Facilities at Stokes Inlet, just 80 Kms west of Esperance WA, are excellent for both overnight camping and day trippers. Right at the water's edge are two well appointed picnic shelters with gas BBQ and sink, toilets, boat ramp and fish cleaning table for day use. Camping sites are large, flat and well sheltered, just a little higher up the estuary. Camp sites are well laid out for privacy and have easy access to camp kitchens with water views, toilets and boat ramp. Walk paths and toilets are wheelchair suitable.

I really liked being here, it was my second time out but first time going fishing on the water . Great spot to just hang out and day camp. Great for fishing and getting some beautiful nature shots. Kids loved fishing and caught a good few. Highly recommend. Toilets are longdrops but clean, and well maintained. The outdoor kitchens and bbq were clean and well maintained and the information on the walls about stokes inlet was a great information session and short read to gather some indepth information on how stokes came about.
Cindi L — Google review
Went to Stokes Inlet. Walked along the foreshore and also up along wooded area. Lovely during wildflower season.
Mary M — Google review
Camp Hosts are keeping the sites immaculate - removing any rubbish and raking each area! There are drop toilets, bins, undercover bbqs with tables. Around 12 sites. Easy access down to the estuary. Another hidden gem!
Chris M — Google review
Went to Fanny Cove and Sandy Cape. Basic camping at both places with long drop toilets. 4WD access to beach at Fanny Cove but not at Sandy Cape. Beautiful beaches and as usual crystal clear water. Awesome day trip or stay a night or two. National Park fees apply.
Michael W — Google review
Very nice campground. Individual campsites level, prepared surface. Sites very secluded. Amenities modern stainless steel. No site very far from a toilet. You will need to bring your own water. And there are no bins - the policy at a lot of these National Parks campsites is for campers to take there own rubbish with them when they leave. Obviously people will use the bins at the nearest roadside parking bay.
Don F — Google review
Inlet camping in sheltered sites just back from inlet in bush. Shelters with bbq & one gas burner, small amounts of rainwater ( byo bulk of own water), toilets. No bookings online. Could be more info eg on canoeing & a path/ access to Moirs ruins for inlet access. We kayaked to beach & explored in a morning.
Lisa K — Google review
Wonderful park beaches, cliffs and rugged hills. Only a short drive from Hopetown. Campsite has new facilities with hot showers.

Munglinup Beach

Beach

Just spectacular, fantastic for swimming snorkelling and relaxation. The reef gives fantastic protection from the ocean swell. Very clean amenities are also provided, drop toilets with wash basin and also a disabled toilet available, cleaned daily by the caravan park owners up the road
Inna C — Google review
Be careful with the strong current (rib) on the left side of the beach (when you face the water). Otherwise beautiful beach
Yiğit A — Google review
Great beach! There's a reef not far off the beach so the beach itself is quite calm. Saw a scuba diver and some snorkelers making their way out to the Reef. On the left side are some great rocks to explore. Around the corner are some get pockets of shells. We even found a Paper Nautilus shell.
Chris M — Google review
When the weather is right good for swimming, snorkelling, beach walking, bird watching and camping in the designated area.
Garry B — Google review
I snorkeled here once on the low tide, it was good.
Callista H — Google review

Allan D — Google review
Most Underrated Beach. This caught us by surprise because we had detoured from our original plan after seeing a random sign for a reef on the highway 10/10 Ended up staying the night as there was camping and toilets. The beach has a reef with extraordinary biodiversity. Its protected by a rock walls so its safe from the waves. As a beginner snorkeler I was incredibly amazed by how much I saw without being out of my comfort zone. Probably even better for diving as the water is deep but I was happy to stay on the surface and enjoy the view. Drive to esperance next morning was 90 mins.
Eamon B — Google review
Second best beach I've been to.. Which means it's amazing, seriously amazing... I stayed at the camp grounds just behind the dunes. $15 a night. Tank water and toilet. Not drinkable. Dog friendly. Great fishing... Bring fire wood..

PUBLIC Silo Trail: Ravensthorpe Silo Art

Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Halfway to Esperance, it’s a great spot to stop for a few minutes, take some photos, and then a little further ahead, there’s a public restroom for a quick break.
JACK Z — Google review
Another beauty ticked off the list! The Ravensthorpe Silo Art is a stunning addition to the PUBLIC Silo Trail – vibrant, detailed, and totally worth the stop. One more masterpiece down on the silo art hunt (and yes, still within budget!).
Teo N — Google review
This silo art is very different from art I’ve seen before. A lot more modern in appearance but non the less impressive. A huge undertaking and really shows the skill of the artist. There’s a number of silo art pieces done by the same artist which I hope to see more of.
Paul S — Google review
Lots of parking, very well positioned. Would go out of way to see, but worth it when packing through
Emily B — Google review
These beautifully painted silos have artwork on both sides, showcasing the entire life cycle of the local banksia plant. Also featuring is local fauna. Artist - Amok Island
Aly M — Google review
I love the use of silos as canvases for jumbo paintings, and this one is fanciful and fun.
Marsha R — Google review
Three beautifully painted silos. Good viewing areas and information board.

A classic Aussie pub meal at a classic Aussie pub! The Parma was amazing and the kids loved their meals. A great stop for a travel weary family. Could not have asked for a better meal if I was at the Ritz! Pricing was very reasonable staff friendly and accommodating. Keep up the good work!
Tradie W — Google review
Booked and asked for a nice room. Stayed two nights. I wouldn’t stay in the rooms again. Dirty stained carpet, dirty stained chairs. Not inviting at all. Nice new shower though, that was good. Bed was comfy, so good there as well. Had a meal at the Tavern and was really nice, pity the room was such a let down.
David R — Google review
Easy to park outside unit Have toaster but No cutlery, plates or glasses. Facility clean and serviceable Nice to sit outside once sun is up and mosquitoes are gone Smoke alarm has been removed in unit 1
Rachel W — Google review
I was first at the Lake King Tavern in the 1990s and early 2000s, and it was a very good place for a meal and bed. Nice to see all is still good. The tavern is welcoming, the food is good and the rooms are clean. Just be aware the tavern opens at 3 pm, so plan your arrival if you have a unit booked. Fuel is available 24 hrs via a pre-pay system.
Ian F — Google review
Great food and service at the Tavern. Stayed in motel to break a journey, very clean, quiet and bathroom is modern. Good shower. Would definitely recommend as stay to break a long journey.
Michelle F — Google review
Stayed for one night to break up the trip to Esperance. Rooms are basic but, clean and comfortable. Kettle and tosster but, no cutlery or plates, so if you're going to need, make sure to get from.the tavern during their open hours. Dinner at the tavern was a great serving and very tasty.

Buckley's Breakaway

Nature & Parks
Geologic Formations
It's a little ways off the sealed road and you can't see much when you pull in to the carpark but well worth the drive and the short walk along the trail. Very unusual rock and sand formations. Looks and feels like you're on an alien planet.
Angie D — Google review
This is a little gem just not far south of Hyden WA. Referred to us by an Sri Lankan family, who said it was awesome and a must visit. They were right.
Michael B — Google review
Sensational. Magnificent. Loved it. The colours are astonishing when the sun hits it. Although a few stairs and softish sand in places, if able and probably assisted, wheelchair access is there if you're game. Amazing what the elements have done to it.
Crian M — Google review
WOW... Such a contrdiction to thebsurrounding land... Worth a looksee for sure...
Rose — Google review
Though it is far less famous than Wave Rock, its neighbor about 30 minutes east, Buckley’s Breakaway is fascinating, beautiful, and unique. It is far more colorful and the eroded rock formations resemble fantastic beasts and their lairs. It is free to enter, with a parking lot and easy established trail leading into the area. With picture-taking, we spent about half an hour, and I’m so happy we didn’t miss it! PS. If you aren’t from this part of Australia, know in advance that swarms of flies want very badly to do their fly thing in your eyes, mouth, nose, ears, etc. I’m not a big fan of mosquito head nets, but they saved us here and at many other desert sites in Western Australia.
Marsha R — Google review
You can see a natural spot where erosion has carved through the orange laterite, revealing dramatic white cliffs and winding gullies beneath. The contrast of colors and unique formations make it a truly picturesque and peaceful place to visit.
Jigme T — Google review
Pretty cool like looking at a cut away of the earth
Ben A — Google review
Very interesting rock formations. Bit of a detour but I'd say worth it! Not a huge area but great to see. No washrooms and some gross areas on the periphery of the car park which are covered in human waste.

Nice piece of W.A history. Dumbleyung is not too far off Albany Hwy if you are heading south. Nice detour takes in Dumbleyung and its lake, and continuing south offers some other great little towns. Dumbleyung is a lovely quiet and clean town.

Palace Hotel Wagin

We stayed overnight and had dinner and breakfast at hotel. This hotel deserves high praise, both for the friendly helpful service from staff and the degree of comfort and ambiance achieved in reviving this old lady. The renovations are ongoing but our room was spacious, super comfortable bed and use of lounge area. The hotel is in general homely and charming. We ate in the elegant dining room, nice food and very well-priced as was breakfast at the cafe. Highly recommend for all round good experience.
Melva T — Google review
This is a charming country hotel with a great lunch and dinner menu. Choose to sit in either the formal dining room or front saloon to enjoy your meal. Our group was impressed by the great menu range and quality of food. Some dishes are quite large serving sizes, suitable for big appetites. Great value, friendly service and a pleasant casual country dining experience.
Pauline P — Google review
I had the best Tuscan Chicken I have ever had! Creamy gravy, a good amount of tender chicken and sun dried tomatoes over rice. Amazing dish! Bronte, our waitress was great as well. She needs a raise, such a plus for the Palace!
Julie V — Google review
Classic country pub with good beer selection and a really interesting menu. I had a porterhouse, nicely cooked with great chips and tasty salad. My wife went with Asian inspired salmon with rice and miso soup. She gave it a 5 star ⭐. It's wheelchair accessible with accessible toilets just outside the pub. Rare to find food this good in a country town.
Rob M — Google review
Stopped in for lunch as we were passing through town. Very friendly staff and the food was delicious with generous servings. Good selection of choices on the menu and reasonable prices. Highly recommend the Tuscan Chicken
Sandra K — Google review
Lovely beer garden, but the "waygu" beef burger had the taste and consistency of sausage meat and came with a limp piece of lettuce that had seen better days. Not impressed. I hope this was an aberration, but unlikely to go there again.
Calico C — Google review
Amazing pub, outstanding service and OMG the food is on point, far better than any big city pub. I ordered the Remi special, whilst I am a great home cook, this was next level, all the levels of flavours and textures just grinded together, a mouth party. Thank you so much. Ability to park our van for the night and simply enjoy was an added bonus. Highly recommend.
Lissa P — Google review
Passing through Wagin and stopped in for a quite rest and refreshment. The staff were friendly and prompt with the service and the drink was cold and fresh. Definitely worth supporting the Palace Hotel

Ticked it off the BIGS list. There is parking close by, even for a few vans. bigger than we thought it was going to be. Had a bit of a stroll around, taking in a coffee at a Cafe not far away. Playground for the kids, and plenty of access for wheelchairs. Can't go wrong.

A great place to see wildflowers including orchids. Nice walks and a excellent picnic area. Dirt roads in are good. Caution if you're towing a large caravan.

Great park to pull in to and have a rest if on a road trip, it has toilets, a playground and a pond to walk around plus the tourist attraction of the Giant Ram

Stunning park, with the Big Ram, toilets, BBQ, play equipment & a water feature with bridges to cross. Lovely area

Great place to stop for a break, there is plenty of parking, well maintained toilets and a new playground in the parkland. There's a big lake with some BIG koi fish, but the main attraction is the giant ram, he's very well maintained and huge! Must stop spot for a photo if you're travelling through.

Downderry Wines

Food & Drink
Wineries & Vineyards
We stayed over the night at Downderry wines and had the best time! we’ve been to tasting in countries all over the world and never have we had a 10/10 wine selection like we did here. You can’t go wrong, whatever you like I’m sure they’ll live up to your expectations, Rex and Jan made our short stay one to remember.
Jack C — Google review
We found Downderry wines on Wikicamps as a place to stay overnight and it's been our best stay ever. The owners Jan and Rex are very welcoming, and host many travellers on their property. We paid cash on arrival and the price was exceptionally reasonable for a one night stay with access to their toilets. We had a wine tasting and ended up buying a case of SSB, a bottle of their Shiraz, and a Port style wine - the Champagne style wine was also delicious!! We spotted that they had new lambs, and alpacas, and were invited to help feed them which was so lovely! Rex brought a out some wine dregs for us to enjoy, and even a taste of their new port which was STUNNING! He even bottled some for us the next morning to take away. A magical place and well worth a visit ✨
Melle B — Google review
Had the best time with the perfect host Rex and his partner. Beautiful wine tasting experience ☆ All you need to camp - Rex was very kind to sort us a firepit and firewood ♡ Never seen the sky so clear at night and it was a surreal experience - you could stargaze for hours ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Melissa N — Google review
this camp is fantastic, great hosts, great wine, and great fun wathing the sheep and alpacas interact during feeding, top spot.
Robert W — Google review
This place is amazing! We were greeted by the owners Jan and Rex who were very hospitable and guided us through their fantastic wines. Definitely a worthwhile visit if you're heading past Williams. It's a unique experience at a winery that is quite kid friendly.
Andrew T — Google review
Such a lovely winery with a passionate owner who makes the most delicious reds, whites and ports! I don't usually like white or sparkling wines, but I found theirs delicious and very drinkable. Ended up buying shiraz, cab sav, and two different types of port. I really couldn't recommend stopping in more, so different (and much more pleasant) the big commercial winery experiences!
Ryan B — Google review
Rex and Jan are lovely, welcoming hosts. We stayed overnight, booked through Hipcamp. Had a quick wine tasting and chat with Jan, met up with Rex later for a yarn while hand feeding the alpacas. Beautiful property, wonderful wines and a fantastic relaxing stay. Also a great place for stargazing! Thanks very much Rex and Jan 🤩

Lions Dryandra Woodland Village

Resort hotel
Nature & Parks
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Straightforward dorms & cottages on a wilderness property offering kitchens, living areas & porches.
《If You Love Nature and Want to Escape City Life, This Place Is a Hidden Gem!》 《Amazing Managers, Unforgettable Experience!》 The managers, Julie and Les, are absolutely wonderful! They introduced us to kangaroo joeys, colorful wild birds, and even a wild snake patiently waiting for its prey. They guided us on a walking tour around the area, helping us search for echidnas while sharing fascinating information about the local flora and fauna. We even saw a kangaroo skeleton—such a cool experience! 《Stay in a Cozy Cabin and Immerse Yourself in Nature》 Bring your own bedsheets, pillows, blankets, towels, bath towels, and toiletries, and stay in a cabin for 2-3 nights. At night, listen to the soothing sounds of crickets and birds, and in the morning, watch kangaroos hopping across the grasslands—a truly peaceful and relaxing experience. You can also explore the outdoors in search of echidnas and numbats, observe over 105 species of birds, or take on nearby hiking trails for an adventure-filled day. 《Well-Equipped for a Comfortable Stay》 The large cabins accommodate 4-10 people, and you can park your car right outside. Everything you need is provided: ✔ Clean bathrooms and toilets (with toilet paper, plenty of hooks, and rails) ✔ An additional outdoor toilet, so you won’t have to worry about availability while showering ✔ A fully equipped private kitchen, including a four-burner stove, fridge, microwave, hot water kettle, toaster, pots, pans, plates, cups, utensils, sponges, dishwashing liquid, and dish towels ✔ An outdoor gas BBQ grill, perfect for enjoying a barbecue under the open sky! 《Cozy Living Space and Fireplace Gatherings》 The living room has three large sofas, and you can buy firewood from the office to light the fireplace at night. Gather around with family and friends, sip on a warm drink, and enjoy a cozy and relaxing evening—it’s pure bliss! 《Disconnect and Enjoy the Peace》 Internet reception inside the cabins is unstable, making this the perfect place to unplug and take a break from the digital world, fully immersing yourself in nature. 《Exciting Night Adventure with Wildlife》 At night, don’t miss the Barna Mia nocturnal tour, where you’ll use a red-light flashlight to search for native wildlife in the darkness—an exciting and unique experience! 《Family-Friendly with Plenty of Space》 If you have kids, there are playground facilities for them to enjoy! The cabins are also spaced apart, ensuring privacy and minimal disturbance from other guests. 《Respect Nature and Keep It Clean》 Before leaving, please tidy up the space, restore everything to its original condition, and dispose of your trash in the outdoor bins. If you have children, this is also a great opportunity to teach them about responsibility! 《Can’t Wait to Return!》 I absolutely fell in love with this place! Every morning at around 5 AM, I would wake up, sit on the back porch, sip a cup of hot tea, and watch the sunrise—such a peaceful and enjoyable moment. Although I didn’t get to see echidnas or numbats this time, that just gives me another reason to come back!

Great bush glamping at the historic forestry village in renovated old style Cottages. Now run by Lions , not for profit, so great value from Only $130 /nt for 4. Byo linen, and leave clean, ok. Enjoy the Numbats, kangaroos, birds, bush, cheers. Les.
Leslie W — Google review
Excellent accommodation with good dining facilities for a large group or small family. Reasonable charges. Good play facilities for children between ages of 6 and 14. Very limited internet which could be a boon or disadvantage depending on viewpoint.
Don C — Google review
This is such an amazing place. We seen all the animals we went there to see. Night walks are a must. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend this place and the surrounding areas to visit. Cottages are clean and have everything we needed. Definitely going back and now one of our favourite spots.
Wayne M — Google review
We stayed in or camper so have not rated the rooms, the rest of the place is great, lots of space, good facilities, the kitchen and dining area are fabulous, good clean toilets and showers. I would recommend, and if you like bush walking and nature spotting the woodland will not disappoint.
Gary B — Google review
Great location with so much wildlife to see on the plenty of well built and looked after walk trails in the surrounding area. We stayed in the Mallee Hen cottage which was perfect for two. Lots of room, good balcony and all the necessities needed. Les and Julie were great hosts who are chipping away at making it an even better camp.
Ashie — Google review
great place for a quiet getaway. saw echidnas, kangaroos, a numbat and the night time tour was fantastic too.

Everyone knows I love this place, food is soooo good, also considering is kinda remote, service is really good and place big and diverse. 100% recommend getting the matcha latte <3

Surprising find in a relatively remote location. We had an iced coffee, mocha, prawn po boy (prawns were very tasty, I wish I'd ordered extra) The New York Reuben, some fries (especially good) and the pecan pie. Everything was very tasty. We will definitely stop in next time we're passing through.
Albert R — Google review
There was a long line, but the service was excellent. There is a kids playground attached to the restaurant. The burger was fresh and delicious. Kid’s nuggets were slightly overcooked and the Thai beef salad was a bit overdressed, so it was a little bitter, but the flavors is still good. Overall, it’s a great stopover between Albany and Perth.
Gin T — Google review
Been here many times over the years and I always look fwd to the fresh sandwiches on offer. The bread used to be lovely. Called on the way to Perth in August and the fresh sandwiches were off the menu as well as hot chips. Only toasties available. Then again today there was no sign of these items on the menu. The menu used to be quite extensive but it has reduced substantially. I paid $6 for a piece of banana bread and i was served a cold thin wedge. Subsequently i left it behind. I would be embarrassed to serve this up to anyone. It’s hard to find good consistent dining places and this ‘used’ to be one of them. Be giving it a wide berth in the future.

It's a stop you need from Perth. The taste of the coffee was mild. Food was not bad. Our favourite is the breakfast wrap. Good service and helpful staff. (2024-09)

Such an awesome wildlife experience. Shame it's so popular, but I'm glad it generates income for wildlife. Guides are super knowledgeable.

Really enjoyed our visit here. They are doing a fantastic job with saving these beautiful little creatures. Was a treat sitting in the dark with a red light and all these endangered animals hopping around us and the tour guide was really great you could hear the passion in his voice for them.

We saw all of the nighttime critters in the enclosure, which were as cute and fun to watch as expected. Shannon was a great guide, adding lots of interesting information and stories. Highly recommended!

The best OZ’s tourists spot near Narrogin. If you want to join this amazing experience, don’t forget to booking online.

Lovely experience! The lady was super nice and really knowledgeable. Unfortunately we saw no possums. We came for possums, we love possums. But we saw all the other animals! Even a Bilby! 10/10

Fantastic evening, being shown multiple marsupials being kept safe here. Very informative talk given first, definitely alerted me to the hazards cats pose to wildlife. Everyone should have a chance to learn about these fantastic creatures and what we humans need to do to protect them.
Sally G — Google review
The best thing to do/experience in the narrogin/dryandra region! So many rare marsupials to see in a lovely sanctuary! It's a once in a lifetime experience because you won't be able to see these animals in the wild due to their reduced populations/endangered conservation status
Onyx S — Google review
Sensational experience. A splendid chance to see the native australian noctural marsupials feeding which is otherwise almost impossible to see. They have two large enclosed areas that are filled with a variety of marsupials which are fed during the nocturnal tour. It is a very nice sight to watch them feed and hop around. You will be very close to the animals and they will be observed under torch light. Not good for infants as staying quiet during the tour is essential. A good weekend tour from Perth

A lovely museum and place to stay with your kids. Plenty of time to relax, unwind and enjoy rolling farm paddock views. We stayed in the farm accomodation and loved it! The museum was so interesting to walk around see all the history of the farm and region. Just fabulous! My boys loved it, ages 2 and 5. We will be back soon!

Avondale is a modern working farm owned by the National Trust Australia Western Australia. Come and see for yourself what seasonal agricultural activities are being carried out in the Avon Valley. Avondale was one of the first farms surveyed in Beverley, and was granted to James Stirling in 1833. The property features many heritage buildings including 1850s homestead, 1920s silage silo, 1960s garage, and 1890s workshop. The property is permanently listed on the state heritage register. The farm also features an agricultural machinery museum. The collection spans 100 years of farming history in Western Australia. There is also a stable complex which was built in 1890, complete with horse works, chaff cutter, forge and Clydesdale horses. A fauna and flora reserve is being developed in a rare attempt to restore an area to its natural state after nearly 150 years of grazing. A walk trail is being developed to allow visitors sustainable access. You can also check out the historic homestead furnished in period style and set in traditional colonial gardens, or take the six kilometre farm drive trail and see what is really happening in the paddocks.

Avondale Research Station, comprising a single storey brick and corrugated iron Homestead (1880s) in the Victorian Georgian style, a vernacular single and double storey corrugated iron Stables (1890s), a vertical concrete Silo (1927), a single storey brick and iron former Laboratory (1930), workers dwellings (1928 and 1937), has cultural heritage significance for the following reasons: Established as a State Farm in 1919, the place has been a venue for agricultural research since 1924, and was the site of an important research project for braxy-like disease in sheep in the early 1930s, with the research Laboratory constructed specifically for the project; The place has a landmark quality within its picturesque rural landscape; The Stables dating from the 1890s feature very well-detailed timber horse stalls and roof structure, and are a rare example of innovative design; The place is valued for its role in agricultural research and education, borne out by the local community’s financial contribution to the establishment of the Laboratory in 1930 and the contribution of farm machinery for the Discovery Farm museum in 1979; The various components that comprise the place demonstrate specific government initiatives in the establishment and the subsequent development of the place as a site of agricultural research and a showcase of rural work and life; The Avondale property was one of the earliest pastoral properties established in the Beverley district and the farm’s development since 1830 has been indicative of and contributed to the development of the area; and, The place contributes to the local and wider community’s sense of place for its links to the early settlement of the Avon Valley and for its ongoing contribution to agricultural research and education in the State.

Had an amazing time at Treetop Adventures! The staff were super friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. We had so much fun that we’re definitely going again!

Fabulous multi- level challenge, family activity. Our group of 8 had age ranges of 5 to 57 and there was a course for everyone. I was impressed with the time spent in the trees, the safety equipment, the training and the overall professionalism. Make sure you complete your waiver when booking to save time. Picnic tables to sit & eat, & a cafe to purchase coffee and a few bites. Both physically and mentally challenging depending on the course you complete but a fabulous experience overall.

Absolutely beautiful day for all… definitely worth the drive but please book in advance. The staff were amazing and very Professional! My five children from 3 to 15 all had a great time, they can’t wait to do it again!! Also a staff member recommended seeing a beautiful King Jarrah tree that’s said to be over 400 years old not far from the treetop adventures and we followed the directions and found it, it was amazing and so beautiful, so thank you so much to the wonderful employee who recommended we see that before we go, it was such an amazing experience. Can’t thank you enough!

Had an amazing time at Tree Top Adventure with my family. The staff were approachable, friendly, and very professional. Before the session began, they gave us clear instructions and ensured everyone was confident and well-trained with the safety equipment. It suddenly started raining heavily during our session, but that actually made the whole experience even more exciting and memorable a true rain-soaked adventure! The courses were well designed, safe, and suitable for all ages. There’s also a separate Junior Course Adventure for kids, which is a great way for younger ones to join the fun safely and build confidence. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for outdoor fun, teamwork, and a bit of thrill with nature

Such a great experience. The safety is top notch and the adrenaline exciting. So many courses for all ages and all capabilities. My zip line came off when I launched a bit too jumpy and Jayden came to my rescue and helped get me back to a platform, having to pull me myself! Didn't make me feel bad or like I was a fool or inconvenience. Everyone was so helpful. They helped with my husband who wears a turban to accommodate and were very kind and respectful. They moved our booking to a more convenient time. Highly recommend for kids and adults!

The treetop adventures were absolutely beautiful and I love the scenic area, please give me likes for my review: I just love the scenic nature and people working. They were also very nice and they have lots of information providing the details of the flora. The gift shop was also nice as I bought a few souvenirs.

The location and crew are great! So are the different tracks. Not enough time, managed only 2 tracks, 2.5 hours, because of supervising the younger kids. Family of 5, 2 adults and 3 kids 21, 11 and 5. Price is a bit high, 270 AUD...
Eric B — Google review
Well worth the journey, the kids had a great time on the junior course. It was a real confidence boost as they got to grips with the different elements and by the third go around, could manage it all themselves (ages 5 & 6). Update: 6 years later the kids are 11 & 12, had a brilliant time, managed their first red course and we all loved the blue run that was zip line after zip line. Even on a warm day (32) it was nice and cool in the trees, shady with a light breeze. The staff were very friendly again, genuinely nice, helped the kids relax. The 2.5 hours went so quick, was glad we brought some sandwiches. Was thinking about camping here there's some nice looking sites next to here. But even with the 1.5 hour drive from Perth and back, we thought it was well worth it.

We were amazed at how busy this place was on a Sunday afternoon. There were lots of people in the visitor centre. You could rent a bike or take a stroll around the town. Everything is within walking distance. There are lots of eateries around. The main attraction would be the diesel or steam train, which buying a ticket online is highly recommended and to avoid disappointment. Great little place, highly recommended.

My husband and I had a wonderful time on the restaurant train last night. We had been wanting to try this for a while and it did not disappoint. From start to finish all the staff (volunteers) were friendly, professional, accomodating and polite. You can tell the effort they put in to make it a great experience for the passengers. The food reminded me of lovely home cooking and we were so full by the end. The train itself was clean and quaint. We highly recommend this experience to others looking for a unique experience and we’ll be returning for one of the day trips in the near future.

Wonderful piece of railway history. Nice scenic ride through the forest and farmland. The whole organization is run by volunteer and enthusiasts and you can feel the love and the positive vibe throighout. I went on a Sunday afternoon and was able to get ticket on the spot. The ticket office has many memobrilia on sale and worth a look. The train and carriage is an older type similar to slow train in Thailand. There is a canteen on board selling drinks and snacks. The ride itself is around 2hr. It travels at only 10-15km/hr in a back and forth path. It would have been nice if there was something to interact at the stop. Tip: Wild flower was starting to bloom on 31 August. If you visit in September it should be in full bloom.
Nisit P — Google review
What a lovely place to visit, it’s a step back in time to the good old days. Old railway engines and carriages. There is a beautiful old railway station plenty of options for short rail journeys to explore the surrounding countryside. I can recommend going on an evening dinner rail tour.

Stunning location. Please keep WA clean Dwellingup is my favourite place to chill out & camp... Get a coffee and add the caramel honey.. It is absolutely delicious 😋
Rowdy H — Google review
Volunteers should be congratulated in providing this unique service, as the time required, not only to provide the journey experience, but also to maintain the train and carriages would be substantial. Before you head off, please ensure any children or others travelling with you can tolerate dogs in confined spaces. The 2 hour journey takes you through jarrah forests up and down the Darling Scarp where in places the track has a 7 degree gradiant is a pleasant way to relax and unwind, while appreciating the varying landscape. This seven degree gradient is the steepest around, and a 5 minute stop is required to build up the pressure in the boiler before tackling it.

A project once made fun of now stands as one of the most important places in WA history. When Nature's beauty and man's creativity gets merged, wonders get created .Such a wonder was built between 1898-1903 for the purpose of transporting water to the Easter Goldfields of Kalgoorile. The dam is now under the Water Corporation of WA and their website provides information about the dam details such as facilities,Opening hours , direction etc. https://www.watercorporation.com.au/About-us/Visiting-our-dams/Mundaring-Weir The No1 Pump Station is a great place to learn about the incredible early engineering technology that they had used to pump water nearly 600km from Mundaring Weir to the Goldfields. This place is really a must see and one of the beautiful places to know more about heritage, to take wonderful pictures of scenery and even spend time with family or friend groups. https://youtu.be/c3O16ZOH0Eg The place have picnic areas, public toilets and walking trails. This project once called as "Scheme Of Madness" was designed by Thomas Crowley Hodgson and was brought to life by an Engineer in Chief C.Y.O'Connor. At present day the weir supplies water to the Eastern Goldfields and Agricultural region. The walking trail experience throug the Weir , lawns and gardens are really a great experience to get to the historical importance of this place. The Mundaring Weir now forms a part of the Goldfields Water Supply Scheme or The Golden Pipeline.
J4J — Google review
The Mundaring dam is a top local attraction and just 15 minutes from the Mundaring town site. There are panoramic photo opportunities during a crossing of the dam wall. On one side is the picturesque reservoir and on the other the heritage pumping station with its tall chimney stack. A less explored area can be discovered at the far end of the dam wall (coming from Mundaring Weir Road). A steepish descent, down a series of steps (with handrail) to the base of the dam wall, leads visitors to the pumping station (100m). A tranquil place surrounds the museum with a few rest benches under some shady trees. There is also an interesting electronic meter that turns over / counts - every time 1000 litres of dam water is used in Kalgoorlie (located nearby the pumping station museum). The Mundaring Weir park area is extensive and perfect for BBQ's with a number of designated areas complete with stove tops. There is an abundance of majestic trees (many varieties). A natural habitat for birdlife and the perfect place for a relaxing stroll. A few friendly kangaroos are always out and about.
Leon W — Google review
Nice place to drive and cycle to. There are kangaroos, free fruit and a weir that supplies drinking water for Perth. Also there is the story and the bust of C.Y O'Connor. An engineer that supplied the goldfields with liquid gold (water). There is also a rose garden in the middle of nowhere, a great plethora of colours is observed during spring and a bit of summer. It is an awesome walk along the top of the weir.
Martin S — Google review
A wonderful place to visit on the Perth Hills, having the state’s one of the most important engineering structures, access to the weir overseeing the idyllic C Y O’ Connor lake, plenty of walk trails and benches through the greenery of wild flowers and trees. Large number of gas top barbecue facilities along with separate toilets for male, female, disabled on both sides (west and east) of the weir. Several water fountains nicely positioned, offering quick rehydration and a splash on the face on a hot day. We were lucky enough to have been greeted by a family of kangaroos in the bush to the east of the rose garden. The viewing area to the south of the C Y O’Connor Memorial offers a splendid view of the both sides of the weir. One caution; be aware of mosquitoes and flies in the afternoon.

The staff were knowledgeable and passionate, and we learned so much despite the weather not cooperating. We’ll definitely be back on a clear night for some stargazing!

It's a lovely experience that you get to see the night skies as you wouldn't have the opportunity if you live in the city. Kudos to the volunteers for the wonderful night. Oh they made it kids friendly too.

Awesome place day and night! Interesting museum and shop. We were lucky to be part of a group who camped overnight. Nice walk through area during the day observing the wildflowers and reading the information signs outside the various buildings. At night there is a golf buggy to drive you up to the various observatories. We opted to walk. We got a chance to see Saturn, the moon and various star clusters. It was a full moon which was great but difficult to see some stars as the moon was too bright. The volunteers were very knowledgeable. Afterwards we had a BBQ, great music and sat around a camp fire. Great experience! 👍👍👍

Serpentine Falls, situated in the Serpentine National Park about 55 kilometers southeast of Perth, is a picturesque waterfall surrounded by ancient forests and wetlands. The area has a rich Aboriginal history and offers opportunities for swimming and picnicking. Accessible via a short 500-meter walk from the car park, the falls are popular among visitors due to their easy accessibility and facilities such as BBQs, toilets, and picnic tables.
Incredible waterhole. Currently (June) the water was similar temp to an ice bath, approx 5 degrees. We loved it, very awakening and refreshing. You will get out warm inside. Crystal clear water and beautiful surrounds.

This is a really nice area to come for a picnic or barbeque. There's a number of spaces available to utilise the tables or bring your own chairs or blanket. The toilets are fairly reasonable and I did see the staff ensuring that they were clean and stocked up. The walk to the Falls is pleasant enough aside from rude people who have no awareness of seniors or people who aren't stay on their feet. At this time of the year the Falls are magnificent and it's good to see plenty of water there. It is astounding that at the entry you get asked not to feed the kangaroos and there are also signs asking people not to feed wildlife.....and yet they do what they want to get a photo of themselves or their kids feeding the kangaroos 👎👎👎 It's also astounding that people have no idea what a "One Way" sign is for and drive off to exit the park going against oncoming traffic. The place is terrific and there's a number of hiking trails too. There is a parking fee of around $17 but if you have a National Parks Pass then you can enter for free, but the staff will need to see your pass and confirm that it, and the vehicle, are both valid.

It's very small height fall. The entrance fee is 17 AUD. However one can enjoy the Hiking near to the falls. Serpentine Falls is a beautiful natural spot, perfect for a day trip from Perth. The waterfall looks amazing after rain, and the surrounding national park has great walking trails with plenty of wildlife — we saw lots of kangaroos. There are picnic and BBQ areas, toilets, and good parking, making it family-friendly. It can get busy on weekends, so going early is best. A lovely place to relax in nature and enjoy the scenery.

**Serpentine Falls, located within the stunning Serpentine National Park just an hour's drive south-east of Perth, is a classic Western Australian natural beauty spot that makes for an ideal day trip.** The drive is easy, and the destination offers a wonderful blend of scenic views, accessible nature, and picnic opportunities. **The Star Attraction:** The main draw is, of course, the waterfall itself. Cascading 15 meters over a smooth granite rock face into a large, inviting rock pool, the falls are particularly spectacular after the winter rains (typically **late winter to spring, August to October**). Even when the flow is reduced in the drier months, the tranquil pool and polished granite surroundings are beautiful and a popular spot for photography. **Visitor Experience & Facilities:** The area around the falls is very well-maintained. * **Accessibility:** The main Falls Walk Trail from the car park to the lookout is short and largely accessible, making it great for all ages and fitness levels. * **Picnic Area:** The grassy picnic area is a real highlight, featuring excellent, clean gas BBQs, plenty of shaded tables, and clean toilet facilities. * **Wildlife:** Western Grey Kangaroos are frequently seen grazing in the picnic area, adding a wonderful Australian touch to your lunch. *Remember not to feed them!* **For the Adventurous:** If you're after more than a quick photo and a picnic, the park offers excellent bushwalking: * **Baldwins Bluff Nature Track (6km return):** A moderate climb rewarded with panoramic views over the Swan Coastal Plain and the falls from the summit. * **Kitty's Gorge Walk Track (14km return):** A longer, more challenging hike that follows the Serpentine River and Gooralong Brook, showcasing the park's lush forest, granite outcrops, and, in spring, stunning wildflowers. * **Arrive Early!** Serpentine Falls is extremely popular, especially on weekends and in summer. The park frequently **closes once capacity is reached (often before 10 am)**, so plan to arrive right when it opens at 8:30 am to guarantee entry and a good picnic spot. * **Swimming Safety:** While swimming is a popular activity in the rock pool, visitors should be aware that **jumping and climbing from the rocks is prohibited and dangerous** due to submerged hazards and varying depths. Water quality also varies, so check for local alerts before getting in. In summary, Serpentine Falls is an essential, highly-recommended Perth day out. It's a fantastic spot for a relaxing family picnic, a short nature stroll, or a challenging bushwalk—just remember to set that alarm!

Great weekend hiking spot! Absolutely loved this place! Not so much water falling, but it was prestine and beautiful! The Waterfall itself is suitable for older people, as it's very short walk, but there are other trails that go around the falls if anyone wanted tk do extra workouts! Go during monsoon season to get the best experience!

Serpentine Falls is a scenic spot with two enjoyable trails. Access to the falls and rocks is restricted for safety, but the area is still perfect for those who enjoy walking and nature.

Wow ! Nice spot. We went on a Tuesday morning so wasn’t expecting it to be busy - but it was. Nice BBQ areas, easy walk to falls. Was nicer than I expected. Recommended for a summer swim and lazy family day out.

This is part of the serpentine national park. You can swim but caution is advised as people have been injured here in the past. Very peaceful and quiet if you visit during the week, it’s open from 8am to 5pm daily.

Cohunu Koala Park is a family-friendly destination where you can interact with Australian wildlife. Located in a 14-hectare natural bushland, this park offers the opportunity to feed and hold koalas, kangaroos, and other animals as you wander through designated tracks and pathways. In addition to native fauna like kangaroos, deer, parrots, and emus, there's also a farmyard area with ponies, pigs, and donkeys.
Wonderful place to hold Koala in your hands and feed them , only thing is the smell around the place is quite unpleasant. Otherwise the place has very good views of kangaroos, ostriches and birds . Kids will love to see the place
Mohammed A — Google review
Very child friendly! Adults can see it's badly in need of funding, looking run down and old but kids don't take notice of those sorts of things. I took four children aged 1-8yrs and they had a great time feeding animals from their bags of popcorn (bought from reception). There's a variety of caged animals but also lots of different animals walking freely around the grounds! It was fun to see the kids meet goats, deer, alpacas, geese, peacocks, emus, kangaroos and more - just wandering right up close for a pat without needing to look over the fence or thru a cage!! Quite unique.
Rita P — Google review
We really liked it here. There is a wide range of animals to see, lots of hands on experiences for the kids, and a very easy to walk around (flat ground and paths). The kids had a great time.
Ruth T — Google review
We’ve been to this wild life park since they were in Armadale, great to see the improvement on the koala area, koalas were quite active on the time we visited, we even got to see a baby koala, my kid had such an amazing experience holding a koala. Emus and geese inside the park can be a bit aggressive towards the popcorn bags but they can be easily shoo off (a couple of geese bite on my kids pants, no harms done and the kids found it funny), suggesting not to let young kids holding the food bags or they can be easily snatched away by the birds. We saw wombats and crocodile in the enclosed area, met some peacocks, donkeys, ponies, lamas and deers on the way to the kangaroo pan, kangaroos and wearables are super cute, there were quite a few with Joey in their bags! We had such a great time there!
Sonia L — Google review
It was a wonderful experience being able to hold a koala. Plus, if you buy the feed for just 4 dollars, you'll instantly become popular with all the animals!
Tom-sawyer — Google review
Went there for a Koala experience. Place is rundown. Broken fixtures everywhere. Filthy, stinks and empty. Some animals (not all) look in bad shape and depressed. Was quite sad to see the state of the place. The place is truly overpriced for the state it is in. Not worth $80 (includes entrance, photo with koala and feeding wallabies).
Ella R — Google review
Excellent visit! Animals and birds were friendly. Expensive at 20 dollars per adult but I guess it’s to sustain the park costs . Our autistic young man loved feeding the birds

Lovely park with friendly kangaroos and adorable koalas! 🦘🐨 You can walk around freely, feed the animals, and even hold a koala for photos. A bit old-fashioned but peaceful and family-friendly. Great spot for a relaxed Aussie wildlife experience near Perth.

John Forrest National Park, located in Glen Forrest, Western Australia, is a picturesque forested area with walking trails, wildlife, and waterfalls. The park offers the popular Eagle View Walk Trail which provides stunning valley views and impressive waterfalls. Visitors can also enjoy the John Forrest Tavern for a meal and encounter native birds and kangaroos in the courtyard. While some find the trail markers confusing at times, it remains an essential day walk in Western Australia due to its scenic beauty and proximity to Perth.
Really well maintained National Park with a range of great walking trails, views of the City and Valley, Hovea Falls and some historical sites like the Swan View Tunnel. Great for all ages with a playground and picnic area. The Ranger was really friendly and helpful too. I can't wait to come back for the wild flowers.

A refreshing hiking experience, especially for those who appreciate well-maintained trails. Many pathways, particularly around popular areas like the picnic grounds and leading to National Park Falls, are commendably compacted. This makes for easy walking, even after rain, and allows for a smooth, enjoyable stride without constantly watching your footing for loose rocks or uneven ground.

Love this National Park. Went today 23rd Aug 25 and it was very busy, due to the waterfall flowing. Saw some wildflowers that are also out atm, they will be in full bloom soon. It was a lovely adventurous day out for myself and my son.

Chasing waterfalls and forest trails at John Forrest National Park 🌳 Fresh air, forest paths, and endless views. Eagle View Trail is one of the best and longest hikes in WA, the views worth every step. There are trails that are more kids friendly, but if you are up for the challenge, go for the Eagle View Trail. It says 5 hours in the guideboard, depending on individual body fitness, it varies between 3 to 5 hours to comlplete the trail. Cost is $17 per car

What a treasure—so close to the city, yet it feels a world away. John Forrest National Park is bursting with life right now. Wild orchids are blooming along the trails, and the diversity of flora is simply breathtaking. The granite boulders and bushland offer a kind of rugged serenity that’s hard to come by. Nature lovers, photographers, and botanists alike will find themselves utterly spoiled. We wandered for hours, spotting native orchids, soaking in expansive valley views, and marvelling at the interplay of rock and wildflower. No formal playgrounds, but Mother Nature provides her own—giant rocks, winding trails, and shaded nooks perfect for kids to explore. Didn’t see any restrooms on our walk, so plan ahead—but honestly, the sheer beauty of the place more than makes up for it. One of Perth’s most precious wild escapes.
Clinton R — Google review
Just a 30-minute drive from Perth, John Forrest National Park offers a serene escape into Western Australia's natural beauty. As the state's first national park, established in 1900, it boasts a rich tapestry of history and nature. Wander through trails lined with towering jarrah and marri trees, and discover seasonal waterfalls like Hovea Falls cascading over granite outcrops. The historic Swan View Tunnel, a relic from 1895, adds a touch of intrigue to your journey. Whether you're seeking a leisurely stroll or a challenging hike, the park's diverse trails cater to all adventurers. Keep an eye out for native wildlife, including kangaroos and black cockatoos, as you immerse yourself in this tranquil haven.

Walking through John Forrest National Park, the scenery was absolutely stunning, and the air was filled with the fresh scent of nature. The only real challenge was the swarm of persistent flies — they turned the trip into a bit of a cheeky battle of wits!

On a beautiful day, I love heading to this spot with my family! Nestled in the hills of Perth, the views are breathtaking, and you can catch a glimpse of Perth City in the distance. You'll often see wild kangaroos hopping around 🦘 and colorful birds flitting about 🦜. It's such a fun place to take a walk, and on the way, you can discover natural waterfalls that lift your spirits. I highly recommend visiting whenever you have some free time—it's such a wonderful experience!

Armadale Reptile & Wildlife Centre

Outdoor Activities
Armadale Reptile & Wildlife Centre is a popular destination for families with young kids, offering a more manageable alternative to larger zoos. The center features an aviary and snakes as its main attractions, along with live interactive sessions where visitors can engage with snakes and skunks. Visitors appreciate the relaxed atmosphere that allows kids to explore at their own pace. In addition to reptiles, the center also houses horses, donkeys, birds, kangaroos, and emus.
We booked a visit today for our little homeschooling group, and everyone had the best time! They have an incredible variety of animals: from all kind of snakes, a wombat, dingo, emu, crocodile, monitor lizards, kangaroos and many kinds of birds (from an Eagle, Barn Owls, finches and cockatoos…) to name but a few! At 11:30am is an animal petting session where everyone gets the opportunity to touch some animals while learning interesting facts. You can then eat your picnic on the big grass area under the watchful eyes of their donkeys and horse, while the kids can run around and play. Everyone from the staff and volunteers was really kind and caring, you could see how much care is put into looking after the animals which are often rescues. Great dedication and worth a visit to support such a great organisation!

We had a fantastic time at the Armadale Reptile Centre and were there for nearly 4 hours! My 9-year-old and 7-year-old absolutely loved all the animals — especially the dingoes, wombat, and turtles. Petting a snake and a bobtail was definitely a highlight for them. You can really tell the animals are well cared for — they have such a calm and friendly demeanour. The volunteers were knowledgeable, engaging, and more than happy to answer all the kids’ questions. A great spot for an educational and hands-on experience. Well worth the visit!

The Armadale Reptile & wildlife park is an extremely cozy conservation focused wildlife park! The enclosures are lovingly crafted and stocked with natural materials. It's clear by how many species that are native, and multiples, that they rescue and provide sanctuary to surrendered animals. The casual atmosphere along with the native wildlife leaves the wandering experience akin to the best kind of up close and personal views of the animals. Two handling sessions a day is an incredible opportunity included in admission price. Noodle the children's python was friendly and cute ❤️ and the handler Jin was respectful and informative. The birds are very friendly in the walk through aviaries and the dingoes are charming. All in all well worth a visit if you like to admire local wildlife and spend some time soaking in the positive vibes!

We enjoyed so much and this place has been maintained by the well knowledgeable team. We handled snake and there are so many friendly birds and kangaroos.
Bhrugi D — Google review
Beautiful, well maintained, and genuine in their cause. Most of the animals here are injured beyond ability to return to the wild, and are kept very happy and healthy here. If you go at 1130, you'll get to handle a few of them (staff are friendly and responsible) and watch them get fed some cockroaches. We spent about 2hours here. Relaxed, but not like exhaustive. Highly recommended.

Took the kids (4 & 1) there for a few hours, they loved it. Couldn’t be a better place to teach them about the local reptiles, aquatic and bird life in Western Australia. They held a python and a bobtail and loved it. My son walked in being scared of snakes (no idea why, I love them) and after he had left had held them and knew the difference between venomous ones and not venomous and to be careful when camping because it took us ages to find some of them in the enclosures.
Connor — Google review
Loved visiting today. Held a sweet little python during the handling session and the staff members running it were very responsible when letting others handle the reptiles. All staff were friendly and there is a great range of creatures here. Thanks for helping these animals.

I had the pleasure of booking the Edenvale Heritage Precinct in Pinjarra for my wedding, and it was a fantastic choice. The process to book through the Murray shire was very easy and the cost was very affordable. We booked it for a Saturday, which allowed us to pick up the keys on Friday and return them on Monday. The gardens and buildings in the precinct are absolutely beautiful and served as a picturesque backdrop for our garden wedding and reception. The inclusion of a small chapel for the ceremony was a delightful bonus. The community room, complete with toilets and a sink, was quite handy. The beautifully lit tree in the garden and the ample power points were the icing on the cake. It's a wonderful venue for a memorable wedding celebration. Photos taken by Lisa Watson Photography

Terrific spot, great cafe, shop, museum & art gallery in beautifully restored buildings. The heritage rose garden could use a bit of attention, but still a great spot.

What was going to be a quick pit-stop in Pinjarra, ended up wandering around the Evendale Heritage Precinct for nearly 2 hours. So many interesting things to look at and read about. Arts & crafts, museum, heritage building. And the tea rooms with the beautiful gardens. Across the road, the Murray River and other historic buildings, rose garden, lovely little church and the war memorial. Across the other road there is Cantwell Playground for the kids. Great place to stop and visit, spend a few hours wandering and have a tea & jam scone.
Angie D — Google review
Decided to drop into the Heritage Tea Rooms for brunch. Reasonable selection for light snacks. Larger meals also available. We saw one table had a 3 tiered stand with finger food😋 We decided to share a Reuben and a scone with jam and cream. Nice walk through the gardens to the various art, gift shops and machinery museum. The heritage rose gardens are across the road. The gardens need a bit if attention. Roses need pruning. The seat under the covered archway needs to be repaired or replaced. The creeper over the entry arch also needs a trim. The lawns and main building surrounds are well kept.

Lesmurdie Falls National Park, located in Mundy Regional Park just 30 minutes from Perth's CBD, is a top destination for nature enthusiasts. It boasts a stunning waterfall, scenic lookouts with panoramic views of Perth, and an abundance of wildflowers during the spring season. The park offers five hiking trails ranging from 0.5 to 3 kilometers in length, catering to various skill levels.
What a lovely area to visit for an easy to moderate hike! We came here in the month of April and the weather was fantastic. Not too hot and not too cold - clear blue skies with very fresh air. This area is a little busier than the rest during the middle of the day but isn’t too crowded. We did the Lesmurdie Brook Loop and the great thing with this path is it can connect to other areas - this gives a good variety of hikes for duration and difficulty!

Stunning! Worth the drive. Enjoyable path, views, park. Well maintained and cared for. Keep children close as there are steep hills, slippery trails, and sharp inclines near the paths. We suggest getting there early in the morning. 6-9am at least. Less people and easier parking.
Steph B — Google review
If you want some time out the house and feel like a house this is the place to go. Doing the full loop you may need some level of fitness and the track is unstable in some sections so situational awareness is required. Amazing fews I didn’t see any wildlife but the waterfall is just amazing. Adequately signposted when you trek and there are no toilets.

This morning I had the most refreshing start to the day at Lesmurdie Falls. Arriving at dawn meant I had the trails almost to myself, with nothing but the sound of rushing water and birdsong in the air. The cool breeze, golden sunrise over the Perth Hills, and the view of the city waking up below made it the perfect moment of peace. Hiking here at first light really is one of the best things you can do—nature feels alive, and so do you

This walk is particularly recommended in winter and spring when the rains swell Lesmurdie Brook which tumbles over the Darling Range Escarpment. A list of walk trails below are available from here of varying degrees of difficulty, Including: The Falls Trail. 640m return, Class 2, allow 45 min. The Shoulder Trail. 1.5km return, Class 3, allow 1hr. Lesmurdie Brook Loop. 1.5km loop, Class 2, allow 1 hr. The Foot of the Falls Trail. 2km return, Class 3, allow 1hr.
Lincoln I — Google review
A hiking trail with a waterfall located in Lesmurdie. It’s best to come here during winter or the rainy season to see the stunning waterfall from above and below. This place is also known for its hiking trail, with many different hiking paths with different levels of difficulty and time to choose from. Most of the hiking trails are beginner friendly, so this is highly recommended to go with friends and family. Some of the trails can be quite steep, so be aware of that. There are less water sources to refill water, so it’s best to bring plenty of water. There are also plenty of photo spots to see the waterfall, so hiking is not required to see the stunning waterfall.

Visitors can participate in the Zookeeper 4 a Day program where kids can take on various zookeeper duties. The personalized care and passion of the staff for the animals are evident as they take time to educate visitors about the residents.
I think, Amazing, sums this place up pretty well. Plenty of close ups of the animals, including hands on experiences that you don't always get with the larger zoo's. The variety of Australian animals is perfect, the animal encounters are fun and informative, and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Absolutely perfect place to take the kids or spend with your significant other. 5 out of 5 stars for sure.

Heartbreaking honestly, I had fond memories of this place but today I did not recognize it. It feels abandoned.. and in dire need of maintenance.. my kids felt sorry for the animals. - Cages rusted and damaged - next to no greenery in most cages/pens - some cages are mislabeled - no signage for empty cages - some habitats don’t support the needs of the animals they house - saw no staff apart from the guy we paid, pretty sure there was a teen working for them but plain clothed so unsure - 4 adults, 4 kids and some food for the animals - $170 This place need a serious financial injection or should be shutdown. I honestly don’t understand the 5 star reviews, expectations for zoo standards should be much higher
Alex M — Google review
I read some of the reviews before visiting. While I understand some of the negatives, I did ask some of the staff questions. Yes Red might be on reception during opening hours, his in the park before & after opening hours. The animals have regular vet checks. Staff are approachable & quick to attend to any animal issues. The facility is 40 years old so yes it's old, but always receiving on going maintenance. There's a board next to the Koala enclosure that explains what it costs to run & maintain. Overall, there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes that isn't always obvious to the public eye and Redz Zoo is a wonderful place to bring your children and family to enjoy real authentic interactions with Australian Wildlife.

Fantastic playground! Multiple play areas that are all farm themed. Lots of nature play areas with different levelled slides. There are definitely areas for younger kids but the majority is for primary school kids or even older. The play area has pavilions that are rain proof with tables and barbecues. There are toilets nearby too. The drink fountains are connected yet, only negative. No dogs allowed in the playground area.

Awesome playground that is fun, spacious, clean and filled with laughing kids. Adventurescape Playground has a lot for kids to do whether you are swinging, spinning, climbing, dangling, flying-foxing or simply weaving amongst objects. Points of Interest & Landmarks
Lake Clifton Thrombolites, located within Yalgorup National Park in Western Australia, is home to a unique natural wonder. These living rock-like formations are known as thrombolites and form the largest thrombolite reef in the Southern Hemisphere. Visitors can explore an observation platform and boardwalk offering views of these fascinating mounds. The area also provides picnic facilities, wheelchair access, and informative plaques along the walkway.
I’d never seen thrombolites before, so I didn’t know what to expect, but this was a very cool experience. Lake Clifton is lovely, and a sign marks the short road from the highway to the parking lot. Flush toilets are by the parking, and excellent information signs about the formations are found just before the very short path leads out to the boardwalk. These fascinating pillowy round stone formations stretch along the shore for a long way in each direction, and the excellent boardwalk provides terrific views as well as protection for the ancient living things.

Easy boardwalk near the Giants walk. The water was high but you could clearly see them. Watch out for the mosquitoes though. I would recommend insect repellent. Decent composting toilets at the carpark.

Even when underwater, these oxygen-producing structures are fascinating to see. The boardwalk allows a lovely walk to view them up close. I’ve visited these a number of times and they always look different. My photos below are enhanced, but that’s the fun part for inspirational art:

It's quite a sight! Very interesting to see the thrombolites. There's a short walk from the car park out to a boardwalk, very accessible. Public toilets located adjacent to the car park. This spot is just down the road from a brewery / restaurant. You could easily make this a half day outing as there are plenty of short to medium hikes around the lakes. Finish off at the brewery. Easy!

Nice stop at Lake Clifton, the thrombolites were interesting, though not mind-blowing. Worth a quick look if you’re passing. Also dropped by the Thorny Devil, great spot for a drink and bite!

Worth a visit. It's magical to know such loving organism exist.
Hanah N — Google review
Lake Clifton was full after good winter rains, so the thrombolites were submerged when we visited early November. It was a gusty day so choppy water made them harder to see, but it still felt like we were looking back through geological time at this fascinating natural "reef" created by organisms similar to those that first made life possible on Earth.
Greg F — Google review
Nice short walk out to the pier where you can over look and see the Thrombolites in the water. If the wind is up it may be a bit hard to see into the water. On a clear calm day you are able to see them very well, nice marshy area surrounding the pier and great walking trails all around. It’s close to the Thorny Devil Brewry for you to enjoy after your walk back to the car.
