The winery is nestled amidst picturesque surroundings and offers a warm welcome to visitors of all ages. The family-friendly atmosphere ensures that even kids are catered to with their own special treats. The outdoor area provides a beautiful setting for wine tasting while children can play freely.
This is a lovely family run winery that really has some very nice wines to taste. I was especially impressed with the Guardian Angel and would suggest this if you want to try a very nice Shiraz. The tasting was a lot of fun and the stories behind each wine are definitely worth the visit!

A wonderful multi generation owned family winery. We had lunch here while on our visit. The lunch was delicious. The wine tasting was OK. Not overly impressed with some of them, but everyone had an enjoyable experience. The young waiter accidentally tipped his drink tray, and the wine spilled onto my partner. They were very accommodating and I just want to point out here to that young man that we probably felt worse than he did out of sympathy. Shit happens. The winery staff were wonderful.
Shane H — Google review
This was my very first visit to a winery in Australia—and actually, in my entire life—so I didn’t have high expectations for the wine. I joined a wine tasting, and I was surprised to notice the differences in flavor between each type, such as young and aged wines, and between regular red wine and sparkling red wine. I really enjoyed the experience and the atmosphere of the place. I’d love to go back someday when I can appreciate the differences between wines even more than I do now.
Yuki K — Google review
Lovely winery in the heart of the Barossa…. Samples quite a few and ended up settling for a sparkling Shiraz and Tawny… the Tawny was my favourite ❤️ great spot with a small gift store and cafe… you could spend a bit of time here relaxing .. the only issue was the large bus load which meant that the wines we tasted and chose didn’t get as much information on as the team were busy …
Raelene R — Google review
This was the first winery my friends and I visited in the Barossa Valley and it was an amazing beginning! The wine was amazing and the staff was very kind and always trying to give us the best experience. They explained to us the history of their winery and of all the wines, creating a truly unique atmosphere. We loved it, we will certainly come back!
Martina V — Google review
We had the most wonderful experience at Kies Winery. Visiting as a small group of four, we were welcomed with warmth and given what can only be described as exceptional, personalised service. Nat made us feel like the most important people in the room, taking the time to share the rich family history of the winery and offering genuine insight into each wine we tasted. It wasn’t just a tasting — it felt like a story being told with every pour. We left with several bottles (it was hard to choose just a few!) and a newfound appreciation for the passion behind Kies. The atmosphere, the people, and the wine were all simply outstanding. We can’t wait to return the next time we’re in the region. Kies is a true gem — I couldn’t recommend it more highly ,.
Heather R — Google review
Had a great experience tasting some lovely wines. It was a bit busy so best to book if you can. I’m very thankful they could squeeze our party of 3 in. Amazing, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Left with a couple of bottles and will return soon!

Kellermeister Winery is a renowned establishment in Lyndoch, known for producing exceptional wines and offering captivating views of the surrounding vineyards from its mud-brick cellar door. Visitors can indulge in wine tastings and take in the picturesque scenery. The winery is a must-visit for wine enthusiasts seeking an immersive experience in the Barossa Valley region. Additionally, nearby attractions such as Chateau Yaldara provide further opportunities for wine tastings and scenic exploration.
Top-Notch Tasting at Kellermeister! Hugo was an absolute standout, his exceptional customer service and easygoing style made for a relaxed, memorable tasting. He shared great insight into the wines, genuine passion and good vibes. The wines were fantastic (yes, a few came home with me), and the whole experience felt like catching up with a very knowledgeable mate. Cheers, Hugo!
Jody B — Google review
Has Kellermeister changed hands? Used to be able to rock up for a tasting at the cellar door and have done this for the past 10 years. Very disappointed to see open signs but find a locked door and it shut after travelling all the way from Melbourne. It doesn’t seem to work having to book a wine tasting in at least 24 hours in advance, especially when this doesn’t seem to be the norm in the Barossa. Kellermeister was always our favourite in the region, but it seems like the vibe has changed here based on recent reviews, sadly.
Penny M — Google review
My wife and I dropped into Kellermeister today, as we've done many times before, for a casual glass of red and perhaps a platter etc. The young man at the counter informed us that we 'couldn't just buy' a glass of red, we had to partake in tasting ! We have done this here many times in the past. We all know that one glass of red can then lead to 2 and perhaps more, often leading to the purchase of a bottle or two ! This was extremely disappointing to be told this and turned away. Going by this philosophy, I could have tasted every wine they had, then turned around and walked out, without making a single purchase. As it was, I certainly would have purchased at least 2 glasses of wine at probably around $12 a glass. There are tables and chairs outside etc etc presumably to encourage people to stay and drink and eat. Why are they there then....for tasters !! ? This is (WAS) one of our favourite places to drop in. Very disappointed and felt slightly embarrassed to be turned away in front of several customers, with an awkward silence to go with it. An absolute disgrace !! Perhaps casual customers are no longer welcome....just hipsters and 'wine connoisseurs'.
Simon K — Google review
Absolutely great! Beautiful lawn area looking down over the valley, nice cheese platter and loved the Pious Pioneer Shiraz. Such a smooth red. Great way to spend a Friday lunch!
Holly — Google review
A beautiful winery! Staff were friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting. The Sable was a favourite of ours 20 years ago and still is (even the label is the same - real dejavu!) Great range of reds to try. Will definitely visit again!!
Chris M — Google review
What an amazing experience with Kellermeister that made our trip to Barossa Valley an amazing one! Firstly, we had a taste test of more than 10 different type of wine, and two more premium ones should we join their membership (at no time we their pushy or salesy at all) Our guide Andrew was such a patient guy that brought us first time wine drinker on an educational journey. He was patient and gave us time to ask questions and sample the different wines. Also it was free tasting. How good was that! I signed up for 4 bottles on a quarterly basis thereafter and their wines were of good quality as well! Secondly, they had an amazing seating area with beautiful vast green neighboring views. There were families enjoying the space and greens playing games, chatting, taking pictures etc. There was music and also live music. The staff were friendly and it seems like a small friendly home business. Last but not least, the meat platter we ordered was delicious, generous and of superb value. We added on an extra cheese and asked for crackers which they gave it to us at no extra charge. The wine servicing we ordered after was generous. I will not hesitate to refer or bring anyone back there. Thank u for the amazing experience Lionel
Lionel L — Google review
I really enjoyed my time at Kellermeister winery tasting some of their award winning wines. The mud brick cellar door was absolutely beautiful and the outdoor views of Barossa are spectacular. I think I tasted around 10 different types of wine and every single one of them was delicious. I highly recommend you trying the Belle Bouche Rosé, Funk Wagon GSM and Sauvignon Blanc. The staff are knowledgeable about their wines and provide great recommendations based on your likes.
Robert L — Google review
Had my best wine tasting experience here! Andrew was very patient and friendly, making us feel very welcomed. I think we tried more than 10 different wines and walked out tipsy from just one winery. Andrew told us stories about the winery, the Barossa Valley region and each of the wine we tasted in great detail, which made the tasting experience really specials. Their meat platter is stunning and definitely of good value, offering a great variety of meats (and even the bread was really good). Not to mention the panoramic view from the winery is spectacular. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone who visits Barossa Valley!

Guests can indulge in the attached winery's offerings and take a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool. My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights at the retreat and it was brilliant... despite being 40 degrees all weekend. A very quiet and peaceful area, free to roam whenever we pleased. Jerry was really nice when we arrived. Will definitely be returning. Worth every cent.

Beautiful gardens, luxurious rooms in 1800s buildings, king bed, spacious, sunken spa, on grounds with Moorooroo park vineyards on-site, so many wineries close by, great restaurants in Tanunda and Nuriootpa. Enjoy a BBQ with great meat from Nuriootpa co-op, beside the fire pit. They cover ever detail to make it an enjoyable stay.

A beautiful retreat to stay at. There are four separate cottages on beautiful grounds. The grounds have numerous fountains, swimming pool, barbeques and fire pits. Our cottage has a king size bed, and bathroom has a large shower and a sunken spa. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. Quiet, spacious, beautiful surroundings. Well worth the stay
Bob E — Google review
This was/is a special place. So quiet, just gorgeous setting. I would come back here in a heartbeat. The one thing I would have wanted to know is the nearest restaurant is in town so plan on driving 8 minutes for dinner. That being said, I hit foodland and enjoyed having my own meals after some wine tasting. The BBQ facilities were great. The beauty of the property is indescribable. I hope to return
Geoffrey F — Google review
Rustic isolated cabin for escape and rest. Loft bedroom could challenge physically but large spa tub and cozy setting make for nice getaway outside of Tanunda. Long(ish) walk to Rockford and Charles Melton but adjacent to Woorooroo tasting room.

We had a wonderful stay in the Orchard and Seville Suites in Jacobs Creek Retreat for 3 nights in late Sep, 2024. The suites were beautifully decorated and surrounding gardens were stunning. Jerry was highly responsive and most helpful in sharing local tips. At sunrise, we saw kangaroos near the vineyards behind the retreat which was amazing! On our final evening, Jerry made special arrangements in the Orchard Suite for us to dine in style. All in all, I highly recommend the retreat as it’s very charming and zen and in close proximity of the town of Tanunda where we found lovely restaurants. The Barossa Valley has so much to offer and staying somewhere like Jacobs Creek Retreat made our experience that much more special.

We highly recommend this amazing place. This cute quiet out of the way accommodation, was everything we were after and more. We booked the Fuschia suite for our first wedding anniversary getaway. I requested some extra goodies as a welcome surprise , we were met with some cute local products . I appreciate that gesture so much. The rustic charm suite had all the amenities we needed including a lively spa bath. Highly recommend this place and will be back in the future.

Lyndoch Lavender Farm & Cafe

Mentioned on

$$$$affordable
Sights & Landmarks
Lyndoch Lavender Farm & Cafe offers a charming setting with a wide outdoor area where visitors can enjoy creative lavender-infused treats like baked goods, jams, and ice cream. Just 3 km southeast of Lyndoch lies Hoffnungstahl, a memorial to an abandoned German pioneer settlement from 1847.
We visited Lyndoch Lavender Farm on Mother’s Day for a relaxed brunch and were immediately taken by the stunning views. It’s such a peaceful and picturesque spot. The menu isn’t huge, but it’s perfect for a light bite or a morning/afternoon tea. We went with the toasties, apple strudel, and lavender ice cream. One of the lovely touches here is that you can choose whether or not to add lavender to your dishes. They use just the right amount, enough to give a delicate, fragrant twist without being overpowering. The ice cream is a must-try. It tastes exactly how lavender smells and it is delicious. After enjoying our treats, we took a stroll along the walking trail. It winds through the farm and offers beautiful views, rows of lavender, and interesting info on how lavender is grown and processed. The little shop is a treasure trove of lavender goodies from skincare to home products. It’s probably best to avoid visiting on a very hot day, but on a mild one, it’s a beautiful way to spend a morning or afternoon.
Julie B — Google review
A lovely place to visit the flowers are beautiful during spring and the lavender products smell lovely, some are on the pricey side. The icecream tasted nice but I have been tasting lavender for the remainder of the afternoon. The young man and girl server are very friendly, but the owner was grumpy and unfriendly.
Emma B — Google review
Lyndoch lavender farm is a beautiful unique place to visit in the Barossa valley. Not far from the town of Lyndoch and Tanunda. Beautiful fresh lavender, a quaint gift shop and a rustic eating area. The shop has a great range of products from balms, arthritis rubs to name a few. Also the lavender honey. We are morning tea. We shared the two scones with lavender jam, drank lavender tea and finished it off with lavender ice cream. We spent about $100 in total on ourselves and gifts. Good prices. A great spot to visit
Bob E — Google review
Thia was a beautiful and peaceful place! The services were fantastic, and the owners were really friendly and helpful. If you're visiting, the lavender ice cream is a must try.
Leesly R — Google review
I normally complain about the lack of a gift shop, but you will be as pleasantly surprised as I was that the best thing about Lyndoch's Lavendar Farm IS in fact the gift shop. Lyndoch is a lovely spot, and the Lavender Farm is nestled into a some scenic rolling hills.
RT H — Google review
Not all lavenders were in bloom but it was really nice. The gift shop had a lot of interesting lavender themed items.
Sachita D — Google review
A lovely lavender farm with a few other treasures to see. We had the lavender ice cream which was delicious.
Lynette Y — Google review
Quick stop before closing just for a lavender ice cream but it was not as good as I thought it would be. Service was average - I understand that it was almost closing time but the vibe was weird as if customers were not welcomed

The Big Rocking Horse is a family-friendly attraction located near Gumeracha in the Adelaide Hills. This iconic landmark stands at 18 meters tall and offers visitors the opportunity to climb to the top for panoramic views. Adjacent to the rocking horse is a toy factory where handcrafted wooden toys are made and sold. Visitors can take a tour of the factory, purchase unique toys, and even explore a wildlife park on-site.
The huge rocking horse is truly impressive up close, and climbing to the top gives you great views of the surrounding countryside. There’s also a lovely toy factory, where you can see handmade wooden toys 🧸(great for gifts or souvenirs), and a wildlife park where you can feed kangaroos and see native animals up close. Perfect for families or even just a relaxing day out. It’s only about an hour from Adelaide and makes a great stop if you’re heading through the Adelaide Hills. The staff are always friendly, and the whole place has a welcoming, nostalgic charm. Highly recommend adding this to your South Aussie adventure list! 🦘

The Big Rocking Horse is a fantastic place to visit! The giant rocking horse is iconic, and the view from the top is beautiful. The animal park is lovely, with friendly animals you can feed, making it great for families and kids. The cafe serves good coffee and snacks, though the menu is a bit limited. They also have a gift store where you can buy yourself some nice souvenirs to remember the trip. The staff are welcoming and helpful, and it’s a fun spot to stop and relax. Highly recommend 🥰
SHERPA D — Google review
The Rocking Horse is an iconic must see attraction in the Adelaide Hills. It was wonderful to see it again after 17 years. The animal park there is quite good with a mixture of animals and the gift shop is big and full of items including hand made wooden toys. There is also mini golf, cafe and beautiful murals on the outside of the public toilets.
Jason P — Google review
We had the most amazing time today at the Big Rocking Horse. So much work has been done & it all looks fantastic. The Staff were welcoming & going out & feeding the animals was the very best, loved it so much. Congratulations & thank you to you all for an outstanding day. 👏
Robert M — Google review
A great spot for families to spend a couple of hours. The drive through the hills is quite scenic. At the location, you’ll find a few animals and birds, including kangaroos, alpacas, some peacocks, etc. The entry price is reasonable, though they could consider offering a slightly cheaper package for families. There’s also a nice café on-site.
Wilson A — Google review
Big Rocking Horse, Adelaide – Great Family Spot We visited today and really enjoyed it! Entry to the Big Rocking Horse is only $2 per person, which is great value. Climbing to the top is fun but a bit hard for older people since it’s all ladders — kids will love it! There’s a nice café next to the horse with good food at reasonable prices. The animal park beside it costs $7 per person, where you can feed and touch the animals — great fun for children and adults too. Toilets are available and clean. Overall, a fun, affordable, and family-friendly place to visit!
ANOOP V — Google review
Was a beautiful day out with the family! All the beat pics have my family, so won't be posting them. I do highly recommend for a day out with the family! Both my 12 year old, and toddler loved it.

My sons 2nd birthday. We came here for a little lunch and a walk and visit with the animals. Iconic Giant Rocking Horse in Gumeracha. Its a nice drive to get here. Disability friendly and plenty of toilets and safe walking tracks for those limited in movement. The animals were well taken care of and friendly. Everything was clean and tidy. The wooden toys are always fun to see. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Ive been here several times and will happily visit again. Great place for families. Don't bring your pets.

Carrick Hill House Museum & Garden

Mentioned on
26 lists
Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Nestled in the heart of Adelaide, Carrick Hill is a beautifully preserved estate from the 1930s that has been transformed into a captivating museum. Visitors can explore its impressive art collection and wander through meticulously maintained formal gardens. The estate offers an enchanting experience for families, featuring the delightful Storybook Trail that invites children to engage with nature while discovering whimsical elements inspired by classic tales.
The gardens and grounds themselves alone are worthwhile visiting - more extensive than we expected, and really beautiful with such a variety of flowers. Some were still flowering in autumn, we imagine it will be even more beautiful in spring (especially the extensive rose gardens)! No parking or entrance fee to the gardens, only the house. We saw lots of picnics on the lawns/grounds.
June K — Google review
Carrick Hill House was the home of Sir Edward Hayward and his wife Ursula. The estate was built in 1930s. It was bequeathed to the State Government of SA after Sir Edward's death in 1983. During my visit on 27 July 2025, the house was still closed for conservation, until 1 August 2025. However, the garden is still open for the public as usual. I think both the house and the garden are worth visiting, but a small ticket is required for visiting the house with a guided tour (booking is required). With such beautiful garden and generous approach by Sir Edward's donation of his beautiful house to allow public accessibility to enjoy walking in his garden and visiting his house to see the historical furnitures, decoration and construction, paying a small ticket ($20 per adult or $3 per child upto 15 yrs old) to ensure sustainable management and long term running of this beautiful historical building is totally acceptable. The garden was spectacular, even I visited during winter. I think I will visit in again in Summer or Autumn to see any even more beautiful garden together with a guided tour for visiting the house.
Pat C — Google review
Beautiful building that has been loved and cared for by the team so we can enjoy it. The gardens are beautiful too. Fantastic way to spend a few hours or half a day so close to the city centre.
Cheridan R — Google review
Beautiful grounds, lovely view of the city, lots of lawns, flowers and a few picnic areas, all accessible for free. There ia a new cafe, but it was very busy when I visited on Sunday lunchtime. The car park was also packed, difficult to find a spot. The grounds close at 430pm, so don't expect to stay late in summer.
Candi M — Google review
What a surprise I got today visiting this great SA treasure. I had never heard of this place and ca.e across it by accident. The locals are doing a great job keeping this gem a secret. $20 entry. Well spent. Great works of art are displayed and breathtaking antiques.

Really awesome and very old style setting, but amazing in views and CHH is just amazing in all its rich history. Grounds are immaculate and views are seriously - stupendously sensational.

Such a beautiful historic location to visit. It's amazing to be able to walk through a home that's virtually unchanged from how it was originally. Not to mention how lovely the gardens are. It's had some additions recently which are great but would have been cool if they'd kept more to the house's theme.

Visitors can enjoy hands-on experiences such as holding a koala, hand-feeding kangaroos, or patting a wombat.
Excellent wildlife park in Adelaide. I have visited various wildlife parks in Australia, which are the best in my experience. The park is clean, very animal-friendly, looks excellent, and the staff are friendly and can feel their passion and love for the animals. The koala experience is fantastic; it makes my day and life. Transportation to this park is not convenient, but it's great to make it separate from the polluted world. Keep it up and never get old. Hope this park can remain green forever.

12 Years since my last visit and I’m so pleased to see the park is still doing great! A wonder experience to walk around and seeing the animals have the freedom to roam around without tight caged restrictions like other zoos. Highly recommend their animal experiences on top of an explore around the park!
Brooke J — Google review
Overall Parks ok did enjoy the visit, just a couple little areas that I think need work, one of those been the males toilets which were reasonably clean except the hand dryers, one wasn’t work and the other one is absolutely filthy I opted to dry my hands on my jumper as I didn’t want to put my hands in there before eating. Food was ok just need a better explanation on your Ham toasted wraps as I brought for my son and didn’t realise it had tomatoe Spinach and Onion, maybe I should of asked but by the label just assumed ham and cheese. Other than that the staff were friendly and I said previously enjoyed the park.
Shane E — Google review
It's good 3.5, the area is large and clean, the animals are well looked after. I was slightly disappointed in the lack of different species/animals but the ones that are there are well kept & surrounded by more of a natural setting. If you're looking for a nice open nature park, this one is for you. If you want more variety of animals, go to Gorge Wildlife Park.
Aerwyn — Google review
Great experience getting to see some animals up close and getting to feed them. Lots of kangaroos to feed in a big, open area. (They also have roped-off sections where the kangaroos can go to keep people away from them if they are tired. That was nice for the roos!) Nice park with different animals and birds to see. Highly recommended for people of any age!

Cleland Wildlife park is beautiful. Quiet on a Saturday and truly feels like you’re walking through a wild sanctuary and not a zoo The team is excellent and feeding the animals is so fun and exciting They are really sweet and cute, and really seem to quite enjoy their time in the park Underrated wildlife park

I am a local and always recommend visiting Cleland. My partner and I spent out anniversary there this visit and it was a relaxing time on a beautiful day. Saw lots of animals and there are so many different talks that happen throughout the day that there are always things to do and see here.
Tarmia K — Google review
Absolutely loved seeing, feeding, and stroking the kangaroos, wallabies, and potoroos! Plenty were very friendly and would happily come right up to you for food. Also liked that the animals did have spaces to go to if they wanted to be left alone. Watched a few talks as well, which were great and informative. Could tell that the keepers highly enjoy their jobs and have a lot of love for the animals they're looking after.

Sights & Landmarks
Beerenberg Farm, located in Hahndorf, is a family-owned attraction that offers the opportunity to pick fresh strawberries from November to April. Visitors can enjoy the experience of hand-picking their own sweet strawberries for a small entry fee. The farm also features traditional crops such as sweet corn and mixed vegetables.
The environment is really comfortable and welcoming. The food is amazing. I ordered a big brekkie and it is worth every penny. It can feed two people easily in my opinion. It is 1000% worth it to buy any jam, it has an incredible flavour. The strawberry chocolate is so good, as a strawberry fan I highly recommend. Toilets very clean and aesthetic. Plenty of parking. Staff is very friendly. I would love to come back during strawberry harvesting season.

Very good place to stop whilst in Handorf. Strawberry picking available when in season. In the shop there is a cafe available serving drinks and food. In the shop there is a wide range of jams and other products available, for reasonable prices. Well worth a stop. Good sized car park outside.

Strawberry picking was absolutely amazing especially with the kids. By far the sweetest juiciest strawberries I’ve ever eaten (eating straight after picking it was the best). Definitely worth going when it’s the season and be ready for a long day out of walking too!

The restaurant crowded of people. The menu selection is quite simple and specialist. Seperate into 2 section. The meal area consist ice cream order. The shop area sell variety of products. Order do it in the counter and remember to tell your table number. Food and drink will be deliver to table. The lamb pie, smokey, bacon & eggs is good. Free flow of water is self service, get the cup and bottle of water from the counter.

Beerenberg Family Farm is a great spot for a day out. The strawberry picking is fun. After picking, the farm shop is well worth a visit. I did a lot of shopping there and stocked up on their fresh jams and local products, all excellent in quality. The place is very well run and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s a simple, enjoyable experience that feels genuine and well cared for. A great place to relax, pick strawberries, and take home something delicious.

strawberry picking in beerenberg farm fun day hahaha you can do strawberry picking here but only during Nov to Apr, honestly the ticket is very valuable you can visit strawberry farm and taste a bit, but sadly the strawberry not sweet at all…still a funny experience in hahndorf they have a cafe shop insides with some green plants hanging, quite good environment and the shop next too only bad thing today is keep raining in between we have to stay under the tree to cover ourselves lolll hahaha Beerenberg farm rating of mine: 4.3

Nice relaxing walk from Hahndorf Inn, saw some cows. Strawberry picking not yet started, so we had ice cream & cookies, & browsed at the shop.
MJ F — Google review
The new barn is modern and high-end, and I found the mini museum quite interesting. Although the strawberry patch was closed today, the café was still bustling with people. As part of our mystery trail experience, we collected our meal base and had a quick browse through the shop before leaving. If we hadn’t already had lunch, this would’ve been a lovely spot for a meal—perfect for brunch or lunch in the Adelaide Hills. That said, I feel like Beerenberg Farm has lost some of the charm and personal touches that used to make it such a special place. Little things, like being personally greeted by staff, seem to be missing now.

The d'Arenberg Cube is a one-of-a-kind 5-level structure in McLaren Vale, shaped like a cube puzzle. It features an array of attractions including art exhibits, wine tasting rooms, and a fine-dining restaurant. The renowned cube is home to a surrealist exhibition showcasing authentic Salvador Dali bronze sculptures and graphic artworks. Additionally, visitors can explore the wine inhalation room, virtual fermenter, 360-degree video room, several bars, and tasting rooms on the top floor.
We started at the blending bench with our host Mike which we enjoyed then headed to the next floor to have some lunch a gin cocktail and a wine we then went and checked out the art museum on the first floor which was interesting. The art everywhere is quirky and fun. We took a look at the art Marque and finished our day with some bottles of wine to have when we got home. The views are wonderful and the cube is quirky ,fun and unique with a really good vibe. The toilets are definitely a talking point 😊

I’d say the number 1 winery to visit, perhaps in all of SA. The building itself and views are simply unmatched. Any fan of wine, arts, and natural landscapes has to visit. The $20 entry included tasting of five white or red wines on the beautiful top floor, and access to the rest of the building’s decorative installations. We also spent $10 on the Dali exhibit, which was well worth it. It’s a very cool looking spot but maybe not the best for kids. There isn’t much for them here.

We done a wine blending experience. Sarah our host did a great job. Most interesting, informative and a great experience.

What a gem of a winery - the d’Arenberg Cube blew us away from start to finish. Ground level hosts a free art space that’s totally MONA-esque - immersive and unforgettable. Level 2 features real Salvador Dalí works - mind officially blown. Level 3 café serves vibrant SE Asian bites that hit the spot. Level 4 tasting room offers panoramic vineyard views and incredible pours. Their Sauvignon Blanc with hints of jalapeño and green capsicum alone was worth the trip. Friendly staff, unique vibes, and an experience you won’t find anywhere else - can’t wait to cube again!

We popped up in The d’Arenberg Cube in McLaren Vale SA 5171 at the day after the King’s Birthday holiday 2025. The admission free is $20 per adult including either red or white flight tasting and free historical and artwork visit. Thanks Hugo and Mike, who served us and gave us the information. My overall experience is more than satisfactory 👍

Fantastic and unmissable. The art is spectacular, the wine is delicious and the whole experience is excellent. You must see the Salvador Dali exhibition as part of your ticket. Also visit the tent art in the grounds.

An interesting place. More style over substance but worth a visit. You will pay a high price for everything and be upsold if you want better wines or to visit the Dali exhibit which is really a store. The decor was good, views are good, service is good. Its the type of place that the bus full of tourists stop off at. Plenty of parking.

The brewery and restaurant, located just off the beaten path, offer visitors a chance to witness the magic behind their acclaimed fire-brewed ales. Recently relocated to a larger shed at 42 Mount Barker Rd, Totness, Prancing Pony continues to draw attention with its exceptional brews.
I went here today with the family. I'd never gone before, and it was excellent. It was a good-sized meal and delicious. I ordered the drinks paddle to taste and was very satisfied. The staff were friendly and helpful. I recommend trying here. You won't regret it.

I have previously completed a review for this place with a pretty high score. However after visiting today for their new breakfast I will revise that higher. I had one of the best Ham & Cheese/ Tomato toasties & coffee in ages. The service was amazing including a great talk with the Boss lady. The other staff member was also super friendly & comical. We had a few laughs. Please support this Hills Icon. I also bought a couple of cans of beer to go & they supported me as well, it didn't go unnoticed. Thanks 🐴🐍

Food was outstanding, both beers and food were fantastic. Service is great but only 4 stars because Australia is very do it yourself, so you order from the QR code or at the bar and some nice person your food. Atmosphere was out of this world, live music great environment, was raining and the beer gardens were still packed with people, must be good otherwise who’s staying in the rain! We enjoyed our schnitzels both the beef and chicken are great we observed many pizzas that looked delicious and smelled great. Only downside was we were a bit cold seated by the door, but it was windy and raining and at least we were Inside which doesn’t seem to bother some of their loyal patrons. We even found them the next day in downtown Adelaide at our chosen lunch spot as the local beer of choice. So we partook again.

What a great experience we had here! The kids got to eat good food and the parents got to relax and have a few drinks while the kids were entertained in the kids corner. Big shout out to Prancing Pony for creating such a fun vibe & kid friendly atmosphere .

It was a very hot evening when we visited, so it wasn't very pleasant to eat in as they don't have air-conditioning. However, trying a few different beers was great. We also had a chicken pizza to share which was pretty average and expensive at $30 considering the toppings were minimal. I will try something different next time and perhaps try their schnitzel night on Thursdays.

Primo Estate Winery, established in 1973 by Primo Estate and later propelled into fame by Joe Grilli, seamlessly blends Italian winemaking traditions with modern Australian techniques. The winery is renowned for its innovative wines, including the Moda Amarone and the complex Sparkling Red. Visitors can enjoy a serene tasting experience amidst rows of cabernet grapes at the modern piazzetta-style venue.
This is one of McLaren Vale’s hidden gems and well worth a visit. Primo Estate offers a beautifully designed cellar door experience with modern architecture, clean lines, and panoramic vineyard views from the driveway through to the tasting area. The red carpet walkway into the venue adds a touch of elegance as you approach. We had a fantastic tasting session hosted by a knowledgeable and passionate team member who took the time to guide us through the unique character of each wine. Every pour was part of a story, whether it was their rich and smooth Joseph red blends, crisp white varietals, or indulgent fortifieds. The presentation of the wines was spot-on, and the glasses were immaculately clean and perfectly poured. Inside, the tasting space was thoughtfully laid out with plenty of room, natural light, and beautifully arranged wine displays lining the walls. Their collection includes both Italian-inspired and Australian wines, all carefully curated and available for purchase. A highlight for us was how relaxing and calm the whole space felt, it never felt rushed. It's a place you can sit, sip, and soak in the atmosphere. We didn’t leave empty-handed either, too many great wines to resist. Highly recommend for wine lovers and anyone seeking a premium tasting experience. We are from Sydney, Four of us visited this venue with our Adelaide friends. We walked in last minute of the day and only 45 minutes to finish off. I didn’t test the wines so I wouldn’t comment on the testing. But the service was amazing. I loved the coffee at the end. The value of the testing was good because it was included the small nibbles. We enjoyed it . We got allocated in the nice private room. I gave 4 stars because of the overall experience, if we have stayed there longer and I tested the wines. I would be more than happy to provide more feedback. We will return when we visit McClaren region again.

Superb wines, superb venue, superb host (Lynley), and superb tasting experience. We spent nearly 90 minutes tasting an incredible range of wine, beginning with a Prosecco, fruity on the nose but dry on the way down, to cleanse the palate. The tasting notes, plus Lynley’s additional commentary, helped us appreciate and understand the wines set before us. When the reds were being poured, Lynley produced servings of bread and olive oil - much appreciated. Ended up getting a mixed dozen: Prosecco, Il Briccone Shiraz Sangiovese, and the Shale Stone Shiraz, plus a complimentary bottle of olive oil. A first-rate experience and an exceptional start to our day of discovering just a fraction of what McLaren Vale has to offer.

Fabulous experience at Primo estate this morning with Megan , she looked after us giving an insight of the history of the vineyard and the family who had been running it for 3 generations. We tasted 8 wines , who are a mix of Australian and Italian style , we were also lucky enough to try their delicious extra virgin olive oil , vinegar and Grana Padano. Thanks for your hospitality , you are an asset to the team ! We felt very fortunate to spend an hour here in this beautiful place. Thanks again

A beautiful tasting with the amazing host Lorina! She is very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We left feeling very happy and like we got a great value for money! We all left carrying a bottle each, the wines are that good! We would recommend this experience to everyone and we will definitely be back!😊

We had the most amazing morning at Primo Estate. Geoff was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. We had our 8 month old, 3 year old and our friends 3 year old and what could have been a very disrupted unenjoyable wine tasting experience with children he made it very easy and so much fun for us. The wines were absolutely delicious and Geoff was so informative about the wines. The venue itself is stunning and the olive oil is chefs kiss! Thank you for making our visit to McLaren Vale so wonderful Geoff!

Large winery with restaurant and tasting area. Set in gorgeous gardens and surrounding landscape. Delicious range of reds, whites and pinks. Post and rail fence is largest example I’ve ever seen!

We found this vineyard by chance and loved it so much. The staff are very friendly. Coffee was amazing (the best coffee that I’ve had recently). We enjoyed the food and prices are reasonable. I had an amazing time even though I don’t drink wine so you can enjoy your time at this place even if you don’t drink. Overall highly recommended!

Harry’s Deli was recommended to us and did not disappoint. Our group of eight (all from interstate) enjoyed the best service - we had the a la carte menu and all meals were just delicious. Great wine and great food.

Wirra Wirra will always be 5/5. The wine is beautiful, with reasonably priced tastings that showcase the incredible wines on offer. Bec was very very very knowledgeable about the wine, vineyards, production process, the grapes and everything in between. Her bubbly personality and willingness to answer questions made the tasting not only delicious but informative too. Plenty of parking available at Wirra Wirra too. Great location that is also child friendly too. The environment is steeped in rich heritage of delicious wines coupled with the country feeling of McLaren Vale. Next we trotted over to Harry’s Deli. The catering manager Carly was just as excellent as the food. Our server was attentive, considerate, professional and polite. The food portions were generous and reasonably priced. We shared our smaller plates and our mains. The variety on the menu is perfect for the venue and has something to cater to all. Wirra Wirra wines are a staple in our home and we walked out with a few to add to the collection. Another gorgeous trip to a place that feels like walking into a welcoming and warm home. It’s accessible all year round with flat ground for wheelchair and mobility access, plus indoor and outdoor seating with the fire roaring in winter means visiting all year round is a breeze. We will always come back here for a lovely weekend meal. It truly feels like luxury meets the comforts of home. An asset to McLaren Vale.

We celebrated my husband's 60th at Wirra Wirra last weekend in a private room which was beautifully set up. It was amazing and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The wines are top notch as was the food and service - we cannot fault anything! We were able to experience setting off the catapult (organised in advance) and my husband was able to also ring the Anglican Church Bell that's on site at the end of the day. We cannot recommend Wirra Wirra highly enough and if we ever want to hold another special event in SA, Wirra Wirra will be at the top of our list of places to hold it. Karly was amazing to deal with right from the start - an amazing human being always smiling and accommodating! We'd like to personally thank her wholeheartedly - we were in great hands! We'd also like to thank staff member Luke who assisted Karly on the day as well as the Catapult team Keith and Shane.

We visited Harry’s Deli for our 20th wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. We enjoyed a beautiful bottle of 2016 Catapault Shiraz paired with the kingfish and chicken entrees and beef brisket and Asian duck noodle salad for mains. Food was amazing and views were lovely. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. Definitely worth a visit whilst McClaren Vale.
Colette P — Google review
A great place for wine tasting and lunch. Don't be fooled by the name Harry's 'Deli' - the food is sophisticated with more of a restaurant feel.
Jane B — Google review
We went today for lunch, booked for 8 people, half from interstate. We had an extra 2 adults with 2 kids (2 years old and 1 year old) that wanted to join us, not to eat, just to have a drink and for company. Once we mentioned this, we were told we were required to go to the seasonal meal, which was $70 a head. This wouldn’t be an issue if they were actually eating, but they weren’t. The attitude of the waitress who served us was nothing short of disappointing and rather rude. Not flexible, not willing to work with us and borderline arrogant. In all honesty, we wanted to leave there and then. Such a shame as table service was great, food was great but it left a really bad taste in our mouth that we couldn’t have a couple more sit with us who wanted to be apart of the crew. The place had plenty of seating which was even more disappointing. Rather than joining us, they were made to sit on the other side of the winery and had to wait for us to have lunch. Based on the way the situation was handled. I wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend.

Beautiful place, we had a gin and wine tasting. The outdoor setting and picnic grass area was just wonderful, we had the sunshine and all. One thing was, the kitchen closed too early for us to have any food, so we left a little hungry.

It was an enjoyable visit on Saturday 6th Jan 24. Weather was rainy and we were there when it first opened. Despite the business setting up for the day a nice engaging young lady took us through the wines. A great venue and our host for the wines did a fantastic job. We signed up and look forward to getting more wines. Highly recommend.👏👏👏👍🍷

Beautiful place to hang out in the afternoon/ evening. They offer outdoor cinema sometime which kids enjoy a lot. However, very limited selection of beer and food is really poor. We tried a pizza and a couple of chicken burgers, none was good. I also noticed that many people complained about getting the wrong order. I would suggest visiting but don’t have high hopes getting a good meal.

Mannum Dock Museum of River History exceeded my expectations. There were so many interesting exhibitions full of history. We were there for about 2 hours. I went with my kids aged 8 and 7, they especially loved the interactive museum where they got to sound the whistle, steer the giant wheel and so much more. The PS Marion house Puddle Steamer was fun to explore seeing the cabins that people slept in and the kids were surprised to learn that people used to smoke inside smoke rooms. The kids and I played a game where we found items that had been improved/changed over the years. For example the steel iron has now changed to electric irons.

Lots of interesting suveneers and books about the river and the people who have lived all their lives near the river. Also a lot about the 1956 flood.Another is to see the dock itself and all the Pelicans etc wating just below the dock all redy to catch and feed on fish which come through. I've included a picture of the dock.If you bring it up large the Pelicans can be seen. The second photo is the ferry crossing the river at Walkers Flat not far from Mannum.

Pwrfect to spend time with the grandchildren and catch up the local river history. The museum is 2 floors of interactive displays. The kids loved it. The noise was all part of the experience. They particularly love it when we went out to the backyard and they climbed on board the PSMarion and checked out the wheelhouse and some rooms were open for us to check out. We could even go inside a cabin to see the accommodation! There was so much more to see and do here, you will really have to see for yourselves.

Open-range zoo featuring animals like cheetahs, lions, giraffes & rhinos, with hands-on experiences.
Loved it! A great experience for young and old alike, lots of choices depending on your level of fitness from either walking the entire 15 odd kilometres of walking trails to just sitting on the 1.5hour tour buses that continually traverse the park, or you can get off at viewing platforms of your choice to see things at your own pace. Definitely going pay extra to see the lion feeding at dusk tour next time around! The visitors center is awesome too with lots to see.
Daniel M — Google review
I recently visited Monarto Safari Park with my family, and it was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The park is extremely well organised, clean, and visitor friendly. A big plus is the frequent bus service that goes around the park (every 10 minutes), which makes getting between enclosures very easy and relaxing especially with kids. The buses let you hop on and off, so you can take your time at each stop without feeling rushed. During our visit we saw a fantastic variety of animals: lions, giraffes, rhinos, cheetahs, chimpanzees, elephants and many others. The open-range habitats are stunning; many of the animals have large, naturalistic spaces to roam, which adds so much to the authenticity and joy of the safari feeling. We also appreciated the viewing platforms and well-designed stops where you can get closer looks without disturbing the animals. The staff are outstanding friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic. They gladly answered questions, explained things about the animals and conservation efforts, which made the day both fun and educational. For families, this place is ideal: there are paths, walks, and plenty of opportunities for children to learn and enjoy. All in all, Monarto Safari Park is very well organised, offers great value, and delivers memorable moments. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a full day outing whether with kids, friends or just by yourself. It’s definitely one of the best wildlife experiences in South Australia. 🇦🇺 💙

Went in on my yearly zoo pass and took some amazing photos. Spent the entire day there and the staff are very helpful one girl who drives the buses is very knowledgeable and let's you feel the personal story of the animals, the kids loved her. I believe her name was Lindsay, say hi to her and commend her great work. The volunteers are very supportive to this amazing park. There's a hotel on site and your able to stay and try the packages to get up and close with the Cat's and other animals. Its worth the trip with the family.

Great for all ages! They provide free loop bus to bring us around animals' habitat for close up view withing the park! Monarto Safari Park is Huge! 14 kilometers walking trails can easily be covered by bus! 1 full round trip bus takes about 1.5hrs with tour guide explaining on board. Its truely an amazing experience!
Rainbow F — Google review
Amazing day, the 360 lion experience was fantastic. We had wheel chairs so was a bit limited to where we could go but the 1 & half hour coach trip around the park was great. Perfect weather 18 degrees so most of the animals were out and about.

Visiting the safari zoo was a special experience. It’s definitely better to stay on the tour bus rather than walk, as the visitor platforms aren’t very convenient for spotting animals. The zoo can also be quite windy and cold, so be prepared!
Yue Z — Google review
I had such a great day at Monarto, the drivers of the bus have such good knowledge of the animals and interesting facts about the park. We then stayed at the new resort and it was incredible. I would love to stay there again. We stayed in one of the waterhole view rooms, and saw the giraffes and zebras coming to eat and drink, it was amazing to see from a hotel room. My partner proposed on the balcony looking over the waterhole and it was so perfect and magical.

The crew was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, offering insights into the history of the area, which made the journey even more engaging. The onboard meal was delicious, featuring fresh, local ingredients that highlighted the region’s flavors. It was the perfect setting for a relaxing day on the water, whether you’re looking to unwind or learn more about the Murray River. I highly recommend the Captain Proud Paddle Boat cruise to anyone visiting the area. It’s an experience that combines history, nature, and relaxation in the best way possible!

This cruise is fantastic value for money, especially if you’re using their special offers/cheap Tuesday deal. Lunch was good and the menu was surprisingly big considering the kitchen must be rather small. Servings were generous. Enjoyed a lovely, peaceful 3-hour cruise up and down the Murray river seeing the scenery and all kinds of birds. I’ve never seen so many pelicans! The boat seemed to be at less than half capacity on a sunny Sunday in June, so you might get lucky with lots of space to spread out in winter!

Captain did a great job. Boat itself is very tired..would be great after a reno...bathrooms unacceptable. It chuffed along the river without any problems. Meal served, (2 courses) quite surprising considering it was prepared on board in galley kitchen. Bar served drinks, including coffee or tea if you wanted it...but was not included. All in all a good experience and one we should support. Quiet day meant boat could go down stream, which is apparently more interesting.

The Mother’s Day cruise was an excellent way to spend time with family; the specialty 3 course menu was filling and delicious, the local artists looked after us with all the biggest hits across a variety of different genres and the dazzling lights amongst the sunset made for a beautiful scenery. The crew have outdone themselves x

We had a great trip up and down the river. Lunch was excellent and the information provided along the way was informative. Recommended for anyone wanting to experience a paddle boat in close proximity to Adelaide.

Captain Josh and his staff were brilliant. Josh had fair bit of good knowledge of river. Scones and drinks were delicious

Went on Burlesque cruise, entertainment was very good table companions were great but the food was substandard. Main course choice of lamb shanks or vegeterian salad I was told no choice left you had to have salad. The "salad" was horrible spinache leaves with boiled carrots and pumpkin asparagas houllumi no dressing. So bad I could not eat it. $130 person be ware. Why dont Cpt Proud request preselection of food when booking to avoid disappointment. Won't be back.

Got the opportunity to visit this beautiful winery with the State Voucher Scheme. It was an amazing experience tasting the wines and eating food and exploring the area. Staff was superb! Wine tasting was very generous and pizzas were so so delicious, honestly one of the best lamb yiros pizza I have had ever. We shopped the wine range at the bar afterwards and the prices were reasonable. Overall a fantastic experience and will highly recommend it.

Visited this venue today. It has a large enclosed outdoor eating area with heating and lots of tables and chairs. We didnt taste any wines today, but we enjoyed a hot drink and some desserts which were absolutely delicious while looking out over the vineyard. The staff were friendly even during busy times. There is plenty of free onsite parking available. Im glad we stopped and visited here today.

The Winery Cellar Door 317 Angas Plains Rd, situated in the Langhorne Creek wine area, is a must visit. The winery has won some prodigious awards, Cellar Door with Best Foods, Australia’s Best Cellar Door, Cellar Door with Best Food Langhorne Creek. We were seated in an undercover purpose built alfresco, this is a very large area with great views over the vinyard and Plains. We enjoyed from a very good menu, two large homebaked steak pies, with salad and fries. Our choice of wines from the wine list was a sparkling chardonnary, mixed Sauvignon Blanc, and a very soft pleasant tasting smooth 2009 Emily Cross Shiraz. We found the service excellent and informative. Totally a very relaxing Australia Day experience. Accomodation is available on request. Highly recommended.

Very friendly and helpful service. The menu had a good range of items and quite a few pizzas. The greek lamb pizza was really good, nice and soft so it was easy to cut with lovely tasting ingredients. The pie of the day was delicious with a lovely gourmet sauce. Quite a lot of tables but pretty popular being the weekend so it would be best to book, particularly for a larger group. The toilet facilities were very good with a couple indoors and another one outside. Plenty of parking. Good signage for the winery thankfully as it would be a bit tricky without that. Google gives the correct directions though.

Urimbirra Wildlife Park

Mentioned on

Wildlife park
Zoos & Aquariums
Urimbirra Wildlife Park is a delightful destination for families, friends, or solo adventurers looking to connect with Australia's unique wildlife. Conveniently located near Victor Harbor, this medium-sized private zoo offers an engaging experience with friendly kangaroos that visitors can feed and interact with. Many guests have enjoyed the thrill of petting koalas and observing various other animals in well-maintained enclosures.
Our family had a wonderful time at Urimbirra. Affordable entry prices and kangaroo food available for purchase. We enjoyed feeding all of the friendly kangaroos and learning about koalas. We also visited the goats and sheep who were very eager to meet us. A great afternoon out for little ones!
Georgia H — Google review
We are locals so have been a few times, but must say things certainly seem to be getting better, there are new structures, pens and water containers clean, and im not sure how they did it but the kangaroos dont mob everyone as soon as you go through the gate, it makes for a lot nicer experience for all. The handler at the koalas was happy to use our phones to take photos with koalas so that was a nice touch
Chris B — Google review
I’ve been here twice with my kids and we have all enjoyed being up close with the wildlife. The pricing is fair, there are not a vast range of animals, but it’s a wildlife park not a zoo. The kangaroos are pretty placid and welcome pats, especially if you purchase feeding bags. They can get a bit handsie when you have feeding bags, this most recent visit I saw multiple kids arms be grabbed and held on to as well as whole bags snatched from them. When you’re in the park, it is almost rare to see any staff around, the grounds is quite large and you have free range to roam around and see all the animals. I’ve been during school term and school holidays and honestly it’s not super noticeable when there’s more people, the only time you kind of noticed it is when you’re in line to pat the koalas. The koala experience is not like when you go to the zoo and pay to hold a koala, but it is included with the entry fee and you get to go right up to the koalas and pat them on the back. They bring koalas into small fenced enclosures, open up the gate to see the koalas and give them pats on the back while they lounge and eat. I am unsure where the koalas are kept regularly as each time I’ve come it has been right at the start of the day and the koalas are not in the same pens to begin with. Multiple bird Avery’s are around the park with one walk-through Avery close to the entrance, the walk through is mostly rainbow lorikeets, but there are a few other birds inside. In the other Avery you can see many different breeds of Australian native birds including tawny frogmouth owls and cockatoos. There are also multiple peacocks and a peahen roaming the grounds freely that you can get close to but they will run/fly/jump away if you run up to them or spook them. There is a small section with a reptile enclosure, including some Australian snakes and lizards as well as a few crocodiles. Further into the ground there awesome wombat enclosures usually they are in their dens which you’re able to see through a pain of glass. There are also a few dingoes in a fenced off enclosure that has got electrocuted fencing. They often are right up at the fences waging their tails when people are around, there enclosure is large and they seem very happy. This is a great experience for younger kids and anyone who just wants to feed a kangaroo and pat a koala.
Talia T — Google review
We love this place. It's reasonably priced and not too large for little ones. We bring our grandson here regularly as he loves it. They have limited snacks so best to bring your own food with you.
Jill D — Google review
This place is great. Lots of kangaroos just hanging out in the open wanting to be fed. Wombats, crocodiles, cockatoos and more. Quite busy with a mix of people from families with kids, to couples, to tourists. Spent over an hour just wandering around.
Sam V — Google review
The kangaroos were very keen for food and will come over to you. Birds are very talkative and friendly. Smaller park than some. Staff were friendly. Toilets outside the giftshop area.
Jasmine D — Google review
Our family enjoyed our visit to Urimbirra Wildlife Park. The park was small but had enough animals for the kids to enjoy. There were plenty of kangaroos that you can feed and we also did the koala encounter which both kids and adults loved.
M L — Google review
We were pleasantly surprised on our recent visit to this wonderful park. There were many more animals than we were expecting, the reptile area was fascinating, and being able to get so close to the wildlife was quite an experience. Keep up the great work!

Wine tastings, share plates and pizza in a restored 1866 barn with stone walls and a mezzanine.
Simply stunning winery and cellar door you could swear you were in Tuscany. Beautiful wood fired GF pizza and bre and jam standard base pizza. The wines were delicious and for us the Selkirk Shiraz was the take home winner. Great team very knowledgeable and warm! Kevin

Food, wine and staff were amazing. The warmth you feel upon arrival is next level & the service is second to none. The facilities are at the highest standard and such a beautiful setting. Thank you for kicking off our girls trip on such a high 💗

Visiting Bremerton is a fabulous way to spend an afternoon. We started our time there with a tasting. Rach was a brilliant host and made the tasting interesting and fun. Honestly, I could have bought a bottle of every wine I tasted. They were all amazing. After the tasting we moved into the dining area for lunch. The outdoor area looks incredible and it would be a brilliant place to spend a warm afternoon. Unfortunately the weather was against us, so we opted to eat inside. The atmosphere in the dining area is wonderful and the art on the walls provides an interesting backdrop. Our food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend a visit to Bremerton and I will definitely be going back.

Visited Bremerton in search of a good local wine and definitely found it here! To our surprise they offer a complimentary wine-tasting in which you can choose 6 wines from the menu to try. During that Brad was super helpful and told us so many facts & information about the different wines we tasted. Very friendly atmosphere 💯 Maybe try to avoid the peak hours for a bit more personalized experience 💪🏼 (as it seemed like getting quite busy when we left) Very recommendable, especially if you don't have much experience with wines! 🍷

There were Dozens of wines are available for tastings at no charge and then we went and had lunch which was amazing value we ordered a pizza 9 inch with two glasses of wine for $38. We then left after purchasing three wines to take home fantastic customer service explanation of the wines What an under bay appreciated wine region and superb Bremerton wines. Also Our pizza order was forgotten but they came back and looked after us with complimentary wines. We were so impressed by their professionalism and looking after us. The pizza was basic but not gourmet with what tasted dnd looked like a commercially made pizza base. But once again it was great value.. but we do highly recommend this place.

We were lucky to get a table without making a reservation this time round. 2nd time here with the first time doing the Gin Flight... one of the better distilleries in the region. This time we gone through the wine tasting. Jayden was an absolute gem with extensive knowledge on the winelist who provided us lots of details and insights... Had the Mediterranean platter with Mediterranean pizza and Mushroom pizza. Love the overall experience and glad that we lived 40 minutes away...

A lovely little petting zoo with included mini golf and a trailer ride. I wouldn't plan a trip explicitly to go here but if you're already in the area, it's worth a 1-2 hour visit, particularly if you have kids.

What a wonderful place and such lovely people who own it. My Granddaughter had her birthday party there, such a fabulous place for such an event. We took 2 of our youngest grandchildren during last school holidays… SO VERY DISAPPOINTING… kids got to go in with rabbits & play mini golf… Spoke to owners about the other animals listed on board on arrival & were told sorry but had to get rid of many of them… no discount of admission though!! Overall quite sad to see rabbits etc in smelly areas. (I was raised on a farm so no excuses please for poop & wee stink) Spend your money elsewhere.

Exceptional venue. Elegant country atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and impeccable food and service. This was a special occasion, being my friend's birthday celebration & it did not disappoint. The three of us dined in for lunch on a chilly winter Sunday, but the warm fire & friendliness of staff had us feeling toasty warm and amongst friends. We were so impressed & delighted by the Chefs Degustation selection. It was faultless in presentation and deliciousness 😋 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We will be back!

What an ambience, beautifully set in a lovely vineyard. Staff were extre accommodating and made our experience ask the better. The food was beautiful as to the wine and for me specially the tawny. If you go you must try the affogato, the home made icecream sets it to another level.

We fell in love with Lake Breeze as our wedding venue the moment we arrived and that was just reinforced by the incredible, welcoming service we were provided by Ash, Georgia & the team. Not only are the gardens immaculate, but the purpose built function room was the perfect setting for the meal time and following party we dreamed of. Even the bathrooms are beautiful! Every time we visited the venue for any reason, we were consistently greeted with genuine warmth no matter who it was in the team. The events team truly know what they're doing, meticulously planning tasting nights to help select our menu, and no idea was off limits when it came to styling for our unique day. The most important thing for us was that our guests had a great time and thanks to Lake Breeze, this was a given. Overall we are thrilled with Lake Breeze as a reception venue and we couldn't recommend them highly enough!

Iconic, picturesque bay & popular diving spot known for its coral reefs & variety of sea life.
One of my favourite beaches in S.A! Love the scenery here. Ample parking available. Nice cafe right on the beachfront. Toilets located close to cafe and parking bay. We enjoyed doing the walking loop up above where you could see stunning views from all directions. We saw a seal 🦭 playing in the water from a distance.

Rajinda F — Google review
Horseshoe Bay Visited on 19/6/2019 History has it that in 1850, Horseshoe Bay at Port Elliot was controversially selected as the major seaport. Unfortunately, the harbour had a reputation as a "ship trap", with seven ships wrecked between 1853 and 1864. From the lookout vantage point, visitors can enjoy picturesque scenery, and be hypnotised by the sound of the rhythmicmic ruse and fall of the waves. The wind is strong, and the waves keep rushing to the shore wash upon the sand. It is safer to walk on the boardwalk to reach the beach. It must be one of the best tourist attraction. Exercise extreme caution as the waves are big.

Old Tailem Town Pioneer Village

Sights & Landmarks
Historic Sites
Thoroughly enjoyed this stop as it was a great historic place were you can walk around and see over 100 buildings from Australia’s pioneering past. Incredible to see how well everything has been preserved and that you can walk through so many of the buildings. We spent nearly a couple hours but you could definitely spend more as there is so much to see. Highly recommend!
Renee D — Google review
Old Tailem Town Pioneer Village is an incredible step back in time! The attention to detail in the historical buildings and exhibits is amazing—each one tells a story of life in Australia from the 1800s to the mid-1900s. It's a self-guided tour, which gave us the freedom to explore at our own pace. The kids loved the old schoolhouse and vintage vehicles, and we found the whole experience both educational and fascinating. Definitely worth the visit if you're into history or looking for a unique day out. Just remember to bring cash and your own snacks, as facilities are a bit limited. Highly recommend!
Anish S — Google review
My visit to Old Tailem Town took 2.5 hours to complete, and I didn't dilly dally in the machinery sheds! Imagine! Try 3.5 hours if I had. The presentation of this wonderful walk back in time lacks no detail. The atmosphere as I walked around the precinct pulled me back into my own "early days" of the 1950's, and gave me pause to ponder how fortunate my parents were that their predecessors boarded a ship in 1822 to leave Prussia to proceed to align themselves into such a harsh yet beautiful "new world". Both my parents were born in South Australia, 1909 and 1917. The old Tailem Town experience brings to life so many aspects of "life as it was" that I can't write it all here. I will be definitely be encouraging people I meet as I travel to visit this amazing place. The Squire's family have done, and continue to do, a top job of presenting an accurate and full bodied look into an important part of Australia's historical living conditions and life styles. The strong hot cuppa T made "the modern way with a tea bag"😆 was very much needed and appreciated after my long amble through the old town. The homemade Choc chip and Anzac biccies went down well too! Thank you for continuing to ensure this wonderful place continues to exist.
Valerie — Google review
Expected a few buildings but wow! Was completely amazed at how massive this place is with so many buildings all jam packed with items. They said it took 45 years to get it all in one spot and I'm not surprised! Definitely bigger and better than Flagstaff Hill or Soverign Hill was cheap entry and could easily have spent the whole day there and still not seen it all.
Peta A — Google review
This place was great. I've always driven past and not visited. As a family, we spent 3hrs here, but easily could have spent 5hrs + here. Kids (7,9,11) and adults all enjoyed it thoroughly.
Alex K — Google review
Great place for anyone interested in learning about the history of South Australia and how people lived here in the past. Fully furnished and detailed buildings with lots to see, lots of effort has been put into maintaining the place and preserving the history. Pink Lake

Nature & Parks
Bodies of Water
A truly unique natural wonder! Pink Lake is such a beautiful and fascinating stop. The soft pink hue of the water against the white salt edges looks magical, especially on a sunny day. It’s right off the highway with a convenient lookout and parking, so it’s easy to visit even on a road trip. You can walk down close to the lake for amazing photos. The colour can change depending on the weather and season, but it’s still a stunning sight and worth a visit. A peaceful and memorable spot in Victoria!
Rupal P — Google review
Nothing pink to be see. We were on our way from Robe to Adelaide, so we did not deliberately drive there. We would have been disappointed. The lake was completely dried up 3 days before Christmas. But the otherworldly landscape was still worth the stop.
Andreas L — Google review
The Pink Lake is tricky to attempt to get a true to colour image of on a phone camera methinks. My attempts were a fail. I found this place 'along the way' a simple yet interesting one. Being the Winter the pink was not as pronounced as other seasons but there was definitely a glimpse of pink to ponder. Im an artist so a bit of artistic licence will be brought out of my kit as I create 'my version' of how I actually saw it and how I envisioned Pink Lake in other seasons!🩷🧞‍♀️
Valerie — Google review
I visited Pink Lake in Meningie during the holidays, but the water had dried up, so the lake wasn’t pink as shown in the pictures. Even so, the trip was still worth it. The view along the road was amazing – wide open spaces that made me feel small under the big sky. Both sides of the road were full of different plants, with changing colors and shapes. It made the drive interesting and enjoyable, turning the whole journey into a special experience. If you’re nearby, I’d recommend visiting. The lake might not always be pink, but the scenery and peaceful atmosphere make it worth the trip.

Well worth a visit. Only $5 (cash) upon entry. Very well maintained and curated. Clean and presented beautifully. Even the 'old bone yard' was clean and well presented. Not covered in dust and spiderwebs, which can be all too often expected in museums of this type. A fabulous collection of pieces that will have everyone over the age of 30 nostalgic for their past. :)

This is one of the few cafes in Meningie and it's run by a young couple. Apparently this was a museum and then converted into a cafe. We received great customer service and We loved the rustic interior and exterior. This could be a great venue for a birthday/anniversary party or for an intimate little wedding. If you are planning to host an event (based on the numbers) they'd waive off the venue fee. We stopped here for coffee and the beverages ( including beers and ciders) were really great but the scones were average. Overall great place!

A Must-See Roadside Gem! Absolutely stunning! The Coonalpyn Silo Mural is a beautiful blend of art and community spirit. The sheer scale of the mural is impressive, and the detail in the portraits is incredibly moving. It captures the essence of rural Australia in such a respectful and heartfelt way. Perfect spot to stretch your legs and snap some memorable photos. If you're driving through South Australia, make sure to stop here — it's more than just a mural. It's a story on silos!

The Coonalpyn Silo Mural is a breathtaking example of how art can transform a small town into a must-visit destination. Situated along the Dukes Highway in South Australia, this massive artwork is an inspiring tribute to community and creativity. The mural, painted by renowned artist Guido van Helten, features larger-than-life portraits of local schoolchildren. The level of detail and the soft, emotive tones used in the artwork are nothing short of extraordinary. It feels as though the mural captures the spirit and future of the town, making it both deeply personal and universally relatable. What makes the Coonalpyn Silo Mural even more special is how accessible it is. Located just off the highway, it’s the perfect spot for a quick stop to stretch your legs and admire this stunning piece of public art. There’s a sense of pride and warmth in the community that surrounds it, and the mural serves as a reminder of the beauty in everyday life. For travelers and art lovers alike, the Coonalpyn Silo Mural is a must-see. It’s not just a painting on a silo; it’s a symbol of connection, creativity, and the power of art to bring people together.

Why not take a moment to admire this beautiful art? A perfect quick stopover with a bathroom available and a local shop just across the road. A great spot to stretch your legs, take in the creativity, and enjoy a brief break before continuing your journey. Definitely worth the stop!

Another Silo Art an my Australian tour and another take on how to do it. The artwork is superb, I still can’t figure it out even though I know technically how it’s done. To see these finished pieces of massive artwork is a pleasure. Not only tall but on a curved surface, great to see! Lots of people had stopped to take photos, a lot went to the bakery too!

Beautiful silo art in this rural SA town. Amble parking and possible to get great pictures from many angles. The bakery down the street serves good coffee and pies, and there's public toilets too. Get here early on weekends before the caravans pulls up. It tends to get a little crowded.

Absolutely beautiful. Made me think about my own grown children. There was a tree blocking a little bit but we just went around it.

The Big Lobster

$$$$affordable
Sights & Landmarks
Built in 1979, this 17-m. fiberglass-&-steel lobster sculpture is a popular spot for photos.
A Hidden Gem in Kingston Behind the Big Lobster! If you're passing through Kingston, do not miss the charming café tucked just behind the iconic Big Lobster. It's the kind of hidden gem that surprises you in the best way. With plenty of space and a gorgeous green setting, it’s perfect whether you're visiting solo, with a small group, or even a big bunch of friends. The breakfast and brunch options are spot on—fresh, hearty, and full of flavor. And the coffee? Easily some of the best you’ll find on the Limestone Coast. These folks know what they’re doing. What really sets this place apart is the rustic, relaxed vibe—outdoor seating under the trees, a peaceful atmosphere, and genuinely warm service. It’s the ideal stop to recharge and soak in the local charm. Highly recommended. You’ll leave full, caffeinated, and smiling!

The lobster was bigger than a regular lobster. We drove 4 hours to go fishing, but the weather was not as forecast, so we cracked 'em and went exploring a bit instead. The people running the shop were super friendly and chatty and shared some history about the town and photos displayed, along with some good local fishing spots. She did a nice coffee, but the sausage roll had been sitting in the warmer for a bit too long (I should've got a pasty instead, maybe?). Overall, it's a great place to stop on a road trip and see a lobster that is larger than a real lobster. Funnily enough, the servo across the road were selling lobster sandwiches. Maybe I should've got one of those instead of the sausage roll? The lobster was pretty large.

Im not normally particularly interested in 'the big thingys' towns/States attempt to portray themselves as having the biggest n bestest of. The Big Pinapple is my home patch claim to fame lol😁🍍 However! The Big Lobster is indeed impressive, not just BIG, but also almost pedantically detailed! Well done creators, this big crustation is a winner to me. I noted that The Big Lobster gets plenty of photos, selfies, and inspections by the passer bys but it seems many visitors click, and then cross the road to the bakeries and other food places, this instead of taking a seat in the restaurant right behind the big orangey/red fella. I do hope that place gets good trade in the high seasons as its their parking area the photographers mostly use for a lot of their snapping events. I was fascinated by the home across from The Big Lobster.

This rating is for the giant lobster. I was just passing by and took a few photos. I did not enter the venue so can't comment on it. However, the outside area looked quite welcoming.

We stopped in Kingston SE during our road trip and saw the Big Lobster, also called Larry. It was really big and fun to see! Larry is 17 metres tall – that’s very tall for a lobster! You can walk up close to it and take photos. It was made in 1979 to help bring more tourists to the town. The claws and face look very cool, even though it’s a little old now. Kingston is a quiet town near the beach, and the Big Lobster is a great place to stop if you’re driving by. We had fun, took some photos, and got a coffee nearby. If you like seeing strange or funny things when you travel, you will like Larry the Lobster!

Lovely venue, pretty location, superb wines and a very nice cheese platter. The cheeses on the platter were absolutely sensational - best we have come across and very generous servings. Would definitely visit again. Very small thing - your olives are delicious, but the tiny ones sure are difficult to eat.

The location and venue is gorgeous, and the wine tasting with a platter was delicious. The staff were young and knowledgeable, bubbles were my favourite, definitely worth the visit

Venue is wonderful! Wines aren’t so much to my taste and beers are bitter focused but worth the visit! Was unfortunate we couldn’t do tastings!

We had the BEST day here on Easter Saturday! Had heard so many great reviews and the reality did not disappoint. We booked for the deck and the outlook over the vines was stunning ! We really enjoyed an assortment of the Loophole beers and Cape Jaffa bubbles with a really reasonably priced and delicious cheese board. Added bonus was the Dough and Dough pizzas which were so yum and the live music. Was such a fabulous afternoon.. congrats Cape Jaffa Winery for a creating such a great vibe ! Will be back !! 10/10

A beautiful afternoon, with a well explained wine appreciation and tasting by very knowledgeable staff. A charcuterie board wonderfully presented with some excellent wine chosen for review. A fantastic time had by all.

Enjoyed a wine tasting of Cape Jaffa's delicious biodynamic wines, guided by the beautiful Tully, whose personality and grace sparkled as much as the wines! Also met Ryan the kitty, (also a charmer). I shall come back in summer, when it's a tad warmer, as the views out over the vineyards are so lovely and peaceful. I highly recommend the biodynamic Shiraz and the Gewurtztraminer. Thank you!

Great beer and wine tasting with four complimentary samples. Staff have fantastic knowledge of their products with a welcoming friendly smile. Both indoor and outdoor seating, outdoor balcony over looks the vineyards with spectacular views. If you’re in the area I would strongly recommend coming to visit Cape Jaffa Wines, I will be back. Also Tesla car charging station for electric vehicles.

Wonderful location and outlook, great wines, and super friendly and helpful staff. We visited on Easter Sunday, a busy day with live music, and I suspect the wild weather just made the day busier and more stressful for the staff as tourists like us looked for cover! We had a large group and no booking as it was a ‘wing it’ kind of day for us, no expectations as we’re happy to go with the flow. The staff were awesome and continually provided improved locations for us as they became available throughout the venue. We were really impressed with how the team operated - have seen venues really struggle on days like that but these guys excelled under pressure. Thanks all for a great afternoon. Will be back to try more of the range.
