It's a simple yet beautiful old mission that's worth walking to from town. You can cross a pedestrian bridge/dam and walk up beautiful trails to the mission. It's only 10 min from the bus stop when walking. A nice lady let us into the dormitory of the mission and up onto the roof (through some tunnels full of bird poop). The view from the roof was astounding.

Driving through Mexico on a cross continent motorbike trip and had to stop and see the famous church built by Eifel. It is an interesting stop as most churches around here are the old brick a mortar style. This Church reminds me of a quansent like we would in Canada as a shop, it has steel frame, and steel walls. It's definitely worth stopping and taking a look at it, and the story behind it is pretty cool

Stunning experience and a truly impressive operation. Don’t think twice to do this trip with these guys. We just visited with 6 family in 3 generations, age 13 to 80’s. None of us can think of a single thing that could have been better. The whale watching was the focus and incredible- we interacted closely with whales every single day. Boat drivers and guides mean everything, and these are so skilled. And the camp experience, from cozy cabins and daily happy hours to hot showers and local simple delicious food, fit the vibe perfectly. The camp staff are local and quick to laugh, most are family, and they clearly love making things great for their clients. Our group has done a lot of traveling and we’ve seen lots of whales. This still blew our minds. Go.

If you want an incredible up close experience with the grey whales who come to San Ignacio Bay to have their calves, and then raise them until they are strong enough to make the journey northward back to the Bering Strait or other colder water, come to this rustic camp along the shore of the Bay. The accommodations are very simple, and the food is far from gourmet, but the experience and the quality, passion and heart of the people who work here is outstanding. You will see whales, touch whales, even perhaps (as I did) kiss whales. The mothers seem to want to push their babies over to you, perhaps to socialize them. We found that children's voices and laughter drew them to our boat more than any other sound, including various types of music we played and cooing and other sounds we made. You feel so close to these animals here, and you learn about them, their habits and habitats, and what their life has been over the centuries, and the way human beings have treated them. It's a fascinating experience and a privilege to enjoy it, even once.

Watching gray whales play around the boat is some of the most amazing wild animal encounters I've ever had. Baja Ecotours made that experience even more enjoyable. The guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. They were very respectful of the whales personal space and let the whales approach on their terms. The food was top notch. I really enjoyed the whole experience.

The most incredible experience I've ever had, an incredibly beautiful and remote place, where the connection with nature and other people is impossible not to happen. It has been 19 years since my husband and I had an adventure of a lifetime. The thrill of petting a whale has to be an experience not to be forgotten. Camp was comfortable and food great. Wish I was 19 years younger and I would go again!

We used Baja Ecotours to swim with sea lions and see the grey whales feeding and courting near Magdalena Is. Both were incredible biological events. A great bonus is all the fish in addition to the sea lions. At times you are swimming in huge schools of them and there is a great diversity of them as well. We went to their brand new whale trip out of a small fishing village and saw the whales doing it all - spy hopping(right beside the boat), breaching, feeding, right beside the boat, under the boat& more. The company is very professional and gave a discount when they had an engine problem on the way back. Our guides were exceptional- very well informed and talkative. Both trips were very educational.

Located on main highway 1, a few minutes out of town. Plenty of parking, bar, restaurant, toilets & souvenirs. Didn't eat but reportedly good food. Staff respectful and attentive in tours. I had difficulty understanding the English but that was me. See the separate salt Exportadora (salt ponds and processing) only on low wind days. Operations stop when windy and you will see everything again if you do the whale watching tour.

We had an amazing whale watching adventure with Mario's tours going out on two separate days for gray whale watching. Their museum is a lovely introduction to what you're going to see and their briefing is thorough and informative. I appreciate that they don't chase the whales and they let the whales come to the boat. I also liked the stop at the giant salt pile on the way out.

I had a wonderful experience with this company. Went on a whale watch two times and both were very different. One ride cost $50, you jump in a boat of 12 passengers. It’s not ideal to have some freedom running from side to side of a boat, but you see and touch plenty! Our first day the water was flat and whales were very interactive. Two or three at the time. Second day the water was rough and because of it whales were not very communicative, yet still had luck to see and pet them. I made an appointment over WhatsApp (contact is on the website). They responded relatively fast. Hat, gloves, sunscreen, glasses must have. They will give you a waterproof poncho if needed (when the water is rough take it!). If you are camping or RV, they have a space for you too!

This is the 3rd time booking with Mario's Tours and without a doubt they have always come through. Our captain was Tito and did an exceptional job putting us on whales. this tour was everything we had hoped it would be. we spent lots of time out on the water and when we finally had our encounter with the whales coming right up to the boat, it seemed to last for so long! dream come true. I will warn that if you are like me and you get sea sick, one dose of bonine or whatever you take for it may not be enough. Take extra with you to take another dose during the tour. This region gets very windy, which makes the water extremely choppy. it’s sooooooo worth it, though!

Our boat skipper knew just where to go and sure enough, after a short wait a mother and calf approached our boat and interacted with our group for 15-20 minutes. Such an amazing park! Stunning views and excellent campgrounds. Not too crowded and not too built up. You really feel like you're out there. Bring everything you need there are no stores to buy anything for nearly an hour before you get into the park!

This is a really cool spot to see the geyser! It is not the cleanest spot in the world, but it was well worth it just looking for some time and seeing the waves turn into the geyser. There were shops and markets everywhere and you could find anything you needed here. I will definitely be coming back to see it. The geyser goes off ever couple of minutes cause of the waves, some will be larger and some smaller, but I definitely got some water on me, haha!

A great place to visit! You’ll find delicious Mexican-style fish tacos — absolutely worth trying. The drinks are excellent too; for example, the Piña Colada is a must. Don’t miss seeing the blowhole, and taking pictures in front of the **Ensenada** with this spot la bufadora sign is an amazing experience!

I am not sure how my experience compares to a cruise shore excursion but in my opinion it is not worth going to. It was about an hour drive outside of Ensenada. When I arrived I had to park at the top of the hill which cost 50 pesos, so relatively affordable. As soon as you start walking down hill, which takes about ten minutes, you are hit with vendors trying to sell you things. There are maybe 50-100 vendors trying to sell you anything from illicit items to trinkets to food. I did end up buying a couple items from a shop that wasn't pushy. When I got to the bottom there was a 360 camera you could rent as well as a drone. I'm not sure how either of those worked as I just went to the regular viewing platform. The reason I was disappointed is because you can see water flying upwards and hear the noise, but you can't actually see any hole. You just see water flying up, which I can do elsewhere on the western coast with a rocky shoreline during king tides. It was cool to visit once, but I spent maybe 5 minutes before leaving. If it wasn't so far from Ensenada it would probably be worth visiting.

Hello everyone, if you guys are ever in the Ensenada area and never been to the "La Bufadora " blow hole you guys need to come see this natural phenomenon. Its pretty cool. I will say that now its been terra formed and its a tourist attraction with lots of vendors selling you everything. If that is not your cup of tea then you might want to avoid it. Since its a tourist attraction of course its very expensive and tourist busses from drop folks off from the ship cruises. I would now that you know this plan accordingly and enjoy. There are restaurants, vendors can almost sell you anything for a price.. Have fun my brothers and sisters.

Its a unique experience to watch the geysers. Its hard to miss them, as they go off every 1-2 minutes, atleast when we went. Its also a cool location for some photos

No, *this!* Also, why aren’t you tipping me for breathing near you?” It was like strolling through a scenic maze of aggressive sales pitches. I swear, if one more stall owner shouted “Special price just for you!” I was going to hand them Monopoly money and see if they noticed. Tipping culture here? Wild. It’s like they heard about tips once in a dream but missed the part where it’s optional and for *good service*, not just for existing in the same zip code. Restrooms? Spotless! But entry might cost you up to \$1, so I hope your bladder carries spare change. It’s the first time I’ve peed and felt like I was at a vending machine. As for the prices—rumored to be “cheaper” than back home? Lies. Some things were California-level expensive, and I’m 99% sure they were charging me the “you look like you don’t haggle” rate. All in all, it *was* a beautiful place to see… once. Just once. I’ve had my fill of scenic views, unsolicited trinkets, and \$1 bathroom adventures.

Interesting place with amazing scenery. The vendors are very pushy though. I went on a Monday morning and there were not a lot of other tourists there so all of the vendor's attention seemed to be focused on my friends and I lol.

Very interesting place with beautiful old architecture and relaxing gardens decorated for Christmas. Some people bring their dogs here and many couples enjoy the romantic setting.

When visiting Ensenada we recommend this Great historic location just a short walk from the docks. The grounds are in lovely condition with ample well maintained sidewalks and patios. Inside the property reflects the charm and history of the area with access to a number of large rooms, ballrooms and a spacious courtyard, complete with local vendors offing their goods. It’s safe, clean, well maintained and free!

Beautiful place full of memories and history, you can almost hear the stories echo in the areas you can visit. I loved the painted ceilings, the place to have a drink after exploring. Shame the beautiful tiled fountains did not work.

Absolutely delicious! Super fresh ingredients, fast and friendly service. The shrimp tostada had the perfect flavor. Variety of salsa- super spicy to a basic pico. Loved every minute of it. Will come again.

The marlin taco was outstanding and an incredibly unique flavour and texture that I've never encountered before. The margaritas were super tasty and pack quite a punch! If you're a lightweight you may want to split this with someone as it'll likely knock you off your feet otherwise. We will definitely be coming back!

The fish tacos were fresh and delicious. The service was quick and our waiter, Francisco, was helpful, kind, and very funny. The cruise ship shuttle dropped us off in downtown and this restaurant was a very short walk from that spot.

Even though i can’t really rate the wine because im a minor (and can’t drink for obvious reasons) the tour the workers gave was really cool. The good thing is that because minors don’t get to drink they also don’t have to pay for the tour. Very interesting experience. Gives details of how wine making got starting in Baja, Mexico. If you're in the area and like museums, you should check it out. The place provides wine tasting and has a large assortment of wines. There is also a mini coffee and gift ship in the back. There are cheeses to try, and the Popsicles are great for the hot weather.

El Museo de Vino is a great museum on the history of wine, first from Georgia (Europe) and then the history of wine making in Baja California. Very informative, lots to learn and see about the earliest production of wine around the world. Also, lots of art - paintings and ceramic pieces with and without a wine theme. Spent two hours here and it was worth it.

If you go to the area then you want to check out this museum. Not super entertaining but you learn a couple of things. We paid for the degustation wine taste but the guy was busy for 20 mins with another customer so we didn't benefit of the extra payment. Good views and interesting architecture though

It's a great place to find out how Mexican wine country began. Plenty of old artifacts from vineyards and plenty of information about the soil, grapes, and the vineyards in the area. The museum has jaw dropping views of the vineyard behind it. The museum would be a great venue for big art events or private parties with their second floor event space. Nice museum, very clean, but small and you have to pay to get in. It can easily be toured in an hour. So if you're nearby, visiting the wineries, this can be a nice little stop to take a short break and get a few photos.

Visited Thursday, July 24 – Monte Xanic is a must for wine lovers! We did the Aromas and Flavors experience, which included a beautiful tour of the winery, a fun tasting game where we guessed ingredients by taste and smell, and a delicious cheese board to pair with the wines. The experience was playful, relaxing, and set against the backdrop of stunning vineyard views. Sip local. Support local.

I never would have imagine a winery like this in the middle of the Mexican dessert. This place has everything and I would dare to say is at par or better than most Napa/Sonoma wineries. The views, the service, the wine, the attention to details, the different games to make the tasting experience better, the tapas, the knowledge of the people, all made for an elevated experience surpassing the best wineries in other regions. We went with the blind wine tasting and the personnel made the whole thing super interesting, fun and educative. I have never seen this in other wineries. And we learned that the winery has other experiences depending on your group. The wine was superb. Their reserve was our favorite. While not cheap, compared to others, it was completely worth it. This is one of those places to visit when visiting Valle.

Loved the winery. It's a beautiful property and our guide Abril was great. You do need a reservation though. Tried to come here a year ago and was turned away at the gate. This time we had a reservation and tried some very good to great wines, for a tour of the winery, and were able to enjoy time just hanging out there. At the end they let us keep our wine glasses. The Gran Ricardo wine has some hype to it; tried it and it is worth it. Ended up taking a bottle home.

They were able to seat us on the lake, which was amazing. Super refreshing and relaxing. their Sauvignon Blanc was delicious and service was great.

We got there having no reservations. We were allowed to the lower side of the winery, next to the lake- which is great too! It’s quiet, relaxing, the wines are great. Try the cabernet with the bread options. You will love it here!

What an incredible place. Monte Xanic was our favorite winery we visited in the area by far. Not only was the wine superb, and the views stunning, but our tour guide / wine tasting “guru” -Sara, really knew her stuff. She truly knew how to describe wine in a way that made us want to buy all of the bottles in the winery. The wine in an of itself though tasted delicious all the way down the line (I think we tried all of the ones on the tasting menu, plus the ones they served by the glass - ha!!) it’s also really cool to note that this winery was truly started by Mexicans for Mexicans which made it feel like a truly “Mexican wine” experience which I think is what we wanted to go for when we came to the area. We highly recommend this winery and we will definitely be back. Thanks Sara for being the perfect guide! Next time we come back, I hope you’re managing the place!! 😊

The atmosphere was beautiful and the entrance as well. There was a food truck with some interesting offerings, but I must say that this wine is very flat though it goes in full. Every glass of wine I had, had no bottom and I tried four different ones. This was actually the worst wine I have ever had. I'm sorry to say this because the service was excellent!

Relaxing winery with some relaxing patio area. The food truck got some food that I did not try yet. It is a well visited winery. We were able to relax and even do some art.

Only one tasting option available, and it doesn’t include any history or background about the winery. Out of the four wines, three are red and you have no choice in the lineup. The service was disappointing, the person who greeted us didn’t seem to care at all. Overall, not worth the visit. Avoid this spot; there are plenty of other wineries in the valley that offer better wine, service, and experiences.

Went for a quick Degustacion or wine tasting. We thought all the wines we had where solid. I preferred the Miguel. Service was nice and speedy.

Hidden gem in valle de guadalupe. Takes walk ins. The wine is 8/10 - 9/10. The place is gorgeous. Great for a wine sample and snacks. Would recommend 100%. Has horse back riding.

Lovely and tranquil environment. Excellent food. I found most of the red wine I tried to be a bit too tannic for my taste...but I'm not an expert. In our group the Sauvignon Blanc was a hit. The outdoor kitchen with the Santa Maria grill and wood fired oven delivers some amazing food and is interesting to watch and enjoy.

What unforgettable experience! Blessed to have the chance to visit this winery at the Valle. Felt exclusive and safe area. I went with a group of friends and we did a 5 wine tasting with a charcuterie board.

The ambience was perfect. The Catch Of The Day meal was perfect. The staff was excellent. The white wine was flavorless and unpalatable. They refused to replace it. Ordered a bottle of the Cabernet. Very good wine. Would definitely return, but taste the wine before ordering a bottle.

Some of the wine is very good. All of it is at least good, probably better. We were here in 2018, and then again recently in July 2025. Some things have changed, and I think for the better. One thing that has not changed is the stunning view from the "tasting deck." It simply cannot be beat. (Monte Xanic rivals, but does not beat it.) Another thing that has not changed is that the staff are just not as good as the wine. I cannot put my finger on it, but it kinda feels like they don't actually care as much as the people at our favorite places (which are all family operated).

One of the BEST wineries and places at Valle de Guadalupe! The quality of the wine is top notch, the terrace has a GREAT vibe, the restaurant is delicious. Truly great experience, definitely recommend it.

This place has a great view and super friendly staff! Definitely recommend getting a cheese board here with your wine. Oh and they have a puppy roaming around and a few other dogs that made it even more comfortable like being at home.

I would have loved to stay longer in this place, the vineyard is beautiful, we made a reservation to eat, our dishes and drinks were delicious, but we had more activities planned and we couldn't stay that long to see the whole place, I hope to return soon.

Came here in the afternoon. The tables are set up to be perfect shaded at that time of day. Fantastic wine. Setting has views of the valley. Service top notch. Food was phenomenal. Very welcoming for those with kids.

Wines were exquisite. The charcuterie board has an assortment of cheeses dates and sausage along with warm bread. It's definitely a must to try. The staff is very knowledgeable in regards to the wines. And offered great recommendations. I did the mixta wine testing I bought 2 wine bottles, my friend bought 4 and sister bought 2. We will definitely be back. Oh and the view, gorgeous.

Just left this Vineyard and while the food and wine are good, the experience we just had while receiving a complimentary wine tour was atrocious. We had the unpleasant experience of having a female Spaniard tour guide that was completely rude. We spoke to the manager and she was delightful. Please beware when you go and if you have the misfortune of getting that female, skip the tour or wait for another tour guide if available.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Decantos Vinicola! The views from their location are stellar. We had a couple of glasses of wine each, and we purchased one of theirs pizzas. The wines were excellent, and the pizza was above average. Prices were very fair.

Took a family trip down to Ensénada to celebrate Memorial Day and also as an early birthday trip for myself. Never been wine tasting in Mexico but the misses keeps talking about it, so here was my change. This was the final local on our multi stop tour and we were delighted by the experience. The staff was friendly and attentive. They made sure we had everything we needed and what wines worked best with our food selection. All the staff was masked up and kept a solid distance to meet Covid-19 guidelines for the venue. The location has great views of the wine valley and several spots for a photo opt or two. Definitely will come back again.

Happened to stumble upon this attraction completely by chance and fell in love. It was true Americana desert art. There's an element of chaos, but somehow everything seems like it's exactly where it should be. This collection of oddities is undoubtedly unique. With its proximity to the highest, I highly suggest stopping off, taking a look, and snapping a couple pics.

Honestly could not resist this. To fun. Coyote was entertaining and spoke with us a while and even created some alien rocks for us (free). Unique side of the road attraction that fits a open mind and heart.

We drove past this on our way to the Desert Watchtower. Very interesting and humorous collection of artifacts and stuff.

This place was very informative, and to think we almost missed it on the freeway. To be honest, we had a great time talking to the host and learning about the history behind the tower. Afterward, we spent an hour and a half exploring the huge rocks while encountering new creatures around every corner that had been carved into the very rocks we were climbing under and over. Do not get discouraged by the hills. Have eyes vibe the road taking you there provokes. What waits at the end is truly worth the ride. This diamond in the rough, hidden on the side of the road, needs to be seen and remembered

A very interesting landmark and viewpoint outside of the San Diego city borders. Went here because I wanted to see something different, and surely found that. The price of admission is worth the view alone, and you can go to the boulder park. Be prepared for strong gusts and strong sunlight, you're basically in the desert here. The owner is in for an interesting chat, and has some lovely pet dogs. If you like to travel back to San Diego from here, try old highway 80, it's a more scenic experience than just travelling the regular highway.

Google maps list the hours of operation as open until 1800. But the locals living near the tower will tell you it closes at 1700. You can still see the outside of the tower but the gift shoppe will be closed after 1700 (5pm). There are walking paths in the boulders behind the tower and a red box for cash donations. The people residing up there have many dogs, guineafowls, and I saw a peacock. There is an older couple that sit outside their travel trailer and watch visitors. They don’t wave or express any hospitality, they just watch you - creepy. The tower is awesome, and the view is majestic. It is worth the stop.

Amazing trip, well worth a visit. £9.50 entrance fee per person which really isn’t much to keep such an iconic space open. Lots to look at, interesting books and amazing bolder garden!!

I had searched maps for a fun adventure to take the kids. They each said hands down this was the best place yet! We were too late to view inside the tower - closes at 5, and we were 15 min late, but a guy showed up and said we could tour the rock caves. I'm grateful he clarified that. Thank you for allowing my grandbabies some fun and amazing memories.

Erin was an amazing teacher and guide—always checking in, offering clear and relatable advice, and making sure I felt confident every step of the way. Before I knew it, I was galloping along the stunning shores of Mexico! 😍 I’ll definitely be visiting them again soon, and now I’m inspired to find a place closer to home to keep the magic going✨

This was the BEST experience ever!! My roommate and I did this excursion based off a recommendation and it did not disappoint! The trail was BEAUTIFUL and Erin was the sweetest guide ever. She took tons of pictures for us which I’ll attach below and she gave us so much guidance. She speaks English so it’s super easy to communicate if that’s something you’re worried about. She also lets you run the horses on the beach which is unlike any other experience. Highly highly recommend! Such a treat for your visit to Ensenada.

Great place to go horseback riding in Baja. Jose and his team are wonderful and the horses are great. Some of the people in my group were first time riders, while some were more advanced. Everyone had a great time.

Probably one of our best horse excursions ever. Horses are all healthy and well loved, team is awesome. We were able to all ride at speeds comfortable for us. We will be back for sure! Not to mention they take incredible photos

Highlight of our trip to Rosarito! José and his crew were so friendly and helpful. We took a beautiful trail to the beach and galloped beside the ocean. We had a group of 4, and a couple joined so it felt like a very personal experience. Pictures and videos were taken during the whole ride and given to us afterwards. Overall would highly recommend booking with José.

We are two for two in awesome experiences with Erin and Jose. We e only been to Ensenada twice, and the family has chosen this experience both times. It’s not your basic trail ride. While it starts with a trail ride, you head to the beach where they let you loose to ride at your pace/ability. One daughter just walks along the waves, while my other daughter and I get ours racing in a flat out run along the beach. The second time we had a bit more time in Ensenada, so Erin planned an incredibly special food and drink experience. Could not have enjoyed our time more.

Very nice museum with a lot to look at. It was nice to be able to go into and explore the old trains. They also have multiple trains out back to "look" at. Great fun for the family. Train ride was pretty cool. It was a hot day, but when the train is moving, you get a lot of air circulation.

My wife and I got there not too early and still had time to ride the train. The customer service is excellent. There was a gentleman giving information about the history of the area and the railroad. The museum is kept in excellent condition, super clean. The gift shop is well supplied and the prices are very ok. We'll be back soon.

This place was a great place to take the kids, seems that the new gift shop attendant isn't friendly nor customer service oriented. This is a fun Plato go old or young. The train ride is not long but it is a beautiful area to see. The out and back trip takes about 30-40 minutes. If you like trains the museum has a lot of things to see.

Celebrated our son’s 2nd birthday here! Was nice and quiet, we had the whole place to ourselves! This was perfect for family , also because our 5 year old has mental disability (autism non verbal) , we had a great time! Rich history! Wear your boots ! Bring sunscreen! Bathrooms were all clean !

If you love trains or just like history this is a great place to visit. Lots of little experiences that your kids will probably not get anywhere else. We got to stand and look out a train car while going down the track. See the train engine pushing the cars we were on and stand on the very end of the train as it chugged down the tracks. Very cool

So much fun!! The volunteers are friendly and inviting. The train ride was a blast & we can't wait to visit again. A smooth 45 minute ride through beautiful rolling hills with Big Band music playing overhead, gave us us a rare glimpse into its history. We saw horses, cows, and hawks in an area most people don't get to see. Like them on social media & you'll receive $5 off! Children under 3 ride for free. Tons of free parking.

My daughter and I are here again after a few years and it never disappoints! If you’re looking for a glitzy, high-end spa experience the ranch may not be your cup of tea but it suits us perfectly. The grounds are serene and beautifully maintained, the food is wonderful and the staff bends over backwards to make your time here memorable. We love the earthiness and serenity of it. Even if we had unlimited funds, we would choose RLP to go to. I highly recommend it.

It’s our first time here and I’m absolutely in love. Service is amazing, and everyone you see guest or staff, is inevitably happy. There is an earthiness and authenticity about this place. It may not be the most modern and fancy, but certainly very charming and serene. Every corner of this place is impeccably maintained. It does not look aged or outdated at all for being 85 years old. It seems to just bring peace when you are here. The classes are also great, instructors are consistently high quality. For other reviews that mention the negatives, to be fair, yes you can hear some traffic on the side of the resort near the road. But it didn’t bother me and our villa is on the other side facing the mountain so it’s very quiet. The food I’d give a 7 out of 10. I’m not vegetarian so that could be a factor. Lunch options are typically salad, sautéed veggies and a soup, maybe a fish taco. Dinners sit-down coursed style but I wish there is more variety in the seafood offered. It’s mostly just white fish. I have not been wowed by the food but it certainly is not unpleasant.

RLP is food for your soul. Treat yourself. It can be hiking and workout classes or spa treatments and relaxing or meditative and healing the mind and body. There are so many options that everyone’s interests are met. Water Dance/Therapy was my favorite. Worth checking out

This was our second visit for a week at the ranch. I did not expect it to be as overwhelmingly wonderful as the first time, but to my surprise it was. This is a very special place with wonderful people both attending us and attending the ranch. It is a visual, physical, and emotional Feast.
