El Faro is undeniably a beautiful and iconic spot with incredible views and a rich history. The natural surroundings are stunning, and it’s definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area. However, I was a bit disappointed with the current accessibility situation. I completely understand and respect the decision to restrict vehicle access in order to protect the environment and preserve the area for future generations. That said, it would make a big difference if some form of transportation was available to help visitors reach the lighthouse or the beach....especially considering how far the walk can be under the hot sun. Not everyone is physically able to make the full trip on foot, and this lack of accessibility makes it harder for families with children, elderly visitors, or people with mobility challenges to enjoy the experience. Even something as simple as a shuttle or electric cart service would be incredibly helpful. Overall, El Faro remains a special place, but I hope the management considers ways to improve access without compromising the area's natural beauty.

Beautiful view from the lighthouse cliff! The hike itself is fine, but if you’re coming after rain, be prepared—your shoes will get muddy, as the path from the parking lot to the lighthouse can be nothing but mud. Still, the view is absolutely worth it! As Ukrainians from the occupied territory of Ukraine-Crimea, these cliffs remind us so much of our own breathtaking coastline back home. Thank you, Puerto Rico, for giving us a glimpse of that beauty again.

Such an awesome place to explore! We drove here while staying in Rincon, PR. While all of Peurto Rico offers amazing places and breathtaking views, I think Faro Los Morrillos is something special. The drive wasn't bad to get there and it's just a short walk from the parking lot to some of the most beautiful shoreline we've seen. The lighthouse was super cool and the cliffs make for spectacular photos. we also liked the fact that the area was not crowded at all. we saw a few bicyclists and just a handful of people walking in and around the property. walked along the cliffs and enjoyed the views for a couple hours. Just amazing! Tip: Read the warning signs as the views can draw you in to a dangerous situation. Stay away from the edges and don't try to climb down, some of the edges have been known to break off and fall into the sea. Also, the winds can get pretty high at times. If you have children, I suggest keeping them very close and far back from the edge. I would love to come back someday. It is absolutely breathtaking!

Not for the faint of heart or physically challenged. The view is spectacular, the crabs, birds Iguana, and lizards are abundant. It's a bit of a walk from parking and and even longer walk to the lighthouse. If you can do it, you should.

Visiting El Faro Los Morrillos in Cabo Rojo was an unforgettable experience! Unfortunately, during our trip, the beach was unusablely covered in seaweed. The walk wouldn’t have been bad if we got to cool off in the water at the beach, but walking 50 minutes straight in the heat for nothing was rough. The salt flats were cool but not worth the drive. I can see it would be very beautiful if not for the seaweed.

Cars are not allowed after a gate so you have to walk a lot to get to the lighthouse and somehow to the beach which we didn't go because it was so hot and after getting to the lighthouse we were exhausted. Plus you got to think of the walk back to your vehicle. It is very disappointing that there are parking signs and you have to walk all that. Why are cats not allowed inside??? The entrance to the beach before parking is nasty, I see why is called playa sucia. Now, we didn't get to the actual beach but someone said it was full of seaweed so maybe if you come another time, you could see the "beautiful" beach.

Unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the beach as it was full of algae. The walk there was pretty nice if you like nature and don’t mind the heat. It’s about 30 min walk from the parking. You can see many birds like pelicans and smaller animals like hermit crabs. It’s a bird paradise, we just don’t know enough birds. There are some smaller cliffs just before getting to the beach. And an old light house that is pretty to look at. If you are adventurous you’ll probably like it. Don’t forget a sun hat, water and sunglasses.

Long hike but worth it! We went early and there weren't many people yet so we got a nice shady place in the trees. On our way out lots of people heading in. Parking sucks but seriously so beautiful. Picked up some trash on our way out. Remember to keep it clean. Made some hermit crab friends! Bring a sun shirt and hat for the walk!

Stunning place to come visit. A must of on this side of the island. The water is calm, clear, and perfect temperature! Plenty of hiking trails up to the lighthouse as well.

Plan a short walk into a beautiful beach. Lots of seaweed on about 50% of the beach. But the water color is beautiful. Took a hike up the cliffs, saw a sea turtle and fish. Beautiful vista views, turquoise waters, very calm water for kids with a gentle slope. No waves! Lots of shade trees up on the beach. Hermit crabs were fun to see and lots of birds. This is a nature.preserve so don't expect any amenities. Pack in and pack out trash. Keep it clean!

Beautiful beach! Very warm water but it gets deep very close to shore, and it’s full of rocks in that part. Very big beach with lots of shade. Gets very busy around noon so it’s better to go early, parking is on the road and can be very hard to find a spot. After parking is a 20 minute walk to the beach. Very with it! Wouldn’t recommend for swimming a lot.

This was a lovely spot! The water was clean and clear, and it was a good balance of sand and rocks. Parking is on the side of the road which is always an adventure, visitors are a mix of locals and surfers; the restaurants and shops give it a social vibe. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice it was and would go back.

Family friendly. Surf competition. Great snorkel spot. Reef and corral wear water shoes and definitely snorkel you won't be sad you did.

My visit to Playa Los Jobos was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The beach has a laid back, local vibe perfect if you’re looking to avoid heavy tourist crowds and enjoy something more authentic. The water was warm and calm, great for a peaceful swim or just lounging near the shore. There are shaded spots under palm trees and space to set up chairs or a small picnic. I noticed a mix of locals and visitors, and the overall atmosphere felt safe and friendly. You can smell the sea, hear the waves, and just let time slow down a bit. There aren’t too many amenities right on the beach, so it’s smart to bring your own food, drinks, and beach gear. That said, some nearby food trucks and kiosks were serving up delicious Puerto Rican bites especially fried snacks and fresh seafood. It’s not the flashiest beach on the island, but that’s part of the charm. If you’re looking for a calm, no fuss beach day with beautiful views and real island vibes, Playa Los Jobos is worth a visit.

One of the best beaches on the island!! Sort of like a cove with shallow and calm waters which is great for kids, but past the sandbar the waves are rougher and you can watch surfers. The beach is lined with restaurants and bars and there’s even a jungle gym for kids. Highly recommend spending the day here!

Good surfing beach, not so much for swimming. When the waves are up pretty strong current. There is a decent shallow area for bathing, but keep an eye out for the current. Lots of restaurants and bars and parking is a real challenge. Get there early.

Awesome beach, very clean and lots of amenities. There is an area to swim, however major signs of rip waves. When high tide comes in, be careful. If you see the red flag for swimming conditions, don’t bother swimming. They also have lifeguards on duty now. It wasn't a thing a year ago. You will see surfers to the left of the beach.

A good clean beach with plenty of food and drink outlets. Good for surfing, but on that note, watch for rip currents. Stay within the marked area for swimming.

This was an incredible dive. We did the discover scuba with Nayda and then were able to explore the deep beautiful ocean off the coast of Guánica. Nayda was very descriptive and my gf and I who were first timers got the hang of it and she made us feel safe. She was also sure to point out lots of marine life we would have otherwise missed such as sharks, lobster, lion fish, eel, and many other fish. Pedro was a great captain and host as well. Can’t wait to come back to PR and go back to Island Scuba!

I had the chance of diving with Island Scuba on my last trip to PR. 3 days and 6 amazing dives. They made it very easy to schedule the dives and even when I was the only diver during the slow weekdays, they did not cancel on me which I appreciated very much. My dive guide Pedro was very knowledgeable of the dive site and we went to amazing sites along The Wall. We got to see caribbean reef sharks on every deep dive and it was a nice surprise to find a lot of life and fairly healthy coral reef ecosystem in the wall and during our shallow dives. Overall I would recommend Island Scuba to anyone looking for a great Scuba diving experience in PR. Do believe it is more suitable for experienced (at least AOW or deep certification) who are comfortable with being fairly independent during the dive

I've dove with Island Scuba now a couple of times and they are the best. Both Nayda and Pedro are awesome guides -- kind and friendly, super knowledgable of the area, the wildlife, and the best dive sites in Guánica. On my most recent dives, we saw so many Caribbean Reef Sharks, many different species of fish and invertebrates, stingray, and even dolphins. Unforgettable dives every time! Can't wait to dive with them again.

Fantastic experience ! We dove with the lemon sharks on the wall and it was very impressive, NATGEO worthy and world class. I would suggest this shark dive is for experienced divers. Second dive on the reef was fabulous. The visibility was not the greatest that day (according to the crew) but I found it to be good. Lots of reef life, great variety. Might I add I run my own dive operation and dive most every day and this outfit impressed me. As Arnold would say : "I'll Be Back!"

- Wall and reef--many carib sharks--i read this is the best part of the island --Bring your own water and snacks--Yes its true Pedro wont baby you and youre left on your own to dive and regulate air but its because hes trying to catch you some fresh snapper and lobster to take home

I loved the personal attention that we received during our dive with Island Scuba! Pedro showed us some amazing sights during our dives and was amazingly patient with all of us during our trip. I highly encourage using them for your dive needs if you are in the area!

Absolutely love diving with this out outfit. I've done 10 dives. Nothing fancy here just a super experienced crew taking you to the best of what Puerto Rico has to offer! They don't have crackers or water but I didnt come here for that, I came to see sharks and have a great time diving! I can't wait for the next time!

There absolutely has been a boat that to take you here despite what I just read in someone else's review. Google said the restaurant is temporarily closed now, we bought tickets from the San jacinta restaurant and purchased food from there that later was taken to Gilligan's Island and dropped off for us at lunch by boat. You buy the ticket, they'll take you over to Gilligan's Island on a boat and leave you for several hours. I don't remember how many hours maybe it was 4 or 5. There may be a lot of people there but it was a very large area and you won't get too close to anyone else. It's a mangrove Island so there's lots of little trails and shallow water to wade around in. The water was extremely clear and we snorkeled as there was a lot of small fish, hermit crabs and a couple of jelly fish.

THERE IS NO BOAT TO TAKE YOU THERE. ISLAND IS OPEN AND YOU CAN GO THERE IF YOU CAN FIND A WAY. can rent jet ski at beach and do guided tour and they will take you there. Was there today 7-7-24

Truly love this place... Arrive early & bring your own picnic or take the boat they provide food at the.... dock bace. They have place to r rinse off the sand and changing rooms.

The island is beautiful. The staff is slow and rude . Waiting time till u get in to the boat was over 2 hours. At the heat with the kids. The could've have 2 boats or 3 at least and the let you wait like 30 minutes to load the food for delivery at the same boat. So un professional and unorganized and its not free so its definitely ur paying for realy bad service.

Sadly the island is closed. Only the restaurant is open. Was lucky to have had the opportunity to visit this island in 2019. Hopefully they will open again.

I want to give this more stars, but it just wasn’t exactly what we expected from the reviews and other information we saw prior. The ferry out does not run as frequently as we thought (only once per hour). Once dropped off, there were limited areas you could explore without a kayak. It might be possible to snorkel/swim around more of the outside but I was nervous to do that without any idea of the depth. I reached areas quickly where I could not touch on tiptoe (I am 5’6”). I would strongly recommend bug spray here — my husband got eaten up badly. I did see a few small fish and some iguanas, but not much else. Many paths appear to still need cleaned up post Maria. We’re glad we checked it out, but it is not a must see.

The tour guy was knowledgeable! I suggest you wear some good slip resistant shoes since the walk ways are damp or wet! Also bring some type of gloves if you choose to hold onto the rails going down the caves and back up due to bat droppings that fall on the rails! If you have any knee issues I wouldn’t recommend this tour!

Absolutely worth the trip, the cave was stunning and the walk to get there was beautiful. That said, be prepared to walk to the cave, it's about a ten/fifteen min trek down since the grounds no longer have trams. They do however have carts for the disabled/children. Bring a little flashlight but be cognizant of those around you, it's dark and slippery, lights can be blinding. And please, be respectful. When the guide says "don't touch", don't. There's a reason these rules are in place. Keep these places as pristine as we can. People in my group didn't and it's tourists like them that will ruin things for everyone else. Enjoy, tip your guides!

I was told I had to make a reservation, but when I try to make a reservation the park told me that's only for 15 people or more. I do recommend getting there early when they open. Be prepared to walk and if you get there early then the heat and sun shouldn't be to bad. Our tour guide was great. She was funny and very informational. You can tell she likes what she does. Bring water and wear sneakers. The kids had a great time. This is a must to do.

We had a great time. Be early, we went before 11 am and we got a spot for 1pm. Our tour guide was excellent. Wear comfortable cloth and shoes. It's very slippery (inside the caves) and at the time we went was very hot and humid. You have to walk a lot to go down to the caves and back. Although they have transportation for people with any health condition or small kids. The caves are beautiful. You need a flashlight, we forgot that and no one told us to have or buy one. You can pay cash or with debit or credit card. Wish, more areas were opened. The tour guide explained to us that only a 15% is open due to shortage in employees due to the government economic issues. Overall is a great experience with nature. Our kids love it!

This is a nature's marvel and a must visit caverns system in Camuy Puerto Rico. The trip to the park is absolutely worthwhile. However, some disorganization was observed as the tours were running late. We arrived at 9:00 am but could not start the tour until past 11. One possible explanation is that it rained the day before and the tours were cancelled. The long walk to the caverns was worthy to be able to experience the majesty of this natural formation. The guided tour was in English and Spanish and very well explained. I highly recommend this experience but you must be there very early as entrance to the park is not guaranteed due to rain or number of visitors.

We started with an early morning tour that took about 2 hours. We were given hard hats and audio to listen to during our tour. We were with a large group, over 50 people. We rarely could hear our tour guide, which is why I am rating 4 stars. We were also left behind frequently because she would stop and speak to the front half of the group that could fit, then they would move forward and the rest of the group could see what she was looking at and take photos. It was still overall an enjoyable experience and a beautiful cave. I had some difficulties as the cave has 100% humidity. Also the trail to the cave is downhill about a 25-30 minute walk. The heat index with humidity was 110, so walking up hill in the heat was rough for me personally with asthma. I ended up sick afterward.

This attraction has seen better days. It needs to be revamped and allotted some resources to make it what it once was. First the good; EXCELLENT guides. These people know all about the flora and fauna and wildlife along the path down to the cave, as well as the history of the local area and wildlife around. They're polite, mostly bilingual, and extremely friendly. Here's where they need to devote some resources to: This used to be a ride down in a trolley to the cave. It's now a walking tour, which is easy on the way down, but the way up, not so much. It's evident as you walk along the paved path and down into the cave system that it's a bit run down and needs some improvements. Additionally, there used to be a whole other cave you were taken to, but this is no longer the case. As I understand it, this is because of the damage from one of the hurricanes that ravaged the island years ago. It's still a fascinating tour and the scenery is incredible, but it really has HUGE potential to be much better, and I really hope to see it improve.

Absolutely incredible tour- we are so glad we rented a car and made the 1.5hr trip from San Juan! Edwin was so knowledgeable so caring, a few people were very inexperienced kayakers and they had no problem- I’d recommend this excursion to anyone and everyone. There was some physical aspects but nothing too intense! Do a Batey Cave Kayak Tour when you are in Puerto Rico and you get a partial spa day as well!

Oh my goodness, this was my favorite adventure of our Puerto Rico trip and should be a must-do on everyone’s list! Beautiful caves and lush surroundings in a place that feels untouched and serene. Our guide, Edwin, who grew up exploring the area and playing in the Tanama River, was so friendly and knowledgeable. He even stopped and made us face masks out of volcanic clay. I was not expecting a spa treatment in the middle! Lol The tour was just the right amount of activity to make us feel like we worked for the experience but not so much that we were exhausted after.

We had an absolutely amazing cave kayak experience with Batey Adventures. Our guide Edwin was so knowledgeable and provided very interesting cultural and ecological context to our trip. The river, forest, and cave are very special spaces. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip. I would highly recomend it and Edwin!

Our group had such a good time with our guide Pito. He was professional and hands down the most down to earth and friendly guide I have ever had an experience with. He was knowledgeable about the local flora, fauna, and history, and he shared his insights in a way that was both engaging and entertaining. He really made the experience one we will never forget!! We had an incredible time on this excursion. It was perhaps one of the best excursions we’ve ever been on. Edwin was a fantastic guide. The cave tubing was awesome, also the swimming and cliff jump afterwards was really cool. We really loved it and would recommend it.

What an amazing trip. Great for tweens, teens and families. Edwin was a great guide. And Matias cafe was delish. They sell out everyday before 2 it’s so good.

I was incredibly impressed with the information and tour I was given at Batey Adventures. Edgar is an amazing, kind and knowledgeable guide. Be sure to know that if you're not mildly fit, it's a lot of physical activity and you walk down and up an actual mountain. Beautiful experience and place. Guaranteed. 5 stars.

I had the privilege of visiting the center the day when they first reopened it to the public after the collapse, years ago. Regretfully, it looks like its closed again but the experience I did have was pleasant. Cool presentations, very knowledgeable and passionate staff. Frankly, seeing that massive dish is staggering. Truly a tragic fate.

Really wished the museum/exhibits area was open. We came in with the hope to see some remains of the radio telescope. Like rightly pointed by many here, the observatory area is closed and the best you get is a picture of the remaining dish and two pillars from far far away. Unless you enjoy the ride to the observatory through winding small roads along the countryside, there is really nothing to see here right now.

It's still closed, but it's a cool stop for those who know its significance.

At about 1 and 1/2 hrs from San Juan, and going up steep and narrow roads, the observatory is open and welcomes everyone to visit. The visitor center is open and you can see the dish. It is a sad view if you love science, but it's also a must as it puts things into perspective. Also it's so massive, and no picture will ever do the honors to it. A must if you visit PR and love science.

While it will never be repaired again it was still incredible to see the once largest ground satellite in person. It is NOT stroller friendly as you can see with the stairs but we were fortunate the observatory staff gave us a lift up the hill. Very knowledgeable staff on all things about the satellite.

Awesome place to visit even though the big radio telescope is damaged. The little museum inside is small but we'll maintained and the staff is very friendly. There is a very nice visitor presentation about the site's history in the auditorium.

I was surprised to see the visitor center open and in great shape. Yes, the big scope is broken and mostly removed, but there is still science going on there. Honestly, the story of the place is more interesting now more than when it was whole. Definitely worth the visit, and the next time you watch Goldeneye, you can say "been there".

I haven't been here in years due to it being closed. Now only open on Fridays, and they are still renovating the first floor. There are 70 pieces from the museum in Dallas, Texas. I'll need to make a trip soon.

The museum is partially closed due to damage from the earthquake two years ago. They have a small exhibit of artworks that were very beautiful and interesting. Our tour guide was very thorough and informed. I would love to visit when the entire museum is open again.

Definitely a few hours is not enough to enjoy this museum! It is gorgeous!!! From the architecture of the building itself to the art inside! The souvenir shop is slightly expensive but don't miss it!!!! I would recomend you to call prior so you can get a tour guide. Also: if you're a student with a valid ID you get a discount! If you're going to Ponce don't miss the museum!!! P.S all the paintings, particularly scenery ones look way better live!

A real gem for art lovers. European masters and Puerto Rican artists prominently featured. From the front desk representatives to the tour guides, guards and gift shop staff you will encounter pure professionalism and pride in their beautiful museum. Definitely worth the trip from San Juan.

We arrived an hour before closing, but as it was going to be our obl chance to see the collection we bought tickets to see the permanent collection only. I guess you can buy a more expensive ticket to see visiting exhibits. We spent the majority of the hour viewing only one small section of the collection. With 10 minutes left we went upstairs to be informed there was another ENTIRE floor of art work. Most of the second floor was older religious related works. Which were amazing, as I raced around and saw them... When we return to PR we will set an entire day to visit.

One of the best experience related to art. You can see some of the best Puerto Rican art with a tuch of peace and quite. They have special section every now and then you need to pay for that part of the museum extra. In my opinion its worth the money because they have usually intresting activities related to that art section.

Marine supply store, pretty well stocked. Most basic things will be found, along with some more esoteric items.

Paradise on earth. This is such a beautiful place one hour from Puerto Rico. If you have time, definitely make a stop here. You should be able to spend a couple of hours observing the breathtaking views and taking exceptional pictures. You’re debating whether we should go there or not, but luckily, we decided to go and will definitely go again if we get a chance

This is am important place for the world. It preserves the history of our ancestors. Unfortunately there are some very dishonest people who put up extensive barriers and barricades and tell people they have to pay $10 per person to see what is a public right. It's gross and I didn't stand for it. I walked right by and saw all this splendor for free. They screamed at me but I kept smiling and walking right on by. I didn't park in the parking lot. I didn't use any of their services; I just saw what I have a right and a duty to see. It was beautiful and inspiring. I highly recommend a visit but be prepared to be unjustly charged by a scoundrel, or just smile and observe and prepare for a very hostile response.

Very nice reserve close to Arecibo. Definitely worth your time. Went on a Sunday late afternoon. Few things rocking this down from a 5 star rating: area around it a bit sketchy, costs $10 a person to enter (not big money, but the principle of paying for something that seems like it should be free), the attendant a little rude, they close at 5 PM, and I have seen lots similar lanscapes in my travels. Really good; just not great. Do suggest wearing sneakers as the rocks are fairly jagged. The arches area the best part of it. And the beach close to the entrance has nice tide pools. Spent about 45 mins, which seems like a reasonable amount of time for just about all. And not really much hiking involved, and the inclines can be handled by older crowd as I saw several such individuals at the top. Good breezes and not too hot on a early-ish November day.

There was a $10 entrance fee per person but it was totally worth it! It was beautiful, and a lot to explore and see on the rocks. I definitely recommend sneakers. But there's lots of neat photo ops throughout the place.

Must-visit place while you’re in PR! The entrance fee (including parking) is $10. The view is amazing from every side, both inside and outside of the cave. Unfortunately, I couldn’t explore deeper inside as a 5’2” woman with short arms and legs lol — I freaked out because the rocks were so slippery, and I couldn’t reach side to side. But you can still easily see traces of the Taíno people!

I see a lot of people complaining about paying $10 pp to park, but it’s not a parking fee - it’s the entrance fee, and believe me, it’s worth it. Before you enter, there’s a guy who will tell you everything about the place and show you different routes (where to go first, what to do after, what not to do etc). Unfortunately, the petroglyphs are barely visible on the surface of the cave. If you wanna see them, you have to go down through a small hole. But beware - it’s not for everyone! When we were there, many people tried, but nobody managed to do it. You have to be really fit because not only do you have to lift yourself up and climb into that little hole, but you also have to fit through it. For me, it was a definite NO. However, don’t get discouraged, because this place has sooo much to offer, and the landscape is so beautiful that you really don’t need to go through that tiny hole to enjoy your experience here. There are also many cool blue lizards running around in this area.

Gorgeous views!! Make sure to wear gym shoes, it is rocky and you do not want to hurt your feet. There is a parking lot but it is on someone's property so they charge $10 per person. I say it's worth it for thr views.

Absolutely gorgeous but the structures are falling apart due to frequent earthquakes and hurricanes. Do to this there’s, currently, no tours to the island.

This is a very nice Island off the coast of the main land. This is one of many small islands close to Puerto Rico. This one is by Ponce. You can catch a ferry/Catamaran/boat ride from La Guancha Marina in Ponce. This should be a must visit location, in my opinion. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. If your ok with a walk to see a breath taking view, then please take the hike to the abandon Light House/El Faro. It's about 1/2 hour walk to get there and 1/2 hour back. Please do go early in the day and with proper foot wear, no flip flops/slippers. Take a water bottle and a small wet towel because on hot days, you'll need it. Also try wearing a hat, it helps out somewhat. Don't forget your phone or camera to take pictures and selfies.

Not that much to do here but relax and enjoy yourself. Southern Puerto Rico is special ✨. I swam almost the length of the island. The off shore currents weren't a problem the day I was there and there were only a few other boats to be seen passing by. The conditions did seem harsh, in a beautiful to look at natural way, and there was one nice sandy beach. Hiking the middle of the island is prohibited by the government after earthquake damage. I thoroughly enjoyed the boat tour I took there with Island Ventures; everyone was so friendly. After my captain became concerned with my open water swimming; I was offered a ride in the tender by the Captain of the Pina Records yacht. I was insulted and declined, but next time I will gladly take the ride if I can go on the yacht 😂.

Gorgeous small island in near virginal state. However, the poorly maintained visitor's center was further destroyed by hurricane María. You will be on your own. Bring anything that you may need...water, food, SHADE!

My first time to PR. The hubby is from Ponce so of course he took me out here. Even though we came after all the hurricanes and the earthquake and it was in a way deserted because it didn't look anything like what everyone has posted. We still had an awesome time. The water was so beautiful it was so peaceful. There was maybe one other boat that came out but for the most part we were the only ones. I was totally in love with it.

I had an amazing time at Toro Verde Zipline park in Puerto Rico. This was my second time and I got that couples package with my Wife We were able to do all the zip lines and the monster. It was such a fun and exhilarating experience with amazing views. It also included the restaurant which had great food. I highly recommend this Zipline park for adrenaline lovers.

I went here to celebrate my birthday and do el monstro zip line. The longest fastest zip line in the world! What an amazing and beautiful experience. This was the fist time I’d zip lined in the Superman position but seeing the beauty beneath you makes the ride beautiful and worth it! This made me appreciate nature and the world! You have to do it to understand. I want to go back once I return to PR! The ride up there is also beautiful you will pass a few waterfalls on the way up take your time and have your camera ready!

This was one of the most recommended places to go while visiting for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint! We did the Zipline tour and also the Monster. The views were absolutely breathtaking. The entire experience was amazing and the tour guides were humorous, friendly, encouraging, and kind which made the experience even better. The road to get there is quite curvy if you’re prone to motion sickness but the zip-lining itself didn’t affect that for me at all. For the monster, the scariest part is getting into a plank position and lifting your arms. After that, it’s easy. Totally worth it! 9/18/25 Zipline- Angelica, Isaac, Eric 12pm Tour Tour guides were amazing, especially Angelica!

ToroVerde was awesome!! What a real zip line experience is supposed to be like. We had fun going thru all 8 ziplines including The Monstrou! I purchased our package deal thru our hotel stay for an affordable price which included transportation to & from the park. Our driver was Jerry Laguna & he was the best!! He was so helpful & very wise to the history of San Juan & the island of PR. All the ziplines were so fun & the staff there are very professional. Everyone is knowledgeable to attention to detail. Our guides on 10/30 were Julio & Angelica. They made us feel comfortable every step of the way. When we were finished we had a lunch waiting for us & our bus was ready to return us to our hotel. We visited the novelty shop w/reasonably priced items. This was a def must see & explore moment. I’ll recommend all my friends to give Toro Verde & The Monster a Go!!

AMAZING!!!! Cannot believe it’s not talked about enough. Claudia & Christian service just added to the experience for the seven zip lines. Made us laugh & confident the whole tour, added music & were super friendly the whole time. Felt like I was in a private tour because it was very slow so we were just 4 people. Guess we might’ve gotten lucky with that, so might not be the same for everybody. But worth every single CENT! Paid $115 per person for all you can do & wow an experience u HAVE to do if u come to Puerto Rico.

An amazing experience!! The zip lines were so much fun and the views were breathtaking. The restaurant also has an amazing view and the food was delicious. Definitely a must try if you thinking about it.

First time visiting, and I was really impressed. The beach is beautiful, clean, and the water is crystal clear, making it an ideal spot for families. One side of the beach offers shade, while the other has small, gentle waves, perfect for kids to play in. Parking is affordable at $5, and you can rent chairs and umbrellas for extra comfort. There are also outdoor showers, which is a nice touch after a day in the sand. The views are stunning, and it’s definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. However, one downside I noticed was a vacant building nearby that isn’t boarded up, which could be a safety concern. It seems like a place where homeless individuals might hang out, and there’s potential for it to be used for drugs. Keep an eye on your kids, especially in that area. Other than that, it's a great spot to spend the day!

Puerto Nuevo Beach is the #1 beach for the public in the north side of PR in my opinion. It has everything you need / are looking for: long stretches of beach with one being a swimming wave side for adults and a cove area or “pocita” for children. This beach is very much family friendly with both shower and restrooms facilities that are free of charge and in good condition. Amo a mi Isla!

Absolutely gorgeous!! You can climb a cliff, there's vendors very close by. Beach was clean & I came on a holiday weekend. Would recommend 100%!

A “Blue Flag” beach in PR. Been coming here for years and very popular with locals & tourists and family friendly. A beautiful beach. Some entrepreneurs on the beach selling mixed drinks and ice cream. $5 parking (8am-5pm) with decent bathroom facilities. Chair / umbrella rentals on the beach but no food or drink establishments /amenities on the beach although you will find small business operations (food and alcohol) on the perimeter of the beach. Today I didn’t bring any food / snacks and found the perimeter businesses sufficient in fulfilling my needs so I will support the local economy going forward. Gets packed on weekends and holidays so take note, today is a Wednesday and there’s a good size crowd here. Be back in a couple of days.

One of my favorite beaches we visited! Locals were blasting Bad Bunny, water was warm and the views were absolutely gorgeous! The natural tide pools and rocks you can hike up to see even better views was awesome! Not crowded at all and overall a great beach to swim and relax at! 🌴

But i must be fair and there is alot of side atractions closed or not maintained and the place have potencial to earn the 5 stars if the surroundings and all side atractions and little trais plus verry important the TROLEY was not up and runn8ng and its esential to go from 1 side of the park to the other

Do not visit the water park during the summer on weekends. They over sell tickets and use the green areas to park the extra people. Since every gazebo and table with umbrella are for purchase it just leaves a small amount of sitting and tables for regular admission. So every body from regular admission ends up sitting on the floor or green areas. I went in at 10:00am and there was already nothing left. It was just too crowded to enjoy. Lines for the rides will be 45 to more than an hour long. Kids were already exhausted after the first line. The wave pool was so crowded that when the wave started you were going to get bumped and stepped on by other swimmers. The shortest line for food was 15 to 20 minutes and that was the pizza kiosk. The rest of the kiosk, the wait for food was 30 minute or more, and that included the purchase of water. They have no water fountains, no vending machines, so if you need a water bottle, you will have to wait with luck 15 minutes in the pizza kiosk. My father is a diabetic and had a sugar deficit, we needed sugar and the line to purchase soda was just too long. Thanks to a visiting neighbor who observe the situation and already had her husband in the line for one of the food kiosk asked him for the favor. Her husband ended up purchasing the soda for my fathers sugar deficit situation. I am not going to criticize the no food policy. Almost every water park has it, and at least this one has re-entry, so you can go to your car for food and snacks. How ever they need to have better access to food and water. Someone with a low blood sugar, or suffering from dehydration that will require quick access to water or food would be in a serious pickle since there is nothing quick when it comes to purchasing food or beverages. Last, 3 of the water slides from isla chiquitines were not working.

I came a few years ago and loved it. I came again today with some family from the states, and I have to say what a disappointment. It has a lot of attractions closed "still" because of Hurricane Maria. What about the government??? Why can't they do something and fix it up. It's a beautiful family place to go and have a blast. Pretty good place but no military discounts. You can't bring food into the park and the food is expensive.

This was a nice excursion. We bought (a month in advance) a combination of the Legacy tour and the fast ferry from Old San Juan. The boat doesn't run very often, so even though our Bacardi tour was supposed to start at 5:15 PM, we had to take the boat at 3:00 PM. Please be aware of this, we met a couple onboard that had booked the 3:30 PM Bacardi tour, and as they took the 3 p.m.-boat, they were late for their tour. The boat takes about 12 minutes. On the other side, there is a shuttle bus waiting, which is supposed to take 10 minutes to Casa Bacardi, however, it used 20 minutes due to the traffic. Arriving Casa Bacardi, we "checked in", and were given a token that could be exchanged for a Bacardi drink at the bar. It was also possible to buy some food (tacos, chips, etc.), and we relaxed in the shade while we waited for our tour. You are called out when the tour is going to start, and then you have to pay attention. All tours are fully booked weeks ahead, and if you are late, you will not be able to join another group that day, even now in the low season. The tour was interesting. First a short "bus" tour of a few minutes, and then a short tour inside an exhibition room. On this Legacy tour you do not see the actual production, but hear about the history, and our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. At the end of the tour we got to taste a 10 year old Bacardi. Afterwards we took the shuttle bus back to the fast ferry. This was the only bad thing about this excursion, because the bus only runs once an hour, and is not coordinated with the fast ferry, which also only departs once an hour. Thus we had to wait for almost 45 minutes at the ferry terminal. But all in all a great excursion

Our tour guide was so entertaining. You get a complimentary drink and a tasting for $40. The foodstand was surprisingly pretty good. The trip over on the ferry from San Juan was 25 cents round trip for seniors. As soon as we got off the ferry the shuttle for casa BACARDÍ was right there to pick us up even though we didn’t reserve ahead of time. After the tour the shuttle was waiting to bring us back to the ferry. Such a smooth and organized event.

We really enjoyed our visit. The tour was excellent as were the cocktails. We were very interested to learn about the history of Bacardi and the meaning of the iconic "Bat" icon. Our tour guide, Violetta, was passionate of the brand and was very knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

We did the mixology class and it was perfect! The views the property and the tour guide, Tally! She was great, so funny! I loved the history of the Bacardi. The mojitos were out of this world and now I’m a daiquiri fan too!

We took the historic tour and Alexandra was amazing. She was full of enthusiasm, energy and captured the audience. Her personality made all the difference. We received a coin for a free drink and the Piña colada was better than the Barra china. Her recommendation of making the 8 year BACARDÍ mix w coconut ice cubes is our new and improved mix. We also have a taste of the Reserve special Rum , a great treat! Thank you Alexandra! ☺️

Tour guide was great. There is plenty of parking and the facility are beautiful. Staff is very friendly. They give you a coin for an included drink if you choose to do the mixology class. Highly recommend the mixology class. Super fun. Not as long as I thought given we only did 2 drinks. But still very fun and worth the experience. The tour itself is also short. Not a lot to show. And I thought we would see the inside of the factory but no. Is only the outside

This was so fun! The guide was very knowledgeable and answered any and all questions we had. Did the founders experience and had a rum tasting! Maria was our guide and she did amazing! I would definelty recommend this for anyone who likes rum, likes history, or just enjoys drinking new flavors. If you’re a local, or even a tourist, it’s worth the money. Also had a bottle engraved with my name!

From the moment you walk across the big green lawn toward the fort, you get why this place is on postcards and license plates. Inside, it’s a maze of ramps, tunnels, cannons, and lookout towers, all built to guard San Juan from attacks coming in by sea. You can wander through multiple levels, peek out from the garitas, and look back at the city framed by the Atlantic—every turn feels like a new photo angle.  What I liked most: • Views for days – panoramic shots of the ocean, city walls, and Old San Juan. You could happily burn half your phone battery just on photos.  • History you can feel – clear signage, restored spaces, and enough detail to keep history buffs happy without overwhelming casual visitors.  • Space to slow down – you can explore at your own pace instead of being herded in a big tour group. Good to know: • There are lots of stairs, ramps, and uneven stone floors—wear real shoes, not flimsy sandals.  • The sun and heat are no joke on the upper levels and open areas. Bring water, a hat, and sunscreen. • Your ticket/pass also covers the other major fort in Old San Juan, which makes it an even better value if you want to make a half-day of it.  If you’re visiting Old San Juan and skip El Morro, you’re basically skipping the island’s headline chapter. It’s a must-do—whether you’re into history, photography, or just want to stand somewhere that makes you feel very small in the best way.

This place is massive. If you attempt to walk the entire grounds definitely wear great walking shoes. Additionally you should have sunscreen, water, and snacks as this place took 4 hours to walk the entire property. Watch out for pickpockets as a member of our group was targeted. Overall even with the theft the whole place was a great adventure.

Such an incredible place to visit! A unique piece of OLD history right here in "the New World". A must-see in PR! The sites (the Castillo de San Felipe fort as well as Castillo San Cristobal) are well marked with interesting historical and educational information in Spanish and English. The National Park visitor center was informative. We happened to visit during the Government shutdown Oct. 2025 but the local government and good people of PR made sure to keep the site open to visitors and all of the staff that interacted with was so friendly and helpful. The sites are well kept, and visitors have many options of places to explore (tunnels, rooms, etc). There are clean bathroom facilities at each as well as drinking fountains, but it's still a good idea to bring a water bottle.

My opinion, it was an experience of a lifetime. Being of Puerto Rican decent, it was amazing to see and experience what it was like to be at the fortress. Reading about the fortress and seeing the artifacts was amazing. If in Puerto Rico, I recommend going. I'll be going again on my next trip there.

It's a beautiful fortress. It's sad to hear that so many soldiers died here, but the fort itself feels beautifully constructed, taking advantage of the natural beauty. The $10 admission fee feels a bit steep.

This is a great place to learn about Puerto Rico's 's history and colonial past. There is plenty to see throughout the whole historian site. I will warn that four-wheelter as he could be a little difficult getting around as this building is from the 1500s. Considering this is a story site, you would think that the United States would do a better job at making it a little more accessible. We used to be able to go down to the lower parts but now those are blocked off. You can still reach the top through A ramp. You are in a wheelchair. If you have issues with heat, make sure you bring plenty of water because it's just gets very hot in there really is no air conditioner. Is a great place for pictures, kite flying, I'm just hanging out on the grass. If you are someone who has a national parks pass, you can get into this place for free. If you have a disability you can apply for one on their website.

The fortress is MASSIVE and so well-preserved. You can really imagine what life was like when soldiers were stationed here hundreds of years ago. The views of the ocean are absolutely stunning - bring your camera! I could have spent hours just taking photos from the different levels. There are so many rooms, tunnels and lookout spots to explore. The staff was friendly and they have these little exhibits explaining the history. I had no idea the fort was attacked so many times throughout history! If you're in San Juan, this is absolutely a must-see. Give yourself at least 2 hours to really explore it properly.

It's a special and magical place, because you can enjoy it with your family. The oldest remember their childhood while teaching their children about the island history and how to fly a homemade kite or "chiringa". You can enjoy a sunny and breezy day around the sea! Also, the pets enjoying a funny day with the family.

Just WOW! The history that I was able to experience here was just out of this world. We were able to walk around in all sorts of areas where there were bunkers, jail cells, hidden passageways, and gorgeous 360 views. Afterwards, you can walk the long way around close to the water, but be aware that you must walk all the way around, there are no ways to veer off! Going here is definitely a must do when visiting San Juan! Also be sure to bring your Passport to Your National Parks so you can get your cancellation stamp!!!!

Worth the walking and reasonable walk from the square. A bit of uphill walking and recommend walking on right side then going left as the walk would be a bit easier. If you buy a ticket for Historic Site, you can visit the other location with receipt.

We really did enjoy visiting this location and the tour of the facility. This excursion was part of our cruise visit to San Juan, and we are glad that we selected the fort for our activity during the trip. The fort's historical and paranormal aspects motivated us to include it on our list of places to visit, and we are pleased to have checked it off our bucket list. Highly recommended if you find yourself in the San Juan area.

This place is breathtaking. The views are stunning. Definitely a must visit in PR. It’s within the beautiful Old San Juan so a lot to see around. Their gift shop is really nice and has interesting books about Taino culture, Puerto Rico, and US Parks. You can get your park passport stamp here as well.

So I was here in port on the Carnival Venezia 11/4/25. We had a rainforest tour , San Cristobal Castle tour and Old San Juan Walking Tour from 7am to 3pm. It was a pretty good deal. We only had 45 minutes in the castle and we needed about three hours to see the whole thing. It was built in 1634 and it took 150 years to build . If you are here , it’s a must see !! With your pass , you also get access to the castle down the road (1mile) because it is all owed and run by the federal government (USA) as a national historic site . Please go , you won’t be disappointed !!

This massive fortress, built by the Spanish to protect the city from attacks, is one of the most impressive historical sites on the island. Side note, pay for entry here, and you also get in free to the other castle that's about 15 min walk away. Great idea to come here, and expect to stay two hours in my opinion. Would love to have done a guided tour but did a self tour.

A Must-See Piece of Puerto Rican History! Visiting San Cristóbal Castle was one of the highlights of my trip to Old San Juan. The views alone are worth the visit—panoramic sights of the Atlantic Ocean and the colorful city below. You can really feel the history walking through the tunnels, dungeons, and massive stone walls. The fortress is incredibly well-preserved, and the info plaques throughout make it easy to understand how it was used to defend the island. I recommend going early in the day to beat the heat and crowds. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water—it’s a lot of walking, but so worth it. Whether you're into history, photography, or just taking in some of the best views on the island, San Cristóbal is a must-visit in Puerto Rico.

Great castle! Beautiful views and lots of areas to explore. It's only $10 to enter and it includes the other castle as well, for 2 days.

Went here with my family Halloween night for the Soul Screams Halloween event. It was a fun time even though it was raining. I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something fun to do during the Halloween season. Couldn’t use the camera once inside, but while walking in line and waiting to get in we were able to. They had a stage set up where they kept us entertained with music and little dance off competitions. They did a pretty good job keeping us engaged throughout the wait, some of the characters walked through the line and chatted w you and even posed for pictures and videos. Thank you team Soul Screams. I forget how many houses they had but I believe it was between 6 and 8. So not bad at all.

Cute place for a walk, but definitely needs some TLC and upkeep. Needs to be supported by more tourism, great place to learn about local culture and history but needs to be maintained. Would be a great place for a date, picnic, live music, movie night, etc. it has so much space!!! Needs more flowers too. Lots of turtles

It was a great walk through lots of native plants, from beautiful flowers to fruiting trees. Plenty of wildlife around from birds to iguanas and egrets. They have the jurassic theme throughout for the kids too. Animated dinosaurs that are motion activated. We walked over a mile.

Such a beautiful location! There is so much to see, there is a koi pond with lillies and turtles, there are birds and iguanas that hang out by the water, and there is so much natural plant life to see. There are places to sit for a snack, and a lot of natural sensory stimulation can for kids. What I liked most is that you can roam freely. There aren’t people following you around and you can really explore in a natural way. Kids under 2 enter free and it was only $6 for me and my mom to enter with my 1yo ☺️

The gardens have a nice layout but we were visiting in July and there were almost no flowers. While it is expected that there would be limited flowers due to the season, most gardens like this plant a range of flowering plants to provide something for the whole season. The property also felt like it needed lits of maintenance. Wooden boardwalks were showing visible signs of rot and other sections definitely needed some attention. It made for a nice walk but had I known what it was like, wouldn’t have spent the money and time to visit.

Beautiful well kept awesome trails old style cabins Water turtles and ducks large iguanas .. great to go for a picnic , indigenous monuments take water some refreshment machines don’t work.. bridges are awesome.. has a lot of history .

Uniquely beautiful. Even with construction it was peaceful, like taking a step back in time. Early in the day there are very few people and it is nice and cool. Accessible for disabled folks, many of the highlights are very close to the parking.

It was our mistake for coming to this national forest so late (they close at 5pm) but wow. What an incredible place to walk around and walk into. It was a beautiful small hike to the waterfalls and it was just such a pretty view. Next time we come back, we are definitely coming earlier to spend more time here. Such a wonderful place.

Great park!! Very well maintained and it's free to go in! We went to the tower and there was a beautiful view from it. You can drive through the park and stop at the areas you want to stop at. Great place to see the beautiful sceneries and the beautiful nature, and definitely recommend it.

We went as soon as it opened. When we visited the park was free. The only fee that was collected was at the visitors center. To avoid the cruise ship tour buses go early. Head to the back of the park and work your way forward. I really enjoyed hiking in the rain. It’s a beautiful park. Sights for all ages and skill level. Parking and traffic does get tight as the day goes on.

Unforgettable Adventure in El Yunque National Forest I visited El Yunque National Forest in Puerto Rico, and it was truly one of the most breathtaking experiences I’ve ever had. The lush greenery, fresh air, and peaceful sounds of nature made it feel like stepping into another world. Whether you’re hiking to a waterfall, spotting tropical birds, or just soaking in the views. The trails were well maintained, and the entire park radiated a sense of calm and wonder. It’s a perfect escape for anyone who loves nature, adventure, or simply wants to recharge. I highly recommend making time for El Yunque it’s a gem that stays with you long after you leave.

The El Yunque Rainforest was so interesting with the weather changing by the minute. We hiked to Torre El Yunque and had sun, mist, rain, downpour, calm, wind, and even clouds all around us. The Visitor Center and Rangers were very nice and helpful. Plus, some beautiful waterfalls.

The rainforest is wonderful. Good for hiking. Some trails are challenged. Some places have no signs to tell the traveler about the trails details.

Odd hours, but we parked along the road and got in at sunrise to check for some birds. We saw quite a few species here including: osprey, magnificent frigatebird, mangrove cuckoo, Puerto Rican spindalis, Green-throated Carib, and many more. The WW2 pillboxes and associated buildings were amazing to explore. Overall hiked about 3 miles at this location and would recommend a visit!

The wildlife mets you at the gate, beautiful flowers and trees. Our first time kayaking was great. The lagoon is just enough. Make sure you put on your bug spray—you’ll be happy you did. Overall the experience was great and we would come again!

Great spot for my early morning walks 2 or 3 times a week. Also occasionally fish here as the lagoons hold tarpon and snook.

We went for a scenic and sweaty walk here on a Friday afternoon and had a lovely time! Saw some incredible wildlife and views as well as some fascinating history. The park ranger onsite was so kind and helpful, and we loved talking to her about birds!

Entrance is free. Nice walk trail with plenty to explore. The beach at the end of the trail is a perfect spot to stop and rest. Rentals available. Kayak. Bikes, peddle boats very nice place. It's November but too hot still and the beach off season seaweed on shore.

Canceled my reservation due to most recent review. I have plans to stay in the area in a few weeks and wanted to confirm my reservation. I have called several times and no one has answered me or returned my messages. Seeing that people arrived there with no one at the door and no answer is the exact thing I’m trying to avoid. Glad I read it to confirm my suspicions. Decided to go with a much more responsive and reliable establishment.

Simple Air BNB styled. Clean room. We stayed there to feel more connected the the Real PR. You'll wake up to roosters and be greated by cats. A pleasant little dive bar just feet away and the roof top is nice. Will go again.

I stayed for 6 days. I LOVE IT and will go back again for sure. The rooms were very clean and private. Very down to earth experience, felt like I was living there again. Souring noises just make me feel like I was back home. Good comunication with staff. Feets away from the beach La Pared. 5 minutes from Luquillos kioskos. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for Me. Thank you

Loved our week long stay! Rooms are comfortable and air conditioned! The local flavor was everywhere. Loved the culture next door-didn't even notice them after the first day! Walk to the beach and restaurants. Will definitely be staying again!

Unfortunately this was a very disappointing experience with poor communication from property management and unsanitary and unsafe conditions. I strongly urge would-be guests to stay in local rentals instead, which can be found for a similar or lower price. Property management is severely non-responsive once a reservation has been booker. Phone calls or texts took several hours to be returned, and there was no staff on-site that we could see until the next day after check-in. It took nearly two hours after check-in to get the WiFi password. The advertised ear plugs to block out the sound of the morning roosters (which are loud) were not offered. Despite ongoing concerns with the COVID-19 public health emergency, there was no hand or body soap in the unit (let alone shampoo) and the sanitizer dispenser was empty. When I asked the property manager about this, I was told that they had "run out" and that I should go buy my own. We had not been warned about this ahead of time. The apartment did not have enough hot water for two travelers and the temperature quickly turned cool. The street that the hostel is located on has a feral animal issue, which would-be guests should be warned to take notice of but are not. The listing says that guests are required to be vaccinated or test negative for COVID-19, but the owners did not verify this. This wasn’t an issue for me but I imagine it would be concerning for those staying in a communal setting. The property was extremely poorly insulated from the outside, which meant that every passer-by could hear your conversations and you could hear everything happening outside. Be prepared to have functionally no privacy. One night, a garbage truck came through the neighborhood at 3 in the morning, waking up me and my travel companion. The apartment also has no inside latch, which left me feeling unsafe because there is no barrier between the door and the street. Anyone with the key or a copy of the key — property management, a previous guest, anyone else — could access the apartment as you slept.

Great staff, in the heart of town close to the beach and restaurants, comfortable and accommodating rooms with a nice roof terrace. The host Cylia was extremely helpful and made us feel like family. She gave us a small tour of Luquillo. Definitely coming back!!

Friendly people and a beautiful, secure, clean hostel. No hot water or A/C but honestly those two things work together in Puerto Rico in July. Bedroom is well-equipped with fans and I had no trouble sleeping. Beach is a two minute walk, breakfast at Lena's is four. Would definitely stay here again.

This was our first time to the ferry for Culebra. When we arrived we found a parking lot at the very end for $5. The Ferry was supposed to leave at 9. It is now 9:32 and they are JUST NOW deciding to put more fuel in the ferry, when it's been sitting here for hours. There are several lines you have to go into to end up at the final destination gate for the ferry. The lines are fairly long and some are in direct sunlight. If you're with someone who can't stand long I would suggest bringing a chair (you have to pay $1to bring a chair and you are allowed one bag for free). We've been standing here so long that I've decided to sit on the bare ground. The family beside us (also on the ground) said they had been here since 1am trying to catch the 4am ferry that left late at 5am. Apparently residents got priority and there was not enough room for everyone. It seems like leaving late is a normal around here. Be prepared for a miserable wait. Also, when you get on the ferry people will try to save seats with their bag and say it's reserved so no one sits next to them. If there's no human there, it's yours. The Ferry finally departed at 10:08

Ferry ride was ok but like most times, you run into people who just don't know how to act like adults. Even when crew members tried to get them to stop, they refused to listen. Needs a better security system. It's also very disorganized because there are different lines for different ferry on the main Island side. Once you know where you need to be, then get ready for wait time on both sides of the ferry terminal. The price is very cheap in cost. $4 both ways total for adults.

Just to start, you call the number available for assistance and this people never pick up the phone. This puts a bad taste in my mouth already. I just want to know how much is the ferry ride before I make an 1hour drive to the terminal. I just want to talk to a person to ask questions 😞. Bad communication...I arrived to terminal at 800am and it was crazy. Soooo many people it is almost descourage but, the Ferry fits 350 people. It took me 2 hours to get me a ticket and board ferry. Maybe the phone for assistance it's inside the old terminal, which it is closed down for "REPAIRS". Once you arrive you get a better assistance. There is guards (no policeman) everywhere who wants to help. The area looks like you are about to enter into a concert or cross a border...Food in Culebra it is expensive but of course you are in a small Island. I want to make sure you understand it is worth it (see pics please). Once you are in Flamenco Beach you will forget what you went through to make it there. When you get to the beach go to the left (less waves and nice reef in shallow waters) You can take your own snorkeling set or you can rent one in Culebra. Going back to the mainland is not as stressful as going into culebra. Enjoy.

Here's the thing about the Fajardo ferry...you have to use common sense when planning your trip. Don't expect to show up 30min till departure on a weekend during the summer when all the locals are taking their kids out to the islands and expect to get on the boat. If you plan your trip to Culebra or Vieques on a week day (T-F) during the school year (such as Mid-Aug through Nov) and show up a good hour early, you will be fine! We were able to get tickets with no wait, and although we had to sit on the ground we got where we needed to go. There are bathrooms in the terminal and vendors with water and food. It's a terminal not a hotel.

If it is your first experience at this ferry be prepared for a lack of help, poor signage, long waits in the heat. (Thankfully they now have tents to wait out of the sun) The value is great compared to flying or swimming but the experience is frustrated those who like timeliness, order and efficiency. This ferry gives priority boarding to locals even if you have a ticket you might not make the ferry you have purchased a ticket to ride. It's the way it is. Locals are working to privatize the ferry to achieve a better service. Just bring your water, find the bathrooms and plan to wait in long lines as your vacation awaits you in Culebra. Be patient.

The queue could be really long, better come early. The ticket price is low if you manage to get one.

I would give them zero star, this is the most terrible experience about traveling that I could describe. Please don't take this Ferry this is the most incompetent way to travel to the Island . Don't take this Ferry I am telling you, if you are a tourist you want to be relaxed, save your time, so this is the worst idea to go to Culebra or Vieques Island. Pay whatever you have to paid , and it will be worth it because the other way even though you do the line early and get the tickets you have to wait until the time they want to departure literally when ever they want, they said 9 am but that never happen. Believe me awful experience. Consider time and money that you put just to get here and you will regret not paying the flight.

READ THIS OR BE DISAPPOINTED - I'd love to give these Bioluminescent Bay tours 5 stars, but this was the second time I've done a tour of a Bio Bay in the hopes of really getting a good look at the Bioluminescence, but no luck. The tour company, Tortuga's Tours, was great - well organized, excellent instructions, great guides. The problem, folks, is that the conditions need to be perfect to really see the bioluminence. It needs to be a new moon & completely dark. If the moon is out, you really won't get to see much. Luckily our tour guides knew this & brought tarps to put over us so we could kind of see the Bioluminescence when we splashed the water. Also, know that if you take the later of the tours offered you will be paddling a kayak in complete darkness through a narrow banyon grove canal with only a small light on the life vest of the person in front of you for light. The guides look after you, but it can be a bit unnerving. I thought it was cool, but a bit scary. Additionally, load up on bug spray! If you don't you'll regret it. All in all, unless conditions are perfect, skip these tours & go snorkeling instead.

So cool to visit at night and dip into the water to activate the plankton and bioluminescence

Beautiful sunsets! The peacefulness and view of the sunset while waiting for darkness was almost better than the bioluminescence. The bioluminescence was also cool of course since there are only a few places in the world where you can see it.

Luminous Bay was damaged by the hurricane in 2017 and is slowly recovering from the damages . The Guides were very enthusiastic and helpful to all of safety as well as explaining the importance of being respectful of the eco system of the Laguna Grande Bay. We found the adventure to be true and realistic 10 out of 10 on the the kayak adventure 8 out of 10 on old history of the area and knowledge of the area's eco system.

The bioluminescence of the lagoon will vary greatly. Optimal viewing is during the warmer summer months and during newer moons. While a tarp overhead isn't required, it really does help block out extraneous light. #bioluminescence #mangrove #kayak #night

Do the trip to the biobay with Pureadventure it was so great. See the biobay for the first time in my life. It was so amazing

I can’t even describe how stunning this beach was! It’s really secluded, with nothing on the island itself, so I’d definitely recommend going with a party boat or an activity boat that includes food. 10/10 recommend

Cayo Icacos… my God! This place is an absolute dream. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by crystal clear turquoise waters, soft white sand, and total island peace. It’s like something out of a movie remote, raw, and breathtakingly beautiful. We took a boat over (pro tip: contact the locals they’ll take you there and back easily), and once we got there, it felt like we had the whole island to ourselves. I brought my drone with me, and the footage I captured was unreal blue water stretching as far as the eye can see, and the contrast with the white sand is just wow. It really shows off how stunning this place is from above. Make sure you come prepared: bring food, drinks, water, a cooler with ice, and a beach umbrella there are no vendors on the island. It’s just you and nature. Between the swimming, the snorkeling, and the quiet, this was easily one of the best beach days I’ve ever had. Cayo Icacos is a must if you’re in Puerto Rico. 10/10 experience!

Very beautiful spot to check out while in Puerto Rico. I was recently here and fell in love with the colors. There isn't much on here other than swimming and hanging on the beach. I used East Island Excursion to get here. They were amazing. Depending where the boat sets up, it can be challenging to get to the beach. I would definitely be back on my next trip.

Excellent spot to spend a beach day ! We got Mingo’s water taxi for a full day in the cay ! Clean, quiet and stunning view ! The only thing I can’t stand is the few groups that invade the cay with loud music, coursing and bad behavior.

Beautiful beach. Take food and water and lots of sunscreen. We used Captain Mingo water taxi, and he let us borrow a cooler and a beach umbrella, which we are grateful for. He was reliable and really nice.

My recent trip to Vieques was truly unforgettable. The island has such a unique beauty, with each beach offering something special. We visited Playa Negra, a one-of-a-kind black sand beach. The contrast of the golden cliffs against the dark sand and blue waters was absolutely stunning—it felt like stepping into another world. The walk to get there was an adventure in itself, but completely worth it once we saw the breathtaking view. We also spent time at Playa Caracas, which had a very different vibe. The sand was soft and white, the water calm and clear, and it was perfect for swimming and relaxing. It’s one of the most family-friendly beaches we’ve been to, with plenty of space and a laid-back atmosphere. What makes Vieques so special is the balance between untouched natural beauty and peaceful surroundings. Unlike crowded tourist spots, here you really feel like you’re in a hidden paradise. Every turn revealed postcard-worthy scenery, and the locals were welcoming and kind.

It is a great place to see nature, hike, swim, and relax on a beach. Please respect the wildlife and leave any place you visit in a better state than how you found it.

My recent trip to Vieques was, to put it mildly, a massive disappointment, largely due to its exorbitant costs and frustrating logistics. If you're planning a trip to Puerto Rico and thinking of adding Vieques to your itinerary, my strong advice is to skip it entirely and just enjoy the many offerings of San Juan. From the moment we arrived, the "expensive as hell" vibe was palpable. Every single aspect of our stay felt overpriced. The food scene was particularly disheartening. Not only was the quality far from impressive, but the restaurant prices were absolutely insane for an island. You'd expect gourmet dining for what they were charging, but instead, we were consistently underwhelmed and overcharged, and you’ll find only burgers and regular food that you can get wherever at low cost. Attractions followed the same pattern of outrageous expense. Want to go snorkeling? Be prepared to expend money the range is about $95 per person. Horse riding? Same story. And don't even think about trying to do anything spontaneously. Everything in Vieques runs on a strict reservation system, and if you haven't booked weeks in advance you are cooked, you'll find yourself completely out of luck. We spent more time calling the places for activities than actually enjoying them sine we didn’t have reservations, which made the whole experience incredibly complicated and stressful. The only saving grace, and I mean only, were the beaches. Caracas Beach, in particular, was truly beautiful with its pristine sands and clear waters. However, a few pretty beaches simply aren't enough to justify the astronomical prices and the sheer hassle of being there. Honestly, if you're looking for things to do, better food options, more vibrant nightlife, and a generally less complicated and expensive experience, San Juan is by far the superior choice. Vieques might have a reputation for being a tranquil escape, but in reality, it felt more like an expensive trap. Save your money and your sanity stay in San Juan.

Fantastic area with opportunities for hiking snorkeling diving fishing boating or just enjoying time on the beach. The Refuge has many locations available for all of these activities and is free to the public. We enjoyed both hiking locations and beautiful beaches with clear water. On another occasion I enjoyed a Shore dive from one of the beaches where there was an excellent Reef.

Beautiful, secluded beaches and great snorkeling. 100 percent worth visiting. Spent the day on Playa La Chivas. Nice picnic shelters. Rocks on the left of the beach have good snorkeling. Island in the bay also has good snorkeling.

Awesome place, so many cool beaches in the reserve. My favorite is probably blue beach / la chiva (shown in pics). It's in my top three beaches on the island with Sun bay (not in reserve) and Green beach (west side of reserve, also shown in last photo). But honestly all the beaches in Vieques are pretty awesome and if you happen to not fall in love with the one you can drive down the road a bit or around the corner and find another. Heck yeah.

Playa Caracas is my all time favorite beach! Calm, clean & the epitome of tropical beaches. I can't get enough of this beach. Try going out early in the morning to swim and just soak in the magical vibes of Vieques. Newly installed restrooms are a plus. Also, La Chiva is another closer by beauty. The private pull offs give you the feel of being on your own secluded beach.
