Xenpal Centro de Conservación de Fauna

Ecological park
Outdoor Activities
Family-friendly ecopark with a safari-style zoo & feeding area, plus a zip line & camel rides.
Great place to take young kids, animals are friendly, and you are able to feed them. The areas you get to walk around takes about 30-40 min. It's not very big. The safari isn't very big either. There are just a few different animals available from the walk around zoo. Price is reasonable.
Vanessa G — Google review
Great place to visit with family! Loved how we got to interact with the giraffes and all other animals Very reasonable prices as well
Daniela S — Google review
I visited Centro Ecológico Xenpal today with my boyfriend and his father and had an absolutely amazing time!!!! The facilities are well maintained, pricing is fair, the staff is friendly/helpful, and the animals look healthy and happy. I am visiting Monterrey, MX from Arizona and this was by far my favorite stop on my trip! I would absolutely recommend visiting, and hope to come back someday :)
Abby S — Google review
Very great views, the boys at the entrance and exit were very sweet and professional. Capybaras were super cute and friendly. I recommend doing the safari tour.

Such a beautiful place, you can have safe and beautiful contact with the amazing animals they have. They take good care of them. Feels a beautiful environment. The facilities are awesome!!
Lyd S — Google review
Great little zoo sandwiched in some beautiful mountains. Fascinating mix of animals along with pony and camel rides. Also has a safari area too but I didn't go to that. Unfortunately the gift shop closes 30 min before closing to missed going to it.
Protonboy8 — Google review
We stopped there after not being able to go up to the Grutas de García, since the cable car wasn’t working. To our surprise Xenpal was very entertaining. Our 4 year old niece had a lot of fun feeding the animals. The safari tour on our own car was also fun with a black lama’s face inside the car begging for carrots.
Leebelulaz — Google review
My 3 year old loved the place. The animals are used to the people so they are easy to approach.

Museo del Desierto

Natural history museum
Museums
The Museo del Desierto, also known as the Desert Museum, is a must-visit natural history museum in Saltillo, Mexico. Opened in 1999, it offers an insightful exploration of the Chihuahuan Desert, showcasing its formation and the diverse species that call it home. The museum features captivating exhibits on the desert's unique ecosystem and geological wonders such as sand dunes.
My wife and I visited friends in Arteaga and went here with them. All of the museum is in Spanish, although there is an option to follow along in English with a QR Code compatible with the Spotify APP. The museum will take you around 3 hours to see everything, it is really enjoyable, although long. It will take through the beginning of mankind, from the Big Bang, up until present day. There are live animals outside in exhibits, as well as, snakes and other creatures inside, towards the end of the museum tour. A must-see, if you enjoy museums, although, plan accordingly for a time consuming visit.
G R — Google review
My second trip to Saltillo included the Museo del Desierto. Many locals recommend this museum to visit. As an independent author in which my book project was specifically on the Chihuahuan Desert, this museum offers excellent exhibits of the Chihuahuan Desert, the largest in North America. The paleontology exhibits are very deep here and the Chihuahuan Desert is very rich in discovery of many dinosaurs and periods existing in the area. But that's just one major part of this museum. The geological exhibits here are the creme of the crop, they definitely steal the show. I have never seen a spectacular display of rocks, minerals, and precious gems. Also to note, the reptile exhibit is pretty amazing as well, every type of rattlesnake found in these southern and southwest regions are here, including Guila Monsters. Also there is a Mexican Wolves exhibit which are very rare, and endangered. Plan on spending a long time at this amazing location, it is a very large museum and has a very diverse offering of exhibits. You will not be disappointed!
Robert J — Google review
This museum is amazing! So many natural history wonders, and most fossils found locally! The crystal cave exhibit was breathtaking, the mineral and gemstone section was gorgeous, the animals on display are well kept and look happy/healthy, the history of the Mexican people was well represented, you can observe cave drawings and take a step through the many eras of earth’s history, and they had many live activities to observe as well as an outdoor area with live animals as well. I really enjoyed seeing the paleontology lab. The gift shop is well stocked, there is a cactus exhibit annd nursery you can purchase from, snacks annd drinks are available to purchase, and there are many guides on staff to answer questions. It truly is a fascinating place, and everyone who visits and/or lives in Coahuila should take the time to soak in the wonders of this spectacular museum!
Morgan A — Google review
Fantastic Museum. Lots of geology, history, and paleontology. Displays that bring the past to life. Well worth the visit. Also a great idea of what to do with that old car 🤣
Peter S — Google review
I would recommend this museum to anyone who is visiting Saltillo. Lots to see, even some reptiles and animals. They have a large display of minerals and crystals. There is also a cactus nursery where you can buy 🌵.
TinkerMom — Google review
Absolute fantastic museum. It's quite large and shines the spotlight on the history of the earth. The biggest theme is paleontology and dinosaurs. The Coahuilaceratops was found here in the region. There's also a reptilian section with Mexican snakes, some bats, turtles, coyotes and impressive mountain goats. tough the exponats aren't described in english, some of the staff speaks it.
Eruheran — Google review
Very good natural history museum, lots of things to see for kids and adults. Loved the paleontology and minerals section of the museum. We had fun as a family. The parking machine is not the most reliable and useful, it only takes small Mexican bills so you’re forced to go back and get change.

There are well-maintained trails for walking and hiking. It's recommended to wear a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and plenty of water and snacks. The road is excellent, and the junction is 5 km of dirt road, but it's not too difficult and there are no potholes. It's a shame it doesn't get many visitors. Beautiful place. Amazing views, I can't add anything else to such a magnificent place in the world. Glad I made this trip. This is the Corazon de Mexico on a map! Just understand the gates to the top are closed Mondays, as many things in Mexico are closed on Mondays.

Ok so it looks nice from afar. Yeah it’s a cool church built literally on a rock. However many things to dislike. #1 parking is as shady as it gets, hide your valuables! #2 although most of the way up has stairs and a ramp for stroller there is a narrow set of dangerous stairs at the top that is zero accesible. #3 “the gorgeous views of Parras” as described in some Google posts are “ok” at best. Posting a sample picture
Fernando V — Google review
It is situated on a steep hill so if you are fit only then try to climb on top. The view from top is beautiful and you can see the whole parras from there. If you are in parras it is recommend to visit this place.

Church of the Santo Madero on the top of a small mountain with and easy hike to the top, with a view that's worth the effort. There's really interesting legend about the church that a big megaphone with a record that tells repeatedly. At the bottom of the hill there's a lots of vendors that sell some delicious beverages that's call "rusas", really recommended and it's a good place to bought some cool handmade crafts at a good price.

Great place to leant history. I enjoyed the tour a lot. Only bad review would be that the tasting is not included or that you don't get to taste the process like in other vineyards. Tasting is 300 pesos. Still. Very enjoyable. Place full of history. Oh and the church rocks!

Where can I start??... perfect place to spend one full day with family or friends if you have time take the two tours and the tasting route. Awesome place you will take a lot of picture over there the prices are ok and the wines are cheaper that a super market. The wine is one of the best of Mexico.

The place is beautiful! Because of the pandemic, you need to make reservations at least a day before for the tour but you can enter to the gardens and store for free. The church is very pretty too. The wine they sell is more expensive than the local wine you can find in Parras but still affordable
Jehieli R — Google review

This place was wonderful to visit. The views and history is really impressive and take you back in time. We did the tour with the wine tasting and it was phenomenal. I definitely recommend to anyone. We went in mid March and the grape plants were beginning to grow, if you want to see them in full bloom it’s best to attend in late July or August. Definitely a experience and the town also has a lot of history and great dining options. Recommend for a weekend getaway.

Shopping mall
Shopping
Galerías Laguna is a spacious shopping center located in Torreon, bustling with numerous anchor stores and a diverse range of shops, including a pet store and several phone outlets. The mall boasts an appealing seasonal decor and the staff is friendly. Surprisingly, visitors are required to pay 22 pesos (approximately one dollar) for up to 12 hours of parking. Situated in a popular area, this modern mall houses various establishments like Liverpool and Sears as its main attractions.
Great place for shopping. It's a mall. As you know its more expensive. Nice stores. It does have much better chain restaurants than a normal mall.
Zeke N — Google review
A large shopping center with several anchor stores. They have things for everybody and a nice selection of different stores including a pet store and three or four stores for phone stuff. Always something to see they decorate very nicely for the season and the staff is very pleasant. It's kind of surprising to me but people accepted here that you have to pay 22 pesos to park for up to 12 hours. That's about a dollar.
Bill B — Google review
They tried to charge us USD 120 for cleaning the windows, and $300 for wheel cleaning. The man in the photo was attempting to scam my family and me.
Joseph V — Google review
The mall is very cleaning and just beware in the parking lot if they offer you car wash. We got scammed and can’t believe it happened to us. The original price was $230.00 peso Mex and they were explaining to my husband the service they going to do they were only cleaning the outside of the car. When we returned and it was time to pay they we’re changing $2,800 Mex peso in U.S dollar $168.95 was in shock the 2 guys who cleaned the car would not let us go. They drop the price down $2,400.00 pesos we refused to pay they reduced the price to $2000 pesos and than to $1000 pesos and I want to pay the original price and they reduced the price down to $700.00 peso and we left and file a complaint to the mall and the security guard helps us and we were able to talk to owner and he was very upset and he talk to his employees and they were suspended for 3 days and we received a full refund. Just beware and if they tell you the price and you come back with a different price do’t pay them pay the original price and tell them you going to complain to owner and the mall. The owner was very professional and unfortunately the employees are hurting the business with this type of scam

Nestled in Torreón, the Museo de los Metales is a fascinating destination that showcases the rich history and science behind metal production. Operated by one of Mexico's leading metal companies, this museum offers an insightful glimpse into industrial processes and the significance of metals in shaping the region. With over 2,000 employees working tirelessly at this site, visitors can appreciate both the scale and importance of this industry to Torreón’s foundation.
Very nice museum presented by one of the biggest metal producing companies in Mexico they must have over 2,000 employees round-the-clock at this site. The museum was well-thought-out very very clean and very good explanations. An unforgettable experience! Taking the teleferic in the evening was absolutely magical—the whole city lit up beneath us, with panoramic views stretching as far as the eye could see. The ride itself was smooth and relaxing, and the atmosphere at sunset made it even more special. Very nice! Price was about $3 for two people and the trip took about 10 minutes. Very nice view and I have been on other cable cars and it was not near as scary as some of the others that I have been on in the past. It provides a wonderful Vista of the entire city and is a nice experience. The cars hold up to 8 people and slow down significantly so you can get in. I highly recommend a trip up the teleferico if you are in Torreon.

Used to be better. More interaction and activities and living animals. Maybe pre-pandemia. Idk, but still a great place to visit with family or friends

(Translated by Google) A good place, quite spacious, but it could be a little cleaner, we still really enjoyed the games at the Pioneers' house. (Original) Un buen lugar, bastante amplio, pero podría ser un poco más limpio, aún así disfrutamos mucho de los juegos en la casa de los Pioneros.

(Translated by Google) Old facilities, event organizers sell more tickets than capacity. People get quite excited, they get very fanatical, but hey, that's why you go to see the games. They serve you well and quickly those who sell beer, potatoes, dried meat, etc.

(Translated by Google) I had not returned to the gym for many years, however I see that it has not received important updates, worthy of a city like Delicias if they added some very austere stands, only to receive greater entries, the stands that already existed only placed buttocks, it has the same board from the 90s and the floor is not properly treated, I admit that they put toilets in, otherwise I think it is behind the times, remember that in Delicias Basket Ball was played in all the schools and they left it for football now which is cheaper, I think they should bet on youth Basket Ball, the Pioneers I see that they contributed to the facilities and left nothing.
