(Translated by Google) I had not returned to the gym for many years, however I see that it has not received important updates, worthy of a city like Delicias if they added some very austere stands, only to receive greater entries, the stands that already existed only placed buttocks, it has the same board from the 90s and the floor is not properly treated, I admit that they put toilets in, otherwise I think it is behind the times, remember that in Delicias Basket Ball was played in all the schools and they left it for football now which is cheaper, I think they should bet on youth Basket Ball, the Pioneers I see that they contributed to the facilities and left nothing.

Sights & Landmarks
Muy bonita. Amazing place to be with the surrounding mountains. The bridge is pretty cool. Going into the mine was even better. The road from the main highway is gravel then changes to a stone road for about 1-2 km one way only. One of the best tourists attractions I have been too.
Sony R — Google review
Puente de Ojuela and Mapimí are the must see attractions in Durango. I have been to Mapimí many times and have made many friends there. The people are so friendly. They will invite you into their homes. The place is very historical. It was one of the most prosperous places in the region due to the gold mine. Well-worth a visit. You can do it on public transport from Gómez Palacio.

Galerías Laguna

Mentioned on

Shopping mall
Shopping
Galerías Laguna is a spacious shopping center located in Torreon, bustling with numerous anchor stores and a diverse range of shops, including a pet store and several phone outlets. The mall boasts an appealing seasonal decor and the staff is friendly. Surprisingly, visitors are required to pay 22 pesos (approximately one dollar) for up to 12 hours of parking. Situated in a popular area, this modern mall houses various establishments like Liverpool and Sears as its main attractions.
Great place for shopping. It's a mall. As you know its more expensive. Nice stores. It does have much better chain restaurants than a normal mall.
Zeke N — Google review
A large shopping center with several anchor stores. They have things for everybody and a nice selection of different stores including a pet store and three or four stores for phone stuff. Always something to see they decorate very nicely for the season and the staff is very pleasant. It's kind of surprising to me but people accepted here that you have to pay 22 pesos to park for up to 12 hours. That's about a dollar.
Bill B — Google review
They tried to charge us USD 120 for cleaning the windows, and $300 for wheel cleaning. The man in the photo was attempting to scam my family and me.
Joseph V — Google review
The mall is very cleaning and just beware in the parking lot if they offer you car wash. We got scammed and can’t believe it happened to us. The original price was $230.00 peso Mex and they were explaining to my husband the service they going to do they were only cleaning the outside of the car. When we returned and it was time to pay they we’re changing $2,800 Mex peso in U.S dollar $168.95 was in shock the 2 guys who cleaned the car would not let us go. They drop the price down $2,400.00 pesos we refused to pay they reduced the price to $2000 pesos and than to $1000 pesos and I want to pay the original price and they reduced the price down to $700.00 peso and we left and file a complaint to the mall and the security guard helps us and we were able to talk to owner and he was very upset and he talk to his employees and they were suspended for 3 days and we received a full refund. Just beware and if they tell you the price and you come back with a different price do’t pay them pay the original price and tell them you going to complain to owner and the mall. The owner was very professional and unfortunately the employees are hurting the business with this type of scam
Marissa V — Google review

The theater doesn't actually have parking so you have to park on the street wherever you can find a spot. The seats are crammed, you will be sitting with your knee against someone else's back. Wow! Amazing place in Terrion. You can pray. You can watch the whole city. You can meet the flying horse.

An unforgettable experience! Taking the teleferic in the evening was absolutely magical—the whole city lit up beneath us, with panoramic views stretching as far as the eye could see. The ride itself was smooth and relaxing, and the atmosphere at sunset made it even more special. It’s the perfect way to see the city from a different perspective and enjoy a peaceful moment above the hustle and bustle. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting—you won’t regret it!
Stefan B — Google review
What an awesome place. I really like the peace you feel inside the church and how much thought have been put into the making of the cite. Still work to be done and they seem to be working on it. I fully Recommend this place to have a better look of the statue and for a panoramic view of the city. Loved it.

A simple reminder of how small we are between the stars. It's a beautiful view, has a restaurant for a couples date night, and dinosaurs for the kiddos. There is a lot of walking up there stairs so wear comfortable shoes and bring some water.
Cookie H — Google review
Very nice! Price was about $3 for two people and the trip took about 10 minutes. Very nice view and I have been on other cable cars and it was not near as scary as some of the others that I have been on in the past. It provides a wonderful Vista of the entire city and is a nice experience. The cars hold up to 8 people and slow down significantly so you can get in. I highly recommend a trip up the teleferico if you are in Torreon.
Bill B — Google review
Great fun for the whole family. Only 30 pesos for adults and 15 pesos for children and senior citizens. You catch the cable car downtown and take the ride up to the top of the mountain. It takes only about 5 minutes. It gives you a great view of the whole city of Torreon. You can see for many miles in all directions in a clear day.

Museo de los Metales

Museum
Specialty Museums
Nestled in Torreón, the Museo de los Metales is a fascinating destination that showcases the rich history and science behind metal production. Operated by one of Mexico's leading metal companies, this museum offers an insightful glimpse into industrial processes and the significance of metals in shaping the region. With over 2,000 employees working tirelessly at this site, visitors can appreciate both the scale and importance of this industry to Torreón’s foundation.
Very nice museum presented by one of the biggest metal producing companies in Mexico they must have over 2,000 employees round-the-clock at this site. The museum was well-thought-out very very clean and very good explanations. The guard also acting as a guide spoke no English but was very accommodating even if you don't speak Spanish this would be a interesting side trip if you're in the Torreon area. Paseo del Viejo Oeste

Theme park
Sights & Landmarks
Historic Walking Areas
Paseo del Viejo Oeste is a theme park where actors perform various entertainments, involving guests on the set of a Western movie. This recommended attraction offers shows at 1:30 and 3:30, with the Christmas-themed performance during the festive season being particularly enjoyable and humorous. In addition to the shows, there are numerous restaurants and souvenir shops available. The shops are situated in teepees as well as old-fashioned buildings, adding to the authentic atmosphere.
Someone recommended this little place and we gave it a try. They have a show, one starts at 1:30 & the next one is at 3:30. Since it was during Christmas, the show they put on was based on Christmas and it was quite good, made us laugh and we enjoyed it. They have a lot of restaurants and souvenir shops too. We had the most amazing mezcal in jarritos, it was delicious. Some of the shops are located in teepees and other are in old building kind of style. I would highly recommend and would definitely go more than once.

Great for tourists! Came for a weekday. There are only acting shows on the weekends, but it is cheaper to come during the weekdays. Food was pricey, but worth a try. Great atmosphere all around.

It's a great place to spend a few hours with the family. The live show was humorous. Lot's of places to eat and drink.

Great place to experience a bit of the Wild West up close! They have three shows on Saturdays and Sundays, and with one entrance fee you can stay and watch all three. They only take cash, so make sure to bring some. There’s a free courtesy bus that picks you up about an hour before showtime from Plaza de Armas, right across the street from McDonald’s. The restaurants sometimes run out of food later in the day, so it’s best to arrive early for both food and good seats. For the best views, try to grab a spot on the balconies of the restaurants or the benches in the middle section. Great atmosphere, lots of fun, and definitely worth a visit! 🤠

Located about a half hour outside of Durango, DGO, Mexico, is this totally immersive, family-oriented experience for wild West aficionados. It wasn't too big to be overwhelming and tiring and not so small to be overlooked. The comedy skit is not to be missed!

A "hollywood" set of the western movies. My friend and I came early and were able to get lots of pictures before the entertainment and show began. We watched the 1:30PM show. It was fun to watch the men and women cast in the show.

The Municipal de Oriente Panteon is a fascinating site that goes beyond its primary function as a cemetery. Nestled within its grounds is the Benigno Montoya Funerary Art Museum, showcasing the remarkable works of Benigno Montoya, a renowned Mexican sculptor and church builder celebrated for his exquisite quarry sculptures. This pantheon has been in operation since the 19th century and features unique tombs that reflect stunning architectural styles.

(Translated by Google) It was customary in the times of the Viceroyalty to establish Campos Santos (they were blessed) around the temples where parishioners who died were buried, also doing so in the atriums near the altars and in catacombs, like the ones the Cathedral has here in Durango, in fact there were Campos Santos for the rich, one was where the San Ana temple is now (formerly a convent) and for the poor it was around the temple of San Juan de Analco. This was at the time when in reality the inhabitants of the “Villa del Guadiana” were not many, but as the population grew and the new Juarista Reform rules were decreed, including those of Health (1859), the need was seen to establish the pantheon and it was done on the property of Juan Nepomuceno Flores, approximately 28 hectares, who donated this extension of land the same year so that a little later it would be inaugurated under the name of Civil Pantheon (1860) and a year later work began in April 1861 with the burial of Roberto Aragón, something in which it is better not to be the first, but anyway, someone had to do it, (you can still find his tombstone). They say that in the largest cemetery in the world, the Wadi Al-Salam in Iraq, which has been in operation for 1,400 years, they have buried 5 million dead, but here in Durango the Pantheon of the East in its 150-odd years of activity, has only buried about 230 thousand people and according to what they tell us they can easily bury the same, now that if you already have your tomb there is no reason to stress. In the Pantheon of the East there are some sections such as those of the Chinese, Germans, and Israelites, but they are not completely defined except for that of the boys and girls, which is in the northeast area behind the Chapel of Rest, which dates back to 1873. Nowadays, the Pantheon of the East is administered by the municipal authority and has been modernized in many areas, but what comes to light as soon as one enters is the sophistication of the old tombs since the new ones do not even reach a marble tombstone and are really simple, but those that are from yesteryear are very elaborate, mostly carved in quarry, some large, others smaller, but all of a refined creation that impresses, and it is so much so that in the year In 2002, a funerary museum was opened to the public to visit this already very interesting area of the cemetery. The museum is called “Benigno Montoya Funerary Art Museum” in honor of the famous stonemason of those years and author of more than 100 tombs, highlighting some such as catafalques, crypts, sculptures, chapels and monuments, with more than 600 in total, with pieces of high art in their representations. As expected, there are many legends about the Pantheon of the East, but perhaps the most touching and attached to a reality is that of the “Cuca Mía”. A love story that tells the death of María del Refugio Sáenz, wife of General Gavira (yes, the same one who demolished the convent of San Antonio, temple of San Francisco and Municipal Palace) where this heartbroken man does not accept her departure and on October 17, 1918 he leaves a poem inscribed on her tomb for the beloved that says: “She was at the same time honest and beautiful, rare in a woman without fortune, like no other, affectionate, discreet like no other. Our lives melted with love in the burning fire, but the wrath attracted the one who was not conscious, and impious death came to snatch my treasure, taking away the one I adore in my absence Cuca mia. This tomb that simulates a trunk with a nest and four little birds inside, apparently crying (who knows if birds cry) for their mother, a dove lying dead at the foot of the trunk on the ground, is perhaps one of the most expressive and in fact is the only tomb signed by Benigno Montoya. The work of this master stonemason is truly great since it is present in most of the churches, temples, altars and quarries in the historic center of the city and state, the museum in his name is a fair tribute to his work.

Excellent history captured in original documents, art, and fantastic murals throughout the museum. The museum was built by a Spaniard and retails its old-world colonial charm while modern upgrades. You pay to go down to river, not good, there's only one way, cars coming back it is very dangerous, very difficult to pass. Very beautiful down at river, not much water. A few places selling drinks.

Was there during the dry season, so no waterfalls. Beautiful place to visit. Did get there late so I didn't have much time to explore. I would like to go back and hike down to the water and through the trees.

Spectacular view of the waterfalls. I wish the Durango tourism could do more to entice more people to come. Unfortunately, the entrance to this place was closed today, but my group was able to manage to get through from different entry point. I noticed others also did that, and others follow suit. The gatekeeper of the day, Señora Ramos, finally opened one of the gates to let people who got there from other entry ways to go out. Señora Ramos collected from us a fee of 50 mexican dollars each (exit fee, huh??) What a shame for her to do that to tourists. There's no proper regulations. This place is magnificent. It has a great history of how these waterfalls are created. I love its story of creation.

This is a very picturesque waterfall. A short drive from Durango and you are at an oasis in the desert. Well worth the trip.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful cathedral, it is worth it for the golden altarpiece, there is nothing else to visit so if you are passing through, visit this church, it opens at 4 pm and they are punctual, the singer Lola Beltrán is buried there.

(Translated by Google) It's certainly beautiful, but it's more hyped than it is. Renting a car to travel to nearby towns, including this one, wasn't worth it in my experience. There's really nothing to do, and you run the risk of something bad happening to you due to the lack of safety.

Unfortunately I couldn't go in and see the inside but if one day I return to the rosary I will return to try my luck and I hope to be able to see the inside, I have heard that it is beautiful.

We enjoyed the displays and the building itself was interesting too. It was very well maintained. It only cost 10 pesos per person! The best part was our very charming hostess who explained all about Lola . She is Lola's neice. She speaks pretty good english. Be sure to have lunch at Lola's birthplace which is close to the museum. A wonderful restaurant !!

(Translated by Google) Beautiful house. A dream colonial patio. Admission is quite cheap. It has few objects for my taste. But very well cared for. Very well accommodated. I highly recommend it. It also has security. Police and it is in a fairly calm part of the city. (Original) Hermosa casa. Un patio colonial de ensueño. Es bastante económica la admisión. Tiene para mi gusto pocos objetos.
