It is one of the largest artificial lakes in the world and is situated amidst the Great Indian Thar Desert.
I had put this place on my Udaipur Itinerary and I am glad I did so. Was easily the most fun I had on the trip. Booked an entire boat for an hour all to myself. Mr. Shiv Puri, the boat operator was friendly and helpful. Explore the place for a whole day if you like! The lake is huge and there are historical monuments nearby. The sights of the small islands on the water are beautiful and you can even make stops.

This beautiful man made lake is the 2nd largest in Asia. Which provides drinking water to Udaipur though being about 50 kms from the city . Has been built between 1711-1730 by the ruler of the famous Mewar royal family, roughly 387 years ago. Also, I took this shot from a place which is popular by the name Roothi Rani ka Mahal initially know as “Hawa Mahal”.

There is Dharamshala near the temple, it's good and the food is also good. Temple architecture is mesmerizing with huge pillars and a big Murti of God Ajithanth. One can go for derasar dwaar udgatan at 6:15am. You can go trekking to a nearby hill having 500 steps, small temple at top and watch sunrise and big rocks. Overall good experience

Honestly, I'm not into religion stuff but i kinda liked this temple. The experience to get there by car was so great because you can feel to really greens on the side of the rode. The temple situated between jungle and mountain. When you get there you can see the monkeys from the start, they are really friendly with everyone but you just need to feed them 🤣.

The best place to peacefully worship for Jains. It is not a picnic spot, no photos or videos allowed around the temple. Jains must have this temple on their bucket list. The receptionist wasn’t polite.

Tirupati Rushivan Adventure Park

Amusement park
Water & Amusement Parks
Amusement park with family-oriented rides, water slides & replicas of landmarks like the Taj Mahal.
Tirupati Rushivan, is a delightful destination for families and nature lovers. Known as one of the largest theme parks in Gujarat, it offers a unique blend of entertainment, adventure, and cultural experiences. The park is surrounded by lush greenery, making it a peaceful retreat from urban life. Tirupati Rushivan has a variety of attractions, including thrilling rides for kids and adults alike. The water park section is a favorite among visitors, especially during the summer. The park features replicas of famous monuments and structures from around the world, such as the Eiffel Tower and Taj Mahal. These provide a mix of fun and learning, especially for children. For those seeking adventure, there are options like ziplining, boating, and rope activities. These add a dash of excitement to the visit. Affordable entry tickets and activities. Suitable for all age groups. Clean and green environment. Ample parking space. Can get crowded on weekends and holidays. Tirupati Rushivan is a great choice for a day trip with family or friends. It combines fun, learning, and adventure, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re looking to relax in nature, enjoy thrilling rides, or explore cultural replicas, this theme park delivers a memorable experience. Some areas might require better maintenance. Would recommend visiting during weekdays for a more peaceful experience! One more suggestion, keep sufficient cash. They don’t accept online payment inside the park for activities. They just denied.
Rock — Google review
Tirupati Rushivan was, in one word, a ‘fine’ experience. It is definitely a good pick for children, offering a variety of activities to keep them entertained. However, the afternoon heat makes it quite difficult for them to play comfortably, as the scorching sun can be overwhelming. The rides, unfortunately, felt too basic for adults while at the same time appearing somewhat risky for children. A more balanced selection of attractions would greatly improve the experience, catering to both age groups in a safer and more engaging manner. One of the highlights, however, was the beautiful display of bougainvillaea. The vibrant, colourful flowers added a charming touch to the surroundings, making for a delightful visual treat. On the downside, the washroom facilities were absolutely dreadful. This is an area that certainly needs urgent improvement to enhance visitors' overall comfort.
Ananya K — Google review
Had an amazing time here! The place is packed with thrilling activities and fun for all ages. The adventure park had various activities (Go Karting, Dash Car, Mary Go Round, Roller Coaster, Frizbee, Garden Area etc which is perfect for anyone looking for a bit of adrenaline. The staff were friendly and made sure we felt safe and confident during every activity. The water park was just as fantastic. Donot expect it to be as big as other dedicated Water parks but a descent amount of rides that made it easy to spend the whole day here. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and there were plenty of shaded areas to relax when we needed a break. Food options were good — lots of variety and pretty reasonably priced for a park. The Food service was kind of less good but the food was actually good. Overall, an unforgettable experience. Will suggest visiting once ! Just keep in mind that this place is CASH ONLY. (They have option of online payment but only upto 50% of the cost)
Kuldeep M — Google review
Good place for 1 day picnic with family. So many different rides and activities to do for all age group. There's a water park inside which itself will take atheist a half day. Food stalls at regular interval. Greenery is well maintained. Ticket price 150 INR. Charges of rides not included in entry ticket fees. Large parking area.

The park is clean, well-maintained, and the staff go out of their way to ensure a great experience. Despite being popular, the park is well-organized, so even on busy days, the fun keeps going. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable day out!

Zanzari Waterfall

Nature & Parks
Waterfalls
A series of cascades on a wide, rocky riverbed, with pools for swimming, accessed via a short hike.
Had an amazing one-day picnic with friends at Zanjari Waterfall! 🌿💦 The place is absolutely beautiful, especially during the monsoon season — truly a must-visit. The waterfall looks stunning, but do stay away from getting too close to the water during monsoon as the flow is very strong and can be risky. We enjoyed some hot Maggi near the waterfall which made the experience even better. There were also camel rides nearby, which added a fun touch to the trip. You can also visit the Utkanteshwar Mahadev Temple, which is close by and worth seeing. One small tip: carry your own snacks and drinking water, as there are no major restaurants on the way to the waterfall. Overall, it was a wonderful day out in nature, and I’d highly recommend this spot for a short getaway with family or friends. 🌧️🌲
Yashraj J — Google review
This location is undoubtedly good spot to explore during the monsoon season. The natural beauty is breathtaking, with lush greenery enveloping the entire area, offering a refreshing escape from city life. Do carry an ample supply of drinking water and food, as there are no shops or refreshment stalls available in the vicinity. The area is largely untouched and remote, which adds to its charm but also calls for basic preparation. Be prepared for a moderate trek of approximately 3-4 kilometers. The walk through nature is truly rejuvenating, though certain sections of the path can become quite slippery due to rain, so proper footwear is strongly recommended. A camel ride is available near the entry point and adds a unique, enjoyable element to the visit especially for families or those looking for something different.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (4/5) Visited Zanzari Waterfall during the rainy season and it was a beautiful experience 🌿💦 The walk to reach the waterfall is quite long, but if you don’t want to walk much, you can also take a camel ride – I paid ₹400 for 2 people. The place feels very refreshing and peaceful once you reach the falls. 👉 Best time to visit: Rainy season 👉 Things to keep in mind: Be ready for a bit of walking, carry water, and wear comfortable shoes.
Hiral P — Google review
Such beautiful view and this place is for those people who likes to track because you have to travel by walk approximately 2/2.5 km from vehicle parking and as per name waterfall was not so much big but i think this was a peaceful location to enjoy. Though ,the waterfall was very little, the view was amazing must visit place 💗
Nikunj T — Google review
Good place for weekend refreshment. Waterfall and dam is nearby. Can visited with 4wheel and 2wheel as well. From parking spot to waterfall need to walk atleast 2-3 km. In dry season or low rainfall, easily can walk towards waterfall. As it is a river only during monsoon or heavy rain, could be hard to reach waterfall due to water
Bhargav S — Google review
"A beautiful and peaceful spot for nature lovers. Zanzari Waterfall offers scenic views, flowing water, and a calm vibe. Great place for a short trip or weekend getaway. Roads are decent, but best to visit in early morning or during monsoon for the best experience."
Akash V — Google review
A peaceful and scenic spot near Ahmedabad, perfect for a one-day getaway with friends or family. Best visited in monsoon or winter, but be cautious of slippery rocks and strong currents.
JIS H — Google review
A very peaceful and enjoyable place for one day trip, can spend the whole day in the nature then go there, just don’t go very near to the waterfall as there have been many accidents in the past where people have lost their lives. But if you stay safely then its a very good place to be at. Loved the vibe also you can get Maggie there as well. Village people will be there selling Maggie and tea. Avoid taking the camle ride coz it’s not that far from the parking lot.

Mini Amarnath Dham, located approximately 24 kilometers from Gandhinagar near Amarapur village, is a thoughtfully crafted replica of the sacred Amarnath Temple in Jammu and Kashmir. The serene environment, enhanced by natural surroundings and the nearby Sabarmati River, provides a tranquil setting for worship and reflection. Beyond its spiritual offerings, Mini Amarnath Dham serves as a family-friendly destination. The temple complex includes a playground and rides for children, making it suitable for a one-day picnic. Visitors can bring their own food or purchase refreshments on-site. Additionally, the proximity to Swapna Srushti Water Park offers an opportunity to combine spiritual and recreational activities in a single visit. The temple is open daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. It is especially popular during the month of Shravan, Maha Shivratri, and on Mondays, which are considered auspicious days for Lord Shiva devotees. The temple’s location on the Gandhinagar-Mahudi Road makes it easily accessible by car or public transport. Mini Amarnath Dham offers a unique blend of spiritual ambiance and family-friendly facilities, making it a worthwhile destination for both devotees and tourists seeking a peaceful retreat near Gandhinagar.

Very peaceful & with a good environment. Huge area to roam and kids friendly. This location comes through a route of a water park and has enough Greenery with naturality. This place has a huge parking space& They run only one vehicle so that's why it took everyone to wait for a long time for pickup & drop especially for elderly people. They took 30 per head for pickup & drop both. We and the family enjoyed it a lot.

Amarnath Dham, near Ahmedabad, in Gandhinagar, is a temple complex that houses representations of all 12 Jyotirlingas, a significant feature for Hindu devotees, and is located on Gandhinagar-Mahudi highway, about 40 km from Ahmedabad. The temple complex is notable for featuring representations of all 12 Jyotirlingas, which are revered as manifestations of Lord Shiva in Hindu mythology. The temple is a regular temple complex where you can visit and see the 12 Jyotirlingas in a series of caves one after another. One can spend time in devotion and feel nature. A cafeteria also there to have some snacks , tea and soft drinks.

Amarnath Dham located just a few hundred meters of hiking from the parking of Swapnasrushti waterpark. There are approx 250 steps to go upstairs to reach to the temple. The temple is dedicated and replicated with the temple of lord shiva in Amarnath J&K. There is a cave like artificial structure in which the replica of all 12 Jyotirlinga is placed. The temple is having very calm and natural vibes in the surrounding area. Swapnasrushti adventure park is located just at the exit of the cave. There is a cab service if someone does not want to hike. It is free of cost for physically disabled people. Overall, you can spend a good quality time with your kids and family over here.

Spacious rooms, good food, and recreational activities. Some resorts are praised for their ambiance, such as a royal or village theme, and for providing a peaceful atmosphere for relaxation. Friendly staff, cleanliness, and overall good value for money.
Himanshu M — Google review
I recently spent a wonderful day and night at Aalloa Resort, and it was a truly refreshing experience. The staff were cooperative, friendly, and very attentive, making our stay comfortable and pleasant. The rooms were neat, clean, and well-maintained, and the amenities provided were quite good. The food was fresh, tasty, and of good quality — we really enjoyed every meal. The resort offers some unique experiences like camel rides and cycling, which added to the fun. The location is beautifully set with a view of the Sabarmati River, surrounded by nature, birds, and peaceful scenery — an ideal spot to relax your mind away from the rush of city life. Suggestions for improvement: The mattresses could be softer for better comfort. The swimming pool can be made larger and perhaps include a music system to enhance the ambience. The road from the highway to the resort could be widened for smoother access. The home theatre wasn’t working, so it would be great if that could be fixed, please ensure that all services are available during the full season time. Overall, it’s a beautiful place worth visiting for anyone looking to spend quality time in peace and natural surroundings. I will definitely recommend this resort who needs relax and peace.I’d love to visit again! 🌿✨

History Museums
Dandi Kutir Museum, also known as Salt Mount, is a large interactive museum that opened in January 2015. Shaped like a mound of salt, it tells the story of Mahatma Gandhi's life and teachings. The museum holds historical significance as it is dedicated to Gandhi's struggle in the Indian nationalist movement. Visitors can enter for a nominal fee and are taken on guided tours in groups.
Dandi Kutir (Salt Mount) in Gandhinagar is a truly unique and immersive experience that beautifully brings Mahatma Gandhi’s life and philosophy to life. The museum, shaped like a giant mound of salt, is both symbolic and visually striking. Inside, the use of multimedia, 3D visuals, and audio guides makes the journey through Gandhiji’s life—from his childhood to the Dandi March—engaging and deeply moving. It’s not just a history lesson, but a powerful reminder of simplicity, truth, and non-violence. The entire setup is modern, well-maintained, and perfect for all age groups. A must-visit if you’re in Gujarat and want to connect with India’s freedom struggle in an inspiring way.

An absolutely unforgettable and immersive experience! 🙏 The Dandi Kutir Museum is a modern marvel, uniquely shaped like a salt mound to honor the historic Dandi March. 🧂 Inside, the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi are brought to life using incredible technology like 3D holography, 360-degree shows, and audio guides. 🎧 It’s not just a museum; it’s an inspiring journey through India's freedom struggle that touches your heart. The entire place is exceptionally well-maintained and surrounded by beautiful gardens. A must-visit for all age groups to truly understand Gandhiji's legacy! 🇮🇳✨

Awesome, Fabulous In just ₹10/- got the experience of 3D visualization and Gandhi's History.. Amazing videos played and literally it's True India and high technology involved. Amazing work has been executed.. Dandi Kutir is a unique and inspiring museum shaped like a massive salt mound, symbolizing the historic Salt March led by Mahatma Gandhi. Located in Gandhinagar, it blends history with modern technology, using audio-visuals, 3D presentations, and interactive exhibits to narrate Gandhiji’s life journey—from his childhood to his role in India's freedom movement. The experience is immersive, informative, and emotionally moving. The architecture is striking, and the storytelling is powerful. A perfect place for students, history lovers, and anyone who wishes to understand the spirit of non-violence and truth. A must-visit gem in Gujarat.
Ankit S — Google review
Dandi Kutir in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, is a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi and the Salt Satyagraha. While it's a well-intentioned tribute, I felt it tried too hard to cover everything about Gandhi's life, making it feel a bit overwhelming. The exhibits were informative, with interactive displays and life-size dioramas, but some areas seemed neglected, and the displays could be more engaging. The 51-foot-tall Gandhi statue and surrounding bronze statues are impressive, though. The museum's architecture, designed to resemble a village, is also noteworthy. Overall, it's worth visiting if you're in Gandhinagar, but don't expect a thoroughly curated experience. The grounds are nice, with a peaceful atmosphere, but some facilities could be better maintained.
Nihad U — Google review
Excellent place where life of Mahatma Gandhi is shown with Rs 10 only where 3D picturazition done, I was interested knowing all the facts of Gandhi Ji, which were not shown. But place is excellent, clean, spacious...
Mathskart C — Google review
The concept of the Dandi Kutir Museum is impressive, but the overall experience was disappointing. The ticket price felt too high for what was offered, and many interactive displays were not functioning properly. The staff seemed uninterested in guiding visitors, and the waiting time was longer than expected. The museum has potential, but it really needs better maintenance and visitor management to make the visit worthwhile.

One of the biggest personal collections of vintage cars, bikes, buggies and utility vehicles, Auto World is a delight for those who love wheels. Amongst the 300 plus menu of mechanical extravaganza, some noted ones stand out; the car that was used in the movie Gandhi and the first May Bach ever made. Visitors can also find rare and wonderful assemblage of vehicles including a Bentley, Lagonda, Rolls Royce, Cadillac, Austin, Jaguar, Mercedes and Auburns. The 1923 Rolls 20 HP with a typical shooting brake-body by Barker is one of the most fascinating cars from the Rolls Royce cache. The museum has also found a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for this amazing collection. Brief History: Pranlal Bhogilal started the Auto World Museum in his private estate of 2200 acres, Dastan, in 1927, and earned the Guinness Book of World Record listing in 1987 as the owner of the world's largest private garage. An enthusiast for many years, Bhogilal collected over 204 cars of which 105 are in Ahmedabad. He ensured that all cars were in running condition. Pranlal Bhogilal passed away in 2011 at the age of 73. It is said that in 2006, Ulrich Schmid-Maybach of the illustrious Maybach family flew down to Ahmedabad from Germany to convince Pranlal Bhogilal to sell him a 6-cylinder Maybach that was designed by his grandfather. Bhogilal refused to part with this treasure. Visiting Hours 10am–9pm (Monday closed) Ticket Prices: 11 years & Above: 100/- 4 years to 11 years: 50/- Mobile & Camera: 100/- (No vides only Photos)

The vintage car museum for automotive enthusiasts. If you want to bring mobile or camera inside for photography, you need to pay for it. They have huge collection of many cars including but not limited to BMW, Rolls royce, Bentley, Mercedes benz, Chevrolet and many more. The property is huge and maintained very well. They have added the information plate in front of each car with make-model, year and country. You will get the details of princely states who were using these cars as well. Worth to explore once.
Milan P — Google review
There is a wide range of vintage cars, all shown in one place. Over 100 cars. However the condition of vehicles could be improved as cars had paintwork issues or metal trim with rust spots. The staff were also unhelpful (not rude, but not welcoming) and you also need to pay for a special ticket to be allowed ti take photos. There is a member of staff following you around to ensure that only the people who have paid to take photos use a single device. Overall, worth a visit, especially considering the low entry cost.
Nishil A — Google review
I visited this museum last month with my college alumni, and it was a memorable experience! The museum has an incredible collection of cars dating back to the late 1800s and early 1900s. From bullock-cart type cars to classic beauties from prestigious global brands, every vehicle is displayed with proper details like the year, maker, and country. They also have iconic Indian cars such as the original Tata Nano and Maruti 800, along with a few vintage motorcycles. As an automobile enthusiast, I absolutely loved walking through the history and evolution of four-wheelers. It was fascinating to see how massive and beautifully designed old cars were compared to today’s compact models. The craftsmanship and design truly reflect the art and engineering of their time. Tickets are required both for entry and for using your mobile camera. Initially, I felt the pricing was slightly on the higher side, but after seeing the rare collection and the way they’ve maintained these vehicles, it felt worth it. Do note that only one phone is allowed per photo ticket, security guards are present at every corner, and video recording is not allowed. 👉 Best time to visit is around lunchtime, as there is a Vintage Theam Restaurant inside the premises where you can enjoy a nice meal. That way you can easily spend an entire afternoon exploring cars and relaxing over food. Overall, it was a crazy and satisfying experience. A must-visit for families, friends, and especially petrolheads who will appreciate every detail. Highly recommended!

Nestled in the serene surroundings of Mahemdavad, Gujarat, the Sri Siddhivinayak Devasthan is a magnificent temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh. Its unique elephant-shaped architecture and beautifully landscaped gardens create an inviting atmosphere for visitors. The temple houses a stunning idol of Ganesha on the third floor, while the first floor showcases various Ganesha idols from around the world, each with its own story.
We went to the Asian's biggest temple of lord Shree Ganesha during summer vacation. It makes up from the mountain and cave structured temple makes me feel like I'm on an adventure! It was a blissful and great experience with family and friends both. I liked the Prasadam arrangement, entering the temple, various Ganesha's sculptures across the world there. I would love to go there again and again!!💕

Sri Sidhi Vinayaka Devasthala is a unique and beautiful temple, known for holding the record of being the biggest Ganesha-shaped temple. The architecture and premises are really impressive and well maintained. I visited during Ganesha Chaturthi, so it was quite crowded and took around 30 minutes in line. The temple is properly managed and clean, with a food court and even a small game zone for kids, which makes it family-friendly. Overall, a very nice spiritual and cultural spot to visit in Ahmedabad.

Darshan is smooth, and the environment feels peaceful with the chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya” all around. The temple premises are clean, well-organized, and perfect for spending some quiet, prayerful time with family. If you’re in Mehmdavad, this temple is definitely a must-visit for blessings and peace of mind. 🙏✨

Shri Siddhi Vinayak Devasthan which is located in Mehmadabad. It is very beautiful and stands out in terms of design because the shape of the temple is made like the shape of Ganpati Bappa's face. This temple is two-storeyed, in which the temple of Ganpati Bappa is on the second floor, the temple of Mahadev on the first floor and the shopping area on the ground floor. This temple is open from 6 am to 10 pm. There is also a food court where you can eat whatever you want, in which South Indian, Punjabi, Chinese and Gujarati and fast food are available. But there is nothing good to eat here. There is also a very large space for parking outside. Many people also do their own vows here. In which you have to bring your own wheat and make it upside down near the temple and after the vow is completed, you have to come back to the temple and make a straight vow from the wheat.

Sights & Landmarks
Sabarmati Ashram, also known as Gandhi Ashram or Satyagraha Ashram, is a significant site of Hindu spirituality located in the Sabarmati suburb of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It served as the residence for Mahatma Gandhi and his wife Kasturba Gandhi. The ashram is renowned for being the starting point of Gandhi's famous Dandi March.
I really don’t know whether to put a 4star or 1star, anyway, as a place known by one of the most influenced personality ever, providing 5 star. The place, you will feel like an old clean compound, where the great asabarmati pass by. I reached whe it was quiet calm, very less crowded, neat surroundings. But the government could do more. They can put a Khadi store there for outsiders, can have a stall of fresh juice, can have a ‘Goshaala’ where you get pure ghee.. government could do much more, but presently it is at outskirts of a big city with less development reached. Anyway worth of a single visit.

I recently visited Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram and it was a very peaceful and meaningful experience. The place has a calm atmosphere and you can actually feel the simplicity with which Mahatma Gandhi lived. The museum inside is well maintained and displays his personal belongings, letters, photographs and important moments from India’s freedom struggle. Walking around the ashram gives a sense of history and inspiration at the same time. The view of the Sabarmati River adds to the serenity of the place. It is not just a tourist spot, but a place that reminds us of Gandhiji’s values and way of life. Definitely worth visiting.

Gandhiji's Sabarmati Ashram, located on the banks of the Sabarmati River, is a must-visit for anyone interested in India's independence movement. This serene was Gandhi's home from 1917 to 1930, and it's where he planned the Dandi March. The ashram's museum showcases his life, with exhibits on his philosophy, letters, and personal belongings. The peaceful gardens and tranquil atmosphere make it a perfect spot for reflection. A visit here inspires and educates. This place was really helpful for the students and the people who are interested in the history of India. Inside the ashram there is art gallery of the independence movement. There is a small museum there which exhibits the different verities of charkas. The ashram was well maintained and clean.

I recently had the chance to visit Gandhi Ashram with my fellow Local Guides, and it was a truly memorable experience. The moment you step into the premises, there’s a deep sense of peace that surrounds you — it feels like stepping back in time to the era of Mahatma Gandhi. The museum is incredibly well-maintained, and walking through it while reading the display boards and admiring the oil paintings really gives you a glimpse into Bapu’s life, values, and struggles. Every corner of the Ashram carries a sense of calm and inspiration. It’s not just a historical place, but a space where you can reflect, learn, and feel connected to something much bigger than yourself. If you’re in Ahmedabad or anywhere nearby, this is a must-visit spot — not just for history lovers, but for anyone seeking a peaceful and meaningful experience.

A quiet afternoon spent walking the peaceful grounds of the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad. It’s impossible not to feel the weight and grace of history here. Standing in the simple room where Mahatma Gandhi lived is a powerful reminder that the greatest change often starts with the greatest simplicity. A truly humbling and necessary visit.

One of the cleanest and well-maintained places I have been to. I had an industrial visit here. This ashram shows the life of Gandhi in an extensive way. Lot of trees in the premises. Must-visit.
Ramya I — Google review
Nestled on the banks of the Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad (with a wide access now created from the Sabarmati Riverfront project), the Sabarmati Ashram stands as a pillar of India’s freedom movement and the personal abode of Mahatma Gandhi from 1917 to 1930. Founded by Gandhi, the ashram served not only as his residence but as the nerve-centre of the Non-Violent Civil Disobedience Campaigns, including the 1930 Salt March. The simple, humble buildings and open spaces reflect Gandhi’s ideals of truth, simplicity, self-reliance and community life. A standout architectural element of the ashram is its museum complex – the Gandhi Smarak Sangrahalaya – designed by legendary architect Charles Correa and completed in 1963. Correa imbued the museum with a vernacular modernism: modular 6 m × 6 m units arranged around courtyards and water-bodies, brick piers, stone floors, tiled roofs and wooden louvre screens all deliberate to reflect ‘swadeshi’ materials and climatic responsiveness. The museum architecture draws inspiration from the layout of village houses in Gujarat’s Banni region and is designed for incremental growth, symbolic of a ‘living institution’. In recent years, the ashram has entered a major new phase: the central and Gujarat governments have rolled out a masterplan for a ₹1,200 crore redevelopment project that will expand the ashram precinct from the current 5 acres to around 55 acres, encompassing 36 existing buildings for conservation, restoration or redevelopment. The plan includes new visitor-orientated amenities such as an orientation centre, interactive workshops on charkha spinning, handmade paper, cotton weaving, a library and archives, and multilingual interpretive exhibits. Together, the ashram’s historic legacy, Correa’s architecture and the sweeping redevelopment project combine to make Sabarmati Ashram not just a preserved heritage site but an evolving memorial that aims to communicate Gandhi’s values to future generations in a holistic, immersive way.

This is my second visit after fifteen years. During my first visit I spent about three hours at the place going through each and every display. On the River front things were not so well organised. Now the place looks aged and lacks maintenance. The river front is now totally revamped and looks very inviting. Construction work for the new museum has started and may be, after couple of years it will again be a place to visit.

I visited Manek Chowk in Ahmedabad during a corporate trip. It’s near Jama Masjid and Delhi Gate and famous as a late-night food market open until 1 or 2 a.m. We went there because most of Ahmedabad closes by 8–9 p.m., unlike Delhi which stays lively late. Honestly, the experience was underwhelming. The area is crowded, but there are only 8–10 food carts, mostly selling the same items like bhaji pav, pulao, kaju pulao, small pizzas, and some South Indian snacks. Everything is served on plastic chairs and tables in open air, and hygiene seemed low. The only highlight for us was the jamun fruit shots they were really fresh and tasty. Overall, if you want a full dining experience, I wouldn’t recommend it. But if you just want to experience the local late-night food vibe in Ahmedabad, it’s worth a quick visit.

Rating: 1/5(As can't give zero stars) Tried Mysore Masala Dosa, Manchurian Noodles, and Cold Coco — would rate them 1/5, 1/5, and 3/5 respectively. The dosa was a disaster — dripping with oil, almost fried. Someone, a decade ago, probably decided to fuse sweet curd/lassi with masala dosa, and people just went along. It’s honestly the murder of authentic South Indian food. Sambhar was just average. The noodles tasted like ₹10 roadside fare — overly salty, with small-length noodles. The Manchurian was extremely dry, halved pieces resembling soy chunks. Every food outlet seemed to serve the same mediocre stuff, just under different names. And the crowd — chaotic, overcrowded, barely space to stand.Even Fish Market is less noisy then this place. Prices are also overhyped and unjustified for the quality offered. For a tourist, I’d strongly recommend skipping this so-called “iconic” Manek Chowk. Ahmedabad has better and cleaner places to enjoy local flavours.

ஆங்கிலத்தில் எழுதுவதற்கு மன்னிக்கவும் dt 22-03-25. Do Not Travel to Gujarat from March to July, the heat is very very very High. Visited this famous well known mosque. Ladies are not allowed inside the mosque. Mosque is quiet small and compact, but highlights the beauty of the indo islamic architecture. Built in the year 1572-73 by an Abyssinian (person from Ethiopia) called Sidi Saiyyed, who served under the then sultan. This mosque is well known for the wonderful intricate carvings in stone and their unique semi circular tracery windows, depicting the tree of life. Paper cutouts were made of the carved screens from which two wooden replicas were made and these are now in museum in London and New york. The driver was telling us that this mosque is still in use as the emblem of the Ahmedabad municipality. The grave of sidi saiyyed is inside this mosque. The mosque is in a congested area, hence parking is out of the question. Definitely worth a visit to admire the wonderful jalli work in the windows.

I went to Sabarmati Riverfront early in the morning during my exam days, and it turned out to be a very relaxing experience. The place is calm, the sound of the river waves is very soothing, and the cool morning breeze makes it even better. Ahmedabad can be quite hot, so visiting this place in the morning felt really peaceful. There’s a metro station around 2 km away, so it’s also easy to reach. The main riverfront area is open 24/7, but if you want to visit the Atal Bridge or garden area, they open after 9 AM. There are trees all around, and you can even find bicycles nearby to ride, though they are a bit costly. Still, it’s a good experience, especially for visitors from outside the city. Overall, a great spot for a quiet walk or just to sit and relax in the fresh air.

The riverfront is very beautiful and it is very peaceful during non-peak hours. I visited during early morning hours and I saw people cycling and jogging on the promenade. The river was very calm and greenery was lush. The infrastructure developed by the government there is very well maintained. The walking space is huge and very picturesque. The long riverfront offers ample space to exercise, cycle, run and walk. The place is also clean and not littered by plastic. I also saw a river cleaning boat gathering trash that was thrown in river during early hours.

e Sabarmati Riverfront is a major urban revitalization project in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, that transformed a neglected riverfront into a public recreational space with parks, gardens, promenades, event venues, and improved infrastructure. The project, which began in 2005, created public riverfront land by channeling the river, enabling year-round water management, reducing pollution, and providing a space for recreation, public events, and improved traffic flow. It features a two-level promenade, cycling paths, and public seating, and has become a venue for events like the International Kite Festival.

The temple features a 12,000-sq.-ft. temple room adorned with intricate artwork and mesmerizing statues of Lord Krishna. It offers a peaceful atmosphere for meditation and spiritual contemplation.
Such a beautiful and peaceful place. The temple is huge and so well maintained. Radha Krishna, Govardhan Giriraj, and Ram Darbar murtis are all stunning. The middle canopy with Krishna’s paintings is so intricate and eye-catching — you can’t stop looking at it. The moment you enter, the walls are full of Krishna paintings and it just sets a divine vibe. Aartis are very blissful and calming. They serve khichdi as prasad and lovingly insist everyone should have it. On Ekadashi, they have fasting prasad too. There’s a proper arrangement for keeping footwear. Only thing is it gets extremely crowded during festivals, so better to go on a normal day if you want some quiet time. Feel so calm and positive every time I visit.

✨ Divine Bliss and Beautiful Architecture at ISKCON, Ahmedabad (Sri Sri Radha Govind Dham) I had a truly wonderful experience visiting the ISKCON Temple on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway for a local connect meet-up with fellow local guides. As a first-time visitor to Ahmedabad, the moment I stepped inside around 4 PM, the vibe was instantly divine and incredibly soothing. The temple's architecture, a gorgeous blend of Gujarati Sompura and Rajasthani styles, is absolutely stunning! 🏛️ Architecture and Art: A Must-See The temple is an artistic marvel. The main hall is breathtaking with its gleaming marble floors and gold-accented pillars. I was particularly mesmerized by the art: * The Deities: The central deities of Sri Sri Radha Govinda are beautifully adorned and a sight to behold. * The Walls: The huge, vibrant mural art on the side walls depicts various stories of Krishna, full of colour and detail. * The Dome: The intricate circular painting on the main dome, illustrating the Rasa Lila (Lord Krishna's dance with the Gopis), is spectacular. 🙏 Spiritual Experience The highlight of our visit was attending the buildup to the Sandhya Aarti (Gaura Aarti), which generally begins around 6:30 PM. Sitting in the hall, the atmosphere came alive with the powerful, rhythmic chanting and dancing of "Hare Rama Hare Krishna." It was a deeply moving and transformative experience. ✅ Accessibility and Facilities The temple is well-managed with excellent facilities for visitors: * Footwear: There's an easy and organized shoe-keeping facility right near the entrance. * Washrooms: Clean and well-maintained washroom facilities are available. * Water: Drinking water is easily accessible within the complex. * Eatery/Prasad: * We enjoyed delicious sweets (Prasad) from the Mithaiwala stalls run by the temple trust. * The Mandir Seva eatery outside the main temple offers very simple and reasonably priced meal options. * Seva & Gifts: Counters for important services like Gau Seva (cow protection) and the Food For Life program are present . There's also a lovely gift shop called "Matchless Gifts." Overall, this ISKCON temple is not just a place of worship but a hub of art, culture, and community service with free entry. Highly recommended for a peaceful and enriching visit! Timing Tip: Plan your visit to be there for the 6:30 PM Sandhya Aarti for the full, immersive experience.

As in all ISKCON temples in metropolitan cities, this one too has the air of grandeur to it. However, it is much more devotee-friendly than most other ISKCONs I've visited. It's located quite far from Ahmedabad City centre, but easily accessible. I guess it will be easier to reach, once all the Metro lines start functioning.

Very nice temple, when you enter you find good energy in the hall area. The temple is very clean inside as well as the outside area. The atmosphere is very pleasant. One should visit with family. The temple ceiling and walls tells you the story of lord Krishna with all important events in his life. The prasad is also tasty. Even my office is behind the temple. The temple is the landmark for many travellers and is located facing SG highway. You must visit on normal days when aarti or bhajans are in progress. If you are religious you would definitely love this place even after completing darshan you can sir in the premise and experience peace.

While the site itself is impressive, visitor facilities and information are limited, so manage your expectations and prepare for a largely self-guided tour.

Slightly remote place, on the way to bhavnagar from ahmedabad. There is less public transportation means. Very nice place to feel the ancient history, no entry fees for visiting the site. Lothal museum is under construction about 5 km from the site.

A must-visit place for history lovers! Lothal is one of the most fascinating sites of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization. It’s amazing to see how advanced people were thousands of years ago — with a proper dockyard, drainage system, and town planning. The museum nearby showcases pottery, seals, and artifacts that give you a real sense of life during that time. The place is peaceful, surrounded by nature, and perfect for a day trip from Ahmedabad. If you love history, archaeology, or just want to explore India’s ancient roots, Lothal is definitely worth visiting.
Darshan K — Google review
Not much in terms of excavation, but a lovely place teeming with birds! Though a huge museum is coming up nearby. Worth a visit only if passing through nearby.
Mehul J — Google review
The Harappa civilization site at Lothal is a very beautiful place. It exudes a sense of peace, and the cool breeze makes you wonder why the people of Lothal chose to live here—perhaps it was because of this serene environment and pleasant climate. Although the structures are very old, their condition is gradually deteriorating because visitors enter the ruins, causing damage. In its current open state, it seems like the Archaeological Survey of India is not actively preserving it. The cemetery appears almost lost, with no accessible path to reach it. Overall, the site is very enriching for history enthusiasts, while others may see it as just a casual visit. However, you can truly appreciate that the people of that era had knowledge of science and mathematics. The government should take action to protect and preserve this heritage site.
Rajveer P — Google review
Visiting lothal on weekends specially on early morning drives is recommended. I have visited yhe site at post monsoon so the dockyard is full of water giving real vibe. The location shows there is a museum is permenent closed. If you have prior knowledge of this site then this visit could be the most interesting. Otherwise you real roam around and exit.
Devashree P — Google review
Best time to visit this place is during winters. You will be able to sit and experience the thousands of years of history here. A must visit for history enthusiast. Currently the archeological musuem is under construction. There is no information when it will open again, therefore you won't be able see the artifacts that have been found here. But the site is open and you can definitely visit it.
Srijeeta S — Google review
Visited Lothal with family and really enjoyed the experience. The place gives a simple but amazing glimpse into one of the world’s oldest civilizations. Seeing the ancient dockyard and town layout felt like stepping back in time. Display photos of interesting artifacts explains things nicely. The area is peaceful, clean, and easy to explore. Carry water and a cap because the sun likes to attend the tour too. Great spot for a short, educational family trip. Perfect for anyone curious about old Indian history in a calm setting.

This place is the best place for the kids in Surendranagar. There are lots of playing instruments where kids enjoys their rides and have a fun. For elders they can do walking and jogging. Sunday and Saturday rushes will be there. Timing 6pm to 10pm. Outside of park jumping place and riding kids car also attracts the kids. Four star is because of small spaces. In weekends it will be too crowded.

Decorative Hindu temple & pilgrimage spot believed to alleviate the symptoms of mental illness.
One of the most powerful and peaceful Hanuman temples in India. The atmosphere here is extremely divine and energetic. What I liked: ✔ Very strong spiritual vibe ✔ Neat, well-maintained temple campus ✔ Free prasad & bhojan facility ✔ Easy darshan on weekdays ✔ New 54-ft Hanuman statue looks amazing ✔ Helpful volunteers & good management Best time to visit: Early morning for peaceful darshan Avoid Saturday if you don’t like crowds (huge rush) Facilities: Big parking area Bhojnalaya (free food) Yatri Niwas / Dharamshala Wheelchair/battery car support Drinking water & resting areas Perfect for: devotees, family trips, spiritual healing, peaceful darshan. Overall: A must-visit temple for anyone seeking strength, blessings and a very powerful Hanumanji darshan.

The temple is truly a beautiful and peaceful place. It is very well maintained, and you can clearly see the efforts of the management and staff in keeping everything clean and organized. The surroundings are calm, the atmosphere is divine, and the entire place gives a sense of peace and positivity. However, visitors should also understand that it’s our shared responsibility to keep the temple clean. The staff and volunteers work hard every day to maintain the beauty and purity of this sacred place, but public cooperation is equally important. Please avoid littering, follow the temple rules, and help maintain the cleanliness and serenity of this divine place. A big appreciation to the temple management for their excellent maintenance and devotion towards keeping this holy place so pleasant and peaceful.

I have been visiting Salangpur Hanumanji Mandir for almost 25 years now and have witnessed its amazing transformation — from a small temple to a grand tirtha sthaan. The growth in the last 5–7 years is truly remarkable. The new dharamshala, with 952 rooms, is incredible — it feels like a 5-star hotel with all modern amenities. The new bhojanshala is outstanding too, with an impressive capacity and excellent management. As for the temple, there are no words — simply divine. Every visit feels special, and the murti of Hanumanji astonishes me every single time. All this is possible only because of Hanumanji’s grace and blessings on everyone who visits. Jai Shree Ram! 🙏

Peaceful, powerful, and deeply spiritual. Salangpur Hanumanji Mandir is one of the most divine places I’ve ever visited. Truly a place where faith comes alive. The temple campus is vast and beautifully maintained, featuring serene parks, multiple temples, and comfortable guesthouses. The facilities are excellent, with clean surroundings, well-managed darshan arrangements, and courteous staff. Delicious food (Prasad) is also available for devotees.

A Truly Divine and Transformative Experience at Sarangpur Hanuman Temple ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Stars: A Must-Visit Pilgrimage Site in Gujarat The Kashtbhanjan Hanuman Temple in Sarangpur is not just a place of worship; it is an experience that touches the soul. My visit here was profoundly peaceful and spiritually uplifting. Atmosphere and Environment: The moment you step into the sprawling temple complex, you are struck by a sense of calm and divinity. The air resonates with chants and devotion. Despite the crowds (especially on Saturdays and Tuesdays), the management is incredibly efficient, ensuring a smooth darshan (viewing) process. The temple itself is stunning, showcasing the signature, intricate architecture associated with the Swaminarayan tradition. The cleanliness of the entire premises is commendable. Spiritual Significance & the Deity: The central belief that Lord Hanuman here alleviates all sufferings (kasht) and evil influences is powerful, and the atmosphere reinforces this faith. The murti (idol) of Hanuman Ji is majestic and vibrant, inspiring instant reverence. Facilities and Hospitality: The temple trust does a fantastic job of managing facilities. Clean and affordable accommodation options are available, making it feasible for multi-day visits. The food at the canteen/dining hall is simple, hygienic, and satisfying. Overall Impression: My time at Sarangpur provided immense mental peace and a powerful spiritual recharge. It's a place where faith is visibly tangible. If you are seeking solace, a highly organized pilgrimage experience, or simply a magnificent architectural marvel, make sure to visit this divine abode. It is truly one of the most powerful and well-managed temples I have ever visited in India

One of the best temple adjacent to BAPS swaminarayan temple dedicated to God Hanuman. It has a neat and clean surrounding and a devine feeling. Ample parking is available near temple and also many food outlets. It is also known as Kashtbhanjan temple. It's near Botad in Saurashtra and a popular destination among devotees. It has several good guest houses surrounded by temple with a Gaushala.

One of the best place in Morbi to hangout. I would strongly suggest to visit this place when you are in the city. There is a safe and enough place for parking.
Sunny V — Google review
As one enters Morbi swaying pylons of the suspension bridge and the beatific riverfront is a nostalgic reminder of Victorian London. Located 64 km from Rajkot is the town of Morbi with its quaint cobbled alleyways and buildings reminiscent of 19th century Europe. Morbi’s former ruler Sir Waghji inspired by Colonial influences designed a technologically planned and versatile city. The visitor is welcomed into the city through a grand suspension bridge, an artistic and technological marvel of that period. European influence in town planning further contributed to a central square known as the Green Chowk, approachable by three gates each designed in its own inimitable style incorporating both Rajput and Italian elements.

Shree Ghela Somnath Mahadev Mandir

Mentioned on

Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks

Shree Ghela Somnath Mahadev Mandir is a less popular but historically significant temple in Gujarat. It holds the Shiva Linga that was brought here from Somnath during an attack by Ghori, with Minaldevi and Ghelo Vanoyo risking their lives to protect it. The temple is about 40 minutes away from Gadhada and offers food, stay facilities, and parking for devotees.
Which we know by the name of Mahadev, that is Bholiyanath, that is Ghela Somnath Mahadev, which is located in Jasdan taluka. This is the Shankar Bhagwan temple, which we know by the name of Ghela Somnath. On the circumambulation path of Ghela Somnath temple, the names of the twelve Jyotirlingas and information about them are given. When you enter the temple, a garden has also been made on its left side in the name of the martyred soldier. What else can I say where there is real Somnath Mahadev and also Ghela Somnath, to whom you can get whatever you wish for.A photo of the history of Ghela Somnath has also been added to the review.
