A great small zoo. The enclosures are really good. It is mainly under shade which was important in August. We saw most animals except the big cats and wolves. The penguins were our favourites. The cafe bars were good value and so was the entrance price. It was our first Italian zoo and we were impressed and had a fun packed 3 hours.

Like a fairytale. Old coupe goes up and down every half an hour. On the hill there is a great view on Montecatini and a big number of caffes and restaurants. Very romantic and prestige.

This is a great market to visit. We purchased some items from a few of the stalls there and they were all very delicious. Upstairs there is an awesome food court where there are heaps of choices to eat. We also had a coffee and avocado toast here at one of the places and it was great. We also found the whole vibe and people watching fascinating!

May 2025. Seems to be one of the major Church destinations in Florence. A little further out from the core tourist destinations. Paid to enter and was able to also visit the cloisters. Personally, like for some of the churches in Florence, I appreciated the exterior more than the interior. The attached piazza is nice.

Such a beautiful experience! In order to see the beautiful views at the top, you have to walk about 10-15 minutes up an incline with stairs/ ramps. It's not too bad once you take your time. The view of Florence from the top of the Plaza is unreal, you have a panoramic view and can take great pictures. There are many food/ drink/ trinket vendors across the Plaza as well as benches to sit. It's free entry and you can stay as long/ little as you'd like. I highly recommend making the time to visit if you're in the area.

Located above the Piazza Michelangelo this church has a great view. The cemetery is beautiful and many of the monuments feature recognizable names. Inside the church has an understated grace that still inspires awe. All in all a lovely visit and a recommended stop.

Loved our experience here. We couldn't get to all the wine farms and so opted to give this place a try. We were not disappointed. Great way to try different wines from various wine farms and regions. You can spend as little or as much as you want because you choose how many wines you want to taste.

my friend and I ended up at this winery by chance while walking in the nearby town and I am so pleased we did. It technically wasn’t open, but the man there gave us a whole tour and was so kind and welcoming. He was very knowledgeable about the place and gave us all the information. We had an amazing time and highly recommend this place.

San Gimignano is like a more compact version of Sienna. It's a small medieval town that is just lovely to visit! Walking along the streets of this place is like taking me back centuries ago, traversing the same narrow and rolling alleys of this magnificent town. The towers were said to be a sign of wealth back then. Only a couple remain but one can only imagine the awe of people witnessing these colossal structures. Definitely a must visit place in Italy!

Very interesting exhibition and the views from the tower are well-worth the climb. It is a bit of a challenge if you are scared of heights like me. The ticket is also valid for the Duomo right next door. Full recommendation.

A medieval open space at the heart of the uniquely beautiful city of San Gimignano. The piazza, like the rest of the place, feels like it's frozen in time. The atmosphere in the morning is peaceful although later on during the day, the place can become busy with visitors. There are several eateries and cafés around the piazza, some of them boasting to have the best gelato in the world.

We came on a Wednesday, Summer day and only went for the pools and sunbathing, not to stay at the hotel. We brought our own towels, shoes and change of clothes. It was perfect for our visit. Multiple pools offered a nice variety to choose from. We have two children, 8 & 10 years old boys and saw multiple other children, but saw plenty of single adults. Since the facility is so large with multiple pools, I felt there were several options for peace and tranquility, sunbathing or family fun. The water temperature was perfect and even offered a refreshing cool shower right outside of the pool. We ate at the cafe and left with iced coffee togo on our trip back to our Air BnB. Front desk was kind and facility was clean! Would recommend!

A wonderful example of religious expression and indulgence. Stories on the walls floors and ceilings with records of cardinals pope's and others. Puts II and III lived in a prosperous time and rewarded each other with a designated library. Wonderful construction and artworks. The floor which is usually covered, was bare for all to see.

Amazing experience! Place is huge , lots of extra stuff like water/ tea and fruit all throughout. Staff are amazingly accommodating and pleasant. Spa coordinator was going above and beyond to resolve our issue of double booking that booking.com can NOT,( have not confirmed the refund ) The view view the infinity pool specially during sunset was marvelous it adds to the fantastic scenery. My young adult kids loved their facials and the many options on where to soak. We as a family collectively wants to go back. Dinner was deliciously crafted my monk fish specially. We am more relaxed and rejuvenated leaving this place so that’s worth my expense.

Even if you don't manage to get the sword out of the stone, you can just rest in peace in the chapel under a very interesting ceiling. Very quiet place. In front of the chapel there is a small shop with local products.

Abbey of San Galgano is truly a special place. We had the chance to photograph a wedding ceremony here, and it was an experience we’ll never forget. The open-roof ruins, the sound of birds, and pigeons flying through the arches added such a unique and almost mystical atmosphere. We also witnessed sunrise at the abbey, and it was absolutely breathtaking—just as magical as the history that surrounds this place. There’s something truly unforgettable about standing in such an ancient, sacred space, feeling the first light of the day pour in. If you visit, make sure to walk up to the chapel nearby to see the legendary sword in the stone—a fascinating piece of history that adds even more mystery to this already magical place. This is way off the beaten path, but the views from atop the tower, which sits on top of the mountain, are amazing.... It's 5 euros per person. The outside looks unkept, but the stairs in the tower are modern and solid.

The most amazing and inspiring place. The park is well kept and the artworks are amazing. You can easily get lost in the details of the tiles as everything is so intricate. There are so many different sculptures to see, including sound works and interactive areas you can go into. There is no bus from capalbio station and we weren’t able to get a taxi so call ahead to book if you plan on taking the train.
