Have driven past this place for 20 years on route to Bright and have many regrets about not stopping in sooner. The wine was great, the snacking board great, the hostess was freaking wonderful. Definitely worth the stop. ❤️

Michelin Wines have a lovely Merlot that I enjoy and having a friend travelling through Myrtleford they stopped a purchased a case fir me. Was I astonished when I paid them to find that it was $3 a bottle dearer at the Cellar Door than my local licensed outlet. Why shop at the Cellar Door?

We really enjoyed the platter, and the Prosecco was excellent, great service

This place is a place you desperately want to fall in love with. From their rich Italian immigrants heritage to the gorgeous Tuscan style villa that houses this establishment. The lady who hosted us was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the wines and the winery. However. The Italian wines were rather unidimentional. The Barbera was reasonably easy to drink, we got a bottle of that. The sangiovese and terodego lacked depth and complexity. Having said that, this is a lovely place to drop by to have a few wines by the glass and sit in their impressive vine pagola. On a positive note, the limited edition fangolino is absolutely delicious. Sweet and delightfully fruity with just a pleasant sour tang. Get yourself a bottle before they sell out.

My husband and I happened upon this lovely winery around 5 years ago. We have barely touched wine from other wineries since! We're currently planning an overseas holiday and are stressing about having access to our favourite wines! Michelini Wines are just that good :)

$10 pp wine tasting Great selection of wines Beautiful place
Michelle J — Google review
They had outdoor seating, so we asked to sit outside and taste a few wines. We were told it was impractical as they had 10 wines. We said we only wanted to taste 1 or 2 and got the same response - it was impractical. Not sure why there would be outdoor seating and not offer service at the outdoor seating ? We went down the road to the next cellar door that welcomed us and executed with perfection what this place said was “impractical”.

The Red Ramia Trading store is part of the Cafe Fez. They are run by the same Nepalese family. The Red Ramia is an absolutely fascinating place, many rooms and area filled with collected artifacts, furnishings, furniture, clothing, and much more. Nepal, India, China, Japan, Morocco, and more. It can take 30-40 minutes to browse through the rooms. Yes, well worth a visit. Recommended! Thank you.

I understand this is a busy cafe especially long weekends but staff need to learn to be kind to each other especially in front of customers. There was a new girl training who had a smile on her face and polite manners, she misheard my order so I went back to correct & the lady with curly hair making coffee was rolling her eyes and looked frustrated. It’s a team job, everyone makes mistakes especially while learning, be kind to your staff. The day after my coffee order was wrong again & instead of maybe admitting she misheard, she said “well that’s what I’ve put through so do you want it” after I had said it was meant to be something different. Another eye roll so I left and didn’t want to wait around for another 20 minutes for coffee anyway.
Kirra M — Google review
Great place with great potential but coffee was a joke. Just look at the latte art. We tried their special cheese cake what a joke it was topped with brown sugar never heard of it. It's taste was funkey as the staff said it was tea infused. I was like what infused. I understand it's a small town but just don't sell what you can't make. I actually enjoyed the breakfast wrap. Now that was good. Service was nothing special. Overall place is cool to take pictures and to buy antique from next door.
PJ S — Google review
I have seen this place from around year 1 of opening, to whats nearly 20+ years later. I Haven't been here for around 10 years, and wow, has it changed. I was so engrossed in all that Red Ramia has to offer the creative collector or the creative designer. There was such a huge array of affordable items that can be purchased. They specialise in many authentic stock from India, China, Turkey, and surrounds. There is just so much to spark your creative side and affordable prices on many items. I have attached some photos to give you an idea of the different items you can expect to see. Accessibility: Right, so I went with a friend who used a pram it was tightish, especially when sharing the isles with others. And it was not hard for long, little, arms to reach out and grab items, so it would be like taking a mini bull into a china shop, so if you bring kids, by all means watch them, or you will be leaving with a good hole in your pocket. But my suggestion would be to go for a date and enjoy kid free, and then when you're worn out from looking and probably spending, jump over to the cafe that looked amazing. It was busy so must be good, people seemed happy and food looked amazing. The owners are amazing, very knowledgeable, and very approachable to ask about anything within the store. Go and have a delightful day letting your eyes roam the store and the goods that are on offer and maybe go, with a budget in mind 😉
Sara H — Google review

Wow what an excellent place, full of lovely healthy, healing products. We got a great tasting full of helpful information. Can highly recommend this place and everything is locally grown and fresh. Will definitely be back to but even more yummy products. Thanks.
Brook L — Google review
Great local products! We found Pepo farms while on our trip to Bright a few years ago. Since then, we have loved their pumpkin seed oil so much, we have taken it to Guatemala, Chile and Spain as presents to our family. They have all loved it! We also love the chocolate covered walnuts with turmeric and their new macadamia oil. Not the cheapest but the quality is soo worth it. We stop on our way to bright every time we get a chance, but have ordered online many times. We are loyal customers and, highly recommend their products.
Lis C — Google review
We stopped off here while riding the rail trail and were glad we did. We both enjoyed tasting the products - really friendly spot to stop. Our favourites were the lightly salted pumpkin seeds, the chocolate coated ones, the turmeric chocolate walnuts and the pecan oil. Really delicious - will definitely be ordering more online.
Sue M — Google review
Loved the products and the way of survey. Much helpful for knowing nutritional values.. variety of products even cold press oil is amazing... We were informed about and tested all the seeds and oil products too.. ample space for sitting and car park too...
Rucha K — Google review
Adorable little shop to visit! The girl who gave us a rundown of the products was friendly and knowledgeable. We bought the dark chocolate covered pumpkin seeds. Would recommend if you’re in the area 🎃🌱
Rosalyn C — Google review
Loved this shop with a huge variety of products including pumpkin seeds in various flavours, walnut products, oils, Jams, sauces. They have tastings of their products with lovely staff providing detailed information on their products. Whilst there was no access to the farm during our visit, they had a delightful little pumpkin and sunflower garden just across the road that people could visit. Overall a very good experience and recommended if you are in Myrtleford or surrounds!!
Glahss — Google review
Great place! The staff are great. We just turned up unannounced, and they were so welcoming, despite having a huge tour group they still found time to give us a tasting session and explain everything about what they do. All the seeds and oils are so tasty, you’ll come away with lots of treats. Highly recommend.
Christopher H — Google review
Great pit stop with the family. Sun flowers are so pretty and there is a wide variety of oils, seeds and gifts to buy for loved ones. The owners are super passionate about what they do and have so much information to share. There is a tasting tour of there products, which are delicious! Thanks again for such an insightful and beautiful visit.

Bridge Road Brewers

$$$$affordable
Brewpub
Located in Beechworth, Australia, Bridge Road Brewers was established in 2005 by Ben and Maria Kraus. The brewery's dedication to handcrafted beers and the local community led to its rapid growth. Visitors can enjoy a variety of housemade craft beers, bar snacks, and pizza in an old-timey hotel with a vaulted ceiling. Additionally, the brewery offers a unique coffee experience for cyclists on the Murry to Mountains Rail Trail.
Bridge Road Brewers is truly a gem for anyone who loves craft beer and a welcoming atmosphere. The moment you walk in, you can feel the character of the place, rustic, warm, and full of energy. The staff are incredibly friendly and always happy to recommend something based on your taste, whether you’re a fan of light, refreshing beers or prefer something darker and more complex. The variety of beers is impressive. Every brew feels carefully crafted, and it’s clear that a lot of passion goes into what they do here. I especially enjoyed trying the tasting paddles, which is such a great way to explore different flavors in one visit. On top of that, the food is outstanding. The menu pairs perfectly with the drinks delicious wood-fired pizzas, hearty snacks, and plenty of options to share if you’re with friends or family. The outdoor seating area is another highlight. It’s spacious, relaxed, and perfect for enjoying a sunny afternoon with a cold beer in hand. It also feels very family-friendly, with lots of groups around, and you don’t feel rushed at all, you can sit back, chat, and enjoy the vibe for hours. What really makes Bridge Road Brewers special is the combination of amazing drinks, great food, and genuine hospitality. It’s more than just a bar; it’s an experience. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is one of those places you’ll want to come back to again and again. Highly recommended!
Zahra F — Google review
I really wanted to love this place, unfortunately I was just really underwhelmed. The wine was lovely and the pizza was good but the roast potatoes were more like diced potato tossed in fat. They were not roasted and were not crunchy at all. The apfelschorle was simply shelf stable apple juice with sparkling water in it. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The couple on the table next to us where cold and requested the heater on, the staff informed them they could not turn on the heater but offered to re seat them somewhere closer to a heater. Unfortunately I wouldn’t return.
Ange M — Google review
Came by with my family last week for lunch and the atmosphere was really great. Staff were friendly and helped set us up with the high chair. Beer selection was wide but we were actually very pleasantly surprise with the apple juice + soda water. Refreshing over lunch! Pizza was made well and we loved the thin crust. But burger was a little disappointing - the buns were hard, dense, and cold, and didn’t hold the content of the burger well. It was too big to actually eat in a single bite. Certainly recommend the pizzas and apple juice!
Andrew L — Google review
Such an amazing venue! :) The food is amazing, the service is exceptional and the beers are the icing on the cake. If you are in Beechworth and are looking for a place to eat, relax and enjoy some sun, you will have to visit Bridge Road. Thank you kindly to Belinda and all the amazing team. We look forward to dropping in next time we are in Beechworth. Keep well
Tim V — Google review
Fantastic brewery with an excellent tap selection and food menu. Friendly staff, kid friendly and take away beers available. Inside and outside dining options. Playground for the kids with parking on site at the rear
Jon W — Google review
One of the best breweries we have visited this year in our Victorian Beer Passports. The beers are amazing and the pizzas are just as great. The tasting paddles are huge but are the best way to experience the wide range of beers they make. I don't like sours or dark beers usually and yet left with a four pack of their sours and the dark ale. Staff were also lovely. I will be back next time I pass through town.
Curtis H — Google review
Excellent laid back pub with an excellent selection of beer, great inviting country vibes, friendly service and delicious pizza! Even though we visited as a couple, I’m still going to give props to the kids menu selection and the play area. The locally brewed ginger beer was delicious, as were the brisket and duck pizzas. Will definitely be back

The Burke Museum in Beechworth is a historical and natural history museum housed in a building from 1857. It's named after Robert O'Hara Burke, known for the tragic Burke and Wills expedition. The museum features over 30,000 historic items spanning 150 years, including Aboriginal weapons, 19th-century taxidermy, and Gold Rush artifacts. The Ned Kelly Vault offers an extensive exhibition on the infamous bushranger.
Such friendly staff. They go out of their way to share more history was great. Nice size museum of history loved the little street set up soon many pieces of history to take in. Worth a look for a small fee .
Kristy E — Google review
A must-go place if you are keen on the history of gold rush. The museum collected thousands of old items from local residents which were put behind shop windows to restore the town street in the late 1800s. The taxidermy exhibitions under maintenance the day I visited which was a pity.
Guang Y — Google review
My mother told us that this place is a must visit. And guess what, Mum was right. We loved our visit here. Fascinating history on a fascinating part of the state and country. Beautifully curated throughout. And thank you so much to the local gentleman who gave us a wonderful overview of the building and the exhibits and the terrific tips on what to see in the local area

Wow! I really enjoyed my visit here. Margot the tour guide made it so much more enjoyable with her wealth of knowledge and friendliness. Highly recommended
Julie O — Google review
small museum in Beechwood...most exhibitions are from the Beechwood area with an extensive collection of taxidermy animals including an extraordinary Thylacine Tassie tiger from the Beechworth area ..they are all over 100 years old but in great condition..probaly not everyone's cup of tea but its history ...also a great selections of rocks and minerals and some fossils ...they have also set up a street scene from old Beechworth times ...not expensive and doesn't take that long to get around so worth a visit when in the area
Warren B — Google review
A fabulous little museum steeped in its own history. It began as a place of learning for the people of the goldfields in 1856 and is named after Robert O'Hara Burke of Burke and Wills fame. He was a much respected police superintendent in Beechworth. It contains thousands of artefacts. I particularly liked the way items were organised into replica shop windows to group items by domain. The taxidermy collection was impressive. I wished the other items in the natural history section were better labelled.
Rebecca T — Google review
Really interesting museum. I like that they represent historical people as well as current local people.
Betty D — Google review
Fantastic little museum. Only $5 for adults or $3 concession. Has a fascinating collection of local rocks and native fauna taxidermy. Some in better condition than others. Has a recreated historical Beechworth alley where you can view objects from a hundred years ago. A newer instalment has a more personal analysis of the town. A historic citizen and a modern citizen are placed next to each other and their story is told. Sometimes it works more than others.

Beechworth Telegraph Station is a hidden gem located in an original gold rush era building. It's the last remaining telegraph station where knowledgeable volunteers operate the morse code equipment and even send telegrams for visitors. The station also houses an interesting museum showcasing the history of telegraphs and telecommunications, including old phones from different eras.
Interesting little museum, highlighting early communications in Australia - in particular, Morse code. The kids experienced how difficult it was to even spell out one word - due to multiple attempts. Also interesting to see all the old insulators from power poles.
Aly M — Google review
Fantastic place to visit. A lot of interesting history for young and old. Having the hands on interactive places are great. Kids can have fun here. I found the lady very helpful and knowledgeable. Fantastic place run by volunteers. Well done.
Rite W — Google review
What a great little find. The last remaining 'dots and dashes' telegraph manned by knowledgeable volunteers. From here you can send someone a telegram. As there are no commercial telegraph offices operating any more, it gets relayed to two other volunteers who transcribe the message, print it then send the telegram on by post as a sake. This also has an interesting museum at the rear of the telegram office. Well worth a quick visit
Don T — Google review
A great little telecommunications museum with very helpful and friendly staff. Worth a quick visit to see the old technology.
Jo S — Google review

Beechworth Historic Court House, situated on Ford Street, is an integral part of the Justice Precinct. Dating back to 1858, this impressive building complex was constructed with local honey-colored granite and includes several historic structures such as the former Telegraph Office, Police Station, Chinese Protectors Office, and Gold Wardens Office. Today, it stands as a museum showcasing Beechworth's rich history including its involvement in gold mining and World War II.
A great historic precinct with so much history. We did the tour of the courthouse for $10 per adult. Very good value with a captioned presentation on the walls going through 4 cases heard in the courthouse. After the presentation you are free to wonder the rooms and even dress in judges garb if desired. Natasha was our guide who was very knowledgeable and spoke in a clear voice. Well worth visiting particularly if you want to learn more about Ned Kelly and his associates. The law library is also very impressive.
Jo S — Google review
the whole historic zone in Beechworth is amazing ..courthouse ...telegraph station .. gold wardens house ...gold office ..along with the old gaol absolutely amazing must see when in the Beechworth area ...all dating back to 1850s to 1860s build during the Beechworth Gold rush period

We did the courthouse guided tour. It was worth the small fee, lots of interesting information and you could look at how courts were conducted during the 19th century. It's a beautiful old building and well worth preserving, it's our history.

Excellent, informative and balanced view of Ned's story within the context of the regional Victorian court system of the time. Three projectors display the story hugely magnified across the interior courtroom walls so you can truly be immersed in the history of the court building. Side rooms include the judge's chamber (where you can try on legal wigs and robes) and a magnificent law library full of ancient volumes. Very informative and helpful guide Mal answered all my questions and was very well-versed on the subject. A must for fans of Beechworth, legal and goldfields era history!
Jane T — Google review
If you want experience the deeper history of Beechworth, then the Court house is a great place to start. Beechworth has an amazing number of little places you can take the kids or yourself to go and have a visit to learn about Beechworth. The court House is of course famous for its association with Ned Kelly, but it also is an amazing place to come and see a historic building, built in 1958 and was a working courthouse right up to 1989, this courthouse has been an interesting and integral part of the community just as much as the Beechworth Goal Has. I love how you can almost access nearly every room of the courthouse minus the lady's balcony and a storeroom. But the Library happened to be our favourite room, it was filled with old law books and just had that nostalgic feel about it, the kids loved the library and the holding cells. (They used to have an audio spill that used to play but that feature was not there anymore. It did make for a great way to experience the court room.) The kids love being able to explore and sit where the judge and lawyers would sit and they did a little court play of their own. It was cheap to get in costing us a family of 6 $10. you could pay a bit extra for a guided tour which would probably have been great. There were souvenirs you could purchase for reasonable prices. Accessibility: The courthouse is wheelchair friendly, and you can access most of the courthouse bar the cells I believe. The staff are welcoming and encourage all to come and take part in the history of Beechworth. Great place for kids and anyone to come and visit.
Sara H — Google review
This place is fantastic! Cheap to visit. The court house is in original condition as it was on the last day is was used. Lots of interesting information to read. Ned Kellys trial began here in August 1880 before it was transferred to Melbourne. Don’t forget to go around the rear of the building where one of the old stable buildings still stand. Also the old stone lock up with would be terrible to be locked up in. The whole area is so interesting and next door is the telegraph office to visit as well.

Old Beechworth Gaol, located on Ford Street, is part of the impressive Justice Precinct listed on the Victorian Heritage Register. The site was originally a government camp and later became a police reserve in 1856. Constructed of local honey-colored granite, the complex includes several historic buildings such as the former Telegraph Office, Court House, Police Station, Chinese Protectors Office, and Gold Wardens Office.
The Gaol tour in Beechworth is definitely worth a visit! Our tour guide was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor that made the experience even more enjoyable. It was fascinating to hear the stories of those imprisoned there, especially the infamous Ned Kelly and his gang. The history and stories brought the place to life in such an engaging way. If you’re visiting Beechworth, this tour should be at the top of your list! Highly recommended!

Had an awesome time at the Old Beechworth Gaol tour! Graham was a great guide and really knew his stuff/made it super interesting. Loved the Kelly family stories, but also learned heaps about the gaol’s history. Wish there was an opportunity to keep looking after the tour.

We took the kids to the Beechworth Gaol during the school holidays. The tour was well priced and it was easy to book online. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all of the questions from the group. We highly recommend the tour for all ages. It's a great part of the local history.

fantastic old goal...guided tours run almost every hour and is the only way to checkout the inside of the prison something to remember ...first tour at 10am .. HM Prison Beechworth was built on the site of Beechworth's first stockade. It was designed by Victoria's Public Works Department and constructed using local granite that was quarried with prison labour... Beechworth was one of nine panopticon prisons built in Victoria. Construction began in 1857 and the prison opened in 1860, though was incomplete and only had single cells for 36 prisoners. The capacity doubled when the building was completed in 1864. Beechworth initially housed male and female prisoners. Female prisoners were assigned washing and needlework for government departments. Between 1865 and 1881, eight executions were carried out at the prison.Ned Kelly served six months at the prison in 1870-71 for assault. He was again held there during his committal trial for murder in 1880. Kelly's mother, Ellen and two associates of the Kelly family also served sentences at the prison the late 1870s for the attempted murder of Constable Alexander Fitzpatrick. Twenty suspected sympathisers of Kelly were held in 1879 in an attempt to limit support to the Kelly gang. The prison's iron gates were installed due to fears there may be attempts to break the sympathisers out of the prison.

What a great tour! Very informative and fascinating to know the history. Our guide Peter was fantastic. I could have listened to him talk for hours. If only those walls could talk, we’d know so much more. Definitely a place worth visiting when coming to Beechworth!

The tour guide was awesome, knew his stuff and history and loved telling the story. Gail only closed in the early 2000s so some infamous people looked up here. Kelly History deep with his Mum locked up for a few years.

Beechworth Gaol had not only the Kelly & gang incarcerated here but also Kelly's mentor & tutor - the "gentlemen" Bushranger Harry Power. Somehow Harry Power's tales are subsumed by Ned Kelly's but it is just as interesting. Other inmates here included a whole bunch of modern day tax evaders & Melbourne's infamous underbelly crims. The newer additions include the conjugal visits area in the gaolers yard as you make your way inside on the right & a swimming pool area - gated off on the left. I expected the Gaol to be bigger but it is small with about 110 to 123 inmates capacity. There is the heritage Kelly era wing, the newer ones plus the Hangman's room & the Noose. A group of us - pre-purchased online tix for the 10 am tour Sun 23 Feb recently. A huge crowd of almost 40. The next tour only had a handful - so perhaps this is a better timeslot. Free parking in front of entry gates & also side street. There is a Cafe Truck in the entry yard too & a nice reception re-purposed area & toilets inside before tour starts. Tour ran for 45 mins & Guide thankfully used audio speaker. Typical Oz humour delivered with full on ocker tones- which you wonder if overseas visitors understood. Exercise yard - with the metal mirror (you will find out why) is also the site of 1800s hard labour (breaking granite & carting it), the chain gang tales all made for the grim reality not only the gold rush lawless period but also the 20th century penitentiary system. You get more of the blood & gore penitentiary stories under the pentagonal wooden roofed & similar shaped guard room inside. The replica Kelly gang armour suite is lined up here (by this time it is an oft repeated sight for us having started the Kelly trail at Glenrowan.). For dedicated Ned Kelly & Harry Power stories - do the Ned Kelly Trail tour run by the Visitor's Centre. Beats me how the confined cells & dire deeds of yore can be re-purposed into arts, entertainment & hospitality...Takes it beyond the "dark" tourism into the 21st century enlightenment I suppose. One way of maintaining historical sites like this for future generations but the essence of harsh reality of colonial past would be lost surely. Whatever works to make it a viable site. Pentridge Prison is already a popular re-purposed hub but ..er..rrr..rr - it ain't for me.

With the visit when exploring the area. Beautiful views of the falls from the lookout point! Nice picnic area with WCs available. Due to injury we couldn’t explore as much as we would have liked, but there were lots of people walking around the rocks and falls below.

Easy walk to the fall from the parking. The view is spectacular and the breeze makes the heat go away. The rocks underneath the water are slippery but with proper shoes it is not too dangerous. A good destination for a day trip, with friends and family or solo trip.

The estate features a crenellated folly surrounded by formal English gardens and offers an extensive selection of wines, including the renowned museum-class muscat made from 100-year-old liqueur.
Had amazing time here. The grounds are stunning. The tour of the cellars and wine tasting were excellent. Lunch at Kin restaurant was as a highlight

Lovely Winnery. Classic buildings and a super restaurant. We stopped by for a Pizza Lunch in the ordinary restaurant, which was great, nice environment and tasty food at a fair price. But there is a premium full service restaurant as well for special occasions. 😎👍👍👍👍

All Saints Estate is a classic winery experience with a modern twist. Cellar door Tastings are $15 per person, or you can enjoy a whole glass in the restaurant for roughly the same. There's an enticing menu inspired by local produce. Picnicing is encouraged in the formal gardens. There's an enticing line up of entertainment if you want to make a weekend of it. A destination worth seeking out.

I had a terrible experience here. There are so many other wineries in the area that could be recommended before All Saints. I popped in to purchase a Mother's Day bottle. I purchased a single, mid-range bottle from the cellar door. The disdain and indifference my purchase was shown left a very sour taste. I stood there, awkwardly waiting to pay, for an eternity, while the server chatted with a customer about maybe joining the wine club. Every other winery I attended in Rutherglen and surrounds was a warm and endearing experience.

The staff at St Leonards are exceptional, accommodating to various ideas and providing impressive service. Guests are always left impressed with the overall experience, as the food, wine, and service are all highlights of the day. This venue comes highly recommended for its outstanding qualities.
St Leonard’s is the most incredible winery and the perfect wedding venue. We had such a wonderful day and night celebrating our big day here in April. The photo locations around the vineyard are incredible and having our ceremony and reception here made the day flow so seamlessly. The staff are wonderful, and were so accommodating to our ideas. The food, wine and service were a big highlight of our day and our wedding guests were so impressed with St Leonard’s as a whole. We can’t recommend this venue enough! Thank you St Leonard’s :)

Morris Wines, an iconic winery in Rutherglen with over 150 years of history, is known for its tradition of combining old-fashioned methods with modern techniques. The vineyard is one of the oldest in the region and offers a unique experience with its extensive tastings of reds and fortified wines. Visitors are greeted by friendly staff and can enjoy a warm and welcoming environment while learning about the winemaking process.
The new cellar door must be seen to be believed (don’t miss the bathrooms 😄) It is truly a work of art and the decor and use of local timbers is just stunning. Michelle? took me through a flight of great whisky’s and it was great to see that Morris has become the latest Whisky Club clubhouses with all the great benefits that club members derive 🥰🥰. This cellar door is a must if you are visiting Rutherglen.

This is a most impressive and modern cellar door. With tasting options for wine, whiskey, gin and beer, plus food options as well, something for everyone. I went for their wine and dessert wines, and these were purchased, but did not expect the high quality in their whisky and gin range, that also made the box of joy I took to the car. An enjoyable, and educational, experience.

Very impressive building and surrounds. Great amenities. Very stylish. But such a disappointing wine tasting experience. No charm. No chat from the serving staff - just paid wine tasting on a tray and charge not deducted from purchase of wine - disgraceful. Wines were beautiful, though. Experience was not.

Exceptional service, great wines, beautiful scenery! We arrived around 330pm on a Wednesday afternoon, we didn’t make an appointment and still got a warm welcome. We were offered to taste wines for free and had the greatest chat with the staff member (I forgot to ask for his name!!). We didn’t have to buy anything even though we tasted 6-7 drinks but trust me, you will want to take a bottle home! So we did buy 4 of them on the spot. :) we got some great tips about campsites in the area and now ended up in a beautiful spot (for free!) at the riverfront thanks to the recommendation we got. great experience and warmly recommended!

Gooramadda Olives is a picturesque olive farm that offers an impressive selection of table olives and olive oil varietals. Located in a charming timber outbuilding surrounded by three olive groves, the farm provides tastings of their fleshy green king kalamata, rose-scented koroneiki from Greece, soft-textured Spanish manzanillo, and fruity French verdale olives.
A MUST place to visit in Rutherglen! What a wonderful experience we had with Rob, he is so knowledgable, friendly and welcoming. We walked away with so much knowledge about olives, olive oil and dressings. If you are an olive aficionado or just want to give it a try, this is the place for you. Highly recommended!

A must when visiting Rutherglen and surrounds. We have been visiting for 5-6 years and this place consistently delivers the BEST olives and the BEST olive oil. Our house favourites are the Gooramadda style olives and the Hardy’s mammoth oil. Their products are in a league of their own and visiting is a must to have a chat and learn about oil and olives. It’s no surprise their produce wins awards year after year. Thanks so much!

We had such a terrific tasting experience with Rob at Gooramadda Olives on Sunday. We've made many trips to Rutherglen without visiting this gem of place - now it will be a regular. Great place for a picnic, BBQ facilities . There's an off leash area for dogs, on leash near the BBQ. Beautiful location, lots of parking, kayaks and canoes for hire. The river allows you to float along and the locals told us most swim and fast float about 2 klms. We saw little kids, dogs and elderly floating down the river so seems safe. A must see location.

I agree, this a must visit location in Albury with the Services Memorial at its centre. The memorial is well maintained and is a great location to look over Albury. A beautiful spot whether your a tourist or a local. Great views of Albury/Wodonga. Most of all its our War Memorial site. I hadn't been there in 15yrs and what a change. It's more than a monument. There are plarks for all the different wars Australians have fought at. The ANZAC Day area is all done in exposed concrete and the monument is shining in bright white. Picnic areas are fantastic and there are many to choose from. The view right to the end of Dean Street always looks great. Beautiful site to visit as well at night.

Good area to visit if you stay for couple of days in Albury. You can either hike up or drive all the way up here. Parking around the Monument. Can have eye-bird view of Albury from this hill. Albury Botanic Gardens, established in 1877, spans across 9.9 acres and features a diverse collection of native and exotic plant species. The gardens boast over 1,000 plant species from 450 genera and 95 plant families, including a notable assortment of rainforest species.
The Botanical gardens are exceptionally beautiful and I found that they were relatively quiet and not overcrowded. There's a fantastic diversity of flora and lots of shade in seats situated throughout the park. I would like to see it open at night time. Sometimes especially lit up with events or perhaps choirs. It would also be a great place to hold nature studies for school groups to encourage our children to become lovers of the planet.

What a charming little park! Colorful flowers and tall palm trees sway gently in the breeze, accompanied by the sweet scent of osmanthus blossoms. Locals can be seen relaxing on the grass, enjoying picnics with friends, or playing with their children—it's truly a lovely spot to unwind. The children's playground is a particular highlight, full of whimsical and imaginative features: ceramic sculptures, a dinosaur-shaped speaking tube, small animal-themed wooden seats, handpans, and tiny xylophones… There's even a fairytale-like restroom adorned with stained glass and a sculpted lizard winding around the exterior. It's truly a magical place.

A look at what is left of the camp. Interesting displays and videos in the buildings. Well set out. The migrants stories and the numbers that were processed here were amazing. Friends have many connections to Bonegilla. I didn't realise the numbers of different Nationalities that arrived. So glad I visited

Very emotional experience for me as my father and his family arrived her in 1949 when my dad was 3. If you have a family connection to Bonegilla I highly recommend joining a tour, as you will receive a more detailed account of what life was like for immigrants and the tour guide is very accomodating in trying to assist guests with personal questions (as much as they can). Note: tours don't run every day so find out ahead of time when they are available.

A throughly great experience! My grandparents stayed here for a week in 1960 before relocating to the Illawarra. While they are longer with us, it was great to see their names listed on the database. Good to see the government allocating funds for the much needed restoration and repair work to ensure this part of Australian history is preserved. Thank you to the lovely volunteers who were so knowledgeable and welcoming!
Michael J — Google review
Bonegilla Migrant reception and training centre received and trained migrants who were brought to Australia following World War ll. There were more than 24 blocks all numbered which made up the migrant centre. Block 19 is the last remaining block. At its busiest the centre housed up to 8000 people, occasionally in tents but usually in large accommodation huts. Women and children were separated from the men until huts were partitioned into cubicles for families. Initially the centre was only for displaced persons from refugee camps 🏕 in Europe. As the need for labour increased immigration officials opened up the migrants from other countries. Block 19 has 12 areas which you are allowed to walk 🚶‍♀️ around either by yourself or with a guided tour guide. The men were contracted out all over the country. The contracts imposed strain as the women were left to raise their children alone without family members to support them, plus they were isolated due to the language difficulties. Pregnancy and childbirth were difficult for the younger women without traditional family support of older female members of the family who were sent elsewhere. Lonely isolated and frightened they were unable to express their needs and fears because of language difficulties. The hospital was established at the beginning of 1949 it was mainly established to cater for pregnant 🤰 women and their families. There was over 240 babies 👶 born at the centre. The school 🏫 was completed by 31 January 1949 there were 6 schoolrooms catering for about 350 children. The Displaced Person Scheme was scaled down by the Menzies government toward the end of 1951 and terminated in early 1952. The Uranquinty camp was closed by September 1951 the remaining migrants were relocated to Bonegilla while some workers were sent to Wagga. Accommodation huts and other buildings were occasionally relocated within the reception centre as things changed. As the centre closed the buildings were sold locally. The experience includes recreation hut, kitchen and mess hall, Tudor hall, chapel, accommodation huts, Hume public service club/employment office, Bonegilla function space, amenities hut and silhouette huts.

It’s hard to believe over 300,00 people passed through this place which at one time resembled a town with its own bank, sporting fields, churches, police station, hospital and railway platform. So many stories within the walls of the timber framed huts. Many of the huts display belongings and other artefacts, a personal reminder of the former residents. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful with information. I highly recommend this experience for anyone interested in Australia’s migration history.

A jewel in the NSW crown. Of all the wineries (all over Australia) that we have visited, this has to be the most passionate about their wines and how they produce them. As others have stated, a very warm welcome from Julianne the owner and of course from Milo the house Chocolate Labrador. A very pleasant location to enjoy a Sunday afternoon. The deck area welcomes you with birdsong and rustling of trees whilst you are protected from the sun by sturdy umbrellas. If you want to sit inside, an elegant dining area awaits. Platters are freshly made including home produce and there are also 2 and 3 course meals available. The wine tasting experience expanded to include the new moderately sweet wines which have just released. No spoilers - just make sure you visit and enjoy! Say hi to Milo on your way in and sign the visitor book on the way out! Exact location is 35.915013,147.323099

It’s near the recently completed Woomargama Lookout, with great views of the surrounding valleys, where from some points you can even see Mt Kosciusko too. Owners Julianne and Les were amazing hosts, giving us great info about the areas, produce and their process. Eating areas are: outdoors, on deck with umbrellas for shade, and indoor, incl a comfy fireplace. Food was fresh, full of flavour. Barramundi with Prosciutto salad was superb. Great pairings with their own, award-winning Reisling. Wonderful coffee using a local Albury brew from The Brothers Cup. Great experience, will be back as we hear some sweeter wines, are nearly ready. 😉 We were treated to a special visit from Graham Robertson, an Antarctic polar biologist, who’s done a lot to help the fishing industry clean up their harmful practices. Everyone had great stories to tell. Delightful experience all around!

What a hidden gem! We were so warmly welcomed by Les and Julianne and were delighted in our sit down experience with Les, sampling all those beautiful wines produced at Flyfaire and coming to understand just why they are so unique! Lets just say we now have a whole new appreciation for what a Riesling has to taste like!! Will definitely be stopping by again!

Thank you Julianne and Les for your wonderful hospitality yesterday. The atmosphere of this place is very warm and cozy with absolutely amazing wines. I thoroughly enjoyed my unplanned visit to this gorgeous winery. Highly recommend this place, Les and Julianne are absolutely beautiful and lovely couple who will make sure you have a great experience.

Called into the winery today (Sunday) for a wine tasting. I was informed by an elderly gent that it would cost $20 for 4 wines per head. I commented that that was a bit expensive, I was told " my time does not come cheap on a Sunday". Too stunned to reply we just walked out.

Les and Julianne were the most hospitable and genuine salt of the earth people. The wines were outstanding and the food delicious. Truely a 5 star experience. Flyfair winery is a must visit.

Glad to step back in time with the various sculptures around town. Main street buildings go back to the 1840's beautiful kept & you feel like you are back in that era. Water tower mural & museum ehere you walk back in time & also Doris Golder Gallery of layered wool art which consists of portraits and landscapes constructed in natural coloured fleece wool.

Amazing couple did an outstanding job gathering all the pottery pieces from 1800 era! Beautiful pieces gathered! Mind blowing pottery pieces made for water purification, ginger bottles… just mind blowing. You were not allowed to take photos. Support this wonderful couple in their journey.

An attractive building, housing an impressive display of pottery and historic photographs of Australia's pottery industry over the last 2 centuries. Clear and clean displays over 2 levels, lots of informative cards, and an enthusiastic and involved owner who really adds to the experience. Well worth a visit!
Jenny M — Google review
Fascinating display of various pottery manufacturers in Australia starting from convict times. The many photos give an insight into the people and their work sites. Explanations of pottery making techniques, like the moulds, were helpful. Going to have a good look through grandma's cupboards searching for identification marks of Aussie potters. Some of the items on display look familiar ...
Howard E — Google review
I walked 🚶‍♀️ around here today interesting displays of Australian pottery from the European settlement through to the 1920s. With over 2000 pieces from 130 companies, the earliest being from a convict potter by the name of a Jonathan Leak. The pieces displayed are from very plain through to very detailed designed and coloured pieces. No photos are allowed to be taken once inside the building. The building itself was absolutely stunning. Opened Thursday to Tuesday, 9.30 to 4.30, and priced at $10 for adults, $25 for families.
Tanya V — Google review
An amazing museum. The stories of how the collection came together from Geoff are wonderful and really give context as to how precious this Museum is for our history. Geoff you are going to record these wonderful tales of acquisition? Classic collecting process - Notice something you are interested in at a time when pieces are largely not collected or valued highly then pursue with determination.

A superb place for any visitor interested in early Australian Pottery. This museum is vast, well presented, informative and easy to get to from the highway. Check the website for opening times, the small fee and contact details for travellers who may be going through outside of regular open days.

One would wonder why there is a submarine inland but, We had a fantastic experience at the Holbrook Submarine Museum! The picnic area was lovely, providing a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The staff at the museum were incredibly friendly and helpful, making the visit even more enjoyable. The exhibits were very well-presented and detail-oriented, showcasing the history and stories with great care. Exploring the interior of the submarine was an absolute highlight, and the hologram was both fascinating and engaging—it truly brought the experience to life. This museum is also an excellent stop on the way to Sydney, offering a chance to stretch your legs and enjoy clean, well-maintained washrooms. It’s a great combination of education, relaxation, and convenience. Highly recommend visiting this gem of a museum—it’s a wonderful way to break up a road trip and learn something new!

Two attractions are worth visiting. One is depiction of WW story through Hologram and second is the submarine control room, where you can actually use the periscope. Beside those, there are several other pieces of information. :)

What a cool place to stop at on your road trip to Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne. It’s got some truely awesome old submarines with a lot to explore as you wander the grounds. If you need a break on your road trip this is the perfect place for it, no matter if it’s for the photo op, a chance to stretch or a picnic in the park. Would love to go back and check out more of the museum portion of this exhibit however with the submarine being open all day every day, and the park too it’s an easy stop at any point on your trip.

Absolutely 💯 loved it ❤️ the kids and I loved every aspect of this ,how it is set-up in different areas but still so close , very Informative and the hologram room was "super cool" from my sons words lol

What a picturesque place to stop on your way to or from Sydney. We stopped here for lunch at the Holbrook bakery. Fantastic baked goods and delicious coffee, a must-visit for a snack. The Oberon class submarine is a fantastic place to learn about Australian and British naval history. Take a photo with the huge half-submerged submarine in the park. After this, you must visit the museum/visitors centre to take a walk through time. Stick around and watch the holographic history lesson in the centre's theatre. As of 08/03/22, the cost for an adult ticket to the museum is $7. Well worth it.

The Rock Nature Reserve - Kengal Aboriginal Place

Nature & Wildlife Areas
A great hike above the surrounding Plains, and only a 20-minute drive from Wagga. The summit hike requires a moderate level of fitness. The trail becomes more demanding toward the summit, but the views are amazing. Plenty of parking, with toilet amenities at the carpark. Take a picnic. There are many opportunities to relax and enjoy a light snack between ascent and decent.
BJ P — Google review
Fantastic hike with a unique biome. I saw a wedge tailed eagle up close and a sand Goanna! Take heaps of water in summer. Descent is steep for the harder trail. Great views. Happy hiker.

A local Jane told us about this hiking spot, that's it's the must do thing to do at The Rock town. The hike was really beautiful - views amazing. Just very rocky terrain. Wear good walking shoes and best to bring a walking stick to help with balance. There are two trials up. The ridge trail is very rocky and difficult if you are not used to that kind of hike. But we found it easy to do, just need to take your time And watch your footing. Home took us around 3 hours
Lauren L — Google review
Good track for the most part. As others have mentioned there are a couple of places where the track isn't as easy to see which way to go. The last ascent where you need to turn right has a yellow arrow but it is easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. It would benefit having a proper sign there. That is due to the track appearing to continue past it. Lot's of loose gravel particularly on the first 2km or so. Make sure you have decent footwear. Views are great and the facilities at the carpark are good with toilets and picnic area.
David N — Google review
Some great walks with stunning views. Barbecue, picnic area and toilets all clean.
Paul G — Google review
Great hike up to the top, definitely worth going to the proper summit for the views, they're incredible. Some challenging routes for experienced hikers which are lots of fun and there's a good loop you can do. Kangaroos about.
Jameel S — Google review
Fantastic hike up the mountain. Read a comment suggesting to start with Yerong track as it is mostly an easy walk to warm up before it begins to climb. Good signage as everyone has said all the way. Had great views of surrounding areas and good visibility on this summer afternoon. Wasn’t too hot as most of the way up was in tree coverage or behind the shadow of the mountain. After starting along Yugay track from the intersection you climb up again to the ridge and get more views. Only a short section required to scramble down steep rocks on the way back on Yugay track. Took under 3 hours including break time and mostly walking at an easy pace.

Lovely and peaceful environment around the lake. Walking and cycling can be done around the lake. Best place to enjoy environment in Wagga.
Rajiv T — Google review
Nice spot for a walk, 1hr 20mins / 8700 steps to do a full lap. Well maintained public facilities, parks, toilets, bbqs and play equipment surrounding the lake.
Jonathon Q — Google review
It is a great location for activities, or just relaxing by the water. There are a lot of things to do around the lake; walking track, Apex park, fitness stations, golf, fishing, and more. The lake is shallow and the water murky, but you can still enjoy sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding and you will often see water skiers racing around.
Dom K — Google review
Great place for a walk or ride around the lake. Such a shame about the algae problem it has, hopefully that issue will be corrected I miss seeing all the water activity (boats, paddle boarding and canoeing etc)
Lisa N — Google review
We rode around the whole lake. Was a good afternoon with my children and dog. There is a decent playground for the kids to enjoy near the boat ramp and gym stations along the asphalt walking track (which isn't ideal to skate/scooter on). There is a fairy garden in amoungst the trees at the far end between playground and club. Worth a walk or bike ride. Note: lake is smelly due to blue green algae
Linda D — Google review
I was there on Friday 10/06/2022, I liked it, but was a very very cold windy day. It rained twice coming off the hills to the North of the lake. Very good lake to land a small float plan on if you have the skills to fly as a pilot.

Nestled in a serene setting, Rustique Lavender Farm is a charming destination that embodies the warmth of family-run operations. While the farm no longer cultivates lavender due to the owners' age, it remains rich in history and nostalgia, with captivating stories and photographs from its vibrant past. Visitors can enjoy delightful interactions with adorable miniature horses and explore a quaint shop filled with reasonably priced lavender-themed products crafted with love.
The lady (owner) still remembers me after my first visit back to 3 years ago :) second time visit was as fabulous as it was previously. Ponies were soooo cute :) and friendly!
Hannah A — Google review
The owners are lovely, kind and love their farm. Although called the Rustique Lavender Farm the owners no longer have Lavender growing as they are elderly, although have some fabulous stories and photos of the farm in its HeyDay which sounds like it was a very warming place to visit. We got to pat the miniature horses, though couldn’t pat any lama's or alpaca’s. The lady has a lovely little shop with great well priced lavender products we got a few.

Wonderful people, simple life, pure natural hand-made products. The passion towards nature and farming keeps the family running the farm for 60 years. It's not an overly-commercialised lavender farm, but the human touch is just heart-melting.

In OK condition. It was disappointing that most plants were not labelled with their names and some gardens were full of weeds. However, there are many wonderful plants there, a zoo,, playgrounds and picnic facilities and a wonderful mini train to ride on on 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. A great place for families.
John H — Google review
Beautiful gardens to sit and enjoy the sun . We didn't see any animals . I think it's too cold for them. At 8 degrees at 1130 am. My whinge for these gardens are. The toilet lights didn't work. If I had a child go in there, it would scare them it was pitch black ⚫️ in the toilets. Luckily, I had my phone for lighting. Big slip up wagga council. It's a safety issue. Great area for kids to play. A nice walk to stretch ypur legs.

Surprisingly very entertaining. We went during the Easter Sunday event, and although it was a 2 hour wait, we all enjoyed it and was worth a whole lot more than $4 each! The train went through tunnels, and it was very long for $4. I still can't get over that it was $4 each. My kids can't stop talking about it. A big thank you to the volunteers, it was an amazing event .
