One of the well known parks to visit in Western Australia. It has plenty of sites and attractions to visit, such as Tractor Museum of WA, Caversham Wildlife Park, and many more. There is also a cafe nearby, and there are also playgrounds. It’s best to get here by car, as they provide parking spot as well. Getting here using public transport is still accessible, but it requires a 20-30 minute walk to get to the park from the bus/train station.

Came to watch the Tarmac Rally event. The park is wonderful has great facilities, there is something for everyone. I had a coffee from the cafe and it was fabulous, Flat White extra shot perfection. Some photos of the Rally. I will be back to check out the Motor Museum.

Whiteman Park is such a beautiful and well-kept place! The park is super clean, with plenty of parking and lots of space to explore. There are so many cool things to do — from walking trails to wildlife areas — and the play places are absolutely amazing for kids. It’s the perfect spot for a family day out or just to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Highly recommend visiting!

Beautifil space. Lovely for family outings, picnic or BBQ. Really need a car to get there as the only public transport was train but it didn't go into the Village. Used the Tram, but missed the return trip which took a hour to walk through bush.

Excellent complex. I like the concept of free entry and paying for the different attractions that interest you. Great for families and there were a few birthday parties happening. Everyone appeared to be having fun. There is even a swimming pool. I ran out of time to see the wildlife but I enjoyed the museums. They even have reduced prices for seniors like me. 😂 Definitely recommend. Go early and enjoy everything that the park has to offer.

Visited the car museum and WOW! what an experience. A nostalgic experience with tons to look at. Volunteers were there on their time to show you everything.

Great and enjoyable experience! There are three museums and it's also link to Caversam Wildlife Park so you can enjoy one trip with different purposes. Furthermore, we enjoyed the tram which operates by a volunteer, please thank him for his great service. We did the pedal-karting which you can enjoy another traveling experience within the park.

A must go for all visitors to Perth! This is the main outlet at Swan valley. Ample parking. I liked the free flow of chocolate bits. Simply delicious. Friendly service. There is also a cafe within selling ice cream and coffee. An experience not to be missed. Highly recommended! Thumbs up!

Not sure what to do on a lazy weekend? Head up to Swan Valley and treat yourself at the Margaret River Chocolate Factory. Their hot chocolate is uniquely rich and delicious, a must-try for any chocolate lover. A perfect little escape when you just want to unwind and indulge.

A very good place to get the best local chocolate. They have wide variety of chocolate products, many flavors of rocky bars, etc. Friendly staff and nice cafe, too. Children friendly.

I ordered A dark hot chocolate with tasted decent, nothing extraordinary. However, the atmosphere was pretty peaceful, clean nice seating areas and a big lawn for kids to play, and I went on a sunny day so that was a plus. The Providore next door had some interesting jam, liquor and syrup.

A chocolate store that sells huge selection of chocolate products, from chocolate bars, chocolate drinks, and many more. They also offer free chocolate taste tests if you want to try their variety of chocolate. Definitely worth buying their good tasting products, although the products can be slightly pricy.

You can sit down, eat and drink here. Not just shopping for chocolates. We should've spent a bit more time here. Lovely, spacious and super clean, I love it. Must come back.

We took family that visited Perth for the first time here. Due to time constraints we didn’t get to take them to Margaret River, but we took them to this chocolate factory, which was amazing for them. There are chocolate buds for tasting, they are melt in your mouth chocolate buds- so yummy! I underrated it at first, but once you start you can’t stop. They have single artisan chocolates for sale and also ice cream, which was a hit for the kids. They have tables so if you wanted to have some coffee, you can grab a table to sit and chill, while others shop for chocolates ^_* It was great as my family bought some chocolates for gifts back home.

Fabulous, they couldnt do enough for us to have a great day. Its was my aunties 97th birthday, and my Mum walks like a penguin so the logistics werent good but they were so kind and thoughtful and that made the day even better. Thank you

Love the menu that changes each season, always tastes just as great as it looks… service always great even during busy periods. Only downside occasions like mothers day can be a bit pricey for a limited fixed menu.

I like Outback Splash as it's not too big. It has something for everyone. The little kids have Octopus Bay, there's also splash Island with safer slides, tipping buckets etc. The bigger kids & adults have the 4 big slides at the back. Theres the lagoon which has a pool and ample seating plus a bar & food service. Other attractions to keep the kids amused include giant chess, mini golf, timber maze, tyre maze, hedge maze. There is a small playground. Lots of beautiful grassed open areas. Numerous food outlets such as burger Bar, snack shack & the pool house or set up a spot on the grass & bring your own picnic. You can bring your own shade or hire one of the many they have on offer such as picnic shades, huts, cabanas, marquee etc. There are lockers to hire for valuables and toilets and change rooms. Heaps of free parking out the front. A great day out!

Best experience in Australia for a water park environment. We visited on a quiet day (just got lucky). All the rides are very adventurous (our favourite was called “blackout”) Bravo to all the lifeguards who did make us feel safe. The only thing they need to improve is to have heated pools during cold temperatures to make all the visitors feel cozy and make their day. Definitely coming back again. You can bring your gazebo if you want to save your money by not booking expensive cabanas. We did use a tent (you can bring gazebo like everyone, depending on your needs).

EPIC! First time visiting for our 2 year olds birthday. But really the 4 year old had the time of his life. Not only are the kids slides so fun and a great set up there’s heaps of grass to set up and the gardens are gorgeous. You need the whole day and more!

This is SUCH a fun place! We loved the new 'The Lagoon' and its deep-water swimming pool areas. When the warmer weather comes around, I know it'll be super popular! We also love that all the different parts of Outback Splash are all close together, so it doesnt take long to walk from one fun area to another :) We cant wait to return in the summer!

Best family day out! We have been going to Outback Splash for years and it is even better now with the inclusion of the lagoon pool. The kids love the water slides and there’s always lots of shade, the pool bar is the perfect spot for a cheeky cocktail 🍹 Can’t wait to spend all summer here!

Great fun for the whole family, went on Thursday. The kids big and small loved the waterslides. We went with a group of kids from 2-10 everyone had a great time. Beautiful grass areas, immaculately clean bathrooms. Great pool area and swim up bar (closed in the day we went but looked amazing) Seen some Koalas played Mini golf and had some ice cream! Fantastic place for many reasons. Lovely Orchard walks all year, seasonal fruit picking, great cafe & really good local produce from chocolate, preserves, local yumminess generally…if you love the local stuff..dont hesitate. Coffees awesome too.

Raeburn Orchards in Roleystone is an absolute delight. My sister recently moved to the area and insisted we stop in on the way home — and I’m so glad we did. The gift and gourmet food store is beautifully curated and full of unique finds. We picked up some nougat and Dubai chocolate while browsing for a gift, and ended up just enjoying the whole experience. It’s such a peaceful, scenic spot — perfect for grabbing a coffee and a treat while soaking up the surroundings. A real hidden gem that I’ll definitely be visiting again.

A fabulous visit with the bright trees in autumn colour. Row after row of coloured trees, persimmons and pomegranates. They grow a variety of stone and seed fruit and can't wait to come back in September for the blossom. There's a great cafe with desserts and coffee, along with sales of local Artisan food and craft products. Whilst the cafe and shop is accessible, your wheelchair will need 4wd capability to walk around the orchard. It was quite muddy when we were there, bringing gumboots next time.

Came here in the winter and glad the shop is open for business. There have seasonal fruits, mandarins, pink apples, avocados and several others. They have honey, jams and many others too. The cafe serves great coffee, tea and cakes. Staffs are very friendly. Indoor is quite spacious and few outdoor tables. Recommended a planned visit.

Absolutely gorgeous! This orchad is in the western side of Perth, attracting lots of people especially on the weekend. There's a show room at the front which you can purchase their products. Lots of variety with reasonable prices. The orchard entry is $5; however, you are immersed with lots of beautiful spots to have a memorable pictures. Lots of food on the trees; however, you can pick them. There are a few local food cart around which you can buy food from there. It's a good spot to spend a time and picnic with friends and family. Carpark is a bit challenging during high pick but it's worth it. There a small cafe inside of the show room which they make an excellent coffee.

Our wedding at Araluen Estate was absolutely perfect! The venue itself is stunning – with picturesque views and beautiful landscapes that provided the ideal backdrop for our celebration. We received so many compliments from our guests about how beautiful and serene the location was, and it truly made our day feel even more special. The BBQ food was a major highlight! It was incredibly delicious, with flavours that impressed everyone. It was just perfect for the casual yet elegant vibe we wanted. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about it! A special thank you to Erin, the event manager, who made everything run smoothly. She was so helpful and always readily available to assist with whatever we needed. Her professionalism and attention to detail were a huge comfort, and we really appreciated how she went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly as we had hoped. Overall, Araluen Estate exceeded all our expectations. It was the perfect venue for our wedding, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stunning and memorable location for their special day!

A wonderful course set in beautiful surroundings. Our first time playing here, we were met with happy and helpful staff when booking in. The course is long and the greens were very fast indeed. Plentiful wildlife makes the course feel one with nature. You definitely need a cart to play this course as there are sometimes long distances between holes, and a minor note some directional signage to the next hole would be helpful. We paid $85 per person for a four ball with shared carts. Some people might see this as expensive but I think it was worth every cent. Will return soon!

We HIGHLY recommend Araluen as a wedding venue. It is the most beautiful, picturesque place. We were married on the 9th lawn and it was such a beautiful backdrop, but all of the ceremony spots are simply gorgeous, and going off for photos around the course was stunning! The food was incredible, all our guests were raving about it. The staff were so kind and sweet and looked after us all night. To top it all off the events manager Erin is the most incredible person you will ever meet. The amount of times just having a conversation with her made me feel at ease during the planning process was invaluable. Do yourself a favour and choose Araluen as your wedding venue. Araluen has always been included in our itinerary whenever we golf WA in the Fall. The rolling terrain, challenging 9th, signature 16th, and the autumn 🍂 colours of the closing tree-lined 17th and 18th, combine to make golfing Araluen, a wonderful day in the great outdoors. Wind is always in play. The fairways are wide and well maintained. The greens are not too fast, but true. Only reason for the missing star is that the bunkers don’t appear to have been raked, like forever!! E-booking was easy, with several pricing options based on tee times, seniors rate, etc.

Our September wedding at Araluen Estate was everything we could have dreamt of and more! I highly recommend having both your ceremony and reception at this venue. Erin and the team were great to deal with from start to finish, every detail of our day was perfect. We had upgraded to the cocktail menue & we are so glad we did as all of our guests were full by the end of the night and the food was delish. No complaints at all 1000000/10 Thankyou so much guys 🩷🩷

We had an awesome time on our wedding day 20/09/2025. Nothing was too difficult to sort for us, thank you so much to Erin and her staff, special mention to our lovely waitress who got compliments from our guests for her service on the night. We cannot recommend Araluen Golf Estate enough for a Wedding and Erin predicted no rain on the day and there was nothing but incredible weather.

Even with cloudy skies, we had an amazing time at Perth Observatory! The tour was fascinating—full of insights about Perth’s role in space exploration and the observatory’s rich history. The staff were knowledgeable and passionate, and we learned so much despite the weather not cooperating. We’ll definitely be back on a clear night for some stargazing!

Staff members are very friendly and passionate to guide us to view different stars , and free hot chocolate and cookies are provided at the end of tour. However, if dense clouds stay in the sky, you cannot see stars clearly.

It's a lovely experience that you get to see the night skies as you wouldn't have the opportunity if you live in the city. The experience with the telescopes and detailed explanation by the staff makes it a very meaningful experience. You will look at the stars in a different light. Kudos to the volunteers for the wonderful night. Oh they made it kids friendly too.

Awesome place day and night! Interesting museum and shop. We were lucky to be part of a group who camped overnight. Nice walk through area during the day observing the wildflowers and reading the information signs outside the various buildings. At night there is a golf buggy to drive you up to the various observatories. We opted to walk. We got a chance to see Saturn, the moon and various star clusters. It was a full moon which was great but difficult to see some stars as the moon was too bright. The volunteers were very knowledgeable. Afterwards we had a BBQ, great music and sat around a camp fire. Great experience! 👍👍👍

We included the Perth Observatory in our tour of the Bickley Valley on a Saturday afternoon. We were immediately greeted by lovely volunteers and opted to do a day tour with our family of 5 (2 adults, 15yo, 12yo, 6yo).We were guided by Patrick, who was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. Our family had a great time viewing the telescopes and learning about the history and the role Perth has played in some monumentous scientific endeavours. We are looking forward to returning for a night sky tour soon!

One of my favourite places in Perth :) - Plenty of picnic spots - bins and bench areas - heaps of stairs for fitness finatics - beautiful rose garden - full of kangaroos! - beautiful view - fun walkway over the weir :) - full of helpful historic maps and plaques to find out how the weir came to be - interesting historic buildings :)

A project once made fun of now stands as one of the most important places in WA history.When Nature's beauty and man's creativity gets merged, wonders get created .Such a wonder was built between 1898-1903 for the purpose of transporting water to the Easter Goldfields of Kalgoorile. The dam is now under the Water Corporation of WA and their website provides information about the dam details such as facilities,Opening hours , direction etc. https://www.watercorporation.com.au/About-us/Visiting-our-dams/Mundaring-Weir The No1 Pump Station is a great place to learn about the incredible early engineering technology that they had used to pump water nearly 600km from Mundaring Weir to the Goldfields. This place is really a must see and one of the beautiful places to know more about heritage, to take wonderful pictures of scenery and even spend time with family or friend groups. https://youtu.be/c3O16ZOH0Eg The place have picnic areas, public toilets and walking trails. This project once called as "Scheme Of Madness" was designed by Thomas Crowley Hodgson and was brought to life by an Engineer in Chief C.Y.O'Connor. At present day the weir supplies water to the Eastern Goldfields and Agricultural region. The walking trail experience throug the Weir , lawns and gardens are really a great experience to get to the historical importance of this place. The Mundaring Weir now forms a part of the Goldfields Water Supply Scheme or The Golden Pipeline.

The Mundaring dam is a top local attraction and just 15 minutes from the Mundaring town site. There are panoramic photo opportunities during a crossing of the dam wall. On one side is the picturesque reservoir and on the other the heritage pumping station with its tall chimney stack. A less explored area can be discovered at the far end of the dam wall (coming from Mundaring Weir Road). A steepish descent, down a series of steps (with handrail) to the base of the dam wall, leads visitors to the pumping station (100m). A tranquil place surrounds the museum with a few rest benches under some shady trees. There is also an interesting electronic meter that turns over / counts - every time 1000 litres of dam water is used in Kalgoorlie (located nearby the pumping station museum). The Mundaring Weir park area is extensive and perfect for BBQ's with a number of designated areas complete with stove tops. There is an abundance of majestic trees (many varieties). A natural habitat for birdlife and the perfect place for a relaxing stroll. A few friendly kangaroos are always out and about.

Nice place to drive and cycle to. There are kangaroos, free fruit and a weir that supplies drinking water for Perth. Also there is the story and the bust of C.Y O'Connor. An engineer that supplied the goldfields with liquid gold (water). There is also a rose garden in the middle of nowhere, a great plethora of colours is observed during spring and a bit of summer. It is an awesome walk along the top of the weir.

A wonderful place to visit on the Perth Hills, having the state’s one of the most important engineering structures, access to the weir overseeing the idyllic C Y O’ Connor lake, plenty of walk trails and benches through the greenery of wild flowers and trees. Large number of gas top barbecue facilities along with separate toilets for male, female, disabled on both sides (west and east) of the weir. Several water fountains nicely positioned, offering quick rehydration and a splash on the face on a hot day. We were lucky enough to have been greeted by a family of kangaroos in the bush to the east of the rose garden. The viewing area to the south of the C Y O’Connor Memorial offers a splendid view of the both sides of the weir. One caution; be aware of mosquitoes and flies in the afternoon.

The hidden walk trail on this reserve is seasonally abundant in wildflowers, wattles, parrotbush & orchids. It boasts fantastic views across the valley from the lookout at the top of the trail. Apart from the formed walk trail there are also two firebreaks that can be traversed, with care. The firebreak to the west of the picnic area is relatively flat until reaching a steep hill. It offers a wonderful wildflower viewing opportunity for those not inclined to tackle the steps of the traditional walktrail.

The walk was well sign-posted and relatively easy to follow with only one fork in the road that is a little confusing. Some parts are a little tricky / steep but the overall walk is about 20min. The look out is actually past the top of the ridge and a little to the East. Good views.

Lovely walk! We really enjoyed it, there's posts numbered 1-10 along the trail to guide you along the way, and little information posts also. It probably took us about 40 minutes up and back. No wild flowers this time of year, I bet it's really beautiful with all the flowers out!

A regular visitor since its inception. A peaceful place to recharge the batteries. BE still. Find peace here, amongst buzzing bees, chirping birds, and tall, shady trees. Recalibrate, self care, Forrest bathing. Healthy place to be amongst nature. Great place for a picnic .

Easy short bush walk amongst birds and wildflowers, up a hill to a 360 view of rolling farmland and natural bushland.

Nice hidden gem. Wish there were clearer path allocations as some roads split with no indication to which path to follow. Would not advise to go in August as all flowers were dead.

Such a good walking trail for wildflowers! From the parking lot you can start from multiple paths, and it's all signposted with maps along the way too. We were lucky enough to spot the rare blue sun orchid that looks like a penguin :) Warning: The Djidi-Djidi track is quite narrow with lots of spikey bushes overhanging most of the way, so wear long pants if you don't want to get spiked. The other tracks are fairly wide though! Super clean 2x long drop toilets are available :)

Beautiful, tidy and a quiet place to go and enjoy camping or even a day visit . Nice paths to go for a walk. Good spot for kids to have a swim.

With plenty of parking and a grass area, pack a picnic and head to Lake Leschenaultia. Good spot for family and friends get together, especially if you have children. There is a barrier in place for swimmers. Outside the barrier seen paddlers on paddle boards and kayaking.

This location was an incredible experience for both our family and friends. We enjoyed an entire day immersed in activities. This is an ideal spot for camping. The kids had a blast swimming, and the highlight was renting a kayak. 30-minute or 1-hour sessions priced at $16 and $26 respectively. Needless to say, we're looking forward to making this a frequent destination.

Fantastic place for a drive, picnic or whole day out. Great facilities, very clean, lots of grass areas and shaded areas. BBQs available too, plus a shop. Bring bikes and water craft and spend the day relaxing.

Lovely place for a family day out. Pack a picnic or usethe BBQ provided there ( do get busy so may have to wait your turn) dedicated swim area in the fresh water lake but has sand like a beach to enter. Playground is there but the old cafe isn't open anymore so make sure you take own food and drinks. Limited seating is there so go early or take chairs ect.

Lovely information centre. The young lady that served me with my ticket to the Mill was so bright & enthusiastic. The Connors Mill was very enjoyable $6.50 for Adult or $ 4.50 concessions. Great little township

Toodyay is pronounced Too-jay. Super friendly and helpful staff. Thank you for recommending both museums and the all year-round christmas shop. It's a very nice town 1 hour away from Perth. Don't forget to pick up a souvinier coin for memory. Highly recommended to visit.

Great little Goal. Exhibits where good. Well kept museum. Little bears scattered around for you and the children to find.

A well restored Gaol with lots of information about the history of the town as well as the Gaol. It’s very well laid out and dog and children friendly, they provide a treasure hunt for the children to do while walking around and dogs are allowed in if well behaved and on a leash. It was very busy the day we went so be prepared to wait outside the tiny cells for others to finish reading the information boards and looking at the displays.

The Newcastle Gaol Museum is a former prison complex famous for one of its former residents, Moondyne Joe. The self guided tour takes you around the facility which is full of information of living in Toodyay during the early settlement times. There is also some acknowledgements to former residents during that time. For the kids there is an exciting mouse hunt where they explore and fine the toy mice hidden around the exhibits. Tickets are very reasonabley priced, limited packing roadside.

A great little part of history. Make sure you have a bit of time to wander through all the buildings here. Definitely worth a look around and to watch the feature video that they do show from the history

It's actually an old prison with court which now been transformed to a museum. Had some cool stuff to offer with stories of some old Toodyay residents and their way of life. Enjoyed the visit. Recommended. Also police horses stable is just across the road. There's a public toilet as well.

Honour system - $7 Museum inside old gaol. Cells were small museum rooms, but mostly, not prisoner related ... more local history based. Interesting video about corrections in the local area.

Great, I sentenced my grandad to 1 year in solitary confinement only getting bread and water. I sentenced him to life in prison for burning off my tases buds when I drink his boiling hot, hot Milo's! He tried to escape, but little does he know... He can't escape me 😈 He said "I'm not guilty, I'm innocent! I've been framed!" And I said "yeah, yeah. That's what they all say. Take him away, guard!" I think I served him right! (Btw, that line on the script that said "is this the weapon you used?" I changed it to the Milo jar and pulled up the image on Google.) 🤣😅 Recommended!

Fantastic exposition about the migration of European 'Displaced Persons' as well as Souther Europeans to Australia from 1949 to 1965 elaborating on the background and challenges the migrants faced upon arrival.

Windward Ballooning was a fantastic experience. We had a very peaceful journey on a great day!! All of the ground staff & pilots were amazing and very lovely. The breakfast is the perfect way to finish the experience.

We had an amazing experience with Windward Ballooning! My partner organised it for my birthday, and it was the perfect way to celebrate. From the start, they ensured we were well-informed, and I felt very safe during the flight. If you're apprehensive about heights, this is an excellent first step to overcoming that fear. I highly recommend this wonderful experience. The champagne breakfast was a nice touch to conclude the adventure, although the food could have been better. Overall, the team at Windward did an excellent job!

My second flight with Windward in 3 years and honestly, there is nothing one can fault about a hot air balloon flight with these guys. The team at Windward (Brian, Shane and Brenton) are professional, friendy and go out of their way to ensure everyone has an epic experience. And Safety is paramount as well.... To top off an awesome flight we had a fully cooked breakfast at a local bistro in Northam. Could not have gone any better. If you haven't been up in a hot air balloon, you don't know what you're missing out on.

We had the most amazing morning! We were greeted by such a friendly lady for tea and coffee before Brendan, victor and Shane took us out to the most beautiful site where we seen the sunrise from a spectacular balloon. All the staff members worked so hard to give us an enjoyable, safe and memorable experience. Every question was answered with such thought and patience. The saftey briefings were spot on. The breakfast after was perfect and plentiful, even included great gluten free options! Could not recommend this enough and can’t thank the guys enough for all their help and for being so accomadting! Will definitely be back!

Fantastic memorable family experience. We were keen to do during Canola season, and it did not disappoint, the morning was perfect. We had about an hour in the balloon. A little icy on our feet, recommend wearing warm socks. Sven, our pilot was excellent, knowledgeable and we felt very safe. Windward was well organised, from booking to the great ground team all round from start to finish. Lovely breakfast to follow. Highly recommend.

Stunning building. We enjoyed a walk through almost the entire hall; you can try on costumes for photos. It's a lovely town and this is the crown.

An absolute beauty of a building, appreciate the interior such as the hall as much as you would appreciate the exterior. Definitely worth the stop.

The York Town Hall is now the visitors centre, which is open to the public. Come in and have a look and the original stage area and upper floor seating, the rooms around have history of York on the walls.

It was exceptionally, naturally beautiful place and met some lovely people

First stop on our York day trip. Beautiful to photograph with clean toilets. Also houses the visitor centre for information on York and surrounding areas.

We saw this place from opposite where we were having our lunch and decided to make a visit. We were able to pay for entrance tickets on the spot and thereafter entered the museum where we spent around 30mins or so enjoying the views of the various models of cars and vehicles that were displayed in there. It was an amazing experience to see the well maintained vehicles with some dating back to many many years ago! Our 2 kids thoroughly enjoyed the visit and we took many pics with the models. Worth a visit if you are in the area!

What a fantastic spot! The York Motor Museum is packed with treasures from the legendary Ford Model T and some seriously cool old motorbikes to a jaw-dropping 1958 Porsche Cabriolet. Every corner has something that makes you stop and go “wow.” The collection is beautifully kept, and the stories behind the cars make it even better. The staff are super friendly and clearly love what they do, which adds to the whole experience. Whether you’re a car nut or just curious, this place is a must-see when in York.

I got dragged in here by my elderly father, and I admittedly was not keen. We were greeted by Jenny who was a ray of sunshine! While I'm not a great car enthusiast the array of history on display was fascinating. But I absolutely loved the stories of the original owners showing the history of particular vehicles on display. Learning about the owner, what role they played in the community, and about their families, complete with photos. This so was a real treat and I credit to this historic town.

Very beautiful place to visit. Everywhere you look, you find something unique, old, and special from cars to small things like vintage fuel cans. Very well maintained, clean, and organized. We really enjoyed it. The lady at the entrance was very friendly. You can tell that the owner has really been collecting for years and years.

It truly is a great place to send 30mins to an hour wandering thru and seeing all the treasures that they hold. I even seen BRUM 🤣. " a little yellow car named Brum from a kids TV show"

This is a great museum and you don’t have to be a car fanatic to enjoy it. There are cars and bikes that you can admire just for their sheer beauty. They really knew how to design cars back in the day. Loved the little retro caravan too. I also enjoyed reading about past owners and their families and learning how the cars arrived at the museum. Friendly staff, cheap entry and you can take as long as you like. Well worth a visit.

I was on my way to wave rock so Put this on my stop list. Very cool bridge awesome to cross and if your game give it a shake it’s pretty fun. Parking on both sides and river views are amazing

The suspension bridge certainly does swing. Some wooden planks require maintenance and are lifting. Great views of the river and a small Church on reaching the other side (unfortunately the Church is locked during the week - open on Sundays).

Neat little suspension bridge just off the side of the nearby playground. We had a nice stroll across the bridge where we saw several campervans parked just across the river. Novel experience of walking on the suaying bridge! Lovely scenery all around...

This area has been updated recently. There is a large park with playground equipment for kids. There is also a relatively new public bathroom. Nice area for a picnic. I wish there were some eateries nearby for a coffee or snack. For these, you'd have to walk to the main street. The suspension bridge is a novelty. Be careful with your little kids when on the bridge.

It is a wonderful place to look the york city from top. You can easily park your car over there and enjoy the scenic beauty pf nature.

Mount Brown Lookout, offering a breathtaking view over the entire town of York. The vast landscape below made me feel as if the whole world was at my feet, evoking the spirit of a solo backpacker on a grand adventure.

From the top carpark there is an amazing 360degree lookout of all the canola fields, it's beautiful and worth the drive.

Oh my gosh I highly highly highly! recommended visiting York , Western Australia and heading up to the look out . The view is amazing 😍 I chose to visit when the canola fields are out and all the patches of yellow with the green is stunning!

Lovely lookout, as far as you can see you will see beautiful yellow canola fields.

As lookouts go, this was very good. Excellent views of York township and the extensive Canola padocks. Mind blowing if they weren't past the yellow flowering period.

Avondale is a modern working farm owned by the National Trust Australia Western Australia. Come and see for yourself what seasonal agricultural activities are being carried out in the Avon Valley. Avondale was one of the first farms surveyed in Beverley, and was granted to James Stirling in 1833. The property features many heritage buildings including 1850s homestead, 1920s silage silo, 1960s garage, and 1890s workshop. The property is permanently listed on the state heritage register. The farm also features an agricultural machinery museum. The collection spans 100 years of farming history in Western Australia. There is also a stable complex which was built in 1890, complete with horse works, chaff cutter, forge and Clydesdale horses. A fauna and flora reserve is being developed in a rare attempt to restore an area to its natural state after nearly 150 years of grazing. A walk trail is being developed to allow visitors sustainable access. You can also check out the historic homestead furnished in period style and set in traditional colonial gardens, or take the six kilometre farm drive trail and see what is really happening in the paddocks.

Avondale Research Station, comprising a single storey brick and corrugated iron Homestead (1880s) in the Victorian Georgian style, a vernacular single and double storey corrugated iron Stables (1890s), a vertical concrete Silo (1927), a single storey brick and iron former Laboratory (1930), workers dwellings (1928 and 1937), has cultural heritage significance for the following reasons: Established as a State Farm in 1919, the place has been a venue for agricultural research since 1924, and was the site of an important research project for braxy-like disease in sheep in the early 1930s, with the research Laboratory constructed specifically for the project; The place has a landmark quality within its picturesque rural landscape; The Stables dating from the 1890s feature very well-detailed timber horse stalls and roof structure, and are a rare example of innovative design; The place is valued for its role in agricultural research and education, borne out by the local community’s financial contribution to the establishment of the Laboratory in 1930 and the contribution of farm machinery for the Discovery Farm museum in 1979; The various components that comprise the place demonstrate specific government initiatives in the establishment and the subsequent development of the place as a site of agricultural research and a showcase of rural work and life; The Avondale property was one of the earliest pastoral properties established in the Beverley district and the farm’s development since 1830 has been indicative of and contributed to the development of the area; and, The place contributes to the local and wider community’s sense of place for its links to the early settlement of the Avon Valley and for its ongoing contribution to agricultural research and education in the State.

Western Australia's best kept secret! We were looking for accommodation while in the wheatbelt to do some astrophotography, in particular the Milky Way over Lake Ninan. With only three rooms available to the public on weekends, we had the magnificent homestead and outbuildings to ourselves, a group of two couples. The welcome from Wendy and the continental breakfast she provided were first class and the whole experience is testament to the hard work by her and other volunteers. The warm and comfy accommodation is full of artifacts from the 1800s and doubles as a museum display when there's noone booked to stay, so it is a true old world experience. In keeping with this theme, there's no internet service and the bathrooms are in another building about 100m away. Neither of these factors bothered us but in fairness means that 4/5 is the maximum possible score. I suggest the experience is best suited to adults with a sense of history that enjoy doing something different. We certainly hope to return sometime.

Do yourself a favour and go have a look..it's worth it, the morning tea is really good.

Great place to visit. If a large group of people visit at one time, they can arrange ( for a small charge) to have Devonshire scones, cream and jam.

A lovely surprise! This homestead has been lovingly restored and maintained. A great place to visit, and stay overnight. Also has a beautiful function centre in the original barn. Open weekends too.

Very well restored and well worth the visit

We had a drive from Perth, to the Ettamogah Pub in Cunderdin, because it's a traditional country pub designed like the 'Etamogah' cartoons which were by the infamous Ken Maynard. The interior was nice with lots of cartoon drawing pages and images around the pub. And the food was of good standard and was enjoyable too.

Great stop for a lunch break. Good value food options , eg roast meat and gravy roll for $10, as well as usual pub grub. Unique style, but large indoor and outdoor areas.

Looks cool, iconic. Inside not so much. Walked in at 11:45 on Sunday, chairs on the tables, a stench coming from the toilet corridor. One server down the end near the kitchen talking to two other customers about a function? Either way we waited for 15 minutes and ended up walking out and continued our way back to Perth. Recommendation: Take a photo outside and don’t bother going in. Male and Female toilets filthy, stinky and graffitied up, it felt extremely grubby in the main bar, every surface needs a good scrub, fridges practically empty.

Had chops, mash, apple sauce and NO vegetables. The chops needed to go back due to under cooked. Chops mostly fat. Staff brilliant. Everything on the menu didn't have vegetables..... poor

Worth a visit due to the iconic building. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Our burgers & chips were fantastic. Lots of funny Etamogah Pub signs and drawings on the walls to look at. Recommended.

Sadly I wasn't convinced by what was written on the menu and what was received. Ordered fillet steak and mushroom sauce. Cut of beef was rump and sauce was gravy with a couple of mushrooms on it. It was nice and cooked well but, I had to argue for a sauce refund.

This is the best historical museum I’ve been in for a long time The exhibits are in great condition unlike many we have been to where the exhibits have been placed and left to deteriorate by rust or dust

Terrific little local museum. We stopped to see the pumping station and we were not disappointed. There is lots of information about the station, how it was built and operated, as well as one pump fully assembled, to give a sense of scale to the place.....you can also crouch into the flue of the original chimney. But there is so more - The Earthquake Room in particular is brilliant - telling the story of the 1968 Meckering Earthquake, with boneshaking realism. Lovely staff and well worth the admission money. Disappointed that it was not in my Bradt WA guidebook, as it is a gem. Not sure why I am described as a "local guide" when we live in the UK!

We came to late on an impromptu visit, so we will need to come back, but from what we could see, it looks like it has some great items from years past showing the history of Cunderdin. Look forward to being back soon!

Nicely set up museum, with some interesting displays on the golden pipeline, farm machinery, loads of old tractors, and a simulated earthquake shaking house you can experience, and a lovely bunch of knowledgeable people staffing the museum.

Great display and interesting information on the pipeline. Loved the simulation Meckering Earthquake house where we could sit and feel what an earthquake is like whilst viewing the photos on the old telly. Well worth a visit.

I visited with my whole family, from children to grandparents and we all loved it. We had gone to experience the Meckering earthquake simulator, but there was so much more to see and do. It was a great little museum, current and with interactive displays; very good value for money. Thanks to the volunteers who keep these rural museums running.

Great Museum, we could have spent a lot more time there

Took my 13 year old son and we hired motorbikes and safety gear. Great open tracks so beginners don't have to worry about hitting trees, and a longer "enduring" track that weaves around the farm and through the bush also. Variety of tracks and various jumps from small to medium table tops. I hadn't ridden for 20 years and my son had never ridden, but by the end of the day we had progressed up to doing some great jumps and landing them well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED family activity.

Took my boy there for his first ride today, was impressed straight away by the courtesy of the guys running it! They fitted Hugo up and gave him some key pointers and he was off! Definitely heading back to camp for the weekend ASAP!

Wont be back! I've seen the track just deteriorate over the last few years. I used to go a few times a year, i went there today no track maintenance done since the first time i went there!! Very very disappointing! Surprise pot holes on the other side of the jumps. Worn out jump lips. Well well over grown grass. Maintenance work at the facilities still not finished. Unkept camping areas. Fire pits need replacing. A place so far away from the perth cbd needs to put in the extra effort to draw the numbers. The lack of effort has left me with a bad taste. I will be taking my business else where. (Edit 3 years on my opinion still remains, i have not returned! Those who have, Have noted that it is the same unkempt place)

This is a great place to take the family for the day or the week. The staff there are really friendy and know what they are doing. I took my 6, 10 and 13 year old kids ther for the day and they rode around for 7 hours non stop. There are motor bikes to hire or you can bring your own. There is also camping facilities right next to the office. Well worth the drive out to Wyalkatchem, only two and half hours from Perth.

Awesome park with some great tracks and friendly staff. Hired a bike which was in great condition and noteably well maintained. First time I’ve visited and will definitely be back again soon.

On a recent trip to Merredin I visited the visitor information centre Peter was very helpful and informative of the local attractions and facilities. He gave an excellent tour of the Cummins theatre .which has a fascinating history about the original owners, how it was constructed ,the many celebrities that have passed through and saw the beautiful heritage building. This time of year the country scenery is stunning

Great staff but never open on the weekends, which is when the bulk on the tourists are in town. Now has a shaded bus stop sort of area that people can use. Opposite side of the grassed area to the toilet block (which IS open on the weekends)

Thank you to the very helpful lady that directed us to some beautiful destinations, Mangowine Homestead, Dowerin for their fantastic butcher,Op Shop and the public toilets with hot showers, then finally the festival at Toodyay, a day full of fun, good food and live entertainment.

Rosie was great!! Just easy to talk to, very informative and helpful. And Karina was wonderful also. Highly recommend going here to talk about the whole region and get really helpful information. Really impressed.

Nice museum friendly bloke at the entrance prices are very good to enter ,so much history on the steam days of western Australian easy parking ,it's right on the main line to perth and the east as it was a nice grain train went by ,you can even climb up to the signal box pretend to pull the levers open for 3 hours stop in its good

OMG , What a great place... Loved the information from the Staff on roster (Ray). Went to the basement and the control room too. Everyone needs to visit.

This was an incredible place, very worth while visiting, we spent two hours going around looking at all the history about the town of Merredin and the railways, it was fascinating to see how they people lived in the 1800's.

Lovely welcome from the Ticketmaster (volunteer, where would we be without these lovely people). Fascinating museum and not all about railways. Lots of social history. I especially loved learning about the Pioneer Women of Merredin. So glad we went.

This is a gem of a museum. You can easily drive straight past this place on the highway, as I’m sure most people do, but I implore you to stop for half an hour to check this place out. There’s lots of local history, specifically involving the railway and the people who have been involved in the restoration. You’ll also find lots of informative plaques and displays, as well as carriages and locomotives you can board to get a close look which isn’t afforded in most larger museums.

Love Coolgardie, great spot for a picnic with good toilet facilities. Remember our family trips to Kalgoorlie as a child.

What a fantastic opportunity there is something for everyone from a beautiful bottle collection to minerals history old tools and a lot of interesting information. The lady at the counter was friendly and very helpful. A must stop if it's on your way. And only $5 ...or less....

Coolgardie Visitors centre is a must stop place as it has an amazing museum of Western Australian history. Beautifully displayed and so much information.

This museum was alot better then I had originally expected. Coolgardie is a very small goldfields town but has had such a rich history and I learned quite a bit from the experience. The exhibit boasts a few rooms setting as dioramas from the gold rush era. The building itself used to be the old Coolgardie Court House and has its own history. The curator was very friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. If you are touring the goldfields region then I strongly suggest you pay a visit. Adults only $4, seniors and children only $2
