What an amazing place! It’s bursting with color and textures everywhere you look. I was thrilled to spot two adorable platypuses in different lakes—such a fun surprise! The staff were incredibly friendly and shared some wonderful stories about the grounds that made the visit even more special.

Was $15 entry which surprised me at first, but after walking through grounds you can tell that they’re well looked after. Also saw a few platypus’ and pademelons which was cool! I didn’t eat at the cafe but it smelt amazing when I walked past.

Lovely little spot, $15 per adult without concession, very nice spot for a wander, spent around 2 hours here wandering about admiring the plants, bugs and little creatures. Quite enjoyed watching the bumblebees flying around gathering their pollen. But also was lucky spotting a Potoroo and what appeared to be an eastern barred bandicoot. Very nice would visit again.

Went for the Autumn Spectacular and it lived up to the name. Truly spectacular!! The colours were just incredible. Definitely recommend spending a couple of hours walking through the gardens, around the lake and just taking it all in.

Beautiful gardens and lovely cafe for a Devonshire tea afterwards! Highly recommend you partake in both the walk and the scones.

We were a couple of many visitors viewing this garden, which showcases a spectacular array of Rhododendrons, annuals and perennials in an entire range of colours. The displays in early November are a “must see” and everywhere is an eruption of blooms. A highlight of northern Tassie.

Started with lunch, excellent. We then strolled down to where the platypuses were. Then we went up and around and and should have taken a map. So many sights to see. Coming back again when they are in full bloom.

Great spot to have lunch or stop for a break, plenty of bbq tables and bbq easy walk along the river. If your lucky you will see a platypus we didn’t but lots of other wildlife, and the views are great.

Nice easy, peaceful walk along the river. As someone else mentioned, I also saw a platypus right off the carpark, right around 1pm! There are tons of beautiful birds around as well, including some glossy black cockatoos, but I was unable to get a pic of them.

It has always been my dream to see a platypus in the wild, and I had been told that this was the best place to see one. After doing the beautiful walk we returned to the carpark and there was one swimming right in front of the viewing platform! We stayed for about an hour, quietly waiting and saw three more! (Or probably the same one three more times) beautiful area, so clean and close to the city. I recommend spending some time near the river at the carpark, being quiet and still, and you'll get your chance to see one too!

We recently visited the distillery, and I have to say, it was an awesome experience! As new shareholders, we were really excited to see everything up close, and our host, Emma, made it even better. She was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable, sharing all sorts of interesting tidbits about the distillation process and the history of the place. Even though the distillery wasn't in full swing during our visit, we had a good look at the factory and a really good explanation on how everything operates. It was fascinating to see behind the scenes! One of the highlights for us was bottling our own whisky at the end of the tour—it felt special to take home something we are now a part of. And the whisky tasting was magnificent. We were able to sample some really high-quality stuff, and Emma guided us through the flavors, which was really helpful. Overall, it was a great way to spend some time and I’d recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about the process and tasting some excellent whisky.

I visited here on another stop while cruising with Seven Seas. It was picturesque overlooking the mountains. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. If we had more time, we could have eaten a meal here as well. We bought 4 smaller bottles of their delicious whisky to take home. I truly recommend going here. You won't regret it.

Had a combined Valentine's Day lunch with friends visiting from Victoria. Gorgeous views, pleasant atmosphere and great food! They had a set menu for Valentine's Day, three courses including oyster entree! And of course the whiskies are good, and whisky cream liqueurs are to die for. The coffee "Irish cream" is my go-to favourite now!! 😋

Had a great tasting here, staff were really knowledgeable and friendly. They have the biggest collection of most Tasmanian whiskey’s and offer flights of limited release, exclusive and rare collectors bottles. They also offer a fantastic gin tasting for non whiskey drinkers. Highly recommend a visit if you’re on Bruny Island.

A hidden gem near Burnie! The short walk to the falls is easy and refreshing, and the scenery is absolutely stunning—especially after some rain when the water really flows. There’s a lovely picnic area at the top and even a viewing platform for great photos. Peaceful, clean, and perfect for a quick nature escape.

Absolutely lovely find! Its beautiful from any angle, free, and easy access. If you have trouble with stairs I recommend parking at the lower area and walking up a gentle incline to get a view from below.

Guide Falls is an absolute gem! The falls themselves are stunning. The area is well-maintained, with clean picnic spots and easy walking tracks that make it accessible for visitors. The walk to the falls is short and pleasant, surrounded by lush greenery that really adds to the experience. It’s a perfect spot for a peaceful escape into nature. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in the North West area.

A highlight of Burnie, a place where you can view and purchase local artisans wares. Also has a good tourist information and Papermaking workshop,...Definitely worth doing. Cafe is busy and average price.

Well worth a visit to watch many various arts and crafts being made. There's also a pictorial history of Burnie and a couple of really interesting installations.

Kids throughly enjoyed the paper making tour inside. Learnt alot and even dicided to purchase a paper making kit after the tour. Our tour guide was full of knowledge about all things paper. Would recomend if your in the area and if the weather is not great, as was our case, perfect indoor activity. Also has art work and various other stores.

Made paper, looked at restored coal loader made in Burnie. Little penguins are located by board walk. Local artists display their art. Very interesting.

A must see when in Burnie. Take a paper making tour and see how paper is made. The Makers' Workshop has very helpful and friendly staff, especially Darren on the paper making tour; he's very knowledgeable and passionate about the paper making process and it shows; an asset to the place. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about the process. You also get the chance to make paper at the end, awesome experience.

We attended the moonlight stories show in the night. It’s EXTRAORDINARY!!! The light and the music were amazing!!!

Lovely classic style lighthouse, however views over the ocean from the ground are obscured by foliage.

A great addition to the tulip farm visit. The lighthouse is close by 1km and provides a great view of the lake and surrounding countryside.

So beautiful along the coast. You can drive up even though it's closed through the week.

Lovely walk from Lighthouse to Table Cape much more relaxing than driving between the 2! 20min stroll each way even dallying to snap photos. Path being upgraded so safe for anyone other than true tearaways. One pitch up/down to take care but I am not fitness freak and enjoyed it!!

We stopped here to checkout the lighthouse before going around to the lookout to enjoy the views. You can have a tour of the lighthouse if your there at the right time. You may want to enjoy the short walk from either if you like to park at one and walk to the other. There are picnic tables at each site if you like to stop for lunch or a snack and enjoy the view.

Not a lot to see - but good views over the neighbouring tulip farm and lake. Nice picnic benches but no real view of the sea, and no other services.

Informative place for tasmanian giant crayfish. Kids really enjoy this place. It seems that this place focuses on education for ppl. Also has alviary with several kind of birds. We saw 60yrs, 20 yrs, 5 yrs giant crayfishes and can know which are female and male via tails which is very interesting. Don't eat it otherwise 10k in penalty.

Fantastic little cafe and lobster exhibit. Best coffee and scones with raspberry jam and cream I've had for a very long time. Totally recommend going a little way off track to visit this fantastic place. Very warm, welcoming atmosphere.

This place is ok, when we arrived we didn’t realise you had to go via the cafe for the tour and toured by ourselves. They have birds and Salmon/trout too, we didn’t see any lobsters in the ponds. The cafe was nice it has souvenirs and lovely scones. Staff are nice.

Great place, freshwater Crayfish and now birds. Mostly volunteers that have done this to help Crayfish from being endangered. Happy to pay $10 for this beautiful place, Crayfish, birds and Trout. I enjoyed it, very informative guide.

Well worth the drive up to get to see one of these fresh water creatures up close and personal. We had no idea how much effort goes into keeping these amazing creatures alive and the age or length they could grow to until visiting this place. I would recommend anyone who visits tassie take the time out to travel here for a once in a life time experience. Why not Tay for tea and a sandwich as well overlooking the valley it’s well worth it also.

This is a not for profit organisation for the conservation of Tasmania freshwater lobsters and some birds. It’s unique and hopefully gets a bit more traction in the future.

Visited TarraWarra Museum of Art in the Yarra Valley and wow - what a beautiful spot! The building is stunning, built into the hills with gorgeous views through huge windows. Their art collection is small but thoughtful. A bit far from Melbourne but worth visiting if you're in the area!!

Stunning grounds, and a very impressive collection of art. Would recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. There’s also a cellar door and restaurant on site which both looked great

The place is stunning, a combination of museum, gallery and wine tasting bar. The scenery is very attractive but calm with water features. The architectural of the buildings were attractive too with all the sunlight and shadow. All the staff are super friendly, especially at the wine tasting bar, a lot of small talk and really let us enjoy the time for the wine tasting, not as commercial as other you may encounter. Also the place is relatively quiet so no need to be rush and face the crowd. if you prefer some quiet moment and for some wine tasting that is not being pushed, here is the place.

We really really enjoyed our visit. The Staff are friendly and welcoming. Well worth a visit and allow plenty of time to explore. Don’t miss the Callum Morton installation on the way in (make sure you go inside)

We went for lunch but stayed for the art exhibition. It was mainly indigenous art, much of which was beyond me. I found some works very moving. It included painting, sculpture, video/sound works and other forms of art. Worth a visit and the restaurant has excellent food though not cheap. You certainly get quality for the money and the service is first class.

We haven't had a chance to visit when the museum opens so we can give a review regarding the external area only. It was a great scenic spot to chill out for get away trip. The best time to visit would be around the autumn season as they have few nice areas with yellow autumn leaves plants. I guess other seasons like spring are also good with leafy pathways and a big pond in the middle. It gives a calm and peaceful feeling when walking or sitting around in the area.

This is such a great place! There are lots of planes you can explore and experience, which aviation enthusiasts will love. You can also see some really good planes practicing nearby. Kids enjoy it so much — and children under five get in for free! There’s a DFO close by, and it’s not far from the beach either. Amazing spot!

Such an amazing place. Great for kids and big kids 😜 my husband loved sitting in some of the planes himself. It's well maintained and so munch information about the planes and local airforce and defence personnel. Highly recommend coming here.

It’s not a huge place, but the entry ticket is worth every penny. Despite its size, they managed to fit as many displays as possible. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the planes, and having a seat in a fighter jet was an amazing experience. It’s definitely worth visiting and a must-see place.

My son and I enjoyed ourselves here. The best part is getting into the old plans to get a sense of how older pilots operate. The analog dials and switch gears is an eye opener.

It’s not a big museum but they have tried their best to put everything in, from military to commercial jet. A place where aviation lovers must visit, not crowded and can even sit on those jet. We had a fun time there.

So many things to explore! They have done an amazing job keeping with the original design/rustic feel of the planes but made them accessible and mostly safe for children and young people. Older people would enjoy the history information available in the shed, whereas the outside space seemed more kid friendly. My son got a little scared inside the dark aeroplanes and shed so probably best for ages 3+ years. There is one plane that you can enter that has seats and seatbelts which would be awesome to take your child there to practice if you have a flight coming up that they are anxious for! One staff member was quite firm with a small bunch of teenagers that I didn't feel were doing anything wrong, I think she was worried as they were unsupervised and there are some areas that need careful supervision such as going up very steep ladders/stairs. So probably best to go if you have a small adult to child ratio.

Loved it here, so much more than we expected. Indoor and outdoor displays, lots of information about many of the aviators. The little shop is also really good. Great for all ages.

Wine tasting and lunch at Yering Station was one of the highlights of our Melbourne trip. I was delighted to try some delicious red wines and enjoy a wonderful lunch there. The beautiful surroundings, elegant décor, and friendly staff make it an outstanding restaurant and winery. Highly recommend.

I was really excited for this one. We went for the wine tasting on a beautiful sunny day, the kind of weather that makes you want to be outdoors enjoying the view. Unfortunately, the tasting itself takes place indoors in a fairly dim room with very little natural light, which felt like a real shame. With such gorgeous surroundings outside, it seemed like a missed opportunity to create something special. During the tasting, four different staff members poured for us. Three of them asked what we had already been served, which made the whole experience feel a bit disorganized and not as smooth or welcoming as I was hoping for. The wine pours also felt quite small -more like a sip than a proper tasting- and I think most people would agree after seeing the photo I’ve attached. Inside, the décor follows a pop-art theme with Andy Warhol replicas. Normally, I appreciate that style, but here it felt completely unrelated to wine, wine tasting, or the heritage of the vineyard. Instead of enhancing the atmosphere, it actually worked against the rustic, old-world vibe that the place itself naturally carries. That said, the outdoor area is stunning. The grounds are well kept, with a beautiful grassy area out front and a lovely lookout point that really makes you stop and take it in. It honestly left me thinking how perfect it would be if the wine tasting were moved outdoors, perhaps with a small kiosk or bar set up in the middle of the lawn. With the sunshine, scenery, and a glass in hand, that would transform the experience into something unforgettable.

You can't fault much here. The service, food and atmosphere is exceptional. However, there was a fault in the steak option that I paid extra for on top of what my parents had already paid for a 3-course meal. It might not seem like a big deal, but since I asked specifically for "true medium rare", not medium, which it ended up exactly being on my plate, that was disappointing, being such a high quality piece of meat. Other than that, it was an amazing lunch, and had me bursting at the seams. I could have just had the pork belly entree and pistachio dessert and been satisfied.

Had a great meal at Yering station. Great service beautiful views great menu and flavours. Everyone enjoyed every dish. Loved my prawn entree. The fish main was perfect. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Front of house Trixie was very professional. Wines were great. Deserts were delicious. Highly recommend will def return.

We had a very odd and dissapointing experience at the restaurant. We had booked lunch using a luxury escape voucher which included a main, choice of wine and two shared sides. The only positive was how well cooked the meats were and how tasty the wine was. Other than that, our experience was very strange. The strangest part or our experience was the use of potato off cuts in our roasted potato side - see picture below. I have never before seen potato fondant off cuts and bits of potato eye served to guests. It's really incomprehensible and unappetising. We ended up leaving the potato dish. The salad was also quite terrible - it literally looked like a Coles pre chopped salad mix that was topped with a few sprigs of dill and some goats cheese. The leaves were barely dressed and very plain tasting. Onto the main meals, which ended up being quite odd as well. The cuts of meat were very tasty and well seasoned. The biggest negative was the random pastry basket served with the pork and holding chopped apple. The basket was pale, undercooked and soggy. It didn't really add anything to the dish. The duck dish was also a bit odd with an undercooked cannelloni filled with pulled duck and cabbage. This was bland and underseasoned also. While both dishes looked pretty, they left much to be desired and not worth the cost or effort. Overall, we would not be back and we wouldn't recommend to others. There are much better choices in the Yarra Valley (and much better luxury escape deals as well). Be warned.

Beautiful Vinyard with celler door and restaurant. Simple elegant feels with vase space. We went to cellar door to get a cheese platter and a glass of wine as we arrived too early for our lunch booking. There are a small number of outside table for you to enjoy the cheese board and wine and it was super delicious. The celler door staff was super friendly and professional, compared to my recent visit to Pt.Leo celler door where staff would just ignored you. We then moved to the restaurant after we finished the cheese board. Lovely open space in the restaurant area with glass wall from floor to ceiling open to the landscape! I was going to do the 3 courses and finish with dessert to share with my partner but the food size was really substantial I was way too full and couldn't even finish my fish main. 😞 My entree of scallops with bacon was so good, a little too much of pumpkin. The barramundi with eels mashed was very tasty as well, but also feel like there are too many things on the plates. Overall I enjoyed my food. My husband entree was great but the main is a little bland. Definitely recommend the cellar door for wine tasting and cheese platter for chill out outdoor on a good sunny day 😎🌞

Probably the naturally most beautiful nature reserve we’ve visited in the suburban Melbourne east area. Heaps of detours for kids’ adventures among beautiful bridges and waterways. Great place for a weekend walk!

Tucked in from the road with toilets and parking. Walked down from deep creek road through a tree lined path lovely bush walk along the creek with well maintained paths plenty of bird life at the cottage end there is a large grassed area. Plenty of shade on the walk.

Beautiful gem hidden within Mitcham. You can't believe you're in the suburbs and within minutes from the busy Eastlink freeway and Eastland/Costco area of Ringwood. My favourite place to go for a walk; it's very safe and you still get 4G on your phone!! There are plenty of trails and one leads directly to nearby Schwerkolt Cottage and Museum. The carpark nearest the toilets and info centre is at Ashburton Drive and you can refill your water bottle there as well. The bike track goes all the way to Mullum Mullum Creek I can spend two hours here just leisurely walking and being in nature, listening to the birds and watching the ducks. There's a pond and parts of the creek along the walk, with naturally fallen trees creating bridges. Just absolutely my go-to place for when the weather is perfect to go for walks or even a jog/run! Dogs must be on a leash.

Edendale Community Environment Farm is the perfect place for a relaxing, educational family outing in Eltham. Entry is free (donations welcome), so it’s super accessible, and kids absolutely love feeding the chickens and meeting friendly farm animals like alpacas, goats, chicken and sheeps. The gardens are delightful with a spiral garden, shaded sandpit, and quirky recycled-art features that are great for little explorers. Cafe Eden is lovely for a snack or coffee with a view, and the lawns make a great spot for a picnic too. There’s ample parking onsite, and if that’s full, you can easily park at the nearby playground and walk across via the bridge. Recommend for a fun, green, and budget-friendly family day out.

Visiting Edendale community environmental centre was lovely and educational. It’s a great setup and family friendly. There were quite a few school groups having an educational introduction in worm farming and composting. I wandered randomly seeing the chooks, goats, Guinea pigs, sheep and alpacas and admired the garden art features. I finished at the gift shop with so many nice things and bought a bag of organic apples. The cafe offers great and affordable drinks and foods, so I enjoyed my egg & chutney toasty before heading home. Thank you! 💖🌸

Since I found this farm, I often go visit this place with my kids. This farm is run by donation only and you simply do the donation as needed by tapping your card. Everything was so easy and peaceful. This is not one of the big farms but it has all the animals you expect to see in a farm. We loved seeing little lambs jumping around and we had a chance to feed animals there. Really cute to see little chickens in the enclose and they are very gentle with kids. My kids always have fun feeding and touching animals - easy couple hours of fun for kids! I personally did not like the cafe as the quality of coffee was bad and the staff working there were extremely slow and not very friendly. Probably everything in this cafe was over-priced for its size and quality. From my perspective, not good beans nor well-trained barista. As long as I got my coffee and snack from somewhere else, this farm is the easiest place to go! A lot of people just have a picnic! Free parking but it can get busy sometimes.

Amazing place to take the kids. Also ideal for a picnic as you get the nice shade of the big trees. There is a cafe and plenty of parking. You can also feed some animals, so it’s worth the visit. No entry fee, but you can make a donation. There is a small nursery where you can buy some beautiful plants.

I really enjoyed my time there. This farm is very well maintained, beautiful and free. A donation is only just $3 (pls don’t forget to donate) and chicken food for $2. Great experience for kids just with an affordable budget. Parking can be difficult when there’s a birthday party going on. A playground next to the farm is also a must visit!

It has been years since I was last at the Shrine and I cannot remember it looking so well kept and iconic. This area is such a wonderful part of Melbourne to walk around and to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for Australia. The trees around the Shrine are dedicated to various Battalions and units throughout the ADF history. Thank you so much to everyone involved in the maintenance of one of Australia's most sacred areas.

A beautiful and peaceful place that I often visit. The architecture is impressive, and the view from the top gives a great look over the Melbourne skyline. The lush gardens around it add to the serene atmosphere. It’s a war memorial built to honour all Australians who have served and continue to serve in wars and peacekeeping missions. There’s also a museum inside with interesting displays and personal stories. It’s a place where you could sit for hours, switch off, and reflect. Definitely worth a visit.

It is an amazing place to visit, to learn the history of war. You’d better allow 3 hours to visit the place. There are street parking available that peak hours $4/ hour and off-peak $2/ hour.

I were surprised there is no charge for visiting Shrine of Remembrance. Donations are accepted. Great place to visit and learn about Australian military involvement around the world 🌎 The architecture is impressive and the view of the city is breathtaking. The place is truly grand and beautiful, absolutely magnificent. If you visit Melbourne, this is definitely a must-see. Underneath the structure, there’s a museum that you can visit for free.

Walking through the gates, I could feel the energy and legacy of countless legendary matches that have taken place here. My daughter and I, visiting from England, had a great time on the tour of the MCG. Expertly guided by club member Anne, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience on the eve of the AFL Grand Final. As we anticipated, the changing rooms and Long Room were out of bounds so close to the big event, but these minor disappointments were soon forgotten as the rest of the tour was so informative and inspiring. Should you have the opportunity to also visit the adjoining museum you must do so, as this is a phenomenal experience. Many thanks to Bill, the very helpful volunteer who entertained me here. A real highlight of our trip to the city.

This is the second largest cricket ground. We were welcome to visit the cricket ground. Each and everything of the auditorium was clearly presented to us. We saw the cricketers landing area , their changing rooms , Physio therapy rooms , resting rooms . The ground was being maintained. We also saw the place where the speakers sit , the management sitting area cafeteria and so on . The best part is the museum. Very informative. Must visit whole you are at Australia don’t miss it.

The NGV is definitely a must-visit when you’re in Melbourne. The variety of art on display is incredible — from classic works to contemporary installations, Indigenous pieces, and international exhibitions. Every room offers something unique, and you can easily spend hours exploring without getting bored. What I loved most was how thoughtfully everything was curated. The exhibitions had a clear flow, the descriptions were informative, and the overall vibe was calm and inspiring. The gallery space itself is also stunning — spacious, clean, and easy to access by public transport. That said, it can get very crowded during major exhibitions. Some parts felt rushed or hard to fully enjoy because of the number of people. Also, the layout can be a bit confusing at times, especially when transitioning between different sections or locations. A few visitors seemed frustrated by early room closures or long queues for ticketed exhibits. Still, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. NGV offers a rich cultural experience and is a gem for both locals and tourists. Just try to visit on a weekday or earlier in the day to avoid the peak rush!

The NGV is always a great place to spend a few hours, even though it was quite packed during my visit, there’s so much to see that it’s worth it. I visited the National Gallery of Victoria on a busy Saturday afternoon with friends. I’ve been a few times before as a local, but this visit stood out because I had the chance to really explore more of what the gallery offers. It’s just a short walk or tram ride from Flinders Street Station if you’re coming by PTV, or plenty of paid parking is available nearby if you’re driving. The building itself is hard to miss, with its large size, striking fountain and man made pond out the front, and of course the iconic water wall at the entrance. Entry is free unless you choose to see one of the rotating paid exhibitions. This time, we skipped the ticketed exhibit and wandered through the many free galleries instead. On the ground floor, there’s a stunning foyer space filled with sculptures and the famous room with the colourful stained glass ceiling, which always feels magical to walk under. From there, you can step outside into the sculpture garden and pond area, which is another highlight. Getting upstairs is easy with both escalators and accessible options. The galleries are currently arranged by region, and it was fascinating to walk through each one and see the differences and similarities across cultures. I especially loved the Japanese and Chinese galleries, the detail and richness of the traditional pieces were incredible. Even though it was busy, the space felt open enough for everyone to explore at their own pace. There were toilets on every level, information points, and staff around to help if you needed directions. The building itself is so large that it almost felt like a maze at times but getting “lost” just meant stumbling upon more artwork to enjoy. We didn’t even manage to get through everything before closing, which only gives me another reason to come back. Everything felt well looked after, and the whole gallery had such a calm, inspiring vibe. I’d absolutely recommend visiting the NGV if you’re in Melbourne and looking for something to do in the CBD. It’s packed with history, culture, and beauty, and it’s the kind of place that makes you want to return again and again.

This is a arts & culture plaza situated across from street from St. Paul's Cathedral and the historic Flinders Station at the intersection of Flinders and Swanston Streets in the CBD. It makes use of 3.2 hectares of space and includes several notable venues for art and cultural events and performances along with museums, galleries and restaurants. You can learn more about current and upcoming events on the Fed Square website. There are a handful of modern buildings with appealing architectural design on the square, making this an interesting place to browse and spend time even if not visiting to attend events. For this purpose you can pass by and spend a few minutes just before crossing Princes Bridge and the Yarra River to spend time at the Gardens or South Bank attractions to the south.

We visited this museum, it was very close to our accommodation.. it’s free to enter however they do have a few exhibits that you have to pay $18 to visit but we did not.. this is a museum that centres on art , some done by indigenous people and their culture .. others done with recycled material, and others from famous people like James Brown + many more .. you can take pictures as well .. there is a gift store and bathrooms on every level .. there are escalators and elevators…

Very wonderful plaza place. This is a nice place to meet up at, as there are many places to sit and talk about whatever is happening. This place is right opposite Flinders street railway station, which is good, i guess. This place holds many different events and shows, and at Christmas time, has some amazing Christmas decorations, like a giant Christmas tree, and more. Very nice.

We really enjoyed our visit to Melbourne Skydeck! The 360° views of the city were absolutely stunning and gave us a whole new perspective of Melbourne. Definitely worth a visit if you want to see the city from above.

Visited The Block Arcade early in the morning, quiet and easy to explore. Beautiful heritage building with ornate mosaic floors, glass roof, and boutique shops. Fun fact: it was opened in 1893 and is one of Melbourne’s most iconic historic shopping arcades.

A visit to Sealife is a wortwhile and enjoyable activity for the whole family. There is something for everyone and a wide selection of exhibits. They have sharks, rays, turtles, jellyfish, seahorses a touch tank, frogs, snakes and penguins! The lift upgrade was happening during our visit so had to park the pram out front. We had reserved a pram spot but were strongly advise against it unless we absolutely needed it. Managed ok without it. They have "free" pictures which they ask you to pay $40 for at the end. To be fair they come in a very cute book and it is a neat souvenier. Overall, recommend. Will be good once the lift is fixed.

It was ok, maybe were just spoilt other similar places around the word are way better. I really wanted to give it 3.5 but that wastnt an option. I went with my 15 year old daughter and we went as slow as we could and were in and out in under 2 hours. The exhibits were pretty good but there was a lot a areas with nothing. You also couldn't really do multiple laps more like a one way system. It was also very tired and in need of a huge update. So areas were unique and very enjoyable like jelly fish section. The crocodile pen was closed which we were unaware of. I does get really busy, I don't think it's worth queueing up for long unless you've neve been to an aquarium before. It's also on the expensive side for what there is. Perth Aqua which I think is better is about $20 cheaper. The only good thing is kids age is 15 which is very fair.

We've been members here for years and totally love it. They've renovated, especially with a cool new section where you can check out native marine life like biscuit starfish and spider crabs, and explore the rocky shore. The interactive rockpool is awesome for all ages, and their staff are super helpful, explaining all the species. One young Asian guy, I didn't catch his name, was amazing – he'd notice us looking at something and then drop extra facts. My toddler was hooked and learned so much from him! We went on a Friday around lunchtime. This place always delivers with spot talks all day long. We ended up staying over four hours. If you're coming from far, they have designated parking for a discount, but definitely check their website first. This time, we parked across at Crown Multi Parking and only paid $15 since we arrived before lunch and left around 4 pm. Their membership is worth buying especially if you have a little and wants to come for few hours. I highly recommend.

Wonderful exhibit, loved how interactive it was and lots for many different age groups, walking through the tunnel aquarium with big sharks and rays swimming above you is excellent. Penguins were the best part. Food quite reasonably priced wrap very yummy (chips too)

My partner took me here for a surprise date! He knows I love fish… it was perfect. I would recommend getting tickets in advance because it’s cheaper and if your students too there is a discount. The aquarium itself is quite large and the area where you can touch the starfish was nice. Although I feel bad about going to aquariums I think it’s nice to inform the general population about ecosystems that are in danger and how to help them as common people. I think fish are quite the underestimated and not so seen importance of our earth. I’m happy to see animals but it makes me sad to see them in enclosures. I hope that Sealife is an active participant in the ocean life and contributes in helping with the destruction of our earth.

The aquarium is much larger than I expected, and its strongest feature is the jellyfish zone, genuinely stunning and almost hypnotic to watch. The penguin exhibit is also engaging, helped by the addition of a fun 4D cinema experience. That said, there are several drawbacks. The souvenir prices are noticeably inflated, often around 40% higher than what you’d find elsewhere. Some of the larger tanks feel surprisingly empty, with fewer fish than you’d expect in a space that size. The overall variety of marine life is a bit limited, and there aren’t many interactive activities to keep the experience dynamic.

Was a nice experience. takes around 2 hours to go through the whole aquarium. My criticism of it from when I went to this aquarium when it first opened and then 5 years ago is that they have way less marine life now. Not sure of it’s a cost cutting measure or for animal welfare? Some of the tanks looked amazing and some had 3 fish in them for example. And lots of walking around with big open spaces but would prefer more tanks of marine life.

Visited State Library Victoria, a stunning blend of history and knowledge in the heart of Melbourne. The domed La Trobe Reading Room is breathtaking, and the historic architecture combined with modern galleries makes it a perfect spot to explore or enjoy some quiet time. Fun fact: it’s Australia’s oldest public library, established in 1854.

We made a special trip to this library, which is reputed to be the most beautiful. Sorry, but I didn’t borrow a single book, as I came purely to see this stunning architecture. Looking up at the double-height space, you can feel a sense of spacious, pressure-free openness. Many tourists kept taking photos, even as closing time approached. The staff repeatedly reminded everyone that it was time to leave, yet many were still reluctant to go. This alone speaks volumes about the charm of this place. Perhaps it’s not that no one was borrowing books, but the simple, substantial, and grand spatial beauty is truly unforgettable.

When we were in Melbourne, we visited State Library Victoria, one of the oldest and most beautiful libraries in the world. The La Trobe Reading Room with its white dome ceiling is absolutely magnificent — peaceful, bright, and full of charm. Many tourists go up to Level 5 and 6 for the best photo spots overlooking the dome. Free entry, open to everyone — definitely a must-visit when you’re in Melbourne!

Honestly so impressive. Loved the exhibition spaces, could wander for hours. Note there was wait time to take the lifts up/down to look down at the upper levels of the dome as there is no option to take stairs, so this does get crowded. Might be better on a weekday.

Melbourne city library is the iconic site I feel the most impressed about the city. Full of cultures, paintings, artworks and writing works here. I had the most relaxed and enjoyed moments here on the weekend. Perfect.

Melbourne Museum is an absolute gem! We visited after lunch with my son, and even in just a few hours, we had an incredible time. This is a place where kids (and adults!) can learn so much in a fun and engaging way — you could easily spend a full day exploring. The dinosaur exhibition was a highlight for us, packed with fascinating displays and information that really capture children’s curiosity. We also loved the insect area, which was both educational and surprisingly fun to explore. Everything is well-presented, interactive, and perfect for sparking young minds. Adults tickets are $15, and kids go free, making it fantastic value for families. I recommend booking online to avoid the queues. We’ll definitely be back for a full-day visit next time!

An awesome experience! The Star Wars Lego exhibition was super easy to access and really simple to navigate. There are plenty of activities throughout, for both kids and adult fans. It’s a great outing for families as well as die-hard Star Wars and LEGO fans. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend checking it out!

Pretty cool place tbh. The Melbourne Museum is huge — like, you could easily get lost in there. Loved the dinosaur section and the First Peoples exhibit, super interesting and well done. There’s also a kids area that looked fun even if you’re not a kid lol. Some parts felt a bit dated though, and a few displays could use more interactive stuff or better lighting. But overall, it’s a chill spot to spend a few hours and learn a bunch of random cool things. Would def recommend if you’ve got some free time in Melbourne.

I took my granddaughter to the Halloween at the Museum on the afternoon of Oct31st. We came a little early so we had to wait to enter. It was such an exciting event for my granddaughter…and for me. Kids in costume as well as the adults. The activities for the kids were great and we enjoyed looking at the gallery in the dark. It was fantastic. Parking in the basement was handy. Staff were friendly but not quite knowledgeable of the wheres and whats that night. Still, I will recommend this museum and this particular event. Its a must see and must attend!

We had the best experience at the museum. We went there when there was the Lego Exhibition on Star Wars - the creation were insanely good! There was also a rainforest in the museum - we went in to have a look. We saw the T-Rex show at the iMax theatre too. We had so, so much fun. Absolutely recommend a visit - more than worth the day and money.

This review is only about current special exhibition: Treasures of the Viking Age -The Galloway Hoard. The Galloway Hoard discovered in 2014 had 100 items, a small but very significant find. However, what is exhibited here is a lot less, museum blurb states about 90 pieces but it does look significantly less. The items are spread out in sections - entrances like Viking doorways & "padded" with massive graphics via video & static projections, albeit immersively displayed & easy to digest. The superstars of the Hoard - the small silver vessel with lid, the tiny crystal jar covered with elaborate goldwork & one more item - are all 3D-printed replicas. The reason - too fragile to be transported. I really liked the presentation & background on how the hoards were buried, the trade & marauding routes traversed by Viking warlords that enabled procurement of precious metals from far away lands along the Silk Route. But disingenuous inclusion of other discoveries is not necessary. I would rather hear more about why hoarding was so prevalent 1000 years ago or did I miss this bit? There is enough original intricate pieces that makes this exhibition worthwhile - artefacts like the Silver Cross with the fine spiral chain, intricate armbands (make great copies for olde fashion wrist watches!) & the elaborate brooches. But, but (& the reason for my 3 star review) - Where are the replicas of Vikings - both men & women, depicting how these wonderful ancient antiquities were adorned/worn? This would have really showcased the the wealth of the warlords & their treasured heirlooms..✨️✨️

It's an interesting place with a lot of history. The staff are friendly and seem to enjoy their work. The actress/guide on the night in particular was very good. The Ghosts! What ghosts? Tour wasn't what you'd call scary in any way but it was very interesting.

Highly recommend add on just $5 dollars for watch house experience and you can see more old gaol not just the experience itself! The staff there are all super friendly. I missed the watch house experience for the first time so they let me go at another day just for it and I didn’t have to buy the ticket again! (The last time is at 15:45) Had a really great time there✨

My partner and I attended the 'Ghosts? What Ghosts?' guided tour, lead by a great storyteller Janette. I loved the experience and stories told, as well as the images we saw along the way. Loved being guided in the dark, added to the atmosphere. Overrall very very happy with our experience, loved it!

It was my first time attending a Halloween event, and it was a lot of fun. It would be even better if there were more interactive elements and little surprises in the decorations.

The sergeant arrested and "searched" us. He told us to surrender our contraband. We were told not to smile but we did! I enjoyed the commentary and looking around.

Curated trails to Mason Fall viewing platform but can t find any trail down to the fall. It's about a 3km hike to Sugarloaf Summit but really can t see anything afar with the tree cover and on cloudy and foggy days. You can drive to the Sugar loaf summit instead of hiking via the broad ridge trail which would be uneven terrain(stoney).

Loved this place. Great little walk to the platform lookout, fairly easy although there is a little hill and may be slippery in wet weather. We were blesses with sunny skies. There is a lot of bird life and songs. The sound of the flowing water is beautiful. A really tranquil place and glad to have deviated from my usual Healesville and Marysville expedition. The car park is clean and toilets too. Yes it is important. There are picnic benches ans BBQ facilities. Really cute little spot. Plenty of hikers making their way through the National Park although overall it was quiet for a school holidays.

It is a great picnic area with plenty of tables and seats as well as some BBQ's. Good sized parking area. Toilets available onsite. Some good walking tracks.

Absolutely beautiful, even when not a lot of water flowing. The lyrebird circuit is a stunning walk and love all the info plaques along the way.

A very easy walk for anyone who is as unfit as I am. It’s very quick to get to the waterfall, but watch your footing when you get down there. If you’re lucky and it’s a quiet day when there aren’t many screaming children around, you might even be lucky enough to spot a bird or two on the walk. They have electric barbecues and plenty of picnic tables, but I do think they need hooks on the back of the doors in the toilet, so that hikers can put their backpack on the door when using the facilities!!!

Such a warm cozy spot! Most restaurants are cold, and feel uncomfortable. However, it was warm inside, even whilst raining outside. Extremely impressed with our food and drinks today. We ordered a bruschetta pizza and meat lovers pizza. Both were delicious, booked perfectly and had great flavour. We also had a watermelon, and strawberry juice. This was the highlight of my meal, and I will definitely be coming here again for food.

This pizza was an absolute delight from the moment the box was opened. The crust, with its perfectly charred, bubbly edges, promised an authentic wood- fired experience. It was light yet sturdy enough to hold the generous toppings. The base sauce was a vibrant, fresh tomato that wasn't overpowering, and the cheese-creamy mozzarella with a delightful melt complemented it beautifully. The star of the show was the combination of thinly sliced prosciutto and a fresh pile of peppery arugula. The salty, savory prosciutto contrasted wonderfully with the bright, slightly bitter greens, creating a complex and incredibly balanced flavor profile. A drizzle of olive oil, visible on the cheese, added a final, rich touch. Every bite was a perfect mix of textures and flavors: the satisfying chew of the crust, the soft cheese, and the crisp bite of the arugula. It's clear a lot of care went into making this pizza, and it truly pays off. This is a must-try for anyone who appreciates quality ingredients and a classic Italian flavor combination. l'd highly recommend it!

Had lunch at Base on Sunday, we ordered the chicken Parmigiana, steak sandwich and kids cheese pizza. My chicken Parmigiana was very nicely cooked, good portions with chips and salad, salad could of had more dressing on it. The steak sandwich was filling and bursting with flavours. Cheese pizza was just like how my son likes it and good portion size too. Service was good.

Tried Base for the first time to have brunch on a Sunday morning. It was starting to be busy. Staff were very accommodating, the food came quick with good portions and great flavour. Will definitely come back to try the other food on the menu.

We recently celebrated our son’s 21st birthday in the function room at Base, and everything was perfect from start to finish. The service was outstanding, the food was beautifully prepared with generous portions, and everything was absolutely delicious. My now husband, Francis, and I recently had our wedding at Kinglake Forest on 8 March 2025. Our experience with the staff at Kinglake, especially Donna, was incredible! As we all know, weddings can be overwhelming and at times stressful, but working with the team at Forest Weddings felt like a breeze. They made the process of wedding planning fun and enjoyable. We can look back on it fondly, and that to us is priceless. Donna was extremely organised. Being organised people ourselves, we felt reassured knowing that the team had our back. Their communication was seamless and clear at all times. We are so grateful to be able to look back on the wedding planning process and smile. The wedding day was the best day of our lives! Donna worked with us perfectly, ensuring we were comfortable and driving us up and down with the buggy. She made us feel calm and relaxed with her positive attitude. We knew we had made the right decision when we chose Kinglake Forest as our wedding venue. Sometimes, it is not even about the place—it is the people and the team you trust that make the difference. Awesome fun. My son and I loved it. The staff were very patient to encourage my son to finally step of the edge of the tree top and down the zip line. It’s a huge step for him overcoming a fear of heights.

Awesome place for a school camp or group camp if you want to bring people closer together. I had such a great time and challenged myself in many differnet ways. Thanks to Ben, Alex, James, Liam, Ewan, Biz and all the kitchen staff for planning and preparing everything and for making things run smoothly even thought the weather did not want to cooperate. It really was an amazing camp and I hope to go back there some time in the future.

The team was 10/10 - had so much fun, learnt a lot about myself and my colleagues on a work trip! The kitchen staff made food that was faultless!!! I would say the only this I wanted more of was… my time there! Thank you to everyone, special shout-out to Hammo, our “elder”, who allowed me to grow so much! The three days we spent at KFAC was unforgettable! 👌🏼🤩

Had the most amazing day today. Staff so friendly and helpful - patient with my fear of heights so that I was able to successfully accomplish some high rope activities. Did a bike course which was fun and the surrounding bush is a beautiful environment to be in. Grabbed an electric bike later to try and tackle some big hills! Great day!

It had been a very long time since my last visit to the water park, so I wasn't sure what to expect. However, this time was truly more fun, absolutely fantastic, and genuinely amazing! It was completely different from my last experience. The rides were exhilarating, the atmosphere was vibrant, and I made some fantastic memories. I hope to enjoy the attraction again in the future!

Pleasantly surprised by the upkeep of the park. Good mix of wet and dry rides. Plenty of picnicking options. Would recommended taking your own food as super expensive onsite. Showers and changing rooms very clean. Went off peak and there were no lines.

came on a monday and park wasn’t busy that busy, except there was a bit of waiting at the bigger rides. i spent a last day with my bf here before going on a 3 month long trip overseas and was some of the best fun i had in months. the only thing is that it’s fairly far out to a lot of places, being in whittlesea, tickets are also somewhat pricey

When we went there it was temporarily closed because 17 schools were there but other than that it was pretty cool. Would love to come back here again. And the food was served was pretty delicious

We were meant to celebrate my son’s birthday at the park last weekend, but unfortunately the weather had other plans. I just wanted to share how impressed I was with the team for making the call to cancel the day before, it was thoughtful, proactive and really appreciated. Zac was so lovely on the phone and very professional. We’ve been to Funfields are few times over the years and can’t wait to re-book my son’s party and get back there when the weather is better. Highly recommend.

The new addition of the Lazy River, bumper cars and VIP Huts really add a whole new dimension to this park ! The Huts are well worth the extra money - it felt so private and comfortable with lounges and even a fridge to keep the drinks cold ! The shade and the location really do make them priceless. Kids can’t wait to go back again 🥰

It was great day with kids , plenty of parking , great seats and tables inside the theme park , take your own food and drink , spent the whole day picnic and play, should definitely visit again when open for next season

Always an incredible experience! I've been coming here for 10 years and my mum did before me with her parents too. Staff are lovely, horses are gorgeous and the whole atmosphere is magical!

Was a very good experience, horses are docile, staffs are friendly and supportive. Boots, jackets, bum bags provided. Wild animals could be seen, kangaroos, rabbits, and even peacock. Strongly recommend to take the 3 hour ride, 2 hours definitely not enough to find your fun.

Great fun day. This was an anniversary present. The horses are great and well looked after. Lots of parking. They can supply bum bags, boots and helmets. Your welcome to take you own. The start took roughly an hour to get everyone on there horses, so be prepared to sit on them for a while. Abit of paper work to do at the start. Nice little trails through the bush. We picked the 3 hour afternoon ride. We got to stop at a little house on the hill overlooking everywhere, we had coffee, cordial and biscuits. With a much needed toilet break. People were helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

Amazing experience! It was a present for my fiancé’s birthday, and we loved it! It was my first horse ride, so I was a bit nervous, but all the staff were very friendly and helpful. In our group, we had a mother and daughter as our coaches. They shared stories with us, which made our riding experience even more special. We will be back ❤️lovely!

Was an amazing experience, the people working there are so kind. We had never ridden horses before, but the team made it easy to learn. There’s the option to be picked up from Wallan Station making it easy with PTV.

Where do I begin? Wonderful day out for my friends birthday. I was paired with ANZAC(the horse) who was a well mannered gentleman throughout the ride. We were hot to trot and saw a roo, a bunny and an echidna.

This was one of the best experiences I had... I went on the 3-hour trail ride and the staff there made sure everyone was given horses according to their ability and made sure everyone was comfortable with them.... The staff were just lovely - they talked to each one of us and asked about if we were comfortable or not. The way the staff handled beginner riders and experienced riders separately was so good. they made sure that the beginners were sent first and the experienced to canter behind them. I would go this place every 2 weeks from now on cause the pricing for this 3 hour ride was worth every penny of the experience.
