We called in here simply to fill in time on our way to our next destination, and by gosh were we glad we did. What an amazing day out. To the people who take care of this place, hats off to you. We loved looking around at all the history, got chatting to some lovely people who take care of this place. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend. Great seeing people preserving history.

An incredible experience with a very knowledgeable guide and the train ride that was ambushed by the buahrangers who ambush Monday to Friday. Fantastic venue for a wedding. Spend the day to get the most out of the experience.

Great Museum to come and visit. There is plenty of history to be found here. One can spend a couple of hours here checking out everything. Definately a must see, if one gets the chance and is in the area.
Christine B — Google review
One of the best places I’ve been too I needed way more than 90mins coming back for a second visit soon. This time starting in the morning so if I take all day brilliant. Well worth the trip and please take your time there to really enjoy the moment. So much to see and explore it’s like a whole town plus some more.
BulldogsAndDolphins — Google review
An atmospheric mix of old houses and businesses set up as they would have been and buildings housing vehicles and tools of yesteryear. Everything is really clean and in good condition. The fountain and planting are really lovely too. There are two cafes but both were closed when we got there at 1 pm on Sunday and the train wasn't going either, I think we were the only people there as we didn't see a soul for the three hours we were there, except the receptionist who was very nice. I suppose this just happens sometimes as it's staffed by volunteers so just remember to take some snacks and a drink in case. Definitely wear plenty of mosquito spray, I did and still got bitten 4 times. Big thanks to the volunteers, we learnt a lot and will remember it, it was a really good day out.
H D — Google review
We paid $15 entrance fee each into the village, and I don't think it was overpriced. A lot of care has been taken to give a real old fashioned feel to the village. Some great interesting houses with stacks of information and background. Made for a couple of enjoyable hours.
Kevin W — Google review
made my mom really happy to go there! it was so hot on the day we went so we did the tour faster but still enjoyed it. the little café has really cheap option, the jewelers are so nice and the candy shop lady as well. nice morning spent there :) definitely recommend to learn a bit of history.

Australia Zoo

Wildlife park
Australia Zoo, located just north of Beerwah, is a renowned wildlife park founded by the Irwin family. Originally established in 1970 as Beerwah Reptile and Fauna Park, it was later renamed in honor of Steve Irwin's father. The zoo boasts a diverse collection of animals from around the world, including crocodiles, tigers, dingoes, Tasmanian devils, and wombats.
A must see! Loved every second of our day there. The parking of so many vehicles was professionally executed. No lengthy queue, we were through the gates in no time with our pre- booked tickets. The show was fun to watch. We didn't take our own snacks, we were pleasantly surprised at how quick the cues for food and beverages were handled. The whole zoo was so clean and tidy. It was an amazing day out with the family.
Mandy S — Google review
Spent the entire day there! Great place to just breathe and take in all the wonders of the animal world. Very well set up and run by the happiest people on earth. Highly recommend everyone to visit. Incredible display of the Irwin families private collections. Roberts photography is amazing to see (and buy)! Fantastic day!
Joanne M — Google review
Lovely zoo, and very well maintained. Grounds are well looked after and lots of thought has been put into it's landscape and architecture. Staff are very friendly, amenities are clean. There is a shuttle bus between areas of the zoo but it is a nice walk around the place on flat terrain. Bring lots of water and wesr comfortable shoes to enjoy the day out. Various shows on throughout the day for entertainment and educational promotion. Plenty of parking.
Vee L — Google review
Australia Zoo truly lives up to its reputation as a wildlife experience, blending spectacular animal encounters with a passionate and powerful message of conservation that honors Steve Irwin's legacy. It's an absolutely brilliant day out for the family, offering genuinely close-up views of iconic Australian and international animals. The zoo is expansive, requiring a full day if not a bit more to explore, and there is plenty to look at and do. Including engaging live shows / talks that are both educational and highly entertaining. The dedication to wildlife preservation is evident at every turn—from the exhibits to the staff's enthusiasm—making you feel like your ticket contributes directly to a worthy cause. Unfortunately, the day ended on a sour note that prevents a perfect 5-star rating, related entirely to the closing procedure. There was no clear announcement or warning about the zoo closing soon, which left us scrambling to reach the exit shuttle. A staff member was directing everyone onto the shuttle to return to the exit. When two members of our group fell slightly behind (less than a minute), the staff member refused to hold the shuttle for them, stating abruptly that "They will have to turn around and walk back." Given the sheer size of the grounds, forcing paying guests—especially families to split up and a young child —to undertake a significant walk due to a lack of notice and an unwillingness to wait moments for their companions is unacceptable and directly contradicts the friendly atmosphere cultivated throughout the rest of the day. While I hope this was an isolated incident of poor judgment from one individual, it was a disappointing final memory on our first visit. A world-class zoo and a must-visit for anyone in Queensland.
J M — Google review
Amazing experience! Very huge park with professional staff and experienced people who take care of all the animals there. You have the feeling, that they know exactly what to do and that they treat the animals well. Relaxed atmosphere and a huge variation of different animals there. It’s not just a regular average Zoo. It’s a huge animal adventure park. It’s hard to explore everything in just one day.
Chris G — Google review
Australia Zoo offers a memorable and well-designed wildlife experience that caters to all ages. The layout is spacious and easy to navigate, with a wide variety of animals—from kangaroos and koalas to tigers, elephants, and crocodiles. Each exhibit feels thoughtfully arranged, giving visitors a close, engaging look at the animals while still prioritizing their welfare. The live shows are one of the highlights, especially the Wildlife Warriors show where you can see birds of prey, snakes, and crocodiles up close. The presentations are informative without feeling too heavy, and they reflect the conservation message that the Irwin family is known for. Staff throughout the zoo are friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the animals. With well-maintained facilities, plenty of rest areas, and a clean environment, Australia Zoo is a comfortable place to spend a full day. Whether you’re interested in learning more about Australian wildlife or simply enjoying a family outing, the experience is consistently enjoyable and well worth the visit.
Andy W — Google review
What a wonderful zoo! I felt good about the care the animals received and how many were rescues. The zookeepers really seem to care. Feeding and petting free roaming kangaroos was sooo cool. And they only charge $3 for a good size bag of food for them. A very cool experience.
Melanie M — Google review
So incredible!!! Absolutely loved the zoo, animals are clearly cared for. Its massive!! Definitely need comfy shoes, and some drinks. Will take a few hours to get through. Loved the show and the energy, staff are great. Was very enjoyable!! Food is standard with typical “zoo food”.

Visited here on a Sunday. There was no wait. Time to get in. It was quite good. Arrived. Just in time to see the seal show which was quite informative and fun to watch good size little aquarium. Take the kids walk around. Sharks manta rays seahorses etc had a great day. Staff friendly Would recommend.

Awesome Aquarium, very focused on wildlife knowledge and how to care for the environment. Our son loved it, and was frothing from start to finish. The seal show was awesome, and loved the tunnels with sharks, days and fish. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and very well priced experience. Book online early to get discount tickets but either way is a great day out for the family
Jamin P — Google review
Great experience at the aquarium! We saw all of the displays, heard a talk about the penguins 🐧 & saw a seal show! As two students the tickets were affordable and the experience was worth while! Not sure how great the venue would be for repeat visits but it was an excellent and highly recommended spot for a day trip while in Moolooaba. The seal shows were at 10:30 and 12:30 from memory, this may vary day to day. Lovely staff and good vibes all around:)
Phil T — Google review
Absolutely adore coming here! I finally managed to go for the amazing animal crossing event and it was better than I imagined! I thoroughly enjoyed the little stamp ralley and best of all, meeting Isabelle! It was genuinely one of the sweetest things ever and I gave her a drawing as a gift and token of my appreciation! Your staff were also fantastic today, big shoutout to Tiffany who we had a lovely chat to for ages and I think Ruth who was with Isabelle! You guys made this experience so amazing and I love what you do! 💜
PlushQueen D — Google review
The admission prices are reasonable. But if you book days in advance they are cheaper. We paid an extra $15 per person for the Behind-the-Scenes Tour I loved seeing all the animals. There was an adorable baby penguin and a fun hands-on section where we got to touch some marine life. Walking through the underwater tunnels was definitely a highlight, it felt like being surrounded by the ocean — though it was crowded at times. The Behind-the-Scenes Tour was a great experience. We saw how they house for injured animals and protect local marine life. There were three green sea turtles recovering, and we got to look down into the big pool above the tunnels — seeing the sharks and other animals swimming below was amazing. The seal show was light-hearted and fun, especially Ruby, a playful five-year-old seal. She was absolutely adorable! In total, we saw three seals during the show. The café, which had some food options — mainly small snacks and pies. So, don’t expect a full meal there. The only downside was, the Behind-the-Scenes Tour felt a little short, and unfortunately, no photos or videos were allowed during it. A wonderful experience and perfect would definitely come back again!!

Was here 20 years ago as a kid, now back again as an adult. Still as incredible as ever! That said I miss the 2006 Jeep Fishtank. In where the engine was the filter system. Pretty mad lol.
Bradley H — Google review
2nd time visiting in 7 years, both times just me and my husband. We enjoyed it just as much this time as we did the first. They have some shows during the day so if you are into these, be sure to check the schedule. If you aren't, and you like it a little less busy, then go when everyone is at the show, its a lot quieter.
Christine A — Google review
Most excellent experience. Marvellous guides (Lucy and Alice). Lovely animals. Interesting and educational facility. Did the behind the scenes tour with Seals, Penguins, and Sea Turtles. Very interactive. Also very interesting to hear and see how the programs are put together and animals cared for.

Family outing - visitors from Vancouver BC - an educational experience for children and adults. Interesting displays - friendly staff - a great walk through the forest. Met up with one of the volunteers - Carmel - thank you for explaining a lot of interesting facts about the plants and birds. A well run and organised Tourist Attraction!

Beautiful views, the food there is yummy, but I do wish they had a few more salads and healthier options. Thus the 4 stars. Being a diabetic you are always looking for healthier options. The staff were helpful and friendly and the atmosphere is just lovely. The walks 🚶‍♂️ through the reserve are beautiful. My advice is to go slow, so many people miss interesting stuff because they are in too much of a rush. Things like the trap door spiders and the worms /grubs that drag green sticks into there underground holes munching on the end until they disappear down the hole. There is a hanging birds nest over the creek that no one much seems to notice. Beautiful, peaceful walk!💖

It is a conservation park located on the Blackall Range east of Maleny, in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. It is about 90 minutes from Coolum beach by car. Public transport takes longer. The reserve is located in the mountain rainforests of the Maleny region overlooking the Glass House Mountains. The 55-hectare reserve consists of subtropical rainforest, which are mainly located in the north-east parts of Australia. The Cairncross reserve has an area of 530,000 square metres and reaches a peak canopy of 440 m. The main species of tree is the Australian red cedar. Strangler figs and fungi are some of the other plants found here. You can spend several hours here depending on your interests. Popular place, lots of tourists and locals. Uneven terrain, lot of walking, mostly under tree shade. You will likely see small wildlife along the tracks as you wander about. Animals include about 140 birds. There's a large car park, barbecue and a cafe. Toilets available. Entry fees apply. Gift/souvenir shop available on site. Friendly staff and great service. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Great place for photography.

Stunning scenery and pure forest air — a place where you can truly relax and breathe in nature. It’s my second visit, and every time feels just as special. Everyone who comes here falls in love with the calm and beauty. A perfect escape from busy life.

Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve has great walking trails and a magnificent view of the Glasshouse Mountains from the ample car park. There are public toilets here, and picnic tables where you can bring your portable BBQ to grill at. Just next door you have Mountain View Cafe, which, although a little pricey, has a lot of your refreshment needs covered. Not too far from Maleny, this is a great place to schedule in a couple of hours on your weekend getaway.
Kye-Simeon M — Google review
It's always delightful to walk amongst the rainforest trees, hearing the birdsong, maybe catching sight of a wallaby. And of course, the view of the glasshouse mountains is superb.
Jamie H — Google review
Early morning walk, whilst cool. Tree canopy is high, and many, many bird calls. Finished with scones and tea at the restaurant with amazing views
David C — Google review
Beautiful spot for a coffee and a gorgeous walk through subtropical rainforest. The cafe on-site has a good range of options and decent coffee, which is handy if you want a pre or post walk meal, and views of the Glasshouse mountains. The entry to the rainforest walk is through the Rainforest discovery centre and the volunteer staff are super helpful. The walks themselves are easy, and on well maintained tracks and offer beautiful views and if you're lucky, you could spot a wee pademelon 🥰 Toilets on-site and parking on-site also. Highly recommend this experience and making the gold coin donation on your visit (@ the discovery centre) to keep the research and conservation efforts going ahead 😀

The experience was highly interactive, with birds landing on us throughout the tour, including macaws, parrots, and cockatoos. Sometimes we had multiple birds at a time sitting on us. Truly unforgettable. Our guide, Lidia, was warm, knowledgeable, and fantastic at reading both the birds’ comfort levels and the visitors’. She clearly knows her stuff and cares deeply about the wellbeing of the birds, which made the whole experience even better. We also took a brief walk around the gardens, which were beautifully maintained and incredibly picturesque. The park itself has a lovely café with views stretching out to the Glass House Mountains, a perfect spot to unwind after the tour. There is also a petting zoo for the kids with a large assortment of different animals for them to enjoy. If you love birds, go to this place. It’s an amazing experience and absolutely worth the visit.

We had the most beautiful day. Beautiful gardens, stunning bird aviary with plenty of interaction with the birds, the gorgeous animals in the animal farm, full Devonshire Tea with the biggest scones I've ever seen & so delicious, a perfect sunny day & the most helpful, informative and wonderful staff. A perfect day. 🥰 We did have a cart that enabled us to get around this huge garden, it certainly is something I would recommend. Even though it is winter when we visited the gardens are still stunning, I certainly will be returning though when the huge rose garden is blooming. I highly recommend a visit & say to you Malany Botanical Gardens & Bird Aviary be very very proud of what you have, it is a special place to visit. 🥰

We , 4 adults and 3 children, had a wonderful afternoon here. The botanic gardens are fabulous . The bird tour was so well done and it was fun being interactive. The birds are pretty, so entertaining and look happy. There was so much to see . We were there until closing but could have stayed longer. There are plenty of lovely spots to have a picnic . The cakes we had from the cafe were delicious. ( only minor disappointment was coffee was no longer available just after 3 pm ) thoroughly recommend a trip here and would definitely come back.

I had such an awesome time at the Maleny Botanical Gardens and Bird Sanctuary! 🌿🦜 The entry price was very reasonable, especially for everything that was included. You get to wander through the beautiful botanical gardens, which are peaceful, well-kept, and full of stunning plants and scenery. On top of that, there are some animals to see along the way, which added a nice surprise. The highlight for me, though, was definitely the Bird Sanctuary tour. It’s made up of Four different sanctuaries—two are non-interactive, and the other two are interactive. The interactive ones were so much fun, with the birds actually sitting on your arms, shoulders, and even your head! One cheeky bird even gave me a little nip, which made for a funny memory. The whole experience was a mix of beauty, fun, and laughter, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a great day out. Five stars from me—absolutely worth the visit! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Fantastic day out for families. The aviary tour was fun and interactive. You can grab a yummy coffee and some nibbles and venture to any of the many little seated areas or gazebos around the gardens with views to die for. Would highly recommend the buggy hire! This was such a highlight of our weekend and will definitely be back.

A good experience in a fantastic location. The gardens & the bird show were both memorable experiences, as was the location itself, overlooking the beautiful glasshouse mountains. We paid the extra $12 each for the guided tour, but I would advise others to book this in advance, we almost missed out. The tour was wonderful, there were many up close experiences with the many beautiful species. The tour host was lovely & informative, just make sure you don't try to take home a feather for a memento, that is not allowed. Please note that the $27 adult entry fee to the park & bird world doesn't get you anywhere near the birds you will want to get close to, so it's actually $39 each. Definitely worth the trip, follow it up with a meal/shop/walk around beautiful Maleny, what a great place!!

Located in Yandina, Australia, The Ginger Factory is a charming theme park that offers a blend of history and adventure. Visitors can explore displays about ginger, enjoy train and boat rides, stroll through tropical gardens, and indulge in concessions. The site also features Nutworks, a macadamia processing complex with an information center where guests can observe the factory process and purchase nut-related products.
We had a wonderful experience at the Ginger Factory! Our family especially enjoyed the boat ride, which showcased different parts of the world in a fun and engaging way. The train ride was incredibly relaxing, and the gentle gingery aroma throughout made it even more enjoyable. We also picked up some ginger treats, which our friends absolutely loved! There’s also a photobooth where you could take a photo and keep it as a souvenir. The staff were warm and welcoming, making the visit even more memorable. Highly recommended!

Busy, with lots of things for kids - not that we had any with us. We didn't do any tours, but walked around the established gardens, had a good ice cream cup at a quiet picnic table. A few decently priced gift shops with interesting items. Don't buy nuts in the Factory shop, but go across the road to the Nut Factory. Lots of electric car chargers, toilets for adults and kids.

We arrived at 9:30am and purchased tickets for the 10am Ginger Factory Tour and the 11am Live Bee Show. The taste testing was incredible — Kathy and Erin were both so knowledgeable and engaging! The rainbow umbrella walk was absolutely stunning, and the “Boat Around the World” ride was wonderfully interactive with great displays that kept everyone entertained. Lunch at the Ginger Kitchen came out quickly, and everyone enjoyed their meals. Afterward, we did the Zog Rainforest Walk, where we even met a real-life Zog! The train ride was a lovely way to finish exploring the grounds — it really showed how well-maintained the gardens are and gave us a chance to spot some local wildlife. Before heading home, we stopped for gelato at the Gelato Bar (delicious!) and browsed through the gift shop. Overall, a fantastic day out for all ages — fun, educational, and beautifully presented. Highly recommend! 🌿🍯🚂

Fun day had by all the family. Such a chilled day. Adored the colourful umbrellas , took some great pics. Everyone had fun on the interactive Zog trail. Free to enter was a pleasant surprise, we happily paid for the train and boat rides which the grandkids loved .

We’ve only visited the Ginger Factory once so far, but I’m 100% sure it won’t be our last time. We had tickets for the train and the boat but didn’t purchase any extras, and it was still a memorable and fantastic day with my little one. Next time, we’ll definitely try some of the additional activities.

It’s valuable experience, learned lot about ginger and how it’s made, history of Australian 1st ginger factory and their transition. Really good for children who want know about the history of ginger in australia. And honey bees, it was good educational talk and the way bees are working, those are really memorable.
Uthpala J — Google review
What an amazing experience for kids and adults alike. We didn't do the factory tour, so I can't comment on that. But my kids enjoyed the boat ride and the train ride. There so much to do. Playground, bouncy castle, a nice forest walk, even an umbrella walk. The ginger Gelato was delicious and so was the ginger beer. My 3 year old was crying cause he didn't want it go home after 2 hours. Definitely could have spent half a day there, but the park was closing. The only criticisms and what is preventing me in giving 5 stars would be, if you say you close at 5, why end the boat rides at 4, the train ride at 4:30 and the coffee shops by 4:30 as well. Just say you're open til 4:30. We came at 3, thinking we had 2 hours, instead we were "ushered out the door" by 4:30, with a staff member jokingly saying, "oh, you're still here? We would have come earlier had we known

Nature & Parks
Noosa National Park is a breathtaking gem located along Queensland's picturesque coastline, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in its natural beauty. Spanning over 4,000 hectares, this expansive park features an array of stunning landscapes, including dramatic coastal cliffs, serene beaches, and vibrant rainforests. Whether you're keen on hiking the mountain summit trails or exploring the scenic coastal paths, Noosa National Park offers ample opportunities for wildlife viewing and swimming.
Absolute gem to visit. Choose a nice day and allow 2 to 3 hours if just taking a casual walk, longer if you plan to take a swim. We happened to catch the sunset on the way back, which made it extra special. This is a must visit location. The walk is gentle and mostly on a paved surface. Steps are generally only when descending to the water. There are toilets at the start and about midway to Hell's Gate. Enjoy your trip!
Luis H — Google review
Multiple great walks to choose from. The coastal walk was absolutely beautiful with great views along the whole way, gorgeous look outs and access to sandy beaches. Great photo opportunities. Also lots of spots either on the beach or at some of the lookouts to have lunch. Also a lovely area at the entrance for a little picnic. Really enjoyed it!

Pictures don’t do it justice so stunning! We were able to see dolphins and whales along our walk. The fairy pools are farther down than expected be careful but it’s the views. We wended up not swimming in them because we for distracted by a pod of dolphins swimming by. Tea tree bay was a nice swim. A little chilly still since we are coming out a winter into spring (September). But we still went out!
Lydia T — Google review
Noosa National Park is an absolute gem and easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited in Australia. I spent half a day exploring and could have stayed much longer — the combination of coastal scenery, wildlife, and peaceful walking trails makes it a truly special spot. The Coastal Track is the highlight and a must-do. It’s well maintained and runs along the edge of the cliffs, offering incredible ocean views the entire way. I started from the main entrance near Noosa Heads and walked all the way to Hell’s Gates. Along the way, there are several lookout points — Tea Tree Bay, Dolphin Point, and Granite Bay were my favorites. Each offers a slightly different perspective of the coastline, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot dolphins or turtles in the water below. Wildlife spotting was another highlight. I actually saw a koala resting high up in a eucalyptus tree near Tea Tree Bay — such a cool moment! The park is also full of birds, and you’ll often hear them before you see them. If you plan to visit, I’d recommend going early in the morning. The car park near the main entrance fills up quickly, especially on weekends, and it can get busy later in the day. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and maybe a snack or two if you’re walking the full track. There are also a few beaches along the way if you want to stop for a swim or just relax by the water. Overall, Noosa National Park is a perfect blend of natural beauty, wildlife, and tranquility. Whether you’re into hiking, photography, or just want a peaceful escape surrounded by nature, this place has it all. I can’t wait to go back — it’s the kind of spot that stays with you long after you leave.
Mandeep K — Google review
Noosa National Park is absolutely stunning — easily one of the best coastal walks in the State. The track follows the cliffs with sweeping ocean views, turquoise coves, and shady sections through eucalyptus forest. The walk to Hell’s Gates is especially beautiful, and there are plenty of spots to stop for photos or a quiet break. Perfect mix of accessibility and wild natural beauty.
R S — Google review
The coastal walk at Noosa National Park is absolutely stunning. The scenery changes constantly along the way — from sparkling beaches to rugged cliffs and lush bushland — so there’s always something beautiful to look at. It’s definitely doable, though you’ll want to be at least a little bit fit, especially if you’re planning to walk the whole track. I’d highly recommend doing the full coastal walk if you have the time. It’s roughly 10 km return (give or take depending on where you start), and every step is worth it. A truly spectacular experience. 🌊🌿✨
Charmaine R — Google review
I would have rated this place 5 stars for the scenery and the very well maintained toilets and walking tracks, but it’s INCREDIBLY, AWFULLY CROWDED!! I’ve seen less people in shopping centres than here. And the parking situation SUCKS!!!!! We were lucky enough to get a park in a side street nearby-ish, but I saw a lot of vehicles do the round trip between the roundabout on Hastings Street and the NP car park, with no success. On the coastal track there were heaps of people, and a fair few runners dodging the walkers, which can be annoying for both. We also walked the Tanglewood track, and that was a completely different experience. Very few people, and some nice rainforest sections. Unfortunately the signage left a lot to be desired and twice we ended up on a maintenance track by mistake. If you’re in Noosa, it’s worth a look but I would not recommend making a special trip here unless you’re into riding a longboard. The surf was pretty good, if you’re willing to get up early or walk a mile or two to get to the beach.
Erasmus M — Google review
An incredible place with stunning coastal walks and picturesque beaches like Fairy Pools. The trails are well-maintained, offering amazing views. Just be aware that finding parking can be a real challenge, so plan to arrive very early or consider walking from Hastings Street to avoid the hassle. It's a must-visit, but the parking situation requires some strategic thinking!

Noosa Heads Main Beach is a popular destination in the northern town of Noosa, offering picturesque views and a range of activities for visitors. It's conveniently located near Hastings Street, known for its vibrant bars and boutiques. Visitors can enjoy swimming, strolling along the shore, and watching stunning sunsets over the clear and calm waters.
The beach is beautiful and it's a great spot for surfing. The sand here is very soft. Although if it's holiday or weekend, there can be loads of people and it might be difficult to find a parking spot. You'd better plan the trip in advance.

Great boardwalk and great views! Best on a weekday, weekends might be too busy I think 🤔. Pretty hard to get a park anywhere here though, so you might have to walk to it from afar like I had to.

Stunning sunrise views, very crowded and feels lively. Very clean facilities and includes water refills which are frequently cleaned which was nice. One of, if not the best beaches on the coast.
Yiyang Y — Google review
Noosa Heads Main Beach is the kind of beach that makes you believe you’ve accidentally wandered onto a postcard. Crystal-clear water, golden sand, and waves gentle enough that even the ocean seems to be in a good mood. It’s perfect for literally everything — tanning, swimming, floating around pretending you’re in a movie, or just sitting there staring at the view like it’s therapy (because honestly, it is). The vibe is relaxed, the people are lovely, and the whole place just radiates holiday energy. Whether you’re grabbing a bite on Hastings Street between swims or watching the sun melt into the water, Main Beach always hits. It’s clean, beautiful, and somehow makes you forget every problem you’ve ever had. The only downside? The sheer volume of people. At peak times it feels like half of Australia had the exact same idea — but honestly, when a beach is this stunning, can you even blame them? If paradise had a postcode, it would be Noosa. 🌞🏖️

Beautiful, Relaxing, and Perfect for Everyone! Noosa Main Beach is one of the best beaches I’ve ever been to. The water is calm and crystal clear—perfect for swimming, even for kids. The sand is soft and clean, and the beach is very well-maintained. I also loved how close it is to Hastings Street, with so many cafes, restaurants, and shops just a short walk away. It can get a bit crowded during peak times, and parking is limited, so come early if you can. But overall, it’s a stunning spot to relax, swim, surf, or just enjoy the sunshine. Highly recommended if you’re visiting the Sunshine Coast!

Eumundi Markets, a vibrant open-air market, has been operating twice weekly since 1979. Every Wednesday and Saturday morning, the town comes alive with local artists, food producers, and live performers showcasing their talents under the heritage-listed fig trees. The market offers a wide array of goods including handcrafted furniture, artworks, fashion, jewelry, fresh produce, and gourmet treats. During school holidays, there are special activities for children such as face painting and balloon artists.
Loved this place! We came on a rainy Wednesday, but it was buzzing! The market is known for handmade items yet we found that there is a nice selection of food stalls (including vegan options) too. Everything we ate here was delicious. We stayed for two hours and could definitely have spent more time exploring. Make sure to check out the set up on both sides of the road. We had some delightful conversations with stall holders and my little ones even received treats from a fairy who was going around.

Love, love, love this market and it met my expectations and more. It's filled with produce showcasing local talent. A great place to pick up unique pieces you won't find anywhere else. You can easily spend the whole morning here, wondering through the many stalls, live music playing and plenty of choices to eat. Parking is easy and reasonably priced at just over $9. One of my favourite stalls was the stone mason. Beautiful garden ornaments at very reasonable prices. Photos of these and a few other favourites.

We’ve been visitors to Kenilworth for many years and love our stops at the dairy 🏆 Offering a variety of local and regional produce from a fantastic range of dairy products, sauces, spices, wines and crafts There’s no on-street parking with visitors having to use nearby on and off street arrangements. However, while in the area, it’s easy enough to park and browse everything the small township has to offer ❤️ Featuring a wonderful range of cheeses, fresh dairy milk, ice cream and moose - don’t forget to enjoy a delicious toasted sandwich and hot coffee in the outdoor garden area

We recently attended Kenilworth Dairy and were extremely impressed by the wide range of products on offer. They had an excellent selection of cheeses, milks, yogurts, mousses, and various other dairy items. The prices for all the products were very reasonable. We purchased a packet of assorted hard cheeses, and every one of them has been absolutely delicious. The mousse was incredibly light and fluffy, easily one of the best I’ve ever tried. Their milk is low in sugar and has a clean, fresh taste. We’ll definitely be returning to Kenilworth Dairy on any future trips to the Kenilworth area.

You'll find a wide selection of dairy products here, like cheeses, milk, ice cream and so much more. For first-time visitors, I strongly suggest trying the cheese sampling box-it comes with nine different cheeses, a jam, and a packet of crackers.

Absolutely disgusting chocolate mousse sold in Coles, which found its way straight to my bin after two spoons. Can't believe you would taste this before commercialising it and decide "Yes, we have a winner!". Unless you just didn't or it was your first ever mousse and you don't know how it's supposed to taste or look like. There isn't even a hint of chocolate in this, it's just a sugar mousse, if you can call this a mousse with this slimy texture. It's extremely rare for me to go into the effort of rating a supermarket product but in this case I felt I had to try and discourage other Australians from buying this. I wish I had seen the reviews here before I did. Maybe keep it to cheeses.

Never seen sand dune type things in Queensland. This was such a beautiful spot. The walk up to it felt like a mild hike 😅but it was worth it. Keep in mind if you’re going up for sunset to bring mosquito repellent because we got absolutely munched on. Worth it tho! 🌟🌟

Always face place of mine to visit. It is close to a km walk from the car park to the blow hole. Make sure you take the time and effort to get to the edge of the cliff over looking the ocean, it is a little tough if you have issues walking as very sandy and need some strength to get back up. Billion dollar views await !

Such a wonderful experience, and a great find when travelling in this area. Quite an unusual area, but a great place for sand boarding, or even just rolling down the sand dune. Beautiful sea views at the coastal side with paragliding and the opportunity for whale watching, alongside beautiful green landscapes at the other. Amazing. Love this location at sunset, and it can get quite busy here with people coming to have a drink and watch the sun set! Fun to boogie board down the sand dunes and wander around, see the water and beach below. Loved the steam train ride. Anamore a great little stop to turn the train around. We did the pet carriage our boy was very comfortable and there was a bowl for water for him if needed. The guard chatted for awhile to make sure we were happy with the ride. The staff are great both on the train and at the station lovely little Cafe and shop/museum. Had a great time

Sensational experience on this steam engine. Customer service from all staff was outstanding. The views from the carriage were fabulous. Stops at Amamoor and Dagun station were great thanks to those communities providing stalls at the stations. Well done to all the volunteers who contributed to make our trip memorable.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We loved it — even more than we expected! We took my mum from England along with my two kids (11 and 13), and it was so nice to see them genuinely engaged in everything our guide, Ryan, shared. He was young, enthusiastic, and clearly passionate about steam trains and railways — it was wonderful to see that kind of excitement! The scenery was stunning, and the stops along the way were great. The cheese and wine tasting was a lovely touch too. We had such a fantastic day — highly recommend a trip on the Rattler! ❤️

We did the ‘Wizard’ experience on Saturday night. If I would change anything it would be to experience the steam train during the daytime. There was not a lot of experiences regarding it being a Wizard experience, that in hindsight made the night trip worth doing. The journey was great as was sunset. After that there was nothing to see. Seeing the turntable for the train to turn around was great.

What a great experience! The trip was relaxing, informative and enjoyable. The high tea on offer was enjoyable. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The cafe was a great start for brekky before the journey, the museum and the shop offered some insight into the history of rail.

🇦🇺Aussie Traveller we went on the Mary Valley Rattler today out of Gympie. The old Steam Train and carriages have been immaculately restored. The staff and Conductors are all Volunteers which is a great credit to all involved. Well worth the trip, it took about 1 hour each way. When we got to Amamoor they had a little market, music and a Cafe. We had a great day.

We recently stayed in the Gympie Hinterland and chose to do the Mary Valley Rattler Silver Bullet High Tea Experience as a family. We received a warm welcome and briefing at the Ticket Office and browsed the museum whilst waiting to board. The carriage itself was well-restored with comfortable padded seating to enjoy our journey. Our high tea was lovely, admittedly our teens did not enjoy the savoury foods, however us adults made up for it, and there was plenty to fill our bellies. The trip was pleasant and leisurely as we clattered along, enjoying the country landscape and deep insights from our guide John. Dagan contained a Cheese & Wine Tasting (which we could not stomach after our high tea), a street library, wood mill, and nature walk. On our return trip we visited the drivers cabin and received our custom chocolate to have with our bottomless tea / coffee service. Overall a lovely experience.

Great experience all round. Great food and coffee at Cafe, so if you have an early start, just have bfast there. Service is fast and top. Train experience was lovely with each carriage having it's own staff to advise of the history. Great day. Thanks to all the volunteers that makes this possible.

Bunya Mountains National Park

National park
Nature & Parks
Mountain home to ancient bunya pines revered by Aboriginal people, plus rare birds & flowers.
A great national park to visit with incredible trees and beautiful waterfalls and walking tracks! I highly recommend doing the scenic track and Paradise Falls and the bunya tavern for a tasty lunch. Well worth the winding and narrow drive to get there!
Nick O — Google review
Beautiful trail on the Tree trail. Check out Little falls. Easy parking, easy walk with clear trails and only gradual incline. A couple of steep bits. Off road wheelchair would access with assistance. A couple of stops, so you can just go as far as you like. First water fall is only 700 meters from trail start. I went on a midweek day. So only saw two other people.

A short drive from Dalby, brings you to a small but beautiful mountain range. It offers expansive views from many lookouts and well maintained hiking trails. Don't miss Paradise Falls, Little Falls and Mt. Kiangarow. See Bunya Pines (of course!) Xanthorrhoea trees and Subtropical Rainforest, lovely clear streams and a multitude of birdlife including the amusing Catbird! Highly recommended!

A really good national park when there's been a bit of rain. I've been here quite a few times, but 20 years or more ago, and the waterfalls were very paltry, but right now, they are magnificent. And it's so lush under the forest canopy. The bunyas are magnificent, there's some very cool strangler figs. Lots of wildlife, birds especially. And such a different climate to the one we left in Brisbane. Cool nights, pleasant days. Finally, there are enough walking tracks to keep you busy for two full days walking. I strongly recommend a visit

Always love coming up here. The air is crisp and clean, the forest is awesome, with Bunya pines that you can't get your arms around. Cold enough for cozy fires in your cabin - toasted marshmallows etc.

Amazing hiking. Keep your eyes peeled for the bower bird structures and their blue decorations, and listen for the call of the whip bird! A great place to take a break from the heat of lower elevations.

Cafe
Barnacles is a charming waterfront cafe situated in Tim Can Bay, offering visitors the unique opportunity to interact with humpback dolphins. For a nominal fee, guests can partake in an educational talk and feed the dolphins while learning about them individually. The cafe boasts ample seating and provides a serene view of the estuary, along with prompt service and delectable hot meals and coffee.
Beautiful team of employees and volunteers—everyone was so kind and clearly cared about the animals. We grabbed breakfast at the café after our wonderful experience with the dolphins. The coffee was lovely, and the food was great—simple, tasty, and just what we needed. Everything felt well thought out and respectful, from how the dolphins are treated to how the whole place is run. The dolphin experience itself was incredibly ethical—no swimming, no petting, just a genuine, respectful interaction that puts the animals’ well-being first. Proud to support a small business doing things the right way.

Fantastic morning learning & feeding the local dolphin population. Staff presentation was very informative, even the kids loved it. Cafe was closed on a monday morning so cant comment, but the menu does look good. Special shoutout to Peter, loved the pink bunny ears mate!
Shaun J — Google review
Didn't eat at the restaurant, but the dolphins feeding was great. The presentation starts at 7.00am with a brief information session, then the feed starts at 8am. Dont 🐝 too worried if you're running late. The feeding is very orderly with no need to rush or push to the front. They also rotate the front viewing so everyone can get a chance to see. You get one fish for $15, and it lasts maybe 2 minutes in the water with the dolphins, no petting allowed. Definitely better experience with wild animals than viewing in a zoo.

I was in absolute heaven being here last weekend. I loved it so much I returned the very next day. All volunteers were absolutely lovely and friendly ( including the 2 gentlemen at the front gate, to the lady with the long blonde hair who was taking the orders in the canteen, to Annette & Roger and every other volunteer on both of the days ) . We ordered brekkie on our first day and the vegetarian wrap and coffees were so nice too - very impressive. These volunteers all showed such a huge respect for the dolphins too and also ensure that they remain safe in their own environment and ……. they were so organised too. They were even better than the Brisbane Entertainment Centre as I was there on the Tuesday before and it was a mess !! Considering they are all volunteering too - it’s so impressive to see. :-) On the second day at Barnacles, the dolphins were very playful and on both days, they had also brought gifts on their rostrums, it was just adorable. I would highly recommend going there and feeding the dolphins too, it’s really worth your time and money.
Lowie F — Google review
One of my favourite places on earth... so special to he able to feed the wild dolphins, the volunteers are welcoming and just want you to experience the beauty of these dolphins 🐬 and in top of that the cafe serves the best food. Get there early so you do miss the Dolphins arriving
G T — Google review
Quite a busy cafe during the dolphin feeding experience, so worthwhile getting your order in early, otherwise it can take some time to get served. Food portions looked sizeable, and the coffee was pretty reasonable too. Live music was playing out the front of the venue at around 8AM which was a nice addition.
Kerbray — Google review
Had a wonderful time at Barnacles with the family. Feeding the dolphins was a lovely experience for my little one, and for the adults too. The feeding sessions are well organised by the amazing team of volunteers, who deeply care about the animals and deliver a valuable message to visitors about conservation and respect for dolphins and wildlife in general. Peter is fantastic (he told us to say that lol); but seriously, he and all the volunteers are wonderful. The cafe provides nice coffee and breakfast, and pets are welcome which is a huge bonus for us. 100% recommended.
Melissa T — Google review
School holidays so it was very busy, if you have never seen a dolphin then it would be worthwhile. You can get close up, volunteers are very good and helpful. It’s a private business so all proceeds go to the business which is interesting given it’s all run by volunteers.

Great spot, in depths of shade so solar suffered a bit. Not that clear where to put RV but generous space when found a site. Wildlife pretty forward despite lack of dingos so do lock up bins and food

At this place you should go for the walk along the Wanggoolba Creek. Thias creek is flow on very fine white sand. The thing is sometimes you do not see the water as it is invisible clear. We did not use the camping area which is also closed by.

This is the most disgusting campground. Filthy bathrooms, broken showers, smelt so bad you had to hold your hand over your nose to enter. I wouldn't use the toilets they are so terrible. Showers took the coins, no water came out, hardware hanging off the wall. It was like a scene out of Jurassic Park. The campground itself is unkempt. Dirty bins and dirty 'camp kitchen'.

Seventy Five Mile Beach is a long and rugged stretch of sand known for its rough waters and shark sightings. It offers fishing opportunities and 4WD access, making it an adventurous destination for nature enthusiasts. Happy Valley, located on the eastern side of the beach, provides convenient access to highlights such as the restaurant serving pub-style meals and friendly staff offering fishing gear.
You can drive here more than 70miles direct at the beach. More challenging is the driving through the sand trails inside the island. Speedlimit inside is most of the time 30km/h. It is only allowed to drive the beach at low tide and not at all through the salt water. Really a fun but be cartefull and watch out for creeks comming from inside. You need to order the car right in advance.

Lake McKenzie, also known as Boorangoora, is a popular tourist destination and the most famous inland freshwater lake on Fraser Island. Its pristine white silica sand and turquoise water make it a must-see attraction. The lake is a perched lake, containing only rainwater with no groundwater inflow or outflow to the ocean. Visitors can enjoy picnicking on its white sand beaches and swimming in its crystal-clear waters that maintain a temperature of about 25 degrees throughout the year.
I love this spot! Best attraction on the island. Purest white sand and crystal blue fresh water. Nice and shallow until the drop off which you can easily see by the darker blue water. Theres limited parking so the earlier you get there the better. It’s secluded and quiet unless it happens to be school holidays 😂 There is an amenities block for those in need as well in the car park area.

Lake McKenzie: A Fraser Island Gem You Can't Miss! If you're planning a trip to K'gari (Fraser Island), Lake McKenzie (Boorangoora) is an absolute must-see. This iconic freshwater lake lives up to every bit of its hype, offering an experience that's nothing short of breathtaking. The first thing that strikes you is the crystal-clear water. It's so incredibly pure, with a stunning blue hue that transitions to brilliant turquoise as you wade in. Composed entirely of rainwater, the lake's sandy bed and lack of marine life contribute to its remarkable clarity, making it perfect for swimming and simply marveling at its beauty. Getting there is an adventure in itself. The 4WD driveway to Lake McKenzie is a highlight for any off-road enthusiast. Navigating the sandy tracks through the island's interior adds to the excitement and truly makes you feel like you're earning that first glimpse of paradise. It's a fantastic experience for drivers and passengers alike, offering a taste of K'gari's unique terrain. Once you arrive, you'll find pristine white silica sand, perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun. Whether you're taking a refreshing dip, picnicking on the shore, or simply enjoying the serene atmosphere, Lake McKenzie offers an unforgettable natural escape.

Lake McKenzie on K'gari (Fraser Island) is a stunning perched lake with crystal-clear turquoise water and soft, white silica sand that feels like velvet underfoot. Perfect for swimming, the shallow waters are safe for all ages, though it can get deep quickly. The surrounding lush forest adds to the serene, postcard-worthy vibe. It’s a must-visit, but arrive early to avoid crowds, as it’s a popular spot. A short 4WD trip or hike from Kingfisher Bay, it’s an unforgettable natural wonder
Paz A — Google review
we were on k'gari and you just can't miss Lake Mckenzie (Boorangoora). it is so beautyfull. so blue and you can see the bottem everywhere. so if you are there, just go to Lake Mckenzie (Boorangoora). :)
Jfjfhfjf — Google review
Lake McKenzie makes it probably the most visited natural site on the island. It is a ‘perched’ lake, which means it contains only rainwater, no groundwater, is not fed by streams and does not flow to the ocean. The sand and organic matter at the base of the lake form an impervious layer, preventing rainwater from draining away. The sand here is pure, white silica and is not only beautiful to look at but feels beautifully soft to walk on. The sand acts as a filter, giving the water its clarity and helping to make the water so pure it can support very little life. The blues and greens of the lake are endlessly fascinating and it’s well worth getting up early to look across it in the soft light of dawn. I have been here many times and it has always been an incredible place to be, but this particular visit was different as its the very first time I've really seen the true colours after receiving my colour correction glasses (I'm a colour-blind)... what did this mean? Hard to describe but it's like visiting for the first time again... Simply mind-blowing! #kgari #Queensland #Australia #frasercoast #igersfraserisland #kgaridraserisland

Such an amazing place. The water is crystal clear and so clean. It’s like swimming in a pool but without the chemicals in it. You’re not allowed to eat on the beaches but there are designated fenced picnic areas at the parking area. Also toilets which is wheelchair accessible. Only downside is that it’s very busy with tour buses and the road to get there is not in a good condition. Put this on your to do list!

Eli Creek is a must-visit spot on Fraser Island, also known as Kgari. Visitors can grab a flotation device and float down the crystal-clear creek past fish, making for an enjoyable family activity. The water is best enjoyed on a sunny day when it's warmer and looks even bluer. While it can get busy during peak periods, walking the short boardwalk inland and returning to the beach via the creek offers an amazing experience.
Such a picturesque spot! It gets very busy though and the tourist buses pull up with full loads all the time. It’s very relaxing flowing down the river and it’s only waist deep at the deepest. (Mostly just above knee level) Very easy to walk it so floaties aren’t necessary. Nice board walk to stroll along too
SARGES’ F — Google review
It's OK and worth a visit but dont get too excited. Common destination on the island and gets very busy. Not very deep water and is very short. A broadwalk takes you to the beginning and then you walk back down the Creek. Party atmosphere at the outlet to sea. We were told its quiet compares to the summer but I found it too busy.

Remember only leave footprints. Great swimming hole or float down the creek. Bring something to float on. Toilets are there. Don't forget little planes land there also.

Excellent place to swim and relax. Bring a boogie board or floatie and everyone can float down the creek accessible via the board walk. There are also toilets on site.

This is a really awesome little spot if you love wildlife, conservation or zoos. Plenty to see here...Kangaroos, Dingos, Birds, Reptiles. A lot of the animals are freely roaming around so you get the chance to hand feed some of the critters. Some really talkative birds too which was a lot of fun. I got more out of a Parrot than I have out of my girlfriend in 5 years. You can also buy reptiles and all the gear from here, they have some quite rare species too if it's a hobby of yours. Overall the place isn't one of the most picturesque sanctuaries I've been to however you can tell that the animals are well looked after. The staff are also super friendly and talkative being more than happy to give you more info. You can tell they love what they do. Entry fee is great too at $15 an adult. We spent a couple of hours here and was well worth the detour and time
Sam S — Google review
Fantastic sanctuary that is incredibly cheap and a much quieter, more interactive experience compared to a lot of other zoos/sanctuaries. Great value for money and volunteers are very friendly and are happy to answer questions and pass on knowledge. Animals include kangaroos and wallabies, ducks, peacocks free roaming and bettongs, turtles, emus and dingoes in enclosures. A range of birds in aviaries and beautiful snakes and lizards in the reptile room. Animals are well cared for and volunteers love what they do. Emus are gentle, kangaroos are very friendly, reptiles are easy to handle. Definitely recommend the animal experiences - a dingo encounter is $15 and snake is $10 which is actually great value for money, a fair and heavily discounted rate compared to other overpriced venues. At 2pm the public can help feed the outer sanctuary, which includes getting up close with the most gentle and wonderfully natured emus! Kangaroo food available for purchase at the reception for $3 which is always an enjoyable experience, and they love a nice scratch behind the ear! If you love animals, I highly recommend this facility. I spent hours here by myself and loved every minute of it. Thank you so much to the volunteers for being so wonderful and informative and making this a fantastic experience overall! We appreciate your efforts and hard work in everything that you guys do!

A extremely affordable, smaller and quiet animal sanctuary that allows you to get up close and personal with the animals. The kids spent ages feeding the kangaroos and wallabies, yet weren’t brave enough to join in the snake or dingo experiences. Big picnic area out the front and a smaller area inside to enjoy drinks and ice-creams. We’ll definitely bring the next set of visiting relatives here.

Champagne Pools is a stunning natural swimming spot located along 75 Mile Beach on K'gari's eastern shores. The pools offer a romantic and picturesque setting for visitors to relax and enjoy the sensation of swimming in nature's own version of a bubbly jacuzzi.
Really stunning natural rock pool formation! 100% worth checking out if you are on the island. There is a public toilet and car park at the top of the hill, you jump out and walk down around 300m to the pools themselves. Definitely bring water, food and towels etc for a good relax

The Champagne Pools are a nice spot, but I would not say they are worth the hype. Similiar pools can be seen a lot of other places, they are shallow and not very swimmable. It is a nice beach and area, but there are way nicer places on K'gari I would prioritize spending more time.

Beautiful place! My family and I had a great time swimming with the fish and enjoyed the view and it was fun to watch the champagne looking bubbly spirits when the waves hit the rocks. It was a wonderful experience. Don't forget to put on proper shoes, the walking track can be very hot. It was a beautiful 7 minute walk or maybe less. The drive was a bit bumpy but not as bumpy as Mackenzie Lake.

Make sure to bring sturdy footwear as the rocks are quite sharp. The views from the carpark to the pool were spectacular. It was a pleasure to walk along the hilly exposed path. It made what could of been a difficult walk into something to remember. We spent most of our time looking back at where we had just come from and planning where we would go next. The water was crystal clear and a great spot for a rest.

Urangan Pier, located in Queensland's Fraser Coast, is a historic and iconic attraction. Built in 1999 to commemorate Captain Matthew Flinders' first contact with Fraser Island, the pier was once used for cargo transfer but is now popular for fishing and offering scenic views. Stretching almost one kilometer into the ocean, it provides spectacular vistas of Hervey Bay and opportunities to spot marine life such as dolphins, stingrays, and schools of fish.
Wonderful wooden pier, real hot spot for fishing especially in the late afternoon. Has rod holsters and filleting station. Amazing place to come and watch the sunset. Couple of hundred metres walk to the end. Amazing to come here and see the difference in tide times. On low tide half the pier is above sandbank which is also really nice to walk and look for hermit crabs. Quite windy though so bring a jumper if you are coming for sunset

Beautiful walk along the 1.1 kilometer length. Great views. Coming off the end of the Wednesday market avenue was a nice touch. Great location and easy walk.

Aquatic center
Wetside Water Park is an oceanfront aquatic center located in Hervey Bay, Queensland. It offers a variety of water attractions including waterslides, a splash pad, and a wave machine. The park opened in 2009 and has since become a popular spot for families to cool off during the hot summer days. This zero-depth water park features interactive play equipment, tipping buckets, and a giant water screen, providing both entertainment and education on water sustainability.
Great place to stop and cool off. Parking can be tricky if it’s busy. The main splash park is free but you can pay a low cost for the other slides and timed ninja park. These are paid for for a certain number of turns. Lots of tables and chairs available, some shaded. Lockers available near the toilets - BYO padlock or get one from the kiosk. Showers also in the cubicle blocks. 2 cafes right next to the park so easy to get food & beverages and then take them to eat. The kids had a blast.

Seriously, they need to limit the number of people at the water park during school breaks. We got there right when it opened at 10, and it was fine for like ten minutes, but by 10:30, it was total chaos. It's an accident just waiting to happen. Kids were pushing and shoving on the kids' slides, kids were crying everywhere, and parents were just glued to their phones. The line for the big slides was all the way down the stairs. My kid was done after fifteen minutes. He was like, "Can we leave? I don't feel safe."

Great fun, amazing views looking out to K'gari/ Fraser Island! It's free to play around on parts and great value for the awesome water slides! We also did the Aqua Ninja water activity course that was good fun with a bit of a challenge!

Great place to take the kids and us big kids for a bit of fun! Well priced and in a prime spot on the beach. Only reason it wasn't a 5 umwas due to short staffing there was nowhere to buy a water. The young guy spotting the slides was friendly and attentive.

There's something for everybody! My kids love the splash pad and the water slides! Free entry unless you or your children over 120cm tall want to use the water slides for $8 for 10 slides. Great place to take the kids.

Great water play area. Went everyday we were here and the kids loved it. The older ones loved the slide too. $8 for 10 slides. Great part of our holiday

Great place for kids (young and young at heart), plenty of free off street parking around, with a delicious cafe next door and the gorgeous beach in front. The renovations/maintenance have made it even better. Plenty of shaded areas, change rooms/bathrooms, and friendly lifeguards around. Love bringing my littles here

One of the most amazing free water parks in Queensland. Areas for big or little kids. My son loves Wetside and that's our favourite place to visit when we come up to Hervey bay. Now with the playground and skate park next to it we love it even more.

Discover the world-famous Bundaberg Rum Distillery, where educational guided tours and tastings offer a deep dive into the production process of Australian rum. While in Bundaberg, visitors can also explore the Mon Repos turtle rookery, enjoy diving or snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef, and go whale watching. The area's beautiful beaches provide a perfect setting to relax after exploring all that Bundaberg has to offer.
Very interesting and well worth the visit, children are also welcome on the hour tour. The lady was very knowledgeable with information about the distillery Disappointed with the food as there was only a sausage in a roll with onions $6.95 & feta cheese & spinach puffs but you had to go looking for the filling as it was dry and all pastry.

Loved hearing how world wide, award winning Bundaberg Rum is made from womb to tomb. How molasses is extracted from sugar cane and the product not used is turned back to the cane farmers to use as fertilizer for future crops. Very impressive operation which spans a great size and run by only 38 full time employees.

When you say Bundaberg you automatically think Bundaberg Rum and rightly so. This tour starts with a self guided tour of the Museum showing the history of Bundaberg rum which is very informative and jovial at the same time, and yes the polar bear is there. What follows next is a tour of where they make the rum. Our guides for the day were G and Taylor and they were fantastic, very knowledgeable and also full of “dad” jokes. Note you are not allowed to take cameras, phones, anything electrical whilst on the tour, this is for safety reasons. At the end of the tour you get to have two drinks of any of their range. Don’t worry if you are not normally a rum drinker as they will help you choose an alternative to your normal tipple. It is advised to book ahead as they can sell out. But I really think it is a must do when visiting Bundaberg.

Not being Rum drinkers we thought we’d take a tour and see if we could be swayed. The museum was really informative and an interesting part of Qld history. Our tour guide Jayden was a superstar! Funny (with all the Dad jokes) but full of information, fun and very upbeat. Great tour, great guide, great value with a couple of taste testers at the end. Were we converted?

It was an amazing experience, the staff were amazing, shoutout to our tour guide Deb for making it an unforgettable experience, I’d give them a 100 star rating if I could, I will definitely be going back to do it again and will be definitely going back and doing the blend your own rum experience

Amazing drink prices! Very very fair tour cost of $30 and you get 2 drinks at the end. So only really looking at like $5 for the entire tour. The most expensive spirit there only sets you back $12 and a mango cocktail sushi was $15. If you like Bundy it is a must to go.

Great place to go & learn about the history aswell as taste test all the softdrinks. Kids really enjoyed it too.

My friend and I joined the tour on a Friday and were pleasantly surprised by how fun it was. Amber and Sandy were both so cool and funny and they skillfully weaved in education with humour to keep our group laughing. Although we're both non-rum drinkers, we really enjoyed our tasting experience afterwards and spent even more time checking out the merchandise - they really have souvenirs for every type of person!

Great place, awesome flight and views, unbelievable sea life! Saw so many fish, manta rays, turtles and other sea life! For people who are non swimmers or poor swimmers like me, lagoon is the place for you. Special thanks to Hannah who took special efforts in finding turtles in the lagoon. I spent almost 20 minutes up close with the turtles which was an awesome experience. The glass bottom boat was good too and snorkeling at the light house was pretty awesome. Food was great, lots of options. Just one thing, if you wish to use a wet suit, better to carry one from home. They charge you for that. But you can actually snorkel using your swim suit too. I definitely want to go back.

An incredible place to visit. It felt like a "bucket list" type experience. We flew from redcliffe for a 3 night visit. The snorkeling was incredible. The tide pool exploring was amazing. The flight in/out was a lot of fun and very scenic. The food buffet was really good and plenty of it too. Also the café and bar was well priced and the drinks were nice. I was concerned before we went that it was too expensive for what we were getting (my wife was really keen on taking our kids there). After been there I dont feel that way now. It was worth it for sure. Being able to wander out to one of the 3 idyllic snorkeling locations and find it empty, wade in and 10min later be swimming beside a white tip reef shark in crystal clear water is something hard to put a dollar value on. Walking through the tide pools with my kids as the sun sets and finding epaulettes sharks, morays, turtles and endless varieties of other fish and coral is another thing I can't really put a price tag on. It was just incredible. After 3 nights/4days we were all sad to leave. Other minor details: The accommodation was fine as we just treated it as a pit stop and place to rest our heads (we had an eco unit). There's no free wifi which I found odd in this day and age (wasn't a major for me).

This is an amazing place. The only downside for us, and it was a biggie, was that our “Reef” room was not air conditioned and it was sweltering until about 3am. The “sea breezes” did little to cool it down. It also meant we had to keep our windows at night listening to noisy bird politics. Now the good. We snorkeled and enjoyed several scuba dives and both were great. We saw lots of fish, eels, sharks, sea turtles and manta ray while diving. Visibility is good but not great. We were there in bird nesting season, so there were birds in every tree, some protecting eggs, some caring for their chicks. The food buffet had something for everyone and was tasty. Staff were helpful and courteous. All in all, a magical place to visit. We stayed four nights and felt that three would have been better.

This little coral cay is a piece of heaven! It exceeded all our expectations in every way. From the scenic flight to the island, (watching whales perform), to the beautiful and clean rooms (we stayed 2 nights in a reef room) to the delicious and diverse food, cocktail selection, amazing snorkelling (with mantarays, whales and turtles as well as tropical fishes) and warm weather, it had everything! We have travelled a lot and this one is one of our best trips, even though it was short. Thanks Lady Elliott Island! What an oasis!

The island delivered so much more than we expected. The snorkelling was amazing. We swam with turtles, rays, sharks, octopus, squid, manta rays and so many types and colours of fish. Our guides Brook, Erin and Georgia are very passionate about their work and make it more enjoyable (and educatiinal!) with their enthusiasm. Skippers Jack and Hannah made sure we didn't miss out on any opportunities while snorkelling. The food was delicious- my idea of not having a big lunch soon changed when I saw what was on offer! Mark was a very patient and tolerant Scuba teacher.

This is the most remarkable place to stay. The experience of snorkeling with beautiful manta ray, turtles, sharks and the amazing array of fish and coral all available straight from the beach. The facilities and staff are just fantastic.

A Memorable and Exclusive Reef Escape. If only the gifts and souvenirs had more options, we aould have brought a piece of the island back! We stayed a couple of nights in the Reef Suite (a little over AUD 1,500 per night). This is a truly exclusive and quiet place, I believe fewer than 150 guests stay here at a time, which makes it feel very private and special. The staff were all friendly, energetic, and super helpful, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The resort was exactly the short getaway we needed, and being right in the Great Barrier Reef made it unforgettable. The experiences themselves were incredible. We had never snorkeled before, and Oliver gave us excellent pool training — fun, encouraging, and confidence-building. He even prepped our new goggles a few times so they wouldn’t fog up. We snorkeled in the lagoon, joined a reef walk, and took a night glass-bottom boat tour where the corals glowed under UV light. The next day, we spotted turtles, octopuses, reef sharks, and more. Special thanks to Jon and another guide on the day glass-bottom tour who patiently reassured us when we struggled with technique. Their encouragement gave us the confidence to snorkel the full hour. That said, a few things could be improved, hence the 4 stars. The food was underwhelming for the price point, and we weren’t informed in advance that activities had to be booked, which could mean missing out. On arrival there was little orientation, so we had to figure most things out ourselves, even finding our room. No one told us baggage collection required an hour’s notice, so we ended up dragging our luggage across the grounds and leaving tracks in the coral sand (something we felt terrible about). What we appreciated the least was the stress over our connecting flight. We had informed staff at check-in that we needed to make a 1:45pm flight, and expected this to be taken into consideration. Yet no one seemed aware of it, and when our plane arrived late, we were reassured multiple times that we’d still land before 12:25pm. In reality, we touched down after 12:45pm, leaving less than an hour to catch our next flight. If we hadn’t desperately tried to check in mid-air (battling poor reception and repeatedly reconnecting just a few hundred metres above ground during flight) we would have missed the flight. We expected clearer communication and coordination to be a given. All in all, despite these hiccups, this was an extraordinary and unique experience. We’d absolutely love to return — next time with our family, so they can share it too.
