Lovely venue, pretty location, superb wines and a very nice cheese platter. The cheeses on the platter were absolutely sensational - best we have come across and very generous servings. Would definitely visit again. Very small thing - your olives are delicious, but the tiny ones sure are difficult to eat.
Janet I — Google review
The location and venue is gorgeous, and the wine tasting with a platter was delicious. The staff were young and knowledgeable, bubbles were my favourite, definitely worth the visit
Kellee W — Google review
Venue is wonderful! Wines aren’t so much to my taste and beers are bitter focused but worth the visit! Was unfortunate we couldn’t do tastings!
Mindi L — Google review
We had the BEST day here on Easter Saturday! Had heard so many great reviews and the reality did not disappoint. We booked for the deck and the outlook over the vines was stunning ! We really enjoyed an assortment of the Loophole beers and Cape Jaffa bubbles with a really reasonably priced and delicious cheese board. Added bonus was the Dough and Dough pizzas which were so yum and the live music. Was such a fabulous afternoon.. congrats Cape Jaffa Winery for a creating such a great vibe ! Will be back !! 10/10
Nada B — Google review
A beautiful afternoon, with a well explained wine appreciation and tasting by very knowledgeable staff. A charcuterie board wonderfully presented with some excellent wine chosen for review. A fantastic time had by all.
Bernard W — Google review
Enjoyed a wine tasting of Cape Jaffa's delicious biodynamic wines, guided by the beautiful Tully, whose personality and grace sparkled as much as the wines! Also met Ryan the kitty, (also a charmer). I shall come back in summer, when it's a tad warmer, as the views out over the vineyards are so lovely and peaceful. I highly recommend the biodynamic Shiraz and the Gewurtztraminer. Thank you!
Deborah M — Google review
Great beer and wine tasting with four complimentary samples. Staff have fantastic knowledge of their products with a welcoming friendly smile. Both indoor and outdoor seating, outdoor balcony over looks the vineyards with spectacular views. If you’re in the area I would strongly recommend coming to visit Cape Jaffa Wines, I will be back. Also Tesla car charging station for electric vehicles.
Shane L — Google review
Wonderful location and outlook, great wines, and super friendly and helpful staff. We visited on Easter Sunday, a busy day with live music, and I suspect the wild weather just made the day busier and more stressful for the staff as tourists like us looked for cover! We had a large group and no booking as it was a ‘wing it’ kind of day for us, no expectations as we’re happy to go with the flow. The staff were awesome and continually provided improved locations for us as they became available throughout the venue. We were really impressed with how the team operated - have seen venues really struggle on days like that but these guys excelled under pressure. Thanks all for a great afternoon. Will be back to try more of the range.

The Big Lobster

$$$$affordable
Sights & Landmarks
Built in 1979, this 17-m. fiberglass-&-steel lobster sculpture is a popular spot for photos.
A Hidden Gem in Kingston Behind the Big Lobster! If you're passing through Kingston, do not miss the charming café tucked just behind the iconic Big Lobster. It's the kind of hidden gem that surprises you in the best way. With plenty of space and a gorgeous green setting, it’s perfect whether you're visiting solo, with a small group, or even a big bunch of friends. The breakfast and brunch options are spot on—fresh, hearty, and full of flavor. And the coffee? Easily some of the best you’ll find on the Limestone Coast. These folks know what they’re doing. What really sets this place apart is the rustic, relaxed vibe—outdoor seating under the trees, a peaceful atmosphere, and genuinely warm service. It’s the ideal stop to recharge and soak in the local charm. Highly recommended. You’ll leave full, caffeinated, and smiling!
Nil P — Google review
The lobster was bigger than a regular lobster. We drove 4 hours to go fishing, but the weather was not as forecast, so we cracked 'em and went exploring a bit instead. The people running the shop were super friendly and chatty and shared some history about the town and photos displayed, along with some good local fishing spots. She did a nice coffee, but the sausage roll had been sitting in the warmer for a bit too long (I should've got a pasty instead, maybe?). Overall, it's a great place to stop on a road trip and see a lobster that is larger than a real lobster. Funnily enough, the servo across the road were selling lobster sandwiches. Maybe I should've got one of those instead of the sausage roll? The lobster was pretty large.
Jon K — Google review
Im not normally particularly interested in 'the big thingys' towns/States attempt to portray themselves as having the biggest n bestest of. The Big Pinapple is my home patch claim to fame lol😁🍍 However! The Big Lobster is indeed impressive, not just BIG, but also almost pedantically detailed! Well done creators, this big crustation is a winner to me. I noted that The Big Lobster gets plenty of photos, selfies, and inspections by the passer bys but it seems many visitors click, and then cross the road to the bakeries and other food places, this instead of taking a seat in the restaurant right behind the big orangey/red fella. I do hope that place gets good trade in the high seasons as its their parking area the photographers mostly use for a lot of their snapping events. I was fascinated by the home across from The Big Lobster.
Valerie — Google review
This rating is for the giant lobster. I was just passing by and took a few photos. I did not enter the venue so can't comment on it. However, the outside area looked quite welcoming.
Emmy S — Google review
We stopped in Kingston SE during our road trip and saw the Big Lobster, also called Larry. It was really big and fun to see! Larry is 17 metres tall – that’s very tall for a lobster! You can walk up close to it and take photos. It was made in 1979 to help bring more tourists to the town. The claws and face look very cool, even though it’s a little old now. Kingston is a quiet town near the beach, and the Big Lobster is a great place to stop if you’re driving by. We had fun, took some photos, and got a coffee nearby. If you like seeing strange or funny things when you travel, you will like Larry the Lobster!
Muhammad N — Google review
Interesting Sculpture on the edge of town. Parking available. Good photo opportunity. Food places nearby. Well worth a look.

The lobster was good to see , the little store and cafe was closed and we could not get anything to eat or drink . Would have been nice to get a souvenir

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Beautiful silo art in this rural SA town. Amble parking and possible to get great pictures from many angles. The bakery down the street serves good coffee and pies, and there's public toilets too. Get here early on weekends before the caravans pulls up. It tends to get a little crowded.
Frank A — Google review
Why not take a moment to admire this beautiful art? A perfect quick stopover with a bathroom available and a local shop just across the road. A great spot to stretch your legs, take in the creativity, and enjoy a brief break before continuing your journey. Definitely worth the stop!
Dak M — Google review
Another Silo Art an my Australian tour and another take on how to do it. The artwork is superb, I still can’t figure it out even though I know technically how it’s done. To see these finished pieces of massive artwork is a pleasure. Not only tall but on a curved surface, great to see! Lots of people had stopped to take photos, a lot went to the bakery too!
Paul S — Google review
This is my first time seeing a silo mural and it was amazing. Great detail must have been taken to complete it as it is huge. Has a small park and Public toilets nearby.
Jason P — Google review
Absolutely beautiful. Made me think about my own grown children. There was a tree blocking a little bit but we just went around it.
Julie P — Google review

Pink Lake

Nature & Parks
Bodies of Water
A truly unique natural wonder! Pink Lake is such a beautiful and fascinating stop. The soft pink hue of the water against the white salt edges looks magical, especially on a sunny day. It’s right off the highway with a convenient lookout and parking, so it’s easy to visit even on a road trip. You can walk down close to the lake for amazing photos. The colour can change depending on the weather and season, but it’s still a stunning sight and worth a visit. A peaceful and memorable spot in Victoria!
Rupal P — Google review
Nothing pink to be see. We were on our way from Robe to Adelaide, so we did not deliberately drive there. We would have been disappointed. The lake was completely dried up 3 days before Christmas. But the otherworldly landscape was still worth the stop.
Andreas L — Google review
The Pink Lake is tricky to attempt to get a true to colour image of on a phone camera methinks. My attempts were a fail. I found this place 'along the way' a simple yet interesting one. Being the Winter the pink was not as pronounced as other seasons but there was definitely a glimpse of pink to ponder. Im an artist so a bit of artistic licence will be brought out of my kit as I create 'my version' of how I actually saw it and how I envisioned Pink Lake in other seasons!🩷🧞‍♀️
Valerie — Google review
I visited Pink Lake in Meningie during the holidays, but the water had dried up, so the lake wasn’t pink as shown in the pictures. Even so, the trip was still worth it. The view along the road was amazing – wide open spaces that made me feel small under the big sky. Both sides of the road were full of different plants, with changing colors and shapes. It made the drive interesting and enjoyable, turning the whole journey into a special experience. If you’re nearby, I’d recommend visiting. The lake might not always be pink, but the scenery and peaceful atmosphere make it worth the trip.
Dai T — Google review
came in september 2025 on a cloudy day, no pink lake! ground is solid enough to walk safely without any issues at all but be prepared to clean your shoes after. not worth the mud actually.
Nadya M — Google review
Due to the drought it was dried up. The mud was very slippery so couldnt walk too far. Only a very faint pink tinge in the distance
Emily B — Google review
Visited in late October and It does look pink.. but couldn't find a way to get a closer look as the area didn't seem to have any trail to go have a closer look. Or maybe have a look around you can find one. It's right beside the highway!
Vardhmansinh C — Google review
Well, that was random pink lake. It's pink when the sun hits the water.

Granite Island

Island
Nature & Parks
Granite Island is a small island with a rocky coastline that can be accessed by causeway. It is well-known for its penguin colonies and opportunities to spot whales. The Screwpile Jetty on the island is popular among anglers, offering chances to catch mulloway, sharks, kingfish, snapper, squid, trevally, mackerel, tommies, and salmon. At night, various shark species can also be found in the area.
What a beautiful island just a short stroll from Victor Harbor. When we were there, the weather was postcard perfect. The blue sky and dark blue ocean. The island got its name from the granites that are scattered all on top of it. There were some incredible formations. The plants on the island were also well looked after. I saw a few park employees watering the plants as we arrived. At the end of the trip, we rest our legs at the cafe on the west end of the island. The round trip around the island took us about 40 minutes.
Siew T — Google review
Best tourist attraction of victor Harbor, amazing views and possibly view some penguins if you're lucky. Plenty of photo points and places to just sit and relax. Would be advisable to carry some water/ drinks and light snacks if you are going with kids. A nice small picnic mat would be great to carry along.
Bhhasskar B — Google review
Granite Island is an absolute gem and a must-visit if you’re in or near Victor Harbor! The walk across the causeway itself is already scenic—especially if you catch it during sunset or spot the horse-drawn tram in action. Once on the island, the coastal views are simply breathtaking. The walking trail around the island is well-paved and easy to follow, with plenty of photo-worthy spots along the way—rugged cliffs, crashing waves, and of course, the iconic granite boulders that give the island its name. It’s a great place to unwind, take in the ocean breeze, and reconnect with nature. Just wear comfy shoes and bring a jacket—coastal winds can surprise you!
Shi L — Google review
I’ve been there before — it’s a breezy 🍃, short walk and usually quite busy on a sunny day. But if you go a bit later or on a cloudy day, it’s absolutely beautiful. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore, paired with the stunning landscape, makes it magical. And if you’re lucky, especially in June, you might even hear whales. 🐳 Honestly, it’s probably the best place. Walking the trail is calming every single time I go.
April P — Google review
Visiting this island felt like stepping into a postcard. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the natural beauty. If you’re looking to slow down, reconnect with nature, and just breathe, this island is absolute heaven. Perfect for couples, solo travellers, or anyone needing a real escape from the busy world. You might even get lucky and see some penguins.
Michael A — Google review
Visitors and locals alike are extremely lucky to have easy access to this amazing attraction. A 680 meter causeway allows access for pedestrians to the island where you'll discover heaps of wildlife such as seals, penguins, dolphins and an array of bird species. The rugged beauty of the landscape is something to behold and can be easily enjoyed thanks to the boardwalks, stairs and pathways. Fishing, snorkeling and swimming as well as boat tours are just some of the many leisure varieties on offer. Please note that dogs are not permitted, nor is cycling on the causeway or island.
Emmy S — Google review
Always a wonderful experience to walk around Granite Island. A must see for all who visit Victor Harbour!
Brooke J — Google review
Granite Island is absolutely stunning! 🌊🪨 A perfect mix of natural beauty and wildlife 🐧🦀. The walking trails offer breathtaking views of the ocean and coastline 🌅💙, and you can even spot the famous little penguins up close 🐧😍. Great for hiking, photography 📸, or a relaxing day surrounded by nature 🌿✨. A must-visit gem near Victor Harbor! 🌟❤️

Travelling to Granite Island by horse-drawn tram is a wonderful experience, offering picturesque views of the sea, coastline, and island. The prices are reasonable, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. A highly recommended outing for families.
Charitha D — Google review
This is a great experience for families to enjoy while in Victor Harbor. The horses are amazing how calmly they pull the tram car to and back from Granite Island. Must do attraction if in the area.
Jason P — Google review
We drive down from Adelaide, about 1&1/2 hours. A taste of history, crossing the bridge between Victor harbour and Granite island, in a horse drawn carriage. About $20pp.Then we had a beautiful walk around Granite island, with views of waves crashing in from the Southern Ocean. Scenic drive back to Adelaide in the afternoon.
Ursula J — Google review
Fabulous! Beautiful horse Barney we had, about to have a rest before the next one took over. Great ride.
Outbush M — Google review
I visited first time in Australia and this is the place i can vouch for🫶 Horse tramway is a must have if you are coming for first time- the best experience. The horse cart has its timing and ends at 2:30pm i believe. Book your spot by visiting early and there’s was a long waiting queue
Shagun — Google review
We were visiting Victor Harbor and saw the horse drawn tram. Although we didn't ride it, it looked historical. The bridge where the tram runs can also be walked across by foot. The horses did look like they were well taken care of.

We really loved the horse drawn tram. It’s the biggest attraction in the area and you can walk granite island once the tram arrives.

Urimbirra Wildlife Park

Urimbirra Wildlife Park is a delightful destination for families, friends, or solo adventurers looking to connect with Australia's unique wildlife. Conveniently located near Victor Harbor, this medium-sized private zoo offers an engaging experience with friendly kangaroos that visitors can feed and interact with. Many guests have enjoyed the thrill of petting koalas and observing various other animals in well-maintained enclosures.
Our family had a wonderful time at Urimbirra. Affordable entry prices and kangaroo food available for purchase. We enjoyed feeding all of the friendly kangaroos and learning about koalas. We also visited the goats and sheep who were very eager to meet us. A great afternoon out for little ones!
Georgia H — Google review
We are locals so have been a few times, but must say things certainly seem to be getting better, there are new structures, pens and water containers clean, and im not sure how they did it but the kangaroos dont mob everyone as soon as you go through the gate, it makes for a lot nicer experience for all. The handler at the koalas was happy to use our phones to take photos with koalas so that was a nice touch
Chris B — Google review
I’ve been here twice with my kids and we have all enjoyed being up close with the wildlife. The pricing is fair, there are not a vast range of animals, but it’s a wildlife park not a zoo. The kangaroos are pretty placid and welcome pats, especially if you purchase feeding bags. They can get a bit handsie when you have feeding bags, this most recent visit I saw multiple kids arms be grabbed and held on to as well as whole bags snatched from them. When you’re in the park, it is almost rare to see any staff around, the grounds is quite large and you have free range to roam around and see all the animals. I’ve been during school term and school holidays and honestly it’s not super noticeable when there’s more people, the only time you kind of noticed it is when you’re in line to pat the koalas. The koala experience is not like when you go to the zoo and pay to hold a koala, but it is included with the entry fee and you get to go right up to the koalas and pat them on the back. They bring koalas into small fenced enclosures, open up the gate to see the koalas and give them pats on the back while they lounge and eat. I am unsure where the koalas are kept regularly as each time I’ve come it has been right at the start of the day and the koalas are not in the same pens to begin with. Multiple bird Avery’s are around the park with one walk-through Avery close to the entrance, the walk through is mostly rainbow lorikeets, but there are a few other birds inside. In the other Avery you can see many different breeds of Australian native birds including tawny frogmouth owls and cockatoos. There are also multiple peacocks and a peahen roaming the grounds freely that you can get close to but they will run/fly/jump away if you run up to them or spook them. There is a small section with a reptile enclosure, including some Australian snakes and lizards as well as a few crocodiles. Further into the ground there awesome wombat enclosures usually they are in their dens which you’re able to see through a pain of glass. There are also a few dingoes in a fenced off enclosure that has got electrocuted fencing. They often are right up at the fences waging their tails when people are around, there enclosure is large and they seem very happy. This is a great experience for younger kids and anyone who just wants to feed a kangaroo and pat a koala.
Talia T — Google review
We love this place. It's reasonably priced and not too large for little ones. We bring our grandson here regularly as he loves it. They have limited snacks so best to bring your own food with you.
Jill D — Google review
This place is great. Lots of kangaroos just hanging out in the open wanting to be fed. Wombats, crocodiles, cockatoos and more. Quite busy with a mix of people from families with kids, to couples, to tourists. Spent over an hour just wandering around.
Sam V — Google review
The kangaroos were very keen for food and will come over to you. Birds are very talkative and friendly. Smaller park than some. Staff were friendly. Toilets outside the giftshop area.
Jasmine D — Google review
Our family enjoyed our visit to Urimbirra Wildlife Park. The park was small but had enough animals for the kids to enjoy. There were plenty of kangaroos that you can feed and we also did the koala encounter which both kids and adults loved.
M L — Google review
We were pleasantly surprised on our recent visit to this wonderful park. There were many more animals than we were expecting, the reptile area was fascinating, and being able to get so close to the wildlife was quite an experience. Keep up the great work!

Exceptional venue. Elegant country atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and impeccable food and service. This was a special occasion, being my friend's birthday celebration & it did not disappoint. The three of us dined in for lunch on a chilly winter Sunday, but the warm fire & friendliness of staff had us feeling toasty warm and amongst friends. We were so impressed & delighted by the Chefs Degustation selection. It was faultless in presentation and deliciousness 😋 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We will be back!

What an ambience, beautifully set in a lovely vineyard. Staff were extre accommodating and made our experience ask the better. The food was beautiful as to the wine and for me specially the tawny. If you go you must try the affogato, the home made icecream sets it to another level.

I took my partner for a early birthday surprise lunch. We had such a lovely experience at Lake Breeze Wines! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, the food was absolutely delicious, and the wines were fantastic. Such a tranquil spot with beautiful surroundings — we even had a lovely chat about the history of the vines, which made the visit feel extra special. The atmosphere was relaxing, and we honestly can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend!l

We fell in love with Lake Breeze as our wedding venue the moment we arrived and that was just reinforced by the incredible, welcoming service we were provided by Ash, Georgia & the team. Not only are the gardens immaculate, but the purpose built function room was the perfect setting for the meal time and following party we dreamed of. Even the bathrooms are beautiful! Every time we visited the venue for any reason, we were consistently greeted with genuine warmth no matter who it was in the team. The events team truly know what they're doing, meticulously planning tasting nights to help select our menu, and no idea was off limits when it came to styling for our unique day. The most important thing for us was that our guests had a great time and thanks to Lake Breeze, this was a given. Overall we are thrilled with Lake Breeze as a reception venue and we couldn't recommend them highly enough!

We would like to thank the staff for making our family celebration so special yesterday at this great venue. We had a fantastic day sharing the most amazing feed me menu paired with your wonderful wines. You should be rated the best in the business. We won't hesitate in recommending you for a great day out.

Old Tailem Town Pioneer Village

Sights & Landmarks
Historic Sites
Thoroughly enjoyed this stop as it was a great historic place were you can walk around and see over 100 buildings from Australia’s pioneering past. Incredible to see how well everything has been preserved and that you can walk through so many of the buildings. We spent nearly a couple hours but you could definitely spend more as there is so much to see. Highly recommend!
Renee D — Google review
Old Tailem Town Pioneer Village is an incredible step back in time! The attention to detail in the historical buildings and exhibits is amazing—each one tells a story of life in Australia from the 1800s to the mid-1900s. It's a self-guided tour, which gave us the freedom to explore at our own pace. The kids loved the old schoolhouse and vintage vehicles, and we found the whole experience both educational and fascinating. Definitely worth the visit if you're into history or looking for a unique day out. Just remember to bring cash and your own snacks, as facilities are a bit limited. Highly recommend!
Anish S — Google review
My visit to Old Tailem Town took 2.5 hours to complete, and I didn't dilly dally in the machinery sheds! Imagine! Try 3.5 hours if I had. The presentation of this wonderful walk back in time lacks no detail. The atmosphere as I walked around the precinct pulled me back into my own "early days" of the 1950's, and gave me pause to ponder how fortunate my parents were that their predecessors boarded a ship in 1822 to leave Prussia to proceed to align themselves into such a harsh yet beautiful "new world". Both my parents were born in South Australia, 1909 and 1917. The old Tailem Town experience brings to life so many aspects of "life as it was" that I can't write it all here. I will be definitely be encouraging people I meet as I travel to visit this amazing place. The Squire's family have done, and continue to do, a top job of presenting an accurate and full bodied look into an important part of Australia's historical living conditions and life styles. The strong hot cuppa T made "the modern way with a tea bag"😆 was very much needed and appreciated after my long amble through the old town. The homemade Choc chip and Anzac biccies went down well too! Thank you for continuing to ensure this wonderful place continues to exist.

Expected a few buildings but wow! Was completely amazed at how massive this place is with so many buildings all jam packed with items. They said it took 45 years to get it all in one spot and I'm not surprised! Definitely bigger and better than Flagstaff Hill or Soverign Hill was cheap entry and could easily have spent the whole day there and still not seen it all.
Peta A — Google review
This place was great. I've always driven past and not visited. As a family, we spent 3hrs here, but easily could have spent 5hrs + here. Kids (7,9,11) and adults all enjoyed it thoroughly.
Alex K — Google review
Great place for anyone interested in learning about the history of South Australia and how people lived here in the past. Fully furnished and detailed buildings with lots to see, lots of effort has been put into maintaining the place and preserving the history. Would definitely recommend a visit, no better way to learn about the past than to walk through it!

Fun and engaging experience for our family (2 adults + 3 kids under 12 years old). Lots of unique buildings to explore, very well done.

Wine tastings, share plates and pizza in a restored 1866 barn with stone walls and a mezzanine.
Simply stunning winery and cellar door you could swear you were in Tuscany. Beautiful wood fired GF pizza and bre and jam standard base pizza. The wines were delicious and for us the Selkirk Shiraz was the take home winner. Great team very knowledgeable and warm! Kevin

Visiting Bremerton is a fabulous way to spend an afternoon. We started our time there with a tasting. Rach was a brilliant host and made the tasting interesting and fun. Honestly, I could have bought a bottle of every wine I tasted. They were all amazing. After the tasting we moved into the dining area for lunch. The outdoor area looks incredible and it would be a brilliant place to spend a warm afternoon. Unfortunately the weather was against us, so we opted to eat inside. The atmosphere in the dining area is wonderful and the art on the walls provides an interesting backdrop. Our food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend a visit to Bremerton and I will definitely be going back.

Visited Bremerton in search of a good local wine and definitely found it here! To our surprise they offer a complimentary wine-tasting in which you can choose 6 wines from the menu to try. During that Brad was super helpful and told us so many facts & information about the different wines we tasted. Very friendly atmosphere 💯 Maybe try to avoid the peak hours for a bit more personalized experience 💪🏼 (as it seemed like getting quite busy when we left) Very recommendable, especially if you don't have much experience with wines! 🍷

There were Dozens of wines are available for tastings at no charge and then we went and had lunch which was amazing value we ordered a pizza 9 inch with two glasses of wine for $38. We then left after purchasing three wines to take home fantastic customer service explanation of the wines What an under bay appreciated wine region and superb Bremerton wines. Also Our pizza order was forgotten but they came back and looked after us with complimentary wines. We were so impressed by their professionalism and looking after us. The pizza was basic but not gourmet with what tasted dnd looked like a commercially made pizza base. But once again it was great value.. but we do highly recommend this place.

We were lucky to get a table without making a reservation this time round. 2nd time here with the first time doing the Gin Flight... one of the better distilleries in the region. This time we gone through the wine tasting. Jayden was an absolute gem with extensive knowledge on the winelist who provided us lots of details and insights... Had the Mediterranean platter with Mediterranean pizza and Mushroom pizza. Love the overall experience and glad that we lived 40 minutes away...

Carrickalinga Beach

Nature & Parks
Beaches
One of the best beaches in Adelaide. Safe to enter with flat sandy beaches in water for a couple of metres in. Good waves. Plenty of parking spots. Shower available near the beach deck after a dip in sea water. Toilets also available near the parking.
Pradeesh J — Google review
Where else other than Australia can you visit an exquisite beach and have it all to yourself. There are wheelchair accessible public toilets, more suited to those who can transfer from the wheelchair to the toilet. There is fresh water available from an easily accessible drinking fountain. There are information boards on the 7000 year old dunes and the Hooded Plover. Carrickalinga is also noted as a Dark Sky Community (as per DarkSky International). There is also a ‘free little library’😀.

Hands down my favourite beach. Never too busy, great car parking, good depth swimming close to shore, body boarding and snorkeling opportunities, rinse off tap/shower on way off the beach and amenities and not too far from Adelaide.

Absolute beautiful beach. Clear, fresh and excellent swimming conditions. Helicopter 🚁 in this review after spotting a shark 🦈 which is a great resource to have in South Australia. I would consider this the best beach in ‘Adelaide’ / within a hour or so travel time from the city. I find it crazy someone would leave a lower than 5 start review on this beach… maybe factors that come into play that are not the actual beach itself…. But beach wise, it’s perfection.

Carrickalinga Beach Definitely one of the Best Beaches in the World Doesn’t get any better, with strict No fishing rules. Allowing the Sea life to enjoy swimming near the Shoreline. Visiting the Carrickalinga Beach on Friday 12.03.2021 I spotted a tiny sting ray the size of a saucepan. Really good to see.

Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner cruise or a relaxed Sunday lunch, the friendly and attentive staff ensure an enjoyable experience.
I recently had the pleasure of taking a cruise on the Captain Proud Paddle Boat along the Murray River, and it was a wonderful experience! The boat itself has a unique charm with its vintage paddle wheel design, capturing the essence of the river’s rich history. The scenic views were breathtaking, showcasing lush landscapes and wildlife along the riverbanks. The crew was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, offering insights into the history of the area, which made the journey even more engaging. The onboard meal was delicious, featuring fresh, local ingredients that highlighted the region’s flavors. It was the perfect setting for a relaxing day on the water, whether you’re looking to unwind or learn more about the Murray River. I highly recommend the Captain Proud Paddle Boat cruise to anyone visiting the area. It’s an experience that combines history, nature, and relaxation in the best way possible!

This cruise is fantastic value for money, especially if you’re using their special offers/cheap Tuesday deal. Lunch was good and the menu was surprisingly big considering the kitchen must be rather small. Servings were generous. Enjoyed a lovely, peaceful 3-hour cruise up and down the Murray river seeing the scenery and all kinds of birds. I’ve never seen so many pelicans! The boat seemed to be at less than half capacity on a sunny Sunday in June, so you might get lucky with lots of space to spread out in winter!
Laura — Google review
Captain did a great job. Boat itself is very tired..would be great after a reno...bathrooms unacceptable. It chuffed along the river without any problems. Meal served, (2 courses) quite surprising considering it was prepared on board in galley kitchen. Bar served drinks, including coffee or tea if you wanted it...but was not included. All in all a good experience and one we should support. Quiet day meant boat could go down stream, which is apparently more interesting.

The Mother’s Day cruise was an excellent way to spend time with family; the specialty 3 course menu was filling and delicious, the local artists looked after us with all the biggest hits across a variety of different genres and the dazzling lights amongst the sunset made for a beautiful scenery. The crew have outdone themselves x

Went on Burlesque cruise, entertainment was very good table companions were great but the food was substandard. Main course choice of lamb shanks or vegeterian salad I was told no choice left you had to have salad. The "salad" was horrible spinache leaves with boiled carrots and pumpkin asparagas houllumi no dressing. So bad I could not eat it. $130 person be ware. Why dont Cpt Proud request preselection of food when booking to avoid disappointment. Won't be back.

We had such a lovely time at Longview for Father’s Day lunch. The atmosphere was relaxed and we never felt rushed, which made the day extra enjoyable. The stunning views created the perfect backdrop, and the activities for the kids were such a thoughtful touch, they kept everyone happy! The wine and food were both excellent, and we really appreciated the balance of quality and comfort. Overall, it was a beautiful day out that felt special for the whole family, excited for next year 🙌

We had an absolutely incredible experience at Longview yesterday for my birthday. The staff were exceptional — friendly, attentive, and made us feel well looked after the whole time. A special thank you to Lauren, who looked after us so well. Her professionalism, warm personality, and genuine care truly made our day extra special. The food was outstanding; not only was every dish perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor, but the portions were so generous we felt truly spoilt the entire time. Thank you for making my birthday so special. We can’t wait to return, whether for another lunch or a stay. Highly recommend!

Had lunch there for Winter Reds event. The atmosphere and service were very good. It was a set menu and they were able to accommodate for dietary requirements which was great. However, as the set menu wasn't cheap, when booking I made sure to check that the vegan option wasn't going to be just some basic salad...they assured me that it was going to be a proper meal. While it is true that I didn't leave hungry, unfortunately the vegan main was half a head of undercooked cauliflower....

Went to the Father’s Day lunch this past weekend, and wow it was such a great event! We were greeted with a glass of wine on arrival, there was heaps for the kids to enjoy too, and ending the day with the most delicious desserts was the cherry on top. The staff were attentive, explained all the wines thoughtfully, and allowed us to relax and sit back while the kids got their faces painted. The live music was also a real highlight. Amazing family day out and hoping to visit again for one of their pizza days!

Enjoyed the full experience the winery offers, starting with the feed me menu and pairing of wines, blissful 3 hr massage (which was truely a blissful experience 🙌🙏🏼) and a night in the spa suite that was wonderfully cozy with the spa facing the beautiful scenery … very relaxing! Beds extremely comfortable.

Lovely spot to relax and unwind. Me and my husband stayed for one night, and it was a beautiful opportunity to relax and leave the world behind. We enjoyed long walks through the vineyards, the infrared sauna at the spa, chilling in our cozy cottage, and an amazing lunch at their restaurant. The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed. Just a minor inconvenience—the TV remote wasn’t working, and we had to ask for coffee pods upon arrival as there were none provided. The service at the restaurant was a bit slow but we weren't in a hurry for sure. We’ll definitely be back!
Maria P — Google review
A beautiful location with the rooms and cellar door surrounded by rolling hills of grape vines in tidy rows. You can walk around the grounds and walk up to a lookout with the longest view. It’s just beautiful. We stayed in one of the rooms which was perfect and comfortable: warm and cosy, nicely decorated and well equipped. The bed was so so comfy! They provided extensive breakfast provisions which was such a nice surprise at check in. Then there’s the cellar door restaurant and the wine!! We did a couple of tasting menus for the wine all of which are delicious and there’s great variation for whatever your preference. The food was also delicious and there’s great variation service impeccable. Lauren in particular made everything perfect- she got to know us and our tastes, making very helpful suggestions and recommendations always with a smile and a laugh. Every interaction with her was a dream. Thank you!!

It was an enjoyable visit on Saturday 6th Jan 24. Weather was rainy and we were there when it first opened. Despite the business setting up for the day a nice engaging young lady took us through the wines. A great venue and our host for the wines did a fantastic job. We signed up and look forward to getting more wines. Highly recommend.👏👏👏👍🍷

Beautiful place to hang out in the afternoon/ evening. They offer outdoor cinema sometime which kids enjoy a lot. However, very limited selection of beer and food is really poor. We tried a pizza and a couple of chicken burgers, none was good. I also noticed that many people complained about getting the wrong order. I would suggest visiting but don’t have high hopes getting a good meal.

Wirra Wirra Vineyards, established in 1894, offers tastings and guided cellar tours. The late founder, Greg Trott, is celebrated as McLaren Vale's mischievous vinous Pied Piper. The winery is known for its iconic label, Church Block, and produces a variety of regional and Adelaide Hills wines including sauvignon blanc, riesling, and chardonnay.
Large winery with restaurant and tasting area. Set in gorgeous gardens and surrounding landscape. Delicious range of reds, whites and pinks. Post and rail fence is largest example I’ve ever seen!

We found this vineyard by chance and loved it so much. The staff are very friendly. Coffee was amazing (the best coffee that I’ve had recently). We enjoyed the food and prices are reasonable. I had an amazing time even though I don’t drink wine so you can enjoy your time at this place even if you don’t drink. Overall highly recommended!

Harry’s Deli was recommended to us and did not disappoint. Our group of eight (all from interstate) enjoyed the best service - we had the a la carte menu and all meals were just delicious. Great wine and great food.

Wirra Wirra will always be 5/5. The wine is beautiful, with reasonably priced tastings that showcase the incredible wines on offer. Bec was very very very knowledgeable about the wine, vineyards, production process, the grapes and everything in between. Her bubbly personality and willingness to answer questions made the tasting not only delicious but informative too. Plenty of parking available at Wirra Wirra too. Great location that is also child friendly too. The environment is steeped in rich heritage of delicious wines coupled with the country feeling of McLaren Vale. Next we trotted over to Harry’s Deli. The catering manager Carly was just as excellent as the food. Our server was attentive, considerate, professional and polite. The food portions were generous and reasonably priced. We shared our smaller plates and our mains. The variety on the menu is perfect for the venue and has something to cater to all. Wirra Wirra wines are a staple in our home and we walked out with a few to add to the collection. Another gorgeous trip to a place that feels like walking into a welcoming and warm home. It’s accessible all year round with flat ground for wheelchair and mobility access, plus indoor and outdoor seating with the fire roaring in winter means visiting all year round is a breeze. We will always come back here for a lovely weekend meal. It truly feels like luxury meets the comforts of home. An asset to McLaren Vale.

We celebrated my husband's 60th at Wirra Wirra last weekend in a private room which was beautifully set up. It was amazing and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The wines are top notch as was the food and service - we cannot fault anything! We were able to experience setting off the catapult (organised in advance) and my husband was able to also ring the Anglican Church Bell that's on site at the end of the day. We cannot recommend Wirra Wirra highly enough and if we ever want to hold another special event in SA, Wirra Wirra will be at the top of our list of places to hold it. Karly was amazing to deal with right from the start - an amazing human being always smiling and accommodating! We'd like to personally thank her wholeheartedly - we were in great hands! We'd also like to thank staff member Luke who assisted Karly on the day as well as the Catapult team Keith and Shane.

We visited Harry’s Deli for our 20th wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. We enjoyed a beautiful bottle of 2016 Catapault Shiraz paired with the kingfish and chicken entrees and beef brisket and Asian duck noodle salad for mains. Food was amazing and views were lovely. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. Definitely worth a visit whilst McClaren Vale.

A great place for wine tasting and lunch. Don't be fooled by the name Harry's 'Deli' - the food is sophisticated with more of a restaurant feel.
Jane B — Google review
We went today for lunch, booked for 8 people, half from interstate. We had an extra 2 adults with 2 kids (2 years old and 1 year old) that wanted to join us, not to eat, just to have a drink and for company. Once we mentioned this, we were told we were required to go to the seasonal meal, which was $70 a head. This wouldn’t be an issue if they were actually eating, but they weren’t. The attitude of the waitress who served us was nothing short of disappointing and rather rude. Not flexible, not willing to work with us and borderline arrogant. In all honesty, we wanted to leave there and then. Such a shame as table service was great, food was great but it left a really bad taste in our mouth that we couldn’t have a couple more sit with us who wanted to be apart of the crew. The place had plenty of seating which was even more disappointing. Rather than joining us, they were made to sit on the other side of the winery and had to wait for us to have lunch. Based on the way the situation was handled. I wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend.

Monarto Safari Park

Wildlife and safari park
Zoos & Aquariums
Zoo
Open-range zoo featuring animals like cheetahs, lions, giraffes & rhinos, with hands-on experiences.
Loved it! A great experience for young and old alike, lots of choices depending on your level of fitness from either walking the entire 15 odd kilometres of walking trails to just sitting on the 1.5hour tour buses that continually traverse the park, or you can get off at viewing platforms of your choice to see things at your own pace. Definitely going pay extra to see the lion feeding at dusk tour next time around! The visitors center is awesome too with lots to see.
Daniel M — Google review
I recently visited Monarto Safari Park with my family, and it was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The park is extremely well organised, clean, and visitor friendly. A big plus is the frequent bus service that goes around the park (every 10 minutes), which makes getting between enclosures very easy and relaxing especially with kids. The buses let you hop on and off, so you can take your time at each stop without feeling rushed. During our visit we saw a fantastic variety of animals: lions, giraffes, rhinos, cheetahs, chimpanzees, elephants and many others. The open-range habitats are stunning; many of the animals have large, naturalistic spaces to roam, which adds so much to the authenticity and joy of the safari feeling. We also appreciated the viewing platforms and well-designed stops where you can get closer looks without disturbing the animals. The staff are outstanding friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic. They gladly answered questions, explained things about the animals and conservation efforts, which made the day both fun and educational. For families, this place is ideal: there are paths, walks, and plenty of opportunities for children to learn and enjoy. All in all, Monarto Safari Park is very well organised, offers great value, and delivers memorable moments. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a full day outing whether with kids, friends or just by yourself. It’s definitely one of the best wildlife experiences in South Australia. 🇦🇺 💙

Went in on my yearly zoo pass and took some amazing photos. Spent the entire day there and the staff are very helpful one girl who drives the buses is very knowledgeable and let's you feel the personal story of the animals, the kids loved her. I believe her name was Lindsay, say hi to her and commend her great work. The volunteers are very supportive to this amazing park. There's a hotel on site and your able to stay and try the packages to get up and close with the Cat's and other animals. Its worth the trip with the family.

Great for all ages! They provide free loop bus to bring us around animals' habitat for close up view withing the park! Monarto Safari Park is Huge! 14 kilometers walking trails can easily be covered by bus! 1 full round trip bus takes about 1.5hrs with tour guide explaining on board. Its truely an amazing experience!
Rainbow F — Google review
Amazing day, the 360 lion experience was fantastic. We had wheel chairs so was a bit limited to where we could go but the 1 & half hour coach trip around the park was great. Perfect weather 18 degrees so most of the animals were out and about.
Helen S — Google review
Visiting the safari zoo was a special experience. It’s definitely better to stay on the tour bus rather than walk, as the visitor platforms aren’t very convenient for spotting animals. The zoo can also be quite windy and cold, so be prepared!
Yue Z — Google review
I had such a great day at Monarto, the drivers of the bus have such good knowledge of the animals and interesting facts about the park. We then stayed at the new resort and it was incredible. I would love to stay there again. We stayed in one of the waterhole view rooms, and saw the giraffes and zebras coming to eat and drink, it was amazing to see from a hotel room. The d'Arenberg Cube is a one-of-a-kind 5-level structure in McLaren Vale, shaped like a cube puzzle. It features an array of attractions including art exhibits, wine tasting rooms, and a fine-dining restaurant. The renowned cube is home to a surrealist exhibition showcasing authentic Salvador Dali bronze sculptures and graphic artworks. Additionally, visitors can explore the wine inhalation room, virtual fermenter, 360-degree video room, several bars, and tasting rooms on the top floor.
We started at the blending bench with our host Mike which we enjoyed then headed to the next floor to have some lunch a gin cocktail and a wine we then went and checked out the art museum on the first floor which was interesting. The art everywhere is quirky and fun. We took a look at the art Marque and finished our day with some bottles of wine to have when we got home. The views are wonderful and the cube is quirky ,fun and unique with a really good vibe. The toilets are definitely a talking point 😊

I’d say the number 1 winery to visit, perhaps in all of SA. The building itself and views are simply unmatched. Any fan of wine, arts, and natural landscapes has to visit. The $20 entry included tasting of five white or red wines on the beautiful top floor, and access to the rest of the building’s decorative installations. We also spent $10 on the Dali exhibit, which was well worth it. It’s a very cool looking spot but maybe not the best for kids. There isn’t much for them here.

We done a wine blending experience. Sarah our host did a great job. Most interesting, informative and a great experience.

What a gem of a winery - the d’Arenberg Cube blew us away from start to finish. Ground level hosts a free art space that’s totally MONA-esque - immersive and unforgettable. Level 2 features real Salvador Dalí works - mind officially blown. Level 3 café serves vibrant SE Asian bites that hit the spot. Level 4 tasting room offers panoramic vineyard views and incredible pours. Their Sauvignon Blanc with hints of jalapeño and green capsicum alone was worth the trip. Friendly staff, unique vibes, and an experience you won’t find anywhere else - can’t wait to cube again!

We popped up in The d’Arenberg Cube in McLaren Vale SA 5171 at the day after the King’s Birthday holiday 2025. The admission free is $20 per adult including either red or white flight tasting and free historical and artwork visit. Thanks Hugo and Mike, who served us and gave us the information. My overall experience is more than satisfactory 👍

Fantastic and unmissable. The art is spectacular, the wine is delicious and the whole experience is excellent. You must see the Salvador Dali exhibition as part of your ticket. Also visit the tent art in the grounds.

An interesting place. More style over substance but worth a visit. You will pay a high price for everything and be upsold if you want better wines or to visit the Dali exhibit which is really a store. The decor was good, views are good, service is good. Its the type of place that the bus full of tourists stop off at. Plenty of parking.

Beerenberg Farm, located in Hahndorf, is a family-owned attraction that offers the opportunity to pick fresh strawberries from November to April. Visitors can enjoy the experience of hand-picking their own sweet strawberries for a small entry fee. The farm also features traditional crops such as sweet corn and mixed vegetables.
The environment is really comfortable and welcoming. The food is amazing. I ordered a big brekkie and it is worth every penny. It can feed two people easily in my opinion. It is 1000% worth it to buy any jam, it has an incredible flavour. The strawberry chocolate is so good, as a strawberry fan I highly recommend. Toilets very clean and aesthetic. Plenty of parking. Staff is very friendly. I would love to come back during strawberry harvesting season.

Very good place to stop whilst in Handorf. Strawberry picking available when in season. In the shop there is a cafe available serving drinks and food. In the shop there is a wide range of jams and other products available, for reasonable prices. Well worth a stop. Good sized car park outside.
Christine B — Google review
Strawberry picking was absolutely amazing especially with the kids. By far the sweetest juiciest strawberries I’ve ever eaten (eating straight after picking it was the best). Definitely worth going when it’s the season and be ready for a long day out of walking too!
Ashrit K — Google review
The restaurant crowded of people. The menu selection is quite simple and specialist. Seperate into 2 section. The meal area consist ice cream order. The shop area sell variety of products. Order do it in the counter and remember to tell your table number. Food and drink will be deliver to table. The lamb pie, smokey, bacon & eggs is good. Free flow of water is self service, get the cup and bottle of water from the counter.

Beerenberg Family Farm is a great spot for a day out. The strawberry picking is fun. After picking, the farm shop is well worth a visit. I did a lot of shopping there and stocked up on their fresh jams and local products, all excellent in quality. The place is very well run and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s a simple, enjoyable experience that feels genuine and well cared for. A great place to relax, pick strawberries, and take home something delicious.

strawberry picking in beerenberg farm fun day hahaha you can do strawberry picking here but only during Nov to Apr, honestly the ticket is very valuable you can visit strawberry farm and taste a bit, but sadly the strawberry not sweet at all…still a funny experience in hahndorf they have a cafe shop insides with some green plants hanging, quite good environment and the shop next too only bad thing today is keep raining in between we have to stay under the tree to cover ourselves lolll hahaha Beerenberg farm rating of mine: 4.3
MandyGoTravelling — Google review
Nice relaxing walk from Hahndorf Inn, saw some cows. Strawberry picking not yet started, so we had ice cream & cookies, & browsed at the shop.
MJ F — Google review
The new barn is modern and high-end, and I found the mini museum quite interesting. Although the strawberry patch was closed today, the café was still bustling with people. As part of our mystery trail experience, we collected our meal base and had a quick browse through the shop before leaving. If we hadn’t already had lunch, this would’ve been a lovely spot for a meal—perfect for brunch or lunch in the Adelaide Hills. That said, I feel like Beerenberg Farm has lost some of the charm and personal touches that used to make it such a special place. Little things, like being personally greeted by staff, seem to be missing now.

The Cedars is a historic property that served as the residence, studio, and inspiration for the renowned Australian landscape artist Sir Hans Heysen. Nestled on a 36-acre estate that later expanded to 132 acres, this picturesque setting was home to Heysen and his family. Visitors can explore the evocative stone studio nestled among gum trees and view around 200 original artworks displayed in changing exhibits.
I was recommended to visit that incredible place by my friend. From my point of view, autumn is the most perfect time to go there. Due to bushfires we could see only Heysen's daughter studio and half of the garden. But even though I was so impressed. We took a self-guided tour, because we arrived too late, before they closed. Nevertheless, it was a good decision as well. We were all alone and could enjoy the beauty of the place and had a small picnic. I definitely will come back to take a guided tour to see the rest and know more about his life and creations.

I have been wanting to come here for a few years and so happy to have achieved my goal of seeing how Hans painted the Flinders Ranges; (from which we were heading home to Vic.) The house tour was fantastic- our Wednesday guide John was very knowledgeable. All the staff were most welcoming. I had bought my tickets on line no way did I want to miss out, it meant I could tag along with another earlier group tour. There is a lot of earth works currently in progress as a new gallery is being constructed. I look forward to seeing the old and the new together.

Nestled between Crafers and Piccadilly, Mount Lofty Botanic Garden spans 97 acres of sloping terrain, featuring a picturesque lake, extensive walking trails, and themed gullies adorned with exotic plants. The garden showcases a diverse array of flora from various regions including South America, China, East Africa, New Zealand, South East Asia, North America as well as Australian natives.
Mount Lofty Botanic Garden is a fantastic spot for a one-day getaway to unwind and recharge. Whether you’re looking to escape the city for a few hours or spend a peaceful day surrounded by nature, this place delivers a refreshing experience every time. We’ve visited across all four seasons, and each season brings its own charm and atmosphere—from the vibrant blossoms of spring to the crisp serenity of winter. One of the highlights is spotting wallabies and kangaroos in their natural habitat. It’s always a joy to see them hopping around, adding a touch of wild beauty to the surroundings. The Rhododendron Garden is particularly stunning when in bloom, but even outside its peak season, the greenery and layout make it worth exploring. It’s a great place for a dry picnic, so be sure to bring your own food, drinks, and a picnic rug, mat, or towel. There are plenty of open areas to sit back, relax, and enjoy a meal amidst peaceful scenery. Whether you’re going solo, as a couple, or with family and friends, the atmosphere is calm, welcoming, and ideal for some quality downtime. Highly recommended for nature lovers and anyone needing a quick refresh without venturing too far.

Mount Lofty Botanical Gardens WOW what a display of colour. The Rhododendron Trail was spectacular the vibrant display of colour and liter hundred of different colours. Magnolia Gully blooms were just getting started a great variety of blooms The main lake was alive with bird life. We had such a great time the trails up and down the hull never seemed to both us. Well done everyone who maintains these gardens.

Mount Lofty Botanic Garden is truly one of Adelaide’s hidden gems. The gardens are beautifully maintained and offer something special in every season — from the vibrant autumn leaves to the colourful spring blooms. The walking trails are well-marked, and there’s so much to explore, whether you want a gentle stroll or a more challenging hike. I loved wandering through the different sections, especially the cool-climate plants and the fern gullies — it feels like you’re walking through a fairytale forest at times! The views across the Adelaide Hills are stunning, and there are plenty of peaceful spots to sit and have a picnic. It’s a fantastic place for photographers, families, or anyone who just wants to escape the city for a while and reconnect with nature. The only tip is to wear good walking shoes — some paths can be quite steep. And bring a jacket, as it can be cooler up there. Overall, I highly recommend Mount Lofty Botanic Garden — it’s a perfect day out for nature lovers and a beautiful reminder of how special the Adelaide Hills are.

We had a wonderful time exploring the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden. By chance, we arrived just as a free guided walking tour was starting, and it turned out to be the highlight of our visit. Our guide, volunteer Henry Krichauff, was knowledgeable, engaging, and truly inspiring — incredibly fit and active at his age. The gardens themselves are beautifully maintained, vibrant, and full of scenic walking trails that make for a relaxing day out. Parking is also convenient and affordable, with full-day parking available for just $4.40. A peaceful and enriching place to spend a few hours or even a whole day.

Visitors can enjoy hands-on experiences such as holding a koala, hand-feeding kangaroos, or patting a wombat.
Excellent wildlife park in Adelaide. I have visited various wildlife parks in Australia, which are the best in my experience. The park is clean, very animal-friendly, looks excellent, and the staff are friendly and can feel their passion and love for the animals. The koala experience is fantastic; it makes my day and life. Transportation to this park is not convenient, but it's great to make it separate from the polluted world. Keep it up and never get old. Hope this park can remain green forever.

12 Years since my last visit and I’m so pleased to see the park is still doing great! A wonder experience to walk around and seeing the animals have the freedom to roam around without tight caged restrictions like other zoos. Highly recommend their animal experiences on top of an explore around the park!

Overall Parks ok did enjoy the visit, just a couple little areas that I think need work, one of those been the males toilets which were reasonably clean except the hand dryers, one wasn’t work and the other one is absolutely filthy I opted to dry my hands on my jumper as I didn’t want to put my hands in there before eating. Food was ok just need a better explanation on your Ham toasted wraps as I brought for my son and didn’t realise it had tomatoe Spinach and Onion, maybe I should of asked but by the label just assumed ham and cheese. Other than that the staff were friendly and I said previously enjoyed the park.

It's good 3.5, the area is large and clean, the animals are well looked after. I was slightly disappointed in the lack of different species/animals but the ones that are there are well kept & surrounded by more of a natural setting. If you're looking for a nice open nature park, this one is for you. If you want more variety of animals, go to Gorge Wildlife Park.
Aerwyn — Google review
Great experience getting to see some animals up close and getting to feed them. Lots of kangaroos to feed in a big, open area. (They also have roped-off sections where the kangaroos can go to keep people away from them if they are tired. That was nice for the roos!) Nice park with different animals and birds to see. Highly recommended for people of any age!

I am a local and always recommend visiting Cleland. My partner and I spent out anniversary there this visit and it was a relaxing time on a beautiful day. Saw lots of animals and there are so many different talks that happen throughout the day that there are always things to do and see here.

Absolutely loved seeing, feeding, and stroking the kangaroos, wallabies, and potoroos! Plenty were very friendly and would happily come right up to you for food. Also liked that the animals did have spaces to go to if they wanted to be left alone. Watched a few talks as well, which were great and informative. Could tell that the keepers highly enjoy their jobs and have a lot of love for the animals they're looking after.

A great spot for families to spend a couple of hours. The drive through the hills is quite scenic. At the location, you’ll find a few animals and birds, including kangaroos, alpacas, some peacocks, etc. The entry price is reasonable, though they could consider offering a slightly cheaper package for families. There’s also a nice café on-site.

Big Rocking Horse, Adelaide – Great Family Spot We visited today and really enjoyed it! Entry to the Big Rocking Horse is only $2 per person, which is great value. Climbing to the top is fun but a bit hard for older people since it’s all ladders — kids will love it! There’s a nice café next to the horse with good food at reasonable prices. The animal park beside it costs $7 per person, where you can feed and touch the animals — great fun for children and adults too. Toilets are available and clean. Overall, a fun, affordable, and family-friendly place to visit!

This was/is a special place. So quiet, just gorgeous setting. I would come back here in a heartbeat. The one thing I would have wanted to know is the nearest restaurant is in town so plan on driving 8 minutes for dinner. That being said, I hit foodland and enjoyed having my own meals after some wine tasting. The BBQ facilities were great. The beauty of the property is indescribable. I hope to return

Rustic isolated cabin for escape and rest. Loft bedroom could challenge physically but large spa tub and cozy setting make for nice getaway outside of Tanunda. Long(ish) walk to Rockford and Charles Melton but adjacent to Woorooroo tasting room.

We had a wonderful stay in the Orchard and Seville Suites in Jacobs Creek Retreat for 3 nights in late Sep, 2024. The suites were beautifully decorated and surrounding gardens were stunning. Jerry was highly responsive and most helpful in sharing local tips. At sunrise, we saw kangaroos near the vineyards behind the retreat which was amazing! On our final evening, Jerry made special arrangements in the Orchard Suite for us to dine in style. All in all, I highly recommend the retreat as it’s very charming and zen and in close proximity of the town of Tanunda where we found lovely restaurants. The Barossa Valley has so much to offer and staying somewhere like Jacobs Creek Retreat made our experience that much more special.

The rustic charm suite had all the amenities we needed including a lively spa bath. Highly recommend this place and will be back in the future.

Rockford Wines is a historic stone building that offers sales and tastings of locally made wines, as well as sauces and chutneys. The winery features traditionally made, small-range wines, including reds from smaller labels like Teusner, Langmeil, Kalleske, and others. Visitors can witness the wine-making process and even see grape vines being shoveled into an antique grape de-vining machine. The staff is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the wines they offer.
This Winery was so good, it ruined it for all the others! Small, intimate winery made traditionally meant every type was smooth, easy to drink, and just delicious. You can absolutely taste the difference between Rockford Wines and other local mass-produced wines. Free wine tasting was a bonus, and staff were very knowledgeable about the grapes and whole wine making process. Highly recommended.

Went on a Tuesday. Gorgeous place and vibes. Wines are impeccable. Light and tasty and the basket press is unique and definitely needs to be tasted. The highlight though was the service. For 25 years I’ve always said If I had a weekend to live I’d spend it at Alain Ducasse’s Bastide de Moustiers in Provence (scoffing down the Truffle gnocchi). Having now had my first Stonewallers lunch, I’ve revised my desired last moment to be sipping Black Shiraz in front of the fire in the Rockford Cellar door (after lunch). Stellar wine, made and shared by stellar people in a setting to die for ( but not just yet) 😊

A MUST STOP winery in the Barossa. Absolutely fantastic, unique and wonderful winery. Kris ran us through a free tasting of their 10 wines. She did a fantastic job and was very knowledgeable, friendly and kind. The winery itself was beautiful, we were there in May so couldn’t see everything functioning. However, come from on Feb-April and you will see it all in full working order. It’s incredible. The old buildings and autum leaves were INCREIDBLE. All their wine was delicious and we ended up buying a few bottles!

Chateau Tanunda is a historic 19th-century winery in Barossa, with guided tours and tastings. The estate boasts beautiful gardens and a cricket oval, making it an ideal spot for a picnic. Its rich history dates back to the 1840s when Prussians first migrated to the Barossa. Visitors can enjoy scenic routes from Tanunda to Angaston via Bethany, offering stunning valley views.
Lovely visit. This place was the biggest winery in the Barossa valley. The staff was able to accommodate us for a nice tasting session. We learned a lot interest facts about wine and grapes in this region. Not normally a fan of wine but I found some wine I liked here. The cellar was also a bit of a museum. Lovely team members here helped us through everything. The front of the building faces the valley plain which boasts a superb view!

About an hour's drive from Adelaide, this vineyard is great for wine lovers and even if you are not, you can head over for a detailed explanation on how wines are made and have a wine tasting experience. What I liked about this Chateau was that during the class where they shared about their wines, every attempt was made to help you appreciate their products, and they even provided coloured notes for you to keep, after their guided tour. A recommended vineyard to visit.

This is absolutely stunning!!!! A must see if you’re in the Barossa. The chateau is beautiful… the hounds are stunning… and the cellar door is opulent. We opted for a tasting and our host Rachel was fabulous… she explained the wines in detail and gave us a history of the chateau which was fascinating. You absolutely must put this on your list to visit in the Barossa, there are a lot of “commercial” wineries in the Barossa, but this one was an absolute standout for us. Great service and amazing overall experience. We loved the Tawny, shiraz ( old vine) Shame they don’t promote themselves on trip advisor etc… but maybe they’re happy enough with the number of visitors they get .

We made a quick stop here and opted for the Explorer Tasting. The staff member looking after us was incredibly generous, expanding the experience to include sparkling, several Shiraz and port options, and even some whites. While the overall style wasn’t exactly to my taste, we did find a couple of reds and a port we really enjoyed and took a bottle or two home. The premises are impressive, and the staff are both knowledgeable and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit.

We had an excellent experience at Chateau Tanunda. The private tour and tasting was well worth it and we were delighted by our guide, Roslyn, who was charming and well-informed about both the wine and history of the site. The wines were exquisite too. A must do in the Barossa Valley!

Nice and beautiful place. Historical, Typicity and quality wines producing in Barossa Valley. Current Prime Ministet of Australia Mr. Anthony, current China President Mr. Xi and previous US PM Mr Obama did drink the wine produce in here. There is picture in the the wines tasting area to prove it. The staff is well trained and familiar with the wines. They introduce the wines one by one while you taste it. Personally recommend to taste those award winning wines. It is rather enjoying and delight, you definite will find one that suit you.

Seppeltsfield Wines is a long-standing wine estate in Barossa Valley, known for its airy tasting room, tours, restaurant, and picnic area. The estate features a brand new cellar door complex with excellent restaurants and offers unique experiences like winery tours where you can taste wine from your birth year. Visitors can also explore the vineyard areas on Segway tours for about an hour to enjoy scenic photo opportunities.
It was a recommendation from my sister in-law to my wife that we had to visit here with our friends on this trip. This is definitely a beautiful place, we first had a quick bite and the cafe then attended the wine tasting. Our host was Russell and he was magnificent. After I advised him that I don't drink wine so there was only going to be 3x of us tasting wines, he offered their excellent cordial. So it was just my Mrs and our friends going to taste their wines. Myself together with our friends younger son were going to drink the Cordial. I was impressed. The wine tasting went well, we left with 3x bottles and our friends with 2. One of ours was the Cordial. We will def enjoy this.

A lovely place to try 10/10 wine and walk around. Marcus was knowledgable, kind, and welcoming. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area- worth the drive from Adelaide.

I did the luxury wine tasting and it was excellent. We sampled four wines, along with a wine they classed as an “old fashioned,” which was a lovely surprise. The reds were the highlight for me I could have easily walked out with several bottles! Next time, I’ll definitely book into their restaurant, which offers a set four-course menu. The venue also has a small gin distillery and a wellness centre with handmade soaps and skincare products, which I’d love to explore more on my next visit. The scenery and buildings are beautiful, easy to get to, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend visiting I’ll definitely be going back.

Absolutely loved this winery … the estate is absolutely beautiful and plenty to see and do. Ideal for families and couples! Shoutout to Russell… he was extremely knowledgeable in the tasting rooms and we really appreciated his expertise and friendly attitude.

I had a wonderful experience here with the team. Hannah and Marcus were absolutely fantastic and have extensive, very technical knowledge of their wine and the winery.

We had a fantastic tasting experience with Russell yesterday. He was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, making the whole experience both informative and enjoyable. What really stood out was his passion and the way he shared the stories behind the wines. A highlight was being shown into the cellar where over 100 years of port is stored—an unforgettable moment. Highly recommend a visit with Russell if you want a truly memorable tasting.

A must visit if you are wine touring South Australia. We booked the Great Terraced Vineyard tour and the Seppeltsfield Fino Signature Experience. The first experience took us through different parts of the estate and vineyard to understand the history and mechanics of winemaking. Our guide was very kind to tailor the wine tasting to be a more academic one that contrasted different vineyards and vintages. The second experience took us to the centennial cellar to taste their 1925 tawny that was directly drawn from the barrel. After that, we enjoyed a long, relaxed, and delicious lunch with wine pairing at Fino. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed this place. We were there for the fortified. The young man that served us was knowledgeable, very friendly. He really cared about our experience. Took the time to share his knowledge, making sure we had enough information to make an informed purchasing decision. We bought 6 bottles to be delivered back to Melbourne. Delivery was quick.

We felt very welcome and the service was friendly My Uncle's wake was held here and we found the staff were caring and kind. Thank you for providing this wonderful afternoon for our family to share stories during this difficult time. Afternoon tea was divine.

Was greeted at the door by a warm and friendly gentleman who gave me an insightful run down on the exhibition before leaving me to admire the surreal display at my own pace. An absolute awesome display, given the area they have it certainly rivals the Australian war memorial in Canberra. A real tribute to our service people and a true asset to the community and Australians alike. Thanks to all concerned. Good for a cold beer a feed and yarn too.

Nice place, very well displayed and staff willing to spend some time explaining interesting facts about the war! Was on a road trip and decided to stop there, I was exhausted but they made us fell comfortable and welcome.

It was fantastic to visit the Port Pirie RSL. We came here the 6th march 2022. For a Gold coin donation we were able to see the museum and received an informative guided tour. There was interesting displays and lots of local history. Congratulations to the Port Pirie RSL, it's volunteers and members for all their dedication and hard work. They are very friendly and welcoming. Well worth a visit and a cold drink after your tour.

Great little spot, toilets and playground close by. My children enjoyed searching for crabs under the rocky beach but not so much the amount of flies lol

A typical lighthouse with cottages near by. First light exhibited in 1883. Close to where the cuttlefish mate over winter.

Pretty standard light house. No access and currently has a fence around the bass. Pretty spot overlooking a commercial port and the gulf.

It's a good half hour drive from whyalla. Easy drive right to the end of the lighthouse. Good view looking out to sea and towards whyalla.

Awesome, first day we had out of the wind!!!! Wafer was beautiful, people were catching fish, young kids could swim protected in the boat ramp area, and $10 a night self sufficient camping!!!! Awesome!!!

This is a great place to stay with a large group of people (3 bedroom + sleepout cottage). We stayed with family (19 people) and it kept everyone comfortable. Plenty of beds (lots of bunks) for everyone. Basic shower and toilet facilities. Good sized kitchen/fenced yard and laundry. Everyone enjoyed strolls along the beach, lighthouse and surrounding bush area. Playground about 600m away. Plenty of wildlife and fishing to enjoy. No tv, but that's why you go with a large group of people (just chill and relax). Will do it again.
