Well it’s a good park but it’s is NOT maintained at all! It’s not even funny how destroyed this trail is… My friend nearly broke his ribs and arms on this because the berm was not maintained. Honestly someone go fix that thing!

A very popular addition to the biking landscape in Wollongong's northern suburbs. Only very limited street parking available. No parking in church carpark across the road unless you want your car towed.

Visiting from Brisbane. Saw this on the maps and checked it out with the kid. Track is run down. Nothing like the pictures.

Museums
Planetarium
Science Space is a museum with an extensive collection of interactive exhibits and a planetarium show. It offers a unique experience for the whole family, allowing them to engage in hands-on activities while learning about science. The museum also has a gift shop and café for visitors to enjoy. The exhibits cater to both children and adults alike, making it an excellent destination for all ages. A highlight of the visit includes watching the solar space show, which promises not to disappoint those looking for more insight into our universe.
Really fun and unique experience both for young and young at heart. We really enjoyed the activities. My 2 year old was so happy to do all the fun science activities.
Jericho — Google review
This place still has the exact same equipment and activities that were being used when I was a child more than 2 decades ago! 😣 Many of them were not working during our visit, which was unfortunate, but not the end of the world. What was important was that the little one enjoyed themselves, which they definitely did. Enormous amount of things in the gift shop, but ridiculously overpriced. $15 for a basic mug? No thanks!
Nicholas D — Google review
It has a lot of cool gadgets for us to do hands-on experience o science theorties. They have different exhibitions inside too, for that we need to take separate tickets and they are much focused on school children.
Pasindu R — Google review
The museum is amazing and my 4 year old loved it. Wish it was open more hours outside of school holidays for us to visit. The range of things inside to play with was fantastic. They do need help from a parent to read most of the instructions though otherwise they just hit buttons and move on. There was also free play options and badge making which was really cool. And the planetarium show was really good and only $4 each which is very reasonable. Parking was also free. The one thing that would've been good is more science shows. For example in NEMO in Amsterdam they do a "chain reaction" show which includes kids and ends with a rocket being shot up high. There are endless possibilities for interactive science shows that would be fun to include in this space and would make each visit more unique. Definitely take your own food. The biggest downside was the small kiosk cafe didn't open until almost 12:30pm which meant the only food in the venue was vending machines full of junk food or a 5 minute walk down the road to a nearby cafe. Most kids I saw who hadn't brought lunch were just eating junk food from the vending machines as that's all there was. There are no good options for kids with food allergies in the cafe as all equipment is shared and vending machines also serve snacks with peanuts and other nuts as well. The positive is food isn't supposed to be consumed inside so it's only outdoors where they eat. The food at the cafe was ok for a convenient snack for people without allergies but the hours still not ideal. There is limited play equipment outside so the problem was our kids just wanted to run back inside after eating which makes it hard for parents to sit and eat. The most exciting thing outside for kids is the vending machine which our kids focused on and kept begging for treats from. At the UOW discovery centre they have an outdoor play area so it's easy to stay outside as there's stuff for kids to do. I think there is a missed opportunity at this venue to have water-based science exhibits or something else which is outdoor like solar windmills for example that would have been a nice addition and would make being outside more fun.
Liz W — Google review
A great interactive place to take the kids for a day out. Lots to do and see and it’s all hands on. Theres a good chance that they will unconsciously learn by exploring the different stations/exhibits which is covered in the cost of the entry fee. For an additional cost there’s also the planetarium theatre which has different shows on and also the interactive science talks in the Science theatre. A gift shop will also grab their attention on the way out. Parking is free on weekends and they’re open 10-4 every day. Over all the cost is minimal and the kids get to run amok and enjoy themselves.
SARGES’ F — Google review
Science Space at the University of Wollongong is an absolute gem for anyone curious about science and technology. From the moment you step in, the hands-on exhibits make learning fun and engaging for all ages. The DIGISTAR 6 planetarium is incredible—immersive, visually stunning, and perfect for exploring the universe. The centre also offers exciting workshops, live science shows, and the Energy Futures Zone, which is perfect for learning about sustainable energy in a fun way. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, making every visit smooth and enjoyable. Whether you’re visiting with kids, friends, or even on your own, Science Space provides an educational, entertaining, and inspiring experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore science in a creative and interactive way!
Anonymous P — Google review
Bit of a poor man's Questacon, but enjoyable for adults as much as the kids. The equipment is old and dusty and not very inviting to touch, particularly because we only saw one anti bacterial dispenser in the whole centre. Some general maintenance to stations wouldn't hurt as everything looks old and tired. The information sheets on each station were very heavy on writing, which isnt ideal for kids and printed in small text on dark background making it very hard to read (and completely useless in the low lit rooms!) It wasnt clear where the cafe was, was it onsite? We didnt bother trying to find it. Good use of "play space" for younger kids. We particularly enjoyed the magnetic tiles. More activities for toddlers would be good such as colouring or building blocks. Free carpark at weekends was a plus. Worth a stop if youre in the area, but would have been disappointed if I'd travelled from Sydney for this.

Really fun experience for my 3 year old She loved how interactive the place was. Reminds me of a tiny version of questacon

The Wollongong Head lighthouse, also known as Flagstaff Point Lighthouse, was built with reinforced concrete in 1936 and still remains operational. The area surrounding the lighthouse is well-maintained and offers stunning views of the coast. Cove Beach, located nearby, is a family-friendly destination while North Wollongong Beach attracts both families and surfers due to its vastness.
The Flagstaff Point Lighthouse in Wollongong is a stunning coastal attraction that perfectly blends history and natural beauty. Perched atop the cliffs, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, with its unique blue and green hues, and the surrounding coastline. The white lighthouse, standing tall against the vibrant blue skies, is a photographer’s dream. It’s a great spot to relax, enjoy the fresh sea breeze, and watch ships pass by. Ample parking, nearby cafes, and well-maintained paths make it easily accessible. A must-visit for those seeking tranquility and scenic beauty in Wollongong!

Miki J — Google review
A great spot to chill out or walk around, as many other people do. A picturesque viewpoint from all angles - taking in the ocean views at the fore or, should one turn around, the sun setting on the mountain behind. A truly magnificent space indeed.

Flagstaff Point Lighthouse, also known as Wollongong Head Lighthouse, is a scenic spot to stop while exploring Wollongong’s coastline. It offers fantastic views over the ocean and Wollongong Harbour, making it a popular place for photography and a relaxing stroll. There is plenty of free parking nearby, which makes it easy to access even with larger vehicles during the day. However, overnight parking is not allowed, so it’s best enjoyed as a short visit. For those interested in local heritage, the site also has a bit of history about the lighthouse to learn from plaques and displays. Combined with the fresh sea breeze, it’s an enjoyable and educational stop.
Kanok C — Google review
Stunning and breath taking views from the Wollongong Lighthouse. If you're capable, the walk from the city centre is manageable and on a picture perfect morning really invigorating. Plenty of opportunity to take some outstanding photos and learn further about the history of the area.

Có biển, chim,… không gian quá đẹp. Tháng 5/2025 trời nắng, gió lùa lành lạnh, cảm giác rất thích. The scene was breathtaking — the sea stretched endlessly under the golden sunlight, birds soared gracefully across the sky, and the entire space felt like a serene painting. In May 2025, the weather was bright and clear. A gentle breeze carried a cool touch, bringing a delightful chill that made the whole experience even more refreshing and unforgettable.
Kiên N — Google review
Good spot to watch sunset/sunrise in Wollongong. From beach its easier to walk and reach lighthouse. Plenty of parking available. You can park anywhere and start walking to the lighhouse.
Zoaib — Google review
We went there on weekday, so parking was really easy to find. Our favourite icecream van was there and we loved nice sunny weather. But it gets really windy, loved the views of open ocean and nice green grass around the area. Must visit.

What a great place! In the middle of suburbia, it still manages to stay quiet and tranquil. The nature wellness trail is a great idea. I especially loved the Sculpture In The Garden exhibition this year (2025). Thank you for allowing this in your space 😍

Easy parking and pleasant gardens. It was quiet and provided varied walking options. Personally loved sir joseph banks glass houses, a lovely hidden treasure. Lovely places to sit and reflect or eat a picnic. Flat paths are perfect for wheelchairs and prams etc. Toilets are clean.

A quiet, relaxing place for a walk or meditation. Their plant collections are massive. I especially liked the Greenhouse that houses their succulents and the tropical plants where you could feel the controlled environment for the plants. I also loved the Rose Garden

It's a huge garden and tidy. Overall the garden is outstanding, the walk path is good, the garden is clean. Maybe the minuses are in toilet comforts and some facilities are not working like the front fountain and the water inside the pool is dirty.

Great place for a short walk or a quiet picnic. It will be very hot in the summer so winter days more recommended. Its a bit of a drive from Sydney and thats why it doesn’t get so busy. We saw many Kangaroos on the way out of the picnic area which is always a bonus.
Ameer M — Google review
Just a short drive away from Sydney, good destination for a part of a day trip. Absolutely beautiful views. Has a nearby picnic area with all the amenities such as gas BBQ and toilets. Can drive up to the dam it self, so disabled access friendly as well.

Been coming to this place with family for well over 30years. All started as a young child with the oldies bringing me and my siblings here for a relaxing day trip away. Now we bring our kids here all these years later and nothing has changed. Still a great place to have a picnic and enjoy the serenity!

Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Temple

Mentioned on

Buddhist temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Nan Tien Temple is a vast Buddhist complex offering classes, retreats, lodging, and a museum. The temple features a unique haunted house with mechanized animatronic dioramas depicting scenes from Buddhist hell. While it was once used to scare children into obedience, today it's more of a quirky religious attraction than genuinely frightening. Visitors can access the temple by public transport from Sydney, although the bus schedule in the area can be challenging.
Highly recommend visiting Nan Tien Temple! The environment is super peaceful and relaxing 🥹🥹🥹 a perfect place to slow down, whether you’re religious or not🥰🥰 I’ve joined their calligraphy, meditation, retreat and had their vegetarian food! all amazing experiences.also I volunteered few time, the venerables there are incredibly kind and warm😭😭 they always willing to listen and offer gentle guidance. Honestly, they feel like family🥹 The volunteers are also super friendly and helpful🥰🥰🥰 It’s one of my favorite places in Sydney to recharge and find some inner peace!!!!!
Xu Y — Google review
Visited with our photography group and were genuinely impressed. Nan Tien Temple, located in Berkeley near Wollongong, is the largest Buddhist temple in the Southern Hemisphere—and you can feel the scale and serenity as soon as you step onto the grounds. Beautifully landscaped gardens, huge temple halls, an eight-storey pagoda, and sweeping views all contribute to a deeply peaceful atmosphere. Definitely set aside a few hours—there’s a lot to explore. A few tips: • No photography is allowed inside the shrines, ever. This isn’t clearly mentioned on the website, so best to know ahead. • That said, there are loads of fantastic photo opportunities outside—gardens, architecture, statues, and pagodas. It’s a dream for outdoor photography. • Shoes are allowed inside the main temple building, which is unusual compared to many other countries where it’s strictly no shoes. • Plenty of parking, and a small café on-site for snacks or tea. We’re planning to go back in spring when the gardens are in full bloom—it’ll be even more photogenic.
John F — Google review
Amazing place to visit. Stunning buildings with ornate decoration. A lot of information about their belief, their way of life and culture. Even the vegetarian food at restaurant is so good.
Peter S — Google review
"A truly peaceful and relaxing retreat, Nan Tien Temple is a must-visit. The grounds are beautifully maintained and offer a serene escape from the city hustle. I highly recommend spending time simply walking the expansive area—it's incredibly calming. Also, you absolutely must try the Tea House as well.
Nay H — Google review
It’s great spot for recreational and pilgrimage. It’s so tranquil and relaxing during our visits. The staff are very friendly and helpful to answer dharma questions. The vegetarian foods are very fresh and delicious 🤤 will call again definitely!
Michael C — Google review
The Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Temple in Wollongong is one of the most breathtaking cultural and spiritual landmarks in Australia. Known as the largest Buddhist temple in the Southern Hemisphere, it immediately impresses with its beautiful design and Chinese-inspired architecture. From the moment you arrive, the sweeping roofs, ornate gateways, and intricate detailing transport you into a space that feels both majestic and serene. ✨ Architecture & Atmosphere The temple’s architecture draws heavily from traditional Chinese Buddhist styles, with curved tiled roofs, carved timberwork, and statues that embody harmony and balance. Its grand halls, pagodas, and courtyards are laid out with careful symmetry, creating an atmosphere of calm and reverence. Every corner feels purposeful, designed to invite reflection and peace. 🌿 Green, Spacious & Healing What makes Nan Tien Temple especially captivating is its spacious, green surroundings. Set against rolling hills, the temple grounds are filled with manicured gardens, flowering plants, and tranquil pathways. The air feels lighter here, and the landscape offers a natural sense of healing. Whether you’re walking past lotus ponds, sitting under trees, or admiring flower beds in bloom, the environment encourages mindfulness and rest. 🕊️ A Place for Renewal Beyond its physical beauty, Nan Tien Temple is an amazing place for healing and reflection. Many visitors describe the experience as uplifting, whether they attend a meditation session, explore the art and cultural exhibits, or simply sit quietly in the courtyards. The combination of sacred architecture, natural beauty, and peaceful energy makes it a sanctuary for anyone seeking calm and renewal. ⸻ ✅ In short: Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Temple in Wollongong is a stunning blend of Chinese-inspired architecture and natural serenity. With its spacious gardens, flowering landscapes, and healing atmosphere, it’s more than just a temple—it’s a place to pause, breathe, and reconnect with peace.

Jamberoo Action Park is a thrilling water park nestled in the picturesque countryside, just a scenic 40km drive from Gerringong. The park features an array of attractions including wave pools, slides, mini-golf, and chairlift rides. Visitors can experience the excitement of giant water slides and Surf Hill's eight-lane speed slide. With options ranging from high-thrill rides to more mild ones for kids, this park caters to all age groups.
We had a great time at Jamberoo we went mid March and there were no queues. Super family friendly great variety of rides, really loved the wave pool & beach. there were lots of lounges to sit on, Chairs and tables and Easy signage as well so you know what to do and where to go. Will definitely be back!

Absolutely fantastic day, whoever invented the Huts/Cabins - deserves a award.. The train ride to your destinations is also a great idea. Our three kids haven’t experienced something like this before, they want me to buy land next door and then buy a season pass.. it was a excellent day Thank you to all the employees, who were very helpful, especially the lovely lady’s who were very helpful in the surf shack
Tony M — Google review
Jamberoo water park is an amazing spot on a hot day to go with friends or family- the hot day that I went was perfect because it was nice and busy, but when you get to the entrance on the slide or activity there was no people on almost all of the slides, so you can do it as many times as you want in a short time. The water park had so many different things to do including a 5 metre rock jump, mini golf, and obviously lots of rides. It only took about 3 mins to buy tickets on site and then a small walk to the first thing- everything is very accessible from anywhere in the place and it is the perfect spot if you're looking for an action packed day.
Arthur S — Google review
It was a truly wonderful experience. The car journey to the park, winding through the bushes and offering ocean views, was quite amazing. The water park itself met our expectations, and we had a great deal of fun. The weather was ideal, neither too hot nor too cold. There weren't many people, which allowed us to enjoy all the rides without lengthy waits. The rides were enjoyable and suitable for all ages, which meant our family could experience almost all of them together. However, we were unable to locate a changing room, which was a minor disappointment. Nevertheless, it was a pleasure to be there with the family and have such an amazing experience.

My 5 year old son and I had a great time. The staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of rides for all ages. This place is a full water theme park and we loved it. Nothing was too over priced either which is great after paying the entry fee. Lockers are conveniently located throughout the park and so are the toilets. We arrived just after 10am on a Sunday in school holidays and were in the gates within about 5 minutes

The park offers a great variety of rides and attractions for all ages, from thrilling water slides to relaxing wave pools. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the facilities were well-maintained. We spent the whole day there, from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and the kids couldn’t stop smiling—they had an absolute blast! I have stayed 3 times recently in a 2 bedroom cabin. Cleaning is inconsistent The last of my 2 stays (in November and December) were in the same cabin (#10). When I left in November both managers were in the office. I advised that behind the bedside tables in the second room were lollies and food wrappers left by a previous guest. They expressed concern, apologised and promised to have the cleaners attend. When i recently stayed in December I checked behind the cupboards and the SAME refuse was there! I complained on checkout to the casual attendant and advised of my previous complaint. The management is very strict about clients leaving a place clean and tidy so it is incongruous that not only is their cleaning inconsistent but they did not follow through after receiving a complaint. A previous review complained about cockroaches. Maybe this is why. It could also attract mice. The attendant made notes in the computer and a diary and assured me that management would call me the next day. It's been 3 months and I have never been contacted. I checked out a day early. I wasn't asked if I was leaving because the service was unsatisfactory.

This is a lovely spot. Not a caravan park, but approx 22 full size cabins 1 and 2 b/r. right on the headland, 1 minute walk to Blowhole. I had a 1 b/r. It's big! Nothing like a caravan park cabin. About 1 min drive or 10 min walk to town. Cabins are big, air-conditioned, fans, with full kitchen, utensils, bedding. Stayed with a group of friends so saw a number of cabins. All are a little different. Some have dishwashers, some have bigger balconies, most have a nice view of the water. All have a barbecue on the deck. Bathrooms are modern, with spa bath. Price is competitive especially compared to a hotel room. Not serviced daily, reception is open until 4pm only. But overall, for me, it was a much better option than a studio room in a 4 star+ hotel.

Not a guest, just visiting the blowhole spot as a regular visitor. But having a flat tyre issue and the owner and his son or worker was very helpful to help us sort out the situation🥹 Im not sure if they are the owners or just a regular visitor as well but Ill leave this comments as appreciation of the help. Made our day so easy.

Kiama Lighthouse, also known as Kiama Light or Kiama Harbour Light, is a historic and iconic landmark on the NSW South Coast. Situated at over 136 meters above sea level, this active lighthouse was built in the 1880s and offers more than just its picturesque views. It houses a museum and tourist information center, making it an essential stop for visitors to the area.
Beautiful blue sky with the white clouds, awesome! If you're lucky you may see the amazing blowhole. Good luck! 😁

We stopped here here on our way from Sydney to Canberra and the views were stunning. Plenty of parking, and easy to get to. The blow hole was really pumping with the winds and surf. If you're close by definitely try and make the stop.
Chris A — Google review
This place is a hit or miss. You can either be here on a nice day and enjoy the view. Or you can be here on a day where it gets so windy, that if you open your car door it can fling open. It’s a beautiful place and the blowhole is pretty cool. You can walk further down closer to the water. Overall it’s a beautiful place. Would recommend.

This was a beautiful spot to stop and explore. We drove in from Sydney. I wish we left sooner because there was so much along the way to see, rainforest, breathtaking scenic ocean views, wildlife. While here, the kids explored around in the rocks. My dad and I took the walk from the scenic park area over to see the blow hole. I encourage you to time this right, we didn’t see the blow hole as impressive as it could have been, we didn’t see some action but not much, we went later on the day. Be sure to check the tide! Lots to do around this area, lots of shops, walking, picnic benches to enjoy a meal or snack. So beautiful

This lighthouse is a popular place for locals and tourists. No entry fees. Great views of the sea and hinterland from here. Plenty of parking with generous time limits. When we were there, we sighted several whales on their migration to Antarctica.

For anyone visiting the South Coast around Wollongong and Kiama, the Kiama Lighthouse and Blowhole are must-see attractions. The lighthouse, built in 1887, stands proudly on the headland and offers sweeping views over the coastline and town. Just beside it lies the famous Kiama Blowhole, where, on the right tide and with strong winds, the ocean swells surge through the rock cavity and shoot spectacular jets of water high into the air. On a particularly windy day, the spray can reach visitors standing on the lookout — be prepared to get a little wet!
Kanok C — Google review
Beautiful and peaceful spot with amazing ocean views! The lighthouse is right next to the famous blowhole, which can spray water really high when the tide is right. Great place for photos, a nice walk, and just relaxing by the sea. Easy parking and open 24 hours - perfect for sunrise or sunset visits

Kiama Lighthouse Review (Short) Kiama Lighthouse is a charming coastal landmark perched above the famous Blowhole Point in Kiama, NSW. The views of the ocean and rugged cliffs are breathtaking, especially at sunrise or sunset. It’s an easy spot to visit with good parking and nearby cafes, making it perfect for a quick stop or a peaceful walk. Although the lighthouse itself isn’t open to the public, the scenery alone makes it worth the visit. A must-see when exploring the South Coast!

Corbett Gardens is a charming urban park located in Bowral, offering a delightful escape into a floral wonderland. Established in 1911, this public garden boasts vibrant seasonal flower displays, manicured lawns, and picturesque pathways for visitors to wander through and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. The highlight of the garden is the annual Tulip Time Festival held from mid-September to early October, featuring over 90,000 tulips and other colorful annuals in full bloom.
We came for the tulip fare. Fantastic display of flowers. Was $20 entry per adult but it all goes to the community. Also had several pop up businesses and food trucks. Was a lo ely time but 90 mins was more than enough to get around
Tony M — Google review
Located at Wingecarribee Street, Bowral, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 This is the location for the famous Tulip Festival that is held annually in in September. Thousands of people come every year, it’s a massive draw for Bowral. It’s approximately a two hour drive from Sydney and makes for a great day. The Tulips 🌷 are always beautiful and it’s lovely to wander through the displays. There’s always some food stalls and also other stalls selling locally arts and other products. Can be a little pricey. Seating is very limited as it’s so popular and the seats can be taken very fast. Toilet 🚻 facilities are not the best, they are port-a-loo’s mainly and these get dirty very fast. There is very limited accessible toilets available. Parking 🅿️ as you imagine is extremely limited, first come, first serve basis and fills up very fast. It’s a ticketed event during the festival and probably better to buy tickets online. Adults $18.50 Youths (13-17 years) $12.50 Concession $12.50 Children (Under 12) Free It’s a great kids/family event and wheelchair 🦼 accessible. It’s wonderful to see both during the night and during the day and there’s always live performances of some type during the festival. Would definitely recommend visiting the festival at least once. Thumbs up!!! 👍👍👍

Corbett Garden is absolutely beautiful—every corner is filled with vibrant colors, perfect landscaping, and such a peaceful vibe. Everything felt well-organised, and the entry price of $18.90 is very reasonable for the experience. The only downside is that even at 10am on a weekend, the park was already very crowded, which made it hard to fully enjoy the calm atmosphere. I’d recommend visiting on a weekday if possible to avoid the rush. Overall, a wonderful place to soak in nature’s beauty—definitely worth a visit! 🌸🌼
Neha S — Google review
We visited the gardens during the waning days of Tulip Time Flower Festival 2025. The mistake of visiting on a (long) weekend means there are as many people as flowers. The trick, if not in a hurry to leave Bowral, is to exit with a reenter stamp on the back of your hand, and come back later on in the afternoon. Obviously this strategy involves driving back to Sydney (assuming that's where you are from) in the dark so it's not for everyone. The other issue with visiting near end of the festival is that the tulips are no longer fresh. But they are still colourful and lovely. With a sea of them in the background, everywhere you turn to is a Kodak moment. I'll not waste my words on them. See my photos. While tulips are the stars here, the other plants and flowers also worth their own spotlight. Most of them would be permanent residemts here and some of the trees have amazing background stories. Many sculptures are also stationed around the gardens, not sure if they are all permanent installations. There are also small water features of which would be quite romantic on a quiet day. The event organisers did quite well with planning and maintenance. Well it's crowded most of the day, the flow is in a good pace. There are stalls for food, beverages and local products. Essential facilities are provided. A first aid station is manned ina quiet corner of the park. An good experience, might visit again in the future earlier in the festival when the tulips are young.

Corbett Gardens is a beautiful and peaceful park, best known for its stunning tulip displays during the Tulip Time Festival. Every year, the gardens come alive with bright colors and thousands of tulips, attracting many visitors from near and far. It’s a wonderful place to walk around, take photos, and enjoy the fresh air. The atmosphere during tulip season is festive, with live music, food stalls, and plenty of activities for families. Even outside the festival, Corbett Gardens is a relaxing spot to visit, with well-kept lawns and lovely flowers. It is definitely a must-see destination in Bowral, especially if you love nature and seasonal celebrations.”

It was a small area but the tulips were beautiful and the locals were all very nice and friendly. Local cafes were very good too but, be prepare to line up. Great shopping for vintage and antiques at Dirty Jane's.

Nice place to see beautiful flowers like Tulips and the 112 year-old giantitc Pine Cedar tree ever alive that I know. There are limited car parking though, with 1P and 2P limits, so the earlier you arrive the high chances of getting nearby spots. Also it's next to the shops Coles/Woolies - and restos - so you will never starve in case you didn't like the food being sold inside the gardens.

Pretty good place. Small but good. We went on the Tulip festival. The whole town is amazing. Ticket was $20 per adult which was a bit on the higher side, but makes sense.

Great experience for any cricket lovers, or indeed, those interested in the cultural evolution of Australia. Really enjoyed my visit, and was pleasantly surprised that the museum covers not only the great man but the game in a wider context. As one or two other reviewers have mentioned, the exhibits are not always lit as brightly as they might be, but this is a minor quibble. Additionally the museum shop is well stocked, and there is a bargain filled bookcase of second hand cricket books for sale. The adjacent Oval and its picturesque pavilion ( and Mary Poppins statue in the grounds) are other points of interest. A very enjoyable couple of hours.

A great antique store with plenty to explore. From antiques and vintage finds to newer items, there’s something for everyone. I did find the store a bit messy, and I wouldn’t recommend visiting on a hot summer day if you’re sensitive to the heat. On a positive note, there’s a little café inside with a lovely ambience.

So much enjoy seeing this seeing that and most cool stuff in here. If you want to buy any item, it's better to remember your zone or number code of the item before asking for help from staff cos more easy for everyone. Anyway some item you can grab and bring to cashier by yourself easy! :)

It's a fun place to walk around. On at least two separate occasions I've bought a surprise item I didn't know I needed or wanted. This time it was some lovely heavy cotton European made workmen shirts. Last time it was a newspaper page from 1918 bemoaning the anarchists in the army coming home armed. LOL.

Loved Dirty Jane's - have been meaning to go there for some time (it's location is the only thing that has kept me away so far - being more of a city-dweller - though it makes sense that it's out of town given the size of the premises!). It was fabulous - seriously something for everyone and I came away with a few really great pieces (though not what I actually went to buy!). Probably spent two or three hours there (and could definitely have stayed longer, but needed to get out before I started buying things I really didn't need! :) The staff were friendly and helpful and the coffee shop was also unexpectedly good with friendly and efficient service.

The Big Potato is an intriguing statue with an equally fascinating story behind it. However, the real gem is Robertson itself!🤎 Do yourself a favor and take a leisurely stroll around this charming village. While you're there, enjoy fantastic local shops and don't forget coffee with the greenest views at The Buzz✨️, a peaceful and delightful café located near the Big Potato. The combination of great coffee, stunning scenery, and a warm atmosphere makes it a must-visit spot. ✔️☕️You won’t regret it.

The most underrated big thing ever. Everyone should come to the big spud at least once in their lives. On par with the greats such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, The leaning tower of Pisa in Italy. Robertson has its very own gem in the big potato. Worth the drive you won’t be disappointed

Misty morning, but the Big POTATO has had a face lift. 30 years since Babe.
Sarah J — Google review
After driving past this thing many times, I have finally had the honor of visiting the Big Potato. Also known as the ''Big Poo'' by less reverent people, this imposing edifice was birthed in 1979 and transcends mortal comprehension. Gone are the days when intrepid travelers could pay homage to the potato gods within. Now the shrine is sealed up. This certainly excited the archeologist within me. Who or what resides within? What treasures are hoarded behind those walls? We may never know. The Big Potato is one of 150 or so oversized shrines dotted around our country and attracts many pilgrims each year. This thing should be heritage listed. I read that the Big Potato was for sale for a mere $920,000 making it a very sound investment. I urge you all to add this to your bucket list.

When I entered Berkelouw Book Barn in Berrima for a girls big day out, I felt like I had walked into a beautiful, magical world. I didn’t know where to start first. The staff are all helpful, the coffee and tart as wonderful, the shared vegan lunch was divine near a beautiful and warm fireplace. The menu catered for all types foodies. The books! I was so delighted to see such a variety of new and old. Such variety and interesting and diverse topics. When we could drag ourselves away from the books, we moved onto the winery and had one of the wine tastings by anther fireplace. So relaxing in beautiful surroundings. Great for time out with friends or quiet solitude for yourself or for large and small functions. There are also accomodation cottages if you want to stay longer. Highly recommend!

Beautiful premises, nice selection of books. RUDE STAFF. We asked the young lady at reception for the drinks menu, they didn’t have one. So I asked her what drinks she’d have available for kids, “hot chocolates and juices”, didn’t even elaborate, didn’t have any food either. We got our drinks and our 2yo got hungry so we gave her half the croissant we had in our bag, she wasn’t even sitting, and we sat outside. Older lady came bolting towards us as she took her first bite to remind us not to eat any of our own food. Can’t help thinking it’s got something to do with us being Asian. We won’t be coming back and nor will any of our friends and family.

We had such a wonderful experience at The Book Barn during the Christmas break, and I couldn’t recommend it enough! It’s the perfect spot for brunch or lunch and is only a short drive from Sydney. On a spontaneous visit, we were lucky enough to get a table at midday, even though we didn’t have a reservation – but I’d highly recommend making one if you plan to visit. The place was almost fully booked, and we were fortunate to find a spot, and it wasn’t even a weekend – just a weekday! I ordered the fish, which was absolutely delicious, while my husband went for the crab linguine paired with the recommended wine. I opted out of the wine as I’m breastfeeding, but my husband loved it. The food was so good that I completely forgot to take any photos – a sure sign of how amazing it was! The service was impeccable, and the space was so lovely – a truly peaceful atmosphere. I enjoyed it so much that I’ve decided to celebrate my 40th birthday there in March. It’s definitely a place I’ll be returning to!

Since we were visiting from the US, my bestie in Sydney arranged an outing to Southern Highlands and made sure we stopped for lunch at her favorite place. It was a cozy cute cafe inside a bookstore and on the premise of a winery estate. We ordered the grazing board, roasted pumpkin pizza and salad. We invited our driver to join the 3 of us for lunch and glad we did since the portion was HUGE!! We were a bit skeptical initially about the wines here since we are spoilt from Napa & Sonoma in our backyard but we were pleasantly surprised after ordering a bottle of Bendooley Estate Rosé. Excellent selection of dining choice made by my friend!

We loved it, nice place to visit. Can have a wine with cheese platter, kids can have ice cream. Got bookshop, and restaurant inside with wine cellar and small shop. Certainly a recommendation to spend a few hours relaxing while drinking a rose. Price not to bad.

The book barn itself was lovely and in a beautiful location, really attentive staff, but the food let it down. We had two overcooked salmon, and my husband and I’s crab linguine had very little flavour, we were piling on salt and pepper to make it taste like something. Quite disappointing as it’s not cheap. Wine was lovely.

It's a perfect spot for nature enthusiasts, hikers, and photographers to capture stunning panoramic views of the landscape.
Absolutely stunning views from Saddleback Mountain Lookout! The drive up is scenic, with winding roads and beautiful countryside. The drive up to the mountain via saddleback mountain rd itself offers beautiful views. I think it’s one of the best scenic drives around. Once you reach the top, you can park your car and walk up to three different viewing platforms. The western view is partially obstructed because of trees. Walk up to the northern platform and it provides stunning views. The whole south coast upto Wollongong is laid out before you including lake Illawarra. Anyone know anything about these gate locks? I’m Curious how this works.

Belmore Falls

Scenic spot
Nature & Parks
Trail to a secluded waterfall with various lookouts & sandstone flora such as honey flower & wattle.
The fun police properly closed the trail as a result of two previous deaths not related to the actual trail down. The waterfall can still be viewed from multiple look outs. The trail down is no longer family friendly. The fence is 6 foot from the base of the posts, feels higher on the low side. It’s climb able for someone strong enough to do pull ups. The trail down is sketchy with building up leaf litter covering heavily eroded and loose trail. It’s very slippery both wet and dry. The trail starts with steep and uneven stairs then is lost to the weather. There’s 3 trails formed all marked with paint and tags. You will need to scramble and climb, impossible to simply walk it. There is no phone reception at the base of the falls. There is submerged car parts and trees in the pool.
Liam M — Google review
Quite an isolated place to go. We did manage to get to the lookout point and saw the falls itself. There is also a trail that can take you closer. But we came a little late in the day. So we didn't walk the trail. Update: Came again and walked along the short trail. You actually see a close up view of the Falls. The road is smooth until a certain point where it becomes a dirt track barely able to fit 2 cars. You need a tougher car than just a normal sedan type car. There is only a dug out toilet so be prepared.
Shally K — Google review
Although the day was a bit gray and drizzling the drive to the falls was still a pleasant one. On arrival the Falls were invisible with the mist. While we waited there was a small lightening of mist so we were able to get a glimpse of the Falls and the scale is pretty impressive. A few steps to navigate but on a clear day it would be spectacular.

Went to Belmore Boys with a few close friends and had a great time, though it started off a bit tricky—we had a hard time finding the entry point. Luckily, one of our friends had watched a video beforehand that helped us figure out where to start the hike. The hike itself is short but downhill and a bit challenging since there’s no proper trail—so wear good shoes and be cautious. That said, once you reach the bottom, the view is absolutely spectacular and totally worth the effort. We hadn’t planned for water activities, but it turned out to be a great spot to dip in and just enjoy time in nature. Highly recommend for a spontaneous adventure—just make sure to come prepared!

Historical landmark
Hampden Bridge, located in Kangaroo Valley, Australia, is a 19th-century wooden suspension bridge with unique gothic Victorian sandstone towers that give it the appearance of a medieval castle entrance. It is the last surviving wooden suspension bridge in Australia and offers visitors the chance to admire its beautiful architecture. The surrounding area features lush landscapes and heritage buildings, making it an enchanting place to explore.
Now this is a bridge I haven't seen since I was a kid and obligatory school hols road trip. Hampden bridge is both a piece of history (opened in 1898) and also an important single lane bridge on Moss Vale road in Kangaroo Valley. If you are in the area, pull over and check this piece of history for yourself.

Nice place for a quick stopover by the side of water and scenic views. If you would like to do quaking you can hire and go for an adventure.

An architectural piece thats lasted decades (hopefully forever). Holds lots of history and is sturdy, and right next to it is a kayak and camping ground rental place. Perfect for spring/summer adventures.

Probably the highlight ( in terms of looks) of the town. Make it seem historic. It’s a small bridge. But looks cool. If around check it out.

Marvellous piece of architectural and engineering history worth stopping for a look and a short walk along the river to the lookouts.

Kangaroo Valley is a true gem! Its serene natural beauty, lush greenery, stunning escarpments, and tranquil rivers make it perfect for relaxation and exploration. The drive through the valley offers breathtaking landscapes, and the charming village with its quaint shops and cafes adds to the charm. The walking trails are fantastic, providing an immersive experience in the native flora and fauna. The abundance of wildlife, including kangaroos and diverse bird species, is a delight. There are several idyllic picnic spots along the river, perfect for a peaceful day out. Whether you’re into hiking, photography, or just unwinding in nature, Kangaroo Valley has something for everyone. A highly recommended getaway!
Gunjan P — Google review
You can swim in the river, but the water is cold and there is a current. The bridge is suspended with a wooden deck, cars pass through it one at a time, and there is a lane for pedestrians.
Anastasiia G — Google review
The only surviving wooden 19th-century suspension bridge in Australia, and it's completely original. What a great piece of history! Traffic across this bridge is one-lane, and there's a small pedestrian path (not a lot of room). It's easy to walk to from the town of Kangaroo Valley (footpaths along the way) ❗ I've included pictures of the signage, great history! 🚻 Public toilets nearby on the Kangaroo Valley side

Coolangatta Estate is a historic retreat located just outside of town, known for being the site of the first European settlement in the Shoalhaven region. The estate offers cosy rooms and suites, a restaurant, a golf course, and a pool. It is also recognized as the most awarded winery in the area. Visitors can enjoy wine tastings at the Cellar Door and even book a luxurious picnic experience among the vineyards with wine and charcuterie.
Coolangatta winery is an absolute vibe! The views are gorgeous; the place is too. The staff are so helpful and friendly and most importantly, the wine is fabulous! Liam was the person serving us wines and was absolutely fantastic . Brenton was helping and was also great! 10/10 recommend this place!
Jenna B — Google review
While the wine selection was impressive and well-curated, the overall experience was unfortunately let down by the service and food. Our meals arrived lukewarm/cold at best. The staff seemed distracted, disengaged and this is clear and evident in the aggressive response/s given by the owner to an honest review. If the staff were approachable we would have raised our concerns regarding the food. However, the table next to us had provided honest feedback to the staff and they were met with hostile staff. Read all past reviews carefully as this is and has been an ongoing issue for years, it appears. Wish we had seen the reviews earlier. Our feedback was passed on to our tour company. It's a shame, because the wine itself was excellent — but it deserves to be enjoyed in an environment that matches its quality. Sadly, that wasn't the case here. With a little more attention to detail and care for the customer experience, this could be a truly great spot. As it stands, I won’t be returning!
Linda M — Google review
A beautiful location with friendly, helpful staff welcoming visitors to their cellar door. The wine tasting with Liam and Brenton was fabulous. They were knowledgeable about the wines and how they were produced and happy to share stories about the beautiful Coolangatta Estate. Everything we tried was delicious and the prices were very reasonable for great wine. I look forward to going back soon and highly recommend to people visiting the south coast.

Beautiful spot - lovely to walk around the grounds and see the history of the convicts village before doing the excellent tasting. We spent an age chatting with the ever engaging Liam - was impressively knowledgeable about the wine but also had great stories as he is part of the family who restored the site. Def recommend a visit
Claire R — Google review
10/10 service, Liam was fantastic and service was great, wine was delicious and they were very accommodating. Even though they were short of staff they were able to give us a great experience. If you see a one star complaining about a hens being to loud and winging, don’t listen they’re a Karen… these guys are great.

Fabulous place. We keep coming back. Love the old worldly smell of wood when you walk in. Good history here. Great views. Outstanding food. The pie was fabulous. Very friendly staff. Great outside area for the long slow days of wine tasting and lunching. A must visit.
Janetha P — Google review
We visited this winery as part of a hens party and were left incredibly disappointed. What was meant to be a fun and memorable day turned into a frustrating experience due to poor service and lack of attention to detail. First off, the food was stone cold when it arrived — not just lukewarm, but genuinely cold. For a venue that promotes itself as a high-end winery, this was unacceptable. It seemed like it had been sitting out for ages before being brought to the table. Service was slow and inattentive. Staff barely checked in with our group, and it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. Given that we had a booking and were a large group celebrating a special occasion, we expected at least a basic level of hospitality, but that was clearly too much to ask. Overall, the whole experience felt poorly managed and underwhelming. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place for group events or celebrations. Ps Bailey was fantastic with the wine tasting but was so busy dealing with all the different groups as they were understaffed as my daughter Rhiannon mentioned above,
Melissa G — Google review
Me and my husband booked a stay for a wedding. We were very sick on the week of the wedding and could not attend. We tried to raise the venue without success we then changed the dates so the venue could book someone else in our stead. They eventually thanked us for this .We requested on several occasions to cancel our accommodation without any acknowledgement. Recently the owner, Ben has turned down our good faith request to cancel. You deserve our $380.00, I hope it serves you well.... Edit (after owner’s reply): It was disappointing to see the owner question our integrity rather than acknowledge our situation. I have shared a screenshot of the exchange they referred to, which clearly shows that our refund request was declined. My husband’s comments reflected the poor customer service we experienced, not “leverage.” The customer experience begins at booking, and with 30 years in front-facing roles, I can say this venue has much to learn about genuine service and customer recovery.

Two Figs Winery, located just a short drive away, offers stunning views of the Shoalhaven River. Visitors can enjoy handcrafted wines and pair them with fresh produce from the Shoalhaven Heads Seafood & Fresh Produce Fair. For those interested in exploring more wineries, Silos Estate in Berry and Mountain Ridge Winery in Shoalhaven are also worth a visit. Additionally, Tara Distillery and Old Salt Distillery offer unique tasting experiences for spirits enthusiasts.
We recently attended a wine tasting where Nathan provided an excellent explanation of the different wines. I particularly loved their red wines, which were subtle and easy to drink. We ended up joining their membership, which is a fantastic deal! I can't recommend it enough, and I'm definitely planning to come back.

Stopped by with a group of high school friends to see Robbie for a tasting earlier today before heading back to Perth tomorrow. Really appreciated the opportunity to taste the offerings from Two Figs. The wines are beautifully balanced and it was a pleasure to taste each and every wine on offer. The grounds are amazing coupled with beautifully crafted wines which I would be happy to drink on the daily. We bought a bottle of Chardonnay to enjoy at Jim’s Wild Oysters tomorrow and sent a six pack home for the wife. Service, hospitality and generosity at Two Figs is second to none. Thanks again Robbie for the being the host with the most! We enjoyed the Chardonnay at Jim’s Wild oysters!

We had a great experience at Two Figs! Robbie was so friendly and super knowledgeable. The premium tasting is well worth it! Amazing views from the tasting room too, can't recommend it enough.

The most inhospitable experience I think I’ve ever had at a hospitality venue. We booked ahead and had 10 people come to drink Two Figs Wines. No one else was at the venue. We asked if we could sit inside because it was cold outside. We were refused, with the reason give that it was for Members only. There were no members there. We asked if we could drink our purchase bottled of wine at the bar and were refused because it would be too much to clean up before closing at 5pm. So we had to drink the wine outside in the cold. When we wanted to buy another bottle we were almost refused because it was too close to 5pm which was closing time. It was 4.40pm. No one else was there. The gentlemen that was so rude to us clearly should not be in hospitality. I highly recommend avoiding this venue. The service and wines are not worth enduring.

Our visit to the Two Figs Winery was the highlight of our trip. The location is top tier, with an incredible selection of wine to match. But what truly sets Two Figs apart is the incredible service. Every single person there was genuinely friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The staff complimented us, engaged us in conversation, and showed genuine interest in where we were visiting from. This level of personal, warm, and attentive service made all the difference and elevated the tasting experience from a simple transaction to a memorable afternoon. Tony was an absolute legend <3

We arrived on a Monday and had the whole facility to ourselves. Our tour guide, Robbie, took us on an amazing wine journey thru the afternoon. Do you like big bold spicy? They got you. Do you like a subtle drinkable everyday white, they got you. Do you want an amazing Shiraz blend? They got you. Try the reserve, so worth it. Bottom line: regardless of your wine taste, they have something for you. We left very satisfied and happy. You will too.

We arrived on a week day afternoon as a group of four for a wine tasting, but without a reservation. We were easily accommodated and had excellent service from Tony throughout, offering us a selection of delicious and interesting wines. Two Figs is in a beautiful location and very lovely building inside and is well worth a visit.

My husband & I had a wonderful relaxed experience tasting wine under the guidance of our friendly host Justin. The wines were very much to our taste and the view was spectacular. We liked the wines so much that we joined the wine club & bought a dozen to go

Fairy Bower Falls

Nature & Parks
Waterfalls
I did the walk from tooth's lookout down cliff climb track down to Bundanoon Creek then back up to Fairy Bower falls but the water was to high to get across to continue up the trail. I then retraced my steps up cliff climb track which is a pretty hard slog. Went across to Fairy Bower Falls trail head and went down to the other side of the Falls. Unfortunately the fairy Bower Falls track which allows you to continue along to the Fairy Bower Falls parking is closed due to the trail being dangerous. This would allow you to do a big loop from tooth's lookout to fairy Bower Falls carport. So you understand its a good idea to drive from tooth's lookout past the entrance to fairy Bower Falls and to what they call fairy Bower Falls carpark. All in all worth checking out. Need to be pretty fit to do
Chrissy K — Google review
A hidden gem! Despite the steep steps and long walk to reach the bottom, it’s worth the effort. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves waterfalls.
Georgin G — Google review
Lovely waterfall, tough climb down and up again but worth it in my opinion. We did it with 2x 9 year olds, 2x 12 year Olds with some complaints but not too bad. Allow more time than they say for the walk if you're old or with kids.
Robert G — Google review
Awesome trek to the bottom of fairy bower falls today , great spot
Jimmy R — Google review
Absolutely beautiful falls and worth the walk. The view from the viewing platform over the falls is breathtaking. Lots of interesting vegetation (ferns, flowering shrubs, wattle) and bird life in the area. Highly recommended. Notes - You need to park at the specific Fairy Bower Falls Carpark to have the shortest possible walk down to the falls. We parked at the separate carpark for the Fairy Bower Falls Walk. This is also a very nice walk - we saw two big waterfalls on the way down - but quite a bit harder. Either way the walk is steep (rocks, stone steps, actual stairs) and slippery in places especially after rain. You will need to cross a wide but shallow stream to get to the falls lookout. We did not walk all the way to the bottom of the falls so can't comment on what that section of the walk is like. Wear hiking boots and sensible clothing and bring a water bottle.
Lei — Google review
Around 600m hike. The route is pretty steep & rough but well worth it.
Chathura M — Google review
Beautiful trail, a bit wet, mossy and muddy in some sections. I would recommend walking poles. I didn’t see anyone else on the track. I allowed 2.5 hours and stopped along the way to just watch. I saw a peacock which was stunning. I wish I took my bathers for an ice plunge in the pool at the falls.

Beautiful hike. Lots of steps. I didn’t go the last leg down because I had people waiting for me. The slope is sometimes steep. Be prepared to use your hands !

Shoalhaven Zoo And Adventure World is a wildlife park nestled in native bushland along the scenic Shoalhaven River. It houses over 100 species of native and exotic animals, offering interactive experiences like feeding lions, getting up close to monkeys, and hand-feeding meerkats. The Treetops Adventure Park within the zoo's grounds provides a thrilling 2.5-hour treetop adventure for families with challenges amidst the foliage and a bird's-eye view of the zoo below.
I recently we took my father-in-law for a VIP experience at Shoalhaven Zoo. As we are both animal lovers I accompanied him. I have to say, the experience far, far exceeded my expectations. Steph who was our private guide was exceptional, a real professional and extremely knowledgable and friendly, a great host. Right from the start we were associating with a lot of their reptiles, koalas, tortoise, marmoset monkeys, birds, meerkats, and ending with feeding one of the male lions. For a small regional zoo, the enclosures were in first class condition, as were the animals. At no stage were we rushed and to actually experience being with any, let alone all of these amazing animals, for up to 20 mins each was definitely one of the best experiences I have ever had, just incredible. Yes the big zoo's get the media but I doubt they could have delivered anything more special than our VIP experience at Shoalhaven Zoo. Had a nice simple lunch after with a lovely iced coffee overlooking the river. Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved our VIP experience visit!! We chose this zoo over the ones in Sydney hoping for a less crowded visit and it was the best decision. Annabelle was our guide and was amazing. 100% recommend.

Older style zoo but very enjoyable. More for younger children. Very informative keepers. All staff great. Kids love petting area & keeper talks. Koalas, rabbit patting & watching lion feeding were favourite's

We had an awesome visit to Shoalhaven Zoo! The staff were welcoming, the enclosures were clean, and all the animals looked healthy and well cared for. A special highlight was meeting Reneigh the horse — such a gentle, beautiful soul who clearly loves a good pat. You can tell the keepers genuinely care for their animals, and it makes the whole experience feel personal and warm. There’s plenty to see and do, from feeding encounters to peaceful walks along the river. A great spot for families or anyone who loves getting close to animals. We’ll definitely be back to visit Reneigh again! 🐴💙

I live in Sydney and I have been to all the zoos near and far and this zoo has to be the best. We drive 2 hours to get there but WOW it's worth it everytime! The cutest, friendliest most beautiful animals I've encountered at any zoo, they seem genuinely happy. It's very interactive for a young family and a very easy zoo to nativagate without exhausting everyone. All credit to the amazing and super friendly staff!!
Nat K — Google review
A perfectly well-kept zoo, on a pretty riverbank. The animals' enclosures were all very clean and tidy, but not sterile, with interesting terrains, trees etc. We went there for the maned wolves, who were super active and inquisitive. Keen to return when we are next in the area.

The area is known for its stunning natural beauty, diverse wildlife including dolphins, seals, sea birds, penguins, and migrating whales. Families with children can enjoy the pristine beaches with calm waters at Huskisson and Collingwood.
Such a great experience! Whether you are local like us or are wanting to experience Australia for the first time by boat I would highly recommend! We saw whales and dolphins on our cruise and got information about the rich history of the area. Word of warning: if you have sea sickness or emetophobia steer clear, I had vomit on my shoes by the end of the trip.

Our Whale Eco Cruise on a rainy morning was absolutely unforgettable. Our staff (Capt Hamish and Paula) were delightful - friendly, pleasant, informative and funny. ☺️ We wound up being blessed with a curious pod of three (including Mom and baby!) that swam around us for a good long time after boat motor was cut and we were just floating along. Loved every rainy second of it!

We had a whale of a time!!! An unforgettable day. Heaps better than we expected. Whales were popping up all over the place but the big surprise was the cliffs. Wow. If you’d just come to see the cliffs you’d be deliriously happy. They were sensational. The boat and crew were great. We had good food and coffee at the very comfortable wharf. Happy people were everywhere. Bravo Jervis Bay Wild! Spectacular! Thank you.

A Must-Do Experience in Jervis Bay! We’ve travelled to Jervis Bay 3 times now specifically to go whale watching with Jervis Bay Wild, and once again, they did not disappoint. The crew are consistently friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Their commentary strikes a great balance between educational and entertaining. We were lucky enough to spot a couple of pods of humpback whales, including calves, and they stayed around long enough for everyone on board to enjoy the moment without rushing. Traveller Tip: Even if it’s warm on land, bring a jacket (preferably waterproof). We went out at 1pm on a 26-degree day, and I was still grateful for my cardigan once the sea breeze picked up. Better to be prepared so you can relax and enjoy the view. If you're considering a whale tour in Jervis Bay, don’t hesitate. We'll happily be back again.

I went on the Jervis Bay Passage yesterday, and it was absolutely AMAZING. What a fantastic experience. The sun shone, the sea was calm, and just sailing around all the Bay was wonderful. As we went by areas of interest, our captain gave very informative and interesting stories. The high cliffs by the lighthouse were spectacular. When we saw a Sun Fish, he drifted back so that we could watch it. Nothing was too much trouble. We saw a few seals too and the dolphins greeted us back into harbour. An experience I will never forget. Thank you.

Fantastic afternoon. Saw lots of whales. Even had a pod surface about 10 mts from the boat. We also got up close to the Jervis bay cliffs and cave systems. Really beautiful. Small boat but this got us up close which a bigger boat wouldn’t have. Friendly crew. All in all recommended

Had an amazing time this morning on the Eco Whale trip. Highly recommend!! We saw many whales, even one breaching and closely circling the boat. It was unreal! Saw some dolphins too! The staff were also super lovely and welcoming.Especially Ella who made us feel like VIPs and was so helpful, sharing local info with tourists. Thank you so much for an unforgettable morning! 5 stars!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Elizabeth T — Google review
This was a nice cruise experience, filled with pure rainbows surrounding the bay area from the light rain. And we saw some dolphin activity! 🐬👍 Although, I would not suggest booking cruises in the winter, unless you'd like to witness some bright rainbows! It can easily be cancelled due to harsh weather conditions, and our experience was not the opposite. It was incredibly foggy and rainy, abit difficult to capture any sealife, though when we did- it was for a short period of time. Slightly underwhelming to say the least, since we couldn't venture into the open ocean or the cliff sides. Still a nice experience overall, I haven't been on a cruise in many years.

Dolphin Watch Cruises Jervis Bay offers a 90-minute cruise that takes visitors into the heart of Jervis Bay to search for its 100 resident bottlenose dolphins. While dolphin sightings are not guaranteed, the chances of spotting them from a boat are higher than from the shore. The tour provides educational value as well, with informative commentary about Jervis Bay from the captain. Additionally, passengers can enjoy fantastic ocean views during the cruise.
If you're looking for a memorable and breathtaking experience in the stunning Jervis Bay region, Dolphin Watch Cruises is an absolute gem. I recently had the pleasure of joining one of their cruises, and it truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment we boarded the boat, the staff's warm welcome and enthusiasm set the tone for an incredible experience. The crew was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the local marine life, especially the dolphins. They provided fascinating insights into the area's ecosystem and the habits of the dolphins that call Jervis Bay home. The highlight, of course, was the dolphins themselves. We were lucky enough to see multiple pods of dolphins swimming alongside the boat, leaping and playing in the crystal-clear waters. The views were simply spectacular, with the scenic beauty of Jervis Bay adding to the magic of the encounter. The boat was comfortable, and there was plenty of space to move around for the best vantage points, whether you’re on the deck or inside. The cruise also offers a relaxing atmosphere, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the surrounding beauty of the bay and its pristine waters. Whether you're a wildlife enthusiast, a photographer, or simply someone looking to unwind in nature, this cruise is a perfect way to spend a few hours. All in all, Dolphin Watch Cruises in Jervis Bay provides an exceptional way to connect with nature and experience the incredible marine life in the area. It’s an unforgettable experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting this picturesque part of New South Wales. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this cruise is definitely worth it!

We joined a dolphin-watching cruise in Jervis Bay and while we didn’t spot any dolphins during the actual cruise, we were lucky to see one near the jetty just before boarding—which was still a nice surprise! The crew were friendly and knowledgeable, and the boat ride itself was relaxing with beautiful views of the bay. Even without many dolphins, it was a lovely way to spend the afternoon on the water. Would definitely try again—nature doesn’t always follow the schedule!

Crew is amazing and the tour was great. The crew are so caring, constantly asking how their guests are and ensuring that they could see the dolphins swimming near the boat. The tour purposefully and respectfully finds and follows the dolphins to allow everyone a great experience. We had such a good time that we also booked the whale watching tour a few days later. Thanks for having us !! We will be back for more.

Nice and Informative. Dolphin cruise will show you dolphin while keeping knowledge of marine life to know when and how the dolphins will come or interact. Nice crew and a good experience overall.

Amazing experience to be had. Hamish and crew were great. We left it, a bit late in the Whale season to see a lot of Whales but Hamish pulled it off. Not a fantastic view of the Whales as they kept moving under the water. But we all got the bonus of seeing Dolphins 🐬 Will definitely be back and try again. 👍

Had a good time & spotted some dolphins. Went down to the coast for days trip and weather was perfect. Only slight concern is to reconsider if you have toddlers. Noticed few of them getting restless as the cruise is longer than an hour.

Had the most fantastic dolphin watch trip. We saw 20+ dolphins including a really tiny young one - so cute! The skipper and crew were awesome and we were viewing dolphins for most of the 90 minutes. JB is indeed a special place and I would highly recommend this cruise to everyone.

A dolphin cruise without dolphins....I understand that they are animals and can't be persuaded to show up, but would've been nice if they mentioned where the dolphins could show up, and maybe wait a minute. No apologies or any type of compensation for not seeing dolphins. Made even worse with no one attending the consestion stand

It IS SO PERSONAL. They are also so informative about the wineries and distilleries you visit and that was a definite plus for us. We would and have recommended the Grape Escape Southern Highlands wine tours as they are #1. Continue your great personal service, you are both GOLD. Thanks for the wonderful tour and for making us all feel so special. Cheers Phil, Karen, Carol and Peter 🍷🥃🥂🍾🍇🍍🍐🍏🍋

Nature & Parks
Booderee National Park, located on the southern rim of Jervis Bay, is a coastal paradise offering stunning beaches, botanic gardens, and scenic trails. It's part of the Jervis Bay Territory and provides access to the sea for the Australian Capital Territory. Visitors can explore bush tracks, botanical gardens, and spot incredible wildlife in this lush and remote park.
Beautiful beachs and lots of Kangaroos. We paid for the park entre and visited 3 beaches

Very good family level camping in the south coast. Good access to beautiful white sandy Hyams beach. Few minutes drive to Huskisson. This is an easy level camping, you can take the family and the kids here, Hell!, even grandma can come. Comes with heated water, good toilet and washing facilities. Safe, fires only on designated spots though. The rangers come and do their rounds from time to time. Not sure if they really check number of cars or if they are registered on booking. Comes with a bit of a price and for good reason. Lots of wildlife in the campgrounds, wallabies, kangaroos, possums and kookaburras. There are plenty of good hikes around as well.

Booderee National Park is absolutely amazing! The beaches are stunning, especially Cave Beach, and we loved spotting so many kangaroos. It’s a perfect place to visit with kids — we had such a great time. A total fun experience for the whole family!

We recently spent 3 nights at the Green Patch camp site at Booderee National Park. We have to say that for the exorbitant fees we paid for the drive in, no power site we were extremely disappointed. The park is beautiful, no doubt, but the facilities were poor and dirty. The showers require you to push a button every 10 or so seconds which is rediculous and unworkable. The floors in the amenities look like they haven't been cleaned in many moons. We saw some young men go in to clean the amenities one day and were out in 15 minutes. There was actually no change in the cleanliness. i.e they did no or only token cleaning. There is simply not enough cubicles and urinals to support the size of the camp. It definitely seems as though the camp is designed for form not function. On top of this we were told there was a faucet available to fill up our offline van during our stay. We found a faucet with no handle and even after requesting the handle from a ranger nothing happened. The other disconcerting thing in the park is the sheer volume of signs related to paying park fees .. they are literally everywhere and ruin the whole natural experience. In our opinion the park has been turned into a purely money making exercise with little no thought of the user experience. The management and the costs of the park needs urgent review as they do not in any way represent a good experience or good value. This is quite distinct from other NSW Parks we visited during our trip (i.e Warrunbungles National Park) which were beautiful and very well maintained and managed at one sixth the price.

Camping withaside of paradise Booderee National Park is the kind of place that makes you forget Wi‑Fi exists. I camped here and while the facilities were solid (just don’t expect a long steamy shower), the real luxury is outside. The beaches? Unreal. White sand so bright it deserves its own sunglasses. A short stroll from the campsites and suddenly you’re padding across powdery sand that looks like it was Photoshopped by Mother Nature herself. Camping here feels like trading concrete for kookaburras, deadlines for dolphins, and traffic noise for the hush of the ocean. It’s nature‑based camping at its finest: simple, beautiful, and just adventurous enough to make you feel smug about “roughing it” while still sleeping comfortably. Would I come back? Absolutely. Even if the hot water plays hard to get, the beaches more than make up for it.

We were here as tourists from Europe. But I would definitely come here often if I lived in Syd or closed by in Australia. I would recommend to stay here 1-2 night to have relaxed family holiday time. The beach is great, with orange color beside blue and white sand. There are shadows to stay in the shade. There are walking trails in the forest. It’s great to walk under the trees, and looking out to the see. There are many kangaroos and birds, and botanic gardens…

Great national park with so so much to offer! We were unfortunate not to have a sunny day - but we still enjoyed an amazing hike on Murrays Circuit, a great picnic at Murrays beach and the outstanding views at Cave Beach. The beaches are fantastic and there’s plenty of great spots to surf, snorkel, walk or just chill and enjoy the wildlife! Make sure to buy your pass in advance - then it’s just an easy drive through!

Warden Head Lighthouse, located in Ulladulla, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean from Jervis Bay to Bawley Point. It is a popular spot for whale watching during migration season and provides ample opportunities for stunning photography. This Victorian-inspired lighthouse, built in 1873 and standing at twelve meters tall, is one of only two remaining iron wrought lighthouses in New South Wales.
I was Pleasantly surprised to visit this beautiful location, where you can see the whole wide Pacific ocean ahead and if you are lucky some penguins (which I saw) and may be an astray whale. Beautiful location and quite photogenic. I had one concern that place was lonely and there was no security cameras on the head or on the road where there was no people movement. I remained scared all the time because of a person in a strange outfit.

Built of iron wrought plates with a Victorian inspired design, the Warden Head light house stood twelve metres tall and is actually 1 of only 2 currently existing iron wrought lighthouses in NSW. If you're interested the other is the Wollongong Breakwater Lighthouse. A bit of history, the lighthouse first erected in 1873 but was first situated at Ulladulla Breakwater to guard the entrance of the Port before it was later moved to its current location in 1879 due to increased ships getting lost. For those looking for a bit of adventure, you can park your car at BUMMIE BAY (excellent surfing location) and take a short walk through the Coome Nujunga aboriginal inspired walking trail. Along the way there are plenty of plants, insects and bird life to see. Once you reach the lighthouse, there are a few maze like small tracks to take which will take you to the look outs and if you were as lucky as I was, you might see wales and dolphins swimming about. We also saw a dead baby snake (picture below) on the road so be very careful. On a side note, there's a nice brick wall near THE Boomie Bay car park entrance perfect for selfie lovers - Apollo my dog loved it. Hehe.. Both locations are both human and dog friendly! Yay! Theres a foot ball field with public toilets about 10mins walk to Boomie Bay which is an additional 15mins walk to the lighthouse! Anyone fit at heart: Park at Brodie Park Geological Time Walk. 103 North St, Ulladulla NSW 2539 and walk/run up to the lighthouse but stay hydrated. Was a good 45-60mins walk with 2 small tiny pomeranians. Was worth the adventure! 🐕😁🐕🥳

You can drive right up to the light house and viewing platform so no excuses for not doing a drive by. From all the information boards I guess this is a Good place for whale watching, but wrong time of year now. They could have added some info on the light house itself. Missed opportunity. This is a good place to park and go for a walk in the reserve.

Nice views overlooking the ocean. In the right there's also a small walk down to a another lookout. Has some picknick places and a small carpark

Beautiful views, road was closed due to lighthouse under repair so a 500 mt walk. Well worth the look. Cars only in nearby park area.

Quick drive from town to the steel lighthouse structure and a rewarding 180 view with whale information placards
