Interesting history. There is a nice little church. Kids can ride a pony. There is a $6 tour you can take of the old house. The kitchen and rooms are moderately interesting. Lots of nice nuts and candy based on nuts. The road in /out is not fully/recently paved near the end.

(Translated by Google) The experience of accessing the parish towers by the Museum of Sacred Art is very good; The guide arrived a little late (about ten minutes after the time they asked us to be there) but his explanation and guide was excellent. I recommend that you have good physical condition to be able to climb since it is a narrow staircase in which The steps vary in size, it takes about 8 minutes to go up without stopping, but once at the top they give you time to rest while they tell a little about the history of Lagos, the views from the towers are something exceptional because nowhere else in Lagos can you access such a high point. They have a two-schedule service during the week to access the tower (at noon and in the afternoon), unless you go with your group of people (more than 10) and they can schedule a particular time.

I love this place. If you want to spend an amazing time with your family come here. The water was perfect temperature. So many pools for adults and children. A lot of picnic areas and sitting areas. They open the slides for only 2 hours so everyone rushes in. The adults don't care if they hurt the kids. Maybe if they open 2 hours for just kids and 2 hours for just adults?
Joanna M — Google review
This place has the potential to be better than what it is. I have cleaned pools and maintained them since I was 10. As somewhat of a professional opinion, this place needs definite improvement in terms of hygiene and general maintenance on the pool. Just because the water is blue does not make it ok for swimming. The pools here need to be checked in terms of ph balance in order to check what chemicals are required. This is the very least I would do to make the pools suitable for swimming. As far as the dress code goes, it seems that anything goes. There should be a specific set of rules as well as having a life guard on duty to monitor said rules.

This has been the best horseback ride we did in Jalisco so far! The hacienda where we started our ride is outstanding and the 7 hours ride between agave and livestock has been breathtaking. Our lunch with the family and the talks about the history of the land and the horse tradition made us feel at home! A lot to enjoy and even more to learn.. what we liked the most! Thank you, Giulia e Fabio

We had a great 5 day trip and can't wait to return. We hadn't been riding for a while so we worked with Juan Alfonso on customizing the perfect trip for us. Juan Alfonso was very attentive and checked in with us daily to make sure the ride was meeting our expectations. We rode for several hours each day and got to visit a variety of haciendas, some more rustic, some more luxurious. Food was delicious and it was a delight meeting the families. The area is perfect for horseback riding; gravel roads and dirt paths through miles and miles of farms. We rode along canals, across fields, through small towns, and into a picturesque canyon. Our guides were fun and interesting. Most days we rode with Lupe who not only led the way, but sang too! One of my favorite aspects of the ride was meeting the hacienda owners and horse trainers. Each one had a wealth of experience to share and insight into each of their disciplines: barrel racing, starting horses, cutting, reining, and of course, charreria. Of course, I have to give 5 stars for the horses too. For the first time in years I was able to gain back some of my old confidence and the sore legs were worth it. My first horse was sweet, but I had to push him a little. I switched to a hotter horse with a quick step and had a blast cruising across the countryside. The final day I had a young one with lots of cow sense. All the horses were in good shape and well cared for. All this to say, I highly recommend traveling to Lagos de Moreno to experience the horses, haciendas, families, and booking a trip with Cabalgatas Las Haciendas. I did this trip with my partner and can't wait to come back with the rest of the family.

(Translated by Google) I highly recommend Cabalgatas Las Haciendas… My daughters and I had the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience as a family… First the tour of the beautiful gardens that Hacienda Sepúlveda offers and then its surroundings… The tour was one hour since my daughters are minors, but it was enough to have fun and we were always accompanied by a guide... which made me feel safer when doing this activity with my little ones. At the end we ate delicious!! At the Hotel Sepulveda restaurant, and we enjoyed walking, taking photos in the gardens, in the corrals with the goats and sitting on the edge of the Lakes… So if you want to do a different family activity, where children and adults can enjoy!! It's the best!! …in addition to the fact that the attention of all the staff is excellent! .

Catholic cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
Grand church dating back centuries with twin spires, a dome & lavish interiors with marble columns.
You have to love this church it has so many loyal people that come here everyday to pray and to ask la Virgen de los Lagos for miracles, and the structure so beautiful 😍
Maria C — Google review
Beautiful place to visit day and night. Lots of venders during the day just be careful they will try to push products on you sometimes, but besides that it was great. Plenty of delicious food and drinks nearby. There are no free bathrooms so keep some coins on you, prices vary but a few 5-10peso coins should be enough. They do give bare minimum toilet paper also so bring some extra with you. At night most of the shops selling items close but the food stands and restaurants stay open. It’s so beautiful at night and families generally are still there hanging out . Honestly it’s a beautiful place that you must experience yourself

I have been here before. If you're Mexican and Catholic and you believe in la Virgen de San Juan de Los Lagos, you know what this church means to us. My mother taught me to believe in la virgen. I had to go and pay my respects to her. It was a beautiful day, and the church wasn't crowded. It made it that much more special. My 10 year old grandson loved the church.

Mundo A

Temporarily Closed
Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Mundo A is an excellent destination to escape the summer heat. The water temperature was not overly cold, contrary to some reviews that stated otherwise. While compared to American water parks it may be slightly cooler, it still provided a refreshing experience. However, there were a few downsides such as certain attractive slides being closed and the wave pool lacking impressive waves.
This place is amazing. We had a great time at minimal cost. There is a store on site for those last minute necessities, as well as a food shack - or you can bring in your own picnic. The prices are all around economical. The staff are super friendly and helpful. From very young child to older adult, you will have a great time. The water slides are awesome!
Javier O — Google review
Great spot to beat the summer heat. Water was not too cold (other reviews I've read said the water was cold -- compared to American water parks, it's the same. Compared to some other hot-springs-fed water parks it is cooler, but it felt very good and refreshing to me). My only complaints would be that several of the coolest looking slides were not open and the wave pool had pretty anemic looking waves. The only food options I saw were packaged foods like chips and candy; they did have beer, pop and water but no fresh hot food that I could see. Other than that, great spot. We went on a Saturday when it was 85F and it was not crowded and easy to get a table in the shade. Cost was 95 pesos per person, and 40 pesos to rent a two-person tobogan for the day which I recommend!
Diana R — Google review
This water park has good location, it does have a few problems number 1 water is very cold so if you're ok with cold water dip in! The women's restrooms were very dirty other than that it has nice installations and parking is ok also, they play good music one pool area as well also you can't take alcoholic beverages in they'll make you leave them at the gate but you can purchase alcohol inside.

Very good option to visit in the city

This is a perfect place for 4-99 year old people to enjoy. We tried everything, the imax, etc... It was nice but needs restoration. Some stuff didnt work at all. The coffey house could use a better selection. I highly recommend taking food with you due to the lack of variety in the coffee shop. The vending machines have more variety than the Coffey house... be sure to take pesos with you the vending machines dont take cards. Theres a good playing area for kids around the age 2-5 years old downstairs.

This place has great potential but it is sadly not well managed. Very few exhibits. Half of them don't work. On the positive side the cafeteria is affordable and the 4D show was fun. They should truly invest in bringing this place back to life with better, working exhibits.

took 5 kids from 6 to 14... all bored. if you have been to other interactive museum to big cities or the U.S. they'll feel the same. exhibits are pretty basic, a lot of the screens were down and a lot of sensors needed calibration. it was more frustrating than exciting. the most interesting thing was a microscope exhibit but is on loan from other museum so soon to be gone. -- almost all of the guides are pretty helpful and knowledgeable in their area, they made this place worth it. You should come in early while all the exhibits are running better and get the guides to help you around and show you how to enjoy this place. the building itself is impressive! a massive construction of cantera really well kept. plenty of free parking too. but to be fair, I think the reason we didn't like it much is because we've been to museums in Guadalajara, Monterey and all over the US, so this one falls pretty far behind them.
Jonathan V — Google review
Great place but going downhill. Needs upgrades. IMAX movie was ok, but the seating area and carpets were all torn up. No new serious investments seen and no one welcomes anyone in the theather to describe the tilm or safety procedures as they used to. BAD DEAL. The front of the building has a display outdoor plane that now falls apart in pieces due to neglect and the butterfly center is no more than a sad little 20 x 20 shack. Where is the museum curator or maintenance person??? IMPROVEMENTS are needed.

Estadio Victoria Aguascalientes, with a seating capacity of over 20,000, is primarily used for soccer games and serves as the home stadium of Club Necaxa. Named after a prominent beer brand, it offers an excellent venue to watch soccer matches. The stadium boasts good infrastructure and features properly labeled food vendors both inside and outside the premises. While the seats are small and close together, they create an intimate atmosphere that adds to the passion of the spectators.
Good medium size stadium Home of Necaxa soccer club. You have to get a prepaid card to purchase from vendors at good inexpensive prices

Ome of the best places to just have a chill moment and be in touch with the culture of AGS. Every Sunday you can find stands of different people selling fruits, food, and a variety of products. Probably the most photographeable spot in town. It has gorgeous buildings from an old train station complex built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This complex includes museum, park areas, fountains, fast food, real ancient trains, etc. But the place lacks of activities all around the place that engage the visitors or heritage inside its historical buildings. The Palacio de Gobierno del Estado de Aguascalientes is a historical building with a striking red colonial facade and 110 arches, originally constructed in 1665. It houses five stunning murals that showcase Mexican art. The plaza surrounding the palace, Plaza de la Patria, serves as a focal point and is surrounded by significant buildings like City Hall. (Translated by Google) The history of the Aguascalientes government palace is fascinating, here he recovered the information from the INAH Media Library: 👇🏼 The work began to be built in 1665 when Bernarda Salado, original owner of the land, made an exchange of land with the parish priest Pedro Rincón de Ortega, who had the purpose of building a home for the heirs of the mayorazgo. The construction was completed in the 18th century by José Rincón Gallardo, grandnephew of the parish priest, who was the first person to own the mansion that belonged to the Rincón Gallardo family until the third half of the 19th century, when José María Rincón Gallardo sold it to him. The property went to a niece and later passed into the hands of Pedro Oviedo. The building functioned as the headquarters of the Mesón de la Unión in 1842 until after thirteen years when the heirs of Oviedo sold the building to the Aguascalientes City Council, who, in turn, sold it to the State Government in 1856. The building has suffered a series of changes over time and the needs of the rulers in turn. Jesús María Chávez (governor from 1944 to 1950) began an expansion of the building that later Luis Ortega Douglas (governor from 1956 to 1962) continued with the work begun. The arrangements ended during the governorship of Enrique Olivares Santana (governor from 1962 to 1968).

Castles
Nestled in the heart of Aguascalientes, Mexico, Castillo Ortega-Douglas is a hidden gem that showcases architectural eclecticism and rich history. Unlike typical colonial structures in the area, this majestic castle exudes a unique aura steeped in local legends. While currently undergoing renovations to become a boutique hotel with a shopping center around it, the castle still captivates visitors with its fairy tale-like story of being built by a man for his beloved wife.
I grew up in a home not too far away from this castle and always dreamed of knights and dragons and all the amazing things and beings that could possibly exist in there. To this day, its mere existence still gets my inner child excited. The true story is still of fairy tale quality and quite noble: a man in love who built a castle for his wife. Note: You cannot go inside. It’s being remodeled to be a boutique hotel with a shopping center around it. Coming soon I was told.

Beautiful building, old and has history in itself. There is a charge of about $100 pesos which is a lot for how little art there is. There are about 4 different rooms devoting the history within Aguascalientes which is very beautiful. They have a giant dinosaur skeleton which is super cool! There are also other offices within the museum which is odd. There is no flash photography (standard museum rules). I would recommend this museum.

Horrible service. I’m not sure when they started with a program that has septuagenarian neighbors as security guards but they do now and they turn your visit into an unpleasant trip. They kept following me and making hand gestures, as warning gestures whenever I went to different areas of the building. I mean, come on, I had my camera and was just there to take photos, how was I a treat? I got so fed up that I cut my visit short. I’ve been to the most important museums in the country and has never been treated in such a rude way. In addition to that, almost all of the artifacts are replicas. I don’t like talking bad about my own state and it’s services, but that was horrible.

The National Museum of Death, located in Aguascalientes, offers a distinctive perspective on the concept of death. It presents various representations and images related to Mexican traditions and beliefs about death. The museum showcases a diverse collection inherited from Mexican painter Octavio Bajonero Gil, featuring traditional and contemporary manifestations of death such as papel picado and sugar skulls.
The best musuem of this kind, about death, skulls, corpses, graves, momias, ghosts, vampires, killers, tortures. They have bones and skulls, so much art displays, pictures, sculptures, ceramic, masks, figurines real size and miniature, interactive. I didn’t expect that I could spend 2 hours wandering there. Besides it’s a very Antigua building. It's a gem, must visit.

Death becomes us. The National Museum of Death located in downtown Aguascalientes is a must visit. First of all, its free. Secondly, the collections are amazing. Sugar skulls, to film, to print to MesoAmerica artifacts to paintings and drawings. There was even a special event today that we got to partake in. The gift shop was closed but overall a great way to beat the heat and see how Mexico embraces death.
Charles F — Google review
This museum is like Dr. Who's TARDIS, much bigger inside than it looks on the outside. There are many sections with tons of fascinating artifacts and artwork. Just when you think you've seen everything, you find more galleries. My favorite was the pre-Colombian room, wish they had more of those ancient artifacts actually.
Casey — Google review
The first experience is to walk (carefully) down a dim staircase to a sort of catacomb, which sets a tone for the entire museum, and where one gets a sense of the archeological finds in Mexico. The above-ground galleries feature various art media and cultural artifacts related to death, the devil, angels, and the afterlife. The art evokes multiple adjectives: striking, provocative, humorous, troubling. The totality can be overwhelming; I do wish there were benches in the galleries to allow a visitor some time to sit and reflect a few moments or just to clear one's mental palate for the next room.
Sissima S — Google review
A necessary visit to understand the relationship of Mexicans with Death. Numerous objects collected from different time. Some panels explaining what were/are the beliefs about Death. Some analysis of the treatment of Deaths in newspapers. You will see many skulls and many representations of the Death. It did relax my view on the matter.

This green space features winding pathways, charming benches, and a picturesque gazebo near the Temple of San Marcos. Visitors can explore diverse plant species, beautiful flowers, and intriguing trees while enjoying the garden's tranquil ambiance. The park also hosts public events around its central fountain and provides an ideal setting for leisurely strolls or quiet contemplation.
Beautiful large gardens, very tranquil. Church outside, plaza del todos. Restaurants, cafes and shops across the road. Perfect spot to spend a few quiet hours.

Very beautiful plant life, a lot of birds and even a squirrel or two, got to visit during Feria de San Marcos, so it was packed, but it was a very enriching experience.
Gabriel G — Google review
Good sized enclosed park, full of tall green, beautiful, luscious trees and plants of all kinds. Very unique place to listen to birds, see squirrels waking around, listen to relaxing music or reading. I've seen people jog around the perimeter. You definitely have to visit at least once in your life, it's worth the journey. All around here are fancy restaurants and fast food options with some of the best desserts too! While you're here, stop at the church right in front, it's also gorgeous😊

Nice well kept park. Clean, beautiful, not big but nice.

This is a very nice garden near the center of Aguascalientes, MX. Full of trees and singing birds. At night it is beautifully lit and many activities take place. A peaceful break from the hubbub of the city.

Altaria Mall

Mentioned on
1 list
Shopping mall
Shopping
Altaria Mall is a capacious and upscale enclosed shopping center that houses multiple international retailers, a cinema, and a food court. The atmosphere of the mall is welcoming and the staff is helpful and friendly. Additionally, it offers diverse services such as a hair salon, optometrist office, and an excellent coffee shop named "light house." One can pay with credit cards at all stores which makes shopping experience more convenient especially for foreign travelers who may not have enough local currency on hand.
It's a gorgeous mall and you have to pay for parking. A lot of high end stores and a movie theater to enjoy.
Arturo R — Google review
Altara Zacatecas is a delightful shopping destination that offers a pleasant blend of retail therapy and leisure. With its ample parking, the mall provides easy access for visitors. The variety of stores caters to a wide range of tastes and preferences, ensuring there's something for everyone.

The environment of this shopping center is welcoming and the vendors I had spoken to were friendly and helpful. This place also has a great variety of food and service offerings, inside you can find a hair salon, optometrist, and a nice coffee shop "light house", which I recommend. Also, for the foreign travelers, all the shops I stopped at accepted credit card and this made my shipping experience all the more simple since I didn't have very much Mexican currency on hand.

Nice place to get some nice brands or go eat some Wendys, or chinese food, or watch a move at the theater

Great place to visit, great stores and prices have gone down from previous years with great stores like Miniso, H&M and Sears. Good ambient with good AC. The food court has decent variation, unfortunate their Burger King has deteriorated quite badly. Loving the addition of Best Buy as well.

Manglar Parque Acuático

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Park
Very nice water park. Not very big, but had a great kids area for kids under ten with slides and shallower water, and two other pools for everyone else. The water was very warm, there was plenty of shade and seating, even on a Saturday. The park has big clean bathrooms with showers. You can bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Park is cash only for entrance FYI. Not 100% sure if the bars take cards but be on the safe side and bring cash. Entrance was 80 pesos per person but kids under a certain height are free (not sure how tall, our tall 4 year old barely qualified to get in free and she is about 42 in tall). A hamburger and fries was 60 pesos, a 16 oz can of beer was 27 pesos. Great deal and a fun afternoon!!

This place is small but awesome. They have good option on food for sale.I just wish they would keep the slide open all day long instead of opening for a few minutes on and off.

Absolutely loved our visit here. We came only for the Temazcal. 90 minutes for 2 including clorofila (tea for hydration) and coffee body scrub was about $50usd. We had a relaxing experience and our skin felt baby smooth for several days following our time here. They have changing rooms and showers which were great. Be sure to bring your own towel and shampoo. Robes can also be rented for a fee. Highly recommend.

I have been coming here for almost 15 years and have had a fantastic experience but this last one was horrendous. Normally the service is above average and very attentive but this last time it took nearly 35 minutes to get a drink and they failed to return with a second order that we placed. I tried to look for waiters/waitresses and they literally ignored me and acted like they didn’t hear me. I will always give a place a second chance and I will update my experience on my next trip here.
Guillermo V — Google review
Nice and very quiet place, recommended to forget about everything and relax

Enjoyed the Temazcales with my family of five. We got to experience an unforgettable memory together. I would definitely come back. The massages were amazing 10/10 highly recommend. Also look more into the services they offer. It is kid friendly. But if you're looking for that romantic feeling then I'd suggest to go alone.

We spent a whole weekend here and we loved it ! It is on the pricey side but worth it. Our favorite part no doubt was the pool and the pool bar.

Temazcales: you will sweat from every orifice in your body, and it feels amazing. It does get intense, but its relaxing. After 1.5 hours of sweating, went for an hour massage. Ofelia was my masseuse and she was amazing. Explained I had a bad shoulder and she left that alone. She allowed me to enjoy the massage, very little interaction which allowed me to completely relax and fall asleep. Truly relaxing! What they do need is additional help in the office upon checkout because it was busy and there wasn't sufficient help. The atmosphere is relaxing, the massages are great, and the staff is nice. Ojalá y pueda regresar para poder disfrutar de los temazcales, gracias!

Very nice place to go with your couple, i liked what they did on the poolside with the jacuzzis and the little waterfalls on the side, the only thing was a bit under my expectations was the food. Besides that the spa is also a very nice addition to your vacation

The most serene place I have been to! Their massages leave you feeling like a new person! They provide you with a dry fruit tea that smells and tastes delicious! There is rooms to stay for a romantic getaway as well!!!
