We found this little tavern by chance while exploring the area, while based in Eldorado. The village is small but neat as is the tavern. The staff were very welcoming and the food and drinks really good, and well priced.

Boorhaman Hotel is a perfect stop on the way to Yarrawonga or Wangaratta. It has a homey vibe, outdoor seating (and basketball court). The Owners are welcoming and the food is reasonably priced. Highly recommend checking this gem 👌
Michael S — Google review
A warm welcome and a lovely meal. We visited for lunch on a cold Sunday. It was a quiet day but we were welcomed by friendly staff and a warmed by a crackling fire. The menu offered something for all tastes plus a specials board. We both had a chicken parmigiana with salad and chips. Chicken parmigiana was excellent, the salad fresh and well dressed but the home made chips were a knockout! The hotel has retained the feeling of being the local hotel and this was evident from discussions with patrons. The hotel is unpretentious with good food and friendly vibes. We will be back in the near future.
Andrea H — Google review
Stumbled across this unique country pub where the food was equally as good if not better than any top end city restaurant. The locals added to the casual yet friendly atmosphere. Pet and kid friendly
Cheryl W — Google review
Amazing little pub in Peechelba with icy cold beer on tap and great food We had Rib Eye which was perfect. Friendly staff and great service. Very impressed and happy to have discovered this little gem.!
Dean W — Google review
Your typical small country pub, great local folk, great food, well priced, and a real homely atmosphere, i will be back!!!
Mark W — Google review
We ate some delicious hearty meals here for lunch today, a slow cooked lamb shoulder and pork loin steaks. Tender meat, creamy mash, and tasty sauces on both. The pale ale was my favourite pick from the Buffalo Brewery beers on tap. Looking forward to going back again soon. Highly recommend this place, the best pub food I’ve eaten in a long time.

Cold beer, great food, nice people, a no brainer if you’re in the area! Spiced lamb and scotch fillet both yum 👍

Been drinking wines from here since 2014, cannot beat it. Great wine for great value. Barry did a good job today for another wine tasting. Thanks team, keep it up!
E. — Google review
The best winery around Rutherglen. Flavours are bold. Wines have body. Their Durif is a step above everyone else’s.
Louis N — Google review
What a gem! We were recommended this winery for their durif so were really looking forward to tasting last weekend. We opened the door to a hum of busy-ness. Staff greeted us immediately even while handing bubble wands to visiting children. We had a really enjoyable tasting, loving the warmth the staff showed to everyone. We loved the 2019 Durif, and went home with a box, and will join as members too. Thoroughly recommend
Ingrid H — Google review
I first visited Warrabilla winery about 20 years ago with the Austin Healey club of Victoria when we stayed in Rutherglen. Their Durif is the best Durif I have ever tasted. We filled up our Healeys with their wonderful wines. Sadly my husband died 14 years ago and I stopped being a member of their wine club. I joined again over a year ago . I run a small wine club and recently I took a bottle of Smithy’s blend and it won the wine of the night and today with the delivery of my annual wines I received 2 dozen Smithy’s blend as well that I ordered for wine club members. I highly recommend visiting Warrabilla when you are in the area. Cheers Jill
Jillian F — Google review
Amazing, my favourite wine in this area, very rich, and super tastefull! Friendly service, everything on tasting, absolut Gem !
Lorenz K — Google review
Wine club member here - aside from this being the best winery in Victoria, their customer service is amazing! Had some courier issues with an order, spoke to Amy and she resolved things immediately. She turned a frustrating issue into an outstanding outcome. Love your work.
Heath E — Google review
Went to Warrabilla Wines with a large group of people yesterday. We had a wonderful time. Excellent service and presentation of wines. 10/10
Julie K — Google review
Best big red wine maker in the world. Arrived late but looked after very well by the friendly helpful staff. Couldn't ask for more. If you like your wines big, with tastings across multiple vintages, this is the must goto winery of Rutherglen for old style wines with huge dollops of fruit and tannins. Wines that will keep improving for years and years!

Ned Kelly's Capture Site

Mentioned on
1 list
Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Ned Kelly's Capture Site in Glenrowan is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. The small town is filled with references to Ned Kelly, offering plenty of photo opportunities with his memorabilia and statues. The site features well-done information boards that guide visitors through the sequence of events leading to Kelly's capture. It's an eerie yet fascinating street that provides insight into the final stand of the infamous bushranger.
I really enjoyed looking at this site on a beautiful day in Glenrowan. Of course, the newly built road over the railway ruins the overall scene but you can’t stop progress I suppose. I really liked the sign boards giving plenty of information and images. I hope that when the bridge is finished some funds are found to improve this attraction to a piece of Australian history.
Paul S — Google review
Great story boards depicting the siege at Glenrowan and the capture of Ned Kelly. Follow the boards around and read about this historic moment in Australia's history. We enjoyed the walk around and increasing our knowledge of Ned and the Kelly gang.
Jo S — Google review
Was nice and quiet on the weekend, although it was a wetter day. Loved reading the signs and visiting the landmarks, although it was confusing at times where the starting point for the signs were. However, it was a really nice walk and a cool piece of history.
Leah D — Google review
"Robert Edwards" of Swan Hill said he used to have Carriage Rides at Glenrowan back in 2011, to take people around to see the History (Photo taken in 2011). Will that ever return? Apart from that, the "Ned Kelly Museum & Homestead" (Photo taken in March 2024!) is the best place to go to, to find out all about the Local History. A small town, with a lot of History!
Katie C — Google review
The Ned Kelly Capture Site offers a poignant glimpse into Australian history. Surrounded by tranquil landscapes, this site commemorates the end of an era. History buffs and nature lovers alike will appreciate its significance and serene beauty. A must-visit for anyone exploring the region's rich heritage.
Naroju N — Google review
The historical site where the infamous busranger Ned Kelly was brought down and captured. To capture him, the police shot at his legs and groin as they were not hidden by his heavy armour. The sign posts are well done. We enjoyed our walk and whole Glenrowan experience. Worth the visit. Make sure you visit the Kelly Museum. It's expensive but enjoyable including a well done replica of the little Kelly house.
Aussirose T — Google review
Really enjoyable trail explaining the history of Ned Kelly. All the exhibits are well signposted and most are within walking distance. An absolute must when visiting Glenrowan, but bring plenty of water as there is limited shade on the walk and it can get very hot!
Kerbray — Google review
Learnt a lot. I do wish the signs were in the clearer order. It was very confusing to go to sign 4 (where he was captured) only to realise that sign 5 happens before his capture. Still informative. Apparently the Kelly gang were fighting for the independence for north east Victoria (they wanted the country to be called the Republic of North east Victoria - not particularly catchy) Ned called off the other rebels and turned himself over after his brother and fellow gang member were killed. He took most of the blame for their crimes.

The Ned Kelly Museum & Homestead in Glenrowan is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. The museum offers an immersive experience into the life of the infamous outlaw, showcasing interpretative panels, original pictures, attire, and belongings of the Kelly family. Visitors can explore a replica home on the property and engage with knowledgeable owners who are passionate about sharing their insights.
The history contained in the museum is beyond amazing. We met Howard (90 year old cockatoo) and his friend Dorothy (the younger woman) which was a bit of fun too. Highly recommend for all ages

"The Big Ned Kelly" is a six-meter high statue located in Glenrowan, commemorating the infamous bushranger and his gang. The town offers various attractions related to the history of Ned Kelly, including shops and pubs with his name. Visitors can explore historical sites such as the old pub where the gang held up and the place of Ned's capture. Additionally, there are museums showcasing dresses from World War I and artifacts related to Kelly's history.
Great to come and visit Ned Kelly country. Glenrowan is a nice little town located just off the Hume Highway. I recommend visiting here even if it's a toilet break. The small town celebrates the history of Ned. Various shops for food and merchandise exist along with a Ned Kelly museum.

Visiting the Big Ned Kelly is a great tourist spot to check out. The towering statue is impressive and makes for a fun stop on your travels. Next door, the museum offers a variety of souvenirs and an informative tour, providing a deeper look into the history of the infamous Ned Kelly. It’s fantastic to visit a place that pays tribute to such a key figure in Australian history, and the whole experience offers a nice blend of learning and sightseeing. If you’re into history or just want to see something iconic, it’s definitely worth a visit.
Mandy S — Google review
This is a towering, six-metre-high statue of the infamous Australian bushranger, Ned Kelly, depicted in his distinctive, homemade metal armour and helmet, while holding a rifle. It's one of Australia's many well-known "Big Things" and stands as a major tourist attraction in Glenrowan, the site of the Kelly Gang's dramatic final siege and capture in 1880. Ned Kelly remains a controversial figure—seen by some as a ruthless killer and by others as a folk hero or a rebel against the authorities. The statue is a powerful, if slightly menacing, representation of his legend. Anything else I can tell you about Ned Kelly or Australian "Big Things"?
Koonthos K — Google review
You certainly know where you are when you see The Big Ned Kelly in Glenrowan. Everything is well marked with interesting facts about what took place at the time. Parrots 🦜 in the fence were impressive that they could have a short conversation with you ~ It’s great that the local community keeps the town thriving.
Mei M — Google review
Very nice center, where you can read and learn about the story of Ned Kelly and his gang's last days. Cheap ticket too, worth a visit, also to admire the architecture of the building.
Federica T — Google review
Artistic and historical small town on our way from Melbourne to Milawa, it's a pity that I only allowed a 5-min photo break here. Will come back again to explore further.
Louise W — Google review
The statue of Ned Kelly is such a great memorial to an icon of Australian history. Glenrowan is not far off the Hume Highway and is such a great small country town. If anyone is in the area, it will be great to stop in and explore the town with all its history. Thank you to all the staff and locals in the area, as they made it all feel like a beautiful, close country community.

Rich Glen Provedore & Orangerie is a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts. The shop offers a wide range of locally sourced products including extra virgin olive oil, salad dressings, beauty products, and drink mixers. Visitors can also earn valuable points with every purchase. The store is known for its high-quality products, beautiful packaging, and special touches that make the experience meaningful. Customers highly recommend their exceptional olive oils and other items available both in-store and online.
Could we have asked for a more incredible experience with the Rich Glen team? Absolutely not! From start to finish, everything was flawless. Supporting a local supplier that delivers the highest quality is such a privilege, and we are absolutely thrilled with our hamper. The hamper itself was packed to the brim with goodness—so much so that some joked about its weight. First-world problems, right? The custom packaging and labels were beautifully designed, with every detail thoughtfully considered. And the presentation? Simply stunning. Not to mention, everything tastes soooo delicious. A huge thank you to the entire Rich Glen team for this amazing experience and the perfectly curated gift. We couldn’t be happier!

Our specific trip to Yarrawonga made this an essential stop. We visited the Echuca store and loved it so much. This didn’t disappoint either. Yummy meals really were a treat for us to take home and cook and of course we bought the wonderful olive oil staff very helpful. and friendly I like the layout of Echuca store better where the skincare section is altogether under the one roof with the store.

Can't rate the quality and service from this family run business highly enough. We purchase regularly and have loved watching the success and growth of Rich Glen. So many beautiful items on offer, olive oils, condiments, produce, beauty products and so much more. Do yourself a favour and check out one of their stores, you will love it, or you can purchase online. Donna and the team organised our corporate gifts for Christmas and everyone loved them. We received so many comments on the presentation, quality and the extra touches. We love having access to so many beautiful, Australian made products and the level of care and service. Thank you and congratulations to Ros and her dedicated staff.

Purchased a bottle of “Hot Cross Bun Gin Liqueur” when I visited the store at Yarrawonga on 9/3/2024 for $49. I assumed that I was getting a good deal. This week’s Aldi catalog displays the same product for $24.99. What a bargain??? Maybe I will purchase two bottles for that price.

Goorambat Silo Art

Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
These paintings are truly magnificent, and the local community is obviously very proud of them too. There are sign boards describing the artists, the horses, and the owl, and even a picnic table under a shelter, in which are a range of books donated by the community, free for the taking (donation welcome).
Graham C — Google review
Second trip here, and somehow we missed the hawk on the shed facing east. The three horse team is a knockout, it just comes to life like they're bringing their haul to the silo's. There's also art on the public toilet and the wall of the pub.
Linden J — Google review
Great work of art. It is a little off the main road to see it but it is worth a look. There is some information about. Some parking nearby.
Christine B — Google review
The last of our silo art stops on the way home from Wodonga to Blackwood. Artist Jimmy DVate beautifully showcases a gorgeous barking (‘winking’) owl and the huge draft horses. Truely amazing how these artists can paint on such a numinous scale and for the end result is incredible. The masterpieces are beautiful to see but it’s just a shame the fence in place stops you from really enjoying the complete artworks front on. (You can only properly see two of the three draft horses).
Aly M — Google review
The first one we visited on our way to Cobram. It made us visit all the silos.

Some beautiful art that depicts a few species of birds common to the area. The mem and women that do these are extremely talented and deserve all the praise 👏 they can get. Silo Artist - Jimmy D'Vate

The painting of the horse was magnificent and truly beautiful.

It is a beautiful and quiet little town. Goorambat silo art was beautiful. It showed the history of Goorambat. The artist did a fantastic painting. I am in awe of the creativity and skills of the artist. Firstly, to paint something of this size. Secondly, to work off boom lifts at height. Wow, wow 👌. There are information boards on both sides of the silos,as there are paintings on the front and back of the group of silos. Once you have seen and appreciated the beautiful artwork and taken lots of photos. Make your way across the road to the Railway Hotel to enjoy a bite to eat and drink. Highly recommend this place for a visit.

Byramine Homestead & Brewery

Brewery
Sights & Landmarks
Byramine Homestead & Brewery is steeped in history, dating back to 1842 when it was built by Hamilton Hume as a refuge for his sister-in-law Elizabeth Hume and her children after a tragic event. This unique homestead features distinctive octagonal rooms designed for defense and showcases period decorations that transport visitors back in time. Surrounding the homestead is an expansive vegetable garden, adding to its charm.
We stopped in here to check out the beer and stayed for a delicious lunch. They say their meals are from local seasonal produce, it certainly was fresh and tasty. We had vegetable quiche and fish and ships from the specials board. Neither disappointed, this was washed down with an excellent Byramine pale ale. They have a full range of Byramine beers and ciders which you can sample with a flyte. This was a great little find, all felt very original, and was very relaxing to sit out in the garden area under the trees with a cold beer. 👍👍👍👍👍

I really enjoyed looking around the old homestead. It's so important that we retain these little gems of history. And.... it's supposed to be haunted although I didn't see any signs of ghosts 👻
Sarah S — Google review
What a beautiful afternoon we spent under a shady tree, enjoying a ploughman's lunch, a beer or two and a local white wine. The owners are so friendly and their family is connected to the Kelly's...owners of the land and homestead. The carefully laid out tables/chairs, around the property, offer spots to enjoy, whether for a couple, family, small group gathering. One could easily have an event held there, and if inclement weather, there is an event space inside the cafe/bar at the back. Toilets are basic and separate to the Cafe but easily accessible. Not so sure about disabled toilets. Plenty of parking on dirt at the front of the homestead. There is a separate kitchen which would be the original and worth a peak to get a glimpse of what it would be like back in the day. Near the toilets and very old tree, there is access to the cellar area - a good hiding spot when under attack from bushranger etc. Such a great asset for everyone visiting Yarrawonga and surrounds. A big thumbs up from us. 👍

A great piece of history and well worth the visit if you’re interested in the Hume & Hovell story. The building is classified “A” to be preserved at all cost ….hmmmm….that message seems to have been lost. The place definitely needs some TLC. The brewery was a relaxing break in the garden . Well worth the visit & tour. A shot sample of beer is included in the ticket entry.
Dog M — Google review
Sorry this is not an review of the beautiful old homestead itself. We never got to that. After our brunch in the brewery we were completely incapable of bipedal locomotion. The other half loves a brew, and I will admit to being keen to try their Autumn deal which was a large ploughman’s platter and two beers/wines. However his lordship wanted to have the pie. So rather than miss out on my ploughman’s platter altogether I chose to have the small platter. Just me. On my own. Solo. It really could have fed two. The ladies all insisted they’d give me a takeaway container, but I gave it a good shake! The variety of goodies on the plate was stunning, with some amazing local produce. And us townies forget the joy of an egg produced by a happy chook! The three ladies on deck were spectacular. Without exception happy, smiling and amenable without being in your face. They were also very knowledgeable about the region. It was a lovely peaceful place to dine, and I recommend it unreservedly. Oh, and the other half said the pie was impressive also!

Nice place with tranquil surroundings. Good selection of beers and ciders. Ploughman's player was generous but it seemed like everything on it except the chutney could be bought from the supermarket.
Troy K — Google review
While we did not take the tour of the Homestead we enjoyed beer tasting and a bite to eat. We selected 6 ciders and beers to taste served in 200ml glasses and a Ploughmans platter to share. The tasting room is spacious yet cozy with a wood fire burning. We enjoyed a leisurely visit there and I'd love to go back

Lovely historic place with very nice food and some interesting homebrews! 😱 Great to wander around the homestead grounds without having to pay for the tour. Seeing 170 year old elm trees was pretty amazing also. Well worth the visit😄👍 Check out my photos! ✅

The soft background music, great red wine, and stunning views create an unforgettable atmosphere that's good for the soul.
Beautiful venue with service to match. The wine tasting let’s you sample all of the in stock wines before settling into a cosy table with a grand view over the scenic landscape. The food is homely and delicious with something for everyone. Can’t wait to visit again!

It's lovely sitting on the verandah with a glass of wine and nibbles and looking out over the valley. They have set up chairs and umbrellas on the lawn for couples all also looking out at the view. There are tasting platters of wine where you can taste 3 different types for $10, which is a good idea if you can't decide. You can do the normal wine tasting for free. Numerous dips and the breads are home made and quite good. Friendly attentive staff.

A relaxing place to eat, drink and lay back. Thanks to the friendly staff here, I fell in love with the sweet dessert wine - Dookie Hills Botrytis Riesling 2012. Its combination with the raspberry cake is a heavenly taste.
Mslunalai — Google review
Nice try. Lovely venue but food very ordinary and overpriced. Lasagna and Fettucini for $45? Seriously? Anyone can cook that. Their knowledge of the wines was hopelessly inadequate. Despite charging $20 for a tasting flight but not providing any information. Had to ask to read the back label! Won’t be recommending or going back.
Michael R — Google review
Amazing setting in the Dookie hills. Our groups shared a number of plates and drinks. All were good other than the shared plate. $48 for a handful of nuts, bland dip, average cheese and some cheap crackers was ridiculous. Shouldn't have been more than $28 for what was on it. Highly recommend going as staff, the setting and majority of the food are great but I'd be avoiding the shared plate at all costs...

Had a great day on the river on the Cobba Paddle boat. I grew up in the area and yet saw for the first time - fish spawning a turtle as well as many Koalas on Quinn Island. Great 1.5 hours. Drinks and food were better than we expected.

We booked Cobba for a private function for my mother's 80th birthday. We couldn't not have been happier with the service, everyone was really accommodating and friendly, the trip was relaxing and just what we had hoped for. Also a big thumbs up to Nadia from Long House catering lovey sandwiches and rolls , very tasty and plenty to go around, Nadia was lovely, she also plated up the birthday cake that we had bought on board.

What a lovely captain 'Vanessa' and crew. Lovely cold beers well appreciated. Beautiful section of the Mighty Murray, with no wake boats, and no blue green algae. A Great family outing, highly recommended.

We had a lovely trip on the paddle boat this afternoon. The skipper Jay was very helpful giving us lots of information about the boat, river history and general knowledge. We drank some red wine on the upper deck as the afternoon wore on. This was served by Bianca who also pointed out several koalas in the treetops. The paddleboat is very comfortable and a perfect way to get a memorable river Murray experience. Highly recommended.

Located in Yarroweyah, Victoria 3644, Australia, The Big Strawberry has been a favorite spot for many visitors for over a decade. Despite some negative reviews, the majority of patrons have had consistently positive experiences. The food is always freshly prepared and delicious, and the staff are known for their friendly and helpful service. While there may be occasional mistakes, they are promptly rectified with a smile. It's recommended to bring cash as there is a surcharge on card payments.
Absolutely beautiful food, staff jams, a booze yum. Has everything there. If passing, stop! Well worth going in. So much to see and buy in there. Scone and jam and cream omg! Coffee was nice and strong! Thank you

Well worth a stop. Yes it is touristy, but it's also grey nomads like us that come for a pic of the Big Thing and then spend a bit of money that goes back into the local economy. After reading the reviews, we steered clear of the waffles and pancakes and ordered scones instead. Very nice, along with strawberry jam and fresh whipped cream. I would recommend a stop here.
Aussirose T — Google review
We got here at 11am luck as we missed the massivce crowd . And got our food before a huge influx of people. Free wifi is good but we sat next too the kids play area, it's a good idea , it's $750 pp under 3 is free but they have a seperate area beside the play ground that all costs money . I wanted to order a burger but was 30 min early to order one but people I saw ordered them that was annoying . But I was lucky I ordered the chicken msredrd mustard Spanish rostie it was really nice I'm lucky I ordered that. The okay prices I think are too expensive potentially $5 or over a total for the table kids play for free. All the food and coffee was pretty good . The kids pancake with other was the same price as one on the full menu that U got 2 pancakes good scoop of strawberry ice-cream and strawberries in the pancake so we got that instead , that wasn't a kids meal. The only in the kids area the wife could of been better and lower kids play prices should be lower everything else was good if eat again if I'm in the area. Staff where all friendly and polite and happy and enjoying their job .

The staff member in this photo seriously needs proper customer service training and, more importantly, needs to understand that being racist towards visitors is completely unacceptable. We had one of the worst experiences during our visit. From the moment we arrived, there was a noticeable attitude problem. One of our friends had their order messed up, which, to be fair, can happen. Mistakes are part of the job and we would have understood that. However, instead of handling it with a simple apology or any professionalism, the staff responded with rudeness, dismissiveness and an awful attitude. What shocked us most was not the mistake itself, but the way they reacted. They made us feel like we were the problem for simply pointing it out. It was deeply disappointing and honestly quite upsetting. If you are planning to visit, be prepared for one of the worst customer service experiences you might have in Australia. The place clearly does not care about how it treats people, and the behaviour of the staff reflects that. Keep your expectations low so you are not caught off guard like we were.

The Big Strawberry 🍓 – Nice spot, but service needs work This was my second visit to The Big Strawberry & sadly, it won’t be a third. I brought my family here thinking it would be a great spot for locals and tourists alike, but the service left a lot to be desired. We wanted to try some strawberry liquor at the tasting area, but it was unattended when we arrived. After waiting a few minutes, two staff members appeared, one said she’d send someone over but nothing happened. Another lady noticed us waiting but didn’t offer any help, just glanced and went about her tasks. After asking three times, one lady finally served us but seemed annoyed and mentioned the tasting was limited to three people, which felt a bit rude. In the end, we only shared 1 sample and didn’t end up buying a bottle. It felt disappointing, especially as visitors and I can’t help but wonder if that influenced the attitude we received. The venue is beautiful with nice indoor and outdoor spaces, so it’s unfortunate the customer service didn’t live up to that standard. To improve, better staff training on attentiveness and friendliness , especially during busy times is essential. Every guest, whether local or tourist, should feel genuinely welcomed and valued. Treating people differently based on where they’re from can come across as unfair or even racist, which is truly disappointing. I hope the team can improve because the potential here is huge! 🍓✨

Really enjoyed our Devonshire tea. Was a bit confused about the pricing as it advertised $12- for 2 scones + coffee or tea but I only had 1 scone & still cost $23- 🤔 but scones were great 👍. Purchased some relish & jam and when we got it home realised it was 4 months after best before date 🤦🏻‍♀️ Hopefully they’re ok after spending $24- buyer beware I didn’t think to check that

Shepparton Moooving Art is a unique public art exhibition featuring over 90 life-size 3D cows scattered throughout Greater Shepparton. These vibrant and creatively painted cows can be found in gardens, playgrounds, public spaces, and even local businesses. The playground itself is Australia's largest adventure playground, open from dawn to dusk with entry by gold coin donation.
This image presents another uniquely decorated cow sculpture, this time with a whimsical and theatrical flair. The cow is painted in shades of brown, but it's adorned with a vibrant blue and black "costume." This costume features gold trim, button-like accents, and what appears to be a saddle on its back, adding to the imaginative design. The cow also sports a red hat or head covering and large, stylized goggles or eye coverings, giving it a cartoonish and almost steampunk-like appearance. Like the previous sculptures, this cow stands on a simple green rectangular base, situated on a patch of green grass. The background shows a sunny day with trees displaying a mix of green and yellow leaves, suggesting it might be autumn in Melbourne. The bright sunlight casts a distinct shadow of the cow on the ground, highlighting its three-dimensional form. Overall, this sculpture is a playful and creative piece of public art that injects a sense of fun and fantasy into the outdoor setting. The attention to detail in the painted costume and accessories makes it a captivating and amusing sight.

Recently upgraded, the museum now showcases a red Gullwing at the front which catches visitors' attention. While the truck exhibit in the rear is comprehensive, some visitors may prefer to see more cars. Additionally, MOVE displays other historical artifacts like telephones, radios and clothing. There's also an interesting collection of Furphy foundry products and history on display.
An incredible spot to visit in Shepparton! The collection of vintage cars, trucks, and bicycles is truly impressive, and the costume display and Furphy collections are fantastic bonus that adds extra charm. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the space itself is quite large — it took us about 1.5 to 2 hours to explore everything. Well worth the ticket price and definitely a must-see!

Surprisingly good range of vehicles, very well presented. Fun experience with a decent (albeit slightly pricey) café just next door. The collection changes as well, so one person I went with who's been before was saying that was a cool feature of the place, and I agree. Some great and rare pieces of motor history.
Zachary C — Google review
I have never been to a motor museum where the exhibits were as spotless as these ones. Everything was immaculately presented. There was a good range of cars, trucks, and very thing in between. Would definitely recommend a visit. Well worth the very reasonable ticket entry price.

So many different things to see! Much more than just cars and motorbikes. A couple of hours passed before we know it. The staff are really friendly and the amenities spotless.

Very cool collection of cars, motor bikes, push bikes, trucks and even buses. Newer models, older models and everything inbetween. Well presented and displayed!

An unexpected great find in Shepparton. Fascinating history of bikes, cars and trucks. Well worth spending a couple of hours. Also an extensive collection of 200 year old clothing.
Angustrom — Google review
Fantastic museum - something for everyone. I'm not normally into "fashion", but the amazing collection of historic bridal and evening gowns, handicrafts, as well as "what every genteel gentleman would wear", is well worth seeing. Also antique sound equipment, and other interesting items. The boys (young and old) will enjoy the classic cars, trucks, fire engines, not to mention the history of the classic LOCALLY MADE "furphy" with some great historic items on display. And if you don't know what a furphy is, all the more reason to visit and broaden your knowledge of great Australian inventions. And when you've seen it all, pop next door for some lunch at the cafe. Or have a chocolate apple!!

My wife took a had a medical issue whilst we were visiting, I would like to thank Lauren for going above and beyond her job description, she couldn't have been more helpful and attentive to make My wife feel comfortable and safe. A ambulance was called as a precaution and after a checkup from the paramedics all was well. Thankyou again Lauren for your concern and support. Any employer would not find a better employee . Do yourself a favour and head to Longleat Winery for a culinary delight. Young local chef Jack is a superstar offering a delicious menu of share plates using fresh local produce. The wine on offer caters for everyone from bubbles through to a choice of whites, rose and reds with each one being very enjoyable and easy to drink. Pauline was our host for the afternoon and was so friendly and easy to talk to with nothing being too much trouble. It was our first visit to Longleat but it definitely won’t be our last. Outstanding service food and ambiance. Thanks Jack and Pauline for making our experience so relaxing and enjoyable if we could give you 10 stars we would. Geoff and Sue.

I was pleasantly surprised with all the renovation since I last called into this excellent vineyard / winery! New floor and outdoor tables under old grape vines as you approach the entrance. You have a good view of the vines whether you sit here or the veranda. There is a large room at the rear with a good view of the vines and a larger artwork on the back wall. This space can hold 80 - 100 people depending on the type of event and the food served. Really nice for any occasion! I was keen to have a glass of their beautiful rose being fairly dry and fruity ❤️ Loverly wine! There is a restaurant now instead of the previous basic cheese board etc. Next time will partake in some food. They have coffee too. A time to chill out and say hi to other visitors! EXCELLENT THANK YOU!!🙏😃⭐️🥇👌❤️

Billabong Ranch is a family-friendly attraction located just 15 minutes east of Echuca. It offers a wide range of activities including horseback riding, mini-golf, pedal boats, archery, climbing walls, and an animal nursery where children can meet baby animals and enjoy pony rides. The ranch also features a museum dedicated to horse-drawn machinery and transport.
A Fantastic Family Getaway at Billabong Ranch This was our second time visiting Billabong Ranch, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! It’s the perfect destination for families, with so many activities that kept our kids entertained from start to finish. Their favorite part was the pony rides – a memorable experience that they’re already asking to repeat. The trampolines were also a huge hit! The kids had a blast jumping around and trying flips. It was great to see them so excited, burning off energy while having fun. We also enjoyed some relaxing family golf, which was a perfect way to unwind after all the jumping. Overall, Billabong Ranch offers a mix of fun, adventure, and relaxation that makes it an ideal spot for a family getaway. We’re already looking forward to our next visit! I would like to shout out the lovely girl that looked after my children on the pony rides as she went above and beyond.

We did a 1 hr horse trail ride here on the Easter Sunday and we really liked it. It's bit expensive for what it is, however the girls were very nice and made sure my 7 year old son had a good time. I would recommend this if you are visiting Echuca.

I’m feeling so nostalgic stumbling across this ranch again! My Nan used to bring me here every time we visited Echuca, and I was absolutely obsessed with horses as a kid. I still remember riding Sparks and Sookie like it was yesterday, those horses were everything to me growing up. While I was off riding, my little brother would spend ages playing mini golf, so there was always something for both of us to enjoy. It’s so lovely to see the ranch still going strong and continuing to bring joy to other families. Thank you for being such a core part of my childhood, I’ll always hold those memories close 💛🐴 (Sharing a couple of photos with Sparks and Sookie, taken just over 10 years ago for a bit of nostalgia!)

The Great Aussie Beer Shed & Heritage Farm Museum is a one-of-a-kind museum that offers a comprehensive experience for visitors. The museum features an eclectic collection of motoring, brewing, and domestic items, including thousands of beer cans from around the world.
It's definitely worth a visit, well exceeded what I thought it would be. Greeted by a lovely guy who was one of the tour guides, he was so welcoming and told me where everything was, offered me a drink from the bar to walk around with while I looked around and told me there would be a tour on in 5 mins. He showed me some amazing creations made out of beer cans. Met the owner Neil at the bar at the entrance he was very personable and welcoming. Went into a monster size shed and was blown away at the variety of memorabilia, definitely a trip down memory lane with some things. Listen to Neil talk about some items there it was so interesting and just when I thought I'd seen it all I realised that was only half of what was there, there was a huge hall out the back and more outside, such great displays. I would definitely recommend you visit here. You will not be disappointed. Well done, Neil and staff, on a great attraction.
Liz C — Google review
Staff are very welcoming, and Neil's enthusiasm and knowledge is great, as well as entertaining. Apart from the mind boggling array of beer related stuff, there are lots of other gems from years gone by. Make sure you also explore the displays outside, including the shipping containers out behind the car park. Number 1 rated attraction in Echuca for a reason.... well worth a visit.

A really worthwhile place to visit. The owner will greet you at the door and gives a great presentation. He is one character and a half and has the best Aussie personality and a great knowledge of the recent Australian past. You will learn things from him you never knew. Was glad we made the effort to visit.

What a delight! We popped into the Great Aussie Beer Museum while in Echuca and were absolutely charmed. The place is so much more than beer though as you’ll find walls of vintage beer cans, brewery relics, retro signs, old petrol pumps, restored automobiles, farm machinery, soda dispensers, and more. A huge shout out to Neil an absolute legend, the owner whose passion and knowledge of Australian history, culture, and memorabilia really bring the collection to life. He took time to explain many of the items, cracked a few jokes, and made the experience personal and memorable. The atmosphere is delightfully nostalgic and rustic it’s like stepping back in time. There’s a sense that every object has a story. The restored cars and machinery especially add a touch of old-school charm. If you’re in Echuca, do not skip this museum. It’s a passion project that’s well worth your time and admission.

The Historic Port of Echuca is a captivating open-air museum that takes you back to the 19th century, showcasing the rich history of this once-thriving river wharf. As home to Australia's largest fleet of steam-driven paddlesteamers, it operates much like it did in the 1860s, with skilled shipwrights and steam engineers still playing crucial roles today.
A wonderful place to visit. A true piece of history preserved to this day. Both kids and adults will definitely find it interesting here. The boat ride was definitely impressive. It was unforgettable. Highly recommend.

Great district to visit. Step back in time. See and experience the old world in modern comfort. Steam Trains, Horse & carriage, Paddle Steamers - all ready to experience. Can get very busy. Bookings recommended on Peak Days
Tony W — Google review
Port of Echuca feels like being transported back in time. The restored wharf, the smell of the river gums, and the creak of timber all give it a charming old-town vibe that’s hard to find elsewhere. The highlight is watching and riding the historic paddle steamers still operating on the Murray, hearing the chug of their engines and the whistle echoing off the water is pure nostalgia. Around the wharf you’ll also spot an old steam engine on display and plenty of rustic, heritage-style buildings that complete the old-school river-port atmosphere. Great place for a stroll, photography, or a ride on one of the paddleboats. A must-see if you’re in Echuca!
Arjun P — Google review
A great historical area focussed on the Murray River riverboats and related industries. Some of these industries are still practised here for tourists. Some good eating places and enough to fill in your day and go on a paddle boat cruise.
Paul D — Google review
the Port of Echuca delivers a memorable day out that celebrates Australia’s inland waterways. The Port of Echuca, located at 74 Murray Esplanade, is a captivating riverside gem that encapsulates the rich maritime and cultural heritage of Victoria’s Murray River region. Visited on a September sunny afternoon, this historic precinct left me enchanted with its blend of nostalgia, natural beauty, and free access, making it an unmissable stop for travelers and locals alike. Often dubbed the "Paddle Steamer Capital of Australia," this vibrant hub offers a step back in time while delivering a modern-day experience that’s both educational and relaxing. The port’s free entry is a delightful surprise, allowing unrestricted exploration of its sprawling 5-hectare site along the Murray River. The star attraction is the restored wharf, a bustling hub in the 19th century when Echuca was a vital trade link between Melbourne and inland Australia. Walking the wooden planks, I marveled at the historic paddle steamers docked along the riverbank, including the iconic PS Alexander Arbuthnot and PS Emmylou, which offer paid cruises but are a sight to behold even from shore. The wharf’s interpretive signs vividly recount tales of paddle steamers hauling wool, timber, and supplies, with over 200 vessels once operating from this port. The adjacent Star Hotel, dating back to 1860, and the working blacksmith forge add authentic touches, while the Discovery Centre provides interactive exhibits on the river’s ecology and Indigenous history—perfect for families or history buffs. The setting itself is a draw, with the Murray River’s glassy waters reflecting the red gums and willow trees lining the banks. I spent time on the grassy esplanade, enjoying a spontaneous picnic with views of the historic bridge and passing houseboats, a nod to the region’s thriving tourism. The port’s layout encourages leisurely wandering, with pathways leading to the Echuca Wharf Brewery for a craft beer or the Port of Echuca Coffee Lounge for a caffeine fix. The free daily events, like the 1 PM cannon firing (weather permitting), add a lively touch, though I missed it by minutes—next time, I’ll time my visit better. Accessibility is excellent, with flat paths suitable for wheelchairs and prams, and ample parking nearby. The only minor quibble is the lack of shaded seating during peak summer heat, but the riverside breeze mitigates this. For a deeper dive, paid options like the 1-hour paddle steamer cruise ($35 adults) or the 1860s Historic Precinct entry ($15) are worth considering, but the free experience alone—spanning the wharf, gardens, and river views—offers immense value. Whether you’re drawn by the paddle steamer heritage, the chance to spot pelicans, or simply a peaceful riverside escape, the Port of Echuca delivers a memorable day out that celebrates Australia’s inland waterways.

Visitors can explore the history of Holden and witness how these cars were built. The museum also features a spacious exhibit area with more than 40 vehicles on display, along with unique prototypes, vintage photos, and historic video footage. Additionally, there's a gift shop offering souvenirs for enthusiasts.
Our family is a long time supporter of Holdens, and museums like this one are a treat! We visited last weekend. Entry fee is cheap at only $10 per adult. The weather was super hot that day but inside it was comfortable. Great range of vehicles and memorabilia, and it was great to hear all the visitors reminiscing about their Holden adventures. Please visit soon as the museum is closing down in April 2024!

As lovers of cars and all things old and nostalgic, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. It was a little muggy inside (hot day outside) but it was only a minor inconvenience. Great collection of Holdens and Holden memorabilia. Dog friendly too.

Loved our visit to the National Holden Motor Museum. As a mechanic it was great to see all the different models of Holdens from the past decades. There are also some prototype models as well as models used in the product development process. Super interesting place to visit even if you're not a car fanatic. Definitely recommend it if you're in the area or just passing through. There's also a great giftshop which has something for any car nut. Not just Holden fans.

If you’re a car fan or even interested in history the Holden Museum is a must when you’re in Echuca! There’s so much to see and you can get really close to some great and rare examples of Australian motor engineering. Ticket prices are very reasonable and you won’t be disappointed!

A great museum with a range of classic and modern Holden’s that are swapped out every couple of months. With an affordable $10 entry to the museum itself, it grants access for either a 10 minute walk-in-walk-out or more than hour of in-depth reading into the history and information of Holden. The staff are super friendly and approachable and appreciate a good conversation. Overall the National Holden Motor Museum is a must visit for car enthusiasts keen on looking into the discontinued Holden name or rather, just to kill a bit of time while visiting Echuca.

Really great place to visit even if you're not a Holden fanatic (like me). The 50 cars on display are in prime condition and laid out very well. Lots of memorabilia on display as well. The 2 guys that were on duty were friendly and didn't mind a chat. A very informative visit. 👍

Great place for adults to visit to remember their youth & appreciate the vast range of cars that were produced under the Holden banner. The entrance fee was reasonable & the owners were very good about allowing visitors to wander around at their own pace, to get close to the cars & willing to provide information when asked. Well worth a visit, even if you're not particularly interested in cars 'per se'. The evolution of design, the beauty of the vehicles & the historical aspects of the display are inestimable.

We had an EPIC adventure with River Country Adventours on the weekend just gone. It was a Kayaking and Camping weekend but with minimal effort and planning on our behalf - we just turned up with our food, duvet, pillows, camp chairs and clothes! Ash organised everything for us including a large 8 man tent, queen mattress, 2 burner cooker, gas, cutlery, fishing rods, bait and even a portable loo! We arrived to our camp site on the banks of the Goulburn River, left our car and Ash transported us and the canoe to the launch site. 15 leisurely down stream kms later we see our camp along the bank, completing day 1. No other campers around, our own private space with lots of bird life to see. Fishing rods out and a Murray Cod caught with cheese cubes. Murray Cod sent back to river to continue its idealic lifestyle. Camp fire lit, steaks cooked and some cool tunes as the sunset. Next morning after a hearty breakfast on the fire, we head off for 10kms where Ash and his beautiful wife Brooke are waiting for us to take us back to our car. This is a MUST DO - so fun, easy paddling, everything organised for you and not having to pack a tent away was a luxury! Thank you Ash & Brooke - we loved every minute of our experience and can’t wait to come back with like minded friends!

Can’t rate River Country Adventours highly enough. Rob is very knowledgeable and takes excellent care of paddlers - and he’s a great bloke as well. Our trip was very last minute and Rob was able to come up with a great plan at quite short notice. We did a 2-day self-guided paddle on the Goulburn - with Rob providing drop-off and pick-up, all the gear, and a terrific camping location. We saw and heard plenty of bird life - the highlight being an azure kingfisher, and we definitely piqued the interest of plenty of eastern greys. We will be booking some future paddles with Adventours for sure! Thanks Rob!

We had a super friendly service from these guys and they are very supportive if you are not familiar with Kayak and stuff. I'm telling you they are the best guys to meet if you are in Moama/Echuca area and curious to have canoe/Kayak safaris and camping experiences with a great deal. 200% satisfied with the service.

Brilliant. Did a solo self guided 2 day kayak trip on the Goulburn river and it was a fantastic experience. Rob is great. I'll certainly be back.

It was such a pleasure to have Rob take my family and I out canoeing and kayaking today. He was easy going, told us the basics we needed to know in order to enjoy our experience and also filled in the conversation with some fantastic historical information about the area and his interesting career and life. I would highly recommend this experience and service. Thanks for taking care of us, Rob.
