Remarkable Cave lives up to its name from the moment you leave the car park and catch the first glimpse of Maingon Bay shimmering beyond the cliffs. A short path leads to a broad lookout that frames the coastline like a postcard, then 115 concrete steps drop you to a sturdy viewing platform right at cave level. The best time to arrive is low tide, when the ocean has pulled back far enough for you to step through the twin-arched tunnel and stand on damp sand while waves boom outside the far opening. Look up before you leave, the outer arch neatly traces the shape of Tasmania against the sky, a quirky detail carved by centuries of surge and spray. If you have extra energy, follow the signed track past the car park to Maingon Bay Lookout for a wider sweep of cliffs, or tackle the longer Crescent Bay and Mount Brown walk that starts nearby. The main cave track itself is only about fifteen minutes return, graded easy, though the steps can be slippery after rain so good shoes help. Practicalities are straightforward. There is plenty of parking, well-kept toilets, and clear signage explaining the geology and local wildlife. Pets need to stay home, and you will need a Tasman National Park pass, but entry otherwise feels pleasantly low-key. For a quick stop that delivers dramatic scenery, fascinating natural history, and a hint of adventure without a long hike, Remarkable Cave earns love in my trip.

Visited in March recently. Another great place for beautiful views and geological formations. The place has a misty feel probably from waves hitting the hillside.

Definitely recommend visiting at high tide if possible. It was low tide when we visited but still great. Stairs down to the cave but achievable for most.

It's an absolute must if you're exploring Tasmania's Tasman Peninsula! The walk down to the cave is as stunning as the cave itself, with breathtaking coastal views that'll make you want to stop and snap a pic every few steps. When you finally make it inside, you're met with this jaw-dropping sight: a massive cave opening framing the ocean beyond. It's like stepping into another world! Inside, the cave is full of cool rock formations and hidden nooks just waiting to be explored. You can't help but feel a sense of wonder at how nature created such an incredible place. Whether you're a nature lover, an adventure seeker, or just looking for a cool spot to check out, Remarkable Cave definitely lives up to its name. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Walking platforms were great. Pity that you couldn't access the sand/actual cave (as if people didn't just climb over the railings - quite tricky to do. I didn't, husband did!)

Well Preserved and excellent presentation. The reception was super friendly and eager to make you understand on best options to visit the place. They can be great instructors to youngsters looking for a career in customer facing role. The guides explain in detail and in a way to provide glimpse of the times. We had some interaction with a guide Victoria and she was very good in keeping the group interested at the Commandant’s house. The harbour cruise included in the ticket and stories on board were a highlight of the visit. Well Done.

Visiting the UNESCO World Heritage site of Port Arthur Penal Settlement was one of the major highlights for our group of 29 Carseldine Probus members from Brisbane. After a comfortable bus trip from Hobart stopping by town of Richmond to visit the historical Old Hobart Town we arrived at this popular historical landmark. We anticipated with this major tourist attraction drawing large crowds that it was worth mentioning to purchase your tickets in advance 🎟 Everything that you need for facilities such as user friendly toilets 🚻 a well catered restaurant and cafe area and plenty of adequate parking for buses and cars is a credit for everyone associated with the Port Arthur Historical Site. There are two levels to the main tourist centre where all the facilities are located with public lifts taking you to the lower ground floor. You are met by your guide at the lower entrance to the grounds of Port Arthur who took us on a 90 minute tour providing excellent commentary of the significant landscape and landmarks. John our guide for the afternoon was passionate about the past history of just how Port Arthur was back in the 1800's, you actually felt that you were living the convicts arduous conditions. Port Arthur has more than 30 historical buildings and ruins plus the beautifully presented gardens and grounds. The Memorial Garden is one of the major attractions that is dedicated to the victims of the 1996 Port Arthur tragedy. After our guided tour was completed we then had the opportunity to take the cruise which passes the Dockyard, Point Puer Boys' Prison and the Isle of the Dead Cemetery. The Isle of the Dead was a final resting place for more than 1,000 convicts, military and civil officers, women and children. It just goes to show how life was back in 1800's particularly between 1833 and 1877. The commentary provided during our cruise was superb with a lot of wonderful information of what actually occurred during the time convicts survived their time at Port Arthur Penal Settlement. When visiting this magnificent area of Tasmania you would need to allow most of the day to get around the whole of this historic site.

Our visit to Port Arthur was a fantastic experience. The 20-minute guided tour was engaging and informative, offering a wealth of knowledge about this historical site. The views were stunning, adding to the overall charm of the location. Exploring such a significant piece of history was truly rewarding, making this a must-visit destination for anyone interested in both beauty and heritage.

A wonderful place in a gorgeous setting. The 90 min drive from Hobart is scenic itself but the site is worth keeping at least a day for. The grounds are beautiful and the sites rich with history. The tickets include a 20 min cruise which explores some of the further areas of the site. An absolute must visit if you're in Tassie. The reception staff is wonderful and plenty of parking is available.

There is no extra charge for parking. There are several levels and the closest parking is not only for accessible parking, but it looks that way on the sign. If you have not been to other convict sites, I strongly suggest the essentials tour, ($10 extra as of 2025) which really helps you get a sense of the place. Kudos to our guide Guy! The basic harbour cruise is included in the ticket, it takes you toward the boys correctional site and around Isle of the Dead. It is narrated and has drinks, snacks and toilets on board. We then walked around the site on our own. Don't miss rhe separate prison and its covict chapel. We spent most of the day onsite. If you come with a car, don't miss seeing Remarkable Cave and the area of the Neck. I suggest spending the night so as not to be rushed. You can particpate in a ghost tour as well.

Port Arthur, located on the Tasman Peninsula, is a historic site and a former penal settlement that operated from 1830 to 1877. Once a harsh and brutal prison for many of Australia's convicts, it has since become a popular and scenic heritage attraction. The site is known for its rugged natural beauty, which made it a natural fortress, and the numerous well-preserved buildings and grounds are now open for visitors to explore.

Well maintained site. Guides at key points to give short presentations very knowledgeable. Lovely setting. Hard to believe it was punishment to be sent here. One comment- self guided audio tour does not always follow expected pathway

This is a spectacular hike. The terrain is quite challenging and the weather can be unpredictable, but the reward is the stunning scenery. I also loved coming back to the beautiful accommodation and delicious meals after our hikes each day. As a coeliac, my dietary requirements were catered for without a problem. I also really appreciated the adjustments that the guides made for me on day 2 when I had a knee injury and couldn't continue with the planned hike. Ivy accompanied me back to the start of the trail head and took me sightseeing to some stunning sites and then returned me to my accommodation and suggestedsome exercises to help my injury. Thankfully my knee recovered enough for me to complete the last day of the hike.

This was a wonderful experience. The walks were challenging but we were rewarded with spectacular views. Danny was a great guide. Accommodation and meals were excellent at the beautiful Stewart Bay Lodge. I walked with six others (inc Judy Mullen see her review). I’d highly recommend the walk and will be looking for other walks with LAA.

The best way to do the 3 Capes Walk if you prefer to get a deeper knowledge of the area you're experiencing. Life's an Adventure really look after their guests an elevate the 3 days of spectacular walks and delicious Tasmanian food.

Three Capes was my first walking holiday and I was a bit nervous as to how I would go. Tim and Casper our amazing guides were ready with encouragement and walking options to suit my level. I felt confident setting out each day with my lovely group of friends who were more experienced walkers. Our accommodation, meals and walking trails were planned perfectly. The scenery was diverse and beautiful. It was a wonderful trip and I look forward to my next walking adventure!

What an experience! Tough at times but always worth it. Views magnificent and guides excellent. Danny had us all laughing and had an amazing knowledge of the area with lots of stories to tell. Ivy was just lovely and her knowledge too was impressive. Her love of the culture and nature was clear and she shared it really well. Weslee was friendly and helpful and keen to share her health and fitness knowledge which was particularly helpful to me. The guides were friendly and engaging and nothing was too much trouble. They stayed with stragglers and motivated those who were tired. All in all, really great three days of walks (not for the unfit) and I'd definitely recommend to others. Food and accommodation was lovely too.

Beautiful view over Hobart and surrounding city, the free binoculars are a bonus where you can lookout at the bay and on a clear day see as far as bruney island. Very relaxing and peaceful, not very crowded compared to mt Wellington. Lots of nice nature walks also.

Nice drive up. Pretty chill place to sit and admire the city view down below. If you're lucky like us you might catch a few wallabies around. There's couple of benches to sit and chill and a walking trail if you're up for it. Plenty of carpark space and there's a decent public toilet nearby. Will be a great place to catch either sunrise or sunset.

This outlook gives you beautiful views of the city and its surroundings. It is an easy drive up. It is a very relaxing place, especially if there is no one around. There are benches that you can sit and enjoy the ever changing clouds and vistas for as long as you like. Highly recommend.

Guided tour, couldn't get up Mt Wellington so driver took us here. Great views to be seen, you could self drive 🚗 if wished for free.

Had a beautiful morning. Impressed at the volunteers from Bushcare who were weeding invasive species from near the cafe. Thank you for the hard work. The area has many trails that are moderately difficult but see many families walking together

Unfortunately the kitchen had closed at 3pm on the day we visited but we were still able to get cake and coffee. Both were excellent and the view from the top of Mt Nelson is incredible. Often Mt Wellington is difficult to see from as the weather sets in quickly to obscure views but generally Mt Nelson is ok. If up here please have a coffee and a bite to eat from the restaurant you won't be disappointed.

What an amazing Saturday market! This is definitely worth planning a trip around if you want to shop locally and for me especially, for souvenirs for the family! There are so many great stalls from gifts, food, alcohol and more plus local artists playing their music for some fun entertainment! Special call outs for me were (see pics) Cheeky Devil Roaster - they are great. They took the beans and ground them for me to take home to my family to try as well~ love the coffee and love the hat! The Artesia Pewter company what amazing and beautiful pieces they have. I bought wine stoppers for the family members back in America with their favorite Aussie animal. The Tee-shirt shop with such great prices and sizes. Plenty of styles both male and female and some nice light coats too! Ned Pickering Arts for playing an assume fiddle!

It is highly recommended, everyone. There is nothing quite like gaining a deeper understanding of the city. This is one of the most enjoyable local weekly markets one could experience. You can find a wide variety of items here. I particularly enjoyed the fresh produce, food, and apparel. The atmosphere is quite pleasant for exploration. You will certainly have a delightful day there.

Yes, go! There are so many stalls, there’s something for everyone!! We had sausage in rolls for breakfast with some fresh apple juice from another stall. We got some socks as well as the most delightful ring, recycled from a vintage spoon! The day we went , there was a cruise ship in town, but it wasn’t overcrowded. Plenty of space that stretches right up the hill.

We zoomed down at 8.30 am to the iconic market on Saturday in Hobart . We beat the crush of crowds from a visiting cruise ship that worsened until we left at 10.30am. Photographs, vintage goods, tastings, great coffee and lots of Tasmanian artisans . What’s not to love? My American visitor loved it and left clutching a pile of gifts for home. I left clutching a heap of vintage posters, fabulous sourdough, empanadas and black and white photographs of Hobart .

Great day out. Variety of stalls selling high quality products and produce. Not a place to get a bargain but great to sample products straight from the supplier. Very much takes pride in the products produced in Tasmania.

Love this market with lots of local delicacies and goodies. From gin, whiskey to mead, grab a quick seafood skewers with delicious lobster bisque till handmade craft, perfume oil and souvenirs. You name it. Especially love d mead tasmanian home made cookies and muesli. Will go back

Great variety of local produce, artists, food, drinks, & amazing hard-crafted items. Spoilt for choice! Spent quite a few hours browsing here. Took home quite a few treasures. The market is set just near the docks, so we also got to see the new 'Spirit of Tasmsnia'. You can see Mt Wellington from here, a majestic sight. Great food, drinks, & music. The stallholders were lovely to talk to & full of local knowledge. Loved our day here.

A lovely walking trail of about 2 kms from the first sculpture to the last one, the 9th. This spot is the 1st one (1833) if you start from the city centre. A little bit of rolling terrain and some steep down and up hill on a couple spots but really give a great view from a different vantage point. I finished the trail by follow the St George parade to St George church then back to the city centre and that took me about 2 hours going at a leisure pace. A little histories and facts in each sculptures were quite interesting however the sculpture itself haven't really been maintained. There was a lot of fun in looking for the actual sculpture in some spots as well! Definitely a recommended trail to walk when you're in Hobart city!

This is really not my cup of tea normally but thought I would give it a go. I did like it and enjoyed the walk. I started at the second station at the top of the hill. Some of the locations were a little trick which added to the enjoyment of trying to find them. I thought there were some other sculptures they could have added and made it longer. All in all it was a bit of fun, my wife and I enjoyed the journey.

Not enough signs nor sculptures. It’s very unclear where to start or finish so we just made the most of our walk by checking out the houses and the views of the water but as far as a sculpture trail goes even 1 star is too generous!

It's a little cryptic where to go or what the sculptures are. They're named with non-continuous numbers, which adds to a bit of confusion. Always lovely to have a walk, though!

A truly memorable and unique experience. Although the museum is compact, the display is unlike anything I've encountered before. It offers a powerful insight into the lives of the early intrepid Antarctic explorers, capturing their courage, hardships, and determination with remarkable authenticity. What struck me most was learning just how young many of these men were, and the immense sacrifices they made in the pursuit of discovery. The Mawson’s Huts Replica Museum is a sobering, eye-opening tribute to a defining chapter in exploration history. Definately well worth a visit.

Small but really good museum. There is a lot of information to read, so leave yourself enough time. We decided to pop in while we were at the Salamanca Market. Definitely worth visiting!

A lovely and faithful replica of Mawson’s huts. Filled with interesting facts and items. If you are interested in polar exploration and history this is the perfect place to spend some time. There is a little park outside with some cute statues of huskies.

Wow, this place is a must do when in Hobart. It is an amazing history learning experience. My mind was blown at the conditions these men endured and the bravery that must have been needed. Head on down as all proceeds go to funding this amazing program

This was an awesome experience. Firstly Sophia at the front desk gave us a snapshot of the exhibition and interesting facts about living in Antarctica. Then we walked around and viewed the photos and archival films and read the fascinating descriptions. Then we walked into the replica of Mawson’s hut and it was so well done. Probably the best museum exhibition I’ve ever seen. Thanks for a wonderful experience. Very reasonable entry price and happy to see the money go to maintaining and restoring Mawson’s Huts in Antarctica.

I was really impressed with the friendliness of the staff along with their love of sharing knowledge and passion for their area of expertise. Rod is one of the volunteers and has actually led an earlier expedition and stayed at the original huts and has written a book that you can purchase at the store attached to the museum. Sophie, another one of the volunteers is planning a trip there this coming year. It was interesting learning about the history, geology, and lives of the men and their loyal canine companions. It was a great experience and an important part of Aussie history and culture. Money goes towards the preservation of the huts. A must go for sure. The more questions you ask with genuine interest and curiosity, the more you get out of it. Definitely a highlight for sure.

The Mawson’s Huts Replica Museum is absolutely fascinating! I had no idea about this incredible part of Australia’s, Hobart’s, and Antarctica’s history, those men were truly courageous. The museum is full of interesting details and stories. A special mention to Sophia, who is clearly passionate about her work.. she’s extremely attentive and makes the experience so much more engaging and memorable!

I went to Unzoo yesterday! The place isn’t very big—you can walk around it pretty quickly—but what makes it really worth visiting are the guided activities. There’s a super detailed talk about Tasmanian devils, kangaroo feeding, and even a session about birds. The highlight for me was definitely our guide, Dom. He explained everything so clearly and in such detail—I honestly learned so much more about Tasmanian devils. Huge thanks to him! 🐾 And another special moment for me: I actually had a bird land on my hand! It was my very first time experiencing that, and it felt so amazing. 🐦✨

The concept and presentation were just amazing. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. A must visit when on tour. We combined with Port Arthur tour from Hobart. Located on the Main Road and approach. The place is ideal for learning and witnessing Tasmanian Devil in its habitat. Great Experience.

This place is so fantastic! You get to watch the Tasmanian devils eat and you can pet+feed kangaroos and feed the rosella birds. There are so many plants and fungi to see during different seasons as well. Highly recommend.

Detailed explanation given on Tasmanian devils and unzoo project by the guide. Kids had a good time. They had only 7 devils but could witness their feeding time.

Great spot to stop in while travelling Tasmania. They do tour sessions throughout the day which include seeing the Tasmanian Devil and feeding the Kangaroos. Getting to see animals up close was great, and getting to hand feed the Kangaroos was a great experience. You can also choose to ignore the tour sessions, but honestly they added alot to the experience. Our guide was extremely informative and knowledgeable. The other sections of the 'unzoo' seem a bit lacklustre. They just seem to be bush trails that lead to the water (however this seems to be definition of the unzoo as they explained), to see not much of anything. The Kangaroos and Devils are definitely the peak of the experience.

Good idea for animals to roam free. Visit it 15 years ago. The unzoo changed a lot. Well done. A bit pricy though.

Worth the visit. Great place for all ages. Being all your own food and drinks. They do have coffee. Cafe was closed when we were there. Lots to see abs do. Up close and personal with the animals

I am most impressed with their Japanese Garden, it is so authentic and beautifully done. It made me feel I was back in Japan. The conservatory was most enchanting, it felt like I was in a fairy tale. Such a nice park overall. So many things to see like Subantarctic plant house and pineapple house. Friendly staff/volunteers, very clean and it is just magic to be in there.

Beautiful gardens to walk around and see different plants and garden designs 🌹🌺🌻🪻 It took me about 35 minutes walk from the city central via intercity way to the Botanical garden. I love the Japanese garden and the rose garden, however, it was pouring rain when I visited so all the poor roses seem to be unhappy 🥀😞 I also really enjoyed the Subantarctic plant house which have this cool looking fern with hair on the leaf 🪴🌱 and beautiful mural on the wall! The calming lily pond has a whole family of duck and duckling swimming around welcoming spring! The conservatory is nice and warm and filled with lovely orchids, just lovely to look at!

Wow, was blown away by this. Not many influencers suggested this when looking for things to do in Hobart. It was one of my favourite things. So many beautiful trees and flowers and displays. There was a small coffee van with Apple drinks and delicious cakes. Easy access for anyone. Loved it

Very pretty and well kept gardens. There are lots of informational plaques under each plant to tell you about it. Multiple different scenes/gardens. Lots of places to sit or stop in the shade. Only thing to note is that a majority of the garden is set on a hill, so expect lots of stairs and hills.

Lovely botanical gardens! It has a good little coffee cart inside too. Doesn't take long to walk around the gardens but the range of plants from all round the world and Australia is just amazing! Well worth visiting.

Very lovely and tranquil place, with admirable views. Friendly and welcoming staff, amenities and 6 hours free parking. Can't ask for more! Definitely a place to visit when you are in Hobart👍🏻

Simply beautiful. Very well-maintained gardens with multiple different areas. A great place for a gentle stroll or picnic. Very spacious gardens.

This site instantly made me think that this must of been what collapsed Roman Villas must of looked like for a 150 years in ancient Britain. 😂 Luckily the site is now being looked after, but not in a way that it’s sterile, it looks like it has for decades. But now would be safe. A number of walks take you around the whole site, a couple of hours of walking, viewing and reading signs. Or you can just view the main buildings which are close to the car parking even and an easy walk Toilets are available.

A wonderful place for camping or just parking up your motorhome/ caravan, lots of friendly animals including, Wallabies, Wombats, & Pademelon’s. lots of places to explore either hiking, cycling or E-biking. Nice tidy toilet block as well, fires are permitted but can be restricted in the hotter months, best check with the fire restriction web sight. But overall a great holiday experience 👍🏼

Stopped by the Coal Mines Historic Site near Port Arthur yesterday. It’s a self-guided experience with no staff on-site, but the interpretive signs make it easy to explore at your own pace. The spring weather was perfect, and the site wasn’t busy, allowing for a quiet walk through the ruins. It’s a fascinating, lesser-known piece of convict history that complements Port Arthur well. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area, especially for history buffs!

Oh I loved this historical site! Coming from an ancestral family of colliers this place resonated with me, in particular the plight of these miners. The plaques were easy to read as were the signs along the way showing the next destinations. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Highly recommend.

The place itself is very interesting and well maintained. There is not a single intact building here, but there's are many ruins > 10. Just like Port Arthur but less touristy and it's free and open 24h. You could be the only one there! In fact they are built by the same convicts, so the building style and era are very similar to Port Arthur. The first part to the biggest ruin is wheelchair accessible. The rest are grade 1 with a slight angle. 2 hours would be sufficient to explore everything in this area. There are access to the beach, near the main ruin and on the path afte5the tram track. The biggest downside is that the maps are very, very confusing. There's no clear map on site or internet that metioned every point of interests and the routes. The closest one is on the Open Map. It's strange since it's a world heritage site. The onsite map doesn't make sense as the distance and km shown are starting from the entrance to the 1st site and return, from the entrance to the 2nd point and return, and so on. No one would go back and forth that way, as most of the sites are within a big loop, so it only make sense if they draw a big map and show the distance from the entrance to the 1st ruin, 2nd ruin, 3rd ruin within the loop (x metres and x minutes walking). Most sites outside of the loop are short detours, such as the quarry- 10min 1 way, tram track-5min 1 way. Having this kind of map in multiple places would be very handy with 'you are here' sign. Luckily there's 4G signal so you can always check on the Open map. Without this you can get confused (even google map doesn't show the actual loop). Funny that it is well marked and well maintained but the signs are not intuitive and thought out carefully. All signs are made of steel, they look nice but can't depict drawings, photos and map nicely, plus it's hard to take a picture of them or read them as they are very reflective. The signs that I appreciate are the description of the ruin and the date built. Would be good to acknowledge the Indigenous people instead of jumping to 1800s on the time 'chain'. Animals spotted: pademelon, wallaby, ecidna, rabbits, various birds.

It's like going back in time. Only 25 mins from the Port Authur site. On sealed road till the last little bit. Grab yourself a coffee and cake from the Garden cottage Cafe on Saltwater road.

We had a FANTASTIC visit! The sanctuary has a nice variety of animals who have been rescued. They offer free tours, which I highly recommend. The host was very friendly and knowledgeable and took her time to answer all of the questions. The kangaroo area was a blast. There are about 100 kangaroos laying about waiting for a nice scratch and the sanctuary provides snacks for you to feed them. The Tasmanian Devils were a real treat as well.

This wildlife sanctuary was quite well maintained and curated for the size. It's pretty small though and only takes under an hour to explore slowly. There are an impressive number of free range kangaroos but they're totally lacking interest in the food given to feed them as everyone gets a free bag. They were already full at 10:30am on a weekday. Probably the best part about this sanctuary is how close and visible the wildlife is, and how placid and portable the kangaroos are. You can pat them easily as they're all laying around.

This is a great place to visit! It’s a private organization that runs on donations and entrance fees, and they do amazing work helping animals that are injured or can’t go back into the wild. They have Tasmanian devils, parrots, echidnas, and kangaroos. It was a pleasant and fun experience to see this place and the wonderful care they give to the animals. Highly recommend!

We had a stellar visit to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. We were advised to stop in during the day first, and that was excellent advice — the wildlife hospital is active then, and you can see the rescued animals being treated and cared for. During the day we saw plenty of birds, lizards, snakes, and more kangaroos than I could count. Their behaviour is both sweet and slightly bizarre: if you find the right spot on their chest that they can’t reach, they turn themselves around and line up for a scratch, clearly loving every moment. We returned in the evening for the private premium night tour, and it was worth every penny. There were four of us, and we were taken through the enclosures to feed and meet the nocturnal animals up close. We now have a ridiculous number of photos of us feeding and petting them. Highlights included the echidnas, the little wombat, and the opossum — though the Tasmanian devils and quolls are absolutely must-sees too, and only rank “second” because the others were in a class of their own. Our host was super informative, and we peppered him with questions which he handled easily. We learned about how the sanctuary is funded, the volunteer rescue network, how animals arrive, how they’re rehabilitated, and the individual stories behind many of the residents. It really brought home how worthwhile the effort is — this is a genuine, ongoing mission to protect and help native wildlife. It’s also worth remembering that your ticket helps support all of this vital work. A small note of guidance: you get out of this experience what you put in. If you’re visiting with very young children, a daytime stop may be enough, and the night tour might feel too long. If you’re only mildly interested in animals, the daytime visit could be sufficient and the evening tour a stretch. But if you — or your (pre-)teen kids — are truly into animals and their wellbeing, this is absolutely fantastic. A really special experience. Highly recommended.

Best tour ever. We did the night tour on a Friday. Our tour guide, Jessie, did a great job! We got to feed kangaroos, echidnas (bug porridge), devils (with tongs!) and spotted quols - “baby faced assassins” There were only 5 of on the tour. It was great! The new clinic is wonderful. You can look in the windows and watch the vets work. They do training with the animals. most of the smaller animals will walk onto a scale. Also got to pet a wombat. More later. One of my top ten days!!!!

I accidentally left my watch in the restroom during my visit to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, and the team was incredibly kind and helpful. They not only found it but also took the time to carefully pack and post it back to me — even sending me the tracking details! I truly appreciate their honesty, professionalism, and warm service. Our visit that day was wonderful — the animals were lovely, the staff were friendly, and the whole experience was absolutely worth it. Highly recommended! 🙏😊

The main reason I wanted to come to Australia was to visit Tasmania as it’s always been a dream of mine to see a Tasmania Devil. After years watching Looney Tunes as kids, it spawned a desire to see an actual one. Our guide at the sanctuary was really knowledgeable and gave us insights to the Wombats and Tasmania Devil that were definitely eye opening. The history of the reasons behind the little Devil being named as such, it’s current struggles in the wild with it facing a contagious spreading cancer and it’s temperament, an animal you don’t want to ever try and approach due to its strong bite! We were lucky to see 2 brothers in their natural habitat and watch their feeding! The Kangaroo feeding is beyond amazing especially if you live outside of Australia. This is a once in a lifetime experience for any one of any age! So thankful to be blessed enough to have the opportunity! This sanctuary is also a rescue with a hospital on site. This is a must do while In Tasmania if you are an animal lover and is definitely worth continual financial support if you are so inclined.

We thoroughly had a fantastic experience at Bangor Vineyard Shed with the lazy lunch experience. We first enjoyed the Black wine tasting and entrees to compliment with the combined in-depth history lesson. The guy serving is, sorry can't remember your name, was amazing. He was very knowledgeable in both the history of the area, but also of the wines and local produce within the area. He really made our experience to be amazing. All the wine we tasted was so good. We ended up signing up to the wine club and shipped 10 bottles of wine home. The food was delicious, both the entrees with our wine tasting, but the lunch itself. To top it all off, is the views. A great day out and well worth a stop to visit.

Beautifully located Vineyard with ocean on both sides. We had a lovely tasting and lunch. Learned more about the history as the landing of the first Dutch seafarers.

Bangor is a long standing vineyard just off Arthur Hwy at Dunalley. They have wine tasting and a highly regarded restaurant and are open from 10am to 5pm daily. We stopped by in route to Port Arthur recently and enjoyed tasting some of the Bangor wines which were generally all quite good. Ended up purchasing a bottle of the Pinot Noir and Riesling which we enjoyed very much with dinners prepared during ensuing evenings. These were some of our favourite wines found during our two week trip around Tasmania. Would gladly return to Bangor to pick up several bottles next time around.

An excellent dining experience in a lovely part of country Tasmania. The view from the dining room is amazing and the excellent reasonably priced food made this a truly perfect afternoon. We enjoyed Tasmanian oysters, quail and some excellent wine. The Pinot noir was particularly nice. The menu is well considered, with excellent wine pairing suggestions. The coffee and dessert is also very good and the gift shop and wines to buy is well worth the visit. The shop had a wine delivery deal for purchasing 6 bottles or more. If you are near here come and have lunch here.

Review We visited Bangor while on holiday from Brisbane and absolutely loved it. The food was delicious, the views over the bay and vines were stunning, and it was such a treat to see the merino sheep nearby. We didn’t do a wine tasting this time, but it’s definitely on our list for next visit. A beautiful spot to relax and enjoy Tasmania at its best.

We enjoyed a cheese platter and wine tasting here. The staff were lovely and friendly, gave us some great recommendations for local things to see and do. The cheese platter was delicious with a good variety of local produce, and the wines were very good. Great range to be sampled and we took a bottle of the rose home with us.

Our local winery is an absolute gem, Every visit feels like your day and experience is their focus, always making everyone feel welcome and comfortable, where nothing is ever a problem. Recently we had Ash and the team there showcase some of their finest wines, produce and sweets! If you want to spoil yourselves book a paired chocolate and wine tasting! It’s the kind of place you leave with a full heart (and a few bottles to take home!).

Amazing whisky produced by Chris and the team at Nonesuch, have really enjoyed the unique Triple Grain expression. Chris has a great attitude toward distilling and whisky in general, absolutely looking forward to a distillery tour soon!

This Distillery produces one of the best Australian whisky's on the market and that is across the board. Doesn't matter which batch you are lucky enough to try. They are outstanding! The customer service is absolutely outstanding and the Father and son duo means you are supporting locals and a family at that. Absolute stellar products keep up the good work Fellas.

Chris makes some of the best whisky being produced in Tasmania. If this isn't in your rotation, you're missing out.

One of a kind crafty distillery in town and oh boy those gin and whisky are all tasty! Thanks Rex for showing us around, now I've got sloe malt in my mind!

Rex was the most wonderful host - we had a very enjoyable visit and enjoyed the Port Cask Single Malt and the Sloe Gin. We'll definitely be back for some bigger bottles in future. Can't wait for cask 80 of the whisky to be released - ask Rex about the provenance of the cooperage, it's an excellent story.

Orderd my first bottle with nonesuch a few weeks back first off the layout and simplicity of the website made the entire process easier. Shipping was prompt and arrived well packed and safe. The whisky is quite well priced with all factors taken into consideration especially when some releases are only 24 bottles. I look forward to ordering many more products through nonesuch and look forward to seeing this distillery grow. I would highly recommend saving your pennies and getting yourself a bottle from these blokes!

It was my wife and I second time visiting Tasmania visiting from Melbourne and first time visiting Hobart Zoo and Aquarium. Words cannot describe how amazing our experience was. From seeing all the animals and the newly addition aquarium and also being told there will be more in the future, we will definitely come back. I was told of the owner Stuart’s vision of the zoo and aquarium in bringing more animals and fish which excites me and can’t wait to come back. Being able to feed the animals was such a magical experience and something I will never forget. Lastly our first time feeding meerkats and that was a priceless and unforgettable moment for my wife and I. Special mention to Karinda for guiding us through the meerkat feeding experience, she’s such an amazing and lovely person who is so passionate about not only her job but importantly animals. We will definitely be back!

This zoo is located on a farm site. It is fairly easy to drive to and has a good variety of animals. adored the highland cows and the rare white lions. Little kids seemed to thoroughly enjoy animals as you can feed some of them. There is also an indoor kids playground. There is ample parking available. A small Cafe is located inside pricing is reasonable. Good experience, inexpensive and can now say I saw a Tasmanian Daredevil in Tasmania!

Zoo Doo was lovely. Some animal enclosure lack signage. Staff and volunteers are excellent and are happy to chat and share their experiences and knowledge. There is alot of work to upkeep the grounds, fencing so your work is endless so everything you do is appreciated. Gift shop is awesome and reasonably priced. Lots of parking and plenty of locations to sit watch the animals or kids play. Keep up the great work everyone.

We recently visited Hobart Zoo and Aquarium, previously known as the ZooDoo, and honestly had such a great time! It was a spontaneous little outing for us as a couple, and it turned out to be a really fun and wholesome way to spend a few hours. Admission is $37 per adult, which at first felt a little on the higher end for a smaller zoo - but once you’re inside, you start to see why Hobart Zoo and Aquarium is not a huge, commercial-style zoo- it’s more personal, interactive, and down-to-earth. It’s clear that they care deeply about the animals, and the whole experience feels thoughtfully curated. We spent about 2 hours walking around, and that was the perfect amount of time to see everything without feeling rushed. The layout is easy to follow, and you get up close to many of the animals. One of the best parts was being able to feed some of the animals using tokens that are $3 a pop - which you can buy only at the entrance with multiple stations to redeem them inside. Feeding kangaroos, cows, smaller animals like rabbits and guinea pigs and even some farm animals was such a fun touch, and would be especially exciting for kids. Although the Zoo is clearly geared toward families and larger groups (which makes sense, given how interactive and animal-focused it is), it still worked really well as a smaller outing for just the two of us. There’s something really sweet about wandering around, feeding animals together, and just enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. We saw lots of laughing kids and families having a blast, so if you’re thinking of coming with children, they’ll absolutely love it. A pleasant surprise during our visit was the newly added aquarium, which you’ll find through the café area. It’s a small but nicely done space, and a great little bonus to the visit. There’s even a small touch pool, which adds an extra interactive element - especially fun for kids, but honestly just as enjoyable for adults curious about marine life. It’s a quiet, calming space and a great addition to the overall Zoo experience. The café itself is also a nice spot to take a short break, with indoor seating and some outdoor views. It's perfectly located if you want to grab a coffee or snack before heading into the aquarium. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the animals looked well cared for. Enclosures were clean, and many of the animals seemed comfortable approaching visitors, especially during feeding. If you’re in the Hobart area and looking for something light-hearted, easygoing, and interactive - whether as a couple or with friends or family - Hobart Zoo and Aquarium is definitely worth a visit. It’s not a massive zoo, but that’s part of its charm. You leave feeling happy, and maybe a little more connected to the animals than at a larger, more commercial park. Highly recommend for a fun half-day activity. We’ll definitely come back again!

I'm thoroughly impressed with the recent upgrades they are truly impressive! The staff's warm hospitality makes the experience even more enjoyable. The aquarium is a major highlight, and I really enjoyed hand-feeding the animals and bird feeding. The gift shop offers a good variety of souvenirs or gifts for loved ones and the food at the cafe is delicious! I highly recommend this zoo.

I recently visited Hobart Zoo and Aquarium (formerly Zoodoo Zoo) with my sister who was visiting from the US, and I wanted to give us an experience we couldn't get anywhere else. I'm so glad I splurged on the $750(AU) VIP encounter package for two – it was absolutely worth it! While I realize that it depends on how many others happen to sign up the same day, we were blessed to have a dedicated keeper for the two of us. The Incredible Encounters We participated in encounters with koalas, a black-headed python, cotton-headed tamarins, marmosets, a black cockatoo, meerkats, squirrel monkeys, servals, Tasmanian devils, and the highlight – the lion encounter with Lions Raw. Each experience was thoughtfully curated and genuinely special. Outstanding Staff Emma was our primary guide throughout the day and she was phenomenal. She ensured we learned fascinating details about each animal, never once making us feel rushed. Her passion and knowledge really enhanced every encounter. The lion experience was absolutely breathtaking. First we were able to feed them with tongs through the fence at the front of their habitat. Then Emma and Karinda (who was hilarious and wonderful – we could genuinely be friends!) took us behind the scenes to the lions' holding area. We were told about the safety protocols, the health care and enrichment activities for the lions. Then they set out the food and brought each one in. Hearing the lions vocalize up close – feeling the vibrations in my chest with only the cage between us and no plexiglass – was truly awe-inspiring and something I'll never forget. Jody at the front desk was also fantastic, answering all our questions and making sure we had everything we needed. The Owner Makes All the Difference What really impressed me was meeting Stuart, the new owner. When we stayed until the end for Lions Raw (4-5pm), he asked for feedback. I mentioned that we'd somehow missed the koala and squirrel monkey encounters, despite being told the package included everything. Without hesitation, Stuart personally took us to both encounters after closing time while the zoo was shutting down. His dedication, humor, and passion for the animals and his vision for the zoo really shone through. This level of customer service is rare and deeply appreciated. The Transformation It's clear Stuart is investing heavily in the zoo's future. New aquariums have been added, and construction is ongoing in various areas – all without interfering with the guest experience or animal viewing. The park is evolving beautifully and I can’t wait to see how it progresses. One Small Disappointment The only letdown was that the open bus ride through the paddocks (which allowed guests to pet and feed zebras and camels) is no longer offered. This was actually why I chose to return to this zoo after visiting in 2017. While you can still see these animals in the fields, the interactive experience is gone. Given the premium price we paid, I'd hoped this might still be available, but I understand changes happen under new ownership. It does sound like there is a plan to bring something back but in a different way. Final Thoughts Despite the one disappointment, this was an extraordinary day that my sister and I will treasure forever. The animal encounters were incredible, the staff was exceptional, and Stuart's commitment to both his animals and his guests is evident. If you're visiting Tasmania and want a truly memorable wildlife experience, I highly recommend Hobart Zoo and Aquarium. The VIP package is pricey, but for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, it delivers. Thank you to Emma, Karinda, Jody, and especially Stuart for making our Tasmanian adventure unforgettable!

It is recommended to find a non-drinking friend to help you drive. I highly recommend taking the tour, which explains the history of the distillery and the building in detail, the entire process of their whiskey production, and you can try a lot of their whiskey or other spirits. The people are very friendly, the environment is beautiful, and it is an unparalleled experience.

Gee was amazing as our tour guide. He brings the Lark’s history and whisky-making process into justice by explaining the intricate details and thoughts behind even the smallest thing. He put attention into every tour members. We enjoyed the tour and the products so much. Highly recommended for everyone who wants to know exciting details of the start of whisky making in Australia or just the usual whisky and gin drinker.

Well worth going to the Lark Distillery! We didn't do the tour but you can wander around and look at certain things (not as much as the tour) so it's still worth it just for that. You're spoilt for choice when it comes to doing a tasting, there are so many whisky's to choose from. When we went the Celler door in Hobart was closed so if it's open and you're just wanting a tasting that is more convenient but seeing where it's made is very cool.

I visited three distilleries in Tassie this week, and Lark was hands down the most complete experience. Most tours walk you through the usual—mashing, fermentation, distillation, aging—but here, you also get a deeper look at things like barrel prep and the peating process, with super clear and engaging explanations. This tour really wrapped up my Tassie trip perfectly. Big thanks to Gee for the awesome hospitality!

Nice place to visit. That said if you only want to do tastings and pick up a bottle, head to the Lark cellar door in central Hobart. While it’s a nice experience, you can experience most at the cellar door.

We visited Lark yesterday for a whisky tasting and were lucky enough to be looked after by G, what a legend! He had an incredible depth of knowledge, not just about the whiskies themselves but also about the history of Lark, which really brought the experience to life. G guided us through the tasting with an easygoing and fun personality, making it both informative and enjoyable. He even suggested swapping out a couple of our chosen tastings, saying, “I think you’ll appreciate this more.” And he was absolutely right, we ended up discovering a whisky we wouldn’t have picked ourselves and loved it so much we bought a bottle to take home. On top of that, G gave us some great tips on what to order at the Lark Whiskey Bar in the city, which we’ll be visiting today, can’t wait to try his recommendations! We have just spent the day on Bruny Island, also one of his recommendations. The best day! Thanks, G, for such an amazing experience. Highly recommend visiting Lark and hoping you get lucky enough to have him as your guide!

Not a very fair rating cause we did not go into the farm. The only fruits in the season is strawberries and we were told the recent weather made the quality bad. It’s $10 per pax per box and $20 for a bigger box for 2. Parking is ample. Spotted some wild lavender outside too.

Liked it. Went on Wednesday 24th of April 2019 and they only had strawberries due to the season. We got the $10 medium container and the $20 large container. The lady that served us was friendly and helpful.

We are driving from Port Author to Hobart, the farm it is on the way. The cherries and the strawberries are perfectly sweet and easy to pick, better than any fruit farm in NSW. Spend Half hour there is a good choice.

Great place with lots of fresh fruits at a very cheap price, though we couldn’t find any strawberries but overall it was a great experience

I had the most amazing time with Sharon and Fiona! They were really accommodating for all different types of riding, allowing me to still experience some trot and canter whilst on a beginner ride. The horses were all very happy, and the scenery was beautiful! Would 100% recommend.

Finally get to horse ride in Tasmania after multiple failed attempts to book available slots so I was really excited. Rode on Crystal for the bush ride and it is easily one of the best experience in my life! Sharon was such an amazing guide constantly giving us clear instructions and ensuring everybody is comfortable on the horse before starting the bush ride. She also turned around frequently to check that everybody is following at the right pace. I felt really safe throughout the bush ride knowing I am in good hands. Crystal is a real darling and it was so lovely to get in sync and have good synergy with her. Would love to come back again should the opportunity arise. Highly highly recommend if you enjoy outdoor activities!

I booked a ride for my partners birthday, as his first time riding, and it was such a great experience! The horses were well kept and friendly, perfect for beginners, or more experienced riders too. Our ride took us through a bush track with amazing scenery, with plenty of photo ops and a chance to have a trot. Not only is Sharon a great instructor, who really made this experience so personal and memorable, she’s an absolute delight to be around! We had a fantastic time enjoying the ride and the company, and cannot wait for a chance to go back again!

Horse Riding Tasmania, I Can’t recommend highly enough. I consider myself very lucky to have met Sharon and her beautiful big family. Love every second I get to spend with her and her amazing horses. All of her animals are happy and healthy and very well loved (some are just plain cheeky, Ryder). So come and meet Sharon and her horses, I can promise that you won’t regret it xo

What an experience riding horses on the beach in Hobart! Sharron is an excellent instructor, easy going more importantly loves a laugh! Sharron gave my partner and I a memorable time on the horses riding along the beach in the sun:) I would highly recommend anyone wanting to give horse riding a go (my first time riding horse) or if your experience you will have a lot of fun! Highly advise to get a bag of carrots and apples the horses will be your best friend! Also if your lucky Tom (Legend) might be there to help Sharron and also join you for your ride:)

What a fabulous four day hike the Maria Island Walking Company offer. Our two beautiful young women guides - Shana and Nat were exceptional in every way. Providing amazing details of the history, the geographical formations and the wildlife of the island. They prepared beautiful meals each day as well as providing any necessary first aid for fellow walkers. Our walk was at a steady but comfortable pace and the scenery was spectacular. Thank you Maria Island Walking Co and your amazing team. We loved our journey.

What an incredible four-day adventure through Maria Island. The accommodation and facilities each night were top-notch and made us feel very comfortable. The food far exceeded what I thought we would receive it was delicious and fresh. Our amazing guides Amelie & Audrey were extremely knowledgeable about the island, friendly and took care of everything for us from start to finish.

The Maria Island Walk was a wonderful experience. Our two wonderful guides were knowledgable, friendly and unbelievably helpful. They took terrific care of us and their cooking was excellent. The walk itself caters to all levels of fitness, with comfortable walks in the morning coupled with more challenging options later in the day. Maria Island has such an abundance of natural beauty. I would recommend this to anyone.

A world class destination and an unmissable part of Tasmania. The walks are mainly flat and easy, and you will see wombats, kangaroos and wallabies, as well as an incredible amount of bird life. As accommodation is limited on the island, book early. This also keeps this beautiful place from ever being overcrowded.

One of the most stunning islands I've been to. The nature, the scenery, the history and the animals are amazing. The walks aren't too difficult and the weather is pretty nice. You can camp here or you can just come for the day, either way you're winning.

One of the best experiences possible. Guides Sakura and Sharna were fantastic and all one could ask for. Well catered and planned, with the site itself a spectacular place to hike/walk and chill out for four days. Couldn’t rate higher.

We came for lunch and the food is just phenomenal. Service is also really fantastic and they had a great selection of drinks including cocktails. Unfortunately we were driving so couldn't take advantage of the main attraction - the whiskey. I'll be recommending this place to anyone and everyone visiting Tasmania.

A brilliant distillery experience. We opted for for lunch and a whisky tasting and even though we didn't have time for the tour I felt we still learned a lot about the whisky. Josh who looked after us was an exceptional host, his wealth of knowledge and infectious enthusiasm was a highlight of the whole experience. Even though it is described as a distillery that does food instead of a restaurant each course we had was delicious and paired well with the 8 seperate drams we got to sample.

An unforgettable stop in Oatlands! The whisky here is world-class — smooth, complex, and beautifully crafted. The tasting experience is informative and personal, with passionate staff guiding you through each dram. The food is equally impressive. Locally sourced, expertly cooked, and perfectly paired with the whisky — especially the pork belly and chocolate tart! A perfect blend of history, flavour, and Tasmanian hospitality. Worth a stop by if passing through. Happened on this place accidentally in search for a toilet and it became my favorite piece of architecture I have seen in Tasmania. The whole vibe is wonderful. We did not do the tasting or tour but even without it is worth the stop. Lots of history and information and an overall nice place to be. (Go get the scones at the pancake and crepe shop next door while you are here. Thank me later)

Such a wonderful experience at Callington Mill! The whisky tasting was excellent with a great variety to try, each one smooth and full of character. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the location itself is beautiful with so much history. A must-visit for whisky lovers in Tasmania!

Spectacular lunch and drinks. The photos speak for themselves. All the staff were lovely and very attentive. The only feedback I'd give is around providing a baby change table in upstairs bathrooms so team members don't have to be taken off the floor to provide access downstairs.

On the drive home to Hobart, we took a spontaneous detour into Oatlands and stopped at Callington Mill. what an incredible piece of history! Next, we wandered into the Callington Mill distillery, where we were greeted so warmly by Will. We each decided to try a tasting paddle, and what an experience it was! Every whisky was exceptional, making it nearly impossible to choose a favourite —but in the end, we left with a bottle of El Sol single malt, matured in ex-Sherry fortified wine casks from Jerez, Spain. Absolutely divine. The hospitality was just as remarkable as the whisky, making the entire visit unforgettable. Without a doubt, we’ll be back ~ to dine, to explore, and to soak up more of this beautiful place.

We had a wonderful day with the premium Skylounge package. We saw whales (about 6 humpbacks), seals, dolphins and albatross and the spectacular rugged coastline. Even with a 1.5m swell the ride was fairly smooth, although on the open deck my wife's feet left the ground for an instant. We cruised from Coles Bay to Wineglass bay, on the open ocean side and stopped to look at wildlife and natural features along the way. Once in Wineglass bay we anchored while ate a cold platter and admired the view. The only slight disappointment was the food as I'm not an oyster eater (had cheese, meat, salad, raspberries and blue berries as well) but otherwise a tremendous experience. The friendly and helpful staff were wonderful. I'd come back again!

We got lucky with weather and nature. The staff's enthusiasm and knowledge added to the positive experience. Yes , we saw Humpback whales 😁. Seals , dolphins , I think we ticked most of boxes for sea birds. And the school of the largest Blue fin tuna the crew or I had ever seen. Approx 130kg tunas , double the size they normally see.

Highly recommended. What a beautiful day on the water with Captain Mark and our hostess Dorothy(she looked after us all whether serving drinks, handing out our meals and keeping a eye out for the passengers that were unwell). A very well organised cruise and the passion the team have spreading their knowledge of wineglass bay. Saw dolphins,seals,caves and eagles.We were on the sky lounge and this included morning tea,lunch and beverages plus oysters and access to the bridge. I would recommend a seasick tab before the cruise just so you can enjoy the cruise.

Amazing day out on our Wineglass Bay Cruise, great service, excellent commentary and boat captaincy, guided by Robert Pennicott himself, wonderful service from the experienced crew. Delicious lunch and amazing East Coast scenery....highly recommend.

Loved the captain and all of the crew. They were exceptionally friendly and very good at their jobs. The views were epic and the seals were beautiful.

We had an amazing time on our recent wineglass bay cruises. The whole team are so friendly, they all know so much about the area and wildlife. We paid for the sky lounge pass which was great value for money with morning tea, lunch and a selection of beverages included. The food was absolutely delicious, and they had a great selection of alcoholic, soft and hot beverages available. Considering there is so much of Freycinet that is not so easily accessible if you're limited to short hikes, getting out on the boat to appreciate the parks beauty was an amazing experience. We saw humpback whales, dolphins, seals and a wide variety of birds! We would 100% recommend this trip. Thanks for a lovely day!

Such a great day. Noah and Sophie and the crew were so nice. They looked after everyone so well. It was so lovely seeing the wildlife and getting close to the rocks. We anchored for lunch in the most beautiful bays. The weather was perfect! Thanks so much for an awesome day. Highly recommended.

We just finished our All Terrain Tour with tour guide ‘Kyla’. It was so exciting gett ing out amongst the national park, stopping for a little echidna, had morning tea and lunch. Even experienced hump back whales while having lunch which was exciting. We took the half day tour and it was so worth it. we had such a good time and recommend anyone who is thinking about this to just ‘don’t think’ DO IT. You won’t regret it, the tracks were so fun. Best way to see the beauty of the coastline and the national park. Thanks again Kyla for a great morning.

Absolutely recommend this as it must do while you’re in Coles Bay. In addition to having a fantastic adventure on a quad, you’re able to visit beaches that would otherwise be difficult to get to. I read other reviews, saying that the two hour trip was too short because the adventure was so much fun and took the advice. I agree If you have time, before our journey is brilliant. Our guide Rob was friendly and shared with us lots of information about the area while stopping for homemade brownies and delicious sandwiches. At different times in the trip we went through brooks and climbed hills to breathtaking views.

We booked in Feb for our honeymoon for a little adventure. 100% recommend. Easy to book. We had Robert. It was an amazing adventure. Lovely staff and full of fun.

A fantastic way to visit Freycinet National Park! You will see some spectacular views, which normally take at least a 4-hour walk to reach. Riding the bike is super fun, plus seeing fantastic sights like Bluestone Bay is unforgettable. A big clap to our tour guide, Isaac, who is super friendly and helpful.

We booked this tour when we saw a pamphlet in our hotel in Hobart and thought it would be a great last activity for our week long family Tassie trip. It did not disappoint! Rob the owner and our guide on the day lead us through the Freycinet National park fire trails (and through a few river crossings) and to some beautiful beaches and look outs. We enjoyed some hot coffee and tea on Friendlys Beach and then Lunch at the Lighthouse over looking the Tasman Sea. Rob was very knowledgeable about the national park, geography and the area in general. Was an exciting and fun filled way to see the beautiful Freycinet landscape! If you have the time don’t miss this tour!

Our second time doing the half day adventure with ALL4 - we did the quad bike tour back in 2015 and were a little disappointed to see only ATV are available now due to regulation changes, but happy to say we had just as much fun!! My husband drove the ATV, I was a passenger which was actually great because I could enjoy the view and take photos. Mel was our guide and she was awesome! Super friendly, approachable and capable managing the ATV out on the trail after we needed to pump up our tyres mid way. Her instructions were clear, always giving a heads up if there was a tricky part ahead and how to manage it. Also took lots of great photos for us! The scenery and views are soooo beautiful, especially with all the butterflies on the trails. If you're thinking about booking a tour with these guys - DO IT! They are fantastic and I hope one day we can come back for a third time!

Fantastic experience today with the Coles Bay kayak for our family of four. Our guide Leigh was helpful and informative throughout the trip. Scenery was stunning and we were blessed with perfect conditions. Highly recommend.

The evening sea kayaking experience at Coles Bay was relaxing and fun. Our guide was Hannah and she took very good care of us. She also explained many geographical and even identify a White Belly Sea Eagle sitting solo high up on a tree (see photo). It was tiring at the end but a good exercise for all of us. Kudos to Hannah!

Went on the water taxi from Coles bay to Hazards bay. Easy transport, the boat driver was a lovely young chap who was very informative and happy to answer questions, very clear and thorough and was very helpful. Great and easy way to see hazards and wine glass bay. Glad I did it, as my partner and I cannot walk the wine glass bay track as we used to, due to injury. However at $75pp it is a little bit steep in pricing for a 20/25min boat ride. Glad we did it once but probably won’t be a repetitive boat ride we will take. We also wanted to do hire a kayak to use around Coles Bay but for $120 hire, it’s a bit much for just a kayak so we decided to give it a pass

Kaley & James led us on a fabulous paddle around the area. Excellent leadership, vast natural history knowledge & bonza cookie selection & tea, coffee or hot choc at our stop. No better way to spend the morning.

We had a fantastic time on the late afternoon kayaking tour of Coles Bay. It was touch and go with the conditions and potential rain but thrilled we went ahead and the water was surprisingly calm. The guides were informative and friendly, and it was one of the highlights of our East Cost trip.

Brilliant trip to Hazards Beach (by Aqua Taxi) from Coles Bay with a short 30min walk to Wineglass Bay. Definitely recommend it, and Nathan was very good to deal with. Thanks Nathan!!

Repeat visitor. It’s always so lovely. I did the walk down to Wineglass Bay again - worth it even though there are A LOT of steps! (You can only go half way to the lookout if you like). Braved the water this time. I’ve never felt water so cold it burns! Parks pass required. No need to stop at Visitors Centre to purchase - automated machine at the car park.

Lovely afternoon did two short walks to Honeymoon Bay and the lighthouse. Popped into the visitor centre to purchase a Park Pass, we decided to get a two month pass as more economical than the day pass.

Had to pay $50 for a short hike to the lookout this afternoon. No special amenities or exhibitions, just walking in the bush. National parks are supposed to be for the people Australia, not a for profit venture.

Very beautiful scenery, vivid aqua blue water. Lost of bush walking trails of varying degrees, easy to professional hikers only.

A beautiful place to stay. The cabins are very comfortable. Food excellent and beautiful views across the water to Swansea. The walk up to Wineglass Bay Lookout is a special walk as the vies are spectacular.

Go to the Entry Office and get you park pass if not already done. Good info from ladies at counter and the shop covers souvenirs and hiking supplies really well. Look for the Wombat in the shop somewhere. Walkway/tracks are well maintained and signage helps directions. Parking in all areas plentiful and caters for all sized vehicles.

Must visit place in Tasmania. So many sunset lookouts. Have multiple walking tracks according to your requirement. Wine glass bay is the iconic out of all

We did a short stop thinking they serve lunch but sadly they didn’t on a Wednesday. But they recommend another place, which was kind of them. Did a quick wine tasting (10$) and left. The Gewurz is excellent

Stopped by here for a quick wine tasting on the way to Bicheno. They’ve got both a restaurant and a cellar door for tastings. The wine was decent, but what really impressed me was the foods, I had a small cheese plate one, really tasty and well-matched with the wine. There’s also a lovely outdoor seating area out back where you can chill and enjoy the vineyard views.

Lovely wine tasting! A $5pp or $10pp option with lots of enjoyable wines. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Delicious cheese board!

We recently visited several vineyards along the Tasman Hwy between Swansea and Bicheno and enjoyed our experience at Spring Vale Wines. This is a historic vineyard with a quaint indoor wine tasting experience with a bit of history sharing for those with interest. Opening hours are 11am to 4pm daily. On the day, we were particularly interested in their Pinot Noir and tasted several all of which were quite good. We purchased bottle of the Spring Vale 2022 Estate Pinot Noir which was very much enjoyed with dinner that evening. It is a good serious Red with a smooth finish. All in all, had a very good experience and would intentionally return here if doing the rounds in this area of Tasmania again to purchase another bottle or two.

Stop at Spring Vale vineyard in the way to Bicheno. The wine tasting is decent with choices of White and Red wines. I am not really big fan of Pinot Noir which is only one type of Red they had. Anyway, their White wine is not bad.

Very friendly and informative. We especially enjoyed the Gewürztraminer. It was also a very pretty drive and lovely older building where we tasted the wine.

Absolutely blown away by the incredible lunch created by Chef Steven Kean's l'Apéro Bistro @ Spring Vale Vineyard. The bistro was beautifully styled from, glassware, seating, floral arrangement (amazing) which only highlighted the excellence of Steven's culinary expertise. The degustation was decadent and beautiful paired with incredible wine. Congrats guys

We had an amazing wine tasting experience with the lovely Neal. Spring Vale's Pinot Noir is unbeatable. This boutique winery should be on everyone's list when visiting Tasmania's Eat Coast.

We've visited this delightful wine estate during our weekend to the East Coast. Pleasantly surprised.

Great spot to see. I loved the sounds that came from the waves hitting the blowhole and you can get super close to it. Added bonus was that I got to see a sea lion too!

It is… a blowhole. Not very big, and not more special than any other blowholes. Though the red stained rocks are pretty beautiful. Would skip this if you are short of time - not worth any detour especially. If you do go, however, do be sure to stop by Lobster ShackT Tasmania for some lobsters. Those were delicious.

Had lots of laughs here. The blow hole didn't disappoint. We even found a rock pool with baby "somethings" in it. Some looked like wrigglers (mosquito larvae) and some looked like fish... I will leave it to the experts to comment on that 😀

We went at sunset, and got fairly good lighting for a few different shots. The blowhole seemed to only get high when I wasn't ready with the camera. Parking is just a little asphalt section to the side, so maybe busy times it might be difficult to park (we had no trouble on a weekday afternoon)

Even though the ocean was calm and the Bicheno Blowhole stayed quiet, the place was still full of magic. My 5-year-old spent hours exploring the rocks and nature — his kind of paradise!

The Bicheno Blowhole is one of Tasmania’s coastal highlights. Just a short walk from the car park, this spot offers a spectacular display as waves crash through the rocks and shoot high into the air — especially impressive at high tide. Surrounded by smooth granite boulders and ocean views, it’s perfect for photography or a peaceful stop along the east coast. Visit around sunset for a chance to spot fairy penguins nearby. Free, easy to access, and well worth the visit.

What a fabulous pice of coastline. A small 3km walk takes you over the huge granite boulders and a small harbour in Bicheno. Fantastic views of the beaches and surrounding islands with seals and other wildlife.

Absolutely must do when touristing Tasmania! The whole experience was extremely worth it. We did the second session of the night, and in my opinion that was the best one, getting the best of seeing the penguins and getting to stay there the longest. The guides are extremely knowledgeable, Connor knew heaps of great little facts and you could tell how much he cared for the little penguins. Pair this experience with dinner beforehand at the Food'n'Brew next door for a great night!

Friendly and informative tour guides. We were fortunate enough to see a few groups of penguin make their way up from the sea to shore.we also saw the first two chicks for the season. Knowing they’re able to breed in a safer environment due to this education for locals and visitors to this area was a highlight for me. Small enough groups to ensure good visuals of the penguins as well as other mammals living on the shoreline. Definitely worth the fee, knowing I’m contributing to the program. Highly recommended.

Excellent experience. We were lucky enough to see so many penguins in many different areas across the rookery. They were adorable and it was amazing to watch them in their natural habitat. The tour was also very informative and our tour guide, Conor, was extremely knowledgeable and really cared about the penguins. Would definitely recommend.

A unique experience for my husband and I and would definitely recommend. Our guide was so friendly and informative. Despite her advice on how we needed to behave around the penguins, eg no flash when taking photos, no movement when they near us, etc there was still visitors who ignored the advice and needed to be reminded, on more than one occasion. At one stage, I reminded someone, as politely as possible, to adhere to her instructions. Amazing experience, thank you for the opportunity to view these beautiful creatures.

When the sun slipped behind the horizon, the beach turned into a secret stage. Under a sky dusted with stars, tiny blue penguins emerged from the waves — shaking off the sea, calling softly to each other, and waddling home in little groups. The sound of the ocean and their gentle footsteps felt like a lullaby only the coast could sing.

Amazing experience, as the tour guides explained everything so perfectly, with amazing opportunities for photography and taking in the sights around you. So much amazing wildlife to see, with a guaranteed bundle of penguins to sight, and many more animals in a wild habitat. The jobs they do in order to protect the penguins are also spectacular, appreciating the careful restrictions they must abide by, whilst giving both the penguins, and the tourists a stunning experience.

We had a brilliant evening learning about these gorgeous creatures. Our guide, Dean (I think) was knowledgeable and made the facts interesting. We were given time to watch the penguins come up the beach as well as to see those who had already reached their nests. Thank you for such a fun evening. Thanks also to the bus driver who had the bus toasty warm on our return.

As someone from the mainland who has been to bigger zoos and seen it all but just cant get enough, I have to say do NOT skip over this beautiful little sanctuary. You get up nice and close with the animals and really get to admire them. The guides are full of knowledge and really love what they do and so do we! Definitely worth spending the extra $ on a cuddle with any of the animals. They are super cute and you won't forget it and all that money is going back into their care. We especially need to look out for our animals in tassie and these guys do just that <3

Really enjoyed all the animals, especially feeding the Devils - I think one of my favourite animals. The keeper (bushy blonde hair and red beard) was superb - very knowledgeable and friendly. Loved his interaction with the Devils - that lived up to their names

What a ripper little zoo! We spent about two hours here feeding wallabies, white wallabies!, Emus (scary), and most importantly Tassie Devils! We were there at feeding time and because we were just about the only people in the park (winter/out of season) we got a private showing with lots of explanations by the lovely wildlife lady. We even got to pat a devil! The bird enclosure was also love with friendly native parrots. All in all a very good and value for money experience.

We had the pleasure of doing the Devils in the Dark tour with Leon last night. Wow what an amazing experience. Leon was the perfect guide so full of information and delivered it perfectly. Being so close to those awesome devils is something I will never forget. If you get a chance do it !

Absolutely unreal visit, a much more intimate experience than you'd get at Australia zoo. All the staff clearly loved their jobs and their passion for the animals shows. Definitely a must visit if you are in the area.

had the most amazing time at the east coast natureworld, we booked in for the baby devil encounter and it was worth every cent. being able to cradle and pat them was an experience I will never forget. the host of our animal encounter (Josh) was very friendly and informative, and it was incredible to have such a unique one-on-one encounter with these lovely devils. definitely recommend coming here whether you're visiting or live local, it's such a great way to get a proper hands-on experience with these beautiful native animals and as I mentioned before, it's truly worth every cent. thankyou to east coast natureworld and especially Josh for such a fantastic and memorable day :)

I am not usually a huge fan of seeing animals in captivity, but I genuinely enjoyed the „Devils in the Dark“ experience! The animals are considered ambassadors for the conservation efforts of the species and treated as naturally as possible. We got to see seven little devils making a carcase disappear while a knowledgeable guide gave a bunch of interesting information. Absolutely recommend.
