Beautiful church, it has excellent details and views. The altar is amazing, it is the most beautiful I see in my life.

(Translated by Google) It's certainly beautiful, but it's more hyped than it is. Renting a car to travel to nearby towns, including this one, wasn't worth it in my experience. There's really nothing to do, and you run the risk of something bad happening to you due to the lack of safety. (Original) Es bonita sin duda, pero es más la publicidad que le dan que lo que es en sí, rente un auto para viajar a los pueblos cercanos incluyendo este en mi experiencia no valió la pena. We enjoyed the displays and the building itself was interesting too. It was very well maintained. It only cost 10 pesos per person! The best part was our very charming hostess who explained all about Lola . She is Lola's neice. She speaks pretty good english. Be sure to have lunch at Lola's birthplace which is close to the museum. A wonderful restaurant !!

Maria's happy horses

Horseback Riding Tours
Nature & Wildlife Tours
We had the BEST experience with Sophie riding our horses on the beach. It was beautiful and serene. Rock Island seemed to be an unknown gem. We played in the ocean and ate coconut shrimp for the rest of the day. It will be a core memory for our family for sure! This is a MUST-DO on your Mazatlan adventures.
Whitney J — Google review
Great experience! I emailed a few days in advance make a reservation and I received detailed instructions on where to meet on Stone Island. It was my daughters first time riding a horse and our guide was very helpful. We walked the horses through a botanical garden and then when we got to the beach our guide let us trot and lope. The horses were well behaved and didn't bite or kick each other at all. They also seemed relatively well trained (responded well to neck reining and would go faster with a little pressure or a gentle kick). I was very impressed with the value and will definitely do this again when we come back to Mazatalan!
Steve B — Google review
Such an amazing experience! Yes you get to actually ride the horses on the beach in the water! Very hard to find. MAKE RESERVATIONS. We didn’t and we had to wait a while. It’s off the beaten path, but don’t worry, it’s safe lol. Daniella was our guide and could not be sweeter!! She pointed out all sorts of cool things on the beach as we were riding. My husbands horse was Gringo and mine was Colorado! 5 out of 5 for sure!
Brittney S — Google review
We went October 2022 to Stone Island for the day. My 2 boys and I went horseback riding with Maria's Happy Horses. The prices were fantastic and my 8 year old was able to ride. We were already at Lety's and it was a very short walk to the horses. Maria's super sweet younger nieces helped get us all set up and started. The older niece kept asking "is good?" to everyone. She really wanted to make sure everyone was doing okay. Maria's sister (La La?) showed up after a few minutes and took over for the rest of the ride. The whole family was so kind and friendly. There was a bit of a language barrier but it was just fine. It was such a neat experience. Halfway, we stopped and she took pictures with our cameras of every person and group. (No extra charge). I did tip La La at the end. But with her reaction, I don't think it was expected. But she was very grateful. Would gladly do this again and recommend it to others. Wonderful family business! This is the best excursion I have ever done! Myself and three of my friends traveled to Mazatlan through a cruise. Sophie picked us up from our cruise port and transported us to Stone Island. Stone Island was beautiful and there were not many tourists. The horses were very well trained and I felt safe throughout the entire excursion. I would 100% recommend Maria's Happy Horses to everyone! I want to go again!
Toria T — Google review
Amazing experience. Lulu took myself, partner and another rider for the 1hr ride. They knew I was an experienced rider and we had countless opportunities to canter along the beach. The horses are trained well and stick to the path and voice. Would recommend it highly. Thank you Lulu
Vanessa D — Google review
The horses were nice and great for kids. My husband's horse wouldn't go. At one point it turned around and tried going back. The guide stayed beside my 8 year old and that was fabulous They will tell you not to go to the main tourist ferry but you should. It is a very short walk down the beach, otherwise you pay for an expensive taxi, it made me feel like they had a deal with the taxi service. Other than my husband's horse and the taxi it was great
Samantha T — Google review
Great time for a great price. They were able accommodate my youngest (6 years old) and my more experienced kids (8 and 10) were able to take the horses for a gallop up and down the beach. Maria was very friendly, Spanish speaker. Sophia speaks English, French, and Spanish. I would do it again!

Gran Acuario Mazatlán

Mentioned on
1 list
Aquarium
Nature & Parks
Gran Acuario Mazatlán 'Mar de Cortés' is a modern and spacious aquarium, one of the largest in Latin America. The architecture is impressive, with beautiful gardens and wall fountains. It houses 700 fish species, an aviary, crocodiles, and other mammals. The well-kept fish tanks offer an educational and interactive experience for both kids and adults.
We did something out of our normal excursions: Went to the incredible aquarium that just opened 2 years ago… had an absolutely amazing experience. The design starts at the edge of the ocean and each room you go deeper into what it looks like and the creatures that reside at each level. Really appreciated having a tour guide who explained every exhibit and we even got to go behind the scenes to see how they keep all of the conditions to meet the needs of whatever fish/animal they have there.. they do a lot of Rescue work rehabilitating, fish, sea lions, and turtles… all the sea lions were rescued as babies, and now do the little sea lion show ! 🦭 🪼 🐟 🐠

A great time was had by all ages here! Tickets are not cheap but the animals here will fill you with wonder! About a 22 min ride from the cruise terminal. We took an Uber and it was super easy. It will definitely beat out any cruise excursion price!
J C — Google review
Nice select but parts are very run down. Majority of the "park" is outdoors, so hat and water will be helpful. If you plan ahead, your tickets will be 40% less.
Haleh O — Google review
We arrived at opening expecting a large crowd, but there was no line. We had a great visit, it took a few hours to explore but there was so much to see and experience. This is a great family site to visit and you can interact to the degree you feel comfortable. I will revisit the site in the future.
Troy G — Google review
A great place to spend a couple of hours. My husband’s favourite was feeding the rays. I thought the mini jellyfish were beautiful. It had the biggest aquarium I’ve ever seen. Fun for adults and kids. The two people who put on the bird show at 1 o’clock were super fun. It was really cool when they had the parrot fly over the crowd, hitting them with its wings on the way by. On the way
Rae G — Google review
My wife and I (30yrs old) went to the aquarium date on a Tuesday and there was no line, very polite and happy staff. 😊 There is plenty to walk around and see many shows and interactions. We had lunch at the burger tank (tbh wouldn't recommend even with 20% off - try something else) The best part was my personal connection to penguins 🐧🐧🐧 because my grandma loves them. We saw many cool things and took a lot of great pics of reptiles and birds🐾🐊🦢🌵 and went to the bird cage.🦜 I would recommend this aquarium is interesting and a great place for learning and family. We walked the whole lot and spent most of our day! YAY THANKS EVERYONE 😊
Mike R — Google review
Great aquarium. Price a little high. Still had a good time.
John L — Google review
The exterior of the aquarium is beautiful, the grounds are impeccable. Once you enter the building, it is a little disappointing. The isn't really much to see Inside beside a LOT of fish. The most disappointing aspect was the fact that here we are in Mexico, and ALL the coral in the tanks is fake (plastic), how can this be, why is there not real coral!!!!

Located in the heart of Mazatlan, Mexico, Pino Suarez Mazatlan Market has been a lively hub since 1900. This bustling indoor marketplace is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse array of offerings. Visitors can explore an assortment of locally sourced produce, fresh seafood, handcrafted items, and clothing. The market provides an immersive experience into the rich cultural tapestry of Mazatlan, allowing guests to indulge in the sights, sounds, and flavors that define this dynamic destination.
I just love the atmosphere at this market. If you’re new to Mazatlan you need to take a visit here. The prices overall is lower than other street vendors and the vegetable are fresh. Lots of seafood, beef, pork and chicken. If you can’t find it here you won’t find it anywhere. Love this place. Also a close walk to the “Shrimp Ladies” and “Old Town and a historic church”

I think there should be a matrix like a Excel spreadsheet. A-Z and 1-15 to make it easier to locate certain stalls with in the mall... I'm going to be working on that.
Paul M — Google review
A vibrant market frequented by both local and tourists alike. We were looking for handmade local crafts which were aplenty but we decided on a store manned by Fernando, store #40 (from what i understood). Fernando has a gentle mannerism and is such a nice & polite gentleman. It also made it easier that the beautiful handmade necklaces we were looking for were displayed in a glass case, were reasonably priced & there was quite a variety to choose from. We also purchased a talavera plate and various earrings for gifts. We were very happy with the experience and our purchases.
Hopi W — Google review
Very fun to wander the stalls! Most of the stalls sold similar knick-knacks so don't be afraid to walk away from a deal and haggle with a different shop! The upstairs has several very cheap Mexican restaurants. We had smoothies from a vendor on the outside of the market that were delicious
Mark A — Google review
Located in the heart of downtown Mazitlan. It is an active place for all (even a tourist destination) to experience a traditional market of Mexico(think farmer’s market with extras). The sell everything from chicken feet to plastic toys. The tamales were fantastic …so eat there too
Deborah G — Google review
A thriving place, but you need local Pesos here
B T — Google review
I guess it’s going to depend on why you went to the market in the first place. Actual shopping because you live here or shopping for touristy gifts etc. A large selection of meats, vegetables, pastries and candies for the home. The market seems to becoming more tourist oriented every year with many booths carrying the same items. I don’t personally like being asked to buy a hat etc every 6 steps but if you’re looking for gifts you’ll find it here at a good price.
Christoffel D — Google review
If you are there for souvenirs they will hound you like I have never experienced before in 30 years of traveling to Mexico. They did not barter on prices for anyone in the group. Markets in the Golden zone did and were much more friendly.

This central mall is well designed for a great shopping experience. The parking lot is huge and easy to navigate with 3 separate entrances. It is wheelchair accessible with its multiple levels, wide open spaces. The floors are super clean, and every vendor shines on its store front windows. It's well lighted and climate cool to shop or hang out.

Not a fan of the new ‘’pay to park’’ at Gran Plaza Mall (or Galleria’s)! Typically, a shopper goes to a mall to spend money on a product or several. The very least, now that we must pay to use their huge parking lot while spending our money inside, our parking should be validated by providing our receipt from a store we purchased from! For example, like Tres Isla Mall does. Before leaving the premises, one can go to the kiosk, scan their store receipt with the parking receipt and leave. No charge! It makes much more sense to have each store operating in the mall to absorb a small percentage of the ‘’parking fee.’’ After not having a parking fee at Gran Plaza mall for the 12 years I’ve lived here F/T, what is the logic?

One of the biggest Malls around Mazatlan with a huge Game Plaza, Cinema, Casino, Restaurants, Food Court and varies stores to shop. Has one of the biggest Starbucks that I've ever seen. It gets busy though, on the weekends with families and big groups of friends coming in, that the parking gets chaotic. Nice place to visit, even just for window shopping.

Air conditioned Plaza/Mall. Lots of restaurants and stores. Lacking a Puma store. The perfume kiosks have no tester strips... pathetic.

Older mall. But has everyone you need. Plus a fun kid zone and good food court.

A hidden gem, plenty of parking, a great food court with excellent food options. I had the sushi when I was there - excellent. There is a Starbucks that is quite good. The movie theater shows up to date moves - the same ones playing in the USA/Canada. I liked it and will return.

A great way to spend an afternoon. The cathedral was pretty awesome. There is no admission charge but you can make a donation if you want. It's very close to the plaza, so you can check out the street vendors, shops and restaurants. Make sure to take small bills. One of the small street vendors wasn't able to make change for a $20 bill on a $3 purchase, not even in pesos.

We watched a guitar quartet. They performed 20 songs from around the world. They sang as well. The hall was booked to capacity for this concert. I would recommend buying tickets ASAP for the performance that interests you.

Amazing historic theatre with very comfortable and new seats. Was a little worried they'd be cramped but not at all. Wonderful viewpoint from orchestra row F where we watched the Nutcracker. The buy tickets button on the website doesn't work, but it's easy to buy tickets in person at the box office. Need to know a little Spanish but there is a screen that shows you open seats so pretty easy.

High quality art for a very affordable price. These are unique pieces crafted by 5 local artisan families. Really enjoyed the historic building that housed all the art. We purchased some ceramics and face masks that we are sure to enjoy for years to come.

Old Mazatlán Condominiums is a revitalized area that was established by Spanish conquerors in the mid-1500s. It has now become the center of Mazatlán's art scene, with elegant 19th-century buildings housing cafes, clubs, and craft galleries.
I am rarely to never inspired to write reviews of anything but we had such a lovely stay at the Old Mazatlán Inn that I feel compelled to recommend it to other travelers. Old Mazatlán Inn is located near the historic Centro of Mazatlán, it is a couple of blocks from one of the nicest beaches in the city and close to a variety of restaurants. It's nowhere near the majority of most of the hotels, meaning it's a much quieter, more genuine part of Mazatlán. The rooms are actually condos so in each unit there is everything you could possibly need - a small kitchen, a television, desk, chairs, etc. The inn is charming. A lot of attention has been paid to the decor and design of the units and the outside spaces. The terraces are one very nice feature - you can see the ocean as well as the city. As nice as all this was, the best part of our stay (and why I felt like I should write this review) is because the hosts at the Old Mazatlán Inn made us feel so comfortable and welcome. We were traveling in Mazatlán during the off season so there weren't many people staying at the Inn. I feel like it would be easy to kind of forget about us but they didn't. In fact, they went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. During our stay a tropical storm/hurricane hit Sinaloa to the north of Mazatlán so as one could imagine there was quite a bit of rain. Some of which made it's way into our room under the door (we were not surprised or upset, that's the kind of thing that happens when rain and wind are battering a condo). We were pleasantly surprised to come back from lunch and find that our room had been mopped and the water taken care of (unasked!) our hosts decided to move us into a larger unit for the issue (also, unasked). Our hosts were able to answer questions about things to do in Mazatlán and ensured that we had everything we needed during our stay. O'Neil and Jorge made our stay very pleasant and should we find ourselves in Mazatlán again, we know where we will be staying.

History Museums
The Archaeological Museum of Mazatlán is a hidden gem that invites visitors to explore the rich history of Sinaloa through its impressive collection of over 200 artifacts from pre-Hispanic cultures. Nestled in a charming late nineteenth-century mansion, this compact museum offers an intimate glimpse into the region's past. The friendly staff are always on hand to assist with any inquiries, making your visit even more enjoyable.
I hate to call this museum small, I believe compact serves so much better. The museum is focused on the history of the native Sinaloan people and their ancient traditions and way of life. My understanding is that they have a rotating exhibit in the main room, which when we were there was focused on the marshes and salt farming of the people, with the exhibit featuring images taken and/or selected by the archaeologist who created this particular exhibit. It was fascinating to learn about the people from that perspective, and I felt that the museum did a great job of focusing on the core features of that culture and making use of the space provided. The host was incredibly helpful in expanding on details we didn't quite understand. In addition, the majority of the exhibits feature written descriptions in both Spanish and English, which was very helpful for my small Spanish vocabulary. I absolutely recommend that anyone visiting with an interest in the ancient history and archaeology of this culture visit this museum. P.S. Apologies if I misremembered some of the finer details 😁

Before I got inside I was reading the placard on the wall and I was almost in tears. “Everything that cannot be recovered with money, such as the feelings linked to their homeland, the corners of memories, the tree where they met in the evenings, etc., hence the phrase of a resident displaced by the Picachos Dam, "They say they are going to pay for my house, but who is going to pay for my affections?" Affection is the attachment to that place where he was born and raised, where the umbilical cord is buried, it is part of his stories, of the place where he lived with friends, of the palm tree where he a met his first girlfriend, of the tamarind tree that was the space of coexistence, a silent witness to the stories of many generations; of the streets where he played, finally of that space that was his "place", to which he was attached, the place of identity.” I live in British Columbia, Canada. In a town in the NE of the province, right beside the just completed ‘Site C’ hydro dam. They just filled the 80 kilometer long reservoir last fall. Thus finalizing the destruction of the valley where I grew up. It was the geographical feature that defined my area of BC. I haven’t been able to actually go see the filled reservoir yet, I don’t know how I will react. I feel for these people, I have just experienced much of what they went through. I was lucky, my house was never in an area to be flooded but the once fertile valley defined who I am. A very interesting display, it highlights the pre Spanish lives led by the local Sinoloan peoples. This history needs to be remembered and taught to the local people. Well done!

I visited city centre with my friends and am very glad to have stopped at the Archeological Museum of Mazatlán. Located near the shore on a picturesque street, it is convenient to get to and near other tourist hubs. We were promptly greeted by Pedro, whose brilliant service deserves a special shoutout. Pedro provided us with a brief background to and tour of the museum, all in excellent English. We then toured the rooms independently, which included Spanish and English descriptions of all the artifacts. Everything was very fascinating, accessible, and descriptive, making for a wonderful visit. Amenities included toilets and air conditioning, convenient for us Canadian tourists who aren’t used to the spring heat. Pricing was beyond reasonable – 75 pesos per ticket (~$5.25 CAD). I highly recommend visiting this unique museum if you have a chance! Thank you :)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Yesterday, my husband and I took my father, who’s visiting, to MUSAM—the archaeological museum in Mazatlán. We weren’t sure what to expect, but we were excited to learn more about the area’s history. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by a friendly guard and then met Pedro, who truly made our visit unforgettable. Pedro was incredibly inviting and knowledgeable. He began explaining the artifacts in Spanish, but when he noticed my husband spoke English, he effortlessly switched languages. His detailed explanations brought each piece to life, and his passion for Mazatlán’s rich history was contagious. Honestly, I could have listened to his stories for hours! It was such a treat to receive that kind of personal attention and insight. We left feeling more connected to the region and will definitely be back again. Highly recommend a visit!

Entering the air-conditioned building was a great relief from the daytime heat, but the museum had much more to offer than cool air. I had a lovely time learning about the history of Mexico, from ancient symbols of wealth to sacrificial rituals to funerary traditions. Pedro gave us an interesting tour and was very welcoming overall. If you’re in or near Mazatlán, do pay this museum a visit!
Jaclyn T — Google review
The museum has some incredible displays of early life in the area. It’s inexpensive and doesn’t take long to wander through all the exhibits. Our favourite part was the very knowledgable and passionate young man who greeted us at the door, told us that if we just needed a cool place to spend some time, we are welcome to stand in the main gallery. Even without paying to see the rest. He explained the museum to us, and obviously was passionate about the history and quality of the exhibits. I am leaving this Google review just because he said it could help their museum out. I wish I’d caught his name.

Cool little museum, the person there was passionate about Mexican and Sinaloas history, Exhibits were interesting, only potential small improvement, is there were some random objects in the exhibit rooms, nevertheless it was a good experience, I would recommend.

As others have noted, this is a small museum, but interesting. We went on Sunday and had the place pretty much to ourselves, so we have lots of time to read the notes with the displays.

Deer Island, also known as Isla de Venados, is a popular destination in Mazatlan for snorkeling and beach activities. Visitors can take a short boat ride to the island and enjoy calm waters perfect for floating and swimming. While the island was once home to deer, it is now inhabited by various bird species and surrounded by abundant marine life. Snorkeling off the coast of Deer Island offers an opportunity to explore the underwater world of Mazatlan.
Just a shopping strip, nothing to miss.

Better named “Coatimundi Island”, this place isn’t as great and special as the ads make it sound. There are dozens and dozens of coati (basically oversized rats/small raccoons) that are super aggressive and try to steal your food all day. Worse than the seagulls in California. And they carry disease. The beach is just as crowded as the regular beach bc the excursion guys bring boatload after boatload of people over to it. The volleyball net is a joke; typical Mexican: rundown, unusable net and sand area is filled with rocks; not well kept at all. Bring your own ball if you want to play and move all the lounge chairs out of the way. The “kayak tour” consists of one or two kayaks you have to share with the other guests; no tour guide is taking you on the kayak to see anything special. It’s just open kayaking in the little cove area. You can do all these things from the main beach (kayaking, swimming) and on the main beach you can choose your own food for lunch and not worry about the annoying coati or being stuck on a lame island waiting for a ride back to the mainland. This excursion is a joke. Just pay a taxi driver to take you to the regular beach and save money. *note: I didn’t book this excursion through an online company; I went through an independent Mexican excursion broker at the beach but the experience would be similar for everyone on this island, whether you book it through an online company or beach side broker. (You save $$ by using a beach side broker).

El Mirador, also known as El Farro or the lighthouse, is a must-visit spot in Mazatlan offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the ocean. Accessible by a local bus and a walk along the causeway, this attraction features a moderate hike with resting areas and well-maintained trails. While there's an option to pay for the skywalk, many visitors find it unnecessary.
When in mazatlan, go to shrimp fest at this property. Booked this excursion. Such a beautiful property. Relaxed atmosphere. I ate 35 shrimp of various styles, 4 marlin flautas, couple mini burritos and beans and rice. And all the drinks you wanted. Live music on the saxophone and also a swimming pool for the kids or if you want to take a dip. Very walkable to the city or back to port.

Google just asked me to review this place so here it goes... I was mugged here on Monday night (1.15.18) Some teenage boys stole my phone right out of my hand shortly after sunset. Use extreme caution if visiting this site... especially alone at dusk. I had been there many times in the past and not had any problems so it’s unfortunate that this happened. Here are a few pics I took shortly before my phone was stolen.

I believe this is called El Farro or the lighthouse looking at everyones pics and revieves.. We were able to take a local bus very close. A walk along the causeway to the island brings you to the base of the climb. These are the only washroom for $10 at the bottom. The walk is free but they like to charge $30 for the skywalk which in my opinion is a waste of time and money. The concrete trail on the 1st part is easy, the 2nd/top part is stairs and a little more work but easy enough. It take a ½ each way with stops for photos. Bring water, good shoes and sun screen.

Come one, come all and bring a few pesos. These daredevils will dive off the cliff for money. It is quite a spectacular sight to watch. I definitely recommend a visit to this place in Mazatlan. It is on your way to the Observatory or the light house. Great stop with the family and close to El Diablo cave.

Amazing experience, Mexico needs to promote more these shows.

We were here for a day on a cruise. This was the best stop on our tour. It’s very picturesque and the cliff divers wait until there’s a crowd to watch them dive. Only negative was that they aggressively beg for tips. I’m good with tipping but give me a minute to get the money, you don’t have to stalk me like I’m about to dine and dash.

Place very nice and beautiful. There is also one place called hell where wather is bringing you inside a pit. VIEW is amazing and if there is not many people I will recommend you to take some pictures. I don't know why they are putting this place close sometimes but if is open take your chance and enjoy the view. Be careful on the rocks

This review is regarding a specific employee at the El Cid Moro. I want to thank Verenice Lopez for her amazing service. She has gone out of her way to help us and ensure we had a pleasant stay. She has always been very kind and helped us through a difficult situation. Since then she has gone above and beyond! We appreciate her so much!! Thank you Verenice for all that you do!

We had a great time at El Cid, Mazatlan. The ratings are based upon comparison of other resorts we've stayed. El Moro is a high-rise building, connected to Castilla. Super busy place for being off season. Certainly good for their business. We found the adult pool and spent much of the time there. The beach is lame. Narrow, good soft sand though, dirty and trashy. Super busy and noisy main street running next to the resort. The county club was nice. Didn't make it to the Marina. Older hotel needs a renovation. We came on a certificate, so we cannot do a price comparison.

Love this hotel! The staff is absolutely wonderful and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. A special shout-out to Jesus Salomon Lopez from the lobby bar — his service, friendliness, and attention to detail made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great hospitality and a relaxing experience!

We stayed for a week and It was very relaxing overall. The maid service was the worst part. There were days of no service and then spotty service where trash wasn't taken out, bathrooms not cleaned, beds poorly made. I had to complain multiple times to get basic service. We did have a very kind waiter in La Concha, named Luis Loaiza and he made our brunch a fun experience.Fyi...internet is $50 usd per device per week. Tey to work with the timeshare people to get a reduced rate. Also, use your certificates before you check out. We checked out then walked to La concha restaurant 2 seconds later and all that great service disappeared as if we were riff raff from the street. Despite presenting the 25$ certificate from the hotel they acted like it wasn't possible to use it bc we just checked out. Seriously? Then I had to get the help of my amazing concierge, Katrina to resolve it. It shouldn't have taken that much effort. They need to learn that proper guest/customer service is about being flexible so people feel welcome before, during and after their experience.

We stayed at mid October and our server at La Concha was amazing. He was very attentive and kind. He was very helpful with the older members of the family with assisting with their plates to avoid them falling or dropping plates. We will definitely ask for him when we return next year.

Love rhe older seasoned waiters like Francisco for breakfast is the best Nacho outside is the best. Like the private pool but wish it was heated. Lee and Diane Weber. 2523

Playa Cerritos is a hidden gem in Mazatlan, offering a quieter and more secluded beach experience compared to the bustling Malecon. This stretch of coastline is perfect for leisurely walks, sunset-watching, and even spotting people fishing along the shore. The beach features some beachside restaurants where visitors can enjoy delicious meals while soaking up the sun. Playa Cerritos also offers beautiful low tides that create sandbars and tide pools, making it an ideal spot for exploration.
As our accommodation is situated on this beach, we appreciated an evening stroll. This beach, quieter than the one near the Malecon, is an excellent spot for a leisurely walk and sunset-watching. You may spot people fishing and find a couple of bars along the way. The Riu Resort is located at the north end of the beach. While the sand is a bit coarse, some areas feature seashells. I spotted sand dollars, suggesting you might find them here too.

Playa Cerritos is a beautiful area, end of the road beach community. It has a little strip mall of stores and restaurants, 10+ for shopping & dining. There was a high end, hippie trailer park that burnt to the ground, couple years back. Wondering if they have rebuilt, yet. This an old fashion, little fishing village. The best!!!
Debbie R — Google review
Lovely stretch of beach on the North end of Mazatlan. Playa Cerritos blends into Playa Bruhas on the north. Playa Cerritos offers beautiful low tides that create sandbars and tide pools. Beware there may be jellyfish washed up on the beach. Walkable for over 2 miles. Stop in at Mr. Leonso for lunch and tequila on the north end. Sunsets are spectacular! Please scroll to the end of images for fabulous ocean videos with sound!

Got access by Marina Del Rey condominiums. Great beach for making sand castles, and enjoying the sun. Quiet. Clean. Good waves but not great for body surfing. We didn't find the water calm at all. Watch your swimmers.

Cerro del Crestón - Faro Mazatlán

Cerro del Crestón - Faro Mazatlán is a must-visit landmark offering an impressive view of Mazatlan from its hilltop lighthouse, the highest in the Americas. Accessible via a hiking trail and stairs, it's best to visit during sunrise or sunset for a more pleasant experience. The historic significance of this natural formation adds to its allure, as it used to serve as an island with a signaling system for ships.
It’s a cool place, I saw many people use it for working out. The only thing the working hours are not clear at all. Once we came at 1pm, they said it was too hot, we should return after 4pm. We came at 5:20pm and the glass bridge was already closed. Kind of inconvenient. But we were impressed by the amount of friendly cats and raccoons running around the place, very cool.

This is quite the hike! I’m 67 so it’s probably easier for younger people. We made it to the top and were rewarded with some spectacular 360 degree views of Mazatlan, Stone Island, the harbor etc. I would recommend proper shoes and some water, although water is available for purchase at the top (25 pesos). You can zip line directly to the Observatory from here! Several benches and lookouts offer rest and photo opportunities. You also get great views of the old water/treatment facilities on the way up.
Christoffel D — Google review
Go as early as you can. We got to the base entrance around 6:20am. It took us about 25 minutes to walk up to the top. I'm not in great shape and I made it with a couple rests. Keep in mind that there are 366 steps which seems daunting on the way up. If you have bad knees, they are worse on the way down. However, the view is worth the walk up. Its amazing!! Also don't bring any food, its not allowed. No dogs, either. And make sure to use the bathroom before you go up. After the entrance, there are no facilities.
Catherine M — Google review
If you plan to clim El Faro i highly recommend waiting until closing time before 5:45pm. Not only are the views great at sunset, but the stairs to the top are completely shaded from the sun. You will definitely be sweaty when you get to the top, but views are amazing all the way up. Its free as well! But they only have paid bathrooms at the entrance and not at the top.
J — Google review
What a great hike up to the lighthouse! The views were fantastic. If you plan on experiencing the skywalk, be sure to buy a ticket at the gate before you start.
Nancy L — Google review
Amazing views walking up and at the top. You need to be a little fit maybe don’t take your elderly parents. Don’t really need to do the deck I feel. If you are coming from a cruise: pretty easy to get a uber there. Cost about 40 MXN or $2ish USD. Coming back we had to wait about 15 min for an uber, there are some local drivers with the golf carts who hang around who offered $10 USD to take us back to the terminal. So we waited.

Nice view, be there early and don't foget the bottle of water

Great view. After a long ramp, about 350 steps going up. Takes about 30 minutes at slow pace.

Nestled in the vibrant city of Mazatlan, Mexico, Mazagua Water Park is a delightful destination for both kids and adults seeking a day filled with aquatic adventures. This expansive water park boasts an impressive array of attractions, including 14 thrilling water slides that promise to get your heart racing. Families can enjoy the gentle currents of the lazy river or take a dip in one of the 13 inviting pools scattered throughout the park.
This is a great waterpark, and our family really enjoyed ourselves. There are a lot of slides to keep the kids entertained, plus a toddler area. We visited on a Friday, and the park wasn't full. There were maybe 5 groups total, so no waiting in line to use the slides. We'll go back the next time we visit Mazatlan.

This place turned out great! I came to Mazatlán twice before and we avoided the water park bcs of the bad reviews but this time we decided to give it a try since someone mentioned they had recently done work on it. It turned out to be a great place for the kids, the little kids area is super cute and engaging for the little ones. I really liked all the treats we got at the food store and the cleaningness of all the areas in general. The gardens are also so well kept. We really liked it and will definitely come back next time we visit.
F. B — Google review
Cute place and nice people. Most of the food wasn't available at the time, not cool man

Fun place for the day just make sure they are open. Days vary
Carl D — Google review
Mazagua was a great place to spend the day with our under-10 kids. The kids had a blast. It is very easy to get to by local bus. There are many fun slides for all age levels, including the only 4-person slide I've ever seen. We didn't have to wait long for any rides and the staff were great. Agree with other reviewers that it could use a round of maintenance, but it didn't bother us. Be sure to bring your own towels as they do not offer towels for rent. You can purchase a towel for 250pesos. Overall, highly recommend.
