Masjid Raya An Nur, established in 1968, is a stunning architectural marvel located in Pekanbaru. Often referred to as the 'Taj Mahal of Pekanbaru,' this grand mosque showcases an impressive blend of Malay, Turkish, Arabic, and Indian design elements. With its ten domes and four minarets, it can accommodate up to 4,500 worshipers within its spacious three-story complex.
Spacious mosque and an icon of Pekanbaru. First-timers, note that the prayer area is on the second floor, not the first. If you enter from the back, finding the stairs can be tricky.
KT S — Google review
Big and beautiful mosque in the city center of Pekanbaru, capital of Riau province. It has vast courtyard with many functional rooms and meeting spaces on the first floor and the praying space on the second floor. The courtyard has big umbrellas as well, somehow remind me of Nabawi mosque in Madinah. The praying room is spacious, clean and well maintained. The carpet is also clean. At the ladies area, there are clean praying attires or Mukena that we can use. The ablution room is also big and clean. Love it! The parking lot is also spacious. At the entrance I saw ramps for ♿️. But to go up to the praying area on the second floor, I only see the stairs. Maybe they have dedicated room for those using wheelchairs on the first floor.
Indah S — Google review
I've seen much better provincial mosques. The interior seemed old. The outdoor white tile was so slippery
Tez I — Google review
very big mousqe in Pekanbaru.. praying area situated on 2nd floor.. clean and comfortable properly..
Adhiputro A — Google review
Beautiful mosque in Pekanbaru, Riau, Sumatra. Built between 1963-1968. Architecturally, An-Nur is similar to the Indian Taj Mahal. The mosque was designed by Ir. Roseno. The building consists of three floors; the top level is used for prayer and the lower level for offices and meeting rooms. Tourists: make sure to be properly dressed (head scarf, fully dressed, bare foot). Pekanbaru citizens are not used to tourists at all, so they will be curious and children might ask if you are willing to take a photo with them.
Cloud K — Google review
What a unique experience we were able to share with our friends here in Pekanbaru as they shared their religion and culture with us. We had never been to a mosque before or attended prayers at one. This mosque is beautiful, and we were able to explore and take pictures.

It’s Big.. yeah Really really big Mosque MashaAllah.. so blessed have been here in Ramadhan. When you in pekanbaru you have to visit this mosque, huge parking space and outdoor area, huge pray area inside the second floor. A very soothing place in the city of Pekanbaru Riau.

Biggest mosque in Pekanbaru, huge parking space but not much tree, air conditioned, very cool inside, nice ornament, the good thing is that there is an escalator , instead of a stairs

The library boasts an extensive collection, comfortable reading areas, and various amenities such as a restaurant, mosque, large parking area, fish tank, garden, and Wi-Fi on every floor of its 5-story building.
Nice ambience, solid array of collections, albeit a little old. Would be better if open until night, as people have more free time after office hours.

The biggest library in Riau, the conditions was clean and tidy. The service was friendly, the instructions are clear so that all visitors can be comfortable doing activities. Mal Ciputra Seraya is a popular shopping destination in Pekanbaru, known for its variety of outlets and shops. Despite its smaller size, it attracts many locals and travelers due to its great cinema, making it one of the few malls in the area with this feature. The mall offers a range of clothing stores, chain restaurants, coffee shops, and a good-sized supermarket. Its spacious parking and pleasant atmosphere make it an inviting place for mid-class customers to shop and dine.
Quite a good size mall for mid-class customers. Some clothing and apparel stores, good chain restaurants and coffee shops. A good size supermarket as well. Spacious parking and pleasant atmosphere. This mall located next to Novotel and across Fox Harris hotels.

Ciputra Mal is near from my house. We went here for shopping, refreshing, eating in the weekend.
Novianti A — Google review
Relatively small-sized Mall in Pekanbaru, but packed with lots of places to visit. Fashion centre, culinary, cinemas, supermarket, pharmacy, electronics and more. Toilets were clean, but the prayers room should be improved. Parking lots is, well, lots of problems. Parking space is really lacking for a crowded mall, parking system is such a big business opportunity as well, such as showing available parking place, but there isn't. Or you can put your vehicle outside if you wish, i'm not.
Ketoprak — Google review
Compact and have enough place to visit. Kids playing ground looks new, clean and bright lighting.. Car park seems to be an issue during weekend, not enough space but overall, it is a good place to hang out

This place is best choice for you, your children and family, they have some game zone, even the one that take your adrenalin. However it seems not well managed, ground area that have not cemented make the floor and even the water is dirty. More than that if you visit during working hours you just pay Rp.15.000/persons but at the weekends it is Rp.20.000/persons.

Shopping
Transmart Pekanbaru is a massive supermarket that offers not only daily necessities but also restaurants and entertainment options. It features complete facilities including Trans Studio Mini rides, dining outlets, shopping areas, CGV Cinemas, and more. While it's a cool place to shop and enjoy with family, some find it pricey compared to other malls in the area. The mall provides a good environment for family activities such as drawing events and has different levels offering various attractions for kids and adults.
A very good place to chill with family and kids. Family event where kids, parents do drawing together. Ground floor has no much attraction & not organised and 2nd floor is a bit organised good and 3rd floor with kids section and to have fun
W S — Google review
Cool place to shop and bring your children. But if you are price conscious then it might not be the best place for you. It's a new conceptual frame for shopping in the neighborhood but it's not good for you, if you want to stop by and pick up a few things, as the parkir charge is quite higher than other malls. Even, the kartu game is 100.000 rp which is almost 2 times than other malls.
Mohammed M — Google review
This place is so amazing. For The first week opening this mart, many citizens have visited this place. My experience about this place is a innovation mart in pekanbaru and I'm satisfied with the facility and The park is very joy.
Mbagaskoro — Google review
The staff working in the supermarket would deserve 5 stars for their kindness and politeness. But the supermarket is really below anyone's expectations. Scarce variety (employees evidently try their best to spread the same items along the shelves to cover a LOT of empty spaces) many of the products don't have the due price tag, some areas smell like unclean, and the "fresh" products are anything except fresh, some of them are even rotten (check the photos) On top of that, prices are really high compared to other supermarkets.
Maria G — Google review
One of the new mall in Pekanbaru city. Its is transmart retail shop. This mall have mini trans studio, so its right place for spend your time with your family.
Rizki I — Google review
Very nice place for people in pekanbaru
HELMI A — Google review
I like this place. Can shop groceries, clothing, eat and play all in one place. 1 give 4 star because the cleanliness need major improvement or it will look rundown after a while, the ticket for the amusement park on 4th floor is too expensive. I sugest them to make day pass or such so visitor can play all they like at a price. This is major marketing defect.
Jessica S — Google review
This place is quite crowded especially when it's a weekend, it's different from Transmart Carrefour Tangerang Center and South Tangerang which are even quiet when the weekend. There were still many empty stands when I went there. There was a lot that needed to be fixed about the arrangement of the items in here.

SKA Mall, Pekanbaru

Mentioned on
5 lists
Shopping mall
Shopping
Mal SKA, or Mal Sentral Komersil Arengka, is a vibrant shopping destination in Pekanbaru that truly embodies the essence of modern retail therapy. Nestled at the intersection of Jalan Soekarno-Hatta and Jalan Tuanku Tambusai/Nangka, this expansive mall boasts an impressive array of stores ranging from fashion boutiques to casual dining options. Visitors can enjoy a delightful food court experience or catch the latest films at its cinema located on the upper floor.
Mal ska Pekan Baru is the biggest mall at pekan baru i think. At least has 4 main entrance from 4 side and many lobby. Right now they upgrading the upper floor. Majority stand or store had filled. Cinema at top floor and supermarket like hypermarket at bottom floor. So many type and kind of store include food and beverage are opening there. For Moslem there's a public prayer room for visitors and employers to do prayer. Parking lot is big enough likes building that built in with mall, but something weird i guess is to enter the parking building from Street lintas timur Sumatera outside then make u turn to left then climb right to level three after make turn right left and right also take distance far enough. The building spend much space just only to build climbing to top building for parking. Overall this shopping mall is nice to shop, dine, play, leisure and hangout.
Loka N — Google review
One of the most favourite mall of Pekanbaru. Always crowded and heavy traffic jam on saturday and sunday. If you want to go to the hypermart the escalator is behind the A&W restaurant. Not too many choices of food restaurant, i ended up at chir chir, good food but a bit expensive. Modern mall. For me, the best is the arcade, very positive and educative for kids which is located on the top floor of the mall.
Eric T — Google review
Mall with largest parking lot. Since they renovate larger, restaurants and snack tenants are more complete. One thing I like the most about SKA is they left several squat toilets. Mall's design flaw is it is square shaped, make you need to take a big turn if walk wrong way.
Suhery — Google review
I very loved this mall, this mall got games, cinema theater, shopping, hair salon, et cetera.
Timothy ( — Google review
Good mall with many shops, catch a movie, eat fast food, drink kopi. Go thru the underpass to cross to Living Mall.
Wilson Y — Google review
Very good and a clean big mall. But often it's really hard to find parking because too many people are shopping and hanging out with friends but I still love the mall. Lots of restaurants, cafés, stores and an ice skating rink. But I haven't gone to the ice rink before.
Hans G — Google review
As a first time goer I would say it's okay with the location and providings. You would find a lot of cheaper products than a few minutes away from Transmart. Relatively small though it has some world famous brand outlets.

Istano Basa Pagaruyung, the stately 17th-century palace of the former Pagaruyung Kingdom, is nestled amidst lush hills and landscapes. The original structure was crafted from timber masonry, but it has been reconstructed using a modern concrete frame. Despite the loss of some art displays due to a fire in 2007, the palace still exudes architectural grandeur and offers insight into Minangkabau culture.
Such a magnificent Palace (replica) from the late kingdom in Western Sumatra around 17th century.

Well. As a national treasure heritage, the palace was stunning. Amazing building with so impressive story of minangkabau. But as tourist we want to be threated more affordable price of traditional costume rent and taking picture by their photographer.

What an iconic palace in west sumatera. one of the biggest and a proof of historical kingdom that ever existed

Worth to visit. It was clean and well-maintained. Beautiful architecture and unique culture. Unfortunately, it was too quiet inside of the castle. Better to add some traditional music or instrument to give more Minangkabau vibes.
Hadi H — Google review
Beautiful & huge traditional castle from the Kingdom of Pagaruyung. This one is actually the third replica, after the first and the second caught in fire. Such a masterpiece in architectural design, have look closer to the pillars inside where they have few degrees non-straight structure. The carving is mesmerizing as well. I suggest you to come on the weekdays and after 3pm to have more time walking around, admiring every single details of the castle.

This is just a symbolic palace. Location and the parts are not real. For photo and see how it looks like you may visit. But not very interesting to me.

The place you must visit in West Sumatera. Legendary Traditional Minang Palace. Great architecture with three levels of building, nice scenery, spacious parking area. nice facility, unfortunately the stalls are mostly empty. You can rent the traditional Suntiang Dress for photos.

Mount Marapi, standing at 2,891 meters tall, is an active volcano located in the West Sumatra province of Indonesia. It offers a hiking trail that provides breathtaking views from the summit of nearby towns and landscapes. The area surrounding Mount Marapi is rich in natural beauty and cultural experiences, with attractions like Lembah Anai Waterfall and Maninjau Lake offering scenic panoramas.
A popular recreational place for locals, and lesser known amongst tourists. Came on a Saturday morning and our group were the only people on the peak. The hike can be done in a day. That said the climb wont be easy without a minimum level of fitness. We reached the peak slightly after 5am and were ill prepared for the wind and cold (~5degrees)

The dirtiest mountain i have ever climbed. 4 hours going up through tons of waste (and another for to go down) made our climbing a nightmare. at least views from the top of the vulcano where impressing, but it was a disgusting journey...
Álvaro V — Google review
Beautiful volcano, great views from the top...No need for a guide, the way up is straightforward and if in doubt use MapsMe as it is detailed there. Took us 3hrs to go up from the warung where you register, going down was a bit more painful though. A lot of trash along the path but the crater and views from top are great.
LuciaB — Google review
Amazing. Quite popular among local students. Can get slippery during rain. No need of a guide, path is clear. We managed in a day but would be nice to camp up there. Entrance for Indonesians 10000, need to negotiate for buleh.
Jakub T — Google review
What a wonderful hike ! we started bit before midnight from the control point. entrance was 25k IDR. Make sure you have comfortable shoes, good warm clothes, flashlights, food and water with you. To get up it took us around 6 hours. the trial is easy to follow but some steps are quite high and tricky to do ( especially in the dark) there is might be moments when you are completely alone on trail or going together with local kids ( with tents and all the camp gear) Sad part is atet there is a lot of trash , and no place where to put it ... We did took ll of our trash back and made sure to bring also others back as much as we could ! Sunrise view is stunning, mixed with the huge crater and complete emptiness. It definitely made one my favourite hikes. You get on top of the mountains and top of the clouds with small opening towards the city and jungle. On the way back we spent less time and energy but still 4,5 hours. Track was wet and slippery in some places as well foggy for the period we had to go trough the clouds. No need for personal guide if you have some bravery and experience in hiking. How ever guide is not a bad choice to make your trip more secure and contribute to local community. Check more photos from my IG @mrgints I acne also give other tips around Sumatra, Bukkittingi, Psaman , Padang and other not so discovered places around West Sumatra.

This review is from a climb of Mount Marapi my wife and I did in June 1977 so it's a bit dated. :) Our morning hike in daylight was straightforward and we encountered only one other person en route, a young Indonesian. The summit was partly cloudy with excellent views and we did not see any of the massive garbage that evidently now covers the route. It's a shameful desecration of the mountain. The volcano gods are angry and Mount Marapi will erupt again with fury.

Most favorite place to hacking or climbing to peak of Marapi Mount. Event a lot missing climber during climbing the mount but still favorite for climber. Marapi still under active volcano in west sumatera, wild life still maintain event enlarge resident area or business project around marapi mount. The Bung Hatta Birthplace Museum, located in Kota Bukittinggi, Sumatera Barat, Indonesia, is a reconstructed building that closely resembles the original residence of Muhammad Hatta during his childhood. This museum offers a keen insight into the life and political career of Bung Hatta, known as the founder of the Republic of Indonesia. Visitors can explore the living museum inside the house where Hatta was born to learn about his life and legacy as an Indonesian founding father.
Superb display of iconic indonesian scholar, a must visit if you come to Danau Menanjau!

Bung Hatta Birthplace Museum in Bukittinggi is a significant historical site, dedicated to Indonesia's founding father and the first Vice President, Bung Hatta. The museum offers valuable insights into his life, his role in Indonesia's independence, and his contributions to the country’s development. However, it deserves more promotion, especially among local young people, as it provides an inspiring narrative of perseverance, leadership, and patriotism. Many young visitors could learn important life lessons from Bung Hatta’s ideals and struggles. By raising awareness and encouraging visits, the museum could serve as a powerful source of inspiration and education for the younger generation, helping them connect with Indonesia's rich history.

Bung Hatta Birthplace Museum is a small but meaningful tribute to the life and legacy of West Sumatra's beloved leader, Sukarno's right-hand man, and one of Indonesia's founding fathers. The museum offers a glimpse into Hatta's early life and his struggle for independence. Located in his birthplace, it provides a unique perspective on the region's history and the role Hatta played in shaping Indonesia. A brief but impactful visit when you're in Bukittinggi!

The museum is clean and well maintained. The good place to learn Bung Hatta while he was in his hometown. However, it will be more good if there is a tour-guide who can speak English so that if there is foreign tourist, they are not confusing when visiting this palace. No accommodation is needed to pay the ticket.

Taman Margasatwa dan Budaya Kinantan, also known as Kebun Binatang Kebun Tinggi, is a popular tourist destination in Bukittinggi. This attraction, dating back to the Dutch colonial era, features a diverse collection of wildlife and a traditional Minangkabau hall called Rumah Adat Bajuang. Additionally, visitors can explore historical sites like Fort de Kock and the ancient Limpapeh suspension bridge connected to the park.
Visited Zoo today after checking out Fort next door. Saw some interesting animals and reptiles. Sumatran Tiger, Tapir, a few Crocodiles. Enclosed large Bird Aviary. Lots of pythons. Some parts of the Zoo need maintenance. The two Elephants were tethered by leg rope when I arrived. They were fed and hosed down with water while I was there. Hopefully they aren't tied up all day. The Orangutan Male looked lonely in his enclosure. Entrance fee is 50k for tourists. Locals cheaper. It's worth a visit if your in Bukittinggi. Every rupiah helps. Good view of City from the bridge between Zoo and Fort.

A cool all-in-one place in Bukittinggi — zoo, Minang cultural house, and a hanging bridge to Fort de Kock. The animals are pretty nice, the vibes are chill, and it’s great for families. Some parts could use a little upkeep, but it’s still a fun spot to hang out!
Syakira — Google review
Heartbreaking from the beginning to the end… Don’t go there unless you want to witness how cruel human can be I bought the ticket for fort Kock without knowing it gave access to the zoo, the fort wasn’t even worth it. I knew the zoo would be bad but I went there to witness it : the first thing you see are two elephants chained to the ground with just 1-2m of freedom, one of them wasn’t able to trim its tusks which were too long for him and where bothering him. Then you can see birds, reptiles, monkey, bears,… in very small and dirty (there were rats eating the animals food) enclosures made of concrete or iron fences. On top of that, most local visitors are knocking on the enclosures to wake the animals and get a good picture. I couldn’t see any signs from the zoo to raise awareness about animal wellbeing.
Erwan A — Google review
It's good to be here. I hope every animal get healthy and good place. Everyone that visit this place feeling enjoy and fun. Thanks you...

Very sad zoo. No space for the animals and rotten infrastructure. The Apes and elephants have a very sad life. The snake are in a poor security glass boxes. A brocken broom stick, is not Security!
Freddy M — Google review
Located in the middle of Bukittinggi. Easy to find. A good place to take the children to explore the culture of Minangkabau and see different animals. I visited the place during the holiday season and it's very crowded but still clean enough. The zoo has some animals, unfortunately, their conditions are not well. The animals look hungry and people keep giving random food to them. Not many chairs for people to sit around. People often bring their own mattress here. #bukittinggi
Lita Y — Google review
It’s just depressing. Tied up and chained so all they can do is just move forwards and backwards in one spot. Most of the animals are in bad shape or don’t have proper enclosures. Don’t support this zoo
MTBtom — Google review
The animals here are miserable. They have no space to roam, their habitats are lacking, and it's clear they are not properly cared for. The enclosures are dirty, the animals look unwell. The elephants are chained up and one has its tucked crossed together in a clear sign of neglect. I feel this place should be closed down. Very upsetting to visit here.

Jembatan Limpapeh

Sights & Landmarks
Jembatan Limpapeh, a stunning suspension bridge in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, is a must-visit landmark that beautifully showcases the region's Minangkabau architecture. Completed in 1995, this vibrant yellow and red structure spans 90 meters and connects the historic Fort de Kock with the Taman Budaya dan Margasatwa Kinantan. As you walk across this bridge, you'll experience a thrilling sensation as it gently sways beneath your feet.
I visited Jembatan Limpapeh when I was in Bukittinggi, and I was impressed by its unique design and history. Jembatan Limpapeh is a yellow and red suspension bridge that connects Benteng Fort de Kock, a Dutch colonial fort, with Taman Budaya dan Margasatwa Kinantan, a cultural and wildlife park. The bridge is 90 meters long and 3.8 meters wide, and it crosses over a busy street and a market. The bridge was built in 1995 from steel materials, and it has a distinctive Sumatran style. It is one of the icons of Bukittinggi, along with Jam Gadang, the clock tower. From the bridge, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the city and the surrounding hills. You can also see the traditional Minangkabau houses and the giant Rafflesia flowers in the park. The bridge is a great place to take photos, especially at night when it is illuminated by colorful lights. It is also a convenient way to access the fort and the park, which are both worth visiting. The fort has a museum and a cannon, and the park has various animals and plants. You can also try some local delicacies at the stalls under the bridge. I recommend Jembatan Limpapeh to anyone who wants to experience the culture and nature of Bukittinggi. It is a beautiful and historic attraction that showcases the charm of Sumatra.

Arrived Bukittinggi today and visited Fort De Kock. Entrance fee 50k, for Bule tourist, which included Zoo entrance. Disappointed with Fort. Description said remnants of 19th century Dutch Fort. A few old canons, a 1935 concrete Tower, which the staff said I could not go into, lots of Gazebos on a hill. Imagination is the key here. Photo is 1826 drawing of Fort. I went to Fort de Kock as part of my trip to Bukittinggi, and I was fascinated by its historical significance and scenic location. Fort de Kock is a 19th-century Dutch fort that was built on a hill during the Padri War, a conflict between the local Minangkabau people and the colonial forces. The fort was named after Hendrik Merkus de Kock, the commander of the Dutch troops and the vice governor of the Dutch Indies at that time. The fort is not very big, but it has some interesting features, such as the old cannons, the stone monument, and the radio antenna tower. The tower offers a stunning view of the city and the surrounding mountains. You can also see the Limpapeh bridge, a colorful suspension bridge that connects the fort with the cultural and wildlife park across the street. The park has a zoo, a museum, and a traditional house that showcase the culture and nature of Sumatra. The fort is a great place to learn about the history and heritage of Bukittinggi and Sumatra. It is also a nice spot to relax and enjoy the fresh air and the green scenery. The entrance fee is very cheap, and there are some souvenir shops and food stalls nearby. I recommend Fort de Kock to anyone who visits Bukittinggi. It is a beautiful and historic attraction that you should not miss.

The Great Wall if Koto Gadang, people said. Steep paved ladder down to famous Ngarai Sianok. Above the river is sling bridge connecting 2 sides of the valley. If you want, you can walk to Goa Jepang from Koto Gadang's side.

Puncak Lawang is a picturesque hilltop viewpoint offering stunning panoramas of Maninjau Lake. Accessible by a scenic two-hour journey from Bukittinggi, the area is surrounded by tranquil fishing villages and lush paddy fields, providing a glimpse into the unhurried rural life of west Sumatra.
It was a scenic drive to the base and an easy climb on a short flight of steps to reach the summit. It was raining so we were deprived of the spectacular aerial view. However, it was breathtaking to be in the rain to enjoy nature.

Puncak Lawang is a true West Sumatran treasure perched high above Lake Maninjau. The panoramic view of the lake and misty hills below is simply mesmerizing, creating a serene and almost mystical atmosphere. The cool mountain air and peaceful surroundings make it an ideal spot to unwind and reconnect with nature. For thrill-seekers, there’s an exhilarating flying fox zip line that sends you gliding over the crater edge—an unforgettable rush! Plus, if you’re up for more adventure, paragliding is also available. With great views, fresh air, and fun activities, Puncak Lawang is a must-visit for both relaxation and excitement.

beautiful peak and mesmerising scenery but the road leading to this place is narrow and winding.

Really great place for sight seeing and chilling (literally). Best to bring a jacket because the breeze might be too chilly for some. There's a cafe / restaurant which you can go while enjoying the view. Be advised that outside foods and drinks are not allowed. Entry fee is Rp. 25,000.- per pax, this includes free parking and a few attractions.

Was all foggy when I visited.. was expecting to see the Maninjau Lake from the hill, wait for almost an hour and the fog was still there. 😅 Place was decent, many pine trees. Good for family outing, spacious place, flying fox, they also offer paragliding experience but the paragliding didnt operating when i was there maybe also due to the fog as well. There was also a restaurant there. Other than that nothing much, they have several selfie spot that you need to pay to take selfie at. Since Im not a fan of selfie tourism, it doesnt excite me at all.. Entrance fee was IDR20.000 if im not mistaken.

Wonderful scenery My experience: must through a long snake/s/crooked road on the way to this place by car. Feeling dizzy on the way🤢. Entry 20000 rupiah per person on weekday n 25000 rupiah per person on weekend. Parking free. Walk a bit to go to the spot. Breathtaking scenery, view of the lake, mountain, cold and calm wind (can hear the wind tho). Paragliding (not sure about the details), flyingfox (25000rupiah up to down, 50000 rupiah from up to down and down to top n 75000 rupiah for full plus with short track of 5 different type of hanging rope), a place to snap a picture with prop (15000 rupiah per prop) also a small place called ethnic village to snap a picture (free) Conclusion: amazing scenery to take a picture, plus a bit of activity to do while on top. BTW the place is still in renovation

Everyone who visit West Sumatra MUST COME here!!! Best scenery overlooking the Danau Maninjau. This wonderful view is not much different from Europe and yes Indonesia is beautiful if you like to explore not only Bali/Yogya. Here is the only place for Paragliding in Indonesia i think. If you love extreme sport, you can pay Rp 850.000 for playing. You can also pay Rp 25.000 for playing flying fox. I recommend to visit at the morning around 9-10. They also have restaurant upstairs to sit, chill and relax. Many photo spots as u can see on my pics. Highly recommended!!!!!

Absolutely stunning. If there are clouds, just wait. We took a taxi there from Bukittinggi and walked from the top to Maninjau, which is about 3 hours

The lake view was beautiful from Kelok 44, however no beach to enjoy at the lake. Too many people living closely to the lake. Many fish farms as well. We drove around the lake and some of the areas really got serious threat from the landfall.

You must be amazed by the great view of Lake Maninjau. The atmosphere was cold and very peaceful. Journey to Lake Maninjau is about one hour from the city of Bukit Tinggi. Need skillful driver to get there since the road is small and steep but the views on both sides of the road was amazing and really nice. A little tip, try to get there a little bit earlier in the morning since a lot of rain there, and the mist will cover the lake. When it happen you have no choice but seeing mist covering lake.

Huge and gorgeous lake for soul searching, fishing and maybe a night stay. Dont forget to try local delicacies along and around the lake.

A very scenic and breathtaking panorama there. One of the priceless view we won't forget all our lives. Scenics of the lake from the top is one of our utmost favorites.
Achik74us M — Google review
Serene and picturesque. Those who are into fishing can find a fishing spot somewhere by the lake
Fugu F — Google review
Peaceful and quiet place to read a book, except when all the mosques start their calls to prayer. Extremely loud. So choose your accommodation carefully. Lake water is terribly polluted because of the fish farming industry. Not very pleasant to be in or on the water with all the green algae. But tourists are few and that makes this place worth a visit to rest and relax.
