Nature & Wildlife Areas
(Translated by Google) A lovely little beer garden with an incredibly great playground for small children. There's a circular hiking trail through the forest, past red deer, wild boar, and a small lake. The food is simple but handcrafted. The service is friendly, and you can sit and enjoy the sun or shade. We love coming here with our children!

(Translated by Google) We liked it moderately. We would classify drinks from the vending machine for €4 as quite expensive. The food was also expensive for the area from our subjective perspective. We recommend simply packing your own snack for a trip to the forest adventure trail. Toilets cost 50c (Original) Hat uns mässig gefallen. Toiletten kosten 50c

(Translated by Google) A very idyllic little beer garden in the middle of the forest. A nice playground. The food is mediocre, but OK. Friendly staff and good beer from Schwaiger Bräu. The forest adventure trail is fantastic, interesting for all ages.

(Translated by Google) Strategically located directly on the Hohenlindener Sau Schütt. Everything tastes okay, but the prices are, as already mentioned, very expensive. The Kaiserschmarrn is simply too expensive for this portion size, even if it is homemade. We didn't even buy the apple spritzer. Actually a bit of a shame.

(Translated by Google) My wife and I love cycling to the Sauschütt and always look forward to a cool wheat beer and something good to eat! The shaschlick pan and the woolly sausage are especially recommended! The prices are really fair, and I can't help but laugh at some of the negative reviews... Did you really come here? Unfortunately, you can't please everyone, and the expectations of some people are now just head-shaking... We've always been warmly welcomed and had a great time with the hosts and always felt very comfortable! We're already looking forward to the next time!

(Translated by Google) A beautiful oasis in the countryside. Perfect for hot days. A shady forest trail and a nice playground. A plus for social interaction: you have to talk because there's no cell phone reception. Despite the holiday, the number of visitors was moderate. Points deducted for the loudspeaker used to announce ready meals. This could be solved differently. Trotz Feiertag moderat Besucher. (Translated by Google) This landlady is soooo unfriendly. We called from the US and wanted to know if our old friend from the B12 rest stop was still alive because we were currently in Austria. But this landlady insulted us, asking what we wanted. And it would be a disgrace to want to know something from the late old Lorenz Gantner...we also know his son, Manfred Gantner, but she just insulted us and said that SHE was preventing THE BOSS from doing her job. So remember, this Waldschänke is off-limits to us from now on. The Deutsches Museum is an absolute must-visit in Munich! 🚀 A huge variety of fascinating exhibits, from historic machines to an incredible aviation collection. Many interactive displays you can actually touch and try, which makes it fun for both kids and adults. Inspiring, educational, and exciting — you can easily spend the whole day here without getting bored. Highly recommended! 👏
Serdjo P — Google review
There was a lot of exhibits to see and it was nice to have listening stations throughout For English as well. There were some hands on experiences, I was hoping for some more and looking for something a bit more interactive. There was a very wide variety of things to see throughout a journey through history. Overall a nice experience.
Kristen A — Google review
It's a vast general museum, encompassing everything not covered in the art and antique museums. Currently half of it is under renovation, but the open part is big enough to keep you busy for a long time. I focused mainly on the air and space aspect, nice collection of vintage and more modern planes, some of the very first rockets including a V2, and a very nice floor on spaceships. I also enjoyed the section on coding. I checked out photography, printing and musical instruments before my time ran out. It was a solid 3 hours. Overall it is good, not necessarily a must-see if you are first time visitor to Munich pressed on time.
Csaba C — Google review
A wonderful place to visit with children. The museum offers a great experience, and the restaurant–café on the roof is definitely worth a stop. The river view at sunset is stunning — the sunlight shimmering on the water creates a beautiful scene. Don’t forget to check out the gift shop on your way out for some nice souvenirs.
Ertugrul Y — Google review
The Deutsches Museum in Munich is an absolute gem for science and technology enthusiasts, offering an unparalleled hands-on learning experience. With its vast collection spanning aviation, engineering, physics, and even music instruments, the museum brilliantly bridges education and entertainment. The interactive exhibits—like the giant pendulum, working machinery demonstrations, and flight simulators—make complex concepts accessible and fun for visitors of all ages. The detailed historical displays, including early automobiles and replicas of famous scientific experiments, provide fascinating insights into humanity's technological progress. While the sheer size of the museum can be overwhelming, its well-organized sections and engaging presentations ensure an enriching visit. Whether you're a curious traveler or a dedicated science buff, the Deutsches Museum delivers both knowledge and inspiration in a truly immersive way.
Oscar L — Google review
Wow what an amazing place! There was so much you could go everyday for weeks or more to see it all and drink in all the information accessible to you. We had the city pass so access was quick. Thank you from Canada. 🇨🇦
Mary-Lynne S — Google review
They had everything there. From engines to aircrafts, nuclear physics to spacecrafts, electronics, medicinal technologies, old and new cameras, receent semiconductor technologies, bridges, pendulums, fighter jets, agriculture and husbandry & whatever your cup of tea is. It is a great museum with literally any type of science in it. It is definitely a must go and you would regret it if you didn't.
Utkan P — Google review
Deutsches Museum is not just an exhibit hall: it is a journey through how human curiosity, experimentation, and engineering have shaped the world. If you love science or tech—or want to challenge yourself to understand how many things work (from steam engines to quantum bits), this museum will reward you. Even if you’re only casually interested, the famous pieces (Z3, mining, astronomy, transport, etc.) are enough to make a visit memorable. Highly recommend it, and plan your time well. Bonus: Every Monday few free tickets are also offered. Don't forget to see the beautiful skyline of city with Isar river.

When I went out from underground it was just.. breathtaking. Place is pretty and alive. There's a lot of people, restaurants, pubs and coffee shops. Marienplatz is just a heart of Munich. I highly recommend visiting this place!
Aizarg — Google review
A Must-See Spot in Munich! Marienplatz is such a lively and beautiful place — truly the heart of Munich! We loved walking through the square, surrounded by amazing old buildings, shops, and cafés. The highlight was definitely the Glockenspiel at the New Town Hall — the music, the moving figures, and the whole crowd watching together make it feel so special. It’s the perfect spot to sit back, people-watch, and take in the atmosphere. Everything in Munich seems to connect here — the energy, the history, and the charm of the city all in one place. If you’re visiting Munich, don’t miss Marienplatz, especially around noon when the Glockenspiel comes to life, arrive 15 minutes early to find the best spot. It’s such a fun and unforgettable experience!
Kathy O — Google review
My favorite place to stroll around, watch people, and just enjoy the city vibe. You can walk, shop, eat, and simply get lost in the charm of Munich. There’s something about this place — the mix of old buildings, lively atmosphere, and cozy corners — that makes me always end up staying longer than planned. If you’re in Munich, just come here with no plan. Let the city take you wherever it wants to. ✨
Ivy P — Google review
The city center of Munich is an absolutely stunning and lively area centered around the famed Marienplatz. Dominated by the magnificent Neues Rathaus (New Town Hall), a Neo-Gothic architectural gem, the square's highlight is the famous Glockenspiel, which draws crowds daily to watch its mechanical figures perform. The area is a fantastic blend of history and modern life, with the towering Frauenkirche (Cathedral) just a short walk away, alongside the bustling Viktualienmarkt and the start of the main pedestrian shopping zones (like Kaufingerstraße). Whether you're sightseeing at the Residenz, shopping for luxury goods, or simply soaking up the authentic Bavarian atmosphere at a nearby Wirtshaus, the city center serves as the perfect, walkable hub for exploring all that Munich has to offer.

Spent five hours in this amazing museum. Saw the royal palace, Treasury and Theatre. You get immersed in the atmosphere and history of Bavarian royalty. The best museums leave you wanting to learn much more about the characters and the ages mentioned. No trip to Germany can be complete without a visit to the Residenz.

Online ticketing is very convenient. Large bags need to be stored before entry. With your ticket, you can get a free audio guide, which makes it especially interesting to listen to explanations in your own language. The narration is very detailed, covering the historical stories of the time. I highly recommend visiting if you’re interested in history, culture, or artifacts. If you listen to every section of the audio guide, you could easily spend half a day there. The entire palace is huge, so make sure to allow plenty of time for a relaxed visit.
Elsie L — Google review
Beautiful royal palace filled with history and art. The halls and decorations are stunning, especially the Antiquarium and Treasury. Well organized; worth spending 1–2 hours. Great location near Marienplatz; perfect for history lovers. The level of detail in the craftsmanship is unbelievable. Every room, wall, and ceiling shows royal elegance and history. The Antiquarium is breathtaking; truly one of Munich’s must-see landmarks.
Osman G — Google review
Good place to visit on a Sunday since all the shops are closed. You can buy your ticket at the counter. The Residenz is huge and take more than 2 hours to complete. They provide free audio guides and many seats along the tour. You can finish the Treasury in an hour and the Theatre in 5min.
John T — Google review
The online ticketing system is super convenient. Keep in mind that large bags need to be stored before you enter. With your ticket, you get access to a free audio guide, which adds a lot of value, especially since you can listen to detailed explanations in your preferred language. The narration is thorough and offers deep insights into the historical context of the artifacts. If you’re into history, culture, or antiques, I highly recommend a visit. If you take the time to listen to all the sections of the audio guide, you could easily spend several hours there. The palace is vast, so be sure to allocate enough time for a relaxed and thorough visit.
George S — Google review
Bought tickets online ahead of time which proved helpful! There is an audio guide that they provide but there are SO MANY rooms and the audio guide talks for so long—we eventually abandoned. That said, the Residence is MASSIVE and so so many of the rooms are available for viewing. Incredibly lavish and opulent. We really enjoyed! Side note, they are very serious about not letting people in after an hour before closing. We saw a lot of people turned away and lectured as we were leaving! Plan accordingly!
Olivia H — Google review
Only visit the museum itself. It already takes 2 hours. The ticket price is 10 Euro. They offer single ticket and combined tickets which you can visit the treasury and theatre. The theatre only opens from 2-6pm. The museum is very spacious and have lots of exhibitions.

Overall, BMW Welt is an impressive blend of art, engineering, and brand culture—a must-see destination for BMW fans and automotive lovers alike.

BMW Welt, Munich is an absolute must-visit, whether you’re a die-hard car enthusiast or just someone who appreciates beautiful architecture, technology, and design. As a car fan, stepping into BMW Welt feels like entering automotive heaven. The moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by stunning displays of BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce models, each showcased under sleek lighting that makes them look even more spectacular. You can sit inside the cars, explore the interiors, feel the craftsmanship, and even hop onto your favourite BMW motorcycles for a quick photo or to experience the seating comfort. There are often interactive screens and cutaway models that show how the engines and technology work, making it both exciting and educational. The building itself is an experience, an architectural masterpiece with wide open spaces, glass walls, and flowing metal structures that give it a futuristic feel. The whole place is designed with precision and luxury, perfectly reflecting BMW’s brand. Even if you’re not into cars, you’ll find yourself admiring how beautiful and thoughtfully designed everything is. For those who appreciate experiences more than engines, there’s plenty to enjoy too. The BMW Café and restaurant offer great food and desserts with a view of the stunning showroom floor. You can also visit the BMW Museum just across the street, which takes you through the brand’s rich history, from vintage classics to the latest electric innovations. There’s also a gift shop with high-quality BMW merchandise, perfect for souvenirs or gifts. Whether you spend 30 minutes or 3 hours, BMW Welt leaves an impression. It’s not just about cars, it’s about design, innovation, and German engineering at its finest. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Munich. Even if you’re not a car lover, you’ll walk out with a new appreciation for the art of automobiles. 🚗✨

Easy to get to with affordable on-site parking underneath. Very cool, modern building design inside and out. A good selection of cars to look at as well, but no replacement for the proper BMW museum. But of course you should plan to spend some time here anyways as you have to walk through to get to the full museum anyways. I did not get any food, but there were several restaurants inside which all looked good. Of course the scenery inside is great too!

This is a free museum/interactive showroom Went here for a quick visit. We enjoyed because there is option to get in vehicles, touch fully functional vehicle. Many learning opportunities too in terms of engineering and some history and insight on the direction of BMW. You'd have to be an automotive enthusiast or a big fan of BMW to really appreciate how great this place is

BMW Welt: You can only examine the autos you regularly see on the street!! The others speazial autos are locked. Only you can look! All the IX and M5 are too locked ! The attendants won't open them when you auch ask. Appointments are apparently required. !! In short, you can only view the vehicles from the outside. The attendants don't even introduce them. If I looked very rich and cool, maybe I would have a chance. :)) It's a complete disappointment. You could inspect many more BMWs if you went to a standard BMW dealership.! or from the photos I added :)) it's the same anyway. :))

amazing that all of this is available to see for free! although definitely add the museum onto your trip as well, even if it costs extra! the cars are absolutely stunning, and you're even able to sit in some of them! the cafe was expensive, but my pistachio croissant was a delicious breakfast.

Nymphenburg Palace is a grand 200-hectare estate showcasing stunning rococo interiors, an impressive coach display, and symmetrical baroque gardens. The palace offers a peek into Bavaria's royal history with its opulent halls and the renowned Gallery of Beauties. It appeals to history buffs, art enthusiasts, and admirers of grand architecture. Visitors can explore the meticulously manicured gardens and discover charming pavilions like the enchanting rococo follies.
The palace is truly amazing, stunning architecture and very elegant, this is evident when you approach along the water. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to enter the palace and just walked around the garden instead, absolutely stunning and very well maintained. There was no fee to enter the garden and it was very peaceful and a good place to relax and unwind and go for a pleasant stroll. You could easily spend a few hours here. Highly recommend this place for a visit when in Munich.

Here is a very impressive place, whether it's the beautiful Baroque architecture or the grand hall with its amazing ceiling frescoes. Although some of the interior decor might seem simple, the Marstallmuseum, which displays luxurious and magnificent carriages and sledges, especially those of King Ludwig II, is an unmissable highlight. Moreover, the area in front of the palace features a wide canal and pond, as well as a large park, which is perfect for strolling, taking photos, enjoying nature, and soaking up the very fresh and pleasant air.
Tongz N — Google review
Nicely maintained. The bus and tram stop are a bit away, 10 mins walk. Cycles are not allowed inside. Water is not not clean, lots of ducks and can spot different birds and deer sometimes. Good to visit in snow, Autumn and summer

Beautiful palace and garden / park. The park / garden is immense and would be a fantastic place to walk regularly. Taking the S Bahn from city center and entering through the park at the very southern tip on foot is what I recommend. You can also take a bus near the metro stop and get really close without a vehicle.

A splendid royal palace complex in the western suburbs of the city. Initially built as a summer residence for the rulers of Bavaria, the palace is open year-round to visitors for self-guided tours. There are actually 5 different buildings on the palace grounds that are open to the public: the main palace itself, the Marstallmuseum, and 3 smaller outbuildings. You can purchase a combination ticket for all 5 buildings at one price, or if you're short on time you can buy a ticket just for the palace itself. I feel you should allow at least 3 hours if you want to see everything. When I was there, the main palace required timed-entry tickets, but the other buildings did not. The main palace is stunning, with ornate sitting rooms, exquisitely decorated bedrooms, and an elegant great hall. Tours are self-guided, but there are detailed signs in each room (in both German and English). I loved being able to walk around at my own pace. An audio tour was available, but I felt the signs went into so much detail that I didn't need the audio guide. I highly recommend visiting the Marstallmuseum while you're here. It contains many interesting objects used by the royal family, including magnificent stagecoaches and an impressive porcelain collection. The palace grounds also feature Schlosspark Nymphenburg, a huge public park with manicured flowerbeds, green meadows, and wooded areas. You could easily spend an entire day exploring all that Nymphenburg has to offer! This was one of my favorite activities in Munich. If you interested in Bavarian history and culture, this is a must-do!

This is my first time here, and I'm very impressed with the structure and the property itself. It has a large, well-planned garden. When it's not crowded, it's a very relaxing and peaceful place. With a small grove, pools, and walking paths, it promises a beautiful Munich experience worth your time.
Hamdi K — Google review
Stunning palace and gardens. Beautiful to visit in the autumn. Entry into the gardens is free. €10 for entry into the palace which is quite small and not quite worth it for €10. Other castles on property closed during colder months.
Kate F — Google review
The castle looks really cool! I am glad that many bird types (geese for example) have a huge living space here thanks to the castle. The grass did not look very well maintained because you could see a lot of holes in the grass, which is because of the animals of course but yeah I just thought it looked a bit off. We had a very nice visit though!

Erdinger Brewery - Brewery Tours

Brewery
Food & Drink
Erdinger Brewery, located in Erding, Germany, is renowned for its wheat beers and holds the title of the largest wheat beer brewery globally. Established in 1886 by Johann Kienle, it offers a 3-hour tour featuring tastings and Bavarian snacks. Visitors praise the informative English-speaking guides and the opportunity to sample various beers. The brewery's attention to detail and quality throughout the brewing process is also highlighted. Additionally, affordable student rates are available for tours.
This was an amazing experience! Love Erdinger so it was so good to finally come and visit it at source. The tour was in German but nevertheless we had a great experience. After the tour we were treated to a traditional meal of sausage, cheese and pretzels with a few different choices of Erdinger to wash it all down! If your an Erdinger enthusiast then I would recommend this please 100%

Christopher C — Google review
We went for a brewery tour and tasting on a Wednesday 15/10/2025 for the English speaking tour. I'll start by saying how lovely all the staff were and how enthusiastic they were about the brewery! It was really interesting to learn how Erdinger is made and all the different beers they brew. The tasting was a highlight with an option of Obatzda or Weisswurst and Pretzel to pair with the beers. I managed to sample at least three of the beers and they were all as delicious as the next. The only downside to my experience was the slightly hard to reach location of the brewery. We were coming from the Therme Erding and there was no easy route. Of course this is not the brewery's fault so it's still a 5 star review! Thank you Erdinger Brewery for such an amazing tour!

Eva was an excellent guide who was very knowledgeable about the brewing process. Make sure you tip them at the end- they work so hard and do a great job!

Booked a tour for a Saturday at 14. Their shop with merch closes at 13. How is that possible? The signage for meeting points etc. are bad and the ticket confirmation mail is only in German. Bad tourist experience. I actually also signed up for their free membership, where you get send a physical €5 voicher sent to your foreign home add, that only works in the shop. The voucher doesn't work online and, naturally, not in a closed shop.

HIGHLY recommend this tour. We came to Erding for our wedding and a bunch of our guests joined us for this tour. It was a great group activity. This was a highlight of our week! I have been to other breweries and have done other tours around the world but this was hands down my favourite one! The hospitality was wonderful. We started off with a beer and ended with multiple beers. (Full glasses, not just shot glasses). All the beer options were so good! We also received food; sausages and pretzels with the most amazing mustard. We didn't even need to go out for dinner after. The tour was very informative, with lots of walking and stairs which is good for me who likes to be active on trips. I would definitely come back! This is a MUST DO if you like beer and are in Erding. We are forever a Erdinger family now.

Allianz Arena, home to Bayern Munich, is a renowned football stadium and one of the most impressive athletic venues globally. Designed by Herzog & de Meuron, its unique architecture features 2,784 ETFE plastic panels that give it a distinctive appearance resembling an inflatable cushion with translucent air pockets. What sets it apart is its luminous exterior that changes color based on the team playing: red for Bayern, blue for TSV 1860, and white for Germany.
An iconic stadium and a must-see for football fans! ⚽ The design is incredible especially when it’s lit up at night. The area is clean and well-organized, with easy access by metro. Even if there’s no match, the tour and museum are definitely worth it.
Bud S — Google review
The FC Bayern stadium (Allianz Arena) has a very high capacity. The exterior design is modern and can change color at night. It houses both a Museum and an FC Bayern Store. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to join the Arena Tour, which is a real shame. The downside of this stadium is that there are very few nice photo spots outside, apart from taking pictures with the stadium itself, and if you come by U-Bahn, it's a very long and exhausting walk.
Tongz N — Google review
Wonderful arena and an amazing experience. My dad received a VIP tour and museum tickets for his 59th birthday. We were guided around the stadium and even taken to exclusive areas like the locker room and the tunnel where the players walk out before the match. The museum has absolutely everything, and the layout is beautifully done. I was also pleasantly surprised that the stadium shop is not overpriced at all. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience. Even though I’m not a football fan myself, we went because of my father, and I actually felt sad to leave because I enjoyed it so much. Go Bayern München! 🫶🏻❤️⚽️

Bayern Munich's stadium is located 12 minutes from the city center by metro. The fans are the heart of the club, arriving early and enjoying the experience of a cold beer. The stadium's sound system is very high quality. I had a lot of fun watching and participating in the victory over FC Freiburg. Unsere FC Bayern Munchen gewinn mit 6 : 2, stadion was almost full 75 000 person was realy enjoyed this football atmosphere. Mia San Mia. 🥳🍀⚽🙏🇩🇪🏆

The group tour is great. To get to see all the history behind such a big club was a great experience. Hopefully I’ll be able to visit again whit the hopes of seeing a match. Overall it was cool and the best part is that I didn’t have to sell kidney to take the tour, it was really affordable. Definitely recommend checking it out.

We booked the English speaking tour with Franz, and he was very informative and engaging. There was plenty of Oporto take photos, and you could visit the change rooms, sit in the stands and on the substitutes bench. Afterwards we visited the museum which was very interactive. You could take a photo of yourself and have it appear on a scrolling wall of photos, and there was also the opportunity to take a photo with your favourite players. There are things for kids to do, such as building their own trophy with blocks, as well as a stadium with Lego. There is a small futsal pitch for them to play on, as well as climbing equipment. It’s definitely worth the visit for the whole family.
Ros B — Google review
The wonderful place to visit. I highly recommend to join the guide tour because you can experience a very special introduction in the court. The one thing is, you can understand the space of stadium and also you can learn the history of the stadium.

Great stadium, truly impressive from the moment you walk in. The shop is huge, well-stocked, and full of cool merch for every type of fan. The museum is surprisingly rich with history, displaying iconic moments, trophies, and even a small cinema where you can sit and enjoy a short film about the club’s journey. The stadium tour itself is well-organized, informative, and gives you access to some amazing angles you don’t normally get to see. Staff throughout the entire experience were warm, helpful, and very professional. Highly recommended if you’re a football fan or simply appreciate great sporting culture and storytelling.

Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site

Space of remembrance
Sights & Landmarks
The Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site is a significant historical location near Munich, just an hour away by train. It offers a sobering glimpse into the atrocities of World War II and the Nazi regime. The site features reconstructed cell blocks, photographs, and documents that provide insight into the camp's history. Visitors can join guided tours to learn about the dark chapter in history and pay their respects to the victims.
A must visit for all who wants to know more about the War and a reminder to us living about what the prisoners went through so that we don't allow history like this to repeat itself. The only concentration camp to be functional during the entire 12 years reign of the Nazi party from 1933 to 1945. Also the first concentration camp to be built and was the training and reeducation place of the SS (Nazi army) for all other concentration camps in Europe.
Ronit D — Google review
It feels more like an exhibition than a museum—quite disappointing, to be honest. It should convey the horror of what took place there, but it doesn't. The fact that there are regular houses just behind the fence, where people live, blew my mind. What goes through people's heads to make it okay for them to have a view of a death camp from their window?
Waldemar M — Google review
Was easy to get here from the Central Station Hbf in Munich. Take the S2 train to Bahnhof, Dachau, then take a transfer to 726 bus. Will take you there and back. The visitation center has your free toilette, Cafe with food, drinks, and warm coffee and hot chocolate which was well needed for this cold day. The people at the visitor center was nice and spoke English well. Rental an audio tour guide that was useful, but honestly I enjoyed reading all the materials and posters there. The camp was amazing, and everyone was respectful there. Everyone was speaking low for respect, similar to 911 Memorial Museum in NY.

We went with a guided tour with Radius Tours. From Munich, we traveled by train and bus to get to the memorial site. We were with 'German Mark' ...not to be confused with the other Mark 😉 and he provided a lot of insight to the history and development of this memorial site. We came to Munich for Oktoberfest and spent the following morning here. It was sobering, though provoking, impactful, and necessary. You could easily spend the majority of the day here. They do provide self guided audio tours. Someone that we met at our hotel did the audio tour and enjoyed the content. You get a lot of content in the various areas and it's great to see that they are utilizing the space to remember what happened there. It was a very powerful experience.
Emily A — Google review
Absolutely incredibly powerful place to visit. It’s very well presented and managed - combination of extensive museum exhibits with text (multiple languages), artifacts, real life stories, videos, and pictures. Be sure to read as much as possible as you tour. There are memorials and public art throughout the site that represent many different backgrounds of the victims impacted. Careful reconstruction has been done on a few buildings, some original buildings remain, and much of the open ground is there from where original buildings once stood. We spent nearly 4.5 hours there and could have easily spent longer as learned lots. Audio guides in different languages are available.
Dave D — Google review
Worth going and worth checking it out for lots of reasons. It has a canteen for lunch, a book shop, a Carpark. You can follow guided tour by the centre, just head to the reception to join the tour (think is 3 euro per person) when you get there, this can’t be booked online. There are one at 11am and one at 1pm I think (in English). There are also some in German. You can walk into a small gas chamber used for testing poison on people, and see the crematorium used to burn the bodies. Scary but real. All in front of your eyes. And many more scary details. A lesson not to be missed and always be remembered. The visit is free if you don’t follow the tour. You can do the visit using audio guide too.
K Y — Google review
There are no words to describe the emotions you get from visiting this site! It's definitely a must while in Munich. We went as part of a tour, which I highly recommend as you learn so much from the guide! This was a lifetime experience for sure!
Bethzaida C — Google review
We had a short trip to the memorial site. It is impressive although not many of the original elements are left. The space and the prison part gives you that feeling of hopelessness. It is humbling and creates awareness on the horrors man can inflict on others and how much can one indure. We should be grateful that we don't know any of it.

A detailed museum focusing on the history of hops in the local region and Germany. 6€ for adults and 1€ for audio guide. You can learn about the hops growth, harvest, pest prevention, packing and storage of hops and also how its is used medicinally and for beer. You can also view equipment and tools used in these processes. (All written info is in German, audio guide has some English). At the gift shop you can purchase a range of hops related products from soap to liquor. Plenty of seating is arranged around the exhibition for a comfortable experience.

It was ok. Nothing in English, so if you don't speak a more local language, you have to get an audio guide. The receptionist wasn't overly friendly.

Interesting museum, but very small. Would be better to have less pictures and more real exhibits. Also would be nice to have more interactive.
Andrey Z — Google review
Nice static displays about hop agriculture and the importance to beer making and the German economy, but for some reason they leave out the most obvious things that you would expect at a place like this: You can't buy hops (harvested or plant form) there is no beer tasting (although you can buy bottles), there is no mention of the growing culinary interest in hops, and only a brief mention of the craft brewing industry. Overall, a big let down.

An unadorned castle situated in a remote location, that’s to say, it seems more likely a regular resident house. Because of fame of Sisi that attracts visitors come over here constantly, but some could be end up disappointedly. But that’s not the case for us, hiking is the real issue here. There’re some interesting hiking routes between Unterwittelsbach and Oberwittelsbach, this is my alternative tip for other people who might looking for different recreation.

A peaceful place for walking. It is not really a very beautiful palace. But it is surrounded by a lake and a lot of old trees. Walking along the path besides the trees you can go to the forest. That is a good choice for a family walk in weekend.

First of hopefully many pictures of German castles (and occasional other stuff). Pictured here is Wasserschloss Unterwittelsbach, also known as Sisi Schloss. Not nearly as spectacular as Neuschwanstein it is still worth a visit if you are in Bavaria. Placed right next to city of Aichach (also close to Augsburg and Munich), this could be the perfect detour for a few hours. With entry price of just 4€ for adults it is a bargain, and after you finish looking inside (which will not take too long), there is a nice trail around the moat surrounding the castle. You can also sit on numerous benches and enjoy clean air and bird song :)

This playful, soaring observation tower offers sweeping views of the town & surrounding countryside.
Awesome beer and good food in the biergarten. The tour was good as well. Only in German but they give you an English handout to read so you can follow along and understand what is being said. Definitely recommend coming here!

Another magnificent architecture by Hundertwasser. They have a guided tour of this brewery which costs you 20 EUR. The tour is in German but at the counter they give you a booklet in English which explains everything what tour guide says in German. Brewery is beautifully constructed and maintained. Weekdays are the best days to see a fully functional brewery. They have enough parking space. You can get a Beer/Soft drink + one pretzel for free when you book a guided tour.
Bharath K — Google review
It was a good tour. A lot of information and they have pamphlets in English if you don't understand German. The architecture was amazing.
Jody R — Google review
I am not a beer enthusiast but this place was very interesting and the architecture was AMAZING. There is meaning in every detail of the structure. We parked in the lot next to the souvenir shop which is where you buy tickets to enter. We were a family of four and that cost 36 euro for the tour and a beer/soft drink and pretzels at the end. The tour is in German but they offer an English script which is very helpful and informative. I don’t drink beer but wanted the full experience so I tried the Suße Liebe and it was surprisingly good. It was sweet with a hint of citrus and did not taste like beer at all. I definitely recommend going. We had fun!

A very nice Brauerei at heart of Abensberg. The Brauerei houses the Hundertwasser Turm and it is a must visit location. We were unable to climb up the tower as it was closed for public.

Very cool place to stop for a few minutes and admire Hundertwasser’s work. Unfortunately the museum and gift shop were closed when I went, but I’m still glad I stopped for a look.
Tom B — Google review
Kuchlbauer Tower is amazing. However, if you go to the tower ensure you take the tour of the Kuchlbauer brewery. The backstory is amazing and so is the art. For two adults to do the brewery and tower tour it was €25. However, at the end of the tour you get a free beer and pretzel. The tour and tower both have elevators that are wheelchair accessible and there is a parking lot across the street from the tower.
Sergeants S — Google review
International embarrassment. Beer garden is good but avoid the museum at all costs! There’s not much to see in the tower and prices are unreasonable. You can’t go up the tower freely and have to wait two hours to join a German speaking “tour”. Staff are impatient, unprofessional and downright rude. Honestly such an embarrassment to the local community.

Liberation Hall

Mentioned on

Cultural landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Liberation Hall, also known as Befreiungshalle, is a grand monument situated on Michelsberg hill. It was commissioned by King Ludwig to honor the victories in battles against the French during the Wars of Liberation from 1813 to 1815. Constructed with local limestone, this monumental temple features allegories of Germanic tribes.
On our winter road trip to Berlin, we made a delightful stop in Kelheim! Despite the chilly December day and gentle snowfall, the exterior of the Liberation Hall took our breath away. Its impressive size and beautifully sculptured walls were truly captivating. We have very peaceful moments while admiring the structure. A perfect little gem to explore on the way! ❄️🏛️❤️

This building is inside really huge! Really nice view outside and stunning inside! If you have chance, visit this place! Near parking is great and is ready for any size of car. Nice clean toilets. Nice view from the bistro.
Jarda H — Google review
It's lovely inside, but mainly it is in German. So I could only use Google translate and also read up online to understand it. The walk up to the top of the dome is a very narrow stairs but the view up in the dome is superb. Giving a 4 stars, cos I couldn't understand German.
MJ L — Google review
This place is impressive. It’s a gigantic hall where you feel like a tiny person. The main hall was spectacular and huge. I’ve never seen something this big before. It was a bit scary to feel so little. You can also climb at the top to get a view over the horizons. The climb isn’t easy and the stairs are narrow but it is worth it for the view. The park around the monument is also pleasant to have a walk. It’s quiet and peaceful.
Melanie M — Google review
Wonderful architecture and views from the top. Restaurant next to the ticket office. It wasn't crowded and if you take your own food/drinks you can have a picnic and enjoy the sun.
Daisy A — Google review
A great place to visit, even though it doesn’t feature any special exhibitions or temporary displays. The surrounding area is very attractive. However, we were disappointed to find that both of the shortest walking routes to the Danube River were closed, without any clear reason.
Daniel B — Google review
Really cool monument. Typical of mid 19th century early German nationalism. Great views of the Danube.
Patrick F — Google review
This place can be a lot of work to get to if you park at the bottom however it felt great making it all the way to the top! Lucky for me the rain held off and was a good hike. Inside the liberation hall which you have to pay to enter just go to the visitor center. But it has some gorgeous views from the top! Definitely a must! Lots of history marked in here.

Shopping
Located in the beautiful city of Ingolstadt on the Danube, Ingolstadt Village is an outlet center offering a wide range of shopping opportunities. As the second largest city in Upper Bavaria after Munich, Ingolstadt has much to offer visitors and residents alike. In addition to its cultural and historical highlights, this village provides a great opportunity for people to shop affordably, especially in the fashion sector.
Ingolstadt outlet is 1 hour away from Munich. Is it worth it to visit, I guess, yes. We went there and purchased a lot of staff but it's not that cheap. However, it is a beautiful place with plenty of parking. For non German people such as me, there is a tax free desks at the entrance of the outlet. Once you are done with shopping, you can visit and get your tax back. They will return in ur card only, not cash, and you will be required to get the letter stamped in the airport as well, then put it in the P.O. box in the airport.
Hamad B — Google review
Although it is not such a big outlet, it is nice looking and well organised. It is not overcrowded and there is plenty of parking spaces that were free of charge. It is very clean and tidy. Unfortunately, there is a limited selection in stores, but overall, it is worth visiting.
Milos L — Google review
A small cool open-air outlet, especially if you're into designer brands at a discount. It's got a relaxed vibe, and you can find some decent deals, though some styles might be a bit older. Plus, it's easy to get to from Munich if you fancy a shopping day trip.
Amy — Google review
Very nice place to shop and spend the afternoon. Higher end brands with not many options other than hat. Nike outlet was nice but a bit small. Great place to spend an afternoon though
Kelly P — Google review
This outlet is one of la village groups around the world like la village at Paris and London and Barcelona and many other cities., the collection very good , if you like shopping you can spend a day there ., Boss have nice collection and most of the brands., it’s 1 hour from Munich city center.,, Sunday is off Munich., there is a bus for the village take you from the city center few meters from Marinplatza station you can contact the village for make reservation for the bus it take you at 9:30 am and return back from the village at 15:30 ., be sure to go 10 mints before the time ., you will enjoy the time there

Good deals. Generally cheaper than Munich stores. Best for shoes and watches. Bus frequency is limited from Ingolstadt Nord/ main station

Not a very huge outlet mall, but the brands are pretty sufficient.. In my opinion, Hong Kong outlet is cheaper 😂😂

Asamkirche Maria de Victoria

Mentioned on
11 lists
Catholic church
Sights & Landmarks
Asamkirche Maria de Victoria is a remarkable church in Ingolstadt, designed by the celebrated Late Baroque architects, the Asam brothers. Despite its unassuming exterior, the interior of this 1730s church is a stunning example of Rococo design. Lavishly adorned with carved stucco, marquetry woodwork, and gilding, it features a 490-square-meter ceiling painting depicting the Incarnation of the Lord.
This church it's quite beautiful... From the outside it seems a little simple but on the inside its wonderful... Though a bit small. Still, I really like the many paintings on the wall and the big one on the ceiling... They also have some interesting relics and other religious stuff. The entrance cost about 3€ but I think it's worth it just for the beauty of its interior.
Juan H — Google review
You would never guess from the outside that such beauty is inside! Cost 4euro to enter. Completely worth it.
Kathy J — Google review
The Church of St Mary of Victory is a Rococo masterpiece built by the Asam Brothers in 1736. I have been on a quest to see all of the Asam Brothers' churches, which are mostly in Bavaria. The interior is lavishly adorned with carved stucco, marquetry woodwork, and gilding. The use of light colors and shapes inspired by nature are typical of the Rococo style. The ceiling has the largest flat ceiling fresco in the world, and depicts Mary as Queen of Heaven and mediator of divine grace. Each corner portrays one of the four continents paying homage to Mary. The Lepanto monstrance was created by Augsburg goldsmith Johann Zeckl in 1708 to commemorate the victory of the Christians over the Turks in the naval battle of Lepanto. A sinking Turkish ship, the fleeing Sultan, and drowning harem ladies are depicted in intricate detail. A monstrance is a vessel to display the consecrated host. The word 'monstrance' comes from the Latin 'monstrare', which is also the root for the word 'demonstrate'.
Kent W — Google review
Needless to say that the touch of the Asams brothers leave you surprised every time you see their works. the entrance is 3.5€ cash. but its worth more the exterior os very simple but once i stepped foot inside, the 490 m2 painting on the ceiling with its meaning is more than impressive, of course the main aisle is something from another level. a vey astoniching church to the Holy Maru lady of Victory. A Baroque church from the 1700's.
David A — Google review
This place was amazing in person. Pictures don't do it justice.. so much to see.. So much detail.
Rap R — Google review
There is an Entry fee of 3 eur,but its worth to visit. The interior architecture is so mind blowing. The history note is available in English also,so that you get a clear picture of each sculpture, dont visit ingolstadt to see ONLY this.
Asha V — Google review
Beautiful church, really worth to pay and see this paintings, how also changes their perception, depending on from which side of the church you observe them: I'm impressed!
Marta K — Google review
A one of the kind church, starting with the name, inspired not by a patron saint and closing with the stuccos. It worth a visit despite the lack of heating in winter and the limited visit time. The marquetry is splendid and I won't say a word about the unique ceiling and stuccos. Enjoy, 3 euros well spent!

Audi Forum Ingolstadt is a multifaceted complex that includes an Audi museum showcasing cars and motorcycles, as well as restaurants and an arthouse cinema. The city of Ingolstadt holds literary significance as the birthplace of Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein, making it a compelling destination for literature enthusiasts. Additionally, the forum's restaurants offer stylish settings and high-quality culinary delights, having received recognition for their excellence in service and ambiance.
Awesome place, some truly iconic vehicles steeped in history. If only some of these cars could tell stories. Only €5 entry fee which is more than good value for money.
Oliver Y — Google review
Very enjoyable visit today. Friendly and welcoming staff. Free parking for museum visitors, have your ticket validated at the museum ticket desk. Only €5 for entry! A lot better value than other German car manufacturer museums. Great exhibits. A special R8 display at the moment. Discount for the restaurant also included. I think the coffee I had in the cafe was the best I’ve tasted in Germany. And a very nice lady running the bar and cafe. Also you can observe customers collecting their new Audi cars, here at the factory.

We visited the Audi Museum today and it was outstanding! First, the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Very helpful as well. The museum spans 3 floors. It covers the entire history of Audi with amazing cars that date back to the beginning. The cars on display are unreal. They also have motorcycles and some military vehicles. They also have a gift shop in the museum and another gift shop in one of the show rooms. We took the train from Munich and a short bus ride to the museum. Bus stop is right in front of the museum. Cost to enter is €5 per person which is an amazing price for this museum. We had a great time and loved our visit. Highly recommend!
Michael M — Google review
Very welcoming staff. Their museum is not huge but has all what a fan can require. I was extremely lucky and they got to see and hear one of the Auto Union V16 from the 50s outside as they started up. What a thrill!!!! 100% recommended

A Must-Visit for Car Enthusiasts: Audi Forum Experience! The Audi Forum was a truly nice experience and a definite highlight for any car enthusiast! I absolutely loved the design of the building – it's an architectural marvel in itself. The showrooms were fantastic, showcasing an incredible range of cars that were a joy to explore. Just seeing all those vehicles up close was captivating. I highly recommend visiting! My only regret is not being able to do the factory tour, as it seems you need to buy tickets well in advance, perhaps even weeks ahead, so plan accordingly if that's on your list. Despite missing the factory tour, the overall experience was highly recommended!

Been wanted to visit this place for a very long time. Finally I did it and it really didnt disappoint. The history of the brand and the historical display is amazing. Spent almost the entire day reading all the description. Entry fees of 5 Euros well spent.
KC N — Google review
A very nice museum for autotomotive fans, with dozens of Audi models on display, and quite a bit of historic information and context. It's not as big or impressive as Mercedes or BMW's museums, but still great nontheless, with fewer crowds and also cheaper.
Alex J — Google review
The Audi museum is much quieter than the bmw, mercedes, and Porsche museums that I also visited on this trip. It's slightly more substantial than the Porsche museum and similar to the bmw, except like the Porsche museum they let you get closer to the cars. The people here are much nicer than at the bmw, and for just 5€ entry you also get free parking. Factory tour is 9€ extra. Much better experience than the bmw museum and welt. Almost makes you want to buy another Audi, even though my old A8 gave me nightmares. Also 10% discount at their restaurant, which is well priced unlike some other places.

A very beautiful and comfortable place to isolate yourself a little bit from society. My father spent a week there to meditate and take a break. The monks give you the option of „Ora et labora“; Pray and work. If you decide to spend some time there you can join them on their daily schedule (including 5am prayers and choir practice) and also their manual duties in work and cooking. It’s located in a very Bavarian spot of Germany with great nature - perfect to also bring your bike and focus a bit on your mental and body health. Also the Restaurant altogether offers very high quality food. At first we were a little take aback by the little menu. That first reaction flew past quickly when we realized the little things on the menu were of such high quality and flavor, that we gladly asked for seconds. Definitely worth a stay.

A unique & friendly place. Simple rooms, wholesome breakfast.

(Translated by Google) I have been a guest at the conference center twice for conferences. Arriving here is quite impressive; the courtyard, the hustle and bustle, is impressive. Rooms: I particularly like the mix of modern and old. The guest house is newly built, the rear section even built of thatched roofs. Nevertheless, the old windows and beams from the past have been preserved and incorporated, which has a certain charm. There are double and single beds, all very comfortable. Food: Breakfast and lunch are served buffet-style. In the evening, there are often leftovers from lunch. I missed fresh fruit or vegetables at breakfast. The look of the buffet wasn't very appealing to me. Lunch consists of three courses. There's always a vegetarian option among the selections. Lunch is brought to the table, which takes a lot of time, especially if you only have a short lunch break. Service: The staff varies greatly. Many are friendly, courteous, and helpful, but unfortunately, there are also some who are uncooperative. There have been some uncomprehending, unfriendly, and uncooperative staff. There were some discrepancies in the organization, for example, regarding the choice of rooms for the conference, the procurement of drinks, and also the organization of the rooms. Some of them hadn't been cleaned yet and were still booked, or even not ready by 4 p.m. Unfortunately, this wasn't communicated. Location and surroundings: Nestled in the Altmühl Valley, not far from the Altmühl River, the monastery is located above the valley. I really like the monastery courtyard and the nature. Parking: There is a very large parking lot for overnight guests and day guests. There is also a space for RVs next door. There are also a few parking spaces in front of the monastery shop. Monastery Church: I really liked the very large and beautiful monastery church with many small, interesting highlights. Farm Shop: There is a large farm shop with everything your heart desires. Homegrown, organic products. A small weekly market. And a small arts and crafts shop. The monastery is definitely worth a visit.

Cool luxury car museum. Learned that Maybach made much more than cars. Definitely worth checking out!
Philip S — Google review
Very interesting but the display of the cars was a bit boring, old fashioned. The artefact and the parafernalia displays were very nice. I wanted to pay with an EU debit card and at first they did not accept it. Once they realized I had no other means of payment it was okay. All by all I have learned a lot about the Maybach company.

The museum is great. Anyone interested in old cars and aviation with Zeppelins has come to the right place. Entrance fee of 9.50 euros is just about okay. However, parts of the museum are not heated. Be sure to dress warmly in winter. A room temperature that was 3 or 4 degrees higher wouldn't have been bad. No credit cards accepted, only debit cards. December 2023
O. K — Google review
I guess it is over rated; though there was some nice vintage cars, but the museum is relatively small. I was expecting to see some new cars. There are some interesting facts though, about the bike industry and patents, and also the war tanks industry. The video related to the Hindenburg disaster and the crash of the Zeppelin in the US in 1937, was really touching!

I expected more cars. The documentary about Zeppelin was interesting.

Centuries-old hilltop fort ruins with an excavated moat & chapel, plus guided tours on Sundays.
This is not a pile of rubble marking the ruins of a castle. It is a large complex with multiple rooms, evidence of several levels including a natural ravine/gorge that would serve a similar role like a moat and an extensive outer wall. Considering that it was in full use a thousand years ago it is a fascinating site to explore.
Homer P — Google review
Wolfstein Castle (Burgruine Wolfstein) is a beautiful and peaceful spot that’s perfect for a short hike and a taste of medieval history. Located on a hill above the town of Neumarkt in Bavaria, the castle ruins date back to the 12th century and still have an impressive presence. The walk up to the castle is easy and scenic, taking visitors through forest paths and offering lovely views along the way. Once at the top, the remains of the stone walls and towers give a great sense of what the fortress once was. There's also a viewing platform that offers stunning panoramic views over Neumarkt and the surrounding countryside. It’s free to explore, and while the ruins aren’t large, they have a peaceful charm that makes it a nice place to spend an hour or so. There are also a few benches at the top, perfect for relaxing and soaking in the scenery. Wolfstein Castle is great for anyone who enjoys light hiking, history, and beautiful views. It’s a quiet, less crowded alternative to bigger tourist sites, making it a perfect stop if you’re in the area.
Bobby B — Google review
Took a trek right from the train station as we went there on the weekend and the buses were not operational. It took about an hour to reach the ruins but the journey was worth it. The tower was open, so I could enjoy the breathtaking view. The place takes about 30 min to explore but I would recommend a hike or trek to enjoy the place to its fullest.
Vaibhav P — Google review
It was easy to find parking right outside the little town. It was an easy 5-minute walk to the castle. The only disappointing thing was that there is very little to discover. There is only one plaque that we could find with anything written on it about the castle. And guided tours of the spire are only available on Saturdays. The rest of the castle can easily be explored in under 10 minutes. The best thing about this Castle is the view. You can see the entire valley and distinguish no less than 8 or 9 different towns. It's breathtaking.
W B — Google review
Tours of the watch tower are only available on Sunday from 1pm - 5pm at the moment. But I grew up in the 80's and 90's playing the video game Wolfenstein 3D on a PC so had to come have a look. Really spectacular and fantastic views of the local town.

Extremely poor hygiene. When we found 💩 poop laying around in the baby-pool, they fixed it by fishing the biggest peaces out of the water. In Denmark the pool would have been closed, emptied, cleansed and THEN reopened. The toilets were not in the locker rooms but rather inside the actual pool room, allowing for you to take a dump and then go straight back into the water, hence having everyone swimming in your rectal bacteria. In Denmark you strictly have to shower once more, using soap, before going back into the water. There were other very low-hygiene issues, but those two mentioned were the worst. So, don't go if you are not in the mood for an infection. If you don't care about hygiene, the place is ok.

I am sorry to say this, however as of now I cannot suggest this place to any of my friends. It is clearly an old place and it looks like it’s not kept up as it is supposed to be. - There is algae in all the outside filters and the inside filters do not look really clean either. - The little “cave” has residue on the walls which makes me feel icky. - The seats were made out of really cheap looking plastic and the metal frames of quiet a few of the loungers are rusty. a. s. o. .. There is no reason to make a special Tripp to this location.

Perfect place for relax, just few people even during the weekend. We enjoyed our time there, swimming and cool poolbar
Denisa G — Google review
From the outside the place has great appeal with modern architecture and smooth surfaces, however once inside the age of the building shows. The changing rooms are packed full with changing booths and lockers with little room to maneuver around. There is only one male and one female shower room with 5-7 shower heads. The pool area is cramped with chairs along the edges forcing you to side step past them. The concrete walls show signs of water damage and paint peeling all over. The two indoor “hot” pools were actually mildly warm with only small sections of bubbling water. The area with the children’s pool and area was very nicely layout, however most of the kids were in the main area with their parents in the warm pools. Their behavior and loudness took away from the goal of relaxing. A recommendation for the locker keys and access control to different areas, use a more modern method like a rubber wrist band embedded with a chip that is programmed at front desk. The coin chip works, however placing it in the wrist band holder with the locker key is bulky and requires constant attention to ensure it’s still tight or fastened to wrist. Overall the place is best suited to take your children and let them burn some energy off. This is NOT a place to go if you wanna relax in a hot therme.

Congress Hall

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Nestled in Nuremberg, the Kongresshalle stands as a striking reminder of its tumultuous past. Originally conceived by architect Albert Speer during the 1930s under the Nazi regime, this vast structure was designed to host grand gatherings for the National Socialist Party. Although it remains unfinished, its imposing architecture evokes a sense of both awe and reflection on history's darker chapters. Today, this monumental site has transformed into a versatile event venue that accommodates various cultural activities such as conferences and concerts.
It is big, scary and makes you feel small. We didn't go inside to see the photos and documents. In case you have time, I would still suggest to see them. It is a part of history after all. The building is being renovated and hopefully, it will be actively used again.

A historical site that reminds us of what the world has gone through in the dark days. An unbelievably huge place, bigger even than the Colosseum, this was the original gathering place of the Nazis. Now under construction, in a couple of years it will offer a better view of the building with a larger museum inside the yard. The current museum section is rather small.

It can be seen from far away in any direction, that's how monumental it was designed and built like everything in that time. Seeing it from the ground doesn't really do it's justice, so look up some aerial/drone footage too. Currently under some renovation works, hopefully it can be put to a better use than it was designed for.

An unfinished monument, humongous in size, now being used as multiple different things, from offices to photo shoot place and maybe a theatre in some years. Has a large lake around and a big walkway. So overall a nice place to roam around.

This building started having built only to emerge as an architectural marvel that would have mesmerized the visitors. It was planned to be used as a Congress Hall. But the work stopped midway due to the war and its outcome. Now the building is abandoned yet maintained and being used as a storage space. They have put up signs at various places explaining the importance and history of the building. A nice place to visit to touch a piece of history.

Sadly it is under construction maintenance. You don’t need tickets to see the plaza, it is free just walk around and find the door.

If you ever wondered about the scale and power the Nazi Party had over Germany you should visit this site. Very informative and truly demonstrated the ambitions of one or two men and how this shaped our history.

In my opinion, from my experience, you must visit it in Nuremberg! It looks fantastic, it’s not the boring part of the city, it’s really important part including its history.

The Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds in Nuremberg is a striking example of architecture repurposed for learning, offering deep insights into the history of the Nazi regime. Currently undergoing major renovations to enhance accessibility and exhibitions, the renewed spaces is scheduled to be completed in 2026.

It's my second time visiting this complex and I can highly recommend it. This time, I found out that the museum itself has been closed for several years already due to extensive renovations. Unfortunately this wasn't very clear online and when you get there the signage isn't very clear either - we walked right past the containerized ticket booth because when you walk towards the building from the parking lot, you can't see the signage. However, visiting the special exhibition was worth it. It's immensely important to expose yourself to our history - maybe one day we will learn?

Historical interesting but the museum is very small. Better go outside to have a look at the impressive structures

It was closed due to a rock concert. With all the camped attendees, it was a bit on the nose

Impressive to imagine what took place here years ago. Would have been nice to have some pictures/explanations outside in the visitor’s viewing place

Worth a visit. They are currently renovating and I expect that the updated museum will be excellent. No real signage for the other outdoor paths and buildings. We saw the interim exhibit and it was quite complete. €5 cash to park. Couple this site with the Nuremberg Court Rooms. (Make sure to pay the street parking fee as a whole line of cars got ticketed outside the court room.)

It was temporarily closed when I visited. If you want to see it reopened, go in 2026.

Nürnberg Zoo, established in 1912, is one of the largest and oldest zoos in Europe. It is located just a short tram ride east of the city center amidst lush forests in a former sandstone quarry. The zoo houses over 2,000 animals from around 300 species within natural exhibits. Visitors can observe a variety of wildlife including ibex, lions, zebras, polar bears, dolphins, elephants and more in spacious enclosures surrounded by shady trees.
Wonderful Family Day at Tiergarten Nürnberg! We had a fantastic time visiting the Tiergarten in Nürnberg with our family! The park is beautifully laid out, with plenty of space to walk and explore. We saw so many animals – from lions and giraffes to penguins and dolphins – and every exhibit was well-maintained and engaging. Our kids absolutely loved the experience and especially enjoyed the dolphin show and the farm animal area where they could get a bit closer to the animals. The park is also very clean and has good food options and shaded areas for breaks. I highly recommend booking tickets in advance, especially during weekends or holidays – it saves time and guarantees entry. A must-visit if you’re in the area and looking for a fun, educational day out with children!

A nice zoo with impressive constructions and a variety of species. However, almost everything is in German. Only the titles of the species are in English and nothing else. Very difficult to learn something or listen to one of the tours and demonstrations if you are not a German speaker.

Nice, clean, and well maintained zoo. The animals seem to be happy, except the tiger, which has too little space. I felt really bad when people kept smoking (many) and throwing things to animals, I wish there were staffs there to educate these people.
LALITA W — Google review
My wife and I visit the Tiergarten for many years at least once a week. It’s easily one of the most beautiful, most impressive zoos in all of Europe. Animals like the harpy, the Mishmi takins, the mossy frogs and the blue tree monitor are endangered species and not easily found in other European zoos. The habitats are intricately conceived to resemble the natural spaces of animals and meet their needs and preferences. Wandering across the vast landscape zoo is simply one of the most entertaining and informative adventures Nuremberg offers.

The zoo is located on the mountainside so there is a lot of hiking involved in visiting it. It's also really big and has lots of trees, sometimes you feel like going through a forest only to reach another animal enclosure. There are also some rare animals here like polar bears. The only problem I had with it was the program, the feeding times overlap with other points of the program. I guess it's to have people decide so none of them are really crowded and for the people to avoid running around the zoo, but if you are here as a tourist it kinda sucks since you won't be able to see them all unless you arrive here early in the morning at stay till 4pm

If you're interested in visiting giraffes and dolphins like me, now is not a good time to visit Nurnberg Zoo; however, your visit will still be enjoyable.

Great so many animals to see. Great value and tram takes you there easily. Best value via a Nurenberg Card 48hr ticket. Seeing free flying bats and a fabulous tiger was amazing plus the fish. Allow at least 4 hours to see all.

I have a pleasant visit in this zoo, with a lot of places to see. The animals looks and are pretty happy Í think because they have a lot of space where they actually live. What I notice also our presence there make them feel good and not lonely. Good job Nürnberg Zoo keep the good work!
