Hartley Historic Site is a well-preserved historic village that has been around for over 150 years. It was once a significant stop on the road to Bathurst and is now maintained by the National Parks and Wildlife Service. Visitors can purchase tickets at the reception for $8.80, granting access to the heritage courthouse and church with provided access codes. The Talisman workshop and gallery offer unique handmade art pieces, while a leisurely walk along the river and granite rock adds to the experience.
A slice of history, including court house and a nice Cafe. Great antiques store. Very friendly people, well worth a stop.

Ha ha, rested my 300 horse power ford chariot at hartley historic homestead on the adventure following the 1 hp explorers accross the great divide. It is an amazing place to go back in time to the 1880 where they stopped to have a rest on their 5-day journey across the blue mountains. Ha ha, population of 8 and two kangaroos. Great antique store and good Cafe. Ha ha, Would of got more stars of the boulders would role.lol

OPEN during the Christmas Holidays!! Such a beautiful and historic town, with little nooks to discover around every turn. The Gold Rush Antique store is likely the nicest and most authentic antique store in the blue mountains, and with it’s beautiful host: is an amazing experience itself. The short bush walk down the River Lett and the other near the Tor Rock is phenomenal. The aboriginal history transforms your perspective from the town of the 1800s to the native landscape Millenia past. I would highly recommend taking the time to visit this site, there’s free Quoits to play too!
Patrick M — Google review
Nice little museum. There are two buildings to visit. Unfortunately, the antique shop was closed (open Wednesday to Sunday) and the café was also closed (open Thursday to Sunday). We were there on a Tuesday, so I would recommend visiting on a different day.

Beautiful little historic stop. Everyone was absolutely lovely. Antiques Store, some lovely unique items. The Gallery, was incredible, so many beautiful unique items, incredibly talented. The visitor centre had beautiful aboriginal art. We walked around and looked at buildings. The public toilets a bonus, where so clean. Highly recommend to stop.

Is a historic village that exists for more than 150 years. Walk in to the visitors reception to buy ticket $8.80 for adults, this is to access into the heritage court house and the church. Reception will give you access code to unlock the digital lock. Also, Talisman workshop and gallery is a must to visit, many amazing hand-made art pieces. Not much people in the weekend morning. We spent 1 hour plus to visit here which including little walk to see the river and the granite rock.

It's not too busy out there. You will need to head directly to the visitors reception to get tickets. It was $8.8 for adults, reception will give you access codes to the heritage court house and the church. There's also the Talisman workshop and gallery which was amazing, a bit pricey but there are some affordable souvenirs. The river walk is a must, it was the best part of our visit.

Japanese Bath House (booking required)

The Japanese Bath House offers a serene and rejuvenating experience with its indoor and outdoor hot baths, cold plunge tube, and steam room. Visitors can even book a private bath for added relaxation. The atmosphere is tranquil, perfect for those seeking a peaceful retreat. The staff provides top-tier service and maintains the facility's cleanliness diligently. Guests can also enjoy manicured gardens and stunning views of Lake Lyell while indulging in various baths.
Sooooo relaxing and rejuvenating! We were nervous to visit on a rainy day but ended up feeling like that was the ideal weather - the warmth of the baths complemented perfectly. The massage was also amazing - the use of massage oils made it feel even more soothing and relaxing, and the masseuses were highly skilled. Some baths also had a view of the mountains and lake which was very calming and peaceful. We felt that the ambience of this place was much better than even some onsens in Japan (though you do pay for it). The food offered in the lovely tea room was fantastic too - a little pricey at about $20 per entree and $40 per main, but we really enjoyed the Onsen egg soup and yuzu green tea panna cotta. It tasted like the ingredients were quite high quality and considered. There is a wide selection of teas for $10 per single person teapot for a variety of different health benefits. I remember wishing there were more details on the website about the food (which is a shame since we ended up loving it!), so if this helps anyone, the entrees included edamame, teriyaki chicken wings, takoyaki, takikomi gohan (vegetable rice), seaweed salad, vegetable soup and Onsen egg soup. The mains included wagyu, unagi, and karaage chicken rice boxes, different types of udons and a stir fry pork. The desserts included matcha ice cream, mango mochi and the delicious yuzu green tea panna cotta (which also came with red bean). The atmosphere of the tea room was great with calming studio ghibli covers playing - there was also a Totoro themed bath area. Overall, it’s hard not to leave this place feeling completely destressed and rejuvenated, so we’d highly recommend. It isn’t a small price tag but especially for special occasions on a chilly day, we believe it’s worth it.

I recently visited the Japanese Bathhouse in the Blue Mountains and it was such an incredible experience. The entire space feels peaceful and serene, surrounded by beautiful views. The staff were warm, attentive, and made the whole experience seamless. There are plenty of options to unwind—private onsens, public baths, and even relaxation pods. They also offer massages and facials, which take it to the next level. Perfect for a solo escape or a relaxing day with someone special. Highly recommend!
Jackie W — Google review
A beauty gem in the middle or blue mountains. Good reflection of Japanese hospitality and welcome. This place is so popular that you might need to book months in advance. I had reservation for accommodation, SPA massage and bathhouse. All were great. Very refreshing, and stunning view. The only drawback during my stay was we were guided to the room and one of the floor chair was broken when we got in reported to reception and they said they will have it checked and replace. Went back after 3-4 hours the chair was still broken. Lack of communication was a bit disappointing. Other than that everything was great….
Bijay S — Google review
very good experience for my friends and i. would recommend booking a room nearby as it is quite the long drive and not really worth if you don't stay. pricing was very high for food but portions and taste was delicious. is always decently busy.
J L — Google review
Japanese bathhouse a beautiful hidden gem located just outside of Lithgow overlooking Lake Lyell, with traditional authentic Japanese hospitality offering arrange of different experiences, including herbal steam room various temperature baths throughout, accommodation, traditional style Japanese food massage, The bathhouse is beautifully manicured Property is like taking a step into a Japanese paradise with Koi fish Ponds bonsai style Trees and much more, Staff were friendly, very helpful and informative. On-site parking Ensure to bring own water bottle swimmers and towel. A little bit expensive for general admission, however worth the experience Food is a little bit expensive also. On-site parking. Would recommend for a relaxing getaway experience. Bookings are completely essential to secure time slots,
Ritchie W — Google review
Honestly don't really get the whole hype about this place. Probably because there aren't that many Japanese themed bath houses / spas around Sydney. No doubt the location has a beautiful view of the lake but that was mostly it. Its just a place for you to sit in mostly artificially painted hot tubs, even some of the paint was noticeably peeling off. The chlorine smell in every bath wasn't very pleasant for relaxation but otherwise the temperature was good. The atmosphere felt very fake and plastic, more like a theme park with the painted concrete, plastic walls, plastic bushes, plastic bamboo, painted tubs, etc rather than a natural oasis. The tea room looked lovely but the prices of tea and meals were too exorbitant to even consider, and you are not allowed to consume anything of your own apart from water. If they even let you, changing dates cost 30$ even if you book many months in advance. Overall for the price you pay the experience is interesting but I wouldn't say it was worth it.
Z K — Google review
You cannot turn up here without previously having booked online. There are no walk ins and no phone contact with the facility, everything is done online Plenty of parking with wheelchair accessible parking and entry. We were greeted by extremely friendly staff, who confirmed our booking, and then asked us to remove our shoes and socks and roll our pants up by 20 cm as we were about to walk through the warmest water, only ankle deep, to our next entry process. Here they give you a pair of thongs to walk around in and don't worry, you keep these thongs, they are brand new. You wear your locker key around your wrist and they are waterproof. So many different baths to discover. We especially loved the sauna. Lots of water refill stations and toilets spread throughout and a Japanese Cafe located within the facility. We came in spring, so still a chill in the air, which means you really appreciate the warmth of the baths. Had so much fun, will definitely be back next winter, even though they are open all year round , I think the heated pools and baths would be better appreciated in the colder months. Private rooms and baths available with massage services. You can pre book all this online. Just a little tip for anyone who feels the need to moisturise their skin after being in water. Bring some moisturiser with you for when your finished Amazing staff, highly recommend Will be back

Second time at the Japanese Bath House & had such a lovely experience. Had the 1 hr Private Buro experience & then spent three hours enjoying the different baths at the bath house. One of the highlights was the herbal steam room. The staff was extremely polite & accomodating & the traditional Japanese food enjoyed afterwards was delicious. Spent all afternoon here. Would highly recommend!

Seven Valleys 7V Visitor Information Centre - Lithgow

Visitor Centers
The car experienced a breakdown in the parking lot during a road trip, leading to feelings of confusion and frustration. Seeking assistance, a visit was made to the Seven Valleys Visitor Information Centre in Lithgow. The staff, including Vicki, Naomi, Bella the dog, and an unidentified owner, provided great comfort and support. They offered guidance on local campsites, recommended places for good food, and suggested interesting attractions while waiting for the car to be fixed.
With one day to spare we stopped in at the Lithgow tourist information centre and came out overwhelmed with ideas, not only for the immediate district, but for our forward journey as well. Niomi was delightful. So passionate and knowledgeable. She gave us some wonderful tips. So glad we called in. We couldn’t recommend this centre highly enough. Thank you.
Helen — Google review
Vicki was fabulous! She gave us so much information about Lithgow, some might say too, much I wouldn't, she left no stone unturned and gave us so many ideas that we were set for days! I've been to so many information centres during my travels, and she was the most knowledgeable and friendly of them all so far. Someone the things she told us about ended up really being the highlight of the mini trip through the blue mountains!
Kristen J — Google review
We are very glad we stopped here as Vicki was super helpful providing us with a range of different walks, 4WD tracks and sights in the surrounds (her hand-drawn maps were great!) Huge thanks to Vicki for her knowledge and recommendations - including the must see Lost City and Indigenous meeting places (the women’s meeting place is spectacular). Both pictured. There is so much more we want to come back and see.
Elena K — Google review
We travelled down from Brisbane and called in looking for some maps and info or ideas on the hikes as we had limited time in the area. We were attended to by Vicki and I must say we left there with maps in hand, an itinerary with options and a hop in our step. Vicki is so knowledgeable and passionate about the area it would be hard to not be excited. We completed day 1 with a few extra options and can’t be happier. Thanks Vicki, you are such a great ambassador for the area
Michael M — Google review
Vicki was truly exceptional! She shared a wealth of information about the Blue Mountains, leaving no detail overlooked and providing us with so many ideas that fueled our inspiration for days, we are now extending out trip here just to fit it all in. I could’ve listen to Vicki for hours with her knowledge of the local area.

I had fantastic experiences, the staff were very helpful and friendly, they showed me great Lookouts to visit.
Mark D — Google review
Thanks Vicki for excellent customer service and recommendations, we did a dog friendly walk which we would not have known about if not for Vicki
Jessica D — Google review
We stopped in here a couple of times, each time Vicki gave us great ideas, and also clear directions on how to get there. I must say that we would never have found the Lost City without her. I think they are very fortunate to have Vicki working there. She was fun, knowledgeable and super helpful. A wonderful place!

Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit

Car racing venue
Sights & Landmarks
Home of the Bathurst 1000 event, this road-race circuit has uphill stretches with panoramic views.
I came here because my husband is a big fan of cars and racing, and honestly, I’m so happy we checked it out. Mount Panorama Racing Circuit is amazing, the track is iconic and you can really feel the history and excitement just by being there. Walking around and seeing the circuit up close was something special. But the best part was definitely seeing my husband’s smiling face enjoying every moment. Whether you’re into motorsports or just curious, this place is definitely worth a visit. It’s an experience you won’t forget!
Zella B — Google review
A true icon and amazing destination for not only car racing fans. The views are beautiful, especially on a clear winter morning with the low cloud across parts of the town. Everyone you speak to on the mountain has a smile on their face. The walk is awesome and a great heart starter before jumping back in the car for a 3 hour drive. Thoroughly recommend the visit.
Roadcraft R — Google review
One of the all time greatest experiences of a life time. All fans of motorsport need to go to Mt Panorama, Bathurst at least once in your life. Awesome!
W Q — Google review
Finally made it to Mount Panorama, and wow, what an experience! Even when there’s no race on, just driving the circuit at normal speed gives you chills. The elevation changes, the sharp turns, the views over Bathurst… it’s unreal to imagine the pros flying through it at full speed. I stopped a few times to take in the scenery and honestly, every corner has history written all over it. The National Motor Racing Museum nearby is also worth the visit. So much passion and heritage packed into one place. Whether you’re into motorsport or just love a scenic drive with serious Aussie character, Mount Panorama is a must-visit. I left with a full heart, a phone full of photos, and a huge smile. Can’t wait to go back! 🏁🇦🇺
Aslaan S — Google review
It was interesting to have a look at the track and get an idea of what it's like to drive around. Speed limit is 60 can't imagine the speed the drivers do and in terrible weather conditions like this year. They are crazy or very brave
Pamela R — Google review
Nice track to drive for a taste of the car race even at 60km/h. The view at top of the mountain is wonderful

Machattie Park

Mentioned on
12 lists
Park
Nature & Parks
Machattie Park, established in 1890, is a prime example of a late 19th-century Victorian country town park. It replaced the Old Bathurst Gaol and boasts mature trees such as Huntingdon Elms, Bunya Pine, and Atlas Cedar. The park features attractions like a bandstand, Caretakers Cottage, Crago Fountain, Fernery, Lake Spencer, and Munro Drinking Fountain.
An understated and under-visited park in central Bathurst; wide and broad lungs for the city. A good mix of open grass and trees with a very clean amenity block. Plenty of on-street parking. Allow twenty minutes for the shortest of inspections
David M — Google review
Machattie Park is a delight of trees, flowers, bird life, bees, water fountains, a pond with koi. While it definitely got that 1890s vibe vis-a-vis design, content and experience - that's its strength. And more power to Bathurst for keeping it as vintage as possible - while of course each generation has added to it via addition of trees in the 1940s and modern plumbing I'm sure! Some trees have plaques which is great, I wish all of them did, kinda like a tree zoo. I am not a local so I don't come here that often (I'm here for the 1000 most Octobers) but when here I do like walking through it even if its just getting from one part of town to the other.
Par H — Google review
Beautiful Park in Bathurst and a credit to Council and the community. Filled with meandering paths, old established trees, heritage rotunda, duck pond and planted flower beds. The Boronia house is well worth a visit for nature lovers and free entry. The Park surrounds the heritage court house and trees are home to an array of wildlife with possums to be seen day and night. There are public toilets and plenty of parking. Highly recommended ❤️
Gretchen A — Google review
Beautiful garden with various flowers collection. Very quiet when we visited which is good as then we get more chance to enjoy the garden for ourselves.
Peny S — Google review
A lovely little park modelled on the city parks of Victorian Britain. There is a lovely fernery and, in season, fabulous blooms in the begonia house plus a fanciful fountain, picnic tables and a bandstand. The Christmas Carol Party is a summer treat with music and Santa and lots of fun.
Allan C — Google review
Disappointed most of the park is closed off for some reason. Can’t see any reason why. Managed to see the ducks and the koi in the pond through the fence. And a possum was awake through the day eating a piece of apple someone had given him.
Shez H — Google review
Lovely park for picnics and the ever changing trees and flowering shrubs and plants are very pretty. View the ducks and turtles in the Spencer fountain. Follow the paths that weave around through the park. In the park you will find a lovely little enclosed fernery with a cute little path to walk around and the Begonia House with a stunning display of beautiful colourful Begonias.
Karen D — Google review
Jan-22: a lot nicer now, the park seems very well maintained. Some areas still closed due to covid Jul-20: During covid, parts of the park are closed... It was mid July when we went, and I think autumn would be the best time to visit.

The Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum, housed in a former school building dating back to 1876, is a renowned destination for enthusiasts of fossils, minerals, and dinosaur skeletons. It is home to the prestigious Somerville Collection featuring over 2000 mineral and fossil specimens including a complete T-Rex skeleton and fossilized dinosaur eggs. Visitors can explore the museum's fascinating displays showcasing rare and scientifically significant minerals from around the world.
This is a small, compact museum with very interesting information about what kind of minerals are found in Australia and what they are used for. It shows lots of different ones, and had a Lego theme for the little ones. It also has various puzzles, games and 3 play areas to keep the young ones engaged and entertained. There is a huge dinosaur skeleton and multiple videos about mining, and how various minerals are found. The shop is also great, with lots of different items to buy. I recommend the visit.
Anne R — Google review
A wonderful little gem of a museum! Pun fully intended. We came with our kids on a weekday during school hours and it was pretty quiet. We had lots of space to explore the beautiful old rooms filled with spectacular mineral and fossil specimens. The displays are laid out with great visual appeal and well written educational information. We greatly appreciated the hands-on experiences for small children especially the microscope and dinosaur toys. Also the picnic table in the courtyard for a bit of morning tea before we entered. Staff were friendly and helpful, bathrooms clean and well maintained. Overall a lovely experience. I would recommend about 1.5-2 hours.

Wealth of history living in this cozy and compact museum! Awe inspiring displayed of collections around the country and globe! Quite a fascinating place where kids/adults in fact all ages people can learn about the past. We spent quite a long time inside the museum and learned a lot! Every pieces of collection has its own unique history and features. A must visit place for everyone! Highly recommended.
Tanzir A — Google review
Such a great museum with permanent fossil / mineral displays and other cool temporary exhibitions. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and clearly love this place. Shout out to the descriptions of tumble rocks and crystals at the gift shop, factual and science-based instead of wishy washy energetic 'benefit'.
Crystal N — Google review
A fascinating variety of minerals despite the small size, they had an engaging perioidic table and how they excavate the minerals, perfect for primary school aged kids.
Wendy L — Google review
Loved this museum! Our grandsons loved the T-rex skeleton (they were huge!), the fossils and the insects and animals in amber. I loved the displays connecting the periodic table to modern living; they are an inspired way to show how these minerals are used today. The mineral displays were beautifully presented with good information.
Karen L — Google review
Very modern and interactive museum specifically tailored for kids. Stunningly set in an old church. The T-Rex skeleton was fantastic, and so many things to touch and feel, and history of the earth video was great. Only a few small rooms here though, and an hour is enough. Definately worth a visit though.

Best place we visited near Bathurst! A fantastic place with so much to look at. We had a good talk to the owner as well which made it even more interesting. He tells us that they will be opening the basement level with the kitchens very soon. I’d be delighted to go back.

A timeless gem in Bathurst! Abercrombie House is one of those places that completely transports you to another era. From the moment I stepped onto the grounds, I could feel the history and character of this magnificent 19th-century mansion. The Scottish Baronial-style architecture is stunning. Every gable, tower and stone detail tells a story. We were blown away by how beautifully the Morgan family has preserved the estate since the 1960s. The rooms are filled with antiques, period furniture, and little touches that make you imagine what life was like here over a century ago. The gardens and surrounding grounds are lovely, peaceful, green, and perfect for a slow stroll or photo moment. I can tell this place is looked after with real care and passion. Whether you’re into architecture, history, or just want a relaxing and memorable outing in Bathurst, Abercrombie House is an absolute must-visit.

A beautifully preserved house with a lovely collection of antique and historical items. It offers a charming glimpse into the past and is definitely worth a visit. We even spotted a beautiful peacock and two friendly cats during our visit — a delightful surprise that added to the charm of the place!

Most interesting place we visited around Bathurst. Will be even bone, since we were speaking to the owner and he said that the basement level - all the kitchens and associated - have been cleaned up and will be opened up, and probably are by now…

A beautiful house in Bathurst being restored by a passionate couple. Some rooms haven't been done yet but most have & they're lovely. The more people who visit means more work can be done! Worth a visit & a stroll around the grounds to meet the resident peacocks & see the vintage car collection.

One of the newer wineries in Orange, but boasting a very interesting range of whites. The 2013 Arneis was our favourite: a complex and floral wine with notes of pear. Rob was an extremely welcoming host and we would definitely return for more.

Felicia, our host at the cellar door, was friendly, welcoming and entertaining with her knowledgeable discussion about their wines. The wine, it was difficult to decide which I liked the most as they were all very good.

The Highland Heritage Cellar Door, established in 1946, is renowned for its rich wine making legacy in Orange City. This exceptional establishment does not offer online reservations, so contacting them via email is recommended. Their responsiveness and excellent service are highly praised. The friendly host, Sue, warmly welcomes guests and takes the time to provide insights into the winery's history and surroundings. They offer a wide selection of remarkable Rieslings that are expertly explained by Sue.
We really enjoyed our wine tasting at Highland Heritage. We were the only ones there, and got to taste plenty of interesting wines while learning about the history of the winery. It is quite different to other wineries in the region, and is well worth a stop if you're passing by.

Were there recently with wife. It’s a great place treated well with informative wine tasting. Bought quite a few bottles of wine and now on the receipt wine tasting 2 for $10 in addition to all the bottles we bought. At no place did I see we were going to be charged. If I saw the charge I would’ve willingly accepted the wine tasting charge. Even it there was a sign it was inconspicuous hidden. That’s why I gave it 3 stars otherwise it would’ve been higher.

My partner and I were traveling down from QLD to visit her family. We decided to try a winery whilst we were there. Mind you this was our first time trying wine together. Have to say it was a fantastic experience. The lady that was hosting, I unfortunately forgot her name - apologies, she was great. She made the room feel warm and welcoming. Thank you we will be back again when we next visit.

Drove in as we were passing by and saw the open sign on the way to Dubbo. Good thing we turned in. We had a lovely time with Sue as the only customers and she explained the wines very easily for us. Tasting was also very special as we tried the same wines over different years to observe the change in tastes. They had unique wines and very reasonable prices.

Here’s a shorter version you can use: --- A wonderful cellar door experience! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the wines were excellent, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Left with some great bottles and even better memories:) It is better to book in advance for wine tasting experience, it is only 5$, but you get to try so many different types of wine! Highly recommend.

The inviting atmosphere at Moody's allows guests to feel at home as they sip on delicious vintages and engage in stimulating conversations with Mr. Moody himself, all while enjoying the breathtaking view of the surrounding fields.
Paid a visit to Moody Wines in Orange over the long weekend. One of the most memorable and hospitable wine tastings I've ever had. Tony shared wonderful anecdotes and his passion for French wines; and his trusty dog Hannah was a sweetheart. Would definitely recommend trying the Rosé and Orange Vin! An overall great experience!

From the moment we met our guide Kristie at our meeting place in Lithgow to when we were dropped back 3 hours later we had the most interesting and adventurous experience! Kristie confidently drove us down the (very) steep alternate road built after the original Wolgan Rd was severely damaged by landslides. Once down into the valley we were delighted to see a great variety of birds whilst Kristie shared her extensive knowledge not only of the birds but the whole valley including its geological history. Morning tea was very special with locally baked cake, fruit and expresso coffee – all whilst standing in a paddock under the beautiful gums of the valley. I would highly recommend Wolgan Valley Eco Tours and look forward to our next adventure with Kristie!

Glow Worm 🐛 Tunnel Walk What an amazing day we had with Kristie doing the Glow Worm Tunnel Walk. Kristie is so knowledgeable and passionate about the area. The views were exceptional photos did not do them any justice. The Glow Worm tunnel was a highlight for us as we have been waiting some time to get there. The food provided was very nice and fresh. We thoroughly enjoyed your company Kristie and enjoyed the day out with you. Would highly recommend
Erika F — Google review
Over the June long weekend Kristie took our family of three (two adults and a 9 year old) on 2 wonderful tours in Wolgan Valley. We did the bush walk to the Glow Worm tunnel through the beautiful Wollemi National Park on the first day and a bird watching tour on our second day. Kristie came prepared with torches for the tunnels and binoculars for bird watching. Kristie is knowledgable on all local wildlife, birds and plant species. Her knowledge of the local area and it’s history is second to none. Kristie took the time to explain the impact of recent weather and the 2019 bushfires have had on the wildlife and fauna of national park. It was very educational and fascinating. The glow worm tour took us about 7 hours because we were slow walkers taking everything in. This is definitely a walk that should be done with a guide. Some tracks were closed due to land slides and parts of the park are off limits. A guide will ensure you are walking in the safe areas of the park whilst having minimal impact on an environment that’s still recovering from the bushfires. The bird tour was lots of fun without too much walking. We spotted several local species and helped Kristie document them for records as part of citizen science. We had a great weekend and would definitely recommend Kristie and Wolgan Valley Eco Tours.

Our birding tour with Kristie was a wonderful experience. She showed us the birds, animals, vegetation and geology of the Wolgan Valley in the Blue Mountains with knowledge and enthusiasm. We will cherish our memory of this trip with you Kristie and remember the Wolgan Valley for the truly unique place it is.

My partner and I booked this tour, and from the start Kristie was amazing! We didn't get the best weather, but she was excellent at communicating the options and the plan for the day. Kristie was very knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate - not just about her tour and her work, but passionate about ensuring her guests have an excellent experience in the Lithgow outdoors. We had a lovely time, learned a lot, and were glad to have found this gem of a tour! The food provided, provided from Lavendar Hill Graze, was also fresh and exceptional! We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wishes to experience more of the Blue Mountains!

We certainly enjoyed the birding tour provided by Kristie (Wolgan Valley Eco Tours). Her passion and knowledge of the area, and the wildlife made the visit memorable. We highly recommend this tour.

The tour was amazing much more than we expected. Kristie gave an informative commentary with loads of local knowledge and experience. Some of the highlights were watching the sunrise over the Wolgan Valley, seeing a Regent Honeyeater and the yummy morning tea.

My favorite National Park is driving distance from Sydney! Easy to get to and lots of interesting terrains, including river crossing. The kids had a blast.
Lucas Z — Google review
Nice NP to enjoy some downtime without crowds even on a holiday weekend. Camping needs self sufficiency. There are toilets only at the official camp grounds. Needs AWD and good growth clearance to get in and out and there are a few rivers to wade. Downsides are the minority of people hooning around damaging the tracks, and leaving litter, esp. toilet paper near camp sites and river. Access some interesting 4WD tracks from here.
Richard G — Google review
A beautiful national park to visit. Two main campgrounds which can be booked online. The diggings campground has a drop toilet. No other amenities available. Requires you to be self sufficient (bring your own water) and take your rubbish out. Requires a 4wd for access. Other side of national park enters Sunny corner state forest and the landmark known as the Pinnacle.
Scott B — Google review
Turon River National Park is a fabulous destination for adventurers with an offroad 4wd vehicle. Your regular car won't make it so bring your truck for this destination. There are abundant secluded camping sites and lots of gold mining history too. Ammenities included picnic tables, fire rings and drop toilets. The river flows clean and clear and good deep swimming holes can be found. Bring the whole family for a camping adventure they will remember.
Wesley W — Google review
This is the place for a great escape from the city hustle and bustle. It seems like a million miles away but it is a leisurely couple of hours drive. There are designated camping areas within the National Park and there is a selection of accommodation choices from Turon Gates eco stay. They have lots of isolated cabins that can accommodate a variety of numbers of people as well as 'glamping' if that is what you prefer. Picnic areas down by the Turon River are idyllic. All in all it is well worth the visit.
Peter J — Google review
This is a must for any serious camper or offroader. This has plenty of campsites with quite a few of them have an area ready for a fire. There are beautiful views of the Turon rivers and plenty of sight seeing and photo opportunities. This is a free camp spot with a toilet. Also, if you need supplies it is only a short drive to Capertee for fuel, food and much more

Glen Davis Works is a historic site located in the Capertee Valley, Australia. It used to be an oil shale mine back in the 1950s and now stands as an abandoned facility resembling a ghost town. The tours of this site provide informative insights into its history and offer plenty of photo opportunities. Visitors can explore the original levee bank surrounding the refinery and experience the peaceful camping area.
It is an interesting piece of Australian history. What used to be an oil mine back in the 50s now is an abandoned facility which resembles a ghost town. Definitely worth a visit just to experience the atmosphere of the place. Imagine what it was like when it was bustling many decades ago only to be slowly reclaimed by nature today.

You apparently cannot get in there without the guided tour. We drove all the way out to it because everywhere it says it is “recommended” to get the tour, but apparently it is required, as the road is completely closed. They wrote a sign with who to contact for the tour but there is no mobile coverage at all so it is impossible to call anyone. I just wish you were allowed in there somehow when it is not Saturday.

An important part of Australia's oil shale history. My wife and I took the tour on the 20/2/2021and found it to be very informative. Our friendly tour guide Graeme meet us at the gates a bit before 5pm on the Saturday evening. We were joined by another couple joining the tour before driving through the gates and following our guide to the original levee bank surrounding the site of the refinery. Graeme talked about the creation of the oil shale and other geological features of the valley before we walked down the road to the remains of the refinery gates. As we continued along the concrete driveway we stopped at different locations and were given detailed descriptions of each section of the site along with some history relating to each of the areas. This is a tour I would recommend to anybody. It has so much to offer with stunning views of towering sandstone cliffs surrounding the refinery runes, wildlife of all descriptions and with the afternoon light the opportunity to capture some great photographic images. I also purchased the Glen Davis hard cover book from our guide at the end of the tour which is loaded with information and wonderful images of the past. I would recommend ringing ahead and confirming you interest in a tour. This way if you are running a little late you won't miss out as you will be expected. For tour information see, glendavis.com.au

Well worth a visit if checking out the old Hill End Gold Mining village. Just a short drive up the hill out of town and provides a great view overlooking the countryside. Also a fantastic photo opportunity. I put my camera on a tripod and with a 10sec release, was able to capture a photo of us on the seat. If you forget your tripod, don't worry, there is a bollard here with screw for your camera to place on top to get a 10sec shutter release photo. A visit to Hill End is not complete without driving up to Beaufoy Merlin lookout for your photo opportunity.
Aussirose T — Google review
Amazing view but the lookout is basically just the edge of a cliff/extremely steep embankment (no fence or rail) with a bench seat and history info board. The ground in the area is very loose and rocky underfoot making you a bit anxious trying to enjoy the view whilst watching your footing and being safe.
Samantha S — Google review
Great views along the valley from this lookout. A great place for sunrise. The road in is a bit rough and there is only a small turning circle and basically no parking once you arrive at the lookout. Still managed to get the motorhome in though! Less tree blockage than the nearby Split Rock Lookout, so you actually get a better view from here.

It is ok… not much for look out… we can see some of the mining entrances….road is very rusty… not much car parking.. we spent barely 10 mins

Stunning look out point with secret entrance to loop around 4x4 4WD track. On the way up to Merlins lookout there is a road to the right with "no through road" and if you turn there and go past the commerical shed down a bit you can jump onto a 4x4 track that loops around to the Hill End Tip. You will definitely need a 4WD, unlike the bridle track it's a little more difficult

If you decide to go, a long path awaits you where you can watch kangaroos, goats, and sheep along the way. I had a great time going there with my kids. Really cool experience, the mines were stunning! It felt like if you were a gold miner in the 1800s! The ladders at the end of the mine were a bit sketchy, but I was more focused on how amazing everything was! The museum I personally didn't find that interesting, some parts were cool but I really wanted to just move through to the mines. HEADS UP IF YOU GO HERE!! They don't take card! Make sure to bring cash with you, $10 pp... If you forget cash then you have to drive 5 minutes into the hill end town and bank transfer at the "hill end general store" so bring cash! Also there was literally no one there at opening (10:00am)

For my two Minecraft loving son's - they wanted to visit the mine!!! And it didn't dissapoint. The museum is thorough and extensive and really interesting, but the underground mine is a really wonderful experience, we went through three times and climbed the scary exit ladders! Great fun for everyone, no matter your speed or interest.

We recently had the pleasure of experiencing an unexpected surprise visit to History Hill which turned out to be a fascinating journey through Australian and Gold history, even incorporating some Chinese aspects. The museum was a treasure trove of artifacts, exhibits, displays and rooms showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region. The museum also had an extensive collection of gold nuggets, coins, and other artifacts, highlighting the importance of gold in shaping Australia's economy and history. The exhibits provided a fascinating insight into the lives of the prospectors and the impact that the gold rush had on the Australian landscape and economy. The museum had several exhibits that showcased the contributions of the Chinese miners, including their innovative mining techniques and their cultural traditions. It was eye-opening to see how the Chinese culture had influenced the development of the mining industry in Australia, and how they had adapted to life in a new and unfamiliar land. Our unexpected visit to this local museum was an unforgettable experience. I was impressed by the breadth and depth of the exhibits, and the interactive displays made the history come alive. We highly recommend this museum to anyone interested in Australian history, mining, or just looking for a fascinating and educational day out. Although it is looking a bit tired and dated, it is well worth going! But remember TAKE CASH! $10 per adult! But absolutely worth it! Seriously though, take cash. The whole town operates on cash (or gold if you're lucky enough to find it!).
Yvette H — Google review
Cash only to get in, just to warn you. But there is an amazing amount of history in there. From old guns, to mining equipment, to old Christening gowns. Plus the mine itself. Definitely recommend, incredible value for the price of entry.
Elaine S — Google review
So much history packed into a nicely curated museum. I love reading all the notes the owner left in each display. It likes going back in time. The place is well-maintained and thank you for preserving the history of the area. The 7 ladder climb is so much fun, everyone should give this place a go. Hill End township is lovely with so many kangaroos. Highly recommend for anyone visiting NSW west center.

Thanks Cindy and John. We had a great time on the kayak tour yesterday. Our kayak tour guide, Cindy, pointed out so many things that would would not have seen, such as tortoises peeking their heads above the river surface, an abandoned willie wagtail nest, a bird and nest in the reeds, a darter bird, cormorants, as well as information about the area. They provided each person with a watertight bag for our cameras, or mobile phones, so we could take photos along our paddle. The kayaking was leisurely and nit difficult at all. The cicadas were in full song. I would highly recommend this company, whether you do the kayak tour, or just a kayak hire.

Had a fantastic time kayaking on the Cudegong River. The folks at Southern Cross Kayaking were really helpful and friendly. We hired a 2 person kayak for 1 hour, which was just enough time for us to kayak to the damn and back. The view of the rock formations along the river banks were just incredible.

Such a beautiful spot, and so perfect to be able to hire kayaks or paddle boards on site. We had a great day exploring the weir side of the lake, as well as the kids coming back the next day to take a paddle board to the spot where people jump off the rocks. Cindy and John are very friendly and knowledgeable, and dealt very patiently with a delay due to someone returning their hire very late. We would definitely love to come again.

What a beautiful experience. Starting from the drive from Mudgee through meandering hills and farms to the kayaking itself. We took our 6 year old for her first ever kayak . The owners were so friendly and helpful and explained everything so simply. Kayaks were in excellent condition and the surrounding nature was just beautiful. A lovely diversion from the wineries especially with kids. My daughter loved it, especially being given a picture of animals to identify on the way. We also had a swim in the lake at the end to cool off.Highly recommend the experience. The road towards the end is a mixture of dirt and gravel but no problem in a car.

De Beaurepaire Wines

Winery
Food & Drink
De Beaurepaire Wines, established in 1998 and nestled in the Blue Mountains at an altitude of 570600m, offers a sensory journey for wine enthusiasts. The winery is renowned for its French-style wines and provides a delightful experience for visitors. The Voyage du vin experience is highly recommended, offering an informative and welcoming session with Richard, who shares insights into each wine and the terroir.
I had the absolute pleasure of visiting De Beaurepaire Wines in Rylstone over the long weekend and it was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Sydney! A massive thank you to Will and Richard for making our day so memorable, you truly are legends! 🤩 As a European, I was immediately captivated by the French vibes at the winery. Their Rosé? Simply delightful - fresh and floral, making you want to sip and savour every drop. And the reds? Just as impressive, with rich flavours that reflect their commitment to quality and sustainable winemaking. I found myself almost wanting to start a wine appreciation club on the spot! 🥂🍷 But the highlight of the day was definitely Sasha, the customer service guru (and hands-down the cutest dog around). She welcomed us like we were long-lost friends and even walked us to the car like our personal bodyguard. Now, that’s service you don’t find just anywhere! 🐾 With fantastic wines and a warm atmosphere, De Beaurepaire has officially become my favourite winery in NSW. If you haven’t been yet, you’re really missing out! I have no doubt that when you visit, it’ll be an unforgettable experience. De Beaurepaire is a six-star winery in a five-star world, don’t miss it! ⭐️

This is one of the wineries that is a must when visiting Mudgee. It's not far, but their wines are always delicious, with a wine tasting that is very insightful, educational and led by truly passionate owners. The wines are just excellent. The setting is beautiful, with outdoor seating available to enjoy the surroundings with a good bottle of wine.
Carlito — Google review
What an amazing winery with a truly unique offering - French style wines made from grapes grown in soil that is similar to French wine regions’ soils (limestone). We opted for the Vouage Du Vin experience which was hosted by the owner Richard and what an amazing experience that was! We tasted about 10 wines, including many reserve wines, and learned so much about terroir, wine making, grape varieties, etc. You have an option to order a cheese or charcuterie board with your tasting, which we highly recommend as it brings out so many different flavours in the wine. Besides, French wine is meant to be had with food. The winery itself is located in a very picturesque location away from the buzz of Mudgee and is perfect if you are looking to enjoy your wine in an idyllic, picture perfect location.
Eva V — Google review
We have gotten our wine club order, always exciting to see what the wines taste like. We ordered some Viognier, OMG, amazing, very floral with a beautiful mouthfeel, it’s a 2024. Very well balanced. I wish I’d ordered more. Beware though, it’s a 14.1% alcohol content. Another favourite is the Rose. Actually, we’ve enjoyed all the wines from here, very consistent. We’ve been travelling for 20 months, we’ve experienced wine regions from all over Australia and this Winery continues to impress us every delivery we get. Can’t wait for the next delivery. (I’m on top of changing our addresses to make sure we don’t miss out). 😁🍾🥂

What a fabulous afternoon we had at the spectacular De Beaureapaire Wines! Such a stunning setting and fabulous hosts so generous with their time and knowledge of their beautiful wines! Highly recommend if you are travelling the road less travelled through the gorgeous village of Rylstone - well worth a visit!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This was my second time visiting De Beaurepaire and it was just as memorable as the first! A couple of years ago, Jeannette gave us an amazing introduction to French-style wines — educational and thoroughly enjoyable. This time, I brought new friends along and had the pleasure of hearing Richard share the rich story behind the winery. Such a special experience! Highly recommend a visit — especially for those who think they’re not into red wine. This is definitely the place to start. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

Very very nice family owned vineyard. I would say I had an amazing wine tasting experience here. The wine is superb, the staff and owners gave us really good introduction to the vineyard and the wine. The place and wine is very frenchy, elegant and relaxing❤️

Chose to spend a day in Rylstone and was not disappointed! Popped into De Beaurepaire Winery for first time. Received first class service from Gabrielle. To our delight the owner of the vineyard paid us personal attention by sitting with us and explaining both the history of the winery and its processes. Highly recommend a day trip to Rylstone and don’t forget to book a visit to this intimate winery.

Fantastic experience at Logan Wine's cellar door! Emma was absolutely wonderful, and the wine was exceptional. We particularly enjoyed the 2024 Logan Chardonnay and Logan Shiraz. It is definitely worth trying and stocking up on some of those bottles. The setting was stunning, with a beautiful overhanging room featuring glass walls that show views of the vineyards. Thank you so much Emma for your passion, knowledge and recommendations for places to visit in the area!

Fabulous wine tasting. Some different grape varieties i hadn't had in a long time and really enjoyed them. Staff friendly and knowledgeable and they tailored my wine tasting to me and wines I was interested in trying. Bought several wines. The cheese board was delicious. Was noisy with a large group in there but once they left it was very pleasant. Stunning views highly recommend. If you love your wines and Interested in the opportunity to taste some different varieties this is for you. They still have the good old staples and they are done beautifully. So glad we popped in.

A beautiful cellar door with stunning views across the vineyard. The wine selection is excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed our tasting experience with a very knowledgeable host. In our opinion this is by far the bestest walk in the mudgee, area, personally the drive in is only suitable for 4x4, there was plenty of parking in the carpark, as well as seating and fire pits for a BBQ, or a picnic, and toilets, overall the walk can be a little challenging, the gully its self is quite incredible and gives a mysterious feeling, towards the end there is a rocky obstacle, that requires a little effort, however, this is an experience not to be missed.
V H — Google review
Stunning walk however not small child friendly in many places. I had my child in a carrier and struggled climbing some sections.
Karly M — Google review
A great spot to spend the day strolling along the marked walking tracks. The drive into the parking area is not too bad but caution is needed if your car has low clearance. There are solid fuel BBQ's here but no wood supplied for there use.
No A — Google review
I must say we had a creepy feeling driving into here and weren't fit enough to walk far along the track. I was very disappointed.
Robyn L — Google review
Great little spot for an explore … don’t let a rainy/drizzly day put you off cos being in the gully, amongst the ferns as the water trickled down the walls and low flow streams wandered amongst the rocks really made it! Really worthwhile walk with the odd rock to hop or fallen tree to climb over so need to be ready and able for that - kids of all ages would love it as would most active walkers. Excellent views from the top as well to show the gully from above … and plan for a stop in Rylstone after … although we didn’t pick a good moment midweek to get a mid-afternoon coffee … Go explore though!
D L — Google review
Amazing walk through a shady fern covered gorge, followed by a board walk swampy area then another valley floor - all quite unusual & would not be out of place in a hobbit movie - then a long climb on the stairs before rounding the bend to a much drier climate & rocky surrounds for amazing views of the valley below. Definitely worth the trip!

My partner and I were recently in Mudgee for an engagement party. I plotted our little side quest and we decided to go to Burnbrae Wines as it was just down the road from Honey Haven. Our experience at Burnbrae wines was the best! The service was amazing, the wines that we tasted were outstanding and the pizza was so tasty! We had only planned to stay for an hour, but got chatting to the new owners and stayed for 2 1/2 hours whilst enjoying the amazing Savy B. Visually the winery is stunning & rustic with a true county feel. I just loved the Savy B & the Rose. We highly recommended you make some time when in Mudgee to visit this beautiful winery. 10/10
Donna J — Google review
Super welcoming and knowledgeable hosts, excellent wines to try, and a delicious antipasto plate loaded with local goodies. All enjoyed on a quiet verandah shaded by a giant grape vine. If you're travelling through Mudgee a lot of cellar doors are closed during the week. Burnbrae is open and it was not crowded on our mid week lunch time visit. We purchased their sparkling white and a Shiraz. If you want to experience a Mudgee wine tasting then I definitely recommend you try this place. It's not far from the Honey place just down the road.

Wife and I visited this place over the long weekend. Attended to by the owner. Lovely lady who was an absolute crack up. Great attentiveness and service. Also the pizza was to die for. A bit of a pizza snob here and this was in my top 3. Cracker crust and a wood fire pizza that’s not sloppy and watery

Being a wedding photographer and working at Burnbrae often, I knew I needed to get married here! We chose Burnbrae, Not just because of their incredible wine and beer but because of the versatility. We really envisioned a wedding that was fully outside under the fairy lights and they didn’t disappoint! The fact that it also has an amazing wet weather option really made our decision final. Dotty and the Burnbrae team were amazing to work with and made our wedding so much fun. Nothing was ever an issue for Dotty and she was so helpful in every aspect of our day. She literally made our wedding dreams come to life. All of our guests are still talking about how good the day was. We are so glad to have booked Burnbrae and it will always have a special place in our hearts. Thank you so much to Dotty and the Burnbrae team. – Steph & Tom

Mudgee Honey Haven is a must-visit spot in Mudgee, easily accessible from Sydney via the Blue Mountains. The farm gate trail offers an array of local and fresh produce, including cherries, figs, hazelnuts, olives, beef, pomegranates, garlic, desert limes, stone fruits, lamb and honey. At Mudgee Honey Haven itself you can taste different varieties of honey and try skin care products made with honey.
Great shop that sells everything with honey. We tried choc, strawberry, vanilla ice cream, and the best is their honey ice cream! They mead wine is good as well.

Great place to try and learn more about honey. The woman that helped us was so friendly, happy to chat with my son about his questions on bees. The self serve tasting was so good, we had no idea there were so many favoured honey options. The whole shop was full of all sorts of great products. Very neat and clean. We left with lots of honey and even tried their ice cream which was excellent. This is worth the visit.

They used to have a demonstration of bee hive and honey extraction process which is closed for a while. Besides that’s is just a retail shop now and with higher price tag. You can their honey and have a coffee if you are driving by

Not far from town. What a lovely place. There’s a variety of honey to taste before buying. Lots of varieties to choose from and there’s choc honey comb chocolate for sale as well. Small cafe in the front which sells honey flavoured ice creams. Car park available on site. Highly recommended.
Raj A — Google review
Great shop with so many products related to honey and bees wax. There’s a central honey tasting area, a sample of lotions and scrubs, and a cafe that sells honey flavoured ice creams which were delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful, always asking if you need any help. They’re quite funny too even when having problems with the credit card machines. Made for a nice little shopping trip.

Such an amazing winery with an incredibly talented wine-maker. Well worth a visit. Tony is crafting amazing, bespoke wines using cutting edge wine making techniques resulting in beautifully complex wines that are delicious and special. Very small batch and really just in general an experience not to be missed, especially if you are interested and knowledgable about wine. Thank you Tony for waiting for us at closing time, and showing us your beautiful creations! We can't wait for our box to arrive.

Phenomenal wines at Short Sheep Micro Winery. Tony’s passion and knowledge shines through with the quality of wines. One of the best tasting experiences in Mudgee. If you can only get to a few cellar doors while in Mudgee, make sure you visit Short Sheep. Don’t be put off by the ‘Micro’ in name - it means care and quality in the wine making.

Wow I have no words to describe this place. Tony owns and runs this place and he is just so lovely. We did a tasting with complimentary food pairing and it was beyond our imagination. I've tried wines from all over Australia (literally) and this place was spectacular. Thank you Tony for introducing an avid red wine drinker to Chardonnay. I can't wait for my next wine delivery!!
M S — Google review
Ah, this may be a micro winery but it is macro on everything else - from Tony's wonderfully engaging ability as a storyteller to his passion for his craft and discipline to let nature do its thing and of course, the wines - complex and delicious! We learnt so much about the various processes during our tasting but weren't overwhelmed with detail - the wines themselves shone. The reds in particular and those that had undergone wild fermentation were a delight for the palette. This place is absolutely worth a stop - do it!
Chanelle W — Google review
A great little boutique winery, run by welcoming hosts offering a nice casual setting for wine tasting. They don't charge for the tastings, but you'll be sure to walk away with a few bottles. Really enjoyed their vermentino and rosés. It's small, quaint and cosy. Worth a stop to support an honest hard working small batch winery.

Yes, this is a lovely cellar door to visit with kids in particular, grounds are lovely, plenty of places to sit and have a picnic and glass of wine. Husband and I did the tasting session and wines pretty lovely, good selection to try. Oh and they are dog friendly too!

We always visit Lowe Family Wines on our getaways to Mudgee and it is fabulous every single time. Our latest visit included a ‘let the chef and winemaker choose’ lunch. So much fun. Such great food and with the winemaker, David Lowe pouring for the long table of around 40, great wine was flowing. Such a great experience in a really beautiful, family owned winery. You can’t help but feel absolute joy! These guys put their heart and soul into what they do and their hospitality is next level. You feel like one of the the family. Love it. A Mudgee must!

Our favourite winery in Mudgee by far. Lovely views, amazing wines but what brought the experience to another level was the expertise that Brian brought to our wine tasting. Robert Stein Winery & Vineyard is a picturesque winery in Mudgee that boasts of a tasting shop, picnic area and vintage motorbike museum. The winery has won several awards for its exquisite wines such as Reisling. Despite some wineries being closed during Christmas holidays, Robert Stein Winery & Vineyard remained open for wine tasting. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their wines which makes the experience all the more enjoyable. Visitors can purchase good quality wines after the tasting session.
I discovered the most amazing Merlot when I was in Mudgee then sought out this winery where it was from so I could stock up! Did a wine taste while we were there. While I'm not a huge wine drinker and was nervous it would be a pretentious experience, the young man serving us was so down to earth and helpful that it was just the best experience. I ended up buying more than just the Merlot!!! Also, my husband rides motorbikes so the motorcycle museum was a bonus! Finally, beautiful views.

My wife and I had a truly wonderful experience at Robert Stein Winery, Vineyard & Farm. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. The wine tasting was outstanding — each wine was beautifully presented, and the quality was exceptional. We stayed for lunch and were equally impressed with the food and service. A special highlight for us was being joined by Dave, the friendly vineyard dog, who made the experience even more memorable. We left with a few of our favourite bottles and a smile on our faces. A must-visit if you’re in Mudgee!

A wonderful tasting, friendly winery hosts on our short visit to Mudgee and Orange from Sydney. We were astonished how fabulous the 'half dry' Robert Stein Riesling was. We wouldn't dream of buying Riesling at home in UK because we find it too floral, sweet and 'old school' Blue Nun but this wine was a revelation and we bought a number of bottles to enjoy and share with friends and family. Very classy.

Second time visiting. And it’s always an absolute pleasure. Tasty wines and cheese board is awesome. Dog friendly. Can get busy, because this winery is superb.

A Memorable Experience at Robert Stein Winery My visit to Robert Stein Winery was absolutely wonderful. The property is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by scenic vineyards and rolling hills — a perfect spot to relax and take in the Mudgee charm. The staff were welcoming, knowledgeable, and passionate about their wines, making the tasting experience enjoyable and informative. The wines themselves were exceptional — well-balanced and full of character, especially the reds. We also enjoyed the history and heritage behind the winery, which added to the overall experience. Whether you’re a wine lover or just looking for a relaxing afternoon in a picturesque setting, I highly recommend stopping by Robert Stein Winery. It’s one of those places that leaves a lasting impression.
