We loved driving along Seventy Five Mile Beach! We were lucky to see some wild dingoes on a few occasions, two of them running into the sea to lie in the water and cool themselves! Eli Creek, the Maheno Shipwreck and The Pinnacles were great stops along the way.

we were on k'gari and you just can't miss Lake Mckenzie (Boorangoora). it is so beautyfull. so blue and you can see the bottem everywhere. so if you are there, just go to Lake Mckenzie (Boorangoora). :)

Lake McKenzie makes it probably the most visited natural site on the island. It is a ‘perched’ lake, which means it contains only rainwater, no groundwater, is not fed by streams and does not flow to the ocean. The sand and organic matter at the base of the lake form an impervious layer, preventing rainwater from draining away. The sand here is pure, white silica and is not only beautiful to look at but feels beautifully soft to walk on. The sand acts as a filter, giving the water its clarity and helping to make the water so pure it can support very little life. The blues and greens of the lake are endlessly fascinating and it’s well worth getting up early to look across it in the soft light of dawn. I have been here many times and it has always been an incredible place to be, but this particular visit was different as its the very first time I've really seen the true colours after receiving my colour correction glasses (I'm a colour-blind)... what did this mean? I went for a relaxing hike and ended up here. Decided to go for a swim, but didn't have a towel, how could you. Sad face. PS. The lake was VERY wet.

Such an amazing place. The water is crystal clear and so clean. It’s like swimming in a pool but without the chemicals in it. You’re not allowed to eat on the beaches but there are designated fenced picnic areas at the parking area. Also toilets which is wheelchair accessible. Only downside is that it’s very busy with tour buses and the road to get there is not in a good condition. Put this on your to do list!

Great view and short walk from parking space. There 2 scenic lookout. Have to walk down towards the beach, but theres no connection to the beach.

Always face place of mine to visit. It is close to a km walk from the car park to the blow hole. Make sure you take the time and effort to get to the edge of the cliff over looking the ocean, it is a little tough if you have issues walking as very sandy and need some strength to get back up. Billion dollar views await !

Its huge and its beautiful. Amazing place for the sunset. Just 10 minutes walk from the car park. Close to Rainbow Beach. I would recommend everyone to Take water bottle and a big beach towel or picnic mat to sit and watch the sunset. We went there on a weekday so it wasnt that crowdy, it could be really crowdy in the weekends as it is very beautiful place. 👍

Such a wonderful experience, and a great find when travelling in this area. Quite an unusual area, but a great place for sand boarding, or even just rolling down the sand dune. Beautiful sea views at the coastal side with paragliding and the opportunity for whale watching, alongside beautiful green landscapes at the other. The sand blow is about a 5 minute walk from the car park, and definitely a must when in the area!

Amazing. Love this location at sunset, and it can get quite busy here with people coming to have a drink and watch the sun set! Fun to boogie board down the sand dunes and wander around, see the water and beach below. It's a short walk from the carpark through the bush (300ish metres or so, maybe?) with some stairs along the way. Love this spot!

Multiple great walks to choose from. The coastal walk was absolutely beautiful with great views along the whole way, gorgeous look outs and access to sandy beaches. Great photo opportunities. Also lots of spots either on the beach or at some of the lookouts to have lunch. Also a lovely area at the entrance for a little picnic. Really enjoyed it!

Pictures don’t do it justice so stunning! We were able to see dolphins and whales along our walk. The fairy pools are farther down than expected be careful but it’s the views. We wended up not swimming in them because we for distracted by a pod of dolphins swimming by. Tea tree bay was a nice swim. A little chilly still since we are coming out a winter into spring (September). But we still went out!

Noosa National Park is an absolute gem and easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited in Australia. I spent half a day exploring and could have stayed much longer — the combination of coastal scenery, wildlife, and peaceful walking trails makes it a truly special spot. The Coastal Track is the highlight and a must-do. It’s well maintained and runs along the edge of the cliffs, offering incredible ocean views the entire way. I started from the main entrance near Noosa Heads and walked all the way to Hell’s Gates. Along the way, there are several lookout points — Tea Tree Bay, Dolphin Point, and Granite Bay were my favorites. Each offers a slightly different perspective of the coastline, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot dolphins or turtles in the water below. Wildlife spotting was another highlight. I actually saw a koala resting high up in a eucalyptus tree near Tea Tree Bay — such a cool moment! The park is also full of birds, and you’ll often hear them before you see them. If you plan to visit, I’d recommend going early in the morning. The car park near the main entrance fills up quickly, especially on weekends, and it can get busy later in the day. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and maybe a snack or two if you’re walking the full track. There are also a few beaches along the way if you want to stop for a swim or just relax by the water. Overall, Noosa National Park is a perfect blend of natural beauty, wildlife, and tranquility. Whether you’re into hiking, photography, or just want a peaceful escape surrounded by nature, this place has it all. I can’t wait to go back — it’s the kind of spot that stays with you long after you leave.

Noosa National Park is absolutely stunning — easily one of the best coastal walks in the State. The track follows the cliffs with sweeping ocean views, turquoise coves, and shady sections through eucalyptus forest. The walk to Hell’s Gates is especially beautiful, and there are plenty of spots to stop for photos or a quiet break. Perfect mix of accessibility and wild natural beauty.

The coastal walk at Noosa National Park is absolutely stunning. The scenery changes constantly along the way — from sparkling beaches to rugged cliffs and lush bushland — so there’s always something beautiful to look at. It’s definitely doable, though you’ll want to be at least a little bit fit, especially if you’re planning to walk the whole track. I’d highly recommend doing the full coastal walk if you have the time. It’s roughly 10 km return (give or take depending on where you start), and every step is worth it. A truly spectacular experience. 🌊🌿✨

I would have rated this place 5 stars for the scenery and the very well maintained toilets and walking tracks, but it’s INCREDIBLY, AWFULLY CROWDED!! I’ve seen less people in shopping centres than here. And the parking situation SUCKS!!!!! We were lucky enough to get a park in a side street nearby-ish, but I saw a lot of vehicles do the round trip between the roundabout on Hastings Street and the NP car park, with no success. On the coastal track there were heaps of people, and a fair few runners dodging the walkers, which can be annoying for both. We also walked the Tanglewood track, and that was a completely different experience. Very few people, and some nice rainforest sections. Unfortunately the signage left a lot to be desired and twice we ended up on a maintenance track by mistake. If you’re in Noosa, it’s worth a look but I would not recommend making a special trip here unless you’re into riding a longboard. The surf was pretty good, if you’re willing to get up early or walk a mile or two to get to the beach.

An incredible place with stunning coastal walks and picturesque beaches like Fairy Pools. The trails are well-maintained, offering amazing views. Just be aware that finding parking can be a real challenge, so plan to arrive very early or consider walking from Hastings Street to avoid the hassle. It's a must-visit, but the parking situation requires some strategic thinking!

Great place to visit. This is an excellent beach with beautiful restaurants, bakeries, cafes, souvenir shops and more. There are clean wash room facilities on the beach area. Parking can be difficult/very limited on busy days.

Great boardwalk and great views! Best on a weekday, weekends might be too busy I think 🤔. Pretty hard to get a park anywhere here though, so you might have to walk to it from afar like I had to.

Stunning sunrise views, very crowded and feels lively. Very clean facilities and includes water refills which are frequently cleaned which was nice. One of, if not the best beaches on the coast.

Whether you’re grabbing a bite on Hastings Street between swims or watching the sun melt into the water, Main Beach always hits. It’s clean, beautiful, and somehow makes you forget every problem you’ve ever had. The only downside? The sheer volume of people. At peak times it feels like half of Australia had the exact same idea — but honestly, when a beach is this stunning, can you even blame them? If paradise had a postcode, it would be Noosa. 🌞🏖️

Busy, with lots of things for kids - not that we had any with us. We didn't do any tours, but walked around the established gardens, had a good ice cream cup at a quiet picnic table. A few decently priced gift shops with interesting items. Don't buy nuts in the Factory shop, but go across the road to the Nut Factory. Lots of electric car chargers, toilets for adults and kids.

We arrived at 9:30am and purchased tickets for the 10am Ginger Factory Tour and the 11am Live Bee Show. The taste testing was incredible — Kathy and Erin were both so knowledgeable and engaging! The rainbow umbrella walk was absolutely stunning, and the “Boat Around the World” ride was wonderfully interactive with great displays that kept everyone entertained. Lunch at the Ginger Kitchen came out quickly, and everyone enjoyed their meals. Afterward, we did the Zog Rainforest Walk, where we even met a real-life Zog! The train ride was a lovely way to finish exploring the grounds — it really showed how well-maintained the gardens are and gave us a chance to spot some local wildlife. Before heading home, we stopped for gelato at the Gelato Bar (delicious!) and browsed through the gift shop. Overall, a fantastic day out for all ages — fun, educational, and beautifully presented. Highly recommend! 🌿🍯🚂

Fun day had by all the family. Such a chilled day. Adored the colourful umbrellas , took some great pics. Everyone had fun on the interactive Zog trail. Free to enter was a pleasant surprise, we happily paid for the train and boat rides which the grandkids loved .

We’ve only visited the Ginger Factory once so far, but I’m 100% sure it won’t be our last time. We had tickets for the train and the boat but didn’t purchase any extras, and it was still a memorable and fantastic day with my little one. Next time, we’ll definitely try some of the additional activities.

It’s valuable experience, learned lot about ginger and how it’s made, history of Australian 1st ginger factory and their transition. Really good for children who want know about the history of ginger in australia. And honey bees, it was good educational talk and the way bees are working, those are really memorable.

What an amazing experience for kids and adults alike. We didn't do the factory tour, so I can't comment on that. But my kids enjoyed the boat ride and the train ride. There so much to do. Playground, bouncy castle, a nice forest walk, even an umbrella walk. The ginger Gelato was delicious and so was the ginger beer. My 3 year old was crying cause he didn't want it go home after 2 hours. Definitely could have spent half a day there, but the park was closing. The only criticisms and what is preventing me in giving 5 stars would be, if you say you close at 5, why end the boat rides at 4, the train ride at 4:30 and the coffee shops by 4:30 as well. Just say you're open til 4:30. We came at 3, thinking we had 2 hours, instead we were "ushered out the door" by 4:30, with a staff member jokingly saying, "oh, you're still here? We would have come earlier had we known

Easily one of my favorite places to visit. It’s really close to home and I think it’s a great place to be whether on the beach/grass/or up on the esplanade!

Mooloolaba beach has always been a beautiful beach. Playgrounds for kids. Great shower and toilet facilities. Great Surf Lifesavers patrol the beach. Swim between the flags.

Awesome Aquarium, very focused on wildlife knowledge and how to care for the environment. Our son loved it, and was frothing from start to finish. The seal show was awesome, and loved the tunnels with sharks, days and fish. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and very well priced experience. Book online early to get discount tickets but either way is a great day out for the family

Great experience at the aquarium! We saw all of the displays, heard a talk about the penguins 🐧 & saw a seal show! As two students the tickets were affordable and the experience was worth while! Not sure how great the venue would be for repeat visits but it was an excellent and highly recommended spot for a day trip while in Moolooaba. The seal shows were at 10:30 and 12:30 from memory, this may vary day to day. Lovely staff and good vibes all around:)

Absolutely adore coming here! I finally managed to go for the amazing animal crossing event and it was better than I imagined! I thoroughly enjoyed the little stamp ralley and best of all, meeting Isabelle! It was genuinely one of the sweetest things ever and I gave her a drawing as a gift and token of my appreciation! Your staff were also fantastic today, big shoutout to Tiffany who we had a lovely chat to for ages and I think Ruth who was with Isabelle! You guys made this experience so amazing and I love what you do! 💜

The admission prices are reasonable. But if you book days in advance they are cheaper. We paid an extra $15 per person for the Behind-the-Scenes Tour I loved seeing all the animals. There was an adorable baby penguin and a fun hands-on section where we got to touch some marine life. Walking through the underwater tunnels was definitely a highlight, it felt like being surrounded by the ocean — though it was crowded at times. The Behind-the-Scenes Tour was a great experience. We saw how they house for injured animals and protect local marine life. There were three green sea turtles recovering, and we got to look down into the big pool above the tunnels — seeing the sharks and other animals swimming below was amazing. The seal show was light-hearted and fun, especially Ruby, a playful five-year-old seal. She was absolutely adorable! In total, we saw three seals during the show. The café, which had some food options — mainly small snacks and pies. So, don’t expect a full meal there. The only downside was, the Behind-the-Scenes Tour felt a little short, and unfortunately, no photos or videos were allowed during it. A wonderful experience and perfect would definitely come back again!!

Was here 20 years ago as a kid, now back again as an adult. Still as incredible as ever! That said I miss the 2006 Jeep Fishtank. In where the engine was the filter system. Pretty mad lol.

2nd time visiting in 7 years, both times just me and my husband. We enjoyed it just as much this time as we did the first. They have some shows during the day so if you are into these, be sure to check the schedule. If you aren't, and you like it a little less busy, then go when everyone is at the show, its a lot quieter.

Very interactive. Also very interesting to hear and see how the programs are put together and animals cared for.

Such a wonderful place for adults and kids! Bird world is a pretty special experience. The cafe is good, all staff very friendly and the gardens are beautiful and the little petting farm is cute too. Definitely recommend as somewhere to goof you haven’t been. I took my partner there, and we had a great time!

We visited Bird World in Maleny and focused mainly on the guided bird tour, and it was absolutely incredible. The experience was highly interactive, with birds landing on us throughout the tour, including macaws, parrots, and cockatoos. Sometimes we had multiple birds at a time sitting on us. Truly unforgettable. Our guide, Lidia, was warm, knowledgeable, and fantastic at reading both the birds’ comfort levels and the visitors’. She clearly knows her stuff and cares deeply about the wellbeing of the birds, which made the whole experience even better. We also took a brief walk around the gardens, which were beautifully maintained and incredibly picturesque. The park itself has a lovely café with views stretching out to the Glass House Mountains, a perfect spot to unwind after the tour. There is also a petting zoo for the kids with a large assortment of different animals for them to enjoy. If you love birds, go to this place. It’s an amazing experience and absolutely worth the visit.

We had the most beautiful day. Beautiful gardens, stunning bird aviary with plenty of interaction with the birds, the gorgeous animals in the animal farm, full Devonshire Tea with the biggest scones I've ever seen & so delicious, a perfect sunny day & the most helpful, informative and wonderful staff. A perfect day. 🥰 We did have a cart that enabled us to get around this huge garden, it certainly is something I would recommend. Even though it is winter when we visited the gardens are still stunning, I certainly will be returning though when the huge rose garden is blooming. I highly recommend a visit & say to you Malany Botanical Gardens & Bird Aviary be very very proud of what you have, it is a special place to visit. 🥰

We , 4 adults and 3 children, had a wonderful afternoon here. The botanic gardens are fabulous . The bird tour was so well done and it was fun being interactive. The birds are pretty, so entertaining and look happy. There was so much to see . We were there until closing but could have stayed longer. There are plenty of lovely spots to have a picnic . The cakes we had from the cafe were delicious. ( only minor disappointment was coffee was no longer available just after 3 pm ) thoroughly recommend a trip here and would definitely come back.

I had such an awesome time at the Maleny Botanical Gardens and Bird Sanctuary! 🌿🦜 The entry price was very reasonable, especially for everything that was included. You get to wander through the beautiful botanical gardens, which are peaceful, well-kept, and full of stunning plants and scenery. On top of that, there are some animals to see along the way, which added a nice surprise. The highlight for me, though, was definitely the Bird Sanctuary tour. It’s made up of Four different sanctuaries—two are non-interactive, and the other two are interactive. The interactive ones were so much fun, with the birds actually sitting on your arms, shoulders, and even your head! One cheeky bird even gave me a little nip, which made for a funny memory. The whole experience was a mix of beauty, fun, and laughter, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a great day out. Five stars from me—absolutely worth the visit! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Fantastic day out for families. The aviary tour was fun and interactive. You can grab a yummy coffee and some nibbles and venture to any of the many little seated areas or gazebos around the gardens with views to die for. Would highly recommend the buggy hire! This was such a highlight of our weekend and will definitely be back.

A good experience in a fantastic location. The gardens & the bird show were both memorable experiences, as was the location itself, overlooking the beautiful glasshouse mountains. We paid the extra $12 each for the guided tour, but I would advise others to book this in advance, we almost missed out. The tour was wonderful, there were many up close experiences with the many beautiful species. The tour host was lovely & informative, just make sure you don't try to take home a feather for a memento, that is not allowed. Please note that the $27 adult entry fee to the park & bird world doesn't get you anywhere near the birds you will want to get close to, so it's actually $39 each. Definitely worth the trip, follow it up with a meal/shop/walk around beautiful Maleny, what a great place!!

Spent the entire day there! Great place to just breathe and take in all the wonders of the animal world. Very well set up and run by the happiest people on earth. Highly recommend everyone to visit. Incredible display of the Irwin families private collections. Roberts photography is amazing to see (and buy)! Fantastic day!

Lovely zoo, and very well maintained. Grounds are well looked after and lots of thought has been put into it's landscape and architecture. Staff are very friendly, amenities are clean. There is a shuttle bus between areas of the zoo but it is a nice walk around the place on flat terrain. Bring lots of water and wesr comfortable shoes to enjoy the day out. Various shows on throughout the day for entertainment and educational promotion. Plenty of parking.

It's an absolutely brilliant day out for the family, offering genuinely close-up views of iconic Australian and international animals. ​The zoo is expansive, requiring a full day if not a bit more to explore, and there is plenty to look at and do. Including engaging live shows / talks that are both educational and highly entertaining. The dedication to wildlife preservation is evident at every turn—from the exhibits to the staff's enthusiasm—making you feel like your ticket contributes directly to a worthy cause. ​Unfortunately, the day ended on a sour note that prevents a perfect 5-star rating, related entirely to the closing procedure. There was no clear announcement or warning about the zoo closing soon, which left us scrambling to reach the exit shuttle. ​A staff member was directing everyone onto the shuttle to return to the exit. When two members of our group fell slightly behind (less than a minute), the staff member refused to hold the shuttle for them, stating abruptly that "They will have to turn around and walk back." Given the sheer size of the grounds, forcing paying guests—especially families to split up and a young child —to undertake a significant walk due to a lack of notice and an unwillingness to wait moments for their companions is unacceptable and directly contradicts the friendly atmosphere cultivated throughout the rest of the day. ​While I hope this was an isolated incident of poor judgment from one individual, it was a disappointing final memory on our first visit. ​A world-class zoo and a must-visit for anyone in Queensland.

Amazing experience! Very huge park with professional staff and experienced people who take care of all the animals there. You have the feeling, that they know exactly what to do and that they treat the animals well. Relaxed atmosphere and a huge variation of different animals there. It’s not just a regular average Zoo. It’s a huge animal adventure park. It’s hard to explore everything in just one day.

With well-maintained facilities, plenty of rest areas, and a clean environment, Australia Zoo is a comfortable place to spend a full day. What a wonderful zoo! I felt good about the care the animals received and how many were rescues. The zookeepers really seem to care. Feeding and petting free roaming kangaroos was sooo cool. And they only charge $3 for a good size bag of food for them. A very cool experience.

So incredible!!! Absolutely loved the zoo, animals are clearly cared for. Its massive!! Definitely need comfy shoes, and some drinks. Will take a few hours to get through. Loved the show and the energy, staff are great. Was very enjoyable!! Food is standard with typical “zoo food”.

Redcliffe is a lovely place..We started at the Rsl for lunch then went for a walk on the jetty..It was great to see all the teenagers enjoying themselves jumping into the water..Then over to Bee Gees Way..How great is it..There are statues of them and information galore..There is seating so you can watch the short movie..I'm amazed how they can have all this and it's not vandalised..Must be a fantastic community..Lots of lovely shops..There is a English fish and chip shop that we'll be returning to next year..I did get a ice cream in the Big kids ice creamery and some English lollies in the confectionery shop..I'll be back..

My wife and I live near Redcliffe and I have visited this 'walk through' tribute to the Bee Gees- many, many times. Great music, good spoken commentary. Excellent visuals, including video of the BG's performing. Well worth a visit. Nearly forgot - " it's a 100% Free Attraction!

Nice place for a walk and recommend to have a look in case you're in Brisbane. Close are trendy bars and caffes, we spend like half of the day there around.

I'm so in love with this place. The view is outstanding. Its quite busy with alot of people biking and running along the water way. I have been here on multiple occasions to dine, drink or even just catch the city cat across the water. I plan to get an apartment here one day soon.

This is the central river hub where all the ferries come and where the riverboats live. It is a great location of restaurants and cafes overlooking the water. I saw the Riverboat office and did the Christmas lunch tour from here..

Beautiful area! Within walking distance to the CBD and botanical gardens. Beautiful outlook over the river, with boats moored in front and Kangaroo Points cliffs towering up on the other side. The high rise architectural design here is phenominal. There are walking and bike tracks all along the river. The cafes here cater to the high class consumer with a diverse range of cultural gastronomy on offer (i.e.; latin, asian, western cuisine etc and coffee). Unfortunately the area lacks options for those on a lower budget. Otherwise it is a very pituresque area, well worth investigating!

A great area for entertainment & travelling over the Brisbane river! My girlfriend and I court the free ferry City hopper to Holeman Pier to go to the Storey Bridge! A very upmarket restaurant!

We were in Brisbane for medical reasons and had had a rough few days. Catching the City Cat was just what we needed. Joseph in particular was incredibly kind and funny and brightened our day. The crew made a big effort to help people and have genuine conversations. I was so grateful and impressed. If you’re like me and think “I’ll wing it and do the whole loop” be aware it’s really long and goes for more than 2 hours!!

City Cat Terminal South Bank like the other City Cat Terminal’s is great. Travelling to South Bank on a City Cat is the best option to get to South Bank. No hassle with parking, as well as riding on the Brisbane River. The staff are always helpful when notifications on the stop that’s approaching. Staff are helpful with any questions that you may have. Jump on a City Cat to South Bank and enjoy the ride.

Bossy staff, only letting 8 people on the ferry at a time (although the ferry offered much more seats). We waited for half an hour and then still didn't get on the ferry, so we decided to take the bus instead. Bit disappointing. Place was clean though and offered enough seats in the waiting area.

Great trip on the river around the city. Nice new and clean stations, friendly staff, clean and tidy ferry's. BUT NO WAY TO BUY A TICKET. You've got services, crew on board, lighting and power just put in a kiosk where you can purchase a go card. Extremely frustrating when you are travelling from interstate. Riding a CityCat is a must for any visitor to Brisbane and a surprisingly rewarding experience for locals. This is the ultimate way to see the variety of Brisbane lifestyle, buildings and landmarks in a relatively inexpensive and easy to use service. Depending on how much have, you can explore Brisbane from the quiet rescue residential area of St Lucia to the busy reaches of the Brisbane river around Hamilton. The CityCat is part of the TransLink network so you use your GoCard or [or it’s soon to be introduced Smart Ticketing] Simply tap on and ride the CityCat for the entire round trip. For example, if you get on at South Bank, go upstream to the University of Qld, stay on the boat and then go right to Hamilton, stay on the boat and return to South Bank. That round would trip will take about two hours and 40 minutes all up. The off-peak cost for an adult at the time of writing is $3.37. But you can jump on and off and off and if you get back on without an hour it is considered as a continuation of your journey for the one fare. The new generation of CityCats has a top deck that you ride on. Otherwise, the front or rear decks provide an exhilarating experience. The best place I’ve ever been to. The kind of place that makes your heart happy just by looking at nature. We went there when it was raining, and it was so beautiful that we couldn’t stop admiring the greenery. I absolutely loved this place and would love to visit again.

A very good place to view the entire Brisbane city. Super view from the watch tower. It is recommended to bring food on your own or there is a restaurant which has been and food items but costly. The parking looks free. But I need to check again. Rest everything is good. Nice place to relax. I went at night and the view was amazing. Feels like sitting in an aircraft and flying too close on top of a metropolitan city. I couldn't identify any locations on my first visit. But I liked it a lot. Using good binoculars are highly recommended on locations like this. Here I'm uploading some views from here during the night.

The Mount Coo-tha summit lookout has sweeping views over Brisbane city. There's ample parking. The lookout is wheelchair ♿️ friendly. Next to the lookout is The Summit cafe and restaurant which is quite nice for a coffee ☕️ and sweet treat, breakfast, lunch or dinner.

One of the famous spots to visit in Brisbane. This place is accessible with public transport. You can catch a bus here from the city. This is the place where you can see the views of Brisbane City from top. Nonetheless, there is not much to see besides the city views. The views might not be the best, but it is also because we came in the afternoon. Based on other reviews, it’s best to come here during sunrise or sunset to see a more breathtaking view of the city from top.

Easy to reach using private or public transport from the QBD. The venue hosts different species not just koalas but also Kangaroos, crocodiles, reptiles, birds. For the welfare of animals koalas cannot be hugged but guests can pay more to see them closer and cuddle them with the supervision of staff. Everybody working seemed professional and committed to preserve the welfare of the animals. A bit pricy, but considering what you get it is still worth a visit.

A must-visit in Brisbane! Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is an amazing experience where you can get up close with koalas, kangaroos, and so many native Australian animals. The park is well-maintained, staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the animals are clearly well cared for. Loved the chance to see a koala up close and feed the kangaroos such a memorable experience for locals and visitors alike!

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is a must-visit considering it's status as the world's first, oldest, and largest koala sanctuary in the world. It was truly a special experience seeing and interacting with the koalas and kangaroos up close especially in the huge free-roam area where the kangaroos were. The park is very well-maintained, with a number of other sections with a variety of other insects and animals. Definitely worth a visit if ever in Brisbane!

Is a fantastic place to visit, you can be with the Kanguru and give them a special food. if you pay a little more you can touch the koala for some minutes and take pretty nice pictures. The sanctuary space is beautiful with a very good structure, with birds, crocodile and more.

Amazing place to visit if you want to get up close and personal with Australia's (more friendly) wildlife. Got to feed Wallabies and kangaroos and saw loads more as well. Visited via the river cruise from the city and that was a great way to do it. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Brisbane.

Fantastic for the whole family. The owl encounter far exceeded my expectations. Leanne and the team have so much knowledge and really know how to respect the animals and also have them guided over in a way that they seemed to be genuinely having fun. Beautiful lay out, and the Koalas were so very special.

Excellent experience kangaroos can be fed. The Tasmanian Devil looks soft but look at those jaws and teeth. Koala are always good to watch. So is the Platypus we saw a central python as well as all the other birds and animals. Well worth the entry fee. You may want to get there early before the crowds come in we went on a week day and by lunch time there were people everywhere

It’s Movie World, what more can I say. Well… for those wishing to read on… it’s a brilliant place. To get my only major ‘knock’ out of the way, it’s the lines. They’re a pain in the …., especially when you have young kids waiting. But hey, it’s Movie World. Several rides were closed which was a shame so helpful tip - download the App before attending and it’ll tell you which rides are offline and what each rides wait time is. Very handy. We took our own food to save some $$$ however from what we saw it was reasonably priced. Sincehaving attending in previous years, the overall place does seem to have lost a little of its vibe. Not as many people / characters dressed up, some shops and displays closed, and the usually fantastic street parade was a little lacklustre compared to other times we’ve seen it. With that all said, overall, awesome day out!

We had a fantastic day at Movie World! The rides were exciting and so much fun absolutely loved DC roller coaster 🎢 . The Hollywood Stunt Driver show was an absolute highlight, full of energy and impressive action. The character parade added a nice touch to the experience too. The only downside was the limited vegan and vegetarian food options, which made it a bit hard to find suitable meals during the day. Hopefully, they’ll add more variety in the future. Overall, it’s a great day out filled with fun rides, shows, and entertainment!

Must visit if you are in Gold Coast. There are rides for every age. Driving school is my kids favourite. We were there during non-school holidays. Even that, the waiting times for the popular rides were averagely around 30mins. Can't imagine how it would be during the school holidays. Maybe it's worth getting the fast track pass at $121 to speed things up. But be aware, you can only use it ONCE per ride. At least you get to decide which ride you wanna spend time queueing up again for a second round. I don't think you can possibly finish trying all the rides in a day without the fast pass. It can get really sunny during the queueing up. If you don't wanna get sunburn or tanned, prepare some UV protection - UV parka etc. Wild West Falls Adventure Ride should be improved to have shelves for riders to keep their bulky belonging prior to the ride. We were required to carry everything along. I was so worried that my belongings would fly out from my handbag! The most thrilling ride is the DC Rivals. Seriously the best rollercoaster ride I've ever had! Green lantern is awesome too. We had a blast! Thanks for the fun!

The characters aren’t just for kids—they make the whole park feel alive, and I’ll admit I couldn’t resist stopping for photos. Of course, the rides are every bit as unforgettable. The DC Rivals HyperCoaster is the crown jewel—tall, fast, and absolutely relentless. The first drop had my stomach in my throat, but by the time I got off I was grinning ear to ear. The Superman Escape and other thrill rides keep the adrenaline going, so you’ve always got something to look forward to between character encounters. Movie World is the rare kind of theme park that balances high-energy thrills with Hollywood magic. For me, it was the perfect mix—racing down roller coasters one minute, then running into Superman the next. If you’re after big rides and a bit of movie magic, this place delivers both in spades.

This location offers an excellent visitor experience, featuring impressive production sets and exhilarating rides. The motor stunts are a particular highlight, providing an authentic portrayal of a scripted stunt narrative. While the overall experience was positive, it did not surpass Universal Studios Singapore.

Fantastic day out. Facilities and assistance for people with disabilities is excellent. Make sure to go to guest services for all the information. The parade was a bit disappointing. Needs more glitz, glamor and more excitement. It was very short. Overall, our family had a wonderful time.

Nice park, not too big, but definitely has some great rides like the Joker one. Unfortunately, almost half of the park was closed when we were there and the ticket was still full price. Anyway, great little park, and the new rides and theme is very nice!

I had an amazing time with the kids, watching their faces light up as they saw dolphins perform for the first time. My kids were full of excitement exploring the penguin exhibit and learning about marine life in a fun, hands-on way. The kids were thrilled to interact so closely with the animals. It was a joyful and memorable day, filled with laughter, learning, and shared moments of wonder by the sea.

Spent the day at SeaWorld recently, and enjoyed it. Liked all the shows, especially the dolphin one! Was grateful that they had a proper sit-down restaurant that served health food. My husband and I both had the bowl each. which was as delicious as it was nutritious 😋 We were disappointed with the water ski show though. Gone were the impressive multi-acrobatic moves. All we saw this time was a show between two rival gangs and some boring stunts. We also did the helicopter ride. The 10 minute deal is the best in my opinion. The pilot was very informative; he doubled up as the tour guide Overall SeaWorld was a great experience 😃

Sea World is truly one of our favourite family destinations on the Gold Coast! We had an unforgettable day filled with fun, learning, and amazing marine life encounters. The dolphin and seal presentations were absolutely incredible, such talented animals and dedicated trainers! The park is beautifully maintained, clean, and easy to get around. There’s a great mix of attractions for both kids and adults — from the exciting rides to the relaxing lagoon areas. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made sure everyone felt welcome and safe. It’s the perfect place to create lasting memories with the family. We can’t wait to come back again soon!

Love it there. So many things to try although some places are not open. Like Atlantis ride and Donatello ride. I have to say, baby Penguins are the cutest around haha. When you get to lunch watch out for Seagulls. Yes!.. theyll snatch your food in a instant There are sharks too, they did a wonderful job in conservation as well. Hate to say it but I got on Bikini bottom rides - Patrick the starfish, School bus because to me that is the safest ride. Have a peak at your theme park pass app they will tell you exactly the time for each performance. It does make you trip there memorable.

We visited just a few weeks ago, curious (and slightly concerned) about how the beach would be, but honestly, it’s holding its charm and energy better than expected. The beach is clean, wide, and absolutely stunning. Golden sands stretch endlessly, and the turquoise-blue waves are as inviting as ever. Lifeguards are stationed frequently along the shore, which gives a good sense of safety for families and tourists alike. Despite the natural event that hit earlier in the year, the beach has bounced back impressively — there’s a sense of resilience and calm that’s comforting to see. The vibe is still alive and well. Surfers are out catching waves, kids are building sandcastles, and couples are strolling along the shore at sunset. That warm, buzzing atmosphere that makes Surfers Paradise so iconic hasn’t faded. Locals and visitors have returned, and it feels like a beautiful community coming back to life. We noticed some parts of the beach that still show signs of the tsunami’s impact — slightly reshaped sand dunes and fewer seating spots in some areas — but honestly, it doesn’t take away from the overall experience. The city has done a great job keeping it maintained and welcoming. What we loved most was the accessibility. You’re steps away from cafes, shops, and restaurants, so it’s easy to grab a drink or bite and head right back to the water. Sunrise and sunset walks are magical here, especially with the skyline rising just behind you. Nature can test even the most iconic places, but Surfers Paradise Beach has held its ground with grace. It’s still one of the most beautiful and enjoyable beaches in Australia — peaceful, vibrant, and deeply refreshing. I love traveling, but I think this was the most beautiful sea I’ve seen so far. It was so transparent, clean, and blue—and not too deep, so everyone could enjoy it. I don’t know how to swim, but it was perfect just to dip my feet in. The sand was sooo soft, you wouldn’t even want to wear shoes.

Coolangatta is such a great place! And of course, the beach is beautiful as well! You can enjoy the view of the Gold Coast skyline while you swim or just walk along the trail and it is just breathtaking! The beach is also not overcrowded and was not destroyed much by the cyclone so its landscape is well kept! Together with the overall vibe of Coolangatta it just gives chill vibes, much different compared to Surfers Paradise but I actually like this more! This place is just less commercialized and more vacation-type of style! Come on a sunny day and you'll be amazed

Cooly is my FAVOURITE beach on the Gold Coast! Been going for years as it’s the perfect proximity to shops, cafes and restaurants and retail galore along the strip! Has everything you need within walking distance, and the beach is a hidden gem that looks as though you have walked into some unknown paradise. Just next door is Greenmount where it’s a beautiful place for a picturesque picnic, and you can go for a lovely walk on the pathway that takes you on a scenic route. Beach is fantastic for kids as at low tide a natural pool forms that is not dangerous waves and for those that want to surf, you can peter out into the waves. We holiday there every year and it’s the best time of me, my husband and kids lives. I could rave about it for ages, but let’s just say you won’t regret going for a day trip thru summer or a holiday 💞

beautiful white sand beach, plenty of parking spaces, shops just cross road. it's very interesting to view in distance that the bottom level of buildings in Surfers Paradise, are blow sea level.

In the late afternoon near evening, you can clearly see the waves and sea reflecting sunlights, which is very bright but beautiful.

Coolangatta Beach is just a great place to visit and spend quality time with the family relaxing, swimming, building sand castles or just enjoying sitting and let the fresh sea air cool you. I came to the beach with my family today my first visit and I know it will not be my last. What a great place to spend time with my Grandchildren it was such a delight. The water is a beautiful colour whereever you look and there is plenty of beach not to be over crowded with people. Just a great place to be and have fun. There are lots of Cafes and Shops if sitting on the beach isn't your thing but for me the sand is just perfect. I would definitely recommend a visit.

The Natural Bridge circuit walk (about an hour) is absolutely stunning! The highlight is the beautiful natural rock bridge glowing in the sunshine with a waterfall flowing gently beneath it — the water sparkles in the light and creates such a peaceful atmosphere. The walk itself is easy and scenic, surrounded by lush greenery. Plenty of parking available, making it very accessible. A truly calming and magical spot to visit.

What an absolutely breathtaking place, well worth the winding roads. The drive itself is phenomenal, the locations is amazing. It took us less than 20 minutes to do the entire walk, but we stopped and admired the views along the way. If you are wanting to do something outside of the attractions when in the Gold Coast, make sure to take the time to head up here and stop at The View cafe at Hinz Dam on your way back 😊

Lovely walk through the forest before getting to the waterfall. Saw lots of wildlife including lizards and snakes. The waterfall and cave itself were beautiful. Tip for you if you lean back over the railing and look for a hole in the ceiling you may even spot a few glow worms, even in the day. The walk was absolutely lovely and the environment was beautiful.

5 of us took a quick walk around the track here. Really nice scenery as you head down all of the stairs and across the bridge. About half way through you come across the waterfall from a few different perspectives. Really nice spot inside the cafe to admire the scenery. In all it probably took us about 45 mins, with a few stops to take everything in. No real picnic spots that we could see but there were public toilets.

Wow wow wow 😯🤗 Such an amazing place to visit Loved the water falling through the rock to the stream below. Easy walking track which is very well signed. Even saw a frilled neck lizard. Would be great at dusk to see the glow worms

Absolutely stunning short walk, with breathtaking views of the waterfall into the cave system. The walk to the falls is quite easy, with views from the top of the falls and from within the cave. Plenty of photo opportunities throughout, with the walk likely busy during peak times. Plenty of parking available, and toilet facilities near the entrance.

Great spot for an easy hike — about an hour walk, not too hard. The cave and waterfall are stunning. Watch out for carpet pythons though!

Such a beautiful gallery, we accidentally found it. I have wanted to visit Margaret Olley Gallery since it opened in 2014. I wasn't disappointed at all. The essence of Margaret Olley is presented well here, and one can feel Margaret Olley in her rooms.

If I could give this gallery 10 stars I would. We went on a Sunday morning and joined the 11.30am tour with Hella. Wonderfully comprehensive, starting with Margaret Olley’s house recreation. And going on to a curated wall including a Monet and 3 Margaret Olley originals! A Monet in Murwillumbah! You can even buy a book bag with this on it. Fantastic gallery, incredible views, great location, and it’s free. Take a jumper, it’s absolutely freezing in the gallery and you won’t want to rush through as there’s so much to see. We went to Murwillumbah for lunch afterwards, I’d recommend you check the open times if you have a particular cafe in mind, we got caught out being a Sunday afternoon. I’ve seen the Margaret Olley Archibald Prize winning portrait when it was at GOMA in Brisbane, but now it feels like she has made her way to her rightful home at the Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre. Highly, highly recommend. I’ll be going back.

Must visit art gallery if you’re in Murwillumbah or in Gold Coast. Interesting to see the special exhibition dedicated to Olle. Despite not being an artist, i love to visit art gallery where i am from. There is so much knowledge to learn from each masterpiece at every art gallery i have been visiting.

Visited gallery today. It's an amazing gallery with spectacular views across the river & area. Exhibitions hung at present are well worth the trip. Ben Quilty Archibald Margaret Ollie portrait an amazing addition. Truely a gem of culture in the middle of the bush. Well worth the trip from anywhere. Do yourself a favour.

Visited for the first time. Fantastic regional gallery. The replica of Margaret Olley’s Paddington home was really interesting and gave an insight into this Aussie character. Well worth a visit! Ben Quilty’s Archibald portrait of Olley was a personal highlight. Items from the National Gallery currently on display including Monet’s Haysatcks, midday was a nice surprise.

Great place. They recreated Margaret Olley's place exactly how it was. Over 21000 items moved and put back to how when she lived in the house. Awesome exhibition.

This walking track is a wonderful experience for nature lover. If you are visiting during July - November you can enjoy seeing whales and dolphins from the view points there. The place is clean and have drinking water facilities and washrooms too. You can reach the most easterly point of Australia mainland from the walking track. View of the ocean is amazing. I had a wonderful time there, watching waves and listening to bird songs..❤️

Just beautiful. The loop is 3,6km or 4,2 if you do the last little bit in trail. Obviously touristy, but we did in winter with good weather and not many people were there. Just at the lighthouse was a bit more, but still extremely enjoyable. Definitely worth it. We spotted many whales and dolphins

Sensational. Absolutely sensational. Oh… it was a bloody challenge and not for those with knee or back issues but it was a GREAT walk! Dragged 4 kids along who managed the walk we did from ‘The Pass’ to the lighthouse and back. Many steps. Steep gradients. Lots of chairs and rest stop areas along the way. Very glad we did it if only this section. Saw lizards, koalas, and whales!!!!!!!!

We walked the Cape Byron Walking track circuit, starting at the Palm Valley carpark. The track up to the most easterly point and the lighthouse hugs the coastline. The track is fully paved and concreted up to the Lighthouse, with steps and some steep inclines. There are many places to stop and catch your breath if needed. We experienced incredible views and we lost count of the amount of whales frolicking in the waters, near and a far. There is a small cafe at the top and toilets as well. On the way back we continued on to the Tallow Ridge track. This track is not paved and whilst the views are not out to the ocean, the rainforest is beautiful to walk through. There are stairs, as well as flat bush tracks. This part of the track could be a little slippery in the wet. A much quieter track and a beautiful walk. The Tallow Ridge track may be a little hard for smaller children due to the steepness of some of the stair heights.

We enjoyed the Cape Byron Walking Track. The views were stunning, and the path was well-kept and easy to follow. I stopped at a few lookouts and just soaked it all in. A great spot for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy some amazing ocean scenery.

A beautiful sea view walk. Make sure you look out for the dolphins or whales that I believe swim around the bays. I saw some cool wildlife and the views from the lighthouse are beautiful. It’s a bit of a difficult walk and contains some steep stairs but worth it if you can manage.

For those new to the area, pay no attention to the "Open/Closed" indicator within Google Maps for this location!! It's simply a very nice and well maintained coastal track with great views and without entrance gates -- so it's always open! It even has a very nice (unexpected) cafe along the track called "The Pass Cafe"!

Nice little cafe with a good cuppa. We had a ham cheese tomato croissant that was quite good and a carrot cake that was pretty tasty. Now what makes this place special is quite obviously the view. One of the most iconic views in Australia. Beautiful. You have to be quite lucky to get parking g but it is available. Very nice that they have the tables outside to enjoy the view. Nice touch.

The views from this lighthouse are definitely worth the 8 dollars we paid for parking. You get a full 360° of amazing scenery and there is a lovely little hill walk too. The coffee shop is delightful too! They do fresh gelato ice cream which is exactly what you need to cool down after the walk.

Absolutely beautiful! The food was delicious and the coffee was AMAZING. seriously the best coffee in Byron bay and such a reasonable price. The manager Sian and her sister are absolutely beautiful and so kind. Love that they are a family ran business and locals! Their sister cafe is also The Pass Cafe which I can not wait to try. 1000/10 the best cafe!

The redeeming feature of this cafe is the spectacular views! The coffee, latte and scone were mediocre. The staff were friendly and the service was prompt. The car park attendant was quite rude and officious. It would be good for the frontline person to be friendly and welcoming.

Walked up with my water bottle, immediately told to go outside to fill it up which is fine but one of the ladies working, I could not understand what she was saying and she was pointing around the corner (the water fountain was straight ahead). Then I finally realised where she meant and heard the other lady say “open your eyes” and they both laughed….. SORRY but I could’ve found it quicker if your coworker wasn’t babbling while speaking and had just given me clear direction. Got annoyed at me when it was her coworkers fault that I started to go the wrong way. I work in hospitality I know how frustrating it can get especially when a customer can’t find something but I’d never say something rude like that out loud in front of them. So rude! Also I was planning on grabbing something to eat but nevermind! Maybe next time you go to talk poorly about or to a customer keep your voice down😁

Popped in for a quick snack and beverage when viewing the lighthouse. Surprisingly…. Wasn’t expensive, had great food and the view is just sensational! Strong recommend from me!!!

Sensational views. Chance of spotting dolphins and whales. Sunrise is a must. Moderate walk up there. Not really much parking available (cost involved) so most people walk or ride half way. Nice little cafe for coffee and iceream althought staff a little rude. Free entry to actually go up and have a look from top of the lighthouse by volunteer guides.

Stopped here for a break on our way back to Sydney. There's so much to do here for all ages, you could spend the whole day here! It's one giant fun park! The souvenir shop is packed with all sorts of goodies ranging from hats, soft toys, cups, pens, stickers, key rings, fridge magnets, t-shirts, stationary items, tea towels etc. Cafe has a good variety of hot and cold food, drinks, milkshakes, and snacks. Plenty of parking.

An entire day well spent last wk. Bought the Ultimate Pass for the family online. Rocked up before ticket box/activities opened to get a good car park. Thankfully, NSW school holidays hadn't yet started so wasn't too busy. Took the entire day to be able to experience all activities included in the Ultimate Pass, including saving the Arcade Room till after 4pm when all other areas had closed. Only downers were: 1 the expensive meals, 2 the Toboggan wasn't open, and 3 the ice skates were too narrow. Even after going up a size, had to regularly sit down and take the weight off. Will need to return when the Toboggan opens.

We had an awesome day at The Big Banana Fun Park – fantastic facilities, plenty of fun, and most of the staff were absolutely wonderful! Unfortunately, our experience was dampened by an encounter with the café manager, Tanya. I have a coconut allergy, and I could clearly detect traces of coconut (likely from cross-contamination with previous flavours). Rather than showing any concern, understanding, or basic duty of care, Tanya was immediately hostile, dismissive, and completely unwilling to help. She refused to offer a replacement, refund, or even acknowledge the potential seriousness of the situation, and her attitude was both unprofessional and unacceptable, especially for someone in a managerial position. As former café owners, we know exactly what good customer service looks like and this was the complete opposite. In any hospitality setting, especially when it comes to allergies, empathy and responsibility are non-negotiable. Thankfully, duty manager James went above and beyond to resolve the situation. He handled everything with professionalism, ensured we were looked after, and even gave my little one a bag of bananas for the long trip home to Brisbane - such a thoughtful gesture! It’s thanks to the rest of the fantastic team members and James’ outstanding service that this review is 4 stars instead of 1. They truly turned a negative situation into a positive experience, and we’re incredibly grateful for their care and professionalism. 👏🍌

Timed season / play time can we , depending on numbers, well worth it or a little disappointing. Wait times for a slide can exceed 30min or so. Given 2 hours, 2 - 4 slides can be a maximum. But for smaller kids or kids who enjoy the splash area, 2 hours for the price is well worth it. There is a lot to do overall at the big banana if you have the time and the funds. But it is definitely worth visiting If your not willing to wait a while, or pay the price for meals, its easily enough to bring your own.

This is a perfect fun park for the family with kids, as parents can join with them and have fun. I saw the kids really enjoying all the rides . However, if you are solo, or young couple without kids you guys may feel boredom as there is nothing to make your adrenaline rushing. Adults, they surely enjoy the self guided tour through the banana plantations. Staff are really courteous, good accessibility from highway, ample parking facilities are really good.

If you are visiting Coffs harbour and travelling with kids... this is where you want to be! There is a plethora of fun activities and games especially for the kids here. Of course, if you are enthusiastic about banana trees/plantation etc then there's plenty here for adults too. We stopped by here for a short visit during our road trip from QLD to Melbourne. It was amazing to see the kids enjoying themselves especially in the gaming arcade area. Souvenir shop, cafe and clean wash rooms are also available here along with plenty of free parking.

My Wife and myself visited the Banana Plantation here was a self guided tour that took about 30 minutes, where you see all the banana plants and learn about the history here at the big banana. Enjoyed our tour here and definitely recommend the visit great to learn about the history of the big banana. Family friendly place to visit too.

A must do in Coffs Harbour, we love this place. Still looks the same as when I brought my kids 15 yrs ago & very reasonable entrance fee which all goes to looking after these wonderful sea personalities. We chose to go on a very rainy day & had the park almost to ourselves but hence got very wet. The staff are so passionate & caring for the marine & do alot of rescue on the East Coast. All talks were very insightful, such a fantastic opportunity for us all to fall in love even more with our marine creatures.

Loved learning more about the turtle rehabilitation. The dolphin show was beautiful but miss the seal show that they use to have. The penguins were so cute! Great work Wildlife Sanctuary. We never tire from visiting!

Absolutely fantastic experience and an absolute fantastic reason why they operate. What they do is so crucial for marine wildlife. All money is worth going to experience this non for profit organisation.

What a great find! It's a small-ish venue - you can see everything in a under two hours - but being small allows it to be much more intimate. You're closer to the animals, and the close encounter experiences are amazing. We saw another family doing the penguin encounter, and we did the dolphin encounters. One note - they charge extra for photos (which given the prices seems exorbitant), so make sure to take your own

We had a great day. It’s a small place with lots of great shows for a half day. Staff were lovely and everyone gets a turn. We fed, played and pat the dolphins and they are so close and really engaging. My kids teenagers loved this as much as I did 30 years ago. Highly recommended.

Coffs Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary is a beautiful animal sanctuary. The ticket is very reasonable for the experience, and knowing it’s a non-profit makes it even more special. The dolphin show was awesome—they were playful and cheeky, moving eagerly from their lagoon to the performance pool, clearly excited to show off their talents. The staff are passionate and caring, and every visit supports the sanctuary’s important work protecting these amazing animals.

I had no idea about the history behind this gaol and how interesting it was. It is a beautiful location with stunning views and some resident kangaroos! If you are lucky and there at the right time you may even see whales! Well worth a visit!

What an extraordinary place. Trial Bay Gaol took my breath away. The view alone is worth the visit… the bluest ocean stretching endlessly beneath you, wrapped in fresh sea air that feels like a gift. 🌊✨ There’s a kind of energy here that’s hard to explain…. the kind you’d love to bottle up and keep forever. The architecture, the history, the wild beauty surrounding it… it all weaves together to create something truly special. I honestly don’t know why this place isn’t more well known, but I’m so grateful I got to experience it. It’s one of those rare places that lingers with you long after you leave.

11 dollars entry, which I thought was very reasonable. You have the opportunity to have a look in the small museum at the entry. Then you can walk around the goal at your own pace. Make your way up the watchtower for awesome views. The cells are open to walk inside as well as the quiet cells.

Stunning, old ruins kept in pristine condition. Very much worth the modest entry price. Views forever. An interesting part of Australias history. Don't miss the museum!

Fun couple of hours if you are visiting South West Rocks. The Gail has a rich convict history as well as being used as an internment camp for Germans during the First World War. Great views of the bay from the top of the guard house. Watch the short film before you go in, for a brief history of the gaol.

one of the best highlights for a road trip! An awesome place to visit with a fascinating historical background. The site offers a pretty cool experience and is definitely worth a stop if you’re exploring the area.

We visited the historic gaol site for a while however it was so windy that it was hard to walk, 80 km gusts driving huge waves on the ocean. The stone walls built by convicts are still standing strong but there are few roofs left. The display panels tell a lot of stories of the prison system of the time and of the time when German prisoners were interned in WW1 as enemy aliens The site is well worth visiting

The Koala Hospital is currently operating from Guulabaa on Burrawan Forest Drive while they redevelop the site in town. It is such a great facility and so wonderful to see the koalas up in their trees. Great picnic spot outside.

Such a wonderful experience! The family enjoyed it. Good to see we have hospitals for these beautiful animals. They even have a store with cute items to buy. They also have a heritage onsite with cafe with memorabilia. Highly recommended!

What a wonderful place for rescued Koalas. When you visit in the morning when the Koalas get food they are awake. Since September 2024 the hospital needs to charge an entry fee because people weren’t donating enough. An adult pays 12,50$ to treat the sick Koalas. We loved the visit and only met very kind volunteers.

An amazing experience! We gained fascinating insights into the organization’s work at the Koala Hospital. The dedicated volunteers were incredibly knowledgeable and happy to answer all our questions. We were lucky to spot a few koalas, but it’s clear that the focus here is not on showcasing the animals for tourism but on their protection and care—huge respect for that! The hospital will be closing soon, but there is a koala breeding center on the other side of the city, run by the same organization. We were encouraged to visit for more valuable insights. I highly recommend a visit—thank you for your incredible work, and keep it up!

We visited the hospital with the family on a thursday morning. The best option is to go early, as they get food in between 8.30 and 9.00. They also get food in the evening. We didn’t book a tour guide but Maz was around and gave alot of information. We could ask all and any questions about the koalas and their way of life. It’s great to support the hospital as they so take care of them with care. Would recommend a visit!

Such a beautiful place and a wonderful thing these guys are doing for our Koalas. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the koalas and learnt so much. My two boys had a great time

Good initiative! There really wasn’t that much to do here though for those who have seen koalas before and been to other conservation parks. There were 5 koalas to see and a sign of how they were found. All up 10 min visit.

Beautiful rainforest walk, very well designed and about a bit more than 1 km long. We didn’t see many animals, but the nature and atmosphere made it a lovely experience. After the walk, we stopped at the café which was excellent – great food and drinks! We had a cappuccino and bacon with eggs, both super tasty and freshly made. Definitely worth a visit for a peaceful walk and a relaxing coffee break

Lovely staff, all super friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend to spend some time at the bar and immerse yourself while grabbing a bite/drink. There are several tour options, although you can also purchase the boardwalk alone. In July there are some aboriginal tours going on - photo enclosed. They also sell plants if you want to bring a vivid memory back home and grow it fondly 🌱 Recommended!

Place itself was great. Cute gift-shop, a lot of things to choose from. We saw a few families really enjoying their time there, so perfect with kids. Since we have traveled a lot, it’s not a must see view. Good, but not a must see place.

Fantastic Rainforest tree walk on a walkway through the forest with interesting information along the way about the various trees and plants and their uses. We were lucky enough to see a goanna. Great information centre and souvenirs, Cafe was excellent. Definitely worth a visit.

We visited Sea Acres Rainforest centre and did the board walk today and it was magical! We were told at reception where we would see a Powerful Owl, and then spotted it perched on a tree branch which was amazing to see, definitely would not have seen this if we weren’t for the help! The walk is beautiful at every point and the trees were breathtaking! We also met Graham, who is a volunteer at the centre, and asked us if we had any questions about the place, we asked about the fig trees and he had all the facts, we learnt so much! He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable so special thanks to Graham! I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Nice quiet board walk to be enjoyed whilst taking in the vast rainforest. We were lucky to see an Owl chick. Friendly and helpful staff.
