We couldn’t recommend Lazy River more highly. We had our wedding at Lazy River in March and it was the perfect venue. All the guests commented on how great it was, especially the food and service by the staff. Management was great to deal with and super accommodating!!
Laura S — Google review
I went with 2 friends for a 3 course lunch on Saturday. The food was fantastic and the service was incredible. There were several additional touches from the chef and staff to make our experience as wonderful as possible. Not to mention the venue itself is a beautiful place to eat and drink. More lunch and dinner slots are being opened - highly recommend booking in and supporting this amazing restaurant for Dubbo!
Arnav N — Google review
From the very first time we visited and connected with Lazy River Estate, we knew it was something special. Being a family-run venue, it had such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and that really set the tone for our whole wedding journey. Planning a wedding can be so stressful at times but instead, it felt like we were being looked after by people who genuinely cared about making our day perfect. Our wedding day itself was everything we could have ever wanted. The grounds were stunning and created the most beautiful backdrop, not only for the ceremony but also for the family photos we were lucky enough to capture there recently. Those photos are now some of our most treasured memories, and every time we look at them, we’re reminded of how special our day was and now being able to share that with the little family we created! What really stood out to us was the personal touch. The team treated us and our family like we were their own, always checking in to make sure we felt comfortable and at ease. That kind of care is something you can’t manufactured — it comes from the heart, and it’s what makes Lazy River so unique. We feel so grateful to have celebrated two important milestones in a place that radiates love, family, and genuine hospitality. If you are considering Lazy River, you will not regret it.
Paige E — Google review
Where do we even start? Lazy River Estate was everything we could have dreamed of and more. From the breathtaking setting to the incredible food and service, every single detail was flawless. The team went above and beyond to make our day feel seamless and so special,. The food was absolutely amazing, the service was phenomenal, and everything flowed so seamlessly. Emily in particular is beyond incredible, she truly went above and beyond for us and honestly deserves to be paid 1000x more for the magic she creates. Our wedding day was an absolute dream come true, and so much of that is thanks to you the team at LRE. We’ll forever be grateful. We honestly couldn’t imagine a more perfect venue to celebrate such an important day, and we’ll be forever grateful to the entire team for making it all possible. Our guests are still raving about how beautiful and unforgettable it all was. If you’re looking for the most stunning location paired with phenomenal service, Lazy River Estate is the place. A dream come true in every way.

We had the best time at Lazy Rivers Oktoberfest yesterday! The vineyard views were perfect, and the Oompa Loompa band!! They brought so much energy and fun with their lively tunes and quirky charm, keeping the crowd going! Some great German food, deserts & local wines, it was the perfect way to celebrate the season. Also so good to see everyone dressed up!!!!! Can’t wait for next year!

A beautiful time to visit country towns during Autumn. Cameron Park, Wellington was a welcome stop to stretch our legs. A beautiful park in the town with play area and toilets and other items of interest including the walking bridge over the river.
Leo — Google review
Another great park well done to Wellington. What a great attraction. Well worth a visit well laid out and the children's playgroud is also clean and tidy. Toilets neat and tidy also Ather Two Thumbs up to Wellington.
Nigel G — Google review
A new and interesting playground under majestic mature trees. My 3 year old and 7 year old had a fun time playing on the equipment. It varies from having the soft and clean flooring to bark. The trees around this playground are phenomenal. I looked one up and apparently its a Himalayan Cedar right behind the wedge tailed eagle statue. The gardens around the park were well maintained featuring gorgeous roses. If the town now had a full paint job to match this incredible park it would be truly spectacular.
Jennifer H — Google review
The children's play are was quite modern and relatively well kept. There were a few pieces of equipment that were broken, so caution is advised with young kids. Lots to explore for all ages, and there's picnic benches and shaded areas nearby, alongside toilet facilities. There's a small grassland area nearby too.
Kerbray — Google review
Great well maintainedcaravan park. Clean facilities. Sites for vans a little difficult to unhook if your provided a site not suitable for your size. Not sure how that happens when you provide your size.
Sean S — Google review
Beautiful park, well maintained, every visit is always a pleasure to go for a walk!!
Debra M — Google review
Great little park on a main strip with a coles and other foods available such as bakery and kebab shop. A little walk along the park offers views of flowers, a children's playground, entrance to the local pools as well as a brief step in time to read about the history of the Wellington baths. If you're going to stop in Wellington for a breather its a great place to stretch the legs

We absolutely loved Wellington Caves! We have kids aged 8, 10 and 14, and it was one of their highlights of the whole road trip. The tour and caves were amazing, and the campground was peaceful and such a lovely place to stay the night. Couldn’t recommend it more!
Bec K — Google review
A great experience. Staff are fantastic and so enthusiastic and evidently passionate about what they do. Heating up food seemed to keep the staff overly busy and they could consider a way to get this done quicker or have pre heated food and maybe pre made sandwiches? (Just trying to help...) Would come again to see the other cave, we saw cathedral and it didn't disappoint.
Doug L — Google review
Loved this place. We spent the whole day here and did two cave tours and the discovery show. Loved the caves however they are both quite small. They are both very different, yet equally spectacular. We are lunch here and looked at the fossil in the mini museum, great day.
Kristy S — Google review
We had a great time and spent 1 hour there despite missing our tour due to road closures. The interactive room is so good. The Japanese gardens are also worth a look and are across the road
Michelle B — Google review
Park was lovely green grass. Our site was on a steep hill so either way we put the caravan either the drawbar was on the ground or the jockey wheel was chocked up very very high. Playground is out of action and the pool was closed for the whole time we were there. Being the long weekend it was not ideal when you have little kids with you. Cave tour was ok.
Julie M — Google review
We loved the Wellington Caves experience with Westie. He is a fun and lively local, and a great tour guide. We've traveled past the turnoff heaps of times and never before gone in. It's really worth it and something that should be in everyone's bucket list. Thanks also to the lovely young staffer who got us in to the tour as ring-ins. Paul and Michelle.
Paul H — Google review
We didn't stay in accomodation, just came for the caves tours and loved it. Had 6yo & 10yr old, grand mother and us enjoy thoroughly. Tour guide was amazing & very informative.
Carly M — Google review
I’m just appalled at staff who think it’s ok to talk to guests like a school child. Don’t turn up 7 minutes early for checking or you’ll be scalded. Don’t ask if the pool ca be opened a couple of days before October (even though it’s school holidays) or you’ll be asked questions like ”would McDonald’s let you in at 4am?” Well mane not mate, but at least they have customer service. Park is lovely itself. Bathrooms are clean but could do with some plumbing work. Cave tour, not cheap and honestly, meh.

This place is a beautiful and peaceful. Fern Gully is close to my heart. All the different species of plants is unbelievable. Kangaroos, Emus and Echidnas The Garden is for everyone. Leave it as you found it. I highly recommend a visit to the Burrendong Arboretum You won't be disappointed and you certainly won't find a place like this anywhere else.
Rose H — Google review
A little hidden gem. Surprised that it wasn't well mapped out on Google maps. The entrance to the gardens is before the point set out on Google maps. Once you go in, it's mostly a self guided tour. Great place to go in and enjoy the serenity. Any SUV would be ideal to drive around the gardens. We drove around in our Camry, and it was a little tricky. The fern gardens were great! Would recommend
Lillian J — Google review
Great garden. We were the only ones there and while we only went to the Fern Gully route (due to time constraints), it's a great relaxing place and we would definitely come another time when we visit the area again and can spend more time here. Also saw a group of kangaroos speed past us while we were in the Fern Gully section.
Ezra T — Google review
This garden has an amazing collection of native species. Many are rare and many are very beautiful. The garden seems to be making a strong recovery after the drought two years ago. This season has seen lots of new growth. If you love plants this is worth a trip.
Greg S — Google review
Great for people interested in plants, but also really good for bird watchers. Fern gully is a great spot for kids. Huge range of plants from around Australia. Keep an eye out for echidnas, kangaroos and emus.

My partner and I were recently in Mudgee for an engagement party. I plotted our little side quest and we decided to go to Burnbrae Wines as it was just down the road from Honey Haven. Our experience at Burnbrae wines was the best! The service was amazing, the wines that we tasted were outstanding and the pizza was so tasty! We had only planned to stay for an hour, but got chatting to the new owners and stayed for 2 1/2 hours whilst enjoying the amazing Savy B. Visually the winery is stunning & rustic with a true county feel. I just loved the Savy B & the Rose. We highly recommended you make some time when in Mudgee to visit this beautiful winery. 10/10
Donna J — Google review
Super welcoming and knowledgeable hosts, excellent wines to try, and a delicious antipasto plate loaded with local goodies. All enjoyed on a quiet verandah shaded by a giant grape vine. If you're travelling through Mudgee a lot of cellar doors are closed during the week. Burnbrae is open and it was not crowded on our mid week lunch time visit. We purchased their sparkling white and a Shiraz. If you want to experience a Mudgee wine tasting then I definitely recommend you try this place. It's not far from the Honey place just down the road.
Steve — Google review
Wife and I visited this place over the long weekend. Attended to by the owner. Lovely lady who was an absolute crack up. Great attentiveness and service. Also the pizza was to die for. A bit of a pizza snob here and this was in my top 3. Cracker crust and a wood fire pizza that’s not sloppy and watery
Dave A — Google review
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay + visit to the cellar door @ Burnbrae Vineyard. We would highly recommend a visit, the staff are so welcoming + friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed + the pizzas are delicious + the wine variety was good 👍
Tracey K — Google review
Our wine tasting host Tayla was so delightful, warm and welcoming and very knowledgable. We had a wonderful time and I don’t even drink wine. It’s a very cool place and my husband vouched for the quality of the wine. The proof is in his purchases. Highly recommend a trip to this slice of paradise.
Gabrielle T — Google review
Beautiful scenery while sipping on some great selection of wines, the platter was delicious, very friendly and knowledgeable staff highly recommended
Pablo P — Google review
Being a wedding photographer and working at Burnbrae often, I knew I needed to get married here! We chose Burnbrae, Not just because of their incredible wine and beer but because of the versatility. We really envisioned a wedding that was fully outside under the fairy lights and they didn’t disappoint! The fact that it also has an amazing wet weather option really made our decision final. Dotty and the Burnbrae team were amazing to work with and made our wedding so much fun. Nothing was ever an issue for Dotty and she was so helpful in every aspect of our day. She literally made our wedding dreams come to life. All of our guests are still talking about how good the day was. We are so glad to have booked Burnbrae and it will always have a special place in our hearts. Thank you so much to Dotty and the Burnbrae team. – Steph & Tom

Great winery on Mudgees wine trail, a few kms out of town. The wine tasting is amazing, and their pizzas were terrific. We had 2 pizzas. You won't leave without a sneaky bottle or 2 of Moscato. Yummo

Great shop that sells everything with honey. We tried choc, strawberry, vanilla ice cream, and the best is their honey ice cream! They mead wine is good as well.
Vanna B — Google review
Charming little place to get anything to do with honey. Learned about Mead and was surprised to really enjoy the honey beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The staff are very knowledgable and helpful. They are very good at upselling! We spent over $200! Definitely worth a visit.
Mena D — Google review
Great range of products. Very good customer service. Yummy ice cream.
C A — Google review
Great place to try and learn more about honey. The woman that helped us was so friendly, happy to chat with my son about his questions on bees. The self serve tasting was so good, we had no idea there were so many favoured honey options. The whole shop was full of all sorts of great products. Very neat and clean. We left with lots of honey and even tried their ice cream which was excellent. This is worth the visit.
M C — Google review
They used to have a demonstration of bee hive and honey extraction process which is closed for a while. Besides that’s is just a retail shop now and with higher price tag. You can their honey and have a coffee if you are driving by
Nasir K — Google review
Not far from town. What a lovely place. There’s a variety of honey to taste before buying. Lots of varieties to choose from and there’s choc honey comb chocolate for sale as well. Small cafe in the front which sells honey flavoured ice creams. Car park available on site. Highly recommended.
Raj A — Google review
Great shop with so many products related to honey and bees wax. There’s a central honey tasting area, a sample of lotions and scrubs, and a cafe that sells honey flavoured ice creams which were delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful, always asking if you need any help. They’re quite funny too even when having problems with the credit card machines. Made for a nice little shopping trip.

A lovely place with super friendly and knowledgeable staff… you will find alcohols and spirits produced with honey… so unique and memorable experience… you can taste different varieties of honey and test different skin care products made with honey too along with honey mead tastings. we loved the spiced honey mead and bee care exfoliator… you will also get non- alcoholic honey based sparkling drinks… kids loved it… and something different to regular wine tasting experience…

We had wanted to come to Mudgee Observatory but was quite sadden that all the tours had been booked out weeks ahead. (Make sure you book in early if you're planning a trip here). Thankfully, John was super nice and showed us around during the day. We even got to see some solar flares with the telescopes! Definitely a highlight of our trip. Do make sure you book ahead so you won't miss out!

John's observatory was an awesome experience. He's very Knowledgeable picking out great views to look at through his telescopes. I really enjoyed the educational evening getting to appreciate the night sky outside of the city by spending a bit of time in a group of like minded people. Thanks John!!

Thanks John, wonderful educator and a local gem of a spot. Once you get the hang of where certain constellations are, you can spot them easier ! Good 1.5hrs of educating yourself about the basics of the universe.

A cosy, intimate and relaxed set up. John was brilliant at explaining all the stars and how things worked. He was happy to answer any questions we had. The backyard set up was so different to any experience I've had, we absolutely loved it. Well worth a trip, would do it again

Fantastic experience! We absolutely loved the venue, the team, and of course, the wine. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making the whole visit even more enjoyable. The location itself is beautiful with so much to see and do—and we especially loved the chickens!

This place is amazing, I am a certified Chardonnay hater but theirs is fantastic! The first time I’ve ever ordered a glass of Chardonnay in my life! Plus the atmosphere was beautiful and the cheese plate was generous and delicious. Awesome staff, awesome place to spend a sunny day. Would give them an extra star if I could!
Bianca T — Google review
Today we had a great experience and time at Heifer Station just outside of Orange. The wine tasting was very good, just the right amount of information without anything pretentious and best of all we were left alone with the wine we were tasting at the moment so we could relax and discuss it privately. Their wines are superb and well worth the visit. The wine tasting notes had a very humorous touch which made them even more interesting to read. We also had the cheese platter which was very generous with a great selection: goats cheese, aged cheddar and a Brie, almonds, figs and a delicious relish. We had a great chat with the manager, Chewy, giving us the history of the original shearing shed converted into their tasting room as well the original old Cobb & Co stables beside the shed. It is definitely a great place to go even with young kids as there is a huge outdoor area with farm animals and a sandpit full of toy diggers.

Completed a wine tasting with a large soccer crew. Staff were friendly , and accommodating. Had a wine tasting and got the cheese and children's platters which were super cute.

Both Greg and Chewy were terrific hosts. Thanks. Bill & friends

The wine tasting at Heifer Station is a must when visiting Orange. The property is gorgeous and we loved visiting the animals on site after our tasting. Jordan was very knowledgeable, easy going and made the experience fun. Didn’t have the kids with us this trip but they would have loved the sandpit. Highly recommend.

An amazing winery! We went unfortunately on a very wet rainy day, but the staff made our experience so wonderful and warm with a hot fire place inside! Jordan took such great care of us, and was so knowledgeable on the wine region of Orange. Beautiful wines, and a surprisingly great house gin! We will definitely be back.

A lovely place to relax, get your feet wet and meet friendly locals, both human and bird variety. Not too far out of Orange. Accessible and plenty of parking

Orange doesn’t have many destinations, so I end up coming here almost every week. This is the best spot! I love the view—it’s amazing and it’s free. No wonder people keep coming; it’s the perfect place to relax when you’re feeling tired.

Relaxing place to have a get together. It’s a great place to walk, run or rest. You can cross to the other side of the lake by walking on the Dam. Lovely spot. Toilets, BBQ, Kids playground available. Parking plenty

A great spot in the summer. Fast to get to and plenty of parking. Not crowed out. Swimming was great. Water was refreshing but not cold. Swim platforms are anchored a short distance off the beaches. There is clean sand and grass perfect for picnics. A kiosk is available for coffee, cold drinks, snacks and ice creams. The dam is perfect for swimming with the ducks.

Was so nice to find this lake. A little beach area on both sides of the lake. Everyone was there swimming, paddle boarding. Great walking area over the bridge and to the other side of the lake. Also a tea house was there. Had a good variety of choices of food and snacks.

The Orange botanic gardens are well set out, with wheelchair access. The trees' leaves are putting on a magnificent colour display for autumn. Not far up the road along the highway Molong a lovely art display on water tanks for our pleasure to enjoy.

Orange Botanic Gardens in NSW is a peaceful retreat, especially during autumn when the trees burst into brilliant shades of red, orange, and yellow. The crisp air, wandering ducks, and occasional bunnies make the visit even more delightful. A perfect place for a slow walk, family time, or quiet reflection.
Vinoth M — Google review
A beautiful spot in Orange for a stroll. The frogs were out in abundance after the rain, early spring colour and the smells of the Australian bush wafting over the rolling hills. You get the idea. Well worth an hour to explore the different species of plants and environments.

Beautiful gardens which are very well maintained. We did a slow wander around the walking paths and followed the map available in a brochure available at the main gate entrance. Cherry blossom was in bloom when we were there two days ago.

Cook Park, located on Summer Street, is a Victorian-era city park that offers a delightful experience for visitors. The park features stunning deciduous trees that create a vibrant display of colors in the autumn and provide refreshing shade during the summer months. It's a popular spot for photographers and families, with play areas and ponds inhabited by ducks. Additionally, visitors can explore The Park Guildry, which showcases local crafts and homemade treats.
It's such a beautiful park. Created in 1875. Magnificent old trees. Beautiful gardens with a glass house, pond, fountain, etc. It is a pleasure to walk through and explore. It also has restrooms, kids play area and picnic tables.

Cook Park is an easy 10-minute walk west of the Orange CBD via Summer or Kite Streets. Cook Park embodies the seasonal colours of Orange all year round. Summer's arrival brings gardens of stunning and vibrant coloured roses. From February to April, hundreds of begonias bloom in the 'Blowes Conservatory', and in Spring, a burst of colour arrives with masses of tulips and daffodils. A great picnic spot as well with ample playing areas.

Beautiful park for a relaxing day out! The scenic walking paths wind through plenty of gorgeous spots, with lots to see along the way. There are toilets and plenty of rest areas, plus a great playground if you’ve got kids in tow. The highlight for me was the group of friendly ducks who decided to follow me for part of the walk, absolute charmers! A lovely place to spend an afternoon.

Purchased a phone/ipad style mount. Works a treat. Enjoyable stop with walk around. Lots of street parking mid afternoon. Bit cool this time of the year but nonetheless worth the effort.

This is a historical park here in Orange and is a must visit. I will be returning many times as the park and its beauty changes daily. There is so much wonder and history to enjoy and be amazed by . Orange is known for its seasons, and this park is a fabulous place to partake and enjoy nature in all its glory. This is the best local information centre I’ve been to. It’s more like a museum and gallery. The collection shows the rich history of Hill End and the technology tastefully brings it all to life. There’s something for all ages. Once you’re done head next door for a coffee at the cosy General Store.

If you decide to go, a long path awaits you where you can watch kangaroos, goats, and sheep along the way. I had a great time going there with my kids. The gentleman who welcomed us was very warm and answered all our questions patiently. He clearly values history, and if you want to share that with your children, this is the right place. Definitely worth visiting!

Thanks Malcolm Drinkwater for your amazing 50 year service as curator and living legend. "intriguing view into the past and a pan for the future".
Neil B — Google review
Really cool experience, the mines were stunning! It felt like if you were a gold miner in the 1800s! The ladders at the end of the mine were a bit sketchy, but I was more focused on how amazing everything was! The museum I personally didn't find that interesting, some parts were cool but I really wanted to just move through to the mines. HEADS UP IF YOU GO HERE!! They don't take card! Make sure to bring cash with you, $10 pp... If you forget cash then you have to drive 5 minutes into the hill end town and bank transfer at the "hill end general store" so bring cash! Also there was literally no one there at opening (10:00am)
Voltaire B — Google review
For my two Minecraft loving son's - they wanted to visit the mine!!! And it didn't dissapoint. The museum is thorough and extensive and really interesting, but the underground mine is a really wonderful experience, we went through three times and climbed the scary exit ladders! Great fun for everyone, no matter your speed or interest.
Kristy S — Google review
We recently had the pleasure of experiencing an unexpected surprise visit to History Hill which turned out to be a fascinating journey through Australian and Gold history, even incorporating some Chinese aspects. The museum was a treasure trove of artifacts, exhibits, displays and rooms showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region. The museum also had an extensive collection of gold nuggets, coins, and other artifacts, highlighting the importance of gold in shaping Australia's economy and history. The exhibits provided a fascinating insight into the lives of the prospectors and the impact that the gold rush had on the Australian landscape and economy. The museum had several exhibits that showcased the contributions of the Chinese miners, including their innovative mining techniques and their cultural traditions. It was eye-opening to see how the Chinese culture had influenced the development of the mining industry in Australia, and how they had adapted to life in a new and unfamiliar land. Our unexpected visit to this local museum was an unforgettable experience. I was impressed by the breadth and depth of the exhibits, and the interactive displays made the history come alive. We highly recommend this museum to anyone interested in Australian history, mining, or just looking for a fascinating and educational day out. Although it is looking a bit tired and dated, it is well worth going! But remember TAKE CASH! $10 per adult! But absolutely worth it! Seriously though, take cash. The whole town operates on cash (or gold if you're lucky enough to find it!).
Yvette H — Google review
Cash only to get in, just to warn you. But there is an amazing amount of history in there. From old guns, to mining equipment, to old Christening gowns. Plus the mine itself. Definitely recommend, incredible value for the price of entry.
Elaine S — Google review
So much history packed into a nicely curated museum. I love reading all the notes the owner left in each display. It likes going back in time. The place is well-maintained and thank you for preserving the history of the area. The 7 ladder climb is so much fun, everyone should give this place a go. Hill End township is lovely with so many kangaroos. Highly recommend for anyone visiting NSW west center.

We recently had the opportunity to visit and we were not disappointed. We were amazed at how many items were held in the Museum and an incredibly affordable entry fee too! Exploring the mine was fascinating and the welcome we received when we arrived was great! It's certainly worth the visit!

An amazing museum full of history. Eight different buildings to explore; containing machinery, tools, equipment and other historic items from Millthorpe. Highly recommended. Friendly staff!
Chris B — Google review
Most amazing museum I have ever seen and so beautifully organized. Walking back in time through the different house rooms brought back so many wonderful memories. A real highlight was the wall of Australian Inventions. And I have never seen such a fantastic collection of blacksmithing, buttermaking, horse and carriages, tools, tractors and farming equipment. Could have spent a whole day there. And some wonderful shops in Millthorpe to fill out the day!!
Carolyn C — Google review
Very well organized and pros are widely recognized throughout the displays. Going through decades of farming, agriculture, home life, vehicles and so much more. Attention to detail with obvious dedication to clean and consistent maintenance of all areas. Outside is just as impressive with garden art, metal work and attention to detail wherever you look. Some of the old steam and tractor are interactive with short videos of some of the more popular models. With several building to see, allow yourself at least an hour.
Meryl E — Google review
A wonderful experience for all ages! The working machinery is a highlight, the displays incredibly clean, well presented and informative. So much to see in the multiple buildings, we took a lunch break! Allow yourself at least 2 hours for a good look around as there are items of all sorts that catch your eye. Both educational for the younger and nostalgic for the older, this Museum has something for everyone and local knowledge from the guides. A must see in Millthorpe.
Vicki C — Google review
What a surprise package of a museum. I thought the $10 entry fee was steep, but as we moved around each of the nine buildings we were blown away. Great value. The hall of Australian inventions was sensational in its own right.

A charming little cellar door in a pretty town just ouside of Orange. The relatively low altitude of most of their vineyards is well-suited to Italian varietals in particular. We ere expertly guided through a really varied tasting and found several wines that we like a lot. Definitely worth the short drive.
Simon V — Google review
Exceptional. As an European, I usually don’t like light red wines, as they are too watery and tasteless for me, but each of Anullong Wines was very good and really tasty. We ended up buying the red six pack. Tricia’s customer service and knowledge about the wines was excellent.
Simi A — Google review
Fantastic price for the wine tasting that has not been beat by any other places we visited. Staff was friendly and really helpful. Wine was awesome, our most favorite was Pinot Noir and Harriet. Sagrantino came with awesome biscuits, highly recommend to try the combo.

Great cellar door! Delicious wines! 😋 Lovely old building. Real wood fire 🔥😍♥️ we were last tasting for the day, Kate was very generous with her time, very down to earth and very hospitable. Only problem we had was we couldn't decide which wines and bubbles we liked the most so ended up buying a mixed dozen (which isn't recommended space wise when in a tight campervan)! 🤣 Loved the experience and highly recommend!! 👍

We visited Angullong yesterday and it’s become one of my favourite wineries in Orange region. All the wines we tasted were amazing and the hospitality was exceptional. We enjoyed learning about the family history as much as the wine. Highly recommend and would love to come back soon!

We recently visited Angullong wines as a group of 8. The two wonderful ladies were amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here, the wines were simply amazing and they were thorough with the tasting. We would recommend them 10 times over. If you are visiting the orange region, you must visit Angullong.

Spent a few days in Millthorpe and had a wonderful wine tasting experience at the Angullong cellar door. Kate was a brilliant host and the wines were excellent. Their newly released Marsanne was a standout for us.

We loved the wine tasting at Angullong. Shayne looked after us and she is so Knowledgeable and charming (she even remembered us from months before). Make sure you book online and have plenty of time for tasting. They are so generous here and there are about 20 wines to try. I especially loved their reserve Shiraz, late harvest Riesling and Pinot Grigio (and walked away with a number of the reserve and late harvest - I still have last year's Pinot Grigio). They have all price and palate points covered, I highly recommend going to angullong.

Best place we visited near Bathurst! A fantastic place with so much to look at. We had a good talk to the owner as well which made it even more interesting. He tells us that they will be opening the basement level with the kitchens very soon. I’d be delighted to go back.

A timeless gem in Bathurst! Abercrombie House is one of those places that completely transports you to another era. From the moment I stepped onto the grounds, I could feel the history and character of this magnificent 19th-century mansion. The Scottish Baronial-style architecture is stunning. Every gable, tower and stone detail tells a story. We were blown away by how beautifully the Morgan family has preserved the estate since the 1960s. The rooms are filled with antiques, period furniture, and little touches that make you imagine what life was like here over a century ago. The gardens and surrounding grounds are lovely, peaceful, green, and perfect for a slow stroll or photo moment. I can tell this place is looked after with real care and passion. Whether you’re into architecture, history, or just want a relaxing and memorable outing in Bathurst, Abercrombie House is an absolute must-visit.

The Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum, housed in a former school building dating back to 1876, is a renowned destination for enthusiasts of fossils, minerals, and dinosaur skeletons. It is home to the prestigious Somerville Collection featuring over 2000 mineral and fossil specimens including a complete T-Rex skeleton and fossilized dinosaur eggs. Visitors can explore the museum's fascinating displays showcasing rare and scientifically significant minerals from around the world.
This is a small, compact museum with very interesting information about what kind of minerals are found in Australia and what they are used for. It shows lots of different ones, and had a Lego theme for the little ones. It also has various puzzles, games and 3 play areas to keep the young ones engaged and entertained. There is a huge dinosaur skeleton and multiple videos about mining, and how various minerals are found. The shop is also great, with lots of different items to buy. I recommend the visit.

A wonderful little gem of a museum! Pun fully intended. We came with our kids on a weekday during school hours and it was pretty quiet. We had lots of space to explore the beautiful old rooms filled with spectacular mineral and fossil specimens. The displays are laid out with great visual appeal and well written educational information. We greatly appreciated the hands-on experiences for small children especially the microscope and dinosaur toys. Also the picnic table in the courtyard for a bit of morning tea before we entered. Staff were friendly and helpful, bathrooms clean and well maintained. Overall a lovely experience. I would recommend about 1.5-2 hours.

Such a great museum with permanent fossil / mineral displays and other cool temporary exhibitions. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and clearly love this place. Shout out to the descriptions of tumble rocks and crystals at the gift shop, factual and science-based instead of wishy washy energetic 'benefit'.

A fascinating variety of minerals despite the small size, they had an engaging perioidic table and how they excavate the minerals, perfect for primary school aged kids.
Wendy L — Google review
Loved this museum! Our grandsons loved the T-rex skeleton (they were huge!), the fossils and the insects and animals in amber. I loved the displays connecting the periodic table to modern living; they are an inspired way to show how these minerals are used today. The mineral displays were beautifully presented with good information.

Very modern and interactive museum specifically tailored for kids. Stunningly set in an old church. Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit

Car racing venue
Sights & Landmarks
Home of the Bathurst 1000 event, this road-race circuit has uphill stretches with panoramic views.
I came here because my husband is a big fan of cars and racing, and honestly, I’m so happy we checked it out. Mount Panorama Racing Circuit is amazing, the track is iconic and you can really feel the history and excitement just by being there. Walking around and seeing the circuit up close was something special. But the best part was definitely seeing my husband’s smiling face enjoying every moment. Whether you’re into motorsports or just curious, this place is definitely worth a visit. It’s an experience you won’t forget!
Zella B — Google review
A true icon and amazing destination for not only car racing fans. The views are beautiful, especially on a clear winter morning with the low cloud across parts of the town. Everyone you speak to on the mountain has a smile on their face. The walk is awesome and a great heart starter before jumping back in the car for a 3 hour drive. Thoroughly recommend the visit.

One of the all time greatest experiences of a life time. All fans of motorsport need to go to Mt Panorama, Bathurst at least once in your life. Awesome!

Finally made it to Mount Panorama, and wow, what an experience! Even when there’s no race on, just driving the circuit at normal speed gives you chills. The elevation changes, the sharp turns, the views over Bathurst… it’s unreal to imagine the pros flying through it at full speed. I stopped a few times to take in the scenery and honestly, every corner has history written all over it. The National Motor Racing Museum nearby is also worth the visit. So much passion and heritage packed into one place. Whether you’re into motorsport or just love a scenic drive with serious Aussie character, Mount Panorama is a must-visit. I left with a full heart, a phone full of photos, and a huge smile. Can’t wait to go back! 🏁🇦🇺

From the moment we met our guide Kristie at our meeting place in Lithgow to when we were dropped back 3 hours later we had the most interesting and adventurous experience! Kristie confidently drove us down the (very) steep alternate road built after the original Wolgan Rd was severely damaged by landslides. Once down into the valley we were delighted to see a great variety of birds whilst Kristie shared her extensive knowledge not only of the birds but the whole valley including its geological history. Morning tea was very special with locally baked cake, fruit and expresso coffee – all whilst standing in a paddock under the beautiful gums of the valley. I would highly recommend Wolgan Valley Eco Tours and look forward to our next adventure with Kristie!

The views were exceptional photos did not do them any justice. The Glow Worm tunnel was a highlight for us as we have been waiting some time to get there. The food provided was very nice and fresh. We thoroughly enjoyed your company Kristie and enjoyed the day out with you. Would highly recommend

Over the June long weekend Kristie took our family of three (two adults and a 9 year old) on 2 wonderful tours in Wolgan Valley. We did the bush walk to the Glow Worm tunnel through the beautiful Wollemi National Park on the first day and a bird watching tour on our second day. Kristie came prepared with torches for the tunnels and binoculars for bird watching. Kristie is knowledgable on all local wildlife, birds and plant species. Her knowledge of the local area and it’s history is second to none. Kristie took the time to explain the impact of recent weather and the 2019 bushfires have had on the wildlife and fauna of national park. It was very educational and fascinating. The glow worm tour took us about 7 hours because we were slow walkers taking everything in. This is definitely a walk that should be done with a guide. Some tracks were closed due to land slides and parts of the park are off limits. A guide will ensure you are walking in the safe areas of the park whilst having minimal impact on an environment that’s still recovering from the bushfires. The bird tour was lots of fun without too much walking. We spotted several local species and helped Kristie document them for records as part of citizen science. We had a great weekend and would definitely recommend Kristie and Wolgan Valley Eco Tours.

Our birding tour with Kristie was a wonderful experience. She showed us the birds, animals, vegetation and geology of the Wolgan Valley in the Blue Mountains with knowledge and enthusiasm. We will cherish our memory of this trip with you Kristie and remember the Wolgan Valley for the truly unique place it is.

My partner and I booked this tour, and from the start Kristie was amazing! We didn't get the best weather, but she was excellent at communicating the options and the plan for the day. Kristie was very knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate - not just about her tour and her work, but passionate about ensuring her guests have an excellent experience in the Lithgow outdoors. We had a lovely time, learned a lot, and were glad to have found this gem of a tour! The food provided, provided from Lavendar Hill Graze, was also fresh and exceptional! We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wishes to experience more of the Blue Mountains!

We certainly enjoyed the birding tour provided by Kristie (Wolgan Valley Eco Tours). Her passion and knowledge of the area, and the wildlife made the visit memorable. We highly recommend this tour.

The tour was amazing much more than we expected. Kristie gave an informative commentary with loads of local knowledge and experience. Some of the highlights were watching the sunrise over the Wolgan Valley, seeing a Regent Honeyeater and the yummy morning tea.

Kristie is a wonderful guide -- incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and personable. Our Glow Worm Tunnel Hike was an extraordinary experience thanks in most part to Kristie's professionalism and expertise. The morning tea provided was delicious and beautifully prepared. I can't recommend Wolgan Valley Eco Tours highly enough.

Mayfield Garden

Park
Nature & Parks
Flower-filled green space with a water garden, grotto & tree-lined valley, plus giant chess.
I’ve been here 2 times now! What I always love about this garden is how big it is and how pretty all of the colourful trees. Would recommend to come during normal weekdays. ‘cause last year when I came, it was super busy because of school holiday (you won’t be able to take picture freely). I would also recommend to come earlier in the morning so you can really enjoy the entire place (follow the map!). Bring your own food and picnic mat as well!
Fionnula R — Google review
Amazing well kept grounds. The autumn colours were gorgeous! The different sections made wandering around interesting. Although a bit pricey for entry to a garden, I can understand how expensive it would be to maintain such a place. I would love to see the garden again in springtime.

Absolutely stunning gardens with breathtaking views all year round. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with so much to explore – from the formal gardens and hidden pathways to the water features and the lake. It’s a peaceful and relaxing place, perfect for a day out with family or friends. A place where heaven meets.

It is a spectacular 65 hectare private garden that is open to the public. It is considered to be one of the the largest and most spectacular cool climate gardens in the Southern Hemisphere. It has sprawling gardens, maze, chapel, stumpery, aviary, garden rooms and every other feature across the garden. Popular place, need to go early to avoid the heat as well. Fair bit of walking around, some under shade. Uneven terrain, lot of walking on paved pathways mostly. Popular with tourists and locals. You can spend several hours here depending on your interests. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Toilets available. Restaurant available at main entry/exit point. Beautiful place. Lots to see. Parking is easy at off peak times. Great place for photography. You can book ready installed tents for overnight stays.

A very wonderful place to visit. We went there Autumn season. The weather was perfect and the plants are vibrant. I suggest coming early to secure parking. We were not able to do the maze simply because we have a pram and a 2 year old with us. Nonetheless, the experience was worthwhile.

There was a lovely woman and a kind man at the café—maybe the owners or staff—and both were super friendly and welcoming. I asked for my coffee to be really hot, and they nailed it! (Not everyone gets that right.) The atmosphere was so cozy and peaceful. We spent around two hours walking in the garden, and had a great time with the kids. Thank you so much for your genuine kindness and warm smiles. ☺️ I absolutely recommend this place!

Lovely cool climate garden. Will be spectacular a little later in the spring, and stunning during autumn. Cafe on site, staff friendly and helpful. We had a shared cheese/ meat platter for lunch, very filling. We visited during the week, and it was quite busy, would be extra busy on weekends and during holidays. Will be back to check it out during different seasons 💐🪻🍁🍂

High Country Trail Rides and Farm Stay

Horseback Riding Tours
We did a trail ride with High Country Horses. The horses were well cared for and a pleasure to ride. Our guide Tyler was super friendly and gave us an awesome (accidental) show when he went for a swim with his horse! The views exceeded our expectations - rivers, lupins, wildlife and more. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back!
Alanah B — Google review
Location: nice quiet location about 10-15 minutes drive from Oberon (watch out for kangaroos/wombats/rabbits if driving at dusk/dawn/evening). Oberon has supermarkets, a few restaurants/bistros etc. so is convenient if you need to buy any essentials, etc. Service: excellent - Pauline is a wonderful host who loves her animals and maintains a very well kept farm. Given it was winter she had the fire going before we even arrived. Make sure the family listens to her instructions (for safety, etc.). Pauline has taken a number of animals in which she has brought up since birth and she has a great connection with them and a real care for animal welfare. Rooms: very well kept by Pauline and her family. We had a 2 bedder and there was spare firewood ready to go and warm blankets and spare pillows etc. Kitchen has everything you need for cooking - tea, coffee, sugar and even a packet of Oreos were there as well as a large 10L water container (water is rain water so will need to otherwise boil). Note, no wifi but phone reception on every reception is perfectly fine (although it is a perfect spot to just disconnect). Room also had a large TV. Must Do’s: - horse riding: excellent for kids, etc. horses are very well kept and we saw a large mob of kangaroos up close. Kids really loved the horse ride and will be back to do the longer one. Listen to Pauline on how to guide the horses and you will be fine. - buggy ride: led by Pauline this was brilliant and kids loved this. Get to see the entire farm up close. - farm tour: this was awesome and felt like a safari with animals sticking their heads in for food. Took a wonderful video of the horses running elegantly beside/behind us (unfortunately cannot upload into review). - stargazing - so dark and clear in the night sky (make sure you get a stargazing app) - warming up in front of the fire Animals: large number of very elegant and beautiful horses, cows, sheep, goats (including Jake the goat who thought it was a sheep), emus, camels, pony (which likes being around the emus), Gingie the cat, alpacas, and the dogs Red and Bear (white dog which is very photogenic and roams around the farm) - they are very timid and lovely dogs welcoming all guests (Bear does like a tummy rub) and a large charming pig (just needs to be left alone given previous poor treatment from some guests). Pauline also has stories about each of the animals. What you need/recommendations to bring: - a love of animals - willingness to listen to Pauline’s instructions around farm/animals - food to cook (can also eat at Oberon which is not far away). - Toiletries (body wash, shampoo, etc.) - Go Pro (unfortunately forgot this but make sure you have particularly for the horse ride). - Phone lanyard (for photos). - SLR camera (phone camera probably does not give the beauty of the farm justice). - warm clothes (if in winter/chilly mornings). - if you have an EV car make sure you have a charging cable for chargers at Oberon (otherwise Bathurst is closest for chargers with cables). Overall it was a wonderful experience and a nice place to just get away from the city.

We stayed two nights over the long weekend in the two bedroom cabin. It was a beautiful experience for our family of five. The cabin was comfortable and simple. My daughter and I did two horse trail rides and loved it. We all did the buggy ride which was great fun, especially for my 12 year old sons. Pauline is very friendly, informative, hard working and safety conscious.

We booked a farm safari last minute for our group of 6 and we absolutely loved it! Michael and Kris were so sweet and helpful in answering all our animals questions and overcoming some of our camel fears (turned out Dixie and Delilah were the most gentle). The rescue animals are so well looked after by Pauline and team. We highly recommend the experience 10/10 ✨

My family and I just love visiting the farm. I absolutely recommend this beautiful property to everyone. I can’t keep my daughter away from there actually. This place has really changed my Daughters life in so many ways. The love she has for the horses is really something beautiful to see. The owner Pauline is a remarkable woman and she makes us feel so welcome. My Daughter definitely has a new role model in Pauline. We will always be back.

Had a really lovely experience doing a trail ride today. You can tell that the horses are well loved and cared for which makes the experience so much more special. Pauline was so kind, welcoming and shared her vast expanse of knowledge with us. We got to see camels, emus, goats, sheep, a pig, plus more. Absolutely magical and definitely coming back for a longer stay! Thank you Pauline!

Wonderful place to visit with lots of different animals. We are happy to stay there for 2 nights and enjoyed it a lot. Very happy to meet owner Pauline and had her taking us to horse riding and farm tour. She is very kind that she rescued different animals and help them grow in the farm. Highly recommend. It is not only for kids, we and my parents also enjoyed it a lot. (Fireplace at night and gorgeous star night is a plus :D )

My son & myself love this place so much. The cottage is nice and clean. It has everything you need during the stay. The activities we joined were great too, especially the horse riding. I never like to ride on a horse last time but now my view totally changed, instruction told was clear & the host will make sure everything is fine & safe before we set off. I feel good & really enjoy it this time. The farm is well maintenance and the farm pets are all loveable. And of course, the host - Pauline. She is friendly & responsive. She never failed to reply my queries every time👍🏻👍🏻. The only downside was we are unable to stay longer ☹️ Thanks, Pauline for making our short stay so memorable 😘

The staff was incredibly helpful, proactive, and courteous! As we were passing through Oberon, we wanted to see the famous snowfall the area is known for. One staff member kindly provided us with a city map and marked the route to Black Springs. She also patiently answered all our questions. Thank you so much! Btw, if you are wondering who we are, we bought the spider key chain and the hand cream from you guys😀

We went there at 1pm today (4th May, 2025) and it is closed. On their door it says "open 7 days" as well as on Google. I've heard other people sharing the same experience before. Please update your opening time correctly and don't waste anyone else's time.

We had a great experience at the Oberon Information Centre. The lady there was extremely helpful and proactive—she asked how she could assist, then clearly showed us on the map what to see, how far each spot was, and how long it would take. We left well-informed and able to make the most of our time in Oberon. Highly recommend stopping by!

We always visit the local tourism office in a new town for handy information and tips. Oberon tourism namely Deborah was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and offered unbiased opinions on local attractions and camp site recommendations. The Japanese Bath House offers a serene and rejuvenating experience with its indoor and outdoor hot baths, cold plunge tube, and steam room. Visitors can even book a private bath for added relaxation. The atmosphere is tranquil, perfect for those seeking a peaceful retreat. The staff provides top-tier service and maintains the facility's cleanliness diligently. Guests can also enjoy manicured gardens and stunning views of Lake Lyell while indulging in various baths.
Sooooo relaxing and rejuvenating! We were nervous to visit on a rainy day but ended up feeling like that was the ideal weather - the warmth of the baths complemented perfectly. The massage was also amazing - the use of massage oils made it feel even more soothing and relaxing, and the masseuses were highly skilled. Some baths also had a view of the mountains and lake which was very calming and peaceful. We felt that the ambience of this place was much better than even some onsens in Japan (though you do pay for it). The food offered in the lovely tea room was fantastic too - a little pricey at about $20 per entree and $40 per main, but we really enjoyed the Onsen egg soup and yuzu green tea panna cotta. It tasted like the ingredients were quite high quality and considered. There is a wide selection of teas for $10 per single person teapot for a variety of different health benefits. I remember wishing there were more details on the website about the food (which is a shame since we ended up loving it!), so if this helps anyone, the entrees included edamame, teriyaki chicken wings, takoyaki, takikomi gohan (vegetable rice), seaweed salad, vegetable soup and Onsen egg soup. The mains included wagyu, unagi, and karaage chicken rice boxes, different types of udons and a stir fry pork. The desserts included matcha ice cream, mango mochi and the delicious yuzu green tea panna cotta (which also came with red bean). The atmosphere of the tea room was great with calming studio ghibli covers playing - there was also a Totoro themed bath area. Overall, it’s hard not to leave this place feeling completely destressed and rejuvenated, so we’d highly recommend. It isn’t a small price tag but especially for special occasions on a chilly day, we believe it’s worth it.

I recently visited the Japanese Bathhouse in the Blue Mountains and it was such an incredible experience. The entire space feels peaceful and serene, surrounded by beautiful views. The staff were warm, attentive, and made the whole experience seamless. There are plenty of options to unwind—private onsens, public baths, and even relaxation pods. They also offer massages and facials, which take it to the next level. Perfect for a solo escape or a relaxing day with someone special. Highly recommend!

A beauty gem in the middle or blue mountains. Good reflection of Japanese hospitality and welcome. This place is so popular that you might need to book months in advance. I had reservation for accommodation, SPA massage and bathhouse. All were great. Very refreshing, and stunning view. The only drawback during my stay was we were guided to the room and one of the floor chair was broken when we got in reported to reception and they said they will have it checked and replace. Went back after 3-4 hours the chair was still broken. Lack of communication was a bit disappointing. Other than that everything was great….

very good experience for my friends and i. would recommend booking a room nearby as it is quite the long drive and not really worth if you don't stay. pricing was very high for food but portions and taste was delicious. is always decently busy.

On-site parking Ensure to bring own water bottle swimmers and towel. A little bit expensive for general admission, however worth the experience Food is a little bit expensive also. On-site parking. Would recommend for a relaxing getaway experience. Bookings are completely essential to secure time slots,

Honestly don't really get the whole hype about this place. Probably because there aren't that many Japanese themed bath houses / spas around Sydney. No doubt the location has a beautiful view of the lake but that was mostly it. Its just a place for you to sit in mostly artificially painted hot tubs, even some of the paint was noticeably peeling off. The chlorine smell in every bath wasn't very pleasant for relaxation but otherwise the temperature was good. The atmosphere felt very fake and plastic, more like a theme park with the painted concrete, plastic walls, plastic bushes, plastic bamboo, painted tubs, etc rather than a natural oasis. The tea room looked lovely but the prices of tea and meals were too exorbitant to even consider, and you are not allowed to consume anything of your own apart from water. If they even let you, changing dates cost 30$ even if you book many months in advance. Overall for the price you pay the experience is interesting but I wouldn't say it was worth it.
Z K — Google review
You cannot turn up here without previously having booked online. There are no walk ins and no phone contact with the facility, everything is done online Plenty of parking with wheelchair accessible parking and entry. We were greeted by extremely friendly staff, who confirmed our booking, and then asked us to remove our shoes and socks and roll our pants up by 20 cm as we were about to walk through the warmest water, only ankle deep, to our next entry process. Here they give you a pair of thongs to walk around in and don't worry, you keep these thongs, they are brand new. You wear your locker key around your wrist and they are waterproof. So many different baths to discover. We especially loved the sauna. Lots of water refill stations and toilets spread throughout and a Japanese Cafe located within the facility. We came in spring, so still a chill in the air, which means you really appreciate the warmth of the baths. Had so much fun, will definitely be back next winter, even though they are open all year round , I think the heated pools and baths would be better appreciated in the colder months. Private rooms and baths available with massage services. You can pre book all this online. Just a little tip for anyone who feels the need to moisturise their skin after being in water. Bring some moisturiser with you for when your finished Amazing staff, highly recommend Will be back

Second time at the Japanese Bath House & had such a lovely experience. Had the 1 hr Private Buro experience & then spent three hours enjoying the different baths at the bath house. One of the highlights was the herbal steam room. The staff was extremely polite & accomodating & the traditional Japanese food enjoyed afterwards was delicious. Spent all afternoon here. Would highly recommend!

Lithgow Small Arms Factory Museum

Specialty Museums
The Lithgow Small Arms Factory Museum, situated in the Methven Street, is a must-visit for history enthusiasts and anyone intrigued by military history. Established in 1912 as part of Australia's effort to become self-sufficient in defense production, this museum is housed within the former precision engineering factory. It played a crucial role during both World Wars, manufacturing rifles and machine guns. The site now hosts an extensive collection of civilian and military firearms, making it one of the largest in Australia.
Went to the small arms factory in February 2024. I was so impressed with the collections and exhibition of these delicate machines and fire weapons. Just noticed the recent break-in, it's obviously outrageous. Hopefully, these valuable guns will be recovered soon, and I really want to visit the museum again.
Licheng S — Google review
Amazing museum showing a nationally significant collection of firearms - but also the local history of metal fabrication n the same factory including intricate and amazing metal objects such as sewing machines, handcuffs etc. The volunteers running this place were super friendly and were very well informed. This museum should have more significant financial support from the federal and state government and Thales. If they only got 0.1% of Canberra's War Memorial budget they would be very safe and secure into the future. Support this museum in anyway you can!

About 10-15mins walk from the train station. Very nice people that'll greet you up front. Artefacts are organised. They have very interesting items on the gift shop, useful for camping. I enjoyed the stroll around since I was addicted to action games such as PUBG MOBILE and CALL OF DUTY MOBILE that involves guns. Very intriguing to see them guns up close, especially the small pistols☺️. There were some war propagandas that reminded me of essays back in high school, made me sit there and analyse a little bit😆. Seeing them old switchboards and communication equipment blows my mind, seeing them up close just made me curious with how much it changed after a century. I'm an apprentice sparky so I showed them to the people I worked with and they're intrigued aswell. Would love to come back and have my family to tour.

If conditions are not good for climbing in the mountains come down to Lithgow and support this museum by paying a visit. Kerry and Keith are fantastic tour guides and have considerable knowledge of the museum and its displays. You don’t need to have a particular interest in firearms. If you have any interest in Australian manufacturing, machinery or history you will enjoy this museum. Thales and Lithgow council need to support the important work these individuals are doing and prevent the loss of an important part of Australian history.
Janet B — Google review
EVERYONE needs to come here. It is excellent and I believe will get better. The details around the history of the site and the manufacturing that occurred here is great. The volunteers there really care about the information and what they are doing. It is done really well and is very interesting. The gun collection has is amazing in Itself but the history of manufacturing that occurred here is amazing. This was at one time the largest small arms manufacturing factory in the southern hemisphere. They have set up as many old pieces of machinery that they can and intend to get some of them working - this is an amazing piece of history and should be HERITAGE listed. A great visit for anyone - get out there - take your children, take your mother - take your wife.

Mount Vic Flicks is a charming cinema housed in a revamped 1930s public hall, offering a unique movie-watching experience. The cozy heritage building and freshly baked treats served in china cups add to the nostalgia of the place. Run by Kirsten & Adam, this family-owned business provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere for movie enthusiasts. In addition to mainstream and arthouse flicks, they also offer homemade vegetarian soup during the cooler months.
Such a charming little cinema that has been beautifully restored. So glad we were able to visit. Very reasonably priced with a variety of drinks, homemade choc tops, soup and bread.

What a unique experience. Mount Vic Flicks offers a vintage style film experience. The ticket office is small and old worldly, the cinema is unchanged since its origins and that makes the feel cosy and welcoming. The kiosk in the cinema is a kwirky combination of old and new offering patrons mugs of tea, coffee and soup accompanied by a fresh crusty bun. This is a highly recommended experience. You will not be disappointed.

Fabulous old fashioned atmosphere, great modern sound system and films, delicious homemade soup (in winter), snacks and choctops from the gorgeous little snack window., booster cushions and wonderful staff. Perfect!
John C — Google review
During our one week stay in Mt Vic, we had such a wonderful time visiting this cinema. We visited twice and we were able to pre-book our seats which was awesome. For what is a small cinema, the screen is huge and has excellent sound. We especially loved the homemade choc tops. Definitely worth a visit at least once if you're in the mountains - if we were locals, we'd join their loyalty programme which gives discounts on tickets ($11 vs. $13) and discounts at the snack bar. This is a family owned and operated business, isn't expensive and is the first time we've been to a movie in a cinema in maybe 5 years. We will definitely visit again if we are in the mountains for a few days.

Mount Vic Flicks is a must have experience. Step back in time to the 1930’s in this nostalgic cinema, but with the comforts of heating and cooling. This independent family run business show local and international movies. There’s a terrific old-fashioned snack bar with the usual chock tops and warm popcorn, but the hot homemade vegetarian soup is the best and a must have during those cooler winter months. There’s wheelchair access, toilets, and parking. We’re so lucky to have the privileged to experience this historic Blue Mountains icon and need the public to continue supporting this cinema for future generations to enjoy.
