3 OMR is perhaps a bit too much for an entrance fee as the museum is quite small. Nevertheless the museum is at least well kept and clean. Nice model boats with clear explanations.
Olivier V — Google review
Very nice little Museum with lots of history of Sur and its sailors

Disha P — Google review
Well maintained and small museum dedicated to the Omani tradition of seaworthy boat craft. Residents pay 2 omr, others 3 omr.

DHOW -- swahili word DOW The dhow is known for two distinctive features. First of all, it's triangular or lateen sail, and secondly, for its stitched construction. Stitched boats were made by sewing the hull boards together with fibres, cords, or thongs. The Baghalla, sambuk, Kotia , URU [ large dhow of malabar], and ghanja are types of DHOWS. The sagwan wood used to build A dhow is imported from India. Indians used to trade wood , cloth, and goods for Omani pearls , dates, and copper. Marco Polo saw sewn boats at Hormuz at the entrance to the Arabian Gulf. He took a dim view of them: 'they were twine and with it stitch the planks of the ship together. It keeps well and is not corroded by seawater, but it will not stand well in a storm.' Original Fatah al khair dhow .

Learn about the rich history of Oman's maritime heritage, join in the songs with the museum guide, there is a kid's corner where they can colour in pictures for fun. The museum is small but we spent a long time looking at the exhibits and watching the video reel featuring interviews with sailors.

Bibi Maryam Mausoleum Qalhat

Ancient Ruins
The Bibi Maryam Mausoleum, located in Qalhat, Oman, is a significant archaeological site with a rich history dating back to the 11th to 16th century CE. It is believed to be one of the oldest civilizations in Oman and was once visited by Italian explorer Marco Polo. The mausoleum is said to have been built by either Baha al-Din Ayaz for his wife Bibi Maryam or vice versa.
A little bit hard to find direct road and at the end road was closed you must to have short hiking
Samira A — Google review
The site is pretty small. More than the tomb and cistern, they are working on what maybe is a temple (I think that is a pretty new excavation). Considering that there was a city, I presume that a lot needs to be dig.
Marco G — Google review
Already something like 15 years closed for visitors. Ask the guard nicely and you can have a look.
HRV — Google review
It is close but you can walk up to the entrance and have a look from there. There was a car with the engine running but no one inside.
Daniel L — Google review
Walk by a beautiful backdrop. Qalhat has a beautiful view along with rich history of Portuguese invasion, Iranian architecture. This place is under renovation however the guard will allow photographs from the outside.
Birjesh S — Google review
Bibi Maryam Mausoleum is an important archeological site. It was visited by both Ibn Battuta and Marco Polo. The only access is from Qalhat village, where you must cross the wadi and walk up the hill on the other side.

Qalhat City is one of oldest cities in Oman. City called 2nd capital for the Kingdom of Hormuz in the 11th to 16th century CE. Place is registered in UNESCO as a Ancient City of Qalhat (Oman) in 2018. Place is closed for Re-building, however, it is possible to visit and see.

Wadi Ash Shab

Wadi Ash Shab is a must-visit attraction in Oman, offering a stunning canyon hike that leads to breathtaking pools and waterfalls for swimming. For those who prefer a more leisurely approach, boat rides are available to reach the pools. While some of the lower pools are off-limits for drinking water, the rest are open for exploration. The wadi features an impressive gorge adorned with palm trees, showcasing nature's power through its rock formations shaped by mountain water.
Beautifull valley, a must visit place in Oman. It takes about 3 hours to walk up, to take the swim and to walk down. Beware of slippery stones in the water and when walking. With clear skies it is very hot! A bussy track with many tourists.
Jiri K — Google review
One of the best thing I did in Oman. The place is reachable by car. I came with a tour but it's easily doable independently. You can rent/buy lifejacket, phone case, googles, coral shoes and so on at the entry. There is an entrance fee, then a one minute boat trip will start your journey through the canyon. Before reach the actual river there is a 45 minute hike, easy though. After that there are various pools with beautiful water. Is recommended to came here early, is a 90 min drive from Muscat.
Jomin N — Google review
Amazing walking track with a swimming excursion. Would come by again. Prepare with sun screen and good walking gear. Worth the excursion if you like an adventure.
A T — Google review
The first wadi is reached fairly close by the canoe walk, a 10-15 minute walk. Then it’s a gruelling 45-minute or so hike including rock scrambles to reach the next wadi in a canyon. SO worth it despite the excruciating heat midday and lack of shade. The water is clear, warm and clean. I’m only dinking a star bc there is rubbish by the site (but not in the water) and overflowing rubbish bin en route. Really shameful of the government or whoever runs the site to not clean this up!
Jennifer S — Google review
Must visit place in oman, Had to take a 1 OMR ferry and then will reach a place from which we need to walk like 30 mins through the valley, and will reach a dreamy place . You walk walk andnwalk and you will see the beauty is getting more and more. Carry a life jacket if you dont know swimming (can be rented feom near the ferry). Some areas of the lake is extremely deep so please be aware. The water is so good looking but believe my i got an eye infection after that. So people will allergies please be aware to not go underwater or let water to your eyes.
Abhijith S — Google review
Reaching the spot requires 1-1.5 hours of hiking at your own pace. Once there, you'll need to swim to the endpoint—a cave where the waterfall originates—and can enjoy cliff jumping. Life jackets are available for rent at the starting point. Bring cash for the boat ride across to the other side. We didn't hire a guide as the trail was clearly marked. Visited in the September 4th week, 2025
Vidhey P — Google review
It’s true, this place is beautiful. I’m overweight and it truly is a moderate hike. It’s okay to pace yourself, there’s benches and rocks along the way, stop if you need to. It took us just over an hour to the bit you need to start swimming for. Rocks in the water are slippery and you’re in and out of the water until the cave. On the way back you’re cooler from the water so we did it just under an hour. Here are good tips that worked for me that I saw online. - Travel light as possible - wear your swim suit underneath, and it usually dries by the time you finish your hike - toilets are paid, but there’s a service station 5-10 mins away on the way back to Muscat. - Have water on you - Definitely a swap for closed water shoes and then trainers - my husband had sliders and they just kept coming off - A hat / SPF will help, the sun can be gruelling, it makes a pleasant ish hike more difficult - Have something waterproof for your phone / camera or you’ll have to leave it behind - We left our stuff on the side and it was fine - Someone advised to get there as early as possible and it was the best thing for the hike. All in all took us 4 and a bit hours and if you’re reasonably fit you’ll be even quicker. If you’re anxious about doing it as I was, I’d recommend you do it! You can always stop at the earlier wadis and not go all the way to the end! But it is a majestic, surreal looking place! Definitely add to your list!

Wadi Tiwi

Wadi Tiwi is a nearby attraction that can be visited if time permits. It is situated in the picturesque Mibam Village and offers stunning views of cascading waterfalls and surrounding plantations. The hike to the viewpoint takes around 45 minutes, but it is not too difficult, making it accessible to most visitors. Apart from the beautiful landscapes, one can also appreciate the abundance of vegetation growing in Oman's climate.
Amazing Wadi. You do not need to pay for a guide it is so easy to do on your own. The locals will pester for you for a bit saying that you will get lost but you won't. Park at the wadi tiwi parking place on Google maps (ignore the men on the Ute shouting at you to go right before you reach the destination on Google maps). After you park, keep walking further down the road till you get to the end. There is a blue gate and a brown tourist sign. On the left is a set of stairs that take you straight down to the wadi. To swim all along you do need to climb up and down rocks, beware it can get very slippery but take your time. It is amazing and definitely not worth missing. Photos below are guides to the top of the stairs.
Candace T — Google review
Beautiful landscape. Stunning waterfall and natural pools. The road is difficult to drive with steep and narrow streets. For the walk to the waterfall and pools a guide is recommended. Guides are waiting at the starting point.
Niklas H — Google review
Access is really hard, even with a 4x4. Local villagers don’t seem to like the attention. I’d rather visit other Wadis in the area.
John B — Google review
Have you ever felt the wildness of nature. Head to this place. For a minute, you will hold the breath and look around amusingly. This place is on the way to Sur, city 250kms away from Muscat. Just after taking the deviation from the main road, you will find rest rooms. Make use of it bcs for another 3 hrs you would miss this facility. Then adventurous journey starts. I would suggest you have a good condition car since you are driving towards the top of the mountain. Roads are narrow to accommodate a single car and be cautious while driving. There are locals to guide you with some nominal charges. It's not mandatory to have one of them. Take a walk for 200 to 300mts. Get down using the step, and you will be amazed by nature. You will find a small waterfall with shallow waters around to swim. Crystal clear water with a little bit of cold. Rocks are slippery in some areas. Be careful while taking each step and avoid nonsense. Enjoy responsibly.
Muhamed A — Google review
We chose this one because we were with our two children—4 and 6–and couldn’t do something more strenuous like Wadi Shab. We drove all the way in to Tiwi Up, through an incredible canyon oasis (4-wheel drive is essential!), until the stairs down to the pools and waterfall. It was just the right amount of adventure for the kids, and the perfect way to cool off in the scorching heat. I’d recommend Mubarak Juma Mubarak Al Araimi for lunch before or after—quick and good.
Charlie M — Google review
The wadi is a beautiful place. Scenery is amazing Acces easy but 4WD mandatory Only 1 star, here explains why: Once arrived on the first parking (wich futur visitors should avoid and continue to the end of the village parking where the concrete stairs start) we trusted one of these local "guide" as we only had good experience previously in Oman. We wanted to help the community taking one of this guide. He took us to the wadi with my familly of 3 kids. As down the guide didn't want us to pay but insisted to stay with us the afternoon. After the day went. Going back on the parking, the local "guides" insisted to us to pay a huge amount of money and started to be very insistante. The price was HUGE for the service. We didn't feel comfortable at all as we were with our 3 kids and the vibe wasn't nice anymore as we came back up on the parking... One of the guide was almost threatening so we had to pay the very overpriced afternoon as we felt blocked here with ou 3 young kids as well... The experience at this end of the day was the worst we had in all our trip in Oman. So it isn't the norm normally here in Oman but It really wasn't nice and this post is to warn futur traveller. Don't park at the first parking and don't go with these local guides unless you negotiate the price before going as you always have to do! I guess after all the good experiences we had in Oman we left our guards down and trusted humanity and we shouldn't have very sadly..
Timothé A — Google review
Do not trust the location of google maps for this point (wadi tiwi). The way is so hard and only good 4x4 vehicle can handle this google point. This is an alert for every single traveler.

Majlis al Jinn

Nature & Parks
Caverns & Caves
Majlis al Jinn, also known as the "Chamber of the Genies," is an impressive natural wonder. This cave chamber is one of the largest in the world, measuring about 310m by 225m with a soaring domed ceiling reaching 120m high. Situated at an elevation of approximately 1,380m above sea level, accessing this remarkable site requires navigating through a few openings at its peak.
Descending into the cave is an adventure experience of a lifetime. NOTE: In order to enter, you will need to obtain written permits from the Ministry of Tourism, and hire a team of professional accredited caving experts and specialist equipment. As keen off-roaders, we happily drove our 4x4 up onto the plateau (this is my favourite off-road drive in the world, but not for the faint of heart!) and camped for the night near the cave entrance. In the morning, our support team attached the lines to pegs and a pickup, and we dropped into the inky blackness. As the cave is a single giant domed chamber, the only way in is to abseil vertically down while dangling in mid-air: a process that takes 10-odd minutes. The interior of the cave is an alien and magical landscape of stalagmites and shafts of light (though there are plenty of carcasses of unlucky goats who have fallen in). Visiting takes plenty of patience and planning, but absolutely one for the bucket list.

Road: I was a bit panicked seeing some of the reviews here. Okay maybe some folks compare it to Frankfurt-Munich autobahn, which is clearly not. However, I am not a profi driver but if you dear me, I should be able to make it in a decent sedan (e.g. 4-wheel Subaru). If you have a 4x4, and some moderate skills, you will do it in 30-40 mins one way. Now maybe I was lucky and there are times the road is in a much worse condition (torrential rain or smth...) today on 10 Oct 21 it was absolutely passable. Views along the route: quite pleasant. Not stunning, but worth the trip. Hole: well, it's a hole in the middle of nowhere, you can't see its bottom or anything. If you're not rappelling and can't descend, you probably find yourself getting back to the coast 5 mins after arrival. But the whole experience was quite special, maybe it was due to a suspense about a truck-sized pot around the corner, which never happened. 5 stars. P.S. That's my 81st country, I have seen some roads, but I consider myself a regular driver.
Virtuosok — Google review
- Here is some advice from experienced 4x4 driver and adventure explorer: - It is really challenging to reach there. - The track starts from cost to upper point of the plateau consist of very steep 1 way slippery dirt track full of 180 degrees sharp turns one next after other. - Only 4x4 vehicles can do it that has standard proper High and Low range of 4WD looking. - Need to be at least an intermediate level of skill and experience 4x4 driver to do it safely. - Need to deflate tyres to 20 psi to get more grip and better traction, otherwise will be risk chance of slipping on the steep slippery dirt track turns. - It is recommended to keep navigation screen in front of you. It shows the sharp turns before you get to it, so, helps in getting prepared with the perfect speed and transmission setup. Don't panic or be in tense all the time, this will make you do mistakes. Just relax, enjoy and try to take it easy smoothly at fixed speed especially at turns. - If you aren't enough experienced 4x4 driver for doing it by your self, make sure to do it with a company of well experienced one. - Weather is nice at the top and many good views all over the trip. - The cave doesn't have any protection barriers, It's Just looks like a huge hall in the ground, so you have to be careful with having kids there and even careful for yourself. - Unfortunately, the cave is not accessible for ordinary people, only professional climbers with full equipment can do it. - Anyways, It is really special experience to visit that place, ether the place it self or the track, recommended for any adventure or exploring lover to do it, only with well preparations, vehicle, company and weather.

A long ride up, need 4wd. Spectacular cave, only accessible with the right mountaineering equipment but still worthwhile observing and the landscape around. Friendly local kids, bring some snacks 😊
Sebastian ( — Google review
Road is kinda scary, and you can not enter the cave without climbing equipment, but the views were amazing

you can't get in, we learned after driving up vertical gravelroads. it is a big hole inside nowhere, wich seems to be pretty deep. be careful.

Wadi Dayqah Dam, the largest in Oman, is a majestic oasis nestled amidst the rugged mountains of Muscat. The reservoir's edges have been transformed into a park, offering a perfect spot for picnics with panoramic views of the mountains mirrored in the water. It's a serene escape from city life and an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts. The scenic drive to the dam provides breathtaking views of surrounding landscapes.
One of the tourists spots in Quiriyat Oman near to Sur. Almost one and half hour drive from Muscat. You can do a lot of activities in the place like kayaking, etc. There is a big park to have picnic with the family. It is nice to go there during summer season and winter.
Irene T — Google review
It is really an exciting place to visit. The dam is so big with a beautiful garden. The view of the water is amazing. You can climb up the stairs towards the Cafe, drink something, relax and picture a wonderful scenery. Also, there are different types of boats you can rent for a period of time. Moreover, if you go in the morning, you can visit the visitor center and get some information about the dam and take pictures.
Abdulrahman A — Google review
Nice area to visit with great views across the Wadi. There’s a large Dam, cafe, toilets and gardens. I believe they have boat rentals and zipline type activities. Marked down to 4 stars as for entry you have to pay a few rials per person in cash which puts me off visiting more often.

Wadi Dayqah is a breathtaking destination and a must-visit spot for nature lovers. The combination of stunning landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and the serene atmosphere makes it an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The dam itself is an engineering marvel, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the tranquil reservoir. There are plenty of shaded areas for picnics, making it perfect for families or groups. The walking paths around the area are well-maintained, allowing visitors to explore the wadi’s beauty at their own pace.

Sunset is stunning at the Wadi Dhiqa. There is a nice Cafe with amazing views as well as a very nice park for picnic. It's over 100 km from Muscat but the trip is truly rewarding. Beautiful area.
Ula M — Google review
On October 13, we were the only visitors to the dam, creating a wonderfully serene atmosphere. The dam and its surroundings are well-maintained, making it a perfect spot for a quiet escape.
Filipp M — Google review
Unique experience at the Dam. Looks great once it is filled after rain. The viewing deck is a nice add on to look at the dam as close as it can get. The park is an added benefit as the visit to dam alone will not take more than 10-15 minutes and it would be such a waste of effort to drive all the way for 10-15 minutes. Most families carry their entire picnic setup to spend almost half a day in the park. Ample space to sit and for the kids to play. Remember to carry own food and water as it is difficult to find it over here. There used to be a restaurant but it was closed temporarily when we visited. Parking can be a challenge during weekends and holidays as people often flock to this place. In case you don't find parking in the main parking just outside the park, do try driving up to the "Visitor Center" where there is additional parking space and you can easily climb down the stairs directly into the park. The stairs are connected exactly behind the visitor center. TIP: Once you see the "13km to Dayqah Dam" keep navigating through the boards which have been put up at regular intervals. Google Maps will ask you to drive past the main entrance and take another gate which is closed as of now and you will need to come back to the main entrance.
Istafa A — Google review
This place is peaceful, you can enjoy fresh air and sunlight. The view is mesmerizing, The small garden at the dam is beautiful done and maintained. The parking need to be more good as the space is less, also there is only 1 shop where you can get food and beverage and that was also not operational when we went . Suggestion: few more food shop will give this place a better attraction. Washroom facility is little poor and need attention. Overall the place is nice and worth the visit

Really nice stop to see how Omani houses were built in the past. It is basically a ruin you can walk through though, so many sure to have some closed toe shoes to prevent broken glass and metals from scratching up your foot. Climb to the top for an epic view of the neighborhood and other old housing ruins. Come right at sunset for the perfect lighting too.

We spent 2 days with Mustafa visiting the Wahiba Sands desert, Wadi Bani Khalid + Wadi Tiwi and Sur. It was an incredible experience despite it being the relatively hot month of August. Mustafa enriched the tour with his deep knowledge of the Omani culture and passion for his region. Chiara was extremely helpful in giving us precise information and suggestions on planning the trip. Mustafa kindly drove us over the desert dunes at sunset which was unforgettable. Comfort was of the highest standards throughout the trip and well organised. Also had the chance to swim with sea turtles and see dolphins during a great boat trip to the Dimaniyat Islands (highly recommended). A big thank you to Mustafa and Chiara for the amazing experience! Would recommend Desert Camel Adventures to anyone planning on visiting this beautiful country.

It was a magical trip to a country full of culture, nature, history, traditions and incredible people. Chiara, our highly trained and smiling guide, conveyed to us her passion for the Omani land in a simple and engaging way, stimulating our curiosity day by day. During our stay at Anantara Resort, we booked A Romantic Spa Journey for 2 which included a full body scrub, full body massage, and facial. We were treated by the lovely Amy and Benny who were so lovely and listened to our needs. Before the treatment, we were welcomed with delicious cinnamon tea, then we used the hot tub, sauna and steam room amenities. We filled out a consultation form before we headed into the treatment room. I recommend trying this package during the month of February with a loved one. Amazing experience!!! Our bodies felt so soft for days after.

Traditional market
Nizwa Souq is a vibrant marketplace in Nizwa, Oman, offering an immersive experience into the local culture. The souq features dedicated sections for various goods such as fruits, vegetables, meats, and fish. Additionally, it is known for its exquisite handicrafts and silver jewelry, including the renowned silver khanjar. Visitors can explore traditional crafts and savor Omani cuisine while taking in the bustling atmosphere of the market.
A beautifully restored heritage market that offers an authentic glimpse into Omani culture, craftsmanship, and history. Well worth the trip from Muscat. --- ✅ Positive Aspects: • Historic charm: Located within a walled and renovated area, the souq preserves the essence of traditional Omani architecture and atmosphere. • Handicrafts and heritage goods: A central hub for silverware, pottery, spices, textiles, and other artisanal products that reflect the region’s cultural identity. • Cultural immersion: Ideal for travelers seeking a deeper connection with Oman’s past and present through local interactions and authentic shopping. • Nearby attractions: Just steps away from Nizwa Fort and other historical landmarks, making it a rich cultural stop. • Accessible from Muscat: About 1.5 hours by car, making it a feasible and rewarding day trip.

Visiting Nizwa Souq was an absolutely delightful experience! I was so happy the moment I stepped in — the entire place is full of vibrancy, color, and authentic Omani culture. From the lively atmosphere to the friendly local vendors, everything beautifully reflects the heart of Oman. The souvenirs are truly special — handmade crafts, silver jewelry, pottery, and traditional Omani goods that carry the essence of this country’s heritage. Every corner tells a story, and the scent of spices, frankincense, and Arabic coffee makes the experience even more memorable. If you want to feel the real Oman, Nizwa Souq is the place to be — a perfect blend of tradition, warmth, and timeless charm. 🌿🇴🇲✨

Amazing place to visit as a tourist. Local Omani market place with lots of amazing options of souvenirs to buy from. The ambient is also very nice with Omani incense smell all around, old heritage buildings, and beautiful crafts. A must visit place if you are in Nizwa city.

Nizwa Central Souq market is located near the castle in Nizwa. It's a cultural and historical hub in Oman, known for its traditional crafts like silver jewelry, unique pottery, aromatic spices and textiles. The market offers a variety of goods from fresh produce to handmade. Don't miss to taste dates, honey and delicious halwa. Prices are bit higher, prefer to buy goods from small shopkeepers, they deal fairly !!!
Sushil K — Google review
Nizwa Central Souq and its surrounding area are the main reasons I visited Nizwa, traveling so many kilometers from Muscat. The market area has a timeless charm, with narrow lanes, traditional shops, and local crafts that feel like stepping into an Aladdin-era setting. The famous Nizwa Fort is also very close, adding to the historical and cultural experience. Don’t miss trying the local Halwa—it’s famous for being incredibly tasty!
Laiju L — Google review
A very full souq (traditional market) with something for everyone. The inner souq has a wide spread of aromatic coffee and dates, authentic Omani frankincense and myrrh, soaps, halawa sweets, local veggies and more. The outside soups are where you go to find pottery, jewelry and the emblematic Omani knifes (khanjar) along with rare guns like vintage Martini Henry rifles. One shop even has a collection display (not for intl sale) of ancient rhino hide buckler style shields. Come to the Nizwa souq if you want to get all your souvenir shopping done in one go, and see some interesting cultural pieces along the way.

This place was really good. Perfect time to visit is from 4 to 6 pm where those evening sunlight will glow the streets and everything feels dreamy and we feel like we are in some kind of aladdin world. Comparitively prices are a bit over, but the sweets here in the market are ao tasty and worth the money, always go to those small shops.
Abhijith S — Google review
Great place for watching sunset. Long drive from Muscat, before the sunset you can walk around the old town, shopping in ghe local market. You have to pay the ticket for entrance and the price is pretty expensive than what you got from this place

Nizwa Fort, a 17th-century fortress built over 12 years under Sultan Bin Saif Al Yaruba's rule, features an impressive round tower and cannons at the entrance. The fort offers panoramic views of date plantations and the Hajar Mountains. As the historical capital of Oman, Nizwa was a center for trade and culture, attracting writers, poets, scientists, and religious leaders.
The Fort is really interesting and definitly worth a visit. You have a great View around the City/area. The information about culture and History is also easy to Understand.

Nizwa Fort is a significant historical landmark that attracts many tourists eager to explore its rich history and impressive architecture. The nearby souq area is just a short walk away and is definitely worth visiting for its traditional shops, local crafts, and vibrant atmosphere. While the entry fee is slightly higher than expected, the experience of exploring the fort and its surroundings makes it well worth it.
Laiju L — Google review
Very interesting. You’re allowed to walk around everywhere and check out all the rooms. A recommendation would be to include more furnishings to give a better feel of what the fort would have been like back in the day. We spent about an hour there over sunset, great view over Nizwa. Be sure to walk around the gardens where there are animals including camels and deer.
Georgina H — Google review
I loved it! Well organised exhibitions, the fort is well maintained and renovated. Compared to Bahla, I think Nizwa fort is such more informative and interactive. In the garden there are some animals, too. The entrance fee is 5 OMR.

The Nizwa Fort is a large castle in Nizwa, Oman built in the 17th century. The fort is a powerful reminder of the town's significance through turbulent periods in Oman's past history. It is a major tourist attraction, featuring a cylindrical tower and a museum that displays local artifacts. its well-preserved fortifications, and its location at the foothills of the Hajar mountains. In the garden area you can see some animals. The entry fee is 5 OMR. Visit for Oman's remarkable history, architecture and cultural heritage !!!

This is the main fort of Nizwa city, which used to be the capital of Oman. Excellent tourist attraction spot. A great example of ancient Omani Architecture. View from the top is also amazing.

Nice place to go. It’s possible to arrive in the morning and leave in the evening. Deep inside, I wished to see something more like it’s original - more raw, maybe - but the place is rebuilt. Make sure to eat the crepe there. Fort and market are in the same place, so don’t worry. about transport between them. The market is very nice. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to go to the real ruins.
Lorena M — Google review
Sprawling structure with extensive walls, gates and reinforcements. The old souq is hidden within the walls, as are some hotels, museums. Vehicle traffic only allowed at certain times inside the walls, would be even better if this was barred altogether.
