We had such an amazing experience with Mike on a half day private tour. Not only passionate & knowledgable, Mike is also so accommodating, friendly & caring. We had an early morning start and got to visit Cowie Beach at low tide, planted 2 new mangroves on the beach and tasted the green ants. Then we got to have a morning dip in Emmagen Creek & went on the Dubuji boardwalk. We learnt so much about nature, trees, insects, animals, continent formation, etc. Mike just knows everything and he is so eager to pass on the knowledge. If you want to discover Daintree Rainforest in a deeper level, Mike is the person to look for.
Jun V — Google review
We booked a half day tour to the Wujal Wujal waterfall on the Bloomfield track. Mike is a SUPER guide! His knowledge of the fauna and flora in the region is extensive. We could even talk with him about history, culture and politics. It was a interesting and Instructive day. Thanks for the journey Mike
Anke P — Google review
We did a full day 4wd tour with Mike from Cape Tribulation up through the Daintree rainforest to the Wujal Wujal waterfall. Mike is a wealth of information and showed us places that we wouldn’t have known about if we had been on our own. It is an incredibly beautiful part of the world and Mike was an amazing guide. Would highly recommend!

Embark on an exhilarating adventure in the Daintree Rainforest with Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours. This family-friendly experience offers a unique way to explore the treetops, featuring six zip lines, five tree platforms, and an innovative Human Hamster Wheel cable lift. While it may not be geared towards adrenaline junkies, it provides a safe and enjoyable journey through the lush rainforest. The knowledgeable guides add to the experience with their insights into local flora and history.
More of a family friendly adventure instead of something for an adrenaline seeker. It's all very safe and you get a good view of the tree tops. Went with a buddy that I met on the bus up to Cape Tribulation from Cairns and while it was not very exciting, at least a pleasant way to spend the morning. We went on the first slot in the morning and I would highly recommend that because it's still nice and cool and the kiddies are all still asleep. Had a good view from a few of the platforms. Facilitators were all very friendly and chatty and helped pass the time. They knew a fair bit about the jungle as well so learnt some interesting trivia facts. I went in Jul 2018.

This was a really enjoyable experience to do in FNQ. The guides were really knowledgeable and really vibed off one another with their stories and energy. They had a lot of information about the fauna and some history of the area which was enjoyable to add to the fun on the flying fox. My only critique was the gentleman at the front desk was brusque towards my dad unexpectedly at the end of the day when asking to look through photos. It was unnecessary and strange however not really a reflection on the other staff members of overall experience.
Ashley P — Google review
Fantastic day in the rainforest zip lining from tree to tree. The staff were very professional and friendly, with safety their no. 1 priority. It's a long drive, but we'll worth it as it's just so beautiful. In fact the drive was nearly as good as the jungle surfing. Only downside is that it was only 6 zip lines trips, more would justify the cost as it's not a cheap family outing.
Daim D — Google review
An andrenalin rush with stunning views! 🧚 The guides were fantastic, although it's all over very quickly and a LONG way from Cairns!🤷 We've done a lot of zip lining and ropes courses, the views on this one we're second to none, but the zips are short and going in tandem isn't the best experience.
Jess A — Google review
In terms of adrenaline rush it was too tame. Speed was quite slow. Staff were friendly and entertaining. Would have brought all the photos except some of the photos turned out blurry.
Cookiz F — Google review
Seriously Awesome! Zip lining is so much fun and with a tour from these guys, it's even more awesome. They teach you about the different parts of the Daintree rainforest and then you get to zip along through it. The guides are really knowledgeable and ours were hilarious!
Seth T — Google review
Nice crew and fun exploring the rainforest canopy. Not a massive thrill ride but fun nonetheless. The team running our experience were knowledgeable and friendly. Safety was exemplary and clearly key to the operation. Well done. 👍
David B — Google review
Fun and exciting experience. Go for the upside down rides! Fantastic guides who really knew the rainforest and helped everyone feel safe - even the youngest. We were part of a group of 13 and there was a bit of a wait before each zip line.

Ocean Safari offers an exciting half-day guided snorkeling tour to explore the pristine Great Barrier Reef off the Daintree Coast at Cape Tribulation. The tour includes visits to two different snorkel destinations, Mackay and Undine Reefs, where you can encounter a diverse array of marine life such as sea turtles, giant clams, eagle rays, starfish, and tropical fish.
The best experience you can imagine. Very professional informative and in constant contact. We were absolutely stunned how well organised these guys are. Keeping it cool and safe for everyone while making sure reef is well maintained. In particular great job Chris and Cody. Our 4 yo had a great experience too because of these guys !

We had such an amazing day out on the reef with Brandon and Charley! They really made the day easy and fun for everyone. Charley took such good care of my son as he got used to his snorkel. The snorkeling location was breath taking and we saw a myriad of fish and coral as well as a sea turtle and stingray. Everything was safe, well organised and just fantastic! Would highly recommend for all ages!
Adele V — Google review
Amazing day out on the reef with Brandon and Charlie. They really looked after us, were flexible to different abilities, took loads of photo's and had great knowledge of the reef and how to visit it with minimal impact to the ecosystem. We got the chance to swim with two turtles in their natural environment on the reef and Charlie told us how to do so safely. Getting off the boat and spending an hour on the sand was amazing! A smaller boat was much better for the kids, more fun and exciting. Highly recommend Ocean Safari Tours!
Nicola B — Google review
I’m currently on a road trip from Cape Tribulation to Melbourne and had the chance to enjoy three unforgettable snorkeling experiences: here with Ocean Safari, in the Whitsundays with Ocean Rafting, and at Lady Musgrave with Lady Musgrave Experience. All three were exceptional… but the one with Ocean Safari will forever remain the most beautiful day of my life. It was my very first snorkeling trip of this journey, and if I had known it would be the most magical experience of them all, I would have stayed right here in this little paradise and never left. A huge thank you to the team for their warm welcome, energy, and professionalism. And thank you to this magical place for giving me a memory I’ll cherish forever. 🌊🐠💙

My God! What a great trip! We were quite reserved at first, but the trip proved to be the highlight of our Australian adventure. We all loved Josh, our super handsome helsman. The reef is spectacular. This trip allowed us to see variety of sea life and we also spent some time at the little island in the middle of the reef. Loved it!
Sebastian H — Google review
We loved our trip at cape trib. Everyone was fantastic from those checking us in to Josh and Cody who provided the laughs and fun. They constantly made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable and were great with the younger kids on the boat. Play list was amazing, great vibes, heaps of coral, fish, turtles and so much more. Thanks guys and the rest of the team for such a great experience. We have been lucky enough to do a few outer reef trips and this was by far our fave
Kate M — Google review
Wonderful snorkel tour thanks to the amazing Charly and Brandon. Fun boat ride, loads of time in the water. The site is phenomenal with heaps of coral and fish, we also saw an octopus and a reef shark. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a small group tour to see the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef, you won’t regret it!
Tegan S — Google review
Had the most fantastic experience! Josh and Cody were absolutely phenomenal, professional, friendly and a killer playlist. Beautiful reef, fun vibes and the day flew by so quickly. Our boat basically had the reef to ourselves, and the team were highly attentive to everyone’s needs. Would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to experience one of the natural wonders of our world.

Campground
Noah Beach camping area, located in the Daintree National Park on Australia's northeastern coast, offers stunning views of the Coral Sea and access to nearby attractions. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour of the Chillagoe Caves, which showcase limestone formations dating back millions of years. The campground is open for most of the year but closes during the wet season and may have additional closures due to heavy rain or road conditions.
Booking online. $7.25 / person. Different size spots. Check as some spots are too small for caravans. Lovely beach. Saw 3 Lace Monitors. No cassowaries. Close to Cape Tribulation camping and souvenir shop etc.
Vanessa G — Google review
Beautiful camping spot where the rainforest meets the sea. Toilet block is clean and well kept. No bins so must take your rubbish with you. $7.45/ night - very reasonable & well worth it to maintain park costs. Must book online in advance.
Margaret P — Google review
A favourite for us. Not suitable for caravans. We had to unhitch and push our camper-trailer in as turn points can be tight (we were on site 6). Heaps of wildlife and the beach is stunning!
Rebekah L — Google review
So! We rocked up because we were confused as to how we book a site, however, we drove thru the site and noticed about 10 spots free. We read a review from this time last year that the entire site was fully booked, but they managed to stay without hassle overnight in a space. Which is what we did! We were wary and were obviously happy to move if someone were to come and claim the spot! So if you do decide to stay here with no booking, no problem! I guess people can spare to be careless and keep their reservation as a safeguard for them but putting out other travellers .. 🙄
Bert S — Google review
This campsite is an absolute dream. Having the rainforest next to the beach is quite a sight. Fishing was okay, Dart seem to come in the evenings, butmas livebaits the only got me hooked to sharks. There are many Sharks there, and not just the little ones😅 A shame that so many people don't respect the rules of these places and start fires down at the beach. Most peole aren't even able to put the fire out properly. Sand will not put out the fire!! Hope the rangers enfoce that a bit more.
David S — Google review
Beautiful separated sites amongst the rainforest and right near the beach. See the photo of the sight map to choose how close to the toilets you wish to be. Or if you want a site that everyone else walks through to get to the beach. We saw a dramatic scattered cloud sunrise on the beach followed by an impressive rainbow just before the rains hit! It was a magical rainforest experience.
Stuart T — Google review
Such an amazing place. All spot at 10m from the beach. Less than 15 spots all spread out. Clean toilets. The beach and the forest is absolutely beautiful. For the price definitely can't be it. I wouldn't be surprised if during winter they are fully booked weeks in advance. Went there in November and not a problem to book 2 days in advance.
Benjamin M — Google review
Well maintained campground and toilet. Site 7 had a nice flat tent pad but also the main beach access path running through it, so probs not the best pick if don't wanna meet all the neighbours. The sites are heaps closer together than you'd think from the map. The whole campsite is only a few hundred metres long.

Daintree Village Hotel

Pub
The Daintree Village Hotel and General Store is a charming establishment located in far north Queensland, named after the renowned geologist and photographer Richard Daintree. Originally settled by timber-cutters in the 1870s, it has evolved into a small community surrounded by stunning scenery. The Cow Bay offers a classic Aussie pub experience with delicious meals and a laid-back atmosphere. Despite its sleepy town vibe, visitors can enjoy great food at good prices while taking in live music and the beautiful surroundings.
If I had read the previous reviews I would never have gone there. As it was I had the best Parmigani I had ever had, truly, thick and juicy. Good salad and enough chips. It didn’t take long to arrive, barely minutes, I gave some to my son, he had a burger and some to my dog and was still over full. Now, it may of been the time of day, 6.30 pm but there were others being served and everyone looked happy. Let’s hope things have improved for this small country pub
Paul S — Google review
So, they claim to have the coldest beer in Daintree. And you know what? They're not lying. Perfect for washing down a plate of their chips, which, let's be honest, are the perfect pub snack. But the real MVP? Their sauces. Mate, they're homemade, and they're bloody brilliant. I'm talking flavour explosions that'll make your tastebuds do a happy dance. Great beer, great chips, and sauces that'll make you weep with joy. What more could you want?
Krish — Google review
Food was quite good here. However we are talking about $37 for a Chicken Parma, which was large and quite thick. Cooked well and tasted like any other I've had, but i dont think it's special. Definitely one of the more expensive meals on their menu. The pasta of the day was mushroom, and quite good, also quite large for $25. Chicken nuggets and chips $15. If you are in a rush, i wouldn't recommend this place. We ordered at 12:25 and got our food 50 minutes later for 3 meals. We saw plenty of people who ordered before us come up to the counter and ask about their meals. If you have time, buy a few drinks, chit chat with family and friends, then sure. We tried to be understanding, but it was still a pain. We came during the school holidays and I wouldn't say it's busy, the place half full, with two chefs in the kitchen.
Ken T — Google review
Kitchen closed at 2pm. We made it by two minutes and it was awesome. Wife and I shared a steak 🍔 burger. It was so awesome. Thin slices of steak, very tender and juicy. The salad was fresh and beetroot to top it off. You know it’s good when the juice is dripping from the burger. Real generous portion of chips. All up a great burger. Probably one of the best we have had for sometime.
Mark G — Google review
Last time, (6 years ago) this business was a dodgy looking sports bar. This time around, it has been transformed into a very pleasant, laid back hotel. Great service, good food- the parma is huge and the prices reasonable. Will return soon.
BEN S — Google review
$37 for a croc burger that had the texture of a shoe sole and some chips . For $15 you get some nuggets and some chips.
Nicolas N — Google review
Absolutely loved this place. Great service, food, music and atmosphere. Friends went the day before and recommended it. So did Whip from Cassowary Falls (amazing time). It did not disappoint. Along with the food, the music mix played was amazing. The owner Bous was generous and shared her playlist. Absolutely fantastic and recommended for everyone including those with food intolerance.
Nicole S — Google review
We were a group of 8 and a toddler and had a wonderful experience at this pub. The food was excellent quality and, amazingly, all came out at the same time. The beer was nice a cold and the atmosphere was very fitting for the location. The staff were also very friendly

The Daintree Discovery Centre is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts. It offers an interactive journey through the rainforest, featuring aerial walkways that provide a unique perspective of the diverse flora and fauna in the area. Visitors can explore the towering giant fan palms along the Daintree Fan Palm Boardwalk and gain a deeper understanding of the ecosystem with expert-guided tours at Cooper Creek Wilderness.
We stopped here on our way to Cape Tribulation. The walks through the forest were great, and the tower up in the canopy gives a great perspective. The interpretations were also fantastic, both signs and the speaker you listen to on your walk. There was also a child friendly version which our 9 year old thought was great. We enjoyed spotting fish and turtles in the creek. Staff were very friendly.
Angela M — Google review
After paying $50 for the return ferry journey to get here, the Discovey Centre were offering an interactive walk including tree top canope for over $40. Yeh?..... No thanks! If you are reading this, think twice before heading to Great Trib. We certainly won't be back. There are plenty of other places in Australia to view prestine beaches, rainforest and animal life that are free.
Aussirose T — Google review
A great place to visit. Went with a 2 year old and 7 year old. It was easy for the toddler to walk about and explore the elevated board walks without those heart stopping “they can fit through that gap” worries. Umbrellas to borrow as you go round plus lots of inside stops to check out if the rain gets too dramatic. Really recommend
Phillipa L — Google review
Incredibly informative and very well done to educate and inform. Truly enjoyed wandering and learning about the rainforest and all the species as well as the importance of the environment and the various custodians looking to protect it for generations to come.
Andrew W — Google review
We enjoyed the walk round the Daintree Discovery Centre, very informative and well laid out, roughly spent around an hour exploring. The view of the tree canopies from the top of the Skywalk is very impressive. Staff were friendly and helpful. Although, more chance of seeing a dinosaur than a Cassowary :)

🌴 5/5 Stars – Nature's Spa with a Side of Mosquitoes 🌿 I came to the Daintree Recovery Centre to "reconnect with myself" — which I thought meant yoga and smoothies. Turns out, it meant battling my inner demons and a few very determined geckos. First of all, the setting is unreal. Towering trees, chirping birds, and air so fresh it made my city lungs cry actual tears of joy. If Mother Nature had a living room, this would be it. The mosquitoes are also on the tour so bring repellant or prepare to be one with the ecosystem. Would I go back? Absolutely. I left feeling lighter, brighter, and only slightly bitten. Daintree Recovery Centre: where your soul heals and your phone signal dies (in the best way). Namaste and pass the bug spray.
Noremac R — Google review
Fun little rainforest immersive experience on the boardwalks through the discovery centre as a way to explore each level of the rainforest canopy. The tower was especially fun to walk to the top. Would be cool if you had a drone… (no signs saying otherwise 👀) Staff were lovely and amenities great. $41 per adult, $38 for students and concession card holders. (You can return in the next 7 days included in that price - but we wouldn’t as there’s not much extra to do after your initial visit). Worth the cost to keep a beautiful place open and funded. Ignore the other reviews! You get a little radio to listen to educational audio and a booklet. A great way to cater to different learning styles. Hot top- we got 10% off for staying at a local campsite the night before and asking for a map. Allow 1-1.5h to spend here. Definitely worth do in even if raining that day, they have courtesy umberellas to borrow if you don’t have a rain jacket.
Margaret P — Google review
Fantastic way to see the Daintree. Cost of entry covers a self guided tour through the forest with narrated information on individual handheld speakers. Tree top walkways and viewing tower allow a great view of all levels of the rainforest. Took around 1.5 hrs at a very leasurly pace to walk the trails.

The Port Douglas Markets, established for almost 25 years, are a must-visit for both locals and tourists. Located at the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina on Sundays and Wednesday evenings, these markets offer an array of locally made goods including fresh produce like sugar cane juice and coconuts, as well as fashion, jewelry, art, music, and more. The waterfront setting overlooking luxury yachts adds to the charm of this market experience.
Nice to see a proper market with everything from fresh fruit to trinkets jewellery and clothes. Alsorts in between local arts and crafts

A good sized market on flat ground right on the waterfront. Great fresh veggies as well as amazing artwork and creative ideas, many very unique and original of high quality. Easy nearby, on street parking.

A Perfect Sunday in Port Douglas If you are in Port Douglas on a Sunday, the farmers market is the place to be. It has such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and it really captures the charm of the town. The location could not be better. The market is set right by the water, so while you wander through the stalls you get beautiful views of the ocean and palm trees swaying in the breeze. It feels tropical and laid back, exactly what you would hope for in Far North Queensland. The variety of stalls is fantastic. There are plenty of local farmers selling fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs straight from their gardens. The tropical fruit is incredible and so much fresher than what you usually find in shops. Alongside the produce there are stalls with handmade crafts, clothes, artwork, skincare and all sorts of unique gifts. It is the kind of market where you find something different every time you go. One of the highlights is the food. You can grab a fresh juice, taste local coffee, or enjoy a snack while listening to street performers. It is easy to spend a couple of hours just eating, shopping and soaking up the vibe. The people make it even better. Both stallholders and visitors are friendly and chatty, and you can tell there is a real sense of community. It does not feel touristy in a forced way, more like an authentic gathering of locals that welcomes visitors to join in. After the market it is only a short walk to the main street or down to Four Mile Beach, so you can easily turn it into a full day out. Overall the Port Douglas Sunday Market is a must if you are anywhere nearby. It combines the best of local food, art and atmosphere in a stunning waterfront setting. Spending a Sunday morning here is the perfect way to experience the spirit of Port Douglas.

Lots of local natural products from soap, candles, creams and lotions to choose from. A few food and drink vendors available. Large array of silver and mixed jewellery with a focus on local gems and opals. Solid assortment of clothes and baby clothes

Excellent local market mainly for arts and crafts rather than produce.

A weekly treat for the locals and visitors alike. Lots of variety, much of it useful in daily life. Nice snacks, treats, drinks, clothes, hats, jewellery, etc … usual fare, but with a relaxing atmosphere. Most of the walking is under the shade of the huge trees in the park. Decent sized markets. And just behind the park, the beautiful tropical waters of the Coral Sea.
John S — Google review
Had a great day out at the markets in Port Douglas and we had lunch at Rattle and Hum in the main drag. Busy place we enjoyed the day and will be back again if we can get into the caravan park it's really booked out most of the year.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
St. Mary's by the Sea is a charming non-denominational chapel located within Anzac Park in Port Douglas. The church, built in 1911, offers picturesque views of the Coral Sea and distant rainforest mountains through its enormous altar window, making it a popular venue for weddings. Approximately 200 weddings are hosted here annually, with many couples opting for open-air ceremonies amidst the tropical scenery.
We made a special stop at the picturesque Chapel by the Sea in Port Douglas after seeing it featured in the TV series Irreverent, and it absolutely lived up to expectations. The setting is stunning — with the charming little chapel framed by palm trees and the ocean stretching out behind it, it really felt like we had stepped into a scene from the show. While it was a bit of a novelty visit, it ended up being a genuinely enjoyable and peaceful stop. The combination of location, scenery, and that familiar backdrop made it one of those unexpected highlights of the trip. Definitely worth a visit, especially for fans of the series or anyone looking for a beautiful photo opportunity.

Absolutely beautiful. Attended a wedding and it was quaint and cosy and beautiful. Grounds around are very well kept, view out the main window adds an extra personality. On a hot day it would cook, but there's a little speaker system, and the inside looked recently painted - very crispy and clean white which elevated it

Gorgeous church & setting💙💚we always visit ❤️ when we visit Port Douglas ❤️today we met a bridal party getting married tomorrow 👌

A beautiful heritage listed historical church near the centre of town and beach. Originally built in 1880 and rebuilt after a cyclone in 1911. Relocated to this site in 1988 and restored soon after. Non denominational with community worship every Sunday at 11am.

A very quaint Church used for weddings and other gatherings. The exterior is very idyllic with palms shading manicured lawns. The interior was cleaned for an upcoming wedding ceremony. While I took photos a couple came by and said they had their wedding right there 25 years earlier and nothing's changed.

Beautiful Quaint little church right on the beach in Port Douglas. Absolutely amazing view when you walk into the church and the front window opens in you can see the ocean the whole time while the wedding is happening. Amazing priest with a great sense of humor.

Beautiful little church. Right by the beach and park. If you visit Port Douglas then take the time to visit this lovely little church

A quaint church which is great for weddings or gatherings. The church is beautifully lit at night, with palm trees and a pristine lawn all around. Close to the small sandy beach area and pier.

Four Mile Beach

Mentioned on

Beach
Nature & Parks
Four Mile Beach is a stunning coastal area with a wide expanse of white sand and lush rainforests. The beach offers a patrolled swimming area with sun loungers for hire, making it perfect for a relaxing day by the sea. However, visitors should be cautious of potential dangers such as saltwater crocodiles and marine stingers. On clear days, the beach is magnificent to stroll along its full length of four miles.
Absolutely loved the views out over 4 Mile Beach from Trinity Beach Lookout. Such a lovely beach to stroll along and a great netted off area to swim with lifeguards on patrol.

Really nice beach to have a wander down. It's not the perfect golden sand and crystal blue water that looks so picturesque...but, it's still a really nice place for a stroll in the sun. We were warned not to swim due to the salt water crocodiles! There is a controlled swimming area closer to the town though and you can walk all the way down there, from the resorts further down.
Chris A — Google review
Beautiful beach. We went swimming in between the nets, the water was super beautiful and WARM. Unfortunately they had the net in the area of water that had a lot of sea weed in it and they were all over and so so so gross to touch. We took the drone up and noticed that was the ONLY area of the beach with seaweed in it, why wouldn't they move the nets? So weird but we had fun! Dangers: Saltwater crocodiles, marine stingers, touching a sea-plant with your body.
Michell L — Google review
One of the most amazing beaches I've ever been to. Depending on the tide, you can walk out 100m+ into the ocean. Just keep an eye out for Crocs! (Not a joke!)
Matthew Y — Google review
Amazing beach to wander along at low tide and walk on the sand bars and explore and find star fish and other small critters and shells
Russell K — Google review
Nice beach. No surf due to Barrier Reef. Good for walking, but be careful. If fishing, please don't leave dead fish or fish guts around. Swim at your own risk due to Araki jellyfish and salt water crocs. These crocs may lurk near the water's edge at times. During the tourist season, there may be a safe swimming netted area; haven't been able to confirm. Be careful, and don't get sunburnt!
John P — Google review
My goodness, it was the best coastline I have ever seen! The sand is soo white and the water is soo calm! I really have to go back here!

Wildlife Habitat is an interactive zoo where visitors can have guided encounters with a variety of Australian wildlife, including koalas, kangaroos, birds, and reptiles. The friendly staff offers regular talks and presentations throughout the day, featuring highlights such as reptile presentations and crocodile feeding. Visitors are encouraged to interact with the animals through activities like feeding and patting.
A well laid out tropical zoo. Lots of opportunities to get up close to the wildlife. Lots of different animals to check on, and you can buy packets of food to get the inmates excited. The staff have excellent knowledge and are happy to answer questions or to tell a tale or two. A great kiosk and gift shop. Plenty of parking. It wasn't very busy on our Sunday visit.
Greg S — Google review
Overall a very positive experience. We did the breakfast with the birds and it was very good, the food was decent enough quality and there was plenty of it. The facility itself is good, but could use a bit of a facelift, some parts looked a bit old. The birds are very beautiful and the aviaries are very nicely laid out. The highlight was hand feeding the kangaroos. You can freely feed and pet the kangaroos. This experience moved this review from a 3 to a 4. Definitely a highlight. Buy kangaroo food on the way in!! The negative, The keepers giving the talks about the animals were not Australian. This detracted from the experience. I would rather have Australian people teaching about Australian animals. Compare this to Hartleys where the staff are very Australian and it added to the experience.
Seth R — Google review
Great insights into local wildlife...including the amazing Cassowary! Cute Koalas, wide variety of birds. Unfortunately no crocodiles on view, but we may have missed our chance. Well set out and maintained. Helpful front desk and canteen staff. A worthwhile visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast with the birds experience! This is such a wonderful and unique experience. Getting to meet Elvis and Nico was an absolute highlight of the morning. We also got to meet the koalas and had an opportunity to take photos and learn about the animals in a relaxed environment. The breakfast was substantial with free flowing juice, tea, and coffee as well as a beautifully presented breakfast platter complete with crepes, eggs, bacon, toast, and more! We also enjoyed wandering around the rest of the park and thought there was excellent value in the talks and presentations throughout the morning.

What a lovely afternoon. We decided to visit this afternoon. It is a small sanctuary, relaxed and the staff are lovely. We were lucky enough see the pelican talk which was perfect, fed kangaroos, saw lots and lots of different birds and got up and close with the cutest baby koala. A beautiful afternoon with my son ❤️
Megan S — Google review
Lovely sanctuary that helps animals rehabilitate in their own natural habitat. No cages, animals are free to fly and roam. Kid friendly with cafe and feed the kangaroos. Animals have people free spaces if they don't feel like interacting which is great. I don't support zoo's but definitely highly recommend this place that help wildlife in need. You really get up close and personal with the animals.

A great family friendly wild life park to visit, alot smaller than Australia zoo but had great features like eating breakfast with the birds, the birds are so friendly. We did the swim with the salties, even though you are on the other side of the glass being that close to 500kg / 4.5 mtr long crocodile at feeding time was unreal. The power of those jaws. Recommended if in Port Douglas.

We love visiting! We have done the breakfast with the birds twice now! The kids absolutely loved interacting with the birds and feeding the kangaroos! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. My 9 year old especially liked Elvis the black cockatoo and Mitch the pink cockatoo 😊 we also liked learning about the Cassowarys! We would highly recommend going if you get the chance!

Hartley's Crocodile Adventures

Nature & Parks
Zoo
Animal attraction featuring crocodile & reptile shows, guided tours & views of koalas & kangaroos.
We went witj a family of 7 and had a wonderful time, we arrived at 9am and left around 3pm. Snake Show, Croc Feeding and Croc river boats were amazing. Highly recommend; is a long day though if you want to see all the exhibits. Sad the Cassowary Walk was closed for refurbishment but obviously necessary. A shout out in particular to the head keeper of the crocodiles, he took our riverboat and was very informed and entertaining. He also participated in the Croc feeding and was amazing watching him lead so calmly.
Kellie — Google review
Hartley’s Crocodile Farm is such a fun day out, something we always recommend to travelers visiting Cairns or Australia. The whole park is very relaxed for you to wonder around at your own pace. Wear comfortable shoes and I highly recommend a hat and some water. The heat can get stifling under the shade sails during the shows just due to the lack of airflow so be aware of that if going on a warm day with kids or older members. That said, you can easily spend the whole day here exploring with a number of great shows to watch as well as the included boat ride around the lagoon. Our fave though is always the 3 pm Croc Attack Show… definitely must see! If you can stick around then it’s so worth it! The café is surprisingly good too, with a solid range of both hot or fresh food options at I’d say reasonably fair prices for an attraction park like this. My only gripe with Hartleys and the reason for four stars instead of five… is the constant state of the bathrooms. I have been coming here for 8yrs now and sadly they’re consistently gross, which is a shame because the rest of the park is so well looked after. I understand it’s busy but sending someone to clean frequently would honestly go so far. Still, it’s a fantastic experience overall. As our Texan friends recently put it… It’s a great way to see a lot of Australias animals close up in one place in one day!
Jess R — Google review
I have never come across such beautiful staff in my life. From the vibrant lady at reception desk, to the entertaining boat guys, the enthusiastic croc rangers, the funny photographers, Amy the ranger aswell. All staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. They all have lovely personalities and very sweet. I noticed how comfortable they made everyone feel around us. So proud of you all. Thank YOU ALL! ♥️
MG P — Google review
Great experience with a lot of things to see. Not only crocs, but also snakes, koalas and a lot more! Loved the snake and croc shows. Super crowded on school holidays. 6 sits in a row on the boat, so if you are placed last you are likely to be far away from the action behind people trying to film. Expect queues everywhere and maybe skip one with BYO lunch.
Jim K — Google review
Our visit to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures was one of the highlights of our trip to Tropical North Queensland! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how well-organized the park was and how passionate the staff were about the animals and conservation. The boat cruise on Hartley’s Lagoon was absolutely amazing — getting so close to huge saltwater crocodiles in their natural habitat was both thrilling and fascinating! The guides were knowledgeable and entertaining, sharing lots of interesting facts about crocodile behavior and how the park helps with conservation efforts. We also loved the various wildlife shows throughout the day — especially the croc feeding and snake presentation. Each one was engaging, informative, and fun for all ages. It was great to see how well the animals are cared for and how much the staff clearly love what they do. All in all, Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures is a must-visit attraction for anyone visiting Cairns or Port Douglas. It’s the perfect mix of excitement, education, and authentic Australian wildlife encounters. We left with big smiles, great photos, and a new appreciation for these incredible creatures!

Harley’s Croc Adv was out of this world. One of the most amazing and exciting places we’ve visited as a family. The shows are so amazing and a must do for all kids as well. It teaches you so much. And guys who do the show are Brady and informative as well. In face I strongly believe it should be a must do for all kids. If you’re in Australia you must visit this place.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly Recommend! Great staff and an awesome experience! Such good value for money at around $49 per person — we had an amazing day. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. There were lots of crocodiles and plenty of other things to see. We really enjoyed our time and would highly recommend this tour if you’re visiting Cairns. A great, cheap, fun day out!
Katia M — Google review
Because I care about animals, I wouldn’t go to a zoo, but this animal park gives its animals plenty of space to walk around freely, and they also keep protected species. At first, I was a little put off because it felt like the park was mainly designed for families and children—but maybe we just visited on a busy day. You can easily spend half a day here and see and learn about so many animals. And I don’t just mean crocodiles, although the crocodile feeding was spectacular. I actually enjoyed simply walking around at my own pace even more, because it gave me the chance to see many Australian animals up close. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The only downside was the food—it looked sloppy and unhealthy. Considering the quality and quantity of the experience, I found the entrance fee was quite reasonable!

The Gatz Balancing Rocks

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Amazing and relaxing spot! If the day is allowing please stop here with care! Vibes are sublime and you have plenty of rocks to balance your own project or continue someone’s! It’s very meditative specially hearing the splash of the water covering almost completely the noises from the cars passing by! Stop here with care since there is no signs, there’s no paved parking and it could be dangerous! Please reduce your speed and if stopping try to do so on your way from Port Douglas to Palm Cove as you’ll be able to easily stop to your left without having to risk it crossing the road.
Luis D — Google review
Wow, a very unexpected find. Driving through from Palm Cove to Port Douglas, when we noticed these rocks. A beach area where all the rocks have been stacked, makes for some very interesting photos. I highly recommend pulling over for a look if your driving past.

The Gatz Balacing Rocks Visited on 18/7/2022 If you have a spare hour or so, take a drive on the Captain Cook Highway, along the coast from Palm Cove, pass Ellis Beach, to this tourist spot and try stacking up some rocks, and balaacing them. No, I do not big rocks, and yet they are reasonably heavy for some young children to lift. This is a place for families with children to enjoy some quality time. It is road side parking, so be careful with traffic travelling fast on the highway. There is no well made path to get down from the road level to the beach. Do take your time so that you do not slip. There is nothing that catches my eyes for specific mention. The sea is not that rough, but the temperature of the water is too cold for anyone to go for a dip.
Sin C — Google review
Lovely views like all along the Great Barrier Reef drive plus a couple of stacked up rocks, come and make your own pile as well ;)

Fun place to build a rock tower, feel the sand between your toes and look out over the ocean. Just be very careful trying to turn in, as it is on the main highway and there is no turning bay.

Beautiful beach at Palm Cove. Cleanliness is next level. Plenty of beachside bbq’s that are cleaned daily. Swim within the flags though as the area warns of stingers and crocodiles 🐊 🪼 The Esplanade shopping strip has wonderful restaurants to choose from. Weather was perfect, absolute paradise!

Lovely venue and Coffee was great! Food used to be good here back in the day. But the food portions now are too small, and the quality has dropped for the price you pay. Small basket of 12 chips exactly, tiny salad, burger bun and cheese are highly processed and pulled beef inside was cold. 3 Meals for $75 and indigestion afterwards...

Great quiet atmosphere where you don't have the loudness of crowds. I ordered the Greek salad with haloumi, along with the cinnamon mocha Iced coffee. Was yummy 😋 and all I could fault was that the size of the Iced mocha was not worth $9, as it is served in a small glass. But that could be a bit petty on my part as it too was delicious. Service was terrific with the young Lady allowing me to watch the Movie without the $27 deal as that involves a tasting plate of coffees including liqueurs that I don't drink. They should really allow the Movie free of charge for those who dine in as an incentive as I was so encouraged to support the Jacques family in their shop to buy coffee afterwards, because of the Movie. This was well put together too guys. From a giggle to some tears and left with a smile from the family's endurance and tenacity to NEVER give up the dream. Well Done! Very inspirational.

The park offers camping and caravanning facilities, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the Australian wilderness. It's home to tame rock wallabies that can be fed with purchased food. The area is abundant with wildlife including wallabies, possums, and various bird species.
The praises cannot be higher! It is an amazing place to visit, unforgettable experiences. Beautiful place and kind and relaxed staff. The animals are all well cared for and the Rock wallabies are amazing! The tracks are super fun. You could spend so much time here just relaxed and looking at the birds and breathtaking Nature! Only did a day pass for $15 for adults to feed the wallaby’s and do the hikes. We did both the easy & the challenging red hike. Both hikes were good but the best was the challenging one. Definitely have appropriate footwear on. Had a great couple of hours and would highly recommend

I regret coming here. I was in shock to see birds in small cages, with no space to fly and little stimulation for them to exist. The place is beautiful, and we spotted some rock Wallabies, so that was cool, but I feel it is unethical to have birds in such a small enclosure. The place has so much potential to be great, it is beautiful by itself and does not need captive birds! I regret visiting it, hopefully my review helps prevent others from supporting a business that keeps birds in such bad condition.
Diana R — Google review
Disappointed by our day visit to Granite Gorge Nature Park. The place is quite pretty, but not breathtaking, and the entrance fee is $15 per adult just for a 1.5 km walk. Even taking our time, we didn’t spend more than 1.5 hours in the park, which makes it quite expensive for what it is. We only saw three wallabies and no turtles, but that’s part of the game and not really the main issue. The animals are completely domesticated, far from the wild and natural experience you might expect. Birds and reptiles were kept in cages, which doesn’t align with our values either. The only positive point was the kindness of the receptionist when we arrived.
Ann-Aël D — Google review
We arrived and asked the lady if we could view the map to see what was on offer for the $15 per person they charge.. she told us No! And said she would walk us into the deck to point out where we hold go and what’s available- then there’s the poor birds geeze.. very sad, kept in small cages with nothing but a stick or two to stand on, then over in the cocky cages those poor buggers are in there 24/7 they can’t fly and again just a stick or two to stand on, only seed and water no fresh foods - you’d think charging $15 a hit she could afford to care for the animals better then she does, very disappointing and not supporting someone who doesn’t care for animals and is only in it to make a dollar
Amanda T — Google review
Went for the walk around the nature park - spectacular rocks and pools, cute wallabies eager to be fed, rumours of turtles. Path was a little hard to follow in some places and a few of the concrete steps bolted into some of the step rock sections have come adrift. Allow at least an hour for the short walk. $15 per adult. Worth the trip if you are in the area

I gave this a 5 as I really enjoyed our afternoon there. It's a very cool landscape and we enjoyed the boulder hopping. My son loved holding the python. There's a spot to swim in the weir. We didn't camp but facilities looked fine. I'd happily of stayed a couple of nights in my camper.

Despite the gorge being naturally beautiful, it was not worth the money. They have many birds in small cages with nothing but a couple sticks to stand on. I have worked in animals rescue and we would never keep birds in conditions like this. They have no form of stimulation at all and have no room to freely fly. They clearly don’t have much care for the animals happiness and it was extremely disappointing. It doesn’t matter if birds are “bred in captivity”, that is no excuse for the size of the cages. I would not recommend supporting a place that treats their animals like this.

Coffee roasters
Nestled at 136 Mason Street, Coffee Works is a unique destination that proudly combines a roastery and chocolaterie. This establishment celebrates the rich coffee-growing heritage of the Mareeba area, offering four distinct local coffees for visitors to savor. The venue opens its doors daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, inviting guests to indulge in gourmet chocolates and house-roasted coffee within an expansive industrial-chic space.
Coffee Works in Mareeba is a must-visit spot for coffee and chocolate lovers! We sampled their coffee liqueur—so smooth and delicious that we ended up buying a bottle. They also have a huge variety of chocolates and interesting gift displays throughout the shop. The atmosphere is cozy and fun, and there's even a small museum at the back showcasing the history of coffee and chocolate, complete with vintage tools and machines. A unique and enjoyable stop in the Atherton Tablelands. Tips for visiting: Don’t miss the liqueur tasting—it’s worth it! Great place to shop for souvenirs and local treats. Set aside extra time to explore the mini museum.

A lovely oasis in the backstreets of Mareeba. Good coffee and cakes with a small brekky/lunch menu from the resident food truck. The ambience is fantastic in the lovely courtyard dining area and the gift shop has some amazing handmade local offerings. Definitely worth a visit.

This is a MUST when visiting the Tablelands. Great coffee and food, relaxing atmosphere, loads of interesting products, to-die-for chocolate! If you lack spending self-control, DON'T COME HERE 😂.

Coffee is awesome, so many favours and brilliant chocolate maker on site amongst a warehouse full of clothes, liquors, and household gift...a must stop when visiting Mareeba.
Shona E — Google review
What a gem in Mareeba. I had a beautiful mocha (dark, white or milk choc choices available) and the loveliest Korean chicken burger. Then I spent a good 15 min browsing the merchandise in the shop.

Funky, full of interesting local foods and produce, great coffee and lovely atmosphere. An excellent place to take friends, buy local souvenirs and relax over lunch or coffee. A great affogato! Plenty of parking. Prices really good - my affogato was $9.50 and freshly baked cake and scones around $6-$8. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Outdoor seating is plentiful.
Terrylea R — Google review
I heard such great things about this place from my aunty who lives locally and has been visiting regularly for the past decade or so and disappointing is an understatement. Went for breakfast and the food truck menu meant we had to have food in takeaway containers - very wasteful and unnecessary when it’s right next to the kitchen with plates and cutlery for the cakes. Unfortunately I have a real sensitivity to onion so the salsa on the avo toast special was unexpected and left a bad taste in my mouth even though I had scraped it off the soggy bread it wasn’t as appalling as the service. The server in the food truck seemed like they didn’t want to be there and the team all gossiping behind the counters didn’t come out and clear any of the tables until they saw their friends come in, but it was going into the gift shop to get something for my partner when things got worse. A staff member who also seemed inconvenienced to be working in the store later served us and was blunt and rude to my aunty (she was nice to me when I was on my own but perhaps because I’m foreign) The coffee was nice, but the vibes were way off. Would recommend buying coffee from there but not enduring the staff longer than you have to
Sam K — Google review
I’ve stopped here a few times on my early morning ride and always amazed they’re open early on a Sunday. Very pleasant staff and they make a nice strong, rich and smooth cappuccino for me. Gives me the extra oomph to get home on the bike. The price of coffee has gone up everywhere, but the price of everything has, so it’s no surprise I guess!

The Mareeba Heritage Museum and Visitor Information Centre, situated at 345 Byrnes Street, is a modern establishment that opened in 1995. It houses a diverse range of exhibits that delve into the town's rich history. Visitors can explore sections dedicated to mining, early settlers, explorers, the town's involvement in World War I, and an extensive collection of local Aboriginal artifacts.
Went to information centre to get what to see in area ended up spending several hours looking through the museum. Lots to look at and great interaction for kids. Would definitely recommend a visit. Museum free!

We found the Museum to be a delightful surprise. The entry tickets were inexpensive. There is a nice gift store at the entry. Once you walk through the grounds, there is alot to discover. It was very interesting, the exhibits and displays were special, so authentic. Like goibg back in time, and learning all the stories about the early settlers and migrants who came to the area. How tough the conditions were, how they lived, farmed, built communities, supported the war effort and so on. Just wonderful. The cafe serves a very tasty lunch. I recommend it.

A gem of a community museum which we came across by chance. There are exhibits about the life and crafts of settlers and aboriginals in days gone by. There’s an old railway carriage and a rail ambulance. An old wooden house has been moved here and lovingly restored.

We recently visited the museum and had some snacks in the cafe out the back. The museum is wonderful. So much history there and something really cool-was the option to scan a code on my phone which enabled me to select different exhibits from the list and an audio played that explained the exhibit & its’ relevance. A cool old train and other equipment out the back, all exhibits have been carefully created & it’s obvious that a lot of time and effort has gone into each one. Lovely people to greet us & explain the ins & outs. It cost $5pp entry (non-locals) and was definitely worth it. I highly recommend visiting.

What a truly great experience the staff new there stuff the artefacts were very interesting. The crocodiles ! Wow there was one huge crocodile there was heaps of information about each one. it was horrible. they had a sea turtle in a SMALL SWIMMING POOL. the air was very smoky and the animal enclosures were tiny and depressing. poor animals. 0/10 do not recommend giving them money because they don't deserve it!
Lily — Google review
Very disappointing experience. Admission was $30 per adult, and it honestly wasn’t worth it. There were just a few small fish tanks — you’d see a better setup at a decent aquarium store. There was one sea turtle in ankle-deep water, which was really upsetting to see, and the crocodiles were huge but kept in tiny enclosures, some with barely enough water to cover them. It took us less than 10 minutes to walk through everything, and we left feeling really sad. The place looked poorly maintained, dark, and depressing, with no natural sunlight reaching the animals. The only staff member we saw was in the gift shop taking our money, and there was no one around checking on or engaging with the animals. Overall, it felt more like neglect than education. Definitely don’t waste your money — go somewhere that genuinely cares about the welfare of its animals.

I cannot speak more highly of this park. We came here during our honeymoon and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Not only did we learn soooo much about these amazing animals, but we captured some great pics and videos of these guys in full action! Josh, one of the crocodile habitat carers, was fantastic and shared so many stories of the crocs and put on an awesome show! I could keep going on and on, but the fact is this park is a MUST SEE and is sure to make your trip extra special!!!!

Free, huge and very fun playground - it has three sections and has a bit of everything for everybody, even for the mum and dad and the grandparents, as it has a cafe in the middle. The entire playground was very well shaded, making it very pleasant during hot Summer days. Our kids had a blast in the water play area.

She recreated the design I requested as closely as possible, and her skill level is truly impressive. The overall quality of the nail art was also very high. I know it takes real technique to apply gel evenly without making it too thick — and she did it perfectly. If you want to get your nails done here, I definitely recommend making a reservation first.

Wow! I also have a bunch of waxing done which was much less painful than usual and very thorough removal! Also I had eyebrow and eyelash tint and lash lift, it was the best I have ever had, Emi really listen to what I asked for achieving the best eyebrow colour and my lash lift is so perfect and lashes are spaced out beautifully! I'm so happy with the finished results and feel like a whole new freshed woman. Not to mention that both the ladies were so friendly and fun to talk with! Cairns Esplanade Lagoon is a man-made saltwater pool located in the heart of Cairns' CBD, offering a safe and jellyfish-free swimming experience. Spanning 4800 square meters, it features different areas for various activities such as lap swimming and family fun. Lifeguards patrol the lagoon during opening hours, ensuring safety for all visitors. The adjacent foreshore boardwalk provides picnic spots, birdwatching areas, free barbecues, and fitness equipment.
Free public pool in the middle of the city centre, with a view of the coastline. The pool varies in depth so perfect for toddlers and kids, and then up to all ages. Goes up to 1.55m which was nice if you’re coming with family or a group of people. The water is warm so that’s also a perk. There’s a few lifeguards around as well, but obviously they’re not babysitters so make sure to look after your own kids for everyone’s safety.

I visited on a Sunday, and the place was lively with people of all ages, from small children to elderly couples. By around 1pm, more and more people had arrived to sunbathe, and it got to the point where there were hardly any spots left to sit. Still, the pool itself wasn’t too crowded, and it was a very comfortable and relaxing experience overall.🏊‍♂️ While sitting by the pool and chatting with a friend, we noticed an older man across from us staring in our direction for nearly an hour. As we were getting ready to leave, he suddenly approached and said he was going to teach us how to swim. We politely declined, saying we had to go, and he walked away. To be honest, it didn’t leave a very good impression, and I would suggest being cautious if someone like that approaches you. It seemed like he was specifically targeting people who looked like tourists. Frankly, it felt like he may have had other intentions, possibly just wanting to touch someone. Other than that, there were no real issues with the place. Some people say public pools can have an unpleasant smell, but I didn’t notice any urine smell at all The depth of the water goes up to 1.55m in the deeper areas, so you can comfortably submerge up to your neck, which made it even more enjoyable.

Big Cat Green Island Reef Cruises offers an unforgettable experience to explore the Great Barrier Reef. Located just 27km offshore from Cairns, Green Island is a stunning coral cay within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park World Heritage Area. Visitors can enjoy pristine white-sand beaches, lush rainforest, and crystal blue waters. The cruises provide opportunities for snorkeling, fish feeding from a glass-bottomed boat, and even offer options for families with young children.
Most amazing time with big cat green Island cruise & team. The team are outstanding, happy to help & go out of their way to make you feel included. The cruise is a full day we had a family of 6 & a infant, everyone was full from the buffet lunch & everything was beautifully timed. I would recommend bringing something for shade & something to snack on if you don't have a good breakfast before hand.
Janice G — Google review
I loved every second of it. The Great Barrier Reef has been on my bucket list for a long time, and I finally got the chance to come to Cairns to see it. I was told scuba diving on the outer reef was the best to do, but most tours required a scuba licence or gave a lot of training time and little scuba time. This tour offered the outer reef with a marine biologist whilst still snorkelling as an additional option. We were blessed with good weather and calm waters on this day. It was awesome. As a beginner snorkeller, this tour was perfect. I gained confidence in the morning snorkelling in shallow waters and seeing beautiful fish and some colour. Then, I went out to the outer reef with the biologist in the afternoon, and I was blown away with what I saw and learned. It was stunning and a real experience of the reef. In my opinion, the time was just enough as a new reef explorer. 1 hour is quite a while snorkelling in deep water if you're not used to it. I would love to do it again, though! Also, by hanging on the pier after the last session, I saw 4 turtles, 3 black tipped sharks, and jumping fish! That was a reel bonus. I don't know if that's common, but the opportunity to catch something swimming by in crystal clear water is there as well. The buffet was awesome to boot. I highly recommend the tour. There are hidden markets and a beautiful walk on the island too that are part of the resort, I think. And Green Island itself? It is an absolute gem. A natural beauty that I'm so glad to have visited and explored.

I recently did a day tour to Green Island with Big Cat Green Island Reef Cruises, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The staff were friendly, professional and full of helpful information about the reef and the local wildlife. I particularly enjoyed Anzac's marine biology talks on the way to Green Island and back. The boat was comfortable and well-maintained, making the trip smooth and enjoyable. When we got to the island, the staff assisted us onto the glass bottom boat and submarine, both with unforgettable views of the fish, turtles and reef. Once on Green Island, the scenery was breathtaking. The tropical rainforest is breathtaking. There was plenty to do. Overall, this tour exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Cairns who wants a memorable day exploring the Green Barrier Reef and Green Island!

We took the half day tour and it was perfect for my family. We picked from a mix of glass bottom tour, semi sub, and snorkeling. For beginners, a half day gives you enough time to snorkel at both beaches on Green Island + the semi sub. Alternatively, you can do the glass bottom boat + semi sub if you’d rather not swim. We saw turtles, sting rays, and hundreds of fish on the semi-sub; saw fewer fish with snorkeling. Thanks for a great day!

My wife and I had a great time with the crew visiting Green Island. Highly recommend the full day tour with snorkeling of the reefs, the glass boat and adventuring around the island. Crew on board were friendly and knowledge and helped us feel safe.

We booked the full day Green Island Tour and had a fantastic time snorkelling. No shortage of turtles and we were even lucky enough to see whales. The professional young team on the boat went out of their way to make the experience enjoyable for everyone. Although the vessel is on the older side, the amenities, including toilets, were spotless. The bar also has reasonably priced drinks, such as Corona beer, for $9 per bottle. Drinking water is free which is an added bonus.
Ben — Google review
The crew were awesome. We did go on a day when it was quite windy but if you sit down and enjoy the ride it’s nice. We were given our snorkelling gear when we got on the boat so we had to hang on to them the whole time. Next time we will get our gear when we get to the island. The buffet lunch was a good feed just b4 our snorkelling adventure.

The serene waters of the dam offer opportunities for swimming, water skiing, and jet skiing. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the dam from both above and below while also exploring nearby campgrounds and day use areas. An absolutely beautiful and peaceful place! View the dam from above or below. The dam was almost overflowing when we visited. Many pleasant picnic spots. Drive on about 10 mins past the dam for lovely campgrounds and day use areas. Highly recommended!!!

It's a nice place to visit for a couple of minutes, not much to do once you've had look at the dam and walked around parts of the lake edge.

Beautiful location. The entire area is perfect and tranquil. The falls are amazing when they open the gates. The lake is great for catching bara and swimming. It's also a photographer's dream.

Spent a Monday afternoon there on a work Christmas Party - so much fun we pretty much had the whole lake to ourselves! Beautiful sunset and loved playing the boat, Jet Ski and biscuit!

Nature & Parks
Fitzroy Island National Park is a hidden gem that offers an unforgettable escape into nature. This remote paradise boasts diverse wildlife, scenic walking trails, and stunning lookouts, making it perfect for adventurers and families alike. During my recent visit with my kids—ages 5 months, 5 years, and 8 years—I was eager to relive the cherished memories of my childhood spent here. We booked a day trip through Fitzroy Island Resort for its convenient ferry options.
Amazing! The snorkeling 🤿 was beautiful. Not as "Reefey" as I hoped, but still magical! some nice shallow parts by the rocks to the left of nudey beach - Saw some turtles there!

Wonderful break away from mainstream worries. It's not a perfect Tropical Island Retreat but nice and laid back. Needs some tweaking like an ice machine and a wider range of food options. (2 burgers cost us $57) Staff are great. Snorkeling is good over the coral reefs. Only 40 minutes from Cairns. Bush walks are a bit more difficult than rated. Overall, good value stay

Beautiful island which I’ve spent a bit of time filming on. Snorkelling is great, the coral restoration work they do with the coral trees is essential and important work as well as the turtle rescue. A must visit when you’re in the Cairns area

Beautiful piece of paradise. They way the island beach faces the north sun, whilst the island shelters the beach from the southerlies, is just perfect. A1 snorkeling over amazing corals and fish species. Turtles cruising by in the bay.

Great island to be explored and close to cairns. It takes you about 50 min to get over by speed boat. You can snorkel and hike and the island has quite of a variety of Flora and fauna. Walk up to the light house is very steep and slippery when wet.

We booked a day trip to Fitzroy Island through the Fitzroy Island resort as there is more ferry times and options than the tourist day trips operators. We had a great day exploring Nudey Beach, snorkelling the massive walls of coral having luck at Foxys and just absorbing the pure beauty of the island. Absolutely worth the day trip !! We saw a whale and her calf on the way back and the ferry slowed so we could see them and not disturb them, it was an amazing experience and wonderful end to our day.

A nice 45 minute ferry ride from Cairns. The friendliest staff and a very relaxed island to just relax. You can literally snorkel with Turtle's straight of the beach. And the summit walk is awesome. And don't forget to book a tour at the turtle Rehabilitation centre.
Neil B — Google review
Very good if the weather's on your side. The hike to the summit is a must-do, as well as a visit to Nudey Beach (despite the name, you should bring clothes) if you're not tired after that, or if you're staying multiple days, go snorkeling. The coral is nice enough if you haven't seen the Great Barrier Reef yet. Be sure to inquire at the dive shop where the best places are. Foxy's Bar offers great burgers for cheap. Sky blue water, coral beaches, pals trees, relaxed atmosphere. Like I said, all you need is the weather.

Shaylee Strawberries is a charming family-owned farm nestled between Atherton and Yungaburra, benefiting from fertile volcanic soil and ideal weather for growing luscious strawberries. Visitors can enjoy the experience of picking their own strawberries during the cooler months or indulge in delectable homemade gelato, sorbet, and strawberry jam year-round.
Such a lovely time spent here overlooking the strawberry farm. Great atmosphere and mouth watering selection of strawberry flavoured sweets!

A hidden gem, just outside of Atherton. I nearly, incorrectly, convinced myself that this wouldn’t be a good place for food because it’s mainly a strawberry farm. I was wrong. This is one of two places that we’ve eaten at so far, that has surpassed expectations. The food, coffee, juices, and soft serve have all been great here. Will definitely return. 👍

If you’re anywhere near the Atherton Tablelands, Shaylee’s Strawberry Farm is an absolute gem you won’t want to miss! The picture perfect views and the ability to pick your own strawberry’s is worth the stop in itself. These berries are the best! Big, red, sweet, and bursting with flavour! If it’s not strawberry season though, don’t worry! Their jam, sorbet and icecream still showcase them perfectly! The cafe is equally impressive serving up amazing coffee and tea, the best scones, a whole menu of hot food options, and other fresh treats. They have even catered for our celiac visitors without any hassle. It’s the kind of place you can enjoy on your own, bring the whole family, or impress visiting guests. They have indoor or outdoor seating with various tables and a few large booths. They also have a selection of gifts you can purchase (the candles are incredible!) From the friendly service to the fresh produce and the relaxing atmosphere, it’s a slice of tablelands country you’ll keep coming back for!

Hayley Strawberries always serves up the best. They have great Tattoed Saylor Roastery coffee. The scones with jam and cream are always fresh and ready to go. Their Strawberry Sorbet is delightful!! We can't help but stop by every time we're up that way. Clean amenities and seasonal views of the strawberries growing add to the great atmosphere

We originally had planned to go strawberry picking but we were a little early for the season. Brunch was amazing. The burrata bruschetta was incredible and the breakfast burger was also banging. Very cute and clean cafe good prices and staff were friendly. We also got a candle and it was very nice once lit. We will be back for brunch and strawberry picking when the season opens up !

Highly recommend. Great food, coffee and scones! Beautiful views of the strawberry fields and Giliies Ranges from your table. Suits all ages and abilities - a very well run establishment!

If you come here, do yourself a favour and get the strawberry gelato (didn’t get a photo because we consumed it all straight away)! Fast service, you can also pick your own strawberries if it’s the right season!
