Awesome collection, thank you Ian and Belinda, love seeing so many of the small capacity bikes and the 'Slade' Beneli Sei is superb 😍👍Thank you

Great to see different bikes of older times. Just one large room with 2 smaller knock knack rooms off to side. If you’re passing through, make the effort to go but probably not worth going out of your way. Gentlemen who owns it is very friendly and welcomed any questions.
Kylie B — Google review
The owner was very knowledgeable and friendly and informed us of the stories behind some of their bikes.
Helen T — Google review
Excellent collection of bikes and other paraphernalia, $7 well worth the visit , even non motorcycle fans will be interested, glad we stopped and looked.
David H — Google review
I didn't go in😔It's probably a great museum but keep in mind they have Zero tolerance for dogs of any sort. Not even well behaved fur babies are allowed to sit quietly inside the door out of the heat.....I bet they accept bratty kids.

One mans obsession. What a great display. If your into bikes, go have a look.
Stuart S — Google review
A very interesting and informative display of all the is Motorcycles. All questions answered with enthusiasm and professionalism. Some great history and vintage items all on show from the local area

During my recent travels, I had the pleasure of discovering Jim Barry Wines in Adelaide, a gem that truly stands out. After enjoying their exquisite The McRae Wood Shiraz at a restaurant during my New Zealand trip, I knew I had to visit their cellar door. Although it’s on the smaller side, the tasting experience was nothing short of delightful. George welcomed us with open arms and shared his extensive knowledge about wine pairings that enhanced our tasting journey.
Enjoyed a chilly, leisurely Saturday afternoon at the cellar doo with George who was friendly, informative & generous with his knowledge & tastings :-) The Assyrtiko is unique, but the Clare Valley Cabernet Malbec & Armagh Shiraz were definitely worth tasting. Hand cream in the bathroom was a nice side bonus & don’t forget to smell the roses (literally). Thanks George
Sandi B — Google review
We were at Jim Barry Winery on May 13 and had a fantastic time! George and Sue were such warm hosts. Sue, the cellar manager, shared the winery’s history and Clare Valley’s unique geography. George’s wine knowledge was impressive, explaining each wine clearly, especially the amazing Armagh and Florita ,we all loved them! Lunch with fresh local food was super delicious and paired perfectly with the wines. Everyone enjoyed so much! Highly recommend this lovely winery for a fun, tasty experience!
Thawee W — Google review
We just had a tasting at Jim Barry winery and were looked after by George. George went above and beyond for us - educating us about the wines, prompt service, and friendly nature. Jim Barry is the perfect place to go no matter the size of your party. Hopefully George is working because he is a king!
Georgie B — Google review
I highly recommend spending some time here. I am the biggest fan of JB so when I accidentally stumbled across their Cellar Door boy I was was chuffed with myself. The man behind the bar was super nice and helpful. The tours weren't on during my time here but I'll definitely be coming back. I was able to buy a few wines from here and do some taste testing. Highly recommend
Roaming B — Google review
A very memorable tasting experience. George (the cellar door manager) went above beyond to showcase the best this legendary, high quality winery, has to offer. His description of the wines really brought them alive. It is a joy to spend time with someone so knowledgable and enthusiastic about their product. Thanks George, and thank, you to the team behind Jim Barry Wines. Quality is it's own reward.
Brett T — Google review
Thanks for a great cellar door experience George. We loved the tasting notes and background. Your knowledge was impressive, as was your dry sense of humour. Thanks for making our first visit to Clare Valley wonderful.
Darren S — Google review
Nice views, but the outdoor seating is like sitting in a car park. Possibly the smallest glass of wine I've had for the money. Nice enough wine, but if I had to choose where to spend my money I'd pick elsewhere.

Such a lovely winery but do be prepared for a quirky vibe! Mark is definitely a character but that's part of the vibe of the winery and the wines. Delicious wines as well.

Mark is a ‘mad bastard’ but, in the refreshingly honest and hilarious way. Enjoyed his wine and his company. Different experience to the surrounding vineyards.

Nestled in the picturesque Clare Valley, Knappstein Enterprise Winery is a gem for wine enthusiasts seeking an authentic experience. With a philosophy centered on minimal intervention winemaking, this winery has gained recognition for its exceptional Shiraz and Riesling. Visitors rave about the personalized service, particularly from hosts like Maddy, who crafts tailored tastings based on individual preferences rather than simply pouring wines.
Friendly and relaxed vibe. Knowledgeable and lovely staff. May have bought a few wines! Recommend those in the pics.
Chrissy R — Google review
We were looked after so well (sorry I can't remember our host name). Lovely tasting of the wine range.
Richard J — Google review
Pleasant experience with Maddy. All her explanations were useful. I would recommend to try the Gewürztraminer, very refreshing for a warm summer!
Marc W — Google review
It was an absolute pleasure to visit and Maddy was phenomenal with her knowledge of wines and ability to explain all the different tasting notes. All the wines are reasonably priced too - so much so we took 6. I'd definitely recommend this as a "need to go to" in the Clare region
Tim S — Google review
Quality wines at modest prices. Maddie exceeded expectations and was exceptionally helpful with tasting suggestions. So we joined the club for a quarterly shipment. Thank you Knappsteins.
Jeff D — Google review
A must visit winery. Fantastic Riesling, Chardonnay and Merlot from their selection of wines. Super friendly staff, especially Ann who created an amazing experience for us and also went the extra mile to give us some information about the region. As recommend by Ann the Shiraz and Riesling paste they sell go very well with cheeses and meats.
Hitesh M — Google review
We loved knappstein and can't wait to visit again. We did the classic tasting and loved the Pinot gris and Clare valley Riesling. We also got to try the insider Gewürztraminer and the insider Riesling. We loved those so much we had a case of each delivered to our home in Sydney. Absolutely love the wines here

We stopped in to do a self-guided tour of the station and loved it! It was very fascinating to learn the story behind this important piece of local history and we are so grateful that it has been so well preserved and maintained so tours like this can be possible. A lovely experience that we would highly recommend.
Jess M — Google review
Bungaree Station offers a wonderful blend of history, comfort, and warm hospitality. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Julia J — Google review
Peace and quiet in a magical setting. So much history and well maintained. Helpful and friendly staff/owners. Highly recommend a stay or visit to Bungaree
Lynne V — Google review
Dropped by here while driving through not knowing what to expect. This was extremely informational on the history of the station. Highly recommend. Tour is self paced and takes as long as you want. I recommend at least 2 hours.
Brendan M — Google review
We got married at Bungaree on Saturday and could not have asked for a better location or a better day! It is such a beautiful venue and Vicki, Mark and the staff made it so perfect with their communication, professionalism, friendly nature and wanting to help wherever they could. The option to stay on site is perfect, with beautiful buildings that have been restored and breakfast for the next morning. If you need a venue for a wedding, an event or a weekend away, Bungaree is honestly the perfect place to go Thank you so much for making our wedding so perfect xx
Hannah M — Google review
Just an incredible, historic place. Multiple types of accommodation. Comfortable and well appointed. Everything you need, 10 minutes from Clare.
Robert “ — Google review
Bungaree Station, oh, where do I begin? As a wedding photographer, I've had the joy of clicking my shutter in many places, but Bungaree Station is like that favourite coffee mug - familiar, comforting, and always bringing a smile to my face. Every time I step foot on this historic property, I'm greeted by the rustic charm of the old station buildings, the whispering wheat fields, and the welcoming woolly residents (the sheep, of course!). It's like stepping into a living, breathing storybook, where every corner has a tale to tell. The Church, with its quaint charm and serene atmosphere, has witnessed many heartfelt 'I dos' through my lens. The Woolshed, with its rugged character, has been the backdrop for countless lively receptions. These structures, steeped in history, add a unique charm to every photo I take. But it's not just the place, it's the people too. The team at Bungaree Station is like the friend who always has your back. Their warm hospitality and dedication to making each wedding special are truly remarkable. As the sun sets, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, and the station lights up with laughter and music, I often find myself pausing, camera in hand, soaking in the magic of Bungaree Station. It's not just another wedding venue; it's a place that feels like home, a place that's a part of my own story. Bungaree Station, with its charm, history, and warmth, is a delight to work at and definitely deserves a five-star salute!

Clare Valley Model Engineers

Scenic Railroads
Clare Valley Model Engineers is a tourist attraction that offers enjoyable experiences for all ages. Visitors can ride on a miniature coal-driven steam train, which costs $2 per person and lasts around 10-15 minutes. The volunteers who devote their time to this place ensure that everyone has a great time, including young children and even elderly individuals like an 87-year-old grandma. The setup of the tracks, bridges, and tunnel surrounded by beautiful gardens adds to the overall charm of the attraction.
Interesting experience. Kids really like it. For $2 per trip, you can take a big ride on the small train. Many thanks to the staff and volunteers for their excellent work.
Lu L — Google review
A gem in Clare and loved every bit of it. As an engineer it felt like a childhood dream come true to see the model engines. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Look forward to bringing my kid when he’s old enough to appreciate.
Anuradha W — Google review
Hey, you don't have to be a kid to enjoy this place. I had a great time riding around the track on a miniature version of a coal driven steam train. And at $2 per ride per person it was definitely a highlight of my short trip to Clare. And congratulations to all the volunteers that devote their time to something they enjoy.
Michael C — Google review
The best place to visit. It was worth travelling 1.5 hours. We rode 4 time the train. It was extreme fun and the kids were really happy. The staff were nice and friendly.
Yogendra ( — Google review
Really cool small rideable trains (7guage rails I think). Several tracks running through the park & I saw atleast 15 different engines. 1 was even an early 20th century tram car. Lots of parking. Wheelchair accessible BUT still need to take a bit of care (parking area not concrete smooth but is sealed). Please call in advance to check open days. They also do group/private bookings & tours.
Darryl B — Google review
Awesome experience and full of information. David took us all on great adventure. If you love trains it's a must!!
Ozzy O — Google review
We stumbled across this fabulous miniature locomotive park and my son absolutely loved it! We were lucky enough to arrive on a day where the trains can be ridden. Such a nice attraction.

Attended a birthday party here. Excellent set up with great tracks, bridges and a tunnel surrounded by lovely gardens. Wonderful volunteers who make the rides fun for the kids young and old-including my 87-year old Grandma!

Gladstone Gaol

A great gaol to visit. Not only was it built way back but it only closed down in the 1970s. 3 big cell block wings and a smaller one out back. This gaol gives you a glimpse in life behind bars through a 100 odd years. Love the artifacts found on site along with period clothing. Well worth the look. Make sure you have more then an hour to spend here as it is worth it. Why not take the stairs up the tower to get a birds eye view of the whole jail. And if you want to stay here why not arrange accommodation with the jail and spend a night or 2. Bring a jacket as it is quite cool inside.
Robert S — Google review
This place is amazing my children loved going there and staying over night facilities are good the showers although separate from the goal are better than those at home hot and powerful. This needs to be opened again the story of no caretakers isn't true there was willing volunteers but others bitter about not being selected for the role saying things that resulted in the current caretakers being asked to leave. More hassle than the council was willing to deal with unfortunately.
Dmac T — Google review
Stayed a night there... nice clean place... $40pp for touring and staying in the cell. Stayed there with group of friends abd eaxh if us got our own cell to lick in ourselves.. There is full kitchen facility including bbq microwave and fridge. There is a shop also inside where they sell clothes and toys.. Toilets are clean. At night time the place gets very spooky which is good! Our tour guide was really friendly abd we get to know the history behind the gladstone gaol, which was pretty full on Overall we had a great experience and keen to visit there again
Sukanya D — Google review
Went on the open day tours and displays where fantastic.we will return another day.Well done to the organisers
Tony S — Google review
Gladstone Goal closed to the public 2022 for repairs when the caretakers handed in the keys. For a heritage listed tourist attraction it is a disgrace that the goal has not been reopened. The goal has tremendous potential but the government owner does not appear interested.
Wayne — Google review
Definitely worth a gander, was only shut in the late 70's,heaps to explore including the central tower up some steps. 8 bucks an adult, the walls are impressive, the cells creepy and thought provoking. Friendly people looking after the joint.
Andrew G — Google review
Great and old it gives you an insight into what it was like there. The people that own it are amazing locals and are very welcoming. Take the kids they will love it. So come down and see what it looked like back then.

Great place to stay overnight so you can explore the town. Birth place of RM Williams. Room for 5 vans or motorhomes on prepared level gravel sights. Bins on site and fairly new very clean toilets across the road in the park. Dump point in town near the caravan park. $10 per night pay at the visitor centre or Foodland. Thanks Jamestown.

Great stop over $10 a night close to toilets and the local foodland where we paid for the camp site.

Adequate camping area. Train is there but you get used to item. Shops are walking distance for most. Toilets across the road in the park.

Interesting boards & carving of RM Williams who lived here as a boy
Leone — Google review
An interesting story board about RM Williams thanks to Apex and Jamestown. Nice Park and toilets across the road and free RV overnight camping
Douglas L — Google review
This monument is in a shelter shed on the road leading into Jamestown, across the road from a park. The monument is here because Jamestown is one of the places that R. M. Williams lived. If you are interested in history of Reginald M. Williams you are better off going to the museum at 5 Percy Street, Prospect (northern suburb of Adelaide) which is in original factory building and beside an R. M. Williams store.

The Jamestown Memorial Park is great feature of this mid North town. It's a green oasis in the midst of potentially a very dry area. Ideal for family parties, picnics, casual games and general relaxation. Each year community Australia Day and ANZAC Day functions are held there.

A great place to visit while travelling. This park has everything you need: easy parking with shade, clean toilets, playground, BBQ, picnic seating, grassy play areas, historic displays, and shady trees. Definitely with the stop. Don't forget to pop across the road to see the the RM Williams exhibit also.

A little hard to navigate or find buildings. Nice spot for funerals with elegantly appointed ceremony rooms and reception rooms for tea/coffee and a chat room. Playground for kids which is great for those with children to keep occupied. Lots of free parking
Pamela-Ann B — Google review
Lovely well maintained park. Chairs, tables and BBQ (undercover). Great kids playground. Clean public toilets. All fenced so dogs may be allowed? Plenty of parking.

These are the memorial gates at Jamestown. My grandfather J.P. McCormick's name is there along with his brother. He went over to Egypt in WW1. I am very proud of my grandfathers actions of going to war. Jamestown is a great town to visit if you have the time, there are some nice wall murals featuring local activities. Worth the trip

This wonderful B&B was highly recommended by friends in the B&B industry and it didn’t disappoint. The building is beautifully restored and the B&B (5 rooms) are all wonderful and generous in size with beautiful furnishings. The Queen size bed was as comfortable as being home. Siting by the log-fire at night was wonderful while reading (didn’t switch the TV on once). We checked in on the actual day of the 150th birthday of the building (by chance) and met several of the wonderful volunteers who were there celebrating the 150th with drinks & nibbles. We highly recommend this superb B&B to any couple.

What a beautiful place to stay. Home away from home so tastefully decorated with quality in mind. Spotlessly clean and comfortable with everything you could wish for. The fire was a blessing. We would recommend this property and would certainly love to stay there again if we ever go back to Burra. Julie and Kevin - Hallett cove

It was cold out side but with the fire crackling the warmth and tranquility was perfect. We were welcomed with fresh fruit, bread, milk and juice, cereal and every type of tea you can imagine the bed was warm and cozy, fully functional kitchen and a gorjus shower.. we will be back to relax and rekindle xxx thanks for the perfect gettaway

Great value, fantastic history, beautifully restored but with modern comforts, in a great location from which it is easy to explore the fascinating history of Burra. Just wish we had stayed longer and spent longer in town.

Wow what an amazing restoration done on a beautiful historical site my hat is off to them and now restoration has been started on a beautiful old train carriage and let me say it's nothing short of incredible art work to restore such beautiful South Australian railways history it is now a bed and breakfast at the station and is a must to stay at especially if you're a railway enthusiast or people that simply love the peace and serenity of the outback towns I personally love this town and go to it quite often and for me this stay is on my up coming to do list as it sure doesn't disappoint even just going to snap photos and take it all in so do your selves a favour and take the trip you won't regret it 😎🙏

Overall good experience, appreciate that you can drive to the different sites (with key). Appears some of the areas are no longer accessible so that was a shame. Toilets are available at the enginehouse.

Such a lovely place to visit and learn about, we picked a windy to go, so we ended up driving around, rather than walk as we'd planned. It didn't take away from the experience had. The interactive models allows you to look back and imagine how it was. Its an impressive site.

Self drive tour. Stone work is amazing. Very interesting information of the old mine workings. Go to Tourist inform. ctr and get a key pass for the town sites. Well worth it to get access to all the sites.
Stuart S — Google review
If you go to Burra but don't visit the mine at least once, then it's like not visiting at all. You can access the area free to some point, but to see the rest you need to pick-up the key and pay entry. That also allows you to drive your car a fair way up too without walking.
Carl O — Google review
Wow! So much history! Was the biggest inland town all because of the huge copper mine. It really is massive and you can visualise how busy it must of been back in the day. The town also reflects the beautiful architecture of that period. A great place and a must see!

Great history with artifacts on how mining was done in Burra. Did the heritage tour of the town. Remember to visit the visitors centre so that you can get a key to visit various sites and a map.

Staff at the information centre were very helpful too. Great way to spend a day in a historic area. Recommended.

Recently stayed 3 nights in Burra with our dog Autumn. Had a great stay, lots to see & do. It's a beautifully kept town & all the locals are extremely friendly. Sue & Molly, the cutie JRT in the Information Centre, were most welcoming, very informative & a real asset to Burra's tourism industry. Thanks, we'll be back soon for another Adventure!

Thank you Burra ,cant wait to return for another getaway

The staff are helpful and definitely knowledgeable to the history which is a bonus. Paid the fee, deposit and receive the keys to unlock the town history sites. Adults $30 school aged children free. It definitely is worth it. Allow yourself 4 hours to complete all tour sites.

A little eerie, it really does look as if you are rolling uphill. The way there is dirt roads and slow going. You want the sign to be on your right when you turn off the car.

Kids actually really loved this! I might have hyped up the car being pulled up a hill a bit though!!
Grant D — Google review
What a great, random attraction. A 5 minute drive from the main highway on an unsealed road brings you to this cool little stop. Just a fun random attraction that works one way or another!
Kenny W — Google review
Enjoy for 1 minute but drive for 7 hours back and forth (from Adelaide CBD). It was fun but not worth it in my opinion. It could be enjoyable for kids but again, decide if the drive is worth it. Last few kms are definitely on dirt road. But I was able to access it with ease on Mazda CX 5. It was a dry day so easy to access.

An illusion that could be the makings of some comical filming, however i would not go out of my way just to see it.

Never knew about Hubert Wilkins until visiting his house. An icon of Australian history. A key can be obtained from the Hallett shop to access the house, just need to leave a refundable deposit. Points of Interest & Landmarks
This is a massive tree, worth a look while staying in Orroroo. It's 10.89 metres in circumference! ... and many of the trees nearby are equally photo worthy.

Fantastic! A 500+ years old gum tree! What it must've seen over the years! The boughs are larger than most typical tree trunks!
Patricia T — Google review
🌳 The Giant Redgum Tree definitely lives up to the “giant” part—it’s impressively large. But beyond that? It’s a tree. Snap a photo for scale, appreciate its age and presence, then continue on your journey. One of those “you’ve seen it, now you’ve seen it” kind of stops. 😅
Meth H — Google review
Good little picnic area that looks reasonably new. There is space for a turning circle if you are towing. The tree is massive and beautiful, well worth a quick stop.

Beautiful historic site, complete with infomitive signage of the historical value. Though I would like to see some information about the significance of the site to the traditional owners (aboriginal communities in the area) BBQ area and seating under a sturdy shelter, make this a good spot for lunch after a long drive, and the public toilets aren't too far away,in the nearby township of orroroo.

This is an amazing museum. It has a working turn table with the 3 Aussie rail guages and steam train wheel weighbridge. The great thing about the museum though is you can access the trains and carriages. Fantastic history. Allow 2 hours for the guided tour.

Absolutely brilliant. Shirley our tour guide was very informative and lovely! Well worth the tour if you’re stopping in. We will be back in the future to do the night light show
Jess F — Google review
A very good evening show was put on which cost $30, and I was able to take my dog. It gave a detailed explanation of how the railway started and how Peterborough became so important. I couldn’t help wonder how anyone got anything clean with so many steam trains pumping out smoke all day! 😂 It was a good movie and light show, nicely done. Plenty of parking and toilets on site
Paul S — Google review
Fascinating look into the days of steam train travel and the major part that Peterborough played in it. Highly recommend the guided tour in the day time and the light and sound show at night.

Great collection of historic buildings and rail cars and locomotives. It's a bit sad that nothing is alive any more since they no longer have access to track to run trains. Knowledgeable guide with continuous tour around the site so you can join at any time with little wait. Timing didn't allow us to attend the light and sound show but I have heard it is very good.

Archaeological museum
The Mad Max 2 Museum, located around 20 minutes from Broken Hill in the town of Silverton, is a must-visit for movie enthusiasts. This privately owned museum showcases an extensive collection of costumes, photos, memorabilia, and original vehicles from the post-apocalyptic film series. The owner, a dedicated fan who relocated from the UK to run the museum, has assembled an impressive array of items related to Mad Max 2.
Unreal Experience – A Must for Mad Max Fans If you're heading to Silverton, the Mad Max Museum is an absolute must. Whether you're a die-hard fan or just curious about Aussie film history, this place delivers. The collection is huge – original costumes, vehicles, props, and rare behind-the-scenes photos. You can feel the passion and dedication that went into creating this space. Adrian and Linda, the owners, are legends. Their love for Mad Max and Silverton is infectious. Adrian knows everything about the films and shares stories that make you feel like you’re part of the production crew. Linda is super warm and welcoming – it feels like visiting old friends. There are areas where photography isn’t allowed, but you’ll still get epic shots outside with some of the original vehicles, including pieces from Razorback and of course Mad Max 2. Just a heads up – check the opening hours before you come out, as it can be a bit unpredictable. After the museum, pop into the local bakery – seriously, amazing food. Silverton surprised me in the best way – it’s a little town packed with big stories. — Alex from Perth

Silverton Hotel, located west of Broken Hill near the South Australian border, is a historic mining town known for its artistic community and as a popular setting for outback movies. Despite its dwindling population, the town boasts several art galleries, historic buildings, and a famous pub. Visitors can't miss the Mundi Mundi Lookout with its expansive desert views or exploring the Day Dream Mine.
Love the mozzarella sticks & Nachos. $18 Irish Coffee (Coffee w/- a nip of Bailey's & Jameson Whisky). Merch is expensive. Service awesome. With 3 Coaches a day visiting Silverton, eat at 11:30am.

Great people and our burgers were so good. The egg was perfectly done, chips were good, but we were stalked by birds! Definitely don't feed them! Lol, literally it started with one, and before you know it we were surrounded - and we DIDN'T feed them. Good food, decent prices, and a talking cockatoo at the back near the toilets. Adorable. We aren't into Mad Max, but the other memorabilia around is cool. Worth the stop.
Victoria G — Google review
This place is certainly about the vibe. The service can be a little bit short as in a bit rough but it seems okay. I definitely want to come back here and check out all the decoration. History and memorabilia of all the famous people, TV shows and movies that have used this hotel. I think the food is okay but we only got chips this time.
Anthony G — Google review
We ordered seafood basket and grilled fish and vegies. Umph, grilled fish, hot chips good but vegies and seafood basket heated food. Our wines were $8 a glass which was good. Best thing was being out there at sunset as the flies went to bed, the camel ride came into town and the donkeys grazed down the road. The hotel was very dog friendly but not busy.
Robbie F — Google review
It was a pleasure to be welcomed by 4 Donkeys when we walked over to the pub for dinner, the ‘inside’ staff were very welcoming, the beer was cold and the food was a simple menu but well cooked and timely.
Jamie H — Google review
Quite the worst pub food I have ever been served. Bangers and mash, hard to stuff up but they did. In a sentence, set a low standard and failed to achieve it. Cheap thin sausages that appeared to have been tortured in a sandwich press. Gravy that was congealed like resin. This place runs on a memory, thats all it will be to me now. Over priced and over rated. A diehard mad max fan may find the sights of of interest, otherwise save your money, time and suspension.

The Silverton Gaol and Historical Museum is a captivating destination that offers a glimpse into the town's vibrant mining past. Housed in a former prison, the museum showcases an array of exhibits that depict Silverton's early mining years. With artifacts spread across 18 rooms and cells, visitors can explore the region's history, including its transition to Broken Hill. Additionally, nearby attractions such as the Mad Max 2 Museum provide an alternative perspective on the area's recent heritage.
WOW was I mistaken, I would be in and out of this small museum in the matter of a few minutes, so so wrong. This is a huge museum covering the whole of the history of the town of Silverton, from the beginning of the mining, and showing all aspects of the whole town over the years. While we had limited time and rushed through in only a couple of hours, you could spend almost all day here. Please do not judge this book by it's cover, or its name!
Val R — Google review
Another great museum in Silverton, the Silverton Goal is a beautiful old building and had a very extensive collection of historical artefacts from the area. I had a wonderful chat with the caretaker who told me about some locations in the area where Mad Max 2 was filmed and that he and his wife were involved in the film, too.
Daniel C — Google review
Wasn't expecting such a huge amount of information and history when I walked in. Friendly and helpful staff. Allow some extra time for this sppt. A massive amount of town history on one place.
David E — Google review
I spent a good hour here today fully entertained and only left as I had the dog with me. There’s plenty to see, more than expected that’s for sure. 18 rooms of history both from the Gaol itself it also collections from the whole area. You can certainly get a feel of life in the ‘old times’ of Silverton and of the many mining exploits throughout the region. Everyone would find something of interest whether that’s family life or mining. Got to be worth a visit.

Sights & Landmarks
Nestled just outside Silverton, the Silverton Cemetery spans 42 acres and serves as a poignant reminder of the town's challenging past. Established during an era marked by mining accidents and scarce resources, this historic site offers a peaceful retreat into nature. As you wander through its grounds, you'll find white headstones standing out against the rich red soil, with notable graves like that of the famous 'Camel Lady.'
Labelled as a historic cemetery in Silverton, we travelled a little out of town to check this place out. Very peaceful place, which stretches quite far into the bushland. White headstones contrast with the red soil, and there's a few well-known gravestones here for famous locals from the area, such as the Camel lady.
