A very beautiful town — small, but full of charm with its lovely brick buildings. It’s a pleasure to walk around, everything feels great, and the riverside promenade is absolutely stunning. Loved it!

A quaint little harbor, left from olden days. Very scenic. Like a relict from another time. Both sides of the canal are lined with bats, cafés and restaurants. A super day trip from Hamburg, easy to reach with the S Bahn. Highly recommend to any Hamburg visitor. And the old town of Stade is another highlight, full of beautiful sights and shops to explore.

Nice cosy place to eat or have a few drinks near the water. Fills up quiet well during the weekends, take that into account!

We have been there a number of times and found the park very nice and fun to be in with kids. There was a very nice big playground and many things to see and do. We will go again and we can only recommend this to anyone.

We had an amazing time at Wildpark Schwarze Berge! The park is beautifully laid out, surrounded by peaceful forest and plenty of space for the animals to roam. You can really feel that the animals are well cared for and that the staff are passionate about nature and education. The walking paths are scenic and easy to follow, and there are so many species to discover — from wild boars and deer to owls, lynxes, and wolves. What we especially enjoyed was the Fuchsfütterung (fox feeding). It was such a unique and intimate experience to watch the foxes up close and learn more about their behavior. The keeper explained everything in a really engaging way and made it feel personal and special. Seeing how curious and playful the foxes were was definitely the highlight of our visit. The park also has great viewing areas, clean facilities, and a nice restaurant with local food. It’s a perfect spot for families, couples, or anyone who loves animals and nature. We’ll definitely come back again — and next time, we’ll plan to stay even longer!

Huge park to entertain your kids. There are plenty of animals to see and areas that you can relax have a Picknick. Also they have an area where you can have a BBQ if you bring your own things to grill. Can spend the whole day with kids and family.

Large and clean animal park with spacious enclosures, but sometimes difficult paths with quite a gradient. The path through the park is paved and can also be visited with handcarts, wheelchairs and prams. Plenty of clean toilets, rubbish bins and food is also provided. Dogs are allowed! Large and open animal enclosures for very close contact.

My Daughter enjoyed every moments and to see animals and some to touch them. Surprisingly enough there is many people visit on weekend but since the place is bigger you don't see or feel it is crowded. The challenge if you take a bus it runs after every 45 min and during summer most of weekends the bus is full

Inevitably a very thought provoking experience. A very detailed museum with photos, video artefacts etc. Outside it was not fully clear where to go, take the free map. Nice to see Anne Frank's memorial, her story has moved me for over 50 years

Free to enter and walk around, the scale of the area is massive and you can easily spend 2-3 hours walking around. You don't truly understand the scale of the camp until you walk the grounds. Although none of the original building stand there are plenty of maps explaining certain areas dotted around the grounds. The POW cemetery is separate from the camp, roughly a 5 min walk and is now connected via a sand path that crosses the training area. All signs have an English translation and the exhibits in the museum also have English translations. There is a cafe and library on site, but I didn't visit.

The history in this memorial was extremely tough to see but important to know so the past will never be repeated

Poignant and moving. Very well narrated in the stories and pictures in the museum which is new. Camp site tells the story well although it is only the foundation now as it was destroyed at the liberation due to disease concerns.

Great fun park for young kids. Plenty of carousels, some faster, some slower. There is also a fairy tale walk where different fairy tales are presented.

Great spot for kids up to 8 years old. Just a heads-up: they only accept cash payments in the restaurant — I had to use up all my coins. Pretty ridiculous in this day and age… if payment device is broken, please consider to provide a spare one!

It's such a shame that this park is not well organized. We visit the park 4 person on a Saturday afternoon. We waited at one food station 1,5 hours, finally when we arrived in front to order the electronic sistem was broken so they start to close. We went to the next food station were we waited for 4 pizza 1,5 again, because there was working only one boy who was sooooooooooooooo slowly... It was like a bad joke. So we lost 3 hours only waiting in the lines for food. For 81 euros 2 adults and 2 kids IT WAS NOT WORTH IT! Never again we will come here and we don't recommend. Shame for the animals, this was the only nice thing here.

Great wee place to take the kiddos. I wouldn’t recommend fir kids over the age of 12-13 they could get bored but the wee ones will love it!! You can also bring your dogs as long as you keep them on a leash and they are used to crowds!

if you're neither looking for crazy rides nor a theme park that pretty much yells "I was made in 2023! I'm super modern! Look at me how shiney I am!", then you should go to this theme park if you're into 'vintage' parks. This park is a bit on the older side of life but made with so much detail and love. My friend and I are always coming back because it just makes you feel "at home". Nostalgic classic rides, nostalgic colors .. love it! Also, it's great for smaller/younger kids, not so much for teens who usually want to go on fast rides ;) it's definitely worth it (as an adult) to come here in the late afternoon for a price reduction

Inside, the museum offers a detailed look at regional history with modern exhibition techniques and clear descriptions. Interesting fact: During World War II, Celler Schloss was used as a refuge for artworks from major museums to protect them from bombings, adding a unique historical layer to its story.

We did a guided tour. She was amazing and explained everything really well. Enjoyed the parts we could see. She said that the chapel won’t be accessible starting on December until March due to reparations so take into consideration.

Visited Celle Castle in February and absolutely loved it. I didn’t go inside, but just walking around felt like stepping into a fairy tale. A charming stop if you’re in Celle!

Serengeti Park Hodenhagen absolutely exceeded our expectations! We had an amazing time exploring the self drive safari. It's incredibly well organized and gives you a rare chance to see exotic animals up close from the comfort of your own car. From giraffes walking past our windows to rhinos grazing nearby, the whole experience felt like a mini African adventure right in Germany. What impressed us the most was how smoothly everything ran. Entry was well coordinated, the drive-through routes were clearly marked, and there were friendly staff around to guide and assist if needed. The animals appeared healthy and well cared for, with plenty of space to roam. But the fun doesn’t stop there. The amusement park section was a fantastic surprise. There’s a great mix of rides and attractions for both kids and adults. The park is clean, spacious, and offers a lot of variety to fill the entire day. Overall, it’s 100% worth the visit, especially for families or anyone looking to do something unique over the weekend. We left with so many great memories and can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend!

We went for the Halloween special and we really enjoyed it. It wasn't too busy, and not too scary. We were able to enjoy all the rides without a wait on most occasions. Unfortunately, both rollercoasters were not operating, I dont know if this is normal for the winter months. We stayed in a safari comfort lodge, which was clean and perfect for the three of us. It was quite small, but we were only in there to sleep. The accommodation is immediately next to the park and restaurant. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was included in our package. We didn't have time to experience the safari park this visit. We will definitely be returning next year.

An interesting park with a lot of different animals. My recommendation is to go through the park in your own car instead of the bus, as it is really safe and better for seeing the animals. Touring by car takes about 2–3 hours, after which you can visit the amusement park within the same area and spend another 3–4 hours having fun—rides, winning teddy bears by throwing into baskets, food available around. There is also a place where you can feed and pet goats, sheep, and llamas, which is truly wonderful for animal lovers. Overall, a very nice experience and recommended.

It is a really great place for a whole day family trip! The safari part is incredible, we were on our own car and haven't regretted it. You can see animals really close, they have plenty of space and look really healthy. And we loved the amusement park! Surprisingly there were almost no ques, we didn't have to wait more that 5 mins for a ride. Top place, highly recommend!

One of the best Safari park in northern Europe ! Very large, organised, clean and must visit. The rides are also a bonus and included, if you want to cover both I recommend to start early spend 09.30 to 12.30 at the safari, have lunch and spend rest of the day at the rides. The rides are for all age groups and parking facility is quite good, so can easily walk around. There is also an indoor play area for younger kids. Overall can easily spend a full day with family having fun and good memories !

We had booked the Tongasoa lodges. What they don't tell you is there is a hard deadline for check in. The reception closes at 7pm and they were available until 8pm for late check in. The keys and the room no. information are all provided only at the reception, if you come late, we aren't sure where you will need to spend the night. We were very lucky to have caught them just when they were locking up and they were kind enough to help us with our checkins after their work hours. Apart from that everything else was really nice. They rooms were nice and clean, the beds were comfortable and all amenities were functional. The breakfast the next day at Manyara restaurant was just fine. If you are a vegetarian, you will be able to get sandwich and cereals and for vegan probably just fruits and salad vegetables. Safari the next day was really fun, we went with our own cars. The animals were very close and approached the cars. I thought I read you shouldn't feed the animals, but some of the cars in front of us were feeding apples, bananas and carrots and nobody stopped them. The amusement park was also fun, it came with the safari tickets, we didn't need to pay extra.

We visited the lower ground of the castle while on a family vacation. The views are amazing, lovely gardens and many green alleys to indulge in nature. Gardens are very well maintained and are simply breathtaking. You can enjoy a lovely view of the City from the top part of the castle

Such an amazing castle with beautiful views. The path leading up to the tower is a moderate hike with a lot of stairs to climb but the view from top is worth the hard work.

The view is amazing. It's a good walk, so bring water with you. It was raining and foggy, but it was still worth it. They have some light shows at night, so I recommend going later.

The museum is good enough to enjoy the stories of the Greeks. However, it has no ancient monuments as it contains prototypes for statues, vases and temples. However, It contains some nice art work and it is the only place in Kassel to buy souvenirs as postcards and magnets 🧲 😀. A bit expensive souvenirs, but it's okay..

Absolutely stunning. A lot of walking but there is a shuttle bus from Hercules to the Schloss. A lot of beautiful statues. Allow a good chunk of the day to visit and best on a dry day.

Marvelous piece of man made wonder. Gigantic, rusty and majestic. Nice to trek with the family and have excellent opportunity to explore the nature. From HBF, you can take tram 4 to wilhelmspark and from there either ride with bus line 23 untill Herkules or trek the 3 odd kilometers. Also there are parking opportunities near wilhelmspark tram station but it's filled quickly on Wasserspiel days (Sundays, Wednesdays and public holidays in summer). Worth and recommended.

Absolutely gorgeous park, but be prepared to hike! Walk from the info center to the Hercules statue was about 3 hours one way. The water attractions get filled on Wednesday Friday and Sunday, so try to be at the Hercules statue around 2.

The place is beautiful and high and you can see the area from the castle. It requires a lot of tiring walking and there is no transportation at the end of the place within a short distance. It is recommended to take water and food.

Probably the most prominent feature of the park and the main attraction to visitors! This 350 meters long water Grand Cascade stretches from the Neptune fountain at the bottom all the way to the Octagon with Hercules statue at the top. It's quite a hike with many stairs to reach the peak, however there are plenty of features, such as fountains, statues and sculptures, on the way to stop and admire. Platforms and observation decks offer nice views of the surroundings as well as of the cascade itself. I had a little bit of an issue with the cleanliness and the maintenance. Unfortunately a lot of cigarette butts, broken glass bottles and plastic trash were omnipresent, taking my focus and joy away. As for a world heritage site I would expect a different level of presentation. This is the place where the water show starts, at 3:30 PM every Wednesday, Sunday and some public holidays. It's a slow process if you are watching this at the Neptune's fountain at the bottom of the cascade. It takes approximately 10 minutes until the water reaches the pond and covers the cave. It gets very crowded here, and I mean CROWDED, therefore I recommend coming early (I secured my place right in front nearly 45 minutes prior to the start). It's quite a unique experience to see this extraordinary water spectacle! The roaring water adds a completely different atmosphere to the whole place! Visited on a Sunday in August 2022.

Amazing water features laid out as formal gardens. By chance we called in on Wednesday at 1pm - the only week day active water is Wednesday at 2.30 (or Sunday). Highly recommend going at this time as its a very different experience.

Must see. I started from the bottom of the hill and it was quite a climb. There was no water on the day otherwise it would have been even better. I went inside the castle and up to the pyramid. It costs 6euro but the ticket is also good for you to go into the museum.

Easily one of the best experiences in my life. If you are to visit Kassel, DO_NOT_MISS_THIS! It is best to follow the water as it goes downstream. There is a particular order of venues you should visit as the water flows on. Just follow the crowd and keep the timetables in mind. It is also good to bring some wine and food along.

Standing high above the city in the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, the sheer size and presence of the statue and the pyramid it rests on is awe-inspiring. The panoramic views over Kassel and the surrounding hills are worth the trip alone. What makes the experience even more special is the unique water feature system – when the cascades are running, you can watch the water rush down step by step through the entire park, ending in a dramatic fountain. It’s a spectacular show of Baroque engineering that still feels magical today. The walk up can be a bit demanding, but the combination of nature, history, and architecture makes it unforgettable. Beautiful place...as everyone knows it has 500 steps...that you have to climb slowly because you arrive out of breath...you can have a picnic at the bottom...but I went in the summer and the castle was horrible. And it's under renovation. Don't go inside the castle to go up and down for at least two hours while you walk around. If you have more time, even better. The fountains do not have water like in the videos for these dates and the heat was 33 degrees....

The waterfalls and fountains are operated on Wednesdays and Sundays on the afternoon. It’s a wonderful and quite unique spectacle being a UNESCO cultural site. To follow the path of the 5 stations you have to walk over 2 Km, mainly downhill.

Stunning views! Came the first week of November (so naturally the fountains/water were not running), but got some beautiful autumn colours and some blue sky. There is no fee to wander around the monument. I believe there's a museum there, which costs money. Unclear on if anyone is allowed to climb further up the monument (able to walk around the base at the top of the stairs), but there were locked gates blocking off when I went (around 1500h on a Monday). Helpful hint, I took the bus to the Herkules monument and then walked down through the park. It's a lot of stairs to walk up to the top, but really enjoyable walking downhill.

Very bombastic venue, however it is being repaired and not a nice visit ( as of Nov 2035). I wouldn't pay the €8 to go up, unless you wish a wonderful view only, the the construction is rather hideous really. The cascade is worth a walk up and down. Wear good footwear; 535 steps. You can access the staircase cascade free. Chech the timings as the water is only switched on during the summer months, around 14:30hrs. Still worth a visit.

Very well maintained castle. It is great to visit with kids, specially when there are medieval markets or other events. I suggest in case of castle events, to get there early as it can be difficult to find a parking spot later kn the day. The views from the high tower are awesome!!

It's a good place to visit with a great view from the tower and even from the ground. They have events right now and it feels like it takes you back in the medieval time. There's some shops and stores. The cafe in the Castle also offers various delicious cakes. It's family friendly, alot of activities for kids.

We came here for the Christmas market and it just may be my favorite Christmas market. It's set in a medieval castle and the market expands from outside to all inside the castle. Very cool! Has a very authentic medieval market feel and lots of homemade gifts, lots of things you wouldn't find at traditional markets. Lots of people dress up in medieval attire which was also cool. Lots of really good food options as well. The market is only open certain weekends, so plan in advance!

We visited the medieval market at this place. The best experience was to see all the attendees wearing the medieval costumes , which gives a feel how this place would have been running during the medieval period. Big ground available for car parking. The market was also big and good place for the kids to enjoy and have fun.

We really enjoyed Ronneburg Castle, especially during Walpurgisnacht, where witches, fairies, jesters, and many characters from fairy tales and the Middle Ages come to life. There was a market with a variety of goods, all stylized to fit the medieval theme. At the market, you could also taste cherry beer and sausages - there was something for everyone! You could also enter the castle and walk up the stairs, where you could eat onion soup or simply enjoy tea or coffee with cake. There were also many activities for children, such as a carousel, archery, and face painting. The tower was particularly memorable, as it offered a breathtaking view that was worth waiting in line for about 20 minutes.

Beautiful garden, it's so soothing to walk here. Families with kids, couples and groups enjoyed the mood. Next time we'll visit them on weekdays because the crowd was huge. We anticipated amazing butterflies but there weren't many.

The palmengarten was absolutely stunning and well taken care of, lots to see and the atmosphere is amazing. Its a great place for all ages, they have an awesome play area for the kids too. I just wish there were more toilets but other then that the place is a must see

Took my girlfriend on a date here and would happily return for more (both to the girl and the garden). The ticket price is well worth the experience, and I’d strongly recommend it to anyone who is looking to escape the cityscape into a lovely area of natural beauty. My only complaint was that it was so popular that many other people had the same idea I did, resulting in some over-crowding in a few of the areas. But overall, it receives 5 stars from me and a desire to return to lose myself there in the future.

Vast, almost otherworldly botanic gardens. Fascinating any time of the year if you have any interests in plants and botany. I went in autumn and the park was radiant with autumn colour. I went round clockwise from the Palmentgartenstrasse side and the think this was best. Started with nice lake views then onto the butterfly house and then the mind boggling greenhouses with various climate controlled zones.

Excellent botanical garden! Very large, with a wide variety of ecosystems. The tropicarium ranges from the Himalayan mountains to the deserts of South America. Above the waterfall there is a nice city view. In the underground grotto, there are aquariums with fish and plants from all over the world.

We had some time to waste before a flight and this was the perfect place - in fact it might become a routine to spend time here to finish the yearly Europe stay. Very well mentioned from the grow houses to the passways and bathrooms. It would be amazing if one of the snack stations had vegan options on the menu (might have overlooked one?) What strikes a visitor first is the marvellous collection of statues and paintings. It is not very spectacular when viewed from a distance but when you are inside you are wonder-struck at the great assemblage of rare statues and paintings. The tall columns and arches all add to the grandeur of the cathedral. The picture of St Bartholomew being flayed alive gives a shudder to you.

Beautiful historical site. The Romer still stands in Frankfurt in all its majesty. This medieval building is perhaps the city's most important landmark. In the past it was regarded as the most beautiful square in Germany. Now it is a very popular square and a very good spot for photographs. Romer is the seat of the Frankfurt city administration. There was a sizable crowd there when we went to it. There was also some preparations going on for an upcoming national event.

The Römer is absolutely stunning - a must-see when visiting Frankfurt! The old town square around it is full of charm, with half-timbered houses, cafés, and plenty of photo spots. You really get a feel for the city’s history here. It’s especially nice in the evening when the lights come on, and during the Christmas market it looks magical. Easy to reach by foot or public transport, and there are lots of restaurants nearby. A perfect place to start exploring Frankfurt!

The service is absolutely perfect, the view, the experience everything is worth it but unfortunately the food is not that special. I would expect more from a michelin star restaurant. It wasn’t bad dont get me wrong, it just wasnt 1000€ good. Dubai, tel aviv and other cities with michelin star restaurants were just better food wise.

I found it a bit too pricey and the portions are tiny, even that it is the tasting menu. The food was very good, very artistic and service was very good, not too fancy. However, I would appreciate some local touch and use of more local products instead of constantly mentioning how their tomatoes came from the best Spanish tomatoes (where exactly in Spain lol) or some French vegetables or even more far away places. Wine by glass is too expensive too and wine pairing, consisting of 6 glasses of 100ml glasses is way too big for me, I would not be able to drink a whole bottle of wine alone.

My sister and I were in the lounge and had a few drinks (Mojitos, Negroni, Espresso Martini, Macallan Whiskey) as well as the cheese selection. Everything was very tasty and beautifully prepared. The view was amazing and the staff very attentive and friendly.

Excellent cuisine with a view. The Main Tower delivers a beautifu viewl of the city and some delicious molecular gastronomy, but lacks in ambience and service. The setting is a bit austere and does not have the opulence of some other fine dining establishments. The service is typical German: to the point. The dishes were explained well, but it was all transactional. If you don't order the wine course - good luck. Cocktails and other drinks were hard to come by - my sole cocktail was never offered for a refill, water refills were also rather slow. The pace of the dinner is very slow, one truly can relax and enjoy the meal over 4+ hours with the nice sunset view of the city. All the courses were expertly crafted and very good to exceptional. Only a few, such as the quail for main course was sub-par. It is a bit pricey and I must admit the experience, while very good, just didn't have the wow factor we were looking for.

Needless to say I was amazed with the beautiful panorama and the simple, yet sophisticated interior of the restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious. Some of the ingredients were complete new to me (as I usually stick to me personally known recepies). Every course was presented in details by the competent and very polite and professional waiter. Special thanks to the waiter Mr. Wilhelm (I hope I rememmber correctly) who made our experienced so pleasant. With regards to the price, I would not say it is expensive. Very crowded all the time of the day. There are trains to all parts of Europe from this central station. The station is quite big and it is decently maintained. The trains I took from here were all on time. Even the S bahn can be taken from this station only

If you’re passing through during the day with luggage and clear destination, it’s very serviceable and worth using. At night or if you plan a long stay in the area, just be a bit cautious.

Unfortunately, there are many beggars in the area who constantly ask for money and food. this is definitely a museum that you should take the time to see. They have three floors a various artist and art. It’s quite pricey. It’s €18 per person which I find expensive. entrance. People at the cashier were very nice. They were helpful. They also have bathrooms which were very clean a gift shop they also had a small café with a lovely young lady behind it who could speak English I’m always happy when that happens since I don’t speak German and I ordered a piece of the apple pie which she recommended and it was delicious and a cup of cappuccino. It’s a nice way to spend 2 to 3 hours enjoying the beautiful art.

Was skeptical it would be worth the 16 euro entry fee but for what you get, the price is reasonable or even cheap. The sheer scale of this place and the range in its collection is mind boggling. Beautifully curated. Temporary exhibition that was on at my time of visit was also very thought provoking. Exhibits range from religious paintings to contemporary paintings to sculptures to photographs and multimedia. I almost missed the underground exhibits but 100% make it a point to stop by. The modern experimental art is incredible (funded by various German institutions I believe). Genuinely could spend hours there. You can casually see famous artists works displayed. Lovely staff as well. 10/10. That’s how you do an art museum!!

An overall pleasant space surrounded by beautiful architecture, artistically designed staircase leading up to the rooftop terrace, overlooking the River Main and Frankfurt’s skyline. Stadel didn’t seem to have as many star attractions as some of the larger museums, but Schuch and French Art exhibition was an interesting theme. I downloaded their app to see if that would work as an audio guide, but it unfortunately didn’t work.

This is a small zoo in Darmstadt, where suitable for a short visit of 2-3 hours. this zoo provide friendly space for children and family activities.

Went for couple hours and I was actually pleasantly with the diversity. Very good park and nice place to spend a day with kids. The internal restaurant is too expensive. Pretty cool activity to do in otherways mostly boring city.

It was very nice experience, not too many animals but at least the prices were reasonable and conveniently little people and walking.

This is a small Zoo but with heart and soul. The animals are treated good, there was enough food and space for each inhabitant. Some animals were lend out to other zoos so not all areas were filled. Entrance fee is really good compared to other zoos I have been to. The prices of the small cafe were too high (~4€ for fries) and it took way to long (~20 mins waiting time for fries...?), queueing excluded. The area is accessible with a wheelchair and the parking lots are close. Will be back for sure.

Not much to see cause not such a big zoo, but very nice and appealing for kids. Benches. Playgrounds. Clean. The crocodile hides and sleeps and not green.... Some listed animals missing. This was very nice for me and the kids.

The small animal park is a great day out with small children. We love the otters and the monkey house! Presently (October 2025) they are doing quite a bit of maintenance which means some of the enclosures are not available. Our family has had a membership since 2010 and highly recommend it.

That was the best museum that I've ever seen. Fossils, ancient Egypt, Knight armours, various minerals and stones, amazing tiffany glass examples, stunning old jewelleries, ancient Rome miniatures and more... It was absolutely amazing. 3 floors took my 3 hours and I could've stay even more.

It is a huge museum having 7-8 sections ranging from science, arts to history. The hardwork of workers in preserving the biological samples is admirable. You can come with kids to give them a good insights into different subjects. It is fantastic museum.

Excellent natural history museum with interesting mineralogical and zoological collections in addition to a range of works of art from both the ancient and modern world. In my opinion the heart of the museum is in the collection of fossils from the nearby Messel site, as they are incredibly well prepared and presented.

A surprisingly fulfilling museum with interesting exhibits in all areas ranging from art and history to the natural world. Be sure to reserve a good three or more hours for this place if you want to get round everything, as it has a vast collection - especially of art. The Max Liebermann exhibition was on when I visited. This was one of the best parts and was a well put together exhibition with interesting pieces. Most of the descriptions of the pieces are in German but this didn't reduce any of the entertainment for me. One kind employee even had a nice chat with me about the permanent collection. Entry is cheap and discounted for students so I undoubtedly recommend a visit as I believe it's one of the most interesting places to visit in Darmstadt!

We came for the art deco section and especially the jewelry part. This is the best display of jewelry I have ever seen. And the rest of the museum is also excellent. Beautiful pieces and excellently displayed. A must see for everyone. Very helpful security, especially in the art deco section where we were pointed towards the available drawers with even more jewelry.

Hidden gem of Mainz! I have been outside in the church cloistered courtyard, which is relatively small but very beautiful and picturesque, many times, however this was my first time inside the church and I was really impressed. I had no idea there was such a beautiful church in Mainz! This place is known for its unique stained-glass windows in luminous blue that were created by Marc Chagall. The light coming through the windows was absolutely stunning and created an almost unreal ambience, I felt like being under water. I have never seen such beautiful lighting in any church I have visited (visited mid-day with clear skies, so nothing was blocking the sun beams to enter the church). I also enjoyed the beautiful modern Organs near the chancel with the altar. There is a little gift shop inside, where you can buy souvenirs like postcards, books and magnets mainly with the blue window theme. Church is wheel-chair accessible and there is no entrance fee. Totally recommend to visit this church as pictures don't really do justice, you must see it with your own eyes to have the full experience. Visited in May 2022.

Beautiful church has many Marc Chagall stain glass. On the negative side, watch you step a member of our party missed the small steps and was carted off to the hospital. Church staff could of cared less. We had to get her there on our own.

A nice, modern stadium with good views of the pitch from most seats. It’s in the middle of nowhere though, so the pre and post match experience is really stale. It’s possibly the most remote ground I’ve been to.

Such a great Stadium, what a fantastic atmosphere, top crowd, very easy to get to with Publix transport. Highly recommend as someone that visits many Bundesliga grounds.

Michelstadt is indeed an old town and well worth a visit it goes back to the medieval days, it has a synagogue that you can visit, the once a thriving Jewish community but not since the 1930s , the town pavements are covered in Stolperstein which little cobblestone with the name of the people arrested, deported, and murdered by the Nazis I would recommend a visit to the town

This was during the Eastern market that they have on the weekends around Easter. It's fun they sell some food it isn't big like a Christmas market. But it is a fun place to go and has a festive atmosphere and all the shops are open even on Sunday. They sell some brats and some snitchel some ice cream and things like that

As a Filipina who loves Fairytales Cartoons movie, I always dreamed to see tmreal Castle. But then I Started to love old culture Cities. This City is one of my favorite in my list, which I was so inlove in this town and dreaming to have my next home here. Middle age is here to found! Rathaus was built on 1484 which facinated me that until this Generation this house still standing after many years!

Located on top of a hill, you can both drive and hike to visit the castle. There are two options for hiking, 1. You take the regular road route up or 2. You take a little more challenging route up the mountain that allows only one person to walk up or down at a time. I took the second route and I must warn you, it looked rarely used and was overgrown with plants, Don't take this route if you are with children. The climb up takes you through plenty of honey farms, and you can also buy honey from these local farms. The hike takes about an hour, depending on your fitness levels. Photographers paradise. There is not much to explore at the Starkenberg castle itself but the view is breath taking. There is a Biergarten located with the castle grounds and the general atmosphere is relaxed. The hostel is incredible !!! Staying two nights at Starkenburg, sleeping in the castle is a great unforgettable memory. Visiting Starkenburg was a fantastic experience! Located just a short and pleasant uphill walk from Heppenheim Bahnhof, this castle is not only steeped in history but also surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. The trail to the top winds through lush greenery, making it a peaceful nature walk with great photo opportunities along the way. Once you reach the top, you’re rewarded with spectacular panoramic views over the vineyards, the town of Heppenheim, and the surrounding hills of the Odenwald region. The castle itself is impressively well-preserved, with its tall towers and thick stone walls transporting you back to medieval times. Be sure to check out the architecture and the crest engraved into the stone! It’s a perfect spot for a day trip, casual hike, or even a picnic on the grassy slopes near the castle. Whether you’re a history lover, photographer, or just looking for a quiet escape in nature, Starkenburg delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended!

I was a guest in the hotel but can not recommend staying here, while the location is excellent, there is little sense of hospitality. When we arrived we asked if we could get a table for dinner. We were told they were all booked out. We did not find anything else we liked in the area, and we had our eyes on the pepper steak on the menu here so we tried our luck again at the restaurant. There was a table free outside, which said it had been reserved for 19h but at this point it was well past 20h and the table was still empty. We said we were guests at the hotel and we were promptly told we can not be seated at the table. We ended up ordering food elsewhere and sitting on the bench in the square, to eat on our lap. The entire time, the table at the Goldener Engel stayed EMPTY. Very inhospitable!!! The rooms are clean and spacious, few extras not even water. Breakfast was sparse if you could even get to it - unfortunately it's tucked into a tiny corner and there's room for one person at a time. Not an ideal stay. I expect more welcoming service from a hotel really! very unfortunate.

Traditional German Gasthof. Comfortable rooms, though the bathrooms are on the tiny side. Good food in the restaurant. The tables outside, on the central marketplace, are the BEST you can choose for a drink.

Excellent suite (aqua) and super lush breakfast. Friendly relaxed staff. Lovely location in middle of old town. Highly recommend.

We called in our desperate need Hotel Goldener Engel, explained our situation (no Tesla Destination charger in the nearby booked Michel Hotel, while google said it was), if we please could charge a few % (we said we wanted to pay ofcourse) but the Goldener Engel Hotel said no: it was only allowed if we booked a room. While we walked around, with our two tired little children, to look for help from anybody, we saw outside that the Tesla charger at the Goldener Engel Hotel wasn't used at this moment.

Absolutely adored this hotel. Romantic and quiet location, clean rooms, loved the vegan breakfast options. 10/10

Wonderful dinner and wine with my corporate team here. Never eaten in a building from the 1700s. Surreal experience. Made the food and drink that much more enjoyable.

Lovely 12th-century catholic Church, built in Romanesque style. Inside, one can see Gothic reliefs from the abandoned cloisters, gravestones and grave plates of bishops.

Dom St Peter is a beautiful cathedral in Worms. The exterior is very impressive and there are many stunning stained glass windows to view as you explore the inside of the cathedral

It’s an impressive cathedral that is the major sight of this town. It’s free to enter, so take your chance to go inside and walk around. Part of it is under reconstruction now.

Amazing cathedral with huge towers. The stained glass inside was spectacular. The front is being restored so go around the back for great photos.

Huge internal space like hangars for Zeppelins. View inside with shadows and sunbeams looks like from Angels and Desmond , da Vinci code or Diablo game. Large and Colourful window racks make it even more hypnotic. Description in German and English language. Is bit visible how was it he cathedral constructed, modified during centuries, Something looks older, something new. But look’s better than in Regensburg or Heidelberg. Parking for cars and bikes is outside, you can have probably some paid guide, old Jews cemetery near.

I was so excited to explore and just be I. The same city as this church. The architecture and history here is just stunning. Every area is very detailed and since being built around 1120 it has been maintained and kept in impeccable shape. I would suggest seeing this church. And don’t forget to check out the street filled with monuments and statues of some of the most important figures of the cathedrals/cities history.

Somewhat mysterious place. Guarded and protected against morons. Think have something on your head. Oldest gravestone is on the end of this cemetery. Is from year 1100. Description is in German language so does in English. Rather without a backpack.

At just under an area covering nearly four acres this is purportedly the oldest Jewish Cemetery in Europe and holds UNESCO World Heritage Status. In a nature setting abundant with trees and lush long grass, many graves with Hebrew epitaphed lichen encrusted headstones blend alongside more recent elaborate similarly time worn obelisks. The cemetery suffered vandal damage during the pogroms of 1615 and 1618. Although not in use since 1911 a final interment took place in 1940, ironically during the Nazi Holocaust. This is a site conducive to deep spiritual reflection in recognition of the Jewish presence in Worms since the 10th century. Whilst visiting, gentlemen are required to wear a head covering in accordance with Jewish tradition.

The oldest Jewish Cemetary in Europe with garves dating back a millenia. Also the final resting spot for several prominent German Jews from history. It is a place for quiet reflection. The cemetery is very sombre and well maintained. The old gravestones are especially fascinating and make for great pictures. When you visit Be respectful All men are expected to cover their heads.

Walk into the gate (as pictured) either take the path immediately on the left for about 4/5 min (over grass a bit right before the chelkas harabonim) and then little hill downwards into chelka. Or u can continue straight down the main path till steps on the left (pics inclu) continue that path for about 3 mins till u see path going down into small hill (ditch) on the left (next the big wall of cemetery).
