It was a beautiful experience, we felt so welcomed and the wines were delicious. The wine tasting was comprehensive and we enjoyed the conversation. Would definitely recommend a visit!

We have had a brilliant weekend in Mudgee until we visited Blacklea Vinyards. Immediately when our group of 4 walked in we felt uncomfortable, Bernard was forceful and awkward. We decided to leave before our tasting was complete, due to feeling uncomfortable. As we left we asked Bernard if we owed him anything for the tasting and he replied "only manners". We wondered why we were met with hostility from the beginning to the end as we feel that we treated Bernard with respect before and after we decided to leave. After reading previous google reviews we are now wondering if it was the fact my wife is of Asain decent. Please avoid.

This was the best meal I've ever had. A great cellar door experience before our degustation lunch. Bernard was very knowledgeable and passionate about his work, and extremely proud of Gai's work, as he well should be. Her degustation lunch was breath taking. Her balance of flavours is simply genius. Perfect blend of contrasting and unexpected flavours, in the most welcoming setting. We felt more like family than paying customers. I cannot recommend Gai's lunch enough.

A friend and I dropped in to Blacklea Vineyard and Olive Grove last Thursday afternoon. We had a very pleasant sojourn with Bernard, the winemaker and owner. We tasted all his lovely oils, balsamics, dressings and his wines. He explained in detail how he made the products and how best to use them. The service was brilliant, his storytelling infectious and his products delicious. We bought extras to make up hampers for friends. This is one place you must try if you're in the region. Or make a special trip. It's worth it.

Such an interesting and historic place. Very eerie walking through the jail cell building. Worth a visit. Street parking or parking near the information center available. Small little gift shop and toilets on site.

The old gaol has a fascinating history. You can do self-guided tours. Lots of info, pictures and holograms to bring to life the stories of the prisoners. Definitely recommend when in Dubbo.

I truly enjoyed the night tour. Lots more information on prisoners stories, more quiet to be able to hear and the two fantastic tour guides Chad and Milla. Enthusiastic, full of life and great sense of humour, excellence is my word for these wonderful young people. Thank you so much for an memorable and fun night. I did attend the day before and ended up leaving. Two groups of schools entered, at different times. Sadly it was so noisy we couldn't hear ourselves think. I feel the public could be informed of school visits to work around the school schedule, so the public can make a decision to whether to attend at that time. I feel the teachers, parents and dubbo jail have an obligation to teach our children some good old manners. This allows children to listen and respect others around them and some thoughtfulness to others. Constantly ringing the big bell was not only annoying but deafening. Never an issue or a problem on the kids having some fun, but not Constantly over and over. It was so bad we all left. But overall a fantastic experience.

Fun experience for kids with a show where kids can help a convict escape! Also really interesting and educational for Australian history.

Plenty to see and do here despite it looking really dull from the outside. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. There are character performances and self-guided tours of the cells, hospital and grounds. Plenty of exhibits and photos of the executed prisoners, if you like that part of the macabre. Worth a visit if you're in town. We spent about 90 minutes there.

Geez it wouldn’t have been an enjoyable stay in the Old Dubbo Gaol back in the day! Very well preserved and presented, gave you a real sense of what it would have been like to be a prisoner here years ago, stinking hot in Summer and bloody freezing in Winter…damn!! Glad we stopped in to check it out!

Loved it here and a pleasant way to spend a few hours,would have been a hard life here in those times and the special act they put in was fun

We came out to Dubbo in the July School holidays to visit the zoo with the kids. We’ve talked about it for a number of years and finally booked it in. We were considering staying at the zoo but you would need to remortgage the house to afford it so we choose much more affordable accommodation in town. We were considering booking the carts to get around as one of our kids has a disability and can’t ride a bike but they were all booked out for our visit. This actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise as you can easily navigate the park if you have your own car and save some cash on the carts. It was super easy to ride around the loop on the bikes with the other kids and only one spot where we had to drop the gears to push up the hill. Was good being able to ride the bikes up to each enclosure and plenty of bike racks throughout the park to leave the bikes. We did the safari adventure but was a bit disappointed this was an additional cost on top of the park entry, surely this should be included, just feels like something you shouldn’t have to pay extra for. Overall the enclosures are great with heaps of room for the animals to roam but like most zoos the animals do look a bit bored and need some action. All the herding animals are too relaxed as there is no predator threats and the predators just chilling as they don’t have to hunt anymore. I’m sure punters would pay good money to see the animals in a more real world environment. Imagine seeing the big cats in action stalking their pray, now that would bring in the crowds. Anyways, I’ll just saviour the time I got to see a white lion take down a water hen in its enclosure many years ago at a different zoo……priceless. Overall an enjoyable day out with the kids.

We have just enjoyed a completely magical day at Dubbo Zoo. We booked a night at Zoofari Lodge. The day we spend leisurely cruising round the zoo in our car (we would have hired a “golf cart” but it was quite hot and very windy so we settled for aircon comfort). We did two circuits of the 5km round trip and saw pretty much all that we could have hoped for. Up close and personal with lions giraffes and a whole host of other animals. We checked into our lodge at two pm and sat on our balcony watching zebras rhinos and giraffes wander past as they grazed the food which had been left for them in front of our rooms. We were then taken to hand feed giraffes, and then onto a private after hours tour of the zoo after it was closed to public. Our guide Hallie was really informative, giving us a great commentary as well as answering all of our questions, and there were many! What a great experience, one we hope to repeat. And we still have another day to roam the zoo tomorrow. Andy and Gabs.

This is a great zoo with a wonderful variety of animals. I'd love if there were more carts available for hire as we arrived at time of opening and they were all sold out. It's a big day and by the time you get past the waterhole it's exhausting to think about getting out of the car....once again! But overall a wonderful day.

Quite disappointed with my visit. Most of the animals looked tired and not very active — the only tiger seemed depressed, pacing back and forth in the same spot. The rhino was just laying down the whole time, looking quite lifeless and uninterested. Didn’t see any platypus at all, even though there’s a Platypus HQ. I stayed around the viewing deck and pond area for about 15 minutes, trying to spot one under the trunks, branches, or hiding spots — but not a single platypus in sight. There was only one siamang, and a few Tasmanian devils, but they were really far away because of the enclosure and fencing setup — it kept people at too much of a distance to see clearly. The lions were in a group, and one male lion seemed alert and aware of his surroundings, which was nice to see. The meerkats were plenty, but honestly, it felt quite repetitive since you pass by several meerkat viewing points along the way. There was only one small bird enclosure with a honeyeater and a few other birds. The place overall looked a bit run down, and most of the big animals were just too far to enjoy. The best part was the Galapagos giant tortoises — there were a few of them, we could view them up close, and they seemed well cared for. The koalas were also lovely; I managed to spot three of them resting. Overall, the $50 entry fee really didn’t feel worth it. Melbourne Zoo offered a much better experience for the price. Also, make sure to buy tickets beforehand if you want to feed the giraffes, as they sell out quickly and can’t be purchased on the spot.

We had a great time at Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo. You can drive your own car through the zoo for free, hire a bike (not sure how much), or rent a cart for around $80 a day. There are several stops where you can park, get out, and see the animals up close. The zoo is really well maintained and easy to explore. We had burgers at the cafe freshly made and good! They mentioned our tickets were valid for two days, though I’m not sure if that’s the same on weekdays.

An awesome day out for the whole family. You can bicycle around, hire a buggy or even drive your own car, stopping at each enclosure with heaps of parking. Lots of animals to see in a more natural setting.

Great fun for families with young children and adults alike! The zoo is beautifully laid out, with spacious enclosures and plenty of opportunities to see the animals up close. The walking and cycling paths make it easy to explore, and the staff are friendly and informative. A wonderful day out that combines fun, learning, and fresh air!

Good exhibits about the area but a shame there was no interactive things which would be great for kids and adults alike. The view at the back where there is a Cricket pitch is stunning. Love the 1950's style classroom.

Absolutely fantastic facility. The museum was in the same building as the art gallery with a fantastic restaurant between them. The museum was very informative and the displays were innovative. I found the art exhibition somewhat confronting and feel that it needed a warning for parents. Highly recommended when in Dubbo

Interesting museum full of local history, even a school room. Cafe was good. Good coffee and scones, friends recommend the chicken salad. Exhibits free. Outdoor and indoor seating. Very pleasant.

Beautiful location for work meetings as we have organised sessions via the auditorium on many occasions. There is the ability to stroll back in time through the historical artefacts and rooms on display for those who wish to learn more n the Western Plains culture. For those who love local fish river roasters coffee and a delicious feed too, the creo cafe on site has a divine range of pastries and baked goods , as well as all day breakfast options . Parking on site and on both corner streets too is a bonus.

Fantastic regional gallery and museum, very impressive

Didn't mind that the 2 other spaces were closed due to preparing for another event. The Indigenous artists exhibition just blew me away. Am emotional tour de force (sic) The museum exhibits were also very good and well displayed. Only quibble... Very littlr about the history of indigenous peoples of the area.

This is a Must-visit attraction in Dubbo. This Japanese garden is beautiful with a little lake that has some of the most amazing colourful, huge sized Koi fish, few different types of ducks and other birds, many exotic varieties of trees plants and flowers etc. There's also bbq and seating areas located within. The relaxing atmosphere here provides for a refreshing experience. Highly recommended.

Beautifully landscaped and well maintained gardens and playground. The playground is fenced with several picnic shelters, and a toilet block right in the middle, with a flying fox, large concrete slide, climbing frames, hammock, and wheelchair accessible swing which appeared to be in good working order when we visited. Note that although fenced, the gate is left open. The Japanese gardens are enclosed separately to the playground. It features meandering pathways, a magnificent weeping willow and a large pond with waterfall, ducks and koi. Small children need close supervision in this space due to easy access to the water. There are also toilet facilities at the back of the Japanese gardens. Definitely worth a visit for all ages. We loved it so much we came twice during our stay in Dubbo.

The botanic garden development began in 1999 and currently comprises one adventure playground, and five distinctive garden spaces; Shoyoen Japanese Garden, the Sensory Garden, the Biodiversity Garden, the Oasis Valley and the Wiradjuri Garden. It is open 7 days with shorter time on weekends. You can book for guided tours by calling the council. Alternatively there is an audio app that you can download on your mobile phone. It is over a large area and can take some hours to visit. The Japanese house on site has limited numbers at any one time and hence needs to be prebooked. Popular place, need to go early to avoid the heat as well. You can get there by car or public transport. Toilets available. Uneven terrain, lot of walking. You can spend several hours here depending on your interests. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Free entry. Beautiful place. Lots to see especially in spring when blooms are out. Lovely place for picnic. Great place for photography.

Very interesting place. There is no need to buy tickets for garden entry. The garden was so beautiful and very silent, peaceful. We have play area opposite Garden. Kids can Spend time the play area if they get board. When We went, we had plenty of parking but during school holidays and peak time may be busy.

Very nice garden to visit while in town, there is also a great large playground for the kids which is bigger than the average neighbourhood playground. The Zen Gardens are awesome and love all the roses.

A great experience. Staff are fantastic and so enthusiastic and evidently passionate about what they do. Heating up food seemed to keep the staff overly busy and they could consider a way to get this done quicker or have pre heated food and maybe pre made sandwiches? (Just trying to help...) Would come again to see the other cave, we saw cathedral and it didn't disappoint.

Loved this place. We spent the whole day here and did two cave tours and the discovery show. Loved the caves however they are both quite small. They are both very different, yet equally spectacular. We are lunch here and looked at the fossil in the mini museum, great day.

We had a great time and spent 1 hour there despite missing our tour due to road closures. The interactive room is so good. The Japanese gardens are also worth a look and are across the road

Park was lovely green grass. Our site was on a steep hill so either way we put the caravan either the drawbar was on the ground or the jockey wheel was chocked up very very high. Playground is out of action and the pool was closed for the whole time we were there. Being the long weekend it was not ideal when you have little kids with you. Cave tour was ok.

We loved the Wellington Caves experience with Westie. He is a fun and lively local, and a great tour guide. We've traveled past the turnoff heaps of times and never before gone in. It's really worth it and something that should be in everyone's bucket list. Thanks also to the lovely young staffer who got us in to the tour as ring-ins. Paul and Michelle.

We didn't stay in accomodation, just came for the caves tours and loved it. Had 6yo & 10yr old, grand mother and us enjoy thoroughly. Tour guide was amazing & very informative.

I’m just appalled at staff who think it’s ok to talk to guests like a school child. Don’t turn up 7 minutes early for checking or you’ll be scalded. Don’t ask if the pool ca be opened a couple of days before October (even though it’s school holidays) or you’ll be asked questions like ”would McDonald’s let you in at 4am?” Well mane not mate, but at least they have customer service. Park is lovely itself. Bathrooms are clean but could do with some plumbing work. Cave tour, not cheap and honestly, meh.

A little hidden gem. Surprised that it wasn't well mapped out on Google maps. The entrance to the gardens is before the point set out on Google maps. Once you go in, it's mostly a self guided tour. Great place to go in and enjoy the serenity. Any SUV would be ideal to drive around the gardens. We drove around in our Camry, and it was a little tricky. The fern gardens were great! Would recommend

Great garden. We were the only ones there and while we only went to the Fern Gully route (due to time constraints), it's a great relaxing place and we would definitely come another time when we visit the area again and can spend more time here. Also saw a group of kangaroos speed past us while we were in the Fern Gully section.

This garden has an amazing collection of native species. Many are rare and many are very beautiful. The garden seems to be making a strong recovery after the drought two years ago. This season has seen lots of new growth. If you love plants this is worth a trip.

Great for people interested in plants, but also really good for bird watchers. Fern gully is a great spot for kids. Huge range of plants from around Australia. Keep an eye out for echidnas, kangaroos and emus.

Age of Fishes Museum at Canowindra is well worth the stop. A terrific glimpse into the past, when fishes dominated the once inland seas. The fossil collection is a real eye opener and the result of many years of dedication putting it together. Kids with any kind of interest in science will love it. Friendly staff make it all the better experience.

If you have any interest in palaeontology or fish, then this is a must visit. If you have kids interested in dinosaurs, then I can highly recommend it as there's many interactive activities for kids. Even if you just have a casual interest in natural history it's worth a look.

Great museum covering prehistoric Age of Fishes. Best of only two similar museum in the world. We came to Canowindra only because of the museum. Exposition includes only small part of fossils discovered near by. Display is very interesting and informative. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the visit.

Loved this museum could get really close to the exhibits. Staff were amazing, super friendly. Could bring my dog in with me (dog is small Jack Russell). Spent an hour and a half. Unexpected and interesting attraction in a small town.

What an amazing museum! Seeing such complete, ancient, rare, large, fossil fish was amazing . You are allowed to touch them giving a unique, hands on experience. The staff ween so helpful and knowledgeable to help my family understand everything. The displays had easy to understand descriptive texts to help as well. With tv monitors showing what these fish and life was like almost 400,000 years ago way before the dinosaurs. There were 3 large sections plus an outdoor area full of info including timelines going back to the beginning of the earth and so the beginning of life. This helped us all place how these armoured fish evolved along with dinosaurs, mammals etc etc all the way to humans. This is a truly world class site!

Loved to go here for a cappuccino or a spider on the hoter days on my time working around canowindra. Friendly people working here and Wi-Fi.

Adequate for a quick stop without hassling over township parking

A quirky gem in a lovely little town. It's basically an antiques and knick knacks shop, with interesting stuff not overpriced. It has a good little cafe doing decent coffee and simple food like toasties and cakes. Very helpful, friendly staff.

Stopped in on our way home from Bathurst last year. What an absolute treasure. Food was excellent, small menu done very well. The rest of the shop was an amazing treasure trove of kitchen, giftware and furniture.

Nice shop with great variety of kitchen gadgets and home decor items. Great that they do decaf and gluten free (just ask if they have gf bread) though a bit surprised when, after browsing the shop I offered to carry our drinks outside and was refused twice... not sure why. But strange and abrupt. Wouldn't say the service was with 5 stars today.

Make sure you have time to meander through this quaint shop/house. Full of fascinating and reasonably priced home wares. Good food, coffee and hot chocolate. Lovely staff. Very helpful.

Super welcoming and knowledgeable hosts, excellent wines to try, and a delicious antipasto plate loaded with local goodies. All enjoyed on a quiet verandah shaded by a giant grape vine. If you're travelling through Mudgee a lot of cellar doors are closed during the week. Burnbrae is open and it was not crowded on our mid week lunch time visit. We purchased their sparkling white and a Shiraz. If you want to experience a Mudgee wine tasting then I definitely recommend you try this place. It's not far from the Honey place just down the road.

Wife and I visited this place over the long weekend. Attended to by the owner. Lovely lady who was an absolute crack up. Great attentiveness and service. Also the pizza was to die for. A bit of a pizza snob here and this was in my top 3. Cracker crust and a wood fire pizza that’s not sloppy and watery

Our wine tasting host Tayla was so delightful, warm and welcoming and very knowledgable. We had a wonderful time and I don’t even drink wine. It’s a very cool place and my husband vouched for the quality of the wine. The proof is in his purchases. Highly recommend a trip to this slice of paradise.

Being a wedding photographer and working at Burnbrae often, I knew I needed to get married here! We chose Burnbrae, Not just because of their incredible wine and beer but because of the versatility. We really envisioned a wedding that was fully outside under the fairy lights and they didn’t disappoint! The fact that it also has an amazing wet weather option really made our decision final. Dotty and the Burnbrae team were amazing to work with and made our wedding so much fun. Nothing was ever an issue for Dotty and she was so helpful in every aspect of our day. She literally made our wedding dreams come to life. All of our guests are still talking about how good the day was. Great winery on Mudgees wine trail, a few kms out of town. The wine tasting is amazing, and their pizzas were terrific. We had 2 pizzas. You won't leave without a sneaky bottle or 2 of Moscato. Yummo

This place is amazing, I am a certified Chardonnay hater but theirs is fantastic! The first time I’ve ever ordered a glass of Chardonnay in my life! Plus the atmosphere was beautiful and the cheese plate was generous and delicious. Awesome staff, awesome place to spend a sunny day. Would give them an extra star if I could!

Today we had a great experience and time at Heifer Station just outside of Orange. The wine tasting was very good, just the right amount of information without anything pretentious and best of all we were left alone with the wine we were tasting at the moment so we could relax and discuss it privately. Their wines are superb and well worth the visit. The wine tasting notes had a very humorous touch which made them even more interesting to read. We also had the cheese platter which was very generous with a great selection: goats cheese, aged cheddar and a Brie, almonds, figs and a delicious relish. We had a great chat with the manager, Chewy, giving us the history of the original shearing shed converted into their tasting room as well the original old Cobb & Co stables beside the shed. It is definitely a great place to go even with young kids as there is a huge outdoor area with farm animals and a sandpit full of toy diggers.

Completed a wine tasting with a large soccer crew. Staff were friendly , and accommodating. Had a wine tasting and got the cheese and children's platters which were super cute.

The wine tasting at Heifer Station is a must when visiting Orange. The property is gorgeous and we loved visiting the animals on site after our tasting. Jordan was very knowledgeable, easy going and made the experience fun. Didn’t have the kids with us this trip but they would have loved the sandpit. Highly recommend.

An amazing winery! We went unfortunately on a very wet rainy day, but the staff made our experience so wonderful and warm with a hot fire place inside! Jordan took such great care of us, and was so knowledgeable on the wine region of Orange. Beautiful wines, and a surprisingly great house gin! We will definitely be back.

Charming little place to get anything to do with honey. Learned about Mead and was surprised to really enjoy the honey beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The staff are very knowledgable and helpful. They are very good at upselling! We spent over $200! Definitely worth a visit.

Great place to try and learn more about honey. The woman that helped us was so friendly, happy to chat with my son about his questions on bees. The self serve tasting was so good, we had no idea there were so many favoured honey options. The whole shop was full of all sorts of great products. Very neat and clean. We left with lots of honey and even tried their ice cream which was excellent. This is worth the visit.

They used to have a demonstration of bee hive and honey extraction process which is closed for a while. Besides that’s is just a retail shop now and with higher price tag. You can their honey and have a coffee if you are driving by

Not far from town. What a lovely place. There’s a variety of honey to taste before buying. Lots of varieties to choose from and there’s choc honey comb chocolate for sale as well. Small cafe in the front which sells honey flavoured ice creams. Car park available on site. Highly recommended.

Great shop with so many products related to honey and bees wax. There’s a central honey tasting area, a sample of lotions and scrubs, and a cafe that sells honey flavoured ice creams which were delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful, always asking if you need any help. They’re quite funny too even when having problems with the credit card machines. Made for a nice little shopping trip.

A lovely place with super friendly and knowledgeable staff… you will find alcohols and spirits produced with honey… so unique and memorable experience… you can taste different varieties of honey and test different skin care products made with honey too along with honey mead tastings. we loved the spiced honey mead and bee care exfoliator… you will also get non- alcoholic honey based sparkling drinks… kids loved it… and something different to regular wine tasting experience…

Stunning views, plenty of walking/hiking tracks. The summit is a bit rough, but a must visit location of your in the area.

Great natural resource to visit near Orange. Multiple bushwalking options from short and flat to challenging. Toilet facilities at the summit. No dogs allowed though.

A lovely place to relax, get your feet wet and meet friendly locals, both human and bird variety. Not too far out of Orange. Accessible and plenty of parking

Orange doesn’t have many destinations, so I end up coming here almost every week. This is the best spot! I love the view—it’s amazing and it’s free. No wonder people keep coming; it’s the perfect place to relax when you’re feeling tired.

Relaxing place to have a get together. It’s a great place to walk, run or rest. You can cross to the other side of the lake by walking on the Dam. Lovely spot. Toilets, BBQ, Kids playground available. Parking plenty

A great spot in the summer. Fast to get to and plenty of parking. Not crowed out. Swimming was great. Water was refreshing but not cold. Swim platforms are anchored a short distance off the beaches. There is clean sand and grass perfect for picnics. A kiosk is available for coffee, cold drinks, snacks and ice creams. The dam is perfect for swimming with the ducks.

Was so nice to find this lake. A little beach area on both sides of the lake. Everyone was there swimming, paddle boarding. Great walking area over the bridge and to the other side of the lake. Also a tea house was there. Had a good variety of choices of food and snacks.

Beautiful lake. When we visited it started raining so could not finish the walk. I saw people enjoyong BBQ and swim in the lake. Great play area for kids too.

The Orange botanic gardens are well set out, with wheelchair access. The trees' leaves are putting on a magnificent colour display for autumn. Not far up the road along the highway Molong a lovely art display on water tanks for our pleasure to enjoy.

Orange Botanic Gardens in NSW is a peaceful retreat, especially during autumn when the trees burst into brilliant shades of red, orange, and yellow. The crisp air, wandering ducks, and occasional bunnies make the visit even more delightful. A perfect place for a slow walk, family time, or quiet reflection.

A beautiful spot in Orange for a stroll. The frogs were out in abundance after the rain, early spring colour and the smells of the Australian bush wafting over the rolling hills. You get the idea. Well worth an hour to explore the different species of plants and environments.

Beautiful gardens which are very well maintained. We did a slow wander around the walking paths and followed the map available in a brochure available at the main gate entrance. Cherry blossom was in bloom when we were there two days ago.

I came in July - Winter. Beautiful grass covered in morning snow ❄️, decorated with trees and water. What a sight! Tons of free parking as well.

Cook Park is an easy 10-minute walk west of the Orange CBD via Summer or Kite Streets. Cook Park embodies the seasonal colours of Orange all year round. Summer's arrival brings gardens of stunning and vibrant coloured roses. From February to April, hundreds of begonias bloom in the 'Blowes Conservatory', and in Spring, a burst of colour arrives with masses of tulips and daffodils. A great picnic spot as well with ample playing areas.

Beautiful park for a relaxing day out! The scenic walking paths wind through plenty of gorgeous spots, with lots to see along the way. There are toilets and plenty of rest areas, plus a great playground if you’ve got kids in tow. The highlight for me was the group of friendly ducks who decided to follow me for part of the walk, absolute charmers! A lovely place to spend an afternoon.

Large park with lots of seating. A pond with ducks even, huge trees to marvel at also Flowers in winter mode but one can see potential. Greenhouses not in operation. Handy arts and craft store. Purchased a phone/ipad style mount. Works a treat. Enjoyable stop with walk around. Lots of street parking mid afternoon. Bit cool this time of the year but nonetheless worth the effort.

This is a historical park here in Orange and is a must visit. I will be returning many times as the park and its beauty changes daily. There is so much wonder and history to enjoy and be amazed by . Orange is known for its seasons, and this park is a fabulous place to partake and enjoy nature in all its glory. Add this to your daily walks or at least a weekly visit as this garden awakes from its winter slumber.

This is the best local information centre I’ve been to. It’s more like a museum and gallery. The collection shows the rich history of Hill End and the technology tastefully brings it all to life. There’s something for all ages. Once you’re done head next door for a coffee at the cosy General Store.

Really cool experience, the mines were stunning! It felt like if you were a gold miner in the 1800s! The ladders at the end of the mine were a bit sketchy, but I was more focused on how amazing everything was! The museum I personally didn't find that interesting, some parts were cool but I really wanted to just move through to the mines. HEADS UP IF YOU GO HERE!! They don't take card! Make sure to bring cash with you, $10 pp... If you forget cash then you have to drive 5 minutes into the hill end town and bank transfer at the "hill end general store" so bring cash! Also there was literally no one there at opening (10:00am)

For my two Minecraft loving son's - they wanted to visit the mine!!! And it didn't dissapoint. The museum is thorough and extensive and really interesting, but the underground mine is a really wonderful experience, we went through three times and climbed the scary exit ladders! Great fun for everyone, no matter your speed or interest.

We recently had the pleasure of experiencing an unexpected surprise visit to History Hill which turned out to be a fascinating journey through Australian and Gold history, even incorporating some Chinese aspects. The museum was a treasure trove of artifacts, exhibits, displays and rooms showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region. The museum also had an extensive collection of gold nuggets, coins, and other artifacts, highlighting the importance of gold in shaping Australia's economy and history. The exhibits provided a fascinating insight into the lives of the prospectors and the impact that the gold rush had on the Australian landscape and economy. The museum had several exhibits that showcased the contributions of the Chinese miners, including their innovative mining techniques and their cultural traditions. It was eye-opening to see how the Chinese culture had influenced the development of the mining industry in Australia, and how they had adapted to life in a new and unfamiliar land. Our unexpected visit to this local museum was an unforgettable experience. I was impressed by the breadth and depth of the exhibits, and the interactive displays made the history come alive. We highly recommend this museum to anyone interested in Australian history, mining, or just looking for a fascinating and educational day out. Although it is looking a bit tired and dated, it is well worth going! But remember TAKE CASH! $10 per adult! But absolutely worth it! Seriously though, take cash. The whole town operates on cash (or gold if you're lucky enough to find it!).

Cash only to get in, just to warn you. But there is an amazing amount of history in there. From old guns, to mining equipment, to old Christening gowns. Plus the mine itself. Definitely recommend, incredible value for the price of entry.

So much history packed into a nicely curated museum. I love reading all the notes the owner left in each display. It likes going back in time. The place is well-maintained and thank you for preserving the history of the area. The 7 ladder climb is so much fun, everyone should give this place a go. Hill End township is lovely with so many kangaroos. Highly recommend for anyone visiting NSW west center.

We recently had the opportunity to visit and we were not disappointed. We were amazed at how many items were held in the Museum and an incredibly affordable entry fee too! Exploring the mine was fascinating and the welcome we received when we arrived was great! It's certainly worth the visit!

Exceptional. As an European, I usually don’t like light red wines, as they are too watery and tasteless for me, but each of Anullong Wines was very good and really tasty. We ended up buying the red six pack. Tricia’s customer service and knowledge about the wines was excellent.

Fantastic price for the wine tasting that has not been beat by any other places we visited. Staff was friendly and really helpful. Wine was awesome, our most favorite was Pinot Noir and Harriet. Sagrantino came with awesome biscuits, highly recommend to try the combo.

Only problem we had was we couldn't decide which wines and bubbles we liked the most so ended up buying a mixed dozen (which isn't recommended space wise when in a tight campervan)! 🤣 Loved the experience and highly recommend!! 👍

We visited Angullong yesterday and it’s become one of my favourite wineries in Orange region. All the wines we tasted were amazing and the hospitality was exceptional. We enjoyed learning about the family history as much as the wine. Highly recommend and would love to come back soon!

We recently visited Angullong wines as a group of 8. The two wonderful ladies were amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here, the wines were simply amazing and they were thorough with the tasting. We would recommend them 10 times over. If you are visiting the orange region, you must visit Angullong.

Spent a few days in Millthorpe and had a wonderful wine tasting experience at the Angullong cellar door. Kate was a brilliant host and the wines were excellent. Their newly released Marsanne was a standout for us.

We loved the wine tasting at Angullong. Shayne looked after us and she is so Knowledgeable and charming (she even remembered us from months before). Make sure you book online and have plenty of time for tasting. They are so generous here and there are about 20 wines to try. I especially loved their reserve Shiraz, late harvest Riesling and Pinot Grigio (and walked away with a number of the reserve and late harvest - I still have last year's Pinot Grigio). They have all price and palate points covered, I highly recommend going to angullong.

Best place we visited near Bathurst! A fantastic place with so much to look at. We had a good talk to the owner as well which made it even more interesting. He tells us that they will be opening the basement level with the kitchens very soon. I’d be delighted to go back.

A timeless gem in Bathurst! Abercrombie House is one of those places that completely transports you to another era. From the moment I stepped onto the grounds, I could feel the history and character of this magnificent 19th-century mansion. The Scottish Baronial-style architecture is stunning. Every gable, tower and stone detail tells a story. We were blown away by how beautifully the Morgan family has preserved the estate since the 1960s. The rooms are filled with antiques, period furniture, and little touches that make you imagine what life was like here over a century ago. The gardens and surrounding grounds are lovely, peaceful, green, and perfect for a slow stroll or photo moment. I can tell this place is looked after with real care and passion. Whether you’re into architecture, history, or just want a relaxing and memorable outing in Bathurst, Abercrombie House is an absolute must-visit.

A beautifully preserved house with a lovely collection of antique and historical items. It offers a charming glimpse into the past and is definitely worth a visit. We even spotted a beautiful peacock and two friendly cats during our visit — a delightful surprise that added to the charm of the place!

A beautiful house in Bathurst being restored by a passionate couple. Some rooms haven't been done yet but most have & they're lovely. The more people who visit means more work can be done! Worth a visit & a stroll around the grounds to meet the resident peacocks & see the vintage car collection.

A true icon and amazing destination for not only car racing fans. The views are beautiful, especially on a clear winter morning with the low cloud across parts of the town. Everyone you speak to on the mountain has a smile on their face. The walk is awesome and a great heart starter before jumping back in the car for a 3 hour drive. Thoroughly recommend the visit.

One of the all time greatest experiences of a life time. All fans of motorsport need to go to Mt Panorama, Bathurst at least once in your life. Awesome!

Finally made it to Mount Panorama, and wow, what an experience! Even when there’s no race on, just driving the circuit at normal speed gives you chills. The elevation changes, the sharp turns, the views over Bathurst… it’s unreal to imagine the pros flying through it at full speed. I stopped a few times to take in the scenery and honestly, every corner has history written all over it. The National Motor Racing Museum nearby is also worth the visit. So much passion and heritage packed into one place. Whether you’re into motorsport or just love a scenic drive with serious Aussie character, Mount Panorama is a must-visit. I left with a full heart, a phone full of photos, and a huge smile. Can’t wait to go back! 🏁🇦🇺

It was interesting to have a look at the track and get an idea of what it's like to drive around. Speed limit is 60 can't imagine the speed the drivers do and in terrible weather conditions like this year. They are crazy or very brave

A wonderful little gem of a museum! Pun fully intended. We came with our kids on a weekday during school hours and it was pretty quiet. We had lots of space to explore the beautiful old rooms filled with spectacular mineral and fossil specimens. The displays are laid out with great visual appeal and well written educational information. We greatly appreciated the hands-on experiences for small children especially the microscope and dinosaur toys. Also the picnic table in the courtyard for a bit of morning tea before we entered. Staff were friendly and helpful, bathrooms clean and well maintained. Overall a lovely experience. I would recommend about 1.5-2 hours.

Such a great museum with permanent fossil / mineral displays and other cool temporary exhibitions. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and clearly love this place. Shout out to the descriptions of tumble rocks and crystals at the gift shop, factual and science-based instead of wishy washy energetic 'benefit'.

A fascinating variety of minerals despite the small size, they had an engaging perioidic table and how they excavate the minerals, perfect for primary school aged kids.

Loved this museum! Our grandsons loved the T-rex skeleton (they were huge!), the fossils and the insects and animals in amber. I loved the displays connecting the periodic table to modern living; they are an inspired way to show how these minerals are used today. The mineral displays were beautifully presented with good information.

Very modern and interactive museum specifically tailored for kids. Stunningly set in an old church. The T-Rex skeleton was fantastic, and so many things to touch and feel, and history of the earth video was great. Only a few small rooms here though, and an hour is enough. Definately worth a visit though.

It is a spectacular 65 hectare private garden that is open to the public. It is considered to be one of the the largest and most spectacular cool climate gardens in the Southern Hemisphere. It has sprawling gardens, maze, chapel, stumpery, aviary, garden rooms and every other feature across the garden. Popular place, need to go early to avoid the heat as well. Fair bit of walking around, some under shade. Uneven terrain, lot of walking on paved pathways mostly. Popular with tourists and locals. You can spend several hours here depending on your interests. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Toilets available. Restaurant available at main entry/exit point. Beautiful place. Lots to see. Parking is easy at off peak times. Great place for photography. You can book ready installed tents for overnight stays.

A very wonderful place to visit. We went there Autumn season. The weather was perfect and the plants are vibrant. I suggest coming early to secure parking. We were not able to do the maze simply because we have a pram and a 2 year old with us. Nonetheless, the experience was worthwhile.

There was a lovely woman and a kind man at the café—maybe the owners or staff—and both were super friendly and welcoming. I asked for my coffee to be really hot, and they nailed it! (Not everyone gets that right.) The atmosphere was so cozy and peaceful. We spent around two hours walking in the garden, and had a great time with the kids. Thank you so much for your genuine kindness and warm smiles. ☺️ I absolutely recommend this place!

Lovely cool climate garden. Will be spectacular a little later in the spring, and stunning during autumn. Cafe on site, staff friendly and helpful. We had a shared cheese/ meat platter for lunch, very filling. We visited during the week, and it was quite busy, would be extra busy on weekends and during holidays. Location: nice quiet location about 10-15 minutes drive from Oberon (watch out for kangaroos/wombats/rabbits if driving at dusk/dawn/evening). Oberon has supermarkets, a few restaurants/bistros etc. so is convenient if you need to buy any essentials,etc. Service: excellent - Pauline is a wonderful host who loves her animals and maintains a very well kept farm. Given it was winter she had the fire going before we even arrived. Make sure the family listens to her instructions (for safety, etc.). Pauline has taken a number of animals in which she has brought up since birth and she has a great connection with them and a real care for animal welfare. Rooms: very well kept by Pauline and her family. We had a 2 bedder and there was spare firewood ready to go and warm blankets and spare pillows etc. Kitchen has everything you need for cooking - tea, coffee, sugar and even a packet of Oreos were there as well as a large 10L water container (water is rain water so will need to otherwise boil). Note, no wifi but phone reception on every reception is perfectly fine (although it is a perfect spot to just disconnect). Room also had a large TV. Must Do’s: - horse riding: excellent for kids, etc. horses are very well kept and we saw a large mob of kangaroos up close. Kids really loved the horse ride and will be back to do the longer one. Listen to Pauline on how to guide the horses and you will be fine. - buggy ride: led by Pauline this was brilliant and kids loved this. Get to see the entire farm up close. - farm tour: this was awesome and felt like a safari with animals sticking their heads in for food. Took a wonderful video of the horses running elegantly beside/behind us (unfortunately cannot upload into review). - stargazing - so dark and clear in the night sky (make sure you get a stargazing app) - warming up in front of the fire Animals: large number of very elegant and beautiful horses, cows, sheep, goats (including Jake the goat who thought it was a sheep), emus, camels, pony (which likes being around the emus), Gingie the cat, alpacas, and the dogs Red and Bear (white dog which is very photogenic and roams around the farm) - they are very timid and lovely dogs welcoming all guests (Bear does like a tummy rub) and a large charming pig (just needs to be left alone given previous poor treatment from some guests). Pauline also has stories about each of the animals. What you need/recommendations to bring: - a love of animals - willingness to listen to Pauline’s instructions around farm/animals - food to cook (can also eat at Oberon which is not far away). - Toiletries (body wash, shampoo, etc.) - Go Pro (unfortunately forgot this but make sure you have particularly for the horse ride). - Phone lanyard (for photos). - SLR camera (phone camera probably does not give the beauty of the farm justice). - warm clothes (if in winter/chilly mornings). - if you have an EV car make sure you have a charging cable for chargers at Oberon (otherwise Bathurst is closest for chargers with cables). Overall it was a wonderful experience and a nice place to just get away from the city.

We stayed two nights over the long weekend in the two bedroom cabin. It was a beautiful experience for our family of five. The cabin was comfortable and simple. My daughter and I did two horse trail rides and loved it. We all did the buggy ride which was great fun, especially for my 12 year old sons. Pauline is very friendly, informative, hard working and safety conscious.

We booked a farm safari last minute for our group of 6 and we absolutely loved it! Michael and Kris were so sweet and helpful in answering all our animals questions and overcoming some of our camel fears (turned out Dixie and Delilah were the most gentle). The rescue animals are so well looked after by Pauline and team. We highly recommend the experience 10/10 ✨

My family and I just love visiting the farm. I absolutely recommend this beautiful property to everyone. I can’t keep my daughter away from there actually. This place has really changed my Daughters life in so many ways. The love she has for the horses is really something beautiful to see. The owner Pauline is a remarkable woman and she makes us feel so welcome. My Daughter definitely has a new role model in Pauline. We will always be back.

Had a really lovely experience doing a trail ride today. You can tell that the horses are well loved and cared for which makes the experience so much more special. Pauline was so kind, welcoming and shared her vast expanse of knowledge with us. We got to see camels, emus, goats, sheep, a pig, plus more. Absolutely magical and definitely coming back for a longer stay! Thank you Pauline!

Wonderful place to visit with lots of different animals. We are happy to stay there for 2 nights and enjoyed it a lot. Very happy to meet owner Pauline and had her taking us to horse riding and farm tour. She is very kind that she rescued different animals and help them grow in the farm. Highly recommend. It is not only for kids, we and my parents also enjoyed it a lot. (Fireplace at night and gorgeous star night is a plus :D )

My son & myself love this place so much. The cottage is nice and clean. It has everything you need during the stay. The activities we joined were great too, especially the horse riding. I never like to ride on a horse last time but now my view totally changed, instruction told was clear & the host will make sure everything is fine & safe before we set off. I feel good & really enjoy it this time. The farm is well maintenance and the farm pets are all loveable. And of course, the host - Pauline. She is friendly & responsive. She never failed to reply my queries every time👍🏻👍🏻. The only downside was we are unable to stay longer ☹️ Thanks, Pauline for making our short stay so memorable 😘

Amazing place, view is wonderful and i think you can do fishing activities too. The place also has camping sites. Saw few people camping there. The road access is very easy and convenient.

Hidden jem. Loads of space for camping, caravans and motorhomes. Great fishing with trout, red fin, bass etc on offer. Playground for the kids. Dog friendly on leash plus an off leash dog area. Disabled access via concrete wheelchair ramp to wheelchair accessible pontoon for fishing or just getting up close to the water

Water views and bird life are great, plenty of grassy spots for tents to big rigs. Roads get a bit dusty

The beautiful camping spot with in 2 hour drive from Sydney CBD and heap of space to camp, fishing, hot shower facility and 48hr max stay. Nice and Big play area for kids.

I recently visited the Japanese Bathhouse in the Blue Mountains and it was such an incredible experience. The entire space feels peaceful and serene, surrounded by beautiful views. The staff were warm, attentive, and made the whole experience seamless. There are plenty of options to unwind—private onsens, public baths, and even relaxation pods. They also offer massages and facials, which take it to the next level. Perfect for a solo escape or a relaxing day with someone special. Highly recommend!

A beauty gem in the middle or blue mountains. Good reflection of Japanese hospitality and welcome. This place is so popular that you might need to book months in advance. I had reservation for accommodation, SPA massage and bathhouse. All were great. Very refreshing, and stunning view. The only drawback during my stay was we were guided to the room and one of the floor chair was broken when we got in reported to reception and they said they will have it checked and replace. Went back after 3-4 hours the chair was still broken. Lack of communication was a bit disappointing. Other than that everything was great….

Honestly don't really get the whole hype about this place. Probably because there aren't that many Japanese themed bath houses / spas around Sydney. No doubt the location has a beautiful view of the lake but that was mostly it. Its just a place for you to sit in mostly artificially painted hot tubs, even some of the paint was noticeably peeling off. The chlorine smell in every bath wasn't very pleasant for relaxation but otherwise the temperature was good. The atmosphere felt very fake and plastic, more like a theme park with the painted concrete, plastic walls, plastic bushes, plastic bamboo, painted tubs, etc rather than a natural oasis. The tea room looked lovely but the prices of tea and meals were too exorbitant to even consider, and you are not allowed to consume anything of your own apart from water. If they even let you, changing dates cost 30$ even if you book many months in advance. Overall for the price you pay the experience is interesting but I wouldn't say it was worth it.

You cannot turn up here without previously having booked online. There are no walk ins and no phone contact with the facility, everything is done online Plenty of parking with wheelchair accessible parking and entry. We were greeted by extremely friendly staff, who confirmed our booking, and then asked us to remove our shoes and socks and roll our pants up by 20 cm as we were about to walk through the warmest water, only ankle deep, to our next entry process. Here they give you a pair of thongs to walk around in and don't worry, you keep these thongs, they are brand new. You wear your locker key around your wrist and they are waterproof. So many different baths to discover. We especially loved the sauna. Lots of water refill stations and toilets spread throughout and a Japanese Cafe located within the facility. We came in spring, so still a chill in the air, which means you really appreciate the warmth of the baths. Had so much fun, will definitely be back next winter, even though they are open all year round , I think the heated pools and baths would be better appreciated in the colder months. Private rooms and baths available with massage services. You can pre book all this online. Just a little tip for anyone who feels the need to moisturise their skin after being in water. Second time at the Japanese Bath House & had such a lovely experience. Had the 1 hr Private Buro experience & then spent three hours enjoying the different baths at the bath house. One of the highlights was the herbal steam room. The staff was extremely polite & accomodating & the traditional Japanese food enjoyed afterwards was delicious. Spent all afternoon here. Would highly recommend!

A surreal and amazing experience for visitors of all ages. Meals are served at the historic Caves House and cave tours offering access to various caves are available at all times of the *year (see note below referencing temporary closures in 2025). Australians have been touring the famous Jenolan Caves since they were first discovered in 1838 - and a tourist attraction sprang up in the 1920s that have continued to draw tourists from around the world. Lit from within using hidden lighting, each major cave has its own tour guides. The Lucas Cave tour is a popular one due to the features, as is the Cerebus Cave. Dress for the cooler subterranean temperatures, even in Summer. NOTE: *The Caves at Jenolan are presently temporarily closed (2025) to enable MAJOR ROAD REPAIRS plus the refurbishment of facilities, tracks and public access. The caves should re-open again to the public in 18 months. CONS: * Ticket Pricing can be somewhat steep, but worth it. * Caves can be cold, even during mid summer. * Previous road was narrow, single lane and precarious. * Beware of the stinging nettles in the outdoor area.

Jenolan caves a world class and absolutely beautiful attraction that is located in the iconic Australian blue mountains. It's a bit of trek getting there on the small and windy road, which can be a little bit sketchy at times, but it is absolutely worthwhile. The area has many different caves for every type of adventurer and when you drive in, you drive through a massive open cave that dwarfs even the tour buses that pass through. It also has a wonderful German architectural theme due to its founding by German explorers and my favourite part is that it is always a perfect temperature of around 17°C inside the caves.

Absolutely fantastic experience at the Imperial caves tour and left us wanting to do the other tours as well. Our guide gave us a lot of interesting facts and kept us all engaged throughout the tour. Plan to be at the barrier point (from where the operator vehicle escorts to the caves) at least an hour in advance. Park and walk or take the shuttle. The walk to the caves is easier than the walk back as it's mostly downhill. View of the blue lake from the walking path is amazing. Can't wait for the lake boardwalk also to be complete. Restrooms at the parking spot and near caves entry. Cafe near the caves entry serves quick eats. Toast / ready to eat items get served faster.

A great experience!! I've been a few times. Explored many of the several caves they have. I plan on going here again. Wasn't far from here, in a small pond, I got to see my first platypus in the wild. I'm told this is a very rare occurrence.

Please purchase a tour ticket before you head out there, especially during school holidays and public holidays, seen too many people regret on the long hours drive for not be able to tour the caves. It was very nice experience with our tour, our tour guide Jaime was superb. Highly recommended for family bonding, fun activities.

Went here on a trip with friends in May 2023. We chose to do two caves, the orient cave and imperial cave. The imperial cave was a wide cave, nice crystal formations but the highlight for me was the underground river the the turquoise water, that was amazing and looked so inviting. Of course no one is allowed to swim in there to preserve its beauty. The orient cave was truly beautiful. Compared to the orient cave, the crystal and rock formations here are truly stunning. The guide was also very knowledgeable and creative, pointing out formations and what they resembled. The kids on our tour loved that as they were also able to use their creative minds to form images of the formations. The drive accessing the caves at the moment is long and tedious due to several road works and closures in the area. There is a point where you will be prompted to stop and follow their vehicle down the steep and narrow road drive. There is ample parking in the area. Overall a very unique experience and I would be happy to check out other caves again (maybe once the road works are completed).

We recently visited and did the Chifley Cave tour, it was great with an amazing and enthusiastic tour guide who gave lots of information regarding the caves, including scientific explanations on formations, as well as stories about their discovery. I highly recommend this visit and loved the entire experience! The tour is also not rushed at all so you have plenty of time to take it all in, take photos and ask questions. Book in advance as it was super busy and we were lucky to make a spot! When we went the road was closed for several km's and required a one way escort, it's fine only adds 20ish minutes but I recommend going early to ensure you are on time - there is a nice cafe with plenty of bits to eat + coffee so you will be comfy if you have a wait. Better to way and enjoy a brew than be late!

The lake is beautiful but there’s no access. It’s closed after being damaged by fire and floods in 2020-2022. Our Guide said that the reopening is planned in 3-4 years…. The best way to see the lake is at the Lucas cave tour - there’s a lookout after climbing up the stairs to the access to the cave. Or you take the walk to carlotta’s arch

A beautiful lake to enjoy walking around or to chill out at while waiting for a tour at the Jenolan Caves. The colours of the lake are amazing. Some seating along the lake to relax and enjoy the view. There is also alot of nature to enjoy here.

Beautiful place to spend a weekend. There are many caves to explore so plan your day accordingly. There is a bush walk trail next to it which is super awesome. You'll be able to see beautiful lake and a small waterfall. Must visit place.

Amazing view. Also the path along the river to the power plant is worth your while. It is 1,5km down stream and will take approx 1,5 hour return (bring picnic) but it is wonderful.

Amazing place. You can find all kind of wild life’s. Perfect for group, couples and family. Walk all the way down for a picnics area with open fire bbq thingo. Probably gotta bring your own fuel and CHECK FOR FIRE WARNING. Have pretty much all types of bridges. Including suspension, truss bridge, cantilever bridge and more. Amazing walk while waiting for your Jenolan Caves tour to start. Easy track with a lot of beautiful scenery.

Looks amazing from the view, however we were unable to visit due to road closures. We were told when we visited on the 9/6 that today was the first day it had been blue in months. Look forward to coming back in the future and seeing it close up.
