Wadi Rum Protected Area, also known as the Valley of the Moon, is a must-visit destination in Jordan. This iconic desert landscape has been featured in numerous films due to its otherworldly appearance. Visitors can stay at Bedouin camps and embark on 4x4 desert excursions to explore hidden caves, canyons, sand dunes, and springs.
Lovely people. Less scammers. Kind tribe Peaceful night with lovely star gazing experience. Very hot and dry so bring your face mist and a lot of sunscreen. Shout out to Eid and Zaed brothers who looked after us. Jeep tour and a lot of hiking. Bring lots of water and sun protection. Bring snacks as well. Please see the info re. Jeep tours

Wadi Rum may be a desert, but it's far from ordinary. This incredible landscape carries centuries of history — once a vital trade route linking Iran, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. With its dramatic red sands, towering rock formations, and wide-open silence, it's a place that leaves a lasting impression. Entry is free with the Jordan Pass, and once inside, a Jeep tour is a must. I highly recommend the 4-hour tour — it hits all the major highlights, gives you time to sip herbal tea in a local Bedouin village, and includes some adrenaline-pumping rides through the sand dunes. Our driver made the dune drifting part a blast — we couldn’t stop smiling! If you're planning to stay overnight (and you should!), book a tent inside the protected area. Watching the sunset fade into a night full of stars is a surreal experience. Don’t miss the stargazing tour — the desert sky here is unbelievably clear. Dinner is another highlight — a traditional meal slow-cooked underground in the sand for over three hours. The flavor and the experience both are unforgettable. Wadi Rum is more than just a desert — it’s an experience of nature, history, and Bedouin hospitality all in one. Absolutely worth the visit!
SONICK T — Google review
A magnificent, unforgettable view where the blue sky meets the orange dunes against the backdrop of majestic mountains. You can ride a jap or a camel, stroll through the dunes, sleep overnight in a tent or a cabin, or admire the starry night sky. I highly recommend it; it's an unforgettable experience.
Małgorzata B — Google review
Wadi Rum is where the Earth pretends to be Mars. It does a pretty convincing job: giant red cliffs, red sand, and silence so thick it hums .. its really, really quiet. Most people stay in one of the many bubble or dome camps, which look like space pods which are scattered all over the desert. These are great, but to really get a feel of the place you’ve got to explore. I hiked up to Burdah Rock Bridge (a 1.5 hour scramble worth every sweaty step) or wander the canyons. If you're staying overnight, one or two nights is perfect: long enough to feel lost in another world, short enough not to get bored.
Russell R — Google review
If you are travelling to Jordan don't miss this place. An overnight stay is a must to have a feel of the place. There are numerous Camps to suit everyone's budget. Took a jeep tour to visit the Protected Area and watch sunset. The organizers/ drivers are very nice and ensure that tourists get best experience. The highlight of the place is that it's a desert surrounded by mountains. Loved the experience and highly recommend a visit to this protected area.
Soudamini M — Google review
This place can't be more magical! No one visiting Jordan should skip this. The atmosphere, the weather, the view, and everything. It is just magical! We had a couple of hours ride tour. I found it a bit short honestly, but still enough to make sure I am coming again to visit at some point in my life. Highly recommend!!
Lara B — Google review
Wadi Rum is an otherworldly desert landscape filled with massive red sandstone mountains, deep canyons, and endless open valleys that look straight out of a movie—quite literally. This stunning desert has been the filming location for several iconic films, including “Lawrence of Arabia,” “The Martian,” “Dune,” and multiple sci-fi movies that use its surreal terrain as a stand-in for Mars. Riding through the desert—whether by jeep or on foot—lets you admire dramatic rock formations, ancient petroglyphs, and wide horizons that shift color with the sun. Sunrise and sunset are especially magical as the whole desert glows in shades of gold and red. At night, the silence and crystal-clear skies make Wadi Rum a perfect place for stargazing. Whether you’re climbing viewpoints, exploring natural arches, or simply enjoying the peaceful vastness, Wadi Rum is one of the most unforgettable landscapes in Jordan.
Antony L — Google review
Truly this is an amazing environment with stunning scenery and, if you take the chance, a peaceful place worth much more than a quick overnight stopover. Free entry with a Jordan pass. 4 wheel drive excursions a must to see the best of it. Oh and if there's no moon, do a star gazing trip to see the Milky Way and shooting stars 🌌☄️🌑 The only reason I haven't given it 5* is because of the rubbish which is being blown into the park from the nearby settlements and camps. It's crying out for a clean up 🥹

Visitors can explore a diverse range of local and international brand shops, indulge in delectable dining options at the food court, and enjoy family-friendly entertainment such as the Disney World with its exciting rides and games. The mall also features ample parking space and popular stores like H&M, Bath & Body Works, and Starbucks for a convenient shopping experience.
It is a very nice mall. Most of the brands available in Dhahran Mall are available here as well. I would recommend going here instead. But the only downside is, it doesn't have many cafe or Restaurants. Apart from this I did good purchase from here.
Noor F — Google review
It's been a long time since I was there last time, but it is improving and contains all the brands you need, there is an arcade game on the 3rd floor , the othaim supermarket is on the first floor along with a variety of shops, I advise everyone to go there, you will find your needs there whatever they are, the second floor has the city max and others. The only issue is that the mall is so big needing an information disc to guide you to the place that you want to go and a larger parking area as well

This mall has everything you could want under one roof. Great shopping options and plenty of shops. Food court is also available with several options. Well decorated with clean and modern layout. Parking was easy and the entire space felt safe and well-maintained. During the weekends will be crowded a bit especially the food court.
Marwan K — Google review
The mall was well lit and was very vibrant and spacious😀 The food court was enormous☺️ but I found a lot of pigeons flying around there There’s a big play area on the 3rd floor near the food court for kids to play around The restroom were clean and well maintained Overall it’s a good place to shop, play and spend time with our family 🤩

Visited the mall to pick some Zetun extra virgin olive oil from fiesta restaurant and had a tasty Mexican salade with salmon, coffee and kunafa from sadeddine is worth the experience
Houssem A — Google review
Mall is on good location, it's like a big ship. You will find many national and international brands of clothing and other household things. Mall top floor has food court and big area for kids entertainment. It includes many arcade games and different types of ride, swing etc. Food court has big sitting area. But on weekends it Will almost full. There is also hyper market with good promotions. Although parking area is limited. Good place to visit with kids, family indoor hangout. Please like this review if it's helpful for you.

Mena Holiday Beach Resort Half Moon

Hotel
Outdoor Activities
Mena Holiday Beach Resort Half Moon is a charming bayside getaway that offers cozy rooms and suites, perfect for those looking to unwind by the sea. With its own private beach and a medium-sized pool, guests can enjoy leisurely days soaking up the sun. While dining options are available on-site, meals such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner come at an additional cost.
It is cut off from city centre, so hungerstation doesnt deliver here, leaving no other choice than to rely on the menu by the resort.otherwise its got a beautiful coastline with swimming pool for kids
Nida S — Google review
The only good thing about this hotel is that it has a private beach. Food choices for breakfast is limited. Called the staff to clean our room but nobody came and when we insisted on having our room tidied up, the hotel staffs declined and said that they have other rooms to clean first (no guests). Dirty pool especially the kiddie pool. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place. Only come here if you’re on a tight budget and wanted to have a private beach.
Aprilyn — Google review
The place is very good and the beach is also inviting you to swim. A good plce to hold a big event for company gatherings or recollections. A lot of fun activity and sports you can do here because of theur wide amenities. The only thing i do not like or disappointed is their toilet/ washroom. They should change/replace or renovate their public toilet mostly the toilet bowl and sink. It is very important to attract more guests and custumers.
Sam P — Google review
I went on a Eid vacation, and the hotel was mediocre at best. Pros: Room size is good Location is perfect Cons: Awful food Terrible service NO cleanness Hotel has signs of age Shower takes time to be hot There was no cleanness in the hotel. There were no toothbrushes, tissues, or toothpaste and the towels were old and dirty. The "room cleaning" button on the hotel telephone does not work .The cleaner only came ONE time in my 4 day vacation, and if you try to get him to come clean your room he takes a long time to come. The food was awful for both breakfast and lunch. There was not a lot of food, and the food feels old and cold. In addition, the hotel is pretty greedy, so if you want to get a bottle of water or get a bottle of Pepsi, you'll need to pay up. The water is overpriced and small (costs 4 riyals!). The service is very bad. The hotel tries to minimize the amount of workers to reduce the prices of rooms, and that has diminishing returns. In the swimming pool area, there are no table cleaners and overall service is very bad. The hotel has signs of age, and that becomes evident when you go to the underground pool bathroom, as the roof is literally peeling off. These signs of age are all over the hotel, including in the bottom of doors, and in the rooms. Lastly, the shower takes a long time to get hot even if you set the water temperature at the highest. For the price, I expected more. The location is excellent, but the poor cleanliness, bad food, and lack of service make this hotel hard to recommend.
Wimp — Google review
It was a terrible experience. I have never stayed in a hotel as bad as this. I would highly recommend not to stay in this hotel. Here’s why : The rooms were small and dingy. They were not cleaned properly as we saw trash in the room. The toilet was disgusting and unclean. They did not clean the room properly. There was not much to do. Extremely Boring. Quite safe. There was not much you could walk around. It was plain and nothing to eat. Especially breakfast the food was dead and completely disgusting. The room service was really bad. We asked them for a mattress they couldn’t give, they only gave a blanket with bugs in it. Whenever we ask they always bring at least 2 hours after. For people who’ve statues and Enjoyed before, rethink. This resort used to be holiday inn. Holiday in was superb. That’s why we came. They’ve changed their ways as there is a new owner. Mena hotel was previously holiday inn. But their ways have changed badly. They also scammed, lied, and cheated us. They promised us 3 beds that we never got. They charged us for 3 bedrooms but only gave us 2 bedrooms. They promised us mattresses but we never got that as well. They got us 3 useless blankets that we could not use without mattresses. Even one of them had bugs. A little message to the manager of Mena Resort : I you are reading this, we had a horrible stay. You offered us 3 beds and charged us for 3 beds but you only gave us 2. You promised us 3 mattresses but you only gave us 3 blankets with one having bugs. I’m sorry to say but we have not enjoyed this and certainly won’t come back. We feel we did not have a stay up to our expectations and if you made a mistake it would be shameful not to make compensate. You guys made a mistake and instead of trying to compensate you guys made it worse. Overall, staying in this hotel is not a good idea.
Halima A — Google review
Very good place only down side is that the buffet is extra and you have to buy breakfast / lunch / dinner separately but the pool was ok it was not heated tho but it was medium sized and beach was ok the sand is not that good but you get a beutiful sunset
Yassin M — Google review
It is the worst resort ever - I don’t recommend anyone to stay here rooms are too old - not clean full of insects the moment you open the balcony door - villa beside are not renovated and full of damage furniture on in the front where it is supposed to sit and enjoy the sea view- they describe the unit as a villa of two bedrooms and in fact it is a studio type unit - too small and smelling bad

Big and nice store. They have a good collection and variety. I was looking to buy a small gift ladies hand bag. They had a decent collection but I didn't get what exactly I was looking for. So didn't buy anything as it was a quick visit. This store is within Marina mall and it was very very quite. I don't know why the malls in Dammam is not busy and happening. I feel malls in Khobar is more busy compare to Dammam. Good location for the people who wants to avoid rush and crowd and like peaceful shopping. Cheers..........

Marjan Island, also known as Coral Island, is the first artificial island in Saudi Arabia located off the Cornish road in Dammam. It's a popular tourist spot with beautiful scenery and a peaceful atmosphere. The island offers various attractions such as parks, picnic areas, children's playgrounds, restaurants, cafes, and entertainment centers. Visitors can access Marjan Island by driving across the bridge or taking a ferry ride from Dammam city.
We're going to this place for fishing and we spend long time here. This this a enjoyable island for spending your time with friends family and alone. Many peoples comes here to take some fresh air and gossip friends & family. This fishing area is cool and you can catch many fishes here. Personally i love this place.
SHARFin — Google review
I recently visited Marjan Island in Dammam during the evening, and unfortunately, the current condition of the spot is quite disappointing. The area seemed neglected, with a noticeable lack of cleanliness—trash was scattered around, and the usual vibrant atmosphere was missing. Unlike before, there wasn’t much foot traffic, giving the place a deserted feel. It seemed like the island might be partially closed or undergoing some sort of renovation, although no official signs confirmed this. Facilities that were once a highlight, like the monument tower and rest areas, appeared poorly maintained. If anyone is planning to visit Marjan Island soon, I’d suggest reconsidering or at least going during the day and being prepared for limited amenities. It’s best to bring your own food, water, and essentials, as the on-site options are minimal. While the location still offers a nice sea breeze and scenic views, the current state doesn’t reflect the vibrant destination it once was.
Dr. H — Google review
Marjan Island is a great spot if you're looking to chill out and relax. It's super peaceful, and some areas might seem a bit empty, but that actually makes it kind of special. The quietness and natural beauty make it perfect for just getting away from everything and enjoying some downtime. Whether you're taking a walk by the water or just soaking up the calm vibes, it's a cool place to escape the usual hustle.

“Marjan Island, Dammam – A Nostalgic Visit with Future Excitement” During our visit to Marjan Island, Dammam, after more than 28 years, we were delighted to relive the cherished memories we made here between 1990 and 2000. This island has always been a special place for us, where our kids enjoyed countless visits, and we once celebrated Pakistan Day with our close family, making it an unforgettable memory. While the island still holds its natural charm, we noticed that some planning and development work is underway, promising to bring more attractions for visitors in the future. As of now, the island remains a simple yet lively picnic spot, where most visitors were enjoying their time by the roadside, fishing, or relaxing with family. The main food options were from food stalls, which added to the casual, outdoor experience. One striking sight was the long stretch of cars parked beside the sea, showing how popular this place remains among locals and visitors alike. It was refreshing to see people gathering, enjoying the cool breeze, and making the most of the island’s peaceful atmosphere. We look forward to seeing how the planned developments will enhance the experience while keeping the island’s serene and nostalgic essence intact.

A non crowded peaceful place for tourists with 360View of sea, clean and green park with huts, and boating. No restaurants only juice, tea stalls. It is better to bring your own food and snacks. For boating 20 min ride is available. A floating cafeteria is available free of charge if you purchased boat ride. Otherwise you can go to cafeteria by paying minimal charges.

Inside the cave, visitors can enjoy the cool atmosphere while exploring its beauty. From the hilltop, one can admire stunning views of date farms and greenery. It's an ideal place for families as kids can have fun climbing rocks and exploring the caves.
Stunning natural landmark with unique caves and panoramic views of Al-Ahsa Oasis. The cool caves are perfect for escaping the heat. a must-visit for nature lovers and photographers.

Also called Judas Cave. It is worth a visit. There will be an offer for a tourguide-45minutes tour (need to pay a hundred tho), and they will let you borrow a flashlight each person. There will be fee for Entrance (fifty SAR)+ vat(7.5sar) per person (I wasn’t able to ask if there’s any difference of payment for kids). You are free to take photos.. there will be photographers around if you want better photos or printed copies. They also have Souvenir shops… If you are worried about food and drinks, there are cafes and restaurants you can go. Parking is not a problem, they got a big place for that. So far, it is far😂 but worth it.. a place away from work and worries.. a little break you deserve.. 🥰

Outside the caves it can get harsh (sun, heat) so visiting at cooler times of day is wise.Once inside, you’ll immediately notice the temperature drop — it can be 10–15 °C cooler than outside, making it a natural escape from the desert heat. The walk includes some open sections.Allow around 1–2 hours for the full visit.Entry fee: Around SAR 50–57 per adult. However, the light is ambient, not bright it’s designed to highlight the cave walls and atmosphere,

Al Qarah Mountain, also called Jabal Al Qarah, is a natural and cultural landmark in Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahsa area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We had little difficulty in locating the entrance of this heritage site after reaching Al Ahsa. Though only about 75 meters high, it is famous for its dramatic cliffs and cool caves formed by centuries of wind and water erosion. The mountain is composed primarily of sedimentary rocks such as limestone, sandstone, and clay, which over centuries have been shaped by wind and water erosion into dramatic cliffs, narrow passageways, and natural caves. They remain cool in the intense desert summer and relatively warm in winter, making them a natural air-conditioned shelter. Today, this place is a popular tourist attraction, with pathways and a cultural center that showcase its geology and history. Al Qarah remains a symbol of Al-Ahsa’s heritage, blending natural beauty with timeless traditions.

Qaisariya Al-Ahsa Souq

Market
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
This super typical and authentic suq is AMAZING and 100% worth it!! Clean and colourful. Near the beautiful door, you are likely to find more men's clothes and home items as well as spices. Women's clothes and jewelleries are located a bit further away: once you enter the door, walk towards the right along a main road. Behind the door you can find seats and tables. When I visited this suq, there were some cafes set up too. And as usual in Saudi, nice and friendly locals 😊

Historic souq with beautiful architecture and a wide variety of local goods spices, textiles, jewelry. Walking through its narrow corridors feels like stepping back in time. Highly recommended.
Huzaifa A — Google review
Visiting this souq was such a memorable experience! The place is full of life, colors, and beautiful scents coming from the endless stalls of spices, herbs, and traditional goods. I especially loved the wide variety of dates each type more delicious than the next. Walking through the souq felt like stepping back in time, surrounded by local culture and warm, welcoming vendors. It’s the perfect spot to experience authentic traditions and pick up unique gifts to take home. A must-visit for anyone who loves culture, food, and history!

An old bazaar in the centre of Hafouf. You can buy traditional clothes, shoes, spices, etc. There are traditional cafes that still serve traditional dishes. A nice walk through the narrow isles of the souq.

A real taste of Arabian culture. Beautiful place, fully renovated and well cared. It's a world heritage site, really worth seeing and walking, especially in the winter season.

Really neat place to visit. If the weather is right, this place is fun to walk around and shop for local spices and bakhur (a special fragrance like agar, you light up on a charcoal and the smoke comes with nice fragrance). We also bought a lot of different kinds of spices.

SAM B — Google review
It is a very expensive Market if you are planning to buy some gold then it is not a good place they charge you more than 360SAR for 1gm of gold of 21k but the price of the gold would be around 271 SAR for 21k gold. I would rather suggest going to gold outlets such as Malabar where you could get one price across the kingdom and they usually give discounts on making charges too, so if you are a first time gold buyer then buy from such outlets. The souq is most probably the place for chilling out rather than shopping. PRO TIP:- if you are looking to buy some abayas then buy from the shop on the side of the road rather than the backyard shops as the price they offer in the front row shops are usually fixed and are kept according to the quality of the material.

It had lost its shine and importance some time back because of some unknown reasons, but now you can feel the buzz. There are a few new shops and activities. It has all the basic facilities. The salient feature of this place is that it is not too crowded. Good shops for clothes.

Al Nakheel Beach was an incredible experience. I spent nearly 3hours here and found it to be superior to any other beach in Dammam. The beach was immaculate and well-maintained, providing a pleasant and clean environment. Additionally, there is a spacious garden area that offers ample space for leisure activities❤️ I observed many families enjoying their time here, indulging in tea, coffee, and snacks. The weather was perfect - not too cold nor too hot, creating an ideal atmosphere. I highly recommend choosing this beach over any other, as it provides clean water for swimming🏊 .

had such a wonderful time at this park and beach! The area is very well maintained, clean, and welcoming. The park has plenty of space to relax, walk around, or enjoy a picnic with family and friends. I especially loved how peaceful it felt, with lots of greenery and shaded spots to sit and unwind. The beach is beautiful, with soft sand and clear water that makes it perfect for swimming or just strolling along the shore. It’s a great spot to catch the sunset, and the atmosphere is very family-friendly. Everything feels safe and organized, making it an ideal place for both relaxation and fun. Overall, it’s a perfect combination of nature and relaxation—I would definitely recommend visiting if you’re looking for a calm and refreshing escape.

One of the amazing places I visited in Saudi Arabia reminded me of the Nile corniche or a beach, especially with its magnificent sunset views. However, despite its resemblance to the Nile, its salty taste brought me back to reality, reminding me that this was not the Nile. We still had a wonderful time doing a barbecue (اقاشي) with friends and family.

Fanateer Mall

Shopping
I recently visited Fanateer Mall in Jubail and had an amazing time! The mall offers a great shopping experience with a variety of stores to choose from. The atmosphere is lively and fun, making it a perfect spot to hang out with friends and family. I loved the food options too - plenty of delicious choices to satisfy any craving. Overall, I'd highly recommend Fanateer Mall to anyone looking for a great day out in Jubail!
MohSin J — Google review
The mall was big, but it was a little disappointing because there were many closed places. However, if you have children, there are many things to enjoy, so I think it's a good place.
양성철 — Google review
The mall is new and massive. The downside of the mall is that it is virtually empty with some shops, eateries and kids amusement park dotted across different level. Toilet facilities are new and clean. There is a good vibe outside the mall. It would be good to have benches in the mall. Hope we can return when the mall is filled. Then I will adjust my review rating for the mall.
Noelle N — Google review
Fantastic, renovated completely, excellent services. Few shops are open currently but many more are preparing to open soon. A coffee shop on ground floor is operational. Kid's play area is also operational and was crowded possibly due to weekend.
Muhammad M — Google review
Newly opened after renovation, but very less crowded and many shops are still not opened. One best thing is jumpoline for kids and food stoll like Karak. Specially in day, You will see the best view of fanateer beach ⛱from food court seating area glass window.
Imtiyaz K — Google review
The mall is clean, well-maintained, and easy to navigate. It may not be the biggest mall in the region, but its peaceful atmosphere, variety of stores, and nearby beach make it truly unique. The food court offers a nice mix of international and local options, and the outdoor seating area is a great place to unwind. Perfect for families, friends, or even a solo visit — Fanateer Mall combines comfort and charm in a way that makes you want to come back again. Highly recommended if you're in Jubail! 🛍️🌊☕
Qasim J — Google review
Fanateer Mall after renovation became modern place to visit. Kids playing place is one of the best places. Various coffee shops were opened outside of the mall. However, not too much places were set yet for shopping apart from gold shops. All over it is a place where families can gather in weekends.
Nargiza M — Google review
The opening of this shopping center, and all these different coffee shops in the area around it and a really good variety of restaurants with different cuisines has really added to Jubail city a lot.the play area at Jumpoline, The different jewelry and accessory shops, Abaya shops and the cafés inside the mall and in the outside area are really making this shopping center a favorite destination for many.

Embark on an unforgettable cave exploration adventure at Heet Cave in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This natural wonder offers a serene escape from the city, making it a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike. What sets Heet Cave apart is its underground lake, adding to the allure of this unique destination. Located near Mount Al Jubayl in Wadi As Sulay village, it's easily accessible from Riyadh and offers a steep trek with stunning views.
If you are in to desert landscapes and beautiful starlit skies, this is the place for you. We happened to visit Heet caves during sunset and camped nearby overnight. The descend down to the tiny cave underneath is a bit challenging as it gets steeper towards the end. It is a good hike back up as well. A beautiful spot to spend some time with friends and family. Note: please take your trash with you as there is no space to get rid of it here.
Fahim O — Google review
Not as beautiful or attractive as I expected, but the waters are so clear, it feels very exciting. But for those who are not used to mountain trekking, it will be very difficult to go here, a lot of good time was spent with dear people.

What a show of Culture, love and compassion. Very well organised event hats off to the people involved in organising such large scale event with so very well done homework. All the reagional stalls were superb and rich and were true depiction of their regional crafts, workers, living style, culture etc etc. It was my first experience to attend the mega event, i thoroughly enjoyed and loved every bit of it

You have to walk a lot here. And there are many shops here for bracelets, watches, jewellery, trolley bags (not for travelling), and there are many eatery shops also. You get to explore new things here. I went in the morning and many shops were closed and there were no shows going on! Maybe in the evening it would be more fun!

Must see if you're in Saudi. We went in the morning, which was a mistake since most stores open around 4pm. But it wasn't too crowded and we got to see a lot of old crafts and buy some local food. Take a look at the map in the pics. We parked near gate 5, which was far from the action. Try going for gates 1,2 or 3.

Great place to learn about culture, food, and traditio of the different regions in Saudi. It's a huge area which requires at least 10 hours of non stop walking to see everything. It's best to do them in 2 or 3 days.

Wow....Saudi Arabia in a nutshell. Every town/city/region is represented here with each their own traditional dance, food and architectural structures. All that identifies that tribe or society. Their main activities and cultural inheritance. Such interesting scenes and activities and the Saudi's are all so welcoming and friendly. Proud of their cultural inheritance and patiently explained every bit to all the guests that walk in there. Amazing dances and their food so tasty and delicious. A must see to everyone!!! What a rich and fantastic Cultural festival free of charge! The development of Saudi is clearly visible and drastically fast during the past few years! I enjoyed it so much that I went back to see more as one trip was not enough. What an experience!!

An amazing festival to explore the heritage and cultural aspect of Saudi Arabia, as well as countries of the gulf region. The Emirates section was really great, well organized and maintained. My favourite wing was the hijazi section, very beautiful, friendly ambiance, delicious food too. Maintenance efforts and organization is improving but not perfect yet, especially the parking but definitely worth the visit !
AbdulAziz H — Google review
A really enjoyable experience and great opportunity to experience the rich heritage of each of the provinces of Saudi Arabia. The parking was well organised and the main grounds were clean and easy to walk around. For anyone with strollers or wheelchairs they’d have no problem getting around. There’s so much to see and so many vendors from each region selling their traditional, local goods. For food, check out the Madinah and Qassim pavilions for good choices but you’ll also find many fast food stalls around the grounds including Kudu, Shawarma, Taj, Burgerizzr, bagels and more. You’ll also find the other Gulf countries represented here as well as a “guest country” (Indonesia this year.) Go early in the day (we arrived at 12noon) to beat the crowds and have the opportunity to take great photos while it’s still light. It’s starts getting very busy after asr prayer and then progressively busier.
Nicola C — Google review

Al Masmak Palace is one of Riyadh’s most fascinating historical sites — a well-preserved mud-brick fortress that tells the story of how modern Saudi Arabia began. Visiting the palace feels like stepping back in time, with detailed exhibits, old photographs, and artifacts that bring the 1902 recapture of Riyadh by King Abdulaziz to life. The site is compact and easy to explore in under an hour. The museum staff are welcoming, and the information displays (in Arabic and English) make the experience accessible even without a guide. The surrounding area, including Souq Al Zal, adds to the atmosphere and makes it worth a longer cultural stop.

This is the museum to come to if you want to find out how the third and current Saudi State was founded. While I already read a bit on the history of the Kingdom before flying here, I must say, it is something else to see the actual place where the state was founded well over a century ago. The video inside details the night raid of Ibn Saud as well, which was an excellent addition to the exhibition. Certainly a must visit in Riyadh, a free one no less!

The National Museum Riyadh is a true cultural treasure and one of the best places to learn about Saudi Arabia’s rich history and heritage. From pre-Islamic times through the rise of Islam and into the modern era, the museum presents its story beautifully through well-organized and detailed exhibits. The architecture is stunning, with spacious galleries that allow you to take your time and absorb the displays without feeling rushed or crowded. The experience is greatly enhanced by the presence of friendly and knowledgeable staff stationed at various points throughout the museum, ready to assist and answer questions. The environment is clean, well-maintained, and inviting for both tourists and locals. It’s a perfect destination for families, history enthusiasts, and anyone seeking to understand the depth of Saudi culture. A visit here is not just informative, but truly inspiring.

I got the chance to visit The National Museum of Saudi Arabia, and I have to say, it surprised me. It’s a great place to visit with your family or as a tourist destination. The museum goes through an insightful and in-depth coverage of The Kingdom’s history, Islamic history, and geographical history. There are lots of artifacts and fossils, accompanied by their respective descriptions. There is an outdoor garden which is a beautiful place to have a walk or take in the scenery. I do recommend taking the green line metro to the museum to add to the experience, as the station itself is quite beautiful, as is the walk to the museum. However take care to go during pleasant weather, as the summer heat can be quite unbearable. My only issue with the place was the lack of places to buy water, although, it can be understandable as food and drink are not allowed past the lobby and into the museum. Overall, I recommend visiting the national museum!

A huge museum complex in the middle of a small pleasant garden. The personal is very friendly and helpful. Main entrance is free, but temporary exhibitions might need a prepaid ticket. The permanent collection is very interesting to visit. Very few exceptional pieces but they are worth the visit alone. Explanations are good, focused on a younger or not so experienced audience. The freshly brewed coffee in the main entrance hall is well worth trying.

One of the best National Museums I visited. The narrative you find here is not one full of pride, but humility. It is a well written history of the region and its people in a very candid manner. There is also a short but sweet part on natural history, though I was here for the Saudi history first and foremost. The exhibition does end more or less when the third and current Saudi state is founded as far as I could understand. There seems to be some free offerings in the atrium and the entry is free for all. Better yet, the museum’s backyard is a gorgeous park that you should spend some time in to relax and ponder about what you learnt in the museum. This park hides an entrance to another exhibition, this time focusing on the founder of the Kingdom, Ibn Saud, which is a must visit in my humble opinion as well. This whole are is just an excellent experience overall really.

Very worthwhile to visit. Learned a bunch about the culture and history. Entrance was free and self guided. Just follow the yellow line through the various rooms. It’s much larger than it looks. Lots of rooms and exhibits. After we finished at the museum we strolled through the park and outside areas. Lots of fun and educational too!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently visited the National Museum of Saudi Arabia, and it was a wonderful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how beautiful and well-designed the place is. The exhibitions are organized in a way that takes you through Saudi Arabia’s history step by step — from ancient times to the modern era. I really enjoyed the interactive displays and videos that helped bring the stories to life. Everything was clearly explained in both Arabic and English, which made it easy to follow and understand. The staff were polite and helpful, and the whole environment felt calm and welcoming. What I liked most was how the museum connects history with culture — it made me appreciate how much the Kingdom has developed while still preserving its traditions. Overall, my visit was educational and inspiring. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Riyadh.

Visiting the National Museum of Saudi Arabia was honestly one of the best cultural experiences I’ve had in the city. The museum is beautifully designed, both inside and out. The architecture alone is worth seeing, it’s modern but still reflects traditional Saudi elements, and the atmosphere feels calm and welcoming from the moment you step in. What I loved most was how well the exhibits are organized. Each hall takes you on a journey through different eras of Saudi history, from prehistoric times to the modern Kingdom. The displays are detailed and interactive, which really helps you understand the country’s story, culture, and growth over time. The section about Islam’s beginnings and the Prophet’s era was especially powerful and moving. The museum also does a great job blending technology with history. There are screens, videos, and even sound effects that make everything feel alive. I also appreciated how everything is labeled in both Arabic and English, so even international visitors can fully enjoy the experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the ticket prices were very reasonable. The museum is located in King Abdulaziz Historical Center, so it’s surrounded by gardens and other landmarks worth exploring after your visit. Overall, I would highly recommend the National Museum to anyone visiting Riyadh, locals or tourists. It’s not just educational, but also inspiring, and it really makes you appreciate Saudi Arabia’s deep and rich heritage.

Wow, honestly wow. Saudi arabia is really opening my eyes towards another dimension, I never thought in my life I would see this much history in the national museum of Saudi Arabia. The museum is super clean, well equipped, signs everywhere, employees willing to help you with anything and super respectful and responsive. Each section of the museum takes you to another dimension, plus I had the chance to visit the exhibition of the coins that was in the museum, the guide during the exposition was amazing, he knows his stuff, and really friendly. Saudi Ministry of Culture thank you for this wonderful experience and I honored and happy to be one of the visitors of this great museum. God bless Saudi Arabia and the Saudi people 🇸🇦🇸🇦🇸🇦💚💚🙏🏻🙏🏻

Visit the oldest village only two-hours away from Riyadh by car! You can enjoy walking within the walla of the beautiful vernacular architecture of the area. The place is easily accessible and user-friendly for both adults and children. Make sure you don't miss the museum, which preserves old products that remind you of your childhood!

Great experience visiting Ushaiqir Heritage Village with my family! It’s a real heritage site with traditional buildings and a glimpse into Saudi history and culture. The place is well maintained and very interesting to explore. It’s located near Shaqra, so I recommend setting your GPS location to “Shaqra” instead of directly searching for Ushaiqir – that makes the route easier, especially if you’re coming from far. It was a long drive, but totally worth it! While you’re in the area, also take time to visit Shaqra – it has some beautiful spots too.

Wonderful historical site. Showcasing najdi architecture. Some of the buildings are very well preserved.. and converted in to restaurants, shops and museums. There are still a lot of conservation works going on, which after completion will make the place even more worthy for visit. Specially with younger generation.

Beautiful historic old village under renovation. Mix of ruins and some renovated old houses and small museums. Interesting lanes reminiscent of the lifestyle and Najdi architecture of the region. Kudos for the sensitivity of the renovation and the dedication of the people of Saudi to capture the soul.

Ushaiqer Heritage Village, located in the heart of Saudi Arabia, is a breathtaking and historically rich treasure that dates back over 1,500 years. Its beautifully preserved mud-brick architecture and intricate wooden carvings capture the magnificent traditional Najdi design. As one of the kingdom's most significant heritage sites, Ushaiqer offers a captivating glimpse into Saudi Arabia's cultural and historical roots. The village's well-maintained houses, venerable mosques, and winding alleys not only highlight its ancient grandeur but also underscore its vital role in preserving the nation's heritage.

Had a wonderful time visiting this place. We see a lot of foreign tourist coming in and explore the area. Some of the featured dwellings were closed though and are under repair. The museum curators were helpful in giving us information about the old village and its people. This spot is good for educational visit.

Super “cool” experience.. when we reached there it was 2:30 and temperature was 30 degree.. we thought of canceling the visit because of the hot climate, but by luck we decided to check inside just for curiosity.. surprisingly the temps inside the village was around 24-26… literally it was cold.. we spent 1.5 hours in that village to enjoy the marvelous construction to prevent outside heat and very comfortable stay.. the construction was done with mud, tree trunks, stones and dates tree leaves.. The village roads were well connected and walked through each and every path..

Shuhada Uhud Cemetery

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Shuhada Uhud Cemetery, situated at the base of Uhud Mountain in Medina, is a renowned Islamic shrine. It contains the remains of 70 martyrs who lost their lives during the Battle of Uhud. One notable individual among them is Hamza ibn Abdul Muttalib, the uncle of Prophet Muhammad. This cemetery serves as a final resting place for those who sacrificed their lives during this historic battle between early Muslims and their Meccan foes in 624 CE.
This cemetery of Shuhada Uhud very near to haram must be visited while in Madina to pray for Duaa& salam for the martyrs of Uhud battle. It is a well maintained place with an amazing mosque nearby. Visitors even go up the hill of Ramah in front of the cemetery. I have visited this place many times even when there was no modern majid on the campus.
Dr G — Google review
Ohod Cemetery, located in Medina, Saudi Arabia, is indeed a place of significant historical and spiritual importance. It is the resting place of many companions of the Prophet Muhammad and holds a deep reverence among Muslims. The serene environment and historical significance can make it a peaceful and reflective place for visitors. If you have any specific experiences or aspects of the cemetery you'd like to share or discuss, feel free!
DA S — Google review
You would have more appreciation if you read the detailed seerah on accounts of the Uhud battle beforehand. I read ar-Raheeq al-Makhtum and I wept, and I smiled then I'm shattered (especially how the Meccan Polytheists treat the martyrs was beyond savage) and my admiration towards the companions be it Muhajireen or Ansar radiallahu 'anhum grew more and more. Common misconceptions Muslims have is that we loss the Uhud battle, but it's not entirely true, because the Musyrikeen didn't succeed in their ultimate goal either which is mrdring Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. There are layers and layers in Allah 'Azza Wajalla's decree and wisdom for us to seek knowledge, lessons and humbled ourselves before Him. "Peace be upon you, O inhabitants of these dwellings among the believers and Muslims. Indeed, we are, insha'Allah, soon to join you. We ask Allah for well-being for us and for you."
Hasanah A — Google review
This is the cemetery housing the graves of the martyrs of Uhud, foremost amongst them Sayyid ush Shuhada Hamza (as). It is right opposite Jabal up Rumah, the hill on which the Prophet (PBUH) commanded archers to hold position under the command of Abdullah ibn Jubair. The cemetery is enclosed by a barrier but the graves can be seen through it with the grave of Hamza (as) being the most prominent. The site is a fitting reminder that those who are blinded by the allure of the riches of the world harm not only themselves but others through their choices.
Taha Z — Google review
The cemetery is adjacent to a mosque. During hot day you can take shelter in the mosque before or after you pray a visit to the graveyard.
Galih P — Google review
The Martyrs of Uhud Cemetery is a destination for the visitors of Madinah, as it includes 70 tombs of top Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him), who fought and were killed in the battle of Uhud in 3 Hijri/625 AD. The cemetery is located in "Sayyid al-Shuhada Square" where a memorable battle of early Islamic history took place. On the site, there is also Sayyid al-Shuhada Mosque, the second largest mosque in Madinah, after the Prophet's Mosque. It accommodates 15000 people at times of prayer, and the cemetery is 3 km to the north of the Prophet's Mosque, near the base of Mount Uhud, after which the battle was named. You can visit the Martyrs of Uhud Cemetery 24/7. It is surrounded by a wall with metal bars, through which visitors may look. Some visitors start with performing prayer in Sayyid al-Shuhada Mosque and then climb Archers' Hill, from which they can have a better view of the square and the cemetery.

Wadi E Jin, also known as Wadi e Jinn Al Baida, is a mysterious and enchanting mountainous area located about 30 kilometers north of Medina. It is famous for its rocky roads where cars seem to move without any driver input or acceleration. Local legends attribute this phenomenon to the power of jinns, with some claiming to have heard eerie voices urging them to leave the area. Geologists, however, explain it as a result of reverse gravity.
Just experienced the mind-blowing Anti-Gravity Flow & Drive in Madina with my brothers! Watching a car zoom in neutral gear without engine power was unreal! Allah's creation is truly amazing. And what a surprise! Compared to my last visit a few years ago, the roads have been upgraded to one-way streets with a speed limit of 110 km/h (from 80-90 km/h earlier)! The new infrastructure makes the experience even more thrilling! Highly recommend a visit to entertain you and your loved ones! 😍
Chaudhary I — Google review
My visit to Wadi-e-Jinn left me stunned and amazed. It is a place where nature shows a phenomenon beyond normal explanation. I witnessed the strong winds of the valley, and when I placed a bottle on the road, instead of rolling in the direction of the wind, it moved in the opposite way. It was both shocking and fascinating — an experience that made me pause in awe. What makes Wadi-e-Jinn even more special is the deep tranquility it holds. Despite the unusual occurrence, the valley is peaceful and calm. The silence of the desert, the rush of the mysterious winds, and the serenity of the surroundings create an atmosphere that touches the heart. This place reminds you of the greatness of Allah ﷻ and the unseen realities of this world. It makes you reflect on how vast creation is and how limited human understanding can be. Truly, Wadi-e-Jinn is a place where one feels humbled, reminded of the unseen (ghayb), and connected to the power of the Creator. Every moment spent there was not just a sight of nature’s wonder, but also a reminder that the universe is filled with signs (ayat) that point towards Allah’s majesty and wisdom.

My visit to Wadi-e-Jinn was an incredible and magical experience. Watching our car defy gravity and roll uphill on its own was something I'll never forget. It was a truly happy and unforgettable part of our trip to Madina.
Najam H — Google review
Nice place to visit. It has very basic facilities. It seems cheerful for kids too.
Imran J — Google review
Wadi e Jinn has gained a reputation for being a place where strange things happen. One of the most talked-about phenomena is the "apparent gravity anomaly". Vehicles traveling in the valley often appear to move uphill by themselves, even when the road is supposed to have a downward slope. This optical illusion or magnetic anomaly has fascinated people for years, leading to various theories about the location. Some attribute it to the presence of Jinn, as per traditional beliefs, while others point to natural explanations like magnetic fields or geological oddities.
Ali B — Google review
Wadi e Jin is unlike anywhere else I’ve visited. The valley is surrounded by beautiful rocky mountains, and the atmosphere feels both calm and surreal. The most famous thing here is the natural phenomenon where vehicles seem to move on their own, even uphill, without pressing the accelerator. It’s an experience you really have to see in person to believe! The road is well-maintained, and the drive itself is very scenic. Many people stop to test the “gravity hill” effect, and it’s always fun to watch. The place has a unique charm because of the mix of natural beauty and the mystery behind it. If you’re in Madinah, I definitely recommend a short trip here—it’s only about 30 minutes away from the city. Best to visit in the morning or evening when it’s not too hot.
Sufyan M — Google review
Anti gravity flow and drive was a unique experience. My Kids enjoyed it a lot, an exciting place with a very high gravity force. Hence, the car is traveling at high speed in neutral without starting the engine. Masha Allah, we are amazed during this trip

Wadi Rum Safari Camp offers a unique experience in the heart of the desert. Visitors can explore the narrow red-rock fissures with ancient inscriptions and petroglyphs, including drawings of ostriches and other symbols. The camp provides comfortable cabins nestled under a cliff face for an authentic overnight stay. With friendly and helpful hosts, such as Salem and his family, guests can enjoy peaceful evenings by the fire with delicious sage tea.
Amazing experience, nice hospitality, and very helpful staff. Food was gorgeous.

Unfortunately I must rate it for 1*. I came back from the desert and wanted to stay in the village so I booked this camp. Can you imagine how surprised I was when they tried to bring me back to the desert? The location is wrong, that is just a meeting point for an expensive jeep ride to the desert. I lost too much time finding a place to sleep in the village, because all of the camps are located in the desert, not in the village. If you have the correct location I wouldn't lose my time for booking you.

If you are planning to go to Wadi Rum, please don’t choose the Wadi Rum Safari Camp Rooms are not clean, plenty of dust and very tired A/C does not work until 8pm when you really don’t need because they want to save energy When you book they did not alert that you should pay 30JOD (around 39 euros) for the transfer from the official entrance of the desert to the camp. No one help us with the luggage from and to the room I can’t give any good word except for the location, indeed in the desert that is beautiful

Lawrence’s Spring granite-sandstone contact

Mentioned on

Lawrence’s Spring is a natural spring located in a red rocky desert, famously mentioned in T.E. Lawrence's 'Seven Pillars of Wisdom.' The climb to the spring is not through a single path, allowing visitors to choose their own route. It takes about 15 minutes to reach the top, and the steep climb can be managed by individuals of varying ages.
Phenomenal views after a short climb (however sturdy closed-toe footwear recommended as I cut my feet up on some of the sharp granite rocks). Friendly Bedouins at the base who serve tea and coffee. 😊
Sam H — Google review
Beautiful view of the desert after you scrambled up the mountain! Wear good grip shoes/sandals, take water with you. First stop of the jeep tour from the village so pretty crowded at the base. On the way back to the village, we stopped here again to take a 1/2h camel ride (5jd/per) back to the village. Highly recommend the camel ride, super fun experience and just a right amount of time. The camels are cute and seem to be well-looked after!
Mai N — Google review
Nice views from the spring which itself is just unattractive small water hole. The climb is not easy and descent even more difficult due to big rocks. Take it easy and slow!
Igor F — Google review
The way up and down to the spring is not done trough a single path. You can start from any point and make your way up to the top as you see fit. It is under the sun at all time so plan to take water. It is a rather short climb though steep of about 15 mins. We could easily manage the climb with an 11, 13 and 15 years old. On the top you’ll find a very small spring that resembles a pond and that the Bedouin have tap into to bring water down the valley for the animals.
Malik B — Google review
Make sure you do a multi day visit to wadi rum because this site and the other ocuple ones close to the village are innundated with tourists and not all that much fun. If you can get to the back of the desert you can have similar places all to yourself.
Kevin W — Google review
Check the rock with the ancient writings, climb up the mountain (take water). The view is insanely beautiful! Then enjoy Bedouin tea when you get down. This is a regular stop for all tours - Jeep or camel, so later in the morning can become pretty crowded. Highly recommend doing it though! One of the highlights of our tour!
