Very welcoming and friendly service! Interesting stuff to have a look at. A lot of little things to buy.
Daniela R — Google review
Brilliant place to stop. We went to the toilets and looked through the store. They offer pies, ice cream, coffee and cold drinks. Small but fascinating discovery centre- skeletons of fish and animals to see. Very well done and well worth the stop. Clean Aussie toilets (long drops), friendly staff and lots of souvenirs to purchase if you want/need
Kylie B — Google review
The Milyering Discovery Centre is somewhere you should visit. It has good toilets facilities, lots of handy parking, a free information/learning section, a well stocked gift shop, fresh hot pies, ice creams, tea and coffee all available for purchase. They also post the tides/swimming access times for snorkelling at Oyster Stacks.
David S — Google review
Very helpful staff - told us when to snorkel and which locations to maximise tides etc. They post the tides for the upcoming days which is helpful for snorkelling Oyster Stacks.
Holly M — Google review
Just had some magnificent phone support from Paula. She took the time required to explain the issue I had with the Booking System until I was fully aware of my options. What a ripping customer focused person!
Casta — Google review
Disappointing considering how significant the Ningaloo environment is. Stuffed animals were poor. A video was interesting. All in all, it was a very sad representation of a world heritage area.
David Y — Google review
Great! Very clear and detailed explanation of the areas we observed through the telescope. Enthusiastic commentary, very hospitable and easy to find. Thanks

Cape Range National Park

Nature & Parks
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Cape Range National Park is a preserved natural landscape featuring a limestone plateau sculpted by rivers and idyllic beaches. A WA National Park day pass or an annual RAC pass can be purchased for 50% off ($60) to access the park's numerous recreational activities, such as camping, fishing, swimming, snorkelling, spearfishing, bushwalking and surfing. Visitors can also watch turtle nesting and take tours while enjoying the pristine beauty of the fringe reef located right off the beach.
What an amazing place to visit. Truly spectacular. The landscape is timeless and the coastline is beautiful. I spent 6 days in Osprey bay and loved it. Swimming, snorkelling, fishing right from the camp. Hiking a few kms away through Mandu George, kayaking through Yardie Creek seeing rock wallabies and plenty of beaches like Turquoise Bay close by. I will be coming back.
Rhyno — Google review
Cape Range National Park is an incredible place where the outback meets the ocean. The red cliffs and gorges are stunning, especially at Yardie Creek where you can walk along the edge of the gorge and spot rock wallabies and birds. Just a short drive away, Turquoise Bay is perfect for snorkelling—crystal-clear water and vibrant coral just metres from the shore. The whole area feels remote and untouched, with beautiful walking tracks, quiet beaches, and amazing views. It’s one of the most unique national parks in Australia and well worth spending a few days exploring.
R S — Google review
We stayed at Osprey Bay and our campsite was within walking distance of the beach. Stunning ocean views. Table set up for perfect viewings of the stunning sunsets. Good (non smelly) eco toilets set up. It was blowing a gale while we were there though so not the best for snorkelling. Can't control the weather though. The other bays (especially Turquoise Bay) were stunning too!!
Brenda ( — Google review
Best place in western Australia for coastal and gorge hiking and marine life spotting
Annette L — Google review
Great place, but they really need more parking bays in all beach bays happy to pay to get in but packing bays have not changed in 12 year a danger for kids walking passed cars
Paul A — Google review
Wonderful park ! The best I've been visited in WA. I recommend to stay at least 2 nights just to enjoy the wild and to sleep near to the sea. It was amazing, and really relaxing. Buy everything before exmouth. Because everything is so expensive. 11$ for 10L of water when is 4$ in city 😂
Luca P — Google review
Love this place and the Ningaloo Reef. Sooooooo much to do here in the National Park. You need to buy a WA National Park day pass, or buy an annual pass via RAC for 50% off ($60). Camping, fishing, swimming, snorkelling, spear fishing, bush walking, surfing, watch turtle nesting, boat ramp, tours and a beautiful fringe reef right off the beach. About 60km bitumen road to Yardie Creek, but 4wd needed to go on sand. So many great camping areas all along the coastline. $11 per adult or $7 concession per night. Bookings must be done online. Telstra reception scattered, so book beforehand. Turquoise Bay & Sandy Bay are spectacular.
Raelene G — Google review
Offers excellent snorkeling and general swimming oportunities. The local marine life is diverse. A strong swimming ability is recommended as the current is very strong and can easily catch inexperienced swimmers off guard.

Beautiful drive! Breathtaking views of the canyon down to the ocean! Reminds me of west Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. The road is asphalt from the turnoff then turns into dirt and gravel. Very safe with turn around points and guardrails.
Guy A — Google review
Went here to do the 6.4km loop walk. A great bush walk with stunning views of the Shothole canyon. The drive in has amazing views and the walk is well worth doing if you are up to it.
Peter W — Google review
Great track along the top of the range. Plenty of spots to stop off and see the views. The only issue is the photos don't do the place justice. 6.8km walking track for the adventurous. If your wondering what is at the end of the track. An oil cap for an old exploration site.
Beven H — Google review
You drive up thinking, “Cool, another canyon,” and then boom — the world drops away like your motivation on a Monday. It’s stunning. Massive cliffs, red as Satan’s suntan, and silence so deep it’s like the world’s been muted just for you. Not a single soul around, which makes zero sense because it’s basically nature’s IMAX, minus the sticky floors. Bring water, bring camera, and bring your jaw back up when it hits the ground. 5/5 — pure, lonely perfection.
Wade W — Google review
Wow this is worth a drive up to look around. The last bit is dirt road but still worth the effort. Phone photos don't do it justice. Probably best to visit early morning or late evening for the best light.
Tomo T — Google review
What a gem of a location, about 15km south of Exmouth..You travel up the hillside up to the Ridge with stunning view of the canyon and progress to the plateau for opportunity to do some walks.
Michael B — Google review
This is a quick and easy way to get a taste of the majesty of WA’s canyon landscapes. Unlike Shothole Canyon a few km north, this road — partly sealed and partly smooth gravel — is accessible to and easy for 2WD vehicles. After climbing from sea level, the views of the canyons gradually begin to emerge on both sides, ultimately opening up into jaw dropping magnificence. Many safe pullouts are provided; please be mindful of others who may want to park. Keep your little ones by your side as the drop offs are often steep. The road is off the main highway 20 km south of Exmouth and absolutely worth it.
Marsha R — Google review
The drive is worth doing, the views are spectacular. Drove up to the lookout but didn't do the loop. Little Rocky and corrugated roads but any car would make it.

Turquoise Bay

Bay
Nature & Parks
Beaches
Tranquil bay with a picturesque, white-sand beach with clear turquoise water for snorkeling.
Awesome must visit snorkeling destination. Plenty of beautiful corals, fish and turtles (if you are lucky) to be seen. Depending on the time of day it can get quite busy with limited parking bays making things a bit of a pain. Designated parking bays so close to the water though.
Alister J — Google review
Best beach in W.A by far! The clearest, bluest water I've ever soon. Bring ya snorkel! You just have to pay the $15 National Park Fee to access the road and all if the beaches that run along it. But soooo worth it!
Laura C — Google review
Great place for a swim and snorkel. Go early to avoid the winds but other then that bloody primo spot for a couple beers too
Scott K — Google review
Maldives of Western Australia! It is definitely the best beach of the Ningaloo Conservation Reserve and it is easily accessible with no 4WD. Driving for more than a thousand km has never been so worth it. If you are looking for a piece of paradise, quiet and wild at the same time, this is the perfect place to go!
Alessandra M — Google review
The drift was great for snorkelling, plenty of fish and corals
Lucie — Google review
Had the beach to ourselfs with amazing views of the mountain range behind us. One of the best
Thomas H — Google review
Nice beach with little shade. Parking is very close and toilets are clean
Ralph E — Google review
Fabulous beach and snorkelling spot. Bay Loop is perfect, no waves, amazing marine life. Saw plenty of colourful fish, turtles, and reef sharks. Drift Loop is a bit more challenging as there is a fairly strong current so ensure you walk a little while and then let yourself drift. Beware of the rip towards the pointy bit between Bay and Drift as it’s dangerous to swim there.

Worth the stop and short walk up to the lookout. Some great WWII stories to read, very interesting. And great views, looking out to the ocean and inland too.
Angie D — Google review
Interesting information about a piece of Australian history I knew nothing about. But very disappointed to see that the memorial had been vandalised. Looked as though someone had deliberately driven into it, destroyed the memorial and left some pieces of their car behind.
Julie S — Google review
A great site for history and very well presented. A nice little spot to stop off when entering or exiting Exmouth. Parking down the hill and a small dirt incline path to the top. Great view, worth the visit.
EagleEye — Google review
This is a WWII Memorial near Learmonth RAAF base south of Exmouth which commemorates Operation Potshop, a secret US Navy submarine re-fueling facility located here between 1942-45 as well as Operation Jaywick, a secret raid of Japanese fleet in Singapore Harbour which was launched from this location in 1943. There are panels with information describing both operations as well as the daring but failed Operation Rimau, a second raid attempt of Singapore Harbour in 1944. Other war era information is worth a read, including the interesting American influence and contribution to the township of Exmouth. All makes for an interesting 15 minute stop along the Exmouth-Minilya Highway just south of Exmouth. Those with interest in WWII history will appreciate the brief stop here.
Brad — Google review
Great little spot. Just watch out for the path up, quite steep at the top.
Claire ( — Google review
A great read around our brave soldiers who fought for us in World War II and terrific history of the development of the submarine base and Japanese bombing in 1943.
Greg C — Google review
There is always something new to learn. And when it comes to the brave men and women if WWII we will remember them. This memorial is about how the special forces snuck into Singapore and used mines to blow up Japanese ships.

Yardie Creek campground

Campground
Nature & Parks
Bodies of Water
Average sized camp spots. I was lucky to have a spot backing on to the beach. 1 long drop toilet or short walk to the larger block of toilets, which are cleaner. Short walk to the start of the Yardie Creek Nature Walk and Gorge Trail. If you intend on visiting the other beaches/bays along the coast and driving back and forth to camp, I recommend fuelling up in Exmouth and also carry full Jerry Can, as it's an hour drive to/from Exmouth.
Angie D — Google review
Throughly recommend this campground, especially out of season when it is a little quieter. $30 per night for 2 people unpowered is a bit steep but you are paying for the location and it is stunning. Really nice tracks give great views across
Imogen W — Google review
Really nice camp, drop toilets, camp hosts keeping an eye and cleaning toilets, this is the last camp you can access from the north on sealed road as there is a sand crossing over yardie creek that is sometimes uncrossable and if it is requires at least 4wd. You must book ahead! All these camps get booked up well in advance but keep a look out for cancellations as thats how we managed to get a space, however the website is terrible as you have to select the date each time for the camps to see if theres space as theres no calendar feature. Really nice beach for a sunset or fishing and has walks nearby. Great spot if you can get in!
Dean P — Google review
A beautiful remote caravan and campsite right next to the beach. Long-drop NPS toilets and no power. Bring your own water requirements. Good easy protected swimming. Lovely nearby gorge to explore with a population of black-flanked rock wallabies. Also fruit bats and nesting ospreys.
Olivia W — Google review
Great campground to stay at if you want to cross Yardie Creek at low tide and take the off-road tracks through to Coral Bay. Toilet facilities only (long drop) no showers and you need to bring your own water. Make sure you book in advance!
Kel S — Google review
Camp sites are reasonably small. Would not recommend for tents as ground is concrete under the soft sand. Has one drop toilet. No showers or water on site bring your own. Also can get very windy as it's right on the beach. Close to the Yardie creek walk trial and incredible views of the milky way.
Christian H — Google review
This is just a GREAT campsite just next to Yardie Creek. There is excellent hiking and swimming opportunities as well. The bush loo is clean and some of the sites offer good shade.
Ole P — Google review
Great secluded spot to camp! Being so far away from Exmouth (about an hour drive) there’s no light pollution so you can see a lot of the Milky Way. The site is right next to the beach and short walk to Yardie Creek, the gorge and rock wallabies. There’s no running water on site so make sure to bring plenty with you. We also heard it’s important to book in advance as this is a popular spot

Ningaloo Marine Interactions offers an unforgettable experience at the world heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef, one of the largest fringing reefs globally. The reef boasts 300 coral species and 500 fish species, making it easily accessible for snorkelers. Spanning over 600,000 hectares, the marine park includes renowned areas like Red Bluff, Cape Range National Park, and the Muiron Islands.
We booked this Manta tour super last minute and decided to drive down to coral bay from Exmouth. This tour exceeded both of our expectations! Ellie, Ayla and Naomi were so lovely and so knowledgeable about all of the wildlife on the Ningaloo. Cole managed to find us humpback whales, dugongs, and some of the clearest visibility turquoise blue snorkel spots we have ever seen. An unforgettable day out. Thank you so much for loving what you do and sharing it with us! xx Adriana & Hannah Adelaide, SA

What an amazing crew!!! Had an amazing day snorkelling some of the most incredible reef, swam with Manta Rays AND a Whale Shark! But just as impressive as the incredible natural wonders we experienced was the crew! I can not speak highly enough of Fraser and the girls! Their attention to detail, patience, knowledge of the sea life and ocean was absolutely amazing! They made the day super fun and relaxed and we were treated like royalty! If you’re going to do a tour and you want the best, these are your people! Great photography too!
Mark C — Google review
Did the manta tour twice in a two week period with our 7 month old. 100% most amazing experience! Two completely different days with different interactions, making it so worth it. We’ll be booking again every time we’re up without a doubt. Everyone was easy to chat to and knowledgeable, the photos they take are incredible and free. Just book it.
Jorji H — Google review
We super happy to have chosen Ningaloo Marine Interactions. Visiting at Ningaloo Reef for the first time, we were keen to do one of the boat tours. Being two families with several kids aged 7, 9, and 13, not all being strong swimmers or confident snorkelers, I realised a humpback whale swim or even a whale shark swim wouldn’t work for us. (Those tours go out past the reef and need you to be a confident swimmer and snorkeler to participate.) So I was thrilled to find the Manta Ray Experience with these guys. The tour hosts 20 participants, and they looked after everyone perfectly, especially the little kids. The whole day was so enjoyable. We swam in three different locations: firstly to go visit a shark cleaning station … the shark was there getting his regular clean from other fish; secondly, to swim with a very athletic and friendly manta ray; and lastly to swim amongst hordes of fish and loads of coral. Great staff, hospitable and knowledgeable. Oh, and the boat is a large catamaran and therefore quite stable - important for my daughter and I who sometimes suffer from motion sickness (ie. we didn’t). Another plus is the staff take professional photos in and out of the water, and clients have access to all the photos as part of the package. Would go with these guys again for sure!

MUST DO tour with specifically this company ! Lili, Naomi and Fraser were incredible. Very kind. As marine biologists they have a lot of knowledge, took us to the best spots and guided us making me feel safe and comfortable. Got to swim with mantas, sharks, turtles, lots of beautiful fish and coral. Also saw dolphins, dugongs and humpback whale !
María I — Google review
Joined a Ningaloo reef and manta ray tour in November 2025. All in all, it was a great experience. Staff were super attentive and knowledgeable, clearly passionate about the reef and the marine life present there. Really went the extra mile to make us comfy and enjoy the tour. Only 8 people on the tour and like 3-4 staff. We managed to swim with manta rays, small sharks and a sea turtle. Saw plenty of colourful corals. Equipment and boat were very much up to standard. Food was good. Compared to other tour experiences, the food and snacks here were not plenty. Throwing in a few sodas may have been nice. Our last snorkel session felt a bit rushed. It would have been nice to be briefed about the amount of time we’d be spending in the water. Looking forward to the underwater photos. Keep up the good work!
Robin T — Google review
It was a wonderful experience.. from the moment we got onboard until we arrived back at the dock 7 hours later, we enjoyed every minute! We’ve been fortunate enough to scuba and snorkel all over the world and this was one of the most memorable experiences we’ve ever had.. the reef and the water were beautiful but the real attraction was the number of reef fish, turtles, octopuses, dolphins, mantas and sharks we saw! The crew was excellent and took great care of us! Highly recommended this adventure!
Richard K — Google review
Coming from Perth all the way here was a long journey and our Manta tour was meant to be the "save the best for last" kind of thing. Thought the manta swimming was incredible, even more impressive were the corals, different species of sharks and all the wildlife. I would always come again as everyone was very friendly (including our fellow swimmers) and it was absolutely worth the trip. Thank you NMI! *Just try to make your office more visible😅

Rob and I went on this amazing quad bike ride through the sand dunes at Coral Bay and let me say it was simply AWESOME! Our guides Chris & Rob were amazing and gave us an unforgettable experience while showing us some awesome sights with the opportunity to catch a gorgeous sunset! Thanks guys, highly recommend this tour…
Andrea S — Google review
Easy to give five stars for this tour. Chris our guide ordered whales, dolphins, turtles and that was before we got in the water. We were lucky enough to see four clown fish and other marine life on the snorkel. We felt safe and the bikes were super easy to ride. Such a highlight for our trip. So glad we decided to go on a whim. Special mention to Chris our guide who made the trip a great memory and is handy with the camera.

Fabulous. Chris was our instructor and was so much fun whilst still being professional. The views are spectacular and the snorkelling was sensational. Highly recommend this quad bike tour. We are both in our 60s and were well able to keep up so don't let age stop you from enjoying this great tour. Lorraine

My girlfriend and I had a blast on the Quad Bike Sunset Trek. Our tour guide Sam was awesome! Really funny and knowledgeable. He lead us through the National Park and stopped us at a few good look out points. We saw turtles in the water and an amazing sunset on the beach. I would definitely recommend checking them out for an adrenaline rush as well as scenic views of coral bay. Cheers m8

Totally awesome day riding the quad bike. Our guide Rob was excellent and a very friendly guy with good knowledge of the tour. Had so much fun riding through the dunes, although a bit bumpy in places just added more fun to the ride. Then got to stop and snorkel at Five Fingers reef, so beautiful even got to see turtles 🐢 would highly recommend this tour if anyone is looking for a bit of an adrenalin rush. Cheers guys.

Absolutely loved the quad trek with our family. Being a motorbike family already we had an absolute ball 🙌 the guides were awesome. The stops along the way were beautiful. Highly recommend sunset tour.

Equipment suplied was top notch and the bikes were comfortable considering the rough terrain. Highly recommended

Ningaloo Reef Dive & Snorkel offers an amazing experience with a friendly and supportive crew. The instructors are patient and kind, making it possible for nervous divers to enjoy the dive. The dive locations are stunning, and the lunch provided is great. They offer guided tours with plenty of flotation devices for those who aren't strong swimmers. The team shows great respect and care for the ocean, its inhabitants, and their guests.
We had the most amazing day seeing the reef up close with amazing guides and crew. We had an out of this world experience with the manta rays gliding slow and doing flips right under us. I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to have an awesome day out to explore Ningaloo. Oh and do your self a favour and buy the photos. $75 and we received over 200 of the most amazing photos capturing a once is a life time for us.

Very nice team! We had an amazing day on the boat. The diving and the snorkeling were amazing and so much fun. We were diving groups with 5 divers which was a nice small size. We saw a manta ray, sharks, turtles and much more. Highly recommended!

Perfetcly organized trip in a slightky windy November day (not ideal conditions). Despite the weather, the guides brought us to several magnificnet sites, ensured a close encounter with a school of mantas and led us to a secluded reef where we could lurk over a Tiger Shark ! All while infoming us about marine life, conservation and climate change. Great day !

What a fantastic time we had with Ningaloo Reef Dive. Very well organised and professional team. Vikki, Steph and the rest of the team were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience special. The kindness and generosity given to myself and my son will last a lifetime and we will be forever grateful . The diving and snorkelling was very special. We spent 2 days diving with the crew. We were very lucky to see numerous aquatic life. Including Leopard shark, reef sharks, turtles and the absolute stars Mantas. We were very lucky over the 2 days to have 3 on the first day and 6 on the 2nd day. The focus on conservation, whilst giving exceptional customer service is an absolute credit to them all. I would highly recommend Ningaloo Reef Dive to anyone visiting Coral Bay or the surrounding area of WA. Thanks again to all at Ningaloo Reef Dive. Ian & Alfie Ward

Had a great day out and we were also fortunate with the weather and sightings on the day. Several mantas for the snorkel, some sharks on the dives and some whale watching in between. Staff were friendly and helpful and all the guests returned with big smiles on their faces.

Awesome experience diving with this company. Good boat and good equipment. Safety is well covered and the dive guides are great. The onboard photographer is amazing and the pictures are well worth purchasing.

We went snorkelling yesterday as a family of four (kids 10 and 8) and it was absolutely amazing! The crew were friendly, professional, and made us feel completely comfortable in the water. The experience was unforgettable and we saw so much marine life. Highly recommend!

Ningaloo Coral Bay - Bayview is a laid-back resort with a range of accommodation options including lodges, cabins, houses, and villas. The holiday village offers something for every budget. It's conveniently located near the beach, bakery, bar, and general store. Families will appreciate the facilities such as playgrounds and a pool. The clean shared bathrooms and warm showers add to the comfortable stay experience. Visitors can choose from various well-equipped accommodation options across the park.
My best friend and I stayed in the Balcony Room at Bay Lodge and we had a great time. The room was clean, comfortable and well-equipped, with everything we needed to look after ourselves during the stay. It’s the kind of place where you maintain your own space, which suited us perfectly. The location is a big plus — it’s close to everything, including the beach, cafes, and tour pick-up points. We especially loved having a balcony to relax on after a day out exploring. Overall, it was a good experience, and we’d happily stay here again.

Lovely place to visit. Lots of happy campers. I had a powered campsite with water and it was really good. I only gave it 4 stars for the excellent site because it was tricky getting in as the sites are not very deep and cars are parked on the edge of the access roads. Otherwise once you are in it is VERY good. The toilets and showers are great and there is drinking water near the showers and the restaurant. The site water is good for washing but as it is bore water it varies greatly in quality. Always looks clear with varying temperatures. That’s why the owners go to great lengths to supply filtered drinking water which is excellent. Showers use bore water and I must say they were extremely good. Not any complaints there. The whole campground is super clean and tidy. The surrounding areas outside the campground have a holiday feel. Small shops and cafes are supported by a shopping centre with a nice pub and supermarket plus tour booking shops and medical services. Fuel is available and if you have a boat there is a very good boat ramp a few minutes drive away. The bay and beach are also top rated (by me). I will return!
Bob D — Google review
The location is amazing, however I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the amenities. The same dirt remained in the showers throughout our week-long stay, and toilet paper was left on the floors in the toilets without being cleaned up. For such a great location, the standard of cleaning was very disappointing.
Jordain C — Google review
Most expensive mistake on our trip so far. $62 for an unpowered site, and they don’t tell you there’s a huge mice problem. I understand there’s a difference between “mouse” and “native marsupial”, but when you have handfuls of them running through your campervan and you can’t sleep because they’re finding nooks and crannies you didn’t even know existed - you take the L and run away. We left before midnight, and can confirm the free camp 40minutes away is better for anyone not living in a completely airtight box. If you know there’s a problem, either fix it or warn your customers ahead of time so we can make informed decisions. Couldn’t even walk to the bathroom without running into at least a couple of mice.
Caroline T — Google review
If you love paying a lot of money ( the most expensive camp we had to pay on the coast for a unpowered site) and do not sleep a single night correctly because you Van is overrun with little mice, this place is for you !! If you have any doubts and with a campervan/caravan ect, honestly it’s not worse it. We were warned at the time of booking that due to the season they had "a small animal problem" and we had to keep the door of the vehicle tightly closed, which we did. Unfortunately when I come to mince, you can close what you want it’s would never been enough. And so now we are the proud owners of a little mouse that has adopted us and our van. Still there even after left since few days. All this accompanied by a campsite that was barely passable in terms of cleanliness. The bathrooms are really not the best we've seen along the way, and once again, for the most expensive price on the coast.
Lea A — Google review
Booked 2 Nigaloo villas via reputable travel agent. Marketed as 'ideal for honeymooners'. Not sure when the blurb was written, but not my idea of 'honeymoon' standard accommodation. Bathroom sink drain smelt badly and everything looked old and tired. As we had booked 3 nights here, decided to pay the excess and upgrade (at a high premium). Swapped to a brand new top floor 3 bedroom apartment which was a vast improvement. However, considering this slept 8, there was only 1 bathroom and no washing machine, yet it had a full size American style fridge freezer. The showers wasn't great, but did the job. It didn't bother us, but the area & hence our accommodation was susceptible to mice. We were provided with a humane trap that worked.
Cumbrian L — Google review
Pretty cool place, right next to the beach, easy access to tours and had a funky café near the front with rock lobster and crocodile. Was expensive and we couldn't use the water pump for the caravan as it was contaminated with salt water but there were drinking stations provided, a 1 dollar fee to fill up caravan tank per litre. Sites were huge which was a great plus.
Gurrl L — Google review
🐭🚨 Staying here was the biggest mistake of our trip. It was impossible to sleep because the grounds are infested with mice that climb into the car at night. There are hundreds of thousands of them. Our van was damaged because they chewed on the seats and cables. The showers and toilets were not clean either.

We had the most amazing trip with Sail Ningaloo and I can’t wait to do it again. Boat and crew fabulous, set in an amazing environment with the experience with creatures big and small far exceeding expectations. Was also great to have beautiful and well presented meals which factored in allergies of one of our family members!

Absolute dream trip, the 5-night excursion. Every day filled with spectacular snorkeling and diving on a remote, untouched reef. Great crew, food and accommodation. Recommend 100%. Can’t wait to go back.

More than one of us felt like crying at the end of our 5 night trip and I can’t think of the last time that happened. The very professional crew worked so well together. Dom has excellent boating skills and we felt safe in his hands steering us on the reef. Josh is a great dive master and his knowledge and passion for marine life shone through. Libby changed from mermaid in a wetsuit to deliver us food in a moment. None of them could have done more. We swam with a dugong, turtles, sharks, so many fish and such gorgeous coral. Whales broached and swam along side us. The sail with unexpected large wave and unintentioned splash of a resting honeymooner below decks was memorable. Such a fantastic experience.

A huge thank you to the crew of 'Shore Thing'. Jesse, Gloria & Zara, you guys are awesome, and you made my time on board very comfortable. The snorkelling was first class, and your expert knowledge and experience allowed me to see a great biodiversity of marine life on the reef. The food you served was delicious and the deluxe cabin was very comfortable. Thank you again for showing me around the Ningaloo Reef. I can highly recommend this trip to anyone, and I hope to be back on board again one day.

Trip of a Lifetime – Beyond All Expectations I write this review knowing full well how lucky we were – the stars aligned for us in a way that’s rare, and the chances of everything falling into place like it did are slim. But I wanted to share our experience nonetheless, because this truly was a trip of a lifetime. From the moment we set sail, it was clear we were in exceptional hands. The crew – Aoife, Gloria, and Hendrik – were nothing short of superb. Knowledgeable, professional, and full of fun, they made every moment on board feel effortless and special. It’s not easy to find three strangers you can spend five nights at sea with and feel completely at ease – but we did. Aoife, Gloria, and Hendrik, you are a class act, individually and together! Nature also played its part beautifully. The tides, winds, and marine life seemed to be in perfect harmony, putting on an exquisite show at every snorkel and dive site. From breathtaking underwater scenes to stunning sunsets, every day brought something magical. We know we were incredibly fortunate with the conditions, but even without that extra bit of luck, the care, skill, and spirit of the crew made this an unforgettable journey. Thank you for an experience we’ll treasure forever.

Awesome experience. 3 days on board Shore Thing was amazing. The crew Duke ,Bonnie and Tiahna just gave us the best experience The food was delicious the snorkeling was awesome and the knowledge and care the crew had for the reef and surrounds was first class Just a wonderful experience Thank you we will be back

A huge thank you to Cristie from Sail Ningaloo for arranging such a fabulous trip. When poor weather and other contingencies got in the way, Cristie called us with solutions, not problems. We'll never forget swimming with Whale Sharks and Humpbacks and everything else that Ningaloo reef had to offer. Amazing - thank you!

Favourite family holiday ever! We spent three days on the Shore Thing and loved everything about it. The crew took us to three sites a day for snorkelling and diving. All were different and it was great to have the knowledgable crew give us a good run down of what we could expect to see at each site. Under the water we enjoyed seeing a huge variety of different coral, hundreds of amazing colourful fish, sharks, turtles and manta-rays. A snorkelling highlight was the drift snorkel where we got dropped in the water and floated with the current just about some gorgeous coral and all the variety of sea life. From the boat we got to watch a pod of humpback whales play around for about 15 minutes. When we were not in the water we were on deck either sun-baking/sleeping/reading on the comfortable bean bags or day bed. Another highlight of the trip was the lovely freshly prepared food coming from the kitchen all day, from a substantial breakfast to freshly baked morning tea treats (ie mini carrot cakes, choc chip cookies), a huge satisfying lunch and a two to three course meal every night. Every meal was delicious and it was great fun to sit around the table with the other guests and crew chatting about the adventures of the day. The boat was super comfortable and the crew were friendly, knowledgable fun and caring.

Ayala was wonderful from the moment she helped us choose what your package to choose and was a fantastic guide out to the reef and was very knowledgeable with the coral and fish types and habitats It was very nice to have a enthusiastic and personable guide like Ayala who gave us a very memorable 2hr tour of the maze I would highly recommend this business to anyone visiting coral bay This experience will stay with us for a long time as we we’re lucky to see several green turtles and a plethora of fish

Unreliable openinghours. Closed at 12.30 yesterday, not 16.00. For doing another job was the explanation. I guess just not enough customers, the weather was perfect. Very very disappointing; we went out there for information the same morning and the (friendly) girl in the rental office didn’t tell us anything about closing so early. There’s obvious no competition so they can do as they like.

outrageous prices to hire a kayak - it’s $150 for just 3 hours, i can hire a whole caravan set up for less than that per day… wild for something so basic
Gemma T — Google review
We advised the young lady when we paid our $50 cash for 1hr kayak hire that we didn't have a waterproof watch and we would do our best to return on time and asked if we were a little late was that OK and she said yes. On return after pulling the kayak back up the beach and returning the life jackets the lady told us we were 1/2 hour late and asked for another $30 before she would return our licence that she had kept for ID. We disputed the extra charge and asked to see the time and she had been dishonest as we were only 20 minutes late. (A deliberately ploy we felt to ask for more money). As we didn't have any more cash she was reluctant to return our ID and said "well I can't really call the police can i", and she said she didn't appreciate the attitude from us. We definitely felt she had the attitude and was rude to us. Well if 20 mins late on a quiet day when there was no line up for hiring is a huge concern maybe some timers in the kayaks for those without a watch would be helpful. She also said that everyone tries to avoid the extra charge .....well we are not like others and we did our best to return within the hour. She spoilt our experience and we felt like she thought we were trying to rip off the business. Don't leave credit cards with them as I am sure they would apply extra charges and you would have no control over it.

The most expensive kayak rental ive seen in my life, 50$/hour shouldnt be okay. The girl that attended us was nice and informative but these prices are outrageous

A must do if you go to Coral bay! Kayaking in the turquoise water is awesome and really easy. You may see some coral while paddling on the kayak. A rope is provided to be tied up to a buoy so you can jump into the water and go snorkling around. It turns out it's not that hard to jump back on the kayak with 2 people.

This is the best and most popular coral viewing vessel in Western Australia as it offers a view from below the water line! Yes, you actually sit below deck and have almost a 360 degree view of the corals and brightly coloured fish. It's absolutely fantastic and really cheap.

We really enjoyed our semi submerged journey over Ningaloo Reef. Although a coral reef it isn’t colourful like the eastern states reefs but quite magnificent nevertheless. Coral Bay EcoTours offers a full-day trip from Coral Bay, lasting about 9 hours and including equipment, snacks, and transportation to and from the jetty. The tour provides an onboard photographer for an additional fee and offers a voucher if whale sharks are not sighted. Guests have had the opportunity to observe various marine life such as parrot fish, turtles, octopuses, stingrays, and sharks while swimming with manta rays.
As a family of four we just did the whale shark tour (7y/9y). Absolutely amazing! The tour starts by meeting the day before to fit wetsuits/ flippers to reduce flapping on the day. We met at 7.20 for a 7.30 depart to boat ramp. Starts by having a guided snorkel on the reef before the spotter plane heads out and we go to the deep blue waiting for a whale shark. We were very fortunate to see and swim with whale sharks, turtles, sharks and an abundance of fish! We did another snorkel on the outer reef on the way back. The staff are amazing, enthusiastic, friendly and engaged. We were lucky to have a great group. The food was fresh and delicious and we never felt hungry. We always felt safe, often a guide at the front and another at the rear keeping the gang together. They accommodated all levels of swimmers with some people using noodles. They were fantastic with the kids, didn't baby them and they had the same experience as everyone. This is an expensive tour but includes transfers, gear hire, spotter plane, on board photographer with photos included, lunch/ snacks/ drinks and trustworthy staff.

Best wild animal encounters I have done. If you are choosing between multiple options this is by far the best. Had the most awesome day out. Swimming with the whales was better than you can imagine. The crew were awesome, boat was really nice. And a big shout out to Pedro (Ship Hand) for going out his way to make sure we got the best out of the day. High recommend.

Incredible experience on the Ningaloo Reef! 🪸🤿 We recently went on the Marine Eco Safari in Coral Bay and I can’t express how lovely the crew were, so friendly and supportive as well as very informative and knowledgeable with the wildlife. I’m still surprised by how much time we actually spent in the water and just how much of the reef we saw! Multiple close-up manta ray encounters (bucket list worthy experience) including a mating train of three swimming together, as well as seven turtles, a shark, and by far the healthiest looking coral I’ve seen in Ningaloo. We also saw several humpback whales from the boat deck. The photographer did a really great job, but primarily took photos of just the wildlife (not many shots with people in) and was an additional charge - completely worth it though, I bought the package as the photos were stunning and reasonably priced! The boat itself (Thunder) was really clean and comfortable, although it did bounce around on the waves quite a lot so remember to take sea sickness medication beforehand! Snorkelling equipment was high quality - no complaints! Thank you! 🩵

I recently did the whale shark dive with Coral Bay EcoTours, and it was absolutely incredible! The crew were quick to get us out to the sharks — we ended up swimming with four whale sharks throughout the day. Every crew member was knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely caring, which made the whole experience feel safe, relaxed and unforgettable. We were also really well fed, which was a great touch after such an exciting day in the water! What I really appreciated is that a portion of the tour fee goes towards whale shark research. It felt amazing to know I was contributing to something important while having such a special, personal experience. I’d jump at the chance to do this again and would highly recommend Coral Bay EcoTours to anyone heading up this way. If you’re looking for something to do — this is it!

We just returned from an amazing day with eco tours. We took the full day manta ray tour. The whole experience was great, as a family traveling with 4 kids (including two toddlers) the team was super helpful with the snorkeling kids, really helping in the water, providing floaters, etc. first part of the day is snorkeling and getting used to the equipment, second part is a few rounds of swimming with the giant manta rays, they use a spotter airplane, and last part is another really nice snorkeling, we saw turtles, sharks, unicorn fish, and more. They also provide wet suits and all the snorkeling gear. Photography is by third party and not included. The whole experience was chill. A special thanks to the amazing guide Flor, who really helped the kids in the water, helping our 6 yo relax and enjoy the experience, even when they don't speak the same language l. Highly recommended.

It’s truly amazing what nature creates. The sea water is vibrant, sometimes calm, sometimes wild. The rocks here are so unique, unlike anything I've seen before.

The location makes for some very nice photos! Wouldn't plan to stay there for a long duration of time though (like we did). Best to visit at high tide! Wish we had of visited on our way into Canarvon instead of doubling back up once we'd arrived. Plenty I of space to park your caravan if need be. 😊
Alleesha E — Google review
It is an underrated place. The blow hole is amazing. You can get het up close and watch it. There was a coffee van in the morning for food and coffee. We went in the afternoon and it was not busy at all.

You have to be very careful walking to the Blow Holes from the carpark, but it is extremely well worth it. A spectacular coastline. Beautiful beyond words.
Helga S — Google review
Spectacular blowholes!! When you're from the East coast the sun setting over the sea is just beautiful, but the ocean water spouting out of the blowholes makes it so much more! Definitely worth driving off the highway.

They sound like a whale! The campsite nearby is a great place to stay. It's close to the 'aquarium' for snorkeling and the beach for relaxing.

Awesome! Haven't visited a blowhole this epic since start out lap from QLD. I guess if you go at the right time for the tides and swell it'll be best

Wow. What a fantastic place to visit. Interesting things to see and do for all ages. There are interactive displays, theatres, replicas of NASA Lunar Modules and even a gift shop with well priced souvenirs. All of this is operated by kind volunteers (who even more kindly opened the museum on a public holiday which was perfect for us travellers). Learning about the relevance and importance of Carnarvon in the grand scheme of space travel and critical communication systems was a surprise to us. Highly recommend a visit (or two)

This place is so good...my partner and l both in our 60's were transported right back to our childhood and all the wonderful memories of watching man walk on the moon. This extensive collection of everything from videos to photos and all the paraphernalia of that time is astounding. The interactive areas are amazing. We can honestly say that this museum is one of the best ever. Highly recommend a visit and allow plenty of time as there is so much to look at and do. Staff were so helpful and they are all volunteers. Just wonderful.
Megan H — Google review
We were there ten years ago, and a lot has improved since then. You can literally spend the whole day there exploring all the exhibitions. Be sure to check the opening hours; you don't want to arrive too late to explore the museum.
Peter T — Google review
It’s definitely worth a visit. The first section isn’t very spacious but has lots of interesting stuff to read. The second section is more playful, filled with interactive activities—feels a bit like Scitech. They even have arcade machines you can play on! The third section displays part of a spacecraft or something similar, but I didn’t get the full picture because I got there just before closing time. To be honest, I was quite into the merch—so I spent the rest of my time browsing the souvenir shop instead!

Great museum - much better than we were expecting. We arrived 40 minutes before it closed and didn't manage to see everything in time so we were given passes to go back the following day which we did. Could easily spend a couple of hours here, including time for the complimentary tea or coffee!

This Museum really deserved to be seen!! The history of the small town of Carnarvon meet with space exploration history as it deserves! You'll find a lot of information about space history but also a piece of the moon,NASA computer, full size replica of the Apollo command module with a real fun simulation and video games...and much! This place is crazy good and fun! Special mention to the volunteers not just because I had the pleasure to be one🫢🙂 but for all the great work they do together withthe best museum managers you can find!🌛🌛🌛

Absolutely loved it. So much information with a few interactive things to test skill and get a very basic feel for what the pioneers of space went through. These guys are on another level of mad. They, like other explorers before them, had no idea what to expect. The time, effort and work that went into it is just amazing. Full access for wheelchairs with the possible exception of a couple of things, but we were well captivated. Kids of all ages should enjoy. It was pretty busy, but at the same time, you weren't really waiting for anything. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Can't do enough. Complimentary tea and d coffee at any time if you felt like a break. A lot of it brought back memories. Check out the 1:1 lander, the lookout at the scale model to see the relevant sizing. There are toilets and a little cafe. $20 entry with seniors and kids cheaper, but we were there for 4 hrs, and probably could have been longer, but they shut at 4pm. Do yourselves a favour when I Carnarvon, drop in and take a look. Go earlier, as you'll be disappointed if you run out of time. For us, you're cheating yourself if you get there any later than noon.
Crian M — Google review
You walk in and your first thought is, “Great, another homemade museum built by someone’s retired uncle with glue and nostalgia.” You grab a coffee, ready to fake a polite smile, and boom—before you know it, some overly enthusiastic staffer drags you into the Apollo landing module. Suddenly you’re sitting inside what feels like a tin can of history, watching a movie that makes your inner child scream “To the moon!” The deeper you go, the better it gets. Machines, documents, interactive screens, and enough switches to make Elon Musk weep with envy. It’s hands-on, nerdy, and surprisingly emotional. You start thinking maybe humanity peaked in the 1960s and everything since has been downhill. If you’re anywhere near Carnarvon and even remotely interested in space, stop the car, put down your flat white, and go. It’s genuinely brilliant. Final verdict: 5/5 rockets and one small step for your weekend plans.

We were there ten years ago, and a lot has improved since then. You can literally spend the whole day there exploring all the exhibitions. Be sure to check the opening hours; you don't want to arrive too late to explore the museum.

The center collaborates with local communities to celebrate and share their stories and traditions.
My humblest thank you to Tiana for taking the time and talking with us about this country and your mob. I took my time looking around, watching footage and listening to stories. The stories brought me to tears. I am so disgusted at how your ancestors were treated, and still, it continues today. I adore my banana fibre and Kangaroo earrings and the fridge Magnets. We had a wonderful lunch at the cafe with the best scones I've had in a long time....lemon myrtle...and great lunch options all fresh and tasty. The gift shop offered many goodies from local artisans. Well worth dropping in!

We visited the centre today. Wow what an amazing interactive cultural learning experience. We had, the staff are amazing if you’re in Carnarvon don’t miss out. Go and have a look at this. You can learn some really valuable lessons about connection to mother nature about connections to our planet and the culture in our country. Thank you so much we had such an experience that it won’t be forgotten Mark and Heather Cooper

The place is beautifully designed with meanings and aesthetic. The museum connects you with direct testimonies by videos to the history of the region. If you want to listen to everything you'll have to stay at least 2 hours. I don't think kids will enjoy it, for teenagers and up. Nice art exhibition and gift shop. I liked the cafe with its patio.

Excellent. Stories well told by elders & history via information displays. Art exhibition was also very good. Later visited the 'Dont look at the islands' memorial which reinforced my awareness of the appalling way aboriginal people were treated just over 100 years ago.

Excellent art displays by indigenousartists. Very informative and interesting displays, videos and sound recordings about the history of the people of the Carnarvon and Gascoyne area. Well worth the time to learn about the areas history.

Do not miss this wonderful cultural centre, it's the best I've ever been to. What a great way to preserve your Elders' stories, experiences and languages, I feel very thankful to have heard them. Despite the hardships and the injustices inflicted on these generous people, their willingness to share and their positive outlook was humbling. I also loved the art gallery and sitting in the shade of the cosy cafe afterwards and eating delicious food. And experience not to be missed and well worth a little detour if you had planned to bypass Carnarvon on your travels.
Heidi F — Google review
I wish I had visited the cultural centre but it was closed for renovations, including the day we visited Carnarvon - 16 September 2025. There was no indication on the website that the centre was going to be temporarily closed. As a result, I missed a couple of activities which I otherwise would have scheduled had that information been available. I am very disappointed at not being able to visit this supposedly iconic centre and also the disruption and inconvenience to my itinerary caused by the lack of information on your website. If it were possible to give no stars, I would. Marian Shaw

It was off to the town centre for a bit of exploring and sightseeing including the Fascine and footbridge before touring the one Mile Jetty Centre and Heritage Precinct. The Café and Lighthouse Keepers cottage were closed but the pass lasts for two days so we decided to go ahead anyway and return the next day. At the museum we viewed the documentary on finding the HMAS Sydney which was very emotional. The next dat we returned and looked through the Shearing Hall of Fame and the Lighthouse Keepers cottage
Henry W — Google review
We had a fantastic full day of finding out about the local area and the fate of the HMAS Sydney II in particular. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the 3 museums you get access to for 2 days at one low price, were very engaging and well presented and the surrounds were neat, tidy and clearly signposted. There was a mix of indoor and outdoor displays and the passion of the group who makes all this possible is evident in their plans going forward. Their much-anticipated delivery and installation of another piece of Carnarvon history very soon, is exciting and the group is to be commended on their hard work to bring the community's past to life for the rest of us.

The museum and setting was excellent. Really helpful and informative lady at the desk who is also the caretaker for the heritage area. Spent 2+ hrs there. So worth the $10 entry IMHO. Like many, so disappointed that the wonderful 1 mile jetty, which has been damaged by a fire and then a cyclone, has been closed since 2017. The Cafe there was in a lovely location with great views. Obviously struggling with lack of staff (like so many places) so we were told it would be a 45’ wait for food. However we enjoyed the coffee, the scones were excellent as was the GF caramel slice. Would highly recommend this lovely place. Please support them in any way you can. Donate, hang out at the cafe, become a member of the Carnarvon Heritage Group Inc, and spread the word. Would be so so sad to lose this state and national treasure. Such potential for a northern ‘Busselton jetty’ complex.

My partner and I did the heli crayfish tour with Justin and we couldn’t recommend it more!! Justin is a very knowledgeable pilot/guide and took us to unimaginable places breaming with sea life and filled with hundreds of lobsters. We had no prior experience and felt in very safe hands and had great instruction from Justin. This tour is worth every dollar - if you ever get the opportunity just do it!! We are so glad we did and will be riding the high for the rest of our travels. Not to mention we will be eating lobster for breakfast lunch and dinner for next few weeks. Thank you Justin and Emma we will hold these memories with us forever and we can’t wait to try the spear fishing tour next time :)

Had a scenic helicopter trip on the 8th November this year. We booked from UK and from our first email to Jack we always got prompt replies with all the necessary information. He was helpful and friendly as well as professional. On arriving in Carnarvon we called in at the airport to see where we needed to be on the day of the flight. Jack was there and made us welcome explaining all we needed to know. We had never been in a helicopter before and this was amazing. We had a wonderful time and Jack pointed things out to us and answered lots of questions. We saw an awful lot in a very short time. I think you’ve got us hooked on helicopters! Thank you so much Jack for making this such a memorable trip for us, you were awesome. Lesley and Jeff Gould

Asked about historic buildings & sites brochure as advertised in 2024 regional booklet. Was informed no such brochure as “didn’t get around to doing it yet”. They instead suggested we look up the street art murals online! I said I had a few historic sites written down so would plot them on our map myself. We felt we were just brushed off! And when we went to the Jetty Historic Precinct, most museums seemed permanently closed, except lighthouse cottage & a cafe! We weren’t informed about the closures & felt we should have been, as they are a few kms drive from CBD.

Heard some very strange advice being given regarding camping between Quobba and Coral bay. Having come from down there and booked quobba campground the night before it was funny to hear one woman push the station camping rather than where the people were actually enquiring about... just thought this was weird. Otherwise heaps of booklets and whatever, made in China souvenirs. I think one rack of local made postcard sized artworks. Three people were helping two customers and we didnt wait around for help after hearing the kind of advice they were offering 😬

Carnavon Fascine is a picturesque waterfront area with palm-fringed walkways and vibrant bougainvillea, just a short drive or walk from Carnarvon Central Apartments. It's an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll, offering stunning sunset views and opportunities for picnics. The foreshore provides a peaceful setting to relax and take in the beautiful scenery. Visitors can enjoy well-maintained lawns, dog-friendly amenities, and historical points of interest along the walkways.
My daughter and I brought some fish and chips for dinner and decided to come here to watch the sunset. It was windy but a warm wind, and the sunset did not disappoint. Beautiful sunset, and the camera did not do it justice.

We visited the promenade walkway along the Fascine and enjoyed walks here during a recent stay in Carnarvon. Evening stroll after dinner was very quiet, only a couple other people out. RAC Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort

Resort hotel
Tours
Down-to-earth beachfront lodging with a dolphin research site, plus a restaurant and a pool.
Monkey Mia As we rolled down the hill into Monkey Mia, the ocean was like glass — the sight took our breath away. Warm weather, blue skies, sailing on calm water, and playful wild dolphins set the scene. With red sand dunes, white sand beaches, and an abundance of wildlife, we knew we were in for something special — and we weren’t wrong. Our days here were simple but perfect: long beach walks, a little fishing, snorkelling and refreshing swims in the clear, inviting ocean. We enjoyed a few drinks as the sun goes down at the Monkey Bar and topped off the experience with a delicious dinner at the Boughshed Bar & Restaurant. As we sat back and wandered around, it felt like we could have been anywhere in the world. The pace of life here is slow — maybe not for everyone — but it suits us perfectly. Monkey Mia has become one of those places we’ll always return to when travelling through the Northwest. As we walk along the beach, leaving ankle-deep footprints in the soft white sand, the waves gently roll in, washing away any trace of our steps. Until next time, we look forward to leaving our footprints once again in this magnificent place called Monkey Mia. Whist we aren't ready to leave yet but pur two weeks stay here is up, we are we are looking foward to our next ventures Great caravan park, toilets clean 3 times a day, great large grass area over looking and leading down to the ocean. Awesome camp kitchens and louge areas, friendly and helpful staff great food with plenty of options. The resort and caravan park are very well maintained.

Magical beachside stay with dolphins and nature RAC Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort was our eleventh stop on a campervan journey from Broome to Perth in July/August 2025. Monkey Mia had been on our bucket list for over a decade, so we were thrilled to finally be there. After the simple setup at Gladstone Bay, Monkey Mia felt like a fully-fledged resort. The campground is modern and well-equipped, with a restaurant, pool, camp kitchen, and spacious amenities. Despite its size, the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. We booked 8 months in advance and secured a beachfront site — and were rewarded with a dolphin and a pelican visiting the shore at sunset. Truly magical! The next morning, we joined the official Dolphin Experience, scheduled to start between 7:30 and 7:45am. At 8am, they announced the dolphins weren’t ready yet, but the coffee shop and merchandise were open. The session finally began around 9am, and our kids were already bored. You can stand ankle-deep in the water, and later move slightly further in — but no touching or feeding. Most people left due to cold feet. We recommend joining the second (around 10:30am) or third (around noon) session — fewer people and more sleep! Also, standing on the pier gives the best photo angles. On our second day, we did the nature cruise with Aristocat2, a licensed and family-run operator. It was a highlight — we learned a lot about Shark Bay and spotted over a dozen dolphins. All in all, we loved our stay and would recommend spending three nights at Monkey Mia to fully enjoy the experience.

The resort is in a beautiful unique location. We stayed on a non-powered campsite. The kitchen/cooking facilities and the pool were great. Showers were only cleaned once a day and were very sandy and dirty very quickly. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate at both the boughshef and monkey bar and the food was fantastic and the staff very attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend as a place to stay!
Alyce P — Google review
Location right on the besutiful beach here is stunning. Its worth paying more for the superior beach cabins. From here you can see the dolphins even from your bed, (obviously in the distance) Emus regularly walk through the site too & dogs welcome. Most of the other cabins dont have a view although there are some appartments on the front too. Staff ok. If having breakfast included, the portions are very large, but the kitchen staff are inflexible over which items you can have/swap etc. Had steaks one night in restaurant and they were reasonable.

This is a 5 stars Caravan resort. Charged $60 for power site. Toilet and shower are new and very clean. They even open the door for you upon entering or leaving the receptionist. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Excellent location close to the beach and two swimming pool. Free wifi and no problem getting mobile connection but no tv reception 😩
Xin T — Google review
Yes its a beautiful spot but we dont like been misled or ripped off which is exactly what happened. They say you must have a permit to experience the dolphin discovery & staff will check that everyone has a permit..that is not true, they check a handful out of at least 100 people, you think your doing the right thing by adhering to all the signs that clearly say..wait on the boardwalk with your permit to be checked by staff..there were people everywhere on the sand & jetty when staff asked everyone to get on the boardwalk for a briefing most didnt & when they let the ropes down it was charge of the light brigade, people pushing & shoving & nothing was said to them so we got to see nothing,,total waste of our time & effort, there is no organisation at all,so disappointing that we did the right thing & got punished. Staff had no control, they dont check all people for permits, people were commenting that the didnt get a permit & got to see the dolphin's..so unfair. Only staff get to feed the dolphins so saying they pick a random visitor is a lie. Ocean view room looks like its had a bit of a freshen up but needs a lot of TLC,no microwave or toaster only tea & coffee making facilities & a small fridge. Cleanliness was lacking throughout the whole resort. View was fantastic. Food , beverages & general store were a total ripp off. Take your own supplies. Majority of staff are internationals with working visas so they dont care about much & are very average on doing there jobs. Expected a lot more, very very disappointed in the dolphin experience which is a major selling point for this place but we were let down dramatically. Tip..dont stop at the billabong roadhouse as it is putrid, drive 50klm down the road & stop at the overlander its a lot better, same fuel price, better food options & a LOT cleaner. Been seen will never return & could not recommend. Overated & Overpriced.

Please visit this amazing lookout, it is awesome looking down where you can see the sea creatures from afar, it’s a good place to take the whole family and even bring some binoculars. We saw turtles, rays and even some sharks, sadly no dugongs! It’s an easy walk with beautiful view of the surrounds. It’s a slightly corrugated road in, a 2WD could make it in, just take it easy. “Jonique Life” If you find value in our reviews please consider following our social media outlets on Facebook and Instagram as we highlight magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

If you park up at the bottom car park, you can walk down the the water and snorkel. Although there’s not too much corals around, we past some tourists who said they had seen turtles here! Even without a snorkel, it’s a great beach drive and really cool spot to see how tall the cliffs that Eagle Bluff Lookout sit on actually are!

Other plant species include Limonium salicorniaceum; Sporobulus virginicus; species of Calandrinia, Pelargonium, Poa and Selenothamnus; and an introduced species of Chenopodium. silver gulls nest on the island, and a small number of pied cormorants roost there.

Hamelin Pool Telegraph Station

Historical landmark
Nature & Parks
Geologic Formations
Hamelin Pool Telegraph Station is a historic site located within the Shark Bay World Heritage Area in Western Australia. It was originally established as a telegraph station in the late 1800s as part of the Overland Telegraph Line, which connected Western Australia with the rest of the country. The telegraph station played a crucial role in communication during that era. In addition to its historical significance, Hamelin Pool is also known for its unique marine stromatolites. These ancient microbial structures, which resemble small rock-like formations, are some of the oldest forms of life on Earth and offer valuable insights into the planet's early history. Visitors to Hamelin Pool can learn about both the history of telecommunications in Australia and the fascinating biology of stromatolites, making it a popular stop for tourists exploring the Shark Bay region.

Had a quick stop at the campgrounds for a toilet break but it wasn't available for general public. Had a look while in the car and it looked interesting. not sure if you're able to go in though. Like the other places, plenty of flies buzzing about.

Really informative tour about the stromatolites and telegraph station. Only $5 per adult and kids were free. Tour was 45mins and even our kids (who are under 10) sat through the videos and talk. They even remembered some of the facts which showed they were engaged. Recommend everyone to do tour and help support this working piece of history.

This small post would be the perfect settings for movies set in the past century. It clearly shows how life must have been tough in the past. Most buildings seem to have been left untouched. At the centre of the village there is the telegraph station, but other buildings are interesting as well. It is a perfect spot to park before going to the stromatolites. But note that it can be very hot during the summer!
Enrico A — Google review
The original telegraph station established in the late 1800's when communication around the state was via morse code. Now not part of the modern communications network and located within the Hamelin Pool caravan park, it has been converted to a museum (open and tour at 3pm most days). The museum focus is the telegraphy, the stromatolites nearby and the general exploration history of this part of WA. Well worth a visit especially if staying in the caravan park.
Robert S — Google review
When we arrived, the museum was closed so we were unable to go inside so we could only just look around outside. I still enjoyed the look around, just missed the inside this time.

Cool telegraph station built in 1884. There's a cute little caravan park right there, you'll pass through on your way to the stromatolites, but not really worth making a special trip.

drove thru to take some pics and stop for a cuppa and possibly book for our next adventure. Lady came out following our cars and rudley asked what we were doing there. Explained to her why we came thru. Even though we were driving slow, slow enough for her to walk alongside our car, told us to stop making dust! We proceeded to leave and will waste our money elsewhere. Group of 8!

Fantastic campsite with real Australian and world history. First there were Stromatolites, then Shell rock and with humans came the telegraph.

drove thru to take some pics and stop for a cuppa and possibly book for our next adventure. Lady came out following our cars and rudley asked what we were doing there. Explained to her why we came thru. Even though we were driving slow, slow enough for her to walk alongside our car, told us to stop making dust! We proceeded to leave and will waste our money elsewhere. Group of 8!
