot of various details. The ticket is only 100 Cuban pesos. A lot of small shops are also located here for the purchase of various souvenirs, paintings, sculptures.
Aleksandra N — Google review
Is it worth visiting? Yes it is . The validity of Picasso and Antoni Gaudi in the west part of Havana is extraordinary. For a hint, head west from the central park of Havana to the seemingly low-key district of Jaimanitas, where artist José Fuster has turned his birthplace and his neighborhood into a masterpiece of intricate tile work and kaleidoscopic colors . It looks a lot like Güell Park in Barcelona. He has embraced the environment and has made it his. Thanks for that...

Went here in 2019 as a part of a excursion tour and it was an amazing experience. I loved the art, the culture and everyone that we encountered were welcoming. My friend and I stopped to have some Cuban coffee at a shop set up in the middle of it. Great experience!

This place has been designed elegantly and worth to visit for 50 pesos. But would not takes more than 1 hour and I recommend to combine with aquarium. HAVE TAXI WITH YOU DURING THE VISIT AS YOU CAN NOT FIND TAXIS THERE. We stall 1 hour to take a taxi. There is a see food near by (Santy Pescador) which worth to visit.

A must do :) at 20 mins from Havana downtown. Super beautiful site to see if the artist Mr. Fuster. You a few to pay at the entrance and some artisanal shop beside the site with some beautiful paintings. They also provide you with a video in all the languages to explain the art.

Waterfalls
The Soroa waterfall, also known as "El Salto de Soroa," is a stunning natural attraction located in the town of Soroa, Pinar del Rio province. Nestled in the southern slope of the Sierra Rosary within the Guaniguanico mountain range, this picturesque waterfall descends from an altitude of about 200 meters with a drop height of 30 meters, creating the River Springs or Rainbow of Cuba.
Beautiful waterfall, and scenery...make sure you wear swimming shoes the rocks are slippery.
Light N — Google review
The Soroa Waterfall is a truly beautiful spot, surrounded by lush nature and a calm, relaxing environment. When I visited, the place was almost empty, which made the experience even more peaceful and enjoyable. The sound of the water and the scenery make it a perfect place to disconnect and appreciate nature. That being said, the walk from the road to the waterfall takes about 20–25 minutes, and the path is not in great condition. It has steep ups and downs, uneven steps, and areas that could be unsafe, especially for elderly visitors, children, or anyone with mobility difficulties. Improving and securing the trail would make the waterfall more accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Overall, it’s a stunning natural attraction that is worth visiting, but there’s definitely room for improvement in the infrastructure.

Great place for an afternoon walk. You can even jump on the river to cool off. We visited in December and it was very quiet.
Adam K — Google review
The landscape is absolutely amazing, the vegetation, mountains, rocks etc. You can even see some birds, some rarer then others, The river is beautiful, as is the whole area. But do not expect so much from the waterfall, it's not so big or imposing. Still worth the time spend and the quite big walk, in high humidity and temperatures! We went in July....
Joao P — Google review
This waterfall can be reached by road and thereafter it is a short walk up to reach the different levels of lakes and falls. It is a nice relaxing place, and many people take a dip in the pools, although the water is rather fresh. To reach the Soroa falls, the short toad from Trinidad to the falls is closed, unfortunately. This means a long round away route needs to be taken to get to the falls
Ewald H — Google review
Just a short walk takes you to Majestic little waterfall. The spot is enjoyed by both the locals, and tourist a like. Long the hike you will find bars to buy both alcohol and food. There is a small fee to enter the waterfall area.
Jessica D — Google review
In April/May the waterfall had not so much to see because in dry season not that much water. But this lovely natural location is being spoiled by locals playing loud music, organizing BBQ. It is more a picnic area then a touristic sight seeing

Cayo Levisa, situated on the north coast of Pinar del Rio, is a picturesque small island known for its stunning white-sand beaches and excellent snorkeling and diving opportunities. This idyllic destination has attracted tourists since Ernest Hemingway discovered it in the 1940s. Visitors can access the island by a short boat ride from Palma Rubia, enjoying the bright Cuban sun and vibrant blue waters along the way.
Lovely beach with limited access by the ferry (1 per day) so it's pleasantly quiet. Separation of zones between the hotel guests and the day trip tourists. Buffet for day trip tourist was ok. If you book the day trip from vinales with buffet lunch is 47 CUC per person. You could also choose a "lunch box" instead with around 33 CUC.

Beach is beautiful, lovely water. But to get here you have to get a ferry which is 35 CUC pp (35$ each approx) you get a nice lunch and a water or soft drink. You can spend the day here but it is expensive better stay in an airbnb nearby 10 min walk from the port (we stayed in villa gustavo y mary and it was ace!)

Good beach, good lunch, but unless you LOVE the beach, you might not like it. The photo is from snorkeling.
Colby G — Google review
The Beach is great. Unfortunaltely the rooms are not as clean as expected and some of the facilities are decayed. I did not expect luxury rooms as in USA or Europe, but a clean floor, mold free rooms and clean towels is a minimum requirement to get good review. Despite the negative things the place is good to relax for a few days.

Beautiful beach and 'mangrove', dull food but choice is available, amazing walk to the punta arenas beach. The room's quality vary enormously from one to the other. The first one we got was smelling bad and looked very old. They changed it for a much nicer one when we asked. They have a broad range of activities which are not available every day (due to weather) so keep it in mind and do the ones you fancy as soon as possible.

We took day trip from Vinales for 39 CUC/per person(bus+boat+ packed lunch) it was worth it. Great beach, much more relaxed and chilled comparing to Cayo Jutias. Beach chairs included in the price
