Located at 2090 Broke Road, Pokolbin, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 I came to these gardens with my group of approximately 35 people, including people with walkers, to see the Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Lights Spectacular. It was well worth the visit. I absolutely loved it. For the most part, it is accessible for people with mobility issues but there are steps situated around the displays meaning backtracking was required in some instances. Not many though. There’s a couple of toilet 🚻 facilities located at the entrance and about half way through. There’s food vans near the Ferris wheel but they were closed when we went (about 8.30pm) . The amount of work and preparation that had to go into the displays is astounding. So many figurines lighted up. I really enjoyed my visit and took so many photos so remember to bring your camera and make sure to charge your battery in phone because there’s plenty of photo opportunities. Night Entrance (best for this Spectacular to get the full effects fees are - Adults (16+ years) $40.00 Children 4-15 years) - $30.00 Families (2 Adults, 2 Children) - $122.00 There’s always plenty to see during the day also. I would definitely recommend coming here, at least once. A BIG Thumbs up! 👍👍👍

Beautiful well kept gardens of many themes. Well worth the admission price. Extremely picturesque. Great for photo shoots. Great for exploring and enjoying the views and beauty of curated nature.

The gardens were an absolute blast, with so much to explore. Walking through the various themed areas, I felt like I was in a fairytale. The lights display at night was a mesmerizing experience. I definitely took a lot of photos to remember this fantastic trip.

Good venue , about a 5 to 10min walk to where the car was parked because there was heaps of people there. I reckon about 40,000. The concert was really good. The best Act was Vica and Linda Bulla with the guy from hunters and collectors , they also had the church band , and another brother and sister Act , and the last Act was crowded house. Venue was good. We went to the mosh pit at the first band on which was great. We're really close to the stage and it wasn't too crowded but as the afternoon went on it got more and more crowded in the mosh bit and there was a bit more push and shove. Still a great day out and I would recommend it. Certainly if you want to watch some bands and have a good time. Five stars.

Attended my beautiful friends wedding here! What a gorgeous location for such an event! The gardens are truly breathtaking. So many colours, smells and vibes!

HVG is such a great spot to spend time - great cafe, beautiful setting and fun shops. The Christmas Lights spectacular is on again and its beautiful for 2025! Lights were gorgeous even at 6pm when we got there for younger kids (all the growth in the garden makes patches dark enough to see them). Well worth a day out.

We came here and Eve did the tastings for us, great service and super kind. She was very helpful with anything we needed and on suggestions! While Scarborough is more of an expensive tasting compared to others, you do get the mini bottles to take home which are one standard each! The view was also really nice to take photos

Stunning location for a picturesque wine tasting. We did the 1 hr wine experience which consisted of a wine tasting with matching cheese. Our wine expert was Lilly and she made it an enjoyable experience. The wine (my fave the 2025 off shoot dry semillon) were delicious. Myself and a group of girls came for a tasting and were served by the beautiful Jamie! He was so attentive, knowledgable and funny! The wines were stunning, especially the ‘Obsessive Chardonnay’. Will be back!

Everywhere we looked, there was a sense of history and craftsmanship. The atmosphere inside seamlessly matched the breathtaking views outside — serene lakes, endless rows of vines, and distant mountain ranges that painted a picture-perfect backdrop. It was not just a tasting, but a journey through tradition, nature, and beauty.

The view at Audrey Wilkinson is absolutely stunning, with one of the best vineyard outlooks in the Hunter Valley. It’s the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The wines are of good quality, especially the Semillon and Shiraz, which showcase the character of the region very well. However, the service was just average. While everything went smoothly, it lacked the warmth and attentiveness that would have made the experience truly exceptional. Overall, it’s still a great place to visit for the atmosphere and wine, but the service could be improved to match the high quality of the setting.

We had a wonderful wine tasting experience here. The staff were very friendly and welcoming—despite us arriving without a reservation, they kindly offered to seat us. The semillon was especially good, and the staff were extremely generous, offering us more than the standard tasting. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up purchasing a bottle to take home. Matilda is a phenomenal host on our journey into the world of Tyrell’s wines. We have ventured into the wines of the Hunter Valley many times and this experience was up there with the absolute best and a definite highlight of our weekend away. Situated within a vintage style tasting room, we sampled whites and reds with a super in-depth back story and what to expect from the wines. We walked away with a much greater appreciation for wine and work involved, all through Matilda’s expertise mixed in with phenomenal knowledge. We will be back and organising an appointment for another fantastic tasting experience.

What a nice surprise. I wasn't sure what to expect from Tyrrell's cellar door but our whole group agreed it was one of our favourites. It is a very traditional setting with no flash tasting rooms but is set in one of their farm buildings. We really loved learning about the brands history and the impacts of aging on various grape varieties. Our host was amazing. Thank you Tyrrell's and I can't wait to buy a bottle of your vat 47 Chardonnay, just amazing.

We had an excellent private wine tasting experience. Every wine was delicious, but especially the aged Semillons. The winery is set on top of a picturesque hill overlooking the mountains. Highly recommend if in the Hunter Valley.

What an unforgettable experience! The hospitality we received during our premium tasting, hosted by Zac, was absolutely exceptional. We were welcomed into the exclusive Private Bin room, which we had entirely to ourselves. Zac’s extensive knowledge, not just of Tyrrell’s wines but of wine in general, was incredibly insightful. He went above and beyond to ensure our experience was amazing. Highly recommend!

I had an event at Leogate last weekend and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The staff went above and beyond to make the experience so special. The team at the front were incredibly helpful! The food at the restaurant was also amazing and all of our friends and family loved it. I don’t usually leave reviews, but Leogate truly deserves one. I look forward to coming back soon!

Delicious lunch, lovely wine and beautiful views of the vineyard and mountains!! We thoroughly enjoyed our night at Leogate Villas and our delicious lunch at the on-site restaurant "The Gates". We stayed as a Staycation midweek package, which was outstanding value. We arrived just after midday and had a wine tasting which was conducted by Todd, who was very knowledgeable, interesting and charismatic. We purchased a couple of bottles which he keep chilled for us whilst we had lunch. Our two courses were part of our package and we also were greated with a complementary glass of bubbles. House - baked bread was quickly brought to us and we ordered our entree and mains and 3 sides to share. The Oysters were delicious, I opted for the mixed half dozen. The kilpatrick were my fav, as was the chimichurri. We also both had the veal cutlet which was cooked to perfection and was accompanied with asparagus, king brown mushrooms and delicious marsala cream sauce worthy of licking the plate. Our sides were also delicious and we packaged up what we couldn't eat and swiftly checked into our accommodation. Unfortunately, we could not fit in dessert and as it was our Anniversary we were celebrating, we were disappointed because often the chef's surprise you on a dessert plate with something of sorts in celebration. Also in our package we received 6 bottles of wine and a cheese platter. Excellent value. We loved our stay. The view was beautiful, the bed was comfy and the wine tour the following morning was educational and fun. Highly recommended!!

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary yesterday and the whole place was beautiful! Lovely room with a stunning view. The best place we've started so far in the Hunter and at a very reasonable price. The two staff were very friendly and helpful upon check in too! Will definitely recommend and return.

This was my second stay at Leogate accommodation, and both visits have been nothing short of amazing. The villa is stunning, with breathtaking views and a sleek, modern interior. The location is also perfect—close to other wineries and convenient for getting around. Highly recommend!

A driver's drive, beautiful road, and best to have both hands on the steering...for the majority of the drive😉. Wolombi is a beautiful, quaint little village, unspoilt and extremely friendly people. Awesome general store, church, great museum, wonderful art gallery showcasing original work with a rich aboriginal history - stop by and say hello to Lynn, lovely lady with a genuine passion for the arts. You'll find her sat in the gallery working on beautiful painting! Awesome place to spend a weekend or an ideal stop before delving into wine country!

It was awesome... We have been traveling to hunter valley from last 5 years but never took this route... We loved it... No traffic.... Just that you will have to be aware as there are lot of biked in this route.. So be careful while driving.... It's a very scenic route and you will come across lot of small beautiful towns and Cafe..

I wonder what the hype is all about for this drive. It's just another quiet country road. Nothing (except the tavern) was open at 4 pm by the time we arrived at Wollombi. We went in search of a cup of coffee but couldn't find any. Really, it's nothing to shout about, so don't raise your expectations too high from all the 5* reviews.

Heritage town with unique boutique shops. The area has plenty of places to pull over and stretch the legs. Toilet facilities are located in the park with soap and paper towel.

Tourist Drive 33, Sydney to Hunter Valley Great alternative to driving up the highway is to take Tourist Drive 33 through some really nice farmland and towns. There are a few places to stop such as Thompsons Bridge, Trading Post (for coffee or a drink in the rustic terrace, then just walk around), then there is the town of Wollombi, where you have a variety of cafes, a pub (where they were playing 2-up on Anzac Day), and restaurants including Myrtle & Stone which has a good selection of meals and great service, with 2 wrap around balconies and garden terrace out back. #TouristDrive33 #MyrtleandStone

We visited the winery 4 years ago and had a great time. Lovely location and intimate setting. We opened a sémillon bottle tonight and it was even more delicious than when we first had it. We definitely should come back!

Beautiful outdoors, fantastic countryside views from wherever you look. Very excited to find the square Wombat poo too! We loved having Cooper coming to visit even though he jumped on our bed with filthy paws 🐾 The cabin was pretty well equipped, needed a good clean, I am allergic to dust and needed my puffer a lot. Sadly the bath is unusable, very dirty and peeling. Shower is great though. Plenty of clean towels. Hard to use the loo as it is made for men of 6'5" plus tall, but that is all part of the fun and we had a little step in the boot of our car, luckily 😉. Peter and Jane are really lovely, helpful hosts and very knowledgeable about everything you want to know. We very much enjoyed their cellar door too. I would suggest to bring your own pillows. Maybe I am too fussy, was expecting a little more from a 4 to 5 star place. Still, you should stay for the beautiful surroundings and it is fantastic for dog owners. (As long as they have good recall) It really would be fantastic if there were sunloungers or hammocks to take advantage of being outside of this delightful cabin.

Came here to do a wine tasting with my friends while we were camping close by. Highly recommend! Love how intimate the session were, we got to hear lots about their wines and stories about their winery. Their adorable pup Cooper also joined us, was definitely one of my best wine tasting experiences.

Peter and Jane have such warm hearts and are extremely kind natured. They are tentative with their service, generous with their tastings and their wines are simply divine. This was our second visit and we will most certainly be back! Thank your for making our engagement so special🤍

Not like other wineries, in a good way! Such a uniquely intimate and personalised experience, the couple here are so friendly and let you really embrace their lovely property. The wines are all as natural as can be and you can taste the difference. Would recommend!!

Peter couldn't have been nicer. I was held up and my wife and him spoke for ages before I arrived. Loved the wines, the scenery and the company. We even had some kangaroos chilling by the Vines. Would recommend stopping off and visiting well worth the trip!

Went in to stretch our legs during a long and rainy drive. The lady working here was fantastic, invited us to go into the free gallery then sent us of with some extra information, booklets and dinner recommendations.

Toilets. What else would you need after a few hours in the car. No need to spend up just have an empty and be on your way. I presume there's some interesting info in the visitor centre. Hopefully, we will one day have high tech cameras that can capture the beauty of the orange pigface. Isn't the human eye an incredible sensor? These orange pigface are not at the visitors centre. Anyhow you've had something to read whilst you have a dump.

Located in the quaint regional town of Singleton is the largest sundial in the southern hemisphere. A must for all looking to explore the charms of regional Australia.

Worth a visit. And it's accurate. Checked against iPhone clock. Most certainly a marvel of engineering science. Free to visit.

Kinda cool.... to be honest I didn't realise it was a giant sundial and I think I only pulled over to answer a call on my phone.

Architecturally pleasing, very large in diameter and height, not the typical form you would expect from a sundial.

Once the BIGGEST BIG Sundials in the world but now it is still the BIGGEST BIG Sundial in the southern hemisphere and it is accurate !! A lovely sculpture, plenty of parking.

Catherine vale wines is one of the wineyards in the Broke region of Hunter Valley. Yes it is a longer ride than Pokolbin but it is worth it. We stayed on this wineyard overnight and Wendy gave us an excellent wine tasting session. The best part of our stay is the sunrise. We woke up early and just awed on the beautiful scenery.

Had a great wine tasting experience. Wendy is extremely knowledgeable and a very effective educator. Learned heaps and enjoyed the wines.

OMG, SIX STARS! I was travelling through and, after a particularly trying 24 hours, needed some medicinal cheese. I had the three cheese platter and chose my cheese. Amazing! Lexie served me and was absolutely delightful. I really didn't need anything else but, after a tasting, managed to squeeze in some gelato. The coffee was lovely, too. They have excellent outdoor seating, which curves around the building, so you have the opportunity for a quiet spot on week days. They are also pet friendly. You could spend hours looking at the items for sale. I will definitely be back, and I'll be having the five cheese platter.

We stopped at the Cafe on our way to Newcastle and had some afternoon tea. The Cheese tasting plate with 5 different cheese , biscuits and dip was plenty and really yum. It was enough for 3 adults. Coffee was really nice and the shop/cafe is very well done with beautiful seating and lots of little gifts to purchase as well as a selection of yummy cakes.

We found the cheese tasting experience really great and picked 2 of our favs to take with us. The lady was knowledgeable and helpful, which was fantastic. We ordered a pizza to share, and rightly so, it was very cheesy!! The shop has wonderful treats available for purchase - both sweet and savory and non food gift items. We enjoyed our time here and highly recommend

This was the highlight of our winter day trip to Musswellbrook. We wandered in, obviously looking slightly lost, to be greeted by the lovely Lexie, who explained how it all worked, reserved a table for us for lunch, then organised a cheese tasting. While the cheeses were delicious, the best part was Lexie’s enthusiasm, knowledge and passion for the product. We left happily fed & with enough cheesy goodness for many enjoyable feasts. Thank you for making it so enjoyable!

Charming little Cafe. I had a cheese plate with my choice of 3 locally made cheeses. Beautifully presented and tasted lovely. The Cafe itself has wonderfully crafted furniture pieces and antique decor. A perfect little spot to stop on your travels and enjoy something different.

Great place to stop for lunch. All our meals were delicious and fresh. The lamb was perfectly cooked and melt in your mouth. The lady who served us mentioned it's a new seasonal menu so go and try it! We bought some fudge to take home and can also recommend. We hope to be back again soon.

This place is INCREDIBLE! 😍 Had the best beef salad of my life, delicious mud cake for dessert and brought home some fresh goodies for the family - some of the best cheese I have ever tried. This cafe is a MUST when in the area. Super efficient service and lovely staff as well 👏🏼

One of the best horse riding experiences I've had! Are you an adult who is envious of the horse handling and horsemanship classes broadly available to kids?? - well look no further because this will give you everything you need through an adult lens. I learnt so much from the lovely staff and the horses were wonderful - responsive and gentle. Oh and the valley itself is gorgeous to ride through. I will definitely be back!

I've just come off the back of the most amazing horse camp experience at Chapman Valley Horse Riding and I only wish that I had come out to experience the trail riding and mustering sooner than I have. Chapman's has been hands down the best trail riding experience that I've had in Australia, it is so worth the trip and realistically is not that far from either Sydney, Central Coast or Newcastle. They've got camping sites across the whole property so go and stay the night out there - it's worth it. The horse camp was everything and more and my inner child is so fulfilled now. I'm one step further on my horse knowledge journey and the entire Chapman Valley team contributed to that. They're all such beautiful genuine horse loving people. They match a gorgeous horse to your riding ability and depending on that there's lots of trotting and cantering available and of course the most amazing walking through beautiful trails across their 6000 acres. It's not like a boring walk trail ride nose to bum situation at all. I would definitely recommend the horse camps, mustering, trail riding no matter what you're ability is the Chapman Valley Horse Riding team is there to support. I'm excited to head out there again already.

Absolutely loved chapman valley horse riding! I have tried a fair few trail riding places across NSW and these guys are by far the best! Every worker was kind, fun and absolutely loved their jobs- we were never made to feel like we knew nothing! Property is absolutely gorgeous and very large and the horses are so loved and carefully picked for each rider. Will be coming back!

I've just returned home after a truly wonderful weekend at Chapman Valley. I joined the adult riding camp (up to 6 riders) and we were joined by 2 wonderful guides. The guides were so supportive and encouraging which I needed as a beginner. It exceeded my expectations, and I look forward to returning for another weekend soon.

I just come back from the 3 Day cattle muster and i cant begin to explain what an incredible experience it was, from the Drovers quarters we stayed in to the food provided was not only absolutely delicious but the amount of food we had and the variety was great!! Peta, Sandra and Ana our guides were just the best not only with their knowledge but were just beautiful people and made the experience just awesome! Thank you ladies for all that you did to make the experience what it was, cant wait to do it all again with you all. xx

I was gifted 2 bottles of olive oil ( 1 x garlic 1 x chilli ) from Ford Muswellbrook when we picked up my husbands new car…. I have spent my entire life using woolies brand olive oil and will NEVER go back. I have just ordered my 2nd 2L bottle of olive oil and tried multiple smaller bottles of other flavours. Such brilliant quality and has changed my kitchen. Love a good local product!!!

Called in today could not fault it. The most welcoming friendly staff, clean facilities, had a picnic lunch relaxing in their outdoor area listening to the soft rustle of the leaves in the Olive trees. Purchased the most delicious variety of oils, dukka, mayonnaise, vinegar and skin care products.

We saw that this venue was highly recommended so called in whilst staying at Muswellbrook and were not disappointed. I am interested in various aspects of cultivation generally and found that most of my questions were answered informatively. The staff member who served us is a person who obviously had a passion and interest of her own for the products and so could speak from both personal experience and from the perspective of the production company as well. The shop has a wide variety of olive oils with a range of infusions, and most of these were richly flavoured whilst not overpowering the base olive product. Likewise, the vinegars were richly flavoured varying from fruity infusions to the more standard products one would expect to find. Other products such as farm-made Dukkahs were available and we were shown how to match the olive flavours to the particular Dukkahs. On the whole, this was a great educational as well as palate-pleasing experience. As someone else has mentioned, the prices were not cheap, but then neither was the quality!

I have visited Pukara Estate a few times now including their tasting room at Denman in the Hunter Valley and also at the various fine food shows. I must say their products always taste the same which is wonderful. Their cook book is full of ways to use their fresh extra virgin olive oil with fresh, clean food experience. 5 star!

Upon arrival was greeted by the most lovely lady who was very patient as we tried oils after oils and vinegar's after vinegar's. Bought 7 bottles and will be ordering more online as i could eat the caramelised vinegar all day!

Had a wonderful experience with the staff service, so very helpful and enjoyable to talk with. Sharna made us feel welcome. The wine and cheese board was delicious!!

Beautiful quiet winery. Amazing view and we could have stayed for hours. Served by Gretel who was personable and knowledgeable. Had a great chat from horse racing to nuclear power plants. Had the tasting and cheese platter. My personal favourite drop was the Winters Mist Merlot. $22 a bottle. Very reasonably priced.

We came across this winery unexpectedly during a road trip and were so impressed with the hospitality and service that we made sure to visit again on our way back home. We were thee wine novices that weren’t made to feel at all bad about our lack of wine knowledge and the wonderful hostess at the time patiently answered our questions and explained to us what we were tasting without making us feel inferior at all. As a result we all bought a couple of bottles of wine each and made sure to come back on our return trip to sample the cheese platter while sitting on their beautiful verandah enjoying the view over part of the vineyard. We will definitely visit again next time we are road tripping.

We were pleased to share this winery with our good friends. The wonderful Rivka effortlessly guided us through the tasting of these lovely wines, while we enjoyed a generous antipasto platter. We spent the afternoon appreciating the view along with the range of Two Rivers wines. Across our party we walked away with 2 dozen wines and great memories. We will be back again,

Idyllic, peaceful, clean toilets, and plenty of views, fauna, and flora to appreciate. Road in is a bit rough, take it slowly and its doable. We went in with a 7m motorhome.

Beautiful National Park, worth a trip if you are seeking a weekend away. Various facilities available and even a cabin for rent. Waterfalls are small but still very picturesque! Highly recommend

Total silence. It's a long drive but reward is satisfying. You may meet a oldguy there who's some months of the year there, he's friendly and teaches bushfood.

Some of the best views I have ever seen from a lookout. Walk down to pinnacles lookout and walk out on to the rock point. Well worth it

My wife and I had a truly wonderful experience at Robert Stein Winery, Vineyard & Farm. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. The wine tasting was outstanding — each wine was beautifully presented, and the quality was exceptional. We stayed for lunch and were equally impressed with the food and service. A special highlight for us was being joined by Dave, the friendly vineyard dog, who made the experience even more memorable. We left with a few of our favourite bottles and a smile on our faces. A must-visit if you’re in Mudgee!

A wonderful tasting, friendly winery hosts on our short visit to Mudgee and Orange from Sydney. We were astonished how fabulous the 'half dry' Robert Stein Riesling was. We wouldn't dream of buying Riesling at home in UK because we find it too floral, sweet and 'old school' Blue Nun but this wine was a revelation and we bought a number of bottles to enjoy and share with friends and family. Very classy.

Second time visiting. And it’s always an absolute pleasure. Tasty wines and cheese board is awesome. Dog friendly. Can get busy, because this winery is superb.

Such an amazing winery with an incredibly talented wine-maker. Well worth a visit. Tony is crafting amazing, bespoke wines using cutting edge wine making techniques resulting in beautifully complex wines that are delicious and special. Phenomenal wines at Short Sheep Micro Winery. Tony’s passion and knowledge shines through with the quality of wines. One of the best tasting experiences in Mudgee. If you can only get to a few cellar doors while in Mudgee, make sure you visit Short Sheep. Don’t be put off by the ‘Micro’ in name - it means care and quality in the wine making.

Wow I have no words to describe this place. Tony owns and runs this place and he is just so lovely. We did a tasting with complimentary food pairing and it was beyond our imagination. I've tried wines from all over Australia (literally) and this place was spectacular. Thank you Tony for introducing an avid red wine drinker to Chardonnay. I can't wait for my next wine delivery!!

Ah, this may be a micro winery but it is macro on everything else - from Tony's wonderfully engaging ability as a storyteller to his passion for his craft and discipline to let nature do its thing and of course, the wines - complex and delicious! We learnt so much about the various processes during our tasting but weren't overwhelmed with detail - the wines themselves shone. The reds in particular and those that had undergone wild fermentation were a delight for the palette. This place is absolutely worth a stop - do it!

A great little boutique winery, run by welcoming hosts offering a nice casual setting for wine tasting. They don't charge for the tastings, but you'll be sure to walk away with a few bottles. Really enjoyed their vermentino and rosés. It's small, quaint and cosy. Worth a stop to support an honest hard working small batch winery.

Good quick visit to the winery when in town for the food festival. A couple of interesting wines and explanations from the winemaker.

This is such an excellent winery. The bottles on offer for their tasting are all delicious, it makes it hard to decide which ones to buy. The most memorable was the pipeclay white, which was unique in taste and their signature bottle. They also had a great Chardonnay on offer. The staff are very welcoming, pleasant and fun to have a joke with. The place is set in a restored warehouse with old giant barrels lining the place. You feel like you walked into a museum. The pictures don't do it justice. This place is unlike any other winery in Mudgee. You just have to swing by.

I’ve loved Pieter van Gent’s port for years, so I had to stop by while coming down from Dubbo, and it was absolutely worth it! The winery has a charming, rustic atmosphere and the staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. Their range of wines is excellent, but the port remains my favourite, rich, smooth, and full of character. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates quality wine and a relaxed cellar door experience.

The most amazing vineyard we’ve ever been to. Had the best tasting anywhere we’ve ever been- Italy, France, South Africa, etc. Sarah went above and beyond, made us feel completely at home and was so knowledgeable. Best experience, we’ll be back for our next Mudgee trip!

The staff are lovely and very engaging. The man that was helping with our tasting was so interesting that our son put his iPad down. He deserves five stars! Sadly, the winery we used to love has changed. The wine just isn’t the same anymore. It’s a beautiful place to visit. Hopefully, this will change because it would be a shame.

The best place for wine tasting in Mudgee! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere itself was unique that felt like you’re on another planet! The wine was impeccable! We had such a lovely time at Lowe Family Wines! The picnic hamper was really good and paired perfectly with the wines. Fretta was so nice and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The winery itself is absolutely beautiful with breathtaking views, and of course the wine was fantastic. Such a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the day—highly recommend!

We booked a last-minute wine tasting and Deluxe Hamper online, which was super easy. Amelia hosted our tasting and we also spoke with Brian, both were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, we learned so much. The wine and food were fantastic, and the view over the vineyard was just stunning. Such a wonderful experience, we highly recommend Lowe Family Winery to anyone visiting Mudgee!

We always visit Lowe Family Wines on our getaways to Mudgee and it is fabulous every single time. Our latest visit included a ‘let the chef and winemaker choose’ lunch. So much fun. Such great food and with the winemaker, David Lowe pouring for the long table of around 40, great wine was flowing. Such a great experience in a really beautiful, family owned winery. You can’t help but feel absolute joy! These guys put their heart and soul into what they do and their hospitality is next level. You feel like one of the the family. Love it. A Mudgee must!

A truly amazing place with beauty and character and decades of experience behind the process. David Lowe has incredible vision and is using a sustainable energy approach to his whole production cycle. Visiting was a revelation and a truly immersive experience.

Had a wonderful tasting at Lowe Family Wine Co today. The setting is beautiful, and our fabulous host, Elle, made the visit memorable with her warm, fun, engaging approach and great knowledge of the wines. It was relaxed, informative, and a lovely start to our day in Mudgee. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re exploring the region.

Our favourite winery in Mudgee by far. Lovely views, amazing wines but what brought the experience to another level was the expertise that Brian brought to our wine tasting. Walked out learning so much. Brian did an amazing job describing the wines in scientific but fun way. Came during the week. Would recommend booking ahead as this is not one to miss!

A great place to just relax and enjoy a lovely antipasto platter and a nice glass of wine. I went out and did the Lowe Flow wine tasting with a lovely group of people from Dubbo and had a blast. The sommelier was amazing and very informative on what we were trying.. will definitely be back!

Great spot close to road

Great roadside stop. We slept the night cause I couldn't drive anymore. Bbqs worked, great shelter over 2 bbqs with bench seats and tables each side, a mother's room, and toilets for both genders. BUT... NO WATER, SO THE TOILETS WEREN'T FLUSHING. Couldn't use taps either. Thankfully I carry my own water jerry full of water, but alas, I'd done my number 2 before I knew about the no flush. I'm sure it's clean and fixed by now, I checked other toilets after that, and none flushed. I'm sure it's fixed by now, cause they are very well maintained, clean, no rubbish. We were there the night of 14th,morning til lunch of 15th. Plenty of space. A great stop other than the lack of water side of it for loos. I will definitely stop here again.😊

Pretty spot for a loo! Clean, has paper, smells lovely. Water in sink in Mother's Room, Bbq area, plenty of parking. Historical interest "beyond the black stump" and native birds. Bins! 4G 4 bars! Some scrag proceeded to smoke a cigarette on the loo leaving it ashy and stinking. You suck! I picked up the other rubbish and binned it.

Great rest stop. A little further down the road is Coolah where you'll find the Black Stump Hotel. Lovely town with a great local art and crafts gallery called Pandoras.

Toilets were very clean. The History of the Black Stump is displayed on a sign and replacement stump displayed as the original was lost in a fire. There is a BBQ and picnic tables with nice views. We visited there on our return trip on holidays and now we can tell our friends we wend "Beyond the Black Stump".

How many of us know that AUD 10 note featured a portrait of Henry Lawson, an Australian poet and writer, along with images of buildings and bush scenes from Gulgong ! The museum takes you back to a bygone era … the doll collection, vintage candy shop , amazingly preserved cottage. It’s seems a piece of time has been frozen and well preserved. Items and well preserved and documented. Please visit the town and take a tour of the museum.

What a great spot to stop and see some of the local and Australian history. So much to see. Old vehicles, clothing, cameras, projectors, coins guns and heaps more. So glad we stopped. 15 dollar adult entry. Worth every dollar. Easy wheelchair access. Maybe a bit tight I side and some steps inside but would see most of it.

The most impressive Australian historical museum I have ever been to in NSW. It covered absolutely everything you could imagine. You need at least 3 hours to see everything properly. There is a lot of love and pride in this museum and the $15 entry fee is way too low. Highly recommended!

i love this place. i’m from penrith but a very big history nerd. i’ve visited three times and im still in awe every single time. such an amazing museum for so cheap. my favorite is definitely the doll room :)

This is a wonderful place to visit, you can easily lose yourself in times gone by and revel in the nostalgia. There are thousands of items in a kind of labyrinth-like display that meanders along creaky old floors to showcase beautifully set up rooms that graphically illustrate the way of life of early Australia. Highly recommend a visit but set aside at least two hours to thoroughly immerse yourself in the history that this place offers. Good value entry fee and staffed by friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. This was our second visit and still we are in awe of the place.

Have never seen so many different things to see in one place! The collection is huge! It’s so well set up and laid out. There are tractors and all types of farm equipment, horse drawn vehicles, old house hold items like record players and radios, fossils, sporting artefacts, toys, even buildings from the 1800s set up as they would have liked. I would never have thought so many items could fit into one museum! And it’s affordable to visit. You can get a ticket and leave and have lunch and return. How good is that! Well done to all the wonderful volunteers who look after this wonderful museum.

Small museum devoted to Henry Lawson. Lots of art work matched to his poetry, which I really enjoyed. It was fabulous to see something apart from a heritage museum in a country town. Congratulations to the volunteers who put this together and to those who maintain it!

Very interesting display. Learnt a lot about Henry Lawson that we didn't know before. Staffed by volunteers who do a great job. Lots of photos and stories of him and his family. Also, Gulgong is an interesting historic town.

We suggested to a few of our guests that they visit the Henry Lawson Society Centre here in Gulgong. They returned back to the Gulgong Motel and thanked us as they really enjoyed their time at the Centre. I visited the museum in March 2022 and developed a fascination for Henry Lawson. I gave a talk about him at my village today.

A great experience. Staff are fantastic and so enthusiastic and evidently passionate about what they do. Heating up food seemed to keep the staff overly busy and they could consider a way to get this done quicker or have pre heated food and maybe pre made sandwiches? (Just trying to help...) Would come again to see the other cave, we saw cathedral and it didn't disappoint.

Loved this place. We spent the whole day here and did two cave tours and the discovery show. Loved the caves however they are both quite small. They are both very different, yet equally spectacular. We are lunch here and looked at the fossil in the mini museum, great day.

We had a great time and spent 1 hour there despite missing our tour due to road closures. The interactive room is so good. The Japanese gardens are also worth a look and are across the road

Park was lovely green grass. Our site was on a steep hill so either way we put the caravan either the drawbar was on the ground or the jockey wheel was chocked up very very high. Playground is out of action and the pool was closed for the whole time we were there. Being the long weekend it was not ideal when you have little kids with you. Cave tour was ok.

We loved the Wellington Caves experience with Westie. He is a fun and lively local, and a great tour guide. We've traveled past the turnoff heaps of times and never before gone in. It's really worth it and something that should be in everyone's bucket list. Thanks also to the lovely young staffer who got us in to the tour as ring-ins. Paul and Michelle.

We didn't stay in accomodation, just came for the caves tours and loved it. Had 6yo & 10yr old, grand mother and us enjoy thoroughly. Tour guide was amazing & very informative.

I’m just appalled at staff who think it’s ok to talk to guests like a school child. Don’t turn up 7 minutes early for checking or you’ll be scalded. Don’t ask if the pool ca be opened a couple of days before October (even though it’s school holidays) or you’ll be asked questions like ”would McDonald’s let you in at 4am?” Well mane not mate, but at least they have customer service. Park is lovely itself. Bathrooms are clean but could do with some plumbing work. Cave tour, not cheap and honestly, meh.

Another great park well done to Wellington.What a great attraction. Well worth a visit well laid out and the children's playgroud is also clean and tidy. Toilets neat and tidy also Ather Two Thumbs up to Wellington.

A new and interesting playground under majestic mature trees. My 3 year old and 7 year old had a fun time playing on the equipment. It varies from having the soft and clean flooring to bark. The trees around this playground are phenomenal. I looked one up and apparently its a Himalayan Cedar right behind the wedge tailed eagle statue. The gardens around the park were well maintained featuring gorgeous roses. If the town now had a full paint job to match this incredible park it would be truly spectacular.

The children's play are was quite modern and relatively well kept. There were a few pieces of equipment that were broken, so caution is advised with young kids. Lots to explore for all ages, and there's picnic benches and shaded areas nearby, alongside toilet facilities. There's a small grassland area nearby too.

Great well maintainedcaravan park. Clean facilities. Sites for vans a little difficult to unhook if your provided a site not suitable for your size. Not sure how that happens when you provide your size.

Great little park on a main strip with a coles and other foods available such as bakery and kebab shop. A little walk along the park offers views of flowers, a children's playground, entrance to the local pools as well as a brief step in time to read about the history of the Wellington baths. If you're going to stop in Wellington for a breather its a great place to stretch the legs

Beautiful park , we had BBQ on the grill there one was working , I loved the stream and the water there , it's a good rest area between Orange and Dubbo , and it's close to food shops

Great little museum telling/showing the history of the area. Lot of money put to it, well done. It's worth checking out. Camping next door and Coo-ee museum/info centre next to that. There's plenty to see.

If you enjoy history and machinery, a must visit in Gilgandra for a very affordable $5 entry fee (kids get in free!). A great collection and well cared for, with labels and information for almost everything. We spent about an hour wandering through which was plenty for me, but you could spend hours there if you wanted to! It was great way to bring back some old memories.

Great free camping for self-contained caravans. Flat large sites. Obtain permit from Visitors Centre. Interesting exhibits in the Visitors Centre. Very helpful staff.

Up there with the best Tourist Information centres in Australia. Great, prompt and valuable customer service and knowledge. The historical displays were well labelled and told the story of the "Cooee March", an important part of this locale's contribution to World War 1. The indigenous and town stories were also displayed in easy format. Gift shop on site. Amenities are clean and well maintained. Off road parking is plentiful for vehicles and caravans. Mobility parking available.

Took advantage of the free overnight stay. 10 spots available, register online. A good spot, lots of 4g. Not busy. Convenient location on main street.

Stopped here for a quick break on the long drive north and were glad we did. Such a great information centre with an Indigenous history exhibit and installation on the Cooee March from Gilgandra, which we weren't aware of. Clean amenities and a lovely deck with cafe make this a perfect rest stop or spend a bit longer to take in all the information about this historical town.

Have not called in for a while. Amazing fixed displays especially the co..eee March. Also I loved the fossil exhibit. Went out back to the little coffee shop. The young lady was delightful Also the front desk inquiry officer was busy answering questions. Beautiful clean toilets. The ladies loo had a stunning photograph on the wall. Breathtaking

Gilgandra information centre is the most helpful centre I have used in travelling full-time over 18 months the lovely lady was so informative and provided incredible service Nicky couldn't of been more helpful in giving advice on places of interest to me spent her valuable time going through maps just a delightful experience which is appreciated and the town is such a nice place it's a credit to this shire and great they allow rv parking here on a nice flat surface
