It’s a great place to visit. It’s a very small theme based museum. It’s a navy ship INS Chapal and a cargo plane. Only navy ship is converted into museum where you can go inside seeing all the inner things like how to cabins were made,how the staff operated, how the places and engines are designed and assembled. Everything being kept in its original form that’s why it became rotten. But worth visiting. It’s lies somewhere between Gokarna and Goa route(may be I am not correct) Entry fees only 20rs per person. Must visit once.

50 Rs. Entry ticket per head. Could have been managed better by the Karnataka Tourism Board. Since, I have been to the naval museum at Vizag, this feels a little less. The caretaker at the entrance of the Karwar tupalov aircraft museum is very passionate about his job and knowledgeable about the exhibits and enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge with visitors. I hope the government provided better guided facilities to the visitors here since the entry is ticketed.

The Warship & Aircraft museum at the Karwar beach is a special thing. We are allowed to get the glimpse of a decommissioned missile launcher ship of Indian Navy, the INS Chapal. Along with that the anti submarine aircraft Tuplev T-142M is also on display. After watching the amazing machines from inside and outside, one is filled with pride about the skills and hardwork that our soldiers put in for our safety. Photography is allowed on the deck and inside the ship but not inside the plane. AC are installed inside to make our experience more comfortable. A must watch if you go to Karwar. ₹ 50 are charged as ticket fee per person. The museum is open daily from 9.30 to 12.30 and then from 14.00 to 17.00

It's a wonderful experience to see this 2 different war heroes.The complex wiring and control rooms on the ship and jet reveal intense engineering effort. A truly powerful and unforgettable visit. The cockpit view is amazing. Highly recommended.!

I visited here on 20-Apr-2025. Serene place. Parking available. 80 rupees per person. There is a small stall where you can get water and other stuff. From parking to the view point there are steps, climbing upstairs will be a little breathtaking so do have water in hand. One of the best places to visit in Dandeli. Some people do park their vehicle at the ticked counter and tend to walk, trust me it’s doing to be tiring better take your vehicle till the parking place.

One of the unique natural monolithic rock formations to see which has been preserved. Recently opened. Do visit when it's not raining since it's a mud road which poses risk with downhill bends and elevation while returning. Cash only tickets. Either way you won't get any network.

It's a wonderful heaven-like place. You can see various types of rock elements in one giant Syntheri rock. The beauty the rock has with underwater has a great impression.

At a distance of 31 km from Dandeli and 16 km from Ulavi, Syntheri Rock is monolithic granite structure with a height of 300 feet, which is located in the dense forests of Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary. It is one of the top Dandeli tourist places to visit. Syntheri Rock is a huge, massive limestone rock formed due to volcanic eruptions some million years ago. It is named after an English lady called Ms. Cinthera who is believed to have discovered this place in 20th century. River Kaneri passes along the side of this rock. Owing to the flow of the river from the vicinity, erosion has resulted in the rocks getting hollowed. The corners of this rock cave are inhabited by numerous pigeons and honeybees. Entry to the venue is controlled by forest department. The site can be reached either by jeep or by walk through the dense forest from the entrance. At the entrance visitors need to pay nominal entry fee and vehicles can go up to the parking area from where visitors need to climb down to reach the base. There is a 15-20 minute walk from the vehicle parking to the rock. A flight of 200 odd steps downwards lead you to the base. The steps are very steep and various types of rocks found in the forest are displayed along the steps.

It is such a beautiful stretch that sets the tone before you even reach the beach. The road is lined with greenery on both sides, with small cafes and local shops adding a cozy vibe. Walking or riding down this road feels peaceful and scenic, especially as you catch glimpses of the sea at the end. It’s well connected, easy to navigate, and gives you that relaxed, holiday feeling right away. A perfect prelude to the calm and charm of Kudle Beach itself!

Later, we just chilled by the shore, played some beach games like volleyball and frisbee, and ended the day watching a breathtaking sunset over the Arabian Sea — easily one of the best sunsets I’ve seen. 🌅 The beach is clean and less crowded, with a few small shops and shacks offering snacks, lemon soda, and local food. The whole area feels like a mini Goa but quieter, making it great for those who prefer a more peaceful atmosphere. A few quick tips: • No water sports here, so it’s more about peace than thrill. • Trekking shoes or slippers with grip help if you explore nearby spots. • Visit during early morning or evening for the best light and fewer people. A wonderful beach for families to enjoy some fun times here. The entrance has a bit of stairs to walk down which can be cumbersome when exiting when you have to climb those same stairs, especially with the sun shining. All in all a beautiful beach. Do visit to experience it yourself.

The most lively beach in Gokarna. The boating from there was top notch. Also the walk to the end of beach along with slight drizzle was amazing. Highly recommended.

It is probably the best beach in Gokarna. There are 5-6 total beaches there which can be accessed both through the roads or hiking the hills. Have been to this place twice and it feels really good to be there. Car parking is an issue there as the number of visitors are gradually increasing in Gokarna. Do visit Mahabaleshwar temple whenever you go there.

I went both at night and in the morning, it was a beautiful beach. Wasn't very crowded the time I went. I definitely liked it a lot.

A place where you don't get a mobile network but it is worth visiting. The rocks were amazing. You will love driving here, make sure your car is powerful. There are some nominal entry fees. You won't get food here so carry your own. You can enjoy it outside.

Surreal experience! It’s truly a must-visit place. The caves are mesmerizing, and the route that takes you there is calming and scenic. The Shiva temple is swayambhu, and the walk from the caves is actually a parikrama to the temple. Droplets of water naturally cascade from the rocks onto the Shivling, making it a one-of-a-kind experience. The light filtering through the rock formations in the caves creates a dramatic and cinematic effect.

Road via Mattighatta road(vaddi) is better as walk to Caves is easy and short. Even for senior citizens this route is better. Carry ☔ and water. There is tea shop just at entry point of trek. U get Maggi and other beverages /edibles items. Place is wonderful

The legend of Yana Caves in Uttara Kannada, Karnataka, is deeply intertwined with the story of Bhasmasura and Mohini. Yana is famous for these two massive rock outcrops known as the Bhairaveshwara Shikhara and the Mohini Shikhara Yana is also well known as a pilgrimage center because of the cave temple below the Bhairaveshwara Shikhara where a Swayambhu ("self-manifested", or "that which is created by its own accord") linga has been formed. Water drips from the roof over the Linga, adding to the sanctity of the place. Yana Rocks made up of limestone . It is near to Sirsi Kumata highway. Vehicle not going near to Rock.. A single lane road was constructed in the thick forest which reduces the trek-length 1.0 kilometres .

You can avoid Treck if you go from Gokarna side after Yana cave you can go for Vibhuti waterfall both just take 6,7 hours so go early and experience awesome trills

Drones are not allowed here, so avoid carrying one. Overall, a wonderful and serene experience — definitely a must-visit spot near Gokarna!

One of the most beautiful spots I’ve seen in India. The place is nice , calm, cool and soothing. Excellent place to click photographs. Sufficient parking space is available. Tickets are around Rs. 20 per person. Looks like they are planning many new attractions here, as there’s plenty of construction going on. Best time to visit would be when they open the nearby dam, and the waterfall is in full flow.

I visited during dasara holidays and it was not very crowded, which made the experience peaceful and enjoyable. The falls looked beautiful and the weather was pleasant. There are some construction works going on near the view points and entrance, but it didn't affect the overall experience much. A great place to enjoy nature and relax.

Small temple with quick 10-15 tour. Well preserved and clean. One of 6 in the small area dating back to 1500 CE when Bhatkal was Vijaynagar empire's main port trading with persian gulf and beyond. Khetapai, one of the diamond business trader is believed to be amongst the many businessmen who donated to make these temples. Worth a quick stop, and only 100mt off the NH66. We happened to have the pujari around and he was very kind to explain the story of the stone art - of various gods, mahabharata and Krishna Leela.

A very spiritual and calming place nestled in nature. The darshan of Goddess Mookambika is truly divine and gives a sense of peace. The temple is neat and well organized, and the priests conduct the poojas beautifully. The road to Kollur is scenic, making the journey enjoyable. However, it can get very crowded during weekends and festivals, so patience is needed. The Souparnika River nearby adds charm, but cleanliness could be improved.

There are also guest houses and a dormitory for those wishing to stay overnight. Shops selling flowers and puja items line the approach to the temple, along with some restaurants catering to visitors. Festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi and Rathotsava in December are celebrated with grandeur here, drawing large crowds. The story behind the name goes like, Long ago Once, faced with recurring spells of drought in the region, the sage Agasthya decides to perform yagas and penance to please the gods and bring rain. But all his efforts were constantly ruined by a demon named Kumbhasura living in the vicinity. The sage is determined that the demon must be eliminated to bring peace and prosperity to the region. Having learned that the Pandavas were roaming the region in exile, he requests Dharmaraya (Yudhisthira) to send Bhima for slaying the demon. Being the strongest amongst the Pandavas, Bhima readily agrees and a ferocious battle ensues. Despite Bhima’s strength, he is unable to kill Kumbhasura, who, by the virtue of a boon, seems invincible. Worried about the prospect of defeat, Bhima, while returning to camp after the day’s fight, happens to hear a divine voice that advises him to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha for achieving victory. On praying to the Lord, Bhima is bestowed with a sword by him, in the guise of an elephant that helps Bhima slay the demon. The region thus derives its name from two words namely Kumbhasura, the demon and Asi (sword), the weapon used to slay him. It is also said that as Lord Ganesha descended to earth in the guise of an elephant to bestow the sword, an elephant shaped rock is said to have appeared at this point, thus giving the place its other name, Ane­­gu­dde, meaning the hillock having an elephant shaped rock (ane meaning eleph­ant and gudde meaning hillock in Kannada). Anegudde Vinayaka temple- The name Anegudde comes from Aane (elephant) and Gudde (hillock), as it is the abode of the elephant-headed god, Sri Vinayaka. One of the best known Ganesha temples in Udupi District is that of Shri Maha Ganapathi at Anegudde. Anegudde is one of the seven ‘Mukti Sthalas’ (Parashurama Kshetra)in coastal Karnataka. Kumbasi is a village in the Kundapura taluk of Udupi district, India It lies en route from Udupi towards Kundapura on the National Highway 66 (Formerly NH-17). The Vinayaka Temple is located on hillock called Anegudde, below hillock is known as Kumbasi or Kumbashi. Anegudde Vinayaka Temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Anegudde is rewarded one of the seven 'Mukti Sthalas' of Karnataka or Parashurama kshetras, which are believed to be created by sage Parashurama. Anegudde is the combination of two words - 'Aane' meaning 'Elephant' and 'Gudde', which stands for 'hillock' as it is the abode of the elephant-headed god, Lord Vinayaka. At this time Lord Ganesha blessed Bheema of Pandavas, with a sword. Bheema fought Kumbasura and slays him. The main sanctum sanctorum contains the majestic figure of Vinayaka with silver Armour, in a standing posture. Tulabharam, a custom of offering to God valuables in weight equivalent of a person is frequently done in this temple by devotees. Ganesha Chauthi is the main festival in this temple. Ganesh Chaturthi is the main festival celebrated at Anegudde temple. Sankashta Chaturthi is also celebrated with great devotion here. On the Chauthi / Chaturthi of every lunar month, special poojas are held at the temple. The car festival (Rathostava) of this temple is held during the first week of December. Must visit..

It's a nice place to visit at night as u can see the lightening chariot and the pond would be fully decorated with beautiful lights. But the dharsan pathway is too smelly n the restrooms were not cleaned properly. The food providing hall is also dirtyy.

People sit in the long rows and food will be served in steel plates using trolleys. Must eat here once you come for Darshan. Hot food and tasty. If you are late you may miss curry ( banana fry item).

Food is available 2times a day.. Nad absolutely free of cost.. In ekadashi kitchen is closed. Lunch available from 12 to 2 And Dinner from 8 Pm to 10. You can donate if you want. Menu if fixed Dal, Sambar and Rice. Sambar test so different from ever I eat anywhere. Cleanliness is absolutely fine in Dining hall.. Dishes are not so clena.. Take some tissu and Water botol with you. Don't waste food take all you can eat.

I have had food at many famous temples like Dharmatsala, Tirupathi, Kukke Subramanya, etc. but Udupi Temple have very poor food quality. In the rice serving atleast 15-20 rice bugs was there. We consider this as Prasadam and don’t want to complain. But definitely this quality requires improvement.

Kind of prasasan in the form of food. The devotees are given food free of charges. The serving starts only after a line of people are seated. The plates come in a trolley,. Infact, everything comes in trolleys pulled by the service persons . The plates are to be picked when they go past you. The serving starts with a sweet. Then the rice is served, followed by dal, and finally chaas. The devotees need to give their plates themselves for washing, before washing their hands

Best during monsoon and less effort to reach peak which is hardly finds 20 to 30 stairs but 6-7 kms road travel is very narrow and steepy. Good place to sit and chill.

Do not visit during the monsoon, since you won't be able to see the breathtaking views that everyone is talking about. Once in a while the fog clears up and you can appreciate the view. The drive/ride up the hill is tortuous and difficult. Would not recommend unless you have a bike or a decently powerful scooter. Stay safe!

This place route is not so easy, road condition is totally worse! If suddenly opposite vehicle comes, it becomes difficult to manage and pass from there! This is one of the oldest Jain temples, dating back to the 17th century, located atop a hill at an elevation of over 800 meters. The site offers a mesmerizing viewpoint and is truly a must-visit destination. Please note that the approach roads include several narrow curves—drive carefully.

Beautiful sights of the valley below and rocks around. The drive up to the hills was difficult with very rough dirt roads. But worth the view.

It's a Jain temple with breathtaking view at the hilltop of the western ghats during the monsoon season. The road though is in very poor condition. People with good driving experience can take this route. The gate to this place closes down at 5pm so make sure you reach there on time.

One of the best beaches in Mangalore, it is always under the supervision of life guards. Ample parking space available, the beach has street food stalls and also a beach resort and bar Overall loved the place

Panambur Beach — a really nice beach, though it gets quite crowded in the evenings. The best time to visit is early in the morning to truly enjoy the vibe. When we went, it started raining, and the dramatic visuals of nature were both stunning and a bit scary to witness.

Located some 12 km from the city centre, situated quite inside from the main road, this beach doesn’t come close to the fame it has. It’s a dirty, badly maintained and just one-time visit type of beach. Quite spacious and good scope to develop it as a model- sea beach, Government apathy and lackadaisical attitude towards any tourism places not just beaches have made such a wonderful location in a just one cheap and third grade beach. I don’t recommend. But yes, it does have some extra activities to for enjoyment.

The best place ever for devotees.. Goddess Annapoorneshwari is so powerful that she makes you to automatically come there, take blessings and have the Annaprasada whenever she wants to see you. Her Ashirvada is the only thing everyone would love to have and she gives it hands full if you seek her blessings from your heart. There are accommodation facilities available. You can have a hot water bath for 30rs only. Washrooms are neat and clean. To prebook the rooms you should contact the office. Waiting time for darshana is around 5 to 10 mins and the greatness of the goddess is she allows all to get her view from as near as possible. Mangalarathi takes place around 1.30 pm in the afternoon and that might be the best time according to me to have darshana in the day time. If you are staying in there then the night darshana and mangalarathi would be great as the Alankara to the goddess looks amazing and divine. From this place sringeri is 3 hours away and you can plan one day trip to both Sringeri and Horanadu. Many types of Seva are available and the Akki Seve is the one which is very famous.

Horanadu Annapoorneshwari Temple was one of the most peaceful and fulfilling experiences I’ve had. The moment you step inside, there’s a sense of comfort that’s hard to put into words. The darshan of Goddess Annapoorneshwari feels genuinely divine. The way the deity is adorned and the energy in the sanctum make the whole experience very calming. The temple administration is well-organized, and the place is maintained with real care. The highlight, of course, is the anna prasadam. It’s simple, pure and served with so much warmth that it truly lives up to the spirit of the temple. Sitting down for that meal feels like a blessing in itself. The surroundings are beautiful too, especially if you visit early in the morning or around sunset. The entire area has a quiet spiritual charm that makes you want to stay back for a while. If you’re anywhere near Chikkamagaluru, this temple is a must-visit. You leave with a full heart and a feeling of gratitude.

Nice temple. The temple located on the bank of Tunga river. Very powerful godess. We visited the temple just 5 days back when it was raining. Due to raining the temple sorroundong area was become dirty. Otherwise temple is well maintained. The food is very tasty. The dinning hall is very clean and hygiene. Dharmasthala temple is a unique in temple architecture, unlike other temples have big gopurams, here the temple architecture looks like a home. - The temple is very spacious to accommodate thousands of devotees. - The premises surrounding the Dharmasthala town is like a forest and bit of uphill. - The main deity is Lord Manjunatheswara - Also, deities you can see Dharma Devas and Ammanavaru - Only traditional dress is allowed for Darsan, Male – without banyan and shirt, Jeans allowed. Female – Saree or Panjabi dress. Children – No western wear. - After Darsan, you can visit the Anna Prasada Hall and have temple food here. - Overall Darsan may take anytime between 30 mins to 2 hours, depending on the day and time you visit the temple. - If you have the time, visit the Netravati river and perform river bath before having the Lord Manjunatheswara Darsan. The lot of parking space is available near temple if you come in your own vehicle. Outside the temple you can find lot of shops and hotels if you need to shopping at roadside and have food. If you have the please do visit the Kukke Subramanya Temple which is about 1.30 hours away from Dharmasthala temple, and in general whoever visits the Dharmasthala temple, they also visit the Kukke Subramanya Temple.

There is drinking water facilities too and stores which sell eatables. Room is also equipped with TV. - Darshanna was quite good compared to before days. - Parking facilities are available - The Annaprasadam dinning hall also is so good and systematically arranged, one should not miss it.

Bekal Fort is a must-visit gem in Kasargod! The old colonial-style fort is beautifully constructed, and walking through its massive walls gives a glimpse of history and architecture that has stood strong for centuries. The fort itself is well maintained and offers breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea. Right next to it is Bekal Beach, which is clean, lively, and very happening. There are plenty of small stores and eateries around, making it a perfect spot to relax after exploring the fort. The sunset view from both the fort and the beach is simply spectacular. A perfect blend of history and natural beauty — highly recommended for anyone visiting North Kerala!

Bekal Fort is one of Kerala’s most impressive and beautifully maintained historical landmarks by ASI. 👍 Got famous after a Movie song in film (Bombay) 🎥 The entry / parking can be better managed, had to wait on the road for 20-25 minutes inching from main road to parking lot. Parking charge is Rs.40 Entry Tickets to be bought at the counter opposite to the main entry to port (Rs.25) Spread over 40 acres, it’s the largest fort in Kerala, built in the 17th century by Shivappa Nayaka of the Keladi Nayaka dynasty. Later, it came under the control of Tipu Sultan and the British — each era leaving its mark on the fort’s architecture and story. Prepare for long walks and inclined climbs in watch towers. Scenic views of the sea and nearby beaches and town views, worth it. There are stone benches to sit / relax. Could see drinking water taps at few places. There are couple of small shops selling ice cream, juices and water, packed chips, etc. Best part is on the west side sea viewing point (going down stairs) and watching sunset. There are places to sit and also go up to the final watch tower where the waves hit against. Around 5:45-6 the guards keep whistling to get the people out 😀 There are small sandy beach areas besides the port but access is restricted, though could see few people. Sea is rough so not recommended to venture. Overall a great place to spend few hours and take pictures 👍

Incredible fort. The entry fee is Rs. 25. This fort offers breathtaking scenic views. We arrived early in the morning, and the central area was peaceful. Upon reaching the viewpoint overlooking the beach, the sight was stunning, and the gentle sea breeze was calm and soothing. Overall, it is a lovely place to relax and enjoy.

Visited Bekal Fort recently — it’s a beautiful historic place with a stunning sea view. The atmosphere is peaceful and perfect for an evening visit. The fort area is well maintained, though it can get quite hot during the day, so sunset time is best. Nearby, there’s an ANERT EV charging station, which was very convenient for charging my electric car. Food options are limited (mostly ice cream and water), but overall it’s a must-visit place in Kasaragod! 🌊🏰⚡

A nice spot to visit while you are in Sakleshpura .. unfortunately not very well maintained, even the board to indicate the fort is not there at the entrance.. You have parking area at the foot of the fort. Around 250 steps to climb before you get to the top, a moderate hike.... Fort looks good and has scenic view around... Definitely for folks looking to take photos, ample opportunities 😁

Fort which is little close to sakleshpur, well maintained by the staffs.. Challenging for few people as we need to climb close to 300 steps which might take close to 15 to 20 min. No private parking for this area... Had to leave at the side road .. also no restaurants near by so pls don't plan for ur food along with this visit

Coming to history of this fort was built by the then king of Mysore tippu sultan on 1792 to mark his power of succession over the region.This fort is used to store the ammunition and gunpowder for cannons.I do not recommend going to this fort unless you are a historical sites enthusiast anyway you will not be able to see the star shape of the fort which is unique. I strictly warn if you are going with older people

A historical fort built by Tippu Sultan. Very beautiful place to visit those who are interested in the historical places. One needa to climb to the fort for around 10 minutes. 4 and 2 wheelers parking is available at the base location and on weekends it would be littlw crowded.

Has a beautiful view of the mountains and Greenery. Fort was not maintained previously, but now they started doing the cleaning works, hopefully they restore the damaged areas.

It was nice visit to this spiritual place. Went along with my friends. This place has very different vibe all together. Mighty Kumar Parvat is being visible. Went on Saturday evening had our prasad which took around 1 hour including wait & taking of prasad. Faced issues while getting guest house of Temple trust (book in advance) availability on weekends or festive season will be a issue. Took hotel outside. Darshan: went at temple at around 0600hrs and waited in a que till 0700hrs. Darshan started at 0700hrs & by 0740hrs we were out. Cons: Temple committe should work ok Maintaining the cleanliness of prasad house Overall experience was nice.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Kukke Subramanya Temple, one of the most divine and scenic temples located in the lap of the Western Ghats. The temple is beautifully built in traditional South Indian architectural style, with intricate wooden carvings and a peaceful ambiance. The main deity here is Lord Subramanya (Kartikeya), worshipped as the protector from serpent doshas. You can also have darshan of Vasuki, the serpent god, and other shrines like Adi Subramanya, Ganapati, and Uma Maheshwara within the temple premises. - The darshan queue is well-managed, on weekdays it takes about 30–60 minutes, while on weekends and special days it may take longer. - There are options for free darshan as well as special darshan tickets (₹50–₹200) for quicker Darsan. - The Anna Prasada (free meal) served by the temple is simple, delicious, and very well organized. - Timings: Generally, darshan is available from 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM and again from 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM. - Ample parking space is available near the temple at a reasonable charge. - Numerous shops selling pooja items, prasadam, and local snacks are available right outside. - Several lodges and restaurants nearby offer decent accommodation and food options. Overall, Kukke Subramanya Temple is a spiritually uplifting and peaceful destination worth visiting at least once in a lifetime.

The temple’s traditional architecture looked divine, and though it was quite crowded that day, the spiritual energy and positive vibe were truly unmatched. The sound of bells, chants, and the fragrance of incense made the whole experience unforgettable. After our darshan, we also explored some nearby scenic and historical places, which made the trip even more special. The natural beauty, flowing streams, and peaceful surroundings added a perfect balance of spirituality and serenity to our visit. The temple and its surroundings were clean and well maintained, and the entire area felt calm and family-friendly. Looking back now, I’m really glad I captured those moments, sometimes old photos remind us how meaningful those journeys were and how they still make us smile years later. We felt energised after visit to Kukke Subramanya temple. The kumaradhara river with rituals of placing flat stones in a pile in the river and on river bank. There are temples of Anjaneya, Ganapati and Vana Durga on the road to Subramanya temple. The road from Mangalore to Kukke has improved and further works are in progress.

I think, it is most the famous waterfall of Coorg. it is located about 8 km from North of Madikeri town in Coorg, is one of the most enchanting waterfalls in Karnataka. The water cascades down from a height of around 70 feet, creating a mesmerizing misty view, especially during the monsoon. Visitors can reach the falls through a short walk along a scenic trail filled with the aroma of coffee and cardamom. The hanging bridge was closed while I visited the falls. it was offers the best view for photography and sightseeing. Though visitors are not allowed to get into the water for safety reasons, the suspension bridge facing the waterfall provides an excellent spot for photos and videos. Visited on 16th Nov 2025 Not bad, combine this place with other sightseeings. You need to walk down easy stairs for a km or less to view this Waterfall, and climbback. Its easy but could be tricky for elders. Once you reach the platform, the waterfall is beautiful. It is crowded so you need to struggle a bit to see it properly, but there will be no peace with 100s of people around 😉 There are photographers who would charge to click pictures. Don't go for Francis photographer, our deal was to click 5 photos and we needed soft copies only. He said he would share later as there was no network. However, he took money and did not share any photos to us later. I am still following up with him, no response. 10 Rupees entry fee for adults, and free parking space 😊

It's good waterfall only to watch. We cannot take bath as its restricted. Situated in the green coffee estate center area and other side forest. The scenic beauty is good to watch in Sep to December months. Later the flow will be reducing. Can take the ticket there itself after parking vehicle nearby. 750m walk to falls from main road. It may be difficult for the people with knee pains and elders as some area steps climbing is required.

It was a peaceful yet lively moment — peaceful because of the beauty around, and lively because of the energy of the crowd, everyone trying to capture that perfect shot. There’s a small entry fee of ₹20, and the place is well-maintained with gardens, benches, and a small musical fountain area. The viewpoint can get very crowded during sunset, so it’s best to arrive at least 30–40 minutes early if you want a good spot to sit and enjoy. Parking is available nearby, and there are several stalls outside selling snacks, tea, and coffee — perfect for enjoying the view with something warm in hand. I absolutely loved this place! It’s a beautiful spot with great views and totally worth the ₹20 entry ride. The atmosphere is peaceful and refreshing a perfect getaway to enjoy nature. There are mini food stalls at the entrance selling corn, ice cream, and other snacks, which adds to the fun. They even have ziplines, making it an exciting place for both kids and adults! The area has plenty of seating, so you can relax and take in the surroundings. I really liked the animal statues and the light and water show in the evenings it’s a wonderful visual treat! Unfortunately, it started raining during my visit, so we couldn’t stay long. I would suggest adding a shade or shelter near the light show area so visitors can still enjoy it during bad weather. There’s also a park for kids, where they can play and have a great time. Overall, it’s a must-visit place for families, couples, and nature lovers looking for a relaxing and fun outing.

Chelvara Waterfall is absolutely stunning! 🌊✨ The view is amazing, surrounded by lush greenery that makes it a perfect spot for nature lovers. The sound of the water and the peaceful atmosphere make it a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Coorg. Must-visit if you’re in the area! 🌿

This waterfall can be considered more of an optional stop during your Coorg trip, as you can’t actually reach the bottom for a close-up view. The location is a bit far and there aren’t many other attractions nearby, but if you have extra time, it’s still worth a visit. You’ll need to climb a little to reach the side viewpoint, but the scenery from there makes the effort worthwhile and offers a refreshing experience amidst nature.

The drive to the falls is quite good, through the hills and coffee plantation. The falls is visible from the road itself. There's a short hike (200m) from the road, through a small part. Beware of leeches though. The road goes towards a peak and viewpoint from here. That was totally worth it btw.

Chelavara waterfalls is a nice waterfall in Coorg near Kabbe Betta. There is a small parking space (for 2-3 cars) here. Waterfall can be accessed by a small 5 minute hike. Bicolored frogs can be spotted here. Area can be bit dirty especially during rainy season, recommend good shoes while visiting the falls. Not recommended to enter the waterfalls even though it doesn't look dangerous, it seems many have lost lives here.

There is a small hike to reach the view point of the falls. However due to heavy monsoons, there is no entry to the falls, you can view the falls from far. The view is beautiful, with greenery all around

Chelavara Waterfalls is a scenic natural waterfall in Coorg, Karnataka, located about 16 km from Virajpet and 12 km from kakkabe town . A tributary of the Kaveri River, it is surrounded by coffee plantations and dense forests. It is important to note that accessing the waterfall has been restricted due to past incidents.

It's a kind of park I can say.. nice place for kids and you can easily spend 2hrs here. Yo have zip sliding, rope activities, birds feeding.. don't miss taking photos with macaw it's 60rs. There is river flow which is really good. You can spend time here and there is boating activity too

Lovely place, the rope bridge across the river is main attraction. Huge market outside. Entry fee is 10 rs. Inside park after the river has rabbits, parrots, deers etc. Paddle boating is also available. Adventure sports mini versions are also available.

We had a wonderful experience at Dubare Jungle Lodges! The place is truly beautiful, surrounded by nature, and perfect for a family or friends outing. The food served was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. One of the highlights was bathing and feeding the elephants – such a unique and memorable experience! The staff deserve a special mention – they are extremely sweet, caring, and make you feel very comfortable. On the night of our stay, we were the only family there, and though we felt a bit scared at first, the staff were so friendly and reassuring that we soon felt completely at ease. Officer Ram was very helpful throughout our stay, and Nagaraj, who guided us on the safari and nature walk, was polite, patient and courteous Overall, we had the best day at Dubare Jungle Lodges and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in nature

Stayed at JLR Dubare on 12th October 2025 Open but safe parking. Rooms are comfortable and well-maintained. Food options are limited but sufficient. The safari is good for beginners — great to enjoy the forest landscape and trees, but not ideal if your expectation is to spot tigers or elephants. The Dubare Elephant Camp is the real highlight — a wonderful experience to interact with elephants up close: bathing, feeding, and learning about them. Special thanks to Mr. Girish, an excellent naturalist, who ensures you have a meaningful and memorable time with the elephants. A must-visit for elephant lovers!

We had a wonderful stay at Jungle Lodges .. Dubare Elephant Camp. The rooms were very clean and well-maintained, offering a peaceful stay close to nature. A special mention to the naturalist who guided us during the elephant interaction session..he was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything so patiently. We truly enjoyed learning so much about these gentle giants. The food was the highlight of our stay. Every dish they served felt homely, fresh, and full of flavor. It’s rare to find such simple yet delicious food, and we genuinely looked forward to every meal. Yes, the stay is a little on the expensive side, but the experience, hospitality, and quality make it worth every penny. Overall, a memorable and refreshing getaway. Would definitely recommend it to nature lovers and families.

We had a wonderful experience at the Dubare Elephant Camp Jungle Lodge. The hospitality was truly the best—every staff member was incredibly generous, friendly, and always ready to help. The food was delicious with great variety, and the rooms were spotless and well-maintained, making our stay very comfortable. The highlights of our trip were the elephant bathing and feeding sessions, which were absolutely amazing and memorable. Watching the elephants up close and getting to interact with them was a beautiful experience. Overall, the time and money we spent were completely worth it. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful, nature-filled getaway with exceptional service!

Rooms were spacious. We booked the River View cottage and the view was indeed beautiful. The food was homely and all the service personnel were extremely helpful. The elephant interaction and elephant feeding activities were great! The safari was not worthwhile but that might have been our bad luck.

We only stayed for a day, but wow, what a great spot! The backwater scenery is stunning. We had such a fantastic time—the music was awesome, and Prashanth, you have a killer voice! Seriously, the food is delicious too. Definitely recommend it!

If you want an entire private jungle experience, head to JLR - Dubare. The resort is completely cut off from the rest of the crowd. To start with, you can park you vehicle on the banks of the Cauvery, and take a private boat to the resort. There you will be greeted by the helpful staff who will brief you about you stay. The itinerary includes 3 meals , tea/coffee, snacks apart from the nature walks and jungle safari. If you are luck you will spot some creatures during the safari. The staff is courteous and polite. During the rains, beware of leeches abd make sure to wear closed footwear. The resort's room are made with bamboo furniture and there is damp smell to it. If you dislike this, visit in the summers, but Cauvery might run dry then. The main attraction is the fully private elephant interaction experience. You can bathe and feed these gentle giants and click a million pictures with them. A must do, if you have kids.

A good ride through the forest. But couldn't find a great verity of animals. It depends. You really get a great time with the nature and fresh air. Could spot the footprints of tiger. There is a change in the timings. The safari starts from 6 am to 10 am in the morning and 3 pm to 6 pm in the evening. 60 trips per day. 30 in the morning and 30 trips afternoon. So if you are planning to go on weekends and holidays be sure you reach at the earliest. And. The best time to go for is from November to jan. The climate also too good. Maximum number of people that can travel in a jeep is 7. It starts from 3-4. Costs 2100rs. One guide will accompany you to describe things and helps you to spot the animals.

Better to buy tickets online a day before through keralaecotourism website. There are two slots, one morning 6 and evening at 3. Animal sighting is purely based on your luck but signs of animals can be found there, even tiger marks.

The safari last 1.5 hours, costs rs2250 per jeep, so its affordable. its one single road to enter and exit from the other side, its not like Kabini or Nagarhole which branches out like a combing search safari. Its hard to spot animals coz of the thick forest. We spotted Elephants, Sambar deer, tortoises, giant squirrel

We participated in a Sunday evening safari during rainy season at Tholpetty Wildlife sanctuary. Overall, the experience was pleasant, but compared less favorably to the similar offering 20 km away at Nagarhole in Karnataka (see below for details), which we did the next day. For one jeep with 5 people (including a 5 year old child), we paid Rs. 5500, compared to Nagarhole, where the per-person charge was Rs. 1000/adult, 500/child. Pros: No wait. Was able to pay by foreign credit card without a problem. Note to foreign travelers: one passport is required for identification purposes). The tour lasted about two hours. We saw one elephant—a tusker!) deep in the woods and one peacock, but that’s it. Since this was rainy season, wildlife sightings are much rarer. Cons: The safari vehicle used was cramped and very inconducive both to comfort and wildlife viewing as the seats faced inward with very little head clearance and very little window surface area. See photo for comparison to the Nagarhole (Karnataka) safari vehicle. In terms of price, I might be wrong about this, but I believe that one has to rent the entire jeep at a cost of Rs. 5000, which may not be economical for smaller groups. Overall, if you are visiting the Tholpetty area and cannot make the short drive to the Karnataka side of the forest, then this excursion is recommended. I would strongly suggest trying to do so in the dry season to maximize chances of wildlife sightings. If only possible to visit during the rainy season, I would favor the Nagarhole side both for price (pay per head as opposed to per vehicle), vehicle design/comfort and wildlife viewing opportunities.

We haven't seen anything except deer inside the forest. Despite travelling 1.5 hrs through the forest with 4500 INR loss, nothing could be seen. And road was completely offroad (I mean not good for old members)

Good forest range. It's a buffer forest. Recommended to go in summer if you want to spot wildlife. If you just want to see the vegetation then monsoon or winter.

Visitors need to know: it is essential to purchase tickets at least 12 hours in advance, as they are limited and sell out quickly. The current ticket price is ₹220 per person. Regarding the experience itself, I personally found it not worth the price or the hassle. It is extremely crowded, and the main attraction is simply an island area with a flow of water, not a waterfall or anything significantly unique. It felt like a waste of money for what is offered. Had real good time here. Very peaceful and crowd won't be that much and recommend to visit when it's raining. So that crowd will be less and you'll have a great time.

We could not enter the island because of entry restrictions. The rafting on the river was a good experience. It was Rs 100 per person for a 20 min ride in the river by bamboo rafts. One can enjoy this ride as well even if you can not enter the island. There are few tea shops and souveneir shops.

Excellent tourist destination in Wayanad. It is a beautiful group of islands joined by the Kuruva river. We are taken on a raft to the main islands. If you walk for about 500 meters you will reach the part of the river where you can have a pleasant bath. The river is cool and shallow. You can spend any amount of time there. It is safe even for small children. However, it is not at all safe to take bath in other parts of the river. The guards warn tourists but some make a clandestine attempt to jump into the river. When we went there for the second time, a guard showed me why we should not take bath in the prohibited areas!

Bad experience at Kuruva Dweep, lost money during visit. Management should improve safety and proper arrangements for visitors.

Good place for walking in the forest and taking bath in river. The boat just crosses from the mainland to Kuruva Island which is would take hardly 5mins. The people around there are friendly and no plastics are allowed inside island. It's a flat land as there is no elevation observed so anyone irrespective of age can go and explore. Only little part of the island is accessible.
