For something thats free to enter it's a well kept museum of equipment used to milk cows, pasteurize and of course various cheese production plus an actual 1800's cheese hut/shed. Please do support the local craft store as most items are hand crafted in Began. The big bonus the cafe! Steak Pie was an 8/10 (fantastic crunchy flaky pastry, nice beef steak filling with good thick gravy which didn't destroy the pastry when U bite into it).

It was a nice drop by whenever one pass by Bega. We ordered the cheese platter, a mocha and something that looks like beef burger. The burger and mocha were really good. The cheese platter was great too, but unfortunately both of us struggle to finish it. It will be best to enjoy with 3-4 people. They also do have cheese tasting at one corner too.

Get you cheese fix with a whole lot of Aussie history. Some delicious cheese plus other non cheese snacks. The museum upstairs is worth the visit. There is also a gift shop upstairs with lots of local wares.

its a good little stop over on the trip ...small museum on the history of Bega group .. some nice little tasters on some of their more refined cheeses and a great little cafe and gift shop ...doesnt take much out of your day to stop in

The discovery centre is not big but it gives a good overview of the Snowy Hydro scheme. The terrain model shows the scale of the scheme, with lights showing tunnels, power stations and all the lakes. The operational dashboard on the wall gives real time status of all the pumps, energy generation, water levels and so on. And finally, there is a model of the Tunnel Boring Machine that is being used in Snowy 2.0 right now. One suggestion that I have for the shop would be to have something like a commemorative coin and/or brass tokens for tourists to bring home memories of their visit.

We visited this free to visit discovery centre on a weekday. It wasn't crowded and there were many interesting exhibits about power generation and the dam system in the Snowy Mountains. There is also a cafe and souvenir shop here.

Fantastic and informative place to learn about the original Snowy Scheme. So much information and history from the original snowy scheme. You can spend hours and hours looking and reading about the snowy hydro scheme, the workers and locations that had to work in. The staff working there are super nice and helpful answering all questions. Will definitely be back as I didn’t spend enough time there the first time. Well worth the visit especially if travelling into Cooma.

My father and I really enjoyed our time here. It's great that it's free and supported by the Australian government. The coffee and cake is great so we decided to have these in lieu of the admission fee. The IMAX theatre was really excellent. I'd like to see some other film choices there as well. Great facilities, tables and chairs to have coffee inside or outside and toilets and great displays.

Great stop over point between Canberra and Melbourne. The perfect centre to have a quick lunch and most importantly show kids about renewable energy and be amazed by how much the country had achieved in the 50s and 60s.

Great place to learn about one of our biggest engineering marvels. They have two talks one is a 1975 video and the other is a presentation with some fly overs and a more modern video. Cafe has great coffee. And a selection of warm food like sausage roll, pie, quiche and then sandwiches and other snacks. Great cakes.

Very friendly, helpful service and some informative and fun displays. The small cafe does great toasties, slices and good coffee. We got detailed travel advice and info about must see local attractions.

I think the info can be improved. Like where actually the platypus is and the koala. And the best way to see them. Understand this is not a zoo. But that's why we need guidance to enjoy the nature at its fullest. Each track can also be advertised better for its experience, using the brochure of course as it's the only information source we can depend on. Nevertheless. The place was serene and beautiful

Great stop in at Tidbinbilla, was passing by after the Deep Space Communications centre. Haven’t been in a few years and safe to say I regret leaving it so long, I forget how awesome this place is. Koalas eat at 1pm so they were awake. Turtles everywhere but make sure not to be too loud they get spooked and go in the water. Lots of birds, we never see any platypus though Would be great if they could get the visitor centre back as a main feature, it’s still all closed off with just an office in demountables. Really lacking that initial lay of the land info. Staff were lovely though

A must-visit! It’s really beautiful, with many trails for various walks. I recommend taking the one that leads to the top of the mountain for a breathtaking view! You also have the chance to see many animals, including lots of kangaroos (especially in the morning). It’s truly exciting to see koalas as well.

This is a wonderful place. The short drive from Canberra is well worth it. We saw Bandicoots, Wallabies,Kangaroos, Koalas, a wombat, and bunch of magnificent birds. The best animal we saw was a Platypus- all of these were spotted in their natural environment. Best time to visit is just before sunset.

Well looked after national park with something for everyone. A huge range of walks for all levels plus lots of picnic areas. We saw 3 platypuses, a southern-brush rock tail wallaby and many birds. Very quiet only a few other groups around

Simply beautiful and peaceful! Update July 2025 Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve has only got been over the year's with great maintenance been done around the Reserve with more BBQ facilities available for starters With some scientific study, they have found to have twenty seven platypus playfully swimming between the ponds along with superb viewing of koalas Lots of Kangaroos can be seen with the odd spotting of some Emu's There is a great play ground for the children to play while cooking lunch at the BBQ area Toilet facilities are available also

Lovely spot to walk around and appreciate our wonderful bushland. Walkways made it easy to get around most locations. Plenty of wallabies, kangaroos, and the odd koala, even for to see a couple of normally elusive platypus.

Corin Forest is great for young kids! 1.5 hours of play time is plenty and the rental of clothes and shoes were simple and easy! It’s a good option when you don’t want to go all the way to the snow.

We visited Corin Forest with my family and kids during the first weekend of August, and it was an unforgettable winter experience. The atmosphere was absolutely magical – fresh mountain air, snow-covered slopes, and plenty of space for the kids to enjoy themselves. The snow play area was perfect for families, especially with younger children. My kids had an amazing time building snowmen, sliding down toboggan runs, and just enjoying the winter wonderland. The facilities were well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful, making sure everyone had a safe and fun time. If you’re looking for a family-friendly snow experience close to Canberra without the long drive to the big ski resorts, Corin Forest is a fantastic choice. We left with happy hearts, tired kids, and lots of great memories. Definitely worth visiting during winter!

We had an absolute ball riding the Alpine Slide! We started with a lovely picnic lunch under the trees at the provided picnic tables. We then whizzed down the hill on the slide. It was great fun for kids and adults alike. Such a beautiful location and very easy to get to from Canberra.

We had such a memorable day at Corin Forest! The three-hour road trip there was enjoyable, and arriving felt like stepping into a mini adventure. Our two mini schnauzers were excited exploring their first-ever snows 🐶❄️🐶, and it was great seeing them so happy. The alpine slide and spline slide were the real highlights—our toddler loved every second, and we adults had just as much fun zooming down. The park itself is well set up for families, with plenty of space to relax, picnic, and let the kids and dogs roam safely. It can get a little chaotic with a toddler and two dogs, but that’s part of the charm—seeing everyone so excited made it all worth it. Overall, it’s a fantastic family-friendly destination, perfect for a day trip full of laughter, adventure, and outdoor fun.

Had an amazing experience and it's my partner and our son's first time seeing snow! They had a blast! Had such a great time. Tickets were a little expensive but it was worth it all in the end for the amount of fun we all had!

A great intro to snowplay/skiing lessons for young children. My son had a great experience at his first ski lesson with instructor Nico. The whole wallaby group did so well that they were promoted to the big Ski Slope to finish off their time! A big compliment for Nico. It is our second time here since 2020 and things are better. We went during school holidays: Please book in advance to avoid disappointment especially during school holidays, it books out weeks in advance. My only suggestions for improvement is more staff at the ticketing booth and more changing rooms with better curtains … Good to see staff directing you at the carpark. I highly reccomend packing your own lunch and snacks and walking to the car to get them after your snow time. Picnic benches are available (weather permitting). No service with Telstra/no wifi. Hire area has gloves and other accessories for sale as we forgot a pair of gloves! Everything else can be hired.

My dog had so much fun! We booked 10am session, not too many people. Was a small decent area for dogs to play. Me n my dog happy with it.

This place was the best value for money to eat in the area. Very well priced and the portion sizes were spot on. Thai fillet could have been slightly larger however, the BLT was HUGE! They forgot the cheese for the kids cheese burger 🤣 also great to see they did not have any gaming. Service was a bit relaxed, was definitely a local 😊 If we ever make it back there will make sure we have a feed at this pub.

Our first time experience stay 2nights 3 days accommodation in Jindabyne NSW, Lake Jindabyne Hotel. Our room has access to the beautiful Lake at the back, morning sunshine and afternoon so nice to walk. Meanwhile Hotel services nothing to complain about, complimentary free breaky is good to start with each day, food is freshly prepared, car park is infront door of our room accessibility, so choose the ground floor I best recommend, room is enough for 3 pax, with complimentary coffee tea sugar mini bags, towels , toilet bathroom facility is separated which is good. Staff members are accommodating hope it’ll be practice at all times. The location is accessible to shops groceries petrol ATM banking, a meat pie shop is delicious meaty beef chunk. We still have tomorrow to enjoy our stay in LJH,,

It's been 8 years since I stayed here and wow what a shock I got when we saw our room this time round! Initially, I thought it was a little pricy since I went last but I can say I got value for money! The new building is incredibly aesthetic and warm! There was plenty of room and towels for our family of 5. Kids loved their own tv. The hot breakfast was as good as before, if not better. Still love the central location in town and a quick walk to pubs and clubs and lake views. Down fall is that there is no toilet upstairs in the master room of the family suite and no full-time reception.

We stayed here for a couple of nights during the winter school holiday. It has been an excellent experience. The check in process was fast (drove straight to the designated parking in front of the room and opened the door using codes in the email); the room was welcoming and clean, with a fabulous view over the lake; the bistro was warm and served good value food; the breakfast was standard though well presented; best of all, it is a great location close to the snowy mountains.

We love the 'Jindy Hotel'. It's had the same manager (Graham/Pops) for many years and we're always welcomed back by him and his team. I always had the daily special for dinner. The pork sausage pasta on the Sunday was great!! Location is perfect with a short walk to the rest of town. There's a really cool chairlift sculpture down by the water (head down and turn right) you should check out if you have the time.

Best hotel I’ve ever come across. What stood out was the included breakfast! Perfect before a snow day. Only critique is they need a cafe added onto the premises. The loft lodge king suit was next level! Highly recommend.

Staying at the Lodge was amazing. So new, so clean, such good value. Lovely big comfy beds in super spacious rooms. We travelled with a baby and it was so safe for her to crawl around everywhere. Great to have a few drinks next door too.

Booked for lunch as a stopover to Thredbo as we've been previously and loved their sticky date puddings so decided to go back. Food was good - the Schnitzel was actually the highlight this time! The sticky date sauce was a little sweet compared to what we remembered (the ice-cream helped soften this!) but it was still decent, especially if you prefer the denser texture with date pieces! It was a busy Saturday lunch so service was slightly slow and less attentive but overall, lovely vibes and surrounds! Good variety of schnapps too!

A wonderful spring experience to finally visit with a friend and my Assistance Animal. Free tasting, mouth watering afternoon tea. Staff are so friendly and service is top notch. Grounds are well kept and being a Vodka fan had to buy a bottle and surprised my tastebuds with Apple and Pear Schnapps! So great to meet one of the owners who's locally born and raised as I am. We paid a visit over the weekend and ordered the schnapps tasting. We chose: Butterscotch, Peach, and Pear, and here's how they stacked up: 1. Butterscotch: This one’s a crowd favorite, and for good reason! Right from the first sip, you get hit with this amazing, sweet aroma that really draws you in. The taste is rich, creamy, and just downright indulgent. But after a couple of sips, it did start to feel a little too sweet, almost like dessert in a glass. Still, it’s perfect for those with a sweet tooth. 2. Peach: I really enjoyed the peach schnapps! It had a lovely scent, light and refreshing. The flavor was super smooth, with just the right amount of fruity sweetness. This is definitely a drink that’s easy to sip on and feels perfect for a sunny day. 3. Pear: Sadly, the pear schnapps didn’t quite do it for me. It tasted a bit too much like cough medicine. The flavor was kind of flat and not as enjoyable as the others. Definitely the least favorite of the bunch. As for the distillery itself, it's a great spot to hang out. They’ve got both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can choose where you want to chill. The outdoor area is really spacious, with lots of room for kids to run around, and there are some cool sculptures scattered around to check out. It’s a nice mix of a laid-back vibe and a beautiful setting. Overall, Wildbrumby is definitely worth a visit. The schnapps tasting is a fun experience, especially if you’re a fan of unique flavors, and the whole place is perfect for a relaxing day out. Just make sure to go easy on that butterscotch unless you’re ready for a sugar overload!

Made a lunch booking here at the recommendation of a few friends. We had a really lovely time, the property is beautiful and the food & service were pretty good. Enjoyed a paddle od schnapps- peppermint, sour apple, and devils tongue (chilli) which was my favourite. Had some cheese and crackers, olives, and the pork sausages which were all really nice. Definitely worth the stop.

This place was very crowded at lunchtime, and we couldn't get an outdoor table since we hadn't booked in advance. We tried the pumpkin soup, cheese platter, and sticky date pudding with vanilla ice cream. The pumpkin soup was a bit bland, and the cheese platter wasn't worth the price. However, sticky date pudding was really good. There is plenty of space for kids to play and a perfect view for photos. Ample parking available. Overall, I'd come back here just for the ambience.

It's a must visit place if you are travelling down to Snowy Mountains ! The location is beautiful and in midst of mountains . We enjoyed the pumpkin soup and the cheese platter. The staff are very welcoming and suggested us some good food ! Make sure you reserve a table before you go here as it can get packed .

A Perfect Family Snow Trip! We had an amazing time at Selwyn Ski Resort! It’s a fantastic spot for families — our kids had an absolute blast. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the ski lessons were well run. Big shoutout to Paige, who was wonderful with the kids! Paige looks after us last Sunday for a group of 10 kids. Ski hire was much cheaper than at Thredbo or Perisher, which was a great bonus. While food prices were a bit higher, it’s understandable given the seasonal nature of the resort. The resort closes at 4:30 PM, which actually worked out well for relaxing evenings. The drive up was stunning — snow-covered and very scenic. We also found more affordable accommodation options nearby in places like Tumut. Overall, this was our best snow trip yet — we’ll definitely be back super soon! Subject: Disappointing Experience at Selwyn Ski Resort – Request for Resolution Dear Selwyn Ski Resort Management, I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the experience my family and I had at your resort during our visit on the weekend of July 13, 2025. Arriving at 8.30am Unfortunately, the quality of service we encountered was far below expectations, especially considering the high cost of our visit. 1. Staffing and Operations: Given the online booking system in place, it would seem that you would have had an accurate indication of the number of visitors for that weekend. However, it was clear upon arrival that your resort was significantly understaffed. Your rental desk had five counters, yet only two or three were staffed, with minimal assistance provided to the large crowd. We had to wait for over 5.5 hours just to pick up our rental gear. By the time we were finally on the slopes, it was 2:45 pm, leaving us with just 1 hour of skiing before the resort closed at 4pm. As we had paid for full-day lift tickets for 2 adults and 2 children, this experience was incredibly disappointing. 2. Lift Ticket Machines: Out of four available machines, only one was functioning, causing lengthy delays and further frustration for all visitors trying to purchase tickets. This level of disorganization is unacceptable for a resort of your size. 3. Food and Beverage Service: At the cafe, there were only two baristas managing both coffee orders and counter service. The wait times were excessive, with a 45-minute wait for a coffee and hot chocolate, which is simply unacceptable. 4. Facility Cleanliness: The resort's toilets and other facilities were noticeably unclean, and I did not observe any efforts to maintain or sanitize them throughout the day. This is particularly concerning in a high-traffic environment like a ski resort. 5. Cashless Payment and Connectivity Issues: While I understand the move to a cashless resort, the lack of proper internet reception is a major issue. Many visitors, including ourselves, were unable to complete transactions or access your website due to poor mobile network coverage, leading to further inconvenience. In light of these numerous issues, we have clearly been misled by your advertising and charged for services that were not provided as promised. As a result, I will be lodging a formal complaint with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) for misleading advertising and inadequate service delivery. Given the severe lack of service and the frustration we encountered, I kindly request a full refund for the lift tickets and rental fees pre paid for close to 4 weeks before our attendance. I hope you will take the time to address these concerns and take immediate steps to improve the guest experience for future visitors. I look forward to your prompt response. If your TIME is valuable, this isn’t the place for you, don’t be fooled by 5 star reviews in here. I hoped bad reviews on this were just one bad weekend, it isn’t. This place wouldn’t care about your time, ski hire queue is the slowest queue on earth - we waited for over 3hrs on a not so long queue to get the skis, and it was already midday by the time we got them. And we missed our lessons and when we tried to communicate that, they showed us others who were also in same boat and the guy at counter was like I can’t do anything about it. He offered to book a lesson for $50 😆- which I can do myself too. You’d think you are better off if you BYO skis or hire elsewhere- you are happily joining another queue to use the chair lift. If you are hungry, you are joining another queue, coffee? There’s another queue. They should change the name to Queues Snow Resort 😁 This place is greedy and will issue as many tickets passes as possible with no attention to capacity in terms of staff or facilities. Staff seem helpless, well under capacity snd unhappy. The cafe area was almost always full all day, so you can’t really find a place to sit. Toilets were ok. Locker says $10 small locker box but i paid $14 for small locker 12?7

I don’t think it was really that affordable like their slogan says, especially the food they are selling at their cafeteria (honestly it’s too expensive and not worth it). And you gonna spend minimum 1 hour at the que for rental if you don’t book online beforehand. But it’s a good place for a first timer like me who wanted to try snowboarding or skiing. And the best part is, they have a huge parking space.

We visited on Monday. There wasn’t much snow, but the beginner slopes were well covered and suitable for skiing. There was also a toboggan area with plastic sleds, which was a lot of fun. The café in the food court makes excellent coffee — even the decaf was outstanding! Highly recommended. The price was $8.50 for a medium cup, which is a bit steep, but the taste made it worth it.

I recently organised a ski trip for a number of families. I have skied quite a lot but most of the group were beginners. I was very happy to have chosen Selwyn!! I was at Thredbo one month ago so easy to compare. Selwyn is so chilled compared to the craziness of Thredbo. There are more runs over there but you really pay for it! The cost of the lift tickets and lessons were so much better and affordable at Selwyn. I particular wanted to mention Stefan and Jimmy who taught my daughter. She learned so much more than at her snow boarding lesson at Thredbo. They they really encouraged her and before the day was out, she was all over the mountain! I also want to acknowledge those on the lifts. They were so friendly and fun! Thanks so much our entire group had a really wonderful trip and we will definitely be back!

As a first timer to see the snow, I was thoroughly impressed. A 4 and a half hr drive from Sydney. We were amazed to see the difference in weather from muggy in Sydney to a downpour of rain in Jindabyne. The drive to Selwyn has you doubting that snow even exists here in NSW. It's not until you are 1 hr out from the resort that the snow and ice appear. Absolutely breath taking views. The resort is nice. I wish the machines were working out of the 6, There only was 1 which worked. Which an employee had to stand there and hand feed cards through. Also, maybe cover the kiosk machines. I was retieving 10 cards yesterday and found it hard as the place where the kiosks are placed is right bang in the middle of an air tunnel, and it's freezing. There is no cash on premises it is strictly cashless. Staff and instructors were incredibly helpful/ patient and kind. We will definitely be back again.

Two attractions are worth visiting. One is depiction of WW story through Hologram and second is the submarine control room, where you can actually use the periscope. Beside those, there are several other pieces of information. :)

What a cool place to stop at on your road trip to Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne. It’s got some truely awesome old submarines with a lot to explore as you wander the grounds. If you need a break on your road trip this is the perfect place for it, no matter if it’s for the photo op, a chance to stretch or a picnic in the park. Would love to go back and check out more of the museum portion of this exhibit however with the submarine being open all day every day, and the park too it’s an easy stop at any point on your trip.

What a picturesque place to stop on your way to or from Sydney. We stopped here for lunch at the Holbrook bakery. Fantastic baked goods and delicious coffee, a must-visit for a snack. The Oberon class submarine is a fantastic place to learn about Australian and British naval history. Take a photo with the huge half-submerged submarine in the park. After this, you must visit the museum/visitors centre to take a walk through time. Stick around and watch the holographic history lesson in the centre's theatre. As of 08/03/22, the cost for an adult ticket to the museum is $7. Well worth it.

What a charming little park! Colorful flowers and tall palm trees sway gently in the breeze, accompanied by the sweet scent of osmanthus blossoms. Locals can be seen relaxing on the grass, enjoying picnics with friends, or playing with their children—it's truly a lovely spot to unwind. The children's playground is a particular highlight, full of whimsical and imaginative features: ceramic sculptures, a dinosaur-shaped speaking tube, small animal-themed wooden seats, handpans, and tiny xylophones… There's even a fairytale-like restroom adorned with stained glass and a sculpted lizard winding around the exterior. It's truly a magical place.

I had the chance to visit this garden for spending some time alone in the afternoon, it is a very nice place for meditation and for photography. Lots of varieties and well maintained, free entrance.

It was beautiful. Manicured lawns and well tended plants and trees. Peaceful walking with my sister. The paths are flat and suitable for all abilities and wheelchairs. We looked at the children's playground and it was full of exquisite details for the children to explore.

Really enjoyed it here and on weekend it was quiet and peaceful it wasn't as big as I expected it to be but it was an amazing experience and it has something special about it it was easy to get to and find and it was free entry so nice and manicured

Thoroughly enjoyed our walk through the gardens, it was our first visit. Lots of stunning mature trees, had a great old world feel. We were there when the light show was on which was beautiful.

A beautiful spot whether your a tourist or a local. Great views of Albury/Wodonga. Most of all its our War Memorial site. I hadn't been there in 15yrs and what a change. It's more than a monument. There are plarks for all the different wars Australians have fought at. The ANZAC Day area is all done in exposed concrete and the monument is shining in bright white. Picnic areas are fantastic and there are many to choose from. The view right to the end of Dean Street always looks great. Beautiful site to visit as well at night.

Good area to visit if you stay for couple of days in Albury. You can either hike up or drive all the way up here. Parking around the Monument. Can have eye-bird view of Albury from this hill. Probably best during sunset or sunrise. Very well maintained with toilet facility and some tables and benches for resting or picnic. There are walks starting from this hill too but we didnt do any.

A really thoughtful military monument that is well worth the visit. Do yourself a healthy favour and take the walk up the hill from the township (you can drive up if walking is not an option for you). As well as the monument itself you get some great views of the Albury township and surrounds.

New park is coming along really well! Opening November 8th 2025.

Had an awesome time at the Old Beechworth Gaol tour! Graham was a great guide and really knew his stuff/made it super interesting. Loved the Kelly family stories, but also learned heaps about the gaol’s history. Wish there was an opportunity to keep looking after the tour.

We took the kids to the Beechworth Gaol during the school holidays. The tour was well priced and it was easy to book online. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all of the questions from the group. We highly recommend the tour for all ages. It's a great part of the local history.

fantastic old goal...guided tours run almost every hour and is the only way to checkout the inside of the prison something to remember ...first tour at 10am .. HM Prison Beechworth was built on the site of Beechworth's first stockade. It was designed by Victoria's Public Works Department and constructed using local granite that was quarried with prison labour... Beechworth was one of nine panopticon prisons built in Victoria. Construction began in 1857 and the prison opened in 1860, though was incomplete and only had single cells for 36 prisoners. The capacity doubled when the building was completed in 1864. Beechworth initially housed male and female prisoners. Female prisoners were assigned washing and needlework for government departments. Between 1865 and 1881, eight executions were carried out at the prison.Ned Kelly served six months at the prison in 1870-71 for assault. He was again held there during his committal trial for murder in 1880. Kelly's mother, Ellen and two associates of the Kelly family also served sentences at the prison the late 1870s for the attempted murder of Constable Alexander Fitzpatrick. Twenty suspected sympathisers of Kelly were held in 1879 in an attempt to limit support to the Kelly gang. The prison's iron gates were installed due to fears there may be attempts to break the sympathisers out of the prison.

What a great tour! Very informative and fascinating to know the history. Our guide Peter was fantastic. I could have listened to him talk for hours. If only those walls could talk, we’d know so much more. Definitely a place worth visiting when coming to Beechworth!

Love the hands-on experience of visiting the jail 💗 was a bit cold so we got some food at the cafe and got a very informative book about the prison’s history from the cafe too 📚Love it, will definitely come back next year!!!

The tour guide was awesome, knew his stuff and history and loved telling the story. Gail only closed in the early 2000s so some infamous people looked up here. Kelly History deep with his Mum locked up for a few years.

Beechworth Gaol had not only the Kelly & gang incarcerated here but also Kelly's mentor & tutor - the "gentlemen" Bushranger Harry Power. Somehow Harry Power's tales are subsumed by Ned Kelly's but it is just as interesting. Other inmates here included a whole bunch of modern day tax evaders & Melbourne's infamous underbelly crims. The newer additions include the conjugal visits area in the gaolers yard as you make your way inside on the right & a swimming pool area - gated off on the left. I expected the Gaol to be bigger but it is small with about 110 to 123 inmates capacity. There is the heritage Kelly era wing, the newer ones plus the Hangman's room & the Noose. A group of us - pre-purchased online tix for the 10 am tour Sun 23 Feb recently. A huge crowd of almost 40. The next tour only had a handful - so perhaps this is a better timeslot. Free parking in front of entry gates & also side street. There is a Cafe Truck in the entry yard too & a nice reception re-purposed area & toilets inside before tour starts. Tour ran for 45 mins & Guide thankfully used audio speaker. Typical Oz humour delivered with full on ocker tones- which you wonder if overseas visitors understood. Exercise yard - with the metal mirror (you will find out why) is also the site of 1800s hard labour (breaking granite & carting it), the chain gang tales all made for the grim reality not only the gold rush lawless period but also the 20th century penitentiary system. You get more of the blood & gore penitentiary stories under the pentagonal wooden roofed & similar shaped guard room inside. The replica Kelly gang armour suite is lined up here (by this time it is an oft repeated sight for us having started the Kelly trail at Glenrowan.). For dedicated Ned Kelly & Harry Power stories - do the Ned Kelly Trail tour run by the Visitor's Centre. Beats me how the confined cells & dire deeds of yore can be re-purposed into arts, entertainment & hospitality...Takes it beyond the "dark" tourism into the 21st century enlightenment I suppose. One way of maintaining historical sites like this for future generations but the essence of harsh reality of colonial past would be lost surely. Whatever works to make it a viable site. Pentridge Prison is already a popular re-purposed hub but ..er..rrr..rr - it ain't for me.

the whole historic zone in Beechworth is amazing ..courthouse ...telegraph station .. gold wardens house ...gold office ..along with the old gaol absolutely amazing must see when in the Beechworth area ...all dating back to 1850s to 1860s build during the Beechworth Gold rush period

We did the courthouse guided tour. It was worth the small fee, lots of interesting information and you could look at how courts were conducted during the 19th century. It's a beautiful old building and well worth preserving, it's our history.

Excellent, informative and balanced view of Ned's story within the context of the regional Victorian court system of the time. Three projectors display the story hugely magnified across the interior courtroom walls so you can truly be immersed in the history of the court building. Side rooms include the judge's chamber (where you can try on legal wigs and robes) and a magnificent law library full of ancient volumes. Very informative and helpful guide Mal answered all my questions and was very well-versed on the subject. A must for fans of Beechworth, legal and goldfields era history!

If you want experience the deeper history of Beechworth, then the Court house is a great place to start. Beechworth has an amazing number of little places you can take the kids or yourself to go and have a visit to learn about Beechworth. The court House is of course famous for its association with Ned Kelly, but it also is an amazing place to come and see a historic building, built in 1958 and was a working courthouse right up to 1989, this courthouse has been an interesting and integral part of the community just as much as the Beechworth Goal Has. I love how you can almost access nearly every room of the courthouse minus the lady's balcony and a storeroom. But the Library happened to be our favourite room, it was filled with old law books and just had that nostalgic feel about it, the kids loved the library and the holding cells. (They used to have an audio spill that used to play but that feature was not there anymore. It did make for a great way to experience the court room.) The kids love being able to explore and sit where the judge and lawyers would sit and they did a little court play of their own. It was cheap to get in costing us a family of 6 $10. you could pay a bit extra for a guided tour which would probably have been great. There were souvenirs you could purchase for reasonable prices. Accessibility: The courthouse is wheelchair friendly, and you can access most of the courthouse bar the cells I believe. The staff are welcoming and encourage all to come and take part in the history of Beechworth. Great place for kids and anyone to come and visit.

This place is fantastic! Cheap to visit. The court house is in original condition as it was on the last day is was used. Lots of interesting information to read. Ned Kellys trial began here in August 1880 before it was transferred to Melbourne. Don’t forget to go around the rear of the building where one of the old stable buildings still stand. Also the old stone lock up with would be terrible to be locked up in. The whole area is so interesting and next door is the telegraph office to visit as well.

With the visit when exploring the area. Beautiful views of the falls from the lookout point! Nice picnic area with WCs available. Due to injury we couldn’t explore as much as we would have liked, but there were lots of people walking around the rocks and falls below.

Easy walk to the fall from the parking. The view is spectacular and the breeze makes the heat go away. The rocks underneath the water are slippery but with proper shoes it is not too dangerous. A good destination for a day trip, with friends and family or solo trip.

What an absolutely delightful afternoon! High tea at Pizzini Winery was a delight from both a culinary and social perspective. Beautiful surroundings, friendly, attentive, and welcoming staff, delicious food, and beautiful wines. Dietary restrictions were not an issue; they just need prior notice. If you are in the King Valley do yourself a favour and check out Pizzini Wines and the different experiences they offer.

Always have a fantastic experience here. The wines are excellent with a wide range to suit all tastes and budgets. Staff are so friendly and helpful, there's a genuine family feel to the winery. The setting is beautiful too. An excellent quick stop on your road trip or longer visit if you're staying in the area.

Pizzini wines were great, providing a nice introduction to the Italian wines the region produces. We went during winter and Pizzini were one of the few places open on the weekday we went. Special shout out to Giacomo, our amazing sommelier, who happily answered all our questions - sharing his expertise from his extensive study and practical experience, whilst talking us through the tasting. Really great spot, highly recommend Pizzini wines if you visit King Valley.

Had the pleasure to experience a wine tasting with Anthony and Duncan. I not only loved the wines (particularly the brachetto and riesling), but the knowledge, stories, and recommendations to pair for my upcoming dinner parties was stellar! Loved it and will be back!

Our second stop at the King Valley region was at Pizini Wines ~ Italian at heart inspired where we were warmly greeted by Karen; Mario and Isabelle. Seated in such a warm and welcoming environment, Isabelle presented us with some tasters olives; caramel popcorn; chilli popcorn and bread sticks and presented us with the wine tasting experience!! Isabelle was extremely pleasant, accomodating and provided alternatives for the individual pallet . We enjoyed hearing about the growth of the Pizzini family, their passion and commitments to their winemaking dream. The surroundings were nice to. We were lucky to also have a friendly chat with owner Fred and hear about his experience and innovative ways of continuing business during the pandemic. We truly enjoyed our experience at pizzini. Purchased a few bottles of wine at the end and couldn’t resist buying the caramel popcorn + chilli popcorn ~ thanks for the lovely hospitality and looking forward to returning and trying out the cooking school.

I've had the privilege of photographing weddings here in all weather conditions - from intimate small ceremonies to big celebrations - and each and everyone has been absolutely breathtaking. Everyone always goes above and beyond - they're genuinely passionate about good food, excellent wine, and creating one heck of a celebration! This venue truly shines no matter what. We absolutely adored our visit to Brown Brothers planned by Sarah who put together a wonderful itinerary for us! The setting is beautiful and the cellar door is so inviting with the open fire, historical displays, and use of wine barrels to decorate the space. We had the most amazing tasting & tour experience at the cellar door hosted by Jacob who was fabulous at teaching us all about the different wines and how they’re made in a way that was fun, informative, and relatable as someone who enjoys wine but isn’t overly knowledgeable on the subject. He tailored the tasting to our individual preferences and there wasn’t one I didn’t like. We ended up buying many bottles both for ourselves and as gifts after discovering some new favourites. We also had the 5 course degustation lunch in the winery restaurant which was spectacular. Each course consisted of multiple elements that worked in perfect harmony and were utterly delicious, especially when paired with the matching wines. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive throughout. Overall I would highly recommend visiting even if it just for a tasting, but definitely check out the range of extra experiences they offer too, there’s definitely more we plan to do too. We’re already planning a return visit for next year as we loved the Milawa region and this winery was definitely the highlight of our trip.

We had a wonderful experience with Milawa Luxe Escape, a collaboration of Brown Brothers and Church Lane Accommodation this weekend. The Church Lane Accommodation was beautiful, quiet and private. At Brown Brothers, we were served the Slow Lunch by Henry and it was such a wholesome experience. We do a lot of rushed meals, so having a slow lunch with beautifully complimenting wines got us to relish the efforts involved. The cheese, cured meats and the accompaniments we received to take with us was lovely too. We brought the 2 matching wines before heading back. The next day we had a slow start, enjoying the Church Lane Accommodation, before going to the Wine Tour and Taste at Brown Brothers’. Rosa was warm, welcoming and knowledgeable in guiding us through our tasting, with great placement to help us take better note of the differences and enjoying the complexities of well made wine. We purchased more wine that we selected from the tasting, that we wanted to share with friends and family. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our weekend in Milawa, Brown Brothers collaboration with Church Lane Accommodation - Luxe Escape. We are especially grateful to the people that made our experience wonderful - Sam, Colin, Henry and Rosa.

We visited here during a nice little day out and had the degustation for lunch, it was a really nice experience and the winery is very pretty, especially with great weather like we had on our visit. The two staff members ( 1 male & 1 female ) who took care of our table were very lovely and accommodating and we received a lovely gift for a recent special occasion which was a very kind finish to our lunch. I really appreciated the extra effort put into accommodating for my nut allergy, I was served my own servings seperate to the others which made me feel very comfortable and safe. Lovely place to visit.

I have had the best day. My birthday and i felt so special. Brown Bros Milawa has always been a favoured destination for me but today, the best. The staff, the food, the wine...nothing was wrong. Everything was ideal: good food, good wine and great service. Service staff are what sells a venue and the staff here today were so friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. My kind of people. Visited Cambells Wines and had an unforgettable experience. The main highlight, of course, was their outstanding wine — an incredible selection, especially the reds, full of richness and character. We also enjoyed a beautifully prepared cheese and meat platter, rich in variety and flavor. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with warm and professional service. A truly special place for wine lovers!

Campbell's Wines is set in stunning gardens on the edge of Rutherglen. The cellar door offers complimentary tastings, a wine club, and local produce. Blended wines represent something unique. For an earthy experience meander through the barrels or sit by the fireplace in Winter.

Lovely Winnery. Classic buildings and a super restaurant. We stopped by for a Pizza Lunch in the ordinary restaurant, which was great, nice environment and tasty food at a fair price. But there is a premium full service restaurant as well for special occasions. 😎👍👍👍👍

All Saints Estate is a classic winery experience with a modern twist. Cellar door Tastings are $15 per person, or you can enjoy a whole glass in the restaurant for roughly the same. There's an enticing menu inspired by local produce. Picnicing is encouraged in the formal gardens. There's an enticing line up of entertainment if you want to make a weekend of it. A destination worth seeking out.

I had a terrible experience here. There are so many other wineries in the area that could be recommended before All Saints. I popped in to purchase a Mother's Day bottle. I purchased a single, mid-range bottle from the cellar door. The disdain and indifference my purchase was shown left a very sour taste. I stood there, awkwardly waiting to pay, for an eternity, while the server chatted with a customer about maybe joining the wine club. Every other winery I attended in Rutherglen and surrounds was a warm and endearing experience.

We stopped by for a quick lunch and look around, what a beautiful estate, and our pizza we all shared was just delicious, best base dough I have ever tasted. We paired it with a Pinot Grigio, just perfect. Could had sat by the lake there all afternoon. Definitely will be back.

A great surprise find on our road trip. Not listed on attractions so someone needs to rectify that for sure. A fantastic tasting of their whiskies. Great range of flavours. Cafe available as well as chocolate shop. A big venue available for functions.

We visited Corowa Distilling Co. as a large group for lunch, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The service was fantastic - friendly, attentive, and incredibly accommodating for our group size. The food was absolutely delicious. And of course, the highlight for many of us was the whisky - smooth, rich, and expertly crafted. Highly recommend a visit whether you’re into great food, great drinks, or both!

Very fun! Kids made their own freckle chocolates, and they also had hot chocolate! Adults had latte, and coffee. Absolutely amazing!

Had brekkie this morning at Corowa Distillery – absolutely outstanding. The eggs Benedict was bang on: rich hollandaise, perfectly poached eggs, and I added a side of halloumi and chorizo that really hit the spot. Service was spot-on – friendly, fast, and welcoming. The setting inside the old Flour Mill is packed with history and charm, and the atmosphere is super relaxed. On top of that, they’re making some bloody good whisky – well worth a try while you’re there. Top-notch food, cracking whisky, and a brilliant place to kick back. Can’t wait to come back for round two!

We showed up late, and the guy gave us a whiskey tasting abd he didbt have to, too many! Whiskeys actually very good, abd right up there with the best in the world in my humble opinion. I havent been that impressed with some of the highly touted Australian whiskies, but these guys seriously know what they are doing. A fantastic venue, will definitely do the tour next time. Do yourself a big favour and dont miss this if youre in Corowa, the towns best attraction by a long way

We returned here after a few years and was pleased to see that the service is still amazing. Really freindly and helpful staff. The breakfast at the Cafe is amazing. Also nice to see the whiskey range has grown with a number of cheaper options available.

The place is easy to find, very interesting and filled with memorabilia from head to toe. The outside is decorated with hand painted portraits. Prices are reasonable considering what you get to experience. We went on a rainy day and had no one else in there with us. Its incredibly entertaining and informative. Highly interactive with lots of thing to see and hear. Atmosphere is awesome and super emersive. The guy running the place is also incredibly friendly and helpful. Would seriously recommend.

We had a history lesson here, staff are fantastic, you are well informed on all of Ned Kelly & other key individuals in Ned's capture , trail, site inspections . There is plenty of memorabilia throughout the town and paraphernalia for sale, t shirts, stubby coolers etc. We spent roughly 2 hours here but are returning on our return from Great Ocean Road Trip. There are Food Shops in the town & staff and locals appear freindly , food was served quick & hot & plenty of places to sit around or park & enjoy.

Very interesting shop full of exciting produce from around the nearby townships. There's samples of jams, relishes, etc, for you to try before you buy. Highly recommend this place

Our specific trip to Yarrawonga made this an essential stop. We visited the Echuca store and loved it so much. This didn’t disappoint either. Yummy meals really were a treat for us to take home and cook and of course we bought the wonderful olive oil staff very helpful. and friendly I like the layout of Echuca store better where the skincare section is altogether under the one roof with the store.

Can't rate the quality and service from this family run business highly enough. We purchase regularly and have loved watching the success and growth of Rich Glen. So many beautiful items on offer, olive oils, condiments, produce, beauty products and so much more. Do yourself a favour and check out one of their stores, you will love it, or you can purchase online. Donna and the team organised our corporate gifts for Christmas and everyone loved them. Purchased a bottle of “Hot Cross Bun Gin Liqueur” when I visited the store at Yarrawonga on 9/3/2024 for $49. I assumed that I was getting a good deal. This week’s Aldi catalog displays the same product for $24.99. What a bargain??? Maybe I will purchase two bottles for that price.

I really enjoyed looking around the old homestead. It's so important that we retain these little gems of history. And.... it's supposed to be haunted although I didn't see any signs of ghosts 👻

What a beautiful afternoon we spent under a shady tree, enjoying a ploughman's lunch, a beer or two and a local white wine. The owners are so friendly and their family is connected to the Kelly's...owners of the land and homestead. The carefully laid out tables/chairs, around the property, offer spots to enjoy, whether for a couple, family, small group gathering. One could easily have an event held there, and if inclement weather, there is an event space inside the cafe/bar at the back. Toilets are basic and separate to the Cafe but easily accessible. Not so sure about disabled toilets. Plenty of parking on dirt at the front of the homestead. There is a separate kitchen which would be the original and worth a peak to get a glimpse of what it would be like back in the day. Near the toilets and very old tree, there is access to the cellar area - a good hiding spot when under attack from bushranger etc. Such a great asset for everyone visiting Yarrawonga and surrounds. A big thumbs up from us. 👍

A great piece of history and well worth the visit if you’re interested in the Hume & Hovell story. The building is classified “A” to be preserved at all cost ….hmmmm….that message seems to have been lost. The place definitely needs some TLC. The brewery was a relaxing break in the garden . Well worth the visit & tour. A shot sample of beer is included in the ticket entry.

Sorry this is not an review of the beautiful old homestead itself. We never got to that. After our brunch in the brewery we were completely incapable of bipedal locomotion. The other half loves a brew, and I will admit to being keen to try their Autumn deal which was a large ploughman’s platter and two beers/wines. However his lordship wanted to have the pie. So rather than miss out on my ploughman’s platter altogether I chose to have the small platter. Just me. On my own. Solo. It really could have fed two. The ladies all insisted they’d give me a takeaway container, but I gave it a good shake! The variety of goodies on the plate was stunning, with some amazing local produce. And us townies forget the joy of an egg produced by a happy chook! The three ladies on deck were spectacular. Without exception happy, smiling and amenable without being in your face. They were also very knowledgeable about the region. It was a lovely peaceful place to dine, and I recommend it unreservedly. Oh, and the other half said the pie was impressive also!

Nice place with tranquil surroundings. Good selection of beers and ciders. Ploughman's player was generous but it seemed like everything on it except the chutney could be bought from the supermarket.

While we did not take the tour of the Homestead we enjoyed beer tasting and a bite to eat. We selected 6 ciders and beers to taste served in 200ml glasses and a Ploughmans platter to share. The tasting room is spacious yet cozy with a wood fire burning. We enjoyed a leisurely visit there and I'd love to go back

Lovely historic place with very nice food and some interesting homebrews! 😱 Great to wander around the homestead grounds without having to pay for the tour. Seeing 170 year old elm trees was pretty amazing also. Well worth the visit😄👍 Check out my photos! ✅

Well worth a stop. Yes it is touristy, but it's also grey nomads like us that come for a pic of the Big Thing and then spend a bit of money that goes back into the local economy. After reading the reviews, we steered clear of the waffles and pancakes and ordered scones instead. Very nice, along with strawberry jam and fresh whipped cream. I would recommend a stop here.

We got here at 11am luck as we missed the massivce crowd . And got our food before a huge influx of people. Free wifi is good but we sat next too the kids play area, it's a good idea , it's $750 pp under 3 is free but they have a seperate area beside the play ground that all costs money . I wanted to order a burger but was 30 min early to order one but people I saw ordered them that was annoying . But I was lucky I ordered the chicken msredrd mustard Spanish rostie it was really nice I'm lucky I ordered that. The okay prices I think are too expensive potentially $5 or over a total for the table kids play for free. All the food and coffee was pretty good . The kids pancake with other was the same price as one on the full menu that U got 2 pancakes good scoop of strawberry ice-cream and strawberries in the pancake so we got that instead , that wasn't a kids meal. The only in the kids area the wife could of been better and lower kids play prices should be lower everything else was good if eat again if I'm in the area. Staff where all friendly and polite and happy and enjoying their job .

The staff member in this photo seriously needs proper customer service training and, more importantly, needs to understand that being racist towards visitors is completely unacceptable. We had one of the worst experiences during our visit. From the moment we arrived, there was a noticeable attitude problem. One of our friends had their order messed up, which, to be fair, can happen. Mistakes are part of the job and we would have understood that. However, instead of handling it with a simple apology or any professionalism, the staff responded with rudeness, dismissiveness and an awful attitude. What shocked us most was not the mistake itself, but the way they reacted. They made us feel like we were the problem for simply pointing it out. It was deeply disappointing and honestly quite upsetting. If you are planning to visit, be prepared for one of the worst customer service experiences you might have in Australia. The place clearly does not care about how it treats people, and the behaviour of the staff reflects that. Keep your expectations low so you are not caught off guard like we were.

If you're visiting Bearii, this is a wonderful place to explore, especially for children. They offer a delightful strawberry vine, a variety of playful activities, and beautiful lilies that can bring joy to visitors of all ages.

The Big Strawberry 🍓 – Nice spot, but service needs work This was my second visit to The Big Strawberry & sadly, it won’t be a third. I brought my family here thinking it would be a great spot for locals and tourists alike, but the service left a lot to be desired. We wanted to try some strawberry liquor at the tasting area, but it was unattended when we arrived. After waiting a few minutes, two staff members appeared, one said she’d send someone over but nothing happened. Another lady noticed us waiting but didn’t offer any help, just glanced and went about her tasks. After asking three times, one lady finally served us but seemed annoyed and mentioned the tasting was limited to three people, which felt a bit rude. In the end, we only shared 1 sample and didn’t end up buying a bottle. It felt disappointing, especially as visitors and I can’t help but wonder if that influenced the attitude we received. The venue is beautiful with nice indoor and outdoor spaces, so it’s unfortunate the customer service didn’t live up to that standard. To improve, better staff training on attentiveness and friendliness , especially during busy times is essential. Every guest, whether local or tourist, should feel genuinely welcomed and valued. Treating people differently based on where they’re from can come across as unfair or even racist, which is truly disappointing. I hope the team can improve because the potential here is huge! 🍓✨

Really enjoyed our Devonshire tea. Was a bit confused about the pricing as it advertised $12- for 2 scones + coffee or tea but I only had 1 scone & still cost $23- 🤔 but scones were great 👍. Purchased some relish & jam and when we got it home realised it was 4 months after best before date 🤦🏻‍♀️ Hopefully they’re ok after spending $24- buyer beware I didn’t think to check that

Thanks, Cactus Country for helping me celebrate my birthday! I booked for 15 people and they gave us the entire event room for the entire day. It was perfect to be able to leave our things while we went for a walk. I ordered platters for 15 people and they provided more than enough. It was delicious and served promptly! Can't recommend attending in the Spring enough!!

What a wonderful way to spend the most part of a day. This place caters for all from kids to ground ups ( especially older never grow up kinds ) we had a lovely day exploring the amazing cactus variants wow what a variety and you can take your dog too.Friendly staff great food and frozen margaritas yummy highly recommend

While camping in Bearii, we discovered this amazing spot to visit. We had a great time exploring the area and seeing so many different varieties of cacti all in one place. Plus, it’s pet-friendly! Before you leave, make sure to try the cactus ice cream and cake at the charming little café—they also offer a variety of food and drinks.

Great experience! Bernie is a gem - such a delight and very informative Cacti are also currently in full flowering season and the gardens are so pretty Definitely worth a visit but gets really warm in the afternoon so sunscreen is a must

We had a lovely day walking around, looking at the most weird and wonderful variety of cactus ever! The drinks and food were fantastic. Highly recommend for a day out.

This was a massive area with so many beautiful cacti and succulents. Lots of flowers, paths and photo areas to take pictures. Ticket was 25$ pp, but I’d say it’s worth it.

I had such a great time ! The atmosphere was so peaceful and relaxing. The views were beautiful, especially around sunset, perfect spot for a walk or just to sit and enjoy nature. It’s clean, well-maintained, and great for families or solo visits.

My mum and I had a lovely lunch 🥙 and chat on the lake over EasterI Its so soothing and relaxing. I’ve decided we have to go there more often when I’m visiting.

Victoria Park Lake is a focal point of Shepparton. Nice for a stroll or relax. There’s BBQ's available in the adjoining park. Lots of bird life to enjoy. Pelicans too. Some nice seating and picnic areas by local manufacturer Furphy Foundry. Worth a stop if you’re in the area!

This lake is very beautiful place for family outing ,kids.it had a very good walking track around the lake with lots of pretty native birds .lots of greenery ,tall trees and pleanty of fresh air. This is a place you must vist if ur comming to shepparton.

Surprisingly good range of vehicles, very well presented. Fun experience with a decent (albeit slightly pricey) café just next door. The collection changes as well, so one person I went with who's been before was saying that was a cool feature of the place, and I agree. Some great and rare pieces of motor history.

I have never been to a motor museum where the exhibits were as spotless as these ones. Everything was immaculately presented. There was a good range of cars, trucks, and very thing in between. Would definitely recommend a visit. Well worth the very reasonable ticket entry price.

This place is fantastic for all ages. It has it all. The concept is really interesting even if you are not a car enthusiast. Highly recommend.

So many different things to see! Much more than just cars and motorbikes. A couple of hours passed before we know it. The staff are really friendly and the amenities spotless.

An unexpected great find in Shepparton. Fascinating history of bikes, cars and trucks. Well worth spending a couple of hours. Also an extensive collection of 200 year old clothing.

Fantastic museum - something for everyone. I'm not normally into "fashion", but the amazing collection of historic bridal and evening gowns, handicrafts, as well as "what every genteel gentleman would wear", is well worth seeing. Also antique sound equipment, and other interesting items. The boys (young and old) will enjoy the classic cars, trucks, fire engines, not to mention the history of the classic LOCALLY MADE "furphy" with some great historic items on display. And if you don't know what a furphy is, all the more reason to visit and broaden your knowledge of great Australian inventions. And when you've seen it all, pop next door for some lunch at the cafe. Or have a chocolate apple!!

Decided to stop in for lunch. We were not disappointed. With a few tables available we were set for a great lunch. Awesome service and delicious food. We decided on the Pepperberry Pork belly with a side of green beans Then dessert was Red wine poached pear and the Apple crumble.

Location is pristine, right by the side of billabong with peace and tranquillity. Food is delivered fast and tastes marvellous, friendly customer service and particularly liked the way staff explained the history of the place and the menu. Beverages are unique and pleasing. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming. Ample parking space to accommodate large crowds. The drive is beautiful to the venue and by itself offers a unique experience.

A fair bit out of the way but definitely worth it. Outlook over the billabong. Lovely spacious interior with beautiful wood detailing and superb decor. Tables well separated. The atmosphere was 6/5. We shared an entree which was new to the menu and was delicious. Wife had Barramundi and I had Beef Cheek. We each had a glass of superior quality wine. We each had dessert and shared a glass of dessert wine. I had a coffee. The meal was outstanding in every way. Presentation and flavour top notch. Quantity just right (not too small!). Service was that nice laid back Australian style where they look after you, friendly without being too familiar and you feel good about it. It wasn't cheap but this was one of the best meals we've had in a while and it was definitely worth it and the travelling a bit further.

Warmly greeted on arrival, were shown you our table. The menu fantastic almost too much to choose from. The arancini balls Devine, ciabatta with balsamic vinegar excellent. Beef cheeks cooked to perfection, just melt in your mouth. Great wines, including 2017 1860’s Shiraz. An absolutely amazing experience. Would recommend highly

Had a wonderful time here celebrating my birthday! The restaurant itself was lovely, the food interesting and delicious and the service very friendly. Unfortunately I forgot the name of our waitress but she had blue and pink split dyed hair. Anyway, she did a great job and answered all our questions happily. We had the special Good Friday 2 course meal including one glass of wine for $65 pp. This was very reasonable, we were just a bit sad that the wine that was included in that price didn't necessarily include something we liked 100% so we went with the next best and then in addition ordered a bottle of moscato which we highly enjoyed. The pink moscato was so delicious! We had a variety of food between us 4. We tried the lemon and sage pasta, the roast lamb, the truffle croquettes, the meat platter and the cheese board. We were very satisfied with everything. We honestly had such a great time with our friends here. After our lunch we headed for a walk behind the restaurant looking at the wine fields. We are not from the area but we will certainly return when we are again! 🍷🧀🥖

I had lunch with my friends at Tahbilk Estate Restaurant. We ordered House Made Mushroom, Parmesan & Truffle Croquettes $21 (there’s nothing special about this dish) Roast & Brined free-range chicken breast $40 (chicken is tender and juicy) Tahbilk Seacuterie plate $68 (this plate comes with 3 pieces of oysters and 3 pieces of prawns and salmon roe crème fraiche) it’s very pricy compared with what we get from this dish Chargrilled 230g Angus Eye Fillet Steak $58 (this quality steak was cooked to perfection) Sweet potato chips (this is my favourite item from the table) Overall, service is not up to the standard. Need to call the server to top up water and server told us they don’t have anything to pack for our left over sweet potato chips)
