what a beautiful historic missionary it was founded in 1701 but built and 17 35 I think you could just feel the souls that wandered all around through there what an awesome experience and what a wonderful View
Vegas V — Google review
It's a simple yet beautiful old mission that's worth walking to from town. You can cross a pedestrian bridge/dam and walk up beautiful trails to the mission. It's only 10 min from the bus stop when walking. A nice lady let us into the dormitory of the mission and up onto the roof (through some tunnels full of bird poop). The view from the roof was astounding.

Saint Barbara Maiden Parish is a unique and historically significant church located in Santa Rosalia, Mexico. Designed by Gustave Eiffel, the architect of the Eiffel Tower, this modular church was originally created for the 1889 World's Fair in Paris. Instead of being shipped to West Africa as planned, it ended up in Santa Rosalia where it was reassembled and has served as the city's church since 1895.
Nice experience. Very accessible and special construction must see
Mauricio P — Google review
Interesting church supposedly designed by Eiffel, Sat. Rosalia, BCS, México.
Cimara P — Google review
Driving through Mexico on a cross continent motorbike trip and had to stop and see the famous church built by Eifel. It is an interesting stop as most churches around here are the old brick a mortar style. This Church reminds me of a quansent like we would in Canada as a shop, it has steel frame, and steel walls. It's definitely worth stopping and taking a look at it, and the story behind it is pretty cool
Morrisons E — Google review
An amazing piece of North American history. Erected in 1887 after first being assembled next to the Eiffel Tower, her big brother. Hint: Eiffel designed and built this church.
William D — Google review
Interesting history, who could imagine that in this small town you would find that this church was prefabricated and shipped to Mexico from France and designed by Eiffel!
Andres C — Google review
A neat little history to complement the unusual construction of this church.
Michael G — Google review
This is a great place for a quick stop, I visited in July and it was extremely humid and hot.
Ms R — Google review
This is a great stop. Designed by Eiffel and shown at the Paris exposition, this modular church was packed up and shipped by a French moving company to Santa Rosalia. It was reassembled there and has served as the city's church since then. Bolted together like an erector set, the church still manages a gravel shape.

The most awesome experience(in the real meaning of awesome) We did the 8 day trip and it was the trip of a lifetime. We saw Blue whales and Fin whales with calves and had close encounters with Grey whales and especially a newly born calf, who children on our tour named 'Joey Pickleface'. We watched Joey grow over several days, at an amazing speed,in training for his big swim up to the Arctic Our guides and marine biologist were fantastic and the food and hospitality great.I cannot recommend the trip enough.
Anne S — Google review
Stunning experience and a truly impressive operation. Don’t think twice to do this trip with these guys. We just visited with 6 family in 3 generations, age 13 to 80’s. None of us can think of a single thing that could have been better. The whale watching was the focus and incredible- we interacted closely with whales every single day. Boat drivers and guides mean everything, and these are so skilled. And the camp experience, from cozy cabins and daily happy hours to hot showers and local simple delicious food, fit the vibe perfectly. The camp staff are local and quick to laugh, most are family, and they clearly love making things great for their clients. Our group has done a lot of traveling and we’ve seen lots of whales. This still blew our minds. Go.
Taylor R — Google review
If you want an incredible up close experience with the grey whales who come to San Ignacio Bay to have their calves, and then raise them until they are strong enough to make the journey northward back to the Bering Strait or other colder water, come to this rustic camp along the shore of the Bay. The accommodations are very simple, and the food is far from gourmet, but the experience and the quality, passion and heart of the people who work here is outstanding. You will see whales, touch whales, even perhaps (as I did) kiss whales. The mothers seem to want to push their babies over to you, perhaps to socialize them. We found that children's voices and laughter drew them to our boat more than any other sound, including various types of music we played and cooing and other sounds we made. You feel so close to these animals here, and you learn about them, their habits and habitats, and what their life has been over the centuries, and the way human beings have treated them. It's a fascinating experience and a privilege to enjoy it, even once.
Ellen S — Google review
Watching gray whales play around the boat is some of the most amazing wild animal encounters I've ever had. Baja Ecotours made that experience even more enjoyable. The guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. They were very respectful of the whales personal space and let the whales approach on their terms. The food was top notch. I really enjoyed the whole experience.
Peter K — Google review
The most incredible experience I've ever had, an incredibly beautiful and remote place, where the connection with nature and other people is impossible not to happen. It is not only amazing to the eye and the senses, but it is also a place to learn about our world. Being in contact with such beautiful animals in their habitat is simply magnificent.
Sandra N — Google review
The only place to go if you're going to do eco-friendly whale watching and expereince all that nature shows us. Incredible people, incredible facility we simply had a wonderful time.
Sue — Google review
It has been 19 years since my husband and I had an adventure of a lifetime. The thrill of petting a whale has to be an experience not to be forgotten. Camp was comfortable and food great. Wish I was 19 years younger and I would go again!
Nancy F — Google review
We used Baja Ecotours to swim with sea lions and see the grey whales feeding and courting near Magdalena Is. Both were incredible biological events. A great bonus is all the fish in addition to the sea lions. At times you are swimming in huge schools of them and there is a great diversity of them as well. We went to their brand new whale trip out of a small fishing village and saw the whales doing it all - spy hopping(right beside the boat), breaching, feeding, right beside the boat, under the boat& more. The company is very professional and gave a discount when they had an engine problem on the way back. Our guides were exceptional- very well informed and talkative. Both trips were very educational.

Laguna San Ignacio, situated within Latin America's largest wildlife sanctuary, is a protected lagoon that serves as one of the major winter whale-watching sites on the Pacific coast. Along with Laguna Ojo de Liebre and Bahia Magdalena, it offers an opportunity to witness these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. The Mexican government has granted unprecedented protection to 199,040 acres of surrounding land, ensuring the preservation of this pristine ecosystem for years to come.
Best place for gray whale observation, encounters. Magic spot in the desert of Baja but with the comfort and luxury of first class glamping. Best food around and hours of whale watching. At night during cocktail hour marine life presentations by local guides and marine biologists. Highly recommend the experience but also the camp with “Baja Expeditions” It’s cold. Bring enough warm clothes and windbreakers. Tours are well organized and very safe. Everyone in the area is very respectful with the whales People is awesome. We arrived by plane but it’s possible to drive.

Amazing place to see whales and dolphins
Irene G — Google review
San Ignacio Lagoon is one of the last undeveloped gray whale birthing sites on the planet and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to its pristine condition this unique area sustains an exceptional diversity of both marine & terrestrial species. Baja Expeditions has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to conservation and responsible tourism. The gray whale watching season is short and experiencing it while being well taken care of at their waterfront Eco Camp is a priceless adventure.

(Translated by Google) The Mission of San Ignacio de Kadá-Kaamán, an oasis in the middle of the Baja California Sur desert, is a testimony of the encounter between two cultures: the Spanish and the Cochimí. Founded in 1728 by the Jesuits, this majestic volcanic stone construction has stood the test of time and has become one of the greatest exponents of missionary architecture in Mexico. The Jesuits, with their tireless evangelizing work, not only built a church, but also established a community life center where the Cochimí indigenous people learned new agricultural techniques, trades and customs. The mission became a milestone on the path of evangelization, and its influence spread throughout the region. Today, Mission San Ignacio is a tourist destination that attracts visitors from all over the world. Its imposing stone walls, its golden altar and its frescoed murals tell the story of a past full of faith and perseverance. In addition to exploring the mission, tourists can enjoy activities such as hiking in the surrounding area, bird watching, and visiting local communities. The conservation of the San Ignacio Mission is a constant challenge. However, thanks to the efforts of government institutions, civil organizations and local communities, important restoration and maintenance work has been carried out. The goal is to ensure that this historical legacy endures for future generations. If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure, look no further than Mario's Tours, a local gem renowned for its exceptional whale watching experiences. With decades of expertise under their belt, they prioritize sustainability and the protection of these majestic sea creatures. The journey begins at their informative whale center, where you'll learn about responsible practices before heading to the stunning Ojo de Liebre Lagoon in search of grey whales—the stars of this region.
Absolutely amazing! I came here in 2019 outside of whaling seasons and swore I would come back to see the whales! I went today and had an absolutely magical experience! 5 whales swam up to our boat, made eye contact, and interacted with us! I thought I had bad luck with whale watching as I went on a tour in Seattle before, and the guide told us it was the first time he hadn't seen a whale for the entire tour... so was pleasantly surprised when my bad luck streak ended today! I came in late January, and was nervous that the whales hadn't arrived yet, but couldn't even count the number of whales I saw today. It was incredible and I highly recommend! The whales are curious and you look out for their spouts and then the boat "parks" a few hundred meters away. Either the whales stay away or some curious ones will come up and inspect the boat. One even nudged the boat! Absolutely incredible. We had 5 whales surrounding the boat at one point. Also, never did I feel like we were bothering the whales. They came up to the boats on their own!

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Adventure – Whales, Salt Flats & Unforgettable Moments! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐" This experience is beyond extraordinary! It starts with a fascinating whale museum, where the explanations are engaging and eye-opening. Then, Mario’s incredible family team ensures everything runs smoothly with top-notch service and great recommendations. But the real magic? Getting up close with whales, dolphins, and seals in their natural habitat—an energy like nothing you've ever felt before! And for just 900 pesos, you get a boat expedition, a delicious lunch, and a front-row seat to nature’s most breathtaking show. To top it off, the adventure continues at the stunning salt flats, where you can capture jaw-dropping, one-of-a-kind photos that look straight out of a dream. If you're anywhere near this place, DO NOT miss this! It’s not just a tour—it’s a life-changing experience.
Christian D — Google review
Located on main highway 1, a few minutes out of town. Plenty of parking, bar, restaurant, toilets & souvenirs. Didn't eat but reportedly good food. Staff respectful and attentive in tours. I had difficulty understanding the English but that was me. See the separate salt Exportadora (salt ponds and processing) only on low wind days. Operations stop when windy and you will see everything again if you do the whale watching tour.
Nabil A — Google review
We had an amazing whale watching adventure with Mario's tours going out on two separate days for gray whale watching. Their museum is a lovely introduction to what you're going to see and their briefing is thorough and informative. I appreciate that they don't chase the whales and they let the whales come to the boat. I also liked the stop at the giant salt pile on the way out.
Nadine R — Google review
I had a wonderful experience with this company. Went on a whale watch two times and both were very different. One ride cost $50, you jump in a boat of 12 passengers. It’s not ideal to have some freedom running from side to side of a boat, but you see and touch plenty! Our first day the water was flat and whales were very interactive. Two or three at the time. Second day the water was rough and because of it whales were not very communicative, yet still had luck to see and pet them. I made an appointment over WhatsApp (contact is on the website). They responded relatively fast. Hat, gloves, sunscreen, glasses must have. They will give you a waterproof poncho if needed (when the water is rough take it!). If you are camping or RV, they have a space for you too!
Tatiana — Google review
This is the 3rd time booking with Mario's Tours and without a doubt they have always come through. Our captain was Tito and did an exceptional job putting us on whales. We took our daughter in confidence of seeing and petting whales and Mario's did exactly that!! Thank you for making to some a "once in a lifetime " experience happen. We would highly recommend using Mario's for your visit to Guerro Negro. A bonus was the stop at the Salt mine. That in itself is a very cool experience. We have gone to San Ignacio is search of whales and were able to "see" them however, the crew at Mario's will make dreams come true!! MARIO'S FOR THE WIN!!
Jeff W — Google review
this tour was everything we had hoped it would be. we spent lots of time out on the water and when we finally had our encounter with the whales coming right up to the boat, it seemed to last for so long! dream come true. I will warn that if you are like me and you get sea sick, one dose of bonine or whatever you take for it may not be enough. Take extra with you to take another dose during the tour. This region gets very windy, which makes the water extremely choppy. it’s sooooooo worth it, though!
Stephen A — Google review
There is no whale tour like this anywhere. The only gales come to your boat like dogs to be petted. They glitchy to get to the boat. The pictures are real, you will pet a whale on this trip. Day starts with a quick classroom overview, 10 minute drive to the boat, 3 hours on the boat with whales, lunch is also provided. Staff are extremely professional and friendly. Could Not recommend this more highly!! We drove from San Diego and the drive was so worth it.

Despite the area's rapid development with luxurious hotels and tourist amenities, nature remains vibrant and inviting. We have taken their tour for many years. Always great service and LOTS of time on the water with the whales!!

First time whale watching and was amazed at what we saw and experienced. Could not give a higher rating than 5-stars but would if we could. From beginning to end, a very memorable day!
JohnandSarna T — Google review
The overall experience was FANTASTIC. After a brief introductory presentation, we were driven to the lagoon in a van where our boat was waiting for us. Our boat skipper knew just where to go and sure enough, after a short wait a mother and calf approached our boat and interacted with our group for 15-20 minutes. I was at first skeptical about the company as they didn't have as many reviews, but be guaranteed, they are a great outfit!
CK S — Google review
Incredible! We had looked at a few tour companies but Laguna was the one that sticked out. Friendly, professional, easy going staff! Our captain for the day was amazing too, we got close enough to the whales not to disturb them but the whales just came to us! 4 whales spent 40 min playing with our boat and hanging around us. Priceless experience. Tip your captain 🙏🏼

Phenomenal team and worth every dollar and more. Highly recommend this company

Had an incredible experience with this company: professional, nice, and affordable. Our captain was incredibly skilled and respectful of the whales, he knew how to navigate to allow the whales to approach us.

An excellent job by all. Exceeded our expectations. Up close and personal with so many whales we lost count.

(Translated by Google) Excellent service! Our guide was very nice and explained everything to us very well. The person who took us on the boat did everything possible so that we could see whales and touch them. He even dedicated a lot more time to us. We were able to see dolphins and sea lions. I highly recommend it but do the tour early in the morning at 8 am at that time there are not so many tourists and the weather is pleasant. If you get dizzy, bring dramamine. The tour includes lunch. Had an absolute blast when we visited. The hiking was fantastic and Mirador El Altar was my favorite.
Nathan F — Google review
There are specific zones to camping, a beautiful place where to escape. The bad side is that there isn't any kind of communication; no signal in phones or data.

Great place to camp. Some spots have their own grill, tables and portable restroom.

La Bufadora, located about 17 miles south of Ensenada on the Punta Banda Peninsula, is a breathtaking natural wonder that captivates visitors with its impressive marine geyser. Known as one of North America's largest blowholes, it can propel seawater over 100 feet into the air. This spectacular phenomenon occurs when ocean waves crash into a partially submerged sea cave, creating immense pressure that forces water and air out through a narrow opening.
Beautiful spot. Spectacular views. We saw a huge pod of dolphins, bigger than I have ever seen anywhere. Just pay a minimum charge for parking. Cute little market with reasonable prices and friendly people. No hard sells. Excellent restaurants.

This is a really cool spot to see the geyser! It is not the cleanest spot in the world, but it was well worth it just looking for some time and seeing the waves turn into the geyser. There were shops and markets everywhere and you could find anything you needed here. I will definitely be coming back to see it. The geyser goes off ever couple of minutes cause of the waves, some will be larger and some smaller, but I definitely got some water on me, haha!

A great place to visit! You’ll find delicious Mexican-style fish tacos — absolutely worth trying. The drinks are excellent too; for example, the Piña Colada is a must. Don’t miss seeing the blowhole, and taking pictures in front of the **Ensenada** with this spot la bufadora sign is an amazing experience!

I am not sure how my experience compares to a cruise shore excursion but in my opinion it is not worth going to. It was about an hour drive outside of Ensenada. When I arrived I had to park at the top of the hill which cost 50 pesos, so relatively affordable. As soon as you start walking down hill, which takes about ten minutes, you are hit with vendors trying to sell you things. There are maybe 50-100 vendors trying to sell you anything from illicit items to trinkets to food. I did end up buying a couple items from a shop that wasn't pushy. When I got to the bottom there was a 360 camera you could rent as well as a drone. I'm not sure how either of those worked as I just went to the regular viewing platform. The reason I was disappointed is because you can see water flying upwards and hear the noise, but you can't actually see any hole. You just see water flying up, which I can do elsewhere on the western coast with a rocky shoreline during king tides. It was cool to visit once, but I spent maybe 5 minutes before leaving. If it wasn't so far from Ensenada it would probably be worth visiting.

Hello everyone, if you guys are ever in the Ensenada area and never been to the "La Bufadora " blow hole you guys need to come see this natural phenomenon. Its pretty cool. I will say that now its been terra formed and its a tourist attraction with lots of vendors selling you everything. If that is not your cup of tea then you might want to avoid it. Since its a tourist attraction of course its very expensive and tourist busses from drop folks off from the ship cruises. I would now that you know this plan accordingly and enjoy. There are restaurants, vendors can almost sell you anything for a price.. Have fun my brothers and sisters.
Rogelio J — Google review
Its a unique experience to watch the geysers. Its hard to miss them, as they go off every 1-2 minutes, atleast when we went. Its also a cool location for some photos
Chandra R — Google review
Ah yes, a *beautiful* place... wrapped in the glittery gift wrap of a tourist trap. It lured us in with stunning views and then immediately hit us with “Buy this! No, *this!* Also, why aren’t you tipping me for breathing near you?” It was like strolling through a scenic maze of aggressive sales pitches. I swear, if one more stall owner shouted “Special price just for you!” I was going to hand them Monopoly money and see if they noticed. Tipping culture here? Wild. It’s like they heard about tips once in a dream but missed the part where it’s optional and for *good service*, not just for existing in the same zip code. Restrooms? Spotless! But entry might cost you up to \$1, so I hope your bladder carries spare change. It’s the first time I’ve peed and felt like I was at a vending machine. As for the prices—rumored to be “cheaper” than back home? Lies. Some things were California-level expensive, and I’m 99% sure they were charging me the “you look like you don’t haggle” rate. All in all, it *was* a beautiful place to see… once. Just once. I’ve had my fill of scenic views, unsolicited trinkets, and \$1 bathroom adventures.
Shela T — Google review
Interesting place with amazing scenery. The vendors are very pushy though. I went on a Monday morning and there were not a lot of other tourists there so all of the vendor's attention seemed to be focused on my friends and I lol.

Very interesting place with beautiful old architecture and relaxing gardens decorated for Christmas. Some people bring their dogs here and many couples enjoy the romantic setting.

When visiting Ensenada we recommend this Great historic location just a short walk from the docks. The grounds are in lovely condition with ample well maintained sidewalks and patios. Inside the property reflects the charm and history of the area with access to a number of large rooms, ballrooms and a spacious courtyard, complete with local vendors offing their goods. It’s safe, clean, well maintained and free!

Tacos Bullos Place Ensenada

$$$$affordable
Taco restaurant
Tacos Bullos Place in Ensenada is a delightful gem that every taco lover should visit. This charming eatery, with its cozy mom-and-pop vibe, offers an array of mouthwatering options including shrimp ceviche and marlin tacos that boast unique flavors. The friendly staff speaks English and provides quick service, making it an ideal stop for cruisers looking to indulge in delicious fish tacos or hearty shrimp varieties.
During our Carnival Cruise in Ensenada, we wanted to try out one of the taco spots in town. This place was super packed, so we knew we went to the right spot. Our server greeted us immediately, with a big smile on his face which made us feel very welcomed. We decided to order 3 tacos a piece (Asada, fish, and shrimp) with a side of canned sodas and the meal was actually pretty cheap in comparison to most places we’ve visited. All of tacos were filled to the rim with delectably fresh meats and veggies. There were a ton of taped dollar bills with names scribbled on them (I’m guessing a restaurant tradition), so we decided to mark our names on the wall as well. This place was so delicious, very affordable and offers some really wonderful service.

Absolutely delicious! Super fresh ingredients, fast and friendly service. The shrimp tostada had the perfect flavor. Variety of salsa- super spicy to a basic pico. Loved every minute of it. Will come again.

The marlin taco was outstanding and an incredibly unique flavour and texture that I've never encountered before. The margaritas were super tasty and pack quite a punch! If you're a lightweight you may want to split this with someone as it'll likely knock you off your feet otherwise. We will definitely be coming back!

The fish tacos were fresh and delicious. The service was quick and our waiter, Francisco, was helpful, kind, and very funny. The cruise ship shuttle dropped us off in downtown and this restaurant was a very short walk from that spot.

L. A. Cetto, an established winery with a history dating back to 1928, is now the largest producer of table wines in Mexico and renowned for their production of Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel. The vineyard boasts a spacious tasting room adorned with rustic wood ceilings and floor-to-ceiling racks of wine bottles; however, it can get crowded on weekends.
The 1st of 2 wineries of our really cheap $40 Costco Travel wine tasting tour. LA Cetto is the largest, most established, and modern winery in Mexico(don't quote on me on that). Started with a somewhat interesting 25-30 minute tour of winery...just long enough, our lovely, energetic, and English fluent speaking tour guide Anatella was a delight. The facilities are modern and the landscapes are lovely. The bread, cheese, and olive oil snack was fresh and delicious, but the wines were even better! The two whites were light, crisp, smooth and refreshing...the two reds were bold, robust, rich, and fragrant. Anatella even brought out a bottle of Grappa for me try, loved! We ended up buying two bottles of white, a bottle of red, a bottle of grappa, and bottle of olive oil which totaled to be about $80 American, which is an absolute deal compared to Napa and Sonoma.

Even though i can’t really rate the wine because im a minor (and can’t drink for obvious reasons) the tour the workers gave was really cool. The good thing is that because minors don’t get to drink they also don’t have to pay for the tour. The tour showed really cool things and told us the history and uses of the things in the installations (both in english and Spanish)

Very interesting experience. Gives details of how wine making got starting in Baja, Mexico. If you're in the area and like museums, you should check it out. The place provides wine tasting and has a large assortment of wines. There is also a mini coffee and gift ship in the back. There are cheeses to try, and the Popsicles are great for the hot weather.

El Museo de Vino is a great museum on the history of wine, first from Georgia (Europe) and then the history of wine making in Baja California. Very informative, lots to learn and see about the earliest production of wine around the world. Also, lots of art - paintings and ceramic pieces with and without a wine theme. Spent two hours here and it was worth it.
David P — Google review
If you go to the area then you want to check out this museum. Not super entertaining but you learn a couple of things. We paid for the degustation wine taste but the guy was busy for 20 mins with another customer so we didn't benefit of the extra payment. Good views and interesting architecture though

It's a great place to find out how Mexican wine country began. Plenty of old artifacts from vineyards and plenty of information about the soil, grapes, and the vineyards in the area. The museum has jaw dropping views of the vineyard behind it. The museum would be a great venue for big art events or private parties with their second floor event space. Inexpensive entrance fee, you can add wine tasting to your ticket. Worth a visit to geek out. Oh, everything is in Spanish. Visit with a Spanish speaking friend or maybe it's time to learn a second language.

Nice museum, very clean, but small and you have to pay to get in. It can easily be toured in an hour. So if you're nearby, visiting the wineries, this can be a nice little stop to take a short break and get a few photos.

Monte Xanic is a 300-acre vineyard located in the Valle de Guadalupe, in the heart of the Bodega region. The winery produces world-class wines, including a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. It is important to note that advance reservations are required, as guards will only open the gate once they've checked that a reservation has been made.
I can’t say enough good things about how memorable and beautiful this place is. The wine tasting where you smell and identify notes was so unique and well executed. It’s $60 a person so definitely pricey but included the full experience, a cheese board, and a short tour. I’m so so glad we came here
Aria S — Google review
Visited Thursday, July 24 – Monte Xanic is a must for wine lovers! We did the Aromas and Flavors experience, which included a beautiful tour of the winery, a fun tasting game where we guessed ingredients by taste and smell, and a delicious cheese board to pair with the wines. The experience was playful, relaxing, and set against the backdrop of stunning vineyard views. Sip local. Support local.

I never would have imagine a winery like this in the middle of the Mexican dessert. This place has everything and I would dare to say is at par or better than most Napa/Sonoma wineries. The views, the service, the wine, the attention to details, the different games to make the tasting experience better, the tapas, the knowledge of the people, all made for an elevated experience surpassing the best wineries in other regions. We went with the blind wine tasting and the personnel made the whole thing super interesting, fun and educative. I have never seen this in other wineries. And we learned that the winery has other experiences depending on your group. The wine was superb. Their reserve was our favorite. While not cheap, compared to others, it was completely worth it. This is one of those places to visit when visiting Valle.
Manuel N — Google review
Loved the winery. It's a beautiful property and our guide Abril was great. You do need a reservation though. Tried to come here a year ago and was turned away at the gate. This time we had a reservation and tried some very good to great wines, for a tour of the winery, and were able to enjoy time just hanging out there. At the end they let us keep our wine glasses. The Gran Ricardo wine has some hype to it; tried it and it is worth it. Ended up taking a bottle home.

They were able to seat us on the lake, which was amazing. Super refreshing and relaxing. their Sauvignon Blanc was delicious and service was great.

We got there having no reservations. We were allowed to the lower side of the winery, next to the lake- which is great too! It’s quiet, relaxing, the wines are great. Try the cabernet with the bread options. You will love it here!

What an incredible place. Monte Xanic was our favorite winery we visited in the area by far. Not only was the wine superb, and the views stunning, but our tour guide / wine tasting “guru” -Sara, really knew her stuff. She truly knew how to describe wine in a way that made us want to buy all of the bottles in the winery. The wine in an of itself though tasted delicious all the way down the line (I think we tried all of the ones on the tasting menu, plus the ones they served by the glass - ha!!) it’s also really cool to note that this winery was truly started by Mexicans for Mexicans which made it feel like a truly “Mexican wine” experience which I think is what we wanted to go for when we came to the area. We highly recommend this winery and we will definitely be back. Thanks Sara for being the perfect guide! Next time we come back, I hope you’re managing the place!! 😊

Lovely and tranquil environment. Excellent food. I found most of the red wine I tried to be a bit too tannic for my taste...but I'm not an expert. In our group the Sauvignon Blanc was a hit. The outdoor kitchen with the Santa Maria grill and wood fired oven delivers some amazing food and is interesting to watch and enjoy.

What unforgettable experience! Blessed to have the chance to visit this winery at the Valle. Felt exclusive and safe area. I went with a group of friends and we did a 5 wine tasting with a charcuterie board.

The ambience was perfect. The Catch Of The Day meal was perfect. The staff was excellent. The white wine was flavorless and unpalatable. They refused to replace it. Ordered a bottle of the Cabernet. Very good wine. Would definitely return, but taste the wine before ordering a bottle.
Judith W — Google review
Some of the wine is very good. All of it is at least good, probably better. We were here in 2018, and then again recently in July 2025. Some things have changed, and I think for the better. One thing that has not changed is the stunning view from the "tasting deck." It simply cannot be beat. (Monte Xanic rivals, but does not beat it.) Another thing that has not changed is that the staff are just not as good as the wine. I cannot put my finger on it, but it kinda feels like they don't actually care as much as the people at our favorite places (which are all family operated).

Just left this Vineyard and while the food and wine are good, the experience we just had while receiving a complimentary wine tour was atrocious. We had the unpleasant experience of having a female Spaniard tour guide that was completely rude. We spoke to the manager and she was delightful. Please beware when you go and if you have the misfortune of getting that female, skip the tour or wait for another tour guide if available.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Decantos Vinicola! The views from their location are stellar. We had a couple of glasses of wine each, and we purchased one of theirs pizzas. The wines were excellent, and the pizza was above average. Prices were very fair.

Took a family trip down to Ensénada to celebrate Memorial Day and also as an early birthday trip for myself. Never been wine tasting in Mexico but the misses keeps talking about it, so here was my change. This was the final local on our multi stop tour and we were delighted by the experience. The staff was friendly and attentive. They made sure we had everything we needed and what wines worked best with our food selection. All the staff was masked up and kept a solid distance to meet Covid-19 guidelines for the venue. The location has great views of the wine valley and several spots for a photo opt or two. Definitely will come back again.

1920s-built stone tower with observation deck for desert views, plus a museum & gift shop.
Absolutely loved the camping experience. Mainly because there were so many cute dogs and cats on the property. Such an interesting history and the desert. The owner was just so kind to us. It was wau too windy for us to camp in our tents so they let us camp in the towner. We enjoyed talking with the owner and their friends. The bathroom was very clean and easy to camp. We would love to come back !!

This place was very informative, and to think we almost missed it on the freeway. To be honest, we had a great time talking to the host and learning about the history behind the tower. Afterward, we spent an hour and a half exploring the huge rocks while encountering new creatures around every corner that had been carved into the very rocks we were climbing under and over. Do not get discouraged by the hills. Have eyes vibe the road taking you there provokes. What waits at the end is truly worth the ride. This diamond in the rough, hidden on the side of the road, needs to be seen and remembered

A very interesting landmark and viewpoint outside of the San Diego city borders. Went here because I wanted to see something different, and surely found that. The price of admission is worth the view alone, and you can go to the boulder park. Be prepared for strong gusts and strong sunlight, you're basically in the desert here. The owner is in for an interesting chat, and has some lovely pet dogs. If you like to travel back to San Diego from here, try old highway 80, it's a more scenic experience than just travelling the regular highway.
Dutch D — Google review
Google maps list the hours of operation as open until 1800. But the locals living near the tower will tell you it closes at 1700. You can still see the outside of the tower but the gift shoppe will be closed after 1700 (5pm). There are walking paths in the boulders behind the tower and a red box for cash donations. The people residing up there have many dogs, guineafowls, and I saw a peacock. There is an older couple that sit outside their travel trailer and watch visitors. They don’t wave or express any hospitality, they just watch you - creepy. The tower is awesome, and the view is majestic. It is worth the stop.

We were too late to view inside the tower - closes at 5, and we were 15 min late, but a guy showed up and said we could tour the rock caves. I'm grateful he clarified that. Thank you for allowing my grandbabies some fun and amazing memories.

Shout-out to Sam for the great hospitality. Lived all my life in the valley and always wanted to explore the tower, it didn't disappoint. Step inside the tower to shop for souvenirs and have a walk around to say hi to the beautiful birds❤️

Horseback Riding Tours
This should be the top of your list for a MUST-DO activity in Baja! The owners and crew are wonderful people who love what they do and are so thrilled to share their love of horses and of the beautiful land of La Mision. Horseback riding through the estuary with the landscape of grand walls of the canyons to transition to the Pacific Ocean for a gallop on the beach was simply magical. We went once with family and had such an amazing time that I went back again for my birthday with friends. A very special memory that I will cherish forever. Thank you Horses by Jose!

Wow! What an unforgettable adventure! 🤩 It was my first time riding a horse, and Horses by Jose made it the perfect experience for a beginner. Erin was an amazing teacher and guide—always checking in, offering clear and relatable advice, and making sure I felt confident every step of the way. Before I knew it, I was galloping along the stunning shores of Mexico! 😍 I’ll definitely be visiting them again soon, and now I’m inspired to find a place closer to home to keep the magic going✨

This was the BEST experience ever!! My roommate and I did this excursion based off a recommendation and it did not disappoint! The trail was BEAUTIFUL and Erin was the sweetest guide ever. She took tons of pictures for us which I’ll attach below and she gave us so much guidance. She speaks English so it’s super easy to communicate if that’s something you’re worried about. She also lets you run the horses on the beach which is unlike any other experience. Highly highly recommend! Such a treat for your visit to Ensenada.

Great place to go horseback riding in Baja. Jose and his team are wonderful and the horses are great. Some of the people in my group were first time riders, while some were more advanced. Everyone had a great time.

Probably one of our best horse excursions ever. Horses are all healthy and well loved, team is awesome. We were able to all ride at speeds comfortable for us. We will be back for sure! Not to mention they take incredible photos

Highlight of our trip to Rosarito! José and his crew were so friendly and helpful. We took a beautiful trail to the beach and galloped beside the ocean. We had a group of 4, and a couple joined so it felt like a very personal experience. Pictures and videos were taken during the whole ride and given to us afterwards. Overall would highly recommend booking with José.
Renee S — Google review
We are two for two in awesome experiences with Erin and Jose. We e only been to Ensenada twice, and the family has chosen this experience both times. It’s not your basic trail ride. While it starts with a trail ride, you head to the beach where they let you loose to ride at your pace/ability. One daughter just walks along the waves, while my other daughter and I get ours racing in a flat out run along the beach. The second time we had a bit more time in Ensenada, so Erin planned an incredibly special food and drink experience. Could not have enjoyed our time more.

Pacific Southwest Railway Museum

Rail museum
Museums
Venue featuring historic engines & trains, plus a train ride across the Mexican border & back.
Amazing experience coming to visit the Campo Railroad museum. Take the 94 east and enjoy scenic San Diego, the 8 is boring. The railroad museum boasts an array of rail cars and engines to look at. The restored cars are exquisite all the way to the wood inlay details. We learned a lot about trains and railroads here. The train ride takes you on a nice journey, on your return trip it will take you to the museum which is not even a 100 yards from where you board. If you need it there is a small shuttle that will take you back. All in all a great experience and worth every penny. This volunteer run organization puts a lot out there for kids young and old to enjoy!

Very nice museum with a lot to look at. It was nice to be able to go into and explore the old trains. They also have multiple trains out back to "look" at. Great fun for the family. Train ride was pretty cool. It was a hot day, but when the train is moving, you get a lot of air circulation.
Sherri S — Google review
My wife and I got there not too early and still had time to ride the train. The customer service is excellent. There was a gentleman giving information about the history of the area and the railroad. The museum is kept in excellent condition, super clean. The gift shop is well supplied and the prices are very ok. We'll be back soon.
Ramon G — Google review
This place was a great place to take the kids, seems that the new gift shop attendant isn't friendly nor customer service oriented. If this is a volunteer museum his time on his phone was more important and most of all very certain race friendly, he completed a paragraph text prior to speaking and we spoke first, however his only question was "Did you purchase tickets online" his phone began to be priority, mind you we've been coming here since 2008 when it was a GEM and Tecate trips were fun, now after our last little ones attended, we don't feel as if its the same experience as prior visits, however Dave, his counterpart and Teresa were very nice, but theres always one to spoil it for people
Cliff J — Google review
This is a fun Plato go old or young. The train ride is not long but it is a beautiful area to see. The out and back trip takes about 30-40 minutes. If you like trains the museum has a lot of things to see.

Celebrated our son’s 2nd birthday here! Was nice and quiet, we had the whole place to ourselves! This was perfect for family , also because our 5 year old has mental disability (autism non verbal) , we had a great time! Rich history! Wear your boots ! Bring sunscreen! Bathrooms were all clean !
Shyanne O — Google review
If you love trains or just like history this is a great place to visit. Lots of little experiences that your kids will probably not get anywhere else. We got to stand and look out a train car while going down the track. See the train engine pushing the cars we were on and stand on the very end of the train as it chugged down the tracks. Very cool
Steve M — Google review
So much fun!! The volunteers are friendly and inviting. The train ride was a blast & we can't wait to visit again. A smooth 45 minute ride through beautiful rolling hills with Big Band music playing overhead, gave us us a rare glimpse into its history. We saw horses, cows, and hawks in an area most people don't get to see. Like them on social media & you'll receive $5 off! Children under 3 ride for free. Tons of free parking.

The brewery is not open for tours, only the tasting room is open. This is not the location of the tasting room, do not go to this pin. On maps look up JARDIN CERVEZA TECATE, the entrance is just west of this pin. They give you one free Tecate on draft, you can't purchase any additional beers.

Spas & Wellness
Rancho La Puerta is an 80-year-old destination spa resort located on the border of San Diego and Tecate. The Spanish-style casitas offer a luxurious stay surrounded by 4,000 acres of manicured gardens and the sacred Kuuchamaa Mountain. The resort offers comprehensive spa services, sports activities like tennis and volleyball, exercise classes including Pilates and yoga, as well as fresh organic pescatarian cuisine. Additionally, there are daily community classes taught by staff members.
This place is heaven on earth! The owners care about and conserve the natural resources on this property. The organic farm and vegetarian food make this a model for any community. They have won awards for water conservation and have a state of the art treatment facility. The employees are all from the Tecate area and generations of families have worked at The Ranch. A wonderful community!

My daughter and I are here again after a few years and it never disappoints! If you’re looking for a glitzy, high-end spa experience the ranch may not be your cup of tea but it suits us perfectly. The grounds are serene and beautifully maintained, the food is wonderful and the staff bends over backwards to make your time here memorable. We love the earthiness and serenity of it. Even if we had unlimited funds, we would choose RLP to go to. I highly recommend it.
Nancy K — Google review
It’s our first time here and I’m absolutely in love. Service is amazing, and everyone you see guest or staff, is inevitably happy. There is an earthiness and authenticity about this place. It may not be the most modern and fancy, but certainly very charming and serene. Every corner of this place is impeccably maintained. It does not look aged or outdated at all for being 85 years old. It seems to just bring peace when you are here. The classes are also great, instructors are consistently high quality. For other reviews that mention the negatives, to be fair, yes you can hear some traffic on the side of the resort near the road. But it didn’t bother me and our villa is on the other side facing the mountain so it’s very quiet. The food I’d give a 7 out of 10. I’m not vegetarian so that could be a factor. Lunch options are typically salad, sautéed veggies and a soup, maybe a fish taco. Dinners sit-down coursed style but I wish there is more variety in the seafood offered. It’s mostly just white fish. I have not been wowed by the food but it certainly is not unpleasant.
Claire Z — Google review
RLP is food for your soul. Treat yourself. It can be hiking and workout classes or spa treatments and relaxing or meditative and healing the mind and body. There are so many options that everyone’s interests are met. Water Dance/Therapy was my favorite. Worth checking out

The Agua Caliente County Park offers a rugged and natural setting with 140 campsites, hot springs, hiking trails, picnic areas, and play zones. It is located in the middle of the desert and features a general store that sells books on gem hunting and wild west history along with supplies like cool crystals. Though the hot springs are chlorinated, they still offer a relaxing and clean experience.
Highly recommend this location! It's the perfect place to truly disconnect. The natural beauty is incredible—nights are amazing, and mornings are breathtaking. The pools are the perfect bonus. While cell service is spotty, the ranger station conveniently provides free Wi-Fi. The amenities are great: they have flush toilets, and showers can be used for a small fee. Be sure to bring enough food, drinks, and ice for your stay. You may even be able to book one of their cabins! Plus, the town of Julian (40 minutes away) is close enough for a quick trip to grab a great slice of apple pie.

We were looking for a new place to park. The r v for a weekend and ended up at agua caliente county park which was quite delightful. We stayed in a spot with full hook ups.And the camping spots were really quite private and had some wonderful spots. No cell service Being in the desert, ours had zero shade. As did most of the park. The hot spring box was quite lovely. The outdoor pool was nice but needed more chairs. I didn't use the public showers. We enjoyed Moonlight Trail. Saw the Easter bunny and food runners, quail and bighorn sheep. There was a cute music history show that was informational.

This is one of you go to campgrounds. It was hot in mid September, and there aren't many sites with shade, but the pools were key to enjoying the trip even with the heat. There are several historical markers to visit near by as well as the mud caves. We keep coming back to this camp ground because it is well kept and friendly.
Aaron B — Google review
We just returned from an early season stay in a cabin. It was nice because it had AC, as the other reviews mentioned, $70 a night, sink, bathroom and two queen platforms, beautiful view. There are a couple cabins that face the mountains so if you want the view check the map. I love the mineral spring pools, even though the heating element was currently broken it was still about 90 degrees. I didn’t enjoy the other campers so much, a strange bunch in the pool, I can only imagine what it is like when it’s really crowded. Still a very relaxing experience. I hiked both of their trails and perhaps because of the early season they weren’t well maintained and signage was minimal. I got lost and had to scramble over many rocks but that sort of made it adventurous. I didn’t see any sheep but did see two campers on the trail doing something I wish I hadn’t seen! I definitely would return here hopefully to a cabin as the tent sites are diverse and often shade less. Cabins are hard to score, also bring bug spray, watch your food for mice. Make sure you have your supplies in order as the camp store is currently closed. El Centro is 50 minutes away but it was kind of interesting exploring their giant Walmart. I was able to use my satellite feature to send a few texts, it’s nice to go off the grid, if you do need internet it’s a short drive to Vallecito park up the road for service. Very beautiful, good mana, some trippy people, makes it interesting.
Spinner B — Google review
This is a very nice place to camp! It’s a fairly small campground. And can be noisy when the campgrounds are full. I would recommend ear plugs at night. They also have a pool and hot springs. They also have showers that you can use, that I believe are free.
Kira K — Google review
The campsites are spacious and nicely kept, the bathrooms are pretty clean. But I was sadly surprised to arrive at 6pm and be told that the pools were closed! They close the pools at 5pm except on weekends. I assume this is due to budget issues, but just be aware that M-Th you can't soak except for 9:30-5, the hottest parts of the day. The showers are coin-op so bring small bills or change (50c for 3 mins). And the showers were cold. All in all, for close to $40 for a tent site, I was expecting at least a hot shower.
Kat S — Google review
We come here every year with our family and always make such fun memories. The sunsets here are unlike anywhere else and the pools are perfect for the warm days. They also have hot springs which are fun to relax in. We always look forward to coming here.
Kelly H — Google review
Camped here for our first time in Jan. Great small park about 100 campsites and 15-20 cabins to rent. We went swimming as the pools are heated by the natural springs. They have a waiting pool for littles. Hiking was fun. Beware, 3 out of 5 of us got jumping cactus on us while hiking. Great views too.

Lions Tigers & Bears The San Diego Animal Sanctuary®

Mentioned on

Nature & Parks
Lions Tigers & Bears The San Diego Animal Sanctuary® is a remarkable haven for wild animals that have been rescued from unfortunate situations, often stemming from misguided attempts at pet ownership. This sanctuary serves as a safe refuge where these majestic creatures can live out their lives in peace and comfort, thanks to the dedicated efforts of Bobbi and her team of volunteers.
Well worth a visit and supporting a good cause. The Lions, Tigers, and Bears Sanctuary is not a zoo. I was pleased to see that the animal enclosures are very large, secure, and clean. We learned the difference between the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, is that the zoo is a conservatory and this sanctuary is a rescue. The animals that came to the sanctuary came from backyard owners, breeders, neglect, entertainment industry, etc. It's nice to see the animals live out the rest of their lives at the sanctuary.
** — Google review
We had a wonderful time visiting the animal sanctuary and were happy to contribute by purchasing some donation items for the zoo. It was heartwarming to see the rescued animals being cared for, although it was sad to learn that many had been mistreated in the past. The highlight of our visit was getting tickets to feed the animals, which was an unforgettable experience. Visitors could choose to feed lions, bears, or tigers. My husband chose to feed a lion, which seemed to be the most popular option. Unfortunately, the first couple in line took a long time feeding the lion, so by the time it was our turn, we were only allowed to feed it three times. While we understand the staff needs to regulate feeding portions, it would have been nice if they managed the time more equally for everyone. This sanctuary is best suited for visitors 18 and older, as feeding the animals is an activity reserved for adults. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the venue itself is unique and versatile. It’s a cool place to host events or simply relax while spending time with the animals. We’re looking forward to staying overnight next

We can't say enough good things about the amazing work done at Lions, Tigers & Bears on Alpine, CA, just 40 minutes from downtown San Diego. It's a truly certified & accredited sanctuary - no touching the animals, no photos next to them, they are in huge enclosures with grass and dirt under their paws, and may live out their rescued lives in peace. I have close-ups of the animals, but you don't see the huge areas they live in that mimic their natural habitat as much as possible. The white tiger in with the orange tiger, we saw them when they were almost babies and maybe 20lbs, they are now 150lbs. We always see something different each time we go. Being a member is a great way to go often. San Diego is lucky to have the Zoo & Safari Park out here, but Lions, Tigers & Bears is another not to miss experience if you are nearby. These are wild animals that have been saved from lives of abuse - like two of the lions rescued from that Tiger King scum. Lions, Tigers & Bears help save 70 of all his Tigers and found accredited homes for the other 68 felines. Did you know white tigers are from specific purposeful inbreeding and they have eye and health issues due to it - pretty yes, but WRONG to be bred like that. They also just got a "liger" (pics 13&14) - purposefully bred lion & tiger - WRONG!!! So many health problems. Poor thing. In person, we could see her very faint tiger stripes. She is getting used to seeing people go by and acclimating to the sanctuary. Never stop at an unsanctioned or non-accredited roadside "zoo," nor anything involving wild animal petting, ANY animal circus, animal fights, exotic animal "hunting," or where animals are chained up and/or in small, concrete floor enclosures. Those are not safe for the animals - tell your kids "no" and that you'll take them to a real, safe zoo or sanctuary (and always check their credentials). And if it is a domestic animal farm, still look for cleanliness, do the animals look well feed, humane conditions, no choke-chains, antagonizing, or other harsh behavior. Stop by and see the Lions, Tigers & Bears whenever you can - it should be on everyone's SoCal experience list!
Mary M — Google review
An absolutely beyond-this-world experience! We were deeply moved by Bobbie’s story and truly admire her courage and dedication to rescuing animals and raising awareness about the heartbreaking reality of exotic animal trafficking
Kristina G — Google review
The pre tour video is a bit long, and the story is sad as it describes the poor treatment the animals received in the movie and circus industries, as well as by prior individual owners. However the animals are well treated now and the volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable l. They clearly care about the animals. The tour guide on Saturday is a school teacher and did an amazing tour! Everyone in our family enjoyed the visit. A great value.
Eric J — Google review
It was a great experience! You have to buy your ticket in advance, because the experience consists of an organized tour (1.5 hrs), and then you can roam the grounds on your own. Eddie the Jaguar was amazing. The sanctuary was very clean, with well-maintained enclosures and spaces that made both the animals and visitors feel safe and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, always ready to answer questions or provide more information about the animals and their stories. You can also feed some of the animals, which is cool. The sanctuary itself was beautiful, set amidst picturesque surroundings that added to the peaceful atmosphere. It was easy to get to as well. Large highways most the way, and NO winding mountain roads, which is nice. I left feeling inspired and grateful for the work the sanctuary is doing. It’s a perfect place for animal lovers and families. However, small children may not like some of the images of abused animals during the 20-minute video at the beginning of the tour. Great experience. Highly recommend!
Andrew K — Google review
The park is very clean, and the animals are well taken care of. The website says to wear comfortable shoes as the paths are dirt. A more accurate description is that the pathways are gravel and sand and slippery. Had I known, I would have worn hiking boots. I slipped as I was walking down a hill on the way to my car and sprained my wrist. Badly. Railings or steps should be installed around the property. The terrain is uneven and gravelly. More attention should be paid to the people who visit and not just the animals.
Patricia Z — Google review
My husband and I visited the sanctuary from the east coast as part of a week long vacation in California. Even though this was only two hours of our trip, it’s all we’re still talking about now that we’re home. We did the Feed With a Keeper tour and had Chris as our volunteer guide. I was impressed with how passionate and knowledgeable she was about the animals. She went out of her way to make sure we had a great experience. We even got to talk to Bobbi briefly and the lead keeper, Cody. Our tour was closer to 3 hours, even though we only paid for 2. She wanted to make sure we had plenty of opportunity to meet and feed all the amazing animals. Being that close to and interacting with the big cats and bears was absolutely awe inspiring and I’ll never forget it. I work in the animal behavior field and spent many years working in an animal shelter and was impressed with the care and enrichment the animals at the sanctuary received. Truly a special place. I wish we lived closer, we would come back again and again!

The San Diego Animal Sanctuary and Farm, operated by the Children's Nature Retreat Foundation, is a remarkable hidden treasure. It offers a serene atmosphere where visitors can interact with gentle creatures and enjoy the tranquility. The sanctuary provides the freedom to wander at one's own pace, feed the animals through or above the fences, and even have a peaceful picnic lunch. Additionally, indulging in delicious ice cream treats from the snack bar supports their noble cause. This experience should not be missed!
Wonderful lil sanctuary. Took us about 40 minutes to stroll through. Peacocks, goaT, sheep, horses, zebra, ostrich, chickens, bison, ponies, tortoise and cats amongst pretty plants and trees made it an enjoyable time. . We were able to pet those animals that placed body against fence. The bison was very cool and surprisingly social. Paid a few extra bucks for some hay and seed to feed everyone. Upon leaving, we decided to purchase a $25 ostrich egg. Bucket list material and a huge bargain!! April was extremely friendly and gave us the low down about some animals and how to store the egg. Very cool and affordable experience!! Highly recommend.

5 stars The San Diego Animal Sanctuary and Farm is an absolute hidden gem! From the moment we walked in, it was clear how much love and care goes into every inch of this place. The animals are clearly well taken care of, and the staff is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about conservation and animal welfare. We got to meet goats, pigs, emus, alpacas—you name it! And each animal has a story, a personality, and a home that feels safe and happy. It’s heartwarming to see a place so dedicated to giving animals a second chance and educating visitors about compassion and care for all creatures. Huge thank you to everyone who works and volunteers here—you’re doing such important work and creating lifelong memories for families like mine. We’ll definitely be back (and bringing friends)!

The owner and volunteers are very lovely and helpful. They definitely a good variety of primarily farm animals with some fun exotic animals sprinkled throughout. Every enclosure had an animal open to accepting food. Getting the hay bucket/bird feed is absolutely necessary for the experience. It's a bit pricey for the one-day "membership" but I'm sure their yearly memberships make the cost per visit more worth it. Overall a fun experience!

What a beautiful place! We got there around 12:30. The person on the front was very helpful and kind. We paid 85 for both me and my husband, and a bucket of food. We went in our own pace, saw all the animals and enjoyed. We left around 3pm. They have some snacks and produce from their own garden. Totally recommend it!

A very special place! Our entire family had the most enjoyable afternoon at the sanctuary farm; it is well laid out for easy walking, with many resting spots in the shade if needed. We went there for birthday celebration and Eileen helped deliver our lunch and birthday supplies to the picnic area, it was really relaxing. The animals are very well cared for, and very friendly! There was not an enclosure where an animal did not approach us, we didn't want to leave and will definitely be back!

❤️Such a well maintained, special sanctuary for these many animals! We love this place! So many pleasant places provided to sit and watch the animals and eat a picnic. Great place to cone and visit with your family. It has a little bit for everyone. I just discovered a place for kids call "mini city" not bad. Is like a city where kids get to perform jobs as if they were adults living in a city.

I always love this place. It's like home to me. Being born in America, I never felt at home. The people there are wonderful and respectful. As long as you give the same respect! But that's anywhere you go in the world. Despite our countries lack of empathy towards the Mexican people, you never know what your missing in life until you visit this place.🙃🤗❤️ Not to mention the fact that they are completely on top of this whole virus thing, and checking temps, using sanitizer and wearing masks in all places visited.

My first time going. It's a clean mall without any roofs like old style. Very updated and security everywhere. Plenty of parking. They charge 5 pesos per hour. Nice shops just like you will see in states. Someone told me. It's better to park here than at to border. 1. Tj border hard to find parking sometimes especially on west ped way. I had that experience. No parking. You park at the Rio plaza and take taxi cost 5 pesos to the San ysidero border. It's alot easier than parking at border and pay high price.

An outdoor shopping experience the whole family will like. There is the usual clothing and shoe stores for both men and women, including some high-end boutiques. It has a recently remodeled movie theater, a casino, several nice restaurants, two food courts, and a small outdoor theater for live performances. You will pay 5 pesos for 3 hours parking.

Prices are cheap through out this mall. The prices are similar to the outlets here in the USA. The workers at Starbucks spoke good English. And the food was really inexpensive.

There are many stores located in the plaza. The supermarket Soriana has a wide selection of imported products that are worth a try. Parking is limited at times. It would be nice if the plaza had more selection of stores.

Museums
The Tijuana Cultural Center, also known as Centro Cultural Tijuana (CECUT), is a modern museum and cultural hub that offers a diverse range of experiences. Visitors can explore exhibits and installations showcasing Mexican history and culture, enjoy an IMAX theater, stroll through botanical gardens, browse art displays in a bookstore, visit an aquarium, grab coffee at the on-site cafe, and catch films or live concerts.
My wife and I had an amazing time visiting the Tijuana Cultural Center. From the moment we arrived, the energy was incredible—live music echoed through the open spaces, creating a festive atmosphere that made the entire experience feel alive and welcoming. One of our favorite parts was browsing the vendor area. There were so many unique, handcrafted goods that truly reflected the creativity and spirit of the region. You can tell the artisans take great pride in their work. The art exhibits were thought-provoking and beautifully curated. Some pieces were bold and experimental, while others honored the deep historical and cultural roots of the area. We especially enjoyed how interactive and diverse the installations were—everything from traditional murals to modern, conceptual art. CECUT is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the heart and soul of Tijuana. Whether you’re into music, art, shopping, or simply exploring, it offers something for everyone.

I want to rate the Cultural Center higher, but as a whole, it needs some love and care and money put into it. The signs in the botanical garden have been highly vandalized and the statues are plastic replicas. The art exhibit in The Cube was really interesting though and I do recommend it. For $5/person it's a great deal and totally worth it.

It’s a very nice museum with fascinating architecture and a clear, engaging presentation of history — from cave people to the U.S.–Mexico War. The photography exhibitions were excellent, especially the photos about the U.S.–Mexico border.

Fascinating walk through the history of the Baja California peninsula from the Age of Discovery to the Second World War. Again, the US is the aggressor. I was most interested in the models of ships and diorama. I used to make those.

This place is so nicely setup inside. The pottery exhibits are extremely impressive. Could do with a bit more upkeep on the exterior.

Attended the Binational Conference of Social Work Post-Pandemic. Excellent location on a Friday. Vendors galore set up all day with food, can lots more. So much fun. It is across from a beautiful mall. Lots of traffic as there is a turn circle, be careful. I enjoyed the cultural experience. Very friendly people and helpful all around. Will go again. The exit at the border was about an hour, so be patient, and go with a buddy for company and to chat with a long the way. Remember your passport.

The play was great, but the theater needs to be more organized, we were standing in line for over an hr waiting in line to watch a play. The ushers have no control. Others just floked and ignored the line.

Great little Mercado in Tijuana. Candies, clothes and other goods.

Don't come here looking for a tourist oriented market with food and drinks. They have plenty of household items, snacks, sweets, souveniers, and dust collectors, but most impressive is the array of local/regional goods for home cooking. For me, the wide range of dried chile peppers that I can't get in the U.S. for making special sauces was the trick. The amazing selection of cheeses and mole sauces/pastes made me drool and wish I could bring some back to the U.S.

A beautiful, vibrant market place close to Avenido de Revolucion. Cheeses, candy, moles, piñatas, toys, shoes, games. It's a little hectic getting there and it's a little hidden but trust Google maps and you'll find it. It's work checking out.

It's a small mercado, but you can find a wide variety of products. The candy and cheese selection are something to keep your eye on. There are also a couple of boticas that offer some traditional products in the back.
