Really cool place for outdoor activities like fishing, canoeing, having a picnic and stay at a cottage, also for hiking, to the beautiful "Bufa" cliff. The place has a restaurant where you can eat local food. The place has a parking lot where you can park your car securely for a cheap price. This dam is located within a "pueblo magico", so it's a well rounded option to visit for the whole weekend.

What a nice place! You can do this as a couple or as a family trip, you are going to spend some beautiful time far and free from pollution and stress of the City, I would recommend 100%.

Amazing and peaceful place

1. Be careful of the cartsman!!! Because we need the carts to bring the food to the grill area. We didn't ask for the price before (Because we usually believe there are trust among people ). After the cartsman bring the food from the parking place to grill area(Just around 150 meters), the man asked 100 PESOS for one carrito!!! It is a rip off. (Probably because we are foreigners). 2. There were at least 10 dogs(Street dogs or dogs raised by the villagers) in the grill area, begging for food, and fighting each other for food. No one is managing the place, or provide a complete barrier to avoid dogs to go insde. 3. if you just want to go there for grill from Mexico City , I highly don't recommend here. It is far (2+ hours driving) , has only ordinary scenery, dishonest cartsman and poor management.

A nice lake, but the water isn't super beautiful. We had a picnic near the water in a quiet spot away from the crowd.

The Centro Ceremonial Otomí in Temoaya, Mexico, is a unique cultural and architectural site built to honor the Otomí people. Surrounded by mountains and forests, it features monumental sculptures, plazas, and temples. The place hosts traditional ceremonies and events, offering visitors a glimpse into indigenous heritage and spiritual traditions.

The roads to get there are not in good shape, too many speed bumps, and very little signage, but as you approach the forest, the scenery becomes refreshing. Once there, be ready to climb stairs to make it to the top, but it is all worthwhile. You will appreciate the size of the place, take a deep breath, and enjoy the view.

Awe-inspiring place indeed. The sheer size, the almost alien design and the amazing views. Open from 10-3 due to COVID. Reasonable entry fee of 30 per adult,15 per child and 20 for parking. Pets are not allowed. The artesanal market had many stalls closed but all the food places were open and serving some delicious tlacoyos, quesadillas and gorditas, also coffee and atole. Plenty of vegetarian options and reasonably priced. The toilets are next to this mercado. Be prepared to climb lots of stairs. Allow for 1 to 1.5 hours atleast. The place gets quite windy and chilly, take some thick jackets! The morning is best for photo opportunities and gets crowded after noon.

Overwhelming place to visit. The shear size of the site is massive. I do wish Mexico would take some of the admission fees and hire local tour guides. My brother and I were left to figure out what this place was used for. Got lost finding it so make sure you download an offline map of the area. Plenty of space for picnics, camping areas and fresh water fishing near by. Supported the local pulque distributor. 35 pesos per adult and you get to pay for parking. The photos don't do it's justice. Be prepared to avoid the most potholes you've seen the last 5 miles.

This is an interesting modern space built in the 80s for the Otomi ancient indigenous people to have their ceremonies. Resembles ancient pyramid forms bit with modern figures. If you're able to visit it you will not regret it.

Beautiful cathedral it’s the oldest in town

You can feel the history all around you as you walk through the cathedral an eighties at Macy the architecture and the magnitude up instructor it really makes you wonder how it was built not to mention all the beautiful artwork including the stained glass

Nice cathedral, which looks a bit unfinished from the outside. Inside though we can view some nice stained glass and other catholic art.

It is a dark church and the street vendors and indigents outside make the place look unwelcoming. It was under construction the few times we went to visit.

I like everything so beautiful catedral.

There was no wait time. The entrance fee was 100 pesos. The museum is big with many ancient items. It's clean inside and outside. The museum is big, so bring good walking shoes and your reading glasses if needed. Entrance has a lot of greenery. There are a few information sheets in English, but very little. My two young girls loved the museum as well. We definitely learned a lot.

What a beautiful museum. Found an independent tour guide as we were walking in and she was a wealth of knowledge. Not needed but she was informative. The church was impressive. The baroque style of architecture is in full display and here to admire.

This is a big museum that contains Jesuit priests old life details, entry to church which has a breath taking view of the altar with golden paint all over. The museum also contains pictures and hand work of Jesus, Mother Mary, St Joseph, Many saints and angels, Mayan ruins pictures , Spanish history in Mexico and a lot many to go through in this museum. The bathroom are very neat and the entire area is well maintained. There is no entry fee on Sunday only.

The staff was very nice and the museum is worth visiting if you are in the area. A glimpse in history and a great panoramic view of the entire Mexico City valley from the terrace.

Beautiful paintings and historic items throughout. The main halls of the church all have important pieces on display as well as takes on some of the early invaders in Mexico. Make sure to have a nice meal before you go to this museum as it's very large and it can take several hours to cover everything.

Wonderful museum to visit while you're visiting the beautiful town of Tepozotlan. Place is quite big, so expect a good walk. Lots of chapels, Spanish paintings, and green areas.

It's a small town a few miles from Mexico City. If you can, avoid visiting it at weekends; because it's literally crowded! Yet, if you come during the week, you have to pay around 4 USD (year 2018) to enter, and it's free on Sundays. The museum is exquisite with real baroque pieces as it is part of a monastery. After visiting the museum, you may take a walk around the square and have a snack, mealor a drink in the nearby restaurant which most of them offer Mexican traditional food.

This UNESCO world heritage place is really beautiful whether inside (gold made) or outside. The museum is interesting and beautiful. One of the most beautiful churches I’ve ever seen in my life and so close to Mexico City. My recommendation to get there: Use the suburban train to avoid traffic (get down at Cuautitlan station which is the last one and then take an Uber or DiDi to Tepotzotlan downtown).

An amazing beautiful park to spent the entire day. You can rent bikes, walk around the amazing gardens and enjoy nature. This is a great place for kids. Food is good but you can bring snacks or lunch. A little expensive since everything has a cost but it is worth every single penny you spent. Don't forget sun blocker, water and fresh outfit.

Family place with young kids from 2-3 to 12 max years old, sell a day pass for Mex $150 pesos + the entry price Mex $65 kids and Mex $85 adults . The pass includes 4 blues activities and 1 red. Place is 1h from México city nice for a pic nic and family time or bday. Some of the bikes are a bit rusty and hard to drive, soccer bubbles, jumping slot, tiny climbing thing, parking is NOT included cost MEX$ 50.

Nice setting to spend a few hours with the kids, there were many dahlias and a cute pond, several playgrounds and camping areas. It is not allowed to take a picnic inside.

Nice place to share time with the family. The only inconvenience I found was that not all the attractions were available. I loved to ride in bicycle with my son.

This is a fun garden that we visited to see a Pastorela (a typical Mexican Christmas play). The facilities are well maintained and the gardens are very pretty.

A remarkable zoo. We visit a zoo when ever we can in a new city and this one has topped all the others we have seen to date. The animal activity is healthy and fun. The zoo is large and clean. We enjoyed the aquarium exhibit with the video footage showing animals in their true habitat instead of a glass water bowl. The elephants and rhinos were active and fun, the camel also. We almost witnessed the birth of a Buffalo cow but they said the process could take 14 hours.. but we saw the labor and the start. The savanna was large and the animals seemed very content. Definitely a worthwhile day. Very enjoyable and a beautiful park

Went with my in laws, husband, and daughter. It is a beautiful zoo! Even has a very nice park for little ones to burn off energy and the cotton candy is huge!

It's a very nice place to spend the day. Entrance and parking are cheap. You can get plenty of stuff inside the zoo, and prices are reasonable from $20 to $70. Everything is around $30 per person. Except "tirolesa" and boats the lake that are $70 and $80. There is plenty to eat, and some places take credit and debit cards.

Is a cool zoo to visit. I witness how the person checking the tickets at the entrance asked a family to go for a refund as their son with a disability shouldn't have paid a ticket at they go in for free. Anyone else would have kept silent as many do. We had a fun day. The only negative was that there were many exhibits closed or missing animals and/or their corresponding explanation sheet displayed.

One of my favorite archeological sites that has few visitors. Several pyramids and a ball court. Visitors can climb the pyramids, and even picnic on top. The museum is also very good. The site is on a hill overlooking the Valle de Toluca, with great views on clear days. Best to go in cooler months as there is no shade. And it takes so.e planning to get there from Mexico City, but easily done as day trip.

Sprawling site with multiple levels. It was fun to explore and climb around. You can see the valley below from all different directions. Charming and free!

It's a beautiful place by the ancients! One problem you will have to walk up it probably takes 5 minutes to get there but it's worth it there's also a museum at the main entrance where you park your car. It's worth visiting It will explain the ancients. It's worth it in my opinion.

Great hike up to La Hermita de San Miguel. 3,000' of elevation gain, 12,400' at the top. A few parts are not very well marked. Well worth a visit here as the other ruins are fascinating to see.

Must see, nice walk down through thr park after visiting the convent. Uber/taxi up the hill. There is limited reception up top, walk around a little if you do want an uber home or reserve

Very cool and unique sight. You can ride a ride share cab out there, but won’t have reception once you arrive. The last bus back to town left at 5pm, but I hailed a cab to get off the mountain and rideshared home once I got reception again.

One of Mexico City’s most popular and attractive hiking spots is the rather ominously named Desierto de los Leones (Lion Desert, literally). Not to worry though, as you’re far more likely to see hordes of hikers, bikers and families tackling the craggy trails of this spectacular national park, than you are to see lions roaming amongst the trees. The trails to be found here range from moderate to difficult, but all are easily located and followed. One of the most challenging hikes heads to the park’s highest peak, Cerro San Miguel, which clocks in at 12,400 feet above sea level.

Quite beautiful and tons to see. Great to walk and explore. There's so much off the side streets if you know where to look. Great experience. I had some locals with me that made it much more interactive and enjoyable. The main drag is great to stroll the park and see the flowers and jacaranda trees with their purple blooms.

(April 2025 - Jacarandas in full Bloom). Walk north from Bosque de Chapultepec all the way to the Angel de Independencia. Enjoy the wonderfully tree lined avenida. Enjoy the artwork, skyscrapers, world class hotels (Ritz Carlton, St. Regis and Westin). Great statues and monuments along the way. Turn around at the Arcangel and walk south on the other side of the street. This is THE Avenida of National Pride for the nation of Mexico. You'll LOVE IT. Yes - it's safe. Use UBER - NOT taxis. Major hotels along the way also have private cars to take you wherever you desire to go ($$$$).

A stunningly beautiful street that leads through downtown CDMX out to Santa Fe. Very walable with endless stores and restaurants around you. I love how it's closed every weekend for bikes and pedestrians. A must visit!

I was fortunate to stay along the Paseo de la Reforma during Christmas December 2024. My first impressions, were that the Boulevard is very wide, with another passageway running in parallel. I was later informed they had inspirations from grand boulevards from European cities and you can see those similarities. I stayed in between Dianna the Huntress statue and the Angel of Independence. Along the Paseo de la Reforma, there are market stalls selling Mexican goods like t-shirts, souvenirs, magnets and other items. You can also grab a bite to eat such as tacos, fruit juices, sweet pancakes and elotes (Mexican corn). During the Christmas season, the Reforma is beautifully decorated in spectacular Christmas pictures and bright sparkling lights.

The Building is so incredibly ugly, but the exhibition is absolutely fantastic. It’s a shame that there is not much description next to the most famous artefacts., however you can always use Claude to get an explanation of what you have just seen. Do you go to the upper floor where no one is to get some rest and sit down while you hop from civilisation to civilisation. Surprisingly, The Restaurant that is inside the Museum is not bad at all, and not even with expensive. I suggest you do take a break because there is so much to see, and it’s better still to have some energy to see them all in one day

Wow this place is massive! This is a two level, U-shaped museum offering thousands of unique historical finds from all over Mexico. They also have foreign exhibits seasonally. You start on one end, work your way through the halls, and end up at the end of the building. Plan on spending at least 2-3 hours exploring all the great things to see. There is a little park and courtyard right outside where you can grab a quick snack before going in.

We booked the "Amigo" guided tour and were helped by this awesome Leonardo dude. This is such a great experience where we learned so much about the amazing history of Mexico, about its culture and traditions, and it's definitely a blast! Would absolutely recommend this museum, this guided tour, and Leonardo the perfecto, to everyone who's interested.

Plethora of various artefacts from pre-hispanic civilazations of Mesoamerica and i guess that is what most if us come to Mexico for. You will find them here. Not sure why some descriptions are in spanish only though. Also during my visit some of the outdoor areas were closed. I've been twice here, and not sure why but there was a day with free entrance.

By far a must see while in Mexico City. It’s a vast museum, so give yourself a whole day because there are multiple buildings and floors. But we found it to be exceptional and worth it. We also took a break halfway through and enjoyed an amazing lunch at the museum restaurant. Wear your comfortable walking shoes and take as many pics as you can!

What a complex! We took the Turismo bus (yes, they are wheelchair accessible!) to it, and lo and behold we didn't need our portable ramp to get around this huge set of museums. We tried to hit all the major parts of the museum, but you really need to take more than one day to grasp the full scale of the place. And for essentially $5 US dollars per person, it's pretty much a steal! As you can see, we mostly stuck to the sections with older artifacts, basically triaging our time so we could get the most out of it. The wheelchair accessibility is pretty good, save for the back of buildings that led out into gardens and a tomb replica. As for getting something to eat, there are vendors strung along in a row right in front of the main entrance plaza, and the food is cheap and delicious. Sit and eat in the adjoining park area and enjoy dogs and children playing in the fountains. And of course, last but not least, there is a gift shop, where you can buy all sorts of books and other items to take home with you.

This is one additional beautiful part of Mexico City ! It is a MUST visit ! No 2 ways about it. There are 2 lineups at the ticket office.1 for cash and 1 for card. The card lineup was shorter so we had a two minute wait there and the lady that gave us. Our tickets took one look at us in with all our gray hair and wrinkles. Gave us a free admission for old farts. Lol. Getting an order does have its advantages. It’s a slow steady walk up a gradual incline before reaching this thing of beauty. This is where they stamp your ticket. There is only a few people ahead of us. It was around noon on a Friday afternoon. When we left, there were a lot more people, but still the line was moving fairly quickly. We spent a few hours roaming around through this magnificent structure with its beautiful displays and wonderful gardens.

This is a stunning walk through a historical building filled with beautiful artwork from a few different eras . The castle itself has a few different exhibits and the living areas of the place are staged and have explanations in Spanish and English about the use of each of space. Views from the top of the castle looking down the hill are incredible and worth the hike up.

Entrance was about 5USD. There was a lot of art, history, and scenery here. Easily spent a few hours here. The only con for those who may be older or with disabilities, you must walk uphill in order to arrive to the castle. There were a few cars that were able to enter, I assumed for drop off. I would look into this if needed.

I'm a big fan of the park surrounding the castle but found the castle itself beautiful but rigid. I had my full frame camera with me when I purchased the ticket at the ground level entrance. After walking up the hill, the xop checking tickets asked if I could remove my lens from my camera? There was a 0% chance that was happening and if this is an actual rule it should be displayed when you purchase the ticket. Everything else was without incident.

Lovely castle to walk around. It is a 5-10min walk up to the castle so bring comfortable walking shoes. The front half of the castle exhibits are only in Spanish, but the second half of the castle had translations. Lovely walk through history of Mexico and high up viewpoint of cityscape. 100 mxn entry free for foreigners, can buy them at the door.

Beautiful castle, home to more than 62 vireyes and presidents , a lot of home display pieces of art from that time and mexican history. Gorgeous gardens and balconies with incredible views of the park and Paseo de la Reforma angel statue. Entrance fee $100 pesos . Pictures allow, a bit of walk from main entrance to the castle about 10 minutes .Washroom available. Bad check by the entrance. Crowded most days.No water or food allowed inside. Mondays is closed. Definitely a place to see .Time to spend 3h plus to make the visit worth it.

An incredible space. Beautifully preserved and presented to show how life was like during those times. A fascinating presentation of history. Well worth the visit!

Went just to see the basilica. It surprise me how big this thing is. It holds mass every hour and turns out ppl come from everywhere here to do pilgrimage. Its amazing to see how strong the faith they have here. It has a nice view from the hill and so many souvenir shops around the basilica as well.

Really nice experience to see the old churches and the new, side by side. You can also clearly see the sinking of the buildings due to the fact it is all laying on an old lake bed. Easy to get to with public transport so be adventurous.

A must visit We spent many hours praying, attending mass. For the first timers do plan for to spend at least 5 hours. There are many chapels in addition to the basilica. Museum dedicated to our lady has many artifacts and it’s only 10 pesos to enter. Pray, reflect and receive blessings from our Mother

The Basilica of Guadalupe was on our minds to visit as we were traveling through Mexico. We attended the mass but was in Spanish but was still an experience. The other churches are all in the same vicinity. Very peaceful, friendly people everywhere. The church on the top is not an easy walk but the church is beautiful and the view is amazing.

Excellent place to take your family to visit and share other religions. . . Very clean. Must have exact change to use the WC (bathrooms/toilets) 5 peso's. Bathrooms must take stairs to get to it. There are handicap bathrooms as well that have elevators.

Beautiful place with a calming energy. However, had I known about the beautiful stray dogs and cats that live there I would have brought food and water. You can purchase water there but please bring kibble and a plate. The Basilica should have a donation box that goes directly to them.

A very very sacred and awesome place. You will find peace and loads of pilgrims. A very famous and one of the world's most visited sacred sites in Catholicism.

A beautiful palace full of interesting art. It was free during my visit which is a nice gesture. The exhibits were cool, I won't pretend to be so interested in art. The property itself is a work of art and a great place for photographers to take some shots. Highly recommended!

This place is amazing ! The theatre tour is every 30 min. alternating between Spanish and English. It is definitely a must see and experience. We then proceeded to get a ticket for the art gallery. Being senior there was no charge. But I would’ve gladly paid. The architecture and the attention to detail. The floors, the walls, the ceilings the columns are all together. The artwork of course is “different strokes for different folks” but all in all, just amazing ! What a beautiful experience !

Really worth a visit it has 17 stunning murals by famous Mexican artists like Diego Rivera and paintings. We joined a free guided tour and the guide was great at explaining the murals(4/5) and their hidden symbolisms. I would totally recommend to join a tour as there is much that the descriptions won't be able to cover

Amazingly beautiful venue for theatre and dance. It’s a magnificent artistic building itself. We saw the ballet folklorico here while in town and bought the cheaper tickets with balcony seats up top. And it was still a great experience.

We saw the Lilia Carillo exhibition and Diego murals , took about a hour and half but we took our sweet time. Def recommend visiting. Tickets were about 5$ per adult

Art Nouveau outside and art deco inside. The palace is possible the most beautiful building in Mexico City. The best view from outside comes from the café across the street (8th floor of Sears). Nice murals inside too, including Rivera’s.

I walked in without knowing much about the history and solely depended upon the Google reviews. This was a huge mistake. I didn’t even know it has gallery rooms. It is one of those places where the reviews can be way off the mark. So I recommend reading something about this place and its events beforehand since there are no English speaking guides (unless you hire one) or plaques available. For some incorrect reviews, there are 5 pieces of Diego Rivera’s murals. Other than the destroyed Rockefeller Center reproduction, four murals of “Carnaval de la Vida Mexicana” series are here. It is not well known but you should not miss them if you are a fan. And other murals are magnificent as well. On the way up to the third floor, they drove us through the Lilia Carrillo show. I was initially vexed but it turned out as a great opportunity to see her paintings although I had no knowledge about her life and artworks. One thing that really bothered me was there were Spanish speaking guides explaining two murals. The one who guides the “Man, the Controller of the Universe” stays in front of it too long giving the audience an “unwarranted one hour lecture” while asking them foolish questions. I couldn’t get close to see the details thanks to that. I hope they shorten the time. It is a great place to visit for sure.

A stunning church in the heart of CDMX. Built over the original indigienous Temple Mayor, this now succeeds it as the main church in the city. I'm not a Christian but I enjoyed the beauty of the building from a photography standpoint. Definitely worth visiting.

Incredible cathedral with a very rich history and impressive collection of relics. Getting the chance to visit after hours in a small group with a personal welcome by the rector and pan de muerto afterwards made for a once in a lifetime experience. Looking forward to visiting by day next time, but this tour was very very special.

Beautiful architecture. Its a cool place to see. Surrounds the cathedral there are so many vendors selling a lot of stuff. And on the side of it, there are still a lot of tarot reader and shamans offering to clean your soul. Quite ironic but very interesting.

Took 250 years to build. So this cathedral carries over two centuries of history just to build and its designs reflecting those unique periods of design. A must visit. Absolutely stunning.

Wonderful market . Independent traders Spices, food and flowers. Little food stalls for tasty snacks. Toilets by the entrance are clean. Great murals on walls outside. Arrived by metro . Sadly this type and size of traditional market no longer exists in UK .Much more fun than an out of town multinational supermarket.

My absolute favorite mercado! Spacious market, open air but covered. Glorious flowers and masterful arrangements. Spices, candy, party decorations, snacks, produce, and pet supplies also available for sale. MUST SEE! We almost skipped it because we thought 'eh it's just flowers, it's not like we're gonna buy a bouquet'. Loved this place!

It’s a beautiful market with many sections. Flowers, Party stuffs, grocery and food stalls. I really enjoy a lunch there and then wander about to see other section, then get some food before heading home. Love it!

What a unique market! Mercado Jamaica is most well known as being a flower market. It was cool seeing the hustle and bustle of all the various flowers being sold. There are also stalls selling produce, meat, dried goods, sweets, snacks, and household items (I didn't see any souvenir knick knacks being sold though. We arrived shortly before 10 am on a Friday to avoid any potential crowds, and it seemed to work. We walked around for about 45 minutes and ended up buying some candies to bring home. I did wish they had stalls selling hot food (like tacos, etc.) but I didn't see any. Worth visiting if you have time!

The best Taco I had in Mexico City. I ate at 20 taco Stores including Michelin Star Awarded califa de leon but carnitas y guidados stole my Heart ❤️

A huge market, and when I say huge - I'm talking about HUGE! With products ranging from piñatas, fresh fruits, nuts , flowers and more. They have a seperate flower market which is almost as big as the main market. I had some fresh coconut, watermelon and even some tacos, made in front of me. This place is used by the locals for their monthly supplies so many things are purchased in bulk. A very awesome experience.

The museum was incredible - getting to first hand experience the space where Frida lived and died and and many of her beautiful works hanging throughout. My only issue was how wildly crowded it was. The tickets are sold in 15 minute intervals but unfortunately that staggering doesn’t do much - we would wait behind 10-15 people at each table to try and view the displays and read about Frida. At times there were so many people in the next room we would have to stand and wait 5-7 minutes before being able to move in, or so many people taking influencer posed photos on the stairs that you couldn’t even exit the home I’m Not sure that there’s any way to change those things but they were the only downside of an otherwise incredible experience.

I visited the Frida Kahlo Museum on Sunday, and it was such a lovely place! There’s so much interesting information about her life, beautiful art, and amazing antiques. I recommend watching the movie Frida first—it helps you understand and appreciate the museum even more. The ticket price was reasonable, but I suggest booking in advance because there was quite a long queue. It’s also best to take an Uber from your location to the museum. I absolutely loved this place! Walking through the house where Frida Kahlo lived for 36 of her 47 years was an incredible and emotional experience. Every corner of the Blue House feels alive with her spirit — from the vibrant colors on the walls to the intimate details of her studio, bedroom, and garden. Seeing the actual objects she used, the clothes she wore, and the tools she painted with makes her story deeply personal. You can feel both her strength and vulnerability as you move through the rooms that witnessed her struggles, her creativity, and her love for Diego Rivera. It’s not just a museum — it’s a journey through her life, her art, and her resilience. A visit to the Frida Kahlo Museum is truly unforgettable and an absolute must for anyone visiting Mexico City.

This was incredible!!!!!! I didn’t get tickets before our trip so I had to do a walking tour to get an entrance ticket. The walking tour was great but wow this museum was cool. I loved that it included some of frida’s works and her real painting materials and furniture. There’s a tiny gift shop thing, which was just enough without being over the top or overly commodifying. I will remember this visit for a long, long time.

A must visit if you are visiting Mexico City. This museum has a lot of history behind it and you will get to see the place where Frida Kahlo spent her final years with all artifacts and detailed history of her. It would take 3 hours to get around. Make sure you book your tickets in advance (either directly or via tour operators) as they are quickly sold. They also have a gift shop and cookie shop inside if you wanted to refresh. Please visit if you are in CDMX.

It was a dream come true. I admire Friday Kahlo, and it's privilege to get access to the actual house she lived. The colors, easel she used, the beautiful kitchen, original paintings, her personal journals, original dress collection, everything is preserved and maintained so well. If you not watched Frida Kahlo movie just watch before entering the museum, you will relate more.

Book the tickets in advance and come on time. The exhibition is not really showing much, but it does show some spirits of Frida Kahlo. The atmosphere all around is very nice and relaxing. Take a seat in the garden and enjoy the vibes would also be a good experience.

You have to plan on spending a few hours here. When I went the Temple of the Moon had just been opened two days before to be able to climb, but check ahead for any changes. Some of the archeological work was also open to be able to walk around. The museum and botanical garden is very impressive. There are signs throughout that tell you about the history but I'd definitely recommend getting a guide if you can; they love being able to tell you even more about the history.

Amazing decorations and sculptures of the Feathered Serpent. The complex is a bit more further away from the Sun and the Moon temples, the places majority of guests get limited to. The 1...2 km is worth the time. Porto 2 / Entrance 2 gives good entrance close to the Temple of the Feathered Serpent.

The closest pyramid to Puerta 1 of the Teotihuacan archeological site. If you are visiting from Puerta 2 close to the Pyramid of the Sun and Moon it might not be worth the 20 min walk across many stairs and under the sun, but if you're young and fresh you might enjoy the challenge, and it's much less crowded!

Pretty self paced. We did not get a guide, but would recommend if you didn't grow up in México. The whole tour took us a bit over 3hrs. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Love it!

don’t just go for the sun and moon pyramids when you’re here, take a walk down the path to this pyramid and admire its history and architecture. my guide said the “newer” structure in front is covering an “older”structure. no one actually knows why since there are no records. the original 7levels are meant to signify the step to heaven or something like that. the altar in front is apparently for sacrificial stuffs. my guide carries a guide book with pictures that reimagine what it looked like in the past. if you’re not just there for photo ops, should consider getting a certified guide.

It’s a great site ;) however it’s not monumental because it’s not massive or endless to enjoy it because after a white it feels kinda small. There is no temple but a pyramid. I saw visitors in disbelief how they felt it was so big and it feels too small. I agree but still I don’t want to make a big deal of the size of this complex.

What a fantastic tour! Enrique was amazing and so knowledgeable about the area, its history, and anthropology. His English was fantastic, and he even taught us some local Mexican Spanish. We rode the bikes to the site then walked around the temples. You could tell he had the best reputation by how he greeted all the other guides and locals--everyone knew him. After touring the sites, we went to the lava tunnels which were pretty amazing. Apparently, this is one of the "must sees" because when I told another tour guide we had gone there, he was in awe. He hadn't been able to get in and he lived in CDMX all his life. Then we rode around the town and finally he dropped us a restaurant which was include in our tour. Again, can't say enough about this business--highly recommend!

My family and I were able to store our luggage here via the Bounce app. Angela, the owner, was super helpful and friendly, even offering to help us move our luggage to another location after her shop closed, if we needed that. We felt very comfortable leaving our bags with her, and when we came back they were exactly as we left them. Her shop is clean and has bathrooms we could use, and it's within walking distance of the #4 and #5 entrances of the pyramids. Super convenient! We were so glad we found Angela's place, and we would definitely recommend it to others. Really made our visit to the pyramids easier! Afterwards, the Uber ride to the NLU airport took about 45 minutes.

A completely delightful day. My guide, Enrique was very knowledgeable and told me some amazing and incredible things about the magnificent pyramids. The visit to the cave was an unexpectedly spiritual experience that I wont forget.

I would highly recommend them. Communication was easy. This was a relief as you are not a local and you are concerned about logistics. They were able to accommodate picking us and the rest of the party from 2 different locations. The driver was so nice. Once we get there, you get a litle backpack with water and a snack. Our tour guide, Jorge, was amazing. He is a local and has so much knowledge. You can tell the respect he has for his community. The cave tour was great too, make sure your phone is charge in case you need to use your phone light. The artisan family we visit was nice. Make sure you have enough pesos to spend. They accept card as well. You get to taste pulque, tequila, mezcal, some mermelade made our the fruit of the nopal, and a spice salsa, so tasty! You get to have lunch at a restaurant which is covered by your tour fee . It was nice, food was great for the meat eaters. For the vegetarian ones, food was ok. You have to pay for drinks though. Finally, you get dropped off at your hotel. I would do this tour again with this company!

I went for a ride...if you like mountains this is for you, you might encounter a few road bumps so beware if it's your first time. Nice weather (dry) tight road so keep your right.

Bad experience. We came on time. They made us wait. All other ballons were in the sky and the sunrise already passed and our balloon still didn't go up. The whole point of the advertised experience is to go up during the sunrise with all other ballons. So we didn't get to experience that. From my understanding there was a problem with the balloon which is why it was late. Regardless, it completely ruined our experience.

The best..... Absolutely sensational we booked through Viator and the process was seamless, we arrived safely on time and checked in.. offered coffee and snacks. Carlos our guide greeted us and gave us the run down, he was AWESOME and very knowledgeable about the balloon and process. Expensive for not too many animals and inside on the gift shop was expensive too, and you need to pay parking. They didn't let you pass food or drinks because they sale everything inside and expensive...

We had an awesome time at Reino Animal. Great place to spend the day outdoors with your children enjoying the animal shows, milking the cows, feeding the baby animals, going on a safari ride to see giraffes, zebras, yamas, even lions and jaguar. It was great! Only down side was the quality of the food sold inside. It was very bad!

Discount buying tickets online. Took us four hours to see every stop and show. The food was amazing with many options available. Animals are in top conditions and common areas are perfectly cleaned and sanitized.

It’s a small unkept ruin with a long hike uphill…the perk was the view other than that not worth it.

A great place to contemplate the city from above, celebrating the spirit of the New Fire. It may need more care from local authorities, despite the fact, the Aztec building remains.

Archeological finds at the Cerro de la Estrella archeological site relate to the Teotihuacan, Toltec, Chichimeca and Culhua-Mexica cultures and range from 1500 BCE to 1521. Excavations have found the Temple of the New Fire, the Sanctuary, the Villa Estrellas, 144 caves, the remains of walls and evidence of terracing. The most important of these is the former plaza and temple of the New Fire Ceremony, which is on the top of the hill. This archeological site can be visited through a guided tour. However, early archeological remains can be found in many parts of the park, including those which have since been covered over by urban sprawl. Ceramic and stone sculpture materials were discovered in the west side of Huizachtecatl that apparently was made within the 100 to 500 years CE; these resemble other similar pieces found in Zacatenco, north of Mexico City. The constructions here were built between the year 100 and 650 AD and are located in the north side, the remains consist of foundations and walls of palaces that show Teotihuacan influence. Another area was housing zone at the middle of the hill, built during the late Classic period 600 to 900 CE. In 2003, specialists from the Instituto Nacional de Antropologia e Historia INAH worked to document petroglyphs found in various areas of the park, registering 210 in eleven groups, but they believe there are still more. Some of the petroglyphs are aligned with certain annual solar events. The most recent find was in 2006, when a pyramid base was discovered in what is called Calvary at the top of the mountain. This base dates to the Teotihuacan period, about 1300 years ago. INAH has decided not to excavate the base. The last New Fire ceremony took place in 1507. Today, the hill remains important culturally, as the scene of Iztapalapa’s annual Passion Play.

Xochimilco, located just 30-40 minutes outside of Mexico City, offers a truly authentic Mexican experience that is both vibrant and unforgettable. Known for its colorful trajineras (boats), Xochimilco is the perfect place to immerse yourself in Mexican culture. Once you arrive, you can rent a boat to cruise through the picturesque canals. The experience can last as long or as short as you like—just let your boat operator know. As you float along, you’ll encounter vendors selling delicious Mexican food, from tacos to tamales, and even drinks like micheladas. Live music adds to the festive atmosphere, with mariachis and other musicians serenading you from nearby boats. A few tips: Go to the bathroom before you take a boat. Be sure to bring plenty of cash, as you’ll need it to pay for the boat ride and any food or music you’d like to enjoy. The cost varies depending on the length of your ride and what you purchase, but it’s all very reasonable. Also, Ubers were easy to find both to and from Xochimilco, making it a convenient day trip from the city. Plan for at least an hour but stay as long as you like to soak in the lively energy of this unique destination. Highly recommend!

It is a great nature and cultural experience. I am not sure why people would give negative reviews. We booked a boat for 1 hour for two people and went solo for 600 pesos ($36 USD). We got to experience how some families live a simple life near a canal in Mexico. We experienced serenity of nature. While some groups were blasting music in a natural area, we chose a calm and quiet trip through nature. We got plenty of beautiful pictures of the landscape from the water. I negotiated with the boatman to show us something different and a small doll house. So he offered to go further for an additional 30 minutes for 1000 pesos ($60 USD), making our trip of 1.5 hours. The boatman took us further up the canal into smaller ones, giving us plenty of picture moments. We loved it overall. The boatman was very nice and friendly despite the language barrier as we were communicating using Google translate. The boatman was young, he didn't go to the college. I asked him how much he makes from the 600 pesos per hour boat run? He mentioned that he only receives 100 pesos for his work, while the rest goes to the administration that owns the boats and maintains it. So I gave him a tip for his hard and honest work, which made him happy. We didn't wait for any food boats or anything, as we were more interested in experiencing the nature.

It was a fun-filled hour of relaxing as we floated on our private boat. My family found the different trajinera artisans selling food, drinks, flower's, jewelry, and offering Mariachi quite charming. Especially considering when you place an order they board your boat while in motion to serve you. Despite the rumors this isn't a tourist trap. Yes it does attracts tourists, but locals also come here to host birthday parties, get married and celebrate life in general. The Floating Gardens of Xochimilco give you a insight into what the area looked like in the 1500's, but if you aren't aware of the context this gem might be lost on you. This experience reminds you the entire area used to be a lake. If none of that strikes a cord with you, but you're a Frida Kahlo fan you might be interested just to see the where Frida and Diego got remarried.

Pier Fernando Celada / Embarcadero Fernando Celada is the name with more reviews. Even before you arrive at the floating gardens there will be people knocking on your Uber/taxi window trying to sell you on a tour of Xochimilco. None of them were on the side of the floating gardens, they must not be allowed to cross the street. Just walk to the boat area and ignore everyone else trying to sell to you. We went to the ticket window and were directed to a gentlemen with red hat and red shirt that briefly gave us information, asked how long of a tour we wanted, 1 hour (500 pesos), 2 hours (1000 pesos) etc. He called over one of the boat guys and that gentlemen led us down to the boat and was very nice. We didn’t have to pay anything until we got back. Along the way a boat pulled up besides us that was selling Corona for $40 pesos, delicious chicken and cheese quesadillas for $35 each, and waters for $30. Our “guide” kept pushing both boats along as they cooked the food right in front of us. My only regret was not ordering more food. The boat goes along somewhat slow, but it’s very quiet along the way with just nosies from animals and the occasional backyard stereo system. We did not have pesos after buying food, but we ended up just paying/tipping a little extra in USD for the ride and it was around 750 pesos with food for 3 people and the 1 hour tour. Pros: Food along the way, very peaceful, lots of wildlife. Cons: Very little English spoken here, they just need some sort of official information /ticket booth somewhere near to make things a little more comfortable, the water/some houses along the waterway were a little dirty.

100% a tourist trap. The sign says 2 hours for $1200 pesos. They charged us that much but then took us around for 1hour and sat near the dock for 20 minutes. Then eventually finally docked the boat after stalling. Then had the nerve to ask for a tip

It’s an experience. Fun hour to relax floating listening to music eating and drinking. You can get your own boat for $25 USD per hour. Food is cooked on another boat that comes up and hooks on. $5-10 for enchiladas or tacos.

Very different aspect in touring Mexico City. Yes, some call it a tourist trap attraction but it really isn't. It is a much calming respite from the busy life of Mexico City, be it the Historical Center or Coyoacán crowds. One doesn't need more than one hour and the different boats peddling their souvenir wares or offering Mariachi entertainment are not a nuisance at all. Please bear in mind that before the Conquista by Hernán Cortés, his troops and his Amerindian allies, the old capital of the Aztec Empire Tenochtilan was an island in the middle of a lake crisscrossed by many a water causeway. The Floating Gardens of Xochimilko can give you a very abstract idea what the place looked like prior to 1521.

Great restaurant but would have liked the option to order a meal rather than pay for the Buffet. A wee bit on the pricey side but Great food none the less. Will come back another time to stay the night as tye rooms look comfortable.

The park around the hotel is nice; petting zoo, zip line, paddle boats and such. The restaurant serves a wide variety of foods and drinks that are very enjoyable. The noise from the fair across the street however is overwhelming, it starts at 8 pm (when the kids should be going down) and continues until after 10. The window coverings do not cover the window well with the exterior lights it make it seem like 8 am at 3am in the morning. Also a fan in the room would go along way, windows are small and don’t provide much air flow. Overall it is a good hotel-if the loud noise (music) was removed it would be much better.

Aince my last visit they added a lot of new stuff. The bird house is very nice and the lemur “King Julian” also very exciting. Unfortunately we ran out of time and could not see the museum of Sor Juana, since the guided tour is only every hour on the hour ! The park is very clean and really nice !

If you need to stay in a place in Amecameca, this is your spot. The location is very convenient and very beautiful. If you stay here, you get a package that includes a good amount of the amenities they offer, but you can purchase morefor a fairly reasonable price. There is no AC but as this is up in the mountains, it is pretty fresh so no need to worry about it being hot overall recommend this hotel. You’ll definitely enjoy it. The food was delicious. The staff in the restaurant and throughout the area are very become accommodating and kind.

I came here mainly to pet the capybaras, which they have two. The all access ticket price is quite steep at 650 pesos at the time of this review. But with that you have access to all of the animal attractions, including a young loin on your lap and the lemurs on your shoulder 😂

Beautiful location. Hotel room was warm when we arrived so we requested a fan which was promptly provided. It hailed in the evening and since I had the window open, some rain came inside but no problem… a guy with a mop and bucket appeared without delay and mopped it up. In the morning the sun rose right in the middle of the Iztaccihautl volcano … incredible since the clouds had blocked the view the night before and Popocatépetl was smoking and they both were white with snow. The grounds are well manicured making all activities pleasant. My favorite was the hacienda and volcano museum . A wonderful switch after a hot week in Mexico City.. the breakfast provided was plenty with fruit, sweet bread, coffee, eggs and small French breads .

To clarify, this is not a hotel. This is a very historic place in Mexico. I just wish more information was available in English. It is interesting to see a 400 year old building mixed with a petting zoo and zip lines but it makes it super fun to visit. The kids had a blast. Bathrooms were clean. People were friendly. The only downside is that they don't let you take pictures with some of the animals. The animal show was entertaining. The medical team was good. We had a small allergic reaction to one of the animal fur and the staff was responsive. Who knew one of us was allergic to rabbit fur. The volcano show was okay. Nothing extraordinary. They used strobe lights heavily and there was no warning for those with sensitivities.

If you need to stay in a place in Amecameca, this is your spot. The location is very convenient and very beautiful. If you stay here, you get a package that includes a good amount of the amenities they offer, but you can purchase morefor a fairly reasonable price. There is no AC but as this is up in the mountains, it is pretty fresh so no need to worry about it being hot overall recommend this hotel. You’ll definitely enjoy it. The food was delicious. The staff in the restaurant and throughout the area are very become accommodating and kind.

I came here mainly to pet the capybaras, which they have two. The all access ticket price is quite steep at 650 pesos at the time of this review. But with that you have access to all of the animal attractions, including a young loin on your lap and the lemurs on your shoulder 😂

Beautiful location. Hotel room was warm when we arrived so we requested a fan which was promptly provided. It hailed in the evening and since I had the window open, some rain came inside but no problem… a guy with a mop and bucket appeared without delay and mopped it up. In the morning the sun rose right in the middle of the Iztaccihautl volcano … incredible since the clouds had blocked the view the night before and Popocatépetl was smoking and they both were white with snow. The grounds are well manicured making all activities pleasant. My favorite was the hacienda and volcano museum . A wonderful switch after a hot week in Mexico City.. the breakfast provided was plenty with fruit, sweet bread, coffee, eggs and small French breads .

To clarify, this is not a hotel. This is a very historic place in Mexico. I just wish more information was available in English. It is interesting to see a 400 year old building mixed with a petting zoo and zip lines but it makes it super fun to visit. The kids had a blast. Bathrooms were clean. People were friendly. The only downside is that they don't let you take pictures with some of the animals. The animal show was entertaining. The medical team was good. We had a small allergic reaction to one of the animal fur and the staff was responsive. Who knew one of us was allergic to rabbit fur. The volcano show was okay. Nothing extraordinary. They used strobe lights heavily and there was no warning for those with sensitivities.
