Parroquia Santiago Apostol is a stunning baroque church located in the central plaza, featuring a single nave structure built with reddish-brown volcanic stone sourced from a nearby volcano. The 17th-century building boasts elegant stained-glass windows and houses the remains of Santo Toribio Romo Gonzalez, the patron saint of immigrants. The church exudes character with its imperfections adding to its charm.
There is a sweet scent in the air. It was Friday night and there was a mass taking place. There was a woman who was leading the worship. It appeared to me that most everyone present was a local. The building itself is beautiful , it does have much character and some of the imperfections give it much of its patina. The remains of Santo Toribio Romo Gonzalez the patron saint of immigrants are kept there. Outside the church are vendors and lovers and families. Food is delicious.
Victor L — Google review
This is in the downtown of Tequila Jalisco... There are two prominent catholic churches next to each other. The downtown is dominated by the small stall selling survivors, local food and toys...
Ravi — Google review
Beautiful church with many street markets surrounding selling souvenirs and lots of tequila, morning is very quiet and peaceful until the tours start and the afternoon gets busy and over crowded.
Sara M — Google review
Beautiful church, got to visit last year. Santo Toribio remains are there. If you have a chance to visit this magical town please do,highly recommend it. Lots of things happening outside of the church. Familia gathering, vendors and great food just overall a great and peaceful atmosphere.

The history behind the construction of the church is very intriguing and the architecture is beautifully done specially knowing how back then they didn't have the type of technology we have now.

La Cata is a relatively new establishment that caters to both seasoned Tequila enthusiasts and those looking to delve into the world of Mexican spirits. The tasting room offers an extensive selection of high-quality Tequilas, and the knowledgeable and friendly staff are more than willing to provide guidance and recommendations. Visitors have praised the clean and charming venue, generous tastings, and exceptional service. Many have left with bottles of Tequila, appreciating the convenience of having their purchases wrapped and delivered to their hotel.
We had a great experience here. Such a wide range of rare and high quality tequilas. Not only did the staff offer great recommendations but they also provided extensive knowledge on the tequilas, how they're made and the region itself. They're also a really fun bunch!
Tim H — Google review
Wow! What a great selection of tequilas! The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Be sure to swing by this hidden gem when you're in Tequila.

If you enjoy Tequila, or mezcal, and you find yourself in the town of Tequila... This is a MUST. Extremely knowledgeable staff, great bites, and an epic selection of spirits.
Brandon C — Google review
Our experience at La Cata was amazing. My only regret is find them on our last night in Tequila. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We had Isis help us with our tequila tastings. She’s super knowledgeable and really guided us to the best of the best. The venue is clean and charming. The tastings generous. Highly recommend that you head upstairs and enjoy a tequila tasting with La Cata. We ended up buying 5 bottles to take home and they wrapped and delivered them to our hotel- very service oriented.
Magnolia D — Google review
Amazing tequila selection. Service was great. Will return for sure.
Dave K — Google review
Definitely the best place we visited in Tequila. This is a great place for the spirits aficionado. It was exactly what we were looking for when visiting Tequila. We visited very beautiful and fun places, but they offered nothing more than what we can find at our local liquor store. At La Cata the service was outstanding and the tequilas we tasted were unique and delicious. We are definitely going back for more.

Fábrica La Rojeña

Amusement center
Fábrica La Rojeña, located in the town of Tequila just 40 miles northwest of Guadalajara, is Latin America's oldest distillery dating back to 1798. It is owned by Jose Cuervo, Mexico's largest tequila maker. The distillery offers guided tours that provide insight into the process of making tequila. Visitors can witness the operations and learn about the production firsthand.
Fábrica La Rojeña in Tequila is an absolute must-visit if you're exploring the town! This is the birthplace of José Cuervo, and the tour is both informative and fun. The guide was fantastic, walking us through every step of the tequila-making process with clarity (thankfully, they had mics and speakers to make it easy to follow even in the louder areas). The highlight for me was the tasting at the end—splurging on the tasting package is totally worth it. I had no idea tequila could have so much depth and flavor! The ambiance is lively and authentic, and the whole experience feels like a deep dive into Mexican culture. There’s no pressure to buy, but the exclusive tequilas at factory prices are tempting. Whether you’re a tequila fan or just curious, this is one of those tours you shouldn’t skip. Just show up, and they’ll take care of the rest. Cheers to an unforgettable experience!
Zeno C — Google review
A truly beautiful tequila distillery nestled in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Tequila. The tour we joined was incredibly informative, offering a clear understanding of the tequila distilling process, and we got to taste a variety of tequilas, which was a fantastic highlight.
Seth M — Google review
We spent 4 hours at the Jose Cuervo distillery learning all about the distilling process, tasting different tequilas, learning how to drink tequila, blending our own tequila and, finally, lunch. Alfredo, our guide, also took us through Jose Cuervo's and tequila's history as well as the controls around the whole agave and tequila production process. A really good tour.
Mathew K — Google review
Brilliant! 100% don't miss!! So many sites on the internet say this place is only open certain days. If the review you read is more than 5 minutes old l, forget it. This town is evolving and distilleries like this are pretty much open everyday. Just show up and ask for a tour. I have been to Mexico about 20 times and my favorite thing is to visit small unique towns. Tequila is an incredible place if you want authentic Mexican culture, food, kind people, and good vibes. But this town has one extra thing, tequila!!! La Rojeña is where the José Cuervo magic happens. The tour is completely informative, explaining the tequila making process in detail, and at the end (if you pay the extra pesos for the tasting package, a MUST in my opinion) you get a view into tequila flavors and nuance that I never knew existed! Trust me, stop reading this review and just go there! The tasting at the end is amazing! It was absolutely brilliant! Our guide (sorry, can't remember her name) was perfect. At each stop, though the factory is loud, she had a mic connected to Bose speakers so you could hear every word (I did the English speaking tour). At the end you can buy special made tequilas at factory prices. Absolutely no pressure to buy, but a good deal all the same! I am fairly cynical when it comes to touristy things, this is a 100% don't miss!!!

Fun and informative tours! We did the classic plus the extra tasting. Our guide spoke great English, was incredibly knowledgeable, and fun to spend an hour with. You get to see quite a bit of the factory and drink 3 strong shots before even starting the tasting so be prepared to consume a good amount of tequila. Would recommend to a friend.
Kent S — Google review
If you enjoy drinking low-quality, industrial tequila loaded with artificial additives, then this is the place for you! Otherwise, I strongly recommend visiting La Fortaleza, Cascahuín, or Casa Atanasio, just a few of the family-owned distilleries that still honor the true tradition of tequila making.
Diego H — Google review
From the video at the beginning of the tour to the tasting at the end this experience was well worth the 400+ pesos we spent. Our guide was amazing! The tequila was palate changing. Would go again in a heart beat.
Jennifer R — Google review
We were drawn in by the huge bird sculpture in the courtyard, but stayed for the excellent tour and tasting. Don't miss the Tradicional Añejo ... They only sell it here!

Casa Sauza, also known as Quinta Sauza, is one of the oldest tequila houses located in the tequila valley in Jalisco. They offer three different versions of their large-scale tour, each including a mix-your-own Cantarito. The higher tiers allow visitors to plant their own agave and take home a souvenir bottle. Additionally, they have more than 20 brands in their portfolio that are exported to over 73 countries worldwide.
Went to Sauza distillery for my birthday. Absolutely amazing experience... After the tour, we were led back to Casa Sauza for some drinks. I'll never forget it. Thank you!
Jason S — Google review
We had a tequila tour in English and there was only another couple with us so it was quite a private tour. We visited the guava field and watched how the plants get harvested. We visited the distillery and had some tequila shots. It was a good tour but for my taste the tour guide could have explained a little bit more or could have taken more care about us. During the drive to the field and back she didn’t talk to us at all and didn’t try to entertain us or give us some information about tequila. That’s why I only give 4 stars.
Sarah — Google review
Beautiful old hacienda close to centre of the town of Tequila. Good off street parking across the road . Nice quiet gardens with the sound of Mexican music pumping into the serenity !
Nim J — Google review
We discovered Casa Sauza by accident, and it was a fantastic experience. The grounds and garden are immaculate, and the ambiance is peaceful and serene. We felt and were treated like royalty by the staff, and the food and drinks were amazing. We started with house made salsa and chips, and I ordered a Sauza margarita rimmed with Tajin. Next, we ordered a tuna tartare dish and a wrapped tuna dish that touched every sensory signal on our taste buds. Lord willing, I will be back very soon. The next time, I will plan on spending two full days in this Pueblo Magico. I feel like we just touched the surface of this town, and there are many memories left to be made!
Kenny T — Google review
I was in Tequila, so I had to check this place out! My significant other and I walked here in anticipation for some tequila history! We walked past the entrance and the view made me instantly feel as if I was in a garden. It was quiet and calm. After that area, we ended up at Los Recuerdos De Sauza. We purchased the Perseverancia tour. The tour guide walked us to La Constancia for the first part of the tour. Once we arrived, we had to put on a helmet to enter the building. That was interesting. It was basically a large barrel room. We were told about the process and then given a sample of Sauza Blue Agave Hacienda Tequila Gold. I thought it was smooth and easy to handle. After we left, we headed not too far to “La Perseverancia”. This was where a lot of moving parts took place. It was interesting to absorb what went on here. We were given a sample of Sauza Blue Agave Hacienda Tequila Silver. This one brought some heat! It was strong, but casual and tasty. Our last thing to do was to make our own Cantarito. This was an exciting experience, especially since I’ve only had one Cantarito ever prior to this experience. The process was fun! The drink ended up being pretty good. I got to keep the cup, so that practically worked out as a souvenir for me! The tour guide was amazing and friendly! She explained everything thoroughly during the tour. Overall, this place was worth the stop for me. I enjoyed how things seemed to be spread out widely and that we had to walk a lot. I would love to come back here someday. Date of visit: 10/01/2024
Chaddy A — Google review
We had the pleasure of going on their English tour. A lovely woman who taught us a bunch of the things about the making of tequila. I recommend this place! Make sure to grab a bottle or two after the tour, their tequila is great.
Anna — Google review
We had our lunch and I must say it is a beautiful place. You could take a stroll in their beautiful garden while your food comes. We did not do their tour but the experience in the restaurant was good . Service was slightly slow given that we had a time crunch for our tour.
Anusha K — Google review
Not only one of the most beautiful places to eat in Tequila but maybe all of Mexico. A hidden gem of a hacienda style restaurant with amazing service, food and ambiance. I highly recommended you visit here when in or near Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico.

So much history in tequila this is just a small piece. We checked this place out on our tour little did I know it would turn into a ghost tour w Doña Felícita who still washed her clothes to this day 🧐 I took a pic of the phone from our tour guide.

Amazing place!! Loved the town and loved the tequila!!!
Quentin D — Google review
We went there two years ago. It was awesome. We spent a couple thousand dollars and several gallons of tequila. Good experience.. they gave us several tequilas to taste from which was good to make good choices of the Anejo and silver tequila we bought. We went back a few months ago and now it’s a total tourist trap. We did not want to go in the front door as we have already did the tour they made us walk all the way around the block which was about .5 miles. So we tried to sit down they told us we could not sit there because there was groups coming. I said I just want to buy tequila and have a good experience again. They told us we need to give them a tip. To taste the tequila and decide what we wanted.. I explained we’ve been here before. Just gonna have a good time in this hot no fans no air circulation environment. The chicken a$$ waiter solicited a tip, and then he asked where we were from. I told him we were from Matamoros Mexico.. he scolded us for not tipping him. Before we left, we still bought several hundred dollars of tequila. We will never go back to this tourist trap that it has become. …. what a disappointment. They heard you and like sheep now……

An intriguing and mysterious site showing the predominant Olmec style of prehispánica structures at a 2.5 hr drive from Puerto Vallarta in the state of Nayarit take note of different time zone when traveling here with an admission cost of approximately 5 dlls And around 60 dlls total in tolls is a must-see for anyone interested in History or Anthropology. The predominant Ecatl Quetzalcóatl diametric structure contains intriguing and meticulous cross-like ensembles of unknown use. Some of these are in areas that cannot be for any current explainable reason, but aesthetics, although, seem to have had a function since they are pipe-like and placed underneath the base of the structure. The temple of columns shows 3 small stairways that differ in style, most likely used in ceremonies by members of different ranks or priesthoods. Some of the structure's interior bases contain plentiful remains of shattered pottery and obsidian chips, most likely offerings during the ceremony.
Galo L — Google review
Attended a Day of the Dead event which was very fun and interesting. Unfortunately the entire archeological zone was not open due to the special event, but I look forward to returning to experience the entire site.
Jeff H — Google review
Neat site. the structures are low and can climb up to all of them, except Templo Redondo, which is the highlight of the site.
Connie W — Google review
A hidden treasure. Entrance not marked, you needed to know where to go. Entire site clean and well maintained. A knowledgeable guide who could explain the structures and share Aztec history would be welcome. Come prepared with comfortable shoes and sun hat or umbrella. It will be amazing to see this place in ten years if there is appropriate funding. Right now, anyone can walk in and wander and pick up shards or obsidian artifacts. There were two women who were maintaining the site. Unfortunately, no security.

I wish there could be more detail for each ruin. Not enough detail of the history of the place. For what is available, it's very clean and well maintained.

The hotel is lovely. We went with the larger, king room. Glad we did. It's beautiful. Bed comfy with plenty of pillows. Appreciate the coffee maker and coffee. The walk to the pueblo is a bit of a trek...but a nice one. Had to ask for hair drier and hand towel. At this price point, they should be in room. Staff is friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our week here!

Beautiful tranquil place with very attentive staff. Bed was very comfortable, room was very clean with good water pressure. Make sure to confirm the hot water has been turned on in the rooms. Jacuzzi was a nice temperature. The breakfast was excellent. Overall on the pricey side but worth it if you’re looking for a luxury getaway.

The building is amazing and the guy receiving us was awesome and helped us not hate our stay. We went for Valentine’s Day and the place run out of electricity during the night, the worker was gone to turn on the electric plant. The fireplace in the room has the pilot off and we had to sleep cold. We didn’t get the WiFi password so we didn’t have any service to let him know the power was gone. The next morning the restaurant was closed for the day that I wish I would know since the website promotes this nice restaurant. Also the 14th we thought about going to el general steak house and they closed that day as well. We felt it was a waste of money since we could not enjoy the hotel amenities and the restaurants were closed.

Stunning surroundings but WOW the service and welcomness of the manager ruined everything!!! Worst part is that he keeps charging my CC! First a double charge the day of checkout that I had my bank reverse right away when it came to my attention. Now a month later a new charge for a stay a slightly different amount so not a mistake. He claims he can't find the charge even though it's clearly posted on my bank statement that I sent to him as prof. San Sebastian is an amazing place and definitely worth visiting ... and there are many wonderful hotels ...so pick another and save yourself This experience.

(Translated by Google) Terrible service. Since there were only two of us, the receptionist wanted to force us to accept being given the tables that were in the corner. They had many free tables and when we asked them, they told us that some were reserved and the others were exclusive for four and six people, however we saw a table for 6 people occupied by only two people. We left immediately and went to dinner somewhere else. I don't know if all the restaurants in the chain are equally shocking, but at least in this one, the service is terrible and I'm really not interested in finding out if the others are different.

We called and sent the photos to Rinho's people and they only said that this sometimes happens, to ask Didi for a refund, and that you still don't know if he will refund the payment in cash. but in the end the discomfort of such a situation and bad experience, to never buy there again (Original) Ayer pedimos una orden de alitas por Didi food, era una promoción de 2x1, adicional unas papas gajo, cuando íbamos a comerlas, nos dimos cuenta que venían un pedazo de cuero, un pescuezo, unas Mini alitas, en total lo que si eran alitas, solo 7 piezas, suponiendo que debieron ser 2 ordenes de 8 a 10 piezas cada una.

Mini Zoo with many alligators, a jaguar, and a few other animals. This place has a water spring, cristal clear, very inviting to swim.

We stopped here on our jungle cruise. The setting was beautiful and there was a wide variety of animals, especially lots of crocodiles of various ages. There was a place to swim too. Well worth the 25 peso admission.
Mary C — Google review
Awesome place! They've kept the natural feel around it and you can actually just bump into a crocodile! (Scary, right?) You should totally take the (and your camera) and visit this place! Go for a nice swim in the cold water too!
Victor G — Google review
You go on a board and they take you through a winding river and I saw a couple of crocodiles and some birds and turtles which was really cool then we make a pit stop at a crocodile sanctuary where you can see them up close and it's so cool they have a Swimming area where you can Swim with fish! The second pit stop was a only a swimming area as well and there was a restaurant there but they took forever to give us the food because they forget we even ordered. Recommend taking this trip!

Restaurant El Malecón is located near the Malecon Beach in Puerto Vallarta. The beach is not popular for swimming, but it offers a beautiful sunset spot and is filled with street performers, vendors, and vibrant colors. Visitors can enjoy amazing street food while strolling down the Malecon and watching fireworks from the boardwalk.
If I could put more stars I would. The food here is great I had the shrimp burger, it was really really good I would recommend this place to anyone. The service is good and quick.
Myspam A — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous right off the beach we had fresh food and an absolutely gorgeous view. There was a lady walking on the beach that provided a service of braiding my daughters hair away from the table. I had an absolutely amazing margarita, heavy pour. Completely authentic margarita made from scratch with the exception of the tequila. The pico de gallo was fresh and amazing and then we ordered ceviche which was awesome flavorful, the perfect amount of spices and the seafood was perfect inside of it. My daughter and I ate absolutely all of it. It was nice because my son was able to play under the table with the sand once done eating. It wasn’t super hot although it was in March because of the breeze from the ocean. The service was just absolutely amazing they had a performance there, so it had perfect entertainment, my kids loved it. It probably was our favorite place to eat in Puerto Valarta just an overall great experience.

We got fresh snacks. Chips were crunchy. Guacamole was tasty and freshly made to order. Had a passion fruit margarita sooo delicious. Real passion fruit. Generous serving size of snack and drinks for great price. The view of the ocean was amazing and relaxing. We got luck and were able to see a traditional native performance, nothing scheduled.

This place was a complete rip off!! Do not go there!! We wanted a simple breakfast and ended up with a bill that had lobster added to our bill we never ordered!! They didn’t want to give us a copy of the bill until pushed. We also were approached by someone who seemed connected to the restaurant and tried to sell us on property, etc! Horrible experience!! DO NOT GO HERE!!
Sylvia J — Google review
We were at Restaurant El Malecon the other night. They have a large selection of sauces at the table. And then they bring out chips with more sauces. After that we shared a guacamole. My wife then had the tortilla soup and shrimp tacos, while I had the mummy shrimp. Overall the food was good as was the service. The prices are certainly Malecon and beach side prices. There was a live duet playing music and singing and they were pretty good. But the main reason for eating here is the spectacular view as we watched the sunset over the ocean. In the end that is what you are paying for.
Dave A — Google review
We had delay in some food order, but they didn’t charge us for that and we got this part for free. That’s a real client orientation. On the top of that - the seafood is fantastic and fresh, ocean view and the birds (pelicans?) are fantastic 🤩 Totally recommend this place.

I've loved this place since I was little but the mosquitoes and jejen attack me like crazy, great beach the water is so warm, restaurants food is okay I guess, I'll be returning to this beach as often as I can with my family.
Hey M — Google review
It's a excellent place for swimming and eating good food. The water is warm, the sand gets you under your swimwear but it's fine, it's part of the experience.
Mitzi A — Google review
This place is the best feet in the sand dining experience ever! Pescadao Sarandeado is unlike any fish you've ever had. Select your fish from the box of ice, watch it dressed, seasoned and anointed with God's own basting sauce as it grills over a manzanita fire.....with an iced bucket of Coronitas and all the salsas, salads and tortillas you could ask for... It's heaven. Make a day of your visit so you'll have time to eat twice. The restaurants are all housed in palapa-patio compounds that line the deep sandy beach along the spectacular sheltered bay. Restaurant Ruiz, if I remember correctly, is the third palapa palace as you drive down the short road from the two lane highway above. Drive your car into the beckoning shade of the palapa covered parking stalls, loosen your belts, grab flip-flops and towels and prepare for an adventure of extreme contentment! Families are the predominant social grouping which magnifies the charm of the place as dining merges with beach play and tropical waters. This place made the drive from Malibu to Sayulita, as opposed to flying, worth every mile.

Catholic church
Sights & Landmarks
The Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, located in the heart of Puerto Vallarta, is a beloved city landmark with its Renaissance-style tower topped by a crown. Construction began in 1903 and it has since become an iconic symbol for the locals. The church hosts important religious celebrations and is surrounded by constant activity. A pedestrian street lined with shops leads to the cathedral entrance, where Sunday services are well attended.
How can someone rate the House of God? I attended mass at noon and it was very good! It’s a beautiful church with an adoration chapel.
Luis A — Google review
This church was listed as one of the sights to see in PV. While I'm not a religious person, I don't mind seeing churches for their architectural value. Its located one street above the Tepic Puerto Vallarta, the main road that runs along the ocean, exactly where the Malecon Boardwalk starts at the north end. When you see the amphitheater and arches, turn around and you'll see a small park-like plaza across the street. Walk through it, and the church is at the other end. Its not hard to find as the building is taller than the rest. The red brick & stone church has no real front grounds, as only a sidewalk and a few steps separate it from the busy road, so its not the prettiest upon first glance. The top of the bell tower is uniquely finished with a wrought iron sculpture shaped into a crown that pays homage to an empress of Mexico. The doors were wide open, so I was able to snap a quick pic. There were a few worshipers sitting inside but no service was going on. The pews sit on marble floors, with high ceilings and columns decorated with simple ornate trim. Further in is an even taller rotunda ceiling draped by a purple curtain, with a grand centerpiece & painting. Mass in English is done on Saturdays, with Spanglish mix on Sundays.
Maui T — Google review
A beautiful church dedicated to our Lady of Guadalupe. There’s mass daily 3 times. At 7.30 am 12 noon and 7 pm all in Spanish but easy to follow for those non Spanish speakers. It’s quiet so good to pray and reflect as well
Hiran C — Google review
This church is pretty underwhelming considering how it is made out to be. It’s touristy in the most ordinary way. Church needs a tea good refurbishment. Exterior is good. Seen much better in other places across the world.
Russ G — Google review
Nice outdoor space, lots of food choices to choose from.Friendy service, great view all around.
Eli F — Google review
Mass was good, and there were confessions. There was a special event (I think they were celebrating a meeting from La Pastoral de la Salud) when we were there (the video is from the procession, that’s not what you will find daily!). We liked it, easy access, and good priests.
Ángel G — Google review
Very hot, no A/C, standing room only. One fan for every 500 worshippers whether they need it or not. Remained sweltering inside well after dark. Standing outside was more tolerable. Music was reverent, mass was valid and licit from what I could tell. Priest preached too long. It would be good if the clergy reinforced the need for modest dress. I've seen women show less skin at the beach. Of course, air conditioning would remove one of the incentives for wearing less clothes.

Los Muertos Beach is a bustling and lively spot in Puerto Vallarta, known for its vibrant atmosphere and variety of activities. Easy access from zone romantica. Lots beach restaurants around here. It’s pretty busy. Nice sunset views. It’s low season so we are here enjoying some way quieter beach moments. Keep eyes out for your valuable stuff. Bring a waterproof bag and take your cell phone with you if you want to go chill in the water.
Jo L — Google review
It's a beautiful sandy beach. But the waves were too high and we could not swim. I went there for New years Eve and you can see the best fireworks from there.
Deepak J — Google review
Extremely crowded. The beach is not very wide, maybe 10 meters, and it is surrounded by high-rise apartments and hotels that come up right to the sand. Many restaurants set up tables right on the beach, even more right next to it in the apartment buildings. The sand looks dirty, and is full of umbrellas set up by various businesses, not much room to walk at all. A lot of boat and tour operators hanging around trying to peddle their services. Quality of the water can only be described as "interesting."
Bobby C — Google review
Nice beach, pretty popular, but not overly crowded. Lots of people selling snacks along the beach and near the bathrooms. The waves were bigger/stronger than we expected, and since I'm afraid of swimming in the ocean, I didn't love it, but it wasn't a bad beach. 😅 Some areas are hard to walk on without shoes because of all the rocks. Very coarse sand, almost no seashells.
Leigh-Anne C — Google review
Busy area with lots of families having a great time. Lots of facilities and restaurants on the promenade with a very short walk to restaurants and shops one block from the oceanfront. Fun to walk onto the pier and people watch and see the little boats and water taxis.. Not polluted but there were a lot of leaves near the peer floating on the waves ; the only noticeable (extremely slight) comment. The water is clean and the surf is not too big.

Los Muertos Beach Pier, located in Puerto Vallarta, underwent a major transformation in 2013 and is now a sleek and contemporary structure that has become a prominent landmark. Visitors can enjoy leisurely activities such as strolling along the pier, swimming in the ocean, shopping at nearby shops, or taking a bike ride. The pier also serves as a starting point for day trips to various islands and beaches.
This pier is absolutely stunning, whether you visit during the day or at night. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere at any time. During the day, you can enjoy sweeping views of the water, watch people fishing and in the evening, the pier comes alive—illuminated by vibrant, color-changing lights that add a magical touch to the experience. It’s an ideal location to catch a breathtaking sunset or simply sit back and enjoy the gentle breeze. With plenty of seating available all around the center of the pier, it’s easy to find a comfortable spot to relax, take in the scenery, and enjoy a moment of calm.

Nice pier with peace in the mornings. I prefer the sunrise vibes with a few fisherman and less crowds. Calming views of the ocean and boats. Some jump from the pier into the sea for fun, so possible for those bold enough. The pier lights up at night.

First off there wasn't any charges to visit the pier. Even went with a group out on a boat a week before and we were shuttled from the pier to a larger boat. Stunning view of PV. You can sit on the circular bench and look back at the beach.
Christopher S — Google review
Fun atmosphere here by the pier. Playa muertos makes it easy to enjoy some swimming, relax on the beach, grab a bite to eat, go fishing, or just play in the sand. Love how they light up pier. Really nice watching the sunset over her.
Rob N — Google review
Instead of constructing a traditional all-wooden pier, they've upped the design bar by adding a modern art piece to the old section of Vallarta, which serves both locals and visitors alike. THE PIER: A 328-foot wood, steel & concrete foot bridge gently bends out toward the white steel structure which is reminiscent of a boat's sail. One side of the cylindrical tower is open, while a wire mesh skin twists up the other end. A 360° bench seat is set in the middle. It offers great views of Vallarta's coast. At the end is a lower, wooden pier that serves water taxis and other ocean activities. At night it's lit in hues of sky blue, pink, and purple. OVERALL: A free and cool area to see on your walk along the Malecon!

My review works best for vessel based visitors. That said we have been visiting this area since 2013. There are several palapa restaurants on the Las Islitas road. You can come by boat, car or taxi or collectivo taxi. From San Blas it is only 15 minutes or so. From anchor in the bay, aim for the big green building on the beavh. We like to visit Varo and Alicia at Playa Hermosa restaurant. It's just west of the big green building. A hint is to sit at a table up by the kitchen to avoide the jejenes, a little... Food and drinks are excellent! (Shrimp cevichi, huevos rancheros, platanos con lechera). You are dining in a little piece of paradise!

Really cool little market. Bought delicious fruit from a vendor. Tons of jewelry, clothing, fresh drinks. Very little English spoken but the vendors are all very gracious with tourists if you attempt to use spanish. You're in their country, at least try to speak a bit! There are bathrooms at the start of the market, at 5 pesos per person to use.
Kit H — Google review
I have my favorite stalls but this is a must see for colour, culture and creativity. We never miss a week. Reasonable prices and friendly vendors. Negotiate if you know a little Spanish. Most embarrassing are the aggressive tourists' treatment of locals who, in the oppressive heat, are just trying to earn enough to feed their families. You can find just about everything if you look hard enough. Smile! Learn to say, "No, gracias!" Enjoy the culture. Market day is a social event.

Bring your cooler and your snorkeling gear. Definitely worth checking out and spending a couple hours to relax and enjoy the clear water. The beach is small and sometimes has strong currents on both ends of the beach kids and weak swimmers be cautious and stay in the middle of the beach. Sitting is limited. Great play for beginners to snorkel.
Joel H — Google review
1st thing first: there are no live corals to be seen. Tiny island with a busy tourist traffic. If you want to sit in a shade or need to use a toilet, be prepared to pay a fee for that. Some snorkelers are lucky to see a turtle or some fish. What is more likely is that you get stung by jellyfish. If your immune system handles jellyfish poison well and you bring enough cash, you may enjoy the visit to "coral" island at more than two stars

Amazing place, I was very impressed, this place is unique ✨, water super warm, also guys from the boat are super friendly and informative! They charge you 400 pesos or $20 to take you there. I highly recommend visiting this place because you'll fall inlove with it. You can rent umbrella, chairs, and table for $15 or 300 pesos, they have a restaurant in there. 🐟🌸💗🐠👀

Beautiful tiny beach. The water is very clear. I 100% recommend you bring snacks, lunch, water, sodas, and an umbrella. They rent tables with umbrellas on the beach for $300.00 pesos and next to the beach for $250.00 There's no electricity on this island, so there are no fridges. They sell some snacks, beer, and sodas. Not recommend for people with walking problems.

We took a tour and paid 2100 pesos for 9 people. Our tour guide was Enrique. He was very nice and fun! We were dropped off at the island at about noon and we’re picked up a few hrs later. Place was busy. There is a restaurant but a bit pricey. We had ceviche. Snacks available for purchase. Table and chairs available for rent 300 pesos. The water is clear but very rocky. Waves are pretty strong here too. Not very safe for little ones. Would come back but more prepared with water shoes.

This is a very long and wide sandy and relaxing beach with very few people. If only there were fewer mosquitos. Still worth visiting

Great beach, fantastic waves most days, delicious restaurants. Federico y Lucia is my favorite but they are all great. Stoners Surf Camp is a killer place to go if you want surf lessons or need to rent a board.

Nice beach with a lot of restaurants the beach is not recommended for child's big waves

(Translated by Google) It's a quiet and very pleasant beach. The current and waves are strong, making it only recommended for those who can swim well. The access is a bit long, and if you're not careful, you'll have to walk through a restaurant. There are a lot of mosquitoes. (Original) Es una playa tranquila y muy agradable, la corriente y el oleaje es alto y solo recomendable para gente que sabe nadar bien. El acceso es un poco largo y si no se está atento se tiene cruzar un restaurante. Hay muchos moscos.

Playa Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta

Playa Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta is a stunning three-mile beach located on Banderas Bay, known for being one of the best beaches in Mexico. The beach is lined with exclusive hotels and villas that are part of the resort community. Visitors can take leisurely walks along the shore all the way to the Ameca River, which separates Nayarit State from Jalisco State. The resort offers beautiful grounds with abundant bamboo, making it easily accessible and visually appealing.
Lots of space to spread out. Food and drink deliveries at the loungers. Occasional souvenir seller, but they are not pushy. Just be prepared for lots of sand before the beach.

As a member of 8 years, I was been sold on luxury and the promise of a theme park. I've yet to visit this incomplete theme park. It's still in construction. This resort is nice, and there is plenty of room to find a poolside spot or beach seat. The food is sub-par and way overpriced. It takes forever to get anywhere on this resort, and a taxi is 20 to 30 one way to town. The entertainment is sub-par as well. They host various nights at an area called Sanctuary that are quite boring. The sound system is outdated which also takes from the show. There were singers and dancers and it was cheesy and this one guy couldn't hit a note to save his life. Heard better kaeroke than this. We made reservations at their hibachi style dinner and it was way over priced, the food was so basic, and the cook does the same old jokes you get from a 3 star hibachi anywhere. The thing liked the most was room service. They came by and cleaned daily. Resort staff was nice. It's an older resort so there are many areas that need work. It rained alot and there was sheet rock falling off in some areas. Whatever you do dont do the member tour. It will eat up your whole day. The discounts they offer are not worth it. The wave pool and slide were closed half the time we were there. Also the lazy river was closed half the time as well.

A wonderful resort getaway with top notch amenities. Golf, relaxing, great food, and craft margaritas were part of the daily activities. The staff is warm and welcoming!

At High n Low tide, lots of beach to play on, waves are playful, just enough to boogie board surf and family oriented. Sunsets are truely magical. Just a chill beach.

Beautiful paradise. Nature walks on floating paths and amazing pools. Wonderful restaurants. It’s not an “all you can eat” resort but that’s why I go there. Every restaurant has its charm with fine dining. It is not for the middle class, but it IS for upper middle class and above. Super safe. Every single worker and guest goes through an airport security style check prior to fully entering the resort. They give you complimentary airport transportation so no worries there. It’s not a timeshare, but it is a vacation club. I have gladly invested three times; each time upgrading my rooms. I want to spend 4-6 weeks there during the deep freeze of my winter in the U.S. I love that I don’t have to take care of a house in FL for example. Because this is on the Riviera Maya and not in Cancun, you’re only 25 to 40 minutes from the wonderful ecological parks of the Riviera. You have to check this place out. As a cherry on top, Cirque de Soleil is on the property.
Melody W — Google review
The property is rich in color and plant life. The pools are abundant and the collection of Restaurants, well its double digit. Perscisley 30. I've oboe experienced about 6 of the restaurant's. The food is tasty and priced well.

We “won” this Vidanta getaway at a charity auction — and I now believe the real charity would have been people warning us it might be cursed. From the over two-hour check-in (yes, over two hours), to the constant upselling disguised as “upgrading,” our stay was less “luxury vacation” and more “emotional endurance test with expensive snacks.” After being told our hotel selection was “sub-par” (how dare we want what we paid for), we were “upgraded” to a resort property so far away it may as well have required a connecting flight. The shuttles showed up about as often as solar eclipses, so we got to know the property well — mostly by foot. Guests everywhere looked like they were in various stages of regret, or near death. All we heard were complaints from everyone we met, too -- people mostly upset about the high-pressure sales that met us all at every turn. Even the staff, forced to greet you with their hand over their heart like hostages in a luxury-themed cult, couldn’t hide their despair. The food? Mediocre and mysteriously expensive. The gym? A charming 40-minute walk away — nothing says “wellness” like needing a cardio session just to get to your cardio session. Every “event” felt like a prank. Like the “sound healing” session that took place on a cramped bit of grass next to a busy sidewalk with constant construction noise, which I guess added a certain jackhammer chakra realignment vibe. Despite being located on what feels like several thousand acres, there was a rooster crowing 24/7 and a chorus of barking dogs to remind us that peace and quiet were sold separately. The crowning glory of this fever dream was the timeshare salesman who invited himself to breakfast with us and, upon hearing our polite “no” after hours of listening to him, ripped up his papers and had a full-blown tantrum. Nothing says “relaxation” like an adult man throwing a fit because you didn’t want to buy a lifetime of this misery. In summary: If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to spend a small fortune to feel trapped, manipulated, and serenaded by livestock — Vidanta is your place. Would not recommend. Would not return. Would not even wish upon my worst enemy (unless they enjoy construction noise and emotional manipulation).

Nice place to stay and enjoy the mix of luxury and nature. One fellow said "This is like a Jurassic Park resort". Night Par 3 Golf, nice restaurants. Vidanta should take care of the cleaning of the walking path "outside of the property along the Ameca River" Please instruct the children to use their sandals when going to the sea, the sand is always hot, seeing children cry because their feet burn is not pleasant. Better photos of the resort in other reviews.

This outdoor market operates from November through May and is a hub for local farmers and families offering high-quality natural products. Visitors can explore a variety of stalls featuring organic produce, artisan goods, and even enjoy live music while sampling delicious treats. The market is praised by visitors for its fantastic food options, fresh juices, and whimsical art pieces.
Just a wonderfully Friday only organic and artisan market from 10-2pm in Sayulita

This market is nice but can be a bit boring as same vendors every single week and it’s definetlt geared to the American population living in sayulita. I love the hummuses though and always get a juice for 50 pesos

The empanadas are SO delicious! We also got cheese, eggs, beef jerky and salsa and chips. Great atmosphere, warm vibes and a lovely market. The live music was a treat as well. We loved supporting local vendors and farmers here

Seaside outdoor restaurant and bar open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fresh food and good bartending! Local dog willing to accept any name for a little human food. There was live music invited sing at an engagement party who ended up staying all night. Video is from Amor Boutique Vill balcony, not from within restaurant.

Great farmers market every friday to the right of the bridge if you are leaving sayulita. More original and handcrafted art. Also go hungry, there are many food stands and business giving out samples. We seen coffee, paella, tamales, roasted nuts, granola and much more including fresh fruit and veggie stands. Oh and there is live music too! A great way to see more of the local community and be out and about.

Playa Sayulita is a bustling sandy stretch known for swimming and surfing. The southern part of the beach is popular, with the town's entrance and businesses located there, along with the best waves. Throughout the year, various events take place here, including surf tournaments. December is a busy season due to Christmas and New Year's, while January to May offers warmer weather with fewer crowds.
We had a great time in Sayulita. So many magnificent pictures and memories. The town is covered with beautiful murals and graffiti.

On my first eco tour with Vallarta Adventures, they ended off our jungle tour with a visit to Playa Sayulita, a colorful resort area with wide sandy beaches. Sadly to say, I think enjoyed my second tour better to the more remote area of Playa Clavellinas. This beach seemed made for tourists.
Graham T — Google review
A beautiful beach with great introductory waves for beginner surfing-however the amount of vendors on the beach makes it really hard to relax. You’re constantly bombarded by vendors selling anything and everything and its an all day affair of saying “no gracias” as long as you dare to sit in your chair or lay on your towel for your much deserved vacation.
David R — Google review
Fishing boats on the south end of the beach, chairs and parasols, and places where to eat or get a drink all the way to the north end. The golden sand was unexpectedly beautiful. The various sediments in the sand shifts from regular sand-coloured sand to black. As people walk, the beach retains footsteps for a while, even when the waves come in, because it is so shallow. The surface is sprinkled with golden Mica. It really looks like gold. On our first day, we quickly figured out where the safe swimming zone was (south) and where the ideal surfing zone was. You are safe close to the beach or beyond, but the surf zone can be hard to navigate if you are not a good swimmer or a local kid, who knows when to go with the flow. Just swim where people swim to remain safe and wear bright colours.

Beautiful beach, fun waves, reasonably priced cabanas, fantastic service/drinks/food and access to bathrooms and showers at Barracuda.

Great beach and town, but be aware that you will get charged a fee if you want to use the loungers/umbrellas
Jaime G — Google review
Playa Sayulita, the town’s main beach, is a picturesque stretch of sand that draws surfers, sunbathers, and people-watchers. While the beach itself is stunning, it can become quite crowded, particularly during the midday sun. The surf seems to be a major draw, as board rentals and lessons are conveniently available right on the beach. The town of Sayulita has a very relaxed, artsy feel. Colorful flags drape across cobblestone streets lined with boutique shops, cafes, taco stands, and art galleries. It’s very walkable, with everything within easy reach—restaurants, markets, beaches, and local attractions. Expect a mix of locals, surfers, expats, and tourists all sharing the same small space. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, some parts of Sayulita can feel a bit overrun by tourism. Prices in restaurants and shops can be higher than expected for a small town in Mexico. That said, there are still plenty of affordable street food options and local spots if you’re willing to explore a little further from the main square. Overall, Sayulita is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. We took a bus from Puerto Vallarta, which took about 1 hour and 15 minutes each way. The round-trip fare was approximately 150 pesos per person, making it an affordable and easy day trip.

Busy beach with many seaside restaurants and folks selling souvenirs. We enjoys a snack and drinks and watching surf for about about an hour. We enjoyed it, but that was about our max for saying know to the sellers. Good people watching, lots of activity. If you're looking for a relaxing beach, this isn't the one but it's lots of fun!

Playa De Los Muertos, also known as the Beach of the Dead, is located just south of Sayulita's main beach. The name comes from the cemetery that lies behind it, adorned with colorful graves decorated with surfboards. Despite its eerie name, it is a popular spot for Mexican families and offers a safer swimming experience compared to other beaches in the area.
Really unusual beach the dirt road goes through a graveyard to get there And has a makeshift bar right before the beach Once on the beach, it’s really nice great places take a dip in the ocean

Quant little beach that Google maps directed us to perfectly. We had to park our golf cart at the bottom of the hill and walk up. They have a small cabana type bar with bottom shelf liquor at the entrance of the beach. The beach is clean with random vendors selling trinkets. You can walk out pretty far from the shore. Cool experience.

Great little beach cove. Umbrellas and chairs offered at a reasonable cost. Easy surf great for swimming and snorkeling. Walk past a colorful cemetery to get there.

Beautiful walk to this gorgeous beach! We had such an amazing day here ☀️🕶️⛱️ Had some amazing shrimp on the beach from a vendor and they wore to DIE FOR. I wish I could vacation on this beach every year 🩵
Mason S — Google review
Nice beach to come to, less people to relax and enjoy with family and friends. You can rent the chairs or bring your own. You can rent a golf cart to get here but you can also walk from the hotel area, it's about 12 minute walk. You will have to pass the cemetery to get here, you'll know it's the right way. You can eat, drink and relax at this place. If you're in the area, make this one of your stops.
Miguel A — Google review
I feel silly for never having explored this little beach until a recent visit. Exceptionally clean and not crowded, with privacy to be found as well. Expensive but necessary beach bar at the entrance. Cute walk there too. Parking for 50 cents if you drive.
Max S — Google review
Great alternative to the busy main beach in Sayulita. It’s a beautiful area with a sandy beach with a dedicated swim area that is surrounded by rock outcroppings.Short golf cart ride from town or a 15-20 minute walk, follow the bay around to the beach. It’s 100 pesos to park a golf cart or car, you have to pay to use the port o potty, there is also an area before the beach where you can buy beverages and snacks. The cemetery is very unique and colorful.
Shaggy 5 — Google review
Small, lovely and quiet beach. There is a lifeguard and umbrella rentals available. It was not crowded and free of beach vendors. If walking, the dirt road goes through a small cemetery thus, the explanation of the beach name.

If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure, Vista Paraíso Tours and Activities at Rancho La Montalbena is the perfect destination. Families will find something for everyone here; whether you’re a novice or an experienced rider, the friendly guides ensure that each tour is tailored to your skill level while providing insights into the beautiful surroundings.
My boyfriend and I visited Vista Paraíso Tours and Activities today for a last-minute ziplining adventure, and it turned out to be the perfect choice! We were looking for something fun to do, and this experience exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, the staff was incredible. Brian, Roy, and Roberto were by our side the entire time, making sure we felt safe, comfortable, and most importantly—had a blast! Brian also captured stunning photos and videos of our adventure at an unbeatable price, which we’re so grateful for. We’re so thankful for our experience here and would highly recommend Vista Paraíso to anyone looking for a fun, safe, and memorable adventure!

My partner and I had a wonderful time at Vista Paraiso today! I’m an experienced rider, but my partner had never been on a horse before. Our guide, Ricardo, was amazing. Super friendly and really thoughtful about tailoring the ride to suit both of us. He made sure we each had a great time and felt comfortable the whole way. I rode Pinocchio (chestnut) and my partner rode Napoleon (white). All of the horses looked healthy, happy, and clearly very well taken care of, which was important to me. We decided to purchase the photo package. It was reasonably priced for the amount of high quality photos offered (93 total). Afterward, we did a tequila tasting with Nico, who was full of vibrant energy and super knowledgeable. We ended up buying a bottle to take home… but then completely forgot it on the lawn chairs while waiting for our ride. We didn’t realize until we were already halfway back to our drop-off point. Thankfully, our awesome driver Oscar turned around and met Nico, who had hopped on his motorcycle to bring the bottle to us near the entrance. They seriously both went above and beyond to accommodate us and we could not be more thankful. Highly recommend this place to anyone, whether you’re a seasoned rider or brand new. We had a great experience and look forward to returning again in the future.

An amazing two hour horseback ride with just my friend and myself and Ricardo. We went through a small town, beautiful jungle, and onto a beautiful beach. The horses were healthy and the saddles were comfortable. Ricardo was friendly, helpful, and a great guy to spend a couple of hours with. We also did not know that the package included a photographer going ahead of us on a motorcycle to take a lot of pictures at a really great price. It ended with tequila tasting!
Kathy T — Google review
Pretty much the most boring tour I've ever been on. We decided to ride ATVs and book through our hotel...big mistake. Like other reviews mention, we just traveled in a line painstakingly slow through less than a scenic landscape. Definitely no puddles or jungle, not that you would be going fast enough to make a splash anyways. They take your phones and take pictures of you crawling through town in the hope to upsell pictures, and have a whole game for when you get back too. You have to wait for an hour and a half to get a shuttle back and that's when they try to get you to buy overpriced food and drinks. Their tequila tasting is ridiculous and the tequila way over priced. Also, there was no need to wait for anything as the bus was there the whole time and we were the only ones on it! I've lived in Mexico, been to many tours and this one is cringy. I hate being treated like a child and people haggling me, period. They have a lot to learn about a good tour, but I don't think that's what they care about they're making plenty of money.
Jillian — Google review
My wife and I recently were there and did both the hike and horseback riding for the sunset. I would highly recommend both. The views on the hike are incredible and riding horseback on the beach at sunset can’t be beat! We requested Carlos as our guide for horseback riding after having him for our hike and he was more than we could have asked for! I would recommend asking for Carlos as he had a lot of local knowledge and was able to share more about the area. Thank you Carlos!

My hubby & I went on the zipline canopy tour. I would recommend it. The guides were knowledgeable and fun. I felt safe the whole time. The views from up there were spectacular. The property is gorgeous. I would give it 5 stars, but the check-in process and staff was a little bumpy.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing two hour sunset, horseback ride with our tour guide Carlos. First of all, there was complementary transportation from our hotel to the ranch, which was absolutely beautiful. It looks like they have a bunch of things to do there, but we just did the horseback riding. Carlos was super personable and took us through the little town, the jungle, and onto the beach. Meanwhile Nico, The photographer was taking spectacular photos of us, Which we loved so we didn’t have to worry about taking Our own photos. Overall, Great people and great experience!
Serena T — Google review
Definitely the highlight of an already amazing trip. A gorgeous ranch with all sorts of wild life - exotic birds, chickens, pigs, horses, donkeys. We went horseback riding – my first time and I was very nervous. Our guide, Carlos, put me at ease and I felt very safe. The horse selection was very appropriate — he put me on the horse that they use for children and the elderly (so no riff raff) and my more experienced companions were able to ride horses with a bit more spunk ;) We went through the jungle with gorgeous mountains as the backdrop, on the beach and through town (which was my favorite). Carlos even picked some fresh mangos for us along the way. When we returned we enjoyed delicious margaritas and THE best salsa I’ve ever had. We also partook in the tequila tasting, led by Omar. There were no crowds — we were one of the only groups there. It felt like my rich uncle invited us to his rustic ranch and we just had a ball. Staff was so friendly and clean facilities. I’d give them 6 out of 5 stars.
