The Archaeological Zone Tepozteco features the ruins of a small Aztec temple dedicated to Tepoztecatl, the god of harvest, fertility, and pulque. The 10m-high pyramid is perched atop a sheer cliff at the end of a steep paved path. While not as large as other pyramids in Mexico, its location offers breathtaking panoramic views of the valley.
Tip: the iron fence and last part of this amazing hike closes every day at 16:00. The entrance, if you want to see the pyramid and the part with the most beautiful view costs 100 pesos and is free for children and elderly (60+). On Sunday it's free for all Mexicans. There is a huge difference in amount of people between weekends and weekdays, both experiences are worth it. If you like a lot of people, with music, high heels, alcohol and atmosphere, weekends are really cool! If you like the "nature" and chill vibe more, please consider a week day experience; you are welcome;)!

If you can go as early as possible (opening time is 9), it will be quiet and peaceful. It'll be so early that the markets at the beginning of the route won't be open yet. The hike up is challenging so you do need a basic level of fitness but it is so worth it. The pyramid is small but don't let that put you off. It's a piece of history which is preserved and tells us more about this world and for only 100 pesos entry, it's well looked after. The most beautiful part of this is the view that you are rewarded after your hike. Highlight of my time here.
Claire W — Google review
I had been eagerly anticipating the opportunity to write this review once I had the chance. Perhaps I wasn’t paying close enough attention, but it seemed like nowhere was it mentioned that the path to this archaeological site takes approximately two hours if you’re not particularly fit. It’s genuine rough terrain—true hiking. According to my data, to reach the summit where the pyramid is located, you need to ascend about 400 meters vertically, which is roughly equivalent to climbing a 130-story building on foot. So, please keep this in mind, and most importantly, it seems that, judging by the number of people there—including small children being carried and elderly individuals—very few are actually aware of what lies ahead. Well, now you know. As for the archaeological site itself, to be honest, it’s probably not worth the climb, at least not more than once. There are a lot of people, and the charm of a secluded mountaintop spot dissipates. However, the pyramid stands right on the edge of a cliff, and behind it is a steep drop, reminiscent of the scene in the movie “From Dusk Till Dawn,” where the bar is revealed to be an ancient temple, and vampires would toss bodies and cars down below. This could have served as a prototype for that scene in the film. You can climb onto the pyramid, by the way, but the archaeological zone itself isn’t all that impressive. I must say, the ascent was quite a surprise, and don’t forget that you also have to descend, which isn’t exactly easy either. Oh, and at the end, they’ll charge you 100 pesos for visiting the area, of course. Overall, it’s pretty cool; everyone takes photos and is happy they made it. Those still climbing can be encouraged as you descend. So, it’s alright.
Alex K — Google review
Really nice place! 90% of the hike has stairs, so as long as you have average condition, you should be able to safely hike this hill. I get why, but asking you to pay $100 mxn to see something you are already seeing (the pyramid-like construction) felt like it was not worth it (not complaining about the price, it is fair)
Arturo M — Google review
A beautiful place to visit the egg is very pleasant and the view from the top is stunning. I would recommend anyone to go there, the hike is a bit tough but it’s worth it. Take good shoes and water
Baptiste D — Google review
Beautiful hiking! The path to the pyramid is very demanding but the view from there is amazing. The site is not well maintained, there is no bathroom and a lot of trash. To access the site you need to pay MXN 100 and it only accept cash.
Junior C — Google review
The hike is strenuous, prepare in advance. Takes 3-4 hours to complete the whole trek. You will gain almost 2000 feet (600 meters) while going up. The trek is 1.4 miles (2 kms) one way. Keep 100 pesos per person, they take the entrance ticket just before the pyramid. Overall its a very nice hike with beautiful view at the top.
AMIYA D — Google review
Entry to the pyramid (and the beautiful view) closes at 3pm/15:00, but there are no signs to indicate that until you’ve gone all the way up. Bummer! It’s a beautiful hike otherwise, and you’ll get a good workout.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Oaxtepec

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Amusement park
Another hit from the Six Flags Family, 100% family orientated, plenty of green and palm trees, lots of launch chairs all over the park, some are free to use, and some other to be rented. Wide variety of rides, either on your own or in groups of four. They are few restaurants around the park and some snack places too. You can buy your tickets on arrival, however, if you buy them via internet, they are considerably cheaper, and even better price from Monday to Thursday. We have an amazing time with our family, everyone were very attentive, and it wasn't busy at all, we probably have to wait to get on a ride top 8 minutes. Highly recommended, not far from Mexico city, very happy and definitely will come back to make more memories and have a blast.
ELENA B — Google review
We were invited to the birthday there. The children and the parents had so much fun. The place is huge and the cabins are comfortable and beautiful. They even sell healthy snacks not just fastfood
Oxanna D — Google review
This place was wonderful, I had a great adventure here, I’ll definitely come back here next time
Katie L — Google review
Nice and big place, a lot to do. I went on a Saturday during vacations and it wasn't as crowded as I'd expected, except for the Tornado where I did a 2h line (after that one all of the other ones seemed very short, 10 to 30min). Some details: 1. Considering it opened like 2 months ago, there are many things that already look worn out, like the bottom of the lazy river. 2. There weren't enough chairs to seat and we saw people from Six Flags bringing in new ones, which made me think they may still have many things to finish up in the park, and since it was a tender they HAD to open before a certain date. 3. They were letting people with tubes go in the wave pool.. not very nice for those of us who wanted to swim and where being surrounded by many tubes. I hope in a few months it'll be better and not worse. Anyway... If I lived nearby, I'd definitely go often, being content with the wave pool, lazy river and some slides.

A great water park for family fun
Berris S — Google review
We got there around 1:30 pm so we didn't get to do a whole lot but we still had a great afternoon. In the "lazy river" before anyone gets on a donut shaped raft, they sanitize them. I liked that. The park was very clean and well organized especially with the pandemic. Today was the first time my son and daughter, the youngest of my kids got to experience a Waterpark. Thank you for a great afternoon. This memory will last a lifetime. I recommend coming to this park when you visit Mexico City.
Felicia G — Google review
Well... in Mexico I would expect such place to be a less expensive. Prices for food and beverages - wow! And also I expected a bit more - comparing to European aquaparks, this one is maybe bigger (in terms of ground) but in terms of slides and other attractions -- is not as good as others. Generally rather good place to spend day or even weekend, but be prepared to have to pay a lot for everythings. Business it's business.

Zona Arqueológica Teopanzolco

Ancient Ruins
Zona Arqueológica Teopanzolco is a fascinating archaeological site located about 40 miles from Mexico City, showcasing the remnants of a 13th-century settlement. This impressive location features several ruined temples built on a sloping stone platform, reflecting the Aztecs' reverence for their ancestors and their architectural prowess. Although much of the original structure has suffered damage over time—especially after Spanish colonization—the site still offers an intriguing glimpse into history.
Nice place. Small but pretty. The cost of the ticket was 100$ Mexican pesos (5 Dollars). On Sundays it’s free. Were a hat for the sun and you can bring water or food.
Marycruz C — Google review
Lovely little site in the middle of Cuernavaca. No longer can enter the pyramid after 2017 earthquake damaged the structure. Still loads of very useful information around the site. Very good price to see something created so long ago, also has toilets on site and the staff were very welcoming. Signs need slightly updating as the sun has worn them down slightly.
Idris J — Google review
A wonderful place inside Cuernavaca , right next to the new concert hall truly captivating, a similar two temple at the top pyramid structure dedicated to war and water , Cuernavaca had a wonderful prehispanic past and several houses still have hidden treasures and secrets hidden throughout the city Come visit
Meizter P — Google review
The place although very small compared to other ancient archeological sites is quite interesting and well kept. The information on the signs is enriching
Manuel P — Google review
Not the most elaborate of archaeological sites. We weren't able to walk to the top of the largest platform. The site is still interesting enough to capture your imagination
Joel — Google review
This place is very beautiful to witness the prehispanic architecture design and informational guide explaining what they were used for. It provides 3 languages: Spanish, English, and Nahuatl writings to captivate the audiences attention. It's not a big park but not small, just enough to tour around the area. When I went there, the main temple, in the center and supposed to represent the templo Mayor (Main temple) in Tenochtitlan (Mexico city now), was off limits to go up. Probably due to the weather and human that greatly affected the pyramid, but still can go on other smaller ones.
David S — Google review
Nice area to stroll around when the weather is nice. Due to an earthquake, you're not allowed to climb or entire the main pyramid.
Mike X — Google review
A wonderful experience. The receptionist was very helpful and the history behind the pyramids is so intriguing

ASLI-Spanish Language Institute

Education
Sights & Landmarks
The ASLI-Spanish Language Institute offers an enriching and immersive experience for those looking to enhance their Spanish skills. With morning lessons that are both engaging and effective, students can expect to see significant improvement in their language abilities. The welcoming atmosphere created by the staff makes learning enjoyable, while afternoon activities like tennis provide a perfect balance of study and leisure. Students have praised the professionalism of teachers such as Rosalba and Susana, who present material in a way that keeps classes interesting despite the intensive schedule.
ASLI was an amazing experience. I had Spanish lessons in the morning and the school organised tennis for me in the afternoon. All of the team there were welcoming and helpful, my experience at the school was a truly special and memorable one. My Spanish definitely improved but ideally I think longer visiting ASLI would’ve been beneficial. My Mexican family were glorious, fed me incredibly well and it was so great to put into practise the Spanish I had learnt in a welcoming, friendly and fun environment.
Thomas M — Google review
My friend and I(both young ish females) just spend two weeks in Cuernavaca and had a great experience at ASLI-Spanish Language Institute! We felt incredibly safe the entire time we were in Cuernavaca as well as when doing day trips to nearby areas! Even if I didn’t have my friend with me I would have felt safe walking around the city and being out and about. We didn’t have any issues or negative experiences at all! Everyone at the school was incredibly welcoming and friendly! I really felt like the teaching was high quality and even in just two weeks my Spanish vastly improved. I did 3 hours of private Spanish in the mornings and an hour and a half of conversational Spanish in the afternoons which was a great combination! The school itself is also beautiful and very comfortable. They also helped us arrange transport from Mexico City to Cuernavaca which made the experience easy and low stress! My friend and I were able to do our home stay together and it was incredibly comfortable! The house was very nice and even had a pool. They cooked us two delicious meals per day which was really nice- we didn’t need to worry about a lot of grocery shopping or cooking. Our home stay “parents” were always very nice and welcoming, and helped improve my Spanish as well because we mostly only spoke Spanish in the household! With the school we also did a day trip to nearby city of Puebla, a cooking class, and a walking tour of downtown, which were nice supplemental cultural experiences. We also did a tour of the Robert Brady house/museum arranged by the school which was a highlight for me! I would highly recommend ASLI-Spanish Language Institute in Cuernavaca to anyone trying to improve their Spanish language skills and experience Mexican culture! I’m planning to do online classes with them and am even considering going back to Cuernavaca next time I get a chance because it was such a great experience and such an efficient way to learn Spanish! TLDR: great Spanish language education, very comfortable home stay, incredibly friendly people at the school and in the city, felt very safe as a female- would highly recommend to anyone wanting to improve their Spanish!!!
Lynde T — Google review
At ASLI, the instructors are very dedicated and knowledgeable to their work and getting their students the speak Spanish well. The rest of the staff are also very kind and accommodating to making their clients comfortable. There are also affordable trips to visit other beautiful places in the area. Overall, this school’s curriculum and atmosphere are simply amazing. This is a school I would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Cuernavaca and wanting to learn Spanish, no matter their level.
Mia P — Google review
My 13 year old son and I attended ASLI for 2 weeks this summer. I cannot say enough good things. The staff was fantastic, they customized the week to our wants (mix of language classes (0-2 other students), excursions, cooking, crocheting, dancing). We lived with a Mexican family a few blocks from school and with it being full immersion we learned so much more in our time there. We want to go back!
Annie M — Google review
I spent a week here at ASLI in Cuernavaca and can’t say enough amazing things. The school is beautiful, and is in a lovely walkable neighborhood. The teachers are INCREDIBLE and really know how to explain concepts well. Signing up for classes and paying was straightforward and transparent. I can’t wait to return for more classes sometime in the future!
Abigail H — Google review
I went to this school over 12 years ago when I was in undergrad. And I still think about the positive experiences I had there. Prior to attending this school, I had taken 7 years of Spanish class in the U.S. education system. And my time here was the very first time Spanish actually clicked for me as a language. This was the first place where I could confidently put a sentence together in a conversation. The teachers are amazing and very dedicated to their work. My host family was extraordinarily kind and provided amazing conversations, food, and accommodations. I even made friends in the city of Cuernavaca who I still talk to every once in a while. (However, most people in the program just stuck to socializing with other people in the program.) I'm seriously considering coming back here as an adult to freshen up my Spanish. And I honestly think this is the best place to do it.
Dominique C — Google review
I just got back from studying at ASLI Spanish Language Institute for 3 week. I also did a homestay arranged by the school. I LOVED all of it. My teachers and host family were excellent. Everything was well-structured and very professional: I had 3 hours of grammar lessons and 3 hours of conversational practice a day at the school, and then the learning continued in the evening with activities like cooking classes, excursions, and conversation with my host family. I learned several university courses' worth of material in those intensive 3 weeks, and I had so much fun that time just flew by. One more thing, the food prepared by my host family was fantastic. So it was a great foodie experience too. :) I highly recommend ASLI!
Alison L — Google review
I am a language professional in the U.S. myself. I was very impressed by the knowledge and professionalism of my ASLI teachers Rosalba and Susana. They were able to organize, present, and practice with me a great deal of material, in a way that stayed interesting and fun, despite the intensive immersion schedule. More than that though, by the end of my two-week stay, I truly felt personally close to both of my teachers, and to the other staff at ASLI with whom I had interacted. The super-hospitable welcome, and the sense of a genuine personal connection went way beyond what I was expecting from a two-week stay. I would recommend ASLI to anyone!

Museo Regional de los Pueblos de Morelos

Museum
Architectural Buildings
The Museo Regional de los Pueblos de Morelos, located in the former residence of a famous conquistador, is now a history museum featuring pre-Hispanic art and Diego Rivera's murals. The museum showcases carved stone animals with explanations of their significance in pre-Hispanic culture, although all information is available only in Spanish.
A really nice museum with rooms devoted to different exhibits like prehispanic history with an obsidian spearhead and Olmec pieces, fossils, biodiversity and a wonderful Diego Rivera mural on the second floor. There are also nice benches and open air views of the city. If you primarily speak English, be sure to use the QR codes posted on a wall in each room for English translations of the descriptive text.
Lance H — Google review
The building itself is impressive even from a distance. It’s clear that Hernán Cortés wasn’t exactly a likable man—he had to fortify himself well. At the entrance, you'll find statues, but don’t expect to see Cortés among them. If you’ve spent even a little time in Mexico, you’ll know he’s not exactly a national hero here. Now, about the museum. The most important thing to note—there’s absolutely nothing from Cortés inside. Not a single artifact, not even a rusty colonial-era nail. Instead, the exhibition features a lot of small sculptures found in Morelos, along with an oddly large collection of so-called contemporary art. Judging by the exhibit titles, the idea was to merge indigenous art with modern vision—but it didn’t really work. The indigenous figurines and even a stone safe for valuables are interesting, but the contemporary pieces? Not at all. Some rooms still have murals from the early 20th century. Technically modern, but nearly a hundred years old by now. I noticed that some visitors found them engaging, but personally, I didn’t see much artistic value in them. The museum also has murals by Diego Rivera, but during my visit, they were under restoration and inaccessible. The best part of the visit? The balcony, which offers a great view of downtown Cuernavaca. Entrance costs 100 pesos, which feels a bit pricey for just five rooms and a couple of balconies. At least you can pay by card—that’s a plus.
Alex K — Google review
Everything is in Spanish. Normally I leave reviews in English but I want to make this clear to English speakers. It's worth a 5 star visit FOR THE MURAL ALONE. But just be aware that to fully enjoy the museum you'll need to read Spanish at a high level or use an optical translator. On the other hand, the crafts and artifacts are interesting to look at without Spanish. You can do the museum in about 30 minutes if you're not reading.
J C — Google review
Though well laid out,the museum was sparse of displays. Still enjoyed the walk through
Joel — Google review

Centro Cultural Jardín Borda, located in downtown Cuernavaca, is a historic garden built in 1783 by Don Manuel de la Borda. Over the years, it has served various purposes such as a summer house, hotel, restaurant, and now a botanic garden overseen by the Department of Culture of the State of Morelos. The garden is adorned with ornamental plants, water features, and offers a serene environment for relaxation and exploration.
Excellent Botanical Garden. Most of the fountains were operational. The large one at the lower end was very nice. We even saw one possum
Joel — Google review
Entrance was free on Sunday when I visited. Google said it opened at 10 am, but they opened at 10:30. There are several fountains, but only 2 are in operation. there is a mix of shade and sunny areas. Bathrooms are at the entrance and so is the art display. My favorite was "el carnaval de la carne." Overall, it is a nice place to walk, take pictures or hide from the sun. With proper garden grooming, more plant variety and lake cleaning, this could be a paradise. There is a parking across the street $16pesos/hr. Church, arts and crafts vendors and restaurants surround the garden center. I would like to come back in a rainy season to see how the garden trives when water is abundant.

Nice place to go for a walk. Unfortunately, the fountains weren't on. I was told that there used to be events held here to pay for upkeep so now the fountains are only on during the rainy season. At the time of my visit, there was an art exhibit for feminism and I saw some of the artworks as very unusual.

Catedral de Cuernavaca

Catholic cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
Catedral de Cuernavaca, located across from the Jardin Borda, is a UNESCO-listed Catholic cathedral that dates back to 1529. The cathedral features a Churrigueresque main altar and a mural depicting the martyrdom of Mexico's first saint, Philip of Jesus. Built in Franciscan architectural style, it was originally constructed to evangelize the natives of Cuernavaca and Taxco.
Excellent walk around. I could add more information but feel if you read the other review they will say everything that I could write. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the various buildings
Joel — Google review
Very nice visit while in Cuernavaca. It is worth reading in advance about it and its history before going. There are more than one building and each has its own history
Carlos A — Google review
Beautiful architecture with a peaceful, small-town feel Catedral de Cuernavaca is a beautiful, historic church that perfectly fits its peaceful surroundings. The architecture is simple yet elegant, with stone walls and old-world charm that make it feel like stepping back in time. What stood out most was the quiet, village-like atmosphere, a relaxing break from city life. It's a great spot for some calm reflection while appreciating the craftsmanship of the building itself. A beautiful visit for anyone exploring Cuernavaca and wanting a mix of history, architecture, and local tranquility.
Amin S — Google review
The Cathedral of Cuernavaca, officially known as the Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary, is not only a religious site but a living testament to Mexico’s layered history. Built in the 16th century by Franciscan missionaries, it originally formed part of a fortress-like monastery complex designed to aid in the evangelization of the indigenous population after the Spanish conquest. The cathedral is one of the first and oldest Christian structures in the Americas, and it is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, included in the group of Earliest 16th-Century Monasteries on the Slopes of Popocatépetl. What sets this cathedral apart is its unique blend of Spanish colonial and indigenous architectural elements. The massive stone walls and fortress-like façade reflect the tensions of the early colonial era, while inside, a recently restored 17th-century mural—once hidden for centuries—depicts the martyrdom of missionaries in Japan, a rare and compelling piece of global missionary history. The surrounding cloisters and chapels are equally striking, and the calm courtyard invites quiet reflection. Whether you are drawn by its architecture, history, or spirituality, the Cathedral of Cuernavaca offers a profound glimpse into Mexico’s colonial past and the enduring legacy of its cultural and religious transformation.
Arturo Y — Google review
I think there’s some confusion because this complex actually has three churches: a chapel, the old cathedral with a pink façade, and a massive white cathedral with a tall bell tower, a single entrance, and a cross with a skull above it. This review is about the old cathedral of Cuernavaca, the one with the pink façade. From the outside, it looks nothing like the typical cathedrals in Mexico City—its pink color, stone carvings, and overall design are completely different. It’s also quite old, even older than the main cathedrals in Mexico City. Inside, there’s nothing particularly remarkable—it’s a typical cathedral of its time and is still in use. The massive retablo (altar screen) is certainly impressive, but all the ornamentation in Catholic churches tends to make my head spin. Beautiful architecture with much history. The hanging Jesus Christ was breathtaking when first walking into the cathedral. I also checked out their museum and it contained wonder art and historical pieces including relics from the indigenous people found.

Beautiful cathedral and historic plaza In the center of thIs very beautiful town. Very nice place to see and learn about this part of Mexico

Because recent earthquakes damaged the cathedral and other church buildings they are closed to the public. See the photo of the cracked church dome. They are great examples of Spanish colonial architecture from the late 1600's to early 1700's. You have to look at them from the outside. The courtyard is still a great place to see them and to stroll. And the church holds services outside in the courtyard on Sunday's.

The Robert Brady Museum, located in Cuernavaca, Mexico, is a captivating cultural venue housed in a historic structure known as The House of the Tower. This museum showcases the eclectic collection of American artist and collector Robert Brady, who fell in love with Cuernavaca and decided to make it his home. The museum features over 1400 pieces from Mexico and around the world, meticulously arranged alongside Brady's own creations.
Very interesting place. Full of wonderful artefacts from all over the world. If you are in Cuernavaca it’s a great place to go, very cheap, and there’s a cafe on site as well.

Very eclectic and beautiful gardens and swimming pool to enjoy. While you can't swim, you can imagine yourself living here and enjoying the wonderful weather. The hodgepodge of collected items from around the world will keep you interested for at least a little bit.

Fantastic art museum in a beautiful restored colonial mansion. A must see in Cuernavaca. Lots of colonial religious art beautifully displayed with antique Asian art and works by more modern artists like Rivera, Tamayo, and Frida Kahlo. Beautiful gardens too.

A really unique, special place. Considering Bob was openly gay, it's full of images of naked women and Jesus/Mary. Fun fact: the water doesn't run when you turn on the taps and the towels in his bathrooms only smell a tad musty.

Swimming, saunas & bathing in sulfurous, mineral-rich water at a spa center with poolside dining.
The Mineral water is excellent for the skin. So far the place has been safe and nice. Prices are entry 3 USD and 5 for the private water massage Roman private baths. Very nice natural place.

Decent tourist attraction to visit. They charge 65 pesos (~$3.25 USD) per person to enter over 1.2 meters in height ( basically over 8 yrs). Place is runned down but it's a local Hotspot. They have small cafes inside or you can bring your own food. They have lockers and showers to rinse off.

A beautiful place that I've been visited since I was a little boy and sadly looks like the management hasn't updated it at all, the place looks neglected, very sad, I still like it a lot, please take care of it.
Francisco V — Google review
These old buildings are not cleaned regularly and don't get any maintenance. Everything inside is extra, like the table, chairs, and changing room. It's not that green, more like alsfalt than grass.
Guillermo G — Google review
Great place to relax. Unfortunately, they do not have the same water pressure as before the 2017 earthquake. Still a great place to make memories. Aggressive swimwear vendors in front by ticket booth slightly damage the experience. The ice cream lady that is sometimes in front by the exit is the greatest however.
Christopher K — Google review
The place is gorgeous the water highly healthy the nature amazing, employees are very kind and nice guys. The facilities are absolutely neglected showers and toilets are completely disastrous.
Alfred B — Google review
The park is spacious, the pools are clean and there are a couple for all ages. However, since the last earthquake, the natural spring is just dropplets.
Patricia T — Google review
Simple and familiar, not an adventure water park. You can swim in the pool, bathe in sulfuric waters or chill in one of the green areas. Under reservation there are jacuzzis, dry and wet saunas and massages, and they aren't pricey. If you want to eat inside, there are small cafes and dinners, and they aren't expensive, but you can also BYO. Boost is sold inside, you can't bring it from outside.

Las Estacas Parque Natural

Ecological park
Nature & Parks
Airy rooms & suites, some with private pools, in a riverside property featuring 2 eateries & a spa.
Incredible natural park. One of the most beautiful and amazing rivers I have ever seen. The river is made of super clean and natural water making it an incredible experience. I really like how the place is organized into different zones including hotels, restaurants, shops, camping sites, pools and more. Although it’s a little bit hard to get there all the personal and indications in the highway are very useful. It’s important to try to not visit this place during holidays or special events since there’s a lot of people. Incredible for all ages thanks to its great variety of activities.
Sasao R — Google review
For the price I had high expectations and was excited about the trip. Once we arrived we ate breakfast and it was expensive but the food was good and decent portions. Once we got to the rental desk for some life jackets we were met with a rude and snotty attitude from the attendants. When we asked for clarification about paying fees with card and needing cash for the deposit we were explained the details with an eye roll and ill-mannered tone. The water initially appeared clean once we started swimming and walking the trails we discovered an unpleasant odor. Even the shower water was cold and smelled like rotten eggs. Overall I’ve experienced much better and would save money and visit other far more impressive natural parks like Xcaret which was incredible and where the employees were super nice and helpful.
Angie D — Google review
The park is amazing. But very crowded. They charge a lot for the entrance but they don't seem to care if they go way beyond capacity. Also my son was like 1cm taller then what they allowed (they charge by altitude and not age?!?) so we had to pay extra. No wine bottles allowed (anything glass, even for the camping. Once your in they won't let you out. Even if your just going to the car to get something (didn't matter that I could see my car from the entrance). When we were there they had a sports event so the "river" was very crowded. Next visit will be during the week and outside any holidays. We went the weekend before Easter thinking it wouldn't be so bad. Boy were we wrong. For such a beautiful place that used to be so peaceful it's now super crowded, loud music from everyone's speakers, party mode. Too bad, it used to be something special!
Birger B — Google review
While we didn't stay at the rooms themselves, looking inside of them was amazing. The breakfast buffet that is offered with the rooms is delicious, has tons of options, and the service is great. The entry price is steep, so if you are staying the night nearby it might be better to combine the two for a discount. Las Estacas themselves are beautiful with very clear water and lots of fun features, we enjoyed the diving boards and the rope swings. There are also pools and hammocks for structured relaxation.
William V — Google review
Las Estacas is a nice spot for a day trip from Mexico City, but honestly, I don’t quite understand what you’re supposed to do there for a long time—even if you can swim. Sure, the river is beautiful, clean, and quite deep, but after an hour or two of swimming, what’s next? There are a lot of people, and aside from the river, there’s not much else to do. You can have a barbecue, but is it really worth a three-hour drive one way just for that? I noticed some people stay overnight, and maybe that’s a good experience—at least you get to sleep outdoors, which for a city person is a rare treat. But beyond that, I’m not sure it’s worth an extended stay.
Alex K — Google review
This is a truly beautiful place and I have been many times. The river is 'refreshing' but is lovely to swim in. The hotel is very nice and I would definitely recommended staying here as there is a hotel guest only area and pool which is a nice escape from the other, busier areas. The food offerings are ok, but not the best. My only real criticism is that the last time we went we were not allowed to use the hotel areas at all before our check-in time or after our checkout time. This has never been the case before and I've never experienced this at any other hotel so they real should reconsider this policy as it would put me off staying in the hotel again.
Steven H — Google review
The scenery, views, and the dining service were nice; however it was pricey. The WORST part about the experience were the employees because of the snobby, unpleasant attitude and tone. Every question was answered with an annoyed expression and an almost eye roll especially at the rental desk. The employees at the life jackets/kayak rental desk made the entire experience subpar. Also the shower water was freezing and smelt like rotten eggs. After watching all of the videos I was excited for the trip and returned home disappointed and am not returning anytime soon.

We went to the hot water pools. It was very relaxing and the free mud was amazing for the skin. The only little thing I didn't like was that they don't have a real restaurant. They just sell super expensive beverages, fruits and sandwiches. I think it's necessary some good food after being in such tiring water.

We went with our nanny’s family. Her father grew up in this area and had visited this hot springs/water park as a kid. It started in 1939 as a indoor natural hot springs and since expanded to a very large water park. Some really intense water rides and fun rides for the kids.

A terrific family time at a great price. If you go during the week, they don't lay on all the rides, but you only pay half the price you would with them all open. Our kids had a blast, except the one who was less than 130cm tall, and couldn't go on some of them. Price was about £5.50 for an adult. Bargain. Pretty good state of repair for the place, free parking outside, lockers if you need them. Train takes you around the site so you can jump on and off where you need.

Please don't waste your money this place changed ownership and now is a joke. They charge big bucks for unprofessional work. The massage lady was 70 yrs old and couldn't do anything she spent 25 minutes massaging my feet. The facial lady used a cleanex to clean my pores , then she put a piece ofwet toilet paper in my eyes so I wouldn't see the mask. Which was made out of pretty puece of paper.

El Rollo Parque Acuático

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Family water park with wave pools & hardcore freefall slides, plus tubing & a lazy river for kids.
Very fun for all ages. They have many slides in all sizes. There is a really fun kids zone and even a toddler zone. I wish I had more pics of the slides. You can take your own food but certain things are not allowed inside the park for example glass, foam cups or plates, and speakers. Also if you take your own beer there's a fee you have to pay for each can you take into the park.
Carla C — Google review
Very quiet on a Friday. Lots of different pools for kids. Permits pool floats. Only downside is they only open certain rides during scheduled times during weekdays.
Nora P — Google review
Can’t Wait to Go Back El Rollo is a fun water park for the entire family. There is something for everyone. El Rollo can be enjoyed all year long, since the town it is in, Jojutla, is warm all year long. El Rollo isn't that crowded. The wait time for each ride is about 2-5 minutes. Sometimes, there is nobody in line at all! (The times we have gone have been during the week, so I’m not sure how crowded it gets on the weekend.) The food that they have is only so-so. We had the rotisserie chicken, and it was bland. They do have a variety of restaurants (a Traditional Mexican food restaurant, Dominos Pizza, Subway sandwiches, Alas alitas, a hamburger stand, and a couple of snack bars). My recommendation is to bring your own food and drinks. I was happily surprised they allowed outside food and drinks to be brought in. El Rollo is a very clean and organized park. There are lots of tables in shaded areas or with umbrellas. There are also a lot of pool chairs in the children’s section and near the wave pool. The temperature of the water is perfect. I have been to other water parks and public pools in Mexico and the water is often freezing at those places. The lockers are very convenient (there are several locker locations). You can get a locker for $60 pesos or a private locked changing room for $100 pesos for the day. The private changing room will hold up to 5 suitcases. The workers are very friendly and know the place very well so it is easy to find what you need (rides, bathrooms, restaurants, etc). The best part (as it should be) is there’s a great variety of water slides. There are slides the family can do together, slides for 2 people, daredevil rides (like the Pendulum), a wave pool, a river with waves, a large area for little kids (at 3-4 PM there are foam bubbles), and a surfing/boogie board simulator (the simulator costs a little extra). My family loves El Rollo so much we bought an annual pass.
Matteo H — Google review
Went on a Wednesday, not packed. Lots of fun. Huge place. We only went thru barely half of the park. You can bring your own food and drinks. You can get a Sam’s club or Santander card discount (not aware of other types of discounts), website also says there’s a discount. very clean. Lockers are available of diff sizes.
Steph R — Google review
El rollo what can I say about this place I've been going for years since I was to small to ride the big rides this is one of those places that your really just have to see and check out for yourself it's well worth it just make sure your kids are taller then 48in if not they still have plenty of rides for the little ones and two little water parks not far at all from all the action. One of my favorite rides is El racer you basically control the speed the harder you push off the faster you go and if you paid attention in science that's an advantage as you know when to pull up and drop your weight.
Aye G — Google review
Fun water park, entrance tickets are about 27 dollars each, you can bring an ice chest or there is several places to eat inside the park which are pricey overall good experience

The dive was amazing... my guide speaks English and he made the instructions very clear. I opted for 3rd person camera which cost 1350 pesos, worth it.. the diving video is of 90 sec long... But there were few more videos where they captured the flight take off, me preparing for the ride, how I felt before and after the dive... Our flight took 6 clients (us) and 8(crew) members... Take off and watching your friends jump were the frightening things... Once you jump it's just the adrenaline rush on seeing the amazing view and the spins were awesome (free fall spin - first 6sec, initial mini parachute spin, you being horizontal to the earth trying to float - next 45sec, finally the last spins with the parachute, you being vertical controling the parachute to have a perfect landing)…... Try to take a slot which is afternoon or late morning.. the brighter the sky the better... Also the place offers food and drinks.. they are affordable and the service is quick...

I had done Sky Diving on 6th August, 2025. I had already bought premium package for a very great amount. The only dicy thing was that there was a girl who was clicking pictures at landing. It was very strange that when we came that girl neither bothered to show the pictures nor sold it to us. She had already left the venue in few moments At the starting the people who did it had option to see it and then buy it. When I tried connecting on the number mentioned they were quite reluctant to show the pics and instead expecting to buy it . Isn't there responsibility to make sure if you had clicked pics to ask what's need to be done . This behaviour happened just with me is it because I am not of this country or you do it with everyone that's the question. Premium package does not include landing pics that's fine but what options are given to everyone should be given to me
Ma K — Google review
I enjoy flying with these folks. Very clean and organized. Good food available on site in their cafe. Always puntual with their service times for sky diving. My last few jumps were with Kike and I highly recommend asking for him. Of all the different places I’ve chosen to sky dive this is the best!!!
El L — Google review
This place is good for the experience but in our case were wait for hours for plane and after jump. Once time in the earth, we were wait for more hours by the videos and photos for that pass to the cel and the usb. The experience is incredible but the attention is a little bad.
ANGEL M — Google review
I would improve a little bit their logistics but the fact that I am back after skydiving with them makes all the things before that to be forgotten. The experience is incredible, I was a little afraid to do the jump but my instructor calm me and handled all the jump smoothly. Definitely an experience you should have at least once in your lifetime. Get there with at least half an hour before your appointment and be metalized to be at least 3 hrs more after you get scheduled for the jump. There are only beers, soft drinks, food and snacks for sale, so if you are looking for other drinks just be prepared yourself.

Skydive Mexico is one of the best and literally the cheapest sky dive experience in the world. Its located at Emiliano Zapata 19, 62680 San José Vista Hermosa, Mor., Mexico and is 2 hours drive from Mexico city on the Acapulco road. The drive is smooth and depending upon the crowd you can complete everything in 3 hours. The divers are extremely experienced, very well behaved and fun to be with in the overall experience. Don't miss this if you are in Mexico. The place also offers souvenirs and light munches. Overall a memorable place.

Absolutely beautiful place. The road to get there is in great condition, the landscape is awesome, parking is free, there is a little restaurant just by the entrance, they take cars payments and the food is very nice and not expensive at all, great service. the place is a must when visiting Ixtapan de la Sal. It is just a short drive away from downtown Ixtapan. The caves are connected by a subterranean river to other Cacahuamilpa Caves. Incredible place. The subterranean river experience was amazing. I accidentally touched some bat poop, but the rest was amazing. You can't bring your phone or camera down there, but if you have a waterproof case or camera and a little bag to keep it in, you can snap some good pictures. To enter, you have to climb down with a zip rope, and hold on to it to get to the river. You're gonna have to swim and dive in to keep on going, and it may be scary at some points, but it's definitely worth it. You're gonna exit the river and be welcomed with a beautiful view of green hills. Since the place shares a hill with Guerrero, you can say you also went there! Once you exit the cave, you're gonna walk through a jungle-like place, so don't forget to bathe yourself in mosquito repellent and sunscreen. The guides are fully trained and certified professionals, so they'll take good care of you. All of this for just 200 pesos and the 40 for adults or 30 for kids, at the entrance. The photos below show the entrance to the subterranean river.

Garden
Botanical garden with regionally themed sections, seasonal blooms & a restaurant.
This might be the best garden I’ve ever visited in Mexico! They have great displays with colour and tori and themed gardens which revolve around tropical plants, cactuses and succulents, Italian and Japanese design. Don’t miss the contemporary art walk. It’s quite a treat!

Very nice place to visit if you are not far from there. It’s botanist gardens with different style: Roman, Japanese. They host concert and wedding. They restaurant is good and staffs are very friendly.

Loooooved this place. I really like how they organised everything and how well maintained it is. We went on a weekday so the place was ours. It was a hot day but you could always find a shade to rest. It reminded me of Kew gardens because of the sectioning of the gardens instead of the plant habitats. I come from northwest Mexico so I had no idea this existed. Very proud we have something like this in Morelos.
Walkiria N — Google review
A very beautiful and well preserved collection of botanical gardens with the most typical styles from around the world. The place is quite big and it takes from 2 to 4 hours to walk across all the gardens and visit the open spaces that the place offer. The entrance cost appear to be a little expensive but it's really worth it, it's almost like entering to an amusement park. You can pay an additional amount (50 pesos at this time) to use the internal transport which I recommend if the weather is hot or if you are visiting the place with kids or elder people. Food from the restaurants inside the park is really expensive and it's not that good, a lot of people were complaining about the taste of the dishes, beverages are not included in the buffet. For food I suggest to go to a nearby town, Tequesquitengo which is 10 minutes by car from the park where you can find much better food with much lower prices.

I'd never thought that visiting a garden would be so much fun. I had zero expectations, but walking or experiencing all the gardens was a different experience. Bring water bottles with you

Wonderful place to spend the day walking in magnificent gardens! Though a little bit expensive to get there, it was worth the trip! I will love to go back in another season of the year to enjoy the blooming of the different gardens! I even enjoy an unexpected dance show from Veracruz state. Very, very good! Bring your children! They will love discovering the different environments!

It's a stunning place. Great option to have an awesome day with friends, family, partner o even your dog. They open the place for dogs time to time. I went during Summer, it's really beautiful but it changes according to the season. They recommend you visit on November when everything is yellow and December when everything turns into red. November is full of marigolds and other day of the dead typical flowers and December is painted on res because of the poinsettias. Of course, along Spring it is a rainbow. Definitely a wondrous place, must to visit several times. Try to stay there enough time. It's really hot so you will want to have some break throughout your visit. If you don't have any healthy issue, try to visit by walking, it's worthy!
Lexy ( — Google review
The place is nice, it is very well taken care of and you can see several plants. If you're into such well "groomed" gardens, this is the place for you. The WOW effect were the orchids and the cactuses. Easy to get to. You have to wear masks also outdoors. The buffet restaurant is nice, food is good. Drinks are not included.

Parque Nacional Grutas de Cacahuamilpa

National park
Nature & Parks
This park offers tours of its gardens & impressive cave system, one of the largest in the world.
If you are visiting Taxco or anywhere near by (even as a day trip from Mexico City), this is a must!! The caves were enormous, strikingly beautiful and the tour really immersed us in them. We have been travelling around Latin America for months and this was one of the most amazing places we saw. Some info for visiting: The buses leave from Taxco throughout the day, but it’s best going early. It is the bus that goes to Toluca but it stops at Grutas first (about 40 mins from Taxco). You then walk down the road to the park entrance (easy to follow and do). Tickets are 200 pesos per adult with a Spanish guide and tours leave on the hour every hour. Our Spanish isn’t amazing, but the caves are so incredible that you could know no Spanish at all and it wouldn’t detract from the experience. The bus back to Taxco is from the same stop and leaves every hour (we were told the last one is at 8pm so there’s no chance of missing it by the time the park closes). We visited in the week and we were a group of 4 which was great for allowing us to enjoy the caves without any crowds

Beautiful experience!! We highly recommend. It makes a good day trip from Puebla. The caves are huge! I have never seen a cave system this large. There were a lot of people but it didn't hurt our trip. We went on a Sunday afternoon.
Tina E — Google review
A couple of friends, Héctor & Sara took me here during my trip to Mexico, and I can’t even begin to explain how awe-inspiring this experience was. It’s a two-hour adventure, and you can start off by either zip-lining across the cave entrance or walking across—an incredible way to kick things off! I was absolutely blown away by the sheer size of the caves. Pictures will never do them justice—you truly have to be there in person to appreciate their vastness. It’s 100% worth the drive. The name Cacahuamilpa comes from the Náhuatl language, spoken by one of Mexico’s Indigenous cultures, and it means “fertile peanut planting field.” The area was named for its rich soil, which was ideal for growing peanuts. In pre-Hispanic times, many Indigenous tribes avoided entering the cave system, believing that the rock formations inside were evil spirits. Entering the caves was thought to bring bad luck. The caves’ modern history began in 1834 when a wealthy man from a nearby town hid inside them during a conflict. After returning home, he shared stories of the incredible caves, sparking interest in them. They officially opened to tourists in 1920, and in 1936, the Mexican government declared them a National Park. If you ever have the chance to visit, don’t hesitate—this is an unforgettable experience.

Best experience ever!! Make sure you bring the right shoes is slippery and a flashlight

This is one of the longest limestone cavern I have ever seen. It has been developed very nicely. The lights are helpful for pics and also to render the formations. They have a short zip line at the entrance which is at extra cost. There is also a small food area before entering. Sell coconut for 70 Pesos which is about twice the price compared to regular prices. All in all a great experience
Bali A — Google review
A delightful creation of nature, striking in its scale and beauty. A magical place where you feel like you’ve accidentally visited the underground giant kings. With all this, this place is perfectly equipped and even with children, traveling through it is safe and easy. Unfortunately, I simply forgot to buy a permit for “professional filming,” so don’t blame me for the photo...
Andre K — Google review
Best national park tour available! The tour guides are not only informative and knowledgeable but sprinkle in family friendly humor throughout to keep it interesting. Be prepared though the trek is long but the guides constantly check in with the group to assess the overall stamina and give plenty of heads up as to how much longer the tour lasts. The views of the cavern are breathtaking as the guides really know how to keep you engaged throughout the tour.

Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Parking: 5/5 Family friendly: 5/5 Stroller friendly: 3/5 I gotta say, i wasn't to sure what to expect from this place since it's out in the middle of nowhere-svillle, but I'm glad I was able to experience this amazing ecological park and cave. We did this on our way Taxco, Guerrero; México. The opens around 10-1030ish and there is a fee to park ($50 MXN, $1 USD). Just be prepared to get swarmed by vendors selling trinkets and what-not. It is the culture here, however I got used to it. To get into the caves there are guided cave tours ($8 USD, $150 MXN per person). Our guide was excellent, she explained the history of explorers and how the cave came to be, the inhabitants of the cave (bats), and some science of the minerals of stalactites and stalagmites. She spoke enough English to explain some things as well. There are also other activities like Ziplining where, instead of walking across the bridge to the cave, one can Zipline across which i think was $60 MXN. This trail is about a 4 KM (2 mile-ish) walk in dimly lit terrain in a humid enclosed cave, so if you or someone in your party is not into that you're able to turn around. Also, there are about 100 steps towards the turn around. BE PREPARED WITH WATER! Once done with the caves, thee are so many vendors selling coco frío, micheladas, and other excellent foods. We ended up at Fonda Mary that made excellent, fresh quesadillas, tacos dorados, and so many other delectable foods. I highly recommend this experience if you're on the fence about doing it.

Zoofari Centro de Conservación

Zoo
Outdoor Activities
Park
Conservation-focused zoo home to hippos, big cats & hyenas, offering hands-on feedings & safaris.
Fantastic place. They have a great variety of animals. Such a lovely day out with the family!
Rox V — Google review
The place is beautiful, and the experience is amazing with the smaller animals they have roaming. You then get to see buffaloes/bison, deer, zebras roaming around in herds and relaxing. It was splendid to get to see them in real life and see that they are being taken care of so well. * Spacing issues: However, it instantly became evident that not all animals get the same treatment. Big animals are in very small spaces, it was heartbreaking to see the majestic elephants, hippos, big white lions, dromedaries, chimpanzees, and hyenas in small spaces. Two big hippos in a smaller pool, the elephants each had a small space where all they'd do is walk around in circles. The "Zoo" area (after the safari), had animals boxed up too including a cassowary, smaller birds and goats. They are trying to work towards preserving endangered species and I fully support this, but I can't unsee the unequal treatment ESPECIALLY towards the species they are "saving". I attached some images so you can all appreciate the chimpanzees (there were about 5 total in that semi circle of grass and one threw a rock at us, yes he missed by a lot and there was NO DANGER), but I don't blame his anger) The 2nd star is only because the "safari" area that have species like white dear, buffalo, and wild goats is huge and great. But not all animals get to roam around freely and enjoy a bit of "freedom". The rest of the animals suffer all day and they are all pacing, back and forth, back and forth. Leave them in nature if you will have them in a box until they die. * The GOOD (mostly the beginning of the tour "Stage 1"): The safari space and tour is amazing. There are animals roaming around, and you can interact with them such as geese, swans, capybaras, Patagonian maras, they sometimes release the giraffes, wild goats that all want you to feed them. This was an adorable experience that I will forever cherish. * Staff and information: The staff is very friendly and informative, but the areas of the zoo don't all have information about the name of the animal in the tiny cage. I'd like to see the name of the species and what their habitat is, diet, mating information, etc. * Pricing: There are too many bad reviews for pricing. The price is fine and accessible, and knowing that your entree fee is used to maintain such a beautiful environment for animals and to feed and care for them should discourage people from complaining about things being expensive. Organizations that preserve wildlife don't have that much support and we should make that change with at least not complaining about entree fees. donations are welcome to help these creatures out. I had high hopes for this place. I am sure that with more support and donations they can continue to improve. So I welcome you to visit and have the experience of your life and share feedback like this with them.

Face masks and social distancing not enforced... most enclosures are shamefully too small and some animals look bored and have open sores... I refuse to take my kids to zoos because of the cruelty but was convinced to try here... although it is better than zoo's it does not go far enough... adjacent land would be cheap and should be purchased to give, especially the big, animals more space to run and exercise.

We are big fans of Africam Safari in Valsequillo, but we loved the closeness with the animals in Zoofari. We loved to feed a giraffe (this king of experiences have an extra cost in africam). Save food for the last part, we ran out of food and Animals are very keen for looking for food from the cars and constantly close the way for you to stop and give them food, you need to be careful

Cristo Rey, also known as Cristo Monumental, is a must-visit spot in Taxco for breathtaking city views. Perched on a hilltop, it offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the city. While some visitors hike up to reach this stunning viewpoint, others opt for a short taxi ride. However, safety concerns have been raised due to some visitors standing on the fence for better pictures.
a great place for sunrise, the city is in the palm of your hand. you will get positive emotions!

Get ready for a taxi right you will never forget in your life. These drivers are amazing in terms how they navigate these extremely steep and narrow cobblestone roads up the hill. As of April 2025 it was 200 peso at day time and 250 peso for the sunset to drive up, the driver will wait for 20 min before driving those scary roads down to the Zocolo again. The views are good but the actually drive up and down is the real adventure.
Marco R — Google review
If you visit Cristo Rey to have a birds-eye view of Taxco, take a taxi! The walk is not far, but it is very steep! I walked which was great exercise but tough. As well I went in the early evening but sunrise would be spectacular.
Robert B — Google review
I loved the 360 view, it's simply expectacular. You don't have to pay or buy any tickets to get to this beautiful sightseeing spot. I had only one concern, and it is about safety. I could witness some visitors standing on top of the fence to get a better picture taken of themselves. That was extremely dangerous 😳. Everyone is on it's own. Mexican citizens are adorable human beings, they are so warm and kind.
Alexander L — Google review
The view of the town is wonderful. We dared to walk all the way up on foot; not recommended for older or unfit tourists. For us, totally worth it. You can catch a local tiny bus on the way down for less than a dollar per person.
Ariel G — Google review
Beautiful View! Get ready to work out, because reaching this place is no joke, even if the Convi ( little mini Van bus) drops you off at the entrance. Ps, there is one little Van bus that takes you closer, that's the Number 80. It takes about 45 minutes to do a round trip, so it might be hard to see. You cAn always take a taxi, they usually charge you by the hour In this beautiful town.

Killer hike! Lots of switchbacks on the way up to the monument from the Zocalo, but worth the miradores that you find along the way. Not much to do at the top but cool off and enjoy the beautiful view.

Great views of the city. Too far to walk and definitely don’t drive. The roads are narrow and windy and mainly only have room for one car at a time so many times someone has to back up to allow cars going the other direction to pass. Worth a taxi ride.

It features the stunning Santa Prisca temple and holds historical significance as the former residence of Mr. Fidel Figueroa, an American painter. The house, known as the House of Tears due to its history with mistreated Tlahuica people, now showcases art donated by Figueroa to the government.
Central part of Taxco by the church. Lots of locals out, people selling crafts, and cars driving by. Restauraunts and silver shops all around. Worth just spending some time sitting and enjoying the vibe.

It is the city center of Taxco (whatever that means). Lively plaza with beautiful views of Sta Prisca church (unmissable). The atmosphere after, say, 5 pm is great. Santa Prisca de Taxco, a church built in 1758, is an iconic landmark in the town of Taxco. Its opulent facade features elaborate Churrigueresque belfries and a simple yet elegant nave made of rose-colored stone. Inside, visitors can admire the intricately sculpted, gold-covered altarpieces. The church's baroque architecture and stunning views make it a must-visit attraction in Taxco.
One of the most beautiful churches I’ve ever seen. Santa Prisca sits right in the middle of Taxco and really stands out with its pink stone and incredibly detailed facade. Inside, it's just as impressive — gold everywhere, intricate carvings, and a really peaceful atmosphere despite all the activity outside. You don’t have to be religious to appreciate the craftsmanship here. It’s a quick visit but definitely a highlight of Taxco. There are also great views of the church from nearby rooftops and restaurants, especially around sunset.

Build by Jose de la Borda a prosperous miner of Taxco who became bankrupt owing to the high cost of this but later stuck silver and became even more wealthy. It is one of the best new Spanish constructions. Santa Prisca has nine floor-to-ceiling altarpieces, worked in wood and covered with gold leaf. The style of the altarpieces forms a unit with the architectural ensemble, that is, it is a sample of mid-18th century New Spanish Baroque
Bali A — Google review
Stunning architecture and home to the world’s largest silver Virgin of Guadalupe Santa Prisca de Taxco is the crown jewel of Taxco. The Baroque architecture is breathtaking, with its detailed stonework and iconic twin towers making it a standout right in the center of the town. The interior is equally impressive, filled with ornate altars, intricate artwork, and a peaceful, reverent atmosphere. One of the most unique features is the solid silver statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe, said to be the largest in the world. Standing six feet tall and weighing around 380 pounds, this statue is a true reflection of Taxco’s silver heritage and a highlight of any visit. Founded in 1751, Santa Prisca holds historical and cultural significance, contributing to Taxco’s reputation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. An awesome experience, combining history, architecture, craftsmanship, and spiritual importance in one unforgettable visit.

What a beautifully designed church. It is the heart of the town. Beautiful Inside and out. Once inside everywhere you lay eyes on you see intricate designs. The silver Virgen de Guadalupe is life size and is a testament of Taxco being the capital of silver of Mexico. Zocalo, Taxco is home to the stunning Santa Prisca Church, a religious building known for its Spanish colonial Baroque architecture and interior covered in gold. The area also offers affordable dining options and a cable car service with scenic views. This magical Mexican town is nestled among mountains in Guerrero, offering delicious food, picturesque spots, and pet-friendly locals.
This must be one of the nicest Zocalo in Mexico, peaceful, birds are chirping, vendors hawking their goods and above all the magnificent Church. Beautiful square to just hang out, sipping an ice coffee and watch the people.

We visited the Santa Prisca Church. It is beautiful inside and out. Take the time to go up the Tower to see a nice view of the whole town. The only bad thing is all these people trying to sell you something every step you take. They don't let you take all this beauty in in peace.

Charming town square full of life and local character The Zócalo of Taxco is everything you’d hope for in a small Mexican mountain town. lively, picturesque, and full of local charm. Surrounded by whitewashed colonial buildings, narrow streets, and the stunning Santa Prisca Church, it’s the perfect place to sit, relax, and soak up the atmosphere. Street vendors, small cafés, and silver shops line the area, and the vibe is welcoming and peaceful. Whether you're enjoying a coffee, people-watching, or starting your exploration of the town, the Zócalo feels like the natural heart of Taxco. It’s simple but special experience for its authentic, small-town Mexico feel.

And well, I was delighted with a girl named Suri, since she was our guide on part of the tour of the museum and she is a very nice, pleasant and attentive person. She made our tour very enjoyable and interesting, she answered all of my daughter's questions and she always had a smile. I do recommend the place to have a good time with the little ones in the house. Ella nos hizo muy ameno e interesante nuestro recorrido, a mi niña le resolvía todas sus dudas y ella siempre con una sonrisa. Si recomiendo el lugar para pasar un buen rato con los pequeños de la casa.

They have a cafeteria to eat, there are games and many rooms to learn. The prices are very affordable. (Original) Es un museo muy bien equipado, los cuates están bien informados y son amables. (Translated by Google) Excellent attention from the friends. Although the material is aimed at children, adults can also enjoy it. Prices are accessible to everyone. There are new attractions although some old ones like the bed of nails are missed. (Original) Excelente atención de los cuates. A great set of ruins that has been basically empty the two times we have gone there. It is awesome having personal tours around a great historical site with no crowds.

Our group of 3 people who were staying in Acapulco hired a driver to visit the ruins of tehuacalco. It was very interesting. I highly recommend you visit. Our driver served as a translator as the ruins guides do not speak English. Had a tasty lunch afterwards in tierra Colorado of rice, beans, tortillas, guacamole, and servesas for 4. 220 pesos!
